It came after going through a pretty tough period. I was incredibly hungry to create a beautiful life for myself.

Me too. I love the topic of today's conversation.
I feel like everybody needs to learn how to basically step into their full potential and their future self. And I can't wait to dig into all of that.
Speaker 1 But first, I want to get a little bit of a glimpse in terms of your career journey, your transformation that you've taken personally, because you essentially went from blogger to then multi-million dollar founder of the Activations app, which is amazing.
Speaker 1 So you entered the tech and wellness space. You're a super accomplished female founder and entrepreneur.
Speaker 1
So I thought we could start from when you were 18 years old and you ended up dropping out of college and then moving to London. Talk to us about that experience.
Why did you take that leap?
Speaker 2 So it was over a decade ago at this point that I started this personal development journey. I was incredibly hungry to create a beautiful life for myself.
Speaker 2 And it came after going through a pretty tough period from the age of 11, 12 to the end of my 20s, doing a lot of drugs and had quite an intense eating disorder and just really hated myself quite deeply more than I think the normal teenage angst phase.
Speaker 2 It was quite bad. There was, you know, a lot of negative things that I had gone through and I won't get into the details, but self-harm, bulimia, just at a very low point.
Speaker 2 I also just had no idea what I wanted in my future. And I
Speaker 2 essentially changed my life after picking up my first personal development book. It really brought me onto a new path.
Speaker 2 Then my focus after healing myself from some of the other stuff, my focus really turned onto making money because when I grew up, my family didn't have a lot of money.
Speaker 2 I born into a family of artists and blessed them, but it really was tough growing up, remortgaging the house all the time, a lot of difficult conversations about money, how we can just not afford any of this.
Speaker 2 And I had a lot of anxiety around money because there was always lack. It was always so much lack.
Speaker 2 So really, after getting into personal development around that age, 18, 19, I started reading all these books, and it was kind of my saving grace.
Speaker 2 I decided to move across the world with, I think it was about $10,000 I had saved up from working at a bar one summer and wanted to go very far away, somewhere English-speaking, and we could do working holiday visas as Canadians.
Speaker 2 So, I moved away and I just tried to figure out how to make a reality that I desired work. And I did a lot of random jobs.
Speaker 2
I remember working five jobs at once at one point because I was struggling to find a normal full-time job. I was working at a juice bar from 6 a.m.
to noon.
Speaker 2 And then I would go interning at a styling agency from noon to six on the other side of town.
Speaker 2 And then I'd come to the other side of town and babysit this Italian family and then do some dog walking on the side to make an extra buck or two. And then I'd work on my online magazine at night.
Speaker 2 So there was this big period of just trying to make something work and just trying to find myself as well.
Speaker 2 And I spent a lot of time alone at that point and started getting more and more into the self-development work and psychology and reading about how our mind can create a reality and was really quite obsessed.
Speaker 2 with earning money because it was something, like I mentioned, that I didn't have a lot of. I was visualizing every day.
Speaker 2
I was trying to do everything that these mentors, these authors would tell me to. So meditation was a big one that everyone told me to do.
And I tried and I couldn't stick to it. And I wanted more.
Speaker 2 I wanted more out of an audio that made me feel that I was energized, right? Because all of this work I was doing was to actively try to become a version of myself I hadn't yet become.
Speaker 2 So I decided just on a whim one day in my early 20s to record a voice memo to myself and use a lot of these visualization practices and modalities that I was learning about.
Speaker 2
And then I would add inspirational cinematic music as layers on top and garage band by myself. That was kind of the original activation.
I started recording so many of these.
Speaker 2 And when I started listening to these activations in my daily life, I wouldn't listen to them with my eyes closed. I would listen to them while I was cooking dinner.
Speaker 2
I would listen to them while while I was on the tube in London. I would listen while I was working out at the gym.
I really felt my future self-energy in that moment.
Speaker 2 And when I look back, if you think about it like a graph, the growth that I experienced in my life from when I started listening to these activations, it was like a bell curve. It was so quick.
Speaker 2 I was trying all these different things for years. Then finally, I felt like I had found something that was really working on rewiring my mind.
Speaker 2 Then years later, I launched an app called Activations that offers this to the public. And there are over 700 activations now on the app.
Speaker 2 And yeah, I've changed my life in every way, shape, and form from my body and my health and my self-image to financially a huge amount.

And I'm not even 30 yet.

I feel like this work is the reason I got there. And I'm a big believer in that and beautiful relationships in my life.
I really feel like I'm living the dream.
Speaker 2 So I'm excited to share more about how this work changed my life and how maybe someone else can change theirs with it too.

Yeah, it's so amazing. As you tell your story, I feel like I can relate to it so much.
I know that you have a new book called Activate Your Future Self.
Speaker 1
And yesterday, I actually talked to Benjamin Hardy live. He's actually been on my show four times.
And we always talk about this concept of the future self.
Speaker 1 And everybody has their own version of what future self is. But in Ben's own words, he says, your future self is the person you intentionally decide to become.
Speaker 1 And every decision you make today is either casting a vote for that version or against it.
Speaker 1 So basically, it's your future self that really should define the actions and the things that you need to do today.
Speaker 1 However, in order to influence your actions, you need to actually start to rewire your brain to actually feel like your future self and step into your future self.
Speaker 1 And I know that the work that you're doing with activations really helps support people do that. So first, I'd love to understand what is your version or definition of future self?
Speaker 2 Yeah, so I have a slightly different definition to him. I believe that this future self energy that I promote people to step into is something that you can actually live in this moment.
Speaker 2 It's not necessarily always going to live in the future. Your future self for me is synonymous with your higher self, your best self, your ultimate self, your favorite self.
Speaker 2
It is something that you can tap into right now. So in this moment, I'm actually feeling 100% like my future self.
I'm acting like her. I am sitting like her.
I'm dressed like her.
Speaker 2 I feel like I have her mannerisms. I am projecting myself like her.
Speaker 2 And there is really this beautiful relationship with that present and future, because obviously, if we want to create more abundance in our lives and more success in our lives, we need to act like that version of us that already has those things.
Speaker 2
So that is the basis of my work. To create your dream life, you must first become your dream self.
To create that ultimate future self-life, you must first become your ultimate future self.
Speaker 2 So I work a lot in self-image psychology.
Speaker 2 We talk a lot about identity and our activations really helps you become that identity, create that self-image and embody and radiate and magnetize your future towards you by being this future self now.
Speaker 2 So a slightly different, I really like to think that my work sits in between.
Speaker 2
more of the spiritual and woo-woo, but also very pragmatic. I'm a pragmatic person myself.
And I like to say that a lot of this work is the same thing in different languages.
Speaker 2 Someone that may be religious could call it prayer. A spiritualist could call it the law of attraction.
Speaker 2
An atheist may call it the placebo effect. A scientist may call it quantum physics or the RAS, the reticular activating system in your brain.
But it all comes down to being pretty much the same thing.
Speaker 2 What you exude energetically and what you pray and hope for and what you assume is going to happen in your life.
Speaker 2 It's way more likely to happen if you are in this specific state of being and you focus on becoming that future self now.
Speaker 2 So a lot of the work that I teach, I always want to bring it back to some sort of science, but I also leave room for there to be more theory in it.
Speaker 1 So I assume one of the first steps we have to do is actually think about who we want to be in the future or how we imagine ourselves to be in the future.
Speaker 1 So what are some tangible ways that we can do that?
Speaker 2
Absolutely. And that kind of leads me to my two-step process.
I always like to say that transformation is actually a lot more simple than everyone likes to say it is.
Speaker 2 And coming from someone who has seen hundreds of thousands of people use this app and transform and someone that has transformed her life as well, it's a lot more simple than people like to say it is.

And there's two steps to it. The first step is clarity.
And the second step is becoming. Become very clear, crystal clear on who that future self vision of your life is, that future self you.
Speaker 2 Who is she? How does she dress? How does she move? What does she have? What kind of life does she live? And then once you have that clarity, you must become her in everyday moments.
Speaker 2 So bringing it to the first part of this equation, clarity. The most important question you could ask yourself is, how does it feel energetically to be my future self? How does it feel in my body?
Speaker 2 Just as you're sitting here right now, as you're listening to this podcast, whatever you're doing, just notice how your body is feeling.
Speaker 2
And we have biofields around our body, three to five meters around us. We have these biofields, energetic biofields.
These have been measured by scientists.
Speaker 2 And our energy is created by our thoughts, our beliefs, and our self-image. So our energy literally will create our life.
Speaker 2 If we have clarity on how that future self feels and we embody the energy of that future self version of us, we are going to become a magnet to those things that we desire.
Speaker 2 So the first step is clarity. And I believe that the most important thing is to really understand that future self-frequency is what I call it.
Speaker 2 And that is the energy, how it feels inside and around your body, how it feels to be your ideal future self. Okay, so once you get clarity on that, then you can move on to the next step.
Speaker 2 But some other ways to figure that out that are a bit more tangible. Writing is an incredible tool that has personally changed my life so much.
Speaker 2 And it is so good when you are needing clarity to just take out a journal and write because you putting pen to paper and focusing on one thought at a time is magic when it comes to putting all of your thoughts on paper and getting clarity from the jumbled craziness in our minds.
Speaker 2 And I like to think that just free writing is very effective, but you could also find prompts online.
Speaker 2 We also have a whole writing category on activations that are guided journaling with the cinematic music that is very on brand for us.
Speaker 2 So, you can literally do it yourself, or if you want more guidance, there are so many resources online.
Speaker 2 But essentially, you want to figure out clarity on the five pillars of your future self: that is physical, financial, social, and spiritual.
Speaker 2 If you could get clarity on what your future life is in those five categories, and then at the end, figure out how it feels to live in that body, then you are so, so much closer.
Speaker 2 You're 50% of the way there.
Speaker 2 And then the second part of the equation is just becoming that version of you in everyday moments, acting as if you are already your future self while you're grocery shopping, while you're walking the dog in these everyday moments.
Speaker 2 And habit stacking this practice is the ultimate hack of all, I think.
Speaker 1 Okay, I want to dig a little deeper on all this. So you mentioned that we need to feel like we're going to be in our future state, right? And a lot of that is energy.
Speaker 1 And I know that part of the activations app is that you've got these different frequencies when it comes to the music that are on all these different activations.
Speaker 1 So can you talk to us about what that does to us energetically and how you decide what type of music to include on the different activations?
Speaker 2 We have quite an intense process when it comes to choosing the music and activations.
Speaker 2 And I think for a lot of people listening, they still might be thinking to themselves, what the heck is activation? So I'll give a bit of a background.
Speaker 2 Activations is a new form of audio, just like how you would listen to a podcast or you'd listen to an audio book or simply music or a meditation.

Speaker 2 So when it comes to the actual music inside of it, we use some of the top composers all over the world to create these cinematic, beautiful movie moment experiences for our listeners.
Speaker 2 And this has always been very important to me personally, because when you think about how your energy creates your life, what affects your energy?
Speaker 2 When you're listening to a certain song, like that bridge of that song that really makes you feel a certain way, how can you bottle up that feeling of transformation, excitement, growth, and inject it into an audio that also has layers of visualization, of affirmations, of all these different types of mental reprogramming tools, that combination is pretty magical.
Speaker 2 And then in some of our activations, like you mentioned, we do have our audio engineers layer in different frequency levels as well. And emotions have frequencies to them.
Speaker 2
I write about this in my book, Dr. David Hawkins.
He found that shame vibrates at a 20 hertz frequency, while love and joy vibrate at like a 500 hertz frequency.
Speaker 2 So really audio and emotion have such a beautiful tie.
Speaker 2 But one of the things I'm proudest of when it comes to activations and all of the intense years that I've put into building this beautiful product, and I am so obsessed with the audio component of it because this is where we change lives.

You can throw away everything else. This is the most important part is the actual audio.
And I have been a perfectionist when it comes to this.

Speaker 2 So I love how you asked about that. I'm such a nerd when it comes to the audio side of things because it's literally why I started all of this.

And you asked before about my journey as a business owner. I've done things very differently from the beginning.
I launched this product without ever thinking about anything but the product.
Speaker 2 And a lot of companies will focus on the marketing and trying to find the product market fit and doing things kind of the more typical way all i did was obsess over the audios and everything started falling into place from there and we haven't ever raised money with the business and all of our growth has really been word of mouth and it's because the product itself is so good and a lot of these companies you'll see they spend so much into marketing and then you get the product and it's not as good as you were hoping from all the marketing but i feel like with ours it's the opposite we're trying to figure out the marketing piece piece, but the product is so strong.
Speaker 2 So I really feel that is because of the obsession I've put behind the actual audio component.

I'll tell a really personal story. The other weekend, for the first time in my life, I got stood up on a date.
Okay. I had somebody talking to me for a month and a half.
FaceTiming, talking, whatever.

He was supposed to come, whatever. And then he just totally stood me up.
And I've never had that happen before. And it was so confusing, so devastating.
I just was like, you know what?

Speaker 2 And there's no doubt in my mind about it because when you start acting as if you are already your future self, all these crazy things start to happen.
Speaker 2 So the first thing that happens is the classical conditioning piece. So we've all heard of the Pavlov's dog theory.
Speaker 2 Pavlov rings the bell, the dog salivates even if there's no food, because the action of ringing the bell has actually created the neural response in that dog's mind to salivate, to have a physical sensation and physical thing happen.
Speaker 2 So the same thing happens when you listen to, let's say, the activation walk into your future every afternoon when you're walking your dog.
Speaker 2 If you're listening to that activation, you are not even going to need that activation after a few weeks to feel empowered, unlimited, abundant, magnetic. Okay.
Speaker 2 The same thing with when you're getting ready in the morning, I like to listen to activations when I'm putting my makeup on or I'm doing my hair in the morning, just to listen to in the background.
Speaker 2 And when you do that, soon enough, you're going to be looking at yourself in the mirror while you're getting ready and feeling so much confidence and love and just bliss towards this life and yourself.
Speaker 2 So the causal conditioning piece is amazing because it's essentially hacking the system. You really start to pair new thoughts with these everyday actions.
Speaker 2
The point of activations is to do it in the mundane, everyday moments. This makes it so easy to do.
It makes the mundane exciting. And it also habit stacks your practice.
Speaker 2 And the second very interesting piece to all of this is the reticular activating system. So we all have the reticular activating system in our minds.
Speaker 2 It's basically like a filtration system that all of our brains have. Some people call it the RAS.
Speaker 2 And when you are flooding your brain with new beliefs, when you are flooding your brain with new energy, with new possibility, with new potential, even if you're listening to an activation in the background, not even consciously thinking about what it's saying and how it's making you feel, just playing it in the background.
Speaker 2 When you do that, your RAS starts to change. You will start to filter new information through your mind that you may not have already seen before, that always existed.
Speaker 2 A really easy example that you might have already heard of is the whole red car example. You know, thinking of buying a red car, you start seeing it everywhere.
Speaker 2
It's not because it's being manufactured more. It is simply because your RAS is now programmed to notice it.
So the same thing happens.
Speaker 2 If you keep telling yourself that you're a victim, that it will never happen for you because of X, Y, and Z, whatever stories you want to tell yourself.
Speaker 2 If that is what's going through your mind on repeat every day, you're going to find reasons why that is your truth.
Speaker 2 You're going to see your neighbor from down the road become successful, and you're going to say, Oh, see, it happened to them, but not me, because it's not me. It never happens to me.
Speaker 2 Or you're going to start seeing that person reject you and think it's all because you're the victim.
Speaker 2 But no, the reality is that you are the creator of your life, and it's your mind that sees these things and reaffirms those things. So, the same thing goes.
Speaker 2 If you want to tell yourself that I'm 100% responsible for my life, you're going to start seeing possibilities, opportunities, reasons why that is true everywhere.
Speaker 2 And that belief itself, it's one of the first things I talk about in my book, Activate Your Future Self. You are 100%
Speaker 2 responsible for your life. That's an empowering belief because if you don't believe that to be true, then how could you do what is necessary to create your dream life? It is empowering.
Speaker 2 It is a harsh reality, but if we can just embody that and feel the excitement that that belief holds, we are ready to create a new life for ourselves. And you only live once.
Speaker 2
Why not make this one shot at life you have the one that you desire? This is not a dress rehearsal. This is our one life and time is moving.
Time is passing.
Speaker 2 It's time to live our best lives right now.
Speaker 1 So inspiring. And it reminds me of a conversation I had recently with Donald Miller, who's the creator of Storybrand.
Speaker 1 And we were talking about how you have the power to basically rewrite your own life story. And with Future Self, it's an opportunity to just write a version of you that you desire to become.
Speaker 1 But oftentimes we have a lot of insecurities regarding our desires. We often feel like our desires are unrealistic or we could never actually achieve them.
Speaker 1 And it prevents us from actually writing this story down and then acting as if. So talk to us about how we can get past these limiting beliefs that our dreams are too big or unrealistic.
Speaker 2 Well, it's just understanding the truth because the truth is that there have been thousands of people before you that have achieved what you wanted from being at a worse place than you are right now.
Speaker 2
That's it. It's the truth.
You can find truth everywhere.
Speaker 2 You can find people that have been in completely worse situations than you, worse connections, worse social ability that have created the dream career that you've always wanted.
Speaker 2 And I think a lot of us like to live in the comfort of not believing we can because it's scary to put ourselves out there.
Speaker 2 But the truth is, if you are ready to put in that work and to try and put yourself out there in that period before people start applauding and noticing you, then you are going to be successful at some point in your life.
Speaker 2
And if you keep doing this work and resetting and reevaluating and looking around and trying to notice where you could improve, it is going to work. That is the fact.
That is the fact.
Speaker 2 So when people people have these limiting beliefs, and I just hosted a seven-day workshop last week, I got back last night and I was around 20 women that all had similar limiting beliefs that we've all had at some point, whether that's the I'll be happy when, whether that's the very prevalent, it can't happen to me.
Speaker 2
That one, a lot of people feel can't happen to me. Why not? It's happened to that guy.
You know, it's happened to that girl. Why wouldn't it happen to you?
Speaker 2
That belief is simply the only thing holding you back. Whatever you believe is the truth.
And everything will point in that direction. Whatever you believe is the truth.
Speaker 2
Read the book, The Biology of Belief by Dawson Church. It is crazy how our thoughts literally create and mold the reality around us.
We can decide.
Speaker 2 So those limiting beliefs, we all have them, okay? Everyone you know, is born and goes through life and develops these limiting beliefs, but you can crush them. They are very easy to change.
Speaker 2 You just have to look at them in the face and rewrite that story for yourself.
Speaker 1
And also for your business. A lot of my listeners are entrepreneurs that tune in.
And something that you talk about, your energy hygiene, right? And so we have to have really clean, good energy.
Speaker 1 I'd love for you to stick on the science a bit and I'd love for you to talk about biofields.
Speaker 2 So every living thing emits a measurable energy field and scientists have actually measured the biofield around our body. It is from three to five, six feet around us.
Speaker 2
And it is us that is the source of the energy. Our thoughts, our beliefs, that is the source.
It creates energy. It creates the effect around us.
Speaker 2 And our energy fields can literally act like a magnet to what it is that we are exuding, right? So that is the importance of exuding an energy that matches the the vibration of what you desire.
Speaker 2 Like attracts like.
Speaker 2 You've seen all these scientific tests that you have a particle over there and a particle over here, and they will be attracted towards each other if they have a like frequency, a like energy, but they will be repelled if they do not.
Speaker 2 So you are like an antenna, you know, like you are sending out radio signals to what you desire based on the energy that you are emitting.
Speaker 2 It's pretty incredible when you want to talk about money here because money is something that's actually been the easiest thing for me to quote manifest i don't know if i i don't love using that word manifest i use it but i feel like it devalues the power of what i'm trying to say sometimes
Speaker 2 there's actually proof that there's science behind this yeah yeah it's all very very proven and if you don't believe it just try it yourself anyone listening just try it why wouldn't you just try it just try this work for like a month and you'll see what happens there's no doubt in my mind so when it comes to money it's something that i've actually because it was something i was so obsessed with for so long.

I specialized in it, you know, in my early years. I really wanted success and money.
And it was something that I felt like I really needed to feel grounded and stable.
Speaker 2
Now, obviously, I have a lot of other interests and goals in my life, but that was kind of the first thing. That's why I got into the work.
I didn't want to be broke anymore.
Speaker 2 I wanted to be able to afford things I wanted to afford. I wanted to be able to live a beautiful life and own two properties, you know, and live a lifestyle that I now live.
Speaker 2 So, really, this work was the catalyst for me when it comes to creating wealth. And this is even way before I ever created the activations app.
Speaker 2 I started making money and I would see the months that I would really commit to doing this visualization work, to listening to activations that I'd create for myself.
Speaker 2 And I saw the months that I didn't and the months that I did were just insane and the months that I didn't were just so average. So I specifically remember moments of that.
Speaker 2 I remember five, six, seven years ago when I made my first 10K month and I was doing this work so intensely and I was really showing up as that future self.
Speaker 2 And it became quite effortless for me to take the right actions, to say the right things, to put myself in the right places. And then I remember around five years ago, my first $100,000 month.
Speaker 2 And that was crazy to me because, you know, we all have ceilings. We all have these set points with our identity, with what we can expect for ourselves.
Speaker 2
And at that time, $100,000 a month was absolutely insane to me. And I achieved it.
And then I did the work over and over and over again. And it's crazy what can multiply from it.
Speaker 2 And just recently, we had close to our first million dollar month. And that was again the same thing.
Speaker 2 And then your set point has to stay at a certain level, just like our identity, or else we're going to get familiar with being a bit lower.
Speaker 2 And then we have to do the inner work to bring our set point higher to match and maintain that new income.
Speaker 2 So I would absolutely tell everyone here that you A, need to really understand the truth that you can create whatever financial abundance you desire. It is a fact.
Speaker 2
That's the first fact that you can create anything you want, especially in this digital age. We are living in a time of possibility.
There are more opportunities around us than ever. Okay.
Speaker 2
So you A need to believe it's possible because it is. Gosh, this life shouldn't have happened to me.
This work is the only reason why it happened to me.
Speaker 2
And I'm telling you at 28 years old, it's kind of insane, the life experience I've had. And I've deeply committed to this work for a decade now.
And I know there is no other explanation for it.
Speaker 2 If you just commit to this work for a short period of time, you're going to see.
Speaker 2 And I don't know if you read about this in my book, Hala, but I have a few examples of some people that have tried activations that have really seen financial success from it.
Speaker 2 There is this one girl, Ali. Allie is a middle school teacher and she was trying to create more abundance in her life and she had a very stable income.

It was quite low for a middle school teacher, of course. Teachers do not get paid enough, but she really wanted more abundance.
She wanted to be able to afford certain things.
Speaker 2
She didn't want to feel guilty anymore getting her Starbucks. I remember I interviewed her for this book.
So she started listening to activations.

And that requires me rewriting my story.
Speaker 1 And the other thing that's really interesting is that there's these five buckets, right?
Speaker 1 So you might be really good at manifesting money if you're an entrepreneur and you've naturally been an entrepreneur like many of my listeners, but you might not be so great at the social or at the relationships or maybe the physical is a problem for you that you need to rewire your brain.
Speaker 1 So I just love that no matter what your hurdle is, you can kind of use activations to improve the future self of a certain aspect of your life even.

And just the trick is play it like a game. Keep it fun.
This work is fun. This work is simple and it's fun.
You know, it's absolutely incredible that your business is hitting 10 million in revenue.

Like that is so amazing. Honestly, good for you.

Yes, it is a huge amount of money, but imagine if you could just tune into that frequency and just get familiar with it. Play it like a game.

Get very familiar with the feeling of having what you want. And this work is supposed to be fun.
It's supposed to be simple. You're going to be living your life anyways.

How are you going to feel? How are you going to act?
Speaker 2 What is your energy going to be like in those seven to 14 business days? You're not going to wake up feeling lack. Are you kidding me? You're going to feel so excited for your future.

You already know it's yours. It's just in transit.
There is no doubt in your mind that anything is going to happen to it. You sign the paperwork.
You were told this is a fact. This is yours.
Speaker 2 It's on its way. So that feeling, if you can bottle it up and embody it, that is what you need to remember.
Speaker 2 And in that seven to 14 day period, you're going to start thinking, okay, what am I going to do with this money? How much of it am I going to invest?
Speaker 2 How much am I going to give to my mom and dad and give to charity? Or how much am I going to spend on my dream home? How much am I going to spend when I take my sister shopping? How much?

You're going to start to really plan. what you're going to do with it.
And that makes it feel even more real, even more yours.
Speaker 2 So if you do this and you just stay in this vibration, this frequency of it already being yours, you don't feel like you need to overspend overspend because you've already felt the fulfillment of it being yours and it's on its way and you're going to be able to handle the spending piece when it comes into your account, but you're already feeling that energy of abundance.
Speaker 2 So that is my best hack when it comes to feeling abundance before it happens.

I love that. I feel like that's such a helpful tip.
Now, It's inevitable that things are going to go wrong throughout our day. I'll give you a great example of something that happened to me last week.
Speaker 1
I bought a brand new pink Porsche to celebrate all the success that I've been having. And it's a Ruby star hot pink Porsche cayman, so cute, two-seater.
And I got it last month.
Speaker 1
And I also put down an offer on a new creator house and studios for our network. I have a podcast network.
And so I was on my way to meet up the interior designer and start planning the new house.
Speaker 1
And I'm driving and somebody rear ends the back of my brand new car that didn't even have a license plate on it yet. I had no fault.
I was in such a great mood. I was talking to my mom on the phone.
Speaker 1
Didn't do anything wrong. And somebody crashed into the person behind me who then crashed into me.
Now, I bounced back pretty quickly.
Speaker 1
I didn't get out of the car and I didn't say like, F you, blah, blah, blah. I was just like, let's call the police.
Let's get a police report. This sucks.
But I didn't freak out.
Speaker 1 And I was actually really proud of myself that I was like, damn, old Holla would have been so upset that her brand new pink car with no fault of her own got hit. But I just handled it.
Speaker 1 And I was like, you you know, I'm happy that it wasn't that bad and I'll get it fixed and I'm so blessed.
Speaker 1 And I bounced back pretty quickly from it, partially probably because I've been listening to a lot of activations. And so my energy has been really good.
Speaker 1 So talk to us about the bounce back rate, what that means, and why it's important to ensure that you're able to shift your energy back when bad things inevitably happen.
Speaker 2
Yes. And by the way, I'm sorry about that car accident.
At least you're healthy and safe and okay.
Speaker 2
So there are three parts in my book. We have clarity as part one.
We have becoming as part two. And I spoke about that two-step formula.
And then part three is maintaining.
Speaker 2 And this entire maintaining part is all about the bounce back rate because maintaining this newfound inspiration, motivation, high-vibe energy that you've cultivated is literally.
Speaker 2 the most important thing. You know, it doesn't even matter that you've done this work if you don't maintain it because it's just going to be a blip of time in your life that you felt good.
Speaker 2 You need to learn how to maintain it. So, as a type A recovering perfectionist, female hustler, entrepreneur, I feel like a lot of our listeners might be in the same boat here.
Speaker 2 This is something that I had to learn and it really, really shifted how quickly I saw success come my way and also just how happier and more chill I lived as in my day-to-day life.
Speaker 2 The bounce back rate is essentially the rate at which you bounce back from being fallen off track to being your future self once again.
Speaker 2 So, a lot of us think that we have to be perfect, and we feel that if we are not perfect, we need to wait for a Monday or a first of the month or a January 1st to bounce back and to finally start over.
Speaker 2 And this time we'll be different, right? We've all felt that way, but it does so much more harm than good.
Speaker 2 And this is actually probably the thing that is holding you back the most because there has never been one successful, beautiful, happy, fit, abundant person that has ever had one, quote, perfect day.
Speaker 2 The most beautiful supermodels with everything that you could ever imagine.
Speaker 2 All of the people that you look at in these glossy magazines, I can tell you with full certainty that not one of them have ever had one perfect day, that have woken up at 5 a.m.
Speaker 2 perfectly and didn't procrastinate at all, didn't mindless scroll at all, had only positive thoughts all day, ate organic and perfectly intermittent, fasted, and went to bed after journaling and doing doing a perfect routine.
Speaker 2 Like, no, we can try our best to get as much of that done as possible, but not one human has ever had one perfect day where they've done it all perfectly in a 24-hour period.
Speaker 2
And that is because we are human. And that is because perfection does not exist.
So what are we aiming for if it's not perfection? We're aiming for a quick bounce back rate.
Speaker 2 The difference between an average person and a successful person is how quick their bounce back rate is. I remember when I first started my journey, my bounce back rate was like months.
Speaker 2 I remember trying to, I was wanting to tone up a bit and get into the body of my dreams. I was 30 pounds heavier than I am now.
Speaker 2 This was back in the day, and I really struggled with eating habits, especially after disordered eating earlier in my life.
Speaker 2 So I was really trying to live my best life, to have my happiest, healthiest body that I felt really good in, while also maintaining a positive relationship with myself.
Speaker 2 And I remember there were times where I would eat one cookie, and that one cookie turned into binging the entire box, and that entire box turned into ordering takeout, and then binging, binging, and feeling like crap about myself.
Speaker 2
And the next day, I felt awful. And then I'd wait months until I actually got back into a healthy routine.
And the same thing would happen with procrastinating or mindless scrolling.
Speaker 2 I'd get into these holes, and I didn't realize that I was in this analysis paralysis, trying to be so perfect and trying to wait for the most opportune moment to start again.
Speaker 2 Us humans have this pension for clean slates. And what we don't realize is that that pension is holding us back.
Speaker 2
So what you want to do instead is what all of the actual successful, happy people do is that have the cookie. Don't obsess over it.
Connect with yourself.
Speaker 2 If having more than one is not aligned with your goals, then maybe you stop. And if you have two, because maybe you had a moment of wanting to indulge more, that's okay too.
Speaker 2 But the moment you realize that maybe what you're doing is not aligned with your best self, you take a moment, you pause, and you choose to bounce back.
Speaker 2 So that's what the bounce back rate is all about. And one thing that came to mind when you were sharing your story on the Porsche is that

response was 50% of the outcome. So the great Jack Canfield, I learned this from him, E plus R equals O.
The event plus the response equals the outcome, right? It's not the event equals the outcome.
Speaker 2 Your response is 50% of the equation, right? So we can't control everything that happens to us in our lives. We can't, but we can control our response to it.
Speaker 1 I feel like this bounce back rate concept is so powerful for entrepreneurs because it's our energy that shifts the energy of the entire organization.
Speaker 1 So if something goes wrong in the business, you can't be running around like you've got your head on fire because your whole organization is going to feel stressed out.
Speaker 1 And so for entrepreneurs, especially, I feel like it's so important to always think, okay, I have a quick to believe. You're a person who has a quick bounce back rate.
Speaker 1
And then you've got the tools to do that, like listening to an activation. Like somebody pissed you off.
One of your employees didn't do their job.

So I listen to that almost every day. And then I like to listen to general cleaning ones.
Today, when I was just preparing for this podcast, even I was listening to like one about calm focus.
Speaker 1 So it just all depends on what I'm doing. I really, really like to listen to it when I'm cleaning.
Speaker 1 Cause again, I have ADHD and it's just like, what a positive thing to do while I have to do those chores anyway.
Speaker 1 And usually I would just listen to music, but this is music plus reshifting my subconscious mind. And so I love using it for that.
Speaker 2 Amazing. Yeah, I feel like when I'm on a walk, I want to listen to a podcast or when I'm just in the mood for something more educational.
Speaker 2 And then I also have a certain mood for just listening to music when I I don't want any words in my mind.
Speaker 2 But then there is that mood for an activation where you're like, I just want like a pick-me-up, you know, I just want to feel good. Like I want to feel like I'm the main character.
Speaker 2 When I have that craving, it's definitely activation time.
Speaker 1 And to your point, when I'm working out, I want to listen to music, but something like cleaning or walking or driving, I love to listen to the activations now. So kind of a place for everything.
Speaker 1 Okay, so a couple more questions as we close out this interview.
Speaker 1 The first one is I know that environment is really important to make sure that all these sort of energy shifts and identity shifts really can take place because sometimes your environment can hold you back no matter what kind of internal shifts that you're taking.
Speaker 1 So can you talk to us about that?
Speaker 2
Absolutely. If you have a messy room and you're trying to feel clarity, it ain't going to happen.
Our physical world is a manifestation of our inner world in every sense of the word.
Speaker 2
So if you are looking for clarity, try to clean. And some of our cleaning activations that are focused on clarity are amazing because of that.
It's like a level whammy.
Speaker 2 But yes, your environment is everything. Try to live in a way that your future self lives.
Speaker 2 You know, if she keeps her environment tidy and she goes the extra mile to wipe down surfaces after cooking dinner or something, just do that. It feels good.
Speaker 2
My biggest hack is also dressing like your future self. I loved to do this in my journey.
I used to wear things that weren't really aligned with my future self.
Speaker 2 My style has evolved and changed over the years. I've realized the more I've connected with my future self, I feel I wear just a little bit more feminine type of clothing.
Speaker 2 Everyone's different, but for me personally, and I think in the past, I'd wear like rip jeans and band t-shirts from when I was in high school and I was trying to look like a entrepreneur and someone that owns a business and I wanted to be portrayed in a certain way and also feel like my future self.
Speaker 2
So I started to just dress like her before I had that successful business and before I had what I wanted. And it really, really helped.
I really loved the results from that.
Speaker 2 So dressing like your future self is another big hack other than your environment being a great hack as well.
Speaker 2 And oh, one environment tip as well that you guys can just take right after this episode is I used to write these post-it notes to myself just as reminders because all of this work is simple, but the hard part is reminding yourself every day.
Speaker 2 That's why activations are good to have habit stacking. That's why it's good to journal every day, just to remind yourself of who you want to be.
Speaker 2 So one of the things I was doing earlier in my journey, now I truly feel like I'm living my future self most of the day.
Speaker 2 But what I used to do is I'd get these post-its and I would put them on my water bottle or on the back of my phone case, or I'd even put reminders in my calendar and it would say these three words, be
Speaker 2 her.
Speaker 2 now.
Speaker 2
That is all it said. I'd put these post-it notes everywhere on my bathroom mirror.

now. Every time I open my laptop, be her now.
And that's it. It's just like Nike's, just do it.
Be that version of you now. Be her now.
Be him now.
Speaker 2 And

really, when you remind yourself, it's that easy. Tune into it.

Speaker 1 So good. I feel like Jordan Harbinger told me a hack one time in terms of trying to shift your identity that you might want to think of something like be her now every time you walk through a door.
Speaker 2 Yes.
Speaker 1 So if you can train yourself to know, every time you walk through a door, you like put your shoulders back and kind of think of be her now, like you're walking to the next room or whatever, that that's a good hack to get yourself and remind yourself to kind of be your best confident self.

So I know perfectionism can hold us back, especially entrepreneur types. We like to be perfect.
Sometimes we kind of hesitate to take action before it's perfect.
Speaker 1 Can you talk to us about the importance of taking messy action?
Speaker 2 Yeah, well, my strategy, honestly, has always been throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks. I've been lucky that I haven't had to deal with a lot of perfectionism in the sense of stalling.
Speaker 2 I'm a recovering perfectionist, as I like to say, but I used to do it with things I get obsessed about, like my audio on the app. And I do have high standards for a lot of things like that.
Speaker 2 But when it comes to being in that freeze state, you just need to remember that you freezing is actually causing harm. A lot of us feel like if we don't do anything, we're like, okay, we're safe.
Speaker 2
We're in the safe comfort zone. But what you are not choosing is also a choice.
And that is something we all need to remember. What you are not doing.

Speaker 2 So that is what I would say to the people that get stuck with that freeze.
Speaker 2 So my strategy as an entrepreneur has always been, like I mentioned, throw spaghetti at the wall, see what sticks, try everything, put yourself out there.
Speaker 2 I had cultivated a deep belief within myself by my mid-20s that anything that I was going to do was going to see success.
Speaker 2 And even if that wasn't the truth 100% of the time, I had that mentality going into things that had so much confidence. I had so much confidence and hope and energy towards what I desired.
Speaker 2 And I think that helped a lot.

I also think the benefit of AI is that you don't have to hire as many people. I like a lean team.
I don't want dozens of people on my team. I'm just don't want to manage that many people.
Speaker 2 I also think that personally, as a business owner, the more people you have, the less things get done in a way is the generalization.
Speaker 2 I want to hire a very, very strong team, but I think a lot of my team already, they utilize AI in great ways to get things done faster, to review work, and it's been pretty incredible.
Speaker 2 So, a lot kind of on the horizon there. I don't want to promise anything before it happens, but we're living in an age of opportunity.
Speaker 2 Like I was saying earlier, it's really just an exciting time that we're all living in. And anyone that can really capitalize on this boom is going to be definitely reaping the benefits in the years.
Speaker 1 When we were talking earlier about journaling and scripting out our own story about our future self, myself, if I was to do that, I'd probably do it in ChatGPT and I'd probably have it go back and forth until I got extreme clarity on those five buckets.
Speaker 1 And I would use that as a tool to help me define my future self. So I recommend everybody do that.
Speaker 2 Yeah. That's so good.
Speaker 1 So we end our show with two questions that we ask all of our guests. The first one is, what is one actionable thing our young
Speaker 1 can do today to become more profitable tomorrow?
Speaker 2 I would say close your eyes and just connect with your energy and just feel what it feels like to have that amount of money that you desire in your bank account.
Speaker 2 The first step is just knowing what it feels like and getting familiar with that feeling and feeling like it is possible for you. So that's my very baseline tip that you can do anywhere you are.
Speaker 2 Just take a moment, connect with your body, connect with the energy that you are radiating off of you, connect with your physical body and feel what it feels like to have that number that you desire in your bank account right now.
Speaker 1 And what would you say your secret to profiting in life is? And this can go beyond business.
Speaker 2 Romanticizing it all and being obsessed with feeling good because I have had this obsession with feeling good for a long time and it has created a beautiful life for myself and having just a deep knowing that everything is happening exactly as it should in perfect divine timing and having that faith that I am creating my future with exuding the energy I desire for that future.
