Speaker 1 off.
Speaker 2 Wall Street's Wild Ride continues, a Title IX task force zeroes in on schools allowing men and women sports, and the Florida Gators battle the Houston Cougars for the NCAA championship.
Speaker 2 I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire editor-in-chief John Bickley. It's Monday, April 7th, and this is your Morning Wire afternoon update.
Speaker 3 Stocks took a roller coaster ride today as Wall Street reacted to President Trump's latest tariff push. Daily Wire's senior editor Cabot Phillips has more.
Speaker 4 The Dow fell another 1,300 points when the markets opened today, only to rebound amid rumors of a tariff pause and then fall again once those rumors turned out to be just rumors.
Speaker 4 Ultimately, by midday, the Dow was down nearly a thousand points, while the SNP fell near bear market territory amid ongoing threats of retaliatory measures from China and others.
Speaker 4 The EU did, however, extend an olive branch of sorts, offering a zero-for-0 trade deal with the US after President Trump imposed steep tariffs on European imports.
Speaker 4 EU Commission President Ursula Vonderlian did, however, caution that they were ready to strike back.
Speaker 4 Meanwhile, in an effort to bring Beijing to the bargaining table, Trump is threatening additional 50% tariff hikes on China if they do not back down on their 34% rate against U.S. goods.
Speaker 2 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met President Trump at the White House today.
Speaker 2 Israel faces a 17% levy under Trump's Liberation Day plan, which surprised Israeli officials amid ongoing war and economic strain. The two leaders will hold joint press conferences this afternoon.
Speaker 2 Netanyahu hopes to reach an agreement with Trump regarding the duties they're currently forced to pay. Here's Netanyahu.
Speaker 6 We will eliminate the trade deficit with the United States. We intend to do it very quickly.
Speaker 6 We think it's the right thing to do and we're going to also eliminate trade barriers, a variety of trade barriers that have been put up unnecessarily.
Speaker 6 And I think Israel can serve as a model for many countries who ought to do the same.
Speaker 2 The two also spoke about regional security, including concerns over Turkey's growing role in Syria and future plans for Gaza.
Speaker 3 The visas for at least three dozen international students and alumni from several top California universities have been revoked.
Speaker 3 The Trump administration cited their involvement in anti-Israel protests.
Speaker 3 Stanford and several University of California campuses confirmed the actions, which follows Secretary of State Marco Rubio's announcement that 300 foreign students would be removed for sparking unrest.
Speaker 3 Several schools claim the move has left students in limbo with limited explanation from federal officials.
Speaker 2 A new Trump administration task force seeks to protect female athletes from what it calls the pernicious effects of gender ideology in school programs.
Speaker 2 Daily Wire White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olihan has the latest.
Speaker 7 The Education and Justice Department say the new Title IX special investigations team will fast-track enforcement against schools that allow men to compete in women's sports.
Speaker 7 Education Secretary Linda McMahon says that this is the women's rights issue of our time, while Attorney General Pam Bondi calls it a top priority.
Speaker 7 The move follows Trump's executive orders to keep men out of women's sports and to defend children against what the White House calls gender ideology extremism.
Speaker 7 Officials say the task force will ensure that women's civil rights are upheld and violators are held accountable using the full force of federal law.

Speaker 3 In a horrific turn of events Sunday, four kids were attacked with a meat cleaver by a relative. Police say an 11-year-old called 911 from a locked room, prompting NYPD officers to kick down the door.
Speaker 3 The girls, ages 8 to 16, are in serious condition, but are expected to survive. Here's NYPD's commissioner explaining what officers saw when they arrived.
Speaker 6 Once they entered, they encountered a man standing near the entrance holding a large meat cleaver covered in blood, and they could see blood on the floor and the walls of the home.
Speaker 6 The officers ordered the man to drop the weapon several times. He refused and advanced towards them.
Speaker 6 Two officers discharged their firearms, firing seven total rounds between them and striking the subject, ending the threat.
Speaker 2 A new bill in New York would prevent police from conducting routine stops and searches for low-level violations.
Speaker 2 Currently, police are able to stop and search vehicles over things like broken taillights, expired tags and registrations, window tints, and the smell of marijuana.
Speaker 2 Such searches are often used to uncover more serious crimes.
Speaker 2 In fact, one such search nabbed serial killer Joel Rifkin, who had the body of a victim in his car at the time he was stopped for a missing plate.
Speaker 2 Supporters of the bill say it's necessary to promote racial equity as black and Latino drivers are stopped at higher rates.
Speaker 2 But opponents, including law enforcement, say it's dangerous and unprecedented.
Speaker 3 And Trump hosts the L.A. Dodgers at the White House, and Florida takes on Houston tonight in the College Basketball Championship.
Speaker 3 Here are some sports news highlights as Crane and Company co-host David Cohn.
Speaker 5 The Florida Gators will take on the Houston Cougars tonight for the NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship.
Speaker 5 Florida advanced in the Final Four by defeating Auburn 79-73, while Houston came from behind in an upset win over the Duke Blue Devils.
Speaker 5 The Cougars erased a 14-point deficit in the final eight minutes to win 70-67.
Speaker 5 To Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers met with President Trump at the White House today to celebrate their World Series championship over the New York Yankees last October.
Speaker 5 The president singled out several players, including Shohei Otani, for becoming the first major leaguer to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season.
Speaker 8 All year, the Dodgers face down adversity. You entered the playoffs battered and bruised, but not broken.
