Speaker 2 I just launched a fundraiser for Homes for Our Troops. And like my community on Instagram is showing up in force for it, dude.

Speaker 2 Like we, I launched like 48 hours ago and we're already basically to the goal that I had set for the end of November.

It's incredible. Yeah.
So what was the goal that you were trying to hit?

Speaker 2 Yeah. So the ultimate goal, well, first, let me back up.
So homes.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Tell everybody what you're doing.

Speaker 2 So Homes for Our Troops is an organization that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured post-9-11 veterans.

Speaker 2 And the reason I chose this organization is because they built a home for my cousin Justin, who, you know, in 2010, he was on his third deployment in Afghanistan.

Speaker 2 And someone in front of him on his patrol stepped on an IED pressure plate and he was standing over the charge.

Speaker 2 So he ended up taking the full blast of it, instantly lost both of his legs, and then later had to have his left arm amputated just due to the severity. It was just not savable.

Speaker 2 They tried really hard to save his arm. They couldn't save his arm.
So he was left with just one arm. And like, one of the biggest stressors was like,

Speaker 2 where am I going to live? Like, he had a wife, he had a kid. And it's just like, how, how am I going to find a place to live that's going to make sense?

Speaker 2 So, Homes for Our Troops, they came in and they built a house for him. And it was wheelchair accessible with automated doors.

Speaker 2 Like, the cabinetry in the kitchen all came down so he could reach everything. He could his wheelchair under the sink, under the stove.
They had like lifts installed in the bedroom for him.

Speaker 2 Like, all this incredible stuff. And, like, just

Speaker 2 a second about my cousin Justin, like even though he had such horrific injuries, like this dude was such a badass.

Speaker 2 Like he continued shooting, hunting, fishing, and he could outperform anyone in the family with one arm. But they built a house for him.
So I chose them as an organization to launch a fundraiser for.

Speaker 2 And my ultimate goal is to raise $250,000,

Speaker 2 A lot of people were like, ah, that might be too big of a goal. And I'm like, no, it's not.
Like, it's not too big.

Speaker 2 Like, I would rather have a big goal and like chase really hard than set like a small goal, knowing that I could have done more.

Speaker 2 So I'm breaking it up into, I'm committed for an entire year, but I'm breaking it up into monthly targets.

Speaker 2 So I launched a few days early and I said, by the end of November, I want to raise $20,000 for homes for our troops.

Speaker 2 And I launched a few days early because I was like, okay, it might be slow, might take us a while to get there. I don't know kind of how people are going to show up for this.

Speaker 2 48 hours and we're over $16,000. That's all.
And so like the goal was 20 grand by the end of November. We're almost there already, and it's not even November yet.

Speaker 2 So, I'm super excited about it because

Speaker 2 it's just such a worthy organization. And, like, I saw what they did in my real life.
Like, I went to the house a bunch of times, spent a bunch of time out there. Like, I saw it.
I felt it.

Speaker 2 I saw the difference it made. And it's at no cost to the veterans.
They provide everything for them. And it's just, they're all specially outfitted.

Speaker 2 depending on the types of injuries that these guys and girls are dealing with.

Speaker 2 So, so my goal is just to raise $250,000 for this organization because that's roughly the cost of all of the adaptations that are needed in the house.

Speaker 2 And the houses cost more than that, of course, but that will at least cover a good portion of it.

Speaker 2 So, you know, together as a community, we can really do a lot of good for a veteran who has already given so much for us, who needs a place to live.

Speaker 2 I'm so excited about it. I'm like, I couldn't.

Speaker 1 Well, dude, that's the power of a community, man. You've been putting together a community for a number of years.
You know, you give a lot of amazing value.
