Not all adults know what is right for you.
Meaning, like my kids, if they're going to go up to an adult and ask them a question, just because they're an adult doesn't mean that they're right, like, which is so true.
I mean, we could go real deep here with politics and all the things we see on TV.
I mean, we could go real deep.
And you got to be able to think for yourself because there's so much noise, social media, any kind of media, really.
And you have to have the judgment to say,
this seems off.
Like, this is not feeling right to me.
And being able to make your own decision.
So I think that starts at a young age, being able to pick up on those things, being able to make your own judgment calls and trusting yourself.
Like I trust myself, even when I make a wrong decision, I will get myself back on track.
Come on this journey with me.
Each week when you join me, we are going to chase down our goals, overcome adversity, and set you up for a better tomorrow.
Hi and welcome back.
I'm so glad you're back here with me this week.

Can't wait to get into that today.
She's a sought-after speaker, mom, wife.
She lives in Florida.
And as I mentioned, is a friend of mine.
So Sandy, I'm so excited you could be here with us today.
Yay.
It is so good to be back with you.
Oh my gosh, it's been a minute.
All right.
So talk to us about what's been going on.
We only got to catch up for a few minutes the other day and you now have your own show.
you just walk the catwalk for what was it swim week
swim week that's right like you're taking risk after risk and going to the next level so get us up to speed on all things that you've been doing Yeah, oh my gosh, Heather, there's so many things going on just in the pipeline and really to bring the women, you know, into the community and present others with other opportunities.
I think that, you know, before I get into it, unless we see other women doing the things that we have on our hearts and on our minds, and whether we're secretly journaling about them and wanting to do them, like when I see someone else going after something and accomplishing it, that gives me, you're like, wow, that is so exciting.
That gives me hope, inspiration, motivation that I can do it too.
So I hope that I can be that to others.
And, you know, I've seen, I've seen women in my community that are like, and this is such a compliment, but it also goes to show that like when there's women leading the way and you know that you can do it too, anything's possible.
So one of the women had said, you are my vision board.
And I was like, what?
Like,
not only is that a compliment, but I don't really stop to think about these things.
You know, I feel like I, I set my mind on something, I go and I do it.
And then I'm like on to the next thing.
So it was, it was a nice kind of like moment to stop and hear that and be like, wow, like, yeah, I have done these things, but even more so than doing the things, I love that I get to show women that they get to do it too.
Yeah.
And for everyone listening, I think this is a a really good point.
When you get caught up in your own mind and you're like, oh, I'm people are going to think I'm full of myself if I post about I spoke at this event or I wrote this book or I did this podcast.
Stop for a minute and think about what Sandy just said.
Instead of making it about you, think about one person that you might actually.
You could change one person's life.
That woman that you just gave as an example, you're her vision board.
That's the reason to go for the next thing.
That's the reason to share it with other people.
Too often people are getting caught up in their heads of what will others think about me.
Instead, make it about that one person you can help.
And I helped so many people, Sandy.
One of the things that I've been blown away is what an incredible wife, mother, as well as business owner, you are and bringing all of those things together and really doing it in a way that you make it look so easy.
How do you do that?
You know, it's funny.
I was with a friend, a mutual friend of ours yesterday.
We were talking about this.
And, you know, I think there's seasons and you have to honor the seasons because I surely was not going after, let me walk in Miami swim weekend, going after Mrs.
International when I was like having a newborn at home and up all night and like really, really in the thick of it.
It's a different in the thick of it now because yes, they're still little, but they're like off to camp and they're in school and it just looks a little bit different.
So I think just honoring the seasons and knowing what I'm capable of, because some seasons are heavier with what my kids need from me or my husband needs from me or travel and just looking at like, okay, what is my bandwidth?
Because we all have big goals but like does that make sense right now i actually had a call with my coach with my my fitness coach which we'll get into uh in a little bit about all the things that are coming up and i had a call with her over the weekend and i was like
Do you think I said, because I told her all the things that I have going on, I was like, I am just looking at my bandwidth right now.
And I said, I want to make sure if I'm going to go into this, I can give it 100%
because I don't go into something halfway.
Like I go in, I go 100%
and there is no other option.
She's like, Well, you could go on stage and just do it for the photos.
I'm like, I ain't just doing this for the photos.
So I almost had to have a reality check with myself, which actually, and I'll tell you kind of what my breakthrough was here.
In the past, when I was competing, I competed on stage in December, won my pro card with the WBFF.
And now I'm competing.
This is something coming up in August for the next show, which is like the world's WBFF, the biggest show they have.
So I'm competing in that here in Miami in August.
And so I kind of had this like, you know, I mean, I don't know if it was an aha moment or like a come to Jesus moment, but I was like, is this something that I'm capable of doing right now with all the other things going on?
Because again, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to go in 100%.
And I think the mind shift for me here, Heather, was.
I was so used to like getting up at 5.30 and getting my workouts in early and then like having to work all day and then be with the kids and then be with the husband and then work out again.
Like it is a very grueling schedule for competition.
And there's two months you're like hot and heavy and in it and like laser focused.
And I kind of had a flip of the switch here where I was like, you know, I don't need to get up at 5.30.
Some days, yes, depending on the schedule, but like if I get up at 630, is it going to kill me?
No.
So I literally had to look at, okay, my body, because I'm lifting heavier, because I'm on lower calories, because the schedules are shifting and changing, like I have to evolve with it.
And I just can't keep going 530.
I mean, I was still getting eight hours of sleep, but my body is sore today, Heather, from a workout two days ago.
Like it is intense.
It is next level.
So I think to circle this back around, you've got to know your seasons and honor where you're at because you can't go all in 100% if you're trying to be 100% in 10 different things.
Yeah, that sounds incredibly intense to me, but
I am much like, I've never done any type of competition like what what you've done and i one of my best friends has done it and i've been really close with her through it it is a lot of people will get that and be like oh that's so flippant that's just about looking pretty no
it is it's not it's so funny because one of my dearest friends competed in the same thing that you competed in very similar years ago and won as well just like you and plays to win just like me and like was so dedicated to it that it almost became her husband was like this is almost an illness like you're eating so clean you're not yeah like enjoying life he didn't like it but for her she felt it was she wanted to prove to herself she could do it and anytime you do something like that you're going to build confidence because you're going to realize an a new unlock like that's a who i could do that i didn't know i had within me what else exactly it's like exactly summer of growth right now that i'm in where like i'm
i'm i'm playing pickleball for the first time i'm golfing for the first like i'm doing all these different things because not for anything else other than I want to see how I can, who am I going to be on the other side of it?
Like, what can I unlock about myself?
And then learning, there's so much out there that you don't know, you might love.
So
you might meet that you might love.
Like, you don't know until you start stepping into the uncertainty.
And it can be incredibly scary on that front end, which I'm sure you had trepidation on the front end.
But the other thing that I hear you saying is you're also giving yourself grace during it.
And I think that's the most important things we can do.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think that, you know, my mentality is usually all in or or out like there's no middle grounds but i think because there's so many moving pieces i have to make sure i'm prioritizing the main things which is always going to be my family first and then also having in there my role that i play as a business owner my role that i play as a friend my role that i play my my family and my grandmother is going through some health things right now so making sure i'm flying back to you know philly on Sunday and Monday for like a one-day trip.
Like there's just a lot of moving pieces.
And so for me, I'm like, I want want to be able to show up in a way that feels good and feels right and not feel like I'm sacrificing what's the most important to me in the process.
Because then what's the point?
Meet a different guest each week.

Exclusion supply.
I asked you to try to find your passion.
I love that you're a coach, you're a productivity coach, but you also employ a coach for yourself.
How does that work?
Yes, yes.
So similar to when I was competing as Mrs.
Florida International and then I went on and won Mrs.
International, I hired a coach.
Like I really, really believe that if you want to have success in any area, I don't care if it's parenting, if it's business, if it's fitness, it doesn't matter what it is, go to someone who knows that department, right?
So like for me, I had never competed in a pageant before.
I hired someone that had competed in that pageant.
I never had competed in the WBFF before.
I hired a coach that had competed in that system before.
So I'm going to the people that are kind of like the keys to help me unlock that level of success where I've never been.
So you have to humble yourself and be like, I don't know it all.
In order for me to get to that level, there's some things or actually a lot of things I have to learn in the process to become that version.
So in the process of doing that, I have to learn from someone who's been there, done it, and can show me the way.
Too often for everyone listening right now, people understand, well, of course, if you're in the NBA, you have a coach.
Well, if you're in the NFL, you have a coach.
If you're a professional athlete, you have a coach.
But too often people, especially if you came up in corporate America, because coaching wasn't popular in
or when I was in corporate America, right?
I had never heard about people hiring coaches.
It just wasn't happening.
There might be, you had a sales manager or whatever, and you're supposed to learn whatever from them.
And that was, that was it.
But the reality is there are coaches for everything.
And the bottom line is never take advice or direction from someone who hasn't been where you want to go.
Do your due diligence.
Make sure the people have done the things you want to do.
And then they're going to give you the roadmap and cheat sheet to get there
a lot faster than they did.
So tell us some of the things that you are coaching people on, some of the challenges you see them facing.
Yeah.
So a lot of my ladies, whether I'm working with them one-on-one or in my high performance academy, they are going after really big business goals.
They're also going after really big personal goals.
So some of them are doing things as like building communities, right?
Like they may be tapping into another level of building out their communities.
And they're like, Sandy, I see what you're doing with events or coaching or your courses.
And I want to do something similar, maybe different audience, but similar in the sense of like what they're building out.
Same thing with also in the space of just the pageant world.
I have pageant clients that are, that are moms, that are wives, that are business owners, but they want a coach specifically for the pageant world.
But the common thread thread with all my clients is they have really big goals and they don't want to lose the main thing in the process, meaning themselves, their families, like what is at the root of that, right?
So it's learning how to implement.
You mentioned my S3 framework.
So that's the system strategy and support, building in the right systems, building a strategy.
Cause sometimes people go in, they're like, I have these really big goals, but there's no strategy behind it.
There's no system behind it.
Like I want my business working and operating for me when I'm not working and operating in my business.
So those are things like automations, delegations, building out your team, your CRM, your funnels, like all the things that, you know, some people might be listening and like, what is she even talking about?
This is like another language, but it's essentially just building your business in a way that supports your life versus having everything in your business control you, where you go, what you do, when you can vacation or not.
It's allowing you to build a life, to build a life that you get to live with whatever you want to do, your family your friends your travel your big goals that you want to achieve because we also got to go out there and make an impact but also make an income and doing it in a way that feels right that you get to honor all of those areas one of the things that blows me away about you is the wife and mother that you are on top of all the other you know personal success that you have because you don't oftentimes my friends are either stay-at-home moms or they have businesses, but it's very rare that I see someone finding success on both sides, probably because it just takes more time.
It's harder, et cetera.
You know, it definitely isn't, it's not that common, right?
So one of the things that I've noticed about you is you time block.
What role has that played in you being efficient and effective on both sides?
Oh my gosh, it's everything.
It's so funny.
I just had a conversation with my brother a couple of days ago and he's like, you schedule everything.
And I'm like, I schedule like when I shower.
Like you were going to look at my calendar.
Like my, because my team, you know, they're in my calendar.
They're in my schedule.
And everything from the workout is in there to when I'm showering, when I'm taking the kids to school or picking them up, when I'm eating, like I know to some people, this sounds extreme.
And I'm a very visual person.
So I need to see like on my schedule, on my calendar, like where are these chunks of time, you know?
And so that alone allows me to get laser focused on like being in the work, like really in like the deep work of the business, but also having the fun time, you know, having the date night with my husband or going and playing.
We're like yesterday, we did a fun day, day a pool day on a tuesday with a friend and her daughter and my boys and like that was scheduled on the calendar for like two months you know so everything is on there and i know it sounds crazy but it's again that is one of the systems that allows me to do all of these things and make it all work and not be so sporadic i mean i used to live in a world many years ago where everything was fly by the seat of your pants.
Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't.
And that was just like too chaotic for me.
I hated living there.
There was nothing productive about that.
And so it's shifted into what it is now.
And this is why I'm able to say yes to the right opportunities, because I know where I can fit it and what makes sense.
Well, one of the other things I love about you
into this the other day was Most people, myself included, you see things as like, there's just norms that you accept, right?
Like
going to this school or your kid in this program or like whatever, this is the way people do it.
You are constantly reimagining or trying to think, is there another or a better way to do it?
Talking about the boys with school, like, is there a different way to do this?
And I just like that idea of challenging, you know, the standard thinking, the standard way of everybody, of everybody doing something.
What is it about you?
Or like, why have you found success in that way?
Because it seems to really be working for you.
Yeah, I think, you know, I grew up with an entrepreneurial family.
Even from a very young age, it was never like,
let someone tell you what to do.
Like, you go figure it out, you know, like that might be one way that works for someone, but it can work differently for you.
So I think it's funny because I teach our kids this, like I tell them, and look, my parents may not agree with me here, but this is, this is what we are talking to our kids about, which is like not all adults.
know what is right for you.
Meaning like my kids, if they're going to go up to an adult and ask them a question, the answer that they get probably and most of the case, most likely will not be the answer.
I'm like, just because they're an adult doesn't mean that they're right, like, which is so true.
So I think that starts at a young age, being able to pick up on those things, being able to make your own judgment calls calls and trusting yourself like i trust myself even when i make a wrong decision i will get myself back on track meet a different guest each week
confidence clearly
confidence query i ask you to try to find your passion
so is that intuition like for everyone listening like how do you because for many people that's a contrarian way of thinking i know that you know that but yeah
even for me like when we talked specifically about your son's schools and you were like, I was kind of reimagining, like, is there a different way to do this?
And I thought, wow, I never stopped to think about that.
And I really love the way you were seeing it.
So how do you help coach people into that different way of thinking?
Yeah, well, I think number one, you have to know yourself first.
I think that, you know, personally, I've done a lot of work on myself to know my personality.
I know what I'm sticky in.
Like, I know the bullheadedness in me, like the things that I know that are probably an asset and a liability, some of these, you know, things, like I've got to know myself.
And I think each of us have to know ourselves well enough to know where our strengths and our weaknesses are.
So that being said, like.
If you're going to make a decision, whether it's for yourself, your business, your kids, whatever area of life it is for you, you've got to know yourself well enough to know where those strengths and weaknesses are.
And I'm very lucky because I have a partner that sees the world in a similar way that I do, that's not willing to stay in a box.
Like we're not, we're like, okay, this might make sense for people that are putting their kids in a public school, private school, whatever it is.
We've done that.
We've tried it.
And we're like, you know what?
Let's try something else.
And again, not to say that our way is the way of doing things.
For us, this is what we've decided is right for us.
So again, being able to challenge the norm, trust yourself.
And also know that like you can pivot.
If you've made a wrong decision and you're like, oh my gosh, like this was not the right decision.
Like again, perfect example.
We had the kids in a, in kind of like a tutoring, homeschooling thing last year.
like we got kind of halfway through the year and we're like don't love this let's change for next year and now we're changing and going a different direction and knowing that that's okay like if i'm not evolving and growing and learning like then i actually feel like i'm failing because i know sometimes people will be like i don't want to even try because i'll fail and i'm like well if i'm not like putting myself in these uncomfortable situations i feel like i'm failing We think so similarly because that's why I'm doing this whole summer of growth.
I'm like, okay, I've done this.
I've done this.
I've done check those boxes i'm like what can i do next it's i love this by the way this is amazing but it's because of that mentality if i'm not getting scared that means i plateaued and for me personally that takes me back to where i was gosh 15 years ago and i had plateaued it and i wasn't growing and i was i call it circling the drain nobody knows you're doing it no one can see it but you're just kind of going through the motions and you're not so
scared you're like oh my gosh how am i going to do oh my gosh i'm getting i'm getting nervous if you don't feel like that you're going to start circling a drain at some point.
And then people get stuck there.
So you've got to pull a separate board and say no more.
And as ridiculous as it is, when I walked out onto the tennis court for the first time in my life, a couple of weeks ago at my friend's country club, which sounds so like, oh, Heather, like, I'm sure you were amazing at it.
I did not know if I was going to be good at it.
I did not know if I was going to be terrible.
I started getting sweaty palms.
My heart.
There was nothing for me to lose.
It wasn't a competition.
Right.
Interesting thing.
It teaches you about yourself.
I still get nervous when I do new things.
So I need to put myself into uncomfortable situations so I can get better and better at that.
So for everyone, the question you brought up is your husband.
I love your husband.
He's an amazing human being, separate from you and just on his own.
Great, great person.
You both have such strong personalities.
You both are very similar, like on the outside, looking in type A, you know, achievers, right?
Very strong personalities.
How do you come together as a team instead of compete?
Because I would think looking at personalities personalities like you and knowing relationships like that, and sometimes that can be a default for people.
How do you ensure that doesn't happen in your marriage?
Yeah, well, I think that our marriage has evolved a lot.
I mean, we've been together for 12 years and my husband's very easygoing, does not like confrontation, is very like, again, and if people know him, they know he's like, he's like the fun, happy guy.
Like he's just, he's such a great, fun person to be around.
So he never wants to be in conflict.
He's always trying to like just be happy and not have conflict in his life.
So that definitely helps like having that mindset.
And so when you have two people that are high achievers and also a lot going on, by the way, like that is also another reason why our calendar is mapped out a year ahead of time.
We look at it, you know, every week.
Like we're really intentional about it.
I think that two things, both people need to know they're on the same team.
Like we're not fighting each other.
We're not trying to combat each other.
We're not trying to compete with each other.
Like we have a saying in our family and our kids know it too.
And it's team gland.
And we do this little like, you know, all hands go in like team gland.
Like it's a fun little thing that the boys know if they're fighting.
We're like, are you being team glant right now?
Like, are you on, are you like helping your brother?
Are you helping your mom or your dad?
So they know it is part of who we are.
And that is being helpful and just like those things I explained.
So again, having someone on the team, on your team that you know, that is going to be there for you and support you no matter what.
Like if he has something going on, he's like, babe, by the the way i gotta go you know i think he's going to atlanta like over the weekend he's like it just popped up on the calendar okay go i got the kids but by the way the next day like i gotta go so you know
so having that being reciprocated and also like he wants me to go after my dreams i want him to go after his dreams i want to be his biggest cheerleader you know and i know he wants that for me so i think at the end of the day like our core values are rooted in we're very, very similar in just being cut from the same cloth of family first and knowing that we've got each other's back.
Like I'm going to support you, you're going to support me.
And even as crazy as life can get, like, just come back to that.
And we're both very lucky because we've, in our own lives, like my in-laws and my parents have, I think they actually both have been married for the same amount of time.
I think it's been 41 years, both of them.
So we have a good roadmap.
Yeah, we have a good roadmap of like seeing that in our own lives and and then taking from that what we want to replicate and then also creating what we want of our own.
Again, only taking direction from those that know they've been the place that you want to go.
You want to be married for 40 plus years.
And so you're taking direction from that.
I love that.
All right.
So talk to us about what you have coming up because I know you always have big things coming up.
Oh my gosh, so many things that I'm so excited to share with you.
So as I mentioned, I'm going to try and do these in chronological order, but I might not.
So let's see what happens.
So the first thing coming up, we have July 10th, which is going to be a very fun.
We're calling it walk, work, sleigh, which is like a workout, posing.
Again, this is like for my girls, whether you want to get on stage or not.
Like you want to do a competition, you want to do a pageant, or you're just taking some selfies and you're like, how do I pose?
How do I stand?
you know, et cetera.
So I'm teaming up with Amanda Ferreira.
She's my, you know, fitness coach.
So we're doing that July 10th.
That'll be all over my social media for tickets, et cetera.
Also, we're going to be doing that with Stormy.
So Stormy, like as of today, jumped on board.
She's like, I want to go in.
I want to do it with you ladies.
So we're all doing this together.
Again, July 10th.
Then we have, okay, so that's July 10th.
August 8th to 9th is in Miami here, the WBFF Worlds Competition that myself, Amanda, and actually a couple of my pageant girls, clients, friends are also competing in for the first time.
So so proud of them.
They're going to be competing on the amateur stage and then I'll be competing for the first time now as a pro on the pro stage, which is like, again, we're very focused for the next two months.
And then,
okay, so that's August, September 25th.
Kelly Roach and I, and also Heather, we're going to be sprinkling you.
We're going to be talking about this with you as well.
We have a big 200 women's event called Call to Lead on September 25th.
Oh my gosh, a lot of things coming up this summer for you.
So exciting.
How can everybody find you how can they sign up how can they work with me how does it work yes okay so following me on social media is the best place that's where i announce all the events all the upcoming you know kelly and i are doing a live together i think it's next week actually at on july 10th it's going to be my cover magazine feature reveal party as well so we're going to do that i think we're capping it at 50 people we did this before about a year ago and we had to cap it at 50 just because it's in my home it's in my my private residence.
So it's in my home.
It's going to be DJ workout, like all the fun things.
We're going to have live interviews for TV show here.
Like it's going to be very, very fun.
So my social media at Sandy Glant is the best place to connect with me to like get the tickets.
And if they want to go deeper inside the high performance academy, they can head over to sandraglant.com forward slash academy, sign up with us there.
And then weekly, they'll join us in the weekly calls, the membership events that we're doing, and like all the fun things that we have going on there.
The key is always to get around the people doing the things that you aspire to do so that you can start challenging yourself and holding yourself accountable to do it.
Sandy is definitely one of the people making those things happen.
Sandy, thank you so much for being here.
I can't wait to work on this event with you.
We will be coming back to you with more details.
Until next week, people, keep creating your confidence.
You know what I will be.
I decided to change that dynamic.
I couldn't be more excited for what you're gonna hear.
Start learning and growing.
Inevitably, something will happen.
No one succeeds alone.
You don't stop and look around once in a while.
You could miss it.
Come on this journey with me.
