People have grown accustomed to claiming everything is fine, even when things aren't fine. Glenn explains how America hasn’t been a capitalistic country in decades. The younger generation is correct to reject America’s current economic system, and Glenn makes the case to allow the free market to make a comeback. Glenn outlines why civics is a critical subject that isn’t being taught enough in schools.

So France is collapsing and the Washington Post is like, yeah, I guess they spent too much money and they were spending it on health care and all other kind of crazy things and now they just can't keep up with it.

Completely oblivious to that's exactly what they're preaching.

We should do more of.

But everybody's got their head in the sand.

And meanwhile, a commercial for Coinbase came out in the UK.

It was banned in the UK.

And

it was making fun of everybody saying in England everything is fine with everything falling apart around them.

We shared the ad with you.

It's really kind of an important thing, especially since it has been banned in the UK.

They just do not want the voice of the people to be heard.

Also, we don't need more government regulation.

We need to return to freedom and the real free market system.

And we need to learn a very dirty word, civics.

We get into that as well, all on today's podcast.

So nothing separate anymore.

Every dollar you spend goes someplace.

And the mobile, big mobile carriers, they're sending your money to places that you would never do.

Places that fund abortion tourism, gender ideology in schools, anti-Christian agendas, and the same radical groups that mock your values and the values that you try to teach your kids.

And then when you complain, they tell you, stand in line, stay in your lane.

Here's the truth.

You know, it's all one lane now.

You don't get to opt out of the culture war when the other side is putting their flag in everything, even your phone bill.

This is why Patriot Mobile exists.

They're the only Christian conservative wireless provider in America.

And they'll give you great service on the same cell towers that the other major carriers have without funding all of the madness.

And instead, they support pro-life organizations, veterans, first responders, and causes that you actually believe in and align with your values.

Switching now is is easier than ever before.

Activate in minutes from the comfort of your own home.

Keep your number, your phone, or upgrade both.

You make the switch today, patriotmobile.com slash Beck or 972 Patriot.

Hello, America.

You know we've been fighting every single day.

We push back against the lies, the censorship, the nonsense of the mainstream media that they're trying to feed you.

We work tirelessly to bring you the unfiltered truth because you deserve it.

But to keep this fight going, we need you.

Right now, would you take a moment and rate and review the Glenn Beck podcast?

Give us five stars and lead a comment because every single review helps us break through big tech's algorithm to reach more Americans who need to hear the truth.

This isn't a podcast, this is a movement, and you're part of it, a big part of it.

So, if you believe in what we're doing, you want more people to wake up, help us push this podcast to the top.

Rate, review, share.

Together, we'll make a difference.

And thanks for standing with us.

Now let's get to work.

You're listening to

the best of the Blenbeck program.

We're talking today about the collapse of France or what is coming as a collapse in France and how

just nobody is...

Nobody's noticing, well, that's our country, too.

That's weird.

And imagine they're in this situation now where

they can't afford to do the things they're doing.

Imagine what's going to happen when you cut off all of the immigrants, when you stop paying them for not working, when all of a sudden all of that goes away.

Do you think they're going to be happy about it?

Do you think they're going to not light the streets on fire?

I mean, and how are they going to afford to be able to hold that together?

I mean,

it's remarkable.

And how how does the BBC report this today?

The BBC report on this is absolutely hilarious.

I love

this quote.

Simply put, France's government has for decades spent more money than it has generated.

As a result, it has to borrow to cover its budget.

So

this is the West looking at France and saying,

we didn't get caught by the principal smoking cigarettes.

That was those other kids, the French.

They're the ones that were smoking those cigarettes.

And they're still doing it.

They're all on the verge, including us.

We are all on the verge of collapse and nobody's recognizing it.

Everybody's like, yeah, yeah, look at the dummies in France.

You mentioned migration, though, and I think that's really, really huge to this because this is exactly what, what's his name, Lord Voldemort, was talking about.

I mean, he's talking about the Cloward and Piven strategy on a national scale.

What they're talking about, what's happening with France here, is exactly what happened in New York City, what Cloward and Piven did in New York City back in the 70s.

I know.

Then, what do you think migration is going to do?

It's going to continue that.

It is the point of migration.

It is the point of this migration.

And we should point out as well: they're attempting to do it again in New York right now, right?

Like, this is all starting.

We are months away from a guy winning in a

mayoral election potentially,

where he will implement all of this.

And worse, he will try to skip multiple generations of the buildup toward it and just

cut to the chase and give you some version of socialism in a city that, while thankfully now far away from where I live, also has a massive influence on the economy of not only our country, but the world.

It's the financial center of the world we're talking about these policies being implemented in.

We are on the verge.

Here's how split the people are from the elites.

There is an ad that was apparently blocked in the UK, but it was made by Coinbase for the UK.

And the whole ad is called Everything is Fine.

Okay,

and I just want to play some of it

here.

This is an ad blocked in the UK.

Listen,

it was a little bit.

We're cozy here at home, even though it's not our own.

But wait a few more years, and you can see

everything

is just fine,

everything

is grand.

You're like to get the letter when you're living by the letter.

In this legend,

everything

is just fine.

Everything is great.

The streets can't get no cleaner, nor the ramp meet any leaner.

No, life is just first rate.

Everything is just fine.

Fish fingers are a steal, prices are a smear.

A hundred quid a meal, empty purse.

The pay could be worse if there was nothing in the fridge.

Shows them dancing in the supermarket.

Whether everybody's broke.

Means I get to work for myself.

Yay!

Name of my Lord and Free.

The tips from each delivery.

Excuse me, sir, I have your tandle free.

Everything

is just fine,

everything

is grand.

Your life can get no better when you're living by the letter.

In this present land,

everything

is just fine.

Everything is great.

We're soldiering on.

We're doing our best.

We're off to Dubai.

It's time to jump ship.

We're tiging our bells with a sniff of huge cause enemy.

Everything heavy is down.

Wow.

Everything's just fine.

Don't change anything.

Coinbase.

A society falling apart all around the military.

I mean,

if that isn't true, I mean, that shows you how the British people actually feel.

I'm convinced of it.

The actual people, just like here in America, we know everything's not fine, but imagine over there.

It is much, much worse.

And you're not allowed to say those things.

And this ad proves it because it's blocked in the UK.

Yeah, people are looking at France right now because of the news, but people should be looking at the U.S.

UK.

I mean, every single day it looks like, oh my gosh, they're going to erupt.

I just saw

an article this morning about the car industry in France.

I mean, in England.

It's over.

It's over.

The Mini, which was the only thing really holding up the car industry, you know, I mean, they used to have Jaguar and

Range Rover.

They're now being built overseas.

The Mini is now moving all of the jobs over to China.

China is going to be building the mini now.

Well, what's left for the British worker?

I mean, it's just to protest out in the streets, pretty much.

Have you seen their version of Sabo?

No, Banksy.

Yeah, Banksy.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah, do you see his latest art was

like a judicial or judge beating a protester with his gavel?

And they immediately responded, the authorities did by covering it up and posting two armed guards until they can get it painted over.

They are terrified of their people right now.

Terrified.

And they're arresting people for unfurling flags at demonstrations, British and English flags.

So the English flag is the one that is really

curious to me.

The English flag is white and red.

So if you see the red, white, and blue, the British flag has all the stripes.

The red stripes represent the British, I mean, sorry, the English flag, okay?

And that's just a red cross in the center of a white flag.

So

that's part of the British flag.

And what they did is people are starting to say, well, I'm English and I am proud to be English because they're dismantling England.

And I'm proud to be.

And they are now arresting children,

children, for wearing t-shirts with the English flag on it.

Are you kidding me?

Did you see the guy, the veteran that was protesting in the streets, and all he was doing was displaying a flag?

He was displaying an English flag.

He's a veteran.

He was in a wheelchair and they picked him up and put him in the paddy wagon.

That's not going to last.

That is not going to last.

How are you going to afford defense and

national defense inside?

You're not.

You're not.

Your enemies are within the gates now.

And it's happening here just slower.

And if we don't wake up soon, it's going to happen because the entire West is going to collapse.

I saw a video yesterday from a couple of people that claimed to be CIA people.

I don't know if they are or not.

And I don't even know what that means if they are.

But they were making a very good case on

everything's just fine.

What they're saying is

exactly what George Soros' guy said to my guy back in 2009.

We were threatened by George Soros.

I was threatened by George Soros

through a member of his team.

And my guy had lunch with this guy because he asked for lunch.

Mr.

Soros would like to speak to, it was Joel Cheatwood at the time, would like to speak to Mr.

Cheatwood about what your boss is doing on air.

And I was told to stop talking about George Soros because, quote, it is hurt, your boss is hurting my boss and it will end.

And when

Joel said, no, I don't think that's going to end.

I know my boss and I don't think he's going to stop.

He said, I don't think you understand.

He is going to stop.

And you should just let your boss know that the ship is about to sail.

This is 2009.

Everything that is needed is on board and everyone's getting onto the boat and it's about to set sail.

And you do not want to be left on the dock.

But it's setting sail and it's going to leave and your boss and you people are not going to be on it.

And our response was, good, I don't want to be on a ship with you.

But that is really what's happening right now.

And what these

supposed CIA agents said

was

the die has been cast now.

It's beyond being able to go back and fix it.

It is going to morph.

Now, what is it going to morph into?

And they were making the case that basically what was in that ad from Coinbase, it had two people in like a, I don't know, a BMW or something.

And the husband said, you know, something like, it's time to get to Dubai.

You know, and so they're, they're leaving, you know, because the rich will get out.

They will get out.

Exactly what Lord Moncton said as well just a few minutes ago.

They'll get out.

And then you're left behind.

And we have to decide right now,

what is it we're fighting for?

What is it that is essential that we keep?

Because

if this socialism thing goes, America,

we are about to see one of the darkest predictions that I have made.

come true if we don't turn this around.

And that is

if America goes dark with the powers that we have, the technology that we have, the ability that we have, we will make the Nazis look like rookies.

And it's true.

China is already doing it.

And if we are not careful, that is the road we will go down.

It is imperative.

that we support the youth, that we look to them

and build them up in healthy ways by teaching them, by mentoring them, by showing them that there is hope in the future.

I want to spend some time.

There's a new poll out today

on Gen Z that shows that there's a gender divide in Gen Z.

And

it goes in, it's way beyond politics.

It goes into gender, marriage, children, and success.

And

the problem is, is that the men in Gen Z, the boys in Gen Z,

they get it.

But the women have been so entirely lost to this socialism thing, they don't even know where to find happiness.

Let me tell you about pre-born.

Since the fall of Roe v.

Wade, over 100 abortion clinics have closed their doors.

Praise God for that.

But what's taken their place isn't less deadly.

Today, the abortion pill makes up more than 60% of all abortions in America, and it is being marketed to young women as private and convenient and safe and easy.

They're not being told the truth.

It's not just ending a pregnancy.

They are taking a life alone at home, traumatized, unsupported.

I mean, it is really bad.

And this is where pre-born steps in.

They're fighting for lives and souls every single day.

Pre-born is rescuing roughly 200 babies every day through love and compassion and the powerful tool of ultrasound.

When a mom sees her baby, everything changes, and the numbers prove it.

Over half of those moms who see that image choose life.

And at that moment,

that's everything.

It costs $28 to provide that moment.

I'm asking you personally, will you join me in this?

Go right now to preborn.com slash Beck.

That's preborn.com slash Beck, or dial pound250 on your phone.

Say the keyword baby.

That's pound250, keyword baby.

Together, we can save lives, one mom and one baby at a time.

Sponsored by Preborn.

Now back to the podcast.

This is the best of the Glenn Beck program, and we really want to thank you for listening.

So coming soon,

the

torch.

The torch is a new project of mine

and

something that I feel

compelled

to do.

You know, I've been talking about things for the last couple of years and saying I feel like my calling, because I look at my job as more of a calling,

I feel like my calling is changing

and I didn't know what it was at first.

I still am a little fuzzy on it, but I'm pretty clear.

I just don't know how to do it yet, and I'm looking for your help.

We had a meeting last night where we were talking about how we can get you directly involved in helping me

and setting up one-on-one conversations with you on a regular basis, not just a one-way communication, but on a regular basis, being able to hear from you and help you and have you help steer a little bit

because this is a project we all need to work on.

Because the old ideas are no longer...

I'm excited about them because I know they've not been tried for a long time.

But when you talk about capitalism, that just falls on deaf ears because people think we have capitalism now.

We haven't had capitalism in over a hundred years, okay?

The word free market, those words, that's it's like wallpaper now, just background noise in a political speech, and nobody pays attention to it.

But what we are living under and have lived under is not the free market.

It's a cartel.

It really is.

The government has turned into a cartel with crony deals and lobbyists that are writing the rules and bailouts for the powerful.

You know,

people on the left will say the rich keep getting richer.

Well, yes.

And who are the rich?

Who are the rich?

Who are the rich?

Let's just start at the top.

How about the banks?

What do the banks do?

The banks have a cartel.

It's called the Federal Reserve.

Who controls the Federal Reserve?

Do you control the Federal Reserve?

That's the five biggest banks in the country.

The five biggest banks in the country.

We don't even know who they are.

What kind of system is that?

That is a progressive system put in by Woodrow Wilson and his cronies at the time to control you.

That's what all of this is about, controlling you.

Getting rich themselves and controlling you.

And they do it through these official-sounding things like the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve is not the free market and should be destroyed.

We haven't had the free market for a very long time.

Who is bailing these corporations out?

It's the government.

Why is the government doing that?

Because the corporations are taking money and they're allowed to buy lobbyists so they can write.

Most of the laws are not written by any lawmaker.

They're written by lobbyists and then they're pushed through by the lobbyist into Congress all the way up to the president.

That's not a free system.

That is a system where you get screwed in the end.

Okay.

The government is it's a machine that has been used by the powerful corporations and the powerful people like George Soros

to keep you down and to lift them up.

protect them because they think they know better than you.

They're more important than you.

And if you are if you're 30 years old, this is all you've ever seen.

You've seen the rotten fruit of that tree for a very, very long time.

The crushing rent, the suffocating debt that you probably saw your parents go through while the banks were being bailed out.

The health care bills that you can't understand anymore.

I mean, how does that even work?

Not only can you not understand your health care bill,

how are you going to pay your health care bill?

But here's the secret: none of this is the free market.

None of it.

You've not seen the free market.

Not once.

What you've seen and witnessed here in America is a rigged game, and people are right to reject it.

You're right.

But that's not what the system was designed to do.

That is the bastardization of this.

It's taken them 100 years to do it.

But that's what this system has been turned into.

Here's the twist if you let the real free market breathe

it doesn't chain you down it lifts you up

what what if we instead of burning the whole system down what if we burn down the barricades the barricades of red tape and let builders actually build What if zoning laws and rent controls were cleared out like brushwood?

Suddenly, the housing market would be affordable again.

And if you don't believe me, look at what's happening in Argentina.

And not in theory, in practice, actually doing these things and making things affordable.

Again, what if healthcare bills showed the price up front?

Okay?

Like a restaurant menu.

Doctors were competing to earn your business instead of serving the insurance companies.

The insurance companies also have gone completely mad and corrupt.

And how did they do it?

Why did they do it?

They did it because it's the rules the government set up.

Because it was dirty.

If you think a bigger government is going to make things better, you're wrong.

The government is the problem.

What if student loans stop being a government racket?

You know the price of education back in the 60s and 70s?

It wasn't the price of a house.

What happened?

That got out of control when the government started saying, you know what?

We're going to get into the business of loans.

We're going to give the loans.

Once those loans were guaranteed, the universities knew, well, we're in bed with the government now.

It'll never fail.

They'll never stop writing those loans, and we can charge whatever we want.

But what if the loans stopped being this government racket and education was tailored and and affordable and actually useful?

Not this crap you're getting now.

You're being trained to be a revolutionary.

That's it.

They're not training you for any usable skill.

They are so far behind the curve on what is coming.

By the time you've racked up all this debt, you're sitting there under this mountain of debt.

You think you've played by the rules.

And so you're feeling like, hey, I'm getting screwed by everybody else.

You're not getting screwed by everybody else.

You were screwed by the universities in bed with the government and the teachers' unions.

That's who you've been screwed by.

Make no mistake.

And what are the teachers' unions and the schools and the government now trying to get you to do?

To be a revolutionary, to make the government even bigger and more powerful.

What if we made things actually work?

I mean, not just a slogan, but a real idea of cutting all of this.

Malay is doing it in Argentina right now.

He's stripping rent control, and it has caused the supply of houses to triple and prices to fall.

Why is nobody talking about that?

Why is that not

in anybody's best interest to talk about that?

Why is that not on the front page of everything?

That's an actual solution.

The houses, the market has tripled in size.

The availability of housing is triple what it was

and the prices are lower

why aren't we looking at that because it's not in anyone's interest except for yours and nobody's serving you

and you are becoming a useful idiot by by playing into this system

By saying, yeah, we need more government regulation

This is not about left or right.

It's not about the Democrats or the Republicans because all of that's garbage.

This is about finally, for the first time in your lifetime, in my lifetime, trying to do what America was actually built to do in the first place.

Freedom in the marketplace.

The free market is not an old idea, okay?

It's the newest idea that America hasn't dared tried in decades.

Why is everybody pushing failed systems that have failed over and over and over again?

And yet we have the one system, the free market, the true free market that completely changed the entire world, fed more people, brought more people out of poverty, changed health care system entirely,

gave us energy

and fuel to be able to read at night, study at night, fly across the world, do all of these amazing things,

gave us the internet.

Why aren't we going back and saying, wait a minute, what was it that started that revolution?

Let's try that again, instead of going back to something that ended in 100 million people being killed,

starved to death,

oppressed, people thrown in prison.

My gosh.

We're dragging anchors

through history.

Old language, old solutions, old slogans, Democrats, Republicans.

They argue over the size of government as if that debate hasn't become the dead weight that keeps this nation down in the first place.

Meanwhile, you, the young person in...

Dallas that's just starting a family, a single mom in Chicago, the contractor in Idaho.

You're not debating theory.

This is real life for you.

You're drowning in the price of rent and groceries and gasoline.

You're watching your dream shrink and shrink and shrink while politicians just keep using recycled words that meant something maybe 40 years ago that don't mean anything anymore.

Don't burn the system down.

Cut the ropes that have been tying you down.

It's time to throw the dead weight overboard.

So what does that look like?

It looks like putting you, the consumer, not the government, not the corporation, back at the center.

Ever notice?

But recently, corporations really don't care about you.

They say they care about you in theory.

They care about people in blocks, but they don't serve you.

Has your service at your local store or whatever gotten better or worse?

Do they care more about serving you?

That's the idea of the free market.

You want to know how to get rich?

You get rich by coming up with a way to serve people and make their life easier and better every day.

If I can help you understand the world in a better way so it makes so the world makes sense to you, I've given you something of value that you want.

That's how I make my money because I work every day trying to figure out how can I make your life more manageable.

You have to do that.

That's what all entrepreneurs do.

How can I help people

ease their life, provide them with something that makes their life better?

Instead, the other way to do it is how can I oppress people?

How can I make sure the government will guard everything I'm doing, even though I'm ripping people off, I'm destroying lives, but I'll get rich and the government will get rich.

No.

We need energy prices that fall because of competition, not subsidies.

The government not deciding winners, but you deciding the winner.

We need housing unlocked by the simple idea that builders should be allowed to build.

Wages that rise because the little guy is suddenly allowed to compete with the big guy, not beg the big guy for a job.

We have to stop defending capitalism because capitalism, as it has been, it's over.

It doesn't work.

We need to unleash freedom as it was meant to be.

Not the freedom of slogans, not the freedom of insider deals, but the real freedom of choice and risk and reward applied to everyone in everyday life all around the country.

Because honestly, history will tell us when countries fall into despair, they reach for control.

Every time, every time.

And it's going to happen here the central plan the state solution the strong man

but america was built on the opposite impulse to trust people more than the planners that was our radical idea that was the miracle trust people over the planners

the question is I mean, that's the one idea we haven't tried in a very long time.

Can we make it new again?

And can we convince people to believe in themselves instead of the people who have brought us this misery?

You're streaming the best of the Glenbeck program, and you can find full episodes wherever you download podcasts.

Okay, I gotta say a word that is gonna, oh, just make your blood run cold

because you'll think of, oh my gosh, that was a high school class I slept through.

I had to memorize a bunch of stuff and I promptly forgot I never thought of that word again.

Civics.

Civics.

I mean, that brings to mind like a diagram of the three branches of government, you know, stuff that you had to take to graduate, and you're like, oh, God.

And you didn't see, because it was a subject that didn't, wasn't connected to anything.

And yet it was the most important subject.

Should have been taught all the way through, not in just some high school class.

And it's not

a subject as much as it is a responsibility it is a a set of habits and disciplines and values that make a country possible without it no country can survive

i want you to think of civics in this way every time you speak freely

every time you worship openly

Every time you question your government, every time you serve on a jury or cast a ballot, that's civics.

That's what it is.

It's not theory.

It's not some textbook.

It's not history.

It is action.

It is the action and the acts that we make every day

to be a positive force in our society.

And nobody likes the idea of having any responsibilities.

I do my responsibility.

I do my

civic responsibility.

I pay my taxes.

That's not civics.

That's a scam, in my opinion.

The founders, when they put this together, they knew it could never run on autopilot.

And I just want you to think about how much of our lives in this country run on autopilot right now.

We just assume that it's going to work.

And now we're surprised that it's not working.

Well, of course not, because

nobody was steering.

The people who are steering are steering it right into the side of a mountain, and they know it.

Our founders gave us tools, separation of powers, and checks, and balances, and federalism, and elections, but they also gave us a warning that this won't work unless you're educated, engaged, and moral.

Out of those three,

educated, engaged, and moral.

Have we really accomplished any of those three?

Would you say the United States of America, the citizenry, is educated?

Nope.

Engaged?

Not at all.

Moral?

Please.

Benjamin Franklin was asked after the Constitutional Convention,

what have we got?

What did you give us?

A monarchy or a republic?

And he said, a republic, if you can keep it.

People don't even know what a republic is anymore.

They have no idea.

What he said was prophetic.

Keeping it, getting it is the easier part.

I mean, remember, we fought, we fought and died to have a republic.

That was the easy part.

Keeping it is the hard part.

And so, how do you keep it?

You keep it through something we call

sorry, put myself to sleep.

Civics.

In your family, we have to teach our children that liberty is not a license to do whatever you want.

It is the space to do what is right.

That's a huge difference.

In our community, it means we volunteer, we show up.

We know our school board.

We know our sheriff.

We don't complain about laws.

We understand them.

And when necessary, we challenge them.

How much, how really, honestly, how involved are you in your local community?

Most of us,

most of us would be like,

not really.

In our own life, it means read the Constitution, not summaries, not somebody else's opinion.

The real thing.

Read it.

Wrestle with it.

Ask what it demands demands of you.

It's the same thing.

I mean, if you're a religious person, if you're not reading the scriptures, you're just taking somebody else's opinion.

If you're not wrestling with your faith all the time, I talked to somebody the other day.

They're like, I don't know what I believe.

And I'm like, good, good.

Well, wait.

Are you wrestling with that?

Are you searching for it?

You're just like, I don't know what I believe.

Because one of those is dangerous.

One of those is really good.

Civics is something that is not learned in theory.

It is learned in practice.

And if you want to know how to live civics,

I want you to start small.

This is something, this is kind of a new kick of mine.

Think small.

Everybody's thinking big.

Think small.

Think very small.

Dream big, but think small.

You want to live civics?

Be honest in all of your business dealings.

You want to save the country, speak respectfully in disagreement.

You want to save the Republic, vote in every election, not just the presidential ones.

You want to save your country, model citizenship in a way your children can imitate,

that your kids will always remember.

Because the truth is, we have been thinking that we can pass America down in our bloodline, and it doesn't happen that way.

We pass it down through teaching it, but not just saying the words, but actually living it.

Because every generation has to be taught and shown how to carry the heavy weight of liberty.

Nobody even knows what that word means anymore.

That word is like a cartoon word.

I mean, it's as real as a safe falling on somebody's head as they're walking down the street, you know, one of those Acme safes.

One of the goals that I have for myself in the coming year is

I don't want to do another commentary on the news of the day.

I don't want to do another rant on what happened in Washington.

I instead want to be part of a movement of self-empowerment.

I want to help equip you,

one person,

one family, one classroom, one church, one neighborhood at a a time with the tools that we need to save the republic.

We have spent so much time looking for a politician to save us, and

they're not coming.

They can slow things down, but they're not going to save us.

Nobody's going to have all of the answers for us.

Only we have the answers.

I mean,

how can we actually believe that the country is built on the individual and then look for one individual to make all of it right for all of us.

The next election's not going to fix us.

The nation will stand or fall based on how we, each of us, live civics out every single day.

Dad, I'm going to come up with another word for civics because that just sounds oh my gosh.

I mean, I'm tuning out civics.

Move on.

I believe if

we turn to

just the discipline of the small stuff, if we live what we say we believe, how many of the things, do this experiment.

How many things do you believe that you actually live?

Start with your faith.

Do you actually live the faith that you preach?

How much of it are you missing?

How much of it are you leaving on the sidelines and going, yeah, I'll get to that.

Scripture study for me is the hardest thing.

I didn't grow up in a family with scripture study.

We never did it.

And it is the hardest thing for me.

I have made a goal that I'm going to end my day every day with scripture study.

My secondary goal is to start my day with scripture study, too.

But every day I go to bed and I listen to my scriptures.

Little baby step.

Little baby step.

We just have to have like a

I don't know.

Do we need a code of conduct?

Is that what we need?

Are we at that point to where we I mean, I am.

I need a list of things I have to do every day.

I just I would like to this is one of the goals of the torch, to help you be a little better every day, to give you the tool, whatever it is,

in your life that empowers you to learn something new every day, to get just a little better.

I can dream big.

I can dream huge, huge dreams.

I have no problem.

Stu just went to.

The sphere in Vegas and I was there.

And he said to me this morning, I sat in the sphere and I thought, good Lord, what could Glenn do with this place?

Because I can dream big.

I am not good at the little stuff.

I'm really bad at the little stuff.

And I think that's part of my problem that I deal with:

I'm not good at the small stuff.

And it's the small stuff that matters.

Dream big.

Think small.

Here's a little stuff.

Study the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and your state laws.

Rights are not inherited and not taught through osmosis.

They're understood and defended.

And if they're not understood, they cannot be defended.

And every right comes with a duty.

to obey the law, to respect other people's freedoms, and to carry the weight of liberty.

Here's a little thing.

Vote in every single election, not just the presidential ones, school boards, city council, state legislature.

These are the places that your daily life is shaped.

We don't pay attention to our towns, and our towns are shaping our daily lives.

And if you don't show up, somebody else is showing up and making that decision for your life.

Here's a little thing:

be informed, not inflamed.

We live off the headlines.

We live off of what we just saw on X, what we just saw on Instagram, what just hit our Facebook feed.

That's the worst way to live our life.

You know?

Read deeply.

Read deeply.

A responsible citizen will seek truth before an opinion.

We're seeking an opinion at the same time or before we get truth.

I just told my son this last night and we were on the phone.

And he said, Dad, I'm struggling with such and such.

And I said, I get it.

I said, but it's a distraction, son.

Choose your thoughts.

Choose your thoughts.

I'm not sure that I even understood that when my dad told that to me many, many, many, many, many years ago.

Because thoughts happen all the time.

We're constantly thinking.

We're having all kinds of thoughts.

And most of them, have you noticed, are bad thoughts about ourselves.

Oh, I screwed that up.

Oh, I shouldn't have done that.

Oh, I should have done this.

Oh, you're just this or that.

Or if people only knew,

whatever your thoughts are, I'm never going to make it.

I'm so tired.

Choose your thoughts.

Part of civics is to get control of ourselves.

It's not just control of the country, it's control of ourselves.

We have such responsibility.

And

we

fail on so many things.

And I'm speaking about me, not you.

I think more bad thoughts about myself than I think I do good thoughts, on a regular basis.

I think about my failures more than I think about my success.

I think about the things I should have done or should not have done, more than the things I did do that were right.

And that leads to misery.

I look at myself in the mirror and I'm like, oh, you fat old man.

I think of that every day.

Why?

Why?

That doesn't lead to anything good.

Look at what we fill our head with just on the internet.

Look at what we fill our head with online and shows we watch and everything else.

We're just poison all the time.

Poison, poison, poison, poison.

Thoughts

are creative.

Thoughts build.

Thoughts build who you are.

Why do I look at myself instead of saying good things about myself?

Wow, you still have more hair than most people your age.

All I can see is, oh my gosh, all my hair is falling out.

How come we choose...

Because you're going to create, that thought is going to create something.

Why not choose the thought that is going to empower us instead of dismantle us?

We're not guardians on our own thoughts at all.

You know, when you get up in the morning, what's the first thing you do?

What is the very first thing you do?

For me,

I go immediately to my email and I check my show prep.

I get it at about two o'clock in the morning.

And so sometimes if I'm up at two or three, I go through it then.

But if not, I wake up at four o'clock and I first thing I do.

What a bad habit that is.

I haven't even given myself a chance to think a thought on myself.

I haven't thought of anything.

I'm letting the world now dictate my first thought.

Whatever is on that screen, that's what I'm thinking about.

That's not healthy.

That's not good.

I'm trying to get to a place to where I can think of, before I do anything, think of three things you know are absolutely true about God.

Three things you know are true about God.

Start your day just with that,

because then everything that happens afterwards, you're like, yeah, but I know God is in charge.

So, I mean,

choose your thoughts.

Change your life.

Martha listens to her favorite band all the time.

In the car,

gym.

Even sleeping.

So when they finally went on tour, Martha bundled her flight and hotel on Expedia to see them live.

She saved so much, she got a seat close enough to actually see and hear them.

Sort of.

You were made to scream from the front row.

We were made to quietly save you more.

Expedia, made to travel.

Savings vary and subject to availability, flight inclusive packages are at all protected.
