10 remarkable stories from World War II of individuals not to be underestimated.

None of them knew that she'd lived this double life.

They had no idea that she was Britain's top top female codebreaker.

There was a look of shock on the faces of these Germans to see this six foot four black man in an RAF officer's uniform.

At a time, that German propaganda would suggest black person could not fly a plane.

We'll hear of people flying under the radar to carry out deadly missions.

She often did things like wearing a veil, dressing in black.

She would announce that she was a leper by saying, unclean, unclean.

They thought, well, this sick person is not going to be a part of the resistance.

We'll hear of daring risk takers.

What she was offering to do was to ski in over the high Carpathian mountains in minus 40 degrees.

Remov had only one thing on his mind, to fight the Nazis.

United by a spirit of defiance.

They knew these dangers, but still they carried on.

Of course it was dangerous, but danger was his friend.

Helping people was in his blood.

And motivated by a need to save innocent lives.

He thought of his parents and he wanted to be with them again and he wanted to get them to safety.

He failed to return,

but he left a legacy.

And of that, I am tremendously proud.

Join me for more stories of unsung heroes, acts of resistance, deception, and courage from World War II.
