Speaker 10 I didn't think the pain from the shingles rash would affect simple everyday tasks like bathing, getting dressed, or even walking around. I was wrong.
Speaker 10 Though not everyone at risk will develop it, 99% of people over the age of 50 already have the virus that causes shingles, and it could reactivate at any time.
Speaker 10
I developed it, and the blistering rash lasted for weeks. Don't learn the hard way, like I did.

Speaker 12 Welcome to the Big Sue,
Speaker 12 presented by DraftKings.
Speaker 14 Why are you listening to this show?
Speaker 12 It's a podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan Lebetard podcast.
Speaker 13 I'm sorry, I'm not going to apologize for that.
Speaker 12 In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging.
Speaker 14 I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries if they're just there. That hasn't happened to you guys.
Speaker 8 I've done it.
Speaker 12 And now, here's the marching man to nowhere, fat face, and the habitual liar.
Speaker 17 This episode of the Dan Lebetard show with Stu Gotz is presented by DraftKings. DraftKings, the crown is yours.
Speaker 14 What happened there? How are you feeling about that?
Speaker 11 Why'd you get all weird about that?
Speaker 18 What happened?
Speaker 19 Why'd you look to your right mid-sentence?
Speaker 17 Because the mic did not pick up when I started that. The mic was not on when I said this episode, and it threw me off.
Speaker 20 It was. It was.
Speaker 11 It was. Don't worry about it.
Speaker 20 Everybody heard you.
Speaker 22 Because sometimes you get a countdown and it'll throw you off.
Speaker 20 Don't worry about it.
Speaker 23 You threw me off. Yeah, it did great.
Speaker 25 I don't know why so many people are piling on on you.
Speaker 28 You nailed that Bills Dolphins game.
Speaker 17 Thank you very much, Mike.
Speaker 17 I should be used to it by now, but I'm not quite.
Speaker 7 It's okay. I'll get over it.
Speaker 14
The Patriots had five turnovers yesterday. I saw something that I don't often see in that game.
Mike Vrabel, not late in the game, not in a desperate situation.
Speaker 14
Fourth and one from his own 16-yard line went for it. Fourth and one from his own 16.
I still can't get used to some of this stuff.
Speaker 14 I know all of these coaches have gone crazy now when it comes to fourth and short.
Speaker 14 Most coaches, college and pro, now know that they were doing the math all wrong for, I don't know, a century before that. And now they all go for it.
Speaker 30 Techn one of the 16 is still nervous.
Speaker 16 He's a crazy person.
Speaker 32 He said he was going to cut off his pecker.
Speaker 3 Like, the guy's insane.
Speaker 25 He's since walked that back.
Speaker 14 Well, he was the Titans coach back then. He said if they want, he would cut off his
Speaker 14 pecker in order to win a Super Bowl. And now with the Patriots, they had five turnovers yesterday.
Speaker 14 Aaron Rodgers ends up winning and going to 2-1, but the Steelers' offense didn't look particularly good.
Speaker 14 The Patriots were four for four on fourth down in that game right till the end when they needed the last fourth down conversion and did not get it.
Speaker 14
That's one of the five games I would mention is worth talking about yesterday. I reluctantly will throw Jacksonville and Houston in there.
Houston is the lowest scoring offense in the sport.
Speaker 14 How crazy is that?
Speaker 30 CJ Stroud sucks, huh?
Speaker 34 Get that team off televisions everywhere.
Speaker 26 I cannot watch this team.
Speaker 23 They are so unpleasant.
Speaker 28 I get angry watching them because I do believe them to have talent.
Speaker 36 And maybe I should forget what C.J.
Speaker 29 Stroud did as a rookie.
Speaker 30 We were all on his tip. He's not that good.
Speaker 38 Whoa.
Speaker 36 That's a breakdown you're not getting on get up.
Speaker 2 He's talking about a pecker.
Speaker 22 Getting up?
Speaker 39 Whoa.
Speaker 6 I mean,
Speaker 30 they have some talent right i don't that's a bad organization the jags were trying to lose that game they had five drops in the game the jags do everything wrong at the end of games like everything i saw that game on the schedule i was like no no don't do this to us they they play twice were you actually looking at the run i was i was so hungry for a week and three and you come up with houston and then jags like no no no why is this game this game is an affront to football get this off just skip it the next time they're scheduled to play find two other teams to play it's just bad i hate bad old stinky quarterbacks.
Speaker 35 I hate them.
Speaker 17
Another half a team. Another half a team.
Good defense, no offense.
Speaker 14 How do you guys feel in general about the limits on offense all over the sport? All over the sport that you have every quarterback throwing for 160 yards.
Speaker 28 Well, I mean, is Houston going up against a great defense every game?
Speaker 16 That can't possibly be it.
Speaker 44 I saw Tyrod Taylor move the ball against Tampa Bay, which, by the way, good team.
Speaker 14 Let's talk for a second about how Aaron Glenn feels about that wonderful celebration after
Speaker 14 Baker Mayfield produced not one, but two game-winning drives in that game.
Speaker 14 Two game-winning drives in that game. Baker Mayfield now has four game-winning drives this season, and they've only played three games.
Speaker 29 That throw to Abuka.
Speaker 23 And the catch.
Speaker 36 Abuka's come into the league.
Speaker 47 He's wide receiver one.
Speaker 14 He is so good.
Speaker 28 He's so amazing.
Speaker 27 That game was so great.
Speaker 48 And by the way, as aesthetically pleasing a game as you could see.
Speaker 47 Those white creamsicle uniforms at home.
Speaker 49 It just
Speaker 20 looks so different.
Speaker 24 What is more valuable to a football team if you're not putting up your best effort?
Speaker 48 Because we have not seen a complete game from Tampa Bay this year. They've been in tough betting spots.
Speaker 51 What more do you want as a special trait from your quarterback than to do that?
Speaker 14 What is more valuable in the final minute?
Speaker 1 I know this guy's going to do it perhaps multiple times.
Speaker 23 They're injured.
Speaker 14 And not only did they do it multiple times at the end of that game, you're mentioning Abuka, but Mike Evans was out. Like he got injured, and so it's not just that both his tackles are out.
Speaker 14 Now Mike Evans' Hall of Fame receivers out and still two game-winning drives against the Jets.
Speaker 30 Wasn't it just last week you were talking about Baker Mayfield that he's one of the three or four quarterbacks who they have the ball late in the game. We think they're going to score.
Speaker 52 We all knew how it was going to happen.
Speaker 1 You saw how much time was on the clock after while Aaron Glenn is dancing.
Speaker 31 And you're like, don't do this.
Speaker 45 Don't do this.
Speaker 24 he's Baker's got to find a way, and he always finds a way.
Speaker 53 But Abuka is a great, that dude is a great player.
Speaker 47 And while Mike Evans is off, there's talk that Chris Godwin, who's another one of the great players to watch in this league, so fun to watch.
Speaker 37 Godwin's coming back, so hopefully, there isn't that much of a drop-off because they have Philadelphia next, and there has been a thorn in Philadelphia's side over these last few seasons.
Speaker 37 Remember, Philadelphia had to reshape their entire offense the last time they played Tampa because they got blown the out.
Speaker 17 When I say Baker Mayfield league MVP, I'm not even kidding. I mean, it used to be words that would be ridiculous in the same sentence, but
Speaker 17 the way he's winning games. It's not ridiculous.
Speaker 17 He just has that ability. I mean, Daniel Jones, Justin Herbert, who are the MVPs right now, I can make an argument for Baker being number one on the list at this point.
Speaker 55 And it's not like system plays.
Speaker 36 It's not, it is very much.
Speaker 6 individual efforts.
Speaker 44 He makes plays.
Speaker 27 He makes stuff happen. He becomes Steve Young in certain moments when they need plays with his legs.
Speaker 25 And that throw that he made to Book.
Speaker 57 It's just it's not many people can do that on this player.
Speaker 14 I know that a lot of analysis excludes what I'm about to say, which is one of the reasons that the football got worse in week three here is because people aren't as fresh.
Speaker 14
They haven't had months off anymore. Now they're going week to week again.
Some of the quarterbacks are out.
Speaker 14 And so your ability to win games when your team is injured, he's Baker Mayfield is without his tackles.
Speaker 14 They're winning games against teams that have pass rush. And when we're talking about this and you guys are saying Baker Mayfield for MVP, and I'm hearing then, unless you say Daniel Jones,
Speaker 14 imagine that conversation.
Speaker 41 Two and a half years ago.
Speaker 2 Baker was in the MVP conversation like halfway through last season also. He had a great last season also.
Speaker 37 No, I think we're here on Baker Mayfield where we've decided this guy is an upper echelon.
Speaker 58 You can win a championship with Baker Mayfield. There's no more question.
Speaker 30 Right, if Baker Mayfield were caught, like this is Baker Mayfield, when maybe there's still some, well, not maybe. There are probably still some questions about Daniel Jones.
Speaker 30 We are here with Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 2 But Baker can also lose you a championship, which is why he doesn't win the MVP.
Speaker 2 Because Baker is capable of blowing you some games, also, which is what always ends up happening at some point in the season. And then he takes himself out of the MVP conversation.
Speaker 14 I just love that he's fearless and that everyone sort of has to backpedal when he's got the ball at the end of games.
Speaker 19 Aaron Glenn was confident.
Speaker 41 That was so silly.
Speaker 19 Does he not like, I'm on my couch being like, there's a lot of time.
Speaker 51 Does he not know that he's coaching the Jets?
Speaker 51 You're not going to transcend the Jets.
Speaker 19 It's like walking to like Greg Cody in the music. I know to the couch.
Speaker 41 There's two things.
Speaker 60 There's two acts of God here.
Speaker 52 You're the Jets, and that's Baker Mayfield with time.
Speaker 6 They're away.
Speaker 6 Why are you dancing?
Speaker 60 You got to know that's not going to age.
Speaker 23 Well, that is a rookie head coach.
Speaker 14 Let me explain to you that Chris Cody, do you know how odd and sort of earth-shaking it is for the Jets to get a lead late and send Chris Cody, who I know to be allergic to books and research, sent him immediately to the internet to wonder whether or not yesterday was a historic day for blocked kicks.
Speaker 19
I was like, there are a lot of missed blocks and misses. I'm like, there's a lot of misses today.
Let me do the numbers. I'm going to crank the numbers out.
Speaker 19 I'm going to go to every game log, see all the kicking stats. And I learned based off the average, it was just a slightly below average day.
Speaker 14 How much time did you spend today?
Speaker 19 A good 14 to 17 minutes of going through game logs, doing all the math of all the field goal percentages.
Speaker 2 What is that? Like, what exactly did you do in terms of like the game? Every game.
Speaker 19 I went looked at the kickers' field goals in every game. So, like, I have it in my phone actually, where in this game, they were four of seven, the kickers were.
Speaker 19 In this game, they were three for four.
Speaker 19
There was only three games yesterday where the kickers were perfect. There were misses in every other game.
Some games had like four misses.
Speaker 19 It ended up being around 76, 75% yesterday field goal kickers, while the average is slightly above 80%.
Speaker 2 But blocked kicks, returned for touchdowns, had to have been historic.
Speaker 19 Yeah, I mean, I didn't look up that specific one. It was more just misses in general.
Speaker 26 That's the one that I'm most interested in.
Speaker 49 Yeah, that would have been a good one.
Speaker 19 In my mind, I was just like, every game I'm watching, that field goal killer
Speaker 1 was the returns.
Speaker 15 Yeah.
Speaker 17 It was also, in my mind, the misses.
Speaker 24 And they turned like potentially losses to wins.
Speaker 43 They were wins to losses.
Speaker 20 That's what the witching hour does.
Speaker 2
It delivers. Classic witching hour.
By the way, the Dolphins are favorite over the Jets on Monday Night Football.
Speaker 15 One of the
Speaker 19 all-time sad Monday night games we have a week from tonight.
Speaker 2 $27 gets you in right now.
Speaker 1 0-3. Monday night football.
Speaker 62 0-3 Jets.
Speaker 15 0-3 Dolphins.
Speaker 11 Unfortunately.
Speaker 14 Scott Hansen actually said yesterday that that Colts Titans game was the game between the most accurate kickers in the league. And as soon as he said it, they missed three consecutive kicks.
Speaker 14 Three consecutive field goals got missed. Also in the Cleveland game, you could have also had one return, a blocked kick returned for a touchdown, except it took like a funny bounce.
Speaker 14 Otherwise, that would have happened there too.
Speaker 14 To have the fact that during the witching hour, you had two blocked field goals returned for touchdowns is what made the witching hour erase a truly dreadful day of professional football.
Speaker 58 Dan, I have indeed opened up the game time Time app to see ticket prices.
Speaker 47 I can get in that door for $28 fees included.
Speaker 51 That is fees included.
Speaker 28 There are about a dozen tickets right now that I'm looking at this app that are under $35 all in fees included.
Speaker 27 That's taken the guesswork out of buying tickets, people.
Speaker 6 Download the Game Time app if you want to go to this terrible NFL game on Monday night between the Jets and the Dolphins for an unbelievably low price.
Speaker 23 Why?
Speaker 28 Because that is what Game Time does.
Speaker 47 It's the absolute best in the market. And if for whatever reason you find a better price out there, Game Time will match 110% of that price.
Speaker 26 Use the code Dan for $20 off.
Speaker 33 Your first purchase, terms apply, swipe, tap, ticket, go.
Speaker 29 I might go.
Speaker 2 Two bad teams could be an exciting game.
Speaker 1 I might go. I might go.
Speaker 2 By the way, also the return this week of 9.30 a.m.
Speaker 39 football.
Speaker 1 Yeah. Dublin-Ireland.
Speaker 43 Are the Vikings doing
Speaker 16 back-to-back in Europe?
Speaker 35 I think they are.
Speaker 64 They're doing Dublin and then London.
Speaker 28 Kevin O'Connell, good coach.
Speaker 9 What's up, listeners?
Speaker 2 I don't know about you, but when I was a kid, I certainly dreamed big.
Speaker 9 I think when we were all kids, we dreamed big, whether we wanted to be astronauts, presidents. Personally, I wanted to be a pitcher for the then Florida Marlins.
Speaker 51 Now, we're dreaming of something else, like owning our own businesses.

Speaker 31 Hey, everyone, it's Mike Ryan.
Speaker 29 One thing about me that everybody knows, I absolutely love Miller Light.
Speaker 43 You know what else I love?
Speaker 54 You.
Speaker 8 That's right, you.
Speaker 31 Listening on your way to work right now, wondering whether or not today is the day to tell your boss what you really think of the new reports he needs filled out every week?
Speaker 54 I absolutely love you.
Speaker 31 That's why I'm thrilled to tell you that we are again partnering with Miller Light to give you a chance to play along with weekend observations.
Speaker 43 Starting September 22nd, you'll be able to go to DraftKings.com and guess what will happen during weekend observations on the show Monday, September 29th.
Speaker 51 How many beeps will there be?
Speaker 45 Who's the first person to interrupt?
Speaker 26 How many people will talk about the used chances to win a national title?
Speaker 57 Spoiler alert, definitely me.
Speaker 40 The winner will get a trip for you and a guest to come to Miami and hang with us at Flanagans for Thursday night football on October 30th and a visit to the studio to see a taping of the show.

Speaker 4 I want to talk about home security for a minute. For the longest time, I thought it was just alarms and sirens that once somebody breaks in, you deal with it.
Speaker 8 But when you think about it, that's already too late.
Speaker 4
That's reactive. I had my car broken into on my property a while back.
The only thing I could do was call 911. That's reactive.
I don't like living things up to chance.
Speaker 46 That's why I decided to install SimplySafe.
Speaker 8 Why?
Speaker 4 Because they flipped the idea of home security by making it proactive. Their Active Guard Outdoor Protection uses AI-powered cameras to actually identify people lurking around your property.
Speaker 4 And here's the key. Simply Safe's monitoring agents step in before anything goes down.
Speaker 4
They'll talk directly to intruders through the camera, light them up with spotlights, and even call the cops if they need to. That's not reacting.
That's stopping crime before it starts.
Speaker 4 No contracts, no hidden fees. That's why they've been named best home security system by U.S.
Speaker 8 News and World Report five years in a row.
Speaker 4
And they back it up with a 60-day money-back guarantee. SimplySafe is offering Lebatard show listeners 50% off a new system with professional monitoring.
Plus, your first month is free.
Speaker 4
Visit simplysafe.com/slash DLB to claim the offer. That's simplysafe.com/slash DLB.
There's no safe like SimplySafe.
Speaker 13 Don Lebatard.
Speaker 38 You owe me everything.
Speaker 38
You owe me everything. You have added 10 years to my career.
I have. This man has.
Speaker 38
You haven't. That man.
Who the hell are you?
Speaker 13 Stugats.
Speaker 13 I am.
Speaker 38 Who the fool
Speaker 38 should be thanking? Bullshit. Me.
Speaker 38 You're a rude young man. You're a fool.
Speaker 38 You're a fool.
Speaker 6 I already called you a fool.
Speaker 38
You're a fool, right? You can't call me. You're an idiot again.
It's a fool. You're an idiot twice.
Speaker 41 You're an idiot for dismissing how much I've helped you.
Speaker 62 This is the Don Lebatar Show with the Stugats.
Speaker 14 I want to talk about some college football here and I'd like to know from the group here what you guys believe to be
Speaker 14 the biggest story from the weekend.
Speaker 14 The first thing I'm going to do here is play some old Davo Swinney sound, not just the sound from last week, but the famous sound from last year where he was taking calls from a sports radio station and he got mad at some caller
Speaker 14 named named Tyler.
Speaker 66 I've started as the lowest paid coach in this freaking business, and I'm where I am because I've worked my ass off every single day.
Speaker 66 And I ain't gonna let some smart-ass kid get on this phone and bring this stuff.
Speaker 66
So, if you got a problem with that, I don't care. I work for the Board of Trustees, the president, for AD.
And if they're tired of me leaving this program, all they got to do is let me know.
Speaker 66 I'll go somewhere else where there is an appreciation.
Speaker 66 I'm perfect.
Speaker 66
He wants to be fired. And I am a man of faith.
Absolutely. I'm 53 years old.
And there ain't one thing in my life.
Speaker 66 I have been a part of failure many times. But there ain't one thing in my life that I ever failed at, Tyler.
Speaker 66
Never. All right.
I wanted to get an education. I got two degrees.
I wanted to be the first college college in my graduate with my family. I did it.
I wanted to go play football in Alabama.
Speaker 66
I earned a scholarship for every three years. Worked my ass off.
Won a national championship. I wanted to get into coaching.
I worked my way to being a head coach.
Speaker 66
And when I got this job, I'm sure you didn't want me to get this job. And 15 years later, I'm still here.
And I say the results are what they are, and I stand on them.
Speaker 66 So you don't ever have to call back.
Speaker 20 I learned. Wow.
Speaker 15 Greggart.
Speaker 14 Well, he's pretty arrogant. I also imagine that whenever he argues with his wife, he also gives his age and asks her to fire him.
Speaker 6 This is becoming a move.
Speaker 41 You can get a divorce if you want.
Speaker 35 Look, I'm 53 years old.
Speaker 21 Okay, I got plenty of time.
Speaker 52 You can take half my stuff.
Speaker 44 The buyout's only going down.
Speaker 14 Let's play the sound from last week because I suspect after losing to Syracuse, we will get some of that arrogance deflated right out of him in tone, temper, and tenor.
Speaker 14 But let's play the sound from last week of of Dabo Swinney also being hugely arrogant while he's
Speaker 14 cheating people.
Speaker 52 I can provide the framework for the audience that I guarantee you he will invoke, he can be fired at any time and that he's still got plenty of time to get fired and go somewhere else and win.
Speaker 51 I've been backing up Dabo consistently throughout all these because he turned that program around, but that was a really bad loss that he had to Syracuse.
Speaker 61 If they want me gone, if they tired of winning, they can send me on the way because that's all we've done is win. So if they tired of winning, we've won this league eight out of the last 10 years.
Speaker 61 Is that not good?
Speaker 61 I'm just asking, is that good?
Speaker 61 I don't know if that's good or not to win your league eight out of ten years, to go to the playoffs seven out of ten years, be in four national championships, win it twice.
Speaker 61
Yeah, we're a little down right now. Take your shots, but I got a long memory, in case y'all don't know.
We'll be all right. We'll bounce back.
Speaker 61 This is a program built to last, always has been, always will be.
Speaker 61 And I would just say, if you give up on us, if you don't believe on us because we've lost two games down to the last trade and we're one, you didn't believe in us anyway, so it don't matter.
Speaker 61
You wasn't all in anyway. If you're all in, you burn the ships, man.
There ain't no exit strategy. Like, you're freaking all in.
Speaker 61
And hey, listen, I mean, the Clemson's tired of winning, they send me on my way, but I'm going to go somewhere else and coach. I ain't going to the beach.
Hell, I'm 55. I got a long way to go.
Speaker 61
Y'all going to have to deal with me for a while. I got a long way to go.
I'm just getting going. I'm just now good enough to be a head coach.
Speaker 14
Okay, but this was after he lost two games. Then Syracuse comes into Clemson.
They were a double-digit underdog. Sir, I think they were a 17-point dog in this game, and they lose.
Speaker 14 Clemson loses 34-21 at home, and Dabbo doesn't sound, you might not hear fire me now and give his age here.
Speaker 61 But why aren't we held to a different standard from all these other teams out there who ain't ever won nothing?
Speaker 61 We're not perfect, and we we may suck this year.
Speaker 61 We may lay a freaking egg and go six and six.
Speaker 30 You're gonna be lucky he gets six and six.
Speaker 30 I think Dabbo's realized that the best job isn't coaching college football. It's being fired from coaching college football.
Speaker 14 I mean,
Speaker 14 where is Jimbo Fisher right now?
Speaker 26 Is he still making he's did you run into him on your campus tour?
Speaker 29 Jimbo's out there working for ACC Network.
Speaker 44 Nah, I didn't see him.
Speaker 14 Let's play the sound of Dabo sounding broken. You've gotten all of the air against Let Me Hear Broken.
Speaker 61
Disappointed. Painful.
I mean, I hurt. I mean, I'm human.
I mean,
Speaker 61 I'm not a cyborg. I mean,
Speaker 61
this is my life, man. I mean, I've been here 23 years.
I love this place.
Speaker 61
I give this place the very best I got every single day. Every day.
There's never been a day that I haven't given Clemson every ounce of everything I have. I hurt.
I mean, I've invested my life here.
Speaker 61 And when I don't get the job done, I'm responsible.
Speaker 8 I'm 55 years old.
Speaker 20 Seriously.
Speaker 32 I could be fired at any time.
Speaker 20 Not a robot.
Speaker 55 And it costs them less if they do it next year, perhaps.
Speaker 2 Not really. Like,
Speaker 2
if they fire him now, it's about 60 million. Next year, it's 57 million.
And after that, they have to pay him everything that's left from 2027 to 2031.
Speaker 45 Did he not listen to himself?
Speaker 28 He's like, why are we held to a different standard?
Speaker 1 I mean, we won a bunch of championships around here.
Speaker 30 I won this league 10 times.
Speaker 1 That good, I'll know.
Speaker 24 Yeah, why aren't they treating us like every other 6-6 ACC team?
Speaker 55 Is it because we've won so many of these championships while I was here?
Speaker 1 Maybe that's perhaps.
Speaker 20 I don't know.
Speaker 23 I'm just a 55-year-old man.
Speaker 1 I'm just good enough now to be a head coach.
Speaker 2 He has special Alabama clauses in his contract also. So like if he were to leave to coach Alabama, he would have to pay Clemson $6 million.
Speaker 2 And if it's any other school, he'd have to pay them $4 million.
Speaker 2 And every single year, there's clauses like that. And it's only Alabama that's higher than every other school in the country.
Speaker 2 So when they signed him to this 10-year deal in 2021, they were really afraid of him leaving to go to Alabama when Saban left. And now they want to get rid.
Speaker 2 Now they're hoping Alabama fires their coach and hires him so that he has to pay them instead of the other way around.
Speaker 30 You can't run down that hill the way he does and then lose 34-21 to Syracuse.
Speaker 14 Put it on the poll at Levittard's show. Can you run down the hill the way Dabo does and then lose 34-21 to Syracuse?
Speaker 14 I do want some college football observations from you guys, especially from Zazzlow, who's a college football expert and was part of ESPN Radio's coverage all week.
Speaker 14 And want Mike Ryan's thoughts on game day as well?
Speaker 14 Texas Tech looked awfully impressive to me, and somehow their backup quarterback Will Hammond is better than their starter Morton because he came into the game and they all of a sudden started dragging Utah.
Speaker 14 But the game for me that I enjoyed most this weekend, by the way, Belichick quietly lost to UCF 34-9 this weekend.
Speaker 52 Lost to Jakore Brown, former Miami third-string quarterback.
Speaker 48 Yeah, Dan, to your Texas Tech point, they spent so much money this offseason on that defense.
Speaker 27 And on College Game Day, they did a breakdown of what this defense does.
Speaker 47 You got D-tackles holding guys up with one hand, just kind of pushing them away so they can make a tackle with the other arm. They got Romello Height from Georgia Tech, who
Speaker 59 appears to be a mercenary and a good one.
Speaker 37 Texas Tech, that's a team that spent a lot of money and it seems to be working out for them.
Speaker 14 I felt the limitations of offense in Auburn and Oklahoma.
Speaker 14 and when I looked at the stat sheet Oklahoma had eight sacks at the half and finished with a record for the school 10 sacks but I really did think it was 20.
Speaker 14 I'm not joking when I when I tell you I thought that they had more sacks in the second half than they did in the first because of the amount of pressure they kept getting interesting storyline with Jackson Arnold who was quarterback for Oklahoma now did they boom
Speaker 41 Auburn yeah they they did kind of weird Oklahoma they cheated to win that game SEC refs admitted they did one of those they admitted they cheated cheated.
Speaker 60 They did the, yeah, they blew that call.
Speaker 23 Oklahoma tried to be cute.
Speaker 28 They ran a guy to the sideline pretending that he was going to sub out.
Speaker 29 Oh, I like when they do that. I like that.
Speaker 32 Defense was super confused. You're not allowed to do this.
Speaker 44 It's against the rules.
Speaker 23 Calls for timeout were even ignored.
Speaker 32 Guy who's pretending to be subbed out stays on the side of the sideline, just
Speaker 55 walks into the end.
Speaker 30 Why can't you do that?
Speaker 23 It was a bad call.
Speaker 16 You can't, because it's cheating.
Speaker 30 That should be allowed. Why is it cheating?
Speaker 6 He's on the field.
Speaker 32 The defense is allowed to substitute, so they're caught in no man's land.
Speaker 28 Like, is this guy checking in?
Speaker 65 Is he checking out?
Speaker 1 He goes into the end zone unguarded. Yeah, I disagree.
Speaker 1 There was also a bad call on a fumble return that should have gone Auburn's way.
Speaker 28 It was just really bad. And then they get the safety at the very end for a back-breaking six and a half, and you know, I was on that.
Speaker 1 Now you can hear it.
Speaker 6 That's how you can hear it.
Speaker 23
There you go. You're just hearing.
Of course, you can hear it.
Speaker 56 They cheated. That's the cheating right there.
Speaker 52 Auburn, for the last two years.
Speaker 6 I've been on Auburn against Oklahoma the last two years.
Speaker 44 They're inventing ways to lose to this team and not cover.
Speaker 14 The best game of the weekend was Arkansas-Memphis.
Speaker 14 Arkansas was winning the whole game, and then Memphis took the lead late, and Arkansas had the ball clearly in field goal range inside of the 10-yard line at the end.
Speaker 14 Could have just milked the clock, I think could have just knelt, handed the ball to the running back, and he got the ball punched out.
Speaker 14 Is Mike Gundy going to last the season? No.
Speaker 64 There's no way.
Speaker 35 I can't believe he got out of that building. Watching that game on Friday, I can't believe he got out of that building.
Speaker 15 There were really
Speaker 14 like good sources that said mike gundy was out there were there were reports saying that he was out and then at the 11th hour he agreed to some sort of deal that saved his job there is no way mike gundy is still coaching he gave back money he gave yeah that was a deal he gave back money in order to keep his job but uh i thought they were terrible last year and they were i thought they were as bad a big conference team as i saw all of last year but they're worse this year they they just got dragged at home Well, I don't even know.
Speaker 1 Was it Tulsa or Tulane?
Speaker 20 It was Tulsa.
Speaker 55 And Tulane, I guess you can understand it.
Speaker 34 Tulane's not a bad football team. Tulane.
Speaker 11 Tulsa is always bad.
Speaker 38 Tulsa is not.
Speaker 26 Tulsa doesn't belong to be playing on the same surface as Oklahoma.
Speaker 30
They're going to get their ass kicked at home next week, too. They have Baylor.
They're going to lose that game, too.
Speaker 14 Put it on the poll
Speaker 14 at Lebetard show. Has Tulsa ever even one time been good at football? Yes or no? I just, I want to know because I just associate Tulsa.
Speaker 14 You tell me that name, and I'm just always associating that with bad college football.
Speaker 29 Also, geographically, strange place to have a hurricane.
Speaker 48 I never really got that mascot name for Tulsa.
Speaker 30 How about Indiana? You see Indiana kill Illinois?
Speaker 35 Dude, Mendoza might be the real deal.
Speaker 30 He's good. He's from here, right? Yeah, yeah, he was.
Speaker 58 He was a Cal quarterback that gave Miami everything that they could handle.
Speaker 28 He was one of those quarterbacks that was linked to Miami in the offseason.
Speaker 37 By the way,
Speaker 37 John Matier, Mendoza, Carson Beck were the three quarterbacks that Miami was pursuing this offseason. All three guys are probably
Speaker 48 in New York York right now if you were to pull Heisman voters.
Speaker 30 How about Indiana though? Indiana jumped up from number 19 to 11 in the poll after crushing number nine Illinois. One spot behind, one lost Texas.
Speaker 35 That's Indiana.
Speaker 26 Look at Indiana's schedule because they always find a way to get these sweetheart schedules.
Speaker 48 They'll have some tough conference tests, but to do that to a top 10 team, it seems like Signetti is going to be in that conversation, that playoff conversation.
Speaker 25 They've already shown that a Big Ten team, that TCB's like that, they don't need to play anybody non-conference, and that's what he's banking on.
Speaker 14 What do you guys think of this Paul Feinbaum quote on Dabbo? It's time for him to do one of two things.
Speaker 14
It's either consider another school, and I think he is hireable if he quits talking, or just get away from football and become a TV guy. He's very funny.
He'd be very glib.
Speaker 14 He's got more credentials than any other non-TV coach out there of the people that could leave coaching and go into TV. He would be very coveted.
Speaker 46 There's another solution.
Speaker 46 Fully embrace the portal.
Speaker 28 I know it's not part of that program's identity.
Speaker 28 I think their best player on the D-line is like the one transfer portal.
Speaker 30 They have have what, like, three transfer portal kids, I think, on the team this year, right?
Speaker 36 And they're some of the better players on that roster.
Speaker 30 Why can't he just adjust?
Speaker 28 Just give yourself over to where college football is and stop thinking that you have all the answers.
Speaker 46 He very clearly thinks that he does have all the answers from how his program's built to last.
Speaker 56 I mean, Paul Feinbaum may be wrong, like, stop talking.
Speaker 48 That should be one because he's not doing himself favors.
Speaker 34 He's becoming a joke.
Speaker 23 Well, you're right.
Speaker 17 He should
Speaker 17 invest in the portal because teams that do are ranked number two in the nation, to use an example. But the problem with Feinbaum's comment is Dabbo Sweeney's got a very impressive resume.
Speaker 17 So, what are you saying? He's not allowed a one-on-three start?
Speaker 14 Well, he's just three, I think, three of his last four seasons have three losses or more in them. And so, he, of course, he's allowed a one-on-three start, but this is what the dissent looks like.
Speaker 25 It's not up for argument.
Speaker 30 He's kind of not allowed a one-on-one.
Speaker 2 He won the ACC last season with three losses, and he was in the playoff.
Speaker 29 Yeah. And if you don't believe that, ask Dabo.
Speaker 64 He'll be very quick to remind you of that.
Speaker 14 It's not just three losses, though, Greg.
Speaker 14 You're supposed to get right against Syracuse at home. Agreed.
Speaker 13 It's a bad loss.
Speaker 1 And it's not like...
Speaker 28 It's not a loss in which everyone's like questioning your...
Speaker 25 The difference between this Dabbo team.
Speaker 1 It's not a bad team.
Speaker 47 No, although their season's probably going to fall off some because Angeli, who's been really good for them, had a non-contact injury that wipes him out for the season.
Speaker 37 So that's not going to be a loss at age as well, I don't think.
Speaker 28 But usually when he's at these forks in the road where Tyler from Spartanburg's going at him
Speaker 34 or they lose to these other teams, he's very good to back up his words with a good performance.
Speaker 49 And to lose at home a conference game, 17 and a half point favorite and not have,
Speaker 56 they were never in that game.
Speaker 45 Syracuse totally controlled that game.
Speaker 50 That's not what this season was about for Clemson.
Speaker 32 They came in ranked top 10.
Speaker 30 Dabo versus Belichick up next.
Speaker 14 Syracuse,
Speaker 14 Fran Brown, their coach, is a good talker. He's the one who reminded us last year that he doesn't shower after they lose.
Speaker 14 Here he is after beating Dabo and presumptuous, and I presume Tyler as well, Ian Clemson.
Speaker 68 I don't care about what Vegas said.
Speaker 58 Nah, Vegas said Canelo was about to win.
Speaker 68 You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 68 Crawford said different.
Speaker 30 Does he understand?
Speaker 30 Vegas is not like a prediction.
Speaker 20 It's not what it is.
Speaker 67
No, they try to get action. Vegas said different.
It's not a prediction.
Speaker 14 Vegas said different.
Speaker 9

Speaker 10 I didn't think the pain from the shingles rash would affect simple, everyday tasks like bathing, getting dressed, or even walking around.
Speaker 11 I was wrong.
Speaker 10 Though not everyone at risk will develop it, 99% of people over the age of 50 already have the virus that causes shingles, and it could reactivate at any time.
Speaker 10
I developed it, and the blistering rash lasted for weeks. Don't learn the hard way, like I did.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist today. Sponsored by GSK.
Speaker 13 Don Lebatard.
Speaker 14 Is there back in my day?
Speaker 63 There is, actually.
Speaker 6 What?
Speaker 20 Are you not going to tell anyone? What?
Speaker 6 Wait a minute.
Speaker 38
You guys. Okay.
guys,
Speaker 8 it's a Tuesday.
Speaker 13 Stugats. Here's your guy, Greg Cody, with back in my day.
Speaker 13 Shut up with our health light.
Speaker 38 Okay, here it is.
Speaker 21 Sorry.
Speaker 13 Adultery.
Speaker 62 This is the Don Lebatar Show with the Stugats.
Speaker 14 Zaslow, how was your time with Mike Ryan tailgating as part of the ESPN Radio campus tour? I understand that Willis McGahy was wandering
Speaker 14 yammering and yelling into the sky, fueled by
Speaker 14 whatever it is that he was enjoying in terms of liquid.
Speaker 30 He made one of our videos for ESPN Radio unusable. Let's just put it that way.
Speaker 30
Willis was having a good time, though. Good for him.
We had a great time tailgating. I mean, like Mike said, we had a bunch of Florida Panthers who were hanging out with us.
Speaker 30
Mike knows how to do a good tailgate. I'll tell you something.
I've never been to a Mike Ryan tailgate. He knows how to do it.
Good music.
Speaker 30
I mean, it was lacking a little bit of the pearl jam, but whatever. I'm not a DJ.
Good music, good food, good drinks. And then, let me tell you something.
I sat with Mike for the game.
Speaker 30 Those seats, that's where I sit now.
Speaker 47 That's where I sit for all the games.
Speaker 14 The recliners and the televisions and all that stuff?
Speaker 39 That's where I sit for all the games now.
Speaker 14 Okay, you mentioned that, but you didn't give me any further details on what.
Speaker 30 Big, comfortable seats, lots of legroom. Sometimes I like to, you know,
Speaker 30 I want to, you know, spread out a little bit.
Speaker 1 I want to be comfortable.
Speaker 30 I can stand when I want. I can sit when I want.
Speaker 60 Drinks flowing.
Speaker 30
There's food. You got the TVs right there.
What a great.
Speaker 30 That's where I sit now.
Speaker 14 You mentioned that.
Speaker 1 Wait a minute.
Speaker 17 Are you a golden cane like Mike?
Speaker 30 I mean...
Speaker 17 No?
Speaker 30
Yeah. Look, I don't get involved in that minutiae.
I'm just telling you, that's where I sit.
Speaker 24 It's for someone else to figure out.
Speaker 49 But Sazlo walks into that barn.
Speaker 50 That's where he sits.
Speaker 14 Michigan won at Nebraska this weekend. What's the name of their interim coach, Biff Something?
Speaker 14 Their interim coach.
Speaker 14 How was he going to celebrate after it is that
Speaker 14 they beat Nebraska and Matt Ruhl, host of the House Rules podcast?
Speaker 28 What are you going to do tonight to celebrate?
Speaker 5 I'm going to eat some Haagen-Das coffee ice cream with my wife and smoke a Cuban cigar and then probably go to the hospital.
Speaker 38 I love that last part.
Speaker 23 He was also great on game day.
Speaker 28 Sabin was interviewing him.
Speaker 56 He's like, I remember when you were down there at St.
Speaker 44 Francis paying players.
Speaker 16 He's like, I learned that from you, coach.
Speaker 30 When he's at the hospital at the end of the night, he's like, is this a great night?
Speaker 14 Yes, let's play it again.
Speaker 41 Yes, ice cream and cigars in the hospital. That's a good night.
Speaker 6 That's a good night.
Speaker 28 What are you going to do tonight to celebrate?
Speaker 5 I'm going to eat some Haagen-Az coffee ice cream with my wife and smoke a Cuban cigar and then probably go to the hospital.
Speaker 6 Cigar.
Speaker 30 He's high-fiving the nurses, you know?
Speaker 5 Probably go to the hospital.
Speaker 17 Smoking a cigar in the hospital, like guy.
Speaker 34 By the way, Nebraska, don't be afraid to win one of these.
Speaker 14 Mike, how was the game day experience?
Speaker 40 So I heard from a lot of people at ESPN.
Speaker 25 They're like, man,
Speaker 24 this is better than 2017.
Speaker 28 I didn't think so.
Speaker 34 I think 2017 had just by volume, more people there.
Speaker 28 And it also happened later in the season, so the weather was better.
Speaker 37 Shout out to all those kids over there.
Speaker 46 It was a hot one.
Speaker 28 Florida, South Florida in particular, especially with a bunch of students from the Northeast, not exactly a hockey town.
Speaker 28 Matthew Chuck, clearly hindered by this injury, did his best to get the people there, but it was all about the moment with Pat McAfee and the speedo going off the diving board.
Speaker 47 I think overall, it was just a great weekend for the University of Miami.
Speaker 37 Shout out to that athletics department, Joe Ed Chabaria, the president, Cam Gorby, the SID.
Speaker 28 Chris Ball came off great in his interviews.
Speaker 49 The campus looked beautiful on television.
Speaker 28 It looked like a place you wanted to be. And then it's not the prettiest game, but Miami TC Beeson looks physically dominant against an in-state rival.
Speaker 55 Just pretty much ends a billion API experience at Florida and looks a certain way.
Speaker 47 Looks like a legit contender.
Speaker 64 And on a neutral field,
Speaker 36 I'd concede to the champs, I think that Ohio State is better than Miami, probably a little bit more experience, more depth.
Speaker 37 Certainly, Miami's got to stay healthy.
Speaker 31 But the neutral field this year in the national title game is in Miami.
Speaker 30 Isn't quarterfinals also here, right?
Speaker 37 Miami looks a certain way, and I think they'll have a really good test.
Speaker 46 Now, it's a weird schedule for them.
Speaker 29 They're only going to play one game in the next 20 days, but that game's against Florida State, which, by the way, not the easiest opponent on Friday when they go up to Charlottesville against Virginia.
Speaker 54 That team can move the ball.
Speaker 24 I don't think it's going to be a low-scoring one, but I think FSU in this game might fortify some things that will get them feeling good about their offense, but won't exactly be where they can win this game because Miami's going to give you a different energy along those trenches.
Speaker 30 As a Keynes fan, you want FSU to beat Virginia, though, right?
Speaker 6 I do, but I'm...
Speaker 8 Hey, don't overlook the Who's.
Speaker 59 Don't overlook Chandler Morris.
Speaker 34 They can move the ball.
Speaker 14 A couple of things I do want to say, though.
Speaker 14 I've known Mario Cristobal, okay, since he was an offensive lineman in college, and I've told you that his brother's a good deal more intense and menacing, his older brother is, than he is.
Speaker 14 Mario Cristobal works extraordinarily hard and is usually soaked in an inordinate amount of stress.
Speaker 14 The way that he is presently carrying himself in interviews is as a man who is really confident in the players that he has.
Speaker 14 Lane Kiffin told us when that group of men were coaching in Alabama that they would walk onto the field and just know that they had the bigger, stronger, faster players every single time that they were walking onto the football field.
Speaker 14 Cristobal has had some of that stress pour off of him in these interviews where he doesn't seem nearly as much under duress.
Speaker 30
I noticed it too. He was really kind to me.
He gave me a lot of time over the weekend as well for ESPN. And he
Speaker 30 obviously, it has a lot to do with the current state of the program. I mean, he was really nice and really forthcoming with me.
Speaker 2 It's Mario Christopher go on any show but this one, it seems, huh?
Speaker 2 Craig Cody twice, Zazzo for an extended period of time.
Speaker 17 You know what? Mario is so confident in his team right now. He can't even convey publicly what he thinks of his team.
Speaker 17 It's one of those situations where he has to be careful what he says publicly, because I just think he's supremely confident.
Speaker 17 I think before the Notre Dame game, he thought he knew he was going to win.
Speaker 17 I think before the South Florida game, he knew he was going to win easily. He can't say that, but I've never seen him so confident in the roster he has.
Speaker 19 Would you agree, Mike?
Speaker 28 Teams with this type of advantage along the trenches, they're going to be in every game.
Speaker 59 You're not going to blow out a team with that offensive line, and now you can add the defensive line.
Speaker 37 We kind of said this last year.
Speaker 28 You don't blow out teams with that offensive line.
Speaker 26 Miami, to their credit, lost two games by a combined nine points.
Speaker 64 We're in every game.
Speaker 36 It's different this year.
Speaker 37 You know, they're not going to abandon the run game like they have last year.
Speaker 48 They blew the Syracuse game, which they were leading 21-0, and they were running at seven yards a clip, and they were still
Speaker 58 chasing awards and whatnot.
Speaker 55 They couldn't break themselves because they were so desperate down here for 20 years to get a quarterback that looked like Cam Ward.
Speaker 55 Once he had the toy, your identity was Cam's going to figure it out.
Speaker 28 Cam's going to save us. That's not the identity here.
Speaker 44 Carson Beck, I don't have it today.
Speaker 28 Let's hand it to Mark Fletcher. He'll get hit at the line of scrimmage three yards in, and then that line of scrimmage will then move seven more yards.
Speaker 28 because everybody in mass is just going to physically dominate the opponent.
Speaker 17 Now, granted, the Florida defensive line was depleted by injury a little bit, but I don't think I've ever seen a UM offensive line physically play that well against a good defense.
Speaker 17 UM is so complete
Speaker 17
all over the field right now. I just don't see a weakness other than what you mentioned, depth.
But if they're starting 24 are healthy, they're as good as anybody in the country other than OSU.
Speaker 14 Speaking,
Speaker 14 starting 24?
Speaker 17 Punter and kicker.
Speaker 8 Pretty important. Yeah.
Speaker 2 Chris did the research this weekend.
Speaker 14 Yeah, in fact, this is a little bit delayed, but...
Speaker 17 Yo, chicken thine!
Speaker 21 I don't believe it was 50 minutes of research! I don't actually do 50 minutes of research on anything!
Speaker 20 Why don't you look up the research
Speaker 20 to return to human lives?
Speaker 38 Why don't you do something? Why don't you look at the box turrets? Are they peaking too soon, Super Ask?
Speaker 38 The nervous woman!
Speaker 21 The photo that shows every game
Speaker 20 and the thing
Speaker 20 makes and misses in every game.
Speaker 14 Speaking of confidence, in the history of sports media people, how many are there who could pull off what McAfee did this weekend? Give me the names of the people who do that stuff.
Speaker 14 The game day experience, it's hard to transition from Lee Corso to something that is younger and has more energy, but him upping the ante on multi, you know, $100,000, $200,000, $300,000, $500,000 field goal kicks and then- Pathetic kicks this week.
Speaker 28 I mean, that is life-changing money for you and your boys, and he gave you a second chance.
Speaker 52 Pathetic.
Speaker 56 And you can bank it in.
Speaker 1 You know, it's legit.
Speaker 28 Like, a lot of people just assume, like, ah, ESPN takes care of Pat on the back end. No, he makes these spur-of-the-moment decisions, and he's the one that fronts the money.
Speaker 48 He's got a, on that game, I think that's the best version of Pat McAfee.
Speaker 28 I really do. He leans into what makes that show special.
Speaker 30 See him feeding Sabin the Gator sandwich. He got Nick Sabin on camera to take
Speaker 6 out of a huge sandwich.
Speaker 59 And for Pat McAfee to pull off that big moment at the end and make it feel big when david pollack did that in 2017
Speaker 2 jenna sims did that earlier in the show and it still felt bigger because of the the personality and the and just the general star power that pat mcfee had a star everyone was following him around on game like the crowds of people wherever he would walk to if he was switching stages if he was going over to the field goal contest like he had crowds of people following him everyone had their phones out where's pat where's pat like that guy commands a crowd i did get to speak to to Chucky, though.
Speaker 28 If Chucky wasn't fresh off of surgery, Chucky would have been right there up there with him, jumping off that thing.
Speaker 11 This guy was tough. They had that conversation.
Speaker 20 That would have been.
Speaker 1 That would have been a look. That would have been a look.
Speaker 6 I'm out for two more.
Speaker 31 Hey, everyone. It's Mike Ryan.
Speaker 29 One thing about me that everybody knows, I absolutely love Miller Light.
Speaker 43 You know what else I love?
Speaker 54 You.
Speaker 8 That's right.
Speaker 11 You.
Speaker 31 Listening on your way to work right now, wondering whether or not today is the day to tell your boss what you really think of the new reports he needs filled out every week.
Speaker 54 I absolutely love you.
