I was 19 years old when Marcial Maciel looked me in the eye and told me I had a calling.
Marcial Maciel was a charismatic Mexican priest who founded the Legionnaires of Christ, a powerful and rapidly growing religious order.
But more than anything, he was an abuser in every sense of the word.
I realized how much fear these men felt for this priest.
Maciel seemed untouchable, but even the darkest secrets eventually find their way to the light.
