This is Paul Alex, and today we have another another phenomenal guest, guys.

Today, I'm sitting down with John Jubilee, co-founder of Energize Health.

John is known for helping people rebuild their energy and transform their lives with simple daily habits.

But what I want to uncover is the man before the success, guys.

So, we're going to take a deep dive into his early story, the struggles, the mindset shifts, and the defining moments that pushed him into entrepreneurship.

So, just like my first business, guys, as you guys know, I started with a side hustle, grew into a full-time income, and now we're here, right?

So, John, welcome to the show.

Great to be here.

Oh, dude.

It's very blessing to have somebody coming from California across the country for the interview, man.

So, thank you once again.

And you have a phenomenal story.

So, we're going to take a deep dive into it, man.

So, John, before you ever became an entrepreneur, what was life like for you, man?

Like your energy, your finances, your confidence, man.

Who was John back then?

Well, I'll encapsulate it for everybody, but you know, it is an inspiring story, Paul, that, you know, I really, my first job was at nine years old.

I was raised by a single mom in the inner city.

Those people that know Columbus, Ohio, I lived in what was called the bottoms, Sullivan Avenue, kind of a kill zone, you know, not a safe place to grow up.

But my mom would not take welfare or food stamps or any of that stuff.

I wish she would have, by the way, because I thought the only two meats in the world were spam and liver.

And I didn't really care for either one of those.

But my mom was, my mom, you know, basically working as a waitress.

You know, she's a teenage mom with me and my older brother.

But at nine years old, I realized my mom needs money.

So I went to work.

And you can't even get a paper out when you're nine years old.

But there was a mentally handicapped boy in my neighborhood that was 13, took him down.

He was my first employee.

So I guess I was an entrepreneur at nine.

But I had a big paper out, about 160 clients.

And then I started buying bikes and fixing them up.

And by the time I was 15 I went to work in a foundry.

That's an iron mill.

I worked on a grinder.

So when people talk about iron sharpens iron, that means something different to me because I was really, you know, grinding iron.

That was 1975.

Paid $8 an hour, but I made about $24 an hour because they paid peace rate.

And I worked really hard and went to high school during the day.

And

then when I

ended up getting to go to college, you know, kind of a fun story.

I'm banking all this money to go to college.

And being born in Columbus Ohio I wanted to go to Ohio State

but through another very dramatic story I had moved to Indiana not by choice but through a set of unique circumstances but I ended up scoring you know a good score on the SAT good enough to get me a full-ride scholarship to Indiana so I got to keep all my money you know that was awesome Some of you that do a little history, again, just fun little side stories is

silver, the Hunt brothers, cornered the silver market in my first year of college I invested in silver and you know became a pretty wealthy college student

so anyway I had this unique journey on my way ended up in banking

you know and started in banking at a young age because the girl I dated in high school her dad was a bank president and he was always impressed with my work ethic you know seeing me work you know in a foundry you know, and then go on to college.

So he hired me to manage a mortgage operation for him.

I didn't know how to spell mortgage.

I said, is there a T in mortgage?

He said, no, really, you'll be amazing at this.

So I had a lot of great success

in those early years.

But banking is not really entrepreneurial, but for me, it really was because by the time I got to one of the, about the fifth largest bank in America, I

negotiated to be a fully commissioned, fully commissioned.

manager, which they'd never done that before.

So I went to work on straight commission.

At that time, ended up making more money than the CEO,

you know, but all the accountants really liked me because all I did was made money for the company.

But my real transference into pure entrepreneurship was with my health issues.

You know, I ended up

bone on bone in both my knees from playing a lot of basketball on

the street and a lot of football.

I had no cartilage left, you know, had the banker belly going on.

I just got to admit, you know, I had a 10-inch belly back then and high blood pressure, hypertension.

But in my frustration of dealing with those health issues and having spent a fortune over 10 years of trying to get myself healthy, I decided I'm going to take control.

And so I decided to go do a bunch of research myself.

to find out how do you get healthy with the human body.

And so I don't claim to be a smart guy, you know, but I am a gifted guy.

I was born with a photographic memory when I was a little kid.

I could read an encyclopedia and quote it back.

And I tested out a 12 years of college math in about 45 minutes.

That was a good 45 minutes.

It saved me a lot of time, a lot of school hours.

And so in the midst of that, though, I learned two simple strategies that, oh, everything is cellular in a human body.

And if you make the cell healthy, your body's going to be healthy.

So when I created that protocol, that transformed me physically.

Little did I know it was going to transform me

entrepreneurially and financially.

Because for the next 11 years, Paula helped several thousand people get off all their medication, lose their fat, gain their muscle, gain their healthy hydration, get back their health.

And again, I can't even make these stories up.

So I had this cool group of 12 men.

We met every Friday morning from 5 to 7 a.m.

I'm not going to name drop who the guy was, but he's a super famous guy.

17 years ago, he had 12 million followers.

Think about this, guys.

12 million 17 years ago.

It was before people even had followers.

And so

all these men kept telling me, John, you got to go full-time in health and wellness.

You're going to change the world.

Well, finally, the main guy sat me down.

He had 800 employees and all these followers and, you know, just a rock star of a business guy.

But he sat me down one day just like we're sitting knee-to-knee toe-to-toe pointing his finger in my face.

John, you're going to change the world.

This is your calling of God.

You got to go do help and wellness.

And I looked at him like, mr.

Monetize it, are you out of your mind?

Like, I'm one of the top 10 bankers in America.

He said, no, really, John, no one can do what you can do.

No one knows your science.

You got to go do this.

And I will put my money where my mouth is.

I'm going to give you my whole staff for free to go do this.

And I walked out to his office, and I just said a simple prayer.

I said, Lord, are you speaking to me through, you know, and I said the guy's name, and I clearly heard the voice of the Holy Spirit say, yes, I am.

And I said, what does that look like?

He said, we're going to do this.

I said, what is this?

He said, I'm going to give you every resource.

I'm going to give you every connection.

You are going to change the world.

You are going to help the world get healthy.

And so I walked away from a big life, you know, in 72 hours.

I gave away my company.

I contacted every client, said, don't call me, call this guy or this guy.

I'm out.

And that was the birth of stepping into health and wellness, which was pure entrepreneurship.

I didn't know how I was even going to make a penny, but I had conviction and belief I was going to change lives.

John, that's phenomenal.

There's a lot to uncover.

on that part of the story, man.

And thanks for the intro.

So

how old were you when you started first feeling it, man?

I feel like I got into my 30s.

I'm 37 right now, but I got into my early 30s and then I started feeling it.

The joints, the back, you know,

the overweight, man.

When did you just start feeling it at that time?

Yeah, well, again, because of,

you know, so much

super intense,

you know, most of it was, you know, the black top, basketball, you know, just grinding away.

You know, I mean, for sure in my 20s, I was already starting to, you know, have the crackling and popping.

And, you know, no, by the time I hit 30, I was Mr.

Rice Krispies, man.

I was snap crackling and popping.

Like you could hear me walk into a room.

You know, and man, that belly just sneaks up on you, man.

You know, one inches, two inches, three inches.

I mean, I literally lost 10 inches in my belly after I got healthy.

I didn't even realize.

You know, men, we have this picture in our mind, you know, you know, we hold up our gun and we think we look good.

And then we look down and realize, you know, I can't see my feet.

You know, what's wrong here?

I think that happens to everybody, man.

I mean, you know, I think all of us, we perceive ourselves as like, you know, we're like 21 and, you know, getting having that body and going to the gym and feeling that sometimes.

Right.

But then age just creeps up with you, man.

And I'm a big believer in health.

You know, last year when I was 36, man,

financially, it was one of the best years I ever had, but I lost myself, dude.

I gained 45 pounds, overweight.

If you guys were to see the copy of my book that it came out like three years ago, or I'm sorry, two years ago, dude, completely different person, right?

So I'm a big believer in the health journey.

Did you have like a mentor that basically you talked to or your father or a friend or your spouse at that time or a group of friends that were really health conscious that got you thinking about health?

Well, unfortunately, I never had a father.

My biological father actually took my mom as a teenage mother.

I was the second pregnancy.

He took me to be aborted.

Wow.

And so my mom ended up heroically jumping off an abortion table, running out, saved my life.

You know, thank God for my heroic mom.

But she became a single mom,

you know, that day.

So I never really had a father in my life.

And

so I was kind of a loner.

early in life.

Now I will quickly say, during that stage, I was a loner.

Now for the last 10 years of my life, I am a huge advocate.

I pay for mentorship.

You know, I find people that are where I want to be, that know what I don't need to know, and I will pay for expert advice and for mentorship and would advise anyone to do that.

It's one of the most powerful things I ever did was to submit myself to mentorship and value it and pay for it.

So what led you at, you know, around the age of 30 when you were like, hey, you know, around 30, I start getting this weight and you know my muscles or my joints hurt so what what was your thought process then like what made you say hey you know what I'm gonna start really looking and taking my health seriously no this is a this is a great question so for me I'll never forget it I I go into the back yard At that time, I had two sons.

I now have six sons and two girls, by the way.

Amazing.

But I had two sons.

I go in the backyard to throw the football with my boys.

And I'm throwing the football for about 15 minutes and I'm thinking man I you know I'm kind of feeling this it's like 15 minutes how old were your kids during that time no so my boys were at at that time they were nine and seven okay so they're nine and seven and now I'm in on the couch and I'm having this moment like this epiphany of oh my word am I going to be the couch potato dad yeah am I going to be the couch potato dad that can't even play with my kids for 15 minutes yeah

And then

it's like, I can't even, again, it's like sometimes it just takes something to smack us, you know, to wake us up.

And then I see this picture of myself.

And I'm thinking, someone has Photoshopped a picture of me and made me look like a fat guy.

Like they didn't even have the fat app back then, but I'm looking at this fat guy.

And I'm thinking, no, I look like this guy, right?

But it was like, no, I look like, you know, Mr.

you know, Pillsbury Doughboy.

Yeah.

But I'm looking at that thinking, oh my gosh, I feel horrible.

I look horrible.

I have to do something different because I want to have a legacy with my boys.

I want to be able to be an active participant in their life, not a spectator in pain.

I love that.

I love that.

So you had your aha moment when your kids were around seven to nine.

You know, you're sitting in the couch.

You look at yourself.

You're just like, dude, I lost myself.

So

that day, you go in there and what's the next steps, man?

What is the step?

Because there's a lot of men out there right now, right?

I'm about to be a father myself in three months.

My first time.

Congratulations.

Thank you, man.

Thank you.

But the fact that you had, you know, several kids, congrats for you, man.

And you look great.

You know, and I'm a big believer in health as wealth because what's the point of making money if you can't enjoy it, right?

So the fact that you took, you know, your children as, you know, your why to getting healthy, that's powerful, dude.

And I know there's a lot of people that are going to be watching this that are at that stage right now, right?

They're overweighting.

They're just like, dude, like, what are some simple steps that I could take?

So what was a couple steps that you took in order to get towards your health journey?

Well, here's the interesting thing.

And there's probably a lot of men and women that are listening to us.

They already took the steps.

You know, I'd already been trying for 10 years.

Okay, so you were trying at that moment?

So I was trying.

You know, I did the, you know, the keto.

You know, back then they didn't call it the keto diet.

They called it the Atkins diet it's the same thing you know it's a no carb low carb low sugar no sugar i mean i did all that stuff i did the run five miles a day i mean i tried 10 different things over 10 years wow and when i say i tried i mean i'm an intense guy i really tried but everything

failed everything failed so for a man especially a logical man who you know when you have a mathematical mind you're so logical you expect if i do this i'm going to get this outcome you're a planner and when that doesn't happen, it's so frustrating.

Of course.

And I'm just being for real.

Like, I didn't even want to try something again because I didn't want to fail again.

That feeling sucked.

That feeling was horrible.

And I didn't want to have that feeling again.

It's 4.07 a.m.

Birds are starting to chirp.

But thankfully, I felt such a,

you know, almost depression when I was, couldn't play with my boys.

Yeah.

Like that, like stabbed me in the heart as a man, as a dad.

And then I'm thinking, they're only nine and seven.

What's it going to be like when they're teenagers?

You know, you know, it's even worse.

Am I going to be the wheelchair dad?

What's happening here?

But that's when I decided, look, there has to be an answer.

There has to be something sustainable.

You know, God created us.

He's the manufacturer.

You know, like he has to have some way we can really get healthy and stay healthy.

And that's when I dove in and I'm looking at all these medical studies, you know, that they spent millions and tens of millions of dollars on.

And

it really was like a divine download.

I felt like the light bulbs were just going off of, oh, wait a minute, I get it.

If my cells are healthy, I'm 37 trillion cells.

If my cells are healthy, I'm going to be healthy.

Well, how do you make a cell healthy?

Oh, you have to hydrate it.

You've got to get the hydration inside the cell because the cell has two membranes stopping the water from getting in there.

So that's what nobody could figure out.

Nobody could figure out how do you make that membrane porous, you know, go from this to this.

How do you open it up so the hydration can get in?

And I didn't even know this at the time, but also what's trapped in those cells is inflammation.

That's what makes us have pain and toxins, which makes us feel bad.

Wow.

So they're all trapped in there like a glass marble.

you know so it's like you know we started healthy but then they became like glass marbles the inflammation is trapped.

The toxins are trapped.

No nutrient can really get in there.

And that's why we just start going downhill.

And John, just a follow-up question on that, because this is some good stuff, guys.

I know you guys are going to enjoy this.

But John, what causes the inflammation?

Oh, great question.

So inflammation is caused by multiple things.

Number one is just oxidative stress.

Wow.

So

everybody has it.

It's like if you take a banana and set it on your your counter and just leave it there, what happens?

It turns brown, right?

Yep.

That's a great word picture for everyone of just, no, oxidation happens to every banana, you know, and it happens to every human cell through life.

So we get oxidative stress.

And then when we have extra stressors in life, especially entrepreneurs, no one's more stressed out than an entrepreneur.

100%.

We got to pay the bills.

We got the payroll.

How are we going to get enough money in the door?

Well, that produces cortisol.

And cortisol cortisol is like a super glue hardener to the cell.

So the more stress we have and the more cortisol that's produced, again, that 10x is our poor health and it slows our metabolism down.

Wow.

Okay.

So everybody in America and the world suffers from this.

Okay.

How did you learn this?

Like, did you, at that stage of the game, was it just self-education?

How did you learn this knowledge?

So this was just, thank God, it was pure self-education.

Because if I would have just went by what everyone else was saying,

if I would have just went by that, I would have never gotten this download.

I really believe it's like a divine download.

Because I'm just going to say, no one is smart enough to know.

what I know.

I mean, I really believe God knew I would be faithful with the message.

So he gave it to somebody he knew that would really take it to the masses and take it to the people with a pure heart.

And it started with me, and little did I know, because I really thought I would always be in banking.

When you've had that level of success, you know, why would you leave?

Any logical man, right?

Why would you leave that type of a thing?

But this, I really believe, was like a divine calling.

And then, Over the years, it just continued to grow and to grow and to grow until finally, at this point, I probably had several hundred doctors, thousands of nurses, tens of thousands of success stories, you know, all documented.

People got off every medication you could name.

They all gained hydration.

They gained muscle.

They lost their subcutaneous and visceral fat.

But more importantly, they feel amazing.

People reverse aging.

I'm talking people on...

five, eight, ten, twelve medications getting off all their medication.

But doctors,

and I'm talking to really famous doctors, doctors like that you see on TV and Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic and, you know, super, they say this.

This is what they say.

This isn't my quote.

They say, you crack the code.

You crack the code.

You went to the root cause.

of pain and disease, which was inflammation, and you figured out how to get inflammation out of a cell, which gets it out of the human body.

Wow.

Well, let me ask you this, John.

Let's go from a beginner's beginner's point of view.

Okay.

I have a lot of viewers that watch this show.

Mainly it's for self-help, but we do bring phenomenal entrepreneurs like yourself.

Well, number one, just my perspective.

The reason why you went from banking to what you do now and what you did, you helped a lot of people, is God's plan, man.

Yeah.

I mean, 100%.

Like, it's just to make a pivot like that, you got to understand that's not normal.

It's not normal.

It's just like when I went from corporate sales for six years, from 21 to 26, and then all of a sudden I was just like, like, I want to be a cop.

And I want to be a cop in the most dangerous city in America, Oakland, California.

And people are like, what made you do that?

I just needed a change.

And then to become a cop to a full-time entrepreneur on top of that, right?

It just, it's weird, but it happens, right?

It's like you said, it's something unique that happens.

But it's the same thing with you, man.

You went from the banking.

Something in your life.

dramatically affected your decision making, which was your health, which is big.

It's huge.

And it pushed you towards that idea.

So now, from the beginner's point of view,

you transformed yourself.

And then from transforming yourself, how did you turn that into a multi-million dollar business?

No, great question.

So when I stepped out in faith to

make this leap, I had no idea.

Well, how will I monetize?

How will I make money?

And so there actually was

a gentleman who he had severe gout.

And my heart was so with this guy because he couldn't play with his kids.

And I said, that was me.

That was me.

I couldn't play with my kids.

Foundation right there, man.

Similar pain point.

He said, no, man, this gout puts me on the couch.

I can't play with my kids.

I said, hey, this will reverse your gout.

I said, it'll flush all those acidic things out of your bones.

You know, you're going to be good.

So he was my first.

paying client, you know, was a gout reversal.

Now, at this time, I was not even thinking about the fat loss side all I was thinking of getting people healthy it just so happened every single person that would do this protocol

whatever fat they needed to lose they lost it so if it was 30 pounds they lost 30 pounds of fat not weight by the way no one's losing any water or muscle interesting so this guy lost like 60 pounds of fat But it but of course I'm making a mental note like oh, that's interesting.

I just gave him a protocol to get rid of his gout, but he lost 60 pounds of fat.

You know, well, that's a cool side effect.

You know, that's a good,

very good.

And he gained about 12 pounds of solid muscle.

And so it just started snowballing into,

you know, one became two, became four, became eight, became 16.

It just kept growing, and it really was just word of mouth.

So it was just straight referrals.

It was straight referrals in the early days.

And this was back in California?

No,

this was in Brentwood, Franklin, Tennessee.

Got it.

So So Brentwood, Franklin, they butt up to each other.

And then fascinatingly, everything was word of mouth in the beginning.

Just one person telling another.

And then I got an invite to go on radio.

Now, who would think you could build a health and wellness program on the radio?

What year was this, brother?

This was...

This was

let me think here.

My oldest son was.

I just want to make sure I'm accurate on this.

Oh, you're fine.

Super talk 99.

Yeah, this was Super Talk 99.7.

And this was

probably,

this was like 1990.

This was

like 98, 2000.

Okay.

So 1998 to the early 2000s, the radio

talk show hosts or talk shows and stations, they're pretty big.

People are tuning in, man.

It's equivalent to what podcasts are now.

So, all right, you get your shot.

You get on a talk show or

what is it?

No, actually, what they did was they offered me a two-hour show on Sunday from 10 to 12 a.m., which in Tennessee is not a good time zone because everyone's in church in Tennessee.

Yeah.

But lo and behold, you know,

it just blew up.

It just blew up.

So it just became where, you know, it literally was, you know, a growth like an entrepreneur would just dream of.

It was my first week, 10,000, 20,000, 40,000, you know, it just kept multiplying.

And then I had to just figure out, as entrepreneurs, right, we got to figure it out.

Well, figure it out, buddy.

You know, how am I going to scale?

How am I going to scale this?

Because I had no business plan.

I didn't even have a website.

The first day I did my first show, I didn't even have a website.

That's what I'm talking about.

And some of my clients called me from California.

I was in Tennessee.

And they said, John, we're listening to your radio show.

We're building your website right now.

And I didn't have any money at that time.

I said, well, I don't have any money.

They go, no, you changed our life with this protocol.

They said, no, we're going to build this for you for free.

We'll manage it.

Don't worry about it.

Very cool.

So God just, he did that, right?

He gave me the resource in my hand like he promised me.

you know, walking out of this office.

And so here was the resource.

And so it scaled, you know, and then within one year, it was a multi-million dollar operation on the radio.

I love that, man.

I love that.

See, that's so inspiring because you think about it, right?

One day you're like, dude, I got my shot on the radio.

It's during church.

It's almost like a living belief.

Oh, it's not going to do anything because it's during a wrong time.

All of a sudden, the show happens.

And then within a year, you start getting referrals and starts growing and all that jazz.

The show, was it people call in, you answer their questions, or was it more just informational, sort of like what we're doing now?

Yes, yes, it was both.

Yeah, so people would call in and ask questions.

So I, and it was all live, by the way.

That's awesome.

It was all live.

It was a total live show.

So anyone that's never been on radio, there's no editing.

It's all live, man.

That's pretty cool.

So you better know what you're talking about.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You're on the spot, man, with tens of thousands of people listening to you or hundreds of thousands of people listening to you at that time.

So that happens, ends up being a multi-million dollar business off of the radio.

Then what happens next?

Yeah.

So, and actually, I got to make a correction here.

Sure.

So, yeah, I just realized.

Yeah.

That was the radio started.

Yeah.

So I started

17 years ago as a business.

The radio opened up in 2008.

Okay.

So 2008.

So a few years it rolled into multi-million.

Then I went to a live speaking.

So I would do live speaking events and we just started multiplying radio stations.

So we went to South Carolina, we went to Indianapolis, Indiana, and then I would go do a live event once a month in each one of those areas.

And again, in my live speaking, this just encouraged all entrepreneurs, like you don't have to have it all dialed in.

I had no slides.

I just stood in front of a room of 300 to 600 people at a time.

I love that.

And I just shared

from my heart.

And I would take questions from the audience.

And there'd be tough doctors in there trying to come in there to try to poke a hole in my science.

And of course, they'd become my client.

So over all these years,

all these doctors came to us because there were these miracle transformations where someone they were treating for 10, 20 years for thyroid, high blood pressure, diabetes, they reversed.

And then the doctor said, I got to call that guy.

I can't believe what happened to you.

So just being yourself, people essentially bought into you, man, because you have a remarkable story.

You know, you went from the banking industry, you, you did it for your kids, you transformed yourself, you transformed thousands of people, and then you were able to build a successful company, you were able to go on the radio, you were able to monetize the radio, you were able to monetize live events, and then you all did it just from because

you wanted to fix yourself for your kids.

Yeah.

Wow.

That's...

That's amazing.

Wow.

Well, and there's an amazing second chapter

that happened.

So what happens next?

Yeah, well, so

my wife, Chelsea, was a rock star.

She was a rock star business person.

And so

Chelsea had 15 years of success, interestingly, in banking.

She left that to go study cellular trauma.

Because she had a lot of healing to do herself because she had a very dramatic life like I did.

And we both were single before we got married.

Obviously everyone's single before they got married, but we both had a marriage that didn't work out.

And so I ended up, you know, raising five kids as a single dad.

And when you have five kids and I adopted two African-American sons, you will be single for a while because that's a lot of drama for a girl to take on.

A lot of kids, man.

Wouldn't change it for anything.

But when Chelsea and I Not only did we get married, we married our sciences.

Wow.

We married our scientists.

So it's a beautiful, amazing love story.

We really just talked on the phone for four months and then we just got married.

We really never dated.

I love that, dude.

We just got married.

So that was about seven years ago.

But when we married our sciences,

Energize Health went to a whole nother level.

And I really believe it's the power of two is 10x.

Yeah.

Right?

Two is 10x.

And that's a biblical principle, by the way.

It says one could put a thousand a flight, two could put 10,000.

But it was like when I joined my wife the company just went to a whole skyrocket another level so it you know it went up to the 10 million plus range when we came together and so i love to give my wife uh all the credit you know that

hey because she is a she is a superstar she's so fun she even makes science fun you know she makes science entertaining but that was the second chapter is when Chelsea came into the picture for Energize Health.

So at that time, you guys are together.

You guys go into business together.

The business grows even more.

And then what was the next stage of the game for you guys?

Well, look, I'd be remiss if I didn't share, right?

Every entrepreneur is going to go through the fiery furnace.

Of course.

You're going through the fiery furnace, make no mistake.

So what happens?

You step into this.

So my wife makes this giant leap of faith, closes down, you know, two successful businesses, comes to work with me, and we are a public speaking company, and COVID hits.

Oh my God.

No.

So 2020 happens.

Yeah.

So now here she just takes this giant leap of faith.

You know, we have a house in California, which is not cheap.

It's not cheap, man.

Expensive.

And look, and COVID hits and we're technically out of business.

We have no way.

to go to a live event.

We have no way.

We built our whole company on live speaking events.

And now we are completely shut down.

And we're trying to figure out how to pivot.

It's easy for people to say you got to pivot.

Well, what are you going to do?

You have to have something to execute and you need a real, a pivot plan.

So we had no pivot plan.

So here we went from this to

devastation.

We were devastated.

So we were.

We had to file for unemployment in California.

We're both on unemployment.

We're on food stamps.

Now in California, they give food stamps a cool name, Snap.

So we'd be shopping with our little snap card and praying, God, please let there be enough money for our groceries on this snap card.

So we went from having multi-millions to overnight.

No way to make money.

We're closing down offices right and left.

We had

as many as 15 offices all over the country.

Had to close our offices.

Nobody can even meet in person anymore.

You guys are stressing.

We are totally underwater.

My wife comes in one day and she goes, honey, there's more room in the driveway for the kids to play because her car got repossessed.

This is real entrepreneurship right here.

So when people want to hear the glory stuff, it's like, guess what?

Well, you need to hear the hard stuff too.

But guess what?

My wife never flinched.

I never flinched.

We just kept doing this.

Like, God, now what are we going to do?

Do it on Zoom.

Do it on Zoom.

Like, I never believed you could build a health and wellness company on Zoom.

And was it the same year?

Was it 2020 or was it more 2021?

You guys went through a year of going through this pain?

No, we went through a year of the total pain of we didn't know what we were going to do.

Wow.

And so we were just underwater.

Twice our house was deed in lieu of foreclosure, which means you're 14 days away from losing your home.

And we have three kids.

You know, we have three kids.

We have twin.

The boys are 11 now.

Ava's 14.

But we got three young kids at home.

Twice we're within 14 days of losing our home.

And I will tell a fun, a fun story because this will encourage people.

So right there, we're devastated.

You know, it's Christmas time.

You know, how are you going to buy stuff for the kids?

Hey, when you're an entrepreneur,

you don't have that steady paycheck coming in.

And so

we're just trusting the Lord.

And then someone invites me on a podcast on

New Year's Day at 10 a.m.

And I'm like, hey, I'll come on your podcast at New Year's Day at 10 a.m.

But I'm thinking, who's watching a podcast New Year's Day at 10 a.m.

We go on this podcast,

and it was a Jewish Christian podcast, but they want to know about health.

And we shared our protocol.

We made a million dollars.

Wow.

We made a million dollars of sales in 72 hours.

Wow.

And that got us over the hump, and we've been growing ever since.

Brother, that's amazing.

That's amazing.

So you go on this podcast, they add you on there.

They're like, hey, come out.

You're like, who's going to be listening to this pod

on a whim?

You guys, within 72 hours of going on that pod, releasing the show, you make a million dollars in sales.

Yeah, that's wonderful, dude.

That's just the way God works, man.

You know, He'll bless you in different ways.

Yeah.

So you were able to go ahead and now monetize that.

So now you guys went from doing live events by themselves, which basically was your strategy to market your guys's product, to pivoting to now doing virtual webinars?

Or what are you doing now in order to keep the momentum going?

Yeah, so interestingly,

and this is a little bit of a confession.

Yeah.

You know, our company has grown.

We've never had sales or marketing in the history of our company.

Now,

this is amazing this month that we're together.

We just hired our first ever sales and marketing people.

I love them.

Just now.

I love them.

So we'll see what happens with some sales and marketing.

but the beautiful thing is it really is you know God gets all the glory God gets all the credit I tell people who could build a company with no sales and no marketing yeah you know we've been Inc.

5,000 back-to-back award winners for one of the fastest growing companies there's 33 million companies in America and we back-to-back years have been one of the fastest growing only God you know only God could do that and my wife you know yeah

and so so now we pivoted to where we do get invited.

Like thank you for inviting us, by the way.

So when we get invited on these podcasts, on television shows as a health expert, it's amazing.

There's something about people,

I think because of all of the noise on the internet, people are much more intuitive now.

They kind of know the difference between a salesy, someone that's just trying to sell them, and someone that's authentic.

Of course.

And someone that's genuine.

And for whatever reason, people seem to know.

You know that John and Chelsea, those guys are the real deal.

They're authentic.

They're genuine.

I'm going to try that.

And it's been

tremendous.

Yeah, John.

I mean, we're definitely in the trust era in 2025.

You know, I think the gold rush of digital marketing and e-learning is definitely when 2020 hit, when everybody was inside, they started using Zoom.

Zoom became a multi-billion dollar company because of that.

And then a lot of people invested into different opportunities.

Some didn't work out.

Some did.

Some became multi-millionaires.

Others didn't.

But now in 2025, people are so used to being sold to because ads, right?

People start buying ads.

That in itself, it's a multi-billion dollar industry because of Zuckerberg.

And at the end of the day, it's just the way the world's going.

So, yes, people can tell when somebody's being authentic by their story and everything, but you've gone through it, man.

You have the social proof.

You lost the weight.

You've built the business.

You lost the business.

You almost foreclosed your home.

You have the kids, you have the wife, and you have the whole story in the transition, which is good.

So, let me ask you this: man, you brought two items with you.

Okay,

you got to tell me what the two items.

Well, I love to share this with people because, look, we have been lied to about weight loss.

Yes.

Now, 80% of the people watching us, 80%

internationally, are at least 30 pounds or more overweight.

Wow.

30 pounds or more.

Now, I'm going to share a quick study.

You won't hear this one quoted very often, but this is a real study.

You can go look it up.

The U.S.

government did a study years ago.

When I was growing up as a little boy, they had all these no-smoking commercials.

Stop smoking, stop smoking, stop smoking.

Then they did these two big studies.

And what they realized was, oh my word, it's not the smoking that's killing people.

It's the fat.

20 pounds of fat will kill you faster than two packs of cigarettes a day.

That's a medical fact.

Wow.

So think about it.

So I brought this.

This is, take a guess, guys, how much fat you think that is?

That has to be solid.

What,

five pounds?

Okay, that is five pounds of fat.

Now, most people will guess it like at 10.

They really do.

Yeah.

But look, think about it.

That's just five pounds of fat.

That's insane.

The average person is six of these.

Six.

Six of these.

Overweight.

six yeah and look you put that on your mouth yeah suffocate yourself

you put it on your liver your kidney your heart it will destroy your organ

so I like to show people this because look our average average woman loses three of these three

in 30 days

Come on girls, that's better than liposuction.

To lose that in a healthy way.

Now men lose six.

And I tell the girls, don't be haters, girls.

The men just lose it faster.

But the average man loses six.

Average woman loses three of these.

But look, the average American and international audience is six of those overweight.

But guys, there's a difference between weight loss

and fat loss.

When we do weight loss, and there's a new docuseries out about the biggest loser those guys were into weight loss wow do you know those people on the biggest loser lost like 60 pounds of water no way they lost like 30 pounds of muscle wow

and then they lost like 90 pounds of fat but half their weight loss was water and muscle which you don't want to lose that that's super unhealthy you'll never recover you'll never get back your metabolism and you can see it on this it's on netflix The New York Times did a story about the biggest loser and said all those people destroyed their metabolism for life.

Those people would have to undereat the rest of the world.

They all gained back their weight by the way.

It's a documented fact.

So if they lost 200, they gained back 230.

Wow.

They lost 150, they gained back 180 because they destroyed their metabolism.

So I like to teach people real science is no, you don't want to ever lose weight.

You only want to lose fat.

You want to gain your healthy lean muscle.

Just five pounds of lean muscle will eat up to 10 of these every year the rest of your life.

That's the power of lean muscle.

And that's what nobody wants to tell people.

They just want them to look at the scale and go, hey, you lost 20 pounds.

Be healthy.

So how could people

just focus on losing fat compared to losing fat, water, and muscle?

Well, the key is you have to focus on the intracellular.

And by intra, that's a scientific word.

Think of the word inner.

inner.

You've got to get the hydration inside the cell.

Because

I like to ask people simple questions and I'll ask you this and you can answer on behalf of our audience here what's the difference between a raisin and a grape

a raisin and a grape

say a grape holds water that's all it is hydration

so think of your heart you know do you want your heart to be shriveled up like a raisin no no

your thyroid your pancreas your your kidneys, your lungs, your brain.

Nobody wants the shriveled up raisin.

Your skin is an organ.

Yeah.

And so, so sometimes people think I look younger, you know, than I am.

And I say, hey, I'm just not a raisin.

Yeah.

I'm just not a raisin.

You know, I'm a grape.

And I'm happy to say, by the way, yeah, when

this is airing, I'm 65 years old.

Love it.

You know, 65 years old.

I'm a happy, I'm a happy grape of a senior citizen.

Yes.

Yes.

So, John, how can we hydrate our organs?

How can can we get the water inside the body to the point where we're not raisins?

Yeah, well,

and let me just clarify, it's not getting it in the body.

We're all getting more water in the body.

Come on, how many of you out there are drinking more water?

Yeah.

Everybody's drinking more water.

That just gets it in the body, but then it's going right through to the toilet.

We've got to get it inside the cell.

And this is what our patent is.

We filed, by the way.

So we filed the patent of a process to get the hydration inside the cell instead of inside the body.

I want to play with my kids.

I want to have a legacy.

And that is my legacy, by the way.

So even my twin 11-year-olds, you know, so I have kids from 35 to 11.

And my legacy with them is I play every sport.

I don't watch them play a sport.

And it's making a decision.

There's a scripture in the Bible.

Everybody's, you know, they probably have this thing on a, you know, one of those cute pictures at their house.

Your youth and strength will be renewed like an eagle.

Or some preacher maybe preached it in a sermon.

They thought, oh, that sounds so good.

Your youth and strength will be renewed like an eagle.

Well, what they don't tell them is, do you know what the process is?

An eagle has to, of its own free will, choose to go through a process.

So just like we, the first step is, are you willing to go through the renewal process to be at your optimal health at the cellular level?

Because it's a choice.

Just like an eagle has to choose, it will die at about 40 to 50 years old unless it chooses to do this.

It flies up to a high, high mountain where no predators are.

It finds a safe spot.

It rips its talons out of its feet.

Wow.

And now its feet are bleeding.

Then it rips all of its feathers, every feather, like a naked chicken at the grocery store.

Then it beats its beak against a rock and it's just laying there, completely helpless.

But little by little, the talons start to grow back.

The feathers start to grow back.

The beak starts to grow back.

When it grows back in, that eagle will live another 40 to 50 years.

Wow.

Because it went through the process.

And if we'll choose to go through the process, and I'll use another biblical principle,

You know, 3 John 2 says, beloved, I wish above all things, above going to church, above reading your Bible, above singing in the choir, being a volunteer.

No, above all things, that you be in health.

Because God knows we can't even fulfill our destiny as a father, as a mother, as an entrepreneur, as a...

a financier of the end time harvest if we don't have our health.

Wow.

That's powerful, man.

That's powerful.

So if, let's say somebody wanted to work with you, how would that look like?

Super simple.

All they have to do is they make that commitment.

They make that commitment.

Now, I'm going to go through this renewal process.

You know, we can teach them in 88 days.

That's a cellular cycle of the human body, how to be healthy for the rest of their life.

And we have tens of thousands of people that already did it.

28 years, not one medical doctor visit.

Wow.

You don't get sick when your cells are healthy.

I tell people, try to make a healthy cell sick.

Like when you spin your tires in the mud and you just keep getting worse and worse and worse and now all four tires are down in the mud.

I was stuck like that for 10 years.

I absolutely know how you feel and I totally felt the same way.

I did not want to fail one more time and maybe you feel like that too.

That is truly where I was.

I didn't want to fail one more time and it wasn't for my boys I would not have even made this last desperate attempt.

But I absolutely will promise you if if you'll do what I did if you'll do what tens of thousands of other had you can get unstuck.

You can have your best health for the rest of your life.

And I don't care if your doctor told you it's incurable, irreversible.

We have another saying at Energize Health.

We reverse the irreversible.

You can look on the front of my website, Dr.

He couldn't believe it.

But you can get unstuck.

And I share this with you just from a scientific standpoint, not to brag or anything.

So in 1997, I could chest press 200 pounds.

People make fun of me at the gym that I was even adding a little two and a half pound plates.

I didn't care what they said.

I'm not a weightlifter.

I'm a health guy.

But I wanted to see if this scripture was true.

So it went from 210 to 220.

Fast forward.

Guys, last year I set the world record for chest chess press as a senior citizen.

555 pounds, 14 reps.

Wow.

Yeah, 14 reps.

It's 12 plates.

It looks like a cartoon.

I wasn't trying to impress anybody.

I wasn't trying to do that.

You know, it just happened to be guys at my gym said it's a world record.

Came home.

My wife said, baby, that is a world record.

You should go do that.

And so then I did.

So I want to encourage you, I never dreamed.

If you feel stuck, are you kidding me?

It wasn't on my dream board, it wasn't on my vision board.

Hey, set a world record when you're a senior citizen.

No, it wasn't even a dream for me.

So, if you want to step into the possibility of having the best health you've ever had, the best strength, the best life, the best energy,

do something you've never done to have something you thought you'd never have.

I love that.
