Speaker 1 Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome.
Speaker 1 On this magical Overreaction Monday, November 10th, 2025, this program begins right now.
Speaker 1 Football! It is awesome, and we had a great weekend of ball, and we can't wait to dive into all of it. Now, first things first, we'd like to say happy birthday to the Marine Corps.
Speaker 1 Turns 250 years old today.
Speaker 1 Older than the United States of America.
Speaker 1
Started as a militia in a bar. Now it's a group of badass dogs who obviously say, yeah, I'll go.
First the fight is their mantra, Urah, kill slay. Happy birthday to them.
Speaker 1 And also, a big announcement tomorrow, we will be live from Paris Island, which is the Marines boot camp for the eastern half of the United States of America down in South Carolina for Veterans Day.
Speaker 1 We'll be down there and we're going to be the, I think, the only show that'll be live from a military base tomorrow.
Speaker 1 And I think we're potentially the only show that's ever been live from Paris Island, obviously the home of the Marines.
Speaker 1 And everything that we'll be kind of showcasing and chit-chatting about tomorrow will hopefully be one big thank you to all the folks that signed the line saying they were willing to go to war for this particular country that I'm lucky to call home.
Speaker 1
And I can't thank you all enough for allowing us to do this. And tomorrow should be pretty epic.
There's going to be a lot of pop-ins and a lot of features from a lot.
Speaker 1 lot of different people and it should be exciting.
Speaker 1 So happy birthday to the Marines and tomorrow we will certainly be honoring our vets in a big way from Paris Island as we get a chance to chit-chat about the greatest thing on earth, which is sports.
Speaker 1
Sports unify the world. It is what makes everything special.
And this past weekend, we had a good one. The toxic tables here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt.
One half of the hammer.
Speaker 1
Don't Cowboys AP Tonis here. The beard's coming back, buddy.
It is coming back. It's good to see.
Speaker 3 It's good to see.
Speaker 1 Like the mirror, you're saying? Yeah.
Speaker 1 That's a good length right there.
Speaker 3 Because, you know, found out didn't have a chin. Forgot.
Speaker 1
You found that out? Yeah, okay. I didn't know.
one day.
Speaker 3 I
Speaker 3 used to.
Speaker 1 You think?
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah, yeah. 18-year-old Tony.
Oh,
Speaker 1 young Bokar in the breaking out.
Speaker 3 I don't know what happened, got soft, but here we are.
Speaker 1
No, I think it's because you have such a good beard. Your chin said, I'm never coming back.
Look how good this beard is. Let me go ahead and take some time off.
Speaker 1 On that note,
Speaker 1 big things happening back in Pittsburgh this weekend. College Game Day.
Speaker 1 We'll be going to the University of Pittsburgh and the city of Pittsburgh on a Saturday for a full college game day day for the first time in 20 years as Notre Dame is still a very number five ranked team in the country, still very much in college football, playoff conversation, national championship hunt.
Speaker 1
They're becoming the team that they hope that they would be early in the season. A couple tough teams they played.
You know, lose the Texas A ⁇ M at home.
Speaker 1 Texas A ⁇ M, the only undefeated team in the SEC still.
Speaker 1
They lose to Miami. At the time, Miami was a wagon.
Now, some things have happened in Miami. throughout the season, but at the time, those losses I thought were devastating.
Speaker 1 Then you watch those two teams play, it's like, oh, maybe not that that bad of losses early. And also, we would like more teams to play good teams, especially early in the season.
Speaker 1
So maybe we don't punish Notre Dame for the first two weeks of the season. Maybe we kind of let it all play out.
They've been kicking everybody's ass. And now they got Pitt.
Speaker 1
Pitt's still very much in it for the ACC title. Pitt can make the college football playoff.
Nobody talks about Pitt. Pitt still has a road to the college football playoff and the ACC championship.
Speaker 1 And Narduzi and the boys are the same Pitt team that you know. They're a tough bunch.
Speaker 1 And their fans, I think, are excited for Saturday College Game Day coming outside of Ackrasher Stadium down there on the North Shore, just a few yards from Rivers Casino. Okay.
Speaker 1 And that's why I had to mention it because whenever I saw the location, I was like, well, can certainly get to Rivers Casino there quickly because Rivers Casino is a place downtown on North Shore right next to all the stadiums, basically.
Speaker 1
Whenever you come into town, you go there, you just kind of tip Pittsburgh. You say, hey, you know what, thanks for having me this weekend.
Please look over me and bless me. And you lose.
Speaker 1 I don't think I've ever walked out of Rivers Casino as a winner, but it feels like a ritual just go in there and say, thank you, Pittsburgh. Okay.
Speaker 1 walk around, say hello to some people, lose some money, win some, give it right back somewhere else, and then go have a time in Pittsburgh. That's right around the corner.
Speaker 1
This is going to be pretty epic, I do believe. A lot of Irish people in Pittsburgh as well.
So who knows how many Notre Dame fans will be there.
Speaker 1 But I know the University of Pittsburgh students are certainly jacked up, and I'm excited to get back over there. And I think there'll be a lot of good beards.
Speaker 1 If not good beards, there'll be good jawlines, you know, as you kind of came and go as Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 Yeah, it's a good beard city. Yes, there are a lot of Notre Dame fans that live in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 The guy on the right in that graphic, Mason Heinscheld, a quarterback for Pitt, true freshman, they are undefeated since he has taken over the starting job this year. He's a bit of a phenom.
Speaker 3 So, yeah, it'll be a good game. And Pitt only one loss in the ACC with a lot of ACC teams that have one loss and they're going for the playoffs.
Speaker 1 And this does not count as an ACC game for them. Obviously, if they were to lose any others, they have no bid to get in there.
Speaker 1
So them beating Notre Dame, massive for the University of Pittsburgh, especially a freshman quarterback there. And then Notre Dame has to win to make it.
So huge stakes.
Speaker 1
Other big games around the country. You know, Texas, Georgia, I believe was happening down there in Athens.
That's going to be gigantic. I think Ole Miss is hosting Florida.
Speaker 1
I think that's going to be a big game. I think the ticket price is going insane for down there in Ole Miss.
So college football should deliver.
Speaker 1
But it would be nice to be in a town that, you know, hasn't had it in like 20 years, a football town. Yeah.
And a lot of people watch some pick games and maybe see yellow seats.
Speaker 1 You know, maybe it's not filled up down there at that time. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Pittsburgh's a football city. Notre Dame's coming to town.
Speaker 3 It'll be filled.
Speaker 1 I think it's going to be.
Speaker 2 Are you worried?
Speaker 2 Me? Yeah, about the WV
Speaker 1
WVU Pitts time. Yeah, the way it was worded there by the social media post, Pat's coming home.
It's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Pittsburgh is home.
Speaker 1
Pitt, definitely not. No.
I mean, just like
Speaker 1
complete off. Have you had good times in Oakland? Yeah, certainly.
We all have.
Speaker 1 I mean, I think I probably have more good times in Oakland than most of the people in school probably right now at the University of Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 Obviously, I have a lot of friends that went to Pitt being from Pittsburgh. But yeah, in the whole sports thing.
Speaker 1 And who won the backyard ball this year?
Speaker 1
Okay, so I'm going in there in a good spot, but they certainly have some things that they can certainly say to me as well. Yeah, I'm excited for it.
I'm excited for the job.
Speaker 1
I'm just pumped, just like with Texas Tech. If Lubbock, I'm excited to go to a place that hasn't had it in a long time.
You know, like learning about new places, new traditions.
Speaker 1
Like, Lubbock was insane, dude. They were so nice to us.
Like, they were very, very thankful we were there. Very appreciative.
Everybody. I mean, John McGuire comes our show.
Speaker 1
They bring a damn horse inside. Yeah, Centennial Champions.
That's just right on the show.
Speaker 1
Let alone like everything else that was going there. It was like, they were so thankful and hospitable.
And they wanted to showcase the world. Like, yeah, we love ball here.
Speaker 1
Like, that's basically what they wanted to do. And it was an honor to be down there.
And it lived up to the Texas Tech fans. There were signs that were saying, like, Mormons versus alcoholics.
Speaker 1
Like, they were like proud. Yeah.
Like, hey, we can hammer some drinks around here. And they certainly did.
It's great to catch up with Danny Amendola. He was around there.
Got a chance.
Speaker 1
to meet all the people that have kind of pieced this entire thing together. And they were all incredibly kind.
They love ball down down there.
Speaker 1
And they got the team and the money behind them and the community, I think, to be special for a long, long time. They get a huge win over BYU in the Big 12 race.
And Texas Tech is for real.
Speaker 1 But it was nice to, you know, kind of experience new college football stuff. For me, just selfishly sitting on the stage there, new to the entire world.
Speaker 1
It was cool to experience that and what they're about. And obviously, I know Pittsburgh very well, the city.
I don't know a lot of pitch traditions and football stuff well at all. Okay.
Speaker 1 I know if Dorrell Rivis catches a punt from me, he makes everybody miss a score, scores a touchdown. I know that's a tradition.
Speaker 1
It seems like I think he's potentially going to be in the building this weekend. Aaron Donald, I think, is going to be over there.
He's getting his number retired.
Speaker 1 Yeah, I think Tony Dorset is going to be there.
Speaker 1 Bringing out the big guys.
Speaker 1
I think it's going to be a, this is not for game day. This is for the, this is for the game.
I don't know what's going on with game day yet, but like, yeah, there's a lot.
Speaker 1
And then let alone, I think Shady potentially, I think there, it was on an email where I saw the name. It's like, I think Tyler Balco is going to be hold the phone.
You know? Yeah, I saw an email.
Speaker 1
I saw his name. Also got a message, I think, from Palco family.
He said, hey, listen, as you know.
Speaker 3 He loves his team.
Speaker 1
Tyler Palco loves University of Pittsburgh. And just over 20 years ago, you know, Tyler Palco threw for six touchdowns against Notre Dame.
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 Tyler Palco with his sweet hair and incredible looks. And then what's that? What do you do after that?
Speaker 3 What do you say on national TV?
Speaker 1 Drop the F-bomb on live TV.
Speaker 4 It was awesome. I still remember it like it was yesterday.
Speaker 1 Tyler of Palco.
Speaker 1 So I think there's going to be, you know, it should be an amazing weekend downtown North Shore there. And I don't know if it's just going to be pit people there.
Speaker 1 I assume the city's going to show up, but I think there's potentially a lot of Notre Dame people that are going to come through as well. So it should be a pretty electrifying environment.
Speaker 1 Notre Dame has always been good to College Game Day since I've been on it. Every time we go up to Notre Dame, it's like the biggest crowd of all time, and their fans are literally everywhere.
Speaker 1 So I think Pittsburgh has a chance to be epic this weekend, and we're going to be showcasing local food as well.
Speaker 3 Only the best.
Speaker 1
That's what happened to your chin. That's what happened to your jaw.
When you started slandering good things from the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I've never done that.
You did.
Speaker 1
That's when your jaw said, I'm not going to be a part of this and quit. That's when your jaw quit on you.
You need to know that.
Speaker 3 Things were a little too good around here. I had to stir it up a bit.
Speaker 1 Well,
Speaker 1 Rudy Subbs will be obviously
Speaker 1
on this weekend. Cannot wait for that.
And maybe a couple other Paisanos foods make some appearances in there. It should be a great weekend.
Rizzoles?
Speaker 3 Stop.
Speaker 1 Anything but Rudy he that's a good question
Speaker 1 og perhaps pink button neither of those places hold on hold please wait wait i'm not saying that please i'm not saying that whoa nine-year-and
Speaker 1 a man who has a good football brain but clearly
Speaker 1 those things
Speaker 5 whoa maybe it was the fact they came out of kaboli's cargo shorts but yeah
Speaker 1 Eating out of Kaboli's nature's microwave, he called his cargo shorts his pocket that was sitting there for four hours, is when it's a bad scene.
Speaker 1 You need to change your tune right now when you're talking about Rudy's because this no-jaw having guy started saying it the other day. The city of Pittsburgh started reacting.
Speaker 1 Now you're starting to throw it in there.
Speaker 5 What did the city say?
Speaker 1 What? Did they agree or disagree? There was a couple notable moths over there in Pittsburgh that said, excuse me, maybe Tone's onto something. I was like, no, he is not.
Speaker 1
I don't know if I'm, I don't like this. This is what's wrong with modern society.
Okay. Everybody wants to be a part of something, even if they don't believe it.
Speaker 1
They just want, you know, I do want to be a part of something. I'm going to lie completely.
Tone started this thing. Foxy spotlighted it, amplified it.
Okay.
Speaker 1
And then you've got people saying, you know what? Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. Jumping on board.
I'm like, no, you haven't. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Rudy's subs is the best subs in Pittsburgh, and we will certainly all be enjoying them. Can I say something real quick?
Speaker 3 I just want to say something real quick because Connor said it.
Speaker 1 I looked it up.
Speaker 3 There's not one fizzolis in all of Pennsylvania.
Speaker 1 Okay, well, nor should there be that. We knew that.
Speaker 2 Nor should there be.
Speaker 1 Okay, let's go.
Speaker 1
Let's move along. Okay.
Pittsburgh, the only thing we need to be talking about is the Steelers, am I right? Oh, what a students fest. They can't hurt us anymore.
A nine-year-old NFL vet, Darius J.
Speaker 1
Butler is here with terrible food takes and incredible football takes, and that's what he's here for. You look very cool with the hat.
I don't know what's going on.
Speaker 1
What's for? Lawson foul. It's always race season.
What is that? What is that, folks? Hey, we're coming to the end of a great season, boys.
Speaker 5 All right.
Speaker 1
We're right in the middle of it, actually. We got eight more weeks.
No, no.
Speaker 5 The F1 season, the pinnacle. Obviously, football is the real pinnacle, but this is the pinnacle of motorsport.
Speaker 1 Yeah, they're doing it right now? Oh, they are doing it. When, when, when?
Speaker 5 They just did it in Brazil. Yes, now.
Speaker 1 Oh, I don't have YouTube TV.
Speaker 1
I guess I can't see. You gotta get that.
That's a shame. All right, that's what come up.
You gotta get it. What's that? F1 TV.
Oh, they're trying to gouge their fans? Okay, I don't like that.
Speaker 1
I don't like that at all. Okay, let's move along to a sport.
Congrats to G1. Having a great season.
Absolutely.
Speaker 5 Lando picked the leap.
Speaker 1 Nobody saw it.
Speaker 5 Who won? Lando Norris. Again, I'm Lord.
Speaker 1 Oh, Lando. This guy cheats every time.
Speaker 2 Also, do not pass on congratulations.
Speaker 1 Who, Lando did on?
Speaker 2 No, me to F1.
Speaker 1 Okay, you're saying everybody else saying congratulations or collapse. You say not I.
Speaker 2 No, not high.
Speaker 1 Yeah, it is football season. And on that note, you know, in most football situations, there's a first 15.
Speaker 1 It is a scripted first 15 plays that offensive coordinators have to kind of see how the defense will react to their different formations and styles. It's very important to an entire game.
Speaker 1 So whenever you see a team go on a field and go three and out, that really just kicks them right in the balls because the rest of the game was going to be dependent upon how those first 15 plays were going.
Speaker 1
Those first 15 plays, well thought out. Well thought out.
Oh, yeah. A lot of conversation.
Speaker 1
A lot of decisions are made. And for us, we want to have the same thing because this is a ball show.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for our overreaction Monday. First 15.
Speaker 1 Now, this is driven by Ram. And if you hit the gas pedal of a Ram truck, the only thing you're going to hear is
Speaker 1 and the only thing you're going to feel like is a king because Ram trucks have the power you need and the luxury you deserve.
Speaker 1
Ram trucks. Okay, now let's get to our first 15.
Now put the clock up, please. What we're going to do differently, see? See? Yes.
Oh, okay. Yes.
Second half of the season. Okay.
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 You see, we're getting better.
Speaker 3 Some time of possession here.
Speaker 1 Yeah. First half of the season here, we're kind of back.
Speaker 1 We're still in it. You know, we're still playing meaningful football games in November.
Speaker 1 We're not sellers at the trade deadline by any means, but we certainly weren't just dominating, you know, because we kept saying first 15, it's not about the time, it's about the plays.
Speaker 1 But then we put a 15-minute clock up there and everybody's like, hey, it's 42 minutes. So what's the clock for? And we said, you know what? You're right.
Speaker 1 Instead of counting down, we need to give no barriers to ourselves.
Speaker 1 We need to explore everything in this first 15. Why would we be setting up a three and out? Why would we be setting up a slowdown of any good conversation, a stoppage of any play that we need?
Speaker 1
So we're starting at zero. We're counting up.
Let's see how long today goes. Let's get this thing started with the top five headlines coming out of the NFL slate.
Speaker 1
Number five, not all ass teams are ass all the time. Now, what are you saying by that? Well, what I'm saying is some of these teams we've all just deemed ass.
We say, oh, that squad there, ass.
Speaker 1 That team right there, not worth a damn. That team can't beat any team, let alone an NFL team or a good NFL team.
Speaker 1 And what we need to remember, Debutch, and I think this does get forgotten about whenever it comes to maybe the larger scale of football fans and NFL fans, these are all professional athletes who are paid to try to play football good and to strategize against other teams, just like the good squads.
Speaker 1 So whenever we were two and 14, whenever we lost for two and yeah, two and 14, whenever we got Andrew Luck, there was like nine games that were one-score games that if the ball just so happened to
Speaker 1 and then pop up into some guy that played one NFL game in his life and it was this particular game, and he just goes into the end zone, we win that game.
Speaker 1 So it's like, I think people just start to decide if a team is good and can win or if a team is bad and can't win any game.
Speaker 1 And then you kind of just toss away any of the wins that happen throughout the season with the bad teams. And then if they end up beating a team, oh my God, fool panic.
Speaker 1
It happened down there in Miami with the Buffalo Beatles. Now, Josh Allen has struggled in Miami in the past.
We all do recall a couple bad games for Josh down in Miami. That would continue.
Speaker 1 And this Miami Dolphins team, we all call ass. These teams ass.
Speaker 1 Instead, they still got Waddle. And allegedly, there were some teams, including the Buffalo Bills, that were looking for Waddle.
Speaker 1 Even a first-rounder in 2027 was offered up from a couple of teams for Waddle because of how incredible he is at football. But we all think he's really good.
Speaker 1 He needs to get the hell out of there because they're a bad team. And here they are on a Sunday, and they're beating the Buffalo Bills and not just beating them, pounding them in all three phases.
Speaker 1
There was a moment in the fourth quarter. It was 16-0 in the fourth quarter.
There was a moment there where Josh Allen scores a touchdown. It's like, hold the phone.
Wait a minute.
Speaker 1 Has Josh Allen finally got over his Miami flu? Is Josh Allen potentially about to turn this entire thing around?
Speaker 1 Are the Buffalo Bills about to do to the Miami Dolphins what we all expect to do, just steal their joy and their hope in the fourth quarter? And the Miami Dolphins answered D-But.
Speaker 1
I mean, it was an ass kicking. Even when the Bills started, the Dolphins would answer.
Everybody says they're ass. Maybe they're not ass all the time, D.
Speaker 5
And you mentioned it, and they hear it. They hear it every day about how ass they are.
Not only the players, but the coaches, who's getting fired next, who's getting traded.
Speaker 5
Obviously, the trade deadline is over now. But the way these boys showed up, starting with HN, absolute game breaker, ran through them.
And this is the only place that the Dolphins beat the Bills.
Speaker 5
You mentioned that earlier as well. And this was kind of a ugly weather game.
It didn't show through on the camera much, but this was kind of some rain on and off, some sloppy. I love this.
Speaker 5 I know a lot of people have a lot of thoughts about this, so they're acting like they won the Super Bowl. But hey, winning, winning is an amazing feeling.
Speaker 5 You mentioned every week in the NFL is talented coaches, it's talented players. You know, we got so many breakdances and shit that are like, and my initial reaction was like, oh, this is too much.
Speaker 5
This is this. But then I'm like, okay, I'm an old guy.
I haven't been in a locker room.
Speaker 5 These are, you're coaching 20 to 30 year olds and you're excited about the win and you want to be excited about the win.
Speaker 5 So I love this, what I saw not only on the field from the Dolphins, but off the field, because Mike McDowell, he's been getting on the shins all year long.
Speaker 5 So, for him to have his boys come out and compete against a team that everybody picked, I'm sure a bunch of survivor picks. Oh, yeah, you lost a bunch of parlays, so straight-up wins.
Speaker 5 So, unbelievable outing by the Dolphins at home. Very impressed with this outing.
Speaker 1 This was Miami's first win versus the Bills since 2022. HAN won off, 174,
Speaker 1 six receptions for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Dolphins defense forced two fumbles, one interception, and ended up with three sacks.
Speaker 1
That's a hell of a day after trading away Jalen Phillips and also sending away all your best talent. Hembo sent over a stat about this Bills rush defense.
Week one, Derrick Henry won for 169.
Speaker 1
Bijan won for 170, and then A-Chain goes for 174. If you want to win, hey, if you want to win in the playoffs, they're going to have to figure that out.
They are going to have to figure that out.
Speaker 1
Now, obviously, these types of games are certainly possible for teams, and no fans want them to see them. But only one team in the history of the NFL has gone undefeated.
Okay, it's the 1972 Dolphins.
Speaker 1
Every once in a while, professional athletes are going to show up and put it together. And when that happens, they can beat anybody.
That is kind of what the NFL has kind of been built upon.
Speaker 1 Parody, parody, parody, any given Sunday. On yesterday, on yesterday's particular Sunday,
Speaker 1 good for you. One half of the hammer.
Speaker 1 Cowboys, bubblegum.
Speaker 1 Gumpy, how's it feel to be have a victory Monday here with the boys? Are you riding in the laundry rack?
Speaker 6
Yeah, this is what the Dolphins look like after Chris Greer's gone. That team still believes in Mike McDaniel.
You saw it in that video. Anthony Weaver called the best game he's had all year.
Speaker 6
Minka had a stop on that two-point conversion, just stuffed the guy at the line. Best the defense has looked all year.
Jake Bailey dropped one at the one.
Speaker 6 All three phases, just unbelievable from the Finn.
Speaker 1
So a GM and a president has hated this man in the building? Oh my God. Thank God he's gone.
That's what it's like down there. It feels like there was a new energy.
Speaker 1
And McDaniel, I mean, the way he's feeling, the way they're responding to him, it feels like there's like a, hey, we're behind you you type vibe. Good for the Dolphins.
Now, this could all change.
Speaker 1 Yeah, true. This could all just be,
Speaker 1
you know, take it in, boys. It's a good week.
Take it in, boys. This is the NFL.
Speaker 1
This is literally the NFL in a nutshell. And also, down in Miami later in the year, we got snow on the ground out here.
Going down into Miami, the humidity, that also plays effect.
Speaker 1
And also, there is a Miami flu. They've all been down there.
There's a lot of distractions. That's why we think it's going to be hard for the Dolphins to win.
Speaker 1 Other teams have also struggled down there as well.
Speaker 2 I mean, like Micah Fitzpatrick bringing it, I don't know if that was his first game as a Miami Dolphin, but I know he's been out for a little bit, him being back.
Speaker 2 And then, I mean, Ty dropped a bar about Jalen Phillips being out of the building.
Speaker 2 Like, you would assume, you know, trading your best player, Jalen Phillips on defense, at least, there might be a little bit of a, you know, falloff, but like, not at all.
Speaker 2 If anything, though, you know, you just said it, that was the best their defenses looked.
Speaker 1 Yeah, congrats to the Dolphins, get a big win. And to the Bills, okay, these types of losses open your eyes to what's possible in the bigger games down the road.
Speaker 1 They're going to have to get that fixed. And then you go to the NFC South.
Speaker 1 who's ass down there saints
Speaker 1 well who's not ass this year maybe panthers
Speaker 1 when you were football
Speaker 1 saints tyler shuck 75 year old rookie hallelujah dog absolute beast i think he had no turnovers or something like that i forget he had a bunch of rookie records for how he performed kelly mo might have a guy and when they drafted him i think it was like third round or something like that whenever they drafted him they forgot uh they acted like this was a starter and everybody was like well if this is your starter why wouldn't you you draft him early it's like well we knew what his value was we knew how people viewed him they liked him very very early he gets a win over the Carolina Panthers and a team that's one and eight somehow beats a team that's five and four and one and eight team we all said was ass and we're dead they get a huge win over the you know kind of new favorites around town you know we're not doing the pumps anymore nope we're not doing any pumps anymore hey
Speaker 1 Hey, all right, we're out of here.
Speaker 1
Got a message from Keegan. You know, Canalis is talk of the town.
Rico Dowdle might be the best player in football. All of a sudden, Carolina is up and to the right in a huge way.
Speaker 1
And the New Orleans Saints, just like their location on the map, nobody was talking about them way down there now. Nobody.
Hey, who are the ass teams? Well, the Jets and Saints. They're real bad.
Speaker 1
They're the ones that we're talking about with a college football team. Now, I don't think any of this year's college football teams, well, maybe this Ohio State team.
Honestly, we have no idea.
Speaker 1 I mean, there's a chance they're the greatest of all time. If they go through college football playoff the same exact way that they've been going through this season,
Speaker 1
and there is a a chance. People are going to do that.
Ohio State could beat NFL team. No chance.
Never could, by the way. That is not how it works.
Speaker 1 That is why people kind of get confused about how good NFL talent is.
Speaker 1 But the Saints would have been the team that was in that conversation whenever people started doing that later if the Ohio State kind of runs it.
Speaker 1 Them getting a big win is indicative of like, hey, when they show up, any team can be great.
Speaker 5
Once again, another coach having his boys ready to go. Tyler Shuck, he was past the job.
He earned the job, won the job over. I guess Spencer probably played himself out of it, but he showed up.
Speaker 5 Chris olave another guy who was loud on the trading block he showed up and had had a big game as well in both of those games with dolphins bills and then the saints panthers divisional games so you notice whenever records you got to throw those out the window when you're playing a team and a coach that's very familiar with those opponents eight minutes in still on the first one yep maybe we should have had the clock continued down instead of up tyler shuck is the first saints rookie to uh rookie quarterback to win a game since dave wilson in 1981 he was good zach wilson's puppy Yeah.
Speaker 1
Poppy's poppy. Oh, okay.
Yeah, I think he was potentially fodder spotter kind of thing.
Speaker 1
Arch had a tough time there with the Ains for a while. They did.
Yeah, they weren't the best football game. Arch the dog, though.
Oh, yeah. Everybody knows Arch was a dog.
And yeah,
Speaker 1
the Ains had some times. And then obviously Drew Brees, Sean Payton come in.
They beat a team in the Super Bowl with that kick on side kickstart second half. And we were losing at that time.
Speaker 1 There was a 22-year-old kid that was on the other team that thought he was getting the Super Bowl and didn't even know how to do his own job and didn't really have to contribute much, but got an A on a paper like he was Tyrese Halliburton at the Olympics.
Speaker 1 And said, yeah, I'm on side kick, pick six.
Speaker 1 We ain't ever going back.
Speaker 1
Hard times, brother. But good for the Saints.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Little baby with a headset on. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1
I walk into a locker room, contributing nothing. No ability to save game either at any time during that entire thing.
Kind of a spectator, if you will, but would have got a ring. Walk in there.
Speaker 1
Devastated. Boy.
Can't imagine. The most positive people I've ever seen in my life.
Speaker 1 Ruined in that locker room.
Speaker 1 And I didn't fully understand what was happening.
Speaker 3 We'll be back next year.
Speaker 1 We weren't.
Speaker 1 You're after you after it? No, we're almost completely defeated.
Speaker 1
Then all my friends were cut. GM was fired.
And we had Andrew Luck as quarterback.
Speaker 1 And what do we do?
Speaker 5 We'll be back.
Speaker 1 we we started started fighting back made playoffs oh yeah made it to nc championship oh my god then we did yeah what happened then we did what happened they retired amc title again how was it there well we got cheated yeah the balls
Speaker 1 still investigation why andrew retired this is the balls patriots
Speaker 1 this is the ball is patriots are using that's what bill and i science guy told me yeah i think bill and i science guy told me but nonetheless really hard makes super bowl saints win super bowl finally hey here it is here it is here it is and then kind of all goes to hell.
Speaker 1
This year's supposed to be hell. Absolutely.
But not all ass teams are ass
Speaker 1
all the time. Exactly.
That's number five, 10 minutes.
Speaker 1
It's got a number four headline coming out of the weekend. NFC favorites fornicate.
Four o'clock slate. Yeah, we all saw it.
Let's go to our nation's capital. Detroit Lions pounded.
Washington.
Speaker 1 I mean, just
Speaker 1 pounded the Washington Commanders. At one point during this game in the third quarter, the President of the United States was in the booth, and the Washington commander scored.
Speaker 1 And his first reaction was, that's good for ratings, right? That's good. This is actually kind of a game now as opposed to what it was.
Speaker 1 The Detroit Lions with Dan Campbell calling plays were exactly what the Detroit Lions last year with Ben Johnson were calling plays. He had glasses on.
Speaker 1 I guess it wasn't easy to tell from watching the game that he was certainly calling plays while he was actually talking and Jared Goff was nodding his head like this.
Speaker 1 And then Jolly Moe up in the booth wasn't saying really anything, but I guess couldn't, we didn't know for sure if he was calling plays.
Speaker 1 Turns out he was, and their entire offense is good, and their defense incredible.
Speaker 1 Kelvin Shepard, defense coordinator, first year, former teammate of ours, obviously now running the show for Detroit on defensive side. Might be in a room for that LSU job.
Speaker 1
I don't know if he wants it. Obviously, he just got defense coordinator job in the NFL.
That is a huge deal, one step away from an NFL head coaching job.
Speaker 1 I don't know if he, I've not directly asked him, but LSU, Kelvin Shepard, could be possible.
Speaker 1 So the Lions could be dealing with another turnover of a coordinator, which was the entire question going in.
Speaker 1
New offense coordinator, he's Don. Dan Campbell's now calling place.
So basically three offense coordinators in about two years, right? If you go Ben Johnson, new Johnny Moe, and Dan Campbell.
Speaker 1 Defense coordinator, obviously two in two years, and they're still dominating, and they're still at the top of the NFC, and they're still ruining a four o'clock slate.
Speaker 1 What did you learn yesterday from the Detroit Lions?
Speaker 5
Oh, you know what? Honestly, I'm going to be honest with you. I didn't learn much.
I knew they were a dominant team. I felt like the Detroit Lions are a legit contender to win it all this year.
Speaker 5
Jared Goff, just kind of ho-hum, another great game by him over 300 yards. You got Jameer Gibbs going.
He had a big day after having a bad outing last week against the Vikings. And then J-Mo.
Speaker 5 J-Mo made some noise a couple weeks ago. It was some noise around him, should I say, about him not getting the ball, not being using the offense.
Speaker 5
And Dan Campbell made it a point to get the ball, probably in his first 15, to get the ball to number one. And he made good with it.
So he got targets. He made his big plays.
Speaker 5
But yeah, we know what they are offensively. And defensively, the commanders are just so, so bad.
So it's, I didn't, honestly, I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 Now that's the team that's ass. Yeah.
Speaker 5 This was the outcome that was supposed to happen, in my opinion.
Speaker 1 But not ass all the time, which is why they're exactly Marcus Mariota would do his thing. If they put it together,
Speaker 1 good team. But if not, they look like they look, and especially against the Detroit Lions, you're ready.
Speaker 1 Foxy, there's some hembo stats here about the Lions offense through nine games, and they make a change at the offensive coordinator position.
Speaker 1 In 2024, Ben Johnson obviously ends up getting hired as a head coach as the bell of the ball because he's an offensive genius. 2.7 points per drive, 46% scoring drive, 33 touchdowns, 10 turnovers.
Speaker 1
2025, 2.8 points per drive, which is absurd, by the way. A field goal every time they get the ball, at least basically.
47% drive for score and 34 touchdowns, 6 turnovers.
Speaker 1
You guys are better than ever. And Dan Campbell's putting himself in a driver's seat.
What? Yeah, what the hell is going on?
Speaker 7
I'll tell you what, everyone is fired up about this. They loved that.
MCDC's calling plays. Jared Goff, over 300 yards, three touchdowns.
Jameer Gibbs, 173 total yards, three touchdowns.
Speaker 7
J-Mo, over 100 yards, a touchdown. Laporta had five catches.
St. Brown had five catches.
Everyone was getting the rock. Everyone was loving what this offense was doing.
Speaker 7
And we're rolling now, and we're not looking back anymore. Love you, Johnny Moe.
He had a lot to do with this play calling. But this is MCDC's offense now.
Okay, yeah.
Speaker 1
MCDC says, we got a lot of guys, Baron. We got a lot of guys.
A lot of miles to feed. Everybody's coming in my office on Monday saying, hey, it's Baltimore.
You know what? I will.
Speaker 1 It's awesome.
Speaker 7
I scored on every single possession in the game. No turnovers.
It was literally perfect.
Speaker 1 Yeah, I mean, the stats saying you're scoring almost three points a drive is insane because there's games where you have like three, four drives you don't score, obviously.
Speaker 1 So making up for those, it doesn't happen. Detroit Lions seemingly all the way back to who we thought they were offensively.
Speaker 1 Ty, you're going to be scared to death of this Detroit Lions team because if MCDC can just take over either coordinator position, it doesn't matter if they sub out.
Speaker 1 It doesn't matter if Kelvin Shepard ends up being the head coach at LSU if he wants that or any NFL job that potentially opens up because of what he's been able to do with this defense so quickly.
Speaker 1
Because MCDC will have offensive side here, bang, defensive side here if he has to. That's what he's willing to do.
That's got to be scary in the NFC North.
Speaker 4 I wouldn't say I'm scared to death because the Packers have one in the hand already on the Lions. But again, that was Johnny Mo calling the plays, not MCDC.
Speaker 4 But I think yesterday just reaffirmed, like, there's been a lot of talk about the Bears because they've won several in a row.
Speaker 4 You know, know the vikings had i mean discount yesterday with the vikings with jj and you know ba said hey we might get four teams from the nsc north end the packers are you know what they are but it's very evident that like when the lions play their a to like b plus game they are the best team in that division they're still the team that you need to slay so it'll be very interesting but i just look at i mean you look at the like bears are great right now obviously Lions hung 50 on them and beat the shit out of them.
Speaker 4
The Packers game, it is what it is week one. The Lions are a much different team when they meet again on Thanksgiving, and then the Vikings are whatever.
But if the Lions can play like this,
Speaker 4 you'd be hard-pressed to find a team that's better than them in the NFL.
Speaker 1 Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic and Knight,
Speaker 1 they got Sonic and Knuckles everywhere.
Speaker 1
Wide receiver, we got Sonic and Knuckles. Tight end, we got Sonic and Knuckles.
Running back, we got Sonic and Knuckles. And offensive play callers, we got Sonic and Knuckles.
True. Yeah.
Speaker 1 We kind of got literally.
Speaker 1 And now, some Lions fans are saying, well, there are some games you got
Speaker 1 and Cheeks all over the place, but sonic and knuckles seemingly everywhere around the line and then there's even a toughness to the team that brings out other people to just punch them in the face exactly did you guys see this i don't know if everybody saw this he has suspended for a game for this just out of nowhere no look kind of a a little bit of a sneaker
Speaker 1
boom a little sneaky sneaky sneaker boom right to the button now he has a helmet on Okay, so obviously you're going to be protected. That's literally what the helmet's on for that.
But Amon Ross St.
Speaker 1
Brown's hands are down and he's walking a different direction. I'm not sure he knew a looping right was coming at his helmet.
Had to say so. But I'll tell you what.
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 1 The NFL did not like it.
Speaker 1 The NFL did not like it immediately.
Speaker 1
Yep. They suspended.
Can't have that, especially when we got a lot of eyes on this because the president's going to be speaking in the third quarter. They're actually going to have him call play.
Speaker 5 Oh, that's probably why he's like, shit, I probably didn't like to dance.
Speaker 1 Maybe.
Speaker 5 I just thought about it.
Speaker 1
Chris Sims had no idea. Somebody needs to tell him maybe what was going on.
Hey, at the beginning of that highlight, they were trying to lead you to something there. Maybe it was.
Speaker 1 Okay, wait a second, Nick.
Speaker 1 Yaba!
Speaker 1
Technics record. Great dance, by the way.
I remember that talk of the town.
Speaker 2 I thought it was the opposite of that. I thought
Speaker 2
Darren Payne was more so saying, like, I ain't going to just sit here and get blown out in front of President Trump. I'm going to punch someone in the face.
I'll love that.
Speaker 1
And then I don't have to play the rest of the game. So he knows you're saying.
Yeah.
Speaker 1
I'll tell you what, a lot of people said a lot of mean things to me because I broke some news out of the White House. I thought it was journalism.
What are we talking about? Journalism
Speaker 3 for breaking news?
Speaker 1
Yeah, a lot of people are saying I was doing a lot of stuff. I was doing a lot of stuff.
I mean, they're going to be crazy. I can't wait to see how they react tomorrow.
Speaker 1 I can't wait to see how they react. Tomorrow's a big one.
Speaker 1 It's not for the first 15 because tomorrow is full 24 hours of honor and thanking. But I'll tell you, tomorrow is going to be
Speaker 1 tomorrow's going to be big.
Speaker 1 Historic.
Speaker 1 Happy birthday, Marines.
Speaker 2 Happy birthday.
Speaker 1 It wasn't just the Detroit Lions that made the four o'clock slate and completely fornicated. Oh, no, no, there was two other options.
Speaker 1
And the NFC West said, we'll go ahead and take care of those for you. Los Angeles Rams, dominant.
Now it did become a little bit of a game. This one was a one-score game for a little bit.
Speaker 1
And then Matthew Stafford does ahead and hits the gas pedal at the end of this thing to put it away. This Los Angeles Rams team is special.
Offensively, they're special.
Speaker 1 Obviously, Puka Nakua is Puka Nakua. He might be the best wide receiver in football on any given day whenever he's playing football.
Speaker 1
Insanely tough, very quick, vibes immaculate, and always wants to show up for his team. We love Ooz.
They add Devontae Adams, so now coverages have to do what they have to do.
Speaker 1 Down in the red zone, they're damn near unstoppable because you can't double Devontae because you got Puka on the other side. So Devontae's one-on-one either with your second or third corner.
Speaker 1
And on the goal line, that's unstoppable. I mean, it's absolutely.
And Matthew Stafford does just that every time. This is their goal line play.
It's every single week.
Speaker 1
Hey, Devontae, whatever the hell you want to do to the guy. You want to go inside, you do it.
You want to go outside? You do it. I'm going to hit you with the ball.
Speaker 1
They do it anytime they're inside the three. It's their tush push.
They got the Hall of Fame right arm of Matthew Stafford and the Hall of Fame release of Devontae Adams.
Speaker 1 They put that together and it's a touchdown creating machine.
Speaker 1 It's outrageous what they've been able to build, especially because whenever they started building this team, they went all in and lost all their picks. They lost all their picks.
Speaker 1
They weren't looking for the future at all is how everybody was judging them. And now here we are in that particular future.
They're young on defense, very good. Offense, they have weapons.
Speaker 1 And Matthew Stafford looks like he's 14, 15, 16 years old again, spinning it all over the yard. Was it because of that Koopi won into in training camp? This guy is outrageous.
Speaker 1 He's better than he's ever been.
Speaker 5 Yeah, we're worried about him. Anytime you got an old player or quarterback coming into the season with a back injury, you're very, very worried.
Speaker 5 But he's playing probably the best football of his career.
Speaker 5 This is now three straight games where he's thrown four passing TDs and zero interceptions, which is is insane in the National Football League. You talked about the players on the field.
Speaker 5
Obviously, everyone has the talent. We talked about it, but then the coaching.
Coaching matters. And these are two coaches that are very familiar with each other.
Speaker 5
But Sean McVay has these boys rolling. Tom Brady, I think this was a great call, the freaking no-look.
I mean, he's the OG of that. He's been doing that for a long, long time.
Speaker 5 He makes it look so easy.
Speaker 5
I mean, go out and try this in your backyard with throwing the seven and eight-year-olds. This is tough to do, let it alone on the NFL field.
But yeah, Sean McVay has done a tremendous job.
Speaker 5 Tom Brady made a great point about something they're doing with their offense.
Speaker 5 They're using a lot of 13 personnels and then getting matchups with these wide receivers against linebackers and safeties because they're facing base coverages as opposed to like nickel coverages.
Speaker 3 So since week four, you talked about the four-plus passing touches, no interceptions. Since week four, he has 20 passing touchdowns to zero interceptions.
Speaker 5 Jesus.
Speaker 1 He's hilarious. Hey, that's the same.
Speaker 1
He got drafted our class. Look what we're doing.
Yep. Look what we're doing.
We've been doing it for a while. How long have we been doing this? We got drafted.
Speaker 1
I got drafted 221 picks apart from from Matthew Stafford. We got 40 picks after him.
Damn. Damn.
What the hell? Okay.
Speaker 3 Hey, dude.
Speaker 1 That's a good signing bonus.
Speaker 1 In that
Speaker 1 economy? Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 We had four.
Speaker 5 Your teammate, Donald Brown, went first round. I think he was a 27th pick, maybe.
Speaker 5 And then we had Will Beattie go to the Giants in the second round, and Cody Brown go to the Cardinals in the second round.
Speaker 1
Donald Brown was a beast. I love that man.
I hope he's good. We would all like to say what's up to him.
Speaker 1
But yeah, Matthew Stafford's only getting better somehow. It makes no sense.
And his no-look passes are getting more, more very like regular now. Like it's just average stuff.
Speaker 1 I think a lot more people are doing it, but he has, to everybody's point, been doing this for his entire career, which is why BA, who's called the quarterback whisperer, said that Matthew Stafford was the only quarterback he'd go out and watch warm up because of the shit he can do with it.
Speaker 1
Well, he's got weapons. He's got McVay calling the plays.
He can still do it. He's special right now.
MVP at this age would be wild for Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 2
Yeah, definitely deserves it. And I believe Brady said on the broadcast that he's never been an all-pro quarterback, so it can lock that in for first team.
But Brady also talked about how,
Speaker 2 you know, the no-looks started with Calvin Johnson because everyone knew, okay, it's Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson on the Lions. That's where the ball's going.
Speaker 2 So he just naturally started working on the no-look passes. But aside from that, Debuff brought up the 13 personnel.
Speaker 2 Like now that they can just roll out three tight ends, Higby, Ferguson, who was their second-round second-round pick from Oregon, and Parkinson, who scored that touchdown there.
Speaker 2 Like, they can legitimately beat you on offense, and I don't know how you can game plan for it.
Speaker 1
Hey, let's talk about another team in the NFC West that can win it all. The Seattle Seahawks team is hilarious.
Yeah, real deal. They are so good.
Double ball team.
Speaker 1
And we thought the Cardinals were good. We liked the Cardinals.
The Cardinals might still be good. They had a couple touchdowns they put up there.
This was a boat race early.
Speaker 1
This was a lot of points to no points in Seattle. And Jackson Smith and Jigma gets on the board early.
I think he went down for a little bit. Something happened to him.
Speaker 1
Yeah, I don't remember. It was late in the thing.
I think I saw a photo. Maybe not.
Let's just act. If nobody else heard it or saw it, let's not even talk about it.
Speaker 1
We have a man on the phone here in about a minute and a half who'll be able to give us some updates of it all. But the Seattle Seahawks, outrageous, how good they are.
Sam Darnold, so good.
Speaker 1
On the ground, so good. Through the sky, so good.
Defensively, tough. Hard-nosed, signed, gap control.
It's like everything about him. Smells a
Speaker 1 thing to win a championship. That's good.
Speaker 5 Another legit contender right here. We always start with the quarterback, Sam Darno, who's been playing at a very, very high level, but this game got out of reach early because of the defense.
Speaker 5 Two fumble returns. I don't think this has happened in, I don't know how long, but DeMarcus Lawrence had two fumblers, the same two players on the strip sack and the fumble return, which is crazy.
Speaker 5 Jacoby Brissette kind of never had a chance.
Speaker 1 He was under the rest all afternoon long.
Speaker 1 He'll stay in there.
Speaker 5
Whenever you get possession like that, give the Seahawks extra possession. You got no chance.
It's a tough, tough ball club from the top to the bottom.
Speaker 1 Jacoby was staying in there, and he certainly had.
Speaker 1 I think there was like seven sacks in the first half. There was
Speaker 1
sexy. Forget about him.
Him being back is crazy just because Jackson Smith and Jigbas having the season that he's having.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah, Triple Crown, actually, quadruple crown winner just from five, six years ago, also on the team and hopefully healthy for the entirety of the year. Congrats to the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 The NFC's favorites, though, have kind of separated themselves, and tonight it's Eagles and Packers.
Speaker 1 So, you know, we're going to learn a lot here, I think, over the next few weeks, but it feels like we're starting to know who's who in both the conferences.
Speaker 1 The NFC favorites dominated that four o'clock time slot. And we all started doing stuff other than watch the games.
Speaker 1
That was crazy. Big time was tough.
That's a weird thing. Three games, all of them bad, not good.
That's why March Madness has like 15 games on at the same time. Exactly.
Speaker 1
Hey, a couple of these are going to be asked. We got to find a good one.
We need that yesterday. Let's go to the number three headline.
The Sportsbooks and Steelers fans knew.
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 1 Sportsbooks had the Baltimore Ravens at like two and four, two and five as the favorites to win the AFC North when the Pittsburgh Pittsburgh Steelers were four and one or whatever the hell it was, four and two, five and two, whatever the hell they were.
Speaker 1
They were way down early. Steelers spent all the money on the roster and were winning.
And the sports books did not budge. They're like, Baltimore Ravens are going to win the AFC North.
Speaker 1 This is how this is going to go for weeks and weeks. And I actually just thought it was so preposterous that I'm like, well, this sounds like it has to be right.
Speaker 1 So I've literally only picked the Ravens just because it's like the time travelers who do the sports books things are saying this is going to happen. And lo and behold, it seems like it is happening.
Speaker 1
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens getting very, very good. Okay, very, very good.
A couple turnovers from J.J. McCarthy.
Speaker 1 Obviously, the defense is only going to get better from where they started this entire thing.
Speaker 1 And Lamar Jackson, after he goes ahead and takes the ping pong tables and the cornhole board and everything out of the locker room, comes back from his hamstring injury, completely locked in.
Speaker 1 Connor is giving a great face right now because obviously Drake May, JJ McCarthy conversations are going to happen. JJ jj will miss okay he will miss by a lot
Speaker 1 he will miss by a lot he's got to get better with his accuracy which i think is possible if you go back to like josh allen there's a chance he's able to do that has competitive spirit all that he misses a lot of throws by a lot but he also makes throws out of nowhere that shouldn't be made on that note baltimore ravens
Speaker 1 first off that's not jj either that's nine
Speaker 1 okay okay okay
Speaker 1 you're right it's his it's his
Speaker 1 on field maybe we need to see jj maybe jj is the NFL version.
Speaker 1
Yeah, nine. Yeah, maybe nine isn't in the NFL.
Maybe nine retired with a national championship. A lot of Will 11.
At Michigan.
Speaker 1
But in a leadership sense, he has a lot of Tom Brady on there. That's right, right.
Okay, so there's a lot of things you can look at that. I'll look on the other side.
Baltimore Ravens are real.
Speaker 1
And the Baltimore Ravens, the sports books knew they were going to be good. Lamar Jackson feels good.
A lot of losses early. They're going to be chasing all season.
Speaker 1 That's good motivation for that team. And then the Pittsburgh Steelers get a huge win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Speaker 1
Makes me as a Colts fan. Don't worry, you'll see number one of the headlines here.
You'll see exactly where I'm at. Makes me as a Colts fan question some things, but we had six turnovers.
Speaker 1
Like, that's not going to be a normal day. But the Pittsburgh Steelers forced those things.
You know, the Pittsburgh Steelers made great plays.
Speaker 1
It's like maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers are a team that we need to think about going forward. That's how I felt after the Colts game.
Last night, halftime, I said, fuck this. I'm going to bed.
Speaker 1 You are still.
Speaker 1
I'm going to bed. I'm not staying up for this shit.
I mean, it was not good last night, but we think the Chargers are a good football team as well.
Speaker 1 But it feels like Steelers fans have been waiting for this particular game, especially on primetime tonight.
Speaker 3
Yeah, there was about a week ago when I looked at the schedule to see what time this game was. Oh, shit, it's a primetime game.
This is not going to go well.
Speaker 3 I don't know why things don't go well in primetime for the Steelers as of late, but they don't. Specifically, on the offensive side of the ball, anything that could go wrong did go wrong last night.
Speaker 3
It was Aaron Rodgers' worst game of the season by far. It wasn't even close.
It was overthrow and DK. Was underthrow in guys.
That was not even, that was an overthrow for an interception.
Speaker 3 Boz missed a field goal.
Speaker 1 Inside 50.
Speaker 3
45. Yeah.
As soon as Boz missed a field goal, I knew the night was over. The defense played well.
Speaker 1 I mean, they held the Chargers to, what, 12 points in the fourth quarter?
Speaker 1 Good route.
Speaker 3 But yeah,
Speaker 3
after Boz missed in halftime, I said, I know what this team's going to do in the second half, and it's not going to be good. So I turned it off.
This team is not going to ruin my night and tomorrow.
Speaker 1
Okay, so I like that you said that. I like that you said that.
But on that note, that's what Steelers fans have been saying about the Steelers team, even whenever they've had the winning record debt.
Speaker 5 Yeah, Steelers fans, I give them this: they know ball, even when they were 11 and all those years ago, like, oh, no, this ain't a real, this ain't a Super Bowl-winning team.
Speaker 1 Steelers fans are very, very truthful.
Speaker 5 They're knowledgeable, they know their team, they know how they're gonna show up on prime time. But I was surprised with this outcome because of because the Steel Curtain showed up now.
Speaker 5 It is true, it was only because the 05 team was there. Because this
Speaker 5 Jack Carr here, Oh, no.
Speaker 2 He better be.
Speaker 1 Zito's on the road.
Speaker 1 Thank you, Zito.
Speaker 2 The thing didn't close either.
Speaker 1 The fire trap door?
Speaker 1 Well, that is actually, I think, that is sports media telling us through we have breaking news.
Speaker 1 Brian Dayball has been fired. Why?
Speaker 1 As the New York Giants head coach.
Speaker 1 In the middle of the first 15 here, our alarms were sirening off because,
Speaker 1
hey, there's breaking news. Stop talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers losing to the Chargers.
You lost enough of your life watching that game last night. Pivot to some breaking news.
Speaker 1
The New York Football Giants are moving on from their head coach. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, a senior NFL insider for ESPN, Michigan man, Adam Schefter.
Shefty.
Speaker 1 Shefty, I know you were kind of waiting for us to finish while you were breaking that news. Did you expect that was coming this morning or has this kind of come out of nowhere for you, Shefty?
Speaker 8
No, I think that we kind of had a sense that this was possible. We knew this was coming.
And, Pat, our timing has been impeccable over the last week.
Speaker 8 We're basically, you're getting me on, as we got Sauce Gardner being traded, Rashid Shaheed being traded, Quinnen Williams was coming down last week.
Speaker 1 Let me remind you of all the things I've done here.
Speaker 8 It is just Braun Davell who's been dismissed
Speaker 8 as the only one.
Speaker 1 And
Speaker 1 you're in the midst of a season here.
Speaker 8 This is pretty amazing when you look at it.
Speaker 8 The Giants' interim head coach, whoever that will be,
Speaker 8 will be their sixth head coach since 2016.
Speaker 1
Jeez. Okay, so that's nine years ago, sixth head coach.
Obviously, a lot of turnover.
Speaker 1 We saw the hard knocks behind the scenes in the offseason whenever, you know, Mara comes in and Shane talks about moving on from Saquon to go in with Danny Dimes.
Speaker 1 We've seen Dayball run the meetings basically for all of their picks that they've done at the Combine in the draft process. Dayball knew this was a make-or-break season.
Speaker 1 Is that why he potentially wanted Aaron Rodgers, maybe his quarterback, Russell Wilson as a quarterback, Jameis Winson as a quarterback, like a veteran quarterback to be able to go on a run?
Speaker 1 And what does this mean for Jackson Dart in a development of the future here, Shefty, in your eyes?
Speaker 8 Well, I think here's the deal: Jackson Dart
Speaker 8 has been evaluated for four concussions this year, four.
Speaker 8 And so the biggest thing this team can do is make sure it's protecting its quarterback. We've got a quarterback that has been evaluated for four concussions.
Speaker 8 We've got a team that has blown double-digit leads in four different road games. They are the inverse of the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 8 They've been in a position to win all these games and haven't gotten it done. And I think that at some point in time, you make the decision that we're not going to move forward with this guy.
Speaker 8 I think this is a team also that puts so much money and time and investments and picks into its defense.
Speaker 8 And the defense is one of the worst in the league right now. And so I think that they feel like they need a reboot here.
Speaker 8 And they made the decision to move on from Brian Dayball. We'll see who the interim head coach is.
Speaker 8 I'm trying to think of the candidates on staff. Mike Kafka is the offensive coordinator.
Speaker 8 He might be a candidate here to take over as the head coach, though they may want him to concentrate on the offense, in which case it would be the special teams coach.
Speaker 8 So, yeah, but Brian Dable becomes the second head coach let go this year following Brian Callahan in Tennessee.
Speaker 1 You talk about the defense and having all these players supposed to be good and being dreadful, then it makes you automatically go to Shane. So, Shane, they're not moving on from Shane right now.
Speaker 1 You say the general manager.
Speaker 8 Do we think he's... Not right now.
Speaker 8
I'm told that Brian Dable is the only one. Look, I think it's fair to assume that when you're firing the head coach, everybody is going to come under review.
Everybody.
Speaker 8
What they do with that, we'll see. That'll be up to John Mara, Steve Tisch, and others.
But obviously, they felt like this was a move that they had to make today.
Speaker 1 Okay, we appreciate the insight, and thank you for joining us here immediately. We've talked about a few things in this top five headlines.
Speaker 1 Do you mind if we go to number two right now while you're on here?
Speaker 11 What is number two?
Speaker 1
More visible picture at the MVP picture. It feels like there is now a three-horse race for the MVP in Drake May, Matthew Stafford, and Jonathan Taylor.
First, we'll go with Drake May.
Speaker 1
Unbelievable for his second year, second head coach, second offensive coordinator, three if you go back three years for him back to college. He is leading this Patriots.
I mean, it is fun to watch.
Speaker 1
Had him early. You know, it feels like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Todd Bowles defense, had him early because I was reading Connor's tweets about it.
It's like, oh, tough day with Todd Bowles right now.
Speaker 1 Tough day.
Speaker 1 Then he makes this throw with a guy guy about to hit him has to be a touch pass with like a quarter throw and it's like this dude is special special and it's not just us saying that shifter sports books have him as the odds on favorite to win the mvp that is insane to think about at this stage matthew stafford we just talked about being immaculate and then jonathan taylor this dude's special 250 yards or whatever it was in germany yesterday he's been doing it all season.
Speaker 1 There's a lot of stats and factoids about what he's been doing versus Adrian Peterson in Adrian Peterson's MVP season. Up to this point, obviously what the teams were, 8-2, 6-4, he has 17 touchdowns.
Speaker 1 I thought we had seven touchdowns, 1,399 yards from scrimmage, 1,283 yards from scrimmage.
Speaker 1 So what Jonathan Taylor is doing is obviously historic and obviously better than an MVP season was for a running back in the past.
Speaker 1
Adrian Peterson, we all have massive respect for as a football player. He was untackable.
And Jonathan Taylor is the same damn thing. And when Jonathan Taylor gets any space, he's gone.
Speaker 1
He is winning games for the Indianapolis Colts. And you got everybody on that team.
You know, you had Zaire at the end of that 44 was saying, you're the best player in the world, literally on camera.
Speaker 1
I got a text from Daniel Jones who said, we got the best player on earth in Jonathan Taylor. He said, life is good with him.
Nobody expected this from the Colts, Adam Schefter.
Speaker 1 And I don't know if anybody expected this from Jonathan Taylor either.
Speaker 1 If you're a voter, which I don't know if you are or not, are you going to give it to a running back, Shefty, or is is this just a quarterback award, do you think, through and through?
Speaker 8 Well, here's what I'm going to say to you, Pat. If we go back the last 12 years, 12, okay, the
Speaker 8 quarterback has won the most valuable player. By the way, Mike Kafka, officially the interim head coach for the New York Giants.
Speaker 8 Mike Kafka
Speaker 8
the interim head coach for the New York Giants. He takes over for Brian Dayball, who was let go here this afternoon.
I want to give you something here that's interesting.
Speaker 8 The quarterback position, a quarterback, has won the NFL MVP each of the last 12 years.
Speaker 8
If we go back over the last seven, there are 50 voters for the MVP award. My friend Peter King pointed this out to me this morning.
There are 50 voters for the MVP award. In the last seven years,
Speaker 8 there have been 350 first-place votes for the MVP.
Speaker 8 Of those 350 votes, 349
Speaker 8 over over seven years have been for quarterbacks. The only single vote, single vote in the last seven years, not for a quarterback, was for Cooper Cup in 2021.
Speaker 8 Other than that, a quarterback has gotten every first place vote for the MVP award. So
Speaker 8 that tells you that Drake May, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, they're in the lead. However,
Speaker 8 saying that, I am not a voter.
Speaker 9 I'm glad I'm not a voter, but
Speaker 8
I guess I'm not, you know, I've never been asked to be a voter. I have not been a voter since I was younger.
Those privileges were revoked.
Speaker 9 My Hall of Fame privileges were revoked when I was an NFL networking.
Speaker 8
They never gave them back to me. I guess I can make fun of it now.
Nobody ever gave me back.
Speaker 10 And
Speaker 8 there are a lot of people out there, in fact, that know the game way better than me. So they don't need my vote.
Speaker 8 And they don't need me to vote on the Hall of Fame either. There's a lot of people
Speaker 1
more than me. Oh, Jesus, the fireworks outside.
Jesus. Hey, everything's
Speaker 1
your battle, boys. Mint, let them know.
Dayball was just getting fired, dude. So the fire alarms went off here in Indianapolis.
But I did not know you got your voting privileges revoked.
Speaker 1 I'm happy you keep that chip on your shoulder every single day when you wake up and try to change the course of the NFL with your breaking news.
Speaker 1 349 of the 350 votes over the last seven years have gone to a quarterback. Cooper Cup, obviously, everybody says he won the triple crown that year.
Speaker 1
It was actually the quad because he got there yards after catch, too. Oh, yeah.
So it was like catches, touchdowns,
Speaker 1
yards, and then also yards after catch he had. So it was like all four he was across the board.
He got one MVP vote. Okay, he got one.
Jonathan Taylor's doing special things.
Speaker 1 Let's go to somebody who actually has an MVP vote, AP tone, running back potentially in the running, especially with how good this Colts team is.
Speaker 1 The position we're in, best team in the AFC, and he is clearly the best player on the team. Everybody on the team agrees that.
Speaker 3
Yeah, good news. Just got the email this week.
I am back this year.
Speaker 1 I was.
Speaker 1 He gets to keep
Speaker 1 a bum.
Speaker 3 Chef, you could send me your list. Maybe I'll take it into consideration or not.
Speaker 3 But yes, yes, Jonathan Taylor and a running back should always be considered when you're having a historic season like this. It doesn't have to be just a quarterback award.
Speaker 3 It's not named a quarterback award. So yes, if Jonathan Taylor is the most valuable player, he should win the MVP award.
Speaker 1
Drake May, odds on favor to win the MVP. No Patriots fan.
Go ahead. I'm sorry.
Speaker 8 Well, that's what I was saying before I got in a little bit of a riff. I don't know how you don't give the award today, today, November 10th, to Jonathan Taylor.
Speaker 8 The guy's had four hat-trick games, four games where he scored three touchdowns each. He right now is on pace to do things that very few running backs in the history of football ever have done.
Speaker 8 We're talking about a historic season. Now, again,
Speaker 8 there are a lot of games left, but look at the production. Look how it compares to when Adrian Peterson won MVP.
Speaker 8 John
Speaker 8 only scored, he's only scored 10 more touchdowns than him at this point, right?
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah. 10 more.
Speaker 1
Right? Yeah. So, that's what it's like.
Again,
Speaker 8 Pat, if I did have a vote right now, I would vote for John, but I don't have a vote, so I can't.
Speaker 1
Okay, yeah, we understand. You got to revoked.
Once again,
Speaker 1 Tone said he will listen to any ideas, but obviously he has more sway than you. He still has a vote for good reason.
Speaker 1 But let's go to the odds on favor right now because of everything you just chatted about.
Speaker 1 I think everybody just assumes, including sports books inevitably at the end of the day push comes to shove whenever it's time to vote they'll say the person that's touching the ball every single play is the most valuable position that is normally the argument it's not the most best player it's the most valuable player quarterback's always going to be the most valuable that's why they're getting paid 60 million dollars a year because they touch the ball every single play jonathan taylor i i think danny dimes would be okay with him touching the ball every single play and i think our offense would but we got weapons everywhere else as well which is why the culture is so good let's talk about drake may though odds on favor con con man.
Speaker 1 Nobody expected that as a Patriots fan coming in the season, right? How could you expect the Patriots' second-year quarterback who wasn't the first quarterback drafted?
Speaker 1 He's on a brand new head coach to be the MVP odds-on favorite through 10 weeks. Congrats to you guys, and congrats to Drake May, who seemingly has it all.
Speaker 2 Yeah, incredible. First 10 games, just to kind of piggyback off that Jonathan Taylor thing for Drake May, he's the first quarterback in the history of the NFL.
Speaker 2 to have 2,500 pass yards, 70-plus completion percentage, 250 rushing yards, and five or fewer interceptions. Shout out, Greg Harvey.
Speaker 2 When we're talking about value and just, you know, valuable as being the word here, you can go to all those other players and then look at the cap space spent across the other offenses.
Speaker 2
I mean, it's not even close. Drake May would be most valuable.
I think Matt Stafford's most deserving though.
Speaker 1
Okay, and the number one story of the weekend is the Colts are going to win the Super Bowl. Hell yeah.
Colts go in the Super Bowl. Congrats to us.
A huge win.
Speaker 1
We got about a heart out here in one minute. This came quickly.
42-minute first 15 here. Shefty, Eagles-Packers tonight.
Literally one minute we have. What should we be thinking about?
Speaker 8
I got you. Step out of the way, Pat.
I got you. I think we're going to get Nolan Smith back tonight for the Philadelphia Eagles.
I think he'll be activated by 4 o'clock.
Speaker 8
Jair Alexander did not make the trip for the Philadelphia Eagles. Not going to play against his former team.
And this is all about the tush push tonight.
Speaker 8 The Packers were the team that proposed banning it. We heard Micah Parsons last year with the Cowboys talk about the fact that it was a terrible play.
Speaker 8 Now the Eagles are going to get a chance to take their tush push and shove it up the Packers tush push tonight in Green Bay on the football.
Speaker 1
You're the man. Way to tush push your way right through that.
You're the best, Adam Scheff.
Speaker 1
You look good. Breaking news on the show.
We appreciate the hell out of them. And that's first 15, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 1 Football! Happy birthday to the Marine Corps and breaking news from the first hour.
Speaker 1 We'll be live from Paris Island tomorrow as we honor and thank the veterans of this United States of America as the only show that'll be live from a base tomorrow, I do believe.
Speaker 1
And also the only show that's ever really been live from Paris Island. Paris Island is the eastern half of the United States of America Marines boot camp.
Eastern Mississippi, you go to Paris Island.
Speaker 1 Western Mississippi, you go to San Diego. Okay, this is where Marines are made.
Speaker 1 We actually, they actually have a sign that says we make Marines that all the recruits during their final, on their way to the Eagle Globe and Anchor Ceremony, walk under and hike through.
Speaker 1 And then they get to the parade deck and then they're, you know, officially
Speaker 1 made into Marines after a grueling 13-week boot camp on there, where it is.
Speaker 1 Everything you could imagine and then some with drill instructors who are the baddest humans on earth, expecting perfection from 0,400 all the way to 200 I believe ours in every moment in between is perfection we need it and also we need you to not be asking any questions and just go do the damn thing first the fight are the Marines kind of mantra and tomorrow we'll be very lucky to be able to broadcast live from their home and
Speaker 1 yeah it's gonna be a special day tomorrow as we say thanks to the vets around the United States of America and we're incredibly lucky and thankful that we're gonna be able to do it the toxic tables here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt big one tonight Ty Big one tonight.
Speaker 4 Yeah, kind of a must-need. Almost a have to win this one tonight.
Speaker 1 I like that you won with the NFL Premium Plus Pro
Speaker 1 kind of
Speaker 1 tosle cap, if you will.
Speaker 2 Yeah.
Speaker 1 It doesn't have the toss cap.
Speaker 1 Beanie. Beanie.
Speaker 1 But it's a fold-up, though.
Speaker 1 Beanie, I don't know if Beanie has the fold-up, right? That's kind of the Beanie has the
Speaker 1 CHS.
Speaker 2 And does Beanie have the thing? The top little...
Speaker 1
No, that's a tossle. I think that's a tossle.
Oh, it is, yeah. Beanie, for me, doesn't have the fold-up.
It's just the
Speaker 1 hat on it. Just that down.
Speaker 1
Yeah, that one, I don't think. So maybe a toque.
It's a toque.
Speaker 1 You call it a Scully? Scally? See, I think you would call Scully the one that doesn't have the
Speaker 1 fold-up? Yeah.
Speaker 2 Doesn't go over your ears? Yeah.
Speaker 1 That's called it a winter hat growing up.
Speaker 2 Let me just grab one of my winter hats here.
Speaker 1
That's what you would have said. I think Canadians call it a toque.
Is that what the title is, Gumpy?
Speaker 6 Yeah, it's a toque. That's what it's called, dude.
Speaker 1 Okay, so it's
Speaker 1 a 2K.
Speaker 2 It's scoring on you to say that with that hat on.
Speaker 1 We might call it a Duke.
Speaker 5 Pinnacle Brother.
Speaker 1
Okay, that is nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler.
Grew up in South Florida, you know, so all this talk about beanies and scullies and tossle caps are certainly right on brand for everything going on.
Speaker 1
That particular hat was alarming today. Did not expect to see that.
Thought we were out of the woods. No kidding.
But like for a long time.
Speaker 5
We got a couple more weeks. Championship.
It's championship season there.
Speaker 1 Joining us now live from an attic in Ohio is a college football national champion, Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup winner, hater of G1. Ladies and gentlemen, AJ Hawker.
Speaker 1 Hawker, what do you call it?
Speaker 11
Snow hat. I've always called that.
All versions, whether it folds or not, we just say snow hat.
Speaker 1 Really? Snow hat?
Speaker 11 Yeah, I don't know where I got it from, but yeah, someone obviously passed it down to me here in Ohio.
Speaker 1 All the different forms, you call them all the same. What about the one with the
Speaker 1 way? Yeah, like the Russian, the
Speaker 11 old, what's the movie, Grumpy Old Men, like those dudes that wrap around your ears and you tie it underneath.
Speaker 11 I don't know, the old man snow hat.
Speaker 1
Okay, maybe that's a bright play because they have that fold up in the front. Yeah.
I had a run with that one where I thought by far coolest snow hat, I guess, is what we're calling all these things.
Speaker 1 That one was the best. Have you seen that one?
Speaker 5
I have not. I don't think so.
I just remember that, though, from when Pete Thamel was about to beat the shit out of Bruce.
Speaker 1
He was trying to be low points. Yeah, he had Beanie on.
Yeah, he had Scarley on Beanie on. There was no fold up there.
The one that goes over the ears,
Speaker 1 I think we should all think about if we get into another situation where we're calling a game from the sideline. I think we should all have matching ones of those.
Speaker 2 It's a good idea. Those are like Eskimo hats almost.
Speaker 1 Inuit, yeah, for sure. I think that is what you would certainly get.
Speaker 1 Sounds much worse, actually.
Speaker 1 The proper name sounds much worse.
Speaker 7 That's what we called them, Conman, growing up for what it's worth.
Speaker 1 Inuits?
Speaker 2 I bet you'd use it. No, we used the other word and used that hat, but that is what we called them growing up.
Speaker 1
Oh, like, you're talking about like Inuit brothers. Yes, yeah, big dog.
Never heard that.
Speaker 1
What you talking about? I never heard that term. What? I've heard other terms.
What, really? I'm not going to say it. No, I think, what are you talking about, though?
Speaker 5 All right. I just never heard Inuit Brothers.
Speaker 1 Commander Brothers?
Speaker 1 Maybe I don't know. I think you can kind of tie ipso facto.
Speaker 1 Joining us now, AJ, let's talk about some of the games yesterday. Now, Inuit's a great name, by the way.
Speaker 1
I pitched for a hockey hockey team named D. Inuits.
And I don't know if it's really a brand name, you know, but we can make it that. Could be.
Certainly be making the world a lot better, too.
Speaker 1
Eskimos, I believe, proper term is Inuit, if you were to Google it. Sure.
I believe that would say that. Nonetheless, legends, both of them.
And their hats,
Speaker 1
the best. Oh, yeah.
For good reason, because they got a. It's cold up there.
Speaker 5 I have Sirats. You've seen those, right? Tuskegee Airbus.
Speaker 1
Oh. Yes.
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah. That it is.
That is what it is. Yep.
I have seen them. So you should wear those, maybe.
Speaker 5 Yeah, if we got another Ohio State game situation, absolutely.
Speaker 1 How about the Tennessee team when they came out shirtless? All of us from the north were just like, this is not the one to do that, bro. No.
Speaker 1
If it's like 40, 30, maybe that we're negative right now. Yeah, your body's taking an actual damage right now.
It is, you are, what we say in a bad position.
Speaker 3 I looked it up because I was just always a tossle guy. Apparently, that's a Jenser term.
Speaker 1 Tossil cap?
Speaker 1 See, that's what happens. Game days going to Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Speaker 1 Obviously, Pittsburgh Steelers last night in primetime against the Chargers put the world to bed at halftime, probably, with the way that whole thing went.
Speaker 1 What are your thoughts on this Pittsburgh Steelers team? We had a, I think our number three headline or something was: Sportsbooks and Steelers fans knew.
Speaker 1 Sportsbooks had the Baltimore Ravens as the winners of the AFC North weeks ago, whenever they were way out of contention in a lot of people's eyes, especially if you looked at the record and Lamar Jackson was hurt.
Speaker 1
Steelers were a rotting high. I mean, Steelers even get a win over Indianapolis Colts last week.
I think the Colts best team in football in all three phases. So maybe Steelers are able to go.
Speaker 1
Steelers fans never really believed that they could do anything special. They felt like it was another year.
Ho, hum, how are you going to do?
Speaker 1 The Steel Curtain being all the way back last week, putting up a good performance against Herbert, maybe indicates that they're going to be good down the road.
Speaker 1 Like, what do you think about this Pittsburgh Steelers team? Are they for real or are the Steelers fans in sports books right, you think, AJ?
Speaker 11 Yeah, I don't know. Like, I think, I don't know how Steelers fans, I don't, I mean, I know Tone sometimes will lean negative when he thinks of of the Steelers and what they're going to do.
Speaker 11
And he thinks, like, all doom and gloom. Like, here we go.
He's going to write them off for the end of the year. I would never write him off.
Speaker 11 I still think they can put it together, but I don't, from the start of this game, even though they were in it for a long time, no matter how poorly they were playing, something was just off.
Speaker 11
It's one of those games, I don't know, you've got to give the Chargers credit, obviously, their defense, especially Lam McConkey. This guy's awesome.
But
Speaker 1 I don't know, you know.
Speaker 11
Chargers, I'm sorry about that. But Aaron, you know, a couple balls are high.
A ball, you know, ricochets off old buddy and gets picked. Things like that happen.
Speaker 5 And they never really, a lot of times you can settle in and you'll get a rhythm and they just never found that rhythm offensively chargers a good football team too that is getting lost in the sauce that's why it was a sunday night football matchup but after especially after what the still curtain did to us for the because joe alt see he's out he's hurt and he's out for the season it looks like um i think i believe and they're a completely different team when joe alt isn't in that lineup and
Speaker 5 I know we give a bunch of shit to the PFF
Speaker 5 ratings pre-game, but I think we have four offensive linemen from the Chargers that were like 34, 35 of 36 in that starting lineup. So I expect, especially
Speaker 1 offensive,
Speaker 1 it was upsetting.
Speaker 1 That's on TV of all time. Why did they want to put that on TV?
Speaker 5 We got to find a graphic because
Speaker 5 it was the worst I've seen, especially on the hills with the conversation we had with the ratings. But yeah, I was surprised for the Stillers to not show up.
Speaker 5 The Chargers ran the ball well, and obviously Herbert made some timely
Speaker 5 throwing catches, including Keenan Allen becoming the all-time leader.
Speaker 1 Congrats, Congrats, Keenan. We love you.
Speaker 1
We're big fans of Keenan. Huge.
First time goes to Chicago, second time he comes back there. I just don't understand why NBC would want to showcase the ass of their positions.
Speaker 1 Like, why is that something you'd want to lead the show with? Why would you want to?
Speaker 1
Can you put that down here? Can you put that down in here too? Yeah. Bradley Bozeman, PFF ranked 36 of 36.
He'll be your center tonight.
Speaker 1 Let's go to Trey Pipkins, the third.
Speaker 1
He's your right tackle. He'll be the 35th out of 36 right tackles in the entire NFL.
And don't you worry, Makai Bechton Sr. here.
You think that actually says 38 of 37. He's close.
It's 36 of 37.
Speaker 1
When we talk about ass, we mean this offensive line here. Austin Deculus.
He is 38 of 38 possible tackles. That is what you're tuning in to watch tonight, folks.
Speaker 1 35, 36, 37, and 38 of their position groups that is what we want yeah why would you even want to sell that wow like why would you let alone if i'm the o-line coach i would sorry if i'm the o-line coach i'm saying hey look what i
Speaker 11 we won this game look who i'm working with even though he doesn't feel that way about the player because he loves them but it does make you think like hey look i can i can coach anybody out here i feel these guys look what they're rated Can we not find a stat for Deculus that makes
Speaker 1 this guy's three-point stance looks cooler than everybody else.
Speaker 2 Put mean cuss on the bottom.
Speaker 1
Deculus. There you go.
Mean cuss. PFF stat.
Mean cuss. Exactly.
This guy, PFF stat, very new, doesn't have a lot of reps. His reps, not good.
Could be good tonight, though.
Speaker 1
Like anything that maybe sells the process. I don't know why.
And it feels like they're even more cemented in without everybody else.
Speaker 1
Yeah, for sure. And that's certainly a part of a negotiation.
I assume Chris Collinsworth has.
Speaker 2 You got to use PFF on it.
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah. You know, it's probably a part of it all.
But it's like, why would you want to do that? Now you pissed off all those players forever. Right.
Speaker 1 Those players and their families are pissed off forever at you. And it's like, also, if you're just a casual watcher, it's like, oh, great.
Speaker 1
Sunday night football is all the worst players in the league. That's cool.
Why does anybody want that out there?
Speaker 1 My brain, too small, too stupid. I don't think I fully understand it.
Speaker 4 Well, and most people understand that you can just throw away that and you just completely ignore it. But like for a lot of casual fans, I mean, that Sunday night football is the biggest game in town.
Speaker 4 We got so many people watching that.
Speaker 4
And it creates unrealistic expectations. So you got fans watching, like Steelers fans who, you know, maybe aren't, you know, someone who covers it day to day like we do.
They look at that.
Speaker 4 It's like, oh, well, if we don't beat the hell out of these guys, we fucking suck.
Speaker 2 Are you kidding me?
Speaker 4 And then that happens and it's like,
Speaker 1
how much are we paying? Yeah, exactly. We got 34, 35, 36, and 38 out of 38 in this offensive line.
DJ Watt can't get home. We're going to lose this game?
Speaker 1 Okay, I don't think so. Yeah, I think everybody's probably on his side, but PFF.
Speaker 1 Well, I guess probably, PFF's probably sick of it too. Like, there's probably people within PFF that are like, we shouldn't be putting out the 38 of 38 rankings.
Speaker 1 Like, I'm sure there's people in there somewhere.
Speaker 11 Is this good free pub for them? Is this free pub that they don't care about, even though it's somewhat negative, public people talking about?
Speaker 1 Yeah, I mean, it's all in how you want to operate and live your life.
Speaker 4 Yeah, it's still going to be on there next Sunday.
Speaker 1 Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1
I was just going to say, you see, I negotiated that internet. This guy sucks.
You see it. This guy's terrible.
This guy really good. He should be asking for a trade actually next year.
This guy, ass.
Speaker 1
That's crazy. Sorry, Bradley.
Hey, Mr. Bozeman.
Sorry, we went back. Hey, all we know, hashtag stat that 1-0 Sunday night against Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1
That's tough, though. Bozeman's got a lot of text from a lot of people that he hasn't talked to in a long time.
But I didn't know you were having such a hard time. You suck at your job, man.
Speaker 1
Hey, the NFL, tough game, dude. Tough game.
These guys are really good.
Speaker 11 Do they rank 36 centers? Sorry. Do they rank 36 centers, or is that just like interior linemen? What is that?
Speaker 1
I think it's centers. Yeah, it's probably positioning injuries and stuff.
Yeah, dude.
Speaker 1 Every snap, every assignment.
Speaker 5 Every assignment.
Speaker 1
You know, every assignment, you weren't supposed to pass that guy off and get the second guy. That guy actually got the sack.
You were supposed to get that guy.
Speaker 1
No, I was never supposed to get that guy. No, you were.
You were.
Speaker 1
PFF size. Get it.
See it? You touched him. You let him go.
Well, yeah, because I was passing him off. The guard's supposed to have it.
Speaker 1 Nope. 51 was the mic.
Speaker 1 No,
Speaker 1
we actually had 55 as the mic here because we were off setting because they got a guy. Nope.
Clearly. Do you want us to show you the diagram? Here's Will.
Here's Sam. Here's the Mike.
Speaker 1
That's all right. That's actually a Joker.
That's a star. That's not even...
Nope. PFF size.
Speaker 1 This is the Mike. We saw you before the snap two point the wrong guy.
Speaker 1 Negative.
Speaker 1
All of it. We saw the quarterback try to get the quarterback came up here and said, hey, no, it's this guy.
And then you shoot him off. You were wrong twice, actually, before they think two negatives.
Speaker 2 Yeah. Don't worry.
Speaker 4 We ding the quarterback as well for not being able to, you know, properly assess who it was. He got dinged as well.
Speaker 1
Yeah, he should have been able to convince you that you were wrong. So he got a negative for the players.
Well, EFF size. Listen, we don't want to turn this entire show into this because we could.
Speaker 1 We could. We could go.
Speaker 1
I could go 45 minutes right now. Yep, easy.
Just acting like I'm a stats hero, which there's a lot of you out there. Okay, not as much as it was before.
Speaker 1 Four years ago feels like the stats people were really were the kings of sports.
Speaker 1
It really did feel like it. Then reality settled in a little bit.
Like, hey, you know, numbers are numbers, but the people that are creating the numbers, okay, existing in real time, humans.
Speaker 1 And unless something's 100 to zero, even then, maybe it's not a guarantee that you guys are right.
Speaker 1 If stats were right, then sports betting wouldn't be a thing because it would be easy just to kind of read what you guys say. And then that's a matter of fact.
Speaker 1 But like humans don't wake up like video games. You know, humans wake up, maybe they're supposed to be a 94 and they wake up at an 82, you know, because it's week 10.
Speaker 1
Or sometimes people wake up and they say, hey, I'm 99 today. I don't got the chain.
I don't have any of that.
Speaker 1 but you all just kind of view it as a video game these stats people so we just want to let you know we appreciate you stats people we appreciate the humility over the last couple years because massive piece of football and on that note every time they put up the pff ranking you all look like assholes
Speaker 1 valid
Speaker 1 yeah it's not just pfff that looks like an asshole it's all the stats world looks like because us in the sports world that we i my entire career was built off stats obviously much more basic stats than the stats you guys find and i respect stats but us in the sports world just go like these idiots still at the very beginning just don't get it.
Speaker 1
They just don't get it. They just don't get it.
And they're just sticking to their ways, which is awesome. Yeah, we're going to put 38 out of 38 up there.
Somebody's typing that in.
Speaker 1 Oh, boy. And approving it, man.
Speaker 1
Do we want to run this in the open? Biggest game of the night. Pittsburgh Steelers are part of this one.
Probably going to be pretty big. Chargers big.
Speaker 1 Sunday night football, we've been waiting all day. Up and to the right.
Speaker 1 You want to run this? 38 out of 38? Kind of makes this guy look like ass.
Speaker 1 Is that what he is?
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1 Send it out there,
Speaker 1 and they get a win. This Steelers team might stink.
Speaker 2 Oh, no.
Speaker 1 Oh, no.
Speaker 1 I think. A lot of overreaction tweets coming from Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 3
I think they're just an average football team. They can look shitty one night.
They can look great one week. And at the end, we're just going to be the same we have been for the last few years.
Speaker 1
All right. We hit the top five headlines in the first hour.
We missed a couple things. And we always say, hey, Deba, what were the two things maybe we missed in our first 15?
Speaker 1 Deeba, what were those two things that we missed in our first 15?
Speaker 5 We'll start with the New York Jets. The first thing we missed with the first 15, obviously Nick Mangold, they did a great job, you know, representing him.
Speaker 5 Jeremy Ruckert, former Ohio State tight end, actually walked in with Nick Mango's jersey. I thought it was
Speaker 5
awesome. And then the Jets, they showed up.
They got a gritty win. We talked about teams with the back against the wall.
wall, teams obviously selling at the trade deadline.
Speaker 5
How are they going to show up? How they're going to compete. And they did it.
Even with this ugly stat line from the offense and the quarterback position, the special teams, the third phase showed up.
Speaker 5 We got Juan Gu right here with a 95-yard kick return.
Speaker 1 Unbelievable. You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 1 Goo!
Speaker 1 Up the sideline.
Speaker 5 Unbelievable play. When you're a team struggling, especially on offense, these special teams plays, they play a huge role in getting your team to win.
Speaker 5
And then the very next return, we got a long punt return from Isaiah Williams. Now, you never see this.
I believe we saw it earlier in the season with the Patriots.
Speaker 5 They had two back-to-back returns, but this is unbelievable against the Cleveland Browns right here. You cannot have this with Isaiah Williams and the flag was obviously not on the New York Jets.
Speaker 5 Unbelievable job by the New York Jets.
Speaker 1 You say, we say, I say
Speaker 1 Wilson.
Speaker 1
Williams him. Williams.
Williams? Williams. Isaiah Williams.
That's what I said. I said Wilson.
That's exactly what he said. I clearly said Wilson.
But it is Mr. Williams.
Speaker 1 Anytime your special teams can roll like that, come on.
Speaker 5
And Brees Hall, Brees Hall had a big game, too. He had a late, this was the touchdown here.
Once again,
Speaker 5 Phil's only completed six packs.
Speaker 1 Seed. This is
Speaker 5 right between the two and the zeros.
Speaker 5 Great blocking on the edge, and he gets up on the field. Obviously, Brees Hall was a big name around the
Speaker 5
trade deadline as well. He had a big game.
Another guy who was a big name around the deadline, Will McDonnell.
Speaker 1 He had four sacks.
Speaker 5 So once again, when that all...
Speaker 1 He had a farm, dude.
Speaker 5 He had four sacks.
Speaker 5 He had an unbelievable performance and i thought aaron glenn we talked about it earlier with the uh with the dolphins and mike mcdaniel aaron glenn you know when you're selling and you're trading and you're getting all these picks and you're obviously rebuilding for the future how are the guys in that locker room going to show up and compete it obviously is going to represent how the coach hasn't prepared he had a great post-game speech i thought the post-game vibes were in and something he said at the end of this speech was it's not just about buying but it's about staying.
Speaker 5 So obviously you buy in and it feels great when you get a win right here.
Speaker 1 We know how it was with the ugly start with the detroit lions and now they're absolute waggon maybe this is the beginning for the new york jets who's been looking for a turnaround for a long long time what happened in detroit first year mcdc and aaron glenn obviously a massive piece of what happened up there in detroit but what happened in your first year with uh dc started out 0-10 3-13 and one was the final record there okay so obviously it might take a little bit to flip an entire culture feels like the jets for this time are ahead of schedule maybe in a restart because they were able to get rid of some of the big pieces of the past aj is that what you're thinking well?
Speaker 11
Yeah, it's definitely possible. But the thing about the Lions compared to the Jets, the Lions had Jared Goff, right, the whole time.
Are the Jets moving forward with, is this their quarterback?
Speaker 11 Do they have their franchise quarterback?
Speaker 1 Now, I will say, every insider and football pundit person from ESPN that we talked to, okay,
Speaker 1
says they got a lot of picks, they got a lot of money. Now they got to go make a selection at quarterback and blah, blah, blah.
They've already done that. They selected Justin Fields.
Many times.
Speaker 1
They paid Justin Fields a lot of money. They paid him $30 million, I think, in in total, $20 million a year.
Now, granted, is that anything in comparison to what other quarterbacks are getting? No.
Speaker 1
But the Pittsburgh Steelers had him last year. The Pittsburgh Steelers made him an offer.
I think a couple other teams made an offer.
Speaker 1
New York Jets paid him by far the most money to be their quarterback. So I'm not saying that they said, hey, Justin Fields is our answer forever, but they certainly have made a quarterback.
decision
Speaker 1
already. And it's like, it has not worked out.
There was a stat something about like 12 yards or something. Yeah.
Fewest pass yards in a game this season coming from Hembo real quick.
Speaker 1
Jets in week six, six loss versus the Broncos 10. Jets in week 10 versus the Browns 42.
Jets in week two lost versus Bills 54. And what was the stat?
Speaker 2 If you take out the 42-yard touchdown from Brees Hall's screen right there, Justin Fields had 12 passing yards.
Speaker 5 Why are we taking it out?
Speaker 1 I agree.
Speaker 1
That's the stat I saw. He adds the stat we saw.
That's what I saw. Yeah, and once again, I just saw it.
My eyes saw it. And once I saw it, I thought to myself, well, that's impossible.
Speaker 1 And if ifs and buts were Kennedys and nuts, we'd all blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, what, you know, but obviously you can't take away a pass and then say that was his total pass yards.
Speaker 1 But what the stat was alluding to is like, was this Brees Hall or was this Justin Fields here? And then once you say, okay, well, let's eliminate that. Let's just go straight to Justin Fields.
Speaker 1 They're like, barely a first down.
Speaker 5 This guy's throwing four. Yeah, so I did see the next-gen passing chart and it was pouring.
Speaker 1 It was
Speaker 1 pouring rain for one.
Speaker 2 But also, like, with Fields, and of course, you need a long-term answer at quarterback for sure. But if you have picks that are in the top 10,
Speaker 2 how valuable are five, you know, or sorry, three five-star players, whether that's offensive line, defensive line, you know, corner, and granted, they just traded two of those positions away, but still, like, let's say they do say smaller contracts, yeah, yeah, smaller contracts.
Speaker 2 And let's say with Fields, it's like, okay, you're right, we did pick our guy for two years, so let's just ride this contract out.
Speaker 2 We have a bunch more picks, you know, the year after, but yeah, it may be.
Speaker 1 There's no way they can play with justin fields again next week i mean next year no chance there's no way you know what and justin we love justin i don't really know him actually but i am a fan of justin fields from afar i think he's probably a great human i think he's a great leader i love his commitment to his body i appreciate everything he did at ohio state i think he's a freak athlete i think when he gets the ball in his hands he's the fastest guy on the field it is amazing to watch tough he's actually tough too he took a monster shot if you remember in college as well and kept coming yeah but in the nfl as well when he was back with the bears oh yeah the only highlights that were coming from their very terrible seasons were Justin Fields either running over people or around people.
Speaker 1 I mean, he is a Dano couldn't be MVP. Yeah, I think Dano had to make some decisions because of some potential narratives that were building about the way he felt about people.
Speaker 1 You know, that is certainly something that I think Dano was doing in that particular moment there, you know, because he gave some takes and everybody was like, this guy seemingly
Speaker 1 MVP, actually.
Speaker 5 Oh, how state quarterback?
Speaker 1
Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
That's exactly what it was at the time. It got hot in the kitchen for Dano.
Yeah. I mean, And he did it on our show.
So it's one of those things, whenever.
Speaker 1 What people say on these microphones don't necessarily reflect the opinions of their peers, their boss, or currently at the moment, the company that is licensing this show, ESPN.
Speaker 1 With that being said, what people say on the microphones on this particular show certainly goes... Hey.
Speaker 5 Controversial case.
Speaker 1
Jeopardy. Shout out.
Dano certainly threw himself into a fire or two on our particular show. So I got to see his mentions.
Speaker 1
I got to ride in his mentions for a little bit. They are not spectacular, but he did have hope for Justin Fields.
I think we all did because of how athletic he is. Like how athletic.
He's so athletic.
Speaker 1
He's so athletic. He's so athletic.
I think accuracy is a thing. You know, I don't know if it's necessarily easy.
And being a quarterback is not necessarily an easy job.
Speaker 3 And for a while, it was like, oh, the Bears organization just. didn't do him any favors at all.
Speaker 3
And then last year, it wasn't terrible. It wasn't great either.
And then this year, but no, I think the Jets are probably going to have, you know, a Mendoza or a Moore or a Simpson at quarterback.
Speaker 1 Mendoza will be joining us today in about 20 minutes or so.
Speaker 1 Joining us right now, ladies and gentlemen, is the voice of college football, the face of Thursday Night Football on Prime alongside Al Michaels.
Speaker 1 Ladies and gentlemen, a man who almost predicted a football game exactly this past weekend in Oregon and Iowa, Kirk Kirbshade.
Speaker 1 How you doing, Herbie? We're talking about the Jets there a little bit with Justin Fields.
Speaker 1 Obviously, they move on from Quinn and Sauce and everybody's starting to think they're quitting and mailing it in.
Speaker 1 They get a huge win with special teams and defense and obviously Brees Hall able to do his thing.
Speaker 1 What are your thoughts on the Jets' moves and Justin Fields as a quarterback and also Dayball fired as the New York Giants head coach earlier today?
Speaker 1 Just kind of New York state of mind from Kirk Herb Street, if you will.
Speaker 10 Well, I think, first of all, anytime you need a pick-me-up, you go into that AFC North, you get the Bengals-Browns back-to-back. You got a really good shot of kind of getting your swagger back.
Speaker 10 So you can thank me later for that. I mean, how the Bengals lost that game to the Jets two weeks ago is
Speaker 10
I think everybody's still scratching their head. But to their credit, they use that special teams.
Sometimes you just got to find ways to win games. And that's what they were able to do.
Speaker 10 I heard you guys kind of
Speaker 10 having some fun with the fact that Brees Hall took that screen and took it to the house.
Speaker 10 It was not a great day for the offense, but
Speaker 3 totality.
Speaker 10 It's a team that I think is dying to get some wins, and especially after the trade deadline, so many rumors about Brees Hall.
Speaker 10 You mentioned McDonald, and now they have what they have, and it's go time. And I just love to see a team still fighting, right? I mean, they're still scratching.
Speaker 10 They're still trying to find ways to win games.
Speaker 10 Brees Hall gives them, I think, a playmaker, a dynamic playmaker.
Speaker 10 But the reality is with Justin Fields and this offense, I mean, how about the owner comes out three or four weeks ago and just says, if we can just complete a pass, if we can just complete a pass, that would really help the cause.
Speaker 10 And for him to have to block that out in the middle of the year and still go out and wear that uniform and that jersey and still go out and compete um he's handled that with great class i'll tell you what he said i'm not gonna come i'm not gonna complete a pass actually no how about that how about
Speaker 1 i'm joking i'm joking i'm joking i'm joking but the owner's saying it is crazy the owner's saying it is absolutely crazy and immensely the mental toughness which i think we all like about justin fields we like his leadership we like his mental toughness i love how committed he is to his body how committed he is to the sport i just think on the field it really hasn't worked out.
Speaker 1 What's your status?
Speaker 3 To the point of all this, teams coming into this since 1950 when holding opponents to 175 yards or less and not turning the ball over were 225 and 0 is now 225 and 1 for the 2.
Speaker 1 Shout out to the Bronze.
Speaker 1 Shout out to the Bronx. And then let's talk about Dayball over there.
Speaker 1 Obviously, they have the quarterback carousel this offseason where they're trying to find out who is going to be the guy that's going to be taking snaps for them after they move on from Danny Dimes.
Speaker 1
Danny Dimes is now an MVP. It looks like Wilson right now having an improvement.
Danny Dimes is obviously in the MVP conversation alongside Jonathan Taylor. We're going to win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1
Saquon Barkley won a Super Bowl with Philadelphia Eagles. Everybody leaves that place and has great success.
Now Dayball is the next one kind of getting booted.
Speaker 1 What is this an indicator of in your eyes? And what are your thoughts on the state of the Giants right now?
Speaker 10 Well, I mean, you went through that, and I think a lot of people thought when they let go of Saquon and they didn't come with answers that following year that Dayball would maybe be let go, they stuck with him.
Speaker 10
And, you know, he made it pretty clear. We actually had Patriots Giants preseason.
And Dayball made it very clear to me that Jackson Dart is going to be special. You know, he said,
Speaker 10 I got rust right now, but man, I really love this rookie and what he can do. And obviously, eventually we saw him get that opportunity.
Speaker 10
This is another franchise that just figures out ways to lose games. You know, like they just don't know how yet how to win football games and play complimentary football.
They play well enough.
Speaker 10 You go back and look at, I don't know, four or five of their losses. They've played well enough to win these games and they just can't close them out.
Speaker 10 And I think that whoever inherits this job is going to inherit a team that has a lot of potential. I mean, when you put Scataboo and Malik Neighbors and Jackson Dart all together, all healthy,
Speaker 10 there's a lot, I think, to work with, not to mention what they have on that defensive front. So whoever's going to get this job down the road,
Speaker 10 it's not like you're starting from square one and how do we get this thing going in the right direction? I think the vision of what they had there
Speaker 10
is there. I think you can see it.
I just think that this team at times seems to almost be jinx.
Speaker 10 They just cannot close out games and games that they played well enough to win that they're sitting there scratching their head thinking, how the hell do we get ourselves in this predicament?
Speaker 10
So I think it's, I love Dable. Dave's a great guy.
He'll land on his feet somewhere. But whoever gets this job to me is going to have a hell of a nucleus to work with moving forward.
Speaker 1
Yeah, I love, we all love Scataboo. Obviously, Jackson Dart needs to take care of himself going forward.
We hope he's able to do that.
Speaker 1
And obviously, the New York market is a beautiful one if you're able to win. Will anybody ever again is kind of the question.
Bruce, we haven't really got your thoughts on Dayball Exit in Town.
Speaker 1 New York Giants fan, Bruce Brown.
Speaker 1 There had to be accountability.
Speaker 15
Brian Dable's 2040-1 record is the worst of any coach in Giants' history. Shout out to Hembo.
You know, this was the. McAdoo.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1
That's worse than McAdoo. Worse than Shermer.
McAdoo. That's a good thing.
Speaker 6 McAdoo was good before he got that haircut. When he had the bad haircut, he was a good coach.
Speaker 1 No, he's a Western Pennsylvania guy, too. So I didn't love everything he was doing with his hair and all that stuff.
Speaker 1 And the way you guys in New York were talking about him, I didn't necessarily love because how similar our names were and how we grew up in the same waters and everything like that.
Speaker 1
But I thought he would have definitely been the worst. But no, that's not the gang.
gangsta, I guess. Hembo says, geez, Luis.
Speaker 15 Part of it is, you know, 2022, he won Coach of the Year, and we won a playoff game, and that kind of extended his leash to get to the 61 games to be able to
Speaker 15
lose 40 of them. I mean, it sucks.
I agree. I think Brian Dayball is probably a good football coach.
Speaker 15 You know, coached under Nick Saban and Bill Belichick, and, you know, seems like he's a pretty good football mind, but losing is a disease that infected the Giants' organization and, you know, kind of reared its head worse this year than ever before, where you're blowing three, 10-point leads on the road.
Speaker 15 But, you know, it's also not all on Brian Dable.
Speaker 15 Like, Joe Shane built the secondary that has turned into the worst in the NFL this year, missed on a ton of draft picks, both on defense and in the trenches with the O-line.
Speaker 15 So hopefully there's more accountability. Shane Bowen probably doesn't deserve to be defensive coordinator, and I don't know if Joe Shane deserves to be a GM looking for a head coach.
Speaker 1 Jays, Giants fans, certainly going through it. Second half losses, especially whenever you have the lead, just
Speaker 1 take it.
Speaker 1 Just take everything out of you. Okay, let's pivot away from the bad news in New York and let's go to some good news maybe in Cincinnati, your hometown.
Speaker 1 Joe Burrows back in practice. Wow.
Speaker 1
Break news. That's breaking news as of today.
Your thoughts on that as a Bengals fan? I know you just buried them with saying, hey, you want to get on track? You want to get a little good aura?
Speaker 1
Go to Ohio. Take on the Bengals and the Browns.
Well, now, Joey B back on the practice field. What does this mean for you, Herb Street?
Speaker 10 I really wondered all along with this injury, if the Bengals stayed within striking distance, which is debatable, what does that mean?
Speaker 10 Would he come back? Would he sit out the rest of the year to try to get 100% healthy? Or, I mean, you guys know about Turf, though, and he had the most severe case of that with the surgery.
Speaker 10 You just wonder, is he, it's great to see him back on the practice field.
Speaker 10 Is he coming back and easing his way back in? Is this, you know, another three or four weeks away? I have no idea.
Speaker 10 I have no idea what the case is, but I just love to see that this guy is as competitive as anybody you're ever going to meet. And I'm sure he's dying to get back on the field with his guys.
Speaker 10 But I wondered, I mean, that division
Speaker 10 has been upside down all year with the injuries.
Speaker 10 Clearly still appears to be the Ravens division to win. Sorry about that, Tone.
Speaker 1 I'll give it a hit.
Speaker 10 I'd love to see him back, but I don't know if I'd be in a hurry if I were him with the offensive line play.
Speaker 1 At what cost? Now, granted, they spent money on everything, and he's a massive piece of that offensively. Are they constructed to win ever?
Speaker 1 And do we just have them not risk it next year, too, when they start the season?
Speaker 10 You know, just I think that's fair.
Speaker 1 Maybe, maybe forever if we don't get them protected.
Speaker 10 Until you invest in an offensive line.
Speaker 1 They've tried.
Speaker 10 And that's been the case since he, they have tried, but
Speaker 10 the guys that they've tried with,
Speaker 10 They've hit a couple, but it's tough.
Speaker 1 Bengals van right here just going through it in real time.
Speaker 1
They've tried to bring in new offensive linemen. They've tried, Herbie.
They've tried. Yeah, they certainly have.
And guess what? Has it worked? Joe Burrow, he's back to practice. It's well asked AJ.
Speaker 10 Teddy Karras was a hit at center.
Speaker 2 I love Teddy Free Agent.
Speaker 10 Teddy Karris is a hit, but that's one hit and a lot of misses up front.
Speaker 1 Has Flacco been getting beat up?
Speaker 9 They dropped the Whitbirth, right?
Speaker 4 That's impossible.
Speaker 1
And then he let him go. I think that went out bad.
if you listen to the end of that, even though, hey, he's ruler of the jungle the other night, that's right.
Speaker 1
And they did win the night he was ruler of the jungle. Good to see Big Witt back in Cincinnati.
Hopefully, they're in good
Speaker 10 wit would start if he came back. He would be a starter on a lot of teams.
Speaker 1 Maybe tight ends. On a lot of teams, but definitely in Cincinnati.
Speaker 10 Well, hey, he's a tight end now. Maybe he's like 245, 250.
Speaker 1
I think maybe quarterbacks. I don't know if he has a higher with Joe Burrow's time.
We have some scoopage, though, here from Jason Glazer. Yeah, scoopage.
Speaker 1 Last week, Joe Burrow told me he's returning way sooner than was expected and gave me the timeline of by Thanksgiving. Now we'll start practicing on a limited basis.
Speaker 1
Absolutely unreal attack of rehab, which he did with me, and response. At first, medical people didn't believe he'd be back before playoffs.
Huge
Speaker 1 jump for him. He's a fucking G.
Speaker 1 Shout out to Jay Glazer getting a little scoopage there. Herbie, obviously, that's real-time baseball we're doing.
Speaker 10
Hey, we had a bandwidth. That was going to text you.
We had the term bandwidth from
Speaker 10 Ty could have used that with Pete Samuel this morning when he was talking. As soon as he said, well, my bandwidth, I was like, God, I got to hit Pat.
Speaker 1 Hey, if you would have seen the conversations I was having this morning, brother, I mean, tomorrow's show is about to be pretty legendary.
Speaker 10 Oh, you guys are going to Paris Island tomorrow, right?
Speaker 1
Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
Speaker 10 Oh, my God.
Speaker 1
Hey, it's about to be some. Not as, hey, listen.
I don't know if we fully recognize how massive tomorrow is until we're there. Because I've had a chance to be there.
Speaker 1 When you're there, it's just like you know, you're walking on like hallowed ground, like you understand what's going on.
Speaker 1 And then it being Veterans Day and the people that are going to be coming, you know, a lot of appearances on the show tomorrow, pretty big names.
Speaker 1 And obviously, he had this planned out long time in advance.
Speaker 1 You know, I wasn't calling everybody this morning to try to, you know, hey, I think.
Speaker 1
I think we got an incredible opportunity here. We'd love if you'd be able to help.
And tomorrow will be absolutely crazy as we say thanks to the Veterans Live from Paris Island.
Speaker 1 All right, Herbie, let's talk about what we need to talk about.
Speaker 10 You should ride in on the bus.
Speaker 10 You know what I mean? Can you do that? Yeah.
Speaker 10 Get yelled at right there when you step on the steps.
Speaker 1 To the yellow footprints there right at the beginning.
Speaker 1
We'll do a special on this entire. We will definitely inform people what it's like.
38. I don't know if.
Speaker 4 I ain't signing up to play Marine.
Speaker 1
Well, I don't think you should. That's what I'm saying.
I don't think you should. Yeah, we didn't sign that line.
Speaker 1 And that's why we're going to say thank you.
Speaker 1 We're going to say thank you to those who did. But on that note, I have done the...
Speaker 1
Right. I've done it.
I've actually done it this past summer.
Speaker 1
Yeah, I don't know if I would have been the one, man. 18.
Yeah, right.
Speaker 1 You got some bad.
Speaker 10 Gumpy would have done it.
Speaker 1 What's the
Speaker 1 Gump would have done that if the Canadian equivalent?
Speaker 11 Yeah, I don't know if it's a Canadian Marine. I thought it was a Canadian Navy Sports.
Speaker 1
I don't know if they have Canadian Marines. They have the Martins.
I don't think they have Marines. I mean, we need to make sure we have some respect here for what the Marines are.
Speaker 1
Happy birthday to them, by the way. Uh-rah.
Uh-rah. Uh-rah.
I'll have you right there. All right, let's talk a little bit about what you did this past weekend.
Speaker 1 You know, on our show last Thursday, you did something. You just, you called a sneaky win out publicly.
Speaker 1 Therefore, if you make a spotlight moment of something sneaky, guess what isn't sneaking anymore? The sneaky thing.
Speaker 1 So you awoke a potential giant in a massive way whenever you said Iowa going to beat Oregon this weekend. Oregon heard it immediately upon you saying it.
Speaker 1
They ran it not only then to the team, the entire weekend. They were running.
Hey, everybody thinks we're not going to show up. Everybody thinks we're not going to show up.
Speaker 1
Then we get the game day down in Texas Tech Lubbock. What a crowd.
What a place. What a time.
Speaker 1
Unbelievable. Unbelievable.
We get to. I'm a huge fan.
Yeah, me too.
Speaker 1 I think I'm happy that they're going to be good for the long haul because I think every time we go there in the future, we need to go there every year. Bingo.
Speaker 1
I think it's going to be awesome every single year down there. They took care of it.
That food, Evie May's, best food we've got.
Speaker 10 Unbelievable.
Speaker 1 Everything about it is awesome. The set, the crowd, the food, the vibe, everything
Speaker 10 If you're looking for the nicest human beings, we found them in West Texas. Yes.
Speaker 10 As an entire group, they're amazing.
Speaker 1
The tortilla tosses to it. I mean, it's all awesome.
That can't catch it.
Speaker 1 I think he's a strength coach.
Speaker 1 I think he's one of the strength coaches. Oh, really? I don't know what sport, but I think he's a strength coach, I think, from what I'm learning.
Speaker 1
But we finally get to the picks. Patrick Mahomes is there, obviously.
Massive fan. Thank you to him for coming through.
Speaker 1 And also, giving back to the sport as much as he does down there at Texas Tech, along with Cody Campbell and the Double eagle boys up there everything they're doing there is spectacular first class but we got to the Iowa Oregon game and uh I didn't know what you were going to do I honestly I looked over and I had no idea what you were going to do are you going to just say you know what I ruined this I'm sorry Iowa it got too loud I'm going with Oregon you doubled down you you said doubled down you said I'm doubling down I think Iowa wins this game this is a game that Oregon is going to and I gave you the specific it's the November dark rainy You don't know what's going on.
Speaker 10
The team that's there has no idea what hit them. Kinnick gets over top of them.
16-15, one of those ugly Iowa scores. You have no idea how we got to 16-15, but that's where we're going to be.
Speaker 10 That's the final score. That's how Iowa's going to win.
Speaker 1
So you were calling a game while this was happening, and I was texting you. I'm like, yo, it's 2-0 right now in this game.
You say you don't know what?
Speaker 10
That was perfect. 2-0.
We're off to a great start.
Speaker 1
You're like, you have no idea how we're going to get to this score. Like 2-0 being being the start of that thing is like hilarious.
It's like, hey, Herbie, 2-0 right now.
Speaker 1
And then you're calling another game. All of a sudden, it gets to the point.
It's like, hey, Herbie,
Speaker 1 everything you have said is coming to fruition right now. Legitimately.
Speaker 10
How about this quarterback draw? And I'm like, oh my God, they're going to go for two if they score this. And they're going to miss it.
It's going to be 16-15.
Speaker 10
I was like, touchdown. Now we got to miss the two-pointer.
Miss the two-pointer is all we need.
Speaker 1 Yeah, well, Herbie, I want to let you know, just you've been around college ball for a long time okay but i don't think you're supposed to just know exactly how a game is supposed to end and honestly you even knew it when you were saying it that you might be saying everything how this game is going to end but it's going to go the other way because of how
Speaker 1 what a ball by dante
Speaker 1 what a ball by dante more right there but it went the other way strictly because of what you did on thursday strictly giving me yes you're giving this to me no i'm not giving it to you i'm saying it's a hundred percent your fault You need to be taking it.
Speaker 10 I'm saying you're giving me the blame.
Speaker 1 Yes.
Speaker 10 I gave the blueprint. I gave the whole thing.
Speaker 1 Yep.
Speaker 10
Your fault. It's just the last minute, last second field goal.
I can't account for that.
Speaker 1 Ty, how do the Iowans feel about what Herbstreak did? First on Thursday saying, hey, Dan Lane.
Speaker 10 Dude, if it would have been 40 to 6,
Speaker 10 I would have eaten it.
Speaker 1
I would have said that's 100% on me. Okay.
But it's 16 to freaking 50.
Speaker 1 It's exactly what I said. Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker 1 Let's hear from Iowa, please. Let's hear from Iowa, please.
Speaker 4 I would imagine that a lot of people in the state are still pretty pissed at Herbie because after Thursday.
Speaker 1 Wait, hey, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
Speaker 4 After Thursday, because it was kind of, it was pretty quiet. I think a lot of Iowa fans going in were very, very confident coming off the bye week and how they looked against Minnesota.
Speaker 4 And it's like, okay, we're kind of starting to get things going here.
Speaker 4 I think we might actually beat Oregon then you say it and it kind of magnifies thing but that's whatever but I told Pat I would have hated you for the rest of my life if you would have picked Oregon on Saturday it would have been the most chicken shit thing yeah of all time and when you yeah I didn't I didn't hesitate exactly I was not giving up so you you picked the hawks and and you know what yeah unfortunately it just it just didn't go their way a couple I mean Caden Weechin fumbles in the red zone.
Speaker 4 You know, like Iowa realistically probably should have won that game by a touchdown. Just, you know,
Speaker 4 the safety, I mean, they couldn't, they couldn't punt early in the game, which is obviously very atypical for Iowa. So it was just, you know, I mean, hey, hats off to you, Herbie.
Speaker 4 I think Iowa fans knew, too, that your, your prediction for the game was pretty spot on, and it was going to have to be like that if they were going to win.
Speaker 1
Herbie knows ball. So a lot of people saying Herbie knows ball.
Yes. Maybe a little too.
Speaker 10 I just, I just, I think we all expected it to be, I was being a smart ass when I said 16, 15, because Iowa games they always get into that that when they pull off these upsets it's just how did we get to this number and so i just threw out a 1615 and damn it if we didn't if we weren't sitting on 1615 there at the end and i i i i would have officially retired if oregon would not have come back and i would have been like i'm done 1615.
Speaker 1 no iowa knocks off you should at least taken a victory lap on saturday you know you should have done at least done
Speaker 1 and then done yeah show the highlight please what i say what i say what i say what i say what i say hey what happened in the game? What happened in the game? Thank you. My name's Kirk Kirbstreet.
Speaker 1 It's been a blast. Goodbye.
Speaker 1 Pittsburgh would have gone crazy for you for your contributions. Cannot wait.
Speaker 10 By the way, how about game day going to Pittsburgh?
Speaker 1
Come on. Come on.
Not bad.
Speaker 10 We didn't make it to Morgantown, but we're going to make it to Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1
I saw some WVU people coming after me, obviously, for this tweet. Oh, you'll go to this, but you won't go to the backyard brawl.
We lost to Ohio the week before. Right.
Okay. Yes.
We lost to Ohio.
Speaker 1 You can't lose in Athens. Good football team.
Speaker 10 You can't lose in Athens, Ohio, and host game day the next week.
Speaker 1 Now, on that note, Pittsburgh has not had a Saturday college game day, like a full college game day in 20 years.
Speaker 2 It was,
Speaker 10 when was it?
Speaker 1
20 years, I think, is what they said. Yeah.
Yeah.
Speaker 10 I remember we were along right by the river outside of the stadium.
Speaker 1
I think we're doing the same spot. I think it's the same area.
I think
Speaker 1 River Shot, I think. Is it or no?
Speaker 1 I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 10 Isn't there a big park over there on the other side of the river? Isn't there a big famous park over there?
Speaker 1 Boyce Park.
Speaker 11 Boyce Park, where you play?
Speaker 1
Boyce Park's in Plumboro, where the ballers ball and the players play. It's not downtown.
We're in the North Shore right here. I think from what I saw, we might be along a river.
Speaker 1 I think, I don't know.
Speaker 3 You know, there's a full astroturf field outside of the stadium now because of the draft, I believe. So you might be able to use that for the content.
Speaker 1 We think the Pittsburgh kid makes the kick or not.
Speaker 3 You should probably stop doing it.
Speaker 10 Every week they make it.
Speaker 1
John was booby traps out there. We needed John.
Well, Kirk tried to bring out some blockers, but we had high school kids holding it five feet in front of these. This guy.
Speaker 1 What a kick sexual one.
Speaker 1 I'll tell you what.
Speaker 10 Pat, you teach me this, but anytime I see a guy slip off his sneakers and go barefoot, this guy knows what he's doing.
Speaker 1 See,
Speaker 1 I don't fully understand it, actually. And I think it's more because the plant foot will slip, maybe some of these, because it's like turf.
Speaker 1
But I don't know why you wouldn't think that a sock would slip, too. I don't fully comprehend it.
I don't know.
Speaker 1 vandy was the first time it happened where i was like okay this is possible uh if someone takes off their shoes i shouldn't immediately think they're the stupidest person of all time for just kicking the ball without a shoe on this guy had like a hoka looking shoe on a little big base on the bottom of it the story hey we're learning that in real time though herbie i don't think people fully understand that we're learning in real time that this guy missed the kick his junior year of high school
Speaker 1 how about that yeah like in real time i'm like oh my god what a nightmare in that state yes that's like what a nightmare for that kid death threats.
Speaker 1
He got death threats. He needed to make that first one, bro.
That first one. Him missing that for him.
I'm like, golly, got to do another one. Got to.
Speaker 1
For this guy's going to think about this for the rest of his life. Yeah.
The rest of his life.
Speaker 1
He's going to get dunked on even more because now they know about the high school. So only the people at his high school knew.
Now everybody knows about that. And also this guy.
This guy sucks.
Speaker 1
You can't do it. So he would.
Right. Yeah.
How about the guy?
Speaker 10
Junior year misses the kick in the state championship. Senior year, you're done.
You can kick off. What'd he say? Kick off an onside kick or something like that? Yep.
Speaker 1
Yeah. He was a weapon there.
He got the ball back a couple times from my stats and understanding. But the second one, if you hear me, I go, yo, kick through the ball.
It was clear what he did.
Speaker 1
It was probably the exact same thing that happened in his extra point his junior year. Saw his quads tighten up.
Literally, as I'm watching him, I see his body tighten up. I'm like, oh, no, not good.
Speaker 1
And he kind of punches through. Thing goes to the left.
So I literally was trying my best to be like, yo, swing through the ball, bro. Let's go.
Speaker 1
A lot of people are saying it was windy conditions out there. It wasn't.
A little right to left.
Speaker 10 A little right to left there.
Speaker 1
But the tortillas that were throwing, I think everybody thought like the wind was taking those tortillas. No, those people were.
They were trying to hit that ball.
Speaker 1
They were trying to hit that ball with those tortillas. I mean, that was the bigger obstacle was the tortillas.
Imagine if a tortilla hits that ball.
Speaker 1
That's going in. John misses again.
Oh, no. What a moment.
Oh, look at that. Yeah, I'm happy for John though.
John, way to go, buddy. Producty, John.
Producti, John.
Speaker 1
I think the Pittsburgh kid makes it. Okay, let's get back to some college ball talk.
Shall we go ahead, D-Bud?
Speaker 5
Yeah, Herbie. Obviously, we know how dialed in you are to both games, college football and pro football.
So, you're the perfect person to ask: Who's QB1 right now in the NFL draft going to next year?
Speaker 5 I know there's a lot of names we expected coming into this season to be at the top of this board right here, but obviously, it's Mendoza and Ty Simpson, probably Dante Moore, two of the draft eligible quarterbacks.
Speaker 5 Who's QB1 right now, in your opinion?
Speaker 10 I don't know if he's draft eligible.
Speaker 10 I think Julian San
Speaker 10 and I think CJ Carr at Notre Dame.
Speaker 1 Okay, neither of those guys can get drafted. This is just like when you're like,
Speaker 1 the guys that make a lot of money need to shut up.
Speaker 10 Dude, the guys that we had up on the board have all...
Speaker 10 struggled. You know, like they, they just
Speaker 10 think of all the names at the beginning beginning of the year, and none of those guys are still being talked about. You know,
Speaker 10 I really think
Speaker 10 that the Lenore Sellers, remember him, beginning of the year?
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah.
Speaker 10 Everybody thought he was going to be the first pick overall.
Speaker 2 Yeah.
Speaker 10
The Mendoza kid's been amazing. I mean, what he's doing in Indiana is incredible.
How about the drive? Everybody's talking about that catch. How about the drive itself?
Speaker 10 He got sacked on the first play of that drive.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah.
Speaker 10 And brought them back
Speaker 10
to be able to eventually get in position to win that game. That throw right there down the seam, incredible.
That kind of reset them and got them believing.
Speaker 10
We're so focused on the catch, and we should be. That was the best catch maybe we've ever seen.
I mean, we look at the footwork,
Speaker 10 but look at these three throws that he made to get him down inside there.
Speaker 10 And he does it every single week.
Speaker 1 Filthy. I don't know.
Speaker 10 Did anybody expect Mendoza to be this guy coming over from Cal
Speaker 1 into Indiana? No, so Kid Conada's little brother, obviously, last year, Rourke with Indiana, was the storyline because it's like, will Signetti be able to find another Rourke? I doubt it.
Speaker 1
And then bring in the kid from Cal, and it's like, wait a minute. Kid from Cal had a lot of success last year.
Kid from Cal has actually had some big games.
Speaker 1 So I don't think anybody was expecting magic, but I think there wasn't as big of a falloff for Indiana from Indiana fans' thoughts after Rourke leaves.
Speaker 1
But nobody could have expected him to be the best player in college football or whatever the case is. And then Omar Cooper Jr.
is an Indiana kid. He's from around here.
This kid's from around here.
Speaker 1
So we're obviously incredibly happy for him. That's good on Sundays.
Same catch. And also, the ref in real time.
Watching
Speaker 1 that ref.
Speaker 10 Look at that ref's form.
Speaker 1
That's incredible. Legit.
Look at that.
Speaker 10
And we're looking at it and super slow. Look at him.
He's got to get out of the way.
Speaker 1 And then he's look at his head.
Speaker 10
I mean, he is staring down at that, and he makes the right call. We always rip on the officials.
Give this guy some credit.
Speaker 10
He is right in position to be able to make that call. And we're seeing it.
Now we're seeing it a little faster. Here you go.
Speaker 1 Look at that. Just
Speaker 10
outstanding. But I guess to answer your question, Devot, I would say Ty Simpson.
He's not sexy. He's not going to go to the combine.
He's not going to go, look at this guy. Oh, my God.
Speaker 10 But he seems to be a guy that... has an ability to read, recognize coverage, process, ball out.
Speaker 10 He can move around just enough to be able to be dangerous, to be able to keep plays alive. But we don't have that huge 6'4, 240-pound
Speaker 10 guy that everybody's going to say, wow, I can't wait to watch what this.
Speaker 10 Now, these guys are probably, they're going to go and people are going to be enamored like they were with Anthony Richardson and others, you know, when they see these guys that are big and strong and can spin it.
Speaker 10 But as far as seeing the field, processing, what are we doing? Processing.
Speaker 1
That's a good question. That is a good question.
What are we doing? Okay, there's no reason to do what you just did.
Speaker 1 None. Okay, there's none on that note.
Speaker 1
Now, to echo your point, though. What are you talking about? I love Ty Simpson.
Yeah. Great.
I like his love him. Did you see him dap up former teammates, too? Boys love him.
Oh, my God.
Speaker 10 Did you see how the boys reacted when they saw him? Yes.
Speaker 1
Love him. They love that guy in the locker room.
Mendoza, though, very similar. I think they view him as a nerd who's an absolute dog.
I think that is kind of it.
Speaker 1 So I think they will be head and shoulders.
Speaker 1 I think whenever you start thinking about, you know, off-the-field stuff in the locker room and in film and everything like that, I think they are going to rise to the top.
Speaker 1 But to your point, we had no idea that those guys were going to be guys.
Speaker 1 Another guy that I don't think a lot of people maybe knew if he was going to be a guy, especially after his first season, now he's leading the MVP odds. Go ahead, AJ.
Speaker 11
Yeah, Kirk, obviously Pat's talking about Drake May and what the New England Patriots are able to do. They beat the Bucs yesterday.
They're 8-2.
Speaker 11 I guess, are you surprised at how quickly Drake May has evolved into an elite quarterback? I mean, MVP odds. You see him right here.
Speaker 11 And are you surprised at all at how fast, I guess, Braves has been able to instill that culture and turn him into a very viable team to make him run the Super Bowl.
Speaker 10 Well, obviously, AJ, you know, Vraves, and we all love him and
Speaker 10 think so highly of him as
Speaker 10 it was initially as an assistant and a coordinator, and then he goes to the Titans and has him on the brink of getting into a Super Bowl.
Speaker 10 And then last year, he's in Cleveland, just like, you know, just kind of buying his time and hanging out. And eventually, you knew he'd get back in the mix.
Speaker 10 I don't think, Connor, even you, as much as you're a die-hard, blinded New England Patriots fan, I don't think anybody expected the culture to change this quickly.
Speaker 10 Nobody could have expected this.
Speaker 10 It's easy to say, yeah, oh, yeah, I saw it all along.
Speaker 10 I mean, Drake May, if you saw him in college, he's another college quarterback that's outstanding, but we see a lot of college quarterbacks that are outstanding that just don't see the field in the NFL and don't make these many plays this early in their career.
Speaker 10 So I think Josh McDaniels deserves a ton of credit for the system that he's been able to build, the way they've been able to build this team from the ground up as far as confidence.
Speaker 10
They didn't try to do too much too fast. I had him, again, I mentioned that the game with Dable.
They played the Patriots.
Speaker 10 I had a chance to visit with Josh in late August when they were getting ready to go into the season.
Speaker 10 And he was incredibly confident with what Drake May was doing, the communication, the understanding. You can see the relationship that they built.
Speaker 10 This Drake May has a super, super unassuming team guy first, doesn't want any of the accolades, will deflect all all the attention onto his team so he's got the wiring that it takes but to see this guy execute what is he at 19 and five I think right now in the year 19 touchdowns only five picks so he's he's playing smart but I think it's more of the totality of what the Patriots have become with Mike Vrabel and it's it's not just wow look at the schedule it's been favorable no I mean it's it's a mix of veterans with rookies with a quarterback that's that's making great decisions and here they are sitting at the the top.
Speaker 1 A couple more things just to kind of add to your point about this Patriots team.
Speaker 1 So many different moments throughout that game yesterday as we're watching where Vrabel was coaching in between plays to guys that are on the field. Like there was a time, I think it was 516 left.
Speaker 1 Drake May, they're up five, rolls to the right, throws the ball out of bounds when they're down in a red zone.
Speaker 1 And you knew that Drake May probably immediately was like, ah, there's no reason for me to throw that out of bounds and stop the clock right here. We could keep this thing alive.
Speaker 1
It starts getting like frustrated with himself. And literally, they shoot over to Vraibes.
Vraibes is talking to him like, yo, yo, yo, yo, we're good.
Speaker 1 then there was a report off the sidelines like hey vraib was over telling the defense hey nothing else matters except for right now it's like he's hands-on with every single play and then trayvion henderson obviously we see the moment where he breaks free and he looks over to the sideline like
Speaker 1 should i go down or should i score and they're probably all like yo go ahead and score that thing dude score that thing so like he's afraid
Speaker 1
when you talk about buy-in yeah when you talk about buy-in i think the perfect depiction of it is Stephon Diggs on the hands team. Stephon Diggs on the hands team.
Okay.
Speaker 1 And everybody's talking talking about, yeah, he should do this. It's like, yeah, right, dude.
Speaker 1 Knowing that he's going to get blasted in the face right there, that is the only outcome that Stephon Diggs is going to have right there. First ball.
Speaker 1 And they're like, hey, he needs to do what, this is what number one wide receivers always do. It's like, no, they don't.
Speaker 1 Number one wide receivers are not being sent out there to potentially get shot right in the jaw or right into the chest. Go ahead.
Speaker 10 By the way, look at how they're schooled there. Everybody goes in to make a block.
Speaker 10
Instead of like five guys going up to grab the ball, you got a very, very well-schooled. These guys are trying to make blocks.
We know that eight's going to go ahead and make, he's got the ball.
Speaker 10
We know he's going to catch it. And everybody doing the best they can to try to avoid what ended up happening because they just had a couple too many.
They couldn't block them all.
Speaker 10
And he feels able to hold on to it. I think you bring up a good point.
I think he has a very hungry team, whether it's the blend of rookies and younger players with some bets, but they all are.
Speaker 10 are listening to Vrabel. So Vrabel's over there coaching in between series.
Speaker 10 And instead of them being like, get out of here with that, they're just like, yep, they're dialed in listening to what he's saying. So it helps winning, right?
Speaker 10 I mean, it's easy to become that guy when you're winning. And, you know, right now he's got a team that's all in.
Speaker 1
Yeah, I think all in. Stephon Dick said earlier in the year, I can't believe he got me to buy it.
And it's like, it's a Vrabel effect that he has seemingly in every building that he has.
Speaker 1
I mean, it was happening at the American Century Classic whenever he walked into the tent. He walks in.
Everybody's just like, what the hell is this species? He's doing that. He's a great leader.
Speaker 1 He's an alpha in every sense of the form, but it seems like his empathy for these young guys, like not to beat yourself up too much, is what's showcasing the most. The Patriots are a problem.
Speaker 1
Drake May is the odds-on favorite for the MVP. And the Colts are going to win the Super Bowl.
We'll be back tomorrow live from Paris Island. Goodbye.
All right, that was a pretty good send off.
Speaker 1
Hell yeah. Not bad.
Sorry, Herbert. That was great.
We're still live. We're still live, Herbert.
You know, we're still live. We're still live.
We're still live.
Speaker 2 Just someone that won't get enough love, and I'm actually, hopefully, he doesn't, just so he doesn't get any sort of opportunities outside of being the offensive line coach for the Patriots.
Speaker 2 Doug Marone came in and their left side of the line, Will Campbell and Jared Wilson, both rookies. Jared Wilson, I believe, played center at Georgia last year.
Speaker 1 I think he was our third-round pick.
Speaker 2 Will Campbell, obviously, number four overall.
Speaker 2
That toss left to end the game, the Treveon touchdown. I mean, that's right behind Will Campbell.
And we got a defensive lineman Tonga playing fullback, who played eight snaps at fullback, actually.
Speaker 1 And look at that block. Yeah, fucking three guys.
Speaker 2
The amount of guys on the ground. And there goes Vita Vea.
But the other run that was a 55-yard touchdown, that was Jared Wilson basically one-on-one rookie on Vita Vea.
Speaker 2 So it's one of those things where I don't know what's in the water or what, you know, Doug Marone is feeding the offensive line, but they're playing their fucking ass off.
Speaker 2 And that's why you get chills just thinking about how good these young dudes are.
Speaker 1 Still so, and on that note, still so, I mean, Christian Gonzalez is unbelievable. And he's starting to have his own little island starting to happen there in this entire season.
Speaker 1
But they're up into the right, but they're still so early. But there's still so much for Drake, for Vrabel's culture.
I mean, another offseason drafting your guys free agent.
Speaker 1 I mean, there's just so much for these Patriots fans to be doing.
Speaker 5
Yeah, B.A. always talks about, you know, having the rookies ready.
If they're ready by November, by Thanksgiving, you're in a good spot. Trayvion Henderson, he looks like he's coming along.
Speaker 5 Kyle Williams, he had a big time play. And a great sign of your team going in the right direction.
Speaker 5 I hate this for vets sometimes, but when Vrabel came in and they moved on from Kyle Dugger, who had a huge contract, and they moved on from Peppers, who was a solidified vet, that let you know how these young guys were playing, how they were building.
Speaker 5
You go and get Carlton Davis, who's another number one corner. Christian Gonzalez is unbelievable.
And they came into this game without allowing one rusher that they faced to reach 50 yards.
Speaker 5
Like, that's crazy at the halfway point in the season. So they are in tandem right now on defense.
And obviously, we know the offense is making plays. and they're explosive.
Speaker 1 All right, Herbie, last question for the NFL here from Green Bay Packers owner, Ty Schmidt.
Speaker 4 Yeah, Herbie, how do you see this game going tonight?
Speaker 4 Obviously, you had the Packers your first week of the regular season for Thursday night football, and they looked unbelievable, looked like a different team then.
Speaker 4
And I believe you had the Eagles when they got beat by the Giants. They obviously look a little bit different now as well.
What do you expect out of this one tonight?
Speaker 10 Yeah, you're right. When I had Green Bay, as you all know, I mean, it's such a long grind of a season, and
Speaker 10 guys get hurt, and teams become a little bit different.
Speaker 10 Eagles have changed their season around from where they were. I mean, I think offensively, they were really struggling when we had them.
Speaker 10 They were just starting to kind of find some things, find some answers. I think the Minnesota game obviously changed the complexion maybe of their season.
Speaker 10
And then they followed up with a big win over the Giants. So I think their offense is in a much better place.
I think
Speaker 10
they were arguing with each other. They really couldn't find answers for Saquon in the running game.
They were just trying to find ways to get him in space.
Speaker 10
And I think now you're starting to see a little bit more balance putting Jalen in more favorable positions to be able to throw the football. So that's a tough one, man.
That is a great game.
Speaker 10 It's a Green Bay, right, tonight?
Speaker 1 Yep.
Speaker 10 Great, great matchup, and it'd be fun to watch Micah
Speaker 10
chase Jalen around. I think it'll be a, this has got that fourth quarter, last second kind of feel.
Who's going to get the ball late?
Speaker 10 I don't know what the spread is, but it feels like it's going to be a tight, tight game throughout the entire game. And give Green Bay a nod because they're playing at home at night.
Speaker 1
One and a half is the spread Green Bay is favored by. And Schefter came on earlier and said, it's a tush-bush game.
Green Bay Packers wanted to ban the tush-bush.
Speaker 1
Michael Parsons said it was a stupid play. Philadelphia Eagles, Siriani, they heard that.
They heard that.
Speaker 1
So look for some tush-push task. Oh, we love that.
Yes, sir. Oh, we love that.
Speaker 1 Yeah, 28 degrees in snow at Lambeau on Monday night football in November on the Marines' 250th birthday here, November 10th, 2025. This is perfect.
Speaker 1 This is the football god saying, congratulations, we're halfway through this.
Speaker 1 Tonight, you get a chance to watch the Super Bowl champs take on the traditional historic powerhouses of the NFL in a movie-like setting.
Speaker 1 Something that Steve Sable would draw up to launch NFL films, where the legends would step foot on this same exact land that is holding the snow tonight. That could be this evening for the Packers.
Speaker 1 Yes, it could. Eagles could win by 50?
Speaker 4 No, I don't think so.
Speaker 1 Oh, okay.
Speaker 4 50.
Speaker 1 Okay, you knew what I was saying. You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 10 You got Pac winning on a last-second field goal with me?
Speaker 2 The way Brandon McManus is kicking right now, no, I don't.
Speaker 4 I think it's either Packers win a close one, or yes, they get beat by like 17 or something like that.
Speaker 1
Multiple scores. Yeah.
No way.
Speaker 2 This is the go-Pack game. This is.
Speaker 1 This is where it is.
Speaker 4 They play to the level of their opponents. They played like shit against Carolina last week.
Speaker 4 They'll look great this week, and I don't know who they play probably the Saints next week, and they might get beaten next week.
Speaker 1 All right, Packers minus one and a half. Packers minus one and a half.
Speaker 2 I'd go Packers six and a half. Jalen Hurts in that weather, give me a fucking break.
Speaker 1
Sounds like Herbie's Packers minus one and a half. That's a Philly.
Oh, no, he's got no connection. He's unstable.
Uh-oh. Maybe it's a snow.
Speaker 10 Here I am.
Speaker 1 Yeah, here I am. You got Packers minus one and a half?
Speaker 10
I got Packers, no question. Last second, they're going to win it late.
Last second field goal.
Speaker 1 AJ, Packers, minus one and a half.
Speaker 11 Absolutely.
Speaker 1
Okay, I'd like to let you know currently, AJ, you and I are sitting one pick away from each other for the weekend. You're 5'7, 1.
I'm 6'6 and 1 on the weekend, okay?
Speaker 1
Obviously, I flopped a little bit. You flopped a little bit on a few.
It's not easy at this stage of the game because ass teams aren't ass all the time. It's what we're learning.
Speaker 1
And obviously, Colts win the game in Germany. I'm happy.
Don't cover. Kick the field goal.
Speaker 2 What the hell?
Speaker 1
Can we kick the extra point, please, Ed? Yeah, we start doing everything. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. We need to be a little bit closer.
So, AJ, you're on the Packers.
Speaker 1 I'll give you a chance to tie this thing up. I guess I'll take the Eagles.
Speaker 1
I guess. I guess I'll take the Eagles plus one and a half.
Debut, who you got?
Speaker 5 You know, last two times, these two teams faced off, it came out to the red zone. Packers are two and seven in the red zone, and that's where they will lose this game.
Speaker 5 They are used to Michael Parsons, this offense.
Speaker 1 Oh, Michael.
Speaker 5
And I love Jalen Hurts. I don't care what the weather is.
You look at him taking care of the ball. He's going to do that.
Speaker 5 The trades, Jalen Phillips, Michael Carter came over now, so we may see Coop on the outside a little more. Give me the Eagles with an alternate spread of minus six and a half.
Speaker 1
Okay, he likes it a little bit more. He said, let's put a little bit more meat on that bone for these dogs in Philadelphia.
Sportsbook breakers are giving some stats here.
Speaker 1
Now, we have not double-checked this, but it looks good. Philadelphia is a small underdog tonight as the Eagles travel to face the Packers.
The Eagles have been fantastic when the line is tight.
Speaker 1
Eagles are 8-0 overall, 8-0 against spread since October 2024, with a spread between negative three to plus three. Philly has won won these games by 12.6 points per game.
Uh-oh.
Speaker 1
That means nothing to me. Yeah, yeah.
That means nothing to you.
Speaker 4 Have they played the Packers all eight of those games? Oh, no, they haven't.
Speaker 2 Okay, then who gives a f ⁇ ing?
Speaker 1
Oh, you're Signetti. You know, Indiana's never won here.
Dutch team's never played here.
Speaker 1
Next question. That was a great answer, Visiba.
Great answer. He always has it.
Speaker 1
Hey, what are you concerned with? Nothing. It's time to attack.
What are we talking about? Concerns for Thursday, Wednesday. Now we attack and play football.
Thank you. Any more questions?
Speaker 1
AQ Shipley FaceTiming me during that game. They're frauds.
Sick Nutty. Sick Nutty comes out, runs his mouth before the game was like he was answering questions.
It's a minute before the game starts.
Speaker 1 Like, what do you want from the guy? Talking his shit. Can't even beat this sorry popping.
Speaker 10 Oh, AQ must have been wild up.
Speaker 1
So I told him, I said, Mendoza's about to literally told him. I had a Kirk Herbstree moment.
I go, you think Mendoza's losing this game? Hang up on him. Literally mid-sentence.
Speaker 1 And then as Omar Cooper Jr. is coming down with that, and Jack Dasher, I believe is the ref's name in the background, as he makes that call of a touchdown.
Speaker 1 I, watching the game, don't think it could be at all, but am taking it as well.
Speaker 1
As I am, yes, exactly. Jack with a good call.
I take that opportunity to call AQ back. He goes, that was a pretty good drive out of there, Adam Endo.
Speaker 1
He goes, I'm like, yeah, Indiana is still surprising people, I think. You know, I think Indiana is still surprising people.
And then the number two team in the country. Big Ten has.
I'm me.
Speaker 1
I'm all in now. Big Ten has power at the top.
Big Ten has some real power. I think they're very confident in it as a whole.
But as we look at this college football, what a catch.
Speaker 1 What a catch. Omar Cooper did.
Speaker 10 That right toe didn't tap in, too, did it?
Speaker 1 No, I do not think so.
Speaker 1
He hovered it. A lot of people say that it did.
They say a good in the NFL. I think they're saying because his toe and then his heel hit.
Both of it.
Speaker 10 Watch this right.
Speaker 9 Watch this right. I thought it was good.
Speaker 1
I don't think he's going to be able to get it. I don't even close the touching.
Let's see. I don't know if it was, it was definitely close.
Speaker 1 Oh, boys.
Speaker 1 I thought he hovered it
Speaker 11 because he knew it was going to be out.
Speaker 10 I don't think it ever touched.
Speaker 1 But people were saying it would have been good in the NFL. Is that because left toe and then left heel?
Speaker 1 Two different touches? Same foot, though, right?
Speaker 5 I think we all think two feet because I said good on Sunday, too.
Speaker 2 But that was the Garrett Wilson touchdown from last year in prime time that got called the touchdown.
Speaker 1 Was it his foot or was it him?
Speaker 2 Because I thought it was, no, I thought it was toe.
Speaker 1 Oh, he had shit in that shit.
Speaker 1 Like, I do wonder if the toe and the heel, because I saw everybody saying good on Sunday and I was like, I don't know.
Speaker 1 Because it looks like to your point herbie i am in the camp that i thought it hovered which was incredible that it didn't touch out of bounds but there i guess i'm in the camp that it touched his right when was it when he was touching back
Speaker 1 right before the left one okay so let's go let's run that thing again i thought he saw it you think it touched
Speaker 1 i think the right one took right there where
Speaker 1 where let me run it back
Speaker 1 oh no can we zoom in on this at all no
Speaker 1 We cannot zoom in in this crazy. You need NBC it?
Speaker 2 Yeah, I think he just missed.
Speaker 1 I don't think he he does so i thought it was incredible body control to keep that right foot up
Speaker 1 oh my god
Speaker 1 wait
Speaker 1 did the pin state defender keep his right foot up yeah that right foot where he kicks his shit yeah boom
Speaker 5 oh no so that yeah so i don't yeah maybe it didn't touch you right i'm out if it gets oh that didn't that right foot never touched
Speaker 1 i saw a lot of people saying good on sunday i'm like oh it must be foot foot but i i didn't even know that this is the first time i'm nbcing it like this so hey it's right here too pretty good.
Speaker 5 It's great.
Speaker 4 If that kick gets called a touchdown in the league, though, it might stand. Yeah, it might be tough to overlook.
Speaker 1 I don't know.
Speaker 1 I think it clearly doesn't touch.
Speaker 10 I think the other thing, if the heel touched out of bounds, it's still a touchdown, right? Because of the toe.
Speaker 1 In college or
Speaker 10 in college, if the toe touched
Speaker 10 and then the heel would have been out of bounds, I think it would have given him the touch with the toe.
Speaker 1 Really?
Speaker 1
That's exactly what I'm saying. All right, let's talk a little bit more about college ball.
Indiana, we feel like gonna be in, even if they don't win the Big Ten.
Speaker 1 Yeah, feel like they have done enough that people will say this is one of the 12 best teams in the country. Group of five
Speaker 10 matter what happens.
Speaker 1
I think so, too. Group of five that has to get in.
And then Tone has a question for you about college ball, the sport we all love.
Speaker 3 Yeah, I do, Herbie.
Speaker 3 Obviously, preseason in the ACC, it was going to be Clemson, and after week one, and then for a few weeks, it was going to be Miami, and then they suffered a loss, and it was going to be Georgia Tech, and then they lost, and it was going to be Virginia, and then they lost, and then Louisville, and then they lost.
Speaker 3 So now we we are here.
Speaker 3 Could be them, but does anyone want to win the ACC first and foremost? And do we even have to let an ACC team in? Are we sure those are the rules?
Speaker 10 I guess those are the rules.
Speaker 6 You do have to let an ACC team in.
Speaker 1 Yeah. Listen, I hope it's the last two weeks for the ACC.
Speaker 10
It was last two weeks for the ACC. Every team that's...
that's ranked and up there is lost.
Speaker 1 They suck. So, you know,
Speaker 10
they're back to Pitt. Pitt becomes the team everybody's going to want to talk about.
I mean, they have everything in front of them. If you look at the schedule, I mean,
Speaker 10
if they want to get in, it's right in front of them. Notre Dame, Georgia Tech on the road, and Miami.
I mean, could it set up any better for Pitt?
Speaker 10 You know, if you want to be the team that's going to say, hey, if nobody else wants to go, we'll go to Charlotte. We'll make a run.
Speaker 10
I mean, right now, Georgia Tech should be the odds on favorite, but I think Pitt, they look different with this quarterback playing for them. We'll see.
We'll see if they can get by.
Speaker 10 Even if they lose to Notre Dame, they're still theoretically alive because they can get within their own conference and get to that conference championship game.
Speaker 1 Now, on the flip side, Notre Dame.
Speaker 5 Hey, Duke is the second.
Speaker 1
Notre Dame can't lose. Yes.
Yeah, because the control is. Who did I play last week?
Speaker 1 North Carolina? No, they didn't.
Speaker 1
It was UConn. They lost.
Oh, Yukon, didn't they? Oh, I thought you said, oh, last week? Yeah,
Speaker 1
it's Saturday. UConn got a huge one.
Somebody had him as their super dog.
Speaker 3 It was Herbie because of Gumps. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Wow.
Speaker 5 Nick gave him some love, too.
Speaker 1
Gumped him some love. Good for the UConn.
And you took a bigger lead in Super Dog. That's what I just heard.
Speaker 10 I'm going to give Gumpy, get a shot of Gumpy there in the control room. Gump, thanks, buddy.
Speaker 10 You steered me into that one.
Speaker 10 I'm going to talk to you again on this Friday in the production week, so get ready.
Speaker 1
Thank you, Gump. Come up with another one.
Thank you. I had Iowa.
I was going to go Iowa, and then I thought about
Speaker 10 Auburn and Vandy. And then Gump said, no, no, no, no, no, no, you you got to go UConn.
Speaker 1 That's awesome. Joe says, How about little faith in Yukon?
Speaker 5 Joe, how do you say his last name, Tom? Because it's one of those Italian last names.
Speaker 1
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't want to be.
I got to follow. I don't want to be wrong here.
There's going to be a lot of
Speaker 1 Italian last names at this game.
Speaker 5
Well, he's both 25 touchdowns, no picks. Scholar Bell, he's top one or two in all the wide receiver categories.
They're doing some things up there in stores.
Speaker 1 I'll tell you, Sanga Polatelli with that winner over Louisville and louisville going for let's go get this nope not going for a field goal touchdown let's go for it and over
Speaker 1 that hit the over right there over was 49 and a half thank you songapolitelli uh thank you overtime games to delivering for overs but this guy i mean i understand cow's got a lot of money we love cow we got we love cow we love cow Song Polotelli's market is going to be out fucking rageous this offseason, Kirk.
Speaker 1
And I think Pittsburgh is going to be on Saturday as well. A lot of Irish people in Pittsburgh, Kirk.
A lot of Irish.
Speaker 10 Well, a lot of Italian, a lot of Irish.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 10 A lot of Irish.
Speaker 10 You grew up in an Italian neighborhood, didn't you?
Speaker 1
Yeah, all Italian. A few Polaks.
All Italians. All Italians in my neighborhood.
And now, on that note, the Italians will be delivering, I think, this weekend. Grazzi to all the Paisanos that.
Speaker 10 What's the best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh?
Speaker 1 Bo Babbo. So there's a place called...
Speaker 1
Just watch your mouth. Watch your mouth.
Just from what I've experienced. Serafino's is a place that's obviously being talked about in a big way.
Bill Carr's favorite spot is Serafino's. Hell yeah.
Speaker 1 Narduzzi's favorite spot is Serafino's.
Speaker 3 My favorite spot is Giraffe.
Speaker 1 I'm going to go there.
Speaker 3 Girasoli's. It's down in Shady Sai.
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 1
What you're going to know, and you know this, just go ahead and take a walk around and it'll be like, oh, here's an Italian joint there. What do you guys do? Pizza sandwiches, pasta? Got it.
Okay.
Speaker 1
And then you're going to walk a little bit further? Oh, what's this? Dappa dappaini. Okay, what happens in here? We got pizza sandwiches and pasta.
Okay, sick. That is so nice.
Speaker 1
And then you're going to turn a corner. Boom.
Guess who's going to be there? Sapa dappa dope la paddini. Bada babe.
Speaker 1 And it'll be the best that you ever. It's up.
Speaker 2 And then you'll see the olive garden and walk right in.
Speaker 1
Don't. All you can eat breadsticks.
There's no fazils.
Speaker 1 There's no.
Speaker 1 There's no olive guns. Yeah.
Speaker 2 Sorry.
Speaker 1 Not as good as Marion's.
Speaker 1 Not as good as Marion's donuts. No, no.
Speaker 2
Don't be doing it. We know that.
Yeah.
Speaker 11 Don't be doing it. Marion's Bills Donuts.
Speaker 10 Marion's the Bills right across the street from from each other
Speaker 1 guys who yeah
Speaker 1 who
Speaker 11 tell them kirkill oh
Speaker 1 kirk's big on that right centerville ohio that's the home of rob daredeck i do believe right or circleville kettering yeah he's kettering robin big yeah
Speaker 1 wow kettering yeah kettering ohio right next to centerville the home of a bar that i had frequented because my uh holder in college uh is from centerville ohio he's a proud elk alumni as we are here with a couple proud centerville Elks here.
Speaker 1
I didn't know that. You're a holder? Oh, yeah, Jeremy Cash.
Legend. Legend.
He's still in Centerville right now. I think he's still doing it.
And
Speaker 1 I think he will be doing it till the day he dies.
Speaker 2 The bar near the school with like the low roof, that bar?
Speaker 1
Yes. Yeah.
Yeah, it was a good bar. Awesome bar.
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Good bar. Good bar.
A lot of scratch. I'll pull tabs.
You know, darts.
Speaker 1
Karaoke. Maybe smoking sinks.
Sure. Great breakfast.
Everything you get asked for. A lot of booze.
It was right there. Right there next to Circleville or Kettering.
Right there next to Kettering.
Speaker 10 Kettering.
Speaker 1 Circleville's in the American Time, right?
Speaker 10 I think I know the place you're talking about.
Speaker 1
No, Centerville. Yeah.
Rob Daredeck, the best.
Speaker 1
He was making. Rest in peace.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
He made a lot of money, right?
Speaker 2 46 seasons in 11 years. He was making 30 a year for ridiculousness.
Speaker 1
That's just that show, let alone all his other shoe, everything else. Rob Daredeck, right here.
Yeah, you're talking about. Reese Badge.
Speaker 10 Head of the ball game, huh?
Speaker 1
One of the goats in this entire thing. And rest in peace to Big Black.
Hell yeah. Obviously, legend.
Had a beer of 40 with him.
Speaker 4 Former Marine. Really?
Speaker 1
He had an incredible vibe. Yeah, he was.
Just joking.
Speaker 1
I don't think Big Black. Yeah, just joking.
Who was the Miller Light guy? Wendell. Wendell, rest in peace to Wendell.
Had a few Miller lights with him as well. Rest in high life.
Speaker 1 Yeah. I believe he was there.
Speaker 1
Yeah, he was here in Indianapolis a few different times. Had a great time.
Big Black, great time. He was great vibes.
What a great show.
Speaker 10 Turns out, if that heel would have gone out of bounds,
Speaker 10 it would have been incomplete.
Speaker 1 yeah it's good update big update i wanted you to have that now it makes you appreciate it that much
Speaker 1 terry macaulay watch watch the toe
Speaker 1 i can't believe i thought that right
Speaker 1 yeah yeah but you didn't see you saw it on your phone you saw it on your phone yeah exactly so the heel being in
Speaker 1 is huge brother yeah
Speaker 1 if if what he lifts it up and falls out after the toe touch is still good as well
Speaker 1 yeah if the heel touches out of bounds but if right here he he lifts off of his toe onto the ground and heel never touches heels in bounds, yeah, but I'm saying if his foot comes down, he's still touching.
Speaker 1
That's crazy. Omar Cooper Jr., Indianapolis, Indiana boy on there for the Hoosiers.
Fernando Mendoza potentially gonna be on the show today.
Speaker 1
He was not able to. Okay.
That was 35 minutes. Yeah, he's got class, right? All right, Herbie.
We're gonna get out of here, I think, as a show as a whole, brother.
Speaker 10 All right, boys.
Speaker 10 Don't get him tonight, Pack. Good luck.
Speaker 1 Yeah, good luck to the the Eagles as well for those of us that have
Speaker 1
the Philadelphia Eagles at plus one. But also, good luck to the NFL.
Let's have a great prime time.
Speaker 1 Let's have a great time. Let's have a great one.
Speaker 10 Need it. Look at snow, big ratings, close game.
Speaker 1 Well,
Speaker 10 love to watch the snowy.
Speaker 1 Wow, the ratings are going to be problematic, you know, because there is platform.
Speaker 1 You know.
Speaker 10 Is that still going on?
Speaker 1
That's still going on. Send another tweet, Herbie.
All right. Did your friend tell a friend something? Don't, actually.
Don't, don't, don't. Don't do it.
Don't you dare.
Speaker 10 You coached me up on that.
Speaker 1 Now I know.
Speaker 11 I went to the site.
Speaker 1 Herbie, why don't you break us down? Then we're going to take a break and we'll come back and do all the overreactions and be on our way.
Speaker 1 But this is our last time with you, Herbie, on this glorious overreaction Monday. Anything to say to the team here, Herbie?
Speaker 10
Love you, boys. You guys are the best.
We love Mondays, so we can overreact with you guys and all just get it off of our chest. And it's start anew tomorrow.
Speaker 1 Appreciate you. Your show with Joey G
Speaker 1 sweet.
Speaker 10 Non-stop. We'll appreciate you checking in this morning.
Speaker 1
Absolutely. Great show.
Great show. It's on YouTube.
Speaker 1 It's my old teammate.
Speaker 5 Isn't it a while that they were teammates in college and me and Joey Galloway were teammates in the pros?
Speaker 1
That's how long he was. Yeah.
He's fast. That's nuts.
He was still fast. He could still.
418.
Speaker 1 What's that?
Speaker 1 418. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Can't make a fucking putt. I see on his Instagram.
Speaker 1
Can't make a put, but I love that man. I do enjoy the hell out of him.
All right. We'll be back on the other side with overreactions from around the NFL.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
Speaker 1
It might change your life. We're in this thing together.
Team on me, team on three. One, two, three.

Well, that's AJ Hawk. The Toxic Tables here at Boston Conner and at Ty Schmidt.
One half of the hammer, Don Cowboys, AP Tone is here. Tom, what are the numbers on tonight's game?
Speaker 1
We already made our picks because Kirk Herbstreet was so damn confident about how this is going to go. And I'll say, I'll tell you, he's seeing the game.
He is.
Speaker 1 He is seeing the field right now now certainly in college it will carry over to monday night football feels like he thinks this is a last second field goal for green bay to get the win he picked green bay minus one and a half aj hawk you picked green bay minus one and a half as well uh obviously feel obligated to as the all-time leading tackler but why do you actually believe that as well I mean, I think it's going to be one of those magical nights in Lambeau.
Speaker 11
I truly do. I saw there's flurries possibly going to happen.
It's just, yeah, good luck beating this team.
Speaker 11 Josh Jacobs on the ground, even though I have a ton of respect for Philly's D-line and what they can do. But, man, I just think Jordan Love puts it together.
Speaker 11 This is one of those games you look back on, you know, two months from now and you say, hey, we took a big step that night.
Speaker 1 Yeah, the Eagles could be saying the same thing, D-Buck coach, David.
Speaker 5
Yeah, I think they will. I think the Eagles fly tonight.
I just looked up the odds. It's around plus 250 for my alternate line, which is minus 6.5.
Speaker 5 I had no idea that graphic popped up with the, you know, them being 8-0 against the Spirit straight up and winning those games by an average of 12.6 points, I believe.
Speaker 5 Saquon finding his footing, I think, it's a bit of a runaway for the Eagles tonight.
Speaker 1 Tom, what's the number? Who's on what?
Speaker 3 So if you want, you get the pack at minus a half. You can get the Eagles at plus, that one and a half if you guys want.
Speaker 3 If you don't want to go with D-buts, minus six and a half, alternate spread there. 80% of the bets are on Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 1
Fuck. Love that.
Love that. Love the pack tonight.
Love them.
Speaker 2 One team's coming off a terrible loss.
Speaker 1 This weekend.
Speaker 2 Who just played in a bad weather game?
Speaker 3 This weekend, teams that are getting 60% or more of the bets are four and seven.
Speaker 1 Oh, no.
Speaker 1 Oh, that was.
Speaker 1
What was that four? Yeah, I'm good. I'm good.
Okay. Yeah, I feel okay.
I feel okay because I didn't like that 80% number there. It was really high.
Speaker 1
I said, football guns, why don't you bless me with a U-ball shot right here? See if I'm going in the right direction. That was splashy splash right there.
That was good news.
Speaker 1 Well, we're not going to be able to play it.
Speaker 1 Anyways, let's get some more reaction, shall we? This Monday, of football season could be a special one. Could be a breaking point for some fans, and it could be a making point for some fans.
Speaker 1 That's why we kind of want to get the temperature, the lay of the land around the league with different fandoms. So I put out a tweet that said, Hey, why don't you tell me how you feel?
Speaker 1 What do you think of your team? Are you great or are you ass? All you got to use is the hashtag, I don't want to overreact.
Speaker 1 Ty will scan through them and find his favorites. It ended up being a top three trending topic, I do believe.
Speaker 1 We appreciate everybody loving ball as much as we do and also utilizing this tweet as a therapeutic session to kind of get it all out of you. Let's start first with Evan Fox.
Speaker 1
Okay, this guy, handsome guy, good beard, okay? One point we saw him, he didn't have a beard, much different life now with a beard. Super handsome, very mature.
Two weddings.
Speaker 1 This guy got married twice.
Speaker 1
It was truly a wonderful thing. Same person.
Wonderful bride. Yes, same person too.
Speaker 1 Same person is an awesome person, by the way.
Speaker 1 This guy has lived with the Lions his whole life, though. You know, he looks forward to Thanksgiving all the time.
Speaker 1 Hashtag I don't want to overreact but not only is mcdc the best coach in the nfl but he's also the best play caller in the nfl do not with four-eyed dan campbell hashtag one pride amen brother i i mean it was a masterclass seemingly by dan campbell yeah if we're overreacting right now just based off lions twitter everyone was done with john morton there and listen love johnny mo but the offense was clunky it didn't look right didn't look like a ben johnson's offense and then mcdc takes the reins over and it looks amazing.
Speaker 7
Everyone's eating. Everyone's getting balls.
And also, I got to add this in there. After a loss, Dan Campbell hasn't lost the next game in 1,100 days.
And that's just incredible coaching.
Speaker 7 So I'm happy he's our guy.
Speaker 1 Yeah, certainly happy he's your guy for the sake of your life and your football fandom.
Speaker 1 You know, him taking over play calling and them being great.
Speaker 1 Do you think this comes from everybody complaining about not getting a ball on Monday and Dan Campbell saying, enough of it, I'll just call the plays?
Speaker 1 And did we know this about Dane Campbell as we were talking about Ben Johnson's genius? Do we think Dane Campbell also maybe had a hand in this in the past?
Speaker 1 Or is it just like, hey, I'll jump in whenever you need me, AJ?
Speaker 11 I bet before it was probably very collaborative throughout the week and everything. But when it comes to the game, like only one person can be calling the plays in, can have the radio and radioed into
Speaker 11
the quarterback's helmet. But yeah, you're taking bits of advice and everything throughout the game.
But think about it. You're the guy making the call.
You're on the clock.
Speaker 11 As soon as that play ends, boom, we're on to the next one. You're planning for
Speaker 11
future drives, which has been awesome so far watching all this. What a shot! Also, sorry for the gentleman that got suspended.
What a shot he had on Amon.
Speaker 11
I'm sorry. I just thought of it again.
Geez, that was just a violent shot. Yeah.
So, credit to all involved, I guess, on this one.
Speaker 11 I mean, I was like, he felt he saw that right at the last second, didn't he?
Speaker 1 So, Amon? Yeah, I just, he had his hands.
Speaker 1
I genuinely don't know how we got to this point. I'm sure both parties there certainly understand now that they are not good friends.
But whenever
Speaker 1 they were a good offense, they were winning games. So MCDC to take over the play calls.
Speaker 4 I wonder what happened.
Speaker 3 Johnny Moe has got to be so pissed, too. MCDC is like, oh, yeah, I'll take a take over the calls against the Commanders.
Speaker 3 Johnny Moe's like, we can call literally anything and score 50 against the commanders.
Speaker 1 Oh, but that's the thing is they weren't utilizing all their weapons. So I think if you listen to what was said by some of the players afterwards, like, we got a lot of good guys.
Speaker 1 When we spread around, we can all kind of eat eat or whatever i think there was a lot of complaints happening to dan campbell about not getting the ball i think there was people pissed off and dan campbell's like you're right man you're right man i'm gonna do what can i do i'm gonna do it and then he just gives the ball to everybody i mean how many people had literally play changing games felt like all of the stars had big-time plays j-mo had six catches st.
Speaker 7 brown had five catches laporta had five catches khalif raymond had four catches uh jameer gibbs had 173 total yards so yeah and my favorite part about it all and this is just being a good head coach, is when even though they were winning games, they're five and three, it just didn't look right.
Speaker 7 And he knew something had to change, so he changed it and he put it on himself.
Speaker 1 What if he has six turnovers next week, man? Uh-oh.
Speaker 1
Oh, man. Oh, man.
And then we got a whole other conversation. Oh, man.
Johnny Morton was calling plays, man. Yeah.
It wasn't me, man. Yeah, just like Vilma just.
Oh, man. Yeah.
Speaker 1 For some reason, he just wouldn't say that Dan Campbell was calling plays. And I don't know if he just thought that he couldn't, you know, but he was like alluding to it.
Speaker 1 He was like, sure, looks like he's potentially, and they were zoomed in on his face and he was talking and he had glasses.
Speaker 1 And I think they even showed Jared Goff go like this to him and then him go, hey, Jared, you know, while he was doing it. And they just refused to say it, you know, like on the on the broadcast.
Speaker 1 From my understanding, did they ever get to the point of saying, hey, it's very obvious that Dan Campbell's calling the plays right now? It just felt like they were a little gunshot.
Speaker 7 Yeah, never outright said it, but that tweet I just showed you guys, that came out right when the game started.
Speaker 7 So clearly Garifollo knew this change happened and was just getting out in front of everyone. So that's why it was so weird that Jonathan Villma wouldn't just address
Speaker 1
it. Yeah, hey, Campbell's calling the plays here.
Vilma could see him with his glasses on and the thing.
Speaker 7
And Johnny Moe not having a play sheet. Like they kept showing that on TV.
It was very obvious.
Speaker 1
It was very obvious. I'm telling you, it was in between plays.
They were showing, this is the offense coordinator not doing anything. He's literally not sitting.
Speaker 1
He's just sitting up there, just sitting up there having a good time. Got a good little goatee.
I think. I don't think I knew exactly what he looked like.
And they go back to Dan Campbell, glasses on.
Speaker 1 While the play clock's happening, he's like, he certainly looks like he could potentially be. It's like,
Speaker 1 brother,
Speaker 5
Dan Campbell like finessed him in like the production meetings. He's like, no, Johnny Moore would be calling it.
You'll see me with glasses. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 11
They wouldn't confirm to Vilma, maybe. Maybe they asked him, hey, are you going to be calling plays, coach? And he's like, no, you know, it's all a team effort.
It's all stupid.
Speaker 1
I respect Jonathan Vilma. I'm not going to say I don't.
But as I was listening to him talk, I'm like,
Speaker 1 are we all?
Speaker 1 what am i missing i i had muted at first and i see dan campbell with his glasses on his little fucking thing i'm like that looks sweet let's go over there and then i hear vilma saying this guy may be not calling place it's like he's fucking clearly have we ever seen him with glasses on have we this four-eyed
Speaker 1
i don't think we've ever seen four-eyed guys doing but i appreciate jonathan vilma Okay, I do appreciate Jonathan Vilma doing his thing. Kenny Albert doing their thing.
And the president call play.
Speaker 1 Love what they're doing. But just refusing to acknowledge what was clearly happening, which will go on to be one of the biggest stories of the entire game, basically.
Speaker 1 It's like, hey, this Detroit Lions team completely changed who's calling plays here. The head coach is now in charge, which then goes to a whole,
Speaker 1 do the coordinators matter if MCDC can just go ahead and do everything? And he has said, he has said, this place should be able to operate without me in here. Is it what I want to build?
Speaker 1
What a good spot for the Detroit Lions. Let's move on.
Villman, Kenny Albert, great, great work out there.
Speaker 1 I'm just saying, every time I heard the conversation about Izzy calling plays, it's like, this guy's been in the NFL a long time. Like, what are we?
Speaker 1 Maybe he was being told you can't.
Speaker 4 Well, I was just waiting for Kenny Albert to be like, yes, he is.
Speaker 1 You know, usually that would be his role, but he didn't. What did Kenny say to the president?
Speaker 4 The only thing I listen for when I hear Kenny Albert talk, if he's not saying yes, just over and over again, it's kind of in one ear, out the other.
Speaker 1
There was a lot of those for the Detroit Lions. Yeah, exactly.
A lot of big-time throws.
Speaker 1
And yes, touch them. A lot of them.
And then Commander's Turner over Detroit Lions got the ball again. And, oh, no, but yes.
Speaker 4 That's kind of his bag.
Speaker 1
And that's why I love him. So good.
Is the president going to be joining you in the booth tonight, Kenny? Yes.
Speaker 1 Do you have a plan for the president, Kenny? Yes.
Speaker 1 Are you going to have him call a play, Kenny? Yes.
Speaker 1
Whenever the commanders score, is the president immediately going to acknowledge the ratings boost that that has to be because this game has been boring and a blowout? Yes. Okay.
All right.
Speaker 1
Let's go to the next overreaction. It's from Boston Connor.
Legend living in his best life right now. Hashtag, I don't want to overreact.
But the Patriots are so much better than your favorite team.
Speaker 1
And this year's draft class might go down as the best draft class in the history of ball. Take a long look and get used to it.
Again, tell me about the draft class, Con man.
Speaker 2 Yeah, every single one of those players on there played their asses off. Trevion,
Speaker 2
of course, everyone knows, I believe he reached 22 miles an hour. We were just talking about that at the break.
Kyle Williams, also 72-yard touchdown. Filthy.
Speaker 2
He's, you know, kind of sitting a little bit in the back seat right now just because Kayshawn Booty's doing so well. Jared Wilson starting left guard.
Will Campbell, of course, starting left tackle.
Speaker 2
And then Craig Woodson. I texted D-Butt during the game.
He's the reason they were so comfortable letting Kyle Dugger out the door.
Speaker 2 He actually had a massive pass breakup on third and three, which led to a fourth and three, which led to a turnover on downs. He is very, very good.
Speaker 2 And then the photo on the right, McDaniels, you know,
Speaker 2 the coaching staff is not going anywhere. Everyone they have,
Speaker 2 not everyone, essentially everyone they have has either been a head coach or has been in a kind of higher position.
Speaker 2 And everyone just feels comfortable being under the Mike Vrabel Supreme Commander head coach tree. And I don't think any of them want to leave.
Speaker 2
McDaniels has already said, I just want to coach Drake May for the rest of my career. And that's the most important thing.
Head coaching matters.
Speaker 2 I mean, we just heard everything we just talked about about MCDC and Foxy. It's actually the only reason I'm worried about my Packers pick because I think LaFleur sucks.
Speaker 1 But the Patriots are unbelievable.
Speaker 2 There is a chance here that
Speaker 2 this draft class, one, just kind of picks up the Drake May basically flag and just continues to run with it, man.
Speaker 2 The Pats are going to be good for the next 10 years with Drake May and Vrabel, and it might go much, much further after that.
Speaker 1 Congrats to you guys. We were really bummed out for you for this couple years.
Speaker 2 And I felt that, and I appreciated that, and now you guys can just be happy for that.
Speaker 1 Okay, we are happy for you again. It's not just the Patriots.
Speaker 1 Red Sox, well, it looks like they're going to be good.
Speaker 2 Yeah, they're on the up and up, and don't look now, but Marco Stern has those Boston Bruins playing pretty fucking well, too.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah, and hold on.
Speaker 2 Luca Garza had 16 and 8 last night, and we beat the Orlando Magic as underdogs, Joe Missoula.
Speaker 2 If he's not the head coach of the Celtics, he's going to coach his son's team because he doesn't want to coach for anyone else.
Speaker 2 And I fear that might lead to a very terrible life for Coach Missoula, but he's going to be the head coach in Boston for a little.
Speaker 1 Okay, so you got a young head coach there, you got a new head coach for the Patriots, and you got a newer head coach for the Bruins. Or the Red Sox go, I know you got Tony Toney, right?
Speaker 2 Yeah, we got Tony Toney.
Speaker 2 Also, word on the street is Derek Schubel wants to be a Boston Red Sox, baby. Really? So don't look now.
Speaker 2 The kind of four major teams that you guys and myself have been so used to being just dominant in title town usa
Speaker 1 we had a little bit of a drought won the nba championship two years ago but we had a little bit of a drought yeah i had a parade still that they're all the way back all four of them it's dangerous times for everybody else i feel real bad if you're not a new england sports fan it might get real ugly across the board it has been in the past yeah yeah masses mass holes being given a lot of reason to be massoles.
Speaker 1 It's certainly a time that we're staring down here. And we all need to understand that.
Speaker 1
We try to give a little bit of a warning at the end of COVID as people are starting to roll out in public. Okay, try to remember this.
Try to give a little bit of a warning.
Speaker 1 Like, hey, when you're at your house all by yourself and you're just popping off on the internet, like there was no actual repercussions other than people saying, you're a jerk. Okay.
Speaker 1 Real life, people will punch you in the fucking face. Okay, you need to remember that.
Speaker 1 As we get out of our house and we go into public in society, let's remember that there are people that are about it, about it out there and not about about it with your bullshit.
Speaker 1
And they will punch you in the face. First weekend of sports, it was a knockout.
Every baseball day. Every single day, it was boom, the bang of the bound.
Speaker 1 Felt like that was an observational thing from us that we did pretty good societal studies in the entire thing. Another one, mass holes are about to be all the way back and very loud.
Speaker 1 Remember what it was like 10 years ago, 15 years ago? It's about to be like that again. We should prepare accordingly.
Speaker 2 Yeah, and I just really worry
Speaker 2 that within these next couple years,
Speaker 2 Paul Skeens ships up to Boston. And then we have a real problem on our hands when it comes to those four.
Speaker 2 Well, he's an LSU guy, Will Campbell, too. I believe
Speaker 2
they're kind of friends, actually. And when you hear Drake May speak, it just feels like him and Skeens are kind of like soulmates.
You know, like
Speaker 2
they both are just about their sport. That's it.
You know, Drake May, I'm sure he is more than a football player, but he's a football player through and through.
Speaker 2 There's nothing about him that's not ball. And also, his comments under his wife's TikTok, because his wife is just kind of, I mean, she's got a May in the shade.
Speaker 2
You know, she's married to Drake fucking May. So she's just kind of cooking.
And it's awesome, actually. And it looks great.
All the comments on her TikTok are hilarious. It's just, hey,
Speaker 2 don't let Drake eat too much tonight
Speaker 2 unless he wants to, then let him eat whatever he wants.
Speaker 1 She's first lady all of a sudden.
Speaker 2 Yeah, Lady May, if you will. But yes,
Speaker 2 it is wonderful to be a new person.
Speaker 1 Lady May is certainly a fantastic name. Congratulations to the Mays and the Mayflower that obviously
Speaker 1 descended upon Massachusetts again.
Speaker 1 Other teams searching far and wide for this.
Speaker 1 Other cities begging for this. Oh, dear.
Speaker 1 New England says, let us take it again.
Speaker 1 How could they let Rabel go back there? I'll Titan.
Speaker 1 Rabel said something about the Titans. He did.
Speaker 1 Just don't put our names in the same sentence.
Speaker 1
Good luck, Nashville. You guys are going to do great.
Yeah, he'll figure it out.
Speaker 1 They got to be just every Titans fan just like,
Speaker 1 what have we done?
Speaker 11 They're chanting his name as he comes in and beats him with his new squad.
Speaker 1 Yeah, things happen.
Speaker 2
It's tough. What is kind of sweet that we should talk about is how great the NFC is at the top.
The AFC isn't that great across the board aside from New England and Indianapolis. Like it really is.
Speaker 2 If you're looking at the top, especially right now, like, how great do we feel about the Broncos?
Speaker 1 Steelers,
Speaker 2
Chargers, Bills, Jags. Like, the Chiefs and the Chiefs, they're in the middle of a dynasty.
I fully expect them to be at least the five-seed, if not come back and win that division.
Speaker 1 He is, by the way. I didn't, he's much more.
Speaker 4 Pretty put together.
Speaker 1 Yeah, he's much more stocky, like, kind of jacked than you think, you know, because everybody sees photos and they think he has. He was hit him on the back a couple of times.
Speaker 1
It's like, oh, this guy, he's got some. Got it.
Yeah, because he's been hitting a lot of people. First thing he shows up, I go, you guys stop fucking taking these hits.
I'm sick of it.
Speaker 1
And he goes, what? I'm giving the hits. I'm not taking hits.
I go, exactly. This is the problem I'm talking about.
You need to stop thinking like that.
Speaker 1 So I made sure I added it on air just so Chiefs fans and everybody know, I am.
Speaker 1
Thank you. I am on your side.
He needs to stop trying to run people. He's already a GOAT, already has a Hall of Fame resume.
And now he's like, you know what?
Speaker 1
Yeah, I'm actually the toughest guy on this field too. I'm going to start doing it.
It's like, we know you are. You've proved it.
Way to go. We need you not doing that.
He's special, dude.
Speaker 1
You should have seen him. When him and Mrs.
Mahomes walked onto the fucking field, it was just like the whole place goes crazy. Wasn't on the jumbotron at first as he was walking out.
Speaker 1
So student section area, this corner basically goes crazy. Then they put him up on the thing, and it was just like you watched the entire fucking tidal wave.
Yeah, just absolutely go crazy.
Speaker 1 It was like, holy shit. Then they're wearing his uniforms out there.
Speaker 5 Sick.
Speaker 1 Yeah, he's done good.
Speaker 2 Yeah. I'd say
Speaker 1
he's done good. New college ball, too.
I don't know how his picks were, but he, like, he knew it very, very well.
Speaker 11 Did his picks go all right? Yeah, I don't know how his picks ended up, but yeah, he was good on there.
Speaker 1 I don't remember.
Speaker 2 Yeah, I'm not sure. He did say in there, though, the favorite guy for him to watch right now is Dante Moore.
Speaker 2 And we, as far as the draft goes next year, we really didn't talk about him with Mendoza and Ty Simpson. Dante Moore might be one of those.
Speaker 1
I saw people saying that Ryle was going to be upset. He said that.
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1
A lot of people saying that. I saw those tweets.
He was hurt. He was talking about active.
He was the Incredibles meme. Yeah.
Of the
Speaker 1 Dante threw some really good balls in the rain. Yeah.
Speaker 3 What's that? Dante threw some really good balls in the rain. And all of his wide receivers were out.
Speaker 2 He only threw the ball like five times, right?
Speaker 1 You guys could have won that game.
Speaker 4 Should have won that game. Yeah.
Speaker 1 But.
Speaker 4 Yeah, that's life.
Speaker 1 Yep. We knew they were.
Speaker 1
We all knew they were. No, I don't think so.
As soon as Kirk Kirbstreet opened his mouth
Speaker 11 on Thursday.
Speaker 1 Yeah, but that was it.
Speaker 11 That move right there.
Speaker 1 That would indicate, like, I was more worried about, oh, they're going to get routed.
Speaker 4
Like, they're going to come in. And it really, you know, like, Iowa had their opportunities.
So they outplayed them, actually.
Speaker 1
Yeah, but the football gods just weren't going to let that happen. That fumble.
Yeah. The fumble.
The fumble. Oh, 6'7? Is that what you just did right there? Yeah.
It's really alive and well.
Speaker 1 I noticed that whenever Saban went like this while he was giving an answer in the entire student section, everybody just immediately went to it. I was like, holy shit, this thing's got real motion.
Speaker 1 It's got legs.
Speaker 1
Yes, it does. Yes, it certainly does.
And I'll tell you what, I'm starting to find a lot of different ways to use it. You know, if it's going to be a part of society, we should start maybe using it.
Speaker 1 Then you got the people going, when's this over? I'm like,
Speaker 1
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I just watched fucking 10,000 people do it all in unison. None of them talked about it.
So I think we're currently what you like to call in its prime.
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah. I believe we are currently in its prime and it's going to have some more time.
I believe. That was
Speaker 1
that lovely place was crazy. All right, let's go to another overreaction, shall we? Phoenix Maximus, a fan of the program, I believe, a lot of action.
We appreciate the hell out of them.
Speaker 1 Don't know who it is. Hashtag, I don't want to overreact.
Speaker 1 Tomlin and his Steelers live off of historical greatness more than a Greek tourism department.
Speaker 1
The best ownership in Pittsburgh is Fenway at this point. And damn, it hurts to say that.
Fire everyone except Boz. I don't know if the Fenway group is still in with the Penguins.
Speaker 1 If they are, I believe
Speaker 1
they are trying to get out, and we are hoping that they are on their way out. But on that note, the Greek tourism board-that's throwback.
Yeah, I thought that was true.
Speaker 1 That's back when the Greek gods were really doing their thing, trying to get us over there. Do you think that's true on how people view the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Speaker 3 Funny fact, I believe I either muted or blocked that guy last night. Absolutely.
Speaker 1 So that's good. Phoenix Manchester? Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 3 He's a bit chirpy.
Speaker 3 But no, what he said there is not incorrect.
Speaker 3 Tomlin coaches, like it's 1988, you know, run the ball, protect the ball, try to to force turnovers. So
Speaker 3 it's old.
Speaker 3 It's worn out.
Speaker 1 We're over it. Whoa.
Speaker 11 You're over this whole season, Tone?
Speaker 3 No, no. I'm at a point to season where they can't hurt me anymore.
Speaker 11 I don't know if that's the case.
Speaker 3
No, literally, last night for the first time in my history of a fan. At half, I said, I know how the second half's going to go.
And I turned it off. Really? Never, ever done that in my entire life.
Speaker 1 That's dad, husband, full-time job life right there on a Sunday night saying,
Speaker 1 I'm not letting him do it to me again.
Speaker 3
Yep, wife's out of town, so I knew I, you know, if I had to deal with stuff, it was going to be me. So I said, you know what, I'm not letting the Steelers ruin my night.
And I did.
Speaker 3 Defense wasn't bad, though. Aaron played the worst game you could possibly play as a quarterback.
Speaker 1 We had six turnovers last week against Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 5 I saw a negative turn. I was like 10 passing yard
Speaker 5 on a graphic earlier in the show today.
Speaker 1 There was a couple. Yeah, but you saw it.
Speaker 3
You saw it. I mean, he overthrew DK.
He overthrew Jonu.
Speaker 3 Aaron has been incredible this season. I want to, I'll say that, but last night was horrendous.
Speaker 3 He, he was on the three-yard line and thought he was Michael Vick and decided to jump backwards into the end zone for safety.
Speaker 1 That was how many people in Pittsburgh are saying the exact things that you just said right there? Did you hear that?
Speaker 1
I just heard every Pittsburgh dad go, oh, Aaron Rodgers, 47 years old, thinks he's Mike Vick. Okay, you're going to outrun Khalil Mack.
Okay, Aaron. Yeah, go further into the end zone next time.
Speaker 3 We could win the next five or we could lose the next five, and that's just how it is right now.
Speaker 1 Good luck to the Steelers and Phoenix Maximus. Yep.
Speaker 1
Let's go to the next overreaction. This one's from Grant.
I believe that's a Korean flag at Grant Andres, maybe international teacher or something.
Speaker 1
Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but Colts winning the Super Bowl. Indiana Jones sucking the blood out of the Falcons defense.
JT ramming through everyone like a juggernaut.
Speaker 1
The football gods blessing us with Warren, not even worried. about this schedule.
Me neither, Grant. Hell yeah.
Everything you just said was right.
Speaker 1 I knew it was uh a big day for jonathan taylor just because i saw him running a lot but with the way the game was going i don't think i expected it whenever they said he is 220 yards right now i was like 220
Speaker 1 good gutin morgan jonathan taylor this has been a great day over there in germany and then obviously with his ability to break the long run long one the home run one it's like any game is changeable.
Speaker 1
If we're losing, we're out. There's a chance we're about to hit a home run.
This is the longest touchdown of the season for Jonathan Taylor and the NFL for a run. It's like, this guy's outrageous.
Speaker 1 Four three touchdown games is insane. Offensive line seemingly all the way back.
Speaker 1 Now they do have to protect a little bit better and snappers got to get the ball to Daniel Jones' chest whenever he's snapping it. We can't have him bouncing all over the place.
Speaker 1
Danny Dimes has another two turnovers this week following last week's six turnover game. So eight turnovers in a two-week period.
We end up with a win throughout the, so that's good news.
Speaker 1 But if we get that cleaned up, which we should be able to, Danny Dimes is making massive throws. A lot of people want Daniel Jones Jones to go back to who he was in New York.
Speaker 1
I hate to break it to you. With little to no time left, he was dropping dimes.
In overtime, he dropped an absolute dime.
Speaker 1 Like the big moments, whenever they called for it, Daniel Jones delivered, which I think is what everybody who wants to see him fail would say he can't do. He can.
Speaker 1 Tyler Warren, to his point about the football gods blessing us, he's unbelievable. He had his ankle tape too.
Speaker 1
I have no idea what he's got going on, but he's not going on the field with an ankle tape like that if there isn't something real. So I assume he's pretty banged up.
He had a couple huge, huge.
Speaker 1 He had a fourth down obviously for us earlier. That one in overtime puts us in position to kick the field goal if we want to to win this.
Speaker 1 Instead, Jonathan Taylor says, Let me just go ahead and put him away and then I'll do my dance all over Germany.
Speaker 1 And the Colts were the home team, there was an interesting situation with Cleek Blakeman and a coin toss at overtime, but it felt like it was a home game too.
Speaker 1 Bjorn Werner was on the anvil beforehand, stood up the place, went crazy. The guy who sings the bank, bang, bang,
Speaker 1 what's his name?
Speaker 1
Scooter. Scooter performed his song.
Everybody was dancing. DeFlo was not performing.
He was probably there, if I had to guess. Edgrin James, Dallas, Clark were doing a bunch of stuff.
Speaker 1 Kalen built a parking lot or a pick, a park, I mean, I'm so sorry. Over there, it's like the Colts, Carly Ursay, goes and buys a round for everybody that was at the Colts' home-based bar.
Speaker 1 And then we actually got inside information from source
Speaker 1
in Germany that maybe were the DJ for a couple of different events. And the DJ said to us that Carly Ursay walked in.
Okay, I don't think she was supposed to plan to be there.
Speaker 1 Asked the DJ, hey, how do you say let's fucking go in German? DJ tells her, and then she says that to the crowd, place goes absolutely crazy.
Speaker 1 She does a how you doing, maybe buys around and then leaves. So it's like Carly, Kalen, the Colts tried to embrace Germany, I think, as much as possible.
Speaker 1 And I think Germany was embracing them back, especially with our history with Bjorn, former first-round pick, and obviously everything he's done for the game over there.
Speaker 1 And then we put on a show for him. It was like home run situation for a Colts home game in Germany.
Speaker 1 And I was really proud of the entire franchise and organization to be absolutely took a total team effort.
Speaker 5 You know, going overseas, there's always different challenges you got to deal with. It's a team.
Speaker 5 Coaches always say, hey, play the whole 60 minutes. We've seen teams around the league lose leads, Jaguars, Giants, whoever it is in that fourth quarter.
Speaker 5 So for us to close the game out, Bagley making a kick, Badgerly making a kick after he missed a couple, which was a big time kick.
Speaker 1 We needed it.
Speaker 5
And defense getting a stop in OT and offense going down and getting it done. And then, obviously, Sauce Gardner, you trade two first-round picks.
That's going to be a conversation.
Speaker 5 A lot of eyes are going to be on him. I can imagine what he was trying to deal with, learning the playbook, traveling, doing all the different things.
Speaker 5 So I'll give him a pass kind of on this performance, even though he had a good performance, but I don't think it was up to his standard. So I'm excited to see where we're.
Speaker 5 going with this full uh you know kind of this whole new team and new generation with daniel jones and then the the celebration. We got to talk about the celebration with Cam Biden.
Speaker 5 Because this, I think, this was a two Americas type of situation.
Speaker 1 Oh, no. I never talked to you.
Speaker 5 With the Colts tweet, and we talk about, hey, you never want to be the main character on black Twitter. The Colts' Twitter handle was definitely the main character on Sunday after the Cam Biden
Speaker 1 team.
Speaker 5 If we can pull that tweet up, we're looking. Okay, yeah, so Coach Cam Biden, you know, so Drew Hill, you know who Drew Hill is, you know, the big-time RB group.
Speaker 1
I'm 38 years old, so I know. 38.
Yeah, so they kind of song song. Exactly.
Speaker 5 He was the lead singer, but their, you know, main kind of dance move,
Speaker 5 once you pull the clip up, we'll see what that is. But it became more popular in the last, I would say, probably a year or so on Twitter
Speaker 5
in a group of Twitter, black Twitter. Parents have started to punish their kids with Drew Hills.
Like, hey, give me 10 Drew Hills. Give me 20 Drew Hills.
And obviously, kids have been pissed off.
Speaker 5 So Cam Bynum pulled it out. And then we'll have the post right here with the.
Speaker 1
Do we have the Colts post or just the dance? Yeah, yeah. Here's the.
Is this the Colts post that he was talking about? This is the dance. Can we show the dance first? We'll show the dance.
Speaker 1 So here's the dance. And then here's the.
Speaker 5
So great execution by the boys. Great, you know, they are all on the same page.
And then with the tweet, though, the tweet had the Colts were...
Speaker 5 Getting jiggy with it. So I don't know if they thought that was a big Willie performance.
Speaker 5 And then once you go down in the comments, you'll see a lot of, hey, all right, we know who's running the Colts account. We know what's going on here.
Speaker 1 So
Speaker 1 just be screwed up.
Speaker 5 Be on the same page.
Speaker 1 How many views on that getting jiggy with it?
Speaker 1 That got into black Twitter? It got in the middle. You just got to be sure, bro.
Speaker 11 Be sure before you go public with it, right?
Speaker 1 Got jiggy with it. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
Speaker 1 Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
Speaker 1 Scroll down, scroll down.
Speaker 1 Hey, okay, yeah. A lot of people saw this.
Speaker 5 some great codes a lot of quotes a lot of yeah so it's one of those moments but great vibes huge win by the colts over there in uh german well tv clear they did get jiggy they did that
Speaker 1 still a fact
Speaker 1 that's what's that's what's being said in the social media department we weren't saying it was will smith we were we were just saying that they were as you can see kind of getting a jiggy look at 32 he's getting jiggy with it right there are they not getting jiggy
Speaker 1 so you're telling me that's not getting jiggy okay I thought we're trying to get jiggy with it.
Speaker 1
Oh, I love it. The internet's the greatest.
It's the best. Let's go to another overreaction tweet, Shel.
This one's from TR at Chosen Few54, and we appreciate you being great at whatever you do.
Speaker 1
Hashtag, I don't want to overreact. But the Bills are dead.
Move us to Canada and get over with them. I'd rather shut my balls in a car door than ever watch what I had to witness on Sunday again.
Speaker 1 Tear down a new stadium and put the Buffalo statues out of their misery. All right, this guy wants them to kill the statues that aren't tall enough.
Speaker 1
So get them away from everything. Bills obviously lose to the Dolphins.
Their fans are not happy about it. Remember, not all ass teams are ass all the time.
Nope.
Speaker 1 And on that note, every once in a while, really good teams are going to play like ass, which I think is what happened on this particular field down in South Florida.
Speaker 1
Obviously, Dolphins fans are very excited. Dumpy's got a hoodie.
He's got a hat. I mean, he's got the whole thing on this Victory Monday.
They were celebrating in the locker room. They love McDaniels.
Speaker 1
This comes after they fire Greer. So maybe a special Sunday for Miami.
And on that note, Bills fans, you can't give up that quick. You can't give up that quick.
Speaker 1 Now, there's some trends that are happening to this Bills defense that I think are alarming for Bills fans if you want to win a Super Bowl. Hembo sent us a stat.
Speaker 1
They're not stopping to run at all against good running backs. Derrick Henry goes crazy.
B. John Robinson goes crazy.
A-chan goes crazy against the Buffalo Bills rush defense.
Speaker 1
So they certainly have reason to be, you know, a little bit alarmed. But on that note, let's not be putting our balls in a card door.
Okay, let's not be smashing any balls indoors at this moment.
Speaker 2
Yeah, they're a fickle bunch. I think the reason is because they are looking ahead.
The bill schedule is very, very tough. They got the Bucs at home, tough game, especially Bucs coming off a loss.
Speaker 2 At Houston in prime time, at Steelers, Bengals, December 7th, which.
Speaker 1 So you're saying a lot of things I'm hearing not the same. Yeah, yeah, true, true.
Speaker 2 Two of those three so far, not great. But now the Bengals in December 7th, with what we heard today, that's Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 if he comes back at New England, Browns, okay, and then the Eagles. So just with that race, like they.
Speaker 1 I'm a Bills fan. I'm pretty excited.
Speaker 1 I'm pretty excited for what we got down the stretch here.
Speaker 6
I did keep going to Debone's Twitter to see how Bills Mafia was feeling yesterday. And there was just nothing there.
It was interesting.
Speaker 1 It's hard to tweet when you're losing.
Speaker 6 Debone. Maybe, you know, he can't be a front runner.
Speaker 1
Yeah, true. Debone understands.
He's a national champion football player.
Speaker 2 Yeah, he knows.
Speaker 1
They got the Eagles still. They got the Bucs still.
They got New England still.
Speaker 5 Kincaid got hurt again, too.
Speaker 14 He's their best left.
Speaker 1 All right, so let's say those are three losses. Besides,
Speaker 2 Joe Burrow Bengals, I think we just kind of have to wait and see, I guess.
Speaker 4 They're what? A game and a half behind the Pats right now?
Speaker 4
They really can't afford it. And I think the Pats, I mean, you know, whatever you want to, however you want to look at it.
And we talked about how
Speaker 4
every team in the NFL is good, but in terms of strength of schedule, I think they have the easiest remaining schedule. The Pats do.
So it's like, like,
Speaker 4 can you even afford to lose three games?
Speaker 5 Do we think the Bills can win the Super Bowl this year? No.
Speaker 1
I don't think anybody. Look at Hembo set up again about the rush yards.
Yeah. That is going to be tough to win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 B.A. was talking about
Speaker 1 weeks ago.
Speaker 3 They're 31st in rushing.
Speaker 5 Like, it's not just those three.
Speaker 5 Yeah, and even Josh Allen still
Speaker 3 gets the run.
Speaker 5 But like, if you look at the offense as a whole, like, that offense isn't scaring anybody outside of James Cook.
Speaker 4 Guys couldn't get open yesterday
Speaker 1
at all. Hey, I saw a lot of sick flexing out of Miami.
Guy got a pick, I think, grill, full grill, right in the camera. Them celebrating afterwards, I'm like, good for Miami.
Good for Miami.
Speaker 1
Having fun. This is the experience you're supposed to have as a professional football player.
Yeah, I like that you're getting to have this.
Speaker 1
Now, are they potentially thinking, who knows when this is coming again? We have no idea. Everybody, unload the clip on shit we've wanted to do.
Okay.
Speaker 1 Get the laundry baskets. Fucking get the noise because the music is.
Speaker 5 It's first for me.
Speaker 1 Yeah, and get the stage ready for coach.
Speaker 1 We need a spinner rootie fucking hit the worm as well sir we need fucking coach standing on a riser we need everything i question we don't know when this is happening again we need all the speeches we need all the chance let's get the cigars in this motherfucker this is football this is what it's supposed to be here boys this is what it's supposed to be do all coaches stand on stuff when they talk to the stick or just at their own little stage it looks like they travel with that thing looks like its own stage it was a home game the world is a stage and mcdaniel certainly taking advantage of it but yeah he just wants to be able to see everybody in the back you know that's kind of how it is got the next overreaction shall we from the buffalo bills slamming their balls in car doors to tyler stevenson hashtag i don't want to overreact but
Speaker 1 whoever that dip that said koc and jj nine were going to run the nfc north needs to be held accountable
Speaker 1 this team will go absolutely nowhere with this alter ego loser qb round of applause to quasi and koc on this move i miss darnold
Speaker 1 A lot of Vikings fans not happy about nine?
Speaker 4
Yeah, people are sick of the nine thing. I think if he would have just said, I'm McCarthy the whole time, no big deal.
Hey, our young quarterback had a little bit of a rough game, but
Speaker 4 I mean, the alter ego sucks. I think that's the problem.
Speaker 1
What do you mean? This guy's new to the NFL. He's your first real snaps.
He's a rookie.
Speaker 4 Yeah, but like you said, I mean, I think.
Speaker 1 Well, he's not, but you get it. Right.
Speaker 4
And you can, you know, we've seen it with Josh Allen. Like, you can get a little bit more accurate, you know, while you're in the league.
20 of 42 ain't going to cut it.
Speaker 4 And some of these interceptions that he was throwing
Speaker 1 Manning through 20 receptions.
Speaker 2 Do you think J.J. McCarthy is Peyton Manning? Just
Speaker 1 early. Just early.
Speaker 1 Just early on.
Speaker 1 We don't have to do a whole, just yes or no.
Speaker 1 Do you think J.J.
Speaker 2 McCarthy is Peyton Manning?
Speaker 5 Personally, I don't.
Speaker 1
I don't know if Peyton was ever saying 18. Call me 18.
Exactly. I mean, maybe? Sure.
Speaker 2 Don't fucking call me Peyton.
Speaker 1 I'm 18 on the field.
Speaker 2 People also are not happy about the nine thing because Matt Stafford. People are like, oh, this guy thinks he's the number in the quarterback, Matt Stafford.
Speaker 1 Number nine in soccer is a huge deal, too. So, I mean, there's a lot of like nine indicators.
Speaker 5 I saw a lot of replies on the post-locker room, the video when he was, you know.
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah. Well, not just that, like, he threw.
He was 142. Yeah,
Speaker 1 he threw one good pass
Speaker 2 in the first quarter, and he's walking down the field like he just won the fucking game.
Speaker 1
He got an unflappable confidence. He does.
He's a young man. You got to be confident.
So we can say whatever we want. He's got about him.
Hold on. Let's get into this.
Speaker 1
You guys see me in the yard. Still early.
Still early. But on that note, JJ, I believe, buddy.
I believe in you, JJ. I believe in JJ.
Speaker 1
Everybody says he's the guy mentally. It's like, we'll see offseason.
He hasn't had like a career, an NFL career, really, opportunity. This is his rookie season.
He's in there for the first time.
Speaker 1 So he might have some ass throws like off by 10 yards.
Speaker 1 Guys that need to work on accuracy and all that stuff, which he certainly does. But from everything we know about him, he'll take ownership of that and hopefully get better.
Speaker 4
A lot of what I was seeing too was, oh boy, J.J. McCarthy is going to turn Justin Jefferson into Stephon Diggs when he was in Minnesota.
And then
Speaker 1
KFC won't let that happen. Somebody's going to be throwing the ball to Justin Jefferson.
Yeah, Drunk May, it sounds like. Somebody is going to be.
Speaker 1 Holy shit.
Speaker 1
No, he went to the Bills. You better hope not.
You better hope, especially with Brandon Bean looking into Jalen
Speaker 1 Waddle allegedly during the trade deal.
Speaker 2 Yeah, he was going to go to the Bills because they were the kings kings of the AFC East, but that's over. And now
Speaker 2 this year, everyone sees what's happening. You want to play for Mike Vabel and get Drake have a lot of money, too, up there? We have the most money by a wide margin over the next few years.
Speaker 1
I know it's Martin. They got a lot of picks.
I mean, they...
Speaker 1
Yeah, hey. I don't know how we let this happen as a league.
As a league.
Speaker 2 And I don't know what it is, but... The number three is now mine.
Speaker 2 It used to be four, but now the number three is my new favorite number because if you just look at, you know, just the importance of it, Jason Tatum, Jalen Brown, and Drake May, all the number three overall pick.
Speaker 2 I mean, it's just one of those things where they just fall into your lap sometimes.
Speaker 1 Other people make decisions, you guys say thank you. Exactly.
Speaker 1
Let's go. The next overreaction.
This is what life is now. We've been trying to give warnings.
This is from at NFL Opinions.
Speaker 1 Hashtag, I don't want to react, but the Jets are
Speaker 1
back. We let the stars walk and instantly become better.
Had fun with Slips Gardner.
Speaker 1 That's good. Sorry about it.
Speaker 1
It was a two-point play. Yeah, and the guy got a good get off.
He was trying to jump it. He knew it was going to be a quick play.
It was worth two. It wasn't worth six.
Speaker 1
Everybody thinks that's a touchdown. It's a two-point conversion right here.
Now, was it pretty important? Certainly. Certainly.
It was fourth quarter.
Speaker 1
He's one-on-one out there against their guy, too. So obviously, it's what you bring Sauce Gardner in.
It's the German grass. Yeah.
It's the German grass. He's used to poopy Met Life.
Speaker 1
And he got tripped up to. I don't like that Drake London kicked his feet while he was running there.
It was a little cheating there. I like Sauce got his hands on the ball.
It felt like
Speaker 1
throughout the game, got more comfortable. Everybody kind of got more comfortable.
They're getting live reps. Like, hey, this is what we're going to do in this moment.
Speaker 1
This is what we're going to do in this moment. Because I've said it felt like through the game, like Sauce and the defense were figuring it out.
That's really what it felt like.
Speaker 1 And if you think about when he got there, when he got cleared from Concussion Protocol, they had to travel to Germany. What's that like? Is there a walkthrough?
Speaker 1 There hasn't really been much for Sauce to kind of get involved. So I think real reps were really all they had.
Speaker 5 and at the beginning it looked like there was a disconnect and then it looked better him getting cooked there for the two-point conversion certainly sucks drake kicked his feet so i'm kind of cheating there but i think he's a massive and i think he had a great game yeah so legitimacy for what he was dealing with once again i think to sauce's standard i don't think it's up to his standard but he was dealing with a lot i kind of give it a wash literally if you're watching the game you can see a lot of times whoever it was kenny moore or cam whoever you're communicate with him almost to the last second to make sure he's doing what he's doing we talked about luan aroma and all the moving parts in his defense.
Speaker 5
So trying to learn and playing that. Some people are trying to say the Drake London touchdown was on him.
He wasn't. We'll maybe talk about that later in the week.
But great play design.
Speaker 5 He made a great play when he dove and got that PBU which set up. But those are the plays.
Speaker 5 For Sauce throughout his career that you got to make. You got to make those good plays into great plays.
Speaker 5 You got to have ball production, especially when an organization is giving up two first-round picks. But on the other side, next week, all pro Mooney should be coming back.
Speaker 5 So seeing those two corners on the outside with Kenny Moore, Cam Bynum, Nick Cross, like we got, we got pieces back.
Speaker 1
Yeah, we're going through Bully Jay. It's good news.
And on the other half of that tweet, does feel like the Jets are certainly creating something special over there with Aaron Glenn.
Speaker 1
To Kirk Herbstreet's point, though, played the Browns and the Bengal. Yep.
Okay, played the Browns and the Bengals, which got to win games. That's not your fault.
Speaker 1 But on that note, I love that they're honoring your friend, Legit.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah, they're. It feels like he's a part of it.
Speaker 11
Oh, yeah. He definitely is.
I mean, this was awesome. They made some really sweet shirts and hats, too, for him.
Yeah, his family was there. I mean, I'm sure it was awesome in the stadium for this.
Speaker 11 But yeah, believe me, Nick is, you should have seen the police presence at his funeral, all the biker cops. There's like 40 biker cops leading us everywhere.
Speaker 11 They came out and the Jet security, everyone there, they loved that dude. So it was awesome.
Speaker 1 It feels like, and that's Ohio State legend there, right?
Speaker 1
What's his name? Rucker. Rucker, Rucker, great mustache on him.
Rucker. Tight end.
Yeah, Ruckert the tight end with a great mustache. Fourth year out of Ohio State.
Speaker 1
Wears the mango jersey on the way in. But it does feel like he's a part of it, you know? And that's cool.
And I think that's good baby face for the Jets from outside in. Like, I like Nick Mangold.
Speaker 1
So the fact that you're honoring Nick Mangold and continuing to do that, like, we like that. And then Aaron Glenn and them having success, good for you guys over there at the Jets.
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1
You deserve it, man. You deserve it.
Let's go. The next overreaction is from Casey Jones at Casey K.
Jones 14. Hashtag, I don't overreact, but it's time for BA to leave with Pat McVeigh.
Whoa! Jeez.
Speaker 1
And get back to calling plays for the Bucs. This offense went from top of the league with an MVP QB to to complete shite in a matter of weeks.
And that's no BS. We need BA.
Speaker 1 Injuries or not, it's shite.
Speaker 1
All right, well, ask B.A. if he wants to get back on the headset.
I think towards the end of his career, he wasn't looking to do that.
Speaker 1 But I do think with Baker Mayfield, expectations are for their offense to be great right now.
Speaker 5
Absolutely. And this is the first year play caller for Baker.
So the continuity thing. And then at this point, in the season, you know, defenses want to take away some of the things that you do great.
Speaker 5
On top of that, you're missing a bunch of wide receivers. And Maki Abuka is going to be your number one target week in and week out.
So, defenses are going to key in on them.
Speaker 5 But coming into that game, Baker Mayfield was averaging 20 completions of 200 yards over a three-game span after that MVP start to the season. So, I understand what he's saying.
Speaker 5 Getting Bucky Irving back will be a big addition for this offense as well. I think that Bucs offense will be okay down the stretch.
Speaker 1
We love Tampa. Let's go to the next overreaction.
It's from Lenley, 1993. It's going to be okay at Gordy 2P.
Hashtag, I don't want to overreact. But
Speaker 1 while y'all continue to yap about Drake May, MVP, Chief Kingdom, or Colts winning a Super Bowl, the real MVP contenders are in the Midwest. The Bears.
Speaker 1
Not only have the coach of the year, but MVP Caleb Williams. This is our year.
Caleb looked like he was running 40 miles an hour around that edge to win that game. I mean, that was spectacular.
Speaker 1 This is the Caleb Williams shit from college that you wondered, is he going to be able to do this in the NFL when everybody's fast?
Speaker 1
Yeah, in November to win a game in the fourth quarter. He gets the edge in a huge way.
What a win for the Bears. And it was chatted about already, but the Bears do a lot of coming back, too.
Speaker 1
So I think the resolve and the grit of that team are certainly settling in. And every time we see the locker room afterwards, they're a real deal.
Hey, the Bears are the real deal.
Speaker 1 And Ben Johnson is too, AJ.
Speaker 11
Yeah, they are. And I mean, I think if you are a Bears fan, you got to be most excited.
Yeah, they didn't. A Bears offense didn't do a whole lot.
Speaker 11 And then, what, six, seven minutes ago in the fourth quarter, and they absolutely come alive. And Caleb get a huge, what, I think, 90-some-yard drive to lead him back.
Speaker 11 Like, when it matters, it seems like Caleb absolutely steps up.
Speaker 1 Go for the Paris. Yeah.
Speaker 5
Back-to-back ends. We got Caleb in this offense.
I believe he all four game-winning drives this season. And yeah, to your point, he looks fast as shit.
Speaker 1
Fast as shit. That ends was outrageous because you just assume it's terrible grass as well.
You assume that the field is terrible. So the ability to get out there, making throws in the locker room.
Speaker 1
Can't stress this enough. The locker room is awesome in Chicago.
They like each other. It is very evident that they like each other.
Maybe they go on a run in this NFC North and do their thing.
Speaker 1
Let's go to the next overreaction show. This is from BM at Bulldata.
Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but the Ravens are going to the Super Bowl for real this time.
Speaker 1
And after yesterday, I can't wait to watch old man Rogers and the Steelers' hopes and dreams burn to ash while we slow roast them over the fire we made with Mr. Steve's ping-pong tables.
Love this.
Speaker 1 Now, listen, Butta and the entire Baltimore Ravens fan stavi have to be.
Speaker 1
Beginning of the season, it was tough for Ravens fans. yeah.
Oh, my God. Their defense was the worst in the league.
People were pounding them. The offense couldn't do anything.
Speaker 1
We're supposed to be good. We're one in five.
What the fuck? Sports books were like, just wait, just wait, just wait. And now we're at the point,
Speaker 1 this Ravens team is going to win AFC North, and the Ravens are probably going to go on a run in the playoffs. Debut, did we expect this from the amount of talent on the team? What are your thoughts?
Speaker 5 We expect the Ravens to be an absolute wagon coming into the season, but honestly, at this point in the season, I would not put them in a Super Bowl contender. Whoa,
Speaker 5 I'll put them right in the bucket with the Buffalo Beals.
Speaker 5 Unbelievable quarterbacks, MVP talents, but just what the team has done around them up until this point, I don't see them really being real down the stretch. And that can change.
Speaker 5 When you have that type of talent and you have, what I think, good coaches on both sidelines, that can definitely change.
Speaker 5 But if I had to pick right now, if I had to only pick, let's say, five teams that could realistically win the Super Bowl this season, the Baltimore Ravens wouldn't be on that top five.
Speaker 2 You can make the argument that the biggest loss for any team this year has been Mattabuke for Baltimore. Without him in the middle, their defense just isn't the same.
Speaker 2 Let alone run stop, you know, and, you know, pass rush and stuff. He's like one of their leaders on that defense with Roquan Smith and Kyle Hamilton.
Speaker 2 So without him is one thing, but they're going to be just fine.
Speaker 1
No, the odds on favor to win the AFC North. Have been for a while.
That's only growing. And,
Speaker 1
yeah, we shall see if they're able to work it out. Let's go.
The next overreaction is from ATL Josh at JKraken24. Hashtag, I don't want to overreact.
But the Falcons are dead. Panix is trash.
Speaker 1
Raheem is clueless. And clearly, Arthur Blank's kids need to take over for them to ever be successful.
A mildly competent coach and Matt Ryan out of retirement would have this team in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 AJ, your thoughts?
Speaker 11
I don't know if I fully agree with this overreaction. I mean, the Falcons are one of those teams, too.
Like they ride the roller coaster. I feel like they absolutely could have won.
Speaker 11 But, you know, I guess teams, until you get over that hump and to prove that you are in the next tier,
Speaker 11 those are the games you win. I think think the Falcons obviously let this one slip away.
Speaker 1
Nine. Yeah, they were never going to win that game.
Okay, they were never going to win that game out there. The Colts were going to win that one the entire time, but I will say this.
Speaker 1
Falcons were playing good. Like Falcons were playing very good.
I mean, that defense was everywhere. Their defense is relentless.
Speaker 11 Yeah.
Speaker 10 Their defense,
Speaker 11 I don't know how many sacks, they got a ton of sacks and tons of pressure. Like they can, obviously, stopping the run is another issue.
Speaker 1 Guys bleeding from his mouth. Guys bleeding from his mouth at quarterback.
Speaker 1 And obviously, Jonathan Taylor runs for 250, so that kind of goes against everything about saying saying they have a good defense this is so great but daniel jones mouth is bleeding because he was getting hit i mean the atlanta falcons played good football i thought in the morning which is why i was so excited about the win i'm like we caught the atlanta falcons on a day where they were playing very well like they were playing very offensively i thought obviously you have some changes you have to make pennix made a couple good throws missed a couple that weren't good some bad decisions took place but i thought the falcons were playing good so whenever we get the win i'm like excited about it and then all anybody said was it was the falcons it was the falcons it's like it's a nfl team it's a good team yeah It's an NFL team.
Speaker 1 They are a good team.
Speaker 11 I think the Colts are going to the Colts. That's a game that maybe in the past they lose, don't you think? A game like that, when you're not, you don't know how to win, you're not used to winning.
Speaker 11
Those are the games you let slip away. And you think about after the season, oh, what could have been.
No, the Colts figured it out and they got to win.
Speaker 11 And you get to have a nice, fun, long plane ride home, obviously.
Speaker 1 Oh, that had to be so much better than the fucking Falcons.
Speaker 11 Can you imagine every coach and player just so happy they won? Like, oh, yeah.
Speaker 1
Well, we flew back from London after a loss. I was on about 170 170 milligrams because I had to eat all this stuff.
But yeah, it was an interesting vibe on the way back.
Speaker 1
I didn't know we were going through the actual airport. We're going through Heathrow.
What? Can't go through Heathrow.
Speaker 1 They got actual scanners there, right? Yeah. Oh, no.
Speaker 1 I've seen locked up abroad.
Speaker 1
Got to make these disappear. All right, I'm just going to.
Got to eat them all. I'm going to throw them away.
Speaker 1 Well, there's a cop literally sitting right next to the trash can up there in the front of the bus.
Speaker 1 All right.
Speaker 1 Vinny,
Speaker 1 you want to help me here? What do you need to do? I need to make all these disappear.
Speaker 1 By when?
Speaker 1
How far is the airport? We're five minutes out. We got five minutes to make this disappear.
Jesus. I don't know, bud.
Speaker 5 All right.
Speaker 1 Fuck it.
Speaker 1 Gone.
Speaker 1
As soon as we get there, off the bus, right in the check-in, long line. to get our bags through there.
And just every moment that passes, I'm just starting to take off to a different altitude.
Speaker 1 vintage like i got you buddy i'll get you in a plane thank you and boarding pass
Speaker 1 yeah so then we go through the thing my bag obviously gets selected okay they check my bag so i have to go wait around a thing vinny's like i'll wait with you thank you sir
Speaker 1 gone eyes have no idea what my eyes look like everybody sees it in my eyes every day i think so you know could be anything was so loaded with excuses i'm tired super tired we just played a full football game
Speaker 1 yeah
Speaker 1 whole thing i was
Speaker 1 i was going through it all especially in that moment you're going through everything
Speaker 1
And my immediate thought is, oh, no, I left some in the bag somewhere. There's some in that bag somewhere.
I ate a lot, though. I don't know, but maybe there's some in that bag.
They get through.
Speaker 1
It turns out it was just like toothpaste or something. Like, you can't have this.
I'm like, yeah, I know. You want me to eat it?
Speaker 1
So then I kind of go back, go all the way to our gate. I don't have a boarding pass.
Somewhere in the process, I lost my boarding pass. So I have no idea where that is.
Speaker 1
They have to print out another one at the thing. So I'm standing at the thing.
Boarding pass. While everybody of the Indianapolis Colts is boarding the fucking plane
Speaker 11 just standing after a loss too that's a much different situation after a loss than a one you see pad over it oh shit what happened
Speaker 1 arrested yeah if you win it's a funny if it's if you win it's funny and they're fist bumping you so if you lose you're just head down everyone just like oh yeah and I think there's starting to be some buzz about what was possibly taking place you know shout out to Vinatari never left me Vinatari sat over there he was making fun of me while everybody else was making fun of me this guy lost his boarding pass i'm like vinny shut the fuck up
Speaker 1
i should be trying to get some gum over here or something like that. He goes, yeah, everybody kind of sees it.
So it was a whole scene for us. And then on the plane, obviously, we just lost.
Speaker 1
So it's just like you leave second because you lost in the international game. And also, it's a long-ass flight back.
And it's like the next week's fucked because of everything you schedule.
Speaker 1 It's just winning that game has to be so much better. I've never experienced it, but it has to be
Speaker 1 so much better.
Speaker 5
A rookie year, we went over to London and played the Bucs, and we won. And yeah, it was a fun ride.
That would have been a great
Speaker 5 plane. Oh, yeah, for sure.
Speaker 5 but on that note with traveling and shit shout out to tsa and all the people that's been showing up because it's been a shit show in these airports people out there showing up not getting paid and shit you know with the government shutdown and all that so shout out to them doing you know doing their best absolutely and i believe right we had some real progress in the entire world over the last 24 hours that's good news hopefully that's within the next couple of days yeah it's crazy to think about what that's why is all dependent upon stuff especially this time of year like with thanksgiving right around the corner like point also how dangerous it all is legit you know yeah when the pilot comes on and say hey we got to wait because uh air traffic control you know they're cutting down 20 of uh boss like all right
Speaker 1 okay so are we just eyeballing this thing so are we able to land yeah you are okay all right sounds good uh yeah shout out to everybody giving their time for the good of society wild time i believe there is going to be a payback on the back end if what i read is accurate so you know do the right thing hopefully you get get rewarded in the end but even if you don't doing the right thing is the right thing to do.
Speaker 1
Hell yeah. Class overreaction.
This is from Bullets fan, Roka92. Hashtag, I don't want to overreact.
But Justin Herbert is the MVP.
Speaker 1
No other quarterback could survive behind a line built from other teams' scrap piles like the Chargers and keep getting to W. So we saw the PFF ranks, brother.
We know.
Speaker 1 We know what you're saying. And Herbert is an incredible.
Speaker 1
Incredible quarterback to lead a team that has this particular problem. He's very tough, and he doesn't say anything negative about anything.
Super positive, always on to the next one.
Speaker 1 Incredibly tough, incredibly athletic, incredibly talented. Chargers get a huge win on Sunday night football and I'm a believer in hardball football and I'm a believer in this Chargers team.
Speaker 1 Can they win the Super Bowl? 38 out of 38 at tackle.
Speaker 1 Absolutely not. I don't think so.
Speaker 5 Is he out for the year? I think so. And Slayer's
Speaker 2
out for the year for sure. Yeah.
I don't know if Ion Johnson.
Speaker 5
It's going to be tough. We always look at AQ's trenches and those teams.
Those are ones that usually go.
Speaker 3 He got sacked five times last night.
Speaker 1 Well, Deculus is out there getting shit talked before the game even starts by graphics.
Speaker 1 What do you think he's going to do? Hey, boys, way to get a win over there.
Speaker 1
They said it was impossible with how bad you guys were. That's what PFF said.
Not us. We're believers.
Pick the Chargers, I believe. All right, we're going to get out of here.
Speaker 1
Tomorrow we'll be live from Paris Island. Historic Day tomorrow.
Big time show. We're going to be enjoying.
Speaker 1 The opportunity to honor and thank our country's veterans who have signed a line to say, we'll go do it. If it has to happen, we'll be the ones.
Speaker 1
Badass individuals. We can't thank them enough.
We'll try to tomorrow. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
It might change your life. We're in this thing together.
Team on me, team on three.
Speaker 1
Good luck tonight, boys. Packers, Eagles, take it home.
One, two, three.
Speaker 1 Goodbye.
