God bless football, Mikey A. God bless football, Fuentes.
God bless football, Billy Gill. Hey, thank you guys.
Stu Gatz is on assignment. He'll be joining us probably never.
So we'll talk to him soon. We'll see how that goes exactly.
We have an exciting show today. Was my energy better on that one, Mikey? It was so much better.
Like, I'm ready to go now. I faked it.
You got stuff. That's okay.
Okay to fake it. Well, there's been a lot of mishaps this morning in the Gill household that I was telling Mikey about involving dogs and humans and just vomit and fevers and what have you but hey you don't care about me or my life so we're here to talk about some football we have some segments that uh what's that mikey i just said football because you said football okay by the way godless football is presented by draft kings the crown is yours so i have a segment that I want to debut today.
And it is called, because it's this time of year, it's a very special time of year. I know that you guys right now are probably, you know, knee deep in brackets and March Madness and college basketball.
So we appreciate you guys coming and joining us on God Bless Football. I have a game that's called God Bless Football's Bracket Bonanza.
I love a good bonanza. Yeah, it's a bracket bonanza.
We're going to be playing GBS inaugural Bracket Bonanza next segment. So we're not going to get to Bracket Bonanza this segment.
We're going to get to it next segment. We also have a game called Will It Pass, which could be about anything.
And a new round of more Mikely. So fun show today.
I want to start things off, though, as we do every week, with our favorite game called Here's a Headline. So for those of you who are new to the program, this is how Here's a Headline works.
I will say Here's's a headline, and then I will give you a headline, and then I will discuss, and Mike Yeh will discuss, and Mike Fuentes will discuss. Stu Gatz, when he joins us, he will discuss.
Mike Yeh will say, here's a headline, and then he will give a headline, and then we will go around and around until we've filled out enough time for the first segment to be over. And that's how Here's a Headline works right here's a headline okay ready i didn't ask you ready ready ready i am ready here's a headline the vikings have said you know what i think we're gonna i think we're gonna see this through with jj mccarthy at least through spring practice and then we'll reassess the quarterback situation and decide whether or not we need to make a move and whether or not we're interested in Aaron Rogers, which is an interesting decision.
And it now kind of puts everybody in a predicament because Aaron Rogers has said that his preference is to go to Minnesota and that if he didn't go there, he might retire or he might go to Pittsburgh or he might go to New York. And we're trying to figure that out.
But in the meantime, the Steelers have just been waiting to see what it is that Aaron Rodgers does. The Giants have been waiting to see what it is that Aaron Rodgers does.
The Giants might trade up to get the number one pick in the draft and draft Cam Ward. So they don't know what they're going to do at the quarterback position.
And right now, it seems like the Vikings are calling all the shots and they've decided we're going to kind of put everyone on hold right now while we figure out whether or not we like J.J. McCarthy, who was our first round draft pick last season and then got injured and we didn't know what to do with him.
So we signed Sam Darnold, which he had already been signed, but he was a backup.
He became their starter.
They lost him to the Seahawks. So if you've been living under a rock, now you kind of know what's been going on football in Minnesota for the past year or so.
So headline. We're kind of just going to play the waiting game now with Minnesota and see what they got to do.
And Aaron Rodgers needs to maybe make a decision or maybe not. it sounds like everybody is learning what the Aaron Rodgers at the end of his Green Bay tenure was like, which is a whole lot of wishy-washy.
It's a whole lot of maybe, I don't know. We didn't get this as bad as the play was on the field.
We didn't get this with the Jets. He was always in.
He was always all in. And this is probably just as frustrating because if you're a Steelers fan right now, what are your other options? You burn the bridge with Russell Wilson.
There is no other quarterback that can possibly, possibly make you a decent contender right now. It's not.
Well, listen, Jameis with dk medcalf and and george pickens fun might be the like i would watch hard knocks every episode if they just followed them around like all i want is that so i if you're if you're a steelers fan i don't know what your other option is but to sit around and wait for a Aaron Rodgers to decide whether or not he wants to come to your point about Aaron Rodgers I don't think there's a team he's ever been more committed to than the Jets even the end of his relationship with the Jets he wanted to stay and they didn't want him which is the weirdest thing ever like Green Bay is like I don't know about Green Bay anymore I'm tired of being there Jets he loves. He really wants to go to Minnesota for some reason, but they don't really want him.
Do you even want, like, if you're the Steelers, I know this is going to sound crazy, but if you're the Steelers or the Giants, where you've basically been told, like, I don't really want to go there unless I absolutely have to. Like, is that who you want kind of in your locker room because as it is there's already all
the other stuff that comes with Aaron Rodgers where it's like is he a distraction to see this is he that and now you have an Aaron who's not necessarily even entirely committed to being there the whole time I mean you do because you don't have another option. Your other option is Mason Rudolph.
And like, you know, thanks, but I'd rather just wait this out. Yeah.
All right. Well, that was that headline.
Mikey, do you have a headline? I do. There is a certain quarterback who is flying up draft boards right now.
Mel Kuyper has Jackson Dart out of Ole Miss going 12th to the Saints. This is the highest I've seen him picked.
And I think it's absolutely bonkers for Mel to even consider the Saints taking a quarterback right now, let alone Jackson Dart, who might not be a second round pick, you know, talent wise, but they are committed next year to Derek Carr for a 69 million dollar cap hit. Like you cannot be drafting your quarterback of the future with that price tag waiting for next year.
You can't do it. Like there's no point in,
in paying and there's no getting out of the Derek car because what you kept
doing was you kept pushing the cap it and pushing the cap it until eventually
it's all going to come to a,
to a head next year with $69 million.
And I just don't see how you could take a quarterback and do anything other
than bench him for two years. Then why take it? Why not wait till next year and see what how you can take a quarterback and do anything other than bench him for two years.
Then why take it?
Why not wait till next year and see what else you can get?
How does this compare, in your opinion, to what the Falcons did last year after signing Kirk Cousins, giving him a big deal, and then drafting Michael Penix right after? So I think when they drafted Michael Penix, they knew that going into this draft class,
it was not going to be a very good... Penix right after? So I think when they drafted Michael Penix, they knew that going into this
draft class, it was not going to be a very good, it was not going to be a very good draft class. So they wanted to make sure while they had an opportunity to get a guy, they could.
They were also a little worried about Michael Penix's medicals. He had a lot of injuries in college, So they wanted him to sit and to learn a little bit.
At the end of 2026, the Falcons can get out of the Kirk Cousins business for $45 million. I realize that's still a big hit, but it's not almost $70 million.
$70 million is an entire defensive line if you play
your cards right.
I think it's a little bit
similar, but the Falcons
thought they were going to need Kirk
Cousins longer than they do.
Where do you see Shadour going?
I know that's not the game that we're playing, but Jackson Dart is flying up the boards. Where is Shadour going to go? I don't see how the Giants pass on a quarterback.
The question becomes, do the Giants move up to one for Cam Ward? I mean, I'm sure there's still some questions in Tennessee if they're going to take the quarterback. They could take Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter and be run back one year with Will Levis.
But I don't see how Shador goes past the Giants, especially if Cam Ward goes number one overall. Do we think that Will Levis is going to go on the redemption tour at some point? Like, he's not going to be the long-term solution in Tennessee.
But is he going to have, like, a Sam Darnold, Geno Smith type year somewhere? Or is a team going to convince themselves that they can do that with Will Levis and give him a shot? I don't. I mean, I don't see see it i don't see will levis having this redemption tour
because i just don't think he's that good i think he he can't get out of his own way i think will levis is much more likely to go the jamis winston tour where it's like he's gonna come he's gonna go back somebody up he's gonna come in he's gonna be like oh yeah that guy he's so good oh look what just just did never mind i feel like we laugh at jamis
winston a lot jamis winston uh so he's only 31 but i see a world in which jamis winston i mean he's been in the league already 10 years jamis winston can easily be like a 17 year nfl vet I think. Oh, yeah.
Like very very easily make no mistake about it uh the number one quarterback I wanted for the New York Jets going into this offseason was Jameis Winston that was who I wanted because I figured if we're going to be bad we might as well be entertaining and Jameis Jameis has got all the talent in the world he just has get out of his own way. Yeah.
Zach Wilson was introduced this week to the Dolphins. How'd that go? It was, you know, I think that they were expecting it to be something not the best.
Oh, by the way, also, here's a quick headline, because I think Mike Fuentes is going to get to it, but we're running out of time this segment. Here's a headline.
The Cincinnati Bengals decided to give all of their money to their two receivers. They've not learned anything, and they're going to have two receivers making $80 billion a year.
And they're going to trade their one player on defense that was worth anything because they paid their wide receivers and their quarterback all of the money. All of it.
Yeah. Well, you know what? That might come into play next segment.
We play a brand new game when we come back. Called God Bless Football's Bracket Bonanza.

So it's been a while. It's been a while since I've done that.
But it's been a while since we've introduced a new segment on this show.
We pretty much just play the same segments every week. More Mike Lee, winners and losers during the season, headlines, you know, all the segments that we do.
So I'm really excited about this, and I've been waiting to do this specifically for March Sadness just because it's bracket themed. It's called God Bless Football's Brackets Bonanza.
I'm excited. And I haven't really given you guys a ton of information on how this works just yet, but we're going to play it as a group today.
So Mikey, myself, Mike Fuentes, GQ, if he wants to play, is allowed to play as well. You're excited about this.
You have been since I saw the light bulb pop on just before we started recording, and you're like, I have an idea. Yeah, I have a good idea.
It's called God Bless Football's Brackets Bonanza, and this is how it works. And I feel like you guys are going to misunderstand how it works originally, and I'm going to have to clear things up, but I'm going to shoot straight so this is how God bless football's bracket bonanza works so because and in honor of March madness going on presently I think what we could do here today is we can construct a bracket style tournament with the AFC teams and the NFC teams and what we'll do is we're going to seed them one through seven.
The one seed will get a bye. And then we will have the five face off against the four, the six against the three, the seven against the two, and like that.
One side will be the AFC. The other side will be the NFC.
And then we're going to kind of go bracket style, have them competing against each other, and then decide an ultimate winner of God Bless Football's Brackets Bonanza. Okay? Isn't this just called the playoffs? Well, some people would say that, but this is different.
There's a very big difference, and this is why it's different. Okay? In the playoffs, there's receding.
In God Bless Football's Brackets Bonanza, there is not. Like, Not reseeding, but you realign the matchup so that the highest seed always faces the lowest seed, etc.
Not how it's going to work today. Not in Brackets Bonanza.
The one seed gets a bye, and the one seed, I hate to say it, going to play the winner of the 5-4, the winner of the 6-3 playing the 7-2, so on and so forth. What we're going to have to do here collectively, myselfa mike fuentes some people would say is this the season ended today no this is god bless football's brackets bonanza so what we're gonna have to do first is we're gonna have to see the different conferences so i would like to suggest and i don't know if you guys feel as strongly as i do but i think we should start in the afc i want to make a suggestion for the one seed and see if it's okay with you guys if that's all right all right okay I want to I want to pencil in the bills at the one seed next season I think okay next season next season okay yeah okay well well what were you thinking well I mean the Chiefs were 15 and 22 this year.
Chiefs were, but we're into next season. Yeah, we're looking ahead here.
We're looking ahead next season. Do you guys have any issues with me penciling the Bills in as a one seed? No.
Okay. So the Bills are going to get the bye in Brackets Bonanza.
Would you like to have any suggestions on seedings or anything of the like, or you want me to just suggesting and if we have any differences of opinions we'll we'll work on it i like i like the suggesting yeah i like the suggestion i mean okay i'm gonna say the chief's gotta be the two yeah mikey can have an opinion i'll just i'll just just out of respect like the chief's gotta be the two seed right well i was gonna go baltimore two seed chiefs three seed but you know no that's fine yeah we can do chiefs we'll do chiefs that's fine that's what we'll do chiefs two you want to do ravens three or do we think maybe the chargers are gonna make a run here nope i like the ravens at three ravens at three okay do we uh who do we like at four do we we have faith that the Texans will bounce back? Are the Chargers going to come up swinging? The Steelers don't have a quarterback right now. I don't know where we're going to put them.
That was going to be my question. Did they get Aaron Rodgers? Well, this isn't if the season ended today.
You you know what? I'm going off board.
I'm going off board.
Yeah.
The Bengals.
The Bengals.
I was going to say they have Joe Burrow.
I like the Bengals.
You know,
they do that.
They have two very rich receivers.
Let's go to the Bengals.
All right.
We could put the Bengals there.
I was flirting with the Bengals,
not even making the bracket,
but that's fine.
No,
because Bengals are four. See, that's fine.
The Beng Bengals, at the very least next year, they'll be fun. They'll have to score 50 to win every game, but they'll be fun.
Texans, do we see the Texans in here anywhere? I have the Texans off the board. Off the board, okay.
Their whole problem last year was they couldn't protect C.J.j stroud and then all they did was get rid of their two best linemen yeah and sign a one yeah like a one-year stop gap at left tackle so i just don't see the texans having a good year uh cj stroud is gonna is gonna develop the yips if he if he's getting hit on every play. Here's my question for Brackets Bonanza.
Do we have to have an AFC South team? No. Sure.
Why not? No. I love that.
I love that about this. I love that about this.
Then I'm going to the Chargers at five. Chargers at five.
Okay. And then we have two slots left.
You don't want anyone in the AFC South, you have said.
I kind of like the Broncos.
I like the Broncos.
And I'd probably say just because of the great unknown,
probably the Steelers.
I'm going to go off board a little bit.
I'm going to throw it.
I just want to throw it out there.
I'm not saying it should be.
I'm just throwing it out there the patriots wow okay i like the patriots in just to just because of the unknown so then do we leave out the broncos or do we leave out the uh the stealers stealers stealers broncos are in at six and then at seven we will put in the Patriots now we're going to hop over the NFC real quick before brackets bonanza really gets interesting okay so at the one seed in the NFC who are we liking uh I mean it's hard to say it's hard it's hard to go against the Eagles they they lost uh third D-tackle, their second D-tackle. They've still got a lot of draft capital.
They made some good moves. I'm going to say that.
Eagles, two seed. Can I sneak a commanders in there? I was going to say, I like the commanders.
I like it. I like it.
Okay, we're going to sneak the commanders in at the two seed. The Lions, how far will the Lions fall? I have them borderline in.
I have them as a seven. I have them as a seven.
Okay, I like that. Wow.
Okay, Lions at seven. Packers, step up this season.
Fairs. i think i have the i think i have the packers a little lie to be honest really okay where do you have the bears at three no not a three not a three you still got tampa bay and and baker mayfield will always and the vikings are still gonna be okay like i think you want to put the okay okay.
Okay. Why don't we put the Bears at five? Can I do something real quick? Everybody's so low on the Vikings, but then everybody almost hated Sam Darnold.
So now they get rid of Sam Darnold and then we hold it against the Vikings. Even though nobody thought that Sam Darnold was that great.
Right? Am I wrong? I plugged in the Bucs at three, the Bears at five. So we need a four and a six.
We still have the Rams.
We still have the Vikings.
Sam Darnold, is he going to be the answer in Seattle?
Michael Penick's going to lead the Falcons all season.
Cowboys.
San Francisco lost their entire team.
Yeah, 49ers are out of it.
Sorry, 49ers fans.
So we have two slots left, the four and the six.
What are we thinking?
Give the Rams the six.
I want the Rams in there.
I'm an LA guy.
Put the Rams in.
Thank you. Niners fans.
So we have two slots left, the four and the six. What are we thinking? Give the Rams the six.
I want the Rams in there.
I want, I'm a lot, I'm a LA guy.
Put the Rams in.
Yeah.
And then, and then I'll let Fuentes pick the NFC North team he wants.
And I, I'm telling you the Rams, I love a Devante Adams signing.
I think you're going to see a really good year from them next year.
We have them at six already. So we need a four Vikings Vikings.
Okay. All right.
I like how we go from the vikings won't make the playoffs they're four seed that's fine no i just don't understand like nobody likes sam donald there he wins 14 games then they get rid of sam donald and then we still don't like the vikings so they got rid of the part that nobody liked and then this guy's supposed to be better i don't know it's weird all right so now that we have our teams and our brackets seated it's time to play bracket bonanza all right so we're gonna head to the afc and we're gonna have the five and the four matchup the chargers against the bangles who do we like Chargers Really? Wow
Okay
I was leaving Bengals there Chargers. Really? Wow.
Okay.
I was leaving Bengals there.
Fuentes, you're the deciding vote.
Yeah.
He is an L.A. guy.
Yeah, but the Chargers offense isn't that great,
but then the Bengals defense isn't that great.
Yeah.
I'm going to go Chargers.
Their defense is better. All right.
We then have the Broncos and the Ravens. Number six and number three seed, the Broncos and the Ravens.
I love bracket Bonanza. Ravens.
I'm going Broncos. Wow.
I'm going Broncos too. Broncos it is.
Baltimore. Baltimore in the playoffs, man.
Baltimore in the playoffs. Believe in Bo.
Wow. Okay.
Then we have the number seven Patriots against the number two Chiefs. Chiefs.
Chiefs it is. Okay, fine.
We'll move on with the Chiefs very quickly. You hated that.
I got the Patriots in there, didn't you, Fuentes? You hated that. Yeah.
I'm not a Drake May guy. No.
So, no. Heading over to the other side, we have the NFC.
We have the five-seed Bears against the four-seed Vikings. Bears.
Bears, okay. Fuentes? I don't know.
Two quarterbacks, can't trust. One of them has a better offensive line.
I'm putting down the Bears because Bear down Billy,
so that's two out of three.
So we're going to just keep him moving.
Rams and Bucs.
Fuentes is a noted LA guy.
Big Rams.
Big on the Rams.
Let's go.
Big on the Bucs.
Big on the Bucs.
You know what? I was surprised, Mike Yead, now that you said that.
I'm surprised they re-signed Godwin.
I thought he was for sure done there after the injuries
and how much he was going to cost.
I'm surprised that they brought him back.
He's a great player. Don't get me wrong.
I just didn't think they were going to, yeah, like the money wise and stuff like that. So it's on you.
I don't like being the deciding vote. I'm going to put the Rams.
I like the Bucs better. Oh no! Baker again! I like the Bucs better, but I feel like Baker is always capable of having a Baker game, and that might be the game.
It's funny how you say he can have a Baker game, and yet that goes both ways. Yeah, exactly right.
And then we have the number seven Lions against the number two Commanders in a big revenge game.
That game's in Washington.
It is. Yeah, they're the higher seed, yeah.
Give me the commanders.
Give me the commanders.
Wow.
Jaden Daniels continues ascending.
Debo Smith, huge game.
This might be the end of the road for the Lions
if you're basing it on the results of Bracket Bonanza.
Okay, headed back to the AFC.
We now have the teams that had buys in play.
So the number one seed Bills are going to take on the number five seed Chargers I love that matchup oh man I love that matchup give me the upset give me the upset give me the Chargers wow Fuentes?
I don't trust Herbert.
Do it.
No, I don't trust Herbert.
But you trust Josh Allen in the playoffs?
Yeah.
I mean, the only person he can't beat is Mahomes. I should say it's not Josh Allen.
Let's just say you trust the Bills.
I'm going to take Josh.
He just sold it for me.
I'm going to take Josh Allen over Justin Herbert every time.
So there you go.
Yeah, I went Bills too.
Sorry, Mikey.
I went Bills on that.
I tried.
I tried.
You were very enthusiastic. Okay, number six very enthusiastic against the number two chiefs uh number two chiefs oh i was gonna go broncos okay number two chiefs no no i can't we're gonna have the one white seat against the two i know but i can't go josh allen like over justin herbert and then be like, Bo Nix over Mahomes.
That makes sense. That is very good reasoning by you.
Okay, we have the number one Eagles against the number five Bears over the NFC. Brackets Bonanza is so fun.
I'm going to go the upset again. I'm going to go the upset again.
Okay. Super Bowl, Super Bowl, like too many playoff games for too long.
Bears
need it. They got a
change of everything. They got a brand new offense.
Ben Johnson.
They can stop the tush push. Yes, and I'm going to say
Stugatz was right, but one year
late and the Bears are going to the big game.
Nice! The Jets make it!
Yes. Bears.
Okay.
The number six Rams against
the number two commanders.
Commanders.
Fuentes?
Rams.
Oh, God. Alright, I'm going to go commanders.
Fair.
This is great. Okay.
Then we head to the AFC Championship game
of Brackis Bonanza.
We have the number one Bills against the number two Chiefs.
Thank you. Five-seeded Bears against the two-seeded Commanders.
Go ahead, Fuentes. I'll give you the first shot.
Okay. I'm going to say the Bears because the ultimate conflict, Bear Down Billy versus Chiefs Kingdom Billy in this Super Bowl.
Oh, I don't like that. I'm going Commanders.
What are you guys doing to me exactly what you do to Stugatz every week making him be the deciding vote I'm going to go commanders wow commanders versus chiefs I think the bears might be a year they're a year away from being a year away maybe or they're just a year away I don't know whatever that saying is so we have a battle of two seeds here in the championship for brackets bonanza the number two seeded chiefs against the number two seeded commanders who do we like you'd be the chiefs okay fuentes yeah the chiefs the chiefs it's the chiefs Ask the commanders. All right.
Well, regardless. So congratulations to the Chiefs.
I mean, they didn't three-peat. They're not necessarily going to the Super Bowl next year, but that was God Bless Football's Brackets Bonanza and our winner, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Nice. We'll be back.

We're also going to be doing a draft watch-along for the first round in Nashville.
So if you want to go check us out there, we're going to be doing that live in Nashville, I think. Live in Nashville.
Nashville Sports Social, right? I didn't say because I wasn't 100% sure. I was going to say details to come on exactly where we're going to be.
But we will be in Nashville for the draft on Thursday night. So if you're in the area, if you want to say hi to us, go by and say hi to us in Nashville for the first run of the draft.
And hopefully the Titans keep that pick, because if not, we're in Nashville regardless, and we're just going to be enjoying the draft from a bar in Nashville. There are worse places to be.
There are worse places to be. Come hang out with us in Nashville.
Hopefully they have the number one pick, and that makes sense. If not, we're just going to be hanging out in hanging out in Nashville whenever the Titans pick we'll celebrate or we won't or whatever so Billy are we gonna go are we gonna go out in Nashville are we like are we gonna like are we gonna go line dancing or something like are we gonna go get go get crazy I I'm trying to figure that out right I want to well the last couple times that we've done these things, they've been very in and out trips for me.
So when we went to Kansas city for opening night, I was in Kansas city for, from check-in to check-out of the hotel. It was less than 24 hours.
Chicago was the same thing. I was in and out of Chicago
for our watch along in Chicago.
Arizona, I turned into a family trip,
so I was there a couple extra days.
Nashville, I'll be honest with you.
I had conversations with my wife.
I was like, you have any interest in going to Nashville,
taking the girls to see Nashville?
See if anyone wanted to make a little family trip out of it.
I haven't gotten a bite yet, so I thinking I'm thinking maybe we're we're gonna be hanging out we're gonna be maybe hanging out sorry about that I think maybe we're gonna be hanging out a little bit Mikey in Nashville maybe get in there you know mid-Wednesday or so paint the town tight and blue on uh Wednesday night's the red party oh yeah we can go take a picture with those wings that exist we can wear some cowboy hats or whatever maybe some boots just kind of go to the honky tonks are there honky tonks yeah right in there are honky tonks they're good honky tonks go to some honky tonks and just kind of enjoy nashville fuentes you're uh you're welcome to attend all these honky tonks and all these parties with us but yeah i very much like nashville but one time keep it on the down low we don't want too many people that's a good that's a good point we're gonna go get some hattie b's nashville hot chicken okay we gotta do some of that a little honky tonk walk down broadway maybe buy myself a ridiculously expensive cowboy hat or a pair of cowboy boots maybe both who knows there you go all right maybe i do that i wear it to the draft party the next day and maybe get the old expense i was gonna say maybe we could expense a nice hat yeah see exactly what we're gonna do there anyways here's a new game it's called will it pass mikey there have been a lot of rules proposals this week not to spoil the second time of the year you've been collecting it and the way that this segment's gonna work is you are going to be presenting things and then ask us will it pass question though billy yeah who's this segment brought to us by ah great question this segment is presented by spiernav the world's number one vodka please drink responsibly yeah this is this is the best time of the nfl some people say it's opening weekend some people say it's the playoffs or the draft nope it's rule proposal time that's the best time of the nfl season or off season so with that in mind there is a proposal made by the green bay packers right now to essentially ban the tush push billy gill will it pass i think it will not pass we've been hearing about them banning the tush Push for years now. No one seems to enjoy it, but it feels like one of those things that's just not going to pass.
Juontes? I agree. I think the year where you propose getting rid of it is the year that the team that does it the best wins the Super Bowl is probably not the best way to go about it because now it just sounds like you're crying over spilled milk.
Sour grapes. Yeah, sour grapes.
So probably not the best time, but like Billy said, if they didn't do it the year before or the year before that, they're probably not going to do it this year either. I mean, is it boring? Do I not like it? Yeah, I don't like it at all.
I think it is boring. I think it kills the flow of the game.
But at the same time, it's uh is it boring do i not like it uh yeah i don't like it at all i think it i think it is boring i think it kills the flow of the game but at the same time like it's football and it's guys running into each other and they they do it really well and they're just going to take advantage of it and there's also going to be a moment in time where there may they may not be as good at it so i just don't see it going anywhere this feels also like one one of those things that like politicians are out front like we are gonna get rid of the tush push and this and that and then you're like but you voted to keep it like what what happened here now uh it keeps offenses on the field it puts more points up i think everybody hates it but they will never get rid of it okay so it will not pass mikey mikey the next one okay the next one is proposed by the detroit lions uh and you can see why they would uh propose this after last year where essentially they would do new seating system for the playoffs and everybody would be seated based on their record not whether they won the division or not now the division winners would still get in however once you're in you're seated based solely on your record billy gill well we just played brackets bonanza and in brackets bonanza we don't worry about the seedings we do we have the initial seedings and then it's just bracket style they don't want to have automatic uh you know like three seeds for teams that win their division if they're bad will it pass i think this year it will not pass i'm gonna go no year this year it will not pass this feels like one of those that is kind of floated out there. We'll see how it's received.
It's not going to pass. Then it's going to take a couple years, pick up steam, and then maybe eventually it passes.
But I think this year it will not pass. Puentes, will it pass? No, I think the NFL wants divisions to mean something.
So if they don't get the home playoff game then you totally strip that away because then really who cares you just got to get a good record and i mean no i don't think it passes they've been doing it this way for a long time and yes it does suck when you get a seven and nine seattle team hosting a 12 win new orleans team which is well knows the beast mode run but um yeah i yeah, I just don't see it passing. All right.
Another proposal by the Eagles. Essentially marrying the playoff overtime rules with the regular season overtime rules so that both teams will get a possession in overtime, regardless of if it's in the playoffs or in the regular season.
regular season uh mike fuentes will it pass this one should pass but i don't know if it will i can't really think of a reasoning i mean i mean why not i guess more football yeah it's more it's making players play more football but as we know like the player association isn't going to like that so um i don't know i i'm going to say they always get what they want. Also true.
But I just I would like it. Obviously, like you said, it's more football for us.
I mean, they already got the two extra games, you know, so during the season. So you know what? I've been so negative.
It will pass. We're going to get more football.
I hope it doesn't pass. Honestly, I like the sudden death aspect of the playoffs and football during the regular season.
I do like the whole situation where if it's a field goal, you have a chance at the touchdown. But I like the urgency.
I like not necessarily saying, you know what, we're going to get the ball anyways. It doesn't really matter.
Let's take our time. Let's draw this out.
I want it to feel like it can get end at any minute so i hope
it doesn't pass even though that's not the question what one more quick one yeah yeah because this one this one's funny for me because the pittsburgh steelers are the one proposing this the pittsburgh steelers are proposing a resolution that allows teams to have some contact with pending free agents in that legal tampering window.
Right now, they're only allowed to talk to their agents. But I imagine after this year, the Steelers would have liked to have known a certain player's intentions prior to making the moves that they did.
So my question for you, Billy Gill, is will it pass? The legal tampering is such a crotch. It's so ridiculous anyways.
I feel like the way this should be asked is, are we just going to move up the window where you can speak to the players directly? I'm going to say, yes, it's going to pass. And if it doesn't, it's just a charade anyways.
There's no way any of these players are signing at the times that they're signing, being contacted for the first time. I don't know why we're even pretending that's still how it works, but I'm going to say yes, that passes.
What does? Will it pass? Be quick now. Yeah, I'm going to say yes.
I'm going to say yes because it's so true what Billy says.
Yeah, because we all know negotiations with lawyers and contracts.
You just sit down at a table and 10 minutes later it's done.
So, yeah, it's going to pass.
All right, guys.

It's been a fun show so far. How would we rank our games that we've played? I'll ask you, Mikey, and then I'll ask you, Fuentes.
We've done so far, Will It Pass? We've done, here's a headline, and we've done Brackets Bonanza. So if you were to rank the three in order of like to least like which would you say this is easy for me uh number one was easily brackets bonanza yes um yeah that was number one number two uh i think is a solid will it pass yeah and then here's a headline is, not because it was bad, just because it didn't have any any pizzazz.
Yeah. I think the thing about here's a headline is we're going to have to do it every week because we have to talk about the headlines and we could just because headlines or we could just play here's a headline.
So I'm going to I'm going to I'm just going to stay with those rankings and not even ask Fuentes what his rankings are just because I feel like what's the point of asking him the rankings were just wasting time at that point. Respectfully to Fuentes.
Fuentes, you're not offended by that, are you? No, because I can't say that I really like brackets bonanza. I just wish it would have been extended because then we would have had the chance for a really big upset.
Like, we would have had the rate of beating the bills. You want the full 32-2 in the bracket.
You know what? I don't hate this. I don't hate this for next week.
I'm making a note of this, and I think that maybe next week we will come back with a new brackets bonanza in which the AFC and NFC are seeded 1-16. And there will be no buys, and just kind of play it out I like this I'm making a note of this brackets finanza one through 16 yes I want to see if the five and 12 Panthers can somehow find a way to take down the 11 and six Packers can they see it can they find the way can they get hot one game scenario you know I think for that one I think for that one we're gonna have to uh seed the teams in advance though we're not going going to be able to seed them 1-16.
Yes, we'll actually have to put some thought into it. I think we're going to cheat and we're going to keep 1-7 the same just for some consistency.
And then we'll rank 8-16 in each conference off-air. And then we'll come to you with a brackets bonanza where we do 1- 16 and see if it's the same results because it might not be because remember no reseeding once the uh or re-racking the matchups once it is at the playoff start in bracket no buys exactly right everybody knows the rules that's how it works so of course yeah all right so it is time now for more mike lee mikey take it away all right let's start with some breaking news from, I guess it would be yesterday, if you're listening to this on Friday.
More Mike Lee to be a better investment.
The $6.05 billion that the new owners paid for the Washington Commanders or the $6.1 billion that was just paid to buy the Celtics. Hmm.
Better investment, a middle of the road football team or the best NBA team. Relatively speaking.
I'm going to, I'm going to go with the NFL team. I feel like NFL teams appreciate and value much more than nba teams like nba teams there's maybe like one or two franchises like at the top that are like gonna be worth crazy amount of money where nfl teams are always gonna be worth a crazy amount of money i mean let's be real all the teams are gonna be worth a crazy amount of money but to your point if a middle of the road team is you know going for the same as one of like the premier teams in the nba nfl team yeah i'm gonna i'm gonna agree with billy uh mainly because the commanders are like a historic nfl franchise they have a lot of like the gibbs, all that stuff.
Very long tradition with the commanders. So even like maybe I would say there'd be a little bit of an argument feels like the Jacksonville Jaguars are like a lower tier franchise of the NFL because obviously the Boston Celtics are one of two premier franchises of the NBA.
But just the way football is just a juggernaut in this country when it comes to sports entertainment, I'm going to say the right put you on the spot how many nfl teams would you put the celtics as more valuable then oh wow that's a good question i'll give you i'll give you the los angeles chargers because for some even though it's la that's that's the only like saving grace because the san diego chargers were were not a great-looking franchise for a long time.
Then I'd say the Jacksonville Jaguars.
I'd probably say Tennessee Titans.
Let's see.
The Panthers.
The Carolina Panthers, yes.
I wouldn't say the Browns just because they've been around forever.
Let me see who else here.
Panthers and maybe the Falcons.
Broncos? No, Broncos have a big tradition uh that's it that's it really so maybe four or five really yeah all right it's interesting uh here's another interesting one for you did you say the card more no i didn't but i probably throw them in, Bird Gang? Bird Gang? We got to go to Arizona again next year. We do.
My kids, it's the strangest thing. I don't know if you're like this.
Mikey, you never know what's going to resonate with your kids. My kids will not stop mentioning cactus.
Anytime they drive by, like, cactus, cactus, and I'm like, like, guys, why were cactuses so much?
They left such an impression on you in Arizona.
It's the craziest thing.
Anyway.
Yeah, we got to do that again.
All right.
More Mike Lee to be the position taken first in the NFL draft out of these positions.
Wide receiver, tight end, running back.
Thank you. draft out of these positions wide receiver tight end running back this is shocking to me because i think there's an obvious oh you have like extra actual data or just your opinion no i just who do you think this year is more likely to be taken first in this draft class in this draft because every other year you'd say it's an easy one.
It's this position. But this year, I think it's the one that you would take last.
You're saying tight end, wide receiver, or running back. I'm going second.
Can I stump you on this one? Can I stump you I'm going to, I'm going to go running back. Yeah.
It's, it's either Austin Gentry or Warren, right? Ashton. Yeah.
Yeah. So it's those two guys.
Those are the two ones. Cause I don't, I can't think of a wide receiver.
That's great. McMillan is, is the, is the best one.
Now here's the other question. Do you count Travis Hunter as a wide receiver? You're cheating.
I don't think so. I think he's a corner.
I'm going to say Warren. I'm going to go.
I'm going Gentry. I think Gentry goes six.
I think Gentry goes six to the Raiders. If we're not counting Travis Hunter as wide receiver, we're just counting him under the famous football athlete category, then I would say Jente.
If we're counting him as wide receiver, then I would go wide receiver, though. Staying with the draft, more Mike Lee to be an NFL bust.
Shador Sanders or Cam Ward? Man, this is okay. We don't know where they go yet.
The answer, if they both fail, the answer should be Cam Ward. If they both fail.
If he goes number one in the draft and he fails he will even if they both fail at the same time if he's the number one pick he would be the bigger bust shador is getting so much hate that i believe everyone wants him to fail just to begin with i believe everyone wants him to fail and if shador and cam both fail like that's how i'm playing this not if one fails or the other fails if they both fail cam ward should be the bigger bust however if they both fail i think shador will be considered a bigger bust completely unfairly, and people might forget about Cam Ward. That makes sense.
I'm going to do this analysis assuming that they both get drafted by the Titans. So that way they're in the same situation.
Because the Titans situation is really bad. Can we all agree on that? So just by the way it's in the numbers,
if Shador goes after Cam, he's going to be on a better team, right?
Not loads better, but it should be a better team
because they're drafting later.
In terms of personality, I think Billy's kind of hitting it on the head.
There's people out there that want Shador Sanders to fail more
just because of who his dad is and all the hype in Colorado and all that stuff, which is unfair. But who I think is going to be a more likely to be a bust is probably going to be Shador, I would say, but I don't know.
The Titans are so bad. Like, I don't, I don't know if Cam can really flourish there.
I think they're both kind of in a losing proposition. Interesting follow-up.
Who was a bigger bust? Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota? They were taking one, two. I feel like we could be looking at a very similar situation eight, ten years from now.
I would say Mariota was a bigger bust, though. Mariota was a bigger bust.
Like, Jameis is still... I mean, they're both still in the league but if you had okay but drive for your life tomorrow you rather have Jameis and Marcus Mariota right yeah and if you and if you could say you know what I this is who I want you I have a backup position available they're gonna go for the same amount of money do I want Jameis or do I want Marcus Mariota, I feel like almost every team would take Jameis Winston.
Yeah, if I need a drive from one of them, I'd much rather put Jameis in there than Marcus Mariota. Even though Marcus Mariota has been solid, he's only been solid as a backup.
You could consider Jameis a very low-tier starter, but you still consider him a starter more than Mariota is.
Interesting.
We got time for one more?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Don't even ask him.
Don't even ask him.
Who cares?
Keep going.
You have 30 seconds, but go ahead.
More Mike Lee to make the playoffs in their first season as head coach with their new team.
Mike Vrabel with the Patriots or Liam Cohen with the Jaguars? Vrabel with the patriots or liam cohen with the jaguars vrabel uh i'm gonna say um what's the other guy's name cohen liam cohen yeah liam cohen just because it's a lot easier than when the afc south than the afc east i think he's just a wild card is what i'm thinking also mar, Marcus Mariota, NFL bust, who has made $75 million in his career. Sign me up.
Yep. Sign me up for that right now.
God bless football. God bless football.
