Speaker 1 This episode is brought to you by No C D. Have you ever had a really, really stressful, unwanted thought that pops up during worship? I have.
Speaker 1 Maybe you feel like you needed to start your prayer over because it wasn't right or perfect. It filled you with shame or caused crushing guilt because it felt like it offended God.
Speaker 1 A lot of people have thoughts like these, including Ange and I. And trust us, we know how scary and isolating it can be to struggle with it.
Speaker 1 They can even lead to compulsive behavior like constantly asking for reassurance, punishing yourself for having bad thoughts or worrying about participating in religious practices like praying incorrectly.
Speaker 1
And Ari and I have dealt with a lot of these things. But here's what changed everything for us.
Learning that these thoughts aren't character flaws or signs of weak faith.
Speaker 1
They might be symptoms of religious OCD. also known as scrupulosity.
And OCD is so misunderstood, you guys. So a lot of people are surprised to to learn that it can focus on religion.
But it's true.
Speaker 1 OCD can latch onto anything you deeply care about, including your faith. And when it does, it can truly be devastating.
Speaker 1
But there's hope because with the right kind of therapy, OCD is highly treatable. And that's where no CD comes in.
With No C D, you can do virtual therapy designed specifically for OCD.
Speaker 1 There are licensed therapists that deeply understand OCD as well as your faith and how important it is in your life. life.
Speaker 1 They'll help you work through these thoughts using exposure and response prevention or ERP, a type type of specialized therapy that's the most proven treatment for OCD.

Speaker 1 Okay,
Speaker 1 okay. No, Arielle,
Speaker 1 you guys can tell she's not chronically online. Okay,
Speaker 1 what is that? It's just like you just clock it.
Speaker 1
Why are you kissing? I'm Ari. Why are you kissing? I'm faith today.
All right, guys. Hi, I'm Mann.
And I'm Ari. And this is Girls Gone Bible.
Speaker 1
And we are a faith-based podcast where we talk all things, spirituality, mental health, the Bible. We're so happy to be here.
We love you guys so much.
Speaker 1 Thank you to all of our writers, day ones, who've been with us from the very beginning.
Speaker 1
You do that. You do the lip thing.
Yeah, seriously. Thank you.
We freaking love you. I love you guys.
I love you guys so much. And I love more than anything,
Speaker 1
like the humor between us and you guys. First of all, GGB Ying is the funniest.
We send each other memes all day.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1
There was a girl that... A sweet, sweet girl.
And Ari meant to send me
Speaker 1 a video, a reel of one of those like large women jumping into the pool. And she sends it to like a GGB audience
Speaker 1 girl. And the girl texts it and messaged it to me and said lol Ari didn't mean to send me this but I'm so happy she did it I'm like there's a lady diving off like a cliff and and I'm like
Speaker 1 floating and
Speaker 1 I'm like you can't be accidentally sending things to the wrong people
Speaker 1 I love how everyone's timeline is AI now I am so sorry I am so sorry Okay, and then and I have another internet fiasco. I'm freaking
Speaker 1
I got a red light ticket. Yeah, what's up with that? I have to go to court.
Oh, I'm going to jail. Did you understand?
Speaker 1 I got a.
Speaker 1 No,
Speaker 1
I got something. Yeah, I think it was like a red light ticket to it.
We're both going to freaking jail.
Speaker 1 I slaughtered a man.
Speaker 1
I was bawling my eyes out in the courtroom. I was on the phone with my mom.
I'm like, mom, it's done. Like, it is done.
She's like, you're friggin.
Speaker 1
All I had to pay was $65. I didn't even have to.
Is that how you were going to jail? I think I was going to jail. Well, I'm not going to die.
It's terrifying. Ari and I grew up going to court.
Speaker 1 We had to be in court a lot.
Speaker 1 That's a different. That's a story for another day, guys.
Speaker 1 Can I be.
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 1
That's a story for another. That's for GGB Plus.
No, we should talk about our court stories. Can I be honest?
Speaker 1 Ari and I have had to go to court together for a family member, so I'll just leave it at that. And it is,
Speaker 1
no one will ever know us praying in tongues in court. Like, just like, you guys don't know what we've been through.
It's too much. It's too.
Speaker 1 We honestly, if we had a show, I can't even.
Speaker 1 Well, if I'm being honest, I think that might be next.
Speaker 1
Can you imagine? Oh, you know what? I want to do so bad, guys. I actually asked our team and then Ari got mad at me.
I want to go on like one of those survivor shows.
Speaker 1
So can you guys imagine me going on a survivor show? Imagine you and me together. You would put me through hell.
Well, because I'm not going to let it be loose. You're not screaming at me.
Speaker 1
Let's go, Ari. Ariel, come on.
I'm putting my lip liner on. I would be putting on, I know, they would take our lip liner away.
Speaker 1
She wanted to go on the military show. What's that called? Can you imagine us crawling through tunnels? I would have the best time of my life.
I know you would. I know you would.
Speaker 1
I know you What does that say about me? I'd be freaking weird. I'm just trying to find an extension court to dice in my bangs.
To dice in your bangs. I know, but I'm the same.
Speaker 1 I would also want to dice in my bangs, but then I'd also want to go hard. I know you would.
Speaker 1
Just tell everyone, though. Just why don't you tell everyone how, you know, I don't lose a game.
What game?
Speaker 1
You know that we've played games of Bachelorettes and I'm very competitive and I win. Tell them.
Yeah, she is. Oh, Ari's actually very competitive and she wins games.
What else?
Speaker 1 She's also gorgeous and
Speaker 1 can I
Speaker 1 love it? Can I give you a resume? I want to hip you up.
Speaker 1 She's actually amazing and she's also
Speaker 1
I said that I might go sit in a Catholic church and find a Catholic man. I think your husband's Catholic.
I think he is too. I think he is too.
Speaker 1
You would love a nice Catholic in a suit and like... Can't you see? I see a Catholic Catholic in a suit.
He's got a rosary in the pocket. Like always, he's like praying them.
He's not even
Speaker 1 praying.
Speaker 1
I see it for you. I do.
I know. What's he look like?
Speaker 1 I don't know, Ari. I don't want to play this game anymore.
Speaker 1 You've been making her play this game for three years. I have.
Speaker 1
Tell him the story about when I was manic and depressed. I thought she was a psychic.
She thought I was psychic. So when we first met and I told her, like, I, you know, I can, I hear from God.
Speaker 1 You can hear from, everybody hears from God.
Speaker 1 She took that as I was psychic. And so she was,
Speaker 1 she wanted me to, like, get the crystal ball out.
Speaker 1
And ever since then, she's been asking me what her husband looked like. And I, you know, you're just like so desperate and you're like going out of your mind.
You need answers that
Speaker 1
you'll call a psychic because I did. I was, I can't, how could I? I broke those curses though.
You did, didn't you? You did full deliverance. I did.
Speaker 1 No, I wouldn't.
Speaker 1 I said,
Speaker 1 when my friend did deliverance on me, I said, I honestly, this was like dead serious. I was like, I might start throwing up green and like my head might, I might start calling up your walls.
Speaker 1 My head's been, ah,
Speaker 1 that is so unbranded.
Speaker 1 What is that movie called?
Speaker 1 I don't know.
Speaker 1
Those are awful. Awful.
Awful. You are so creepy, man.
Oh, you are.
Speaker 1 You are so creepy.
Speaker 1
So, Ari and I, you guys remember that one episode where Ari goes, you so creepy, man. Ari and I started saying that all the time, like to anything, anybody.
Oh, you so creepy, man.
Speaker 1
Like, we don't actually mean it. We're just saying it.
And we're on. That's the guy thing.
You so creepy, man.
Speaker 1 And we're on tour, and our poor tour manager, what he puts up with with us, I wish you guys could be on a
Speaker 1 fly on the wall.
Speaker 1 We put him through hell.
Speaker 1 We put them i mean we are nightmares not like divas just like we can't we don't know what we don't have our heads on our neck you know that and especially if we know somebody else that's responsible is involved i mean it's all
Speaker 1 like if we know someone else is responsible yeah we really don't use my brain because if they're not then i know i have to like step up right that's what it is yeah and then yeah and
Speaker 1 um so chris our so our tour manager is texting us what we want for for lunch for sweet green. And I, for no reason, text him.
Speaker 1 And I go, You so creepy.
Speaker 1 And he thought you were serious.
Speaker 1
He's like very A-type and literal. And so he obviously doesn't hear it in the accent.
He just reads, You are so creepy.
Speaker 1 And he texts Matt and goes, I'm so creepy.
Speaker 1 So just ask for your sweet green order.
Speaker 1 You're so creepy, man.
Speaker 1 There is nothing.
Speaker 1
Can we make that with our new merch? You so creepy, man. Yeah, that and my mug shot of the red light ticket.
Yeah, on the mug shot I took of you today. Okay, guys, we are playing heads up friggin
Speaker 1 Bible edition.
Speaker 1
Let's go. Do you Old Testament women? No, let's do Jesus.
Or do you want to do David? Because you love David. Well, I do love David, but I'm really into Paul right now.
So. Oh, shoot.
Oh, gosh.
Speaker 1
Paul's my favorite. Paul's your favorite.
Okay.
Speaker 1 I'm just, I love Paul.
Speaker 1 Scared.
Speaker 1 David.
Speaker 1 I am.
Speaker 1 Scared.
Speaker 1
Nervous. What if it doesn't work out? Doubtful.
Doubting Thomas. No.
It's a word.
Speaker 1 I don't know if this is going to work. Waiting season.
Speaker 1 Will it happen? I don't know. um um um is should we are we okay
Speaker 1 all right oh man
Speaker 1 you are a angel
Speaker 1 oh my gosh i'm so embarrassed is that not what you're saying shoot okay that's not what i meant okay you are a
Speaker 1 genius
Speaker 1 star star
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 1 What's going on? I'm here with you. Brilliant.
Speaker 1 Angel.
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 1 I'm going to not eat and
Speaker 1
starve. Fast.
Yes.
Speaker 1
To my feet. He is a lamp unto my feet.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Yeah.
Speaker 1 You were once this.
Speaker 1 That could be a lot of people. You were once.
Speaker 1 Judgy.
Speaker 1
Gossip. Pharisee.
I was a Pharisee.
Speaker 1 Oh man, that was so good.
Speaker 1 Oh, she is a good girl. Good.
Speaker 1
At the well. Woman.
The woman at the well. What was she? She was a good Samaritan.
Speaker 1 Good.
Speaker 1
What did they do to Jesus? Crucified him. Christ crucified.
They nailed him to a cross.
Speaker 1
They put him in bondage. Yeah, they tied his hands.
What do they do? Handcuffs. I'm going in the car.
The car. Car.
Speaker 1 Oh, oh, oh.
Speaker 1
You reap what you. So.
But it's a person that...
Speaker 1 So,
Speaker 1 yes, you got it.
Speaker 1 Oh,
Speaker 1
Jesus goes out onto this thing and it's on the water because they want to do this. They want to fish.
Yeah, but it's a blank, the first word, second word, the thing that they're in. A boat.
Yes.
Speaker 1
Oh, Waymaker. Miracle worker.
Promise keeper. We're not in the middle.
Speaker 1 Okay, but that word.
Speaker 1 Blank keeper. Promise keeper.
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 1 Oh, make me a
Speaker 1 miracle.
Speaker 1 Make me a hmm.
Speaker 1 Mary of she poured the oil on Jesus' feet. Alabaster jar.
Speaker 1 Mary of, it's a place.
Speaker 1
Mary of Bethany. Make me a Bethany.
Okay, let's go.
Speaker 1
Oh. Wait, why am I forgetting his name? That's it.
Matthew.
Speaker 1
What was his job? Money. Matthew.
Tax collector. Yes.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Come on, come on.
Speaker 1 Oh, he nailed him to a cross. What is that act? What is that?
Speaker 1 Sacrifice. You know, when they nailed Jesus to the cross, it was
Speaker 1
Christ and Christ. Crucified.
But it's the
Speaker 1
crucifixion. Sure.
Yep, he didn't.
Speaker 1 Oh, Jesus turned blank into blank.
Speaker 1 Water into wine. Yes, girl.
Speaker 1
Oh, that snake. That's it.
That dirty.
Speaker 1 Yes. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Oh.
Speaker 1
I have so much empathy. Okay.
Compassion. Cool.
I have so much. Thank you for thinking that about me.
I have the gift of faith. Yes, girl.
Okay.
Speaker 1 He is my Lord and Savior. Yes.
Speaker 1 Okay, I don't know about you, but hormone health has always felt like one of those topics we don't really talk about until we're already in the trenches.
Speaker 1 One day everything feels normal, and then suddenly, why am I tired every day? Why is my skin acting up? Why does my mood feel like a roller coaster for no reason? Uh-huh.
Speaker 1
There was a moment where I literally thought, is this my new normal? Yeah, R. It doesn't have to be, girl.
Because guys, we've been trying something that's actually made a real difference for us.
Speaker 1 Glow by Beam. And let us start by saying Beam is offering our listeners an amazing discount.

Speaker 1 All right guys, we talk a lot about living with intention and staying faithful in the little things. Scripture reminds us that our bodies are temples and caring for them is part of our calling.
Speaker 1 Modern life makes that really hard, okay? Stress, processed foods, even just everyday life can put a strain on the systems that keep us going.
Speaker 1
And that's why we're so excited to talk about DOS, a simple daily two-ounce shot that supports liver function. And here's what we love.
DOSE is clinically backed liver health supplement.
Speaker 1 It's a liquid shot and it tastes like fresh squeezed orange juice, not another capsule or chalky powder.
Speaker 1 Just one little shot a day supports your liver's daily function so your body can do the work it was created to do. And listen, your liver is your body's filter.
Speaker 1
It performs 500 functions a day from energy to digestion to fat metabolism and vitamin storage. When it's overworked, you feel it in your day-to-day life.
So with DOS, I've noticed more steady energy,
Speaker 1 better digestion and less bloating, you know,
Speaker 1 a more balanced feeling in the day, which is really nice, and help getting through that midday slump, which I get in the middle of the day.
Speaker 1 It's zero sugar, zero junk, and genuinely fits easily into our our routine. And what really matters to me is trust.
Speaker 1 DOS has two double-blind placebo-controlled studies showing its positive impact on liver enzyme levels. Every day we get the chance to invest in our future selves.
Speaker 1 And for us, taking DOS is one of those daily acts of stewardship. If you're ready to honor your health and invest in your future self, try DOS with code GGB.
Speaker 1 New customers can save 35% off on your first month of subscription by going to dosedaily.co/slash GGB or entering GGB at checkout.
Speaker 1 That's D-O-S-E-D-A-I-L-Y dot c o slash ggb for 35% off your first month subscription.
Speaker 1 Guys, today we are talking about how to guard your eyes, your mind, your heart, because eyes are the gateway to the heart. The scripture says that the eye is the lamp into the body.
Speaker 1 Like literally everything that we see, everything that we take in, everything that we digest
Speaker 1 makes a massive impact on our life.
Speaker 1 And I think Ari and I are so, so passionate about this because not in a weird religious way, not in an annoying way, not in like a, um, you have to be super fearful of everything in the world type of way, but genuinely, it is one of the most important things for me, and I know for you too, to guard the things that I watch and see, your gates, I gates,
Speaker 1 because
Speaker 1 you can go down a funny, slippery slope very quickly.
Speaker 1 And yeah, what would it be like for you?
Speaker 1 Well,
Speaker 1
it's been real. I think what's been interesting for me is how sensitive I've gotten the closer I've gotten to Jesus.
Oh my gosh, that's so true. Right? Praise God.
That's a really good thing.
Speaker 1
I see one little something, something, and I'm like, oh, that does not feel good. That makes me feel something so quickly.
And I think
Speaker 1 the further away you get from sin and from darkness and from just like anything that doesn't glorify Jesus, you become so sensitive to it. I never want to be desensitized
Speaker 1 to
Speaker 1 the things that I see
Speaker 1 because yeah, I've just seen such a major transformation in my life when I really took it seriously that I don't want to see anything dirty. I don't want to see anything weird.
Speaker 1 I don't want to see anything, even not even like anything necessarily sinful, but being on social media is really detrimental because it's like you fill your mind with scripture, you fill your mind with the things of God, and then you get on Instagram two seconds later and you're sent completely opposite messaging, you know?
Speaker 1 Um
Speaker 1 do you know
Speaker 1 I was on
Speaker 1
social media the other day and I just was like, I had a day off, so I was just like scrolling for about an hour and I got off it and I felt so sick. Yeah.
Like I didn't feel good. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Isn't that crazy? I believe it 100%. That's how I feel.
And I've been on social media.
Speaker 1 I told you guys I took that fast and it was amazing. And then I get back on social media, like I said, just like I never left.
Speaker 1
And it's the hardest, it's the hardest thing to balance, especially for us. Like our job is on social media.
We're supposed to be on there and it's so detrimental.
Speaker 1 So obviously it's not completely avoidable, but I think awareness is key, awareness to how easily we're influenced and manipulated. And
Speaker 1 I have a little story before we get into scripture. I, you know, you guys know I'm on like a journey with body image and food and just like a lot of, you know, disordered eating stuff.
Speaker 1 And I have, I'm like in shock,
Speaker 1
blown away by the improvement that I've made in relationship to my body. And I'm so grateful to Jesus.
It's crazy.
Speaker 1
You really have. I've made so much improvement and I like never thought that I'd have breakthrough.
I have such a healthier relationship to my body.
Speaker 1 And that's not obviously to say it's perfect, but I definitely don't fiend
Speaker 1 for thinness like I used to. Or
Speaker 1
yeah, just put such an emphasis on that. Like I feel so much freedom in my body.
I feel so much freedom with food. It's crazy.
I still have like safe foods, not even safe foods anymore.
Speaker 1 I just, I'm plain and I like what I like, but I
Speaker 1
will eat things that that I wouldn't have eaten before. I've gone, I don't think about food the way that I used to.
It doesn't, I never feel stressed out. I never feel,
Speaker 1 I never feel like, oh man, was that bad? What I just ate? Should I have not like I have just food freedom and freedom doesn't mean that you just eat like necessarily whatever you want.
Speaker 1
It just is that I don't think about it. It's not something that hangs over me that I worry about.
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 I know this isn't part of the episode, but I want to ask you for some people that are struggling with eating disorder,
Speaker 1 what have you done? Like, what are the steps and stuff? Yeah, I'll tell you the one thing that I've done other than fast or not fasting, other than praying and bringing it to Jesus every day.
Speaker 1 I've spent a long time praying over my body every day, laying hands on myself.
Speaker 1 And I think I've said this before, but just blessing my body to eat and to receive nutrients and like to enjoy food and praying over my mind, praying over my stomach, just like praying over those neural pathways that have been so manipulated all these years and just praying, praying, praying and don't stop praying.
Speaker 1 And even if you feel like nothing Grand Canyon University is an affordable private Christian university in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, offering over 360 academic programs informed by industry and student learning outcomes.
Speaker 1 In addition to federal grants and aid, GCU's on-campus students received approximately $196 million in scholarships in 2024.
Speaker 1 On average, undergraduate students graduate with approximately $6,200 less federal and private loan debt than students at private non-profit four-year universities, and many have the opportunity to graduate in less than four years.
Speaker 1 One of the country's largest universities, GCU is ranked among the top 25 college campuses in America. Visit gcu.edu slash myoffer to see what scholarships you may qualify for.
Speaker 1
Admissible high school seniors and transfer students can schedule a complimentary visit from anywhere in the country. Find your purpose at GCU.
Private, Christian, affordable.
Speaker 1
Visit gcu.edu slash myoffer. Everything is changing.
You keep praying because I promise you your prayers are working.
Speaker 1 And even the intention of praying that there would be a shift in your mentality towards food, I believe is like you coming into agreement with that reality.
Speaker 1
And it does something to your brain. You know, I've been doing that with my mind.
Let's go. Every morning, I will literally physically put my hands over my head and pray over my mind.
Speaker 1
And it's even, it's, you're coming into agreement that this is the reality that I want to live in. That's so good.
So what were you saying there?
Speaker 1 And so obviously praying, accountability, having people help me, like, you know, and...
Speaker 1 call me out if they're like, everything okay? Like,
Speaker 1 but the one thing that my friend Johnny put me on that I'm so like so grateful to him for this is he encouraged me to track my protein I think I've said this before but to track my protein and eat my body weight in protein every single day
Speaker 1 and
Speaker 1 um for me
Speaker 1 I could not, I can't believe the impact that it's had on my life that
Speaker 1 just hitting 120 grams of protein a day, I thought I was doing it because my body needed that food and it needed those nutrients, which it did.
Speaker 1 But I had no idea the psychological effect that it would have on my brain to switch from always thinking about how can I eat less today? Because that was always my mentality.
Speaker 1 How can I like portion my meals and spread them out to where I can eat as little as possible to get through the day?
Speaker 1 And then I shift to how, oh my gosh, it's 3 p.m. and I've only had 40 grams of protein.
Speaker 1 i have to eat so it's like an app no no just you track it yourself you see the nutritional facts like a piece of chicken is whatever however many grams so you track it throughout the day and now that i've been doing it so long i don't need to track it because i know i can i can tell now but again going from how can i make sure i eat as little as possible to switching completely and having a goal to eat more because i would realize every day oh my gosh i still haven't hit my goal i need to eat more by the end of the day.
Speaker 1
I'm like, oh, gotta get in another 40 grams. So, that mental switch of eating less to hitting a goal to eat more has been astronomical.
It's changed everything. It is so simple.
Speaker 1
It's one little practice that you track your protein and you hit your goal, which is your body weight and protein. I'm not a doctor.
I don't figure out what other people should be eating.
Speaker 1
This is what worked for me. But it's that one little switch.
So it's like, it's all mental. Everything is so mental and so that is how i have gained so much freedom and um
Speaker 1 yeah like truly giving it to jesus that i don't have to look like anything except what i look like and
Speaker 1 asking god to put love in my heart for that and heal those anyways so this is what i was going to say so
Speaker 1 i am
Speaker 1
off of social media and I come to such a good place with my body. Just like, I'm like, I love my curves.
I love my body. I love what I look like.
Speaker 1 It might not be like perfect 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but it's my body. And it doesn't, I finally got to a place where I was like, it doesn't need to look like anything.
Speaker 1
Like it could just look like what it is. I exercise.
I eat well. I don't need to think about it more than that.
I'm not a model.
Speaker 1 I'm not a freaking bikini model that needs to show my, you know what I mean? There's no reason why I need to look a certain way other than how I look.
Speaker 1 You know, whoever I marry one day is not going to be like, oh, yeah, you have a six pack. Like, it's just,
Speaker 1 so I finally got to a place where I was like, okay, I don't need to look like anything except what I look like. There's no goal to reach.
Speaker 1
I don't have to be so sickly thin. And my body can't look like that anyways.
That's not my body. So you have to accept your body.
Like you do. If your body looks a certain way, you have to accept it.
Speaker 1 I get to such a good place and I just remember this being such a specific moment for me. I get to such a good place
Speaker 1 and I go on social media and I see one girl
Speaker 1
who is so thin and she's like a model. And that's probably what this girl looks like.
That's probably her natural weight. Like she should look like that, you know, or not, maybe I don't know.
Speaker 1 But there are girls who are very thin who should look like that because that's their body. I I look at that, and all of a sudden, immediately my mind is flooded with:
Speaker 1
I need to starve. I need to be thin.
I need to look like that. I want to have separation in my arms.
I want to have my ribs showing.
Speaker 1
I want to have, like, immediately, I was actively aware of what was taking place in my mind where I was like, I don't feel this way anymore. I love my body.
I genuinely do. But seeing one,
Speaker 1 seeing one girl who looked away that I used to think that I should look immediately brought me back to that place.
Speaker 1 And it made me realize this was my first thought because I'm able to control.
Speaker 1
If I feed my mind that stuff too much, I will go back to that. And I, and I, and I do sometimes.
However, I have enough awareness to be like, I don't want to live that life.
Speaker 1 So I can balance it and I'm careful. I immediately thought.
Speaker 1 about a man or a woman who goes on social media and sees a girl or a guy in an outfit or doing something or in a pose that is like provokes something in them and how easily imagine a man who hasn't masturbated, hasn't watched porn, hasn't like seen anything, immediately goes like the temptation that you face and how easy it is to go to a place in your mind that you don't want to go to.
Speaker 1 This is why we're talking about this today because guarding your eyes is absolutely everything,
Speaker 1 you know i know it's
Speaker 1 i know i i think about how much i had to change my life not because i had to it just naturally like i i couldn't watch certain things anymore like i love that you said that because it's true it's just
Speaker 1 your appetite really does change
Speaker 1 um
Speaker 1 yeah i think for me you know i don't know you think because i'm single I wouldn't struggle with this. Yeah.
Speaker 1 But
Speaker 1
I do struggle with lust sometimes. I do.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 And so,
Speaker 1 yeah, I just really have to,
Speaker 1
I, I really watch what I watch on TV. I really watch what I listen to.
Yeah. Um, I really try to guard my eyes.
I mean, I remember a couple times a friend had put on the show and
Speaker 1
yeah, I just, it's, I can't do it. It does.
It makes you, it makes you feel really lustful. Like certain things will make you feel really lustful.
And
Speaker 1
you just, I don't know. I just, I want to be as holy as possible.
I do. I think it's the most beautiful thing.
And I, I, I want to live a really holy life and I want to honor God behind the scenes.
Speaker 1 And
Speaker 1 I know how fruitful it is and how good I feel when I um
Speaker 1 when I don't live like the world does. Love that you say
Speaker 1 like honor him behind the scenes.
Speaker 1
What we do in secret is just the most important thing. What we do in private, how we protect ourselves in private when nobody's watching.
It's not about what anybody else thinks.
Speaker 1 It's not about other people thinking you're holy. I think a lot of Christianity can be performative at times where you want other people to think that you are holy or pure or blah blah blah.
Speaker 1 But you, we should all get to a point where what we do in private is so much more important than what we do
Speaker 1 in public. Like, I want to be someone who genuinely does the right thing when nobody's watching,
Speaker 1
you know. Me too.
You are.
Speaker 1
You are too. No, you.
No, you.
Speaker 1 No, seriously.
Speaker 1 Yeah, I think I've,
Speaker 1
yeah, I, it's, it's, again, like it's, it's real, it's, it's so hot living in the world. Yeah.
Talk about it. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah. I mean, everything that we see is crazy.
Every movie, I mean, I can't even freaking watch TV anymore. You can't watch anything because the messaging is so dark.
Speaker 1
And like, guys, I can't watch a freaking kissing scene. I can't do it.
Like, I literally can't. I can't do it.
I can't see people kiss on Instagram. I can't see people kiss anywhere.
Speaker 1 I don't want to see it.
Speaker 1 matthew 6 verse 6 says then your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you and i will tell you when i resist those temptations of living like the world and really guarding my eyes and all of those things i feel so rewarded yeah like it feels good you know like when when god says i'll turn beauty from ashes it's true like people think we're crazy like
Speaker 1 All right, guys, we always say that sometimes taking care of yourself looks like prayer, journaling, going to church, hanging with friends.
Speaker 1 And sometimes it looks like giving yourself a really good manicure and remembering that you are worthy of feeling put together and beautiful just because. And we love doing our nails at home.
Speaker 1
It's like a little ritual for us now. And Olive and Tune has genuinely changed our nails at home game.
Their Mani system has everything you need for a salon quality manicure in one box. That's crazy.
Speaker 1 With salon grade tools designed just for DIY, you can can even customize it with your choice of six polishes and the polish doesn't chip and it lasts for seven days or more.
Speaker 1
And the best part, it breaks down to literally $2 a manicure, which is wild considering our salon visits. I don't even want to talk about how much they cost compared to Olive in June.
And it's easy.
Speaker 1
It's kind of relaxing. It really is.
And I don't miss booking appointments and driving across town or sitting in a salon chair for hours.
Speaker 1
My routine is usually a cozy night in, skincare, worship, music, fresh nails. It's my little reset.
If you're a press-on girl, their press-ons are so good.
Speaker 1 They look real, they last, and they have so many sizes. They're non-damaging, and you can literally pop them off with warm water when you're ready to switch it up.
Speaker 1
I find her nails everywhere in my house. She does.
I'm so sorry. You literally pop them off everywhere on my house.
Okay, you take your lashes off. I'm going to everywhere.
Stopping some spiders.
Speaker 1
Guys, a manny under 10 minutes. Yes, please.
So visit olive and june.com/slash ggb for 20% off your first gel system.
Speaker 1 That's O-L-I-V-E-A-N-D-J-U-N-E.com slash g g b for 20 off your first gel system like us crazy christians like we can't do this you can't no like no he really does make beauty from ashes what you saw and lived for when you lived of the world it you know it's it seems like for me i remember being like how am i gonna let all this stuff go like i've been living this way my whole life and now i look back and i'm like how could i how did i ever live like that before how did i ever watch that and listen to that stuff?
Speaker 1 How did I,
Speaker 1 how did I live like that? How did I go to these places? How did I talk like that? Like things like, that's another thing you need to guard. Like the way you talk, the way you speak, like we have to,
Speaker 1 yeah, and just, it's just the closer you get to Jesus, the more that stuff just becomes gross to you.
Speaker 1 And there's been times where I've fallen back and I've watched certain things and I, you know, get a little crazy with the music. But
Speaker 1 yeah, I think as a,
Speaker 1 I think I, I don't know, but
Speaker 1
it's hard as a human being not to feel lustful at times and not to have thoughts. And so I have to guard my mind extra, you know? A hundred percent.
I mean, dog, look at David and Bathsheba. Like,
Speaker 1 no, seriously, I'm being serious.
Speaker 1 David, sweet David, saw Bathsheba bathing and homeboy gave up every, like he threw it all out the window because of what his eyes saw I don't want to see nothing that puts me in a position like that and seriously I know we're kidding but like and it's not even just about lust it's about anything it's about anything comparison you're on social media and you're looking at things and you're looking at their life their relationship their job their house and and it and then jealousy comes up and covetedness
Speaker 1 and covetedness yes thank you are
Speaker 1 no seriously And all this stuff comes up, and you start comparing yourself, and you're tempted to compare, and you're tempted to covet, and you're tempted to do all these things because of what you're seeing.
Speaker 1 And like, you can't live in fear, you can't live, but to be aware that, like, at any moment, the things that I'm seeing and the things that I'm watching are going to make me feel something that might not necessarily be the best thing.
Speaker 1 And it might not even be something sinful. You see somebody else on Instagram gain a massive accomplishment accomplishment or do a big thing or get the thing that you've always wanted.
Speaker 1
And you got to watch your heart because you can so quickly be tempted to be jealous or be competitive or be compares, compare. Yeah, it just like, you just be aware.
You just be so, so aware.
Speaker 1 And even what I said about the eating disorder, like imagine how quickly I was feeling so good, so solid. And just seeing one thing
Speaker 1 threw me off off track really quickly and i was like that was crazy you know i see
Speaker 1 like i said can't see anybody kissing like i literally can't see oh this is
Speaker 1 and this is another thing too i think this is what obviously like modesty has been a journey and we've
Speaker 1 yeah like when we started girls gone bible there was uh pic like ways in which we posted and dressed and all the things that were not honoring to God.
Speaker 1 And it's been the biggest blessing of our lives to walk this journey of like truly honoring God with everything we are, everything we wear, everything we post.
Speaker 1 And I think I always do like a double, triple check when I'm posting on Instagram
Speaker 1 because I think I hit a point at one point.
Speaker 1 I remember when I first started walking with Jesus and I heard like, you don't want to make a brother stumble, right? We all are like, but it's their responsibility.
Speaker 1 It's their, like they should be able to control themselves, which yes, that's not absolving them of the responsibility of controlling themselves and not lusting over a woman.
Speaker 1 However, God makes it so clear to
Speaker 1 not make a brother stumble. I think about like when I post on Instagram.
Speaker 1 Like the idea of like genuinely making a brother stumble is so sad.
Speaker 1 And I know that might sound weird, but like making a guy feel something that dishonors God and being being a part of that is so sad to me. And so, like, I even think about women.
Speaker 1 I never want a woman to be afraid of her husband, like, going to my Instagram page,
Speaker 1 you know?
Speaker 1 Um, because I know that like men are so susceptible to, like, they can't, they should not see things that they shouldn't be seeing. Does that make sense?
Speaker 1 So it's just, it's so imperative that we're so careful with what we watch, what we,
Speaker 1 these air gates eye gates yeah like i said we want to do we want to honor god behind the scene

Speaker 1 What's up with these movies? What's up with these shows?
Speaker 1 I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I feel like I'm I'm in an alternate universe. And I don't know if it's because like
Speaker 1
we just we think differently now. But when I'm watching things, I'm like, huh? It's because you're full of the Holy Spirit.
What's going on?
Speaker 1
Because you're going to be sick to anything that grieves the Spirit. And that's a really good thing.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 So it's a beautiful thing.
Speaker 1 So guys, if anybody is making you feel stupid, because I know how that's a whole other thing, by the way, when you come from the world and you have a bunch of worldly friends and then you start following Jesus and they're kind of making fun of you and saying oh gosh you're so dramatic you're you're such a Christian yeah I think I probably did that to you a couple times
Speaker 1 but
Speaker 1 you know he called us not to not to be like the worlds
Speaker 1 preach
Speaker 1
he called us not to be like the worlds it's just living a life empowered by the Spirit. You don't have to be like nervous.
You don't have to be scared.
Speaker 1 Truly, you have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind.
Speaker 1 The Spirit empowers you, fills you with love, and then gives you a sound mind to where you don't have to be afraid because the Holy Spirit inside you leads you to the places you should go and away from the things that you shouldn't be engaging in.
Speaker 1 And like,
Speaker 1 I just think,
Speaker 1 like you said, holiness, purity.
Speaker 1 For the love of God, if you are a GGB gang member, you guys, being pure is the coolest thing in the world. It truly is.
Speaker 1 Like, you should have a value for purity that is so, so high and more important than anything in your life. Purity in what you see, what you put your hands to, and in your heart.
Speaker 3
Every story begins somewhere. For your child, it could begin with a Guardian bike.

Speaker 1 Heart, the motives of your heart. Like, to be, to pursue a life of purity and a life of holiness is not only the call of God on our lives, but it's the best and it's beautiful.
Speaker 1 And to feel clean, to feel,
Speaker 1 to feel
Speaker 1 like you are glorifying God, to feel like you are turning away from things, even if they're not a big deal.
Speaker 1
It's just, it feels so good every time I make a decision to be like, that's probably not best for me. I actually don't need to see that.
I don't want to.
Speaker 1
I've been on social media for too long. I think I'm going to get off.
It's just so empowering. Julie, do you know what it does? Yeah.
Speaker 1 When God says the pure in heart will see God, exactly. When you are living and in just holiness, whenever I'm really guarding my eyes and I'm living in that, living purely,
Speaker 1 the way I can hear God, the way I can see God, the way I can, it's insane. Like, the way I can,
Speaker 1
there's a closeness you have to him when you're walking in true holiness. It is so true.
Yeah. It is so true.
You are absolutely right.
Speaker 1 Something Kulianos always says, he's like, purify the eyes of our soul so that Jesus would be our greatest vision.
Speaker 1
Like we see with our eyes and then we see with our spiritual eyes. Our physical eyes need to be pure and our spiritual eyes need to be pure and they're connected.
They're so connected.
Speaker 1
I want to see Jesus above everything else. And I know that impurity dilutes my vision of him.
Yeah. I can't see him.
I'm like, where are you?
Speaker 1 If we're sitting here taking on,
Speaker 1 numbing out on social media, digesting all this stuff, like these, this nasty stuff on television, music, all these
Speaker 1 music, like degrading,
Speaker 1
all this stuff. How can we be pure in heart and really see God and hear God? You can't.
I remind myself of that when I'm numbing out, looking at just weird stuff on like
Speaker 1 big women the Lord I'm like no but no but that's being honest I think you can't say that
Speaker 1 no but I'm serious they're not real people are
Speaker 1 no but one thing no listen
Speaker 1 hold me to this okay I want to study scripture we should be studying scripture more than we're scrolling on the phone it's okay sometimes to just like yeah want to scroll.
Speaker 1 Let's try to study scripture and be in the Bible more than we're on our phones.
Speaker 1
What's the scripture you got? I just wanted to read this little part from Job. All right.
You love Job. I know I love Job.
I felt
Speaker 1 you love Job. I'm at the end of Job.
Speaker 1
Ari goes through Aaron. Well, I do it too.
I'm sitting here talking about Saul and David for the past three months.
Speaker 1
I love this moment in Job 31. I love the idea of setting boundaries.
Setting boundaries are beautiful.
Speaker 1 Boundaries for purity, boundaries for what you see, boundaries for the way you engage in social media. So important.
Speaker 1 And what I think is so important for everybody is to decide what type of life you want to live and what type of things you want to engage in, what type of videos, movies,
Speaker 1 things you want to see. Like, truly, like, setting a boundary means making a decision that this isn't good for me and I don't need this.
Speaker 1 Job chapter 31, verse 1: I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman. And I love this so much because Job sets a boundary to be proactive in resisting temptation.
Speaker 1
So he sets the boundary before the young woman ever comes. He doesn't wait until it happens that he's faced with the temptation.
He decides beforehand, like, I don't, I know who I want to be.
Speaker 1 I know what type of
Speaker 1 things I want to engage in. And this is a boundary that I'm setting.
Speaker 1 And I wrote down that it was about purity and self-discipline.
Speaker 1 Those are my two favorite words, purity and self-discipline. Like understanding that sin begins so often with what we look at.
Speaker 1 Like so much of what happens to us, the sin that we engage in, like the darkness that
Speaker 1
we involve ourselves in begins with what we see. And then we get an idea.
And then it's enticing. Like it's just, yeah, it sounds vague, but I feel like it applies to literally every little area.
Speaker 1
I have had moments of seeing a girl who's so thin on social media and then decide that I'm going to go on a fast. That's girl, God, Jesus did not tell you to go on that fast.
Liar.
Speaker 1 You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 Wait, what? Oh, I'm so
Speaker 1 I didn't get that joke.
Speaker 1 That's okay. Nobody probably did.
Speaker 1 Because the eating?
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1
The devil told you to fast so you wouldn't eat. Yeah, yeah.
Okay, like, or I got the idea. I saw a girl that was thin and then I'm like, oh, I should fast.
That I, but it came from what I saw.
Speaker 1 You know what I mean? Yeah.
Speaker 1 And then I love, this reflects what Jesus later teaches in Matthew 5, 28. Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Speaker 1 Anybody who looks at a woman lustfully
Speaker 1 has already committed adultery in his heart. So Job, way before Jesus ever teaches this, says, I will not look lustfully at a young woman.
Speaker 1 And way later, Jesus comes along and says, Hey, if you look at a woman lustfully, you've already committed adultery, which I think is just so crazy. And Job valued purity.
Speaker 1
He makes this covenant with God, which is a sacred promise, because he values purity. And he's like, This is what matters.
It matters to God, so it matters to me.
Speaker 1 That's the type of life that you're meant to live as a Christian. If it matters to God, it has to matter to me.
Speaker 1
That's how I truly base my hope. That's why scripture is the most important thing to me in the world.
It is the infallible word of God. It is the most authoritative thing that we have in faith.
Speaker 1 Even Jesus submits to the word. So technically the word is above Jesus.
Speaker 1
Isn't that crazy? So God honors his word. So I'm going to honor his word.
God honors holiness. I'm going to.
I'm going to value it as well.
Speaker 1 I'm going to honor and value purity as well because that's what he cares about.
Speaker 1 And so I think that that is like what a true life of being empowered by the spirit is is that you choose to love the things that god loves
Speaker 1 you know i want to get something real quick yeah
Speaker 1
and i love this too because job's decision wasn't about public perception. It wasn't about other people.
Nobody else saw the covenant that he made with God.
Speaker 1 It wasn't that he was trying to look good to people or be righteous or any of those things. It was between him and God because he knows that God sees everything.
Speaker 1 And nothing has put the fear of God in me more than knowing that he sees everything. He sees everything.
Speaker 1 Can you get away with things? Yes.
Speaker 1
But no, you actually can't. Because the only person that actually matters that you're truly responsible and accountable to is God.
And there's nothing that you can do that he... won't see.
Speaker 1
And that's not in a fearful way. It's in a reverent way of like, I'm going to live my life.
That is the fear of God.
Speaker 1 Yes, because I love you and you're watching and you care. Every move I make matters to you.
Speaker 1 Not because you're gonna punish me and you're angry with me, but because you have, you think so highly of me. Like, God thinks highly of us.
Speaker 1 He does,
Speaker 1
he thinks we're amazing. He thinks we are capable.
He thinks by his spirit, there's nothing we can do. So it breaks his heart to see us fall short, you know?
Speaker 1 And then we read this scripture earlier that
Speaker 1
it's Matthew 6, 22 to 23. The eye is the lamp of the body.
If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. Oh, that's crazy.
Again, the eye is the lamp of the body.
Speaker 1
If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness.
Doesn't it feel like that now that you're on the other side?
Speaker 1
Yeah. That when you consume with all that stuff, it just feels, you don't feel good.
You don't feel good.
Speaker 1 If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness?
Speaker 1
And just to break it down, the eye is the lamp of the body. So what you focus on and look at determines what fills your heart and mind.
Your eyes are like windows.
Speaker 1
Either they let in light or darkness. And for some people, that might be just like, ugh, that is so annoying.
Right. It's so true.
That's right.
Speaker 1 Like everything that you are is determined by what you take in with your eyes.
Speaker 1 And then if your eyes are healthy, which means that if you're focused on things that are pure, godly, and true, your whole being will be filled with light. Yeah.
Speaker 1 If you focus on the things of God, you will be
Speaker 1 a keeper of light. Your entire being will be a keeper of light so that others may find it.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1 And then if your eyes are unhealthy, So if you fix your gaze on sin, greed, lust, or envy, that darkness will fill your inner light. Pride, negativity, jealousy, lustfulness.
Speaker 1 If you're someone who's chronically negative, can we talk about that? Depression.
Speaker 1
Yes, guys. And obviously, clinical mental health struggles are a different situation, and we're not talking about that.
But just like an overall
Speaker 1 pessimistic, cynical, negative outlook on life where you're just looking for something to be wrong all the time.
Speaker 1 Of course, your life is going to be filled with darkness.
Speaker 1 I think
Speaker 1 I value joy so much.
Speaker 1 I value positivity so much. Jesus did not die on the cross for me to be miserable, for me to be negative, for me to look for there to be something wrong.
Speaker 1 You know, I like you really will know them by their fruit. And
Speaker 1
like being negative is just not a fruit of the spirit. And so if you're walking around and you're chronically negative and you're just living with that, something's not right.
Of course.
Speaker 1
Something's not right. You've got to make a change.
You've got to bring it to Jesus. You've got to go to therapy.
You've got to figure it out.
Speaker 1
The more negative you are, the more like you will always be in the pit. Yeah.
Let me read something. Yeah.
1 John 2, verse 6. Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
Speaker 1 If Jesus came down in human form and lived a perfect life, sinless in holiness,
Speaker 1 that is our goal to be like Jesus. And so
Speaker 1
we are to live like Jesus. We are to live like Jesus.
Yes. And so,
Speaker 1
yeah, it's not a suggestion. It's something we have to strive to do every single day.
And I know that sometimes the pruning process isn't easy. You fall and you get back up, but
Speaker 1 Jesus really is so patient and he's got so much grace and
Speaker 1 he sees you and he deals with you in processes and he loves you so much. And
Speaker 1 again, like we say this, we're so far from perfect, but it's just been the greatest, it's been the greatest honor of our life to live in purity and holiness. Yes.
Speaker 1
To just get rid of all that junk. Get rid of it.
The world looks so appetizing, but boy, we lived of it, lived of it. And
Speaker 1
we don't want you guys to make the same mistakes that we did. So get out of it.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Cut it out. And just protect your eyes, protect what you're watching.
Speaker 1 If you are like us and you came from the world and you struggle maybe with like wanting to go back to your old lifestyle or like you see people having fun and you're like, oh, I want to drink again.
Speaker 1
I want to smoke again. I want to do these things.
And like you're seeing people on social media.
Speaker 1
Maybe you need to mute those people for a little while. If it's tempting you, if it's pulling you back into a place that you don't want to go.
For me, even I know for me, like I
Speaker 1
don't want to see girls dressing provocatively because it could make me feel like, oh, I would love like if I could wear something like that. Yeah.
No, it's true. Yeah.
Speaker 1 You start going back there a little and you're like, oh, maybe I can do that.
Speaker 1 Yeah, I mean, and of course it you you'll start to justify you'll start to say oh was it it look at these people are doing it it's not even that bad even tv shows you'll watch you'll be like oh wait that's that's it's fine right yeah
Speaker 1 So, and again, not to live in fear, but to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. So you can start praying for yourself, Lord, help me protect my eyes.
Speaker 1 Help me know what, convict me, and help me know what I should watch, what I shouldn't watch at all times of the day. Let my eyes truly be a lamp
Speaker 1 into my soul and let my
Speaker 1 whole being be flooded with light because of what I watch. Lord, like keep me away from anything that brings darkness into my life.
Speaker 1 And that's even more of a reason to really make sure that you, you, you have mornings because it is so hard with lust, with the world, with social media, like to sit in that time in the morning and
Speaker 1 pray for that protection over my mind, protection over my eyes.
Speaker 1 It really is crucial. Yeah.
Speaker 1
So good. My favorite scripture.
The peace that surpasses all understanding
Speaker 1 will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I love thinking about,
Speaker 1 and this isn't even for like temptation, but like if I'm struggling with my thoughts, if I'm struggling with
Speaker 1 anxiety or OCD, ruminating thoughts, I pray, Lord, I receive the peace of God that surpasses understanding because right now it's guarding my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. It's beautiful.
Speaker 1 Guard my heart and mind. Like it is God's job and the delight of his
Speaker 1 life
Speaker 1
to guard our hearts and minds. You know, we're not in this alone.
We're not meant to put a barricade on our eyes. We're not meant to put a barricade on our eyes.
Speaker 1
And God's like, fend for yourself and you better figure it out. He is actively guarding our hearts and minds.
We're in partnership with us. You know, we also have choices we can make.
Speaker 1 But to ask him every day, lord purify the eyes of my soul that i would see jesus rightly purify my physical eyes so that i can see jesus rightly and just keep me pure purify me search my heart
Speaker 1 search my heart oh lord
Speaker 1 i love you
Speaker 1 too we love you so much you guys we're your aunties in christ
Speaker 1 We love being your aunties in Christ. We love being your aunties.
Speaker 1
We love you guys so much. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May he make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May he turn his face towards you and give you peace.
We love you.
Speaker 1 Shalom, shalom.
