Speaker 1
What's up guys? Happy Monday. I am coming to you from my hotel room in New York City.
I'm here for the week. Very excited to see you guys on Wednesday for my live show.
I think it'll be super fun.
Speaker 1 But I just wanted to hop on here and make a quick video because there is a huge election happening tomorrow in New York City. It is the mayoral race.
Speaker 1
There's also a huge election happening in New Jersey tomorrow, the race for the governor. Hopefully New Jersey flips red.
But I wanted to offer my thoughts.
Speaker 1 Hopefully, as you guys are walking to the voting booths about the election, specifically in New York City with Mamdani and Cuomo and courtesy, even though it really does seem like it is between Mamdani and Cuomo, I have no idea how it's gonna go.
Speaker 1 I mean, Polymarket is predicting that Mamdani is gonna win. I think it's like a 95% chance on there.
Speaker 1 The last time I checked, the polling shows that it's a little closer, like Mamdani is at 46%, Cuomo is at 34%. I don't know, don't quote me, those are just like the vague numbers that I'm remembering.
Speaker 1 So, again, I don't really know how it's gonna end up.
Speaker 1 But I will say that what this race has shown me is just once again, politics right now, it is unfortunately less about policy and more about relatability and authenticity and charisma.
Speaker 1 Now, I think that a lot of people voted for Donald Trump because they believe in his policies, they wanted a change, but a lot of people felt comfortable, you know, dipping their toes over to the Republican side, coming over to vote for him.
Speaker 1 The reason why they love him is because of his personality.
Speaker 1 Because even though Donald Trump is somebody who is a larger-than-life individual, even though he has more money than most of us could ever dream of having or even fathom having that amount of money, he speaks to normal American people.
Speaker 1
He seems like a normal American. The same goes for J.D.
Vance. Like he is the embodiment of the American dream.
Those are both men that all of us were able to see ourselves in.
Speaker 1 Like Donald Trump can be in his gold-plated New York penthouse, but he also looks totally comfortable in a trash truck. He looks totally comfortable working the fry line at McDonald's.
Speaker 1 And I see the same thing in people like Momdani. And I know you might be going like, oh, they're not the same.
Speaker 1 But this goes back to what we were talking about, especially at the beginning of the year, about authenticity and how i saw a lot of republicans laughing about aoc and saying she's never going to amount to anything she's going to be so easy to beat i wouldn't really say that because she has a way that she can connect with voters she's relatable to millions and millions of americans and the same goes for mamdani i mean i have been in New York for 24 hours at this point and my TikTok is now just flooded.
Speaker 1 I think the New York algorithm is sending me all of these videos and I am seeing him everywhere. He's doing Tai Chi with grandmas at assisted living facilities.
Speaker 1
He's at the taxi cab pickup at LaGuardia Airport. He's talking with everyone.
He's doing the politician thing. He's kissing babies.
He's laughing. He's smiling.
Speaker 1
And the thing that stood out to me is that he genuinely looks like he loves it. He genuinely looks like he loves his constituents and loves New York.
He's happy to be doing this.
Speaker 1
I don't see that with Cuomo. I didn't see that with Kamala.
Like Kamala and people like Biden and Gavin Newsom, they have this general disdain for their constituents.
Speaker 1 They have a general disdain and, let's say, like uppity-iness. I don't even know if that's the right word.
Speaker 1
That's not the most mature word to use in this sense, but it's like they're looking down their noses at all of us. And I don't really see that with Momdani.
I didn't see that. with Donald Trump.
Speaker 1 And so if he does win tomorrow night, I think this will just be even more evidence that authenticity matters right now.
Speaker 1 Again, that politics is really about personality right now, that it's less about policies and more about personality and it's about charisma.
Speaker 1 And voters want somebody that they can trust, that they can relate to. And I think a lot of people are ignoring the fact that Momdani is a socialist.
Speaker 1 I think that they might not even know know or they don't even care because he is giving off the vibe that he loves what he does, that they can relate to him, that they can trust him.
Speaker 1 Again, it's the same feeling that Donald Trump gave me when he ran in this last election. So those are my brief thoughts.
Speaker 1
It is unfortunate for New York City that their two best options are a socialist and Andrew Cuomo. Like, that's just so upsetting.
So I'm sorry for you guys for having to pick between the two of them.
Speaker 1 I wish that Cuomo had run a better race. It seems like he's basically just sat behind his desk having his team make AI videos against Mamdani rather than actually being out with the people.
Speaker 1 Like the only time I actually saw Cuomo out and about was when he did that weird video where he was using jumper cables to start a taxi cab. We didn't even say it was like a campaign video.
Speaker 1
He was just like shaking the guy's hand and it was like, yeah, I'm a man. I'm super cool.
Like that was the only thing he did.
Speaker 1 Like even when Mamdani was out there not able to bench press at that Men's Day event in Brooklyn, Cuomo wasn't even there. He didn't even show up.
Speaker 1
He was just sitting behind his phone tweeting like, I can bench more. That's so embarrassing.
Dude, you were not even there. You did not show up.
Speaker 1 Like the entire thing has just been like tearing my hair out and i'm not even i'm i don't even live in new york city so anyway i empathize with you guys if you are new yorkers that these are your options or maybe you're voting for curtis even though i don't think that there's a good chance he will win which is unfortunate because that would be absolutely baller that would be so amazing anyway those are my thoughts relatability matters in 2025 in politics authenticity matters people want something new they want something fresh they want somebody that they can trust mamdani is giving that vibe.
Speaker 1
So we'll see what turns out. I'm going to wake up early on Wednesday morning and record my reaction to it.
Try to give you guys the updated news, see what happened.
Speaker 1 But anyway, if you're in New York, if you're in New Jersey, run to the polls, go look at Scott Pressler's account if you need information on how to vote. He's giving all of the intel and the details.
Speaker 1 Anyway, I'll see you guys tomorrow for the normal episode.
Speaker 1 We're gonna be talking about the Republican Jewish Coalition and how insane that conference was and how they're compromising all their principles.
Speaker 1
And then on Wednesday, we will talk about the election. I'm also gonna be on Fox News a ton this week.
That's why I'm in town. I'll be at their Patriot Awards this week as well.
Speaker 1
And then I have my live show on Wednesday. So if you guys are coming, I can't wait to see.
All right, bye. Have a good week, guys, and best of luck, New Yorkers.
All right, see you later.
