The city of Chicago is brazen for the arrival of immigration enforcement officers and National Guard troops.

Mayor Brandon Johnson joined labor leaders at a Labor Day rally to denounce that idea.

Johnson recently signed an executive order that restricts cooperation between Chicago police and federal officers.

The president of Guatemala says his nation is ready to receive 150 unaccompanied minors from the U.S.

This after a judge in Washington halted the deportation of some Guatemalan children over the weekend.

The Trump administration says it's reuniting children with families at the Guatemalan government's request, but immigration advocates argue that the process is bypassing the courts.

Illegal violations that are piling up in this case are quite concerning for lawyers in every area of legal practice in the United States.

Advocates are suing on behalf of unaccompanied Guatemalan children to stop their removals.

India's Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Putin met on the sidelines of the summit to demonstrate an alliance that Modi is calling special and privileged.

Meanwhile, Putin plans to visit India for a bilateral summit in December.

Meanwhile, Russia is being accused of interfering with the navigation of a plane that was carrying the head of the European Union.

As Terry Schultz reports, the flight could not land in Bulgaria because this GPS system had been jammed.

Bulgarian authorities are pointing the finger at Moscow for technical interference experienced by the pilots of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen's plane as they tried to land in Plovdiv on Sunday.

They were reportedly forced to land using paper maps.

Von der Leyen's on a tour of the countries along the EU's eastern border, some of which are rattled over Moscow's full-scale war on Ukraine.

Medical teams from several nations are joining search and rescue rescue efforts in eastern Afghanistan.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake killed more than 800 people there and injured over 2,500 others late Sunday.

Rescue operations are being hampered by extensive road damage and mountainous terrain.

The disaster has also worsened communications.

New York Congressman Jerry Nadler plans to retire from Congress, according to the New York Times.

In an interview with the paper, he is quoted as citing Joe Biden's loss in the last election in his decision.

Nadler helped lead the impeachment of President Trump.

He has served in Congress since 1992 and is the longest-serving members from New York.

The trial of the former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro is now in its final stage at the Supreme Court in Brasilia.

Bolsonaro is accused of plotting a military coup after losing re-election, as the BBC's Ioni Wells reports.

Jair Bolsonaro is accused of masterminding a plot to stay in power after losing the last presidential election, which culminated in his supporters violently attacking government buildings in Brasilia on the 8th of January 2023.

A police investigation also found that Mr.

Bolsonaro had full knowledge of a plan to assassinate Brazil's President Lula de Silva, the then president-elect.

It also cited evidence that Mr.

Bolsonaro called a meeting with top armed forces commanders and presented them with a proposed coup plan.

He has denied wrongdoing.

There are 10 new millionaires from the latest Powerball lottery drawing, but no jackpot winner.

The top prize has now risen to $1.3 billion,

or a cash payout of $589 million.
