We're Alive: Descendants - Chapter 13 - Coming Home - Part 1 of 2

40m

After the chaos in Primm, Alex, Dot, and Grant lead a desperate escape across the desert, but the Boar’s forces aren’t far behind. As the survivors push forward, exhaustion and uncertainty weigh heavily—especially with an unknown threat lurking in the darkness. Meanwhile, Nicholas, Will, and Nakoma take to the skies on a high-stakes pursuit, but navigating the dangers of both the air and their own pasts may prove more treacherous than they expected.

Far from home, Vera wakes up to a reality she never saw coming. With her trust shattered and questions mounting, she’s forced to confront a place—and people—who claim to hold the answers she’s been missing her whole life. But some truths are more dangerous than the lies that kept them hidden.

As old loyalties are tested and new dangers emerge, the road home has never been more uncertain.

18 years after the original STORY OF SURVIVAL, a new generation is forced to grow up in the post-apocalypse. The Infected have evolved into new deadly varieties, and humanity’s efforts to reclaim our lost civilization have put us in conflict with our greatest enemy: Ourselves. Now the countdown begins as the children of the survivors work to make sense of this deadly new world before it consumes them and everything they know and love.

Speaker 7 Chapter 13:

Speaker 8 Coming Home.

Speaker 7 Part One of Two

Speaker 9 Run! Get everyone over the ridge!

Speaker 10 Take shelter behind the rocks!

Speaker 9 These people can't keep going.

Speaker 12 We've been on our feet all day.

Speaker 9 Grant, we have to get up this hill or we're sitting ducks. Rest after.
Will we even be able to? That's our best possible position for cover. One last push and we're almost there

Speaker 9 I got you done help me carry her

Speaker 13 That's not too bad small laceration on the leg

Speaker 13 get her on the truck with the other injured

Speaker 6 I know it's full

Speaker 6 Grant Commies

Speaker 12 You and you can you handle getting her in there?

Speaker 12 I can't We're all tired, but please, we have to help each other out.

Speaker 6 I got her, Grant. I got her.
Come on.

Speaker 14 The poor animals are not giving up, are they?

Speaker 6 Why would they?

Speaker 12 We took away Prim's entire workforce.

Speaker 15 Everyone who has a gun, spread out and take position on the ridge. Find cover and dig in.

Speaker 9 Only shoot when you have a target.

Speaker 10 This is our chance to push them back.

Speaker 6 You heard, Alex.

Speaker 16 Let's get them. I'll be fire!

Speaker 16 Get that back to the boar, look up!

Speaker 12 Our people people can't hit anything, Alex. It's pitch black out here.

Speaker 15 Focus on the headlights.

Speaker 9 Try to stop the vehicles.

Speaker 6 I'll try, but there's just so many of them.

Speaker 18 Or you could just aim for the drivers.

Speaker 6 Food.

Speaker 6 Todd.

Speaker 9 Glad you brought Gloria.

Speaker 12 Don't know what we'd do without you.

Speaker 14 She does have better equipment.

Speaker 6 Still, a hell of a shot.

Speaker 19 That's nothing.

Speaker 9 Well, it's definitely working.

Speaker 10 They're turning around!

Speaker 19 Good timing.

Speaker 6 I'm out of rounds.

Speaker 19 Should probably have the others stop shooting, too. I didn't bring that much ammo.

Speaker 9 Hold your fire! Hold your fire!

Speaker 19 And it's not like they're hitting anything anyway.

Speaker 15 But now the boar's animals know we can shoot.

Speaker 14 We have them outnumbered and holding a higher position. Maybe that'll be enough.

Speaker 6 Gone?

Speaker 14 Who, them?

Speaker 6 Yeah, for now.

Speaker 21 The boar will never give up that easily. As much as she prides herself on building Prim,

Speaker 12 these are the people that actually did it.

Speaker 21 And without her slave labor, there'd be no way for her to keep the arenas or any of her gambling rings going.

Speaker 5 She has nothing now.

Speaker 14 Once the sun's up, they'll be back. The mountains in darkness just bought us more time.

Speaker 21 And those were only some of her trucks. She has other stronger stuff.
Armored hummers and even tanks. I bet those will be next.
She's desperate enough.

Speaker 21 But at least they're slower, and we got a head start.

Speaker 4 Where'd she get all that?

Speaker 6 No idea.

Speaker 5 Republic, maybe.

Speaker 6 Stole or bought them, who knows?

Speaker 21 I wasn't there long enough. It seems like she's made a lot of connections through her little games in Prim.

Speaker 21 Once she regroups, she's gonna throw everything she has at us.

Speaker 14 Then we need to be gone before then.

Speaker 21 How much further is it to get to this spot we're going? Are you sure it's gonna be safe?

Speaker 19 The Atlas is the safest place left in any reasonable distance, but we're only about halfway there.

Speaker 6 Half

Speaker 21 that's it.

Speaker 21 I don't know if you've noticed, but I doubt many of these people are gonna make it if it's that far.

Speaker 19 Then those who don't don't. You're lucky to have some place to go to at all.

Speaker 3 Oh, really?

Speaker 10 What she means is we will have casualties along the way, but we don't have any other choice.

Speaker 14 How many would be killed if we were to suddenly turn around or give up?

Speaker 14 This is the only option we have.

Speaker 5 You're probably right.

Speaker 14 Look, no matter what, we're gonna try and help as many people get to the Atlas as possible, right?

Speaker 19 That's the plan.

Speaker 14 And the boar isn't our only problem.

Speaker 14 We can't forget what else might be out here.

Speaker 6 Oh, shit.

Speaker 21 You think infected are gonna attack, too?

Speaker 21 Was so focused on the boar I didn't stop to think about them.

Speaker 19 Hmm, infected may not be an issue. I've crossed these mountains and deserts before and haven't seen many.
It's pretty barren out here. There's not much to eat, so even they wouldn't survive.

Speaker 14 Maybe not, but I for sure saw one real nasty infected when Dot and I first escaped Prim. A special kind from LA.

Speaker 10 Coal, pitch black skin, strong as hell.

Speaker 14 If I didn't know any better, I'd say it followed us out here.

Speaker 6 Don't dot.

Speaker 21 You're serious.

Speaker 6 Oh, God.

Speaker 21 Can this get any worse?

Speaker 6 Dot.

Speaker 6 Okay.

Speaker 6 Okay.

Speaker 5 You're right. We should keep that to ourselves.
These people are freaked out as it is.

Speaker 14 I just wanted to make sure you all knew.

Speaker 14 We should circle up in case anyone or anything tries to surround us.

Speaker 14 Grant, can you pass the word on? Sleep in shifts and make sure everyone knows that we leave before dawn.

Speaker 5 Okay, okay, I will.

Speaker 21 That sounds like a good plan.

Speaker 21 Thanks, Alex.

Speaker 19 You'd think these people would be working harder to save themselves. I mean, come on.

Speaker 14 They've already been through so much already. You have no idea.

Speaker 19 I'm risking my neck and giving up my home to all these people.

Speaker 14 I know, I know. It's a lot for you, too.

Speaker 3 But they're grateful.

Speaker 14 Everyone's just exhausted and stressed.

Speaker 19 I'm sorry. I just.

Speaker 19 I can't even remember a time when I had to deal with many people.

Speaker 19 Been alone for so long.

Speaker 19 Die.

Speaker 19 Oh, these? These are NVGs.

Speaker 14 Night vision goggles. Can you actually see anything from here?

Speaker 19 It's a little hard at this distance, but looks like they've retreated all the way back to the main highway. But there are more headlights even further, way in the distance, heading towards them.

Speaker 14 Could be the heavy armor Grant was talking about.

Speaker 14 The boar isn't going to be as careless after she just lost a bunch of her trucks.

Speaker 14 Ammo has to be limited for them, too. With what just happened in Prim,

Speaker 14 she knows we're on foot. They aren't.

Speaker 14 They'll wait for the morning to try to round everyone up.

Speaker 17 This boar, what's she like?

Speaker 22 Bad.

Speaker 14 Just look around. Evidence enough.

Speaker 19 Great.

Speaker 19 Well, come morning, we're not going to have anywhere to hide from her, and nothing that will stop armored vehicles from coming up here.

Speaker 6 Yeah,

Speaker 14 I was thinking that.

Speaker 19 Could lay some traps. I have plastic explosives in the truck, but...

Speaker 19 But that'd be tricky to place, and it may only take out a few.

Speaker 14 Any other ideas? You know this land better than anyone, right?

Speaker 19 They're shining the light on the map, but keep it covered.

Speaker 19 Okay.

Speaker 19 Since we're on foot, our best bet is to stay in the rocky terrain. See, this here, this is Spirit Mountain, and the range continues all the way down to the Colorado River.

Speaker 19 And that's where we'll cross.

Speaker 10 Wait, what? Through the water?

Speaker 6 Again?

Speaker 6 No, no, no, no, no, no. Shh.

Speaker 19 There's a small dam and some walking trails that will make it hard for anything to follow us that isn't on foot.

Speaker 19 Why don't we just send our truck ahead with the injured, and hopefully they won't notice it?

Speaker 6 That might work.

Speaker 19 Look, there's some rough areas once we cross the river that they won't be able to drive over as well. We just need to make sure to avoid the abandoned towns because there's some infected still there.

Speaker 14 Dot, that's not too bad. We could keep them off our backs till then.

Speaker 19 Yeah, but the hills eventually run out.

Speaker 19 There's flatlands mostly after that, the Golden Valley. That's where the Boer could catch up to us.

Speaker 14 How close will we be to the Atlas by then?

Speaker 19 Not far, but I mean these people, come on, on foot? That's still a long ways to go.

Speaker 14 So then we have to find a way to hold them off before the valley.

Speaker 19 I mean, if they have tanks and armored Hummers coming, even if we had unlimited rounds, which we don't, it wouldn't matter against those.

Speaker 14 What if we took out the road to buy some time?

Speaker 4 Can we blow the dam?

Speaker 19 Uh, yeah, no.

Speaker 19 I don't have enough explosives for that.

Speaker 19 But if I remember correctly, wait, there's a place called Union Pass on the other side of the river that they're forced to go through.

Speaker 19 And the road gets pretty narrow, and it has two big rock formations on both sides. Explosives in the right spots.

Speaker 4 It could work.

Speaker 19 Buy us enough time to get to the Atlas.

Speaker 6 Maybe.

Speaker 14 Hey, it's something worth a shot, right?

Speaker 6 Thought.

Speaker 19 Yeah, there's one other thing that you may not have considered.

Speaker 6 What's that?

Speaker 19 The Atlas missile silo is hidden enough being underground and was designed to keep infected out.

Speaker 19 But if the boar discovers it, seeing where all these people are getting in, there'd be nowhere to hide after that.

Speaker 14 Then we do everything we can to hold them off. Rough terrain, blowing up Union Pass, whatever it takes, this has to work.

Speaker 14 We're gonna make it.

Speaker 19 Yeah, boy, I wish I had your confidence.

Speaker 19 The only chance we have is if we make it there tomorrow. That's a long way and a difficult trail.

Speaker 19 You better get your rest.

Speaker 19 Good night.

Speaker 19 Oh, man.

Speaker 19 Work.

Speaker 19 Yeah.

Speaker 14 We totally got this.

Speaker 5 We do have this, right?

Speaker 6 Uh-huh.

Speaker 14 After all we went through already to get here, our

Speaker 6 luck better hold out.

Speaker 14 Hey, I gotta keep watch at least for a little while.

Speaker 1 But

Speaker 14 you can get some rest. I'll be fine.
I'm used to riding on no sleep

Speaker 14 Does get pretty chilly out here, doesn't it?

Speaker 6 Oh oh hey, um

Speaker 6 oh

Speaker 14 Trying to share warmth

Speaker 6 yeah

Speaker 6 cold

Speaker 6 Well, here.

Speaker 23 At least let me adjust against the rock

Speaker 20 and move my body arm.

Speaker 6 Okay.

Speaker 6 That's better.

Speaker 6 You know,

Speaker 14 kind of nice view from up here.

Speaker 14 Be even nicer if there weren't people down there trying to kill us.

Speaker 14 You think

Speaker 5 do you think the others are okay?

Speaker 14 You think they made it out of Prim?

Speaker 6 John.

Speaker 14 Yeah, yeah, probably did.

Speaker 3 Who knows?

Speaker 14 Maybe they made it back to Westport by now.

Speaker 6 You know,

Speaker 14 I give Nick shit, but

Speaker 5 he can handle himself.

Speaker 14 Pretty damn resourceful.

Speaker 6 Or lucky.

Speaker 14 I'm sure he's fine.

Speaker 14 What did I do?

Speaker 16 What do I do? Stop that.

Speaker 22 Flip that back.

Speaker 6 Okay, oh, oh.

Speaker 24 Help him, Nakoma. Come on.

Speaker 22 It's just turbulence.

Speaker 25 We're fine.

Speaker 9 Are you sure?

Speaker 17 It doesn't feel like we're gonna be fine. My hands.
My hands, this doesn't feel right, Nick.

Speaker 25 This doesn't feel right.

Speaker 26 Nakoma, can you lift your arms yet?

Speaker 13 Can you take over as pilot?

Speaker 22 Not so much. Dart's still working.

Speaker 27 Just fight it the best that you can.

Speaker 16 Will, just focus and breathe, okay?

Speaker 13 We can't lose Bear.

Speaker 28 Is the other plane still on the radar?

Speaker 16 Fuck it. It looks like they're getting further away.

Speaker 15 I can barely see them now.

Speaker 22 Will, push the right button top on the center screen.

Speaker 6 Uh,

Speaker 6 that oh here got it

Speaker 6 oh

Speaker 17 you may want to buckle up in the back nick don't worry about me okay just focus on flying find vince's plane okay we're trailing behind but we haven't lost him their their transponder's still on look can he shut it off hopefully he won't it wait is ours on nope Had you turned it off before I take off?

Speaker 7 Thought ahead.

Speaker 17 Oh, right, that makes sense.

Speaker 25 Nice thinking.

Speaker 26 Wait, wait, so he doesn't know that we're following him, right?

Speaker 24 May not.

Speaker 25 I'm pretty far behind.

Speaker 6 Oh, there. Okay.

Speaker 6 Oh, there.

Speaker 17 There, the plane's getting smoother.

Speaker 11 You're doing great, Will, okay?

Speaker 11 You got this, okay?

Speaker 17 You want to take the controls?

Speaker 25 I don't know

Speaker 17 if I could keep this up.

Speaker 6 Look at my hands. Nick!

Speaker 22 You want to pull me out of the co-pilot seat? I'm just sitting here.

Speaker 13 No, you stay there, okay?

Speaker 29 I have no idea how to do that.

Speaker 11 Besides, I'm tired as shit.

Speaker 14 This has been one long ass day.

Speaker 29 I mean, Will's doing better than I ever would.

Speaker 6 Oh, boy.

Speaker 17 Oh, okay. If you say so, just not feeling like my best self.

Speaker 29 I mean, isn't there an autopilot or something?

Speaker 18 Sure.

Speaker 22 If we knew where we were going.

Speaker 17 Well, as far as planes go, we were pretty lucky to find this one still on the runway back in Prim.

Speaker 5 Yeah, no kidding.

Speaker 29 It's a pretty swanky jet back here.

Speaker 16 Were all the planes like this in the old days?

Speaker 22 Nah, this one was private. Someone would have owned it before the outbreak.

Speaker 13 Well, whose is it now?

Speaker 17 Some some rich gambler.

Speaker 17 This isn't even the nicest jet I've seen fly in.

Speaker 30 Westport doesn't have many planes.

Speaker 16 Where would the gambler even get the fuel?

Speaker 17 R uh Republic Refineries.

Speaker 8 How am I not surprised?

Speaker 22 Anything useful back there?

Speaker 6 Um

Speaker 28 just

Speaker 28 just a few bags uh some clothes

Speaker 22 nothing special really no weapons doesn't look like it damn

Speaker 22 yeah I know we'll have to figure something out I still have some darts what's left of them

Speaker 17 but Vincent fucking took my blowgun without that they they don't work pretty much useless I I mean I I still have my moda pistol but I'm all out of cartridges I could make some with the right tools but not much use to us now.

Speaker 16 So we've got nothing.

Speaker 16 Gray,

Speaker 16 hey, at least they got a fridge back here

Speaker 13 with some water

Speaker 29 here, Nakoma.

Speaker 31 Drink something, it might help.

Speaker 6 You're gonna have to hold the bottle, right? Right, uh, here.

Speaker 23 Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry.

Speaker 3 Thanks.

Speaker 23 Here, why don't we make this easier?

Speaker 19 This one has a straw.

Speaker 1 Just put the bottle in your pocket and

Speaker 10 presto.

Speaker 22 I found reductulus.

Speaker 6 Well, good.

Speaker 29 You look it too.

Speaker 6 Um.

Speaker 17 Uh, presto. Uh,

Speaker 17 what's that?

Speaker 8 Some uh magician saying. I heard it once in an old movie.

Speaker 6 Huh.

Speaker 17 Yeah,

Speaker 17 still still getting used to your slang.

Speaker 26 You know what, Will?

Speaker 29 When we get a chance, I can start catching you up. Welcome to the outside world.

Speaker 19 This is not easy.

Speaker 8 Keep pushing fluids, Nakoma.

Speaker 29 That should help with the toxins or whatever, right?

Speaker 11 Yeah.

Speaker 29 There's a bag of apples and pears in the back, too, for your

Speaker 29 in-flight meal.

Speaker 6 Not bad. Oh, good.

Speaker 17 Yeah,

Speaker 17 I was starting to get hungry.

Speaker 31 What now?

Speaker 22 It's nothing. Well, flip windshield L and R under anti-ice.

Speaker 6 Uh, got it.

Speaker 17 Yeah, it was getting hard to see.

Speaker 23 How do you know how to do this stuff, Nakoma?

Speaker 8 It's pretty rare to find someone who can fly anymore.

Speaker 18 I was a supply runner for the boar.

Speaker 22 After I was a contender, but before I was a trapper.

Speaker 4 You you were?

Speaker 17 What did you haul?

Speaker 22 This and that.

Speaker 22 By plane or helicopter, depending on the distance. Every so often I had to travel to get some more toxins for the darts for myself or the boar.

Speaker 29 Those frogs that you were talking about?

Speaker 6 Mm-hmm.

Speaker 29 Where do you keep those? It's gotta be someplace special.

Speaker 22 Can't say. Only I know.

Speaker 6 Collateral.

Speaker 22 Exactly.

Speaker 31 You die, and no one gets to use your darts anymore.

Speaker 6 Uh-huh.

Speaker 22 Kept me useful.

Speaker 22 Which kept me alive.

Speaker 17 Well, once you aren't useful,

Speaker 17 you're disposable.

Speaker 17 I know what that's like.

Speaker 22 Do what you have to, whatever the cost.

Speaker 5 Yeah,

Speaker 8 like capturing more people who are disposable.

Speaker 22 Not every choice is an easy one, but I'm trying to make things right. I am here now, aren't I?

Speaker 31 Yeah, only because I carried you.

Speaker 22 I'd be here regardless. I helped you get out of the stadium, didn't I?

Speaker 25 And now look at how far I'm going.

Speaker 17 She did help a lot to get us here.

Speaker 7 Yeah, whatever, we'll just focus on flying.

Speaker 6 Just look at it all.

Speaker 17 So many farms and buildings.

Speaker 17 I mean, I can't even begin to imagine.

Speaker 7 Down there.

Speaker 22 A bunch of dead cities.

Speaker 22 A few scattered pockets of people who managed to survive, but mostly skeletons of what it used to be.

Speaker 6 Still,

Speaker 17 even then,

Speaker 17 what are these places like

Speaker 17 i've read books about other locations but but but never really seen anything outside of prim

Speaker 17 this is all new very weird and and and and kind of scary but our time with the boar is over

Speaker 17 there's no way she'd catch us now right

Speaker 22 not much of a chance

Speaker 22 You think she died back in Prim?

Speaker 6 I doubt it.

Speaker 17 She'd have a plan, she always does.

Speaker 22 Well, she has a hell of a lot of other things to focus on now rather than us.

Speaker 22 Besides, we're hundreds of miles away by now.

Speaker 23 How far do you think Vincent's going?

Speaker 23 Where is he taking Vera?

Speaker 17 There's no way to know. Only that his plane's currently headed east, southeast-ish.

Speaker 22 You think they're headed all the way past the Mississippi to the UA?

Speaker 6 I mean, maybe.

Speaker 1 United America does have a lot of airstrips.

Speaker 8 Can they go that far?

Speaker 26 I mean, can we?

Speaker 6 Maybe.

Speaker 22 We have to know more about our plane for one.

Speaker 6 Uh,

Speaker 22 check- check behind my seat.

Speaker 25 I think I saw a book or manual about that.

Speaker 6 Oh, got it.

Speaker 23 Cessna citation.

Speaker 22 Look inside for the spec sheet.

Speaker 17 Page should say range on it.

Speaker 6 Um.

Speaker 27 Found it.

Speaker 8 Says 1530 nautical miles.

Speaker 29 What does that mean?

Speaker 29 Look, we just needed to go further than Vincent and Vera, right?

Speaker 27 So, how far can they go?

Speaker 17 Uh, well, did either of you get a look at uh what kind of jet they took off in?

Speaker 22 I was more focused on not swallowing my tongue.

Speaker 27 I mean, before you choked me out, I was close to it, but I don't know shit about planes.

Speaker 29 It looked kind of like ours. Maybe, maybe a little bigger.

Speaker 22 Can you tell anything from the transponder, Will?

Speaker 6 Uh,

Speaker 17 yeah, I guess, kind of, but but I didn't want to say anything.

Speaker 26 What does that mean? Speak English.

Speaker 6 Uh

Speaker 17 Vincent's in a faster plane. The distance between us has been growing.

Speaker 16 Wait, are we gonna lose him?

Speaker 22 A faster plane.

Speaker 17 And if it looked bigger on the runway, I'm betting they're built to go further.

Speaker 30 Damn it!

Speaker 26 Don't tell me that, okay? Can we do anything, Will?

Speaker 22 Every plane has a small reserve of fuel. May push a little further than what the manual says, but I don't know how far.

Speaker 17 As it is, we still have to see where they land.

Speaker 17 That'll be hard enough.

Speaker 17 Okay, we may need to start thinking about alternatives.

Speaker 15 No, Will, there are no alternatives, okay?

Speaker 16 We can't lose her.

Speaker 22 You want to just fall out of the sky?

Speaker 16 Let it come to that? I mean, of course not, but I'm still.

Speaker 6 Oh, boy.

Speaker 10 What?

Speaker 6 What now?

Speaker 17 If we come up short, there's a chance we'll end up landing in the Republic.

Speaker 16 Could that be where Vincent's going?

Speaker 17 I mean, I don't know. I would need to check the GPS and do some math and triangulation.
And oh,

Speaker 25 easy. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 17 If you want me to figure it out, I'd need someone to take the controls.

Speaker 22 So I gotta move out of this co-pilot seat.

Speaker 6 Nick! Me?

Speaker 16 Um, gee, I don't know about that.

Speaker 6 Better you than me.

Speaker 22 I'm barely hands and fingers over here.

Speaker 26 Fuck. Uh, all right, give me your water.

Speaker 17 You're gonna have to take it.

Speaker 29 You ready to move?

Speaker 22 Yep.

Speaker 22 This is is all you, sorry.

Speaker 11 Whatever.

Speaker 6 Three,

Speaker 6 two.

Speaker 6 Don't let her just go.

Speaker 17 Well, easy, easy. She will watch her feet on the controls.

Speaker 6 I'm trying.

Speaker 18 This feels so weird.

Speaker 6 You should try it.

Speaker 26 Yeah, no, thank you.

Speaker 10 It sucks.

Speaker 16 I remember it.

Speaker 6 You alright?

Speaker 15 I'm not that heavy.

Speaker 27 I'll be fine.

Speaker 6 Just stay there.

Speaker 32 You're not alright.

Speaker 22 Your arm's bleeding.

Speaker 11 That, I'm okay.

Speaker 7 Don't worry about it.

Speaker 17 There's a first aid kit in the back of the cockpit.

Speaker 25 Thanks.

Speaker 6 Is it bad?

Speaker 27 Just focus on flying.

Speaker 6 Alright, Will.

Speaker 22 I'm focusing on you. When is bleeding like that not a big deal?

Speaker 6 Uh

Speaker 17 is it is it from what happened in the stadium?

Speaker 13 Well, I don't know what you're talking about, okay?

Speaker 16 Let's just take care of this and then we'll swap out.

Speaker 22 What happened in the stadium?

Speaker 17 I didn't want to bring it up, but I have been a little worried.

Speaker 22 Nick, what is he talking about?

Speaker 27 Nick, it's a nothing, okay?

Speaker 22 Let me see.

Speaker 11 No, you don't need to.

Speaker 6 What happened, well, what do you know?

Speaker 17 I, uh, uh, I can't say.

Speaker 22 You gonna make me dart your ass and look myself

Speaker 30 when I can.

Speaker 27 I'm fine, obviously.

Speaker 22 Then why would you try to hide it?

Speaker 22 Holy shit.

Speaker 22 You were bit.

Speaker 7 And now we continue with Descendants.

Speaker 22 You were bit.

Speaker 22 Land this plane.

Speaker 6 Let me hell off. Fuck.
Fuck. Well, why did you say anything before?

Speaker 25 I didn't want to say anything.

Speaker 24 It doesn't matter, okay?

Speaker 22 The hell it doesn't.

Speaker 6 We don't have much time. Well, listen to me.

Speaker 22 He may not look infected, but he could still be a slow terminal.

Speaker 16 I'm not that either.

Speaker 33 How could you know? Because.

Speaker 6 Because why?

Speaker 25 Because I'm immune.

Speaker 6 Bullshit.

Speaker 26 No one is.

Speaker 27 My father was.

Speaker 30 Same as my grandma, and I guess...

Speaker 27 I guess I am too.

Speaker 22 You guessed.

Speaker 6 I saw it happen when Nick was bitten.

Speaker 17 Alvin watched too. He said he heard about people that were,

Speaker 17 you know, but it's unbelievably rare. It's why Alvin wanted me to go to you because you were special.

Speaker 29 Did he, huh?

Speaker 31 That's why you came.

Speaker 17 Well, I mean, I didn't know

Speaker 17 I didn't know what else to do. Things were getting out of hand and Prim, he told me all that, and that he wanted me to take you to some director.

Speaker 17 And then Alvin, obsessed about his papers, made me take the scans with me. I have no idea what any of this meant, but all of that was what led me to you, and now we're here.

Speaker 8 Alvin was always a little crazy.

Speaker 22 What's crazy is you actually believe that shit.

Speaker 22 Nick's gonna turn on us at any moment.

Speaker 11 Well, if it comes to that, good thing I'm strapped in.

Speaker 31 Now, what do I need to do, Will?

Speaker 28 Just take the steering thing, the sticks, and sure.

Speaker 17 Nakoma, how do I switch it over? You two are unbelievable.

Speaker 29 Not much you can do about it right now, can you?

Speaker 22 Don't remind me.

Speaker 17 How do I transfer control?

Speaker 22 You better be ready to switch it back.

Speaker 22 Does this plane have a parachute?

Speaker 17 From this height, it wouldn't matter.

Speaker 19 Great.

Speaker 22 Center switch below your elbow.

Speaker 17 Got it.

Speaker 6 Hey, hey, hey, hey. Easy.

Speaker 17 Now, up and down goes... Yeah, you got it.

Speaker 6 Yeah, alright, alright, alright.

Speaker 29 I played a video game once that was like this.

Speaker 10 Doesn't seem too difficult.

Speaker 28 So long as I don't have to mess with all these buttons.

Speaker 17 No need. Now, hold it steady and keep Vincent's plane right where it is now in the windshield.
Just give me a few minutes.

Speaker 17 I need to play with the GPS and do some math and just just give my hands a rest.

Speaker 28 Um, Doc, I can I can barely see the blinky lights of the plane now.

Speaker 22 You really trust that he's not gonna turn on you, Will.

Speaker 17 I mean, I've seen people turn in the arenas before.

Speaker 17 It's never been like this.

Speaker 17 He's either gifted or damn lucky.

Speaker 3 Yeah,

Speaker 2 lucky.

Speaker 18 Let's say you are like immune.

Speaker 22 Does anyone else know?

Speaker 6 No.

Speaker 31 No one knew for sure.

Speaker 29 I didn't even until now.

Speaker 8 Everyone around me tried to keep it a secret, along with anything that involved my dad or my grandma.

Speaker 22 You know for a fact they were bit and never turned?

Speaker 8 Never turned.

Speaker 22 Anyone else besides them?

Speaker 5 Not that I've ever heard of.

Speaker 8 Figure it's hereditary.

Speaker 29 Something in me that's special.

Speaker 17 That's why Alvin wanted to take you to the director person. Maybe they would know more.
He he he did draw me a map, but I can't even begin to read this.

Speaker 23 Here, let me see.

Speaker 17 All of his other notes he gave me were gibberish, so I mean... Alvin drew this?

Speaker 12 Ink's writing was clear.

Speaker 6 Oh my god, I know.

Speaker 17 No clue where that map even begins.

Speaker 29 Not that it matters anyway.

Speaker 28 Alvin was part of some crazy cult.

Speaker 29 I'm sure as hell not falling for this tribe.

Speaker 31 The only thing I'm focusing on right now is getting Vera back.

Speaker 22 Why would Vincent take her at all?

Speaker 25 What would be the point?

Speaker 30 I don't know.

Speaker 27 He said some shit too.

Speaker 29 Before he took off things, he shouldn't even know about my home stuff.

Speaker 31 I never told him.

Speaker 8 He's he's hiding something.

Speaker 6 Uh-huh.

Speaker 22 One minute he's playing nice on our side. Next minute, he sends a dart in my neck.
Two-face is what he is.

Speaker 31 Yeah, I'm having a real hard time seeing a difference between the both of you.

Speaker 22 Well, I never lied to you.

Speaker 29 Oh, that I know of.

Speaker 22 You're one to talk. Hiding an infected bite? That's like the worst thing someone can do right there.

Speaker 13 Oh, coming from someone who sold slaves for a living?

Speaker 17 Guys, guys, please.

Speaker 22 I had no choice. I am so sick and tired of you throwing that back in my face.

Speaker 13 Oh, I will never let you forget what you did.

Speaker 24 Not after what you...

Speaker 28 Not after what happened to Lisa.

Speaker 13 Oh, don't for a minute think that I forgot.

Speaker 13 Guys, I've loved her.

Speaker 25 Come on.

Speaker 22 And now I have to live with that too.

Speaker 17 I know what I did.

Speaker 22 I'm trying to make up for it.

Speaker 6 You know, no matter what you try to do, nothing will ever bring her back. I know.

Speaker 13 God damn it. I can't.

Speaker 9 I can't do it.

Speaker 27 Will, Will, just breathe, man.

Speaker 16 Take it easy.

Speaker 17 I really wish I could. I really do.
I just... I gotta get out of this chair.

Speaker 22 If I have to. Look what you did.

Speaker 16 What I did?

Speaker 6 Oh.

Speaker 25 Wait, Will, Will, don't go.

Speaker 10 I can't.

Speaker 6 I can't do this by myself. I'm sorry.

Speaker 6 Shit.

Speaker 26 Shit,

Speaker 11 now it's just me.

Speaker 6 Alone.

Speaker 22 All you have to do is hold it steady. Nothing else.
Don't start freaking out.

Speaker 24 I'm not freaking out, okay?

Speaker 22 Could have fooled me.

Speaker 24 What what's wrong with him?

Speaker 28 He's been acting funny for a while, since before we even took off, but now it's getting worse.

Speaker 22 He's all sweaty, too.

Speaker 6 Oh man, is he infected?

Speaker 16 Is he the one we should be worried about?

Speaker 22 Doesn't seem like it.

Speaker 23 What, air sick, maybe?

Speaker 6 No.

Speaker 22 I've seen people like this before, sweating, shaking, jittery.

Speaker 17 You know what he is?

Speaker 25 In withdrawal.

Speaker 5 Wait, wait, from what?

Speaker 20 Drugs? Mm-hmm.

Speaker 26 Where would he even get those?

Speaker 6 The boar.

Speaker 22 Another one of her little side hustles.

Speaker 22 She peddles stardust.

Speaker 1 What's stardust?

Speaker 22 A mixture of things.

Speaker 6 Very big high.

Speaker 22 She liked to control her people. I wouldn't doubt she'd give that to Will.

Speaker 11 Damn.

Speaker 2 Poor guy.

Speaker 23 So, his medicine that he was talking about.

Speaker 8 Uh-huh.

Speaker 6 I know.

Speaker 25 I'm so sorry.

Speaker 17 I really am. I just.

Speaker 19 It's okay.

Speaker 22 Sit down. Drink some water.
Okay.

Speaker 22 Maybe Nick can put it in your pocket. Get you a little straw, too.

Speaker 29 Why not a fancy little umbrella while we're at it?

Speaker 22 You haven't had any in a while, right?

Speaker 4 No, I I uh I I haven't

Speaker 4 uh

Speaker 17 I heard you talking

Speaker 22 Was it Stardust?

Speaker 22 Yeah,

Speaker 22 oh man, um

Speaker 6 sorry, well

Speaker 17 I I didn't ever think it was gonna be this hard

Speaker 17 I can't even hold the pen straight.

Speaker 23 Hey, yes, sir.

Speaker 8 Sorry, I I got the plane.

Speaker 22 You just sit over there and take a break.

Speaker 17 No, no, I need to do this now. Uh toss me the pen and paper.

Speaker 6 Yeah, let's go.

Speaker 29 Okay, okay, yeah.

Speaker 6 This this ain't like driving. I gotta, I gotta use two hands.

Speaker 17 And the flight manual, too. Might might be helpful.

Speaker 13 Anything else?

Speaker 17 This w shouldn't take long. I mean, if my hands would just hold still, I at least this is giving me something to focus on.

Speaker 25 Hey, hey, hey,

Speaker 9 It's all good.

Speaker 25 All good.

Speaker 30 Just a little bump in the road.

Speaker 27 You know, I got this. I got this.

Speaker 11 I think.

Speaker 18 Some crew this is.

Speaker 22 One paralyzed, one bitten, and one coming down from a lifetime high.

Speaker 30 While flying a plane blindly into the night.

Speaker 29 Don't forget that.

Speaker 17 Well,

Speaker 17 maybe not. Totally blind.

Speaker 6 Why?

Speaker 22 You got something?

Speaker 17 What

Speaker 17 I believe is their flight path.

Speaker 27 Whoa, no shit.

Speaker 16 You know where they're going?

Speaker 17 It's been fairly consistent since we started tracking them. There's been no major deviations.

Speaker 17 This path doesn't line up with any major airstrip in the Republic or the UA, as far as I can tell.

Speaker 11 You sure?

Speaker 29 Then where are they going?

Speaker 17 I may be wrong, but...

Speaker 17 I figure it's somewhere in here.

Speaker 17 There's an entire state between the UA and the Republic that's still in the Red Zone. It used to be called Louisiana.

Speaker 18 That's in the middle of nowhere.

Speaker 25 Yeah, I know.

Speaker 23 Why the hell would Vincent take her there?

Speaker 23 What?

Speaker 17 God, this is a pain in the ass.

Speaker 6 On

Speaker 6 our

Speaker 6 way

Speaker 8 now.

Speaker 8 Finally sent.

Speaker 29 Manual transmissions are the worst.

Speaker 6 What?

Speaker 6 Where?

Speaker 6 What the hell?

Speaker 6 How did I...

Speaker 6 Oh, hey, you!

Speaker 16 You're finally awake back there.

Speaker 13 I'd offer you some in-flight service, but I'm a little busy in the cockpit.

Speaker 6 Vincent, damn it!

Speaker 22 What the hell have you done? Where's Nick?

Speaker 29 He's fine.

Speaker 29 Or at least he was when I left him on the runway back in Brim.

Speaker 29 Pretty sure they would have made it out, but that was many miles ago.

Speaker 6 Holy shit.

Speaker 33 No!

Speaker 6 Let me go!

Speaker 22 Why are you doing this?

Speaker 16 I'll untie you once we get there.

Speaker 34 Didn't want you waking up and hurting yourself or me.

Speaker 20 I mean, someone's gotta fly something.

Speaker 22 Sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight.

Speaker 6 Vincent, why

Speaker 17 I trusted you, still should, Vera.

Speaker 34 I'm doing this for you.

Speaker 6 For me,

Speaker 6 where the hell are you taking me? Home.

Speaker 34 I'm taking you home

Speaker 4 to your real family.
