I guess Andrew Cuomo could run as an independent.

Speaker 2 You got the Republican Curtis Lewis, who's a legend in New York, but probably not going to win.

Speaker 2 Then you've got Eric Adams, who is the current mayor of New York, who is a Democrat, but compared to the other Democrats in New York, he's like a far right-wing fascist,

Speaker 2 meaning he's at least semi, sometimes kind of reasonable, and he could run as an independent. And so it's a messy primary.
But right now, Zoran Mamdani

Speaker 2 far and away the favorite to be the next mayor of New York. And the conservatives have decided to focus on the fact that he's Muslim.
They They say he's Muslim. He's Shiite.
He's not just Shiite.

Speaker 2 He's a 12-Shiite, just like the Ayatollah of Iran.

Speaker 2 I guess is that kind of true?

Say what you will about the Ayatollah. The guy's got nine lives.

Speaker 2 But say what you will about him, he doesn't support queer liberation or defunding the police. I think he likes funding the police.
And I think he looks

Speaker 2 That's not it. If you want to go after this guy, go after him for his real problems, which is that he's, what's the phrase that people use?

Speaker 2 A race communist, a gay race communist.

Speaker 2 He focuses on the LGBT stuff and the weird racial stuff. And

Speaker 2 most important of all, he focuses on class issues. Don't forget, the big issue in the campaign was affordability.
And

Speaker 2 he didn't focus his whole campaign on transing the kids, though he wants to do that. He didn't focus his whole campaign on letting criminals out of prison, though he wants to do that.

Speaker 2 He focuses his campaign on soaking the rich and freezing rents.

Speaker 2 creating government-run grocery stores to drive down prices from private industry. That's what it is.
In many ways, he's more of an old school leftist than a lot of the woke people.

Speaker 2 And that could present a challenge because wokeness is repulsive to most voters. Wokeness was taken out back like old Yeller and shot in the head during the 2024 presidential election.

Speaker 2 I think wokeness is deader than disco.

His voice is grating. He's not very smart.
He's got AOC plus three.

You had other Democrats lining up behind Cuomo, and this guy won.

Speaker 2 they lost. The AOC and the squad wing won.

Speaker 2 This means that AOC's prospects are rising. She's already being floated.

I'm not even, I'm not trying to psyop her into the nomination because she'd be easier to beat.

Speaker 2 I'm just looking at it. If I were advising AOC right now, I would say you should seriously consider the 2028 run.
She already floated that.

Speaker 2 She was prancing around the Midwest and she put out some commercial talking to the voters. I'm just a girl from the Bronx, but you know, I represent you and whatever.

Speaker 2 She clearly wants to run for president. But the question right now is, what is AOC's next step? Should she run for president or should she run against Chuck Schumer for his Senate seat in New York?

Speaker 2 She could do either. Her star is rising still.

Speaker 2 it'll be tough to beat Chuck Schumer.

Speaker 2 Even though Chuck Schumer has made all sorts of missteps and no one totally loves him, he's good. He shows up to everything in New York.
I've been to multiple events in New York. I'm a Republican.

Speaker 2 I've been to multiple events that Chuck Schumer shows up to, even to support Republicans. He's just a good retail politician.

Speaker 2 He would be a very tough candidate to beat in New York.

Speaker 2 For the presidential race,

Speaker 2 it's wide open. Who's she got to beat? Gavin Newsom? Gavin Newsome is one of the big losers of that New York City mayoral primary.

Speaker 2 One of the big, big losers. Because Gavin Newsom, especially with his recent pivot to try to appear more moderate, to start his podcast, to try to be friends with Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon.

Speaker 2 is the Bill Clinton wing, the Tony Blair wing, the

Speaker 2 90s wing of the party.

Speaker 2 The Andy Cuomo wing. We're just, we're going to grow together.

Bush was mocked as an idiot, but he's quite an intelligent man.

Speaker 2 So could AOC do it? AOC is almost certainly not even close to as smart as any of those people that I just named. But I left out one president, and that would be Joe Biden.

Speaker 2 You could really feel Joe Biden. And AOC has that.

Speaker 2 AOC, she connects with people in a way that the rest of the squad cannot, in a way that really no other Democrat can right now.

Speaker 2 She connects that weird face right up against the camera and you connect with her.

Speaker 2 She makes you feel something, whether she makes you feel anger, pity, nausea, whatever it is, you're feeling something.

Speaker 2 And she has another thing that Joe Biden had,

Speaker 2 and I guess continues to have if he can still speak, which is she can code switch. She can speak to a lot of different groups.

Speaker 2 You notice there that phrase, the one that stuck right out to me, he goes,

Speaker 2 AOC is a millennial. She's older than me.

Speaker 2 It's giving is not millennial slang. It's giving is Zoomer slang.

Speaker 2 A millennial would say,

Speaker 2 it's giving, if you were to use that phrase, we would say, it's giving and then a noun. So you would say, it's giving disorganized vibes.
It's giving

Speaker 2 a bad juju. It's giving, you would, this is, it seems pedantic, but it's actually crucial to the way that this woman communicates.

Speaker 2 We would use a certain idiom. Zoomers, a younger generation than me or AOC, use this phrase, it's giving, followed by an adjective.
So it's giving disorganized. It's giving sexy.
It's giving whatever.

Speaker 2 She's speaking like a Zoomer. She can do that.
Joe Biden had the ability to do that. He had the ability to

Speaker 2 was quite evocative, that had a lot of pathos.

Speaker 2 His rhetoric didn't have a lot of logos, not a lot of logic there, not a lot of logic for AOC,

Speaker 2 not even a lot of ethos, not a ton of credibility, especially not Joe Biden, or neither Joe Biden nor AOC. I mean, they were both absolute infamous liars.
Joe Biden lied about everything.

Speaker 2 I mean, every plagiarist, lied about so much of his biography, lied about tragedies, lied lied about everything.

Speaker 2 And AOC, same thing, lies about her biography, lies about where she grew up, lies about all that stuff. But the one thing they have is pathos.

Speaker 2 Do not underestimate AOC for president 2028. Right now, she is one of the leading candidates for the Democrats.

has been arrested for threatening Joe Rogan. Do you know who the Liver King is? I I kind of remember the Liver King.

Speaker 2 Liver King is this guy. I think Brett introduced him to me.
Brett, young, young hip cool Zoomer introduced him to me. I wasn't paying attention to who he was.

Speaker 2 He is this like beefcake guy who said that he got all of his muscles because

Speaker 2 he ate raw animal parts. I'm not even going to say meat because he'd eat things like testicles and all sorts of gross stuff.

Speaker 2 So that's what he said. He said he's lived this natural, primordial lifestyle, and that's how he got all his muscles.

Speaker 2 he became popular. Joe Rogan then called him out.
He was like, this guy's obviously roided up, and his career was destroyed. He later admitted to the steroids.

Speaker 2 And now he's threatening Joe Biden, or Joe Rogan, rather, while holding two guns.

This guy

Speaker 2 could have had it all. Maybe not all, but this guy blew up.
He was making a ton of money. I think he had some kind of supplement business and he was a fraudster.
So he was, he was going to get caught.

Speaker 2 He was a fraudster and he was exposed by Joe Rogan in part.

Speaker 2 And at that point, you say, okay,

Speaker 2 well, this guy, he messed up his body. He committed a pretty serious sin of deceit and fraud.
But I'm sure he's still got a bunch of money. He's still got a platform.

Speaker 2 He could take the lump and do something for good.

Speaker 2 But it doesn't, it just didn't work out that way. He instead, he tried to pivot.
He ate more weird animal parts. He seemed to get angry and spiral into his bitterness.
And now he's arrested.

Speaker 2 And now he's got nothing. It's not, there are so many cats.
To me, the interesting part of the story is almost not the liver king. It's just how vengeance works and how people,

Speaker 2 we all do bad things.

Speaker 2 If you do something bad, if you just acknowledge it to yourself and to God, maybe confess your sins to a priest, and then just turn it around,

Speaker 2 there's almost nothing so terrible you can do that you can't be forgiven for it and just move on.

Speaker 2 There is literally nothing other than blaspheming the Holy Spirit. And

Speaker 2 on the other hand, if you refuse to change your mind, if you refuse to admit you did something wrong, look yourself in the mirror and confess your sins and turn around, then there's almost no sin too slight to destroy your entire life.

Speaker 2 Not a good turn of events for the Liver King. Now, speaking of fights,

Speaker 2 you know, there's this reporting in the establishment media that, okay, first the reporting was

Speaker 2 Trump is a weakling. He's going to let Iran get a nuclear weapon.

Speaker 2 Then the reporting was Trump is a belligerent maniac and he's going to start World War III because he won't let Iran get a nuclear weapon. Then the reporting was Trump is,

Speaker 2 even though the operation was successful, he's going to get a lot of Americans killed because he tried to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

Speaker 2 And then when none of those things were true, the reporting became, well, he probably didn't even stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. Yeah, well, he probably didn't even destroy the bunkers.

Speaker 2 Well, yeah, he probably, it probably wasn't even that good. Never mind.
Look away. So the CIA has just come out.
They would never lie to you.

Speaker 2 No, in this case, I think the CIA probably is being pretty straight.

Speaker 2 The CIA says, this is from the director John Ratcliffe, CIA can confirm that a body of credible intelligence indicates Iran's nuclear program has been severely damaged by the recent targeted strikes.

Speaker 2 So then if the director of the CIA comes out and says, hey, hold on, look, we know, you know, you're citing the IC here. You're citing the deep state.

Speaker 2 Well, hey, I am the deep state, and I'm telling you, these facilities were destroyed, destroyed, and the Iranian nuclear program has been severely set back, then it just blows up that bit of fake news, too.

Speaker 2 So, add that one to the pile of the establishment media getting every single thing about this story for weeks completely wrong. But

Speaker 2 not to put a cherry on top of that Sunday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth addresses this directly at the Pentagon this morning.

Speaker 10 I mean, specifically, you, the press, specifically you, the press corps, because you cheer against Trump so hard, it's like in your DNA and in your blood to cheer against Trump, because you want him not to be successful so bad,

Speaker 10 you have to cheer against the efficacy of these strikes. You have to hope maybe they weren't effective.
Maybe the way the Trump administration has represented them isn't true.

Speaker 10 So let's take half-truths, spun information, leaked information, and then spin it.

Speaker 10 Spin it in every way we can to try to cause doubt and manipulate the public mind over whether or not our brave pilots were successful.

Speaker 10 How many stories have been written about how hard it is to, I don't know, fly a plane for 36 hours? Has MSNBC done that story? Has Fox?

Speaker 10 There are so many aspects of what our brave men and women did that by because of the hatred of this press corps are undermined because people are trying to leak and spin that it wasn't successful.

Speaker 10 It's irresponsible.

Speaker 2 100%, 100% right. And notice here what Pete does.
He's not just going after MSNBC and the left-wing outlets. He goes, What about Fox?

Speaker 2 What about my old employer, Fox, the supposedly conservative outlet? How come none of you guys are focusing on the parts of the story that really matter?

Speaker 2 You're taking half-truths and non-truths, and even the things that have a grain of truth in them, you're spinning them beyond recognition into the land of the farcical.

Speaker 2 This is the Liver King problem. The American press has the Liver King problem, which is

Speaker 2 have never forgiven Trump for calling out their deceit and their fraud. Trump, more effectively than any president, any politician of my lifetime, pants the press.

Speaker 2 He didn't have to pants them because they were an emperor without any clothes on. Goes out there and he says, you're a fraud.
You're liars. you are fake news.

Speaker 2 And that attack resonated because it was true. And then what the press could have done at that point is amazing.

Speaker 2 This providentially follows the Liver King story because she didn't even make this connection when I was writing my show notes.

Speaker 2 But

Speaker 2 what happened was when the press were exposed and humiliated by Trump, they could have looked in the mirror and said, okay, yeah, we've gotten a bit corrupt. We've gotten things wrong.

Speaker 2 We've, yeah, okay,

Speaker 2 whatever. We're going to take our lumps.
We're going to turn it around. We're going to do a good job for the American people.
We're going to report the truth. We're going to talk about what matters.

Speaker 2 Okay, we're going to do that. And the press would be looking great right now.

Speaker 2 But they couldn't do it, could they?

Speaker 2 They got caught in their fraud and they just,

Speaker 2 they had to get revenge on Trump. They had to get revenge on the guy who exposed them.
And the problem with that is they still have not gotten Trump.

Speaker 2 And every time they try to get him, it's like Wiley Coy Coyote with the Roadrunner. They just keep humiliating themselves more and more.

Speaker 2 Just the four or five narratives that we've had over the Iran story, one more ridiculous than the next, contradicting each other every step of the way, but they have one common thread.

Speaker 2 They're all just trying to get Trump, and they can't because Trump is the Roadrunner and he always beats Wiley Coyote.

Speaker 2 FDR, extremely important consequential president, obviously did a lot of horrible things, in many ways ruined the country.

Speaker 2 I think that in about 100 years, if America still exists, Trump, without question, will be looked at as an extraordinarily consequential, talented, great president,

Speaker 2 including by liberal historians, even if they hate him.

Speaker 2 If they're honest at all, they're going to have to admit, man, this guy, this guy destroyed the Bush dynasty, destroyed the Clinton dynasty, reordered the Republican Party, won the highest office in politics the first time he really gave it a try, then got booted out of office because all the election rules changed, and then managed to become only the second president in American history to be elected to a non-consecutive second term, survived two impeachment attempts, survived at least two assassination attempts, one of which came pretty close and blew off part of his ear, and managed to rewrite a lot of domestic policy and a lot of foreign policy.

Speaker 2 Even if you hate his freaking guts, how can you not say this is a consequential, great president, great in historical terms? Gonna be hard.

Speaker 2 Even the liberal historians are gonna have to admit it, I think.

Speaker 2 Now,

Speaker 2 what does that man have to say about the Iranian nuclear program? Here he is at the NATO summit.

Speaker 10 Because I don't think they'll ever do it again. I just don't think they're going to do it.
I think they're going to take their oil. They're going to have some missiles and they'll have some defense.

Speaker 10 I think they've had it. I mean, they just went through hell.
I think they've had it. The last thing they want to do is enrich.

Speaker 10 They've been trying to do it. By the way, it's hard to enrich.
And, you know, when you look at a site like that, very, very hard to build, very, very hard, very expensive.

Speaker 10 If they spent trillions of dollars trying to do this thing and they didn't come up with it, and we're actually getting along with them very well right now.

Speaker 2 Okay, so he says his prediction is they're not going to try to get a nuclear weapon anymore. I think a lot of people are going to roll their eyes at that and say, yeah, really?

Speaker 2 The thing they want more than anything in the world, they're going to stop pursuing that.

Speaker 2 Clearly, Trump is using a rhetorical device whereby whereby he is engaging ostensibly in description when he's really engaging in prescription.

Speaker 2 That is to say, saying, oh, here's what I think is going on. And when he says, here's what I think, then he just is trying to persuade them to do something.
He's trying to will his desires into being.

Speaker 2 That said, he gives them some reasons. The way that that rhetorical trick works is you give people reasons and it makes them think, okay, actually, maybe he's got a point.
Namely, he says, look,

Speaker 2 you got a lot of oil. So you have plenty of energy.
You don't need to pretend, oh, we need nuclear energy for civilian purposes. Give me a break.
You're Iran. You have enough oil.
You'll be fine.

Speaker 2 They have plenty of oil. They just got blown to smithereens.
Implicit there is you almost got your entire regime overthrown and you almost had your capital city glassed.

Speaker 2 Trump threatened both of those things.

Speaker 2 So he says, it was bad enough what just happened to you guys. You were humiliated.
You had years and years of work blown to smithereens and

Speaker 2 could have been a lot worse. Let's not forget that.

Speaker 2 And by the way, that's all the stick. Here's the carrot.
We're getting along great now.

Speaker 2 And so they've been, it's very expensive. They've had a lot of problems with money.
Maybe implicit, maybe we'll ease up on some of those sanctions if you play nice.

Speaker 2 Implicit is for decades you've had one foot in the international order, one foot out of the international order.

Speaker 2 Well, maybe if you put both of those feet in the international order, maybe I'll hold off my friends, the Israelis, who have been trying to topple you. Maybe I'll let you continue to exist.

Speaker 2 But you got to play. That's what I think.
That's what I would do if I were them. That's what Trump is saying.
Is it going to work? I don't know.

Speaker 2 I'm kind of skeptical, but maybe. Maybe.
It's certainly a good way to play it right now.

Speaker 2 And then if we got to go back in in five years, maybe we got to go back in. Now, speaking of government programs, There's a great advertisement that's been airing for a while now, though.

Speaker 2 And the Atlantic's furious about this because the Atlantic wants millions and millions of foreign invaders to come into our country, violate all of our laws, tax our resources, and change our demographics and give Democrats a permanent electoral majority.

Speaker 2 That's what they're after. So they say this is a self-deportation psychopath.
You're telling me you have

Speaker 2 peaceful way for illegal aliens to leave and for the law to be enforced without a single cop putting on his uniform. This is the best way to enforce a basic aspect of American law.

Speaker 2 And you say, oh, you're grumbling about it. It's a psyop.
Why? Because you don't want the law to be enforced. Okay, so forget about the Atlantic.

He's had a good week and he's done a very good job. But this one, this maybe goes a little far.

He did it very affectionately.

Speaker 12 Do you regard your NATO allies, though, as kind of like children? And they're obviously listening to you and they're spending more. And you're obviously appreciative of that.

Speaker 12 But do you hope that actually they're going to be able to defend themselves, defend Europe on their own without?

Speaker 10 I think they need help a little bit at the beginning.

Speaker 2 Trump is such a good good showman that when she asks this question, he keeps a perfectly straight face.

What do you have to say about that? And Trump, completely straight face. And Rubio is not a TV star.
He's not an actor.

Speaker 2 And what's notable about this exchange, Trump handles it very well. You know, he keeps a straight face.
He lets the reporter get the joke in. It's a funny bit.
It goes viral.

Speaker 2 It's a flattering narrative to have out there anyway.

Speaker 2 So it's good. It's good that it makes a rounds.
And then he kind of brushes off the question. Oh, yeah, we get along great.
Oh, we get along great. We're good.
NATO has problems. Whatever.

Speaker 2 You know, he just does the Trump thing.

Speaker 2 But what's notable about this story for the political order is,

Speaker 2 do you remember where the Trump is daddy meme first came from? A lot of people attribute it to Tucker Tucker Carlson in this past campaign.

Speaker 2 Tucker gave some speech on the campaign drugs and says, oh, it's kind of like daddy's back.

Speaker 2 Okay, so finally we've got daddy coming home.

Speaker 2 So it was good. It was a good bit that Tucker did.
But it wasn't Tucker who coined that phrase. Goes back further.
Goes back, as far as I can tell, the first person to do it was Milo.

Speaker 2 In 2015, 2016, Milo Yiannopoulos called Trump Daddy. And that was so extreme and crazy and wacky and fringe and weird at the time.

Speaker 2 Now you have a Sky News journalist at the NATO summit,

Speaker 2 straight face for most people other than Rubio, saying, hey, Mr. President, are you daddy? Yes, I am.
Yes, I am.
