Speaker 3 Barack Obama hit the campaign trail in Virginia, pushing for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger and standing on the same stage as scandal-plagued A.G. nominee Jay Jones.

Speaker 5 With election day just hours away, President Obama stumped alongside Jones, who made headlines over resurfaced text messages in which he advocated for the assassination of then-state House Speaker Todd Gilbert, a Republican.

Speaker 5 Jones also suggested that Gilbert and his wife should have to watch one of their young children die.

Speaker 5 The former president spoke largely on Spanberger's behalf, claiming that she would faithfully represent all of Virginia and arguing that she would engage in civil discourse without name-calling or demonization.

Speaker 5 Something Republicans said was ironic.

Speaker 6 Abigail doesn't just believe in working with everybody. She also believes, and this is really important, in listening to everybody, whether they voted for or not.

Speaker 6 Because she knows that if we want to make progress on the things that we care about, we have to be able to disagree without calling each other nasty names or demonizing each other.

Speaker 4 President Trump says the ICE raids carried out by his administration have not gone far enough because they've been hampered by liberal judges.

Speaker 4 Speaking to 60 Minutes in an interview that aired Sunday, Trump was asked by CBS's Nora O'Donnell about accusations of ICE tear gassing neighborhoods and similar tactics.

Speaker 7 Have some of these raids gone too far?

Speaker 8 No, I think they haven't gone far enough because we've been held back by the judges, by the the liberal judges that were put in by Biden and by Obama.

Speaker 7 You're okay with those tactics.

Speaker 8 Yeah, because you have to get the people out. You know, you have to look at the people.
Many of them are murderers.

Speaker 8 Many of them are people that were thrown out of their countries because they were, you know, criminals.

Speaker 3 During that same interview, Trump had some choice words for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Speaker 7 On Venezuela in particular, are Maduro's days as president numbered?

Speaker 8 I would say, yeah, I think so, yeah.

Speaker 3 But asked about reports that he had looked looked at land targets in Venezuela to strike as part of his efforts to crack down on drug trafficking, the president had this to say.

Speaker 8 I'm not saying it's true or untrue, but I, you know, I wouldn't I wouldn't be inclined to say that I would do that, but because I don't talk to a reporter about whether or not I'm going to strike.

Speaker 8 I'm not going to, you know, you're a wonderful reporter. You're very talented.
But I'm not going to tell you what I'm going to do with Venezuela if I was going to do it or if I wasn't going to do it.

Speaker 4 Border Patrol agents arrested a man for allegedly assaulting an agent after a traffic accident in a suburb of Chicago

Speaker 4 Digital Wire immigration reporter Jenny Terra has the story.

Speaker 11 Agents were attempting a U-turn when their vehicle was struck. According to authorities, the suspect had aggressively tailgated the Border Patrol vehicle before smashing into it and causing the wreck.

Speaker 11 The accident drew a hostile crowd that yelled obscenities at Border Patrol agents. After the accident, the suspect allegedly assaulted an agent by grabbing his genitals.

Speaker 11 DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement that, quote, the agent delivered several defensive strikes to the agitator to free his genitals from the agitator's vice.

Speaker 11 According to law enforcement, agents made one or two other arrests as members of the crowd attempted to interfere.

Speaker 3 A man has been charged in connection with the mass stabbing that occurred aboard a British train on Saturday. Daily Wire reporter Amanda Press Tijacomo has more.

Speaker 10 11 people were injured, including nine who were treated for life-threatening injuries, and one person remains in critical condition.

Speaker 10 The most severely injured individual from the train attack is a train staff member who reportedly ran toward the suspect and attempted to subdue him while other passengers fled.

Speaker 10 The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Anthony Williams. He says that he has no current home address.

Speaker 10 Williams is also suspected in connection with three other violent attacks that occurred in the preceding 24-hour period in Peterborough, England.

Speaker 10 Surveillance video from Friday night shows Williams drinking from what appears to be a flask before he storms into a Peterborough barbershop with a knife.

Speaker 10 The barbershop reported a second incident with the same individual on Saturday morning.

Speaker 10 A third incident, possibly linked to Williams as well, is the stabbing of a 14-year-old in downtown Peterborough on Friday evening.

Speaker 10 The child was hospitalized with minor injuries, and no arrests have been made. Authorities say there is no clear motive for the string of violence at this time.

Speaker 4 As the government shutdown approaches a record-breaking length, Democrats are urging President Trump to return to the negotiating table.

Speaker 4 Daily Wire congressional reporter Amber Joe Cooper has the latest.

Speaker 12 Senator Mark Warner, a Democrat from Virginia, said on Face the Nation that lawmakers have reached an impasse and that ending the shutdown will require the active intervention of the president.

Speaker 12 With the shutdown now extending into November, attention has turned to food stamps or SNAP benefits, which affect 42 million Americans.

Speaker 12 The Department of Agriculture announced this morning that it will tap into an emergency reserve fund to cover, quote, 50% of eligible households' current allotments under the SNAP program.

Speaker 12 The program would cost roughly $9 billion to fund fully for the month. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessett addressed SNAP funding with Jake Taffer on CNN this weekend.

Speaker 13 The best way for SNAP benefits to get paid is for Democrats, five Democrats to cross the aisle and reopen the government.

Speaker 12 Senator John Fetterman, one of the dissenting voices on the Democrat side, urged his party to concede on the the shutdown demands in order to get food assistance funded.

Speaker 14 I feel like the Democrats really need to own the shutdown. I mean, we're shutting it down.
I know why they claim because they want to address the tax credits.

Speaker 14 I do believe we can achieve these kinds of tax credits. And this is something I support, but it's the wrong tactic.

Speaker 12 The president has stated that he would only entertain a negotiation on health care once the shutdown is ended.

Speaker 3 Hamas has returned the remains of three additional hostages to Israel, as the tenuous ceasefire holds. Forensic experts in Israel will examine the remains.

Speaker 3 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted yesterday that pockets of Hamas are still present in Israel-controlled areas of Gaza and they will be, quote, eliminated.

Speaker 4 Energy Secretary Chris Wright has confirmed that upcoming U.S. nuclear weapons testing will not involve actual nuclear explosions.

Speaker 4 President Trump drew attention last week when he announced plans to resume the tests. following reports of recent weapon systems tests in Russia and China.

Speaker 7 Are you saying that after more than 30 years, the United States is going to start detonating nuclear weapons?

Speaker 8 I'm saying that we're going to test nuclear weapons like other countries do, yes.

Speaker 8 And China's testing them too. You just don't know about it.

Speaker 4 Secretary Wright, whose jurisdiction the testing falls under, says that the upcoming tests will focus on non-explosive components of the weapons to assess their reliability and functionality.

Speaker 4 He emphasized that the goal is to ensure the integrity of the U.S. nuclear arsenal, much of which has been in storage for decades, without conducting full-scale detonations.

Speaker 3 The FBI thwarted a potential Halloween terror attack in Michigan and is now revealing more details. Daily Wire senior editor Joel Niedler has the latest.

Speaker 15 Director Cash Patel mentioned the near attack late last week, which Fox News reports was tied to ISIS.

Speaker 15 Law enforcement has arrested two males and three others have been questioned, all of them between the ages of 16 and 20. This alleged plot was apparently uncovered because of online chat rooms.

Speaker 15 It's unclear how concrete the attack plans were at the time, though the suspects apparently made some cryptic references to Pumpkin Day.

Speaker 15 Law enforcement officials told CBS News that the potential attack was inspired by a former member of the Michigan Army National Guard.

Speaker 15 The guardsman was arrested in May for allegedly planning an ISIS-inspired attack against a military base in Detroit.

Speaker 15 No charges have been filed yet, but FBI agents have reportedly searched several houses in Dearborn, Michigan and a storage facility in nearby Inkster.

Speaker 4 An explosion occurred in a Harvard Medical School building this weekend, and officials say it was intentional. An officer saw two men running from the Goldenson building around 3 a.m.

Speaker 4 on Saturday, but was unable to detain them. The arson unit of the Boston Fire Department later determined that the explosion was intentional.

Speaker 4 Sweeps of the building found no additional explosive devices. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and there was no structural damage to the building, labs, or equipment.
Both suspects are still on the run.

Speaker 3 A mom in Mississippi says she gunned down one of the aggressive monkeys that had escaped a truck that crashed while transporting them.

Speaker 3 Jessica Bond Ferguson says she acted on instinct to protect her five children after spotting the animal near her home in Heidelberg.

Speaker 3 Officials say the animals, which were carrying several diseases, weren't infectious but could be aggressive. Ferguson told the AP, quote, I did what any mother would do.
