Good Ranchers, American meat delivered. Today on the Bat Wall Show, the mass graves hoax in Canada officially comes to an end
as the Canadian government stops funding the search for the graves.
But of course, they still won't admit that the whole thing was a lie.
Also, the Attorney General promises that you'll start releasing the Epstein files as soon as today.
And Jake Tapper writes a book about the cover-up of Biden's mental decline.
But Jake Tapper forgets to mention that he was himself involved in the cover-up.
We'll talk about all that and more today on The Matt Wells Show. Have you checked lately to see if your home's title is still in your name? With one forged document, scammers can steal your home's title and its equity.

One of the easiest ways to tell that you're dealing with an honest person is seeing how they react when some of their most basic fundamental assumptions are proven to be completely wrong. A few weeks ago, for example, we talked about how some flat earthers responded when they went on a trip to Antarctica that debunked their entire belief system.
They sat there and watched 24 hours of sunlight and they realized that the earth has to be rotating in space. And to their credit, a few of these flat earthers admitted their mistake on camera.
And they said that from that moment forward, they would be whatever the opposite of a flat earther is, a sphere earther, I guess. On the other hand, malevolent liars who, you know, lie for a living will never admit that they're wrong, even when they're confronted with the reality of the situation, which is that everything they've been saying for years was actually wrong, they'll find some way to deny it.
They'll absolve themselves of any responsibility for their deception. And if they can, they'll blame you for challenging them.
These are people who are not interested in the truth. They have no integrity whatsoever, and therefore they have no business being in any position of power or authority.
Trustworthy leaders will admit their mistakes. Corrupt and incompetent leaders will obfuscate, deny, double down.
With that distinction in mind, recent events have made it abundantly clear that our neighbors to the north in Canada are ruled by the latter group of people. These people in charge of Canada have no interest in the truth.
They are driven entirely by an ideology that, it just so happens, is explicitly anti-Christian and anti-American. And as I'll explain in a moment, that has significant implications for the U.S.
as Canada becomes increasingly hostile towards our country. But before I get into those implications, I need to explain what exactly the Canadian government has just done.
As you may remember, for several years, we've talked about it on the show plenty of times, Canada's government, along with the country's state media, has been advancing an extraordinary claim as if it's the truth. They have said again and again that unmarked mass graves have been found at Canada's residential schools, which were boarding schools for Indian children that existed for about 100 years, peaking in the early 20th century.
And the discovery of these unmarked mass graves was significant, Canadians were told, because Christian churches were running these residential schools. In other words, for years, the dominant narrative in Canada has been that Christian schools were so horrific that Indian children died all the time or were systematically killed and then just tossed in unmarked graves when they expired.
Therefore, Canadians were told that Canada is a genocidal state and that Christianity is a genocidal religion. So predictably, dozens of
Christian churches were burned. And in response, the country's outgoing Prime Minister, Justin
Trudeau, said that the arson was understandable. They only made one arrest in the wake of those
arson attacks on the churches, by the way, some of which were within a few miles of the U.S. border.
The Canadians, for the most part, stopped celebrating their Independence Day out of
shame over this story. Canadian secondary schools put images like this one up on the wall.
You can see it there. As you can see, it tells students that nearly 2,000 unmarked graves have been found.
And this has been an all-out, all-encompassing narrative in Canada, that they even put it in their schools. But to be clear, this narrative about the residential schools was not simply pushed by Canadian state media.
In fact, the narrative actually had its origins in U.S. media, including in outlets that we know now were taking money from the Biden administration.
New York Times, for example, was one of the first outlets to report back in 2021 that unmarked graves had been discovered in Canada.
They did a whole series of reports on the topic over the summer, all of which were premised on the idea that ground-penetrating radar, quote-unquote, had discovered the evidence of these grave sites. And then 60 Minutes joined in with reports like this one.
Watch.
Last year, when archaeologists detected what they believed to be 200 unmarked graves at an old school in Canada, it brought new attention to one of the most shameful chapters of that nation's
history. Starting in the 1880s and for much of the 20th century, more than 150,000 children from
hundreds of indigenous communities across Canada were forcibly taken from their parents by the government and sent to what were called residential schools. Funded by the state and run by churches, they were designed to assimilate and Christianize indigenous children by ripping them from their parents, their culture, and their community.
Last year, archaeologists detected what they said could be 200 unmarked graves at this former school in Kamloops, British Columbia. Weeks later, a further 751 unmarked graves were detected across from the former Marivelle Residential School on the Cowess's Reserve in Saskatchewan.
There was once a Catholic cemetery here, but the headstones were bulldozed in the 1960s by a priest after a dispute with a former chief. So Anderson Cooper is very concerned about the hundreds of unmarked graves that have supposedly been discovered.
He specifically mentioned the hundreds of graves that were allegedly discovered at a residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. And Canada's state media said, you know, the CBC, for example, reported, quote, preliminary findings from a survey of the grounds of the former Kamloops Indian residential school have uncovered the remains of 215 children buried at the site.
Now, when you see television segments and news articles like this, you might assume naturally that some amount of vetting has been done to ensure that these claims are at least potentially accurate. If you're claiming that there are mass graves of children, I mean, these are obviously incendiary claims that are being made.
So presumably, you might think that somebody would have looked into them before publishing. But that was never true in this case.
More than three years later, not a single body has been found in any unmarked grave at any residential school anywhere in Canada. And they certainly haven't been uncovered in Kamloops.
It turns out that, in fact, the alleged unmarked grave site in Kamloops was, in reality, a 2,000-foot-long, long, three foot deep trench that was established in 1924 as a septic field to store sewage from the school. So the thing that Anderson Cooper was very, very solemnly talking about was a, it was a septic tank, basically, is what he was referring to.
As the Dorchester Review reported, quote, groundetrating radar cannot distinguish between a trench lined with clay tiles and a putative child's grave. Which means, by the way, that what actually happened is ground-penetrating radar saw something in the ground, and they just assumed that, oh, it must be hundreds of dead children.
It could have been anything. The only thing they knew was that there was something in the, there's a bunch of stuff in the ground.
And the assumption was, what else could it possibly be other than dead kids? Was the assumption. This is the kind of information that, if you're dealing with honest people, would lead to mass resignations and terminations for starters.
Obviously, nobody with any self-respect in the Canadian media or Canadian government should keep their job after spreading an anti-Christian lie that caused dozens of churches to go up in flames. But instead of admitting they were wrong, Canada's government is, of course, taking the dishonorable approach.
They are slowly slinking away like the cowards they are. The Daily Wire reports that, quote, Canada's pulling funds from groups still searching for alleged bodies buried at indigenous residential schools funded by Catholics and other Christians.
An organization and a committee of experts formed to search for the elusive remains have both lost funding in the past month following four years of searches that have found zero remains. We're talking about organizations that have received millions of dollars from Canada's massive $300 million residential schools missing children community support fund.
And these nonprofits have fancy names like Survivor Secretariat and the National Advisory Committee on Residential Schools, Missing Children, and Unmarked Burials. And now after collecting millions of dollars in taxpayer money and turning up nothing with all that money, they're finally getting cut off.
Because it turns out that the entire animating idea behind their non-profit was a scam. The Canadian government is now rolling back its financial investments in this deranged and destructive lie.
For all intents and purposes, the residential schools hoax is finally dead. Like, that's the headline here.
It's over. But that doesn't mean that the Canadian government is admitting outright that it was wrong.
That would take an ounce of integrity that they simply don't have. So instead, both political parties in Canada are now rallying around the idea that nobody should be able to question the narrative that they are now retreating from.
In other words, Canada has now entered a kind of reality distortion field where everybody knows the government was wrong for the last several years, but nobody can admit it. So this is footage from just a couple of days ago.
It aired on CBC. Watch.
A BC conservative MLA has refused her leader's request to take down a social media post that critics say amounts to residential school denialism. Attorney General critic Dallas Brody is facing backlash for posts on X that say, quote, the number of confirmed child burials at the former Kamloops Indian residential school is zero.
Brody, a lawyer, was coming to the defense of another lawyer, James Heller. Last year, he pushed the Law Society of BC to change its training material to say there were potentially burial sites at the former residential school in Kamloops instead of more definitive language.
Brody's conservative colleague, Alia Warbus, a member of the Stolo Nation, says on social media that questioning the narratives of people who lived and survived these atrocities is nothing but harmful and taking us backward in reconciliation.
Conservative leader John Rustad says he asked Brody to take down the post, but she's refused. The head of the Union of B.C.
Indian Chiefs says Brody's comments cause pain to residential school survivors and their children. I find such remarks to be absolutely disgusting, repugnant and ugly.
It's disgusting, repugnant, and ugly. It's disgusting, repugnant, and ugly to say something that is factually true.
The Post said there has been zero evidence has been uncovered of mass graves. That's true.
That is true. Zero evidence.
That's just a fact. And it is disgusting, repugnant, and ugly to just state a fact in Canada.
And those were conservative politicians in the clips we just played. That's Canada's Conservative Party, supposedly the opposition to the Liberals.
And as you just saw, they're telling this politician to retract her factually accurate statements about the fact that there were no unmarked grave sites in Canada uncovered. Nobody in that clip actually refutes anything she said.
Instead, they just tell her that it's inappropriate to state the truth about these unmarked graves because it contradicts the narrative they want to establish. I mean, they're directly saying that.
Yes, it's true, but it's harmful to the narrative, so it's ugly and repugnant for you to say it. As tempting as it may be to say that nothing in Canada affects us here in the U.S., the truth is that we can't ignore what's happening there.
And that's not just because of the cruelty that's been inflicted on Christian Canadians in recent years. That's because at the same moment that Canada is uniting behind malicious anti-Christian defamation, the country's leaders are desperately seeking to expand their power globally.
And in particular, some of Canada's most prominent politicians, like Chrystia Freeland, who could be the country's next prime minister, are openly suggesting that Canada should join a nuclear alliance to handle the threat that, in her view, is posed by the United States. Watch.
The U.S. is turning predator.
And so what Canada needs to do is work closely with our democratic allies, our military allies. I've been foreign minister.
I know how to do that. That's why I would start with our Nordic partners, specifically Denmark, which is also being threatened, and our European NATO allies.
I would be sure that France and Britain were there who possess nuclear weapons. And I would be working urgently with those partners to build a closer security relationship that guarantees our security in a time when the United States can be a threat.
A threat, yeah. Oh, Canada, Denmark, France, and Britain.
That's the Avengers, isn't it? There's a real Justice League for you that you got to worry about. I can't think of a less threatening combination of countries than those.
And this is the same woman who gleefully froze truckers' bank accounts when they committed the crime of peacefully protesting her government's unlawful COVID mandates. She cheered as journalists were arrested and elderly women were trampled with horses in Ottawa's downtown core as a result of her declaration of martial law.
She was one of the leading proponents of the mass graves hoax, and she's never apologized for any of that. Instead, now she wants to join Canada to join a hostile military alliance with foreign powers while she's contemplating the use of nuclear weapons against the United States.
That's what she just said. And at the moment, it's not a stretch to say that she could replace Justin Trudeau as the leader of Canada's liberal party, a party that, as we just saw, isn't much different from the Conservatives.
What this means is that while the conclusion of the Mass Graves hoax was anticlimactic at best, Canadian leaders actually see it as a springboard for more authoritarian crackdowns and more overt anti-Christian, anti-American hostility. Whatever credibility Canada had as a staunch American ally or a legitimately Christian nation is now completely gone.
Canadian leaders would
rather lie than admit the truth that everyone can clearly see. No country can survive for long when
it's committed to such a great extent to the denial of reality. And though they don't seem
interested in admitting it, that is the commitment that Canadian politicians have now made. Now let's get to our five headlines.

Yesterday, Attorney General Pam Bondi said that she would start releasing the Epstein files today. Let's watch that clip.
You said last week that you have the Epstein files on your desk. When can we see them and what's taking so long to release them? I do.
Jesse, there are well over, this will make you sick, 200 victims. 200.
So we have well over, over 250 actually. So we have to make sure that their identity is protected and their personal information but other than that I think tomorrow you know the personal information of victims other than that I think tomorrow Jesse breaking news right now you're going to see some Epstein information being released by my office.
What kind? Are we going to see who was on the flights? Are we going to see any evidence from what he recorded? Because he had all of his homes wired with recording devices. What you're going to see hopefully tomorrow is a lot of flight logs, a lot of a lot a lot of information but um it's it's pretty sick what that man did okay well along with his co-defendant absolutely and he had help that's for sure did so by the time you're listening to this the um the files might already be released i don't know at the moment we're filming they haven't been.
So not much I could say at the moment to give my analysis of whatever they're releasing because they haven't released yet. I will say, well, two things.
First of all, Pam Bondi says the concern is that they don't want to expose the names of any victims, which is valid. Of course, you don't want to do that.
So redact those names. Don't redact anything else, but redact the names of the victims.
I can see why it might take a little, you know, a little while, maybe a few weeks at most to go through all the material and make sure there's no sensitive information about the victims that's in the files. But once that's done, release it all.
There shouldn't be a single name, unless it's a victim. There shouldn't be a single name redacted.
There shouldn't be any information except for that related to victims left out. So just put it all out.
Let people see it. And the Biden administration, of course, never did that.
They had four years to go through it and make sure that the victims' names aren't exposed and then release it. And they just never did.
And that alone, I mean, there are many reasons why the Biden administration was a disaster, many reasons why Biden and his handlers were our evil, corrupt, rotten people, but this is all the reason that you really need, that they protected the Epstein client list, and they obviously protected it because a lot of their people are on it. Also, I'm glad that names are being released.
I hope the names are actually released. I hope that this is not an anticlimactic thing where we get something released and 95% of the document is redacted.
You can't read anything. We'll see.
I hope we get everything. But simply releasing the names is not enough.
We need these people to be prosecuted. We need to see rich, famous people who are on the list in handcuffs.
Because if they release a bunch of names of people and then nothing happens to those people, there are no consequences. Then all we've really accomplished by releasing the names is just kind of rubbing in our faces the fact that there's this two-tier justice system.
So I don't want to just know the names, shaming them and making fun of them on X because they're on the Epstein flight log. That's not enough.
We don't want just that. they need to be prosecuted.
And it's outrageous, obviously, that nobody, nobody, nobody has been prosecuted related to Epstein. Epstein was a global pimp who apparently had no clients because no one has been prosecuted, which is amazing.
So I get all the questions people are asking for the release of the names, but the follow-up question should be, okay, well, once you've gone through all the names, when are the prosecutions starting? And we've talked a lot about the federal workers who are in a state of panic over the email, asking them to list what they did last week. But here's one federal worker who called into the Breakfast Club radio show yesterday with actually a very different and refreshing attitude.
Let's watch. I got the email, and I honestly feel like this is a great opportunity to outline what you as an employee bring to the company, you know, bring to the federal government.
And if it's really good what you outline, they could give you an opportunity to get a promotion or something.
Like, God forbid, they ask you what you've done.
Any other job, they'll ask you at the end of the week, at the end of the month.
Because I used to do bookkeeping.
Okay, so what do we do, you know, at the end of the month month what are the clients that we have to you know gear towards to so at the end of the day god forbid anybody make any and it's just democratic thing it's like i don't want to get the parties into it but they don't want to go to work they want to work from home people are not working from You know, this is what you signed up for. If you don't like
it, resign. You know
what I'm saying? They give you the opportunity to
find another job. I mean, it's not that
hard. You're complaining about actually
working. I don't get it.
I'm not
mad at your perspective. That's why I like
talking to people. I like talking to people and I like talking
to people who are in it because everybody
sees things a different way. I haven't heard
this perspective. Do you feel like there are a lot of people that are not working, that are taking days off? I guess exactly what Trump is saying.
Absolutely, absolutely. I worked for home, and do you know what? Donald Trump got the galley idea.
A little bit of common sense from a government employee, and that is the correct attitude. Rather than crying hysterically over an email asking you what you've done,
you could look at it as an opportunity.
This is your chance to highlight your achievements
to your supervisors, your superiors.
It's a huge opportunity
because during a normal workday,
you probably don't have a chance to go up to your boss
and just kind of list all the things you've achieved.
It's a hard thing to work into conversation organically,
but here they're asking you to brag about your productivity.
So if you're a man who's a man who's a man who's a man who's a. It's a hard thing to work in the conversation organically, but here they're asking you to brag about your productivity.
So if it were me, I'd say five, I'll give you 15. And then I'd list 10 things I plan to do next week.
But of course, if your job is totally useless and you do nothing all day, then the email is less of an opportunity and more of a threat. Even though, although even in that case, if you're a little creative, if you're a little clever, you should still be able to come up with a list.
That's what's amazing. You know, these government employees complaining about the email, they obviously, obviously they're useless and they don't do anything all day.
And on top of that, they're not even good BS artists. Like if you're going to have a pointless job, which plenty of people do in government and even outside of government there, but you should at least be skilled at BS at a minimum.
It's not that hard to come up with a list of five things you did when in fact you didn't do anything, especially in government, in a bureaucratic environment, that should be really easy to do. You just have to have a lot of, you know, you just, you have to know the workplace jargon and use a lot of words like streamlined and collaborated and facilitated and just put that into a list.
So for example, if I'm a useless bureaucrat, I need to list five things I've done this week, even though I haven't done anything. I've done absolutely nothing, but they're asking me for five things.
Okay, well, number one, I streamlined collaborations to facilitate team building. That's the first thing that I did.
What does that mean?
Nothing.
It doesn't mean anything, but it sounds like it sort of means something. Number two, I strategized methods to improve workflow.
Three, I conceived more efficient resource allocation to boost productivity.
What does that mean?
I spent time engaged in strategic discussions in order to better align individual goals with the goals of the team.
So that's four. I optimized collaborations and I identified opportunities for growth.
That's five. That's five things right there.
That's five things. And nobody can prove I
didn't do those things. I strategized, I conceived, I optimized.
I was optimizing all week. Every second of the day, I'm optimizing.
If anybody comes up and just asks me, what are you doing right now? Oh, I'm optimizing. I am optimizing right now as we speak.
So it should be pretty easy to do. And you have to be good at that kind of BS to be in the working world.
But the theme here is that these government workers want to be insulated from the realities of the working world. And here's another example of that.
There's this unintentionally funny tweet from a guy named Dr. Joseph Ford Cotto.
And he tweeted this, USAID fire staff gives 15 minutes to grab stuff. Headquarters shuddered.
Did you vote for this? Well, number one, yes. Yes, I did.
Like that's exactly what we voted for. Yeah, precisely.
That to a T. Yes.
But also this is very normal. That's how it works when you're fired.
So when it comes to government workers, we hear, oh, they were fired. They only had 15 minutes to just get their stuff and leave.
What do you think being fired means? That's what it means. Get your crap and get out of here.
You're fired. I've been fired before.
In fact, I didn't even get 15 minutes. I was fired once.
And from the time when I was, like, when they told me I was fired to the time that I was in the parking lot getting in my car was like three minutes. It was just, you're done.
We don't want you. Goodbye.
That's how it goes. But these government workers want to be insulated from all that, clearly.
All right, here's a completely horrifying story from the Postmillennial. A transgender Canadian man accused of stabbing his children has been released from custody pending trial.
Alice Michael Joseph Atwood of Alberta was arrested on February 19th for allegedly attacking his two children with a sharp knife, slashing the esophagus of his eight-year-old daughter and injuring his seven-year-old son. The two kids survived the attack.
His younger daughter remains recovering in the hospital and needs a feeding tube. Atwood's family petitioned the court asking him to be involuntarily held in a psychiatric facility.
The family's request was granted. However, records show that Atwood was released from the ward on February 25th.
His family is now concerned for the safety of his children and of the public. Redux reported that Atwood, who uses they, them pronouns, has been posting about the attack on social media, including an admission of guilt.
Atwood wrote in a Facebook post, quote, for obvious reasons, I'm going to sit and stay silent on the locally viral rumors going around. I understand people's upset.
Trust it's not as high as my own. And I'm going to answer for what I did.
When I can see the picture more clearly, then I'll be here to hold myself
accountable. It's just not the right time for that.
I need to focus on my mental health and
finding the why to this happening, which means not being online. He continued, I'm very apologetic
and hurt. Trust that.
This was nowhere near my 2025 bingo card. Oh my.
This is a guy talking about stabbing his children and he's out now. He's not being locked up anywhere.
And he's posting on Facebook saying, hey, look, I hold myself accountable. Man, this wasn't on my 2025 bingo card.
Stabbing his children was not on his 20. By the way, here are the pictures of this guy.
Let's put him up on there just so you see what he looks like. So you can see the pictures of the guy there and so kind of exactly what you expect him to look like.
And again, this is a story of a dangerous predator, allegedly, who somehow, I mean, I guess we have to say allegedly because he hasn't been convicted of anything, but he confessed. So he's posting about it on Facebook, so, you know, whatever.
But somehow has been released from prison, confessed to stabbing his own children, yet he's currently walking free. Which, like, how is that possible? And this is in Canada, but as we know, we have the exact same kind of insanity in this country.
This is a Western problem. A problem all across Western society.
We don't keep dangerous people in prison where they belong. And this shouldn't be too much to ask.
It really shouldn't be. Lock dangerous people up.
Keep them locked up. If somebody stabs a child, he should simply never see the outside of a prison ever again.
From the moment he's arrested until they cart his dead body out to bury him in a prison cemetery, whenever that happens, he should just never see the outside of a prison. It's pretty easy, or it should be.
But also, this is another example of transviolence, which has reached epidemic levels. And we will never know the full extent of it.
The media isn't reporting on the epidemic of transviolence. No agency or organization is keeping official records of it, as far as I know.
In fact, it's the opposite in both cases. There's an effort to cover up this data rather than report it.
But it's clear that this is happening all over the place. And sadly, when a trans-identified man attacks his children, it's not a surprise.
Because this is a man who has already tried to force his kids to take part in his gender fantasies, which is a form of abuse. And when the psychological and emotional abuse turns physical, it's not a surprise.
And in fact, we can expect a lot more of this kind of thing because trans activists, they know, they've been coddled and catered to for years. They've been told that anyone who
doesn't participate in their charade, anyone who doesn't affirm their self-identity is a physical
threat to them. They've been told that there's a genocide happening against them.
They've been told
that somebody who disagrees with transgenderism, who rejects trans ideology is killing trans people. that to disagree with it is to kill trans people.
That's what they've been told. I mean, this is what trans activists have been saying for years, and it's also what the culture has been saying back to them.
So the stage has been set for exactly the explosion of violence that we're currently seeing. And it will only get worse as trans activists continue to lose in the culture war.
They're only going to become more desperate and more dangerous. Speaking of which, on the same topic, I'm going to read this article from ABC News, and then we'll get to the big twist ending.
A woman in Colorado has been arrested after police caught her with explosives at a Tesla dealership, according to police. The 40-year-old suspect, Lucy Grace Nelson, was arrested on Monday after the Loveland Police Department launched an extensive investigation on January 29th following a series of vandalizations with incendiary devices at the Tesla dealership in Loveland, Colorado.
Loveland Police Department said, quote, on Monday evening, Nelson returned to Loveland Tesla while in possession of additional incendiary devices, along with materials attributed to vandalism, and detectives apprehended Nelson prior to further damage occurring. So, if you're ready for the big twist, it's that, of course, the woman they're referring to appears to be suspiciously, looks suspiciously not like a woman at all.
And indeed, Andy Ngo reports that this is, in fact, a man. This is a rabid left-wing activist who identifies as a woman, except that every news article on this, and I skim through five or six of them, they all just report him as a woman, not even a trans woman, quote unquote, just a woman.
And so the point is, number one, this is part of the epidemic of trans violence. But number two, this is one of the ways that they cover up the epidemic of trans violence.
It's pretty easy for them to do. They just lie about who these people are.
Like this crime of a deranged, violent trans terrorist wanting to attack a Tesla dealership, this will not go down in the record books, either in the official records, in the court records, or in the media as a trans-related violent episode, because they're just reporting him as a woman. That's it.
So I guess the epidemic of trans violence has actually become an epidemic of woman violence. So when you look at the records, we're going to find that women have become strangely much more violent in recent years.
and it's because anytime a trans-identified male
commits an act of violence
they're just called a female, which is totally absurd, obviously. Let's get to the comment section.
If you're a man, it's required that you grow a beard. We're the sweet baby gang.
Freedom runs deep in our nation's DNA. It started when we stood up to unfair British taxes and their overpriced tea.

As a prison officer of 20 years, thank you so much for bringing up what I believe is a Western society problem in corrections. Officers being able to deal with problem inmates in an effective way continues to diminish as they, the criminals, get more protections.
For every criminal, there's a victim. Who's protecting them? Well, you don't have to thank me for anything.
I mean, you're the one going into that environment every day. And that's why I have a ton of respect for corrections officers.
Like I said yesterday, it's a dangerous and really quite bleak job in many ways, I imagine. But it's also absolutely essential for any civilized society.
You know, it's the kind of thing, it's one of those jobs that if society collapses and there's some great apocalypse and the survivors wake up the next morning and have to rebuild society, there are a few jobs that you kind of need to assign on the first day. And unfortunately, on the first day, yeah, you got to figure out what are you going to do with criminals and who's going to guard them.
So it's one of those jobs.
This is like a day one in society kind of job we have to fill. Podcaster is, that's a day two.
Day two, early morning day two, actually, we wake up. We got to figure out the podcasters.
But you're on day one. So, and you would think if we have jobs that are that crucial to civilized society that the law would be determined to protect the people in those jobs, but that doesn't appear to be happening.
In New York, there is no solitary confinement. They have other inmates right on either side of them.
They're certainly not in a dark hole somewhere.
In SHU, Special Housing Unit,
a.k.a. what people are calling solitary confinement,
they get programming, yard and all-day phones. It's hardly a punishment.
Prisons in New York are more about the inmates and their comfort. Well, that's insane.
I mean, this is what happens when you lose the concept of punishment. Prison is supposed to be, first foremost a punishment.
It is not first and foremost about rehabilitation, or it shouldn't be. It's not even first and foremost about segregating dangerous people from the rest of society.
That is an important function of it, but actually the number one role that a prison is supposed to fill is punishing people who have done evil, terrible things. The ring's power was so great that it corrupted a hobbit.
The whole reason he had the ring was because hobbits don't have greed and desire for power in them like dwarves or elves or men. And Frodo's grace and kindness to Gollum was a salvation from himself in the end.
If they turned away or killed him, like Sam suggested, all would have been lost. Okay, yeah, I know, I get it.
I get all that. But still, he b*****ed and moaned the whole time, Frodo.
He did not carry the burden of the ring with manly dignity at all. And then he tried to turn back at the last moment.
So I'm just saying, I think at most we need one scene of him being thanked. We don't need 10 scenes.
That was my whole point. I admire Matt's courage for standing up to the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Thought Police.
I wish I was brave enough to say those things publicly. What an inspiration.
Well, look, the line of nerds who hate me is so long at this point that it really doesn't matter if we add some more to it. We might as well just add, we can add the Lord of the Rings nerds too.
It doesn't matter. Just get in line.
Get in line, okay? Doesn't matter. Frodo and Sam didn't use the eagles to go to Mordor because, one, flying Nazgul.
Two, Sauron has a giant all-seeing eye that could spot them from 1,000 miles away.
Three, the whole quest was a Hail Mary, and they knew their one slim chance lay in secrecy.
Flying giant eagles to Mount Doom is the opposite of that.
Isn't it Mount, isn't it Mordor?
Is it Mount, oh, Mount Doom is in Mordor? It's not Mount Mordor. Anyway.
Isn't Mount Doom like a Marvel thing? Or no, that's Doctor Doom. Doctor Doom and Mount Doom are two different things.
Does Doctor Doom live in Mount Doom? Probably not. Four, we needed the eagles to demolish the chiefs.
Well, that a good point In terms of the army of the dead One, Aragorn gave them his word that he'd release them And like an honorable man, he did Two, they were hundreds of miles from them at the start of the journey Aragorn was the only one who could command them And he hadn't accepted his role as king yet None of this is book exclusive It's all right there in the movie. Yeah, I know.
I've heard all these excuses. I've heard them.
And by the way, I like the movies. I actually do like them.
This is me liking a movie. This is what? Tearing a movie apart is what I do when I like it.
But I don't buy it. I still don't buy the excuse.
And you're giving me the party line. I know that.
I'm not convinced. I don't know what to tell you.
I'm just not convinced. First of all, Sauron's eye is all-seeing, you say.
Apparently, it's not all-seeing because he didn't see them. He did not see them.
They strolled right up to Mount Doom, and he didn't notice. His all-seeing eye was distracted by a squirrel or something, apparently, because he didn't see these two.
You got Frodo waddling slowly for months, hundreds of miles, and was not spotted. So if Sauron can't see that, then why would he see Frodo on an eagle? You know, I mean, the eagles are flying around all the time, right? They're part of this world.
So is Sauron constantly tracking the eagles everywhere they're going? No, he's not. He's clearly not.
So he could have gotten one of those eagles, ducked down, he's small. nobody would have known.
So, and what about the other,
what about in the other movie when the other hobbits teamed up with the tree people, the big tree dudes, to go kill the other evil wizard? Okay, they're talking to giant, slow, lumbering trees, and Sauron didn't see that. He should have been able to spot that coming from 100 miles away and let the other evil wizard know that, hey, the big tree people are coming, they're going to try to attack you.
He didn't tell them. So I just don't buy it.
And by the way, here's another problem I have, and this has always bothered me. Why is there a big staircase and an entrance leading right up to Mount Doom with a pathway to go right into the volcano and throw the ring in? If you watch the movie, there's, because they have to go to the volcano to throw the ring in, and then they get to the volcano, and what do you know, really conveniently, somebody has installed a staircase up the mountain, and there's a giant entrance with a sign that says, go this way to throw the ring in.
And then they walk in, there's this big pathway built into the inside of the volcano where he could just walk down, and then there's a convenient little spot where he can throw the ring in. Why did he install that? Why did Sauron install all that stuff? He could have just closed the entrance up, shut the door, take down the staircase, and then Frodo would have got to the volcano.
He's like, what can I do? I can't, you know, I don't have access to the volcano now. So that bothers me.
It bothers me a lot. It bothers me.
And the ghost soldiers, I don't buy your excuse to that either, because why wasn't Aragorn's very first move to just go straight to the ghost soldiers and recruit them? That's what I'm saying. Yeah, you're saying they're hundreds of miles away.
Fine. But here's me, okay? If a wizard comes to me and says, oh, we got this ring, we got to destroy it.
But it was going to take a while to destroy it. And along the way, we're going to get attacked by a bunch of bad guys and orcs and stuff.
If I knew about the ghost soldiers, I would say, oh, wait a second. So there's, let's, why don't we go grab the invincible ghost soldiers first? You know, the ghost soldiers that can kill everyone and never die or be harmed, that can kill everyone instantly.
Let's go get them on board first. That should be our first stop.
Let's go grab those guys and have them go just kill all the orcs, and then we'll go take care of the ring. Problem solved.
Okay, much more efficient. Matt's take on Lord of the Rings makes me feel like the people of Rohan before the Fellowship arrives.
I know, I get it. And reading all these people defend Lord of the
Rings makes me feel like Bilbo right before Dumbledore shows up and tells Luke Skywalker that
Thank you. This is one you don't want to miss.

There were credible reports last night, specifically from the veteran political journalist Mark Halperin, that a CNN anchor by the name of Jake Tapper has been busy doing something he's notorious for doing, which is angrily DMing people who bothered him in some way. Apparently, Jake Tapper has been on a warpath lately.
Nobody on X is safe. I have no way of verifying these reports myself because strangely enough, Tapper did not DM me last night.
He didn't berate me in any way, so I really can't comment based on any personal experience. But it's quite possible that after this segment, maybe Tapper will slide into my DMs too.
And that's because after much consideration, I have to join in with pretty much everyone else on the internet and indeed everyone else in the world and relentlessly mock Jake Tapper for utterly humiliating himself as well as the alleged news network that employs him. Of course, at this point, we're all used to brazen lying and hypocrisy from CNN employees.
That comes with the territory. These are people who told us that Russian collusion was real, that Nick Sandman was a racist, that Joe Rogan took horse medicine, that Hunter Biden's laptop was fake, that George Floyd didn't die of a fentanyl overdose, on and on and on.
So it takes a lot, given CNN's illustrious reputation for flagrantly lying, to somehow degrade the reputation of the company even further than it's already been degraded. But somehow this week, against all odds, Tapper has accomplished just that.
Here's the moment that I'm talking about.
Within an inexplicable tone of pride in his voice, Jake Tapper just announced that
you can pre-order his new book, which is all about the cover-up of Joe Biden's cognitive decline
ahead of the 2024 election.
Tapper co-wrote the book with a reporter for the left-wing propaganda outfit known as Axios. So it's a real meeting of the minds, you might say.
And as you can tell from this promo, Jake Tapper wants to make it very clear that he had nothing to do with the cover-up that he's reporting on. He implies that he had absolutely no role in hiding the fact that Biden's brain had transformed into applesauce.
Watch. I want to tell you about a journalistic project I've been working on.
It's a book to be published on May 20th by Penguin Press, which you can preorder right now. It's called Original Sin, President Biden's Decline, its cover up and his disastrous choice to run again.
As viewers of The Lead know, I've been covering the concerns about President Biden's age and health for years.
I literally asked him about it in October 2022, and we've challenged Democrats and White House officials about it. But Alex Thompson of Axios and I have spent the last several months talking to more than 200 insiders and officials and donors and activists, more willing to talk post-election, of course, to explain the last couple of years in politics
and how we as a nation got here with never before heard stories from behind the scenes. You will not believe what was really going on.
You can pre-order the book at OriginalsinBook.com. OriginalsinBook.com.
So Tapper mentions that back in October of 2022, he asked Biden directly about his cognitive decline. Actually, he says he literally asked Biden.
He literally asked him. Oh, you did, Jake? You literally asked him? So you didn't figuratively ask him or metaphorically ask him? You didn't draw him a picture with the question? You literally asked him, thanks for clarifying that it was a literal question.
But he asked one question several years ago. So that's supposed to lend him credibility on the topic.
You're meant to conclude that Jake Tapper isn't involved in the coverup based on this piece of information. But just for fun, I went and pulled up the October 2022 interview between Tapper and Joe Biden.
And here's how Tapper confronted Biden about his cognitive decline. Here's how he literally asked him.
This is the big moment he's referring to in that promo. And this is one question at the tail end of a 15-minute interview.
And here it is. You're about to turn 80 next month.
Happy birthday ahead of time. Whenever anyone raises concerns about your age, the oldest president in the history of the United States, you always say, watch me.
Voters have been watching you. Democratic voters approve of the job you're doing.
Democratic voters overwhelmingly like you. But one poll shows that almost two-thirds of Democratic voters want a new nominee in 2024.
And the top reason they gave was your age. So what's your message to Democrats who like you, who like what you've done, but are concerned about your age and the demands of the job? Well, they're concerned about whether or not I can get anything done.
Look what I've gotten done. Name me a president in recent history that's gotten as much done as I have in the first two years.
Yes, Jake Tapper says, happy birthday. And then he tells Biden that Democrats approve of the job he's doing.
He also tells Biden they overwhelmingly like him. And then he says that, according to one poll, voters want a new nominee.
And he gives Biden the opportunity to respond to that poll. In other words, Tapper offered Biden the easiest softball question he could possibly ask in response to an issue that he couldn't possibly ignore under the circumstances.
He had to ask at least something, and so that's what he did. He didn't directly bring up Biden's cognitive disability at all.
Instead, he gave Biden the opportunity to diffuse the criticism about the fact that he's senile by teeing up a talking point. This is how Tapper supposedly demonstrates that he's not a part of the cover-up about Joe Biden's age.
This is how he demonstrates that he's on the side of objectivity when it comes to this topic. Unfortunately, for the image that Tapper wanted to create, at one point in this interview, Biden dropped his cheat sheet with his talking points and Tapper handed it back to him.
Watch. Economically and politically, we still have real problems, but look what we got done.
We passed so much legislation that significantly makes a point about, you know, for example, the American Rescue Plan. Now, that was an interesting opportunity.
Would have been very interesting if Jake Tapper had thought to ask what was on that paper, or why Biden needed it. But apparently that didn't cross his mind during this thorough assessment of Biden's cognitive abilities.
Now, if you didn't pull up any of this footage from 2022, you might take Tapper at his word. You might think that he was tough on Biden and maintained his journalistic objectivity the whole time.
But it actually gets a lot worse for Tapper. That's because back in 2020, as you may have seen, Jake Tapper interviewed Laura Trump about her criticisms of Joe Biden.
And throughout the interview, he repeatedly interrupted her and scoffed at her constantly.
In fact, was offended by the suggestion that Biden was cognitively impaired.
And most notably, he kept insisting that Biden has a stutter, which is apparently supposed to
explain why he can't speak or think clearly. This is footage that apparently launched a million
angry tapper DMs last night. This is what he was so upset about.
Here it is. Every time he comes on stage or they turn to him, I'm like, Joe, can you get it out? Let's get the words out, Joe.
You kind of feel bad for him. How do you think it makes little kids with stutters feel when they see you make a comment like that? First and foremost, I had no idea that Joe Biden ever suffered from a stutter.
I think what we see on stage with Joe Biden, Jake, is very clearly a cognitive decline. That's what I'm referring to.
It makes me uncomfortable to watch somebody on stage search for questions. It's so amazing to me that.
And try and figure out an answer. A cognitive decline.
Well, when you're trying to tell me that what I was suggesting was a stuttering... I think that you were mocking his stutter.
I had no idea, Joe Biden. Yeah, I think you were mocking his stutter, and I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody's cognitive decline.
I would think that somebody in the Trump family would be more sensitive to people who do not have medical licenses diagnosing politicians from afar. Plenty of people have diagnosed your father from afar, and I'm sure it offends you, your father-in-law from afar.
I'm sure it offends you. You don't have any standing to say- I'm not diagnosing him.
What I'm saying, Jake, is that we can clearly see that Joe Biden is struggling a few times on stage. And it's very concerning to a lot of people that this could be the leader of the free world.
That is all I'm saying. I genuinely feel sorry for Joe Biden.
I appreciate it. Yeah, how does it make children feel? How does it make children feel when you make all the, how do you think it makes a senile child feel when you make fun of senility? Think about that senile four-year-old and how that child must feel when you're making fun of the 82-year-old senile president.
Now, even if you ignore everything he's saying in that clip, even if you have no idea that Biden is clearly demented, you can tell from his demeanor that he's being dishonest. It's actually remarkable how obvious he is about it.
He won't let her finish a sentence. He launches into a whole diatribe that is taking place at the same time as Laura Trump is trying to answer a question.
And he's just sarcastic the entire time. And then he starts talking about standing as if we're in a court of law and Laura Trump can't bring a complaint against Biden for some unknown reason.
Of course, the idea that Biden was suffering from a stutter overlooks the fact that when people have stutters, it doesn't mean they're demented. They're still able to form coherent thoughts, which Biden could not.
Additionally, any theory that Biden had a stutter could easily be cross-checked by pulling up any of the 10,000 videos of him throughout his career over the past several decades. You can compare how he spoke before versus how he speaks now.
But Tapper didn't bother to do any of that, of course, because he was complicit in the cover-up that he's now writing about. So this book is self-serving and dishonest propaganda, and nobody should read it.
After all, if he's willing to lie about his own involvement in the cover-up, there's no reason to think that Tapper will be honest about, say, the involvement of Mark Milley in covering up Biden's decline. This is the guy who famously said he'd tip off China about any U.S.
military actions that might affect them. And he repeatedly vouched for Joe Biden's mental capacity during the campaign.
Watch. President Joe Biden has been portrayed by his political opponents and even some of his allies as too old to be president.
I'm not asking for your political opinion here, but how does he seem to you? Look, I'm not gonna comment. I didn't comment on the former president's mental health, physical health, and I'm not gonna comment on the current president's mental health or physical health.
I think that's highly inappropriate for the senior officer of the United States military to do that. I would just tell you that I meet frequently with the president and every single time I meet with him, he is just fine.
How people interpret that is up to them, but I engage with him frequently and alert, sound, does his homework, reads the papers, reads all the read ahead material, and is very, very engaging in issues of very serious matters of war and peace and life and death. So if the American people are worried about an individual who is, you know, someone who's making decisions of war and peace and has access to, you know, makes the decisions of nuclear weapons and that sort of thing, I think they can rest easy.
It'd be very inappropriate for me to comment on this, which is why I'm going to proceed to comment on it, is what we just heard from Mark Milley. Sounds a bit suspicious.
Milley says that every time he spoke to Biden, he acted like he read the newspapers and had some idea of what was going on in the world. It may seem like kind of a low bar for the president of the United States to clear, saying that he's fine.
Yeah, when I talked to him, he's fine. Fine? I don't know.
I kind of want the president to be more than just, yeah, he seems fine. Yeah, it may seem like the kind of response that would merit a few follow-up questions, but to 60 Minutes and to Jake Tapper and Mark Milley, it was a perfectly convincing response.
Joe Biden kind of seems to know what's going on. He seems fine.
What more do you need to know? Perhaps in his comprehensive book with the Axios reporter, Jake Tapper will expose Mark Milley's role in covering up Biden's dementia, or maybe Tapper will overlook it because Milley is now a useful figure to the Democrats' resistance agenda. The truth is, I'll never know because like everyone else in America, I'm not going to pre-order this book.
I'm never going to read it. There's a version of the book that I would read, though.
After all, Tapper knows a lot about the cover-up of Biden's mental decline because he was in on the cover-up. He was, in fact, one of the people leading the charge.
If this book was a confession, if it was Tapper coming clean and being honest for the first time in his career, I might be interested in it. But instead, the book about the cover-up is itself
a part of the cover-up. And that is why Jake Tapper and his new book are today canceled.
That'll do it for the show today. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for listening. Talk to you
tomorrow. Have a great day.
Godspeed.
