Speaker 1 Here's the issue, Mark.
Speaker 2 You and I are aging, and
Speaker 4 it's hard to stop that.
Speaker 5 Nope. It's problematic.
Speaker 1 So we can't do the things like we used to do, which is like, you know, stay up late at the bar, then go get a burrito, and then wake up four hours later, and everything's fine.
Speaker 11 We need something.
Speaker 12 How about this, Mark?
Speaker 13 How about what I've been using?

Speaker 8 Oh, sesi baby, week 10 of the NFL season.
Speaker 34 Can you believe it?
Speaker 35 Double digits.
Speaker 5 Well, you could say nothing has mattered up until now, but now it matters very, very much.
Speaker 23 Absolutely. What do we got?
Speaker 35 We got the Brady Bowl.
Speaker 2 That is Bucks Patriots.
Speaker 8 We got JJ McCarthy giving himself a nickname.
Speaker 6 And we have a rock fight on Thursday night in Denver that we're going to get to first.
Speaker 16 It all begins right now.
Speaker 40 Heed the Call.
Speaker 41 Hey, welcome to Heed the Call NFL Podcast, the
Speaker 42 week 10
Speaker 23 preview/slash Thursday night recap.
Speaker 43 I am Dan Hansis, joined as always by Mark Sessler.
Speaker 2 With Connor Orr, Justin Graver on the ones and twos.
Speaker 31 Whoa, Thursday night football, boys.
Speaker 12 That was one of those games
Speaker 31 where
Speaker 23 it's one of those games where you're just like, what just happened?
Speaker 21 What did I just experience?
Speaker 2 The 10-7 victory for the Broncos over the Raiders. Daniel Carlson pushes a field goal wide right
Speaker 36 late in the fourth quarter, and then Broncos are able to run out the clock in a game that both teams probably would like to forget, but at least one gets to take home a victory, Sese.
Speaker 5 Well, yeah, there was also
Speaker 5 the Broncos blocked a
Speaker 5 third-quarter punt that I think changed the game a lot and led to at least a little bit of points to be trickled through.
Speaker 5 It felt like watching two, if you ever been to an old dive bar, like it's two beefy women smashing each other with their fists, and it's entertaining until it's not.
Speaker 45 You know, Mark.
Speaker 46 an old dive bar with two beefy women smashing like what
Speaker 5 what world mark where do you exist how do we get into these that's how the game felt to me it was a very odd nfl game but you presented it as if like you know the classic scenario of being in a dive bar where two
Speaker 3 heavy set women are like beating each other like a fight club scenario like what That's the first, that's what came to your head.
Speaker 22 That's amazing, buddy.
Speaker 5 It's exactly what came into my mind.
Speaker 52 I know it did.
Speaker 52 And the fact that they're women, Connor, isn't that?
Speaker 53 There's a lot cooking there.
Speaker 34 There's just a lot done.
Speaker 9 That was far more fascinating than what we watched at Mile High in this game.
Speaker 25 Give credit to Denver, you know, for having the best record in the league at 8-2.
Speaker 55 Give credit to their defensive front, which continues to get after the quarterback, sacking Geno Smith six times, making up for
Speaker 55 just like a horrendous performance by both the offense and the special teams, the Punter, the Broncos.
Speaker 56 Take a walk, buddy.
Speaker 55 Just, you know, your thoughts on this one, Connor.
Speaker 57 I think it...
Speaker 57 Having seen this now in previous seasons, it was the Vikings a couple of years ago. It was the Chiefs the year before that.
Speaker 57
You can just continue a stretch of winning ridiculous one-score games. I mean, it was the Giants.
It was the Texans. It was a three-point game.
The Jets was a two-point game.
Speaker 57 The Eagles were a four-point game. I mean, this can just keep going if you're Denver.
Speaker 57 And, you know, I think in another era, I would have been like, well, this is going to stop at some point this season. It probably won't.
Speaker 57 They just figured out how to kind of play small ball enough where they can beat bad teams by three points and does it really matter at the end of the day.
Speaker 58 I don't know.
Speaker 60 So here's what I'm thinking as a.
Speaker 8 We really got to know.
Speaker 5 I don't know about that concern.
Speaker 61 Best team in football, Mark. Best team in football, eight and two.
Speaker 4 Oh, no, but in all seriousness, what I'm thinking as I'm getting set up
Speaker 40 to record here is like
Speaker 35 this is also the type of team that eight and two is great, and 12 and five or 13 and four
Speaker 21 is even better because that could be enough to win this division.
Speaker 1 The Chiefs have taken on a bunch of losses this year.
Speaker 30 The Chargers deal with all sorts of trouble.
Speaker 64 But if the Denver Broncos think this kind of inconsistency is going to play in January on a bigger stage,
Speaker 3 They just need, for an 8-2 team, they have a lot to work on.
Speaker 64 And the consistency of the offense specifically is
Speaker 64 an issue and it's a concern.
Speaker 66 And I don't know what needs to be done.
Speaker 30 That's for Sean Payton to figure out.
Speaker 3 Bo Nix at least has the awareness after the game when he's doing the interview with Kaylee Hartong.
Speaker 54 He's like, you know, we owe the defense one after today.
Speaker 27 Like
Speaker 7 some of it just, just really disjointed, a lot of third and forever, a lot of ugly looking plays, a lot of miscommunications, things that you just don't expect from a Sean Payton offense.
Speaker 44 So I don't know.
Speaker 34 Denver's a weird little team.
Speaker 11 Everything has kind of gone their way.
Speaker 14 They've made their own breaks.
Speaker 18 That pass rush has made up for a lot of shortcomings.
Speaker 69 They're on a historic pace, as we know.
Speaker 1 But this game is not going to...
Speaker 40 A, rocket them up by our power rankings, I imagine, and B, convince anybody that is a bit of a doubter that they actually are a wolf in the AFC.
Speaker 5 I think that's your point is like that
Speaker 5 great. You might have a record that's inflated over what you really are, but like you're going to hit a wall at some point where you need to put up 35 points in a game.
Speaker 5 And like, do I trust this offense to do it?
Speaker 5
I like RJ Harvey. I like J.K.
Dobbins. Apparently no one needs to have a first name on this team, but like
Speaker 5 it's like...
Speaker 5 The thing is, it's just they're a tough watch.
Speaker 5 And like while we've said that, it's actually true in the sense that like do you believe that they their defense i believe but do you believe that their offense can co have an expansive day they didn't have a first down until their fifth possession right and then kind of this is the same team that put 33 up in a quarter against the giants they're an absolute mystery
Speaker 57 So I was thinking about this during the game, and if you had to pick one of these teams that seems to have a dominant defense week in and week out, or almost week in and week out, and then which offense would you deal with between the Texans, a team like the Vikings, or a team like the Broncos?
Speaker 57
I mean, I'm taking Denver 10 times out of 10. At its peak, you referenced the Giants game.
At its peak, this thing is excellent. Bo Nicks just has to even out.
Speaker 57 And this was a bad Bo Knicks game from start to finish. And, you know,
Speaker 57 I don't know what has to happen there, but I still have more faith in them than I think any of those other teams that are in that class or that category.
Speaker 71 Knicks finished 16 of 28, 150 yards, 5.4 yards per attempt, one touchdown, two interceptions, 54.2 rating.
Speaker 3 Yeah, the special teams for both sides.
Speaker 74 Now, I want to mention a couple of things.
Speaker 1 First of all, Patrick Sartain didn't play.
Speaker 43 He missed the second straight game with that strained peck.
Speaker 40 So holding any team to seven points is worthy of...
Speaker 45 not celebration, but you know, kudos.
Speaker 40 Also, after Brock Bowers looked like he was about to just run roughshod over the rest of the NFL the rest of the way after his three touchdown performance four days ago, he has one catch on three targets for 31 yards.
Speaker 55 So
Speaker 47 maybe that's what this is.
Speaker 65 Maybe this is a team that has a defense that is so good and can be dominant, especially against lower competition, that the offense just has a lot of wiggle room to figure things out over the course of three and a half hours.
Speaker 9 But again, and I don't want to belabor it, this won't work in January.
Speaker 8 When teams like the Bills and like the Chiefs in full flight, I know Broncos fans don't want to hear it because they say, look at our record and look at theirs.
Speaker 44 This style of play, those comebacks against
Speaker 36 the Giants and squeaking games out like this works in November and October.
Speaker 34 Don't work in January.
Speaker 60 That's it.
Speaker 77 Any other thoughts, boys?
Speaker 57 I think that, and I agree with you on every common sense level but I still think some of the baseline metrics like they're one of the 10 best rushing teams in the NFL and if they can just keep that and then keep that defense I think that there's no reason to believe that they can't make it to the AFC championship game as inconsistent and as imperfect as they are I mean we've seen other teams do this in previous years where it doesn't make sense and then the year after that they suck but within that one year sample size they just keep performing in these one score situations That's fair.
Speaker 59 It's a weird team.
Speaker 5 No, I tend to agree because
Speaker 5 it's an unflashy AFC
Speaker 5 this season. It seems like the kind of team that would
Speaker 5 kind of symbolize what this year has been about in the AFC to get there and to do that.
Speaker 5
They are not visually, I've said it over and over, just I don't enjoy watching them, but that's not their issue. That's my issue.
And like,
Speaker 5 they keep winning these games, but like, I do find them to be susceptible to Dan's point that someone's going to come out and drop a hammer on them at some point, and they're going to be asked to level up on offense.
Speaker 5 So,
Speaker 5 when that happens, can you suddenly do it out of a vacuum? I don't know.
Speaker 65 Okay.
Speaker 66 So, there you go. Let's close the book on that game.
Speaker 71 Pete Carl's two and seven.
Speaker 45 Geno Smith can't even walk after the game.
Speaker 5 Did that feel like one of the longest football games that, as a collective, we've ever watched? It just felt like it went on for two and a half years.
Speaker 75 I had major dad duty that had me on
Speaker 51 delay where I didn't actually catch up until about midway through the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 So I guess benefited through blowing through the stoppages and halftime and all that.
Speaker 8 But I imagine, yes, if you were in it in real time, perhaps it would
Speaker 5 be feeling quite well with a circus with very few enticing acts.
Speaker 42 Okay. Let's see.
Speaker 68 Let's see.
Speaker 15 Four teams on by.
Speaker 4 Bengals, Cowboys, Titans, Chiefs.
Speaker 10 And we're going to get to all the teams that are playing, including the return of the International Series.
Speaker 36 There's a 9.30 a.m.
Speaker 15 Eastern, 6.30 here.
Speaker 81 Kickoff in Berlin.
Speaker 63 We'll get to that.
Speaker 55 One quick thing, just want to note here, and it's, you know, there's no easy place to put this and talk about this on the show, and the Cowboys are in by as well, but defensive end Marshawn Nealand
Speaker 49 dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound early Thursday morning.
Speaker 56 Just a crazy,
Speaker 27 very sad story.
Speaker 1 This is the same player, and it's so weird, like,
Speaker 20 you know,
Speaker 3 not to get melodramatic, but this is worthy of
Speaker 40 being real.
Speaker 25 Like, you never know what's going on in somebody's head.
Speaker 75 This guy recovers a block punt on Monday night for a touchdown.
Speaker 36 He's playing in the National Football League.
Speaker 14 He's a former second-round pick. He's a millionaire.
Speaker 81 You know, he's got everything you would ever think you would want to have in your life. And yet there was, you know, something, unfortunately, that he couldn't figure out and he couldn't get past.
Speaker 43 So just very sad. Marshawn Nealon has passed away.
Speaker 50 And I guess all I would say to this before we take a break is if you're a listener listener who
Speaker 28 is going through things and whether it's, you know, mental health or, you know, thoughts, depression or thoughts of, you know, harming yourself, talk to somebody, reach out.
Speaker 45 There are a lot of different places to do that.
Speaker 1 And
Speaker 50 you're not alone. There's a lot of people out there.
Speaker 49 So very sad. Rest in peace, Marshawn Nealon.
Speaker 54 Let's take a break.
Speaker 39 And when we get back, we're going to dig into week 10.
Speaker 5 All right, you know that feeling when you open your phone bill, yes, and think, how is this even possible?
Speaker 22 I've been there.
Speaker 5
That's why I finally switched to Mint Mobile. And now I'm wondering why I didn't do it a lot sooner.
If you're still overpaying for wireless, it's time to say yes to saying no, Dan.
Speaker 13 Absolutely, Market.
Speaker 31 Mint Mobile, their favorite word is no.
Speaker 16 No contracts, no monthly bills, no overages, no hidden fees, no BS.
Speaker 1 I said yes to premium wireless for just $15 a month and it's been awesome.
Speaker 23 Mint Mobile gives you high-speed data and unlimited talk talk and text on the nation's largest 5G network.
Speaker 32 You could bring your own phone, keep your number and move over your contacts.
Speaker 12 It's quick, it's easy, it's painless.
Speaker 5
It's, here's the thing. Like I got my Mint Mobile wireless service in comparison to the old provider I had and it was so much better.
The savings are better. It's just like,
Speaker 5 what was I doing for the past number of years? And honestly, the service has been every bit as strong as my old provider, just without the bloated price tag.
Speaker 5 I'm saving real money every month and I don't don't feel like I'm missing a thing.
Speaker 31 I've picked that up.
Speaker 43 I feel like you've been a better person, Mark, since your mobile plan changed. So it translates.
Speaker 22 Ready to say yes to saying no?
Speaker 49 Make the switch at mintmobile.com slash heed the call.
Speaker 34 That's mintmobile.com slash heed the call.
Speaker 78
Upfront payment of $45 required, equivalent to $15 a month. Limited time new customer offer for first three months only.
Speeds may slow above 35 gigabytes on unlimited plan. Taxes and fees extra.
Speaker 78 See Mint Mobile for details.
Speaker 34 All right, we are back. Thursday night football in the rear view.
Speaker 23 Now it's time to get to the rest of the slate to come in week 10.
Speaker 17 And let's start.
Speaker 3 Ceci, let's start with the primetime games this week.
Speaker 5 I love the idea.
Speaker 42 Oh, great.
Speaker 67 So, with that said, let's dive in.
Speaker 27 Starting with Sunday night football, the number 13 Pittsburgh Steelers, five and three, traveling to SoFi Stadium.
Speaker 35 It's going to be filled with Steelers fans.
Speaker 43 Forget about it.
Speaker 30 This is going to be a big Jinser travel weekend.
Speaker 37 A lot of Yinser is going to go to Disneyland.
Speaker 25 Maybe they'll go up to Wine Country.
Speaker 54 Maybe they'll, you know,
Speaker 35 they'll go to
Speaker 15 they'll go out to Palm Springs, maybe.
Speaker 43 They'll really enjoy the Southern California climate this time of year and fill up that stadium on Sunday night when the Chargers look to build on their six and three level record.
Speaker 14 So it's number 13 versus number 14 in our power rankings.
Speaker 65 I love it.
Speaker 15 And Ceci, we're getting the Steelers that are very interested.
Speaker 17 I feel like we're getting the Steelers every week in prime time, but as long as they're playing
Speaker 72 entertaining football, that's fine with me.
Speaker 49 So here's another test coming off their biggest win of the year.
Speaker 5 I think it's one of the biggest NFL wins of the year because it was against this Colts team that was going to test them. And the Steelers,
Speaker 5 as they did against New England, generated multiple turnovers, and it answered some questions about their defense that we had been verbally lashing for weeks.
Speaker 5 And now you go up against a Chargers offense,
Speaker 5 no Joe Alt, no rashaun slater they're not who they want to be right now it's a tough situation for them um they have generated 400 plus yards of offense in three of four games so
Speaker 5 in a we we were at a steelers chargers game about a couple years ago and you are right it was a steelers crowd with terrible towels big steelers crowd it's and that happens to them every week so they're that's normalized and they're used to that but if the chargers want to
Speaker 5 like i think the chargers if you want to survive and you want to get to seven and three you've got to find a way to Reflect this like whatever the pass rush will be whatever the defense does and keep the turnovers low You still got your quarterback running really well and Justin Herbert like just go be you the best you can minus your two tackles I wonder if this is the week that we finally see I mean Pittsburgh's offense has been so I guess effectively plotting there has been no explosive element to this and Art Smith I think gets jabbed for this but he is an explosive play hunting offensive coordinator.
Speaker 57 When the Falcons, even with Desmond Ritter, he had one of the higher explosive play rates in the NFL.
Speaker 57 And I'm just wondering, like, is this just going to be the Aaron Rodgers in a cloud of dust offense? And we're going to be able to make it work.
Speaker 57 And on weeks like this, it probably is effective because it's going to neutralize someone like Derwin James.
Speaker 57 But I do wonder, they've changed face defensively with a lot of the formation stuff that they're doing and a lot of the scheme stuff they're doing. Do they flip a little bit of that on offense too?
Speaker 57 Because Mike Tomlin did kind of have some jabs for Art Smith, the play calling, all that stuff at the podium. I think it was after the Packers lost.
Speaker 79 So we'll see what happens.
Speaker 4 Not to oversimplify it, but the trenches.
Speaker 56 It's going to be very important to see how this Chargers
Speaker 14 offensive line, as we've talked about,
Speaker 9 handles this without either tackle.
Speaker 64 Now, Trey Pimpkins, Austin DeKulis,
Speaker 48 Jamari Salier, Trevor Penning, who they just got in a trade.
Speaker 10 Two of those guys are playing tackle, okay, and starting a tackle.
Speaker 46 And you just hope you get league average play.
Speaker 44 That's the goal.
Speaker 22 Now, it went from this is the strength of this team to can we survive?
Speaker 11 Can we not get the quarterback killed?
Speaker 1 And there's a reason why Jim Harbaugh loves his quarterback so much because he knows how much his quarterback bails him out in all manners of ways, between as a passer and his way to
Speaker 1 feel a rush, to absorb contact and still keep keep his eyes downfield, to escape and use his mobility.
Speaker 75 So Herbert is going to be more
Speaker 3 important than ever
Speaker 1 to have all his skills set.
Speaker 80 And shout out to TJ Watt, who's been a little bit of an
Speaker 49 MIA guy at times this year.
Speaker 9 Alex Highsmith as well.
Speaker 1 They combined for three sacks and two force fumbles in that Colts upset.
Speaker 4 So those guys are going to have a big opportunity to build on that.
Speaker 44 And I think that will decide the game.
Speaker 77 Can the Pittsburgh Steelers create havoc, create turnovers?
Speaker 7 If they don't, I think this goes LA's way.
Speaker 5 I tend to agree with you.
Speaker 5 One player to watch for the Chargers, like Aronde Gadsden, the tight end, has been over the last four weeks, the best tight end in the league, basically.
Speaker 5 And as an economy.
Speaker 5 I'm not kidding. I think he has.
Speaker 46 Brock Bowers exists.
Speaker 42 Do we see him?
Speaker 5 Well, okay, but Brock Bowers was hurt for most of those weeks.
Speaker 5 But like he, I'm not saying he's the best, but production-wise, over the last month, he has broken out and he's been productive on deep receptions too. So that's your explosion for the Chargers.
Speaker 5 I think the Chargers' offense still is pretty explosive.
Speaker 5 They really are to the opposite of what the Steelers are, Connor.
Speaker 42 Yeah,
Speaker 57 I think that Pittsburgh has really laid out the roadmap for all that tight end usage.
Speaker 57
But the Chargers, the way that Gadson's been able to help them diversify, you've seen a major shift in that offense. It was a lot of shot plays.
It was a lot of Quentin Johnson.
Speaker 57 It was a lot of pushing the ball downfield. They're starting to get into November, December mode, too.
Speaker 57 I'm dying to know what they're going to do at this point with the offensive line in emergency mode. Like Dan said, is this another tight end week where it's just, hey, intermediate routes?
Speaker 57
It's Lad McConkey. It's Gadson.
It's just get rid of the ball so that Herbert doesn't take a ton of shots.
Speaker 1 Right.
Speaker 43 And those tight ends being forced into more protection-based roles just to protect this quarterback.
Speaker 88 All right, let's head to Monday night football.
Speaker 74 Great game.
Speaker 60 The number six Eagles, six and two, coming off there by travel to Lambeau.
Speaker 83 Lambeau in primetime.
Speaker 20 It's hard to beat it.
Speaker 53 It's It's on my bucket list.
Speaker 61 I've never been to Lambeau Field.
Speaker 57 I want to get there. Oh, it's great.
Speaker 45 Connor, I'm sure you've covered games there.
Speaker 57 Nothing like watching the,
Speaker 57 I think it was the Giants beat the Packers in the playoffs at Lambeau in the first round or second round of the playoffs and then to go to San Francisco, I think, for the title.
Speaker 1 The Coughlin frozen face game, or is that the second Giants Super Bowl run?
Speaker 57 That was the second Giants Super Bowl run.
Speaker 40 Oh, that was when the Packers were 15 and one, and Aaron Aaron Rodgers was the MVP, and the Giants hit that Hail Mary at the end of the first half, and yes, and they knocked him off.
Speaker 1 Yeah, that was a crazy game.
Speaker 57 I forgot my credential on the way to the locker room for that one. And I was like 22 years old.
Speaker 57 And I remember getting to the locker room, and the security guard being like, of course you can't come in, and just shitting my pants and running like as fast as I could in dress shoes.
Speaker 57 Like you have to go like through the concourse and like it's very, it doesn't have a very sophisticated
Speaker 42 yeah.
Speaker 42 So it was uh, god, that was an adventure.
Speaker 57 I'm getting like uh second wave PTSD from that right now, just thinking about it.
Speaker 5 And the good news for you, Dan, is you're not allowed to check that off your bucket list because we have a show to do, so there's no evening that you'll be in Green Bay watching a football game with a human.
Speaker 90 Well, if you've listened to the show, this is our fifth show in as many days, you'll know that I'm seriously pondering getting into the roller coaster review business,
Speaker 8 which would open up my weekends.
Speaker 43 So just stand by on that.
Speaker 5 I shall.
Speaker 57 I've been digging into that channel, by the way.
Speaker 59 I'm not going to lie.
Speaker 90 Really? Does he seem...
Speaker 72 What's his name again, Justin?
Speaker 5 Connor, you're a little bit of a psychotic individual. That this was what you wound up doing after our show yesterday.
Speaker 34 Justin, throw up some B-roll of our roller coaster friend.
Speaker 19 If you did not see the show, one of the comments we got during our trade deadline live stream was from a YouTube user who went by the name of Theme Park Giant.
Speaker 25 Theme Park Giant.
Speaker 10 And
Speaker 49 then, as a follow-up,
Speaker 14 I mentioned that I might get into that business and maybe become a competitor.
Speaker 1 And then Theme Park Giant said, Hey, I'll take you to a theme park in Orlando.
Speaker 3 We all immediately clocked that as a potential murder attempt to eliminate potential in terms of tugboat.
Speaker 87 But then Connor takes it the next step, and he's now tracking Theme Park Willie's content, and that is very interesting.
Speaker 57 I mean, he goes like he'll go to Epcot, he'll go to Magic Kingdom, and he'll he'll live stream for like six hours. Oh, baby, yeah, so if you're um
Speaker 57 not my thing necessarily, like I like um that you can watch on YouTube, like, uh, like bird feeders, like someone as a bird feeder, and then you just watch the birds come and go.
Speaker 57
It's kind of background noise. Maybe some people just are comforted by Epcot Center or Safari Zone or whatever.
So I think he's providing a valuable service.
Speaker 72 You know what I would think you would like, Connor?
Speaker 30 And we've got to get back on track, but now we're just rolling here.
Speaker 89 My brother got it for my mom as, I guess, a gag gift for
Speaker 85 her birthday last year.
Speaker 34 But have you seen the thing where it's like a, you put it on, it's like a mask with a plexiglass or a clear mask, and then it has two little hummingbird feeders attached to the front.
Speaker 77 And then you could just sit in the chair and the hummingbirds will just feed right in front of your face.
Speaker 55 I feel like that would be a good counter gift for like your domesticated backyard life.
Speaker 57 That sounds a little bit dangerous, but who knows? Who knows what I'll be into next week.
Speaker 5 I would just say that what I explore online is very different.
Speaker 42 That we know about.
Speaker 42 We know.
Speaker 34 I look at girls on the internet.
Speaker 50 Okay,
Speaker 42 let's go. No,
Speaker 42 I'm not suggesting that.
Speaker 5 I'm not suggesting that at all. I'm just saying, like, I don't spend four to five.
Speaker 42 You say you watch six-hour live stream.
Speaker 8 Audio,
Speaker 57 saying it exists. It's just six hours of, it's out there.
Speaker 5 I mean, Connor spent six hours watching a theme park online, but I'm that I've got the issues.
Speaker 34 The number six Eagles, six and two, at the number 12 Packers, five, two, and one.
Speaker 52 Yes, at Lambeau Field, under the lights.
Speaker 91 Buck and Aikman can't beat it.
Speaker 15 YouTube, TV, NFL, figure your shit out so we can watch this game.
Speaker 64 Connor, you don't have to worry about that because you're plugged into the back of a damn wall.
Speaker 57 Can I just say, and again, this is probably taking us right back off track again, but on Monday night this past week, and everyone's like, but I have Slingbox and YouTube and blah, blah, blah.
Speaker 57 And I'm just like, baby, I've had basic cable since 2010, the day that I got this house.
Speaker 5 It was an immense victory for you.
Speaker 88 I mean, I'm not going to even fight it, Mark.
Speaker 28 Like, Connor, there's one scenario in the year 2025 where, like, the boomer cable guy is going to win, and he won on Monday night.
Speaker 42 There's nothing we can do about that.
Speaker 5 It was decisive. It was one night out of the last 17 years where that would be the case, but it was that night.
Speaker 86 The downside is at one point, teenagers came to your front step and light a bag of shit in a paper bag, and you had to stomp it out.
Speaker 42 And you're like, you damn teenagers.
Speaker 5 It's the football channel.
Speaker 42 We talked the ball.
Speaker 28 These guys don't talk Nepal.
Speaker 42 All right.
Speaker 9 The number six Eagles, six and two at number 12 Packers, five, two, and one.
Speaker 43 Let's talk the game. Let's get there because
Speaker 11 it's kind of like at this point, there is a little fraud alert protection packages that are quietly being handed out around the Packers right now, Connor.
Speaker 49 And I love the Eagles coming off the bye, getting healthier, having an extra week to prepare for this game game
Speaker 14 to potentially embarrass Green Bay if they don't find a way to clean up their operation.
Speaker 57 Yeah, and this goes back to a little bit about what were our initial fears of the Green Bay Packers before the Micah Parsons trade.
Speaker 57 And even going back to, I remember ranting about this when I listened to Jeff Hafley's, I think it was his pre-draft press conference or the press conference that he gave at the end of last season.
Speaker 57 It was very clear that they were nervous about how well that they were suited up the middle in the interior defensively, right?
Speaker 57 And then Michael Parsons will help you move some of those pieces around, but it doesn't necessarily help you get stouter. It doesn't necessarily help you get tougher.
Speaker 57 And here come the Eagles, who, when they're in 12 at this point, when they, when they've got their tight ends in there, and I think that running game is really, really, really starting to take off.
Speaker 57 I mean, I don't know what are the Packers going to, what are the Packers going to do? Are they going to get run over? And on the flip side of that, is Jordan Love?
Speaker 57 And again, it's like i know that the the the silly plays that he makes aren't as frequent as people make them out to be but when he makes silly plays they are really damn silly right and so can he put that back in his pocket and kind of zip that up a little bit i don't know i think it's a pretty wild matchup uh like the packers half lease defense is allowing 5.8 yards per pass attempt, which is the best in the league.
Speaker 5 And the Eagles over the last month, over the last four games, have been like ninth in EPA passing. They've been a bit of a, they've been a different offense.
Speaker 5 And my question is like, what we saw from like Saquon Barkley before the break, like, do we get that again? Do we get that again? And like, is there a tangible change for this
Speaker 5 Eagles' offense? And how do you attack, I think, what is a very good defense?
Speaker 5 I think we were, I understand why we're down on the Packers because they've had some strange defeats that kind of like they're hard to explain.
Speaker 9 And even their wins, some of their wins.
Speaker 5 And some of their wins. But I do think that they are a sound defense, and it's going to be a stiff test for an Eagles offense that has been very hot and cold, obviously.
Speaker 43 Two things to watch here.
Speaker 9 Jordan Milata versus Micah Parsons.
Speaker 20 Daddy likes mommy.
Speaker 42 Okay.
Speaker 5 Mommy loves it. Who's the mommy in that equation?
Speaker 42 I see two daddies.
Speaker 42 Well,
Speaker 42 Daddy Chill.
Speaker 14 And Tucker Kraft, obviously done for the year for the Packers.
Speaker 48 Keep an eye on Christian Watson, who's
Speaker 77 come back the last two weeks. He's made some splash plays.
Speaker 15 They're going to need somebody now with Kraft out to take on a bigger role and be a dog in that offense.
Speaker 8 If Watson could stay healthy, I could see him being that player.
Speaker 28 Very, very good, good game.
Speaker 10 All right.
Speaker 66 Let's pivot now to the late window.
Speaker 36 And there are three games in that window.
Speaker 10 One of them is great.
Speaker 85 So let's start there.
Speaker 77 Big NFC West showdown, the number four in our power rankings, Los Angeles Rams, 6-2.
Speaker 35 Travel to
Speaker 6 the big bowel bottom to face the number 11 49ers, 6-3.
Speaker 46 Burkhart, Brady
Speaker 73 on the call.
Speaker 36 Sese.
Speaker 55 I don't want to say it's kind of tough because we're in LA, but it's not like everyone's talking Rams football.
Speaker 13 People don't seem to care that much.
Speaker 10 They love the Dodgers, but maybe it's going to be a Rams town if they continue to win here because I feel like they've quietly been
Speaker 36 maybe the most consistently good to great week-to-week team in the league.
Speaker 40 Here's another test with the Niners who have been finding a way to make it work all season, and now maybe they're getting their running game to a higher plane with Christian McCaffrey.
Speaker 5 Yeah, I think you've got to look at the Rams as sort of quietly
Speaker 5 like a top three to four team. And Matthew Stafford's playing at an MVP level.
Speaker 5
It matters to me whether Puka Nakua is in this game. It sounds like he will be, but he had a chest injury, did not practice on Wednesday.
We'll find out later.
Speaker 5 But you were going against the Niners defense at this point that it was a bit of a no-name defense to start.
Speaker 5 And it's now losing players, and it's lost a bunch of people, and it's... They have no pass rush.
Speaker 5 So I think this is where, you know, the Rams and with Sean McVay have had a tough time with Kyle Shanahan, obviously, but this may be your opportunity to go into San Francisco and take advantage of this.
Speaker 57 I know it's never appropriate to count Kyle Shanahan out in a McVay matchup, but I have blowout watch on this one because
Speaker 57 when I saw this,
Speaker 57
it absolutely blew my mind. I think it was from like the Sumer Sports NFL preview newsletter.
The 49ers are in light boxes, so seven or fewer defenders in the box 92% of the time.
Speaker 57 That's first in the league by a very, very wide margin. And the Rams are really starting to experiment with like big, big, big, big, big offensive sets, like 13 personnel, like two tight ends even.
Speaker 57 And then their wide receivers are big and physical to begin with.
Speaker 57 When that defense is light, when that defense is spread out and you go big like that, like I'm wondering if this is just like a wrecking ball game for this Rams offense. It could be.
Speaker 5 And Kieran Williams had his first 100-yard game last week. Like you could sort of see the makings of that.
Speaker 49 I can't.
Speaker 55 It's hard for me to find an aspect of the Rams Rams that I don't like.
Speaker 49 And the fact that Matthew Stafford is playing at his highest or near the highest levels out of his career at 37 years old is a big part of it.
Speaker 46 I mean, he is, this is crazy.
Speaker 77 So he throws for 281 and 4 against the Saints in basically three quarters.
Speaker 49 He had five touchdowns and no interceptions
Speaker 24 the game before in London.
Speaker 14 He has 16 touchdowns and no interceptions in his past five games.
Speaker 61 And when these teams last met
Speaker 70 in early, it was about a month ago now, he threw for nearly 400 yards and three touchdowns.
Speaker 34 It wasn't even his best game.
Speaker 9 He missed on some throws in that game, too.
Speaker 87 Like, this has been an excellent Stafford year.
Speaker 70 The type of season that at this age is like, if there are questions, is this guy a Hall of Famer or not?
Speaker 22 Banking these seasons in your late 30s, that's how you get to the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 52 So I love that for them, that he's playing at that high level.
Speaker 4 What you said is so right about their San Francisco's pass rush.
Speaker 46 If it can't get home, Stafford is just going to pick you apart right now.
Speaker 89 The way he's playing with the players he has, especially if Nakua's, he did limit.
Speaker 9 He was limited in practice on Wednesday.
Speaker 25 I think they're managing that injury.
Speaker 18 In fact, Nick Vay said that if week nine's win was close, Nakua would have went back in that game.
Speaker 1 So that tells me good chance he plays barring a setback.
Speaker 64 And what they do in the red zone, and especially inside the 10 with Devontae Adams, there is a mind meld there.
Speaker 15 And so they can run the football, and you've got to respect that.
Speaker 4 But all these five-yards, it's very Devontae Adams, Aaron Rodriguezan, like where they know where they're going to be.
Speaker 15 And Adams is so great with his footwork and his hands and his routes that that is a deadly red zone weapon, those two guys together.
Speaker 43 So I like the Rams in this game a lot, too.
Speaker 57 It's almost taking back the fade, right? There was a lot of anti-goal line fade rhetoric, but I think it's Matt Stafford and Devontae Adams and Aaron Rodgers and Darnell Washington.
Speaker 57 And they're really taking the goal line fade back this year, man. It's
Speaker 42 very unpopular play for some.
Speaker 65 Yeah.
Speaker 42 What a coup.
Speaker 57 You have to have that kind of relationship, but I think we're seeing a couple of those quarterbacks show the value in it, which I think is kind of interesting, you know.
Speaker 75 All right.
Speaker 81 And one more note here.
Speaker 14 The Rams signed Harrison Mivis.
Speaker 15 Remember him?
Speaker 91 Remember him from the summer?
Speaker 84 Harrison Mivis. Anybody?
Speaker 44 The thicker kicker.
Speaker 46 Six foot, 242. That's what he's listed.
Speaker 40 He has been lights out for the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL.
Speaker 49 He spent training camp with the Jets, but they ended up going with Nick Folk.
Speaker 14 Instead, he will kick for the Rams in that game.
Speaker 13 Keep an eye on it. Kicker Club will be.
Speaker 42 All right, next up, we'll go to Yes
Speaker 44 Justin.
Speaker 78 Sorry, just to put a bow on that game, because you said the Rams, you're struggling to see anything that concerns you or worries you about them.
Speaker 78 Their one weird thing has been field goal kicking, and there's been a lot of consternation in that market about the special teams coordinator who's done such an amazing job with the kickoff unit, but the field goal unit struggling.
Speaker 78 So interesting to see what happens here with a new kicker.
Speaker 57 I know what's wrong with it.
Speaker 57 I had to watch like every single one of their kicks for a project that I have that's coming out soon. It's like it's the same guys.
Speaker 57 It's the two guys to the left of center that are getting double teamed and blown up on literally every kick. I mean, Jalen Carter beat the bejesus out of one of those guys horribly.
Speaker 57
And then they tried to replace the guy in that spot and he got beat even worse. That was the kick return for the touchdown.
They've been getting beat through like the same gap all season.
Speaker 57 I don't know what you do. You can't just put flexibility.
Speaker 42 We've solved the issue.
Speaker 74 Just put a better player there.
Speaker 49 Put some more capable motherfuckers there.
Speaker 44 Capable.
Speaker 5 Well, I'd put the thicker kicker up there on the line.
Speaker 42 Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 52 Yeah, that's another move. All right.
Speaker 83 Let's see.
Speaker 10 Moving on, the number 21 Cardinals 3-5 at the number two in our power ranking Seattle Seahawks, six and two.
Speaker 14 A little bit of news that went down here that the Cardinals placed Kyler Murray on IR this week.
Speaker 84 So he's already missed like three games, and now he's going to miss at least four more.
Speaker 6 Very nice, very nicely done by the Cardinals.
Speaker 86 Soft benching of your franchise quarterback.
Speaker 53 Oh, his mid-foot sprain.
Speaker 66 Oh, you know, you know, it's dope as hell.
Speaker 73 Everything's fine, but we're going to make sure he's healthy.
Speaker 14 No, Kyler Murray is the better quarterback right now.
Speaker 35 Excuse me, Jake Brisket is the better quarterback right now.
Speaker 1 So he's going to play.
Speaker 14 Here's Gannon, by the way, on the decision he made.
Speaker 64 It's a little tricky because he didn't have to do this in retrospect.
Speaker 52 He could have just put Kyler on IR and be like, yeah, four more weeks of Jake.
Speaker 35 But he did elaborate on that this was, maybe it's out of respect for Jacoby Brissette. We're letting the people know that he is the quarterback for a reason.
Speaker 92 Kyler's going to go on IR.
Speaker 92 Feel like that's the best thing for him and for us.
Speaker 92 He's not fully healthy, ready to go yet. So that makes the most sense.
Speaker 57 You know, there's like a PR guy there on the headset by the thing just to be like, don't infer that he's not really hurt. Don't infer that he's not really hurt.
Speaker 42
Like zapping his balls underneath the table. Less words.
Less words, right?
Speaker 34 Please stop talking.
Speaker 42 Please stop talking.
Speaker 39 Move to bam night conversation.
Speaker 42 Now.
Speaker 42 Ah, my nuts.
Speaker 45 Things are weird there in the desert, man.
Speaker 34 Anyway, so
Speaker 34 I like the Seahawks a lot in this game, Mark.
Speaker 70 I mean, if there's a team that's been more consistent week to week than the Rams, it might be their division mates, the Seahawks,
Speaker 6 and they're just obliterating everything in their path.
Speaker 83 It's going to be a big test for Arizona here on the road.
Speaker 5 They destroyed the commanders.
Speaker 5 They destroyed them. That game was over at halftime, and you're watching Sam Darnold play at a level that we've never seen.
Speaker 5 You've got in Jackson, Smith, and Jigba, one of the top wideouts in the entire league.
Speaker 5
They are dominating in every possible phase. And I think they're just growing as a team.
And it's like, you're right.
Speaker 5 If you look at the Rams and say, I can't really find outside of Justin's notation there, like a real weakness.
Speaker 5 I feel that way about Seattle as well. And if you're the Cardinals,
Speaker 5 you're going to find out quickly that Jacoby Brissette is,
Speaker 5
he is a quality person, number one, and a quality fill-in quarterback. But this is a tough, tough task.
This is a tough task.
Speaker 5 And I think Seattle is just turning into the kind kind of team, it's the way I feel about the Patriots, where you just don't know where they might wind up at the end of the day.
Speaker 20 Get off this corner, Sessler. You're not welcome on Seattle Corner with your curses.
Speaker 42
I'm not cursing you. I said I have to.
You could have your Patriots.
Speaker 6 You could have the Cardinals. You could have the Browns.
Speaker 9 You could have whoever else,
Speaker 15 the Packers, you could have all those teams.
Speaker 19 Stay away from Seattle.
Speaker 34 Pacific Northwest is off limits for the Sessdock.
Speaker 5 I'm not jumping on their train.
Speaker 42 I'm just saying they're not just the way you put it.
Speaker 48 You know, Connor, like, he's like, oh, there's just something in the air.
Speaker 12 It's like, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 60 We don't like any of that because that
Speaker 27 feels Sam out of this, okay?
Speaker 5 Connor feels it too.
Speaker 42 I mean, I've had them
Speaker 57
number one, number two in the power rankings for the last few weeks, and everyone's been like, what's this guy smoking? So I've been here. So, yeah, it's full, but bus is full.
Train's full.
Speaker 65 Okay.
Speaker 73 Go back to New England.
Speaker 91 Go in the woods of Foxborough and build your fire and poop behind it.
Speaker 5 That plays to your interests, but sure. But I see a good team.
Speaker 34 Last note on this hit me.
Speaker 1 I like Seattle comfortably in this one, but I do.
Speaker 77 Arizona has been one of my least favorite teams to watch because I can't stand watching Kyler Murray play quarterback and all the check downs and the short passing, and it's just not fun.
Speaker 72 Jake Brisket, he hangs in the pocket like a big 1988 passer and throws it downfield.
Speaker 48 And he has guys to throw to.
Speaker 91 Marvin Harrison Jr.
Speaker 41 suddenly looking like the true number one pick that he was.
Speaker 48 And Trey McBride has been a stud the last three weeks.
Speaker 34 Great.
Speaker 75 Maybe we get a good game out of it.
Speaker 46 Let's see. Let's see.
Speaker 32
Let's see. One more late game.
The number five Lions.
Speaker 80 Five and three.
Speaker 46 They're already up to three losses, by the way, at the midpoint of the season.
Speaker 19 So this has been a little bit more of a struggle, obviously, even though it was last year's team that was decimated by injuries, Niners style, and they kept finding a way.
Speaker 70 This team has hit roadblocks.
Speaker 14 They travel now to D.C., Landover to get the commanders at the perfect time, obviously, with Jaden Daniels' elbow injury, he is out of commission once again.
Speaker 14 We're relegated to Kenny Albert, Jonathan Vilma status here.
Speaker 51 What do you want to see from the Lions, Connor, in terms of them getting their mojo to a place you need it to be as we get closer to Thanksgiving when the real season begins?
Speaker 57
Offensive line health and offensive line dominance. Full stop, period.
I mean, that is the issue with this team right now. That was the issue with this team last week in Minnesota.
Speaker 57 That's why I was literally banging on my keyboard, being like, why aren't you guys calling the commanders? They had two guys that were on the block, offensive lineman, the Browns.
Speaker 57
They had a couple guys on the block, even the Saints with Trevor Penning. Like, they need depth.
They need help.
Speaker 57 I think, if I'm not mistaken, both of their offensive tackles, I think Decker and Sewell are both going to be out in this game, if I'm not mistaken. And so, can you still run that offense?
Speaker 57 Is there that, does Dan Campbell have this like pack of fear old dogs at every position that we just don't know about?
Speaker 57 And the offensive linemen are just going to come out and everything's going to be fine? Or is there a breaking point like we saw with the secondary last year? I don't know.
Speaker 5 It's the exact correct answer. I mean, they were the highest scoring offense coming out of September, and they've been, I think, 18th over the last month.
Speaker 5 It's been a different situation, but you are facing a commanders' defense that has been
Speaker 5
absolutely bludgeoned over the last three weeks. They've given up the second most points in the league.
And the commanders, to me, it's not just Jaden Daniels.
Speaker 5 It it is their defense, and they've fallen apart. And we talked about their age of the roster.
Speaker 5 It feels like a team that is floating away. And so Detroit has no excuse not to blow the doors off.
Speaker 20 If Washington had the same record they do now, three and six, and they had Jaden Daniels, and he didn't play that last series and didn't blow out his elbow, I would say this would be a pretty compelling potential
Speaker 21 loser-goes home match, or at at least on their side, like where their backs are against the wall and they got to find a way to have a special game.
Speaker 43 But two things are working against them.
Speaker 39 One, the Lions got humbled last week by the Vikings, so you know that's going to have them in a certain mood.
Speaker 10 And two,
Speaker 34 Marcus Mariota is a quarterback.
Speaker 14 That was a stomach punch to that team to get humbled and blown out at home and then lose your quarterback.
Speaker 39 That's the type of stuff where a team quietly packs up
Speaker 40 mentally and says bye-bye.
Speaker 13 And I think that's what happens here.
Speaker 14 I think Washington is going to be one of the worst teams in football for the rest of the way.
Speaker 25 And
Speaker 50 for that reason alone, I think the Lions are going to roll in this one.
Speaker 53 All right, let's take a break.
Speaker 46 And when we get back,
Speaker 50 oh yeah, quad box, baby.
Speaker 16 You know what the holidays mean in my house.
Speaker 12
Well, you don't. You don't live in my house, but you can understand it's chaos.
There's shopping.
Speaker 23 hosting, gifting, and about a thousand little things in between.
Speaker 56 But I've learned to make it easier on myself at Bob's Discount
Speaker 12 i love gifting and honestly why not go big this year forget about another candle right
Speaker 12 get a power reclining sofa for just 9.99 which honestly that's insane that's a great deal they've got those uh sploosh chairs for kids i know sessler has one on his mind for himself i also um I'm a Bob's guy.
Speaker 23 I got two outdoor rocking chairs and also got this storage bed for the bedroom.
Speaker 1 We have space issues at our house, Mark.
Speaker 23 And having the storage bed, I can put a bunch of stuff under the bed and forget about it forever, which is my goal.
Speaker 5 No, it's um, it's ideal for your type of household situation.
Speaker 5 Uh, there's some incredible items here, and if you're looking to freshen things up before the guests arrive, there are tons of smaller items too: stylish decor, accent pieces, the works.
Speaker 5 Whether you're gifting, hosting, or just trying to make your space holiday-ready, you can do it all without the stress, shop haggle, and hassle-free when you holiday the Bob's Way.
Speaker 31 Bob's way, baby!
Speaker 5

Speaker 23 I just look like a monster.
Speaker 50 It's got to be the right fit.
Speaker 31 And Warby Parker.

WarbyParker.com slash HTC.
Speaker 12 Thanks, Mark. I appreciate that.
Speaker 42 compliment. You're welcome.
Speaker 23 All right.
Speaker 49 We did the prime time games.
Speaker 31 We did the late late games.
Speaker 30 And now, everybody's favorite moment of the Thursday preview show.
Speaker 4 We're rolling out that quad box, bitch.
Speaker 5 RS is in the deck pod now.
Speaker 94 Put on your socks and tune in your box.
Speaker 57 How artful this is.
Speaker 21 Look for you.
Speaker 2 Evan, Evan, Evans.
Speaker 94 Hey, Nipbell fans.
Speaker 95 Kathy Bates here.
Speaker 42 Or
Speaker 2 okay, perfect.
Speaker 72 It's starting to ruin the show.
Speaker 42 It's getting there.
Speaker 45 It's getting to the point where, yeah, it's a major
Speaker 21 blind spot for us where it's like, obviously, this is getting too long
Speaker 19 and it's stopping the show in its tracks.
Speaker 21 And yet, I can't help but continue to feed the monster, you know, because you just want to see how big the monster gets.
Speaker 22 You want to see how scary this monster can get, Mark.
Speaker 34 So there are no reverse gears in the tank of Heath the Call.
Speaker 89 Everyone knows that.
Speaker 54 And we have another,
Speaker 87 what, eight weeks of the regular season or whatever, nine weeks.
Speaker 55 We're going to keep building out this quad box.
Speaker 34 Everybody, hold on to your asses.
Speaker 5 It's like an Andy Warhol film that went on, I think, about the Empire State Building for four hours at one point. It was a 10-hour long film about the Empire State Building.
Speaker 5 That's what this will become by early January, and it will be beautiful.
Speaker 42 Yeah. All right.
Speaker 48 Let's get it going.
Speaker 4 Mark, start the the quad box.
Speaker 5 Well, there is an obvious number one choice here, and it's the number eight Patriots going down to Florida to take down the number 10 Buccaneers. We've got Nansen Romo.
Speaker 5
I'm very excited about this game. I don't like to fake things.
Like, I'll just say, like, either I'm into this or I'm not.
Speaker 5 This one
Speaker 5
stirs the imagination. It truly does.
And
Speaker 5
I think it's a huge game for the Buccaneers. It absolutely is.
Like, you're going up against a quarterback in Drake May that has been one of the best passers in the NFL against the Blitz.
Speaker 5 He has grown into an MVP candidate over the last couple of months.
Speaker 5 The Bucks, I'm not saying they're on the ropes, but it's going to take a Todd Bulls kind of masterpiece to do what you can do at home because you are still a team missing.
Speaker 5 the vast majority of your offense.
Speaker 5 It sounds like Bucky Irvin probably will not play.
Speaker 5 Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and they really struggled generating just 152 yards of passing offense against the Saints.
Speaker 5 So now you've got to go face a Patriots defense that's just growing up and defense that's growing up before our eyes. And like, it's a fascinating matchup because it's two very important teams to me.
Speaker 64 I think it's interesting that you say that.
Speaker 3 And this, I don't mean this in a negative way towards the Patriots or their quarterback at all, but
Speaker 44 like you're saying, like, Bowles has to cook up a masterpiece to beat the Patriots.
Speaker 3 Maybe that is who the Patriots are.
Speaker 54 Maybe that is the level that the head coach and defensive mastermind that Bowles is has to to handle Drake May, who's now elevated to like a knocking on the door of the superstar club.
Speaker 3 Maybe he's already there, and that's that.
Speaker 5 He's like fourth in passing. Like, he's that's what I mean.
Speaker 48 That's the real deal.
Speaker 87 He checks the boxes on when you look, pop the hood, and I think he's, what, he's had seven straight games, eighth straight games with a hundred-plus passer rating, and he's doing everything right.
Speaker 44 That's why I love this game, Connor, when you talk about who is Drake May. Like, how good is Drake May?
Speaker 49 We're going to find out.
Speaker 18 It's a nice test for him.
Speaker 57 Well, I think we're going to find out how much we can stress test that Patriots offensive line because Todd Bowles is one of the most creative blitzers in the NFL.
Speaker 57 And, I mean, when he calls his shots in these games, he's getting home. I think Drake May has been sacked 12 times in the last two games.
Speaker 57 And that was another team that I was surprised kind of didn't dig for help. They're just hoping this unit gels and comes together.
Speaker 57 And there's, what, three or four new starters on this line from last year? So it has to be.
Speaker 57 But this, to me, is the moment where, you know, and I worry about stuff like that, where Drake May and the superstar conversation gets conflated with the fact that he might just have guys up his ass the whole game and there's nothing to do about it.
Speaker 57 And so I'm interested to see what Bulls does here.
Speaker 77 I think a lot of people were thinking the Patriots were going to make a splash move.
Speaker 26 It felt like a good opportunity.
Speaker 35 Same way with the Colts, where the Colts seized or sensed this is a moment in this AFC and went and got Sauce Gardner.
Speaker 9 The Patriots,
Speaker 85 Vrabel addressed that and used an interesting metaphor this week with the media.
Speaker 96
Well, first, I would say that deals are like being pregnant. You either are or you aren't.
There's no like, it's either a deal or it's not. So I don't know how close you can be.
Speaker 57 I mean, that's just categorically false. That's like such a weird
Speaker 57 like you could be absolutely close to a deal. I mean, GMs call each other all the time, and they're like, hey, I'll give you a second-round pick, and I'm like, no, I want a third-round pick.
Speaker 57 Like, that's that's close to a deal.
Speaker 60 I don't know.
Speaker 57 Yeah, you could also be close to being pregnant, too.
Speaker 44 Yeah, a lot.
Speaker 4 That's true, too.
Speaker 8 I guess he's one of those people, and it doesn't surprise me if Rabel views life as,
Speaker 90 and maybe this keeps him sane as a head coach.
Speaker 89 It's either yes or no, and there's no in between.
Speaker 69 But a good question by Karen Garrigan.
Speaker 43 She had asked the question, and you know, it was answered.
Speaker 65 Anyway, yeah,
Speaker 77 Baker's been, the last couple of games has cooled off a little bit.
Speaker 66 I don't know if anybody's noticed that.
Speaker 90 They haven't been as explosive.
Speaker 5 He's missing half his cast, though, too. I mean, I will.
Speaker 5 I didn't say he was, you know, I know, but
Speaker 5 I do feel like one thing, and maybe I'm being annoying, but like with the Bucs, like we kind of gloss, I'm not pointing fingers at you or anyone, but like we gloss over the devastating injuries they're dealing with.
Speaker 5 Like, it's kind of wild.
Speaker 15 He's actually a victim of his own success because
Speaker 89 whether it's injuries or a play caller change, he's always found a way to keep leveling up his game the last two years.
Speaker 75 I'm just saying the last couple of weeks, it hasn't been the same type of Baker production. But Amika Abuka, yes, to your point, coming back and getting healthier, coming off a buy,
Speaker 8 that's going to really help them, I think.
Speaker 14 So
Speaker 72 I love this matchup.
Speaker 10 I think it's a great game.
Speaker 14 I think it can go down to the wire. I think it's,
Speaker 15 I would be stunned if this game, let's pick this game. I'd be stunned if this game is more than one score.
Speaker 75 I'm going to go
Speaker 4 Baker with the ball last, 34-31.
Speaker 62 What do you guys got?
Speaker 5 It's the one area where the Patriots have struggled is their red zone defense has been a little faulty, and that kind of lines up with what you just said about the Bucs. I'm going to go Tampa Bay
Speaker 5 to 24 in overtime.
Speaker 42 Ooh.
Speaker 57 I'll be an outlier in this one. Like, give me...
Speaker 44 Go for it, bro.
Speaker 57 Give me, like, a 27-24
Speaker 5 New England victory at Foxborough.
Speaker 57 It'll be a little bit, the score will be a little bit closer than the game indicates. Like, New England will kind of push them around a little bit.
Speaker 14 One last thing, Brady, we mentioned
Speaker 14 not calling this game.
Speaker 28 You would think Patriots Bucks, that'd be perfect, but maybe it's a little too hot for old Tommy Boy.
Speaker 36 But the former Buccaneer and Patriots Super Bowl winning quarterback recently revealed that his current dog, Junior is a clone of his late dog, Lua, who died in December 2023.
Speaker 39 The dogs were cloned by Colossal Biosciences.
Speaker 53 That's a major red flag.
Speaker 48 You want to talk about, can we cook up the most evil-sounding corporate empire?
Speaker 72 Exactly.
Speaker 32 Giant factories sitting by the river with green sludge pouring out of the pipes, you know what I mean?
Speaker 35 Into the water supply of the area village, like Colossus Biosciences, a biotech company that Brady, of course, is an investor in, using blood collected prior to Lua's death.
Speaker 52 No, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 56 Stop it.
Speaker 64 This Tom Brady absolutely needs to be stopped.
Speaker 22 This man believes that he is above the law.
Speaker 35 He believes that he is above his fellow man.
Speaker 11 He is now trying to play God.
Speaker 57 You know who I miss every day?
Speaker 64 I miss Boomer, my beautiful dog that I had from 1997, named after the quarterback, until he passed away in 2012.
Speaker 3 And I mourned that dog for a decade.
Speaker 64 And I didn't buy a new dog because it hurt so much that he left us.
Speaker 46 Because it's the only thing wrong with dogs, the most beautiful of all creatures, is that they live just long enough for you to...
Speaker 32 feel like they are actually family and then they leave.
Speaker 9 But that's part of life.
Speaker 37 And I waited 10 years. And then, you know what I said?
Speaker 97 When I was finally ready, I welcomed Captain.
Speaker 12 I'm going to get the Captain Cam.
Speaker 49 He likes to just lay on the couch when I do the shows.
Speaker 77 So we'll get the Captain Cam working.
Speaker 32 And I moved on.
Speaker 77 Tom Brady should have moved on.
Speaker 85 And I'm just sick of his attitude all the way around.
Speaker 65 That's it.
Speaker 5 He's got a little bit of
Speaker 5 Elon Musk to him.
Speaker 5 I would say one thing. As a child, when you lose a pet or
Speaker 5 you learn about death, it's a great passage in life just to understand things.
Speaker 5 i have simultaneously thought about like if i if i belong to colossal science whatever it is if i could clone myself and then raise myself and
Speaker 5 like be a better like i'd be a great parent to myself what would happen to me in second life scenarios but wait wait a sec wait a second wait a second
Speaker 5 run that by me again i i want to hear you could if we can clone we're not far away we probably already are cloning people right connor but like if i could literally clone myself.
Speaker 42 We're probably doing a connect though. That would be interesting.
Speaker 5
I'm saying I clone myself. Yes.
And then from a, from the baby, because you're born as a baby in that situation still, like, I raise myself and be like a great dad to myself.
Speaker 5 Like, what, the, you know, the sky is the limit there.
Speaker 5 Does that make sense?
Speaker 49 It's, it's, listen, I don't throw this around.
Speaker 4 But it does sound a little narcissistic.
Speaker 27 Just create more of myself to hang out with myself to make me a better person.
Speaker 60 Like, I don't know.
Speaker 5 Well, I'd make that person a better person, but that would be. Yes, I see what you mean.
Speaker 57 I've been on this site since you guys have been both kind of doing this, and
Speaker 57 the text on the main portion of their website is horrifying. And I'm just going to kind of read this.
Speaker 57
In the minds of many, the woolly mammoth is gone forever, but not in the minds of our scientists. We don't need the woolly mammoth back.
The woolly mammoth died for a very good reason.
Speaker 57 We don't need like 50 foot tall furry tusked elephants just blasting their way through downtown New Jersey. Like this is not,
Speaker 57
we can't deal with this. There's enough problems.
This is not, this is not a fix.
Speaker 5 We got caught off the amusement park beat, and he's now on this beat.
Speaker 32 Now, as I understand it, there are term limits in our country for presidents.
Speaker 8 Are there term limits? Like, if
Speaker 49 some, I'm just throwing this out here, what's inevitably going to happen.
Speaker 34 If a presidential figure cloned himself, could he run for the office multiple more times?
Speaker 79 Oh, God.
Speaker 42 Just throwing it.
Speaker 5 It's a different person. Yeah.
Speaker 57 Let's just. Look what you did, Mark.
Speaker 88 If that happens, that's on you. And
Speaker 19 it's a front-page story on i Dream is red.
Speaker 42 It is not.
Speaker 28 It's just like all big font lever. We did it.
Speaker 57 De-extinction.
Speaker 42 Eight more years.
Speaker 5 Had you ever laid eyes on that newsletter, you would know that
Speaker 5 is not the direction of it.
Speaker 28 We did it
Speaker 34 like Pearl Harbor size font underneath underneath eight more years,
Speaker 54 and then underneath that more question mark
Speaker 42 football.
Speaker 4 Hold on. All right, let's add to the quad box.
Speaker 76 I'll do the next one.
Speaker 52 I love it.
Speaker 32
I love it. I love it.
Number 16, Ravens, 3-5.
Speaker 37 Coming off back-to-back wins, getting their Stella getting their groove back here.
Speaker 14 Travel to Minneapolis to get the Vikings, the number 17 Vikings.
Speaker 70 So 16-17, Kugler and Moose on the call.
Speaker 87 Good spot for them because I think this game could be a lot of fun.
Speaker 26 I really, I really
Speaker 19 like to see Lamar another week clear from the hamstring.
Speaker 85 Flores and the Vikings defense is coming off a really good week where they obviously neutralized Detroit.
Speaker 51 So
Speaker 14 you can't sleep on their ability to do that again against the Ravens.
Speaker 9 But, you know, the thing about the Ravens, Connor, that I've really, you know, you enjoy watching them, especially in the regular season in these recent years, once they start humming on offense, I don't know if anybody can stop them.
Speaker 1 So this is going to be a real test.
Speaker 77 And if the Ravens do succeed, that will put more pressure on J.J.
Speaker 9 McCarthy and that offense to keep pace.
Speaker 20 This will be a good test for that team all the way around.
Speaker 57 Yeah, I don't think that last week's performance by Flores was a red herring by any stretch, but there was a clear weakness within that offensive line with Detroit, and they exploited it versus this game with Baltimore.
Speaker 57 Lamar can neutralize a lot of those things. And so
Speaker 57 I'm dying to see. And this goes back actually all the way to, I remember talking to Mike Tomlin about this, the reason that he fell in love with Brian Flores.
Speaker 57 And Brian Flores really got his star rise in Miami. Do you remember that primetime game where he just zero-blitzed Lamar Jackson the same same way like 36 straight times?
Speaker 57
It was one of the most ridiculous game plans ever. If you go back and watch that, it's on YouTube.
It's fascinating. It's the same blitz over and over and over and over again.
Speaker 57 And so maybe he has that ability to stay in Lamar's head, to get in his head, to concoct something,
Speaker 57 but it's not going to be as cut and dry as it was a week ago.
Speaker 4 The JJ McCarthy stuff, we didn't get a chance to talk about this.
Speaker 81 He had a fun locker room moment
Speaker 50 after
Speaker 50 the win
Speaker 89 against the Lions. He has
Speaker 49 a look in his eyes when he's getting talked up by KOC.
Speaker 21 And he said that that's actually, he explained to the media this week, that that's actually a alter,
Speaker 67 it's an alter ego, I think, I think is the way he put it.
Speaker 10 I think he called it nine for his number.
Speaker 83 Let's listen. Let's let him explain.
Speaker 98 There's definitely a level of a switch that gets flipped.
Speaker 98 You know, for me, it's, you know, that i i call him nine nine comes out and i got to understand like okay he can't be at his peak performance throughout three and a half hours so how do i find little ways you know on the sideline you know get back to my breath get back to my visualization that could kind of maintain that intense you know competitive stamina throughout the whole game but yeah it's just you know the pure will determination to get the job done Okay.
Speaker 42 All right.
Speaker 57 Well,
Speaker 57 he can't be on whatever, up to his competitive strength all game because he's really only good during the scripted portions of the game.
Speaker 42
So it's like first 15 plays of each half. I want to hear more.
That was nine.
Speaker 86 Let's hear more about nine.
Speaker 98 I kind of love feeding that wolf because my entire life, you know, at Michigan, it was a smiley face on my hand and smile and you have fun. You're going to play better and all that, which is true.
Speaker 98 But I also think there's a lot of power that comes from, you know, that built-up anger that you can transmute into your performance.
Speaker 57 Transmute.
Speaker 35 I know this, you eat all this shit up, Sessler.
Speaker 34 So I don't, and mileage varies, okay?
Speaker 77 So, but so I'm going to just respectfully pass the mic to you to talk about how great all this is.
Speaker 48 I get a little bit, just a tiny bit with J.J. McCarthy, a little bit of Drew Locke vibes, you know, rapping on the sideline and maybe a guy that's fun to be around.
Speaker 97 He's a big competitor, but can he actually play?
Speaker 7 I don't know.
Speaker 3 But I know this is, you love this, Mark.
Speaker 5 I
Speaker 59 do.
Speaker 5 And watching him march into that locker room
Speaker 5 it made me literally like tangibly jealous that he's someone else's quarterback and like even the browns fan and me it's like why is he not my quarterback like i feel fascination with him um and i just have the question roaming out there like what happens to mark if JJ McCarthy ends the Ravens season this weekend.
Speaker 5 What happens to me then?
Speaker 5 We don't know.
Speaker 21 Jackson Dart's getting jealous because he was supposed to be the
Speaker 20 young knight that Mark would genuflect in front of, but now it's J.J.
Speaker 45 McCarthy.
Speaker 32 I don't know if that's quite earned yet.
Speaker 4 In all seriousness, I do want to see him be a consistent player for four quarters straight before we talk about what a
Speaker 45 fascinating young talent he is.
Speaker 5 I mean, we're mere hours into his career, though.
Speaker 57 Yeah, it's three starts. Yeah.
Speaker 57 Yeah, I totally agree. And I think that what impressed me the most about McCarthy was the way that
Speaker 57 he lost it. He lost it in that Lions game and got it back.
Speaker 57 And I think that's the hardest thing to do for a young player that when you pull the trigger and some of those balls go high or you're thrown behind a guy and it gets picked off, to be able to regroup mentally.
Speaker 57 And, you know, Kevin O'Connell, you could say whatever you want, quarterback whisper, no one's going to say the right thing to you. That's you building yourself back up.
Speaker 57 And whether that's visualization or he does the meditation thing or he has the alter ego, great. If it's working for him, he brought himself back in that game.
Speaker 57 And I will say, I was very impressed by that.
Speaker 42 All right.
Speaker 11 Let's move to the next game in the quad box.
Speaker 42 Connor.
Speaker 79 Oof.
Speaker 57 Not leaving a whole lot here
Speaker 57 for me to take.
Speaker 42 Give me.
Speaker 57 You know what? Actually,
Speaker 57 give me the number 29 Browns at the number 30 Jets. I want to see how.
Speaker 42 There we go.
Speaker 57 You know why? Because I want to see how.
Speaker 57 Quad box violation!
Speaker 46 Oh, you got quad box violation.
Speaker 34 Why Justin makes these decisions?
Speaker 14 I want everyone to know that.
Speaker 21 Justin,
Speaker 21 why did you decide this?
Speaker 5 Well, there's a couple of reasons.
Speaker 78
First of all, this is the least competitive game of week 10. These two teams have combined for three wins.
Pick any other matchup and combine the wins. The lowest number you'll get is six.
Speaker 78 And secondly, we've spent a large portion.
Speaker 78 We have spent a large portion of the last two shows talking about the Jets and the fallout of their trade. Rightfully so.
Speaker 46 It's
Speaker 42 a biggest piece of news.
Speaker 78 But
Speaker 78 that was a lot of Jets airtime. And these two teams are irrelevant to the rest of the 2025 season.
Speaker 5 Not to the draft race, though.
Speaker 5 There is like
Speaker 42 a
Speaker 88 point, that has nothing, I mean, unless we want to pump up the whoever loses this actually wins.
Speaker 43 And that seems like a little bit depressing to preview a game where that's the prize.
Speaker 50 I don't know.
Speaker 60 I see where Justin's coming from on it.
Speaker 34 Connor, you got to pick again.
Speaker 61 You got to pick again.
Speaker 17 I'm sorry.
Speaker 44 That's the rules here.
Speaker 79 Okay,
Speaker 57 fine, asshole, and let's do like,
Speaker 57 okay, the rest of these games have two win and three win teams.
Speaker 78 Yeah, but add them up. It's more than three total wins.
Speaker 57 What kind of high math is this that you're just like, oh, in order to like, the games are awesome when you add one win total plus the other win total.
Speaker 48 That's like a
Speaker 84 tough situation here.
Speaker 9 This is insane.
Speaker 84 That's it, man.
Speaker 19 That's just like, that was the decision that came down from Mount Olympus on that one.
Speaker 57 Yeah, Mount Olympus.
Speaker 57 Okay.
Speaker 57 I can't even dunk.
Speaker 79 Mount Olympus.
Speaker 57
Two and seven. The number 26 Giants and the number 15 Bears.
Joe Davis is backed from MLB. He'll probably be feeling himself.
We'll get Greg Olson to talk about the Ben Johnson offense.
Speaker 57 So that'll be fun, be a little learning experience.
Speaker 57 And we'll see if Ben Johnson can keep rolling six wins at this point. It'd be pretty spicy for this Bears team.
Speaker 77 What do we, we just did our over-unders redraft.
Speaker 1 Someone has the, what, eight and a half Bears under?
Speaker 47 You.
Speaker 44 Oh, I do.
Speaker 42 Okay, so I have to, you know, I don't want to
Speaker 42 have
Speaker 46 any, exactly.
Speaker 49 I don't have any ill will toward the people of Chicago, and I know it's been a long time since the Bears have been fun to watch, so I'm not going to be rooting against the Bears, but
Speaker 47 I will continue to have my guard up about the Chicago Bears and in terms of their consistency.
Speaker 16 If you want us to take you seriously as a playoff team and the NFC, this Giants team is limping.
Speaker 19 This Giants team looks rudderless in certain ways.
Speaker 1 This Giants team could be headed toward big changes in the offseason at the food chain on the coaching staff.
Speaker 47 This is a Giants team that you should stomp.
Speaker 10 You're in your building.
Speaker 80 Your offense is humming, and you have a Giants defense that is flustered, and a young quarterback in New York who doesn't have a lot to work with anymore.
Speaker 70 Go put together a comprehensive 31 to 14 win and move on to the next week.
Speaker 11 I challenge you, Chicago Bears.
Speaker 46 Take care of business here.
Speaker 5 That's how this game feels to me. And
Speaker 5
it's a wanting Giants defense. And with each quarter and week, we're getting closer to the Ben Johnson offense that has been advertised.
You see it here and there.
Speaker 5
And I thought without DeAndre Swift last week, what they were able to do on the ground was totally dominant. So I'm with you.
I think this Giants defense has been a hot mess.
Speaker 5 And outside of Jackson Dart running around a lot, like, I don't know how you keep up with the Bears offense unless there are turnovers.
Speaker 57 This will be the week that I want to see Caleb Williams start getting that time to throw time back down under like 3.2. He takes the longest of any quarterback in the NFL from the snap.
Speaker 57 And I know some of that is the window dressing, and some of that is the motion and the play action and everything that goes along with the Bears' offense.
Speaker 57 But this could be, I mean, the Giants' off defensive line is not great off the snap. They're not immediately in your face.
Speaker 57 But if you give them those second chances to get you in the backfield, they are athletic enough to punish you there theoretically. So let's see what happens.
Speaker 68 To your point, Mark, Kyle Monungai, awesome game, nearly 200 total yards in that game.
Speaker 43 Helped them in the passing game and obviously in the running game when he went for 176.
Speaker 9 So that shows the depth.
Speaker 14 And I don't know, not to oversimplify it, but Caleb Williams, if he can just eliminate the week-to-week inconsistencies,
Speaker 91 that's, I think, the only thing that's holding this team.
Speaker 46 I'm not even saying they're being held back, but what will allow them to go to that next level, right?
Speaker 43 What Ben Johnson was able to do in Detroit with Jared Goff, who was a consistent passer.
Speaker 13 Can they build on that?
Speaker 56 It's going to be fun to watch.
Speaker 42 All right.
Speaker 59
That was good, Connor. That was a good pivot.
Nice job.
Speaker 57
Yeah. Yeah.
Anytime.
Speaker 82 Justin?
Speaker 42 Yep.
Speaker 44 Close out the quad box.
Speaker 78
I'm going to go with the number 29 Browns. I'm joking.
I'm going to go with
Speaker 78 the number 19 Jacksonville Jaguars, 5-3, traveling to face the number 22 Houston Texans at 3-5 with Helen and J.J.
Speaker 42 Watt on the call.
Speaker 5 This is a snooze fest, but I get what you're doing.
Speaker 34 Everybody, slow down.
Speaker 88 This is an important Davis Mills.
Speaker 8 This is absolutely Justin's in the right here.
Speaker 55 It might not light your tits on fire, but this is an important division game.
Speaker 52 The 5-3 Jags, the Texans who were a playoff team last year that need a win.
Speaker 87 It obviously is a more important game in the NFL schedule than Browns Jets.
Speaker 46 Let's be fair here.
Speaker 78 And the Texans' offense hasn't been super fun to watch this
Speaker 42 season.
Speaker 57 Yeah, let's hear legends sell this one. Come on.
Speaker 78 But Davis Mills will start at quarterback, so it might get less fun to watch. But something Davis Mills did that C.J.
Speaker 78 Stroud has not done very well this season is get the ball to Nicole Collins, their most exciting playmaker.
Speaker 78 And I think this Jaguars defense can be maybe a little bit vulnerable to a Nico Collins deep shot or two in this game.
Speaker 78 Jacksonville has, you know, they started the season so hot, forcing so many turnovers. That's cooled off quite a bit.
Speaker 78 And the Texans, if they don't come out of this game with a win, are going to be in super cornered animal desperation territory at three and six.
Speaker 78 So they have got to come out of this game on top if they want to keep their season alive.
Speaker 39 Absolutely need it.
Speaker 84 And it's in Houston.
Speaker 20 You got to find a way to circle circle the wagons here.
Speaker 66 Iron Eagle and J.J.
Speaker 39 Watt on the call.
Speaker 52 They traded, Jacksonville traded for, and I understand in part where you come from, Connor.
Speaker 35 Like, I struggle with the Jags as an operation.
Speaker 27 I will not hide from the fact that I am one of the sad people out there that drafted Brian Thomas Jr.
Speaker 77 high in my draft and watching him play and labor through efforts and drop balls and get hurt.
Speaker 14 And now he's nursing an ankle sprain.
Speaker 32 And you already have Travis Hunter out of the lineup and on IR, so you lose that kind of element for Jacksonville in terms of intrigue.
Speaker 14 Jacoby Myers is now in the building.
Speaker 35 I would imagine if they can get him coached up, he'll probably have a role right away because they need people to step up and catch those hospital balls from Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 76 You know, we need somebody to go to the hospital at the end in the third quarter.
Speaker 81 And
Speaker 86 Jake Myers is checking in.
Speaker 65 All right.
Speaker 53 Everybody okay? Everybody good?
Speaker 5 I think there's been some division here, but we can get beyond it. But some annoyance has been stirred up.
Speaker 60 A little bit.
Speaker 50
A little bit. All right.
Stay right there.
Speaker 77 Actually, Connor, why don't we take a break?
Speaker 21 I think you can use a sandwich.
Speaker 27 I think it's a Connor sandwich scenario here.
Speaker 13 And we'll welcome in Baldi, and then we'll come back and we'll try to get it all back together.
Speaker 42 Stay right there.

Speaker 31 Oh, baby.
Speaker 43 This gets us excited every week.
Speaker 14 We're joined by Odyssey NFL insider Brian Baldinger, host of the Best Football Show podcast.
Speaker 64 Insider calls are brought to you by Nationwide for your insurance and financial needs.
Speaker 87 Nationwide is on your side.
Speaker 46 Welcome, Baldi.
Speaker 53 How are you doing?
Speaker 94 I'm doing great, Dan.
Speaker 94
I got a double header this weekend. I'm excited about it.
I'll be in Lubbock on Saturday for BYU and the... and the Red Raiders.
Speaker 94 And then I'll be in Tampa on Sunday. So I get to announce like two great games this weekend.
Speaker 42 So
Speaker 94 I'm trying to learn the pronunciation of about about a hundred different polynesians for byu so i'm i'm i'm if i get if i get tongue twisted here talking to you guys it's only because i've got too many vowels in my mouth and i'm trying to spit them out just an example mark of he's not just a tape dog
Speaker 46 and a master in every city he goes into and a man that lives on the ocean in his spare time he puts in the work pronunciations a linguist a professional a professional linguist and we we appreciate that
Speaker 94 just just a random question yeah you guys know how many letters there are in the Hawaiian alphabet?
Speaker 3 Great question.
Speaker 56 I'm going to say, because you said that that way, it's either going to be very few or many.
Speaker 45 I'm going to say 137.
Speaker 42 All right.
Speaker 94 You overshot it.
Speaker 94 There's 12.
Speaker 42 There's 12 letters.
Speaker 94
There's five vowels and seven consonants in the Hawaiian alphabet. So it's just a mix.
Like there could be three A's and four U's and an O and a K. And that could be, you know, that could be an A.
Speaker 94 So I'm just, I'm just getting the.
Speaker 61 Thank you for that knowledge.
Speaker 24 I feel like every week, Mark, there's a moment where we reveal our ignorance to the world around us.
Speaker 43 And in this case, it was the number of letters and the Hawaiian L.
Speaker 5 I think it's daily more than weekly.
Speaker 42 Yes.
Speaker 27 All right, let's get into it.
Speaker 72 Let's start with the game in Berlin, Baldi.
Speaker 10 And
Speaker 3 a lot to unpack in this one.
Speaker 14 It's the number 20 Falcons in our power rankings at the number seven Colts.
Speaker 1 The Colts, we'll start with them, and we'll get to the soft side of things when we talk the Falcons.
Speaker 51 But
Speaker 9 how alarmed were you by the six turnover loss to the Steelers?
Speaker 14 Five of them, of course, by Danny Dimes, who's been brilliant this year, but that would be a game that reminds a lot of Giants fans of games they watched during his, like, where do you put that on the panic meter one to 10 if you're a Colts fan?
Speaker 94 I mean, nobody wants to play that kind of game. I talked to Dan, I did that game on Sunday, and I was there.
Speaker 94 I told TJ,
Speaker 94 if you want to be involved in these breakdowns of money, you better do something in this game. And he turned the game around in the second quarter with a sad fumble.
Speaker 94 That was the first lost fumble by Daniel Jones all year.
Speaker 94 He'd done a great job of taking care of the football.
Speaker 94 But the defensive line,
Speaker 94 they dominated the game for Pittsburgh. Peyton Wilson in that category, too.
Speaker 94
But I think they should bounce back. I mean, I think they're well coached.
I don't think this is going to haunt them. I think they'll go to Germany and play their game.
Speaker 94
You know, we'll see Sauce Gardner, I think, on defense for him on Sunday. It's going to fit in with what Lou Anarumo does.
But my panic meter is not high right now.
Speaker 94 If I see it again, you know, Sunday in Atlanta, against Atlanta, or in the semi-near future here, then I will be alarmed.
Speaker 44 So what about 3.4 right now?
Speaker 52 3.6?
Speaker 94 Maybe low threes out of 10.
Speaker 42 Okay.
Speaker 94 You know, I think, because actually the the first corner, they went up and down the field. They looked like them.
Speaker 94 And then TJ got the ball out of his hands and they muffed the punt, and it just kind of snowballed from there.
Speaker 5 Yeah, and I think it's like they're allowed to have a game like that.
Speaker 5 You know, they're a strange team in a way that, like, we're waiting to find out if they're real. But what is real under Shane Steichen is the development of some of these players on offense.
Speaker 5 And I just wanted to ask you,
Speaker 5 you know, when I, like, Tyler Warren,
Speaker 5 did you ever face a player? Does he remind you of anyone that you dealt with
Speaker 5 in your or faced in your career? Because like he just to me is a very special ingredient to this offense.
Speaker 4 Or covered as a broadcaster, yeah.
Speaker 94 Yeah, I mean, honestly, I have said this, and I said this when I met him at Penn State Pro Day this year. He reminded me of Mark Bavaro.
Speaker 94 Like, Bavaro said two words. He, you know, I mean, he walked around the locker room eating his cereal.
Speaker 94 He'd be mumbling something, smart as hell, didn't say two words all week but was tough as can be like literally would try to rip your you know you know your heart right out of your chest and he has that type of toughness and he brings that to the team and like they're still finding ways to get him the ball and to utilize his skills but mavaro was uh he was a great blocker he was a dependable receiver and he he was just the toughest guy on the field had his jaw wired shut i believe for like a month and no one knew because he didn't
Speaker 42 not just that.
Speaker 94
When he had his jaw wired, he also had a broken toe. So he played with a broken toe and a wired jaw.
Like, it just seems inconsistent.
Speaker 42 That's a bad dude.
Speaker 7 That's a bad dude.
Speaker 70 On the Falcons side of things, it's hard to make sense of the three and five Falcons.
Speaker 45 I think everybody tries to on a weekly basis.
Speaker 26 Then we have to reevaluate it.
Speaker 14 But, you know, the one thing that we do know, we know that Bijan is one of the best running backs in football.
Speaker 34 Is it time to give Drake London a little bit more love as a top 10 talented wide receiver?
Speaker 1 He was unstoppable in week nine with three touchdowns. And now, what a gift Germany gets and the rest of us, because now it looks like Drake London versus Sauce Gardner.
Speaker 94 Time to be a good matchup, you know, and that'd be worth a few Euros, you know, to plunk down to go watch that matchup. But,
Speaker 94 you know, I saw Drake London in training camp this year, and I remember just watching a two-minute drill and then a red zone drill.
Speaker 94 Like, literally, Michael Pennix threw it to him every like every play in practice. And I thought,
Speaker 94
I told people that are into fantasy football, I'm like, just take Drake London. He's going to get 10 targets a minimum a game.
Now, he hasn't, he was out for a little bit and banged up
Speaker 94 and Pennix missed a game, but
Speaker 94 he really is pretty much unstoppable with his catch radius,
Speaker 94 the way that he can just shield defenders.
Speaker 94 They wouldn't be wrong. you know, by throwing it to him, you know, 10 or 15 times on Sunday against this Colts team.
Speaker 42 Do it.
Speaker 76 Just, yeah, flood that guy with targets and see what he can do.
Speaker 1 In general, the offense of Atlanta needs a little more juice, especially in the passing game.
Speaker 39 Insider calls are brought to you by Nationwide for your insurance and financial needs.
Speaker 83 Nationwide is on your side.
Speaker 3 I don't know if I'll get bonus points for singing the jingle or I'll get a sternly worded letter saying, don't sing the jingle
Speaker 65 copy.
Speaker 44 We'll see.
Speaker 34 We'll find out.
Speaker 42 Go ahead, Mark.
Speaker 5 Well, I was going to ask you about this.
Speaker 5 So we've got the Panthers and the Saints and the standout and i you know i can't i think carolina falls into that same category of like do we think this is a legit nfc playoff contender but the play of derrick brown and as a former offensive lineman um
Speaker 5 what was it like to go up against players like this derrick brown has just been a standout badass all season
Speaker 94
so my favorite segment to post every week is the Derrick Brown like frisbee toss. I mean, he just takes these grown linemen.
You know,
Speaker 94 last week it was Morgan from Green Bay. I mean, he just takes these guys and throws them the way Reggie White used to just hunk people.
Speaker 94 He does it two times a game, where literally just does whatever he wants to do with these guys. And, you know, they're 320-pound offensive guards, and he just tosses them.
Speaker 94
He plays a high percentage of snaps. They dominated that game last week.
They really dominated the line of scrimmage. And that's a credit to them.
Speaker 94 Derek's the leader of it, but they've got other guys right there, too, that have played really, really well.
Speaker 94 And they've got some young guys, Nick Skirt and a lot of guys that are coming on and they got they got good players in the secondary and when they can run the ball the way Rico has run it they they have a formula I'll say this Mark they have a formula to how to win games it starts with their you know with their line play offensive and defensive lines you can't ask Bryce to go win you games and do too much they're not gonna but when they can run it and really control the line of scrimmage they they can be they can beat good teams like they have like you know shutting out Atlanta or whatever, but
Speaker 94 they can win games. And so they're legitimate because, but if they get out of that and they start turning it over and throwing it, and, you know,
Speaker 94 it could go sideways on them pretty quick.
Speaker 89 Let's go to what I think is the game of the week.
Speaker 71 We do kind of a draft on our show, Baldi, where we get turns, you know, picking the games to watch on Sunday, and then we recap them Sunday night.
Speaker 34 I have the first pick this week.
Speaker 10 I'm taking number eight, New England, at number 10, Tampa.
Speaker 9 Another great test, I feel like, for Drake May, who's aced every test pretty much this year.
Speaker 27 Put him on the road in that environment against a Tampa team that obviously plays very well in their building.
Speaker 30 Todd Bowles known for that aggressive scheme with blitzing and scrambling up QBs.
Speaker 52 If May goes down there and cooks up Bowles in Tampa, the Patriots to me level up another spot.
Speaker 94 No doubt. No doubt.
Speaker 94
It's a really show-me game, and I'm going to be there in Tampa on Sunday. I can't wait.
Drake has been unbelievable.
Speaker 94 I mean, he's like the jump that he has made this year, how they've developed this team, and they run it more than they throw it. There's a foundation to what Josh McDames is doing.
Speaker 94 They'll line up in I-formation with Jack Westover and a variety of different runs that they have.
Speaker 94 You know,
Speaker 94 you see, you know, in the first quarter last week, you're seeing Trevion Henderson and Will Campbell and Jaron Wilson.
Speaker 94
Like, you've seen all these rookies out there, and they're all playing like veterans. They don't make a lot of mistakes.
But, you know, Todd Bowles has had two weeks to get ready for this game.
Speaker 94 So you know that he's got all kinds of doodles on whiteboards and napkins and pressures that he wants to throw at Drake Me.
Speaker 94 But surprisingly, you go back and you watch, you know, Drake against Cleveland and Schwartzy and what he did to them, like they've got pretty good answers when teams blitz.
Speaker 42 Now, you know,
Speaker 94
it's not Todd Bowles, but because they don't come after you with just one. They come after you in pairs of blitzers.
And usually one comes free. So we'll see.
And Drake has been sacked a lot.
Speaker 94
Second most sacked quarterback in the league. So there is something to that.
And then defensively, New England is vastly improved.
Speaker 94
All those guys they brought in, whether it's Milton Williams or Harold Andry or Splane, they've all played really well. I saw Gonzo go out last week.
I don't know what his health status is.
Speaker 94 I don't watch that stuff during the week. But if you put Gonzo and Marcus Jones and Carlton Davis out there in the corners, all three of those guys will tackle.
Speaker 94 They can defend the, like, they, they play really good defense on all phases. So
Speaker 94 I like the Patriots in the way winner-lose, I like what they're doing.
Speaker 94 But to your point, if they go down and beat Tampa coming off of Biweed, regardless of who's playing for Tampa, that's a signature win, like it was when they went to Buffalo five weeks ago and won in Buffalo.
Speaker 65 Yeah, real quick.
Speaker 64 Christian Gonzalez practicing in full after that concussion.
Speaker 50 So things look good for him.
Speaker 42 Go ahead, Mark.
Speaker 5 That's good.
Speaker 5 Yeah, I think the Patriots are growing up very quickly. And I would just ask you, because it seemed like a very secure and safe move to hire Mike Rabel, but I would imagine you two
Speaker 5 would have a few beers together and probably share some thoughts. But like what makes Mike Rabel special?
Speaker 94
I think two things. One, I think he relates to the players exceptionally well.
All players. Like all backgrounds, whatever.
Speaker 94
I think he knows, like, for example, he benched Christian Barmore a couple weeks ago for the first quarter because he broke a rule. Like, it was just, it was just that clear-cut.
Here's the rule.
Speaker 94
You weren't here on time, whatever it was. You're not playing the first quarter.
That's their best defensive tackle.
Speaker 94 So
Speaker 94
there's probably a few rules, but this is how we're all going to play. We're all going to play by the same.
I think he does a great job game day in real time of fixing issues.
Speaker 94 If a player does something, some knucklehead thing on the field, he's going to address it right there.
Speaker 94 That player's not coming off the field without Mike being in his face, if he has to, or giving him the glare or whatever. I think he's that.
Speaker 94 And then, look, he's got Doug Marone as an offense line coach, been a head coach, been an offense line coach. He knows how to handle that group.
Speaker 94 He's got Josh handling the offense. I mean, I think he's got good lieutenants that, you know, know how to game plan, know how to address situations during a game, be able to fix things on the fly.
Speaker 94 So I think the staff is really good.
Speaker 94 But I think Mike's ability just to not just motivate, but really connect with players to get the best out of them
Speaker 94 is,
Speaker 94 and then his, his relationship with Elliott and the guys and the type of guys they brought in, like anybody that meets Will Campbell, you're like, he could be my left tackle.
Speaker 94
You know, he could marry my daughter. He could be my left tackle.
He could be my captain. Like, I'm all in on Will Campbell.
Speaker 8 Great pick.
Speaker 34 Let's go out like this, Baldy, since Mark mentioned it.
Speaker 8 Because I could see Vrabel and Baldy, you know, having a nice night out at the bar, having a good time.
Speaker 94 We've done that in the Jersey Shore years and years ago.
Speaker 44 There you go.
Speaker 53 So let's see.
Speaker 46 The perfect Baldi poker table.
Speaker 34 It's poker night at Baldy's place, okay?
Speaker 3 And Vrabel's there.
Speaker 52 And I'm going to put, I'm just going to throw some names out there.
Speaker 43 I'm going to put Lawrence Taylor there, LT.
Speaker 9 I'm going to put Jeff George at the table just to kind of spice things up, maybe get things, you know, in a weird place.
Speaker 42 Oh, I'm taking all Jeff's money. I'm taking all of your money.
Speaker 34 Add one more person to the poker table, Baldy.
Speaker 94 I'll take,
Speaker 94 I mean, if we're just talking modern day, I'll just take Max Crosby.
Speaker 42
Put Crosby at the table. Love it.
Yeah. What Max there?
Speaker 6 I love it.
Speaker 89 Thank you very much. Yeah.
Speaker 42
You got it, guys. We got to televise that.
Enjoy it.
Speaker 59 You too. Thank you.
Speaker 80 That was Odyssey NFL Insider Brian Baldinger, host of the best football show podcast. Insider Calls are brought to you by Nationwide for your insurance and financial needs.
Speaker 87 Nationwide is on your side.
Speaker 6 There he goes. Brian Baldinger every week.
Speaker 62 Such a stud for us.
Speaker 83 Also a stud.
Speaker 19 Connor Orr back from his sandwich break.
Speaker 77 How you doing, Connor?
Speaker 55 I know things got heated about the quad box violation.
Speaker 57 It's one of those things that I'm going to say is better now.
Speaker 57 And then like three weeks from now and Justin says something, I'm just going to flip out in a major way.
Speaker 88 So you know what's also funny?
Speaker 19 Cause it's on MarketEyes Radar, we want relations to be strong between the show and your wife.
Speaker 18 And I imagine you're like angrily making the sandwich on the kitchen island.
Speaker 41 And you're like, you're not going to believe it.
Speaker 42 I got a quad box violation, honey.
Speaker 59 And she's like, I hate this show. Right.
Speaker 73 Whatever's happening with this show, you need to stop doing it.
Speaker 57 Will you please just take out the garbage? Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 5 On what level is it necessary that you're part of this production?
Speaker 46 All right, to the other ones.
Speaker 42 And if you're upset that you're in this bucket as a fan, it's not our fault.
Speaker 56 It's yours.
Speaker 87 Well, not yours either.
Speaker 36 It's the team that you support.
Speaker 11 Let's start with the number one in the power rankings, Buffalo Bills traveling to Miami to face the number 27 Dolphins.
Speaker 28 The Dolphins in total disarray, as we know, put 90 seconds on the clock here.
Speaker 4 Sess Dog, they just fired the GM.
Speaker 15 Mike McDaniel is one of the, I would say, like one of the biggest like dead man walking guys I could remember because it's so obvious that he's just here to move the
Speaker 41 he's basically sitting on death row, right?
Speaker 1 And he, and he just has to eat his meals and do his 60 minutes in the, in the yard for his exercise.
Speaker 40 But we all know where this is headed and what room he's headed to.
Speaker 4 And that's a tough place to be for McDaniel and all Dolphins on that roster right now.
Speaker 5 Well, right, in the locker room. And one of the reasons that he's here in this place at this time is that the Bills have owned the Dolphins in the most critical spots over his tenure.
Speaker 5 And, you know, the only space here for Miami is that Joey Bosa is banged up for the Bills, Ed Oliver out, Michael Hoyt banged up, A.J. Epinesis banged up.
Speaker 5 It's a pretty beaten up defense, but I don't know if that means anything because the Dolphins from a week ago, that was the game where I thought they played pretty hard for the coach.
Speaker 5 They completely folded the tent and gave up last week. And it was a depressing defeat.
Speaker 57 Everybody I talked to in this situation confirms exactly what you said, Dan. I mean, they want...
Speaker 57 Mike McDaniel to finish the season because they want to give a new GM a chance to clear the deck and to do everything and to leave it as uncomplicated and unmessy as possible.
Speaker 57 So I think this is just going to be a playing out the string.
Speaker 75 That's tough.
Speaker 89 And if you want to try to build some intrigue in this, is this a trap game for the Bills?
Speaker 49 They just came off that emotional win over the Chiefs. They got a big home matchup against the Bucs next week at Miami.
Speaker 65 Maybe.
Speaker 59 Maybe a potential sleepy Bills team, but probably not.
Speaker 35 All right, moving on the, yes, it was relegated on a violation.
Speaker 32 Number 29, Cleveland Browns 2-6
Speaker 6 at number 30, New York Jets 1-7.
Speaker 46 Let's give the first word here to David Njoku.
Speaker 28 You know, I love that Njoku, Mark.
Speaker 45 I've been saying that for a long time. You are obviously.
Speaker 42 Yeah.
Speaker 40 Yeah, obviously the Browns do too.
Speaker 49 They made him a high draft pick.
Speaker 14 They didn't trade him at the deadline.
Speaker 39 And
Speaker 4 he was very outspoken about being happy about that.
Speaker 101 I'm in Cleveland, baby. I'm not going nowhere.
Speaker 93
I ain't leaving. I'm not leaving.
Ever.
Speaker 101 Ever.
Speaker 5 You don't want it.
Speaker 101 Jesus Christ. No.
Speaker 101 I hope so, yeah.
Speaker 5 Do you know if extension
Speaker 5 started at all or not?
Speaker 101 I can't say.
Speaker 5 David, why are you so passionate about Cleveland being here?
Speaker 101 You don't see this right here?
Speaker 101 This is 85 with a Nigerian flag, but it's also the state of Ohio.
Speaker 42 Oh, my God.
Speaker 93 Yeah, you didn't see that, huh?
Speaker 101 It's nice, isn't it? He has a financial.
Speaker 31 I'm so happy.
Speaker 101
Okay, I don't know how it's put it. I'm so happy.
For real, I'm serious. I found out
Speaker 101
you found out at 4 p.m. yesterday.
Okay, I'm here. I ain't believing.
Speaker 44 Okay, we got it.
Speaker 52 Now,
Speaker 8 he might be buried underneath the uprights in Cleveland,
Speaker 62 but
Speaker 43 yeah, having Dylan Gabriel throwing you spirals is going to be tough for the next eight weeks, if that's what it is, Connor.
Speaker 57 We need to talk about the fact that Paul Deepodes is leaving. Not going to be there anymore.
Speaker 48 He's going to take a job.
Speaker 57 Paul Deepodes is there. You remember they hired him
Speaker 57 from baseball. That was like a giant thing.
Speaker 42 And then
Speaker 57 he had a plan that was so good that they needed to trade everything for Deshaun Watson at the end to save it. But he's going back to baseball, the Colorado Rockies.
Speaker 37 Oh, man, and the Rockies are the worst-run team in baseball.
Speaker 20 They need a grown-up in the room.
Speaker 86 So close the book on that chapter.
Speaker 5 Well, and the Browns are one of the worst-run teams in professional football. So
Speaker 5 it feels like a parallel move to me.
Speaker 4 Sounds like a great hire by the Rockies.
Speaker 20 But no, he did have success in baseball. Now he's going back to from whence he came.
Speaker 60 Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker 42 All right.
Speaker 59 Is that it?
Speaker 53 We only have two games in the other ones?
Speaker 42 Yes.
Speaker 44 Okay.
Speaker 5 We've done it.
Speaker 6 We've done it.
Speaker 42 Time for the blind locks.
Speaker 78 Previewed, baby.
Speaker 52 Nice, baby.
Speaker 83 All right.
Speaker 89 Let's first check in with the standings and the blind locks, where we're at.
Speaker 83 I'm slumping personally.
Speaker 3 Yeah, I'm on a losing streak.
Speaker 59 I can't get off it, baby.
Speaker 11 Connor, comfortably ahead.
Speaker 52 We have to start gunning for Orr, Mark, at this point.
Speaker 8 He's 6-3.
Speaker 83 Zuzzer and Sestog, both 4-5.
Speaker 43 Graver bringing up the rear at three and six.
Speaker 70 This feels like an important week to chip away here.
Speaker 45 But Connor, you are in first place, so you're going to get
Speaker 85 the first choice here.
Speaker 57 This is just like
Speaker 57 in the Patreon draft where I started having some degree of success, and then all of a sudden, all the election,
Speaker 57 all the election requirements were changed, and the signature requirements are changed. And quit gerrymandering.
Speaker 86 Yeah.
Speaker 42 There is no end to your agitation over any issue that we could list.
Speaker 42 Go ahead. What do you got? Okay.
Speaker 48 So what guy six and three?
Speaker 97 When we had a challenge, we had a picks challenge.
Speaker 88 He was the only one that got it.
Speaker 57 Yeah.
Speaker 48 And he's complaining still.
Speaker 34 We need to take this guy down or he's got to go, Zesse.
Speaker 57 Like J.J. McCarthy, I have to channel this competitiveness or else I fall flat.
Speaker 57 What Kakamame rules are involved in this week? Are we just nine?
Speaker 6 What do you got?
Speaker 57 No, is there like some thing where it's like, oh, now it's triple.
Speaker 48 I said there's something.
Speaker 73 I haven't, but you know what?
Speaker 80 Now you've inspired me.
Speaker 35 Next week, there will be a chaos theory thrown in.
Speaker 42 Rule change.
Speaker 44 You've inspired me.
Speaker 42 Boybe.
Speaker 42 You're ready.
Speaker 53 Buckle up your butt because something big's coming week 11.
Speaker 67 It'll be seven days to cook that up.
Speaker 3 Heads are going to be spinning.
Speaker 42 Balls on the floor.
Speaker 57 I'm taking the Ravens.
Speaker 29 Taking the Ravens.
Speaker 34 Okay, remember, these are blind locks.
Speaker 47 If it's five or above,
Speaker 35 it doubles.
Speaker 42 It's going to be close.
Speaker 5 Man, I'm struggling with the spreads here.
Speaker 5 Okay, I'm going Browns over Jets.
Speaker 5 I'm assuming the Jets aren't favored by seven plus points over the Browns.
Speaker 79 No, I think you'll be safe.
Speaker 75 I'm going to go.
Speaker 83 I talked about my blind locks manifesto that I'm writing
Speaker 54 to get off the schneid here.
Speaker 32 And so the principles are never,
Speaker 1 never pick a team with a glaring weakness, like the Cowboys defense, for instance, which got me banged on Monday night.
Speaker 17 So I'm going to try to pick a good team, a better team, and sneak under that five.
Speaker 46 Ooh, that's where it gets tricky.
Speaker 28 Like,
Speaker 17 are the Falcons in Germany
Speaker 25 getting more than five points against the Colts?
Speaker 53 That's a good question.
Speaker 5 The Germany aspect raises, it creates a mystery.
Speaker 54 You know what?
Speaker 66 And I don't like that.
Speaker 20 I'm excited for everyone to enjoy that game in Berlin or whatever.
Speaker 40 But let me go back to America here where I feel safe and I'll take the Rams on the road
Speaker 1 to get the Niners. I would guess that's going to be a spread.
Speaker 27 Maybe I'm going to say Rams three and a half.
Speaker 1 I think I'll be safe there, but we shall see. Justin.
Speaker 78 Yes, I'm going to lock up the Philadelphia Eagles over the Green Bay Packers
Speaker 78 in one of the games of the week because Green Bay has just been too sloppy. And yeah, maybe they'll bounce back and be fired up after losing last week.
Speaker 78 But I feel like this Eagles team is just going to be rolling.
Speaker 59 Interesting.
Speaker 14 Because a criticism that Green Bay's gotten is they're playing to the level of their opponents.
Speaker 1 But that also, the flip side of that is
Speaker 78 they have the skill and ability and coaching and all all that to level up against the good opponent that's a that's a ballsy pick for a gravy and a three and a six I think so too yeah all right yeah well the the other thing is if you pick a game between two good teams your chances of the line banging you over five points is pretty low I think so
Speaker 45 okay let's see yeah I think you're gonna be especially taken
Speaker 38 two and a half
Speaker 42 Ooh, okay, okay, wait, where am I? Four and a half Rams.
Speaker 53 Oh, baby.
Speaker 88 I just made it under the.
Speaker 34 And if if I would have gone with Colts, it would have been six and a half, which would have been 13 for me.
Speaker 26 So
Speaker 74 that was good.
Speaker 55 That worked out well for me.
Speaker 87 Let's go, Rams.
Speaker 14 And the Jets are laying a point and a half to Cleveland.
Speaker 5 That makes sense. Why did I pick the Browns? I'm trying to see.
Speaker 42 Now you're rooting for the Browns. I mean, this is.
Speaker 78 The Browns are laying the point and a half section.
Speaker 48 Sometimes, Ceci, I feel like,
Speaker 9 because you don't want the Browns to win, right?
Speaker 53 Or do you?
Speaker 53 Like, we're in tank mode. We're in double tank mode, aren't we?
Speaker 5 Right. So then I can't, then I, I come out of the, out of Sunday with one vague victory, which is either they're in pole position for a top draft pick or I won my lock.
Speaker 5 And when you breed for these teams,
Speaker 5 you got to search.
Speaker 91 It's kind of a, yeah.
Speaker 65 Yeah. Okay.
Speaker 42 There you go. The week.
Speaker 78 Connor locked. Did you mention the Ravens are four and a half point favorites over the Vikings? So Connor barely snuck in as well.
Speaker 83 Classic, Connor.
Speaker 57
That's the sweet spot. I really like, there's nothing better than the high of coming right in under that five.
It's the best.
Speaker 5 Connor, everything's like an hour on DraftKings before the show.
Speaker 52 Connor, everything's coming up ore in this part of the show, and yet you just have this angry edge to you still.
Speaker 1 I just,
Speaker 52 everything's coming up.
Speaker 64 Maybe that's why everything's coming up ore.
Speaker 14 You have this killer instinct that Mark, Justin, and myself need to get up to that level.
Speaker 20 We got to get angry, too.
Speaker 84 Correct.
Speaker 57 I think that's it. I think if I feel like if I slip up just one little bit, all of a sudden I got Graver not only telling me what to do in the quad box, but getting close to me in the
Speaker 57 standings here.
Speaker 42 Yeah.
Speaker 44 GC, GC. All right.
Speaker 14 Remember, all the games we just previewed will be recapped on Sunday night.
Speaker 49 And if you want to know the breakdown of who's watching what, head over to the Patreon, and you not only will find out the draft of these games, you might even get some bars from Justin Graver, aka
Speaker 3 Legend.
Speaker 67 Lost it for a second, got it back.
Speaker 46 Do you have a verse set up for this episode this week, too?
Speaker 32 Are you writing one every week? We didn't talk about this.
Speaker 78 No, that was no, I haven't been.
Speaker 42 Okay. Do we want
Speaker 14 Legend to run back his verse?
Speaker 5 I think it's like when you discover one of your favorite songs or performances, you got to give it a second play.
Speaker 86 Sign up for Patreon.
Speaker 14 Go over to the draft, released Friday mornings, and you'll hear Justin leading off with
Speaker 40 his hit rap song.
Speaker 40 What's it called?
Speaker 31 A pick gear pick, I guess.
Speaker 78 That seems good, right?
Speaker 5 Still workshopping the name.
Speaker 78 Hadn't thought about the name.
Speaker 31 All right.
Speaker 16 Until Sunday night, do what you must.
Speaker 13 Heed the call.
