Speaker 17 I hate being up here.

Speaker 23 Better than being on patrol.

Speaker 16 Not by much.

Speaker 19 I wish they would just extend the walls north and include this place. Why should we even stay here at all?

Speaker 23 President Jang has a soft spot for Dunbar. She's not giving it up.
Besides, it lets us operate securely inside the red zone.

Speaker 23 Heads up, incoming.

Speaker 19 Oh, yes. Our relief is here.

Speaker 23 Dunbar detail, our replacement guardians are coming in. Remain at your post till they disembark.

Speaker 16 Hey, hey, hey, now, I think I got something.

Speaker 24 Look, two o'clock.

Speaker 23 We've got movement coming from the northeast. Stand by.

Speaker 23 Is it human?

Speaker 16 I can't tell yet.

Speaker 4 It's just one, though.

Speaker 23 Take it out once you confirm it's hostile.

Speaker 23 Help!

Speaker 23 Please!

Speaker 16 Uh, he's calling us. Help me!

Speaker 16 Please!

Speaker 23 Human survivor, we have a survivor. Stand by!

Speaker 4 I'm hurt!

Speaker 24 Please, I need help.

Speaker 16 No, no, we need to test him.

Speaker 4 I know.

Speaker 23 Sir, sir, stop there. Sir, we'll come to you.
Keep your hands in the air.

Speaker 23 Alright, come on.

Speaker 23 What's your name?

Speaker 4 Judd!

Speaker 4 He's wounded.

Speaker 24 Gloves, get your gloves on.

Speaker 4 I got him, I got him.

Speaker 23 Judd, I have to restrain you and test your blood for infection.

Speaker 4 Fine.

Speaker 4 I'm just glad I found someone. I've walked so far.

Speaker 16 You're lucky.

Speaker 23 I'm surprised infected didn't pick you off by now.

Speaker 4 Me too.

Speaker 16 I got a QI test.

Speaker 19 Administering now.

Speaker 4 Please hurry. I'm bleeding.

Speaker 23 Sorry, I can't even touch you until we know you're not infected.

Speaker 4 And if I am,

Speaker 23 then

Speaker 23 I truly am sorry.

Speaker 4 Oh, no.

Speaker 16 He's clean.

Speaker 19 Test is clear.

Speaker 4 Oh, thank God.

Speaker 4 Infected did this?

Speaker 16 Yes, but didn't finish me off. It went for others.

Speaker 16 It's it's out

Speaker 17 Chapter 7

Speaker 17 Bury the Past

Speaker 4 Part 1 of Two

Speaker 4 Paging Dr. Ross.
Dr. Ross, please take up the white courtesy phone.

Speaker 25 You sure Hope is here?

Speaker 26 She may still be with Michael.

Speaker 28 You think she had the journal this whole time and then gave it to Nick?

Speaker 26 I don't know. It was Tanya's, so she could have.
She and Tanya were very close. They were together ever since they first met at the colony.

Speaker 25 That was like years ago, in in the early days.

Speaker 30 But the note inside with the address that had the date on it, how could that have gotten in there?

Speaker 26 I don't know, Dean. That's why we're here.

Speaker 26 This is Michael's room. I bet Hope's inside.

Speaker 24 Whoa, whoa, hold up.

Speaker 27 You all can't just burst in there.

Speaker 26 Do you know who I am? That is my husband in that bed.

Speaker 27 I'm under strict orders to make sure no one gets in.

Speaker 26 Hope! Hope, are you in there?

Speaker 23 Look, lady, calm down.

Speaker 30 Hope!

Speaker 27 I'll page the doctor, but there's no way you're getting in there.

Speaker 28 Hope!

Speaker 6 Damn it, get out here!

Speaker 27 We might have a situation here.

Speaker 30 You don't have to do that, man. She really does have a right to.

Speaker 4 Is that her?

Speaker 31 What the hell is going on? I have a patient who needs rest.

Speaker 26 I need to talk to you right now.

Speaker 27 Should I call someone?

Speaker 31 That won't be necessary. Pegs, there has been no change with Michael's condition.
I told you I would let you know if it is not about Michael.

Speaker 26 It is about the book that you gave Nick.

Speaker 27 You sure I don't need to call someone?

Speaker 31 It's fine.

Speaker 31 Who else is with you?

Speaker 2 It's uh me again,

Speaker 28 Dean.

Speaker 4 You.

Speaker 31 I figured by that aftershave.

Speaker 4 Hey, or is that a good thing? You remember me?

Speaker 25 And I'm Ruth. We haven't met.
I'm Dean's mother.

Speaker 27 You brought your mom?

Speaker 21 She wanted to come.

Speaker 26 Pegs has been staying with us.

Speaker 31 Pegs, come inside.

Speaker 31 You two can stay out here. Michael doesn't need any extra mouth breathers around.

Speaker 19 She means me.

Speaker 4 Oh, Michael.

Speaker 4 Hi.

Speaker 4 Hi, honey.

Speaker 4 I am. I'm so sorry I haven't been here in a while.
I am.

Speaker 32 Well, I've been dealing with something.

Speaker 4 Gosh, I wish you could hear me. Can he hear me?

Speaker 31 Possibly. He's still comatose, so it's anyone's guess at this point.

Speaker 31 Hope.

Speaker 26 I need to know about the book. The one you gave to Nick.
Uh.

Speaker 10 I.

Speaker 31 I didn't give him anything. The journal!

Speaker 26 Tanya's journal. The one you gave Denise Fortaine to give to Nick at graduation.
The one he followed, and now he's gone. Remember?

Speaker 4 Remember that now?

Speaker 31 Please, not so loud.

Speaker 26 Who cares if Michael hears? Why the hell did you give that to Nicholas?

Speaker 31 No, I'm not worried about him.

Speaker 31 It's those other people that you were with.

Speaker 26 Dean and Ruth? They already know. Why does that matter anyway? What game are you playing at with all this?

Speaker 31 How much do they know?

Speaker 26 Just what I told you. They know about the journal and that Nick followed it and Denise and

Speaker 26 then that just led us here to you.

Speaker 31 That's it?

Speaker 26 Why does that matter?

Speaker 31 How do you know that you can trust them?

Speaker 26 Dean and Nick have been friends for years.

Speaker 31 Is that all?

Speaker 31 Tanya was very specific about who to tell about this. She didn't want anyone knowing where it came from.
She didn't know who else to trust.

Speaker 31 She was paranoid, and I think it was for a reason.

Speaker 26 If you didn't believe we could trust Dean, then why would you have Denise give him the journal in the first place?

Speaker 31 That was before Michael's attack, and I only knew him as Nick's friend. But whoever could have stabbed Michael, they had to be able to get up close.

Speaker 31 Now that I'm in charge of him, I have to be careful who comes through those doors, and Dean's the only person other than you that's been checking up on Michael.

Speaker 4 Well,

Speaker 7 because he cares.

Speaker 26 And Dean's been there to support me.

Speaker 5 His whole family has.

Speaker 31 Or what if he's waiting for the right opportunity to try again?

Speaker 28 I don't think he could.

Speaker 31 He's been at the hospital other times. When you haven't.

Speaker 7 Without me?

Speaker 4 Why?

Speaker 31 No idea, but his name is on the sign-in sheet. I asked Dr.
Cam to check.

Speaker 26 Well, I thought CJ cleared him. And Dean has an alibi.
She even sent his other mom, Mira, with Burton Riley, to look for Nick. Why would she do that then?

Speaker 31 I have no idea. But that might not mean much.

Speaker 31 CJ hasn't always trusted the right people.

Speaker 26 What does that mean?

Speaker 31 You might want to ask her.

Speaker 26 Okay, how could the journal have anything to do with Michael's attack?

Speaker 31 It might not be connected. But Nick was gone before that happened, right?

Speaker 26 You think Nick might have been a target?

Speaker 4 Look, I don't know.

Speaker 31 But it feels like something else is going on. My only job was to deliver the journal.
Tanya wanted Nick to have it and gave it to me for safekeeping, with very specific instructions.

Speaker 26 What instructions?

Speaker 6 I.

Speaker 4 Uh.

Speaker 4 Wait.

Speaker 26 Wait, were you supposed to give him just the journal?

Speaker 31 What do you what do you mean?

Speaker 26 Hope, there was something inside. An address that.

Speaker 4 Oh, no.

Speaker 7 What is it?

Speaker 31 Is it Michael? No, someone else. Move.

Speaker 4 Wait, wait, hope, hope, come back.

Speaker 4 Incoming men of ec. Wait, wait, wait, hope, hope.

Speaker 28 What's going on?

Speaker 25 What did Hope tell you? Not much.

Speaker 27 Just wait here.

Speaker 27 Hope, Hope, come back.

Speaker 31 I need to know. And I need to do my job.
We have severely injured incoming, and I'm on duty.

Speaker 31 No blue!

Speaker 31 Dr. Cam, where are they coming from?

Speaker 34 North of Westport, by Dunbar. Major lacerations across his chest.
We did our best to stabilize him.

Speaker 4 Oh my god.

Speaker 31 Just stay back, Pegs. You did a QI test?

Speaker 34 Infection was negative. Tested again in transit.
We wouldn't have brought him here otherwise. His feet are all tore up, too.
Must have walked a long way for help.

Speaker 31 He's not one of ours?

Speaker 34 Nope, no records matching him. We looked.
He told the Guardians his name is Judd before passing out. Don't think he's from the Republic either.

Speaker 31 Anything else? What happened to him?

Speaker 34 He said something to the other soldiers about coal and about the tunnels and the old arena. Whatever that was.

Speaker 24 Isn't that where Nicholas went?

Speaker 31 He's lost a lot of blood. We need to prep him for surgery.

Speaker 25 I'll assist.

Speaker 24 Hope, wait, can I stay there?

Speaker 31 This can't wait.

Speaker 31 Shit!

Speaker 20 Who was it?

Speaker 26 Someone who could be from the crash site site that Nick went to.

Speaker 25 Seriously?

Speaker 26 They just took him into surgery.

Speaker 28 Was Hope able to tell you anything more about the journal?

Speaker 26 No, not much.

Speaker 10 Then she got called away.

Speaker 25 Well, maybe afterwards, she can, you know, sit down with us and clear the hall.

Speaker 23 Get these people out of here.

Speaker 26 What? What now? Let's go.

Speaker 19 You three, you need to vacate the area.

Speaker 4 Why?

Speaker 30 Someone important must be coming.

Speaker 24 Is it CJ?

Speaker 27 I'm not at liberty to say.

Speaker 34 It's CJ.

Speaker 26 Here's my congressional badge. I don't need to leave.

Speaker 27 What about you, other two?

Speaker 30 We don't have one of those, but I am a guardian.

Speaker 23 Not high enough clearance.

Speaker 19 You need to vacate.

Speaker 25 It's okay. We'll wait for you outside.

Speaker 26 Thanks. I'll come down and tell you any updates when I have them.

Speaker 6 Floor is secure.

Speaker 28 Send her in.

Speaker 23 No one in or out of this floor.

Speaker 35 Where is he?

Speaker 32 Where is the patient they brought in?

Speaker 27 Down the hall there, ma'am.

Speaker 26 They just took him into surgery.

Speaker 4 Peggs?

Speaker 10 What are you doing here?

Speaker 36 I really wish you wouldn't get ahead of me like that, ma'am. Think you'd slow down with only one good leg.

Speaker 32 I just got word about this.

Speaker 4 Where

Speaker 4 is he from?

Speaker 10 Is he one of ours?

Speaker 26 No, it didn't sound like he's from Westport, but he might have come from where Nick and Vera were.

Speaker 31 That's why I came.

Speaker 32 Dora, find out what you can. Hurry.

Speaker 36 Right away.

Speaker 32 This is not what I need right now.

Speaker 32 What?

Speaker 32 What is it, Peggs?

Speaker 4 I am.

Speaker 26 I need to talk to you about something.

Speaker 33 About this?

Speaker 26 Something else?

Speaker 24 Might be related?

Speaker 23 Security, give us the room.

Speaker 16 Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 32 Come in here.

Speaker 10 What is it?

Speaker 26 I found out who gave Nick the journal. The one he followed.
We traced it back.

Speaker 24 To Hope.

Speaker 32 She was the one?

Speaker 26 Said it was from Tanya, that his grandmother wanted him to have it.

Speaker 10 Hope was always close with her, but

Speaker 32 why now?

Speaker 32 She's been dead for so long.

Speaker 26 I couldn't get anything more from her before she was called away.

Speaker 33 But

Speaker 26 she also warned me about Dean. She thinks he might be involved in what happened to Nick and maybe even Michael.

Speaker 32 Why would she think that?

Speaker 26 She said he's been checking in on the hospital even when I'm not around.

Speaker 4 Really?

Speaker 32 I can have someone look into that.

Speaker 26 Look, there may be something else, too.

Speaker 26 I didn't want to think much of it at the time, but when we went to ask someone about the journal, Dean picked the door lock pretty easily. He said it was part of his training.

Speaker 26 Is that a guardian thing?

Speaker 32 Like, do we teach that?

Speaker 4 No.

Speaker 32 No, we don't.

Speaker 26 He had the right tools and everything, and Ruth was with us, and it did not seem to surprise her.

Speaker 4 And then, how willing Mira was to go after Nick, almost forcing it?

Speaker 26 I know this sounds crazy, but

Speaker 26 what if all three of them are involved?

Speaker 10 We ran backgrounds on all their names.

Speaker 32 I've known Mira a while since she was a pilot in the UA's military, and the whole family has been here for years.

Speaker 26 And before that,

Speaker 26 what if.

Speaker 13 what if they aren't who they say they are

Speaker 33 like

Speaker 32 what if they've been lying to us this whole time

Speaker 26 I don't know maybe I'm wrong I know it sounds crazy,

Speaker 26 but

Speaker 4 it would

Speaker 32 take a certain type of person to do that.

Speaker 32 Deceptive and manipulative, playing a long con

Speaker 32 under a false name.

Speaker 26 Yeah, they'd have to be really good at it. To mislead us for years, and you, of all people?

Speaker 32 It wouldn't be the first time.

Speaker 26 Do you know something?

Speaker 4 Maybe.

Speaker 33 But I thought they were all long gone.

Speaker 4 Who?

Speaker 32 I hope it's not true. Lockpicking, sneaking around, false names.

Speaker 32 I've seen it before.

Speaker 4 Peggs.

Speaker 32 What if this family is the family?

Speaker 4 The what?

Speaker 4 It's a nickname for a group of very dangerous people.

Speaker 32 And if they're responsible for the fact that our children are missing,

Speaker 32 I worry we may never see them again.

Speaker 17 We'll be back after a brief word from our sponsors.

Speaker 8 Popsicles, sprinklers, a cool breeze.

Speaker 4 Talk about refreshing.

Speaker 9 You know what else is refreshing this summer?

Speaker 17 And now we continue with Descendants.

Speaker 17 Round and out, they won. We still have two teams in play.

Speaker 15 These are quite the contenders.

Speaker 15 Be sure to get your bets in now. You never know what might happen next.

Speaker 4 So,

Speaker 35 Mira,

Speaker 35 how did you know I was here?

Speaker 26 Heard some rumors?

Speaker 21 Other members suspected put two and two together.

Speaker 35 I've never seen anyone from the old days.

Speaker 35 Not till you, that is.

Speaker 35 Figured someone would come around this way eventually.

Speaker 35 What kind of ring is this?

Speaker 35 Hmm.

Speaker 35 So if I'm not mistaken, Mira Amsel,

Speaker 35 you'd be Marion's daughter.

Speaker 21 That's right.

Speaker 35 Marion.

Speaker 35 Marian Amsel.

Speaker 35 If memory serves me, she's dead.

Speaker 35 So

Speaker 35 You'd be fairly high-ranking. If that meant anything now.

Speaker 21 It does.

Speaker 21 And I still am, in fact.

Speaker 4 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 4 Right.

Speaker 21 You think the families are gone?

Speaker 21 They're not.

Speaker 35 Are you so sure?

Speaker 21 Positive. How else would I be given a task?

Speaker 4 Oh, really?

Speaker 35 You're here on official business.

Speaker 35 And what would that be?

Speaker 35 Does it have anything to do with me?

Speaker 21 I am not here for you. The task has to do with the contenders in your arena.

Speaker 4 Ah.

Speaker 35 Is that so?

Speaker 35 I hate to tell you. One team's already dead.
Nothing can be done about that.

Speaker 10 But what about the others?

Speaker 21 I know they're still alive. What if we could work something out? There could be a way to let them out early or even help them along to the end.

Speaker 4 Could I know?

Speaker 4 Really?

Speaker 4 And why would I do that?

Speaker 35 Fix my own game?

Speaker 35 Wouldn't be fair.

Speaker 4 Wouldn't be right.

Speaker 35 You know how much money is already invested in this lineup.

Speaker 21 They aren't all who you think they are.

Speaker 35 They're contenders. Damn good ones as well.
You should have seen what they did today. Resourceful and cunning.

Speaker 35 They have a chance without my help.

Speaker 21 One is very different.

Speaker 21 You owe them your protection.

Speaker 35 Why is that?

Speaker 21 They're a part of the families. A descendant of one of the Blackburns.

Speaker 35 Are you certain?

Speaker 21 I wouldn't be here otherwise.

Speaker 4 Really now?

Speaker 35 Which one?

Speaker 4 Peggs.

Speaker 4 Do you remember Oliver?

Speaker 4 Or...

Speaker 32 At least I think that's what his name was.

Speaker 7 That guy you dated?

Speaker 26 That was so long ago.

Speaker 32 We did more than just date.

Speaker 26 I just...

Speaker 4 Well.

Speaker 26 I mean, you never mention him.

Speaker 34 For good reason.

Speaker 32 Even when we were together, I always thought there was something different about Oliver.

Speaker 32 He made me believe he was something he wasn't.

Speaker 32 Don't get me wrong, I was still...

Speaker 32 In shock after finding out what he did.

Speaker 26 Yeah, I remember people being really upset. He killed that man from the Two Towers jail and then just ran away.

Speaker 32 When he left, he said

Speaker 32 he wanted to tell me something

Speaker 32 and that he hoped I would understand.

Speaker 32 If he was part of the families,

Speaker 32 he couldn't have said it out right.

Speaker 32 But he hinted as much.

Speaker 32 I think he wanted me to know.

Speaker 4 And then he fled,

Speaker 32 along with two others who were living in the colony.

Speaker 32 Never saw any of them again.

Speaker 32 But Oliver ended up leaving one

Speaker 32 behind with me.

Speaker 4 Vera.

Speaker 26 So her father is

Speaker 4 Oliver?

Speaker 4 Oliver Blackburn.

Speaker 4 The girl in the Heartland Arena?

Speaker 35 Vera is his daughter?

Speaker 4 How did that happen?

Speaker 21 It was a long story.

Speaker 21 He was on a vendetta right when the outbreak happened. His task was to remove Simeon Eklund while under an alias, Jeremy, at Twin Towers Jail.

Speaker 35 Simeon killed Lisa Black's kids? They were so upset. Real tragedy.

Speaker 21 Oliver was one of the Blackburn family's enforcers back then. Had to go in deep to get him.
Stayed at the colony for some time before it was called Westport.

Speaker 35 That must have been a hell of a long time ago.

Speaker 21 16, maybe 17 years.

Speaker 35 Last I heard, Oliver became head of his family. Never knew he had a blood daughter.

Speaker 21 He didn't either. Not till years later.
She doesn't even know.

Speaker 35 No wonder Vera's gotten this far.

Speaker 21 Look, I've done my best to keep all this a secret. No one else who isn't part of the family knows, including those people that I'm with.

Speaker 4 Who would have ever known?

Speaker 35 Hard to keep track of all the family members, especially how scattered they've become. I would hardly recognize anyone.
Members could be anywhere.

Speaker 35 So, if Oliver wound up at the colony way back when,

Speaker 35 he ever run into Tenuto's kid?

Speaker 35 Everyone knows about all all that mess.

Speaker 21 Angel Jr.?

Speaker 4 No.

Speaker 21 He was dead before Oliver arrived.

Speaker 7 Angel?

Speaker 26 He was one of them? Are you sure?

Speaker 4 He.

Speaker 32 he alluded to being part of the family briefly in his journal, but turned his back on them long before coming to the tower. And even before joining the military.

Speaker 4 I think.

Speaker 32 I pieced a few things together whenever he mentioned Latch and Scratch.

Speaker 4 Latch?

Speaker 26 Latch is the person I

Speaker 26 shot.

Speaker 4 Uh-huh.

Speaker 13 They have a lot of rules.

Speaker 32 If you murder one of their own, they mark some kind of kill order on you until it's been resolved.

Speaker 26 Is that why Scratch kept coming after me? Because of what I did to her brother?

Speaker 4 Well.

Speaker 32 I've wondered.

Speaker 26 So if someone knew what I did,

Speaker 26 would they go after Michael or Nick?

Speaker 26 Who else would know what happened with Latch?

Speaker 32 I don't think anyone does.

Speaker 32 I left out a lot of the details when we published the journals into the story of survival.

Speaker 32 But the family is still mentioned several times. I couldn't hide everything.

Speaker 32 I've tried to keep what I've known about the families a secret because they were so dangerous.

Speaker 4 But

Speaker 32 there could still be a lot of them in hiding.

Speaker 7 How do you know all this?

Speaker 32 Mostly from what I pieced together from reading the journals over and over.

Speaker 32 There's a lot in there if you read between the lines.

Speaker 26 So you would know who else was a member? Anyone I would know?

Speaker 32 The only other I can confirm was Durai, who used to be in charge of the Maulers.

Speaker 26 And how do you know he was one of them?

Speaker 32 Lizzie mentioned in her journal about what went on in the colony when she was captive there.

Speaker 10 She went into detail about the rules, how they work, and about their

Speaker 32 rings.

Speaker 32 Something they're given as a member and is pretty sacred to them.

Speaker 4 Latch, Scratch, Durai, and Angel all had one.

Speaker 26 So that's how you'd know for sure if someone was a member, they'd have one of these special rings.

Speaker 4 Well,

Speaker 32 they don't always have it on them.

Speaker 13 Good way to get caught, I guess.

Speaker 10 What do these rings even look like?

Speaker 32 I'd have to look again to be certain, but I'm pretty sure they're large and ornate,

Speaker 32 usually depicting three things that represent their family. I've never seen one.
Even after the rings were mentioned, not one was ever left behind.

Speaker 32 I think Scratch may have taken them.

Speaker 32 And only Bert knows where she ended up.

Speaker 32 If Dean and his family are members, these people are smart, slithery, resourceful, and ruthless.

Speaker 32 You have to be extremely cautious.

Speaker 26 I've been alone with them.

Speaker 7 And, like you said, they've been here for years.

Speaker 26 If we're right,

Speaker 26 why would they have finally decided to get involved?

Speaker 4 And

Speaker 4 why now?

Speaker 35 So the families have plants in Westport. I'm not really surprised.
How'd you get mixed up in all this? An amsel, of all people. You all don't like to get your hands dirty.

Speaker 21 My partner, Ruth, is of the Blackburn house. She had a son, Dean,

Speaker 21 and not long afterwards, her husband passed.

Speaker 21 She ended up back at one of the family's houses when I was there.

Speaker 21 We started spending time together, got along.

Speaker 21 Both knew what it was like to live this life of lies.

Speaker 21 One thing led to another, and,

Speaker 4 well,

Speaker 21 we've been together ever since.

Speaker 35 So they moved all of you to Westport as part of your task?

Speaker 21 Ruth knew Oliver fairly well. He knew he could never go back to Westport himself, so he'd have to send someone else.

Speaker 35 So he sent you and your own.

Speaker 4 Yeah.

Speaker 21 I knew the rail lines, having worked with the UA, which had ties to Westport. It gave us a chance to blend in, especially as a group.
Family members usually worked alone.

Speaker 21 Oliver wanted us to

Speaker 21 keep an eye on things from afar. We all played our part.

Speaker 35 Keep tabs on the goings-on in the city?

Speaker 21 Among other things, yeah?

Speaker 21 And to watch over Vera as well.

Speaker 35 And a fine job you did, too.

Speaker 21 Hey, we tried, but things got screwed up. A lot happened at once, and we had to work from a distance with minimal involvement and without suspicion.

Speaker 21 There's only so much that could be done without tipping our hand.

Speaker 21 But I'm here now, aren't I?

Speaker 35 That you are.

Speaker 35 I'm just surprised you all were able to keep up appearances as a group.

Speaker 35 What would you have done if you were caught?

Speaker 21 We've done everything possible to mask ourselves. Trust me, no one would suspect who we are.

Speaker 7 You know what, Peggs?

Speaker 32 The more I think about it, the more I wouldn't be surprised if all three are family members, covering for each other, gaining our trust, one person at a time.

Speaker 32 They know we'd be looking for a single point of intrusion. But three as one?

Speaker 26 Is there anything we can do?

Speaker 32 We have to know more. Understand why they're here and what they've done.
Who knows how deep they've gone? And even now, we don't know for sure.

Speaker 32 I'll do what I can, but I have so many other things on my plate right now.

Speaker 26 Maybe I can find out. They trust me.
They've even offered to have me stay at their house.

Speaker 26 You?

Speaker 33 What?

Speaker 4 Why not?

Speaker 4 Well,

Speaker 32 they would never suspect you. I mean, they would never think.

Speaker 32 Who in their right mind could.

Speaker 32 Look,

Speaker 32 it's not worth the risk, Pegs.

Speaker 26 What could I lose at this point?

Speaker 26 Everyone I've ever loved has been taken from me.

Speaker 26 Pegs, I can act on my own. You'd be absolved.

Speaker 4 Let me.

Speaker 7 Please.

Speaker 26 I need to do this.

Speaker 4 Okay.

Speaker 32 If this is what you want. It is.

Speaker 32 Then find out.

Speaker 31 But be careful.

Speaker 4 I will.

Speaker 26 But if the families did that to Michael, I.

Speaker 32 You can't act on your own. The minute you know something concrete, something I can move on.

Speaker 4 I won't. I won't.

Speaker 26 I'll wait till I have proof.

Speaker 26 But more and more I get this.

Speaker 26 feeling that they're somehow involved.

Speaker 26 I mean, Michael did say

Speaker 26 it was an angel.

Speaker 32 Until we know more, we have to play this very carefully. We'll make sure to keep anyone who isn't you or me or Hope as far away from Michael as possible.

Speaker 4 Thank you.

Speaker 26 I'm just glad Hope said something. It was right there in front of my face, and I didn't see it.

Speaker 32 Maybe that's the the best way to know who they truly are.

Speaker 32 You'd have to be blind to see through their tricks.

Speaker 4 Yeah.

Speaker 26 Well, we still need to talk to Hope and find out what she gave Nick and why.

Speaker 32 I can also check those hospital logs and see who has come in and out of here and when. To just.

Speaker 32 What? What was that?

Speaker 32 Hey! We need Halgrin here!

Speaker 32 Oh,

Speaker 32 no!

Speaker 32 That's coming from surgery!

Speaker 32 Stay out of the OR!

Speaker 32 Come on! In the observation room!

Speaker 4 What's happening? That man they brought in!

Speaker 31 He's waking up from his sedative!

Speaker 36 They haven't even done yet!

Speaker 36 Hold him down!

Speaker 36 Do you let it out? No!

Speaker 36 God, I can see him!

Speaker 4 Is he hallucinating?

Speaker 32 I don't think so.

Speaker 4 Is he infected?

Speaker 7 No, no, no, it can't be. They tested him.

Speaker 4 Secure the room. Everyone, get out of here.
Contacted his control right away.

Speaker 4 Guards on me.

Speaker 4 You can't stop it.

Speaker 4 Carl knows. They let it out.
The director.

Speaker 34 He's infected.

Speaker 4 He has to be.

Speaker 24 Put him down.

Speaker 23 Now, better president. Come with me.

Speaker 4 You need to go.

Speaker 4 Not doing anything. Get those sedatives in here.
Oh, oh, get out of there.

Speaker 4 You need a modern. I'm here.
Two to home bar. Now,

Speaker 4 take it down.

Speaker 4 God.

Speaker 4 I can't see him. I can't see him.

Speaker 4 Everyone on the floor.

Speaker 4 It's down.

Speaker 30 It's down.

Speaker 30 What about hope?

Speaker 4 What happened to hope?

Speaker 4 What happened to hope?

Speaker 4 Hope

Speaker 4 Hope!

Speaker 4 Over here!

Speaker 4 Hope!

Speaker 4 Is she okay?

Speaker 10 I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 Fuck. No, no, no, no, no.
Oh, no, not Hope.

Speaker 26 You said they tested him. Oh, my God.

Speaker 4 We did, ma'am.

Speaker 24 Several times.

Speaker 26 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, not Hope, no, not now

Speaker 4 What the hell

Speaker 4 That

Speaker 23 is not normal.

Speaker 36 What?

Speaker 31 What is it?

Speaker 36 Madam President, do not go in there.

Speaker 4 Will you listen to me?

Speaker 7 I want to see it.

Speaker 24 Whoa, whoa, keep your distance, ma'am.

Speaker 36 Listen to him.

Speaker 36 Shit.

Speaker 4 Quarantine the area.

Speaker 22 I want everything burned and sterilized.

Speaker 32 If anything moves in here, kill it again.

Speaker 26 CJ, what?

Speaker 26 What happened? What is it?

Speaker 32 He was becoming something different.

Speaker 29 Are you sure?

Speaker 26 How could you tell?

Speaker 35 Their eyes used to go white.

Speaker 32 That man in there,

Speaker 10 his were going black.

Speaker 4 What does that mean?

Speaker 32 I may be wrong, but

Speaker 20 this

Speaker 32 could be a new kind of infection.
