Hi, I'm Willoughb Haskin, the host of Decodering, Slate's podcast about cracking cultural mysteries.

And we're back with a new set of episodes.

We're looking at kissing, the romantic, sexy kind that's so ingrained it seems like something people everywhere have always done.

But what if they haven't?

Wait, what?

What do they do?

Do they hug?

We're also gonna dive into the mosh pit to find out if alongside the aggressive swirl of flying elbows, there might be some order.

Well, the first rule is: if you don't want to be in the goddamn mosh pit, get the hell out of the way.

And then we're going to sniff around one of Italy's best-known cheeses to ask a real doozy, where is the most authentic parmesan in the world being made?

If you want to eat the original Parmigiano like our great-great parents used to eat it, you have to go to Wisconsin.

You can hear these episodes and more in the new season of Decodering, wherever you listen to podcasts.
