Speaker 2 Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Nora Rahm. Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene posted online yesterday that she's resigning from the House of Representatives in January.
Speaker 2 She was a strong supporter of President Trump, but has criticized him on some subjects, including his one-time resistance to the release of files relating to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Speaker 2 Trump called her a traitor. Green says she's been loyal to the president.
Speaker 3 Standing up for American women who were raped at 14 years old, trafficked, and used by rich, powerful men, should not result in me being called a traitor and threatened by the president of the United States, whom I fought for.
Speaker 2 She said she doesn't want her sweet district to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against her brought by the President of the United States.
Speaker 2 Wall Street had a rough week as investors sought reassurance about whether the artificial intelligence boom is more than just a bubble. NPR's Maria Aspen reports.
Speaker 4 All eyes were on NVIDIA this week. The chip company has become a bellwether for the artificial intelligence frenzy, and it's now the most valuable company in the world.
Speaker 4 On Wednesday, it dropped another blockbuster report card, telling investors it made another $32 billion in profit in just three months.
Speaker 4 But will all the computer chips NVIDIA is selling actually transform the economy? Investors are increasingly worried that all the money companies are spending on AI won't pay off in the long term.
Speaker 4 That would be a rude awakening for the stock market, which has been hitting record highs this year thanks to the soaring value of tech stocks, and particularly AI-related companies.

Speaker 2 European and Western allied leaders attending the G20 summit in South Africa are expressing concerns over aspects of a U.S. peace plan for Ukraine.
Speaker 2 Kate Bartlett reports the leaders issued a statement saying the plan needs more work.
Speaker 5 The 28-point plan released by the Trump administration Friday has raised concerns in Kyiv and European nations for seeming to favor Russia.
Speaker 5 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said the plan places Ukraine in a difficult position.
Speaker 5 It foresees the country handing over territory to Russia while offering limited security guarantees to Ukraine.
Speaker 5 The statement released on the sidelines of the G20 was signed by several European leaders, plus the leaders of Canada and Japan.
Speaker 5 It welcomed the US peace efforts but said, quote, borders must not be changed by force. Proposed limitations on Ukraine's armed forces would leave Ukraine vulnerable to future attack, it added.

The U.S. is not attending the G20 summit this year.
President Trump says the host, South Africa, discriminates against its white farmers. This is NPR News in Washington.
Speaker 2 Brazil's Supreme Court today ordered former President Jair Bolsonaro taken into custody. He's been on house arrest while he appeals his conviction for leading an attempted coup.
Speaker 2 The court said there was evidence of tampering with the former president's ankle monitor.
Speaker 2 Bolsonaro had been sentenced to 27 years in prison for plotting a coup after he lost the 2022 presidential election.
Speaker 2 Severe tropical storm FINA intensified to a Category 3 storm yesterday as it approached Australia. Christina Kukolo reports.
Speaker 6 Residents in the coastal city of Darwin and surrounding areas are on alert for a night of destructive weather as FINA brings heavy downpours and gale-force winds to the coastline.
Speaker 6 Darwin's international airport and local businesses across the city have closed, and hundreds of people are reportedly being housed in emergency shelters.
Speaker 6 FINA is not expected to make landfall on the mainland. It is forecast to pass north of Darwin's coastline as it moves towards the Timor Sea.
Speaker 6 Destructive winds have already hit remote communities in the Tiwi Islands. Category 3 tropical cyclones are two levels below the highest danger rating.
Speaker 6 For NPR News, I'm Christina Kukola in Melbourne, Australia.

More than 100 firefighters are battling ablaze on a container ship in the Port of Los Angeles. It broke out yesterday below deck and caused an explosion.
No injuries were reported.
Speaker 2 People in nearby communities have been ordered to shelter in place because of hazardous materials on the ship. It's not clear what started the fire.
Speaker 2 The Port of Los Angeles is the busiest seaport in North America. I'm Nora Rahm, NPR News in Washington.
