Blank Check LIVE! at Town Hall (2025)

3m
👑👑 A LIVE SHOW OF MAJESTIC PROPORTIONS 👑👑

Podcasters, cinephiles, and freaks—rejoice! Blank Check will be returning to Town Hall this summer to commemorate our 10th anniversary with a long-promised tribute to one of the greatest films in cinema history.

To honor our “Decade of Dreams,” we cordially invite you to a royal audience with King Ralph, the 1991 John Goodman/Peter O’Toole comedy that dared to ask, “What if there was a King Ralph?”

It will be an evening of reflection, analysis, elaborately produced (and adequately executed) royalty-themed bits, and an entire court of special guests. God save our gracious podcast!

David, we're excited to announce a live show.

What?

Blank Jack Live.

A New York City live show.

That's not the kind of thing I approve of.

Yeah, well,

everyone's laughing.

Folks, we got him.

Truth in Comedy.

We pushed him to accept one more live show.

Yeah, once in a while.

Listen, people might be going, where's the March live show?

They usually do a March live show.

It took us years to realize that what a terrible time for us to do a live show.

Too much on our plates.

Our busiest March Madness.

Very annoying to do a live show on top of it.

Yeah.

Also, last year we decided to do a live show with like 15 bits.

It was very complicated.

Yeah.

What was that?

It was an excellent night of entertainment.

It was an excellent night of entertainment based on me as I walked out of the door one time going like, I don't know, ninth anniversary.

What if we did like nine movies?

Let's think about it.

It was a funny bit.

Look, this is the big point.

Yes.

For our 10th.

year.

We are returning to town hall.

That's right.

On Broadway or near it.

New York's historic town hall.

Yes.

And we are doing a show that is in

the spirit of Decade of Dreams.

Looking back, looking forward, taking stock of the history of this show.

There's an episode we promised for a long time.

He's kind of the an episode that's, dare I say it's sort of the sorry to Matt Damon.

We bumped you for time of blank.

Right.

We keep being like, well, maybe it goes there.

Oh, and I thought of something else.

Maybe it goes there.

Huh?

It's, it's just.

You really have to roll out the red carpet for a guy like this.

Yep.

Because he's royalty.

He's He's royalty.

You know what I mean?

Folks, we're doing it.

We're talking King Ralph.

Ben?

Hell yeah.

Listen.

Finally, I just have one thing to say.

A great tragedy has befallen the royal family, leaving only one heir to the throne, King Ralph.

That's the tagline to King Ralph.

Aren't there three taglines?

The second tagline is a comedy of majestic performance.

I mean, I'm laughing.

And of course, we cannot forget that the poster promises you both John Goodman and Peter O'Toole.

Yep.

Above the title.

And of course, that Mr.

Ralph.

He's got some sneaks on, some white high tops.

Look, this is the one.

He's got some jeans on.

He's got a black shirt that says Las Vegas.

This is not your Grand Pappy's King.

He's also wearing the crown of England's monarch.

And I've heard a rumor he likes some old-time rock and roll.

Oh, boy.

I also think he has, I'm going to guess, a chicken.

So no, it's a burger.

It's a burger.

These questions are going to be answered.

We're going to watch King Ralph.

What if none of these questions get answered?

We're going to do a full show, Reckoning with King Ralph

1991.

Yes.

Comedy, King Ralph, written and directed by David S.

Ward, who also made Major League and, you know, Major League Two.

Nope.

Now, we won't be screening it, so let's just say this is assigned homework.

Everyone needs to watch King Ralph before the show.

We will be watching King Ralph before the show.

Bits, goofs, laughs.

Cool.

Insights.

Hopefully.
