I'll tell you what, what those guys go through, to be honest.
Roy McElroy, Scotty Scheffler.
I mean, it is crazy how they put themselves in a situation that could be purveyed in a different way than what they're trying to mean.
And I get it, it's saying.
I've only been the spotlight for so many months, so many times, etc., and I screwed up twice.
And from what I've seen, no matter what kind of a good dude person you are, there's a lot of negativity in the world on this whole social media aspect.
But at the same time, people love me, my family, and my friends, and that's all I care about.
All right, guys, Michael Block here.
First one out tonight, man.
I'm very proud of that, by the way.
Poker is a good thing.
Do I win?
Do I win?
You win.
Do I win nothing?
I win nothing.
You know what I win?
I win.
I get to go to dinner first.
Yeah, you get to go to catch after this at the Oreo.
Yeah, no, I'm actually going.
I'm going to Carbone.
Oh.
Yeah, I've been excited about it.
We made a reservation about...
Six weeks ago.
Carbone, we're coming for you.
Vill Parmesan, bone in.
Let's go.
Shout out to Carbone.
Still golfing a lot these days?
I am.
Played Shadow Creek this morning.
Unbelievable experience.
Fantastic.
Came here to Aria.
Went in.
I had three aces
and three aces.
Think about this.
Two aces on the...
I was dealt two aces.
Ace on the flop.
All right, I lose to Colby.
Good for you, Colby.
Colby Covington.
Colby, with your full house, thank you very much.
Have you golfed with Colby?
Never have.
Never will.
I definitely want to get the ring with Kobe.
Damn.
Shots fired, all right?
No, no, there's no shots fired.
Kobe, we're not fighting.
The Tri-Light from Therasage is no joke.
Medical grade red and near-infrared light with three frequencies per light, deep healing, real results, and totally portable.
It's legit.
Photo biomodulation tech in a flexible on-body panel.
This is the Tri-Light from Therasage and it's next level red light therapy.
It's got 118 high-powered polychromatic lights, each delivering three healing frequencies, red and near-infrared, from 580 to 980 nanometers.
It's sleek, portable, and honestly, I don't go anywhere without it.
Good dude.
Yeah, shout out to Kobe.
I don't want him to fight us.
Either of us, there's been a couple out-of-context viral clips with you involved.
I'd love for you to address.
There's two of them that come to mind.
The first one was playing better in front of crowds.
What did you mean by that one?
Yeah, for sure.
100%.
Playing in front of crowds.
PGA championship this last year at Quill Hollow.
Best shot I hit all week was at
Par 5, driver off the deck, had this huge crowd.
It was so sick.
And I hit this thing
and it rolled.
I probably hit it like 220 in the air and then it rolled like 80 yards and went in between and the creek and the rough and rolled on the green.
And then at the end of the day, I come out of the locker room and someone interviews me and goes, hey, tell me about that shot you hit on.
seven or eight or whatever it was and I go sick I go
I had this huge crowd and I hit the best shot of my day.
That's all I said.
And
the
press took it the wrong way, as what's happened in the past with me, and it was a bummer.
And I've kind of learned that,
I don't know, I don't know how to handle it in the future, to be honest.
I kind of don't want to be in the spotlight, to be honest, to be in the future.
I'm going to turn 50 here in a couple months.
Congrats.
And
play some senior tour stuff and kind of go out in the sunset.
I could see why, because I have on a lot of pro athletes, I could see why they're closed off with media interviews.
Because they seem like they're trying to get them to say something, you know?
I'll tell you what, what those guys go through, to be honest, Roy McElroy, Scotty Scheffler, I mean, it is crazy what,
how they put themselves in a situation that could be purveyed in a different way than what they're trying to mean.
And I get it.
Like, it's insane.
Like, I take.
Shout out to today's sponsor, Quince.
As the weather cools, I'm swapping in the pieces that actually gets the job done, that are warm, durable, and built to last.
Quince delivers every time with wardrobe staples that'll carry you through the season.
They have false staples that you'll actually want to wear, like the 100% Mongolian cashmere for just $60.
They also got classic fit denim and real leather and wool outerwear that looks sharp and holds up.
By partnering directly with ethical factories and top artisans, Quince cuts out the middleman to deliver premium quality at half the cost of similar brands.
They've really become a go-to across the board.
You guys know how I love linen and how I've talked about it on previous episodes.
I picked up some linen pants and they feel incredible.
The quality is definitely noticeable compared to other brands.
Layer up this fall with pieces that feel as good as they look.
Go to quince.com slash DSH for free shipping on your order and 365-day returns.
They're also available in Canada too.
What they do is insane because
I've only been the spotlight for so many months, so many times, etc.
And I screwed up twice.
Two for two.
I was two for two in ways that I never even tried.
And people took it the wrong way.
And it is what it is.
But at the same time, people love me, my family, and my friends.
And that's all I care about.
Yeah, you got thrusted in it where I feel like those guys, they have some media training, they got some PR people around them.
You were just in there.
100%.
Yeah, I had no PR training.
I'm sitting there literally like just blood, sweat, and tears and going with it.
And
I had no idea that people would look at at certain things that I said in a bad way but they did and uh and and from what I've seen no matter what kind of a good dude and person you are uh there's a lot of uh negativity in the world on this whole social media aspect yep that uh
it's got to change there's got to be a new way to go about it that social media's got to change and these people these key what they call keyboard warriors cannot
thrive I honestly don't see it changing'cause the way the algorithm works is they will promote anything that gets the most engagement.
You know what I mean?
Which is such a bummer.
You know what?
Because I don't think they know.
Obviously, the guy living in South Dakota on his keyboard doesn't know me, has never met me.
And that's my whole thing.
It's like, if you meet me and you don't like me, I totally agree.
Trash me.
I don't care.
It's fine.
But if you meet me and you hang out with me and you go to dinner with me or play golf with me or anything else,
you can say whatever you want.
Yeah.
Rory can say wherever he wants.
Justin Rose on that Saturday can say wherever he wants.
But if you have never been with me, and
you don't have the right to say it.
Yeah, fair point, because the players speak pretty positively of you, I noticed, right?
Hey, I've got no problem with anyone that's ever been around me, and I got a lot of great friends, and that's the most important thing to me is family and friends by far.
The other viral clip was basically saying if you hit as far as Roy McElroy, you would be one of the greats, right?
Yeah, so Roy McElroy, if I hit hit it 350 in the air, would I be the best player in the world?
Absolutely not.
I never said that in my life and never would.
You can look back at all clips and would never be one of the best players in the world.
Is what I said was
I would be a lot better.
And that's true.
Anyone in this world, if you hit it 40 yards further than what you do right now, you'll be ranked at your country club.
in the amateur tour, a professional tour, or whatever it is, a lot higher than you are right now.
Guarantee it.
And Roy was so impressive when i played him in the pj championship and he's such a good dude but the guy bombs it 40 50 60 yards by me and you when you think about it that's i don't know what is that five clubs less to every single hole right makes life a little easier definitely so definitely i would at that point i think i was ranked like 600 600th in the world and i think i would have been ranked slightly higher if i would have been hitting it 340 in the air.
How did that one get so viral?
Like, what exactly happened there?
Yeah, well, people, you know, I was on the Bob Menry.
I like Bob.
Bob's great.
But I did Bob Menry
show, and
Bob asked me about the difference between me and Rory.
And I said, yeah, he gets a lot further than me, and I would be a lot higher ranked than
I am right now, which was true.
Yeah.
100% true.
And I will never, ever take anything back from what I said whatsoever.
Damn, and the media ran with that.
That's crazy.
They ran with it.
Wow, so they're even watching podcasts and
good for them.
What you're saying on shows, that's interesting.
100%.
Wow, that's crazy.
so you said you don't want the spotlight anymore i don't i turned 50 in a couple months and uh
i'm gonna go to spot yeah i'm gonna go to senior tour stuff and uh i turned 50 and i still feel like honestly i'm
34 in my heart 34 in my brain as my boys here know
these are your kids i don't know yeah those are my kids
Yeah, thanks, Mike.
Appreciate you, my kids.
Those are not my kids.
Those are my boys.
See, that's what I'm talking about.
Because for me,
my kids are actually 18 and 20 years old, and they are between the ages of 30 and 40, those guys, who are my friends.
And my tendency is this:
I hang out with people, and I can guarantee you for a fact that these guys right here would tell you who are between the ages of 30 and 40, that Baki
acts like he's 25.
I feel like I'm 25.
And the senior tour next year has a whole nother thing coming to him
when I turn 50.
I'll tell you that right now.
You got a young soul.
I have a very young soul.
And I like to get after it.
It's going to be hard to make friends on the senior tour then.
Nope.
I love them.
We're going to get after it.
And I'm going to kick their ass.
When are you going to hit the poker tables again?
Are you done after this experience?
No, yeah, yeah.
You know what?
I'll tell you what.
I tripped aces, and I lost again.
And you know what?
I'm going to go down in flames, and I'm going to go surfing next week.
That's all I'm.
going surfing.
Screw this poker.
No, surfing.
Going surfing.
Catch them on the waves, guys.
Well, dude, thanks for your time.
You're the buck.
Thanks, Mike.
Appreciate you.
Cool.
I hope you guys are enjoying the show.
Please don't forget to like and subscribe.
It helps the show a lot with the algorithm.
Thank you.
