Day 239: The Annunciation and the Visitation
Fr. Mark-Mary invites us to dive deeper into our meditation while we pray with the Annunciation and the Visitation. As we revisit these familiar moments, we’re invited to take a new angle each time, meditating on different details, characters, or movements of the Spirit. Whether it’s Mary’s yes, the angel’s greeting, or Elizabeth’s joyful welcome, each prayer opens the door to new graces. We deepen our rhythm of prayer, asking God to help us fall in love with these mysteries all over again. Today’s focus is the mysteries of the Annunciation and the Visitation and we will be praying two decades of the Rosary.

Hi, I'm Father Mark Mary with Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, and this is the Rosary in the Year podcast, where through prayer and meditation, the Rosary brings us deeper into relationship with Jesus and Mary and becomes a source of grace for the whole world.

Today we will be praying with the
first two joyful mysteries, the Annunciation and the Visitation.
And as we go through them and continue to build up the decades, my encouragement while we're in this phase of kind of like training and practicing is to try and pick a different point of focus or meditation each time that we're going through these mysteries.
In my own years of praying the Rosary, I find that I tend to kind of connect and maybe latch on to like a particular emphasis in the mysteries.
But I would say that, like, part of the richness of this experience and doing this with you has been coming to the different mysteries from all these different directions.
And so, my hope and my encouragement is that as we really intentionally pray with these mysteries from different perspectives and with different focuses, is that this will continue to enrich our prayer as we go on really praying the rosary for the rest of our lives.
So, I'll just encourage you to take a moment to find that place of focus and meditation
to ask the Lord to lead you.
And then we'll begin to pray in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
The first joyful mystery is the Annunciation.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
