The assassin who killed 31-year-old conservative activist Charlie Kirk as he addressed a crowd at Utah Valley University, remains at large.
The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox addressed reporters a short time ago.
We cannot do our job without the public's help right now.
The public has answered our call for action.
So far, we've received more than 7,000 leads and tips.
I would just note that the FBI hasn't received this many digital media tips from the public since the Boston Marathon bombing.
Cox says forensic evidence collected from the crime scene is being analyzed.
He's urging the public to ignore social media bots designed to trigger outrage and violence.
Young conservatives are grieving the loss of Charlie Kirk.
As NPR's Elena Moore reports, many of Kirk's followers saw him as an inspiration.
Kirk had millions of followers on social media and had become an influential voice in GOP politics.
He was also the head of a massive political organizing network and helped some folks decide to run for office themselves.
Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna is 36 and says in many ways she got her start because of Kirk.
She used to work for his group, Turning Point USA.
I am in office and owe my political career to Charlie Kirk.
I wish that he was around so that he could
help rise up others like me.
Kirk had his critics, but within the MAGA movement, he was celebrated.
And now many of his followers are calling for his memory to drive more young people into politics.

The UN Security Council has issued a statement condemning the attack on Qatar.
As NPR's Michelle Kelleman reports, the statement makes no mention of Israel, which says it carried out the strike to target Hamas leaders.
A top UN official, Rosemary DeCarlo, says the Israeli strike on Qatar shocked the world.
It was an alarming escalation, especially since it targeted individuals who were reportedly gathered to discuss the latest U.S.
proposal for a ceasefire and hostage release deal in Gaza.
U.S.
Ambassador Dorothy Shea says Qatar has been working very hard and very bravely to broker peace, and she says the unilateral bombing does not advance Israeli or U.S.
goals, but she tried to keep the focus on Hamas, calling on them to release all the hostages they've held for nearly two years.

Higher gasoline and grocery prices helped push inflation up 2.9% in August when compared to the same time a year earlier.
The Labor Department says auto's clothing and travel also cost more last month.
Stock prices closed higher on hopes that the Fed will now raise interest rates.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is facing 27 years in prison after being convicted of plotting a coup following his failed 2022 re-election bid.
Bolsonaro is currently under house arrest and his legal team is bowing to appeal.
In Washington, President Trump says he was surprised by the outcome of the case.
Trump had threatened to increase tariffs on Brazil if Bolsonaro was not acquitted.
British Ambassador to the U.S., Peter Mendelson, has been fired over his ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Mendelssohn says he regrets falling for Epstein's lies.
His departure comes after the Sun newspaper published emails that Mendelssohn sent to Epstein while the disgraced financier was being prosecuted for sex crimes.
Sabrina Carpenter talks this week's billboard charts, details from NPR Stephen Thompson.
This week, the Billboard Albums chart features just one debut in the top 10.
Man's Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter.
The album Man's Best Friend debuts at number one, but Carpenter's success this week runs deeper than that.
She also lands two songs in the top five, Man Child, which topped the chart earlier this summer, and her new single, Tears.
Tears enters the Billboard singles chart at number three, but it's not alone.
Thanks mostly to streaming, all 12 songs from Man's Best Friend land in the top 40.
