Speaker 6 During this beautiful conversation, not only did she read both of our charts, but she looked at our mom's chart too, and so much more.

Speaker 6 And I just have to say it, it was a very emotional journey for my sister and I from the very beginning until the very end.

Speaker 6 Eliza, in her own magical way, brought mom even closer to us.

Speaker 7 It just amplified how connected we truly are. So with all of that said, let's dive in.

Speaker 6 Oh my gosh, we are beyond thrilled, Elisa, to have you on So Supernatural. You are such a world-renowned astrologer, and I have been dying, dying to have my chart read by you.

Speaker 6 We were going back trying to think about when was the last time I actually had my chart read. And it probably was, you know, when our mother was still alive.

Speaker 6 So that was probably, I don't know, like 30 some years ago. I must have had, I must have been in my 20s, right, Rasha?

Speaker 7 I mean, you, I don't know if you were there, but I wasn't there, but I remember that you had it done. I personally have never had my chart read ever, even though I totally believe in it.

Speaker 6 But our mom always, always always believed in all things supernatural in astrology in the stars in numbers all of the things yeah she she actually walked around with those little ruins you know in her bag and she had a book where she would sit down and once she got into a conversation with someone she would read their chart for them so we've always been around the mystical magical all of it so it's so exciting to have you here and to actually be reading our charts for us today.

Speaker 6 So welcome to So Supernatural.

Speaker 1 Thank you so much. I'm so excited to be here with you guys.

Speaker 1 And it's an honor to be able to look at your charts and to learn your story and to explore how these narratives and how this energy shows up from the position of the planets, celestial points, at these pivotal moments of arrival, at connection, stories that that we weave through family lines, but also stories we weave through just sort of the interconnectedness of life, right?

Speaker 1 Like astrology is just so, such an amazing way of being able to add dimension and make meaning out of things that we already know are meaningful and to find more points of understanding for these special experiences.

Speaker 6 Yeah, you're so right. I had a, you know, I have so many questions in my head to ask you, but one of the questions I wanted to ask is, do you believe in fate?

Speaker 6 Or do you believe that if you live by your astrological sign, right, and what is in your chart, that that is predestined?

Speaker 1 So I believe in purpose very much. And I do believe that purpose is sort of the more, perhaps the more embodied, the more active expression of fate and destiny.

Speaker 1 I believe that our souls choose our arrival time with complete intention.

Speaker 1 And we see this played out in all of our charts, you know, like, do I have these qualities in my chart because I was always going to have these circumstances and conditions that I would need to be able to have the fortitude to navigate, you know, or do I find myself in these situations because I have the fortitude to navigate them?

Speaker 1 And the answer is both, right? Like your soul chose to have this unique experience of one's life.

Speaker 1 And within that is the perfect chart constructed in the perfect way to support somebody in that endeavor.

Speaker 1 So I believe that the more that we learn about ourselves through astrology, but broadly too, the more we learn about ourselves, the more we believe ourselves, the more we believe in ourselves, the more that we give ourselves permission to be the full expression of who we are, the more that we are in alignment with our purpose and therefore more in alignment with our destiny.

Speaker 6 Ooh, I was right on the money.

Speaker 7 So deep, Louisa.

Speaker 1 It's deep, but it's fun, you know, like how fun for us all to have a journey, you know? And in that journey, for us to have this opportunity to get to know what we are here to do.

Speaker 1 And and for some people, you know, it doesn't need to be laced in late stage capital

Speaker 1 ways of finding validation and recognition. You know, we don't need to hit a Forbes 30 under 30 list or a 40 under 40 list in order for us to be in our purpose.

Speaker 1 You know, like our purpose can just simply be choosing to be kind

Speaker 1 after having come from a long line of people who couldn't control their anger or rage, right?

Speaker 7 Right.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 A purpose could be just making the choice to break a generational pattern and approach life differently or do a different type of healing or show up in a way in your community that feels really active and engaged in whether that's the smallest town or the largest city, right?

Speaker 1 Like there are so many ways for us to tap into our purpose.

Speaker 7 I love that you say that, Elisa, because it always makes Yvette and I so sad knowing that our beautiful mother, Fauna Hodel, was only on this earth for 66 years.

Speaker 7 And so

Speaker 7 she knew from the time she was eight years old that her life's purpose was to tell her life story to the world because she wanted to truly make the world a better place.

Speaker 7 And when you said be kind, that I believe was her purpose in telling the world everything that she had been through.

Speaker 7 So I would would love if you could walk us through a little bit of mom's birth chart. I know that you've prepared it.

Speaker 1 So Thana, born August 1st, 1951 at 10.15 p.m.

Speaker 1 Thana is a Leo sun, a Leo moon, a Pisces rising.

Speaker 1 And that's what we call the big three in astrology.

Speaker 7 Oh.

Speaker 1 So the big three is,

Speaker 1 you know, it's been a delight over these years.

Speaker 1 It's been 12 years since I've been practicing to see how understanding and sort of sharing one's sun, moon, and rising has become more and more ubiquitous. It's become more and more commonplace.

Speaker 1 It used to just be share your sun sign, which is fine. We can work with that, right? Just your just your sign is, we can, we can handle it.

Speaker 1 But from an astrological perspective, even these three touch points give us wonderful information that we can start understanding the complexities of who someone is.

Speaker 1 So your sun represents the way you shine.

Speaker 1 It's how you walk into a room, how you take up space. It's what makes you happy.
It's what keeps you alive. It's sort of your

Speaker 1 aura, your essence, your energy. Your moon represents what you feel on the inside.

Speaker 1 And I love to think of the sun and moon because we can really anchor ourselves with these celestial bodies as we understand them. The sun is so steady.
It's so consistent.

Speaker 1 You know, we always know it's going to be a circle. It's going to show up.
It's going to be bright even on a cloudy day. It's going to be daytime.

Speaker 1 You know, like we, we have this very reliable solar energy, which is also what the sun in our chart is. It's a very reliable, consistent sort of expression of self.

Speaker 1 The moon, just like the moon in the sky, changes. It's elusive.
It's mysterious. Sometimes you're looking for it and you're like, I can't find it.
I don't even know. Is the moon even out? Right.

Speaker 1 And then you see it and you're like, ooh, what a weird little freaky shape it's in. Or like, oh, it's a big full moon.
No one can resist being like, oh, look at that full moon. You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 So the moon shows how we feel and what our internal internal experiences.

Speaker 1 And just like our feelings, the moon is, you know, it's mysterious and it's changing and it might feel one way one day and another way another.

Speaker 1 But your moon sign is going to give you a sense of when I'm in bed reflecting on my day, what are the things that I keep coming back to? What's coming up for me?

Speaker 1 And then the final placement of this big three to mention is the rising sign, the ascendant.

Speaker 1 Now, the rising sign, aka the ascendant, is what zodiac sign was coming up at your exact moment of birth, what was coming up over the eastern horizon,

Speaker 1 your quote-unquote dawn, right? Like,

Speaker 1 and this placement is so important

Speaker 1 because it shows

Speaker 1 your unique perspective on reality, the themes that you are going to encounter over and over again in your life, and basically like what your mission is, right?

Speaker 1 Like, your mission is embedded in that rising sign. And then your sun and your moon are acting that mission.
They're bringing that mission to life.

Speaker 1 And I want to share this with all with you both because we're going to talk about your charts, but also with our listeners, because understanding the power and the significance of these placements, I think, can, for so many of us, just begins to unlock the multi-dimensionality that all of us have in our lives.

Speaker 1 That we exude differently than we feel, and that our mission might not be the same as our feelings or the way we exude, right? There could be these interesting dimensions between them.

Speaker 1 And I think that this is, I say this thing called tank, which means there are no coincidences. And tank is, you know, your mother, I think,

Speaker 1 a perfect embodiment from what I know of her, of her big three.

Speaker 1 A sun in Leo, a moon in Leo, which means she was born during a new moon. So she was born when the sun and moon were in the same point in the sky.
Those are the beginning of a lunar cycle.

Speaker 1 We'll talk about that in just a moment, but that Pisces rising.

Speaker 1 So as a Pisces rising, Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac.

Speaker 7 Oh, I didn't realize that.

Speaker 1 Pisces is, you know, we started Aries. We go all the way through until we get to Pisces, the 12th, the final sign.
And as we go through the zodiac, we go from sort of the material world into the

Speaker 1 abstract, the non-material, the astral realm. It becomes increasingly sort of large-scale, existential, psychic.
Pisces as the last sign is as psychic as they get.

Speaker 1 You don't get more psychic than Pisces. You don't get more existential than Pisces.
You don't get more big feeling between worlds than Pisces.

Speaker 1 And I have goosebumps and I feel like I'm already starting to get emotional here.

Speaker 7 I know.

Speaker 7 That's true.

Speaker 1 Pisces is also like

Speaker 1 it exists between realms, you know? Yeah.

Speaker 1 It's two fish swimming in opposite directions is the symbol of it. And, you know, astrologers and philosophers can sort of contemplate, well, what are the, what's that two?

Speaker 1 Is it the past and the future? Is it reality and fantasy? Whatever it is, it's duality, right? It's a duality of life and a duality of existence.

Speaker 1 And Pisces is also ruled by a planet Neptune, which in astrology is associated with the entertainment industry as well as with illusion and delusion and confusion.

Speaker 1 From what I know, and I would love for you to share for maybe our listeners some of the things you shared with me about your mom and her story, but it's, you know, that the duality, the mysticism, even obviously the glamour and the entertainment and the possibilities of that and the excitement, but then also the confusion and the

Speaker 1 elusiveness and, you know, thinking things are what they aren't, you know, all of that is so on the nose with having that be the themes of her life, her experience and part of her purpose.

Speaker 6 Wow, that is so deep. Our mother, like we said earlier, she was the biggest, brightest light on the planet.

Speaker 6 And I used to always say she was beyond her time, you know, like she knew more than she should have known because what you're saying right now makes so much sense, you know? She had that duality.

Speaker 6 But what you just said, like I think about the struggle because you could look at my mother and she would look like she had everything, you know, she was on top of the world.

Speaker 6 She was, everything was going her way, but deep down inside, there was still that, that wounded little girl who was given away, you know, at birth and was still searching for that love.

Speaker 6 And I think that's, that was always a struggle, but yet she pushed that down and

Speaker 6 chose to shine brighter than that and make a difference on this earth, you know, which is a very, very hard thing to do, you know, and she did it as gracefully as she could.

Speaker 6 So what you're saying, like, lands so, so deep for me, you know, because she had me when she was 15 years old. So I've seen her on her journey for so, so long,

Speaker 6 going through all the trials and the tribulations, but yet never giving up and still persevering to the end, you know, till the very last

Speaker 7 breath.

Speaker 7 And it's interesting, Elisa, that you were saying almost like she was in two parallel worlds almost, because

Speaker 7 truly, and like Yvette has said to me many times in the past, like our mom came into this world an angel and she left an angel. And I think she was always somewhere between the two realms.
Yeah.

Speaker 7 And we became very close. with Patty Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman, Monster, I am the Night.

Speaker 7 She directed our mom's limited series that was loosely based in our mom's life.

Speaker 7 And Patty told us that the day she emailed us, remember Yvette? The day that mom died and she said, I know that your mom is just on another plane. She's still with us.

Speaker 7 She's going to watch us every step of the way bring her story to life.

Speaker 7 We are sitting here with you, Elisa, because

Speaker 7 of our mom's lifelong dream to tell her story about being given away at birth to an African-American family, thinking she was biracial until she was in her 20s when she met her birth mother on that beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Speaker 7 And

Speaker 7 she knew she had to tell the world her story way before she knew

Speaker 7 that she came from

Speaker 7 something that was so evil.

Speaker 7 You know, when she met her mother on the beach and she was told, one, that she wasn't biracial, that was life-shattering for her because her whole life she thought that she was biracial.

Speaker 7 And she was also told that she

Speaker 7 came from someone who might have been a murderer and that he killed Elizabeth Short, also known as the Black Dahlia.

Speaker 7 And our mom had the most loving and caring and bright shining light in her life. And she was that bright shining light in her life.
And she had to create it

Speaker 7 from nothing. And

Speaker 7 I'll get emotional thinking about it, but knowing that her life's purpose and her life's dream didn't come to fruition. Like she signed the deal with Patty Jenkins 11 days before she died.

Speaker 7 We were on set six weeks after she died from breast cancer and breast cancer came and

Speaker 7 took her physically away from us. So we're trying to figure out like,

Speaker 7 why are we here? Why, what are we supposed to be doing?

Speaker 7 Because, of course, Yvette and I each have our own lives and our own missions on this planet, but we want to fulfill our mom's mission, which was of kindness and of love because she

Speaker 7 experienced so much heartache and racism and

Speaker 7 so many things.

Speaker 7 And she truly, truly, truly created from

Speaker 7 nothing. Yeah.

Speaker 1 You know, I would say that you know your mom being a double leo here with her sun and moon and leo leo is zodiac royalty and but it's also you know it's it's ruled by the sun so there is this elegance and this regality to it but it also is about courage you know it's about the fortitude the strength and recognizing you know the sun does can't take a break right the sun isn't other than during eclipses eclipses which maybe we'll talk about it

Speaker 1 later today but the only time that the sun is ever compromised is you know in these very it during that um lunar phenomena right otherwise the sun is the sun and the sun has to shine no matter what a rainy day a day where there's a volcano eruption whatever it is like the sun is like well i'm behind it i'm it's daytime you know i'm making it daytime and that courage that is so part of the leo experience i love the relationship between leo and pisces um

Speaker 1 because to me the visual is the sun reflecting on on an on the ocean and on the surface of the ocean and think of how when those two are when that energy because pisces is represented by the ocean so when you have the sun in Leo and the moon in Leo in your mom's case too

Speaker 1 and they're they're reflecting their light sources onto that big horizon of water, that big sort of expanse of the sea, it can intensify the light too, right?

Speaker 1 It can expand even what that solar radiance is.

Speaker 1 And I think that one of the things that both Leo and Pisces have in common is that they are delusional enough to make life beautiful against all odds, right?

Speaker 7 Uh, you just nailed her mom

Speaker 7 to a T.

Speaker 7 Even, even, oh my God, in her last few days on this earth, like we never told her that she was dying from breast cancer.

Speaker 7 Like, they told us that she probably had three months to live when we had her in home, um, in hospice, but she lasted eight days, even.

Speaker 6 Yeah,

Speaker 7 yeah.

Speaker 7 But even to the end, she was like, why are you guys sad? Like, I'm, I'm going to be on set in a few weeks. Like, you don't have to cry.
I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to live until I'm 99.

Speaker 6 She's like, I got work to do.

Speaker 1 And, you know, she, and she still is working, right?

Speaker 7 She still is. And she was certainly on set with you.

Speaker 1 And I think that it was a pretty easy thing for your mom to transition, actually,

Speaker 1 for her energy and for looking at her birth chart. I'm not, not to say, not to be callous or to say that too casually, of course.
You know, it's not an easy thing for anyone.

Speaker 7 Oh, of course not.

Speaker 1 No, no. But it's, I do think that your mom is was so of

Speaker 1 you know she was here but she was also so of of the astral you know that it's she can sort of comfortably be able to exist within multiple realms yes i recently have started to understand and this felt like a huge breakthrough in in the way that I can describe how, you know, I think we as, you know, our sort of existences have these different parts.

Speaker 1 There's your body, there's your soul, and there's your spirit. And the body sort of speaks for itself, right? That's the first thing, first thing that goes to.

Speaker 1 And then the spirit is sort of this bridge between the body and the soul. And the soul is the thing on a mission, right? The soul is what it continues its journey and it doesn't get caught up in,

Speaker 1 you know, hovering around and lingering too long because a soul's purpose is like divine, right?

Speaker 1 But a spirit can sort of be that bridge between and can stay with us. So that spirit, that space between those is what we are still connected to.
Spirit is what sends us signs and messages.

Speaker 1 Spirit is how we are able to continue to have that connection to who your mom is and not just the abstract soul that is doing the things the soul does.

Speaker 1 And I think for your mom to be able to navigate all of those different energies and realms, like she's a natural, like she's rated it.

Speaker 7 She can do it.

Speaker 1 And I think that you too, in in continuing to share her legacy and tell her story, she's obviously like,

Speaker 1 she's so proud of you. And she's so inspired.
And,

Speaker 1 you know, but I feel like, and I don't often get like downloads like this, but with your mom, I feel it's quite easy.

Speaker 1 I think that she also wants you to know that she's also inspired by you guys and any stories you want to tell, stories that might be her story, but other stories too.

Speaker 1 Like she just wants, she's so proud that you're podcasters who can tell stories. She thinks it's the coolest thing in the world, you know? It's like her legacy, right?

Speaker 1 It's her, it's the fact that you are both empowered to be able to share that. I think that that's, that feels like it's coming through very strongly for me to tell you as a message.

Speaker 1 And I also, I want to share something else with you because when we look at the rest of your charts, there's something that

Speaker 1 I kept seeing come up and there was actually one instance of it that took my breath away, which is the number 23.

Speaker 1 Your mom is a 23 degree Pisces rising. And as we look at the rest of the charts, we're going to see 23 come up over and over again as the connective tissue.
And I was doing some research on 23.

Speaker 1 and apparently it's, I mean, in numerology, it's a five is what it reduces to.

Speaker 1 But it's, it's a very mystical number. It's, it's a number that has a lot of deep mysticism connected to it.

Speaker 1 In fact, there's like apparently a Jim Carrey movie where Jim Carrey goes crazy around the number 23.

Speaker 6 Oh, with all the numbers. That's right.

Speaker 1 But that's because 23 has a lot of its own mysticism and magic and intention around it.

Speaker 1 So to me, just like seeing that pop up, and I'll share with you all of the 23s that we're going to see as we continue to go.

Speaker 1 It's cool to know that there is this sort of numerical that you can also use and that you can think about as well as it relates to the interconnectivity of the stories.

Speaker 7 I love that. And it almost makes me think too, mom's favorite number on the planet was 21.
21. But then if you add Yvette and I into that, it equals 23.

Speaker 7 So that's what I'm thinking. I'm like, oh my God, like, cause she loved 21, love, love, love 21.
Yvette loves seven. I love 33.
But I feel like 21 plus the two of us equals 23.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 And I wonder, you know, I feel like 21 also, like that could have been like the earthly manifestation. And then it's like,

Speaker 1 23 could almost become this touch point for you in this next, this next era, you know, this next chapter of building a relationship with your mom.

Speaker 7 Yes, the next era.

Speaker 6 You said so many powerful things, but I just want to backtrack.

Speaker 6 It's like when you were talking about Pisces and you're talking about the ocean and how the sun, you know, you see the glitter right from the sun and the glare on the water.

Speaker 6 That just, that just confirms to me why mom fell so hard and so deeply in love with Hawaii when she got there, because she was so drawn to it. You know what I mean?

Speaker 6 Not just because of what she was physically seeing, but it was so much deeper than she probably even knew at the time.

Speaker 6 You know, it just makes, it just, everything is like, you're just connecting all the dots for me on such a deep level.

Speaker 7 Making so much sense. Yeah.

Speaker 7 And she made a conscious decision to raise both of us in Hawaii, especially because, you know, I often joke about it, but I mean, Yvette is this beautiful biracial woman, and I'm a product of the first white guy mom ever slept with.

Speaker 7 So she knew that she was going to have two children that were going to look probably very different.

Speaker 7 And she wanted to raise them in a place where they wouldn't experience the racism that she went through in Reno, Nevada for being, well, of course, she thought she was biracial and she wasn't, but she was still treated as if she was half black.

Speaker 7 And so growing up in Hawaii was such a beautiful gift that she gave to Eva and me.

Speaker 6 And yes, I just think it goes even so much deeper than just that, you know, just listening to what Elise has been saying.

Speaker 6 Mom had the combination of both of those things, wanting to do better for her children, but at the same time, having that sick sense of wanting to be in a place that would illuminate her even more so, you know, on her path, on her mission, right?

Speaker 1 Right. Where she would be able to experience that expansion.

Speaker 7 Yeah. Oh, the expansion.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 So I want to share that there's one, you know, we're, and we'll talk about your charts and we'll keep telling our story here.

Speaker 1 But one of the things that I want to call out is where you both activate your mom's chart. And it's really beautiful.

Speaker 1 Yvette, as a Leo, you activate the area of your mom's chart. that is about, it's the domain associated with Leo and you're a Leo and she's a Leo, right?

Speaker 1 But it's the place of motherhood and but not motherhood from it's it's the fun place of motherhood.

Speaker 1 It's the place where we can also connect with our own inner child, where we can play, where we can find our creative activation and expression. And it it helps keep us young, right?

Speaker 7 openly gay people, mostly men. I don't remember any openly gay women growing up in Hawaii, but she always expanded that for us.

Speaker 7 You know, like I never felt any homophobia, even though I felt it from my biological father. But she

Speaker 7 loved that. That was like her next thing that she embraced.
She's like, I have a straight daughter. I have a gay daughter.
Like she,

Speaker 7 she was very proud.

Speaker 7 But then I started, you know, like teaching her and Yvette about like pronouns and different things, you know, all these, these things that were important to the LGBTQ plus community.

Speaker 7 And I, I, I hope that I, I've taught her just as much as she taught me.

Speaker 1 Yeah, well, she, you definitely, you made her feel like a cosmopolitan.

Speaker 7 I love it. You know,

Speaker 7 And especially, I'm so rooted in my Hawaiian culture, too.

Speaker 1 Yes, right. I mean, and it was, you know, it's the timing of your birth to, to be, to relocate there as a family makes a lot of sense, right?

Speaker 1 And I don't often see such beautiful positive activation, right?

Speaker 1 Like, we can talk about like, you know, even with me and my own daughter, like our charts are beautiful, but they're complex and they hit things that are really generational touch points and wounds from the past.

Speaker 1 And like, that's the work we need to do, you know, for many generations down the line.

Speaker 1 And not to say that that's not, there's not in incidents of that in your chart, but just solar activation for both of you, the way that you're a mom, it was just, it was just a lot of joy. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Just a lot of pleasure. Yeah.

Speaker 1 That wasn't her heavy stuff.

Speaker 1 Right. Being your mother was not her heavy stuff.

You know, she was so proud of both Rasha and I, and we were her joy, you know, just as she was our joy. So,

Speaker 6 yeah, that makes complete sense because I'm just, if you notice, I will giggle and laugh all the time.

Speaker 6 And, and my mom used to love looking at old pictures of me when I was a child, and I'd always be like, ha ha, because I'm one of those ones laughing.

Speaker 6 So, that is so deep. And then, Rasha is, you know, the brainiac of the family, which we all know.

Speaker 7 So,

Speaker 7 so I don't know if I say brainiac. Maybe I'm, I'm, even though I'm not technically a millennial, I'm definitely a millennial.
I'm a tech, I'm, I'm a techie.

Speaker 6 Right. She knows all the things that mom and I needed to learn.

Speaker 7 So

Speaker 7 this is true.

Speaker 1 You could be the brainiac. Take it.
Take it. Someone, they always have to have a brainiac.
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 7 Be proud of that, girl.

Speaker 7 I'm definitely a no-ceptor. for sure.

Speaker 7 Oh, my goodness. I love that you see that, like, even though obviously we have three separate birth charts.

Speaker 7 I mean, all three of us were born in different years and different cities and different times. Like, I love that there's connections between the three of us because it was always just the three of us.

Speaker 7 Yeah. And it still is, even though she's not physically here.
Like you said, like her spirit is here. I truly, truly, truly believe that.
And I want her spirit to to come and brush my hair.

Speaker 7 She said she would brush my hair after she passed away and she hasn't done it yet. She used to tell me that when I was a little girl.

Speaker 6 I was just thinking, Rasha, what Elisa said earlier. And you said that it was easy for mom to transition,

Speaker 6 you know, to leave this physical realm. For us, it was devastating.
It was beyond devastating.

Speaker 6 It was, for me, it was identity shattering for me because we were so attached, you know, and for Rasha as well.

Speaker 6 But what is really starting to click in my head right now is that Rasha, she kept saying, you know, I'm going to be here. I'm going to live till I'm 99.
I got work to do.

Speaker 6 She was doing that for us, not for her. Yeah.
But she was doing that for us to ease us into what was happening.

Speaker 7 Yeah. And her, her death was absolutely beautiful.
You know, like she

Speaker 7 finally transitioned. We switched the music in her room from

Speaker 7 RB to Hawaiian music.

Speaker 7 And, you know, she just fell asleep that last night and she just didn't wake up.

Speaker 7 And we adorned her with beautiful Hawaiian lei, Hawaiian flowers. And

Speaker 7 we even

Speaker 7 took a couple pictures of her post-mortem.

Speaker 7 And she just looked so peaceful and

Speaker 7 so beautiful, not like how she looked just 24 hours prior from the cancer, you know? Yeah.

Speaker 7 But yeah, you're right, Yvette. She probably definitely was doing that to soothe us.

Speaker 6 Yeah, 100%. That just, the light bulb just went off in my head at this very moment because

Speaker 6 in my gut, I knew she knew she had known this was going to happen. I don't know how to explain that, but she knew that that was coming.
And just the way that she handled it.

Speaker 6 And at the very end, it was still, like I said earlier, this upbeat, vivacious, you know, beautiful woman.

Speaker 6 You could, no makeup at all, no, you know, no red dye in her hair, just beautiful, like pristine, beautiful. And you would not believe that she was going to leave this earth.
You would not.

Speaker 7 And Elise, I have to say, it's so, so sweet that you said, you know, the positivity, because I remember like towards the end, you know, mom, she was completely coherent and talking to us and fine until less than 24 hours before she, she died.

Speaker 7 And I remember asking her, I'm like, mom, now I know you're not going anywhere because she kept saying she wasn't going anywhere.

Speaker 7 I know you're not going anywhere, but, you know, what do you want, you know, for me for the future?

Speaker 7 And she said, you know, Rasha, I want you to be more positive than I ever was.

Speaker 7 And I started laughing hysterically because I'm like, are you kidding me, mom? You were positivity on crack.

Speaker 7 How am I supposed to be more positive than you?

Speaker 7 But I think what she was really trying to tell me is I had to stay positive through all of the darkness that would come because, you know, we ended up, you know, having this beautiful thing

Speaker 7 called I Am the Night, this TV series about our mom's life that we were a part of every second of. And then they asked us to do a companion podcast to go with the TV show.

Speaker 7 And that's what led us to our dream job doing this today, right? We went from root of evil to facing evil to so supernatural.

Speaker 7 And now I know that we went through all of that. And she was telling me to stay positive through all of that because I ended up getting diagnosed with breast cancer just last year at the age of 45.

Speaker 7 And I'm coming up on my eighth surgery through breast cancer. And I've tried to stay positive through it all, but my beautiful sister Yvette has been my anchor through that.

Speaker 7 And I was with her on my one year anniversary of the day that I found out that I had cancer April 8th. I was with her April 8th, 2025, because I was diagnosed April 8th, 2024.

Speaker 7 And do you remember what you told me, Yvette? You're like, It was hard. It's been really hard, even though I caught it at an early stage, but it's been so hard.

Speaker 7 And she, Yvette allowed me to feel that darkness for a moment, but then mom came back in and was like, but you're here. You're alive.

Speaker 7 You're going to be, you know, more positive than I ever was. And now I know that I'm a living testament to who

Speaker 7 she was and is who she is.

Speaker 7 Yeah.

Speaker 7 Yeah.

Speaker 1 Rasha, do you know if it's the same cancer that your mom had had?

Speaker 7 It's not. So

Speaker 7 mom, she she tested negative for the BRCA gene.

Speaker 7 And I also tested negative. And

Speaker 7 we had two completely different breast cancers. Wow.
And, you know, we ended up finding because we always, I, excuse me, I shouldn't say we, because I know Yvette didn't feel this way.

Speaker 7 I always thought mom was the product of incest because there was incest through George Hodell, the, our great grandfather.

Speaker 7 But we found out a couple of years ago through 23 and me definitively that she wasn't.

Speaker 7 And so we know all of our medical history and cancer didn't run on either side of my family or on either side of mom's family. But yeah, I had DCIS, which is in the milk duct.

Speaker 7 And she was stage two, stage three,

Speaker 7 but she battled for a year and a half and did chemo radiation, but it quickly spread. So it metastasized really quickly.

Speaker 1 You know, I think I say tank, right? There's no coincidences. And the fact that this is a story that, you know, you escorted your mom through in these final years.

Speaker 1 And then not long after, you are navigating this yourself, but also doing so with the knowing of having had to already, you know, start having conversations around what does breast cancer treatment look like and how do what are these different options.

Speaker 1 And those words of your mom stay positive.

Speaker 7 I mean, that is powerful, powerful,

Speaker 1 and very prescient of what you would soon be navigating and why your positivity would actually make sense in the context of navigating your own illness.

Speaker 7 It's so funny, Aliza, because I never thought of that until today, having this conversation with the two of you.

It's so funny because I think a lot of people, because I share a lot and I've shared a lot for a very long time. I think really I've been

Speaker 7 open and vocal with the public since I was on the biggest loser back in 2006, the TV show. And

Speaker 7 I've just been unapologetically me. And I ended up coming out in 2009, just a few years later.
And so I've shared every part of the journey.

Speaker 7 And I know that can rub people the wrong way sometimes because I've tried to stay positive through most of it.

Speaker 7 But I believe the representation matters. So I think sharing your story matters no matter what it is so that you can help other people live their lives fully and authentically.

Speaker 7 And I definitely mess up a lot,

Speaker 7 but I try to own up to my mistakes as I go through them. But

Speaker 7 yeah, I'm definitely unapologetically me.

Speaker 6 Yeah, but find and in finding stability with that right like yeah that gives you yeah comfort to know that you don't have to hide yeah it's through you know growing up too yeah it's like i've watched you evolve um into this incredible badass woman who fully walks the walk in knowing who you are you know and and i so appreciate that i love that about her you know you if you would have asked me 15 years years ago when she was doing this, I would have rolled my eyes and been like, oh, yeah, that's Rasha.

Speaker 6 It's just telling everybody everything, which, you know, was fine for her, but it took me a while to be like, you know what? That is just who she is.

Speaker 6 Let her live and be who she is. So,

Speaker 7 yes, you, that.

Speaker 6 is 100% Rasha. Yeah.

Speaker 7 It's always made me feel better to share. And I know, again, through so much therapy that that's part of my trauma and my PTSD is I overshare sometimes

Speaker 1 but it just it truly makes me feel more stable makes me feel better and more grounded what is the like you know the the antithesis of oversharing is hiding right right is is is secret keeping and

Speaker 1 Sagittarians are truth tellers

Speaker 1 and a Sagittarius who my mom is also a Sagittarius my daughter of you know they hear some of the sandwiching, right? My

Speaker 7 Leo.

Speaker 1 I'm a Leo.

Speaker 7 You're a Leo too? Oh, I am. Yeah.

Speaker 1 And not everyone wants to know the whole story or wants the full details. And that's, I guess, where we could be like, oh, is this the right person to share this information with?

Speaker 1 But being in that frequency of truth telling, I think, is, a really beautiful and very spiritual vibration to be in.

Speaker 1 Sagittarius is one of the most spiritual signs of the zodiac that's often overlooked as a spiritual sign because it's a fire sign, but it's the passion of

Speaker 1 spirituality, right? It's the passion of learning, the passion of discovery, the passion of philosophy, of travel, of expansion, right?

Speaker 1 You need to have the passion in order for you to go on those journeys.

Speaker 7 Right.

Speaker 7 I love that so much. And I love, I am so, I've always been so drawn to Leos.

Speaker 7 So obviously, because my beautiful mother was a Leo, my beautiful sister is a Leo, our Uncle Michael is a Leo. Like, I just, I feel like we've always had this spiritual bond.

Speaker 6 And, and, and I feel like Leos are protectors. You know what I mean? They're, they're solid protectors.

Speaker 7 it's true I haven't pissed off my sister very many times in our lives but she always has my back anyway

Speaker 6 the most beautiful way, you know, but because like I said, my mom had me so young.

Speaker 6 So it was children raising children, basically, you know, and then when Rasha came along, she was like my, my baby, you know, so

Speaker 6 always, always felt like a mother for sure.

And, you know, I do think that there is like a beautiful, tender acknowledgement. And even when we're talking about your mother who gave life to both of you, who.

Speaker 1 raised you, who brought you into these special sacred spaces to give you the best life, but also the responsibility that I see in both of your charts, you know, and also honoring and acknowledging that as your experience as separate from your mom's too.

Speaker 1 Like there is a heaviness and a weightiness to being

Speaker 1 your caretaker's caretaker, you know?

Speaker 1 And that deserves acknowledgement in the truth telling and the storytelling of

Speaker 1 a full and holistic experience is that having a magical mother like you have isn't always easy, you know,

Speaker 1 it's a blessing and a burden, you know.

Speaker 1 It's not the same as having a mom, you know, in Minnesota who just is baking cookies and

Speaker 1 story, cookie storytelling. You know what I mean? Like, it's just not the same.
You had a mom who was a very unique mother to have. Yes.
Yeah. And it's a gift and it also is a lot to hold.

Speaker 7 I know. Can we pay you later?

Speaker 7 It's just like a therapy session. Yeah,

Speaker 6 it really is. It really is.
It's, yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 It comes up in both of your charts as an important expression of why do we need stability, right? Why do we,

Speaker 1 because it's not just storytelling for the sake of storytelling, it's also storytelling to, to provide stability, you know? Yes. And that's different.

Speaker 6 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 7 Wow.

Speaker 1 Storytelling for the sake of storytelling you could do at the hair salon. Exactly.
You know what I mean?

Speaker 7 Yeah.

Speaker 6 Storytelling was so ingrained in us, you know, through our mother because, like you said, she wasn't the stay-at-home cookie cutter

Speaker 6 mother. She was out wanting to tell the world her story to make a bigger difference in this universe.
You know, she had a just a bigger mission than we even knew back then, and even though we knew.

Speaker 6 So, to have to, you know, constantly be running with that. And even though we were always there for her in her corner, 100%, but there were times it was, it was difficult.

Speaker 6 There were times that you just wanted a mother to, I don't know, rub your head.

Speaker 7 I don't know.

Speaker 1 Yeah, you, you wanted to be mothered.

Speaker 7 Yeah.

Speaker 6 And she was very nurturing, but she just, mom was, she was laser focused on getting her story told to the world, you know, for the greater cause, right?

Speaker 6 So

Speaker 6 to say that she loved her children any less, no, not at all. But at the same time, there is that, that side of Rasha and I both where we were just like, okay, mom, okay.

Speaker 7 Okay, what about?

Speaker 6 this or that. So yes, there was that.
But then at the same time, in that same breath that I'm saying this,

Speaker 1 she was our biggest cheerleader so she could walk the rope so so well well that's that's the duality right yeah exactly exactly right like right when you're like this is starting to feel a little bit leo self-centric there also is that another vibration where she's just so grateful to be your mother right yes and it's not something that she would put aside for the sake of her own pursuits but it was ideally something that could all sort of roll together.

Speaker 1 But at the same time, it's like, but what we were actually going to go do this now. And it's like, no, no, no, no, we're all rolling over here.

Speaker 7 Like,

Speaker 1 I get it. I see it.
I see it.

Speaker 7 And when she was alive, she always wanted Yvette and I to write a book together, to work together, to go and give like speeches because of that storytelling aspect in our lives.

Speaker 7 Like she always, from the time we were young, prepared us for entertainment, for the limelight, for the glamour, but like Yvette said, for that greater purpose.

Speaker 7 And even though she wanted to tell the world her story, like, I wish you could have met her, Lisa, because she'd want to know your entire story. You know, that's who our mother was.

Speaker 7 Like, she would meet

Speaker 7 anyone and everyone, and she would want to know their story. So, so many people have been positively affected by her

Speaker 7 in their lives because she would listen just as much as she would speak.

Speaker 6 Yes, Yes, she was genuine. Like she was genuine, pure love.

Speaker 6 You know, pure, pure as, pure as could be.

Speaker 6 And there are so many people, you know, friends that we have, and they're like, that, that was their mother as well, because she touched them so deeply and showed them love, you know, even her, her brothers, right?

Speaker 6 And her sisters, there was just that pure love that she radiated that came through her and right into your soul. And not many people can do that.
Not many people can do that.

Speaker 1 It feels so nice to get to know her through you.

Speaker 7 Well, I feel like you're bringing a piece of her back to us, Elisa. Yeah,

Speaker 6 you really are. Like you've shed so much light.
I mean, so much light and so much wisdom. Like, thank you.

Speaker 1 I want to share. So I mentioned that 23 placement.
Oh, yes. So

Speaker 1 both this, and this is remarkably unusual.

Speaker 1 Both of you, Yvette and Rasha, have Vesta, which is an asteroid

Speaker 1 And Vesta is an asteroid that is the sacred earth.

Speaker 1 It's associated with the Vestal Virgins. That's where the Vesta comes from.

Speaker 1 And the mythology of the Vestal Virgins are that they were female sacred appointees whose job was to keep the eternal flame going.

Speaker 1 So wherever we have Vesta in a chart is where we have this deep spiritual connection. And both of you have your Vestas, which is very unusual, at 23 degrees.

Speaker 1 So there's that number again. And then

Speaker 1 when I opened up this chart for Elizabeth Short and I saw that her north node was in Leo was at 23 degrees. Really? I also

Speaker 7 was like, whoa.

Speaker 1 And that's why I wanted to share that this number is sort of following us around in all of,

Speaker 1 you know, this, there's this powerful mystical connection to 23.

Speaker 7 I know, because mom always wanted to honor Elizabeth. You know, like she never, well, she rarely called her the black dahlia.
She always called her Elizabeth Short.

Speaker 7 And she always knew, no matter what, whether our great grandfather George Hodell truly did kill Elizabeth Short, which we do believe that he did, no matter what, they are always going to be connected, Elizabeth and George and our family, always, because he's always been the prime suspect.

Speaker 7 And I know she wanted that same justice for her birth mother, Tamar, as well, because she had been harmed by her own father in so many different ways. Wouldn't you agree, Yvette?

Speaker 6 Yeah, I mean, again, we go back to who our mother was. And so she never wanted to do anything in just vain.
There was always a deeper purpose behind whatever she did, you know?

Speaker 6 And so whenever she spoke about Elizabeth Short, it was always wanting to help release that energy, right, and free her spirit so she can therefore fly on, right, into the light.

Speaker 6 I mean, that is who mom was. And the same for our grandmother, for Tamar.

Speaker 6 She was always wanting to lift her up, you know, and help her in whatever way that she could.

Speaker 6 That's just who she was. So yeah, she never did anything in vain, never did anything to be salacious.
It was always with a deep purpose behind it.

Speaker 6 And that's why when I say that she was ahead of her time, she was really ahead of her time. And you are just confirming that even more so to me today.

Speaker 1 how you are bringing your mother to life through her chart is it seems like she was
