Hey, everybody, I'm Seth Meyers.
Do you remember December 17, 2005?
I do, because it's the day SNL first aired the digital short Lazy Sunday by The Lonely Island, a sketch that changed SNL forever and literally started people watching YouTube.
And now, to celebrate those digital shorts, myself, Andy Sandberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Yormit Tacone have a new podcast, the Lonely Island and Seth Meyers podcast, where we're going to dive back into each of those digital shorts, how they came about, and what else happened on SNL that episode.
Basically, Higgins and Shu came, said, whoa, that aired, do it again.
And we were immediately out of ideas.
We had been at the show maybe two months, and we were like, we got nothing else.
We're going to discuss them in order, which means the good and the bad.
And sometimes, if I'm being honest, the bad are more fun to talk about.
Should we say frapping anytime we're talking about times when we were performing our lyrics?
I think that's fair.
Frapping is a term we've coined for fake rapping.
Oh, interesting.
Find out how the sausage got made, or in this case, how the dick got in the box.
That I was in a corner talking to myself, just being like, What if a present was a dick inside a box, like in that movie Tiner?
And then Andy was like, Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, what'd you just say?
