Speaker 13 Descendants.

Speaker 13 Chapter 10:

Speaker 3 Caged Beasts

Speaker 13 Part One of two.

Speaker 13 What now?

Speaker 3 This is the boar.

Speaker 15 Go ahead, patch him through.

Speaker 15 Is this thing working? Is it cut out again?

Speaker 3 Chancellor. Ah, there you are.
Boar.

Speaker 3 I have Dr. Andreas breathing down my neck.

Speaker 14 We need those samples, ASAP.

Speaker 12 Yes, yes.

Speaker 15 I understand.

Speaker 15 They will be sent right away, like I promised. Already being packed up as we speak.
It'll be on the truck going out tonight. Good, good.
I'll let him know.

Speaker 14 You're doing a great service with all this.

Speaker 16 Will you be traveling here as well? Want to make sure to show our gratitude.

Speaker 15 I'm going to try to make it down there next week. I just have some important festivities underway here.

Speaker 15 Are you coming?

Speaker 15 We have a full plate with some plans in motion. Very important Republic business, I'm sure you understand.

Speaker 15 Oh, I'm sorry you won't be able to make it. Maybe next time.

Speaker 15 Maybe.

Speaker 16 Little easier for you to come here, you know, for security and appearances.

Speaker 14 I'm sure something can be arranged.

Speaker 15 Looking forward to seeing you soon. Give my best to the wife.
Will do.

Speaker 16 Good luck on your

Speaker 16 festivities.

Speaker 16 Thanks.

Speaker 15 Ugh, what a magnanimous prick.

Speaker 15 What

Speaker 15 Walrus, what's our status?

Speaker 17 The stomping grounds are being retrofitted as we speak. We're installing obstacles in various structures, trying to make it more sporting.

Speaker 3 When will it be ready?

Speaker 17 My crews are gonna work through the night to make sure it's done.

Speaker 17 Good.

Speaker 15 Then I'll set the start time at dawn. I want to get things moving along as soon as possible.

Speaker 17 I'll be sure to let them know.

Speaker 3 What?

Speaker 18 For the love of.

Speaker 18 What is it?

Speaker 3 Jeez.

Speaker 15 Can't a girl drink whiskey in peace?

Speaker 3 You know how rare this kind is?

Speaker 19 I'm sorry, ma'am, but you're gonna want to see this.

Speaker 3 Walk.

Speaker 5 Your slimy hands off me.

Speaker 9 Try that again.

Speaker 15 I dare you. Mira, you came back.

Speaker 20 Wasn't my choice.

Speaker 15 I'm surprised, Jackal. I didn't think you could do it.

Speaker 19 Wasn't me.

Speaker 17 She captured her.

Speaker 21 You lose something?

Speaker 15 Nakoma.

Speaker 15 My best trapper continues to live up to her name. Couldn't stay away, could you?

Speaker 21 Caught this one snooping around the contenders' dorms. Heard you were looking for an outsider.
This one seemed really out of place.

Speaker 15 Trying to get in the way. What were you up to, Mira?

Speaker 16 Fuck you.

Speaker 21 And your game. I know what you're gonna do next.

Speaker 3 Do you now?

Speaker 15 Well, we can't have that. Might change the odds.

Speaker 15 Put her with the others from Westport. Make sure they're all locked down good and tight.
Especially Mira here.

Speaker 15 She's a slippery one.

Speaker 20 You betrayed what we stood for. Do you know what you've done?

Speaker 15 I've heard enough. Walrus, Jackal, escort her.
Then head back to the stadium. We don't have a lot of time.

Speaker 3 Right.

Speaker 3 You heard her move.

Speaker 3 Hey. Hey.
Ha ha.

Speaker 1 Nowhere to go now, lady.

Speaker 20 They're gonna hear about this, I swear.

Speaker 23 I will tell them myself. You know the rules.

Speaker 15 I suppose you'll be wanting a reward, Nakoma.

Speaker 21 How about we start with a glass of whatever that is?

Speaker 21 Hmm.

Speaker 3 High price.

Speaker 15 But worth it.

Speaker 15 To good health.

Speaker 3 Sure.

Speaker 3 To that.

Speaker 15 You know, you really do have a talent for bringing me things I need. It's a gift.

Speaker 15 For a while there, I thought you'd left.

Speaker 21 There was a lot to consider.

Speaker 15 I did say you had a little time to decide.

Speaker 15 But then you took a while.

Speaker 21 Does that mean the offer's off the table?

Speaker 15 No, I never said that.

Speaker 3 But I have to ask.

Speaker 15 Why now? What made you change your mind?

Speaker 21 Figured I could scrape a living somewhere else.

Speaker 3 Get by for a while with what I won from all this.

Speaker 3 Or

Speaker 21 I can stay. And live a lot better life for as long as I was breathing.

Speaker 15 Glad you see it my way.

Speaker 15 Things are going to change here soon. It's It's essential to have people around I can trust to be a part of that.

Speaker 21 Does that mean I have a job?

Speaker 15 Of course.

Speaker 15 There's only the matter of a title.

Speaker 15 Hmm.

Speaker 3 Let me think.

Speaker 3 Huh.

Speaker 3 That would be perfect.

Speaker 3 How about a shrew?

Speaker 3 Seriously?

Speaker 21 Are you gonna do me dirty like that?

Speaker 15 You see, see, the shrew is small yet incredibly dangerous. Even for their size, they have enough venom to kill 200 mice.
It's potent enough to paralyze most of their prey.

Speaker 15 Just like you.

Speaker 21 Aren't you the walking encyclopedia?

Speaker 15 What can I say? I love animals.

Speaker 15 I'll have you get started after these next round of games. Unless you're interested in heading out and trapping some more contenders in the meanwhile.
These are going to be be large shoes to fill.

Speaker 21 Kind of wanted to see how this next round ends first, you know?

Speaker 21 Bet on my horses.

Speaker 21 Hmm.

Speaker 15 Now, I don't know if that's the wisest idea.

Speaker 21 Thought you said the games aren't rigged.

Speaker 3 They aren't.

Speaker 15 There is a chance, just not a very big one.

Speaker 15 The stomping grounds aren't known for their winners.

Speaker 21 Either way, it'll be one hell of a show, right?

Speaker 15 That I can guarantee.

Speaker 21 To the games.

Speaker 24 To the games.

Speaker 24 Come on, come on, come on, night, night, night.

Speaker 24 Yes!

Speaker 21 Riley, come on, we gotta go.

Speaker 3 All right, I'm coming.

Speaker 18 One sec.

Speaker 24 Look at all this.

Speaker 18 I wasn't even trying to win. I guess I'm just lucky.

Speaker 21 This way, we gotta move.

Speaker 15 What is it?

Speaker 3 Wait till we're outside.

Speaker 18 What did you find out?

Speaker 21 The game starts tomorrow morning. They're preparing the stadium now.

Speaker 18 We don't have much time then.

Speaker 21 No, we don't. Keep your head down and follow me.
We need to know more. We need to get to Albany.

Speaker 18 Are we gonna get caught out here in the open? We're not supposed to be in this section, right?

Speaker 3 Someone might see.

Speaker 21 Relax.

Speaker 3 I have this.

Speaker 19 Infected management.

Speaker 25 Who is it?

Speaker 21 You know who it is. Come on.

Speaker 1 Who would that be?

Speaker 18 I thought you said you knew this guy. I do.

Speaker 21 Owl, it's Nakoma. Give me a break.

Speaker 19 And who is this?

Speaker 21 A friend. Now let me in, and I'll explain.

Speaker 17 Alright, who did you bring here?

Speaker 18 Riley.

Speaker 21 She's Jo. She's from Westport, like the others.
Came to help get her friends home.

Speaker 18 That might as well be my kids.

Speaker 3 Oh.

Speaker 19 Really?

Speaker 19 I'm so sorry for your loss. That must have been devastating.

Speaker 19 You have to know we did all we could to try and help.

Speaker 21 And I'm gonna need some more of it.

Speaker 19 You can say that again.

Speaker 3 Jeez. Why, what happened?

Speaker 18 What is this place?

Speaker 19 Infected management. It's where we house different subspecies before moving them around the compound.

Speaker 21 We gotta find out what's in the plan for tomorrow. See if we can't do the same as before, give our contenders a fighting chance.

Speaker 19 Not sure how much that's gonna help this round. And there's something else I need to show you first.
Come with me.

Speaker 18 You're sure we can trust him?

Speaker 21 He's a captive like the others. Doesn't like this place any more than we do.

Speaker 19 Before we go into more detail, there's the matter of my fee.

Speaker 20 Again,

Speaker 20 what do you want now?

Speaker 21 Look, I got plenty of winnings. I can share them.

Speaker 18 I have chips too.

Speaker 19 Your money doesn't do me any good. You got me in here.
Now I need you to get me out.

Speaker 3 Wait, you what?

Speaker 3 Him too?

Speaker 20 He was spared the worst.

Speaker 19 Well, can you do it?

Speaker 21 That's a hell of a price, Alvin.

Speaker 19 Something bad is going down, and I sure as hell don't want to be around when it does.

Speaker 18 Inside the arena?

Speaker 17 Outside, I'm afraid.

Speaker 19 Look down there.

Speaker 3 Oh my god.

Speaker 18 Are those infected in those pens?

Speaker 21 I've seen all this before.

Speaker 19 Not this, this, you haven't. By the loading dock.

Speaker 19 Those are dead ones down there.

Speaker 19 What?

Speaker 19 The infected that were just killed in the arena, the ones the handlers could get to. Their bodies are being shipped off somewhere.
Various subspecies, too. Bulls, skinwalkers, sea dogs.

Speaker 18 Where are they going?

Speaker 19 They wouldn't tell me. Outside my pay grade.

Speaker 19 I don't need to tell you, a dead infected is almost as dangerous as a live one, especially when they start to decompose. Whatever the intent, it is not gonna end well.

Speaker 3 Jeez.

Speaker 21 Thanks for telling us, I guess.

Speaker 19 That part comes for free.

Speaker 17 Now, what you're really here for?

Speaker 21 Yeah, I don't know if I can guarantee you a release. It's gonna be hard enough to get the others out of here.

Speaker 19 Especially with what's going into the stadium.

Speaker 18 Why? What do you know?

Speaker 19 Promise me first.

Speaker 21 I can't promise that.

Speaker 3 But we'll try, try, okay?

Speaker 21 We got enough shit to deal with. Enough stacked up against us right now.

Speaker 3 Well,

Speaker 19 I guess that'll do.

Speaker 18 Does that mean you'll help us?

Speaker 19 However, I can, I suppose.

Speaker 19 So here's the bad news: the Boar has three infected slated for the arena. You've seen the Skinwalkers already, but for this,

Speaker 19 the handlers sedated and brought in one of the meanest of their tribe.

Speaker 18 That's it, down there? Wearing the wolf skin?

Speaker 24 Uh-huh.

Speaker 19 I think this one was in line to be an alpha.

Speaker 19 Next up is a little new.

Speaker 19 A Namrama.

Speaker 21 They're feeding it a horse?

Speaker 19 No.

Speaker 19 That's the infected's captive.

Speaker 20 Wait, what?

Speaker 19 The Namrama are the only ones to ride horses. This subspecies enslaves and rides them for hunting.
They dig their claws into their chest and hides to hold on.

Speaker 19 The riders have long spears they use, and they only say one thing over and over.

Speaker 19 Decimated the skinwalkers too. Took just about four full-strength tranquilizers just to bring it in.

Speaker 19 It's sedated now, which I doubt will last long. They're moving it into the arena now.

Speaker 19 Boy, I wouldn't want to be there when it wakes up.

Speaker 18 That's Brifalubina? It's huge. Bigger than it looked on the TV.

Speaker 19 Back up. Back up.
Don't let the handlers see you, please.

Speaker 21 That one already killed Lisa.

Speaker 18 It almost got Vera too.

Speaker 18 Didn't seem like they could even hurt it.

Speaker 21 Those three are all going into the stomping grounds.

Speaker 3 Uh-huh.

Speaker 19 And even if they manage to kill the first two, I don't think they'll be given weapons that'll leave a mark on Bill. It's a no-win scenario.

Speaker 21 Great.

Speaker 18 I thought you said you could help us out.

Speaker 19 Now, now, I've been thinking about that. What if we gave them a weapon to use against Bill?

Speaker 21 So you got some way to stop him? A modogun or something?

Speaker 19 I might.

Speaker 19 It's a little unconventional,

Speaker 17 but it's right over here.

Speaker 18 Is it one of these?

Speaker 24 Don't touch those.

Speaker 19 They're artifacts recovered from infected tribes.

Speaker 21 What is all this?

Speaker 19 Broken bone growths from infected. Some of them are made into little ornamental items and tied together.

Speaker 18 Are these dangerous?

Speaker 19 At this point, not likely, but it's better not to mess with any of them.

Speaker 20 So where's this weapon then?

Speaker 19 Last pen at the end. Been locked up a long while.

Speaker 19 He's the last of his kind.

Speaker 19 A very special first generation.

Speaker 18 A behemoth.

Speaker 19 You're familiar?

Speaker 15 Huh, too familiar.

Speaker 12 Got real close.

Speaker 18 Ended up putting an arrow through its eye.

Speaker 18 I thought all of these died. Ink made them years ago, right?

Speaker 19 He may be old, but still mean as hell. He's one of the original infected fighters that the Boer had brought here.
I think they captured him way out where you all are from in California.

Speaker 19 Been here so long you can't even sedate him anymore.

Speaker 3 Might even be bigger than Bill.

Speaker 18 Look, he's covered in tattoos.

Speaker 19 Weird, huh? Most likely had those from when he was still human.

Speaker 18 So how does this help us exactly? I thought you said you had a weapon.

Speaker 19 He's it. This one will kill any other infected he comes in contact with.
Maybe the only thing that could possibly stand up to Buffalo Bill.

Speaker 20 Wait.

Speaker 21 Your big idea is to put another massive killer infected into the arena with our contenders.

Speaker 21 You're an idiot.

Speaker 19 You don't understand. I've seen the highlights from the previous battles.
Watch this.

Speaker 19 Whenever they put him in the stadium with humans and infected, he ignores the humans completely. He has some inner rage toward the infected that goes deeper than any other drive.

Speaker 19 That's even how they lure him back into his pen and offer it.

Speaker 19 Different subspecies of infected tend to have extreme hostility, tribes constantly warring between each other. Can you imagine what would happen if they ever started working together?

Speaker 19 Thankfully, they all seem to hate each other. And this one in particular takes it to a whole nother level.

Speaker 21 What is the crowd saying?

Speaker 19 Freder.

Speaker 19 It's what one of his tattoos says. Could be his name, could be something else.
This is what everyone calls him now.

Speaker 21 This is the best you can come up with.

Speaker 18 You wanted a distraction, didn't you? That's a big one.

Speaker 21 Yeah, but we'd need more than just this. This doesn't help the contenders get out.
What else do you know about the stadium?

Speaker 19 Not much. It's huge, about the size of old world sporting arenas.
Fits about 30,000 spectators on multiple levels.

Speaker 19 All around the pit are reinforced walls with curved-in metal bars along the perimeter to prevent anything from crawling out. The only time one ever escaped is when an infected was thrown out by Fredo.

Speaker 19 By that time, it didn't matter.

Speaker 3 Splat.

Speaker 18 How are the infected or people brought in? Could that be reopened?

Speaker 19 They enter via the tunnels, as usual. Those are all controlled electronically.
I believe I can manually override those to let Fredo into the stadium. But out?

Speaker 19 No idea how that would work.

Speaker 18 Is there anyone who would?

Speaker 3 Well,

Speaker 19 no one I can think of offhand. I mean, we might be able to bribe some people or.

Speaker 3 Wait a minute.

Speaker 3 What about Will?

Speaker 19 That young man you met here last time. He designed most of the electrical subsystems.
He practically built this place.

Speaker 18 Okay, what is he?

Speaker 19 Right now, I

Speaker 3 have no clue.

Speaker 21 I might be able to ask around.

Speaker 21 Find out if this shrew title is good for something.

Speaker 19 You remember your promise, right?

Speaker 21 Of course.

Speaker 22 We'll be back.

Speaker 21 If you come up with anything better than your Fredo option, you let me know. Seriously.

Speaker 19 I'll try, but you know that old saying: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Speaker 18 Yeah, trust me. That doesn't always work out as well as you think.

Speaker 8 Stay alive, Alvin.

Speaker 18 This is going to be just great.

Speaker 21 No one said this would be easy. But if anyone's gonna know our next move, it'll be Will.
He's like the smartest guy here. And I'm pretty sure he's on our side.

Speaker 18 Pretty sure.

Speaker 20 Okay, I'm sure.

Speaker 21 And once we talk to him, we'll figure this all out.

Speaker 13 We'll be back after a brief word from our sponsors.

Speaker 27 Will can't see you right now.

Speaker 21 What do you mean?

Speaker 27 He's been locked in his lab all day, sorry. And I was specifically told no one in or out.

Speaker 21 Come on, Seal. I only want to talk to him.

Speaker 19 Yeah, it doesn't matter what you want.

Speaker 21 You know, I'm one of you now, right? Board just named me the shrew.

Speaker 25 Hmm. Yeah, it doesn't matter to me, okay?

Speaker 27 And why do you want to see him anyway?

Speaker 3 Well,

Speaker 21 give me a second and i'll show you

Speaker 3 riley get over here any luck give me my bag

Speaker 21 just play along

Speaker 21 check these out seal nvg's night vision goggles if you weren't aware super rare very expensive

Speaker 3 what really

Speaker 19 I've never seen those before.

Speaker 21 I got a buyer with me, too.

Speaker 21 Real interested in them, aren't

Speaker 3 Oh, yeah.

Speaker 18 I need those for sure. They'll help me see anything sneaking up in the dark.

Speaker 21 Only problem is they don't work right. There's something wrong in the trigger.
I was hoping Will could help out with that. It's probably something simple.
That boy can fix anything.

Speaker 20 That's why.

Speaker 18 If the goggles don't work, they're worthless to me. You're wasting my time?

Speaker 3 Come on, ma'am. Just.

Speaker 21 Tell you what I'll do. I will split the profit with you, 50-50.
They're worthless worthless as they are right now.

Speaker 20 Yeah, and how much is that?

Speaker 21 50.

Speaker 3 Oh, 50? Wow. 50,000.

Speaker 24 Get the fuck.

Speaker 19 You're not serious. 50,000?

Speaker 21 All we gotta do is fix them up, and the money is ours.

Speaker 21 What do you have to lose, partner?

Speaker 19 He ain't going anywhere?

Speaker 21 Nope.

Speaker 21 He's in his lab, isn't he?

Speaker 3 All right, fine, fine.

Speaker 22 Go ahead.

Speaker 17 Okay, just make it quick, okay? Make it quick.

Speaker 3 You won't regret it, man. Thanks.

Speaker 27 Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. You're going in too?

Speaker 18 I need to make sure they actually work and they won't fall apart the minute I need to use them.

Speaker 23 Fine, fine, just go.

Speaker 3 Hurry, all right.

Speaker 18 Geez, look at this place. So many gadgets.

Speaker 17 How well do you know Will?

Speaker 21 I'd say less than Alvin, but we all share a common threat. At least Will was an old fan of mine.

Speaker 18 You have a weird relationship with people here, don't you?

Speaker 18 We're betting on a lot of risk.

Speaker 21 And your bets have been paying off lately, right?

Speaker 3 Uh-huh.

Speaker 21 Oh,

Speaker 21 so

Speaker 20 sorry. Uh, I didn't know anyone else was in here.

Speaker 20 Are you okay?

Speaker 3 I'm fine.

Speaker 21 Just gave me a few splinters.

Speaker 21 Damn, are you okay, Will? You're all sweaty and pale.

Speaker 3 Nokoma, how did you get in here?

Speaker 18 Persuaded the god.

Speaker 8 Will, hey, you think you could take a look at these NVGs? Let me know what's wrong with them?

Speaker 20 What why are why are you shouting?

Speaker 3 Oh, oh, yeah,

Speaker 20 I get it.

Speaker 3 All part of our cover.

Speaker 21 Seriously, you okay?

Speaker 3 I'll be I'll be fine.

Speaker 20 Who who is this?

Speaker 21 I'm Riley, a friend from Westport. You get my drift.

Speaker 20 You were one of the ones who came to help, weren't you? I thought the board captured all of you.

Speaker 18 I'm the only one who's left.

Speaker 20 Consider yourself lucky.

Speaker 3 Ow!

Speaker 18 What are you working on? That looks familiar.

Speaker 3 I I have to finish this.

Speaker 20 I have to.

Speaker 20 This this this this was a moda gun. Only I've been working on on making some improvements.
Uh a new one.

Speaker 18 Yours is a lot smaller.

Speaker 20 That's the point. I love the design and principle.
Gunpowder is expensive. These these are quieter and more powerful against infected.

Speaker 3 But

Speaker 20 if they were more portable, they'd be perfect. I I almost have this one done.
It combines both.

Speaker 18 I spent a lot of time with the man who created the original, Datu.

Speaker 15 I think he'd be impressed.

Speaker 3 You did?

Speaker 3 Thanks.

Speaker 20 So,

Speaker 20 you wanted me to take a look at those MVGs?

Speaker 21 I said this was our cover.

Speaker 3 They work fine. Oh, right, right.

Speaker 20 Then, why are you here?

Speaker 3 You know, I'm already in trouble, right?

Speaker 18 Look, I get it.

Speaker 21 But this is more important.

Speaker 21 We need you.

Speaker 21 To

Speaker 20 to do what?

Speaker 18 To help us break her game.

Speaker 20 You don't think I already tried

Speaker 20 several times? And what happened? It's why I'm stuck here now, about ready to peel my own skin off.

Speaker 18 What did she do to you?

Speaker 20 It's what she kept from me.

Speaker 3 How about control?

Speaker 3 Well,

Speaker 21 you're the only one who knows this place inside and out enough to actually be able to do something?

Speaker 20 Freaking her game isn't going to change anything. She'll just find another way to get what she wants.

Speaker 20 If I try anything now, it'll just get me killed. And why?

Speaker 20 To save three more people? Do you have any idea how many were already lost in those arenas?

Speaker 3 Hmm?

Speaker 20 No, no, I have to finish this.

Speaker 3 I have to.

Speaker 21 Will, come on.

Speaker 21 Please.

Speaker 18 What was the point in coming in here then?

Speaker 15 We're wasting time.

Speaker 21 What if we didn't just break the game?

Speaker 21 What if we brought down all of it?

Speaker 20 You.

Speaker 20 you want to dismantle Prim?

Speaker 20 Everything she built, like that's even possible.

Speaker 21 Could it be done?

Speaker 21 You would know. You created a lot of the tech yourself.

Speaker 20 I I did.

Speaker 21 So you also know its weaknesses.

Speaker 22 Which are are a few.

Speaker 18 Then why not help us?

Speaker 21 We've been working on something. A plan, sort of.
But we can't do anything without you.

Speaker 20 What did you have in mind exactly?

Speaker 3 Okay.

Speaker 21 We're still working out the details, but we got an ace up our sleeve.

Speaker 18 I don't know if it's much of an ace.

Speaker 21 Alvin says he has a large infected that doesn't like any others.

Speaker 22 Yeah, Fredo.

Speaker 21 The boar intends to release Buffalo Bill and two other high-class infected into the stomping grounds with our remaining contestants.

Speaker 18 And Alvin wanted to release Fredo during the fight into the stadium.

Speaker 21 They need something in there. Otherwise, they won't last long, no matter what we do.

Speaker 20 Pretty damn risky.

Speaker 20 Throwing another

Speaker 20 infected into the mix?

Speaker 18 That Fredo is unpredictable. That's what I was saying.

Speaker 20 But it might work.

Speaker 20 Could in fact be their only shot.

Speaker 20 I doubt the boar would give them any weapons that would do much against Bill, but

Speaker 20 it's still a stretch.

Speaker 21 It'll be chaos in there. And then while that's going on, maybe we can figure out how to get the contestants out.

Speaker 21 Hmm.

Speaker 20 Everyone will will be there, right?

Speaker 20 In the stadium?

Speaker 20 After last rounds th this one i is going to be more popular than ever.

Speaker 18 Does that matter? We have to stop it.

Speaker 20 No, no, you don't you don't understand. I I mean, Prim will be understaffed.
There there won't be as many manning the walls or or or s security points.

Speaker 20 The the guards will be watching the match on on on T V, focusing on on what happens.

Speaker 26 So that's the time to strike.

Speaker 20 But but not not with just Fredo. You would need more, more distractions outside the arena.
May maybe something that could also increase your numbers.

Speaker 3 Like what?

Speaker 21 Right, the camps.

Speaker 20 If enough were freed, at the right time, they would easily outnumber the Boer's army.

Speaker 18 I've seen those people. Many are weak, even sick-looking.

Speaker 20 Given the chance at freedom, they will fight with every breath they have left.

Speaker 20 We all would.

Speaker 21 There's no way the Boer would be able to contain them and the fight inside the stadium at the same time. You think you can do that?

Speaker 3 Me? Uh, no.

Speaker 20 I would have to rely on you two.

Speaker 20 I can point you in the right direction, give you instructions, but

Speaker 20 I'm stuck inside here.

Speaker 14 Hey, y'all almost done in there?

Speaker 3 Uh, oh, almost.

Speaker 20 This thing is pretty tricky, but I think I can fix it.

Speaker 18 It's well worth the cost.

Speaker 14 Good, good.

Speaker 23 Well, just just hurry it up, all right?

Speaker 18 But what about Nick and the others in the arena? They're stuck inside. Even if we do send Fredo to help, how can we get them out?

Speaker 20 Now that that's gonna be tricky. There's a way to open the control points between Fredo's containment cell and the stadium.
That that's easy because they've they've done it before in in other games.

Speaker 20 I can give you the code and and Alvin can execute it, but uh opening the doors to get someone out, that that that has to be done manually and and in person.

Speaker 21 And we can't do that?

Speaker 20 The exit tunnel will be surrounded by the Boers' people for sure. We can't lower a rope or something? Doubted.

Speaker 20 Honestly, about the only way to get them out is to knock one of the walls down.

Speaker 3 Shit.

Speaker 18 Like with a bomb?

Speaker 20 Something like that.

Speaker 3 Wha why?

Speaker 18 Maybe we have one.

Speaker 18 What about the bastard?

Speaker 21 You're gonna have to narrow that down.

Speaker 3 We're in prim.

Speaker 3 Who are you talking about?

Speaker 18 Not a person.

Speaker 3 A truck.

Speaker 18 It has a massive matagon in it, with compressed air tanks. And it's a hybrid with loads of batteries, too.

Speaker 21 Would any of that work?

Speaker 3 Hmm.

Speaker 20 Perhaps if it's parked near the stadium's maintenance gates, that might be enough to blow out the hinges. But it'd be better if your car bomb had a little extra help.

Speaker 20 I think I have all the pieces needed to do that here, like

Speaker 20 a timer and extra fuel.

Speaker 21 That would cause a hell of a distraction. And the infected in the stadium would get out too.

Speaker 20 It'd be chaos.

Speaker 20 Could give you enough time to get the workers from the camp in the tunnels and outside the city.

Speaker 20 Me included?

Speaker 21 I doubt anyone will be guarding you once everything starts going bad outside.

Speaker 18 I bet they'll give us a chance to get Mira Mira and the others out too. Even Alvin.

Speaker 18 It's going to be risky, though.

Speaker 3 Won't have much time.

Speaker 20 The boar will be focused on keeping her city together. She's not going to care about your friends at that point.

Speaker 20 This place is what she cares about most.

Speaker 20 Here,

Speaker 20 let me get together what you need for your truck.

Speaker 21 You're sure about this, Will.

Speaker 21 We are asking a lot. I don't know if we can guarantee your safety.

Speaker 20 You're bringing this place down, right?

Speaker 21 Well, yes, but if you're not sure... I'm positive.

Speaker 20 You don't know Prim like I do.

Speaker 20 Let me ask you something.

Speaker 20 Did either of you know your mother or your father?

Speaker 21 Until I was six, when they both died.

Speaker 18 I left France when I was 23, and then everything happened.

Speaker 3 They were older, and I don't think they made it.

Speaker 20 Well, I never knew mine.

Speaker 20 My parents were killed before I was even old enough to remember what they even looked like.

Speaker 20 There are countless children here who can say the same.

Speaker 3 Oh, God.

Speaker 20 I'm one of the lucky ones, but only because of what I can do.

Speaker 20 If there's any chance to end all of this, even if it means risking myself, I'll take it.

Speaker 21 That's what I was hoping to hear.

Speaker 18 You're one of the good ones, Will.

Speaker 15 I hope you know that.

Speaker 20 This might be our only shot.

Speaker 20 Here, place this directly on the hybrid batteries in the truck. It has a timer on it for 60 seconds.
Should be enough to do what we need.

Speaker 20 You have to get the vehicle as close to the gate as you can for it to work.

Speaker 3 Okay.

Speaker 20 And here, I've been modifying some of the Bohr's radios. These will let you monitor

Speaker 20 what they're saying on channel 1. But if you want to talk to each other and me, click here.

Speaker 20 I made a special encoded channel and these aren't affected by the scramblers.

Speaker 3 Damn. You really are a freaking wizard, aren't you?

Speaker 3 Well,

Speaker 3 I try.

Speaker 20 Oh, I meant to ask, how are Alex and Dot doing?

Speaker 3 What?

Speaker 20 They made it to Westport, right?

Speaker 20 That's why you came to help, wasn't it?

Speaker 3 Wait, they're alive?

Speaker 18 We thought they died in the arena.

Speaker 20 No, you don't know.

Speaker 20 I snuck them out right after their game started through the tunnel.

Speaker 21 No, shit.

Speaker 3 We haven't heard anything.

Speaker 3 Where would they have gone?

Speaker 14 All right, all right. Enough is enough.
I can't keep this up all day.

Speaker 3 Check him out, right? Right?

Speaker 21 Hit the lights.

Speaker 3 Wow, they work perfect.

Speaker 18 We're done here.

Speaker 21 Hey, your chips. Give me what you have.

Speaker 3 Pay me, you know?

Speaker 18 Uh, here's ten thousand. I'll give you the rest after the game tomorrow.

Speaker 3 Thanks.

Speaker 25 Wait, wait, that wasn't the deal.

Speaker 21 Here you go, Seal.

Speaker 21 Why don't you take this 10k for now, and I'll pay you the other 15 tomorrow.

Speaker 18 It's a deal, then.

Speaker 3 What? What?

Speaker 23 What's what are you doing with all the extra stuff in the box?

Speaker 21 Those are good parts. They were worth trading.

Speaker 23 The hell, you're dude! What the fuck is going on here?

Speaker 20 We were just...

Speaker 18 You don't trust me?

Speaker 14 Fine.

Speaker 18 Take the NPGs. Hold on to them till tomorrow.
At least I know they work now.

Speaker 18 You better not break them.

Speaker 3 Wait.

Speaker 3 Wait, what?

Speaker 18 Now that they work, they're worth more than 50k to me, along with this other stuff. Why don't I come back tomorrow for the NPGs, and I'll give you an additional 50k.

Speaker 3 Seriously?

Speaker 18 Look, I deal with many one-of-a-kind old-world items internationally. You help us out here or there, I'll make it worth it for you.

Speaker 21 Come on, Sue. Don't Don't fuck this up for me.
I'm one of you now.

Speaker 3 All right, okay, okay.

Speaker 22 I'm not.

Speaker 14 Seal knows what Dak is place.

Speaker 22 Look, I'll be here all day tomorrow, okay?

Speaker 27 I'll just be here for the day shit, but you better fucking pay up.

Speaker 18 You better not break them.

Speaker 3 Cross my heart.

Speaker 16 Hope to die.

Speaker 21 We'll be back.

Speaker 27 I'll see you tomorrow.

Speaker 20 Uh, glad I could help.

Speaker 21 Holy shit, that was close.

Speaker 21 Good thinking on your toes back there.

Speaker 18 That was all of my chips. I kept raising the amount.
I hope we don't actually need more.

Speaker 3 We won't.

Speaker 21 This time tomorrow, this is going to be a very different prim.

Speaker 18 And did you hear what he said about Alex and Dot?

Speaker 3 They got out.

Speaker 3 But where did they go? Hopefully to get help, like Will said.

Speaker 21 Because something tells me we're gonna need it.

Speaker 2 Come on, come on.

Speaker 25 Someone must have heard our message, right?

Speaker 2 Come on,

Speaker 14 this one's gotta be out there

Speaker 12 wait a second, wait a second

Speaker 12 to the 2216th game here at

Speaker 12 an encore event that will take us back into the old stomping ground stadium. The last surviving contestants have agreed to a winner-take-all bonus round.

Speaker 3 No fucking way. Vera and Vincent will face off against three invaders.

Speaker 22 Why would they do that? All grown to love and hate Buffalo Bill. Matched off tomorrow morning at sunup, so be sure to get

Speaker 22 place your bets before this once-in-a-lifetime event begins. Space is limited, so be sure to book with us as soon as possible.
This message repeats.

Speaker 24 This is just sick.

Speaker 25 They aren't ever gonna be be able to leave. Come on, come on! To the two-thirds!

Speaker 19 Sounds like Lisa didn't make it, did she?

Speaker 3 Dod.

Speaker 19 Damn it!

Speaker 3 Sun up.

Speaker 25 When is that? What time is it? We have like ten hours?

Speaker 23 Dot. What are we gonna do?

Speaker 24 We have to do something, right?

Speaker 3 Come on.

Speaker 28 Doors open.

Speaker 24 I never realized this place was so fucking big.

Speaker 3 Dodd, Dodd.

Speaker 28 Any luck?

Speaker 25 I don't know if anyone hurt us, but we sure as hell heard them. Prim is broadcasting about their next match, and our friends are about to get slaughtered.

Speaker 28 Wouldn't be the first time they've sent out one of those messages.

Speaker 3 What?

Speaker 25 Did you hear what I said? We already lost one of our friends to their bullshit, and now we're about to lose two more.

Speaker 28 What do you want from me, kid?

Speaker 24 What do you think?

Speaker 3 How about a little help?

Speaker 28 Well, I'm not going anywhere.

Speaker 24 You wouldn't have to.

Speaker 1 We'd go.

Speaker 25 But we have nothing with us.

Speaker 28 Okay, so what? Your plan is going all the way back there, and then you, too, are going to fight against the whole city?

Speaker 21 Dot?

Speaker 28 Again, I told you it's suicide.

Speaker 24 Just give us the chance.

Speaker 25 All we need is weapons. Maybe rations.
Anything you could spare. Please.

Speaker 28 I mean, that's still a lot.

Speaker 3 Come on!

Speaker 24 The fight starts at sunup.

Speaker 25 We don't have much time. Dot!

Speaker 25 I can't leave them behind. I can't.

Speaker 25 Not if if there's any chance for me to do something about it.

Speaker 24 And you are our only shot to try.

Speaker 28 You aren't going to accept no as an answer, are you?

Speaker 14 Probably not.

Speaker 28 Why would I expect anything different?

Speaker 28 Okay, follow me.

Speaker 3 Thank you.

Speaker 28 No, no, no, don't thank me yet. Let's go see what I have.

Speaker 28 All right, take your pick.

Speaker 3 Todd. Todd.

Speaker 19 Holy shit.

Speaker 7 This is incredible.

Speaker 28 Well, it was quite the collection. Used to be bigger.

Speaker 28 Take only what you know how to use and what you can carry. Don't waste my stuff.

Speaker 22 Body armor, Kevlar helmets?

Speaker 25 Fragmentation grenades?

Speaker 25 You really are ready for a war, aren't you?

Speaker 28 The surface is a a dangerous place. I needed to be prepared.

Speaker 25 You mind if we take the body armor?

Speaker 7 And maybe those two grenades?

Speaker 28 Well, as long as you bring them back, right?

Speaker 7 Of course.

Speaker 22 We'll overturn them when we're done. Dot.

Speaker 3 Uh-huh.

Speaker 3 Nah, we will.

Speaker 25 Maybe not the grenades.

Speaker 25 What's with the couple empty spots in the wall?

Speaker 28 Well, I'm missing a few from the last time someone came through here here and borrowed weapons from me. A special gold one went there.

Speaker 28 Any idea where that might be?

Speaker 3 Um,

Speaker 25 how should I know?

Speaker 3 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3 Right. Hmm.

Speaker 3 Dot.

Speaker 3 A shotgun?

Speaker 24 You sure?

Speaker 25 What about for distance?

Speaker 25 Dot.

Speaker 28 Hmm. A pistol, too?

Speaker 3 Okay.

Speaker 28 Well, kid, you can only have one now.

Speaker 25 Then I'll take the AR-15 all the way.

Speaker 25 Or is this an M16? It's what I've been trained on. Good for close and far away.

Speaker 3 So grab your rounds and gear.

Speaker 28 There's a bag you can use.

Speaker 28 Only what you can carry.

Speaker 25 I mean, I was eyeing that nice Barrett M82 sniper rifle.

Speaker 28 That's not gonna happen, kid. That one's mine.

Speaker 28 Come on, load up. I want to get to bed.

Speaker 25 You sure you don't want to come with us?

Speaker 3 Dod?

Speaker 3 No.

Speaker 28 No, thank you.

Speaker 3 Come on.

Speaker 25 What else you got going on down here?

Speaker 28 No offense, kid.

Speaker 28 Knowing what you're up against,

Speaker 28 I have a feeling that once you walk out that door,

Speaker 28 there's no way you're coming back.

Speaker 17 We're alive.

Speaker 13 Descendants will return next week.

Speaker 13 And now, a word from our sponsors.

Speaker 4 Coach, the energy out there felt different.

Speaker 5 What changed for the team today?

Speaker 6 It was the new game, Day Scratches from the California Lottery.

Speaker 7 Play is everything. Those games sent the team's energy through the roof.

Speaker 9 Are you saying it was the off-field play that made the difference on the field?

Speaker 6 Hey, a little play makes your day, and today it made the game. That's all for now.

Speaker 11 Coach, one more question: play the new Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, and Los Angeles Rams Scratchers from the California Lottery.

Speaker 12 A little play can make your day.

Speaker 11 Please play responsibly. Must be 18 years or older to purchase play or claim.
