Elon Musk: Public Enemy #1

Elon Musk: Public Enemy #1

March 21, 2025 34m

The strategy of "just hate Trump" went kaput for Democrats last November. So what's their new electoral strategy? No matter the state, no matter the race, their new strategy is to  hate on Elon Musk. Charlie explores this dimension of left-wing psychology and whether it could work. Sen. Mike Lee explains his bill to curb the plague of nationwide judicial injunctions.

In 1957, Ayn Rand published her greatest work, Atlas shrugged.

Ayn Rand was a Soviet expat, a dissident.

She understood collectivism rather well. I encourage you guys to read Atlas Shrugged.
It's not easy reading. It is very, very well written and thoughtfully put together.
It is a novel. There's plenty of things that are goofy about the book, the overindulgence in the material and the flesh, the lack of a belief in the eternal and the divine, the worship of, let's just say, immediate gratification.

However, despite the fact that we do not agree with all of her views, she was an atheist after all, and a much more libertarian fundamentalist than we are.

She was a supremely gifted writer and understood the left-wing mind better than almost any other author of the last 100 years. In the book Atlas Shrugged, it's a dystopian novel, and it paints a picture of what happens when a government is built on envy and resentment and collectivism.
In the book Atlas shrugrugged, it talks about what happens when there's Burdesen laws and regulations, and when you're able to find a singular person that you can pin all of your problems against. The best characters in Rand's books are actually the villains.
They are the perfect image of left-wing bureaucrats, academics, and parasites. People who can't build, but they try to gain mastery over those who do.
In the book Atlas Shrugged, there is a quiet character who really does not emerge up until about two-thirds of the way through, and that is a guy by the name of John Galt. John Galt was an innovator.
He's a builder. He did stuff.
A risk taker. John Galt used his reason.
He was non-ideological. He was a threat to the regime.
John Galt famously gave his Galt's Galt speech, which goes on for like 55 pages, which really is Ayn Rand's personal philosophy. We have our own John Galt right now in America.
Someone who was once celebrated by pop culture, someone who was once celebrated by mass media. And what Ayn Rand beautifully was able to put together in Atlas Shrugged is how a society turns on its innovators.
Elon Musk was once admired broadly, especially by progressives, for his work with Tesla and SolarCity. Elon Musk was heralded as the innovator that will bring forward great new accomplishments.
The future will be delivered by people like Elon Musk. But Musk's trajectory is eerily similar to that of John Galt in many ways.
He went from an innovator to an enemy. Just like John Galt, Musk, of course, was wildly heralded.
But when his ideals began clashing with

collections, John Galt, Musk, of course, was wildly heralded. But when his ideals began clashing with collectivist or progressive expectations, that admiration turned into animosity.
Elon Musk figured out how to build in California. He is a genius.
Elon Musk went and rescued those two astronauts this week. And did you notice the media barely even whispered a mention or a thank you? Elon Musk saved lives.
He is the super genius of our time. From driverless cars to artificial intelligence to Neuralink to the Boring, to SpaceX.
And I will go to college campuses and

I will have these kids who hate Elon Musk, who have never paid rent, let alone built a company, have the audacity and the brazen attitude to attack Elon. And this is the kicker, everybody, is that you are seeing the beginnings of a left-wing communist movement that is beginning to bubble up and get to the surface.

Now, we're a long way away from any elections, but never underestimate a political movement built on envy.

Envy, jealousy, was responsible for the first murder of the Bible when Cain killed Abel. God liked one sacrifice, spent another.
Boom, envy, murder. Envy, wanting something.
That's why David sent Uriah to the front lines. Boom, I want to Bathsheba.
It's a tale as old as time, and a political movement that is built on taking other people's stuff is very dangerous, everybody. Last evening, Bernie Sanders did an event in downtown Tempe, if you guys can get the picture.
Tempe, Arizona, Arizona State University. He drew a crowd between 13 to 15,000 people.
Now, of course, it's on a college campus. It's fun to now be resistant against Trump.
It's all of that. We're a ways out from an election.
Does it bother me or worry me? No, but it certainly draws my attention. Oh, is that AOC in the mom jeans now? can't quite see that.
But no, get the whole crowd. It's worthy of recognition.
It's worthy of noticing. Because what is Bernie Sanders' main argument? I am going to take from the innovator.
I am going to take from the producer. I am going to steal from Elon Musk.
And what has Bernie Sanders ever built? It's a pretty sizable crowd. There you go on screen.
What we are seeing is the beginning of the tension of what Ayn Rand predicted, because she understood the psychology of resentment, envy, and greed. And Elon Musk is not greedy whatsoever.
He's the one dedicating his time and his treasure back to the country. But if you want to know where the left is going next, this is a little bit of an indicator, a little bit of a harbinger of things to come.
And what is the Democrat strategy for elections this year? It's not Trump, Trump, Trump. It's Musk, Musk, Musk, because Elon Musk allows them an opportunity to make an argument that Trump did not.
It's all about fighting the oligarchy, Bernie Sanders says. It doesn't matter what the race is.
It doesn't matter where they are.

They think that they're going to be able to position themselves as we need to go after the

productive and everybody that will be the downfall of civilization. Now, I don't want to make, you

know, too hyperbolic language. We control the White House.
They do not. We control the Senate.

We control the House. I think everything's just going to be fine, but you must always keep

your eyes on the horizon of what is coming next. And that, my friends, is a very serious crowd.
That did not just come out ex nihilo, though. If the Democrats would have been smart in 2024, that's the election they would have run.
But instead, they ran Kamala Harris, and we thank them greatly for that contribution to the republic.

The Democrat base and the Democrat party is going to be one that will be based on the message of we're going to take from the person who lands rockets from space. We're going to take from the person who rescues the astronauts.
We are going to take from the people that make the world spin. And in the book Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand spoke about how society was falling apart without the innovator, without the entrepreneur.
These are the risk takers, the pioneers and the innovators. And if you are suffering out there right now, let me tell you, you are not suffering just because Elon Musk is wealthy.
This is pure spite that is driving the American left. They want to bankrupt Tesla, one of the only successful manufacturing enterprises started in the last half century in America.
These are people that could never build something themselves. Put up AOC and Bernie Sanders on screen.
You can't even say that they've built beautiful, functioning families. All that they have been able to build is foment a mob to go try and storm the Bastille to take what other people have earned.
And as we try to anticipate what is coming next, be ready because the communists are ready to storm the gate. They want to take the Bastille and the Bolsheviks are ascendant in the Democrat Party.
And Elon has created in his life. The Bolsheviks have never created anything except a long list of complaints and narratives of how they're victims for no good reason.
The world is waking up to the power of gold. National banks are scrambling to secure it.
According to the World Gold Council, central banks added 1,000 tons of gold in 2024, the third straight year of net gold buying. They understand what many investors don't.
Gold is real money. Unlike paper currency, gold's value doesn't disappear with inflation, reckless government spending, or market crashes.
Now, Noble Gold Investments makes it easy for you to claim your share. As our new administration works to reverse the economic chaos of the past, market swings are inevitable.

Shouldn't you be looking into doing that too? A remarkable new study is out that shows that 20-year-old white men are more right-wing than 75-year-old white men. And I've been saying this on this program for quite some time.
Now, I know I'm about to get a bunch of angry emails from folks that are 75-year-old white men.

No, I'm just as conservative.

You are the exception, not the rule.

But I completely believe this.

And it doesn't include the audience.

But of course this is true.

And by the way, this at all, it shouldn't make you angry.

This should actually make you very happy.

This is actually a phenomenal sign of hope for you.

20-year-old white men are more right-wing than 75-year-old white men. And traditionally, the idea is the Republican Party is just a bunch of old white men.
Well, now the Republican Party is young and old white men and blacks and Hispanics. The one demographic, however, that is a big, big, big issue is college educated women it's a it's a major problem beyond anything that is really easy to explain on this program I do want to play the Steve Kornacki clip however Andrew's right this is a great example now I'm very pro-life you know that and you don't have to even agree with my abortion stances in this clip.
But what is important is to look into the mentality and into the window of the tenacity of your average left-leaning liberal Democrat activist on campus. So this is 289.
By the way, this clip is going very bonkers from the University of Tennessee. This right here is the divide in America, not even about abortion.
It's not the topic is abortion, but just look at how she processes information. Before I play the piece of tape, let me prove this point further.
In male self-help books, you will find words such as must and ought and should. In male self-help books, it tells men that you need to go do something and you ought to go act.
Get off your tail and be better. In women self-help books, it is you deserve.
You should get. The Western women, the Western female self-help worldview is incredibly narcissistic.

It's incredibly self-help worldview is incredibly narcissistic.

It's incredibly self-centered.

It's not about duty or obligation.

This is the furthest extrapolation of feminism.

Here's 289.

If I just happen to be pregnant.

Oh, you don't happen to get pregnant.

It's like not like getting COVID.

I know how it works.

I know how it works.

You don't get the flu.

I know. How about this? You take responsibility for your orgasms and stop eliminating people smaller than you.
So you're saying I should carry a baby and ruin my collegiate life. How about this? Instead of saying ruin.
First of all, babies are a blessing. Stop talking at them as if they're some sort of annoyance.
I will have to drop out of college. Number two, if you play certain games, you win certain prizes.
If you're going to go have sex. So you're saying I should drop out of college to support my child.
I'm supporting my life. I'm saying if you're going to engage in coitus, in the practice of having children, you might end up with a baby.
So know that. And guess what? You don't need to have sex before you get married.
It's not like showering. It's not like eating.
Are you married? Yes, with two beautiful children. Wow.
Good for you. I could tell you're not married.
Yeah. If you see why are young men gravitating towards conservatism? Because it's about responsibility, about order, about duty, about reason.
Why are young women gravitating towards the Democrat party? Because many of them are like her. What do you mean? Are you going to tell me that I might have to drop out of college? Essentially, I don't want to take any responsibility for my actions.
And again, it's not even about the abortion thing. It's just, it's actually much more psychologically interesting and deeper than that.
That's just a manifestation of a deeper political problem, which is that I don't want to have to grow up.

I want to remain in charge of everything all the time and do what feels good, not what I ought to do. You see, men are gravitating towards this idea of duty.

Young ladies are gravitating towards this idea of license and licentiousness.

And in that video, I sensed emptiness in her.

And I do have compassion for her. And that is why young women increasingly are incredibly suicidal, incredibly depressed, incredibly drug addicted, far more likely to be on antidepressants because that leads you into a very sad, vacuous existence.
And that's what liberalism does. Liberalism at its furthest extrapolation is a cultural suicide cult.
With President Trump making massive strides in his first month in office, alone to deliver on campaign promises to make America great again, it's clear his administration is committed to driving down costs and unleashing prosperity across our country. But Big Pharma is standing in the way.
They've raised prices on over 575 brand name drugs in January alone, blocked competition and spent millions pushing overpriced meds on hardworking Americans. Now they're pressuring Congress to implement mandates that will undermine the one real check against drug companies and ban the very market-based incentives that help employers and families save on prescriptions and health care costs.
Even worse, Big Pharma wants to strip American employers of the freedom to choose health benefits that work best for them. Their proposals could hand Big Pharma a $32 billion money grab at the expense of American employers and families.
Conservatives for lower health care costs warns that Big Pharma isn't on our side. They fought against solutions to lower drug prices during Trump's first term, opposed Bobby Kennedy's nomination to HHS to make America healthy again, and now they want even more government control over the private health care market, interfering with President Trump's promise to cut prescription drug costs.
Big Pharma is no friend of the American people. Go to pharmawindfall.com to demand fair health care practices, protect the private market,

and fight Big Pharma's greed. Congress can put a stop to this.
You can make a difference.

Joining us now is Senator Mike Lee from the great state of Utah. Senator, thank you so much for taking the time.
Thank you for having me. Senator, what do you make of this rise of left-wing terrorism targeted at Tesla and Elon Musk? My fear, Senator, and I hope I'm wrong, and let's stay in prayer that I'm wrong, that someone is going to get shot the same way that Steve Scalise got shot and, God forbid, killed.
The left is creating a pressure cooker with so many of their rank and fire paramilitary troops that very well might result in one of us getting shot or killed. God forbid that happens.
We're getting death threats every single day here on the Charlie Kirk Show. Senator Mike Lee, your thoughts? This is what domestic terrorism does.
This is what domestic terrorism looks like. They very much want people to be in fear.
That's why they do it. They understand that people understand that there is a risk of bodily harm or even death in these kinds of circumstances.
And that's designed to induce fear. One of the many problems with this is that these folks apparently feel at liberty to do this.
They've been trained by the radical left to think that there will be no consequence to them for doing this, that they'll be applauded, that they'll be rewarded. This isn't going to end well for them, and it's not going to end well for the country.
It's got to come to a stop. One of the things that is missing in all of this, we haven't seen politicians on the left, elected office holders in the Democratic Party, in any significant numbers coming out and saying, stop this madness, end this, stop the death threats, stop the painting of the swastikas, the vandalism, all forms of violence, knock it off.
You've seen that almost not at all. Representative Ro Khanna is one of the few who has come out to do it.
And I, I invite, uh, all other Democrats to join him. There's no good reason for them not to, and they must.
We have a piece of tape here, I believe in our library. I'm trying to find it.
Jimmy Kimmel, who's supposed to be a funny man. He, he, he read on a script, you know, stop burning Teslas, but obviously did it as a joke and did it as a way to try to, of course, encourage his audience to burn more Teslas as he did it with a little bit of a smirk.
Trying to find the piece of tape here. We have so much tape.
It's 195. Thank you, Ryan.
Let's play cut 195, please. And he fired them immediately upon landing.
Tesla stock is way down, almost disastrously. So people have been vandalizing Tesla vehicles, new Tesla vehicles.
Please don't vandalize. Don't ever vandalize Tesla vehicles.
And so Elon Musk has been making the rounds in the right wing media.

Senator, your reaction? This isn't funny. It's not cute.
It shouldn't be allowed on public airwaves. And I'm frankly stunned that his network hasn't called him out on it, hasn't apologized, hasn't taken some action against him for doing this.
This is disgraceful. grace, regardless of what your political views are as an American, you should be able to look at this objectively and say, you know, violence and acts of vandalism aren't a good thing.
And if you're going to comment on that, either say something that's actually funny, which this wasn't, or ideally pair it with something suggesting that people not do it.

Instead, he did the opposite. That is shameful.
And yet Disney is not going to have a single advertiser drop, not a single advertiser say, you know, I don't know, that might go a little bit too far. Let's continue here.
This is Tim Waltz, a sitting governor of a state, cheering on the downfall of an American manufacturing public company. Tim Walz is cheering for people to lose their jobs.
These people are arsonists, and Tim Walz knows something about arson because his creepy wife enjoyed the smell of arson during Floydapalooza. Real thing.
Play cut 196. I on my phone, I don't know, some of you know this on the iPhone, they've got that little stock app.
I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day. 225 and dropping.
So, and if you own one, if you own one, we're not blaming you. You can take dental floss and pull the Tesla thing off, you know, and take out just telling you.
Senator, the approach from the left seems to be all out maximalist cultural terrorism intimidation. Are any of your colleagues on the Senate, I mean, you guys have good relationships with Dems.
What are they saying when you confront them in the hall? Like, hey, can you speak out against this? They haven't been inclined to talk about it. And then when Democratic politicians do talk about it, they at least don't denounce it.
Take this comment from Tim Walsh, for example. There's nothing wrong.
If that's his thing, to monitor the stocks of this or that company and figure out what kind of stock prices make him happy and make him sad, if he wants to celebrate when some company's stock value goes down, it's up to him. It's weird here, even that his own state retirement fund is pretty heavily invested in Tesla, as I understand it.
So he's celebrating the diminution in value of his own state workers, his own state retirees' retirement benefits. That's kind of weird.
But what's doubly weird and concerning is that if he's going to bring up Tesla at all, why wouldn't he take that opportunity to say, by the way, regardless of whether you want to celebrate when Tesla's stock price goes down, knock it off with the violence? He didn't do that. There's a reason he didn't do that.
And I fear what it means for the future of our country. And Democrats should fear what that means for the future of the Democratic Party.
So let's I now want your thoughts here, Senator, on the nationwide injunction crisis. Is there anything Congress will do to slow down this disturbing trend? Look, there are things that can be done.
I'll be introducing legislation next week that would require a separate procedure to be followed for this type of injunction. When I mean this type of injunction, I mean a type of injunction that has nationwide applicability within the U.S.
government and is focused on a presidential policy decision. those should have to go rather than being considered by a single federal district judge.
They should have to go before a three-judge district court panel. This is a procedure that's utilized in some limited cases, most of them dealing with the apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives or the drawing of federal legislative boundaries.
But we could add this to the list, and that's what my legislation would do, make it infinitely more difficult to game the system, to judge shop, to file the case in a place that suggests from the outset you'll get a very favorable audience from a leftist judge. And then just as importantly, anytime you've got a three-judge district court panel, you've got an immediate automatic appeal to the U.S.
Supreme Court, not the opportunity to seek certiorari or discretionary review from the Supreme Court, which is how it usually works there, but rather a direct appeal, meaning the Supreme Court has to review it, or if it chooses not to, it's still setting precedent. This would expedite the process, diminish the amount of time that these leftist activist judges could tie up the Trump administration in these legal proceedings, and it would also dramatically impair the ability of the plaintiffs to judge

Shupp so as to rig the system in their favor. So in closing here, Senator, it seems as if

that this new pattern of nationwide injunctions is the norm, not the exception. The Supreme Court

has to meet and they have to try to reconcile this for the good of the country and the republic. I suppose the question I have here is, as someone yourself who really cares about the law and the application of it, at what point do you think it's ever appropriate for President Trump to ignore a district court decision if it involved foreign policy? Is there ever a threshold where that must happen if the injunctions continue out of control? Yeah, this is maybe roughly analogous to the fact that there are circumstances in which a direct order from someone in your chain of command at the military isn't something that you follow.
I don't know that the parallel works exactly, but yeah, there are theoretical limits beyond which a chief executive might deem it appropriate not to follow something. It's got to be a matter of individual discretion.
In the circumstance that we saw last week, the thing that the court was trying to stop had already happened. That was already underway.
So that's a different set of circumstances than what you were describing. The rule of law is important.
And so normally one follows orders. It would be extreme, extreme unusual exception were something like that to exist.
But I don't think anyone doubts that there are limits to that. Senator, thank you so much for your leadership.
I hope we can rein in this black robe tyranny that we are living under. Thanks so much.

I need to now play this piece of tape from the data guy, Steve Kornacki at MSNBC, where he's analyzing the only group that is supporting DEI. The only group is white women with college degrees.
I do not know how to solve this problem. I am open to suggestions.
But white women with college degrees are so infected. I also bet they tend to be a little bit more secular, a little less serious about their faith.
It can take time. Many people have come around, but the data is the data.
You have to look at this. It is chilling stuff.
And I always wonder, where are they getting their news and information from? It's not CNN. Their ratings aren't high enough.

Maybe it's eat, pray, love type podcasting.

Maybe they're watching Love is Blind. Maybe that's where they get their information from.
Like Daisy. Play cut 205.
To see this white women with at least a college degree, the only group of white voters that really kind of is on the left politically, aligned with progressive causes, democratic politics. Give you an example here.
It's that DEI question, excuse me, right here that we asked about in our poll. We had two big statements we read to voters.
Basically, do you want to continue DEI programs or do you think they should be ended? And again,

look at this divide here. White men, no degree, end it.
White men with a degree, end it, they say. White women, no degree, end it, they say, by double digits.
And then white women with a college degree, completely different by a nearly 40-point margin, they say, to continue DEI. The emphasis should be on the college degree.

Now, interestingly, college degrees don't infect college young men or men as much as young women. White college indoctrinated women will ruin America if we let them.
They are brainwashed. They are completely indoctrinated.
I see it every single day. And again, the worldview that is being uploaded to young women on a daily basis is hyper narcissistic, hyper selfish.
I am the only one that matters. Who are you to tell me how I should act? And it makes them miserable.
Women are norms enforcers. It's biology.
Women are not technically or traditionally very strong individually. They are more likely to follow societal norms and customs and narratives.
And the ones we have are poisonous. Let me say that again.
Women are less likely to defy authority. They're less likely to challenge authority.
They're more likely to wear the mask and get nine booster shots. And so when societal norms are terrible, they follow them and they follow the crowd.
That is what women do. Thankfully, though, broadly, the country thinks poorly of the Democrat Party.
A death blow clip. Cut to 10, Steve Kornacki.
We found something we've never found before in more than 30 years of this poll. What you're looking at here is the image of each political party, the Democrats and the Republicans.
And look at this, this blue, it's the Democrats, minus 28, it says. What does that mean? It means that when we ask this, do you have a positive or negative view of the party? Just 27% of voters say they have a positive image of the Democratic Party.

55% say they think of the Democratic Party negatively. That's negative 28 points.
This is the trend line. Going back 30 years, you could see neither party has ever come anywhere near as close to this.
It's fallen off a cliff that number has for Democrats since the election. Building a political party around toxic femininity and shrill hall monitor enforcement turns out to be broadly very unpopular with the American people.
The Democrat Party seems uninterested in adjusting itself, uninterested in modernizing. Here's Jamal Bowman, 356.
That's not true. And this shows, again, the American people do not trust Elon Musk.
And Elon Musk is incompetent in his position. And how do we know? Because they fired tens of thousands of people.
It was challenged in court. The court said the people have to go back.
And now the people are coming back. He's incompetent.
He's a thief. He's a Nazi.
And people don't trust him. Let me just doesn't have a fire alarm to go pull.
And I think I heard a smoke detector. You see, Jamal Bowman is the worst of all of the Democrats.
He is not very bright, incredibly hostile and aggressive, and that's who they want to build their party around. That incompetent Nazi, as you'd put it, Jamal Bowman, just rescued astronauts.
What have you ever built in your life? And that is the Democrat Party. They're angry, bitter, spiteful.

Thanks so much for listening, everybody. Email us as always, freedom at charliekirk.com.

Thanks so much for listening and God bless.
