Speaker 1 Welcome to the Pat McAfee Show. Feel good Friday, November 21st.
I'm AJ Hawks sitting in for Pat here in Indianapolis. Pat's in Eugene.
Big game last night, boys.

Speaker 1 Football!

Speaker 1 Football is what it is last night. Huge game.
Pat and Eugene, what's going on, buddy? What a game last night.

Speaker 1 Hey, I'm all the way in Eugene, you know, staring at some new green, checking out the new scenes, changing up the routine. Life is good.

Speaker 1 Autson Stadium here in 40-degree weather with a little bit of fog over the beautiful pines that are lined from one side of this state to the other.

Speaker 1 Oregon hosts USC and a CFP conversation game for the weekend. Cannot wait for that.
Dan Lanning will be joining us here in about 25 minutes or so. Game day will be live, 9 a.m.

Speaker 1 Eastern on ESPN on all platforms. It's available.
And also still live on X on our account and at ESPN's account.

Speaker 1 That's been quite a little tag team, a little tandem, a little duo that has been spectacular, maybe transforming what the future of sports media looks like.

Speaker 1 But nonetheless, massive weekend here in Oregon. It's far, but it is beautiful.
The fog kind of covers up the beauty a little bit, you know?

Speaker 1 So you hop into a time capsule, you fly out here over Rockies, look down, it's so cool. It's just, you know

Speaker 1 that there's majestic mountains.

Speaker 1 under that pitch black out there, you know, and the more pitch black, you know, the more majestic it is, because this is like where they helicopter in to go do their skiing stuff part of the Rockies.

Speaker 1 You know, you're way out there. Then you land, and it's like, hey, well, close to not being able to get down because the visibility is low.
And then you think to yourself, visibility is low.

Speaker 1 Well, I'm not even going to get a chance to see beautiful Oregon. And then before we went live here, a lot of these trees are not even visible.
It was just a gray, basic wall that kind of took place.

Speaker 1 That thing has moved out. And now it has set the stage for a wonderful weekend here in Oregon, a wonderful weekend of ball.
I can't wait for that.

Speaker 1 Now, to your point, AJ, last night, I'll tell you what, the AFC South, yeah, Age, the AFC South is something to talk about.

Speaker 1 Now, I woke up yesterday morning, Age, and it appeared very early from when you joined us that you had a differing opinion than I did.

Speaker 1 But I woke up yesterday morning with diner and Asauna, then, you know, face splash in a cold tub in the gym as well. And Texans Plus 6 just felt too obvious to me.

Speaker 1 It just was, why is my entire body, we're talking from my toes through my soul to my eyes and my hair, everything in me was like, Texans, let's put everything we own on Texans plus six.

Speaker 1 It was a weird feeling, a weird intuition. So much so that I actually thought to myself,

Speaker 1 I maybe need this is too much. Then you hear the public money, 78% in the morning on the Buffalo Bills, minus six.
Then it ended up being 77%.

Speaker 1 It's like, wow, 23% of the people are seeing the same way I'm seeing.

Speaker 1 That might be really good or really bad. Good news for me, AJ.
I'm seeing the fucking field. Hey, listen, the Texans did exactly what we thought they were going to do.

Speaker 1 The Texans defense, number one in the entire NFL. Now, this is very similar to the situation that took place here in Oregon when Indiana came about three weeks ago, four weeks ago.

Speaker 1 I've been watching the Indiana Hoosiers. I don't think a lot of people had been watching the Indiana Hoosiers.
I knew that the Hoosiers were very good at ball.

Speaker 1 I don't know how many people are watching AFC South football whenever it's not on prime time. I don't know how many people are watching the Houston Texans or keeping up with the Houston Texans.

Speaker 1 Will Anderson, he's see a C on his chest. It's not just the fact that he's captain and he's like a guy that has been become a pillar guy.
But But remember, they traded up to go get him.

Speaker 1 Daniil Hunter gets signed from the Minnesota Vikings down there to Houston. D'Amico Ryans wanted his defense to be swarming and everywhere.
That's how he wanted to build the culture. C.J.

Speaker 1 Stroud got a lot of pub, obviously, because his rookie career was so outstanding. But D'Amico Ryans is a defensive savant.
He's a beast. He's a dog.
And they got dogs all over the field.

Speaker 1 Josh Allen sacked eight times, the most in his career.

Speaker 1 Obviously, his record at NRG Stadium, which was live last night, both myself and Coach McCarthy, and I think anybody that's ever played against the Houston Texans in a big game would compliment that environment.

Speaker 1 They were loud as hell last night. And I know Amazon Prime, they're not really like big on like, let's turn up the crowd noise.
That's kind of one of their things. I think we're learning that.

Speaker 1 I think we're learning that, right? I think that's what we're learning. Why is that? I don't understand that.
Why is that?

Speaker 1 I don't know, man. I don't know.

Speaker 1 Even if it's not a big game, it makes it more of a big game feel, I feel like. I think crowd noise always needs to be.
You need to ride that level all game. Keep it up.

Speaker 1 Yeah, they're a character, right? It's a part of the sport is like like the environment. That's why home field advantage is a thing.
I think we view it that way because we know how important it is.

Speaker 1 And I think Houston Texans' defense understand how important it is down there as well.

Speaker 1 And I'm not saying it's just because of the crowd down at NRG, but you get that defense with that crowd in a primetime game. It's like that's going to be a weapon for sure.

Speaker 1 And Josh Allen has struggled against this group. And obviously, we put the record up there in regular season and in playoffs, you're talking about a 40.6 QBR.
That's out of 100.

Speaker 1 That's the worst he has.

Speaker 1 14 sacks in total, eight of them last night that's the most 17.8 points per game i mean like josh allen the unstoppable object has had problems in houston houston has a solution they do not have a problem especially against the buffalo bills and it's how great that defense is and then dougie davis mills age we told the story to herbstreet yesterday about why we have followed davis mills maybe closer than any other nfl show and it's strictly because we disrespected the shit out of him as soon as we learned of his existence d mills is playing oh dougie had a great one his name's Davis, actually.

Speaker 1 Well, now they're calling him Money Mills because what this dude is doing for Houston is winning games and he completely understands the situation. He's been around a long time, okay?

Speaker 1 This guy understands he's a backup quarterback for C.J. Stroud, loves his role, appreciates his role, shows up in his role, and wins games.
I mean, I mean, this guy is spinning it all over the place.

Speaker 1 The Buffalo Bills defense is going to continue to be questioned, okay? Especially because Money Mills played against him, and not a lot of people.

Speaker 1 people have appreciation for money mills even though i think everybody agreed on the internet that he maybe should be a starter somewhere this guy needs to start maybe getting some looks.

Speaker 1 Couldn't imagine if a team was like shaped around him. Remember, we've done the backup quarterback conversation before.
But AJ, it's like, I felt it yesterday morning.

Speaker 1 And maybe even, dare I say Wednesday night when I went to bed. The Houston Texans, I think, are much better than what their record said they were, which was 500.

Speaker 1 And I think if you have a defense that's a championship defense, you can win any game, Hawker. Yeah, you can't.

Speaker 1 Foxy, I don't know if we have that graph. This is a beautiful graphic right here, but I know Woody Marks added a lot to it.

Speaker 1 That dude runs hard, man.

Speaker 1 i don't know if you like this graphic right here though those bottom three turnovers sacks red zone so yeah the bills have three turnovers texans zero obviously dougie mills taking care of the ball eight sacks to none like that's wild and then in the red zone you know the bills are 0-2 and the texans score 50 of the time like that right there tells you all the story you need to know and dougie mills he doesn't need to go out there and be joe montana in his prime he just needs to take care of the ball score when needed get a big touchdown going into half i think which was huge for this team and they let your defense go out there and eat and and your defense gets eight sacks.

Speaker 1 Like they were absolutely relentless. It was really fun to watch this Texans defense.

Speaker 1 AJ, like me, were you worried there at the end, though? When they pick up a fourth and 27, it's like, yep. And now, I didn't want to, you know.

Speaker 1 cart before horse type situation. Hook and ladder here, fourth and 27.
You would think that they would, you know, be ready for that.

Speaker 1 But I mean, just perfect biting on the corner there that leads to a perfect setup. I mean, annexation of Puerto Rico, obviously a great play in the history and the annals of football.

Speaker 1 The hook and ladder, one of the greatest plays in the history of football because it's basically a Hail Mary with a little close Sicilian involved.

Speaker 1 You know, let's go ahead and try to bait him and it works to perfection. But I thought this was football gods and Josh Allen and Buffalo Bills saying like, this has been cute.
Okay.

Speaker 1 This has been cute. My only deep shot, this guy, I don't know if he doesn't show up at team meetings or doesn't care that he doesn't show up at team meetings.

Speaker 1 I don't know what the hell is going on with Keon Coleman, but Josh Allen's looking around. I don't got any, like, what am I supposed to do? We got no deep shot.

Speaker 1 We got a defense that knows we got to go short. Okay.
And we got a great defense that knows we got to go short throughout the entire game. But in the end, MVPs are going to do MVP shit.

Speaker 1 That's what I was thinking here as we were kind of, I think we were over the Rockies at this point as this was kind of happening. I'm like, oh, no.
Texans are going to Texans this thing, I think.

Speaker 1 Texans are going to blow this. The Buffalo Bills may be going to Buffalo Bills this.
And instead, they still get a stop. There's like so many times that the Houston Texans answered.

Speaker 1 You talked about right before half. Houston Texans answer right there.
Fourth and 27, football god saying you probably lose this. Texans answer here with a pick.
It's like, I'm proud and I'm not a

Speaker 1 obviously the Colts run the AFC South. So it's not okay.

Speaker 1 But like D'Amico Ryan's team, the resiliency, the mental toughness, the fortitude, the talent, it's like, they don't get talked about a lot down there, but

Speaker 1 they're a good football team. They are a good football team.
So whenever you talk about the AFC South, you got Jacksonville Jaguars, they're back, right?

Speaker 1 They got questioned, I guess, at quarterback still, but it feels like that's always going to be for Trevor Lawrence. He was the highly, the highest, like,

Speaker 1 what is the points? I don't know. What would it be? Great.
Highest,

Speaker 1 highest grade. One of those things.

Speaker 1 Yeah, but is it the 151? I don't know. But he was the high.
This guy's supposed to be the guy. So he's always going to be judged until he wins, especially with some of the shit that we've seen.

Speaker 1 But it's like Jacksonville Jaguars, much better spot. Houston Texans, very good football team.
And then the Indianapolis Colts are the best team in football.

Speaker 1 So the AFC South might be the new powerhouse. I don't know if anybody wants to talk about it.
And the Buffalo Bills just happened to fall victim to that last night.

Speaker 1 And the Buffalo Bills have to figure a lot of shit out, I think, H. I think they got to figure a lot of shit out.
I think that is something that the Buffalo Bills are going to have to do.

Speaker 1 I mean, they were under attack by this Houston Texans defense. I love how they run to the ball.

Speaker 1 The amount of pressure, like, yeah, eight sacks is a gigantic number, but Josh Allen, like, he never really felt like he'd get comfortable in the pocket. He's throwing off his back foot.

Speaker 1 He's doing this all game long, no matter what. Like, I was talking to Connor before he came on air.

Speaker 1 There was a second or third down there showing and they show Will Anderson and Hunter walking on the field together and they both were like, it looked like two Terminators coming out to kill people.

Speaker 1 They looked so like awesome and intimidating and thinking like all three levels. I just love this defense honest.
I know Matt Burke, the defensive coordinator there, he's a great coach as well.

Speaker 1 But when you play defense like this, look how much fun they're all having. Like everybody on the defense is having fun.

Speaker 1 The 15, 16 guys all that rotate in and get to play in this defense, they're just itching to get in. They can't wait to get off that sideline and go make a play.

Speaker 1 And it seems like whoever they put in there, they're going to go after the quarterback. And that's where it all starts, man.
If you get penetration, good luck for opposing offenses.

Speaker 1 Great culture, feels like. Great culture on the defensive side.
And it feels like, you know, just strictly because the offense isn't great, they don't get talked about.

Speaker 1 Number one defense in the league. And AJ, you'd be able to speak to this more than me, obviously.
I just had a chance to witness it from the sideline. But whenever you got two dudes,

Speaker 1 two dudes. Okay, if you got two dudes, obviously that changes the math for the chips and who has to be where and who do you double.
You can't double everybody. That should open up for everybody else.

Speaker 1 When you got two dudes, I watched Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis, both of them, Dwight Freeny in the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 1 Robert Mathis will end up in the Hall of Fame because strip, sack, record, all the different stuff that he has. He'll end up being a Hall of Famer.
I got to watch them for like

Speaker 1 four years, five years. It was awesome.
It was a plan. It was a roster plan strategy.

Speaker 1 Hey, listen, Peyton and the boys are going to get a lead, and then we're going to let these dudes just wreck the game, basically. We're just going to let them take it over.

Speaker 1 They're going to have to drop back and pass at some point, and we're going to get them. They're going to close.
I mean, it's a special strategy if you have special dudes, and they certainly do.

Speaker 1 Casario has certainly figured it out. Last three games, 11 and a half sacks out of these two.
It's problematic for everybody. Yeah, that's problematic for everybody.

Speaker 1 If you can wreck a game on both sides of the offensive line, Yeah, you can beat anybody. And eight sacks last night for Josh Allen.
I know he's thinking to himself, like, what the hell?

Speaker 1 they still almost won that game so the bills great football team Houston Texans great football team let's go to one half of the hammer

Speaker 1 Dumpy's muted he yelled I would like everybody know we picked it up

Speaker 1 it is a sick clock a guy named Shane did that for us because underneath that thing is a

Speaker 1 is just an outlet basically and then if you go this way just a little bit

Speaker 1 oh he's dancing, he's dancing. You see him? Gotcha.
You see, who's there? You see who's right there?

Speaker 1 You see

Speaker 1 in the back living that sweet life. Is that Mr.
Boss?

Speaker 1 Boss is living the sweet life, and the president's sweet up here. We're in a great spot.
Uh, but Gumpy Hammer.

Speaker 1 Okay, uh, cowboy AP Tone. Tone, what ended up being the numbers? Who all won? And

Speaker 1 what, what, there wasn't.

Speaker 1 I didn't see a lot of people celebrating massive hits last night. Go ahead, Tone.

Speaker 4 No, 73%.

Speaker 4 You talked about it being during the show that 77, 78% were on the bills. It closed 73% on the bills.
So a little bit more came in on the Texans later before kickoff, but not too much.

Speaker 4 This was another loss for the public. And then the under hit as well, obviously, because only two field goals in the second half.

Speaker 4 It looked like it was going to fly over in the second or in the first half, which was super surprising. The very low scoring KG affair in the second half.
So the under also hit there as well.

Speaker 4 And we are off to another hot start this week for the for the books.

Speaker 1 Yeah, we are off to a hot start. I want to let you know.

Speaker 1 I'm feeling real good. As I was watching that game unfold, I'm like, hold on now, Age.
Hold on. Hey,

Speaker 1 not good for the sports books if

Speaker 1 I'm starting to just get these intuitions that are on top of it. So I wanted to let everybody know I thought it was going to carry over maybe.
I looked at this weekend slate.

Speaker 1 Didn't have any of those feels. I don't know.

Speaker 1 you know, other than other than the Colts, it feels like yesterday was just a one-time thing. I thought maybe it was gonna be, I thought it was gonna be for the rest of the season.

Speaker 1 I thought I was gonna wake up this morning, I was gonna look at that book, and I was gonna be like, Oh, talk to me, football god. What is the next one?

Speaker 1 You know, like I was starting to get very, very comfortable with myself as the fog continues to kind of bellow in

Speaker 1 my god.

Speaker 1 Now, that is uh,

Speaker 1 that could scare some people,

Speaker 1 that could freak some people out. But whenever you see this type of stuff around here, that means one thing and one thing alone.

Speaker 1 It's football season. Hell yeah, yeah.
It's 39 degrees. Can't see shit, but Otsen Stadium is going to be electrifying tomorrow.
Okay, so sportsbooks, anyways, I thought I was going to have it, H.

Speaker 1 I thought I was going to have it this morning. I thought I was going to be able to look at Sportsbook and kind of do my thing.
I thought I was going to have feeling for every single game.

Speaker 1 Only one I know is the Colts going into the Chiefs' Kingdom. Everything else, I think we got a pretty pretty good question mark next to.

Speaker 1 We'll obviously make a pick for all these games by the end of today. Have a pack show today.
We're going to have Coach Lanning from Oregon obviously on here in about 15 minutes or so.

Speaker 1 Bo Nicks will join us, quarterback for the Denver Broncos. He's doing some amazing thing.
Former quarterback here, obviously, for the Oregon Ducks. Coach Sabin will join us if he can land.
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1 I don't know if anybody lands.

Speaker 5 I was going to say that Marine layer is thick.

Speaker 1 That's good. Hey, that's good scientific lingo right there.
Jay Nardo would be pumped with what you just did. And rest in peace to him, obviously.
But yeah, it is, I think that's going to be thing.

Speaker 1 So we will monitor if Coach, I guess we'll be able to tell from right here. That's true.

Speaker 1 If we could see some trees in the next hour or so, Coach Sabin will be on a show.

Speaker 1 Because I think he's potentially

Speaker 1 circling up there, circle. Oh, no.
Can we get it? If you got Starlink, we could talk to him now. That would be very entertaining.

Speaker 1 We've talked about that. We've talked about that.

Speaker 1 He needs to get on that ASAP.

Speaker 1 Okay, so let's get to last night's game though. A couple things that we wanted to point out that we thought were cool and special.

Speaker 1 I'll tell you what, that umpire stepping in to be the white cap after white cap tears,

Speaker 1 whatever, Achilles injury, ACM, maybe, whatever the injury is. And I appreciate that he wouldn't get carted off.
He said, let me go. Let me walk off this field like others have in the past.

Speaker 1 And we will obviously wish him godspeed on his, I do not bring that card out here. No.
This white cap, these stripes cannot be seen getting carted off the field. For the ones that have come before me.

Speaker 3 Saved or caught for when I get off the field.

Speaker 1 In between these lines, I gotta drag my body in the caucus for the good of the game and wait until I get Roy Ellison, though.

Speaker 1 This man, I think Shannon Sharp said he's former teammate of his back in the day, obviously. So he's a former player, obviously had eyes on it.
He had to pick up like six different jobs.

Speaker 1 Obviously, he's the ump, then he's the white cap. Then at one point, the play clock stopped working.
So he had to say, all right, I will keep the play clock.

Speaker 1 And he has to scream that basically to people as it's kind of happening.

Speaker 1 So last night, mvp in my eyes uh the houston texas defense uh the uh the second mvp tommy thonson well absolutely perfect point third mv doggie davis mills uh fourth one domico rhines that energy that crowd fifth one this guy Zay I think he needs a white cap immediately too by the way he has the moxie to do it he felt like he was very confident the boys respected the hell out of him he's um so he's already in there it's like I think we're looking at a I think we need Roy Ellison to put on the white cap.

Speaker 1 I think he needs to be elevated. Is that not what you took away from last night as well? That's exactly what I took away.
And look at him, like, the moment was not too big.

Speaker 1 When you get called upon, when it's your opportunity, like you're a backup QB, whatever it is, make sure the moment's never too big for you. Look at him.
He came out with so much confidence.

Speaker 1 Like, he knows exactly what he's doing. We feel like we're in good hands, whether he makes good calls or not.

Speaker 1 Well, it's okay. We need him to make good calls.
Of course.

Speaker 1 Ideally, yes, you would love that.

Speaker 1 And it felt like he didn't, you know, they didn't mess up anything too bad after he became it, but you're talking about having to jumble a bunch of plates whenever you don't really know that it's going to happen.

Speaker 1 I mean, who thinks the head ref is going to blow their, like, just, I don't know if that's what happened. Has that been reported? It is.
Do we know?

Speaker 4 I thought it was awesome, though, that he was the only white hat. He had the only white hat on the crew.
He had to take off the white hat and flash it down to him.

Speaker 1 I mean, that's how it works. It's captain band, bro.
Yeah, it's a captain's band. It's a captain banner.
Yeah, just like if you're a bad man.

Speaker 1 Think how sweaty that thing probably was. You want to throw that hat on? Yeah, Yeah, you have to.

Speaker 1 You have to. In the games, the internet was super bad.
Throwing a bit of balls. They would never let that happen during COVID.
We know that. Ellison got 100%.
He had backup hats back then, I bet.

Speaker 1 Ellison got zero reps last week as a white cap. So, like, for him to come in and do that.
Oh, geez. You're telling me he got no reps as a white cap too.

Speaker 2 No, none.

Speaker 1 Good for him. None.
Good for him. He didn't watch films as a white cap.
That guy that Torres Achilles is a white cap. That guy's been referencing for, what, 100 years? I've seen that guy for so long.

Speaker 1 So him taking his hat off and saying,

Speaker 1 jerk out now. that's a big moment in football huge hat

Speaker 1 they should have made a bigger church should have made a bigger deal on the broadcast actually aj you're disgusting honestly it just no weird tradition of football unfortunately roy had to wear this sweaty hat that old buddy was wearing like p's and p's man with this achilles that adrian hill is his name adrian hill i'm sorry about that i'm sorry about your achilles but i guess yeah look at him here we go it's your hat now

Speaker 1 yes bingo which is part of football and i'm happy we got to see that and we would like to let roy know hey we hope you earn a your own white cap.

Speaker 1 I hope you get to the point where you get to take that white cap, just like they do for the CFP committee, how they put those white hats on that shit.

Speaker 1 I hope Roy gets a chance at some point to take that white cap off at his home and put that thing up there because he has certainly earned it.

Speaker 1 Also, another shout out last night I think needs to be talked about.

Speaker 1 There might be a new horse in the best mascot in the NFL race.

Speaker 1 I don't think we've given much. Obviously, we talk about Jack's him, Devil, down there in Jacksonville.

Speaker 1 This guy's a stud. He shows up in a speed-off.
Yeah, he's cheeks.

Speaker 1 Human speed-oh, actual cheeks out with the rest of the first.

Speaker 1 And he'll jump off the sky.

Speaker 1 Jacks him deville through the Jaguars down times. He's been holding it down for Duval for a long time.
Blue, obviously, with the Colts.

Speaker 1 Sensational talent. Cream pies, everybody.
Yeah, every

Speaker 1 time. Also, great athlete.
Great athlete. Throws the football from the upper deck into a garbage can every single home game.

Speaker 1 He's a weapon as well. Toro down there in Houston.
This guy's good. This guy, I don't know if you saw what he did to a Bills fan.
Let's go ahead and measure these dims, please.

Speaker 1 See if you're up for the task. Okay, obviously it's an NFL mascot.
We appreciate this. How have I here? And what's happening? This is pretty good.
Yeah, pretty good. Yo.
100% a chance.

Speaker 1 Yeah, that's good hijinks right there out of Toro. I like the fact that they kind of let that fly.
And also, shout out to the Bills fan. Yeah, you got boom.
Okay, how's that going?

Speaker 1 And then I don't know if you saw this. This guy came in from the clouds.
This guy came in from the clouds.

Speaker 1 Go ahead and film himself, confident, casual, coming in from the top of NRG Stadium, the artist formerly known as Reliance Stadium, the artist known as a Loud House down there.

Speaker 1 Not the Lodhouse, but a Loud House. Texans Toro is doing pretty good.
Saw him also have a great sign. You know, some Bills fan came down there with Bills Mafia.
He said, how about Mills Mafia?

Speaker 1 I mean, he was on it. Hey, Toro had a big night last night.
Very clever primetime game out of Toro. Would like him to be in the ranks.

Speaker 1 Con man, I just just think it needed to be said that Toro might be bringing his fastball a little bit better than everybody else.

Speaker 2 Yeah, whole entire team, really. I mean, I don't know.
They're hitting their stride right at the right time. I mean, you're talking about the team as a whole being great.
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 But when you have the guy getting the crowd hyped, I think you can't not kind of entertain the thought that without Toro, that crowd isn't as pumped. NRG Stadium isn't as rocking.

Speaker 2 That defense doesn't play as well. I mean, look at this.
You do not get this at every single stadium. I agree.
You know, Duvall, Jackson, Deville, whatever.

Speaker 2 His butt cheeks being out, that's not everybody's cup of tea. And you can even go to Blue and say, hey, Blue is fantastic, but there ain't no Air Toro, okay?

Speaker 1 There's one Toro.

Speaker 2 Toro brings the heat every single time. And there's nothing like sneaking a nutshot against a guy who's tailgating at your place, trying to bring the vibes, trying to crush tables.

Speaker 2 No, we're going to crush your nuts, brother. You're going to try and crush tables.
We'll bring it right back. Don't even think about coming into energy with that type of stadium.

Speaker 1 I've never seen that before with the whole tape measure. I thought that was brilliant also brilliant ladies and gentlemen damn lighting

Speaker 1 y'all good

Speaker 1 that's quite quite the move i'm gonna pull that out not bad right that's a good trick that does feel like a duck type move definitely the duck would do that duck is a good mask button you guys have a great mask button we got the best we got the best ah toro came down from the sky i you get this duck flying off the top of this thing you never know man you never know all right we're pitching new ideas you never know okay let's talk about the fog let's talk about the setting this is perfect i assume for you yeah i think this this really is

Speaker 1 this. Amazing.
We got late November, mid-November football here, USC coming to town, everything on the line. What is the mindset for you and your team? Go play football, man.

Speaker 3 Let's go have some fun. I mean, you're blessed to get to do what we get to do.

Speaker 3 This is what you're excited for. Top 20 matchup right here.
Everybody's paying attention. It's time to go execute.

Speaker 1 Okay, last time we were here, obviously. Okay.

Speaker 1 We know how it went. Not

Speaker 1 hot. No, it's time to get back to work.
I don't like that. I don't like that that happened.

Speaker 3 I love how it hurts you, like when when you're like, ah, I picked the other team and it didn't work.

Speaker 1 It does. It does.
But I just knew at that stage of where teams were.

Speaker 1 I live in Indianapolis, so I see this team. Like, I saw what that team was.

Speaker 3 He didn't give me any heads up.

Speaker 1 You didn't want to give me any heads up. Hey, Fernando's really good, dude.

Speaker 1 You need to know this. But I thought that team had come along very quickly.
I thought, like, they developed and matured as a team early in the season. And I think not a lot of people knew that.

Speaker 1 So that's why at that time, against you guys, I thought that. Your team from them till now is seemingly.

Speaker 1 Did you like the loss?

Speaker 1 Oh, I never like losses.

Speaker 3 That's BS. But do I think we grew from the loss? Absolutely.
You know, we've improved since then. You know, they're a really good team.
There's no doubt about that. But we're not the same team either.

Speaker 3 And I'm sure they're not.

Speaker 3 But we're not playing them. We're playing SC.
So it's time to get ready for those boys.

Speaker 1 Okay, so what do you see from them? Obviously, Lincoln Riley always going to have a great offense.

Speaker 3 Yeah, yeah, they do an unbelievable job on offense. They're really balanced when it comes to being able to run the ball and throw the ball.

Speaker 3 You get to see them play a gritty game against Iowa last week where they bang heads a little bit and then obviously Lemon came out in the second half and was dominant. So they've got great wideouts.

Speaker 3 They do a good job changing the picture on defense. So it's a great challenge for us.

Speaker 1 AJ has a question for you back in Big Ten Country, Indianapolis, Indiana. AJ, hit me.
Good to see you, coach. I was going to ask something about your team and learning about what your players do best.

Speaker 1 We can get to that, but first off, are you left-handed? When you took your shirt off on game day with Pat, you saved a little wound to the crowd. You're not left-handed.

Speaker 3 Okay, well, I had to ask you. No, no, no, no, but when I'm taking my clothes off, I'm amodextrous.
But normally, just right-handed.

Speaker 1 No, so at the end here, you take your undershirt off. By the way, thank you for doing this.
And the amount of pain your bride's tattoo tells you how much I love her, huh? Yes.

Speaker 1 I think none of us were expecting that much

Speaker 1 on that part of your body that hurts. So you, dominant hand.

Speaker 3 Dominant right.

Speaker 1 Dominant hand took the shirt off.

Speaker 3 Right, but declothing, amidextrous.

Speaker 1 You're saying you couldn't, you could have gone lefty there. Yeah,

Speaker 1 I'm talented with my clothes off. Okay,

Speaker 1 we saw that. I thought you were as well.
But you take it off, and then you felt in the moment you had to do the left-handed because that's what AJ saw.

Speaker 3 Go back. I don't know a lot about that moment right there.
I mean, it didn't work. So I'm not, tomorrow I'm not going to be taking my clothes off.

Speaker 1 What? I don't think it was the moment. The moment worked.
Did you hear the crowd? The crowd was great.

Speaker 3 But I do have a little superstition. It's like, okay, tried that.
Didn't work. You know, so I'll probably, you know, just before we get to that part tomorrow, you were already picking yourself up.

Speaker 1 Take your pants off. I got to go get it.

Speaker 1 You can't take your pants off online.

Speaker 3 Maybe I didn't take enough off.

Speaker 1 What tattoos does he have, Don? I mean, we're both. I've got more tats than you realize.
I got some hidden tats. Both quads, elephant strong.

Speaker 1 Especially with.

Speaker 1 Okay, what would you say, characterize,

Speaker 1 like the, I don't know, how do I say this? Like, if we were to describe your football team, I think with you at the coach, we'd always say, like, the defense is going to hunt.

Speaker 1 There's going to be dogs everywhere. Great.
Is that how you would describe this team? Like, how do you think this team is taking shape and what is kind of their story, if you will?

Speaker 3 Our identity. I mean, I hope people watch us and they say they're relentless, right? In all phases, right? We're a team that plays for each other.
I hope you see love and connection.

Speaker 3 Like, that's something we want to see show up.

Speaker 3 And then, you know, the kind of team that wants to drag you to deep water and choke you out. So,

Speaker 3 you know,

Speaker 3 that's the thought process behind us.

Speaker 1 Okay, I like that.

Speaker 1 Hey, going in deep water is where I don't want to be, especially with people that hail from this particular part of the world. It is beautiful out here.
Unbelievable. Okay.
I will say that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 The only reason I come out here is because of you.

Speaker 3 I appreciate you, man. Yeah, the

Speaker 1 tourism board. I think we all only come out here because of you.
And we are, well, and your team. The Ducks, man.
Yeah, the Ducks. That's amazing.
Getting out here is beautiful.

Speaker 1 Right now we can't see it because of the fog. But whenever you get people.

Speaker 3 It's going to break before the show is done. You're going to see, it's going to get better.

Speaker 1 We saw it earlier. Okay.
It's coming out. Oh, it's coming out.
Yeah, yeah. So it's actually.
That's kind of what's kind of cool about it. Yeah, yeah, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 Selling this place, I think, is a big deal. Getting people here, obviously, is a part of it.
Then once they get here, selling it.

Speaker 1 Oregon, obviously, everybody knows the Nike background and the history in sports, the investment in sports. But it's also like it's different with how beautiful the place.
You're in a postcard.

Speaker 1 How much of that kind of works to your benefit? And what are kind of the selling points of Oregon?

Speaker 3 Well, you said it. I mean, ultimately, for me, it's about picking best, not most convenient.
And this place offers something that doesn't exist anywhere else in sports.

Speaker 3 And yeah, it's the hour and a half from the coast. It's an hour from the mountains.
It's a place to go and become the best version of yourself without distractions, right?

Speaker 3 We're not in the middle of the big city. You drive to works the same day, same every single day.
You're not going to beat courtside at a Lakers game or at a young Jeezy concert every night.

Speaker 3 You're going to be focused on football, becoming a great student, becoming

Speaker 3 a great player. And I think that's what this place sells.

Speaker 3 You want to go somewhere where you're not going to have the distractions, you're going to have the opportunity to grow, build unbelievable connections with people all over the world.

Speaker 3 This is that place.

Speaker 1 Yeah, there's great connections, obviously, here, and you've certainly proved that you can take guys and put them into the next level and have a lot of success. Your resume, quickly, how old are you?

Speaker 3 39. Aging quick.
Jesus Christ.

Speaker 3 My wife was making fun of my beard last night. See how gray? Showing up?

Speaker 3 Is that the secret? Is that what you?

Speaker 1 It's all gray. Yeah, I'm 38.

Speaker 3 If I shaved, my face would look super fat.

Speaker 1 So

Speaker 1 it wouldn't.

Speaker 1 Science or what? You know what science I'm talking about. Oh, no, no, I'm not doing that science.

Speaker 1 It'll give you a jawline. Really? Yeah, look at this thing.
I've never had one either.

Speaker 1 I'm Irish. Thank you.
Yeah, I'm Irish. This thing comes right here normally.
Grab a little science. Thank you, 2025.
Thank you to all these people.

Speaker 1 All of a sudden, we're shaving our face obviously you know what I mean that's you have a good jawline in there strong jawline yeah yeah I got a good job football season though I don't know if you need to be taking any science you got a lot of boys no no science for me really tone has a question for you coach yeah coach I also have some grays and look like shit when I shave my face so I feel you there

Speaker 1 you are rushing for double-edged sword man what do we do

Speaker 4 that wasn't even intentional that wasn't even intentional yes it was okay all right coach you're rushing for like 235 a game I believe in your second second in the nation in yards per carry.

Speaker 4 When you started this season, did you envision that's how your team would be built going through the run?

Speaker 4 And then also, I wanted to ask you about the bye week because you came out out of the bye week a little banged up. Did you guys just beat the shit out of each other during the bye week?

Speaker 3 Yeah, great question. We want to be a team that can beat you multiple ways, right? We want to be a team that can beat you on the ground and beat you in the air.

Speaker 3 You know, you have a lot of different strengths. I think high school coaches are the best in the world at saying, okay, what do you have available and how do you use it? We want to be that team.

Speaker 3 And we can beat you with running. We can beat you with

Speaker 3 in the air attack. And ultimately, I think you have to fit off the skill set of your players.

Speaker 3 I don't think anybody in the nation right now uses more running backs than we do, tight ends than we do, personnel groups. So we have a lot of variety and I think that makes us really hard to defend.

Speaker 3 As far as beating each other up, we're physical. It's a game that requires physicality.
What's weird about some of the injuries we've had, a lot of them have been non-contact. So

Speaker 3 it is what it is.

Speaker 1 That's the sport of football.

Speaker 3 But strength and numbers has shown up for us. And we always say, next man up, got to be ready to roll.

Speaker 1 And we've had some guys do a great job stepping up next man up is obviously a mantra that a lot of football teams carry because there is going to be injuries regardless your mantras week to week though are pretty legendary.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 Do you will we learn

Speaker 1 Phil post-game maybe? Is this one sweet?

Speaker 3 Is this a no that's nothing special man.

Speaker 1 What? Look it's

Speaker 1 motivation's overrated. Motivation's overrated.
I'm learning that. I think you're one of the best motivators.
I think that is like one of the separators for you as a human, don't you think?

Speaker 3 I think our players is the separator for me. What they go out there and they do on the field, yeah, I want to light the fire,

Speaker 3 spark it a little bit for them, but you know, that wears off. You got to go out and execute.
And our guys have done an unbelievable job of executing.

Speaker 3 Certainly, we have a message this week, and it's going to be fun to see it all play out.

Speaker 1 It's fun to watch your leadership style. Actually, Ty has a question for you about that.
Yeah. What's up, Ty?

Speaker 5 Coach, first and foremost, I don't know if you've had the opportunity yet, but if you want to thank that jackass Kirk Herbstreet for

Speaker 1 really blowing up the Iowa Oregon game, I sent an apology to Paz.

Speaker 1 I knew, Ty, that would bother you.

Speaker 3 Can you at least give me a little Lou Holtz question here before it's all set up?

Speaker 1 You know what?

Speaker 6 Yes, I can.

Speaker 7 Listen, coach,

Speaker 7 I don't think I've ever seen anyone do this, but during that Iowa game, you're getting pissed on in the rain and you got a cotton sweatshirt on. I'm thinking, Jesus Christ, is this guy a psychopath?

Speaker 7 But I am curious, when did you kind of adopt that mantra and say, hey, you know what?

Speaker 6 Fuck the raid gear. I don't need that garbage.

Speaker 7 I'm going to be in the shape stuff that my boys are in because I want to show them: hey, listen, I'm in the fight with you guys. I would like to say, though, so I'm just curious.

Speaker 7 When did you start doing that? But also, Coach, it's getting late in the season. It's getting cold.
I can't have you getting pneumonia and missing a goddamn game. So maybe just think about that.

Speaker 7 But I am curious about when that tactic started because I love it. I wish I would have been doing that in South Bed 20 years ago.

Speaker 1 Coach, Coach, thank you.

Speaker 3 It's an honor to get a question from you.

Speaker 3 Yeah, I don't know. I've always kind of been that way.
You know, you might catch me at practice, rip a top off just so these guys can know: hey, look, it's not bad. Let's go play ball.

Speaker 3 So that's kind of always been my mindset. You know, I came in the locker room at the Iowa game, and there was like this little contraption that was supposed to be like a heat warmer or something.

Speaker 3 It's like, what's this? A microphone? You guys got the mic, the microphone?

Speaker 3 You know, mic'd up? They're like, no, no, no, Coach, you could wear that in your gear. I was like, hey, man, mama didn't raise no bitch.

Speaker 1 I'm not wearing that.

Speaker 3 so uh yeah we don't put it i don't know it's it's just like as close as i can get to it you know and and not be um in the action with these guys yeah being in the fight though yeah you know like that's a that's a thing and also maybe at some point i'm like oh guys it's it's too bad

Speaker 1 lou holtz age i think you should yeah yeah yeah but at that point i'm sure i'll start putting a jacket on at some point how about lou holtz though just finding some real inspiration almost from you he said he's one of the goats he said if he could go back he would take from you is that what he said ty is that what ty lou holtz said is that what he said yeah absolutely you know i was wearing

Speaker 7 the bunny ears over my, you know, I had to make a shot. I tell you what, one thing Coach Lou doesn't want to be on the sideline is Colts.
That's what, you know, he starts being a mean cuss.

Speaker 7 He may be, you know, taking some players off the field, you know, start getting a little distracted. But, you know, Coach Lou ain't a hard ass like Dan Lanning is.

Speaker 1 That's maybe something he could adopt if he could go back.

Speaker 1 Hey, Coach, what do you think of Dan Lanning? If you had to give like a descriptor on what type of coach he is from the outside looking in?

Speaker 7 Mean cuss. I'd say he's the cut.
You know, I had the thing with Jimmy Joshua back in the day. He said, forget the damn football game.

Speaker 7 I'll be sitting in the parking lot and I'll beat the shit out of you myself.

Speaker 7 I tell you what, I wouldn't be saying that to Dan Laning if I was getting ready to play an Oregon Ducks football team because that dumb bitch would knock me out real quick.

Speaker 1 That's right, coach. That's right, coach.
And I think you'd be able to hold your own maybe at your younger age because you are a little holes, but you're right. Madman.

Speaker 1 And this tattoo says he's willing to just sit in the fire. That's like, AJ, that's the...
The the most painful spot, right? It's got to be the most painful spot.

Speaker 1 And yours goes from like arm pit to waist.

Speaker 3 Yeah, it's a funny story. You know, they asked you, you want the cream?

Speaker 1 I'm like, no, I don't want no cream.

Speaker 3 They started kind of in the bottom, and that's where my wife's tatas are. And I was about to walk out there with just a set of, hey,

Speaker 1 you can't be snugging. I was about to have two

Speaker 3 almost on my side, and I'm going out of this bad boy. But, you know,

Speaker 3 six hours later, it was worth it, man. She didn't know I was doing it.
So when I walked in, she was kind of pissed off. But, you know,

Speaker 1 she's amazing to me.

Speaker 3 Yeah, she's got her claim. You know, it's like she staked her territory.

Speaker 1 Absolutely. But the commitment out of you, that is very painful.
But let's get back to ball, shall we? AJ has a question for you about your team. Oh, Joyce.

Speaker 1 You were talking about, actually, I want to pivot quick to the motivation situation. Who motivates you? Who do you look for? Is there anyone you talk to that gets you juiced?

Speaker 1 I'm sure every game you always want to have a plan and what you're going to do, how you're going to approach it. But who motivates you?

Speaker 3 I mean, just the opportunity more than anything. It's not necessarily a person.
You know, your kids, right? The players that you coach for. Just the chance to get up and get to do what I do every day.

Speaker 3 I think I'm really lucky. Anybody that gets to be in this profession, yes, there's some headaches that exist.

Speaker 3 But to get to do what we do, if you don't take advantage of that and recognize that opportunity, I never want to waste it. So,

Speaker 3 yeah, pretty self-motivated, I guess I'd say, in that area.

Speaker 1 How long have you been coaching? I remember the story goes, you drove to Pitt, I think, right, from Arizona to get your first gimmick. And then how long has it been now?

Speaker 3 Since 2008.

Speaker 3 I coached high school football first. Been in college since 2011.

Speaker 1 Okay, so the business of football, obviously you don't have NFL experience or anything like that, but now you are in the epicenter of the business of college football, the change of college football.

Speaker 1 Your name, also, we would like to say, isn't even really getting brought up at places. Shouldn't.

Speaker 1 I think that's sick. We actually pointed that out.
I think that is not being talked about at all.

Speaker 1 Your name is not being mentioned for any of these jobs because of how open you've said the grass is damn green here. But also, business-wise, you have to deal with a lot, I think, right?

Speaker 1 Everybody talks about that, but managing all of it, how have you kind of evolved in that world, and how hands-on are you in that world? Yeah, certainly involved.

Speaker 3 I think as a head coach, you want to be involved in every part of your program.

Speaker 3 Lucky to have some great people around that support me and allow us to be able to do what we do, and then also some people that I trust within our program that can attack, you know, and ultimately, you want to maintain the focus.

Speaker 3 Every piece matters. It's not one thing in your program that matters, but if you can be involved in all of it and trust people, like hire people you trust, you're going to have success.

Speaker 1 All right, Connor has a question for you about this weekend. Go ahead, Con, man.

Speaker 2 Yeah, coach, real quick back on the mascot uh the orange oregon duck isn't really up there just because he's all politics if you could pull up the door dash ad uh the oregon duck actually forced his way onto the door dash l wrap he's all politics you can see his little right arm there holding a piece of pizza so don't ever even think about throwing him in the same category as jackson deville you know toro and blue oh let's forget about that

Speaker 1 because he's making money with a pizza advice oh yeah yeah that's what everyone says about organizing

Speaker 2 that's what everyone tell about organ Hey, we need the mascot to bring in money. Phil Knight and everybody else aren't writing enough blank checks, but let's forget about that.

Speaker 1 This is my favorite team. I can tell there's somebody who's wrong.

Speaker 1 Look,

Speaker 2 I consider myself a mascot aficionado, so I want to keep it real. Don't even get me started on the Atlanta Braves blooper.
That guy talks way too much. Stick to the gimmick.
The duck is great, though.

Speaker 2 All politics. Way too much from the duck.
He's doing too much. You've only been talking about the players.
The duck's all about himself. It's ridiculous.
But again, hey, that's your camp.

Speaker 1 You can get your camp in order if you want to.

Speaker 1 Connor, the head fell off. The duck lost its head.
Bingo, yeah, exactly. You can't be on the bend right now.

Speaker 2 You can't be showing your face everywhere, acting like you're the talk of the town, and then running out and having your head fall off. That is ridiculous.
That is Bush League.

Speaker 1 That is the exact reason why the duck isn't in the NFL. There is a difference in the duck.

Speaker 2 There's a difference in the football, not just the mascots. But let's talk about Oregon USC.
Let's forget about the duck.

Speaker 1 Okay. Oregon USC, I feel like.

Speaker 2 For the duck to bet For people right now, I don't think Oregon USC strikes them as like a rivalry.

Speaker 2 You guys have been at the top of college football for a long time, and USC has had their ups and downs.

Speaker 2 Can you just talk about that rivalry and kind of what it means to you, Gene, with USC coming to town?

Speaker 2 Because I, for one, game day going there a second time, I'm worried about the, you know, the juice of the entire thing, game day, the stadium, everything like that.

Speaker 2 that but can you talk about how fired up these people are to kind of go in there cheer on their ducks against a real rival rival, USC.

Speaker 3 Yeah, we got unbelievable fans. They're going to bring on the juice.
And, you know, it's kind of neat.

Speaker 3 As the Pac-12 broke up, the fact that a lot of us moved into the Big Ten, it's really kept a lot of those things alive.

Speaker 3 A lot of things that exist about West Coast teams getting the opportunity to compete against in this great conference. And this is certainly one of those games, right? Getting to play against USC.

Speaker 3 But our fans will bring it. I'm not worried about that.
They got juice. They always do.

Speaker 3 You doubt it?

Speaker 1 No.

Speaker 1 Nope. You'll see them.
Why'd you pay off?

Speaker 3 You know, they'll bring the juice.

Speaker 1 Every time I come out here for one of these shows, game day,

Speaker 1 I am blown away by your fans. They're awesome, man.
Dude, legit. It's so early in the morning.
Yeah. So loud.
Nocturnal, man.

Speaker 1 It feels like you kind of...

Speaker 1 And then there's a topa thing happening because Animal House.

Speaker 1 It's a special family. We were just here, though, like three weeks ago, it felt like, and it's special.
Obviously, everybody's excited to be there.

Speaker 1 Speaking of being here, ladies and gentlemen, the quarterback for the Denver Broncos, Bo Nixon. How about that?

Speaker 1 Big weekend. Big weekend.
Bo, what's up? Bo, Bo. What's going on, dude? Let me let me see if we can get you to get in here.
Let me get you in here. What up, Bo? We got to get close.

Speaker 1 We got to get close. Hey, coach, hey, you know, I'm no C.
Good, man. We just talked the other day, and then you went and beat my Chiefs, man.
Well done.

Speaker 1 Well, somebody else is about to beat your Chiefs this weekend.

Speaker 1 Hey, Bo, real quick, can you talk before we let him go back to his job, obviously, huge game this weekend, about kind of what an Oregon team or a program is like with him as your coach?

Speaker 1 He feels like one of the most electrifying humans we've ever been around, obviously.

Speaker 8 He is, and he doesn't fake it when he gets on screen. This is what you get at all times, and he's one of the best coaches in America, in my opinion.
And he helped me get to where I am today.

Speaker 8 I owe him a lot.

Speaker 8 But obviously, I'd be saying the same stuff if he wasn't on the program with us. But I love Coach Lanning.

Speaker 8 We had a great two-year run together, and I wish I could run it back any day.

Speaker 1 We love you, buddy.

Speaker 3 Appreciate you, man. Keep balling.

Speaker 1 Appreciate you, too.

Speaker 3 Y'all should see Pat run this show from up here.

Speaker 1 He's got all these buttons on him, but it's impressive, man. Come on, come on, man.
We're just doing this figure. I appreciate you.

Speaker 3 Got a little gear for you over here.

Speaker 1 Oh, you're the man. Thank you for that.

Speaker 1 Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you. We love you.
Ladies and gentlemen, Dan Land,

Speaker 1 they're clapping for you. So you know that.
They're clapping for you. They're clapping for you.

Speaker 1 Bo, hey, sorry, brother. That was perfect, actually.
I'm happy you got a chance. Hold on, let me perfect timing.

Speaker 8 I needed to holler at Coach real quick anyway.

Speaker 1 That was good.

Speaker 1 What did you want to say to him? Dude, do you want to get anything from me? You need some more Oregon gear? They just brought me a box. I can ship it your way if you need it.

Speaker 8 Hey, listen, they take care of us just fine. We got all the gear we need.
Trust me.

Speaker 1 I know. Yeah, it seems like that's kind of been the story about Oregon way before the NIO era.
Always had the greatest gear. This place is special.

Speaker 1 There's a fog happening right now behind me that is absolutely outrageous and doing some numbers to our cameras currently. So we appreciate you kind of dodge, duck, dip, diving, and dodging with us.

Speaker 1 Let's talk about you. So we had Sean Payton on the show the night you were drafted during our draft spectacular, and he couldn't stop talking about how it was like love at first meet with you.

Speaker 1 Obviously, he loved the film, but then once he started talking to you, the person, it was like an instant connection. What was that from your side? Did you feel that as well?

Speaker 1 Because there's obviously AJ got drafted number five overall. Obviously, he got drafted high.
I got picked 222, you know. So we're kind of in the same boat here.

Speaker 1 But whenever, like, there's some teams you feel a better connection with. There's some coaches you feel a better connection and you're like hoping for.

Speaker 1 Is that something that happened with Sean Payton? And don't feel obligated to say yes, even though you kind of of are in this moment.

Speaker 1 But what are your thoughts of like from Sean Payton meeting him to now?

Speaker 8 Well, I loved our visit.

Speaker 8 When he came out to Eugene, we were able to sit down and, you know, really go through an hour-long, you know, a couple hour-long meeting talking football with him and Davis, my quarterback coach now.

Speaker 8 And, you know, we just literally went through an install and we talked a lot about football, where it originated, how he got it.

Speaker 8 And we watched some video along with it, watched him on my my stuff, how it compared. And I always knew we had a, you know, just similar background, similar style.
He likes the quick aim.

Speaker 8 He likes the shots. And obviously, I love throwing the football.
So for me, it was, you know, it was all about going to a place to be with a coach that, in my opinion,

Speaker 8 had so much knowledge and so much experience that I could learn from. And that's exactly what I got with coach.
And then I think underrated is Davis Webb, my quarterback coach. He's just,

Speaker 8 he's always prepared me extremely well, especially from the get-go. You know, he played the position and, you know, know what it's like to walk into a game.

Speaker 8 And so he prepares me on a very good level, and we're always, you know, ready for the task at hand.

Speaker 1 I love to hear that about you and your coaches. Your coaches feel the same exact way about you.
That's a beautiful thing. That means you're an absolute dog on the field and off the field.

Speaker 1 We respect and appreciate that, especially with the future of the NFL being in your hands.

Speaker 1 From last year to this year, going into the season, okay, going into the season, you guys were like Super Bowl darlings by everybody.

Speaker 1 And it was always because how good the defense is, this defense, this defense, this defense can win. Sean Payton going to be good on offense is how everybody just kind of views Sean Payton.

Speaker 1 For you, from last year to this year, whole different ballgame, understanding what NFL defenses are doing, understanding what your offense is. Like, how do you describe last year versus this year?

Speaker 1 And you guys obviously up and to the right, brother. Congratulations on all the hard work.

Speaker 8 Well, thank you. But it definitely, one starts with a defense.
In this league, league, you got to be able to stop people.

Speaker 8 And it comes down to the end so many times to where we just feel comfortable with our defense that they're going to go out there and get a stop no matter what happens.

Speaker 8 They rush the passer at an all-time,

Speaker 8 you know, effective way. And they do a great job downfield, covering guys and make open field tackles.
A lot of erasers on that defense. So we know at all times you're going to have to stop people.

Speaker 8 And if you can stop people, that's the name of the game. And offensively, we're,

Speaker 8 you know, at times we've been great this year.

Speaker 8 At times, we've struggled, but I think when it matters most, we know how to go down there and just finish out the game and do what we need to do to close it out.

Speaker 8 And, you know, it's not always an easy, you know, four quarters. Everybody acts like we're great in the fourth quarter, but I just think we're great at finishing the football game.

Speaker 8 And, you know, we have timely possessions where we score points, we score touchdowns, we get a field goal, whatever it may be. We tend to go down there and do it.

Speaker 8 But at the same time, you know, we've done it for a couple weeks now in a row, but we still got to continue on this track and continue this

Speaker 8 role we're on. But it's not going to be easy.
We've got a really tough schedule down the stretch here.

Speaker 8 And, you know, we just got to find ways to continue to close out these close football games that we've been in.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I think closing out games and winning games is a trait that great teams have. And obviously, you have five fourth quarter comebacks this season that's tied for the most alongside the Bears.

Speaker 1 That's some hembo stats for you.

Speaker 1 It feels like we're just watching Will Lutz kind of come out and win games alongside every other kicker that is in a winning position and on a winning team i i uh i want to let you know bo

Speaker 5 you're fun to watch and we've seen a lot of you ty has a question for you yeah bo just curious you know now with the way college football is we we a lot of times guys you know they'll have one prolific year and then they're going to the nfl and getting drafted high but with guys like you and you know brock purdy comes to mind too like a big talking point is these guys are so ready to play in the league because they started so much in college.

Speaker 5 Do you feel like that was the case with you, that you were kind of just ready to take that baton and run with it because you had so much experience playing college? Obviously, the NFL is next level.

Speaker 5 You have to improve and learn, but how ready did you feel like you were when you got into the NFL?

Speaker 8 I feel like I was as ready as I could be, but at the same time, the NFL is, I mean, it's its own league.

Speaker 8 It's its own thing to where you have to get some experience in that before you feel like you're super ready and prepared to go in each and every game.

Speaker 8 But I think playing as much as you can in college is only going to help a collegiate athlete and it's only going to help for the future. And so a lot of these guys that

Speaker 8 are making decisions, I think there's nothing wrong with going back and doing it again. And

Speaker 8 being in college, learning from your coaches, learning from experience and seeing defenses over and over and being in different types of games and having different types of outcomes.

Speaker 8 I just don't think that's a bad thing. And I think in the grand scheme of things, when you look at myself, Jaden,

Speaker 8 you know, all of us that spent a lot of time in college,

Speaker 8 you know, it's just showed up and we've been able to,

Speaker 8 it's shown and it's, you know, it's allowed us to grow, I think, as younger players and have some success early.

Speaker 1 What's your DIMS? What's your DIMS?

Speaker 1 What's your dimension? Sorry. You feel like you're a bit of a stout individual.
Are you? i'm thinking

Speaker 8 first of all i didn't know where you were going with dims there

Speaker 8 i was uh gonna have to ask what that meant but i'm glad you clarified i'm 6'2 215 so i feel like there's so many of us in the league that are around 6'2 6'3 6'10 or uh 210 to 225 230.

Speaker 8 i feel like we all fall in that category and i'm right there in the middle

Speaker 1 Okay, so they use that for traits whenever they're scouting guys and everything like that, but I think it matters. You have to be a little bit bigger to take some of the hits.

Speaker 1 Have you transformed how you kind of came into this season versus last year after taking some of the hits from grown-ass men? Has that changed anything with you and how your body is?

Speaker 8 That's a great question. I focus this offseason on maximizing,

Speaker 8 and it sounds crazy, but maximizing how athletic I think I can be and

Speaker 8 not neglecting that and just being able to run as fast as I possibly can and be able to move as quick as I can. And I mean, the size is always going to, you know, be there.

Speaker 8 And I feel like, you know, 215 for my frame is, is plenty. I can get up to, you know, 220.
And it's like, you know, I don't feel much of a difference. But I think the strength is there.

Speaker 8 And I think at this point in your career,

Speaker 8 you know, with the college strength and conditioning program where you worried about strength, I think now with, I mean, because everybody in the league is athletic.

Speaker 8 If you can move away from people, if you can run, if you can try to avoid some guys and run for a first down, I think that's where defenses, you know, they can't stand it.

Speaker 8 So, a lot of us, you know, going into the league, if you look at a lot of the guys in the league right now,

Speaker 8 up and coming, the guys that are just showing up, I think the ability to escape is what sets guys apart. You know, you've seen Patrick do it for forever now.
Josh does it at a high level.

Speaker 8 Obviously, Josh is, you know, different size than all of us. He's bigger than every single one of us, it feels like.

Speaker 8 But there's still an element of moving and getting away from the blitz and the pressures and being able to extend plays that I think just gives defenses a hard time.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I think everybody has to move nowadays. They're strictly pocket quarterbackies of days past.

Speaker 1 I think that's just natural evolution of athleticism amongst males potentially, and especially in sport of football.

Speaker 1 I don't know. I don't know.
I don't immediately think it. You guys need to stop taking hits, though, okay? You guys need to stop taking hits.
You big athletic guys. Hey, we're so super athletic.
Okay.

Speaker 1 Well, get your ass out of bounds or get down. Okay.
Because our league depends on you. All right.
So you need to know that.

Speaker 1 My livelihood, my happiness, okay, my daughter, I love her, my family, love my family, I will get happiness from my family, okay? But my happiness comes from NFL football.

Speaker 1 And you assholes, okay, you super athletics now, new quarterbacks, are need to just, let's not be as alpha all the time, okay? Let's just not take hits because we need you, okay?

Speaker 1 These eyes need you out there, all right? You got that?

Speaker 8 I got it. And trust me, there's nobody that wants to avoid these big shots more than me.

Speaker 1 No, me, I think it's me.

Speaker 1 Now, granted, now, yeah, Sean Payton probably as well. Sorry, okay, let's talk about the youth of your team, seemingly.
Go ahead, Tone.

Speaker 4 Yeah, Bo, I want to obviously everybody knows Cortland Sutton, he's been in the league for a long time, he's been great for a long time.

Speaker 4 But your other wide receivers, Pat Bryant's a rookie, Troy Franklin, second year, he's only 22 years old. Marvin Mims, I believe, is only 23 years old, too.

Speaker 4 Obviously, you being young and coming in with these guys and building with this guy, with these guys, is it exciting?

Speaker 4 Because you know that you're all so young and that you can continue just to keep getting better

Speaker 8 absolutely it's uh

Speaker 8 um

Speaker 8 you know being young is a great thing but it's also you know in the league they don't really wait on you so you got to you know mature as as quick as you can but we have a very you know all those guys that you just um you know listed they're extremely mature they're great football players and they're only going to get better um in this you know in during the season and then in their careers but it's i think it's good that we're all learning together and uh we know that there's sort of a um

Speaker 8 hurry to get better. It's like as fast as you can get better, especially in this situation we're in, you know, going, you know, leading, you know, our division and playing really good football,

Speaker 8 the urgency to even get better is there. And, you know, it's great to have younger guys.
They got all have, you know, fresh legs. They can run all day.

Speaker 8 They're eager. They're excited.
They show up to work each and every day.

Speaker 8 And I think they're just very competitive dudes that, you know, we all just want to show up and do whatever we can to win.

Speaker 8 And right now we're, you know, we're doing that. Now there's a lot of room to grow.
And, you know, we can just watch over and over things that we can get better at.

Speaker 8 But I think that's the fun part of football.

Speaker 1 Yeah, you guys are number one team in the AFC. Okay.
You said, yeah, we're leading the division, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You're in their number one team in the AFC.

Speaker 1 Yes, above the quotes.

Speaker 1 I actually had to have them pull this graphic up from my little monitor here to see where exactly we were sitting and where they were sitting because I wanted to talk shit immediately.

Speaker 1 And then I was sharing this graphic. It's like, okay, Broncos number one team in the AFC.
Everybody needs to relax. Okay.
Everybody needs to show them their respect as they should.

Speaker 1 Speaking of respect, your teammates are showing you a lot of respect. Go ahead, Con Man.

Speaker 2 Yeah, Bo, a lot of us are prisoners of the moment, and I would definitely throw myself in that category. So I

Speaker 2 apologize if you've ever seen any of my tweets about you. I take them all back, especially after your unbelievable performance against the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 It feels like you have kind of silenced all the doubters. And Adam Trotman gave a great post-game just about people who do talk crazy about you.

Speaker 2 And, you know, you go out and have that performance and it's unbelievable and you beat the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 And then the conversation this week is more so about the Chiefs losing and the Broncos, you know, going out there and getting a massive win.

Speaker 2 Do you guys have that bunker mentality within the, you know, the building where, hey, everybody else can talk about whatever the hell they want. We're 9-2.
We're the one seed.

Speaker 2 At the end of the day, that is indisputable. They can't really say anything about that.
How is the team when it comes to that mentality?

Speaker 2 And does this feel like one of the closest teams you've ever been on?

Speaker 8 We actually do talk about how close our team is.

Speaker 8 You know, we just got a lot of

Speaker 8 young guys. I mean, I think our oldest guys are year eight, year nine.
So we're just all in similar stages of life. I think that's what makes us close.
But

Speaker 8 we also know what it was like last year. We know what it was like to lose some of these close games.
And so we have turned some of those around.

Speaker 8 We have had a better record in close football games this year. But I do think it just goes back to the, you know, the confidence and the belief of the team.
We believe that we can win these games.

Speaker 8 We're not going up. And, you know, I feel like last year, sometimes we like didn't expect or didn't think we were going to find a way to win at the end.

Speaker 8 And then after a couple of those games this year that went our way, we just kind of felt like, hey, guys, we... We got this.
We can win these close games.

Speaker 8 We got really good defense that we can lean on. We got offensive playmakers that are going to make plays when time comes.
And then Will's done a great job in clutch time.

Speaker 8 And so when you look at our team, look at how close we are, we just know what it can be like on the other side. So we don't try to get too focused up in the, you know, the narrative or the perception.

Speaker 8 That can go so many different ways.

Speaker 8 You were exactly right. And,

Speaker 8 you know, it's all about the moment. We get so stuck in the moment where in another week, people will be saying something totally different.

Speaker 8 So we try not to get. too caught up in the chaos of what's going on outside.
We just try to live within our building and go to work every day, find ways to get better.

Speaker 8 There's so many

Speaker 8 on clips or out there that lists the things that we have to, you know, grow and get better at. And I think that's also what's keeping us a little bit urgent and hungry.

Speaker 8 We know we have these things to get better at. And so we won't, we don't really have time to sit around and act like we've,

Speaker 8 you know, made it because we really haven't. We're just, you know, we're winning close games and that's what's put us in this situation right now.

Speaker 1 Hell yeah, Bo. Hey, I don't know if you know this, man, or not, but it's a compliment when I say this.
And I think a lot of people will take it the same way.

Speaker 1 I don't want you to take it any other way you sound exactly like Kevin O'Connell when you're speaking and that's good not bad every answer you give is like of a leadership what you're hoping for your quarterback to be and we appreciate the hell out of you I want to give you a nice shot here of these trees to maybe take you back to your time and Eugene and maybe get a little feeling as they test the sky cam for tomorrow's massive game against USC here at Autson.

Speaker 1 We appreciate the hell out of you, Bo. Good luck the rest of the way.
Stay healthy.

Speaker 8 Thank you so much for having me today. And by the way, go, Ducks.
They're going to get it done.

Speaker 1 What's the final score? What's scored? What's the score?

Speaker 8 I think Dante and the boys, they'll put up 31 points, and our defense will hold them to 17. It'll be 31-17, both.

Speaker 1 It's pretty good. Near the man.
Ladies and gentlemen, colleagues.

Speaker 1 Don't give up 17.

Speaker 4 They will be mad, though.

Speaker 1 All right, respect.

Speaker 1 We appreciate you, Bo. We're back on the other side.

Speaker 1 Football! Football! It's what's happening. Audson Stadium with a beautiful view.
There you go, Pat. I see you.
Look, the fog rolls out, and here we are.

Speaker 1 You're in a new place, it seems like.

Speaker 1 Yeah, the fog rolls in, the fog rolls out. It's ball season.
Let's all ball out. So I think the good news about what has taken place this morning is we got the eeriness of Eugene Oregon in there.

Speaker 1 Kind of set the scene for what USC is going to have to walk into tomorrow.

Speaker 1 Lincoln Riley and the boys have to take on an Oregon team that is different and better and only looking for the college football playoff at this moment.

Speaker 1 Only one loss in the College Football Playoff Committee who said, listen, Oregon, you don't be

Speaker 1 messing around out here. Dan Lanning joined us earlier.
He was awesome. Bo Nix joined us earlier.
He was awesome. The view has now become absolutely spectacular back here.

Speaker 1 And tomorrow morning should be absolutely electrifying on College Game Day, which will be live on X and ESPN.

Speaker 1 I guess it's been a huge year for all of college ball, even with the hiccup in, hey, we don't get along with each other right now because we both are trying to make our businesses survive, which is certainly something that took place in the middle of ball.

Speaker 1 Don't love that that happened at all. None of us do, but we're happy to be on the other side of it.

Speaker 1 It should be a glorious football weekend, and it started great last night as the Houston Texans get a gigantic dub over the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 1 And now the entire conversation leading into week 12 is, is this Buffalo Bills team going to win Super Bowl, AJ? Is this Buffalo Bills team going to win Super Bowl?

Speaker 1 Or are they just going to have the best player in ball and not be able to get it done? And how do they transform into a team that gets a Lombardi?

Speaker 1 And that's what happens in week 12 when you lose on Thursday night to the Houston Texans and get sacked eight times and have a defense that's not able to get a stop whenever you need it, AJ Hawk.

Speaker 1 Yeah, that's the problem. Like, if you're going to to lose a game, lose a one o'clock Sunday game, right? That not a whole lot of people see.

Speaker 1 Like, when you lose a prime time game, especially a game like this to where you get sacked eight times and turn the ball over three times as a team, yeah, I think people are going to question you a little bit more than they normally would.

Speaker 1 I was, I mean, I was on record saying I thought these Buffalo Beals were a team that was going to the Super Bowl this year.

Speaker 1 I can't say I'm as confident in that statement as I was maybe a couple months ago right now.

Speaker 1 I don't know, man. They've been banged up, obviously, but Josh Allen is a generational talent.
And for whatever reason, reason, his team can't figure out that. He's like Keon Coleman.

Speaker 1 Yeah, what is that? What's the official statement? What's the official statement from the coaches?

Speaker 2 I think the official statement was just he's a shipbird. I don't know if there was any other official statement.
I mean, if you're the...

Speaker 1 He should have late, right? Did he say he should have late this time?

Speaker 1 I guess he missed a team meeting. Yeah,

Speaker 1 he missed a team meeting.

Speaker 5 And then this Thursday I saw they kind of blamed it on like, well, it's a short week, so, you know, he just needs to keep stacking days so we can get him out there next week.

Speaker 2 And then I saw Tyrell Shavers.

Speaker 1 Sorry, my bad.

Speaker 2 I saw Tyrell Shavers, the rookie wide receiver, talk about their relationship about he's the big brother and Keon Coleman's the little brother.

Speaker 1 Yeah, well, I think

Speaker 1 Keon Coleman.

Speaker 1 Yeah, he's part of ownership. He's so he obviously, I think, from ownership, going down and talked to young Buck OG in sports, who is how many years did he play?

Speaker 1 We just watched him play in Atlanta a couple years ago.

Speaker 1 How many years did Vince play?

Speaker 2 Oh, Vince played 20, I think.

Speaker 1 Tracy McGrady, how many years did he T-Mac play? Oh, I want to say at least 15 because

Speaker 2 he had Magic to Raptors. 15.

Speaker 1 We saw Vince. Did we see T-Mac? No.
Just Vince. I know we saw Vince.
Right, yeah. Go ahead.

Speaker 5 Yeah, no, T-Mac. That was like Vince's kind of like last go-around when we saw him in Atlanta.

Speaker 1 Did I see T-Mac and the Pacers? I don't know. Whenever you see, you just think of like legend and you think like Super OG whenever you think of like certain guys.
T-Mac, obviously, one of them.

Speaker 1 Him talking to young players saying, hey, you got to tighten your shit up. I think Deion Dawkins said the same thing last week after the game.
Said, hey, I think you need to tighten this thing up.

Speaker 1 He needs to continue to grow. It's like, I hate hearing that.
And in a Buffalo Bills building, I like that they're holding him accountable, but I didn't think this was possible in that building, AJ.

Speaker 1 Like, I thought that was kind of not really the thing, which I guess is why they're trying to publicly make sure people know that it's not their thing.

Speaker 1 Like, hey, yeah, this guy's not acting like this is not how this is going to go.

Speaker 1 It's seemingly what the Buffalo Bills are not only saying to Keon Coleman, but to anybody that is to join the Buffalo Bills. Like, this is not what we're about over here, AJ.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I would think that that's the thing where the coach is setting the tone, letting people know, like, let everybody else know.

Speaker 1 If you're going to show up late, if you're going to do, if you're not going to be a pro, which we always talk about being a pro, like there's consequences for your actions.

Speaker 1 And that's what you're doing.

Speaker 1 You're trying to make sure you cut this off right now from Keon Coleman, but you also, hey, none of these young guys coming into your facility, they know that, hey, you know, they sat Keon Coleman for a primetime game.

Speaker 1 Like, hey, you can't be doing this kind of stuff. We won't tolerate it.
With no deep threat. They sat Keon Coleman with no deep threat.
They needed him.

Speaker 1 They really needed him. They could have used him like that, obviously.
Yeah, they need Keon Coleman, and they're like, nope, we're not doing it, which I

Speaker 1 respect them saying. I respect it.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah, we will not jeopardize our culture for anything. There is nothing that will get in the way of that.
I respect it. Schottenheimer had to make some tough decisions.

Speaker 1 Schottenheimer had to make some tough decisions. Obviously, we saw C.D.
Lamb and George Pickens missed the first drive, and then we saw CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens take over the rest of the game.

Speaker 1 There's now a quote that has come out from CeeDee Lamb

Speaker 1 that basically said it was disrespectful to even suggest that he was thrown up in a casino, which is why he was suspended. Did we have a few drinks? Certainly.
Were we a Red Rock?

Speaker 1 Yeah. Did we miss the curfew? So what?

Speaker 1 It's hard. You know, what do you want from us? How'd we play? Perfect.
But you guys saying that I was puking in all this stuff? Relax. I'm an adult, okay?

Speaker 1 I can hoot with the owls, soar with the Eagles, always have. You saw how we played.
Let's just talk about that. Now, we can't be missing curfew, which I assume is what Shawty said.

Speaker 1 Boys, come on, this is like the most Las Vegas thing of all time. You can't just miss curfew in Las Vegas.
And CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens say you never walk away. from a heater.

Speaker 1 They could have been on a blackjack heater that we have no idea about, but they miss curfew.

Speaker 1 CeeDee comes out with one of the most legendary quotes of all time, and Shawty and the Dallas Cowboys move on after a massive win.

Speaker 1 That's kind of how I see this all unfolding, but I don't like the trend here of team meetings and curfews and all this shit being missed. We're in the middle of big-time football right now, boys.

Speaker 1 This is November. We're trying to win a damn Super Bowl out here.
And maybe, you know, Jerry Jones going on the record and saying, you think I give a fuck about football right now?

Speaker 1 There's $100 billion of natural gas underneath our feet right now. You think I care about football?

Speaker 1 Maybe that sets a little bit of a standard around everybody else so you don't have to be completely locked in. Or maybe

Speaker 1 they just missed curfew accidentally. Shoddy had to punish them.
And there is two biggest stars, be who you can afford to be, basically, and they go crazy after making a mistake.

Speaker 1 I'm happy that we kind of move on. This isn't a big deal.
I'm happy C.D.

Speaker 1 Lamb had a hilarious quote, but I don't like the trend of potentially people just, you know, not respecting the profession of being an athlete. You know what I mean? AJ?

Speaker 1 I'm not saying that this is that, but I'm saying Keon Coleman's story, this story, if we go back to last year with what we were hearing on the Colts, buddy, it's like, I think every, I don't think,

Speaker 1 I don't think any generation is immune to people not being pros, but in 2025, I didn't think it was going to happen anymore because how business oriented everybody is, basically, if that makes sense, AJ.

Speaker 1 Oh, yeah. And these guys have like been treated like professionals since they were probably 12 years old.

Speaker 1 And you know how good they are in the different seven-on-seven teams and travel teams, AAU basketball. Like they've, they understand what it's about.
But think about it, you can kind of turn around.

Speaker 1 Miami Dolphins, I know Gump's sitting sitting over there with you. We heard a lot of stuff coming up.
We heard a head coach even say, What am I going to do? Fine him.

Speaker 1 These guys don't care about getting fine money. And I don't, we haven't heard a whole lot of that stuff.
And they've actually won a few ball games now.

Speaker 1 Yeah, we figured it out. Jack Jones told us he loves Coach.
Just called him a genius. As you guys can see, Gumpy has his microphone pointed directly at the desk.
Perfect. As you guys

Speaker 1 can see.

Speaker 1 See that. There we go.

Speaker 1 Sick clock, though. Sick clock.

Speaker 1 Sick locks. So underneath that clock there,

Speaker 1 can you lift the clock? Is it taped on or what is it? You can lift it.

Speaker 1 Look at that. It's just like an outlet.
Yeah, a thermostat light type thing there.

Speaker 1 I think. Sweet.
Wooden frame around it. That's old school.

Speaker 1 That wooden frame was just added, I do believe. Need some pain on the wall.

Speaker 1 Yeah, so that wooden thing was just added by a man named Shane. Okay, Shane is an ops worker here at the stadium at Autson.
And that thing had no wood around it.

Speaker 1 That thermostat was just sitting over Gumpy's shoulder in this particular shot with where we are. President Suite, very nice.

Speaker 1 They have like a little seemingly smoking area here of the suite, and then there's a spot over there.

Speaker 1 I don't want to describe it, how I would view this particular area, but this feels like a smoking balcony. It's kind of covered, and there's seemingly stuff.

Speaker 1 I don't know if that's what people are doing here, but that's how I would certainly view this presidential suite. So very kind.
Thankful that they put us in here.

Speaker 1 Gumpy, that's the spot he's at, didn't have any guy named Shane built all that this morning for Gumpy to cover that up. Think about that.
Built that thing. The clock.
He built that clock.

Speaker 1 I have no idea how you even. Yeah, this Shane guy.
Hey, thank you, buddy. That's the Oregon difference.

Speaker 1 Call him a guy. He just drawn a picture on a sheet of paper, maybe, taped it over it.

Speaker 1 That'd be a half measure.

Speaker 1 There's a whole story behind it. There's a whole story behind it.

Speaker 4 That's good. That'd be a high estate thing to do.
Oregon doesn't take half measures.

Speaker 1 Oh!

Speaker 1 Hey, who's the big 10 champs right now?

Speaker 1 I don't know. Oh, yeah.
Season's still going on. Oregon.

Speaker 1 Oregon's the reigning Big Ten champs. Have some respect.
Isn't it amazing how

Speaker 1 these conference championship games have just taken on a different meaning now with the college football playoffs in the future? Oh, classic. Classic.

Speaker 1 What did you do?

Speaker 1 I'm going to say, like,

Speaker 1 if I'm Ohio State, I'm thinking, hey, we get to the Big Ten championship. All right, let's not get hurt.
Let's not get hurt, guys. Let's get our studs hurt before we go on a playoff run.

Speaker 1 You sound like Coach Saban. Coach Saban says, I don't think he's going to be able to.

Speaker 1 It has opened up, but I don't know.

Speaker 1 He's probably in line. There's probably 30 planes in front of him that are circling with him.

Speaker 2 Yeah, he hopped in the cockpit yet? Just take a circle and just, all right, I'm going to do this myself.

Speaker 1 My parachute has to jump out. I think he should maybe just start flying planes.
That would be an incredible thing. All right, let's

Speaker 1 listen. I understand it.
You want me to go? Are we firing any missiles? Last time I did this, I fired.

Speaker 1 He's the best. All right, let's talk a little bit about firing missiles.
A.J. Brown, the Philadelphia Eagles, always,

Speaker 1 always,

Speaker 1 not just some ways,

Speaker 1 not just halfways,

Speaker 1 always in the middle of something, seemingly. Still able to win, still able to put a great product on the field, but there's always some sort of drama.
It is taking its next step. A.J.

Speaker 1 Brown was interviewed about maybe the state of his ability currently at his locker. What would you say, dude?

Speaker 1 There's some speculation out there that you

Speaker 1 are not the same player you want to.

Speaker 8 How would you say that those people are i guess aquan ain't the same player either yeah

Speaker 1 all right

Speaker 14 but i don't got no comment right now

Speaker 14 i don't care about that you obviously don't believe it

Speaker 14 y'all don't believe that

Speaker 1 i just say okay

Speaker 1 okay so you know uh that was quick response he's thought of that he's thought of that he's been seeing it He's been seeing it like AJ actually just trash now. Like AJ Brown, not, he's old news.

Speaker 1 This guy's washed. He's seeing that.
He goes, oh, so I'm I'm just because I'm not having the same year I had last year, I'm washed. In his mind, he goes, let's start looking at some other people here.

Speaker 1 Saquon, how's he doing this year? Worse than last year. Okay, so is he washed? Sweet.
This guy just walks right into his trap. Hey, I read a couple tweets saying it.
Maybe you're washed. Boom.

Speaker 1 Response that he wasn't able to put on X right to this guy. Saquon washed.
Thanks. Shut up.
Next question. Let's move along here.
What are we even talking about? AJ is an incredible talent.

Speaker 1 AJ Brown's a game changer, a game record. Right now, it does feel like, man, and I guess not right now, it has felt for some time now that maybe he doesn't love what's going on over there, AJ.

Speaker 1 What is the answer to this? And how do you feel about Coach Siriani seemingly always having to juggle, you know, relationships, relationships and drama at seemingly every single turn?

Speaker 1 Yeah, I mean, think about all, when you think of an NFL football team, all the different personalities, everything you got to figure out as a head coach, Sirianni has a lot on his plate.

Speaker 1 And I understand. AJ Brown being frustrated by that question, wouldn't you? Like, I get it.
Did someone ask you that question? Like, hey, I I don't know if you watch.

Speaker 1 You watch every single rep, buddy? Like, even if they're not getting me the ball, I'm still getting open. I'm still able to do things and play like I can.
Just my numbers might not be there.

Speaker 1 Now, I don't think you have to pull Saquon into it.

Speaker 1 I understand, you know, you're frustrated, but then he said, I got no comment on that after you make a comment that you know is going to go around, probably. You want to talk about 2-6?

Speaker 1 Go ahead and ask. Yeah.
Hey, you wash. You wash, dude.
Our offense sucks this year.

Speaker 1 Are you bad? All right. No other comments, basically, is what Ace is.
How's it he going to fix it, though? How do we fix this?

Speaker 1 Like, obviously, if he gets 10 balls for 120 and two touchdowns in the next five games, it's a little bit more.

Speaker 4 Like two weeks ago, he kind of had that game. It's still...

Speaker 1 Yeah, like, how did, I mean, Sirianni's doing some, him and Dom are doing some great work behind the scenes, I guess, probably just trying to keep this thing under wraps a little bit. I don't know.

Speaker 1 Well, last year, I remember it was a big conversation about the wide receivers not getting a ball. Like, hey, because Saquon Barkley kind of led the team through it all.

Speaker 1 Their run game and their offensive line was everything for that Philadelphia Eagles team. And then having Devontae and A.J.

Speaker 1 Brown as weapons over at the top was certainly a nice added bonus to have two number ones that you can throw with whenever they have to stack the box. And they did all that.

Speaker 1 It was awesome to watch last year. Kelly Moe leaves, but they had an awesome offense last year.
And then they come into this year and they were still mad. Everybody was still mad last year.

Speaker 1 Siriane had to balance that.

Speaker 1 And then at the end of the season, whenever they win the Super Bowl, the two guys that dumped the Gatorade on Coach Siriani are the two wide receivers that have potentially been underutilized all year or maybe misrepresented in what they are to the offense or what they are around the league because they didn't get as many touches because there was a running game.

Speaker 1 They're the ones that dumped the thing. So it was like, obviously the Coach Siriani was, you know, having to manage that because he's four and a wide receiver.
That guy can give you a nine, right?

Speaker 1 He can do that right now if he really wanted to. So he understands that.
But it just only continues.

Speaker 1 It's only continued because I think their offense has gotten worse and they still haven't been able to do it. So it's like, was this inevitable? Was this brewing? And I don't know.

Speaker 1 Ty, what do you think inevitably happens with Coach Siriani, the Philadelphia Eagles, A.J. Brown in the future?

Speaker 1 And Conman, if you want to tag this right after Ty talks about it, everybody's saying AJ Brown wants to get back under the varable coaching tree. Everybody's saying that that's where A.J.

Speaker 1 Brown's trying to go. Is that how you feel like this ends, Ty? Or what are your thoughts on how Coach Siriani handles all this?

Speaker 5 I mean, yeah, it seems like that, like they're, you know, Howie Roseman said at the trade deadline, like, hey, you don't trade away a guy like that when you're trying to win a Super Bowl, but it doesn't seem.

Speaker 5 And just based on what we do on Mondays with Overreaction Monday, like I don't see a whole lot of people that people obviously don't love these kind of comments from AJ Brown but I think it's more so like they're talking about the offensive coordinator you know they're talking about Kevin Petulo like this guy can't get it figured out and luckily they have maybe a generational defense this year that has kind of eased that a little bit but it just I mean I think this comes on the heels I think AJ Brown either sat down with the owner or Howie Roseman and basically said like hey from here on out like I promise I'm not gonna be a distraction And then for this to come out right away.

Speaker 5 But like Tony mentioned, like, they kind of had this thing where it was, hey, AJ Brown, he had, I think, one catch for four yards one week. They win.
And it gets really loud.

Speaker 5 And then the next week they come out and he has 10 catches in the first quarter, you know, so they, they, but it's like at this point, you know, they're still trying to win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 Like, and for Siriani, I'm sure it's just like, this is Groundhog's Day. Like, we're eight and two right now, and this is all people want to talk about.

Speaker 5 Am I ever going to have the opportunity where I can just walk in and be like, hey, you know what? We're pretty good.

Speaker 5 Like, I understand you guys are unbelievable players, but, like, we really don't need to bitch about it about anything.

Speaker 5 Every single game we play, like, we should win if we do what we're supposed to do. But yeah, it just, at this point, it's a story every single week, no matter what happens.

Speaker 5 So it's impossible to imagine that he's going to, all of a sudden, next week, just be like, you know what? Everything is kind of in perspective and I want to be here.

Speaker 5 Like, it seems like he is ultimately just going to be traded at the end of the season.

Speaker 2 Well, and you've mentioned, like, Pat, that he, you know, is always in the center of something, but he's also always been unbelievable since his rookie year.

Speaker 2 Like he's never had a year where it's like, oh no, maybe A.J. Brown's losing a step.
Like, nope, he is fantastic. And there was a clip of him sitting next to Jalen Hurts at the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 And that was this year after they won. They're sharing lockers.
It's great vibes. Everything is awesome.
Celebration. We just want to ring A.J.

Speaker 2 Brown, Jalen Hurts, both of their first Super Bowl victories after losing the Super Bowl two years prior.

Speaker 2 So it's not as if they don't have that in their bag, but we are so far removed from that moment. And I don't know what the relationship is like.

Speaker 2 Clearly, it's not what that video shows, though, because if it was, then we wouldn't be here having this conversation. And you mentioned, you know, everyone is tagging to New England.

Speaker 2 Throw myself in that. I am also saying, welcome to New England, buddy.
You're going to love being a New England Patriot. But that's the thing.
Look at the Patriots and Stephon Diggs.

Speaker 2 The whole entire conversation around Stephon Diggs for a long time, especially after he left the Bills, was Diva, this guy only cares about how he wants his balls, he wants his touchdowns, pause, as they say, his touchdowns, all those things.

Speaker 2 But at the same time, there is some sort of transparency in the building between coaches McDaniels, Drake May, and Stephon Diggs that clearly isn't present with the Eagles.

Speaker 2 I don't know if they're telling him one thing, like he's going to get 10 passes in the first half every single game, and then that's not happening.

Speaker 2 But there is some sort of lack of communication, at least outside looking in, that it feels like.

Speaker 1 I don't know if it's lack of communication. I assume there is communication coming from Sirianni.
I think there's something that happened.

Speaker 1 I saw a tweet that was going around, too, and I don't know if that's necessarily it, but it does feel, and I think I saw Deshaun Jackson talking about it maybe on either his podcast or who was he with?

Speaker 1 He was with a former running back

Speaker 1 from Miami.

Speaker 1 Clinton Portis, I think. That's right.
Portis. Clinton Portis.
Clinton Portis. I got a chance to do a TV with Clinton Portis back in the day on NFL Network.
He's awesome. 2 a.m.
call time.

Speaker 1 I laughed so hard at Clinton Portis so many times. Now, Clinton Portis got caught up in some stuff.
I'm happy to see him back. Clinton Portis was very good to me and very hilarious.

Speaker 1 Him talking to Deshaun Jackson. Deshaun Jackson was like, feels like something happened here.
This feels like a personal relationship.

Speaker 1 The personal relationship could be kind of ruined from numerous different things. Maybe not getting the ball on a regular basis when you think you're open.

Speaker 1 But also with a locker room, AJ, these are humans interacting with humans.

Speaker 1 And Jason Kelsey talked about it on a morning show over there in Philadelphia about him and Lane Johnson getting into it so bad and actually not even talking to each other.

Speaker 1 And they would consider each other best friends.

Speaker 1 He talked about how Stoutland, obviously, the offensive line coach is like Jason Kelsey's second father, you know, aside from Ed, and he got into it with him.

Speaker 1 It's like football brings out a lot of emotions and there's a lot of pride and there's obviously a lot of confidence and a lot of success and a lot of alphas.

Speaker 1 It's like, is that manageable in the middle of a season for this team? It seems louder than last year even, AJ. Yeah, it does seem louder than last year.

Speaker 1 And if you're a receiver, your whole life depends on your quarterback, though. Like, you can run the best routes in the world.
You can be open every single play.

Speaker 1 If they don't get it to you, then people don't know what's going on. Other than your coach is going to, hey, man, don't worry, keep working.
I see you. I see you getting open.
We'll get you the ball.

Speaker 1 Like, I don't know.

Speaker 1 This is going to happen as long as football is around, which is hopefully forever. We know that.
Like, we're receivers and people are going to want the ball.

Speaker 1 If I don't get the ball enough, I want the ball. But the thing is, the Eagles are winning games.
That's why the Eagles are their own special work. Their favorites to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 Yeah, they win, but they have all these issues that, like, I don't even want to call them issues, but they have

Speaker 1 noise.

Speaker 1 Distractions, noise around them. Distractions.
Yeah. If you get labeled a distraction in the NFL, you don't get a job.

Speaker 1 Okay, like that, that is literally what it is, because NFL teams don't want a distraction. Now, granted, if you're a...
Really, really, really.

Speaker 1 You're like, you can have a job for a while, but eventually your play drops one notch. See ya.
Yeah. Yeah, be who you can afford to be, for sure.

Speaker 1 But if you get labeled a distraction because of how many distractions there already are and how hard it it is to win an NFL game it's like they're trying to eliminate distractions at all times that is literally what coaches and buildings are trying to do scared to death to add a distraction and then the Eagles are just like one constant distraction and somehow get on the field and win I don't know they're defying football all they're defying professional football with how they're doing it because it's the teams that win are all locked in I mean you know the Patriots their dynasty The most you're going to hear out of any of them is, we got to get better on first down, second down, third down,

Speaker 1 and fourth down how'd you play today good team played really good we can obviously get better okay that's all you heard out of them yeah did you talk to the media no do you do any events no do you do any this no just locked in because it's hard to win so you're gonna kind of do your thing now certainly some things we've learned about uh were happening in that dynasty that could be considered a pretty big distraction you know pretty big probably the biggest Maybe biggest ever, you know, maybe maybe biggest ever distraction happening at the same time as playing up there.

Speaker 1 but it was like super locked in kansas city chiefs like hey tucking our jerseys in we're doing this super locked in philadelphia eagles it's like drama yeah everywhere oh yeah at every turn even with the fans fans drama we hate it we talk to us we hate it we won't like they win the super bowl that year it's like i don't know how they do it honestly i have no idea maybe they get bored maybe you get bored some people like to live like not in chaos but they like to have a little activity around them you know maybe that's just what keeps them alive keeps them keeps them moving and then not get yeah it might just be boring if they went about their business and there was never any noise around them.

Speaker 1 Maybe they need distractions so that they're not fully engulfed. You know, so it's like, yeah, we need some other stuff to kind of keep us fresh so we can continue to kind of do our thing here.
Ah,

Speaker 1 Sunday play game, we win. Yes, we did.
How's it going? Let's ask the team.

Speaker 1 Oh, boy. Yeah, we won, I guess, but boy.
Imagine Siriani after a game. Like, he wins the game.
He's for like two seconds like, yes.

Speaker 1 And then their PR guy comes in and lets him know

Speaker 1 what the headlines are, what they're talking about, what players may have just said at their locker five minutes ago. When did he say that? When did he say that?

Speaker 1 He said it while he's walking off the field to a fan

Speaker 1 camera. That thing's out right now already.
Can I

Speaker 1 get five minutes or Johnny? Of just happiness after the win, possibly?

Speaker 1 He goes out to his press conference. I'm tired of talking about this.
They don't all want to kill each other. I know what he said.

Speaker 1 I know we just won, but geez, Louise, we're trying to get the next week. This is a long season.
We just want a Super Bowl. It just never ends, it feels like.

Speaker 1 So congratulations to the Eagles still being able to do it.

Speaker 1 And AJ Brown, whatever your future future is can't wait to watch you play football now you boys take it for about a minute and uh i got something special that's about to pop in front of these pine trees

Speaker 1 uh oh okay hey foxy i don't know if you have it we got a great slate of college games i believe this weekend they're going to pop up here oh yes look at you guys always on the market we go Tone, when you look at this, sorry about that quick mute we just had.

Speaker 1 I actually hit that button. We got a good surprise coming for us, boys.
I just checked the back wall. Can't wait.
But Tone, when you see these games, which one's most intriguing to you?

Speaker 4 Like, we're at the part of the season where, like, we did this last week, and I was like, oh, all these games are playoff games. And we're here again, like, Oklahoma and Mizzou.

Speaker 4 If you're Oklahoma, you cannot lose to Mizzou, or you will definitely drop out after that huge win to Bama last week.

Speaker 4 Oregon and SC, if Oregon loses, I would not be shocked if they drop out and SEC, or sorry, SC kind of moves up into that spot.

Speaker 4 SMU is playing for a chance to get into the ACC title game as well as Louisville, but SMU has the better chance. Obviously, you have Montana State and Montana.

Speaker 4 That's number two versus number three game in FCS. Pitt and Georgia Tech is basically a playoff game to get to the ACC championship.

Speaker 4 And then if BYU keeps winning, they will be in the Big 12 championship, most likely against Texas Tech. Cincinnati still has a chance though.

Speaker 4 So just like last week, all these games that we have up here have serious, serious playoff implications.

Speaker 1 Yeah, we got a great slate coming on. And Pat,

Speaker 1 no real way to intro. This guy looks amazing, but Pat, what do you got going on over at Eugene?

Speaker 1 Oregon Steve's here.

Speaker 1 Oregon Steve.

Speaker 1 Hell yeah.

Speaker 1 A lot of the years you couldn't wear this. They're rivals, Pac-12.
Now they're in the Big Ten. So I can wear it.
And now they're

Speaker 1 Big Ten team. A little different class, too.

Speaker 1 I don't want to start burying too much because I love Andrew. Look, I appreciate him.
And obviously, I appreciate the Stanford and Stanford Steve. You guys kind of asked Oregon very, very good.

Speaker 1 Correct. Obviously, this place is spectacular.
You've talked about this being an incredible home environment. I haven't had a chance to experience it.
I was going to stay for the Indiana, Oregon.

Speaker 1 Then I picked Indiana in the way that I do. I go, you know, probably shouldn't just utilize the sideline passes here this time.
And I get out of here. You love this place as a home field advantage.

Speaker 1 What do you think about tomorrow in USC? I think it's a super matchup because we got to see what Oregon's pass defense brings to the table, Pat.

Speaker 1 They've only played teams in the hundreds in pass offense the last month. And the last time we saw them here, Indiana threw the ball effectively against them.
Now they had Mendoza.

Speaker 1 And this pass offense for SC is their strength. So to me, it's all about how

Speaker 1 Oregon can defend the pass. Now, I will say with USC, when you mentioned Stanford, when Stanford had success against Oregon teams, they matched them up front.
Indiana matched them up front.

Speaker 1 Everybody talks about the skill guys with Oregon, but you got to beat them on the line of scrimmage on both sides. And does SC have that?

Speaker 1 This is their best chance since Lincoln Riley took over the job at USC. That's a really cool jacket.

Speaker 1 That is a really cool jacket. Kenny and the boys in the equipment room.
Do you see that? I don't know.

Speaker 1 How do they do the swoosh? Is that the grateful duck? Oh, it is the grateful duck.

Speaker 1 He looks

Speaker 1 out of side. honestly.

Speaker 1 That's the utter sleeve. Not to be confused with the utter sleeve.
Yeah, you talk about Oregon's physicality. I think Dan Lenning loves that.

Speaker 1 We talked about him last hour, and he said, I want my team to be known to be relentless. And can't wait to watch that, obviously.
Last time we were here, not good for them. No.
Not good for them.

Speaker 1 Crowd was not even a factor. But on that note, Crowd Tomorrow Morning Game Day.
Oh, they're ready. Crazy.

Speaker 1 They love us.

Speaker 1 They love us.

Speaker 1 It's a different, okay, different breed here.

Speaker 1 The way they could do staying out Friday night, coinciding with being awake for our show, then go take a quick nap a roux and then come back for the game and be ready to go.

Speaker 1 Okay, I love that we're doing it. And every time I watched an Oregon show game day, I felt envious of the people that were there because how special it was.

Speaker 1 Every time I've been part of an Oregon game day, it's been a spectacular hot. Just you're 6 a.m.
out there and the place is hey,

Speaker 1 I mean, it is wide awake and it's special. It's a special special.
And it's so much better now. When we first started coming here, we did this right out here.
Or no, over there. On the

Speaker 1 other side of the

Speaker 1 other end zone.

Speaker 1 But that was the best.

Speaker 1 That asked a lot for the students to come over. Now we're right in the middle of campus.
They'll be ready to rock. Yeah, I cannot wait to see them.
This place is special.

Speaker 1 Tone has a question for you back in the Thunderdome.

Speaker 4 I do, Steve. I agree with you everything about that game.
Oregon, obviously, being the number one pass defense, but they haven't really played anyone yet.

Speaker 4 But I wanted to take you down to Oklahoma and Mizzou. Obviously, Oklahoma gets the big win last week, even though they're outgained by 200 yards.
They only went for 200 yards.

Speaker 4 Their offense has not looked good at all. Is there any chance Mizzou can get them, though, without Pribula?

Speaker 4 Because I know the freshman hasn't been great, and Oklahoma's defense is going to throw a ton if it's the freshman going.

Speaker 4 But can Mizzou, do they have a chance if Pribula goes, or do you think they have a chance either way?

Speaker 1 I think they need Pribula with what that brings to the table. You two just pronounce that differently, so figure it out.
He's right. Prebula.
He's definitely right.

Speaker 1 Okay, well, it's hard to say Prabula. Prebula? No, I said Pribula.
I said Pribula. Okay.
Yeah, okay. Prebula.
Okay, yeah. You got it.
Whatever the case.

Speaker 2 Let's throw some respects.

Speaker 1 They need him. The issue is an ankle.
And going against that offense, you're going to need to go 100 miles an hour. And can he sustain that?

Speaker 1 The issue I have with Missouri is when they have played the upper echelon teams in college football in the SEC, they haven't fared great.

Speaker 1 Where we got here?

Speaker 1 Ahmad was 42 yards, 52 against Alabama, and then nothing against the other top 10 defense they faced. So it's an uphill battle.

Speaker 1 I mean, Oklahoma's defense, what they did to Ty Simpson last week, 240 yards in the first half, held him to 80. They get the pick in the end zone.
They get the pick six. Just an opportune deal.

Speaker 1 But those are two monster wins for Oklahoma. I actually,

Speaker 1 they should have been a seven. They should have been at at Oregon.
Okay, no offense. Before you start diving into that, AJ actually has a question for you.
Yes, Stanford Steve slash Oregon Steve.

Speaker 1 I'm not sure how to address you right now, but what do you think of this? This, you know, when you look at the board here for the college football playoffs, what do you disagree with?

Speaker 1 Do you have any big issues with what's going on here?

Speaker 1 Yeah, my issue is seven to ten. I would have Oklahoma where at seven, Oregon below Alabama.
I would have Alabama at eight, and then Oregon, Notre Dame, nine, ten, whatever way you want to do that.

Speaker 1 When you look at Alabama's resume four top 25 wins

Speaker 1 Oregon Minnesota and Iowa are the only teams over 500 in FBS that they've beaten that Iowa team's a good football team they are good

Speaker 1 they are good

Speaker 1 But I just look at the resumes and to me it's just showing the eye test is weighing more with all those coaches in the room but also Alabama is getting penalized for that bad loss of Florida State.

Speaker 1 I didn't think think it was a bad loss then, but the way Florida State's season has played out with losing all these games now and not looking like an upper-tier team, they're getting penalized for that loss.

Speaker 1 Do you think this is going to be consistent with how they view the rankings going forward, or is it like every week we should expect something different? Like, oh, Iowa was a big win.

Speaker 1 This was a bad loss. This is this.
Do they kind of just, you know it a lot better than us. Should we just expect multiple different reasons on why they picked what each week?

Speaker 1 Well, you look at it. Or is each like committee different? Yeah, you look at it.
I think every week it changes because the rankings are going to change. So like last week, Iowa was a top 25 win.

Speaker 1 Now they're not because they lost to SC and now they're out of the top 25.

Speaker 1 So the resumes are going to change and that's what everybody wants to see with Miami and Notre Dame because they don't have a lot of data points to gain.

Speaker 1 But will that head-to-head end up being the big kicker at the end when the resumes are finalized? Miami, Notre Dame. What are your thoughts? Yeah,

Speaker 1 they play.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I just, I thought Notre Dame got rewarded big time for blowing out Pitt. I don't know how good Pitt is.
You know, when you

Speaker 1 good Narduz,

Speaker 1 they do some. You are Nardozi.
I'm just saying, they got a lot to prove. Look at the schedule.
Tyler Palco gave them a speech before last week. Yeah.
Do you know that?

Speaker 1 Did you see the handshake after the game? Yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 That looked a little dicey. What is that?

Speaker 1 I don't know. Coach Freeman seemed like he didn't want to hear any of that.
Is it the 100 to nothing, you think? Is that the

Speaker 1 I thought that, maybe?

Speaker 1 Maybe trying to, like Dez said, trying to flip it over to Notre Dame side, like, whoa, we're just coming in here to play football so Marcus Freeman said thanks Nardew's 110 to three why don't we even just what are we even doing here as a football coach but you're saying Notre Dame gets rewarded seemingly for this pit win we don't know I don't know about pit yet pit goes to Georgia Tech and then they host Miami we're gonna know a lot more about pit I mean they were sneaking in the rankings and now they're not they got the freshman quarterback they obviously didn't play well last week when you get that stage and you get that opportunity against a team like Notre Dame, you got to play well.

Speaker 1 They didn't play well. I expect them to bounce back tomorrow.
I'm not sure if they're going to win the game against Georgia Tech, but to me, Notre Dame got a lot of credit for beating that pit team.

Speaker 1 They were impressive, no doubt, but to jump all the way up or jump the spots that they did and drop Bama behind them, I thought that was a lot.

Speaker 1 So, Tone immediately, I think after maybe week three or week four of the college football season, Tone immediately goes, Well, this reminds us: if Notre Dame wins every game by 30 going forward, are they going to get in a playoff?

Speaker 1 I said, No way, just because I was a prisoner of the moment. I'm like, can't happen.
Now, we know about Texas AM, obviously.

Speaker 1 Texas AM, vastly different view on them now versus maybe at the time, but that is kind of what they've done. They've become a dominant football team.

Speaker 1 In the eye test, if we're going strictly by eye test, Jeremiah Love, and they got price as well. Jeremiah Love after us talking to him.
I love this one.

Speaker 1 I absolutely love this. I got an idea if we want to throw a little money on him for the Heisman Trophy.
Okay, he's going to run for 800 yards against Syracuse and Stanford.

Speaker 1 Like he's going to do whatever he wants. Okay.
Now, he doesn't have conference championship Saturday to extend his, you know, prowess as far as a Heisman trophy winner.

Speaker 1 But everyone's saying that it's going to be Mendoza and saying the winner of the Big Ten title game is going to win the Heisman. And I don't agree with that.

Speaker 1 I think that's going to be a defensive game. I don't know how impressive the quarterback play is going to be in that game.

Speaker 1 So if I get love in these two monster showcases, he already showcased last week, I believe he deserves the Heisman.

Speaker 1 What about Marcel Reese? He's still got some work to do.

Speaker 1 I'm saying Jeremiah's got to get way ahead. He's got a chance.
Now, look at the other.

Speaker 1 Are you NDSPN? Yeah, because we got S-E-C-S-PN.

Speaker 1 Are you NDSPN?

Speaker 2 I'm trying to make it case.

Speaker 1 You guys were talking about how great you felt about the Texans. I got a little mojo going with this thing.
You felt good about the Texans, too, didn't you? It was stinky.

Speaker 1 Dude, I woke up in the morning. I don't know if you heard.
Oh, yeah, I heard. Dude, never, Indiana beating Oregon, the most my body has ever felt.

Speaker 1 Like, if you listen to me make that pick, I literally say, congratulations to Indiana. They went as if I was a fortune teller and I knew what was going to happen.
That's how I felt in that game. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yesterday, same thing with the Houston Texans. And I wish I would get it more.
Like, that would be really cool if that would start happening. So we got to wait till tomorrow morning.

Speaker 1 I don't know, because I thought I was going to wake up today and I was going to look at the board and I was just going to get up. Yeah.
I get that feeling.

Speaker 1 The football gods are going to be like, hey, Pat, actually, we have chosen you to get it right now going forward because of how much it was yesterday. That Texans team, though, is legit.

Speaker 1 It feels like... Oh, that defense is sick.
Unbelievable. Sick.
And Ducky Mill is a Stanford guy. Yeah.
Good player.

Speaker 1 Didn't play a lot of college football, but he's played more in the pros now than he has college. 29 starts, I think, for the Houston Texans.
That's more than Stanford. What was that, COVID years?

Speaker 1 Yeah. Yep.

Speaker 1 But then he had Stanford was playing during COVID. You guys shut it down.

Speaker 1 I think we got to five games that year. Really? Yeah, I think so.
Too scared. Four and two, I think, believe.
I think they went four and two. Good ball club.
I'm happy everybody was okay, by the way.

Speaker 1 A lot of athletes we heard got it, and they all survived. So we're very excited.
We're happy that happened. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Those are wild times. Oh, California shut down.
Not they went the only ones, though. It was like, it felt like everywhere was, because I, yeah.

Speaker 1 Let's move along. Let's move along.
Where are the other boys? Yeah, Dougie Mills. Let's move along.
Let's move along. Connor has a question for you, Stanford, Steve.

Speaker 2 Yeah, Stanford on Steve. I'm wondering what you think about the talent on the field tomorrow.

Speaker 2 How many GMs, how many NFL scouts do you expect there? Just because it seems as though there's a lot of first-round picks. I mean, Mikai Lemon over there for USC.

Speaker 2 I know some teams who might want a young rookie wide receiver are kind of eyeing him. And then, I mean, Dante Moore, Moore, he's going to be a top 10, top three quarterback, probably.

Speaker 2 What do you expect as far as skill?

Speaker 1 Well, I'm interested, Connor, your friend, you brought that up. At the Indiana-Oregon game, plenty were on the field in the pregame watching both quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 And now we don't know what Dante's going to do with the status. I mean, the way it sounds is that if these quarterbacks are going to keep getting paid, they're going to come back to college.

Speaker 1 That might be the opportunity for him, knowing that everybody wants a quarterback in the first round, for him to go.

Speaker 1 So I'm interested to see what scouts are back to show it because then they're in on Dante Moore. So that is interesting.
But the wide receiver core for SC is awesome. Mikai Lemon is an absolute stud.

Speaker 1 I know Ty saw Kirk Ference's comments about him, talking about a player maybe he hasn't seen in 20 years. I mean, he was dominant last week in leading that comeback to a win.

Speaker 1 And then Lane's just a perfect offset guy on the other side who has a ton of height.

Speaker 1 But that's the deal I have to see with SC the offensive and defensive line. The great SC teams had studs, pros up there, and they've come up here and beaten Oregon.
Now, it's been a while.

Speaker 1 They've only played here three times, I think, since 2011. But SC has to win up front, and that's what the test is.

Speaker 1 I thought they played great, both these teams against an Iowa team who I think is very good up front.

Speaker 1 Oregon rolled up their sleeves and ran the ball down Iowa's throat, and that was the biggest shocker to me in that game. And

Speaker 1 Iowa

Speaker 1 couldn't get to

Speaker 1 the quarterback last week, and that's what provided the comeback for SC. So the lines of scrimmage are enormous, especially for SC in this atmosphere tomorrow.

Speaker 1 Yeah, it's getting foggy up here, and Stanford Steve's bringing the heat. Obviously, we appreciate that.
Excited to see the scouts and the NFL talent that are on the field tomorrow.

Speaker 1 The weekend slate features one in Montana that I thought we were going to head to. The highest these two have ever been ranked while facing each other.
124th time they'll be playing.

Speaker 1 Montana State takes on Montana. Not in Bozeman, Bozeman, in Missoula.
Yes. And we could have been there.
Yep. Obviously, we don't make the decision.

Speaker 1 Looks like. Not going to say who makes the decision.
Yeah. CDP boy.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah. Look at that.

Speaker 1 I'll get the freak.

Speaker 1 I'm 0 for 11. On guessing? Yeah.
On where we were headed? Yeah.

Speaker 1 So you don't want any of me. At some point, you should have got one right

Speaker 1 now.

Speaker 1 I'm going back. I'm like, wow, that's wrong.
Wrong. Wrong.
Wrong. Yeah.
So

Speaker 1 just know that we all feel the same way, though. No, no.

Speaker 1 We do not have to do that. Backdrop there in Missoula

Speaker 1 would have been incredible. What do you think about that game? Montana State's a favorite in Missoula.
That was pretty eye-opening. I caught a little Montana State last week against UC Davis.

Speaker 1 Good ball club. Yeah, what style of play does Montana State have, Stanford? A little wide open, quarterback, mobile, a lot of ride to the side, RPO game.
What about Montana?

Speaker 1 Montana's bigger physical. Oh, it's going to be cold.
We know that last time we sent sleep vinegar. Those guys don't like wearing sleeves.

Speaker 1 Oh, yeah, it's because they got to showcase that they're tough. That's what they've got to do.
Yeah. They could have the old astral turf up there.
You don't know. All right.

Speaker 1 Question of the week is a coach that's an old miss. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Now, Theo Vaughn just told a story

Speaker 1 about

Speaker 1 experiencing Oxford with Lane Kiffin. Talks about his, he went the yoga with him.
6 a.m. Yoga, non-negotiable for Lane Kiffin and this new life that he's living.
He's in there every single day.

Speaker 1 I have happened to have received some text messages before going in there from Lane. My relationship with Lane at this point is pretty hilarious.
FaceTime only. FaceTime only.
It's very random.

Speaker 1 It's not like every day. This is like a Apache, I would say, a relationship and text message.
Theo Vaughn talked about him in the middle of this yoga, 6 a.m.

Speaker 1 Yoga, about how he's actually not the coach, the yoga teacher, whatever it's called, the yogi, but he'll go around and motivate some of the people that are in the yoga class.

Speaker 1 And if it's a little quiet, Theo Vaughn says, he's dribbling a golf ball in there to add a little accent noises to the 6 a.m. yoga.
Lane Kiffin seemingly loves his life at Ole Miss.

Speaker 1 They are rolling. Everybody thinking, obviously, going to the college football playoff.
Who knows? They're selling that place out. They're celebrating.
Belt to ass is becoming their thing.

Speaker 1 BTA is like becoming their thing. I know, obviously, Mississippi State, the Bulldogs have the cowbell.

Speaker 1 They're getting the belts. Like, they're developing a lot of traditional.
I'll take a belt against a cowbell.

Speaker 1 cowbell though guaranteed sound yeah watch you got to really do you got to do well with the belt you know yeah you because you can miss that you can't you can squeeze it and it doesn't make a massive sound and you know so that's a that's a big deal obviously on getting the sound and getting everybody in unison but like lane kiffin legitimately could become king like statue just like saban almost at alabama ty has a question for you about all of that yeah steve what do you think is ultimately going to happen with this uh connor was looking at some of the Ole Miss message boards

Speaker 5 before the show, and he was saying how, you know, a lot of people are speculating that LSU and Florida boosters are basically flying private flights over Oxford to really rile up the fan base, make them think that something maybe is happening that's not.

Speaker 5 I think a lot of people at this point are kind of assuming like, hey, we don't know if a contract extension was offered. So if that's the case, like, is he gone?

Speaker 5 He's going to play out this season, but he kind of knows that maybe he will leave for LSU or Florida. The longer this takes, it kind of does seem like there's a good chance that he is going to leave.

Speaker 5 Where do you sit with this whole thing right now, and what do you think is ultimately going to happen?

Speaker 1 It's a lot. I thought Coach Saban has done a great job of explaining how this window and the calendar is just brutal for this and guys trying to make decisions.

Speaker 1 And when you're talking about families involved and the whole deal, I tend to think that Lane sends his family ahead to Baton Rouge to get a tour, and that purple sells on people.

Speaker 1 Then you hear the idea that LSU would be in agreement that Coach O would come back and be part of Lane's staff. That

Speaker 1 thing has seriously cooking right there. Yeah, but

Speaker 1 who's saying any of these things? Who's saying anything? People. Yeah, I know.
I know. Incredible.

Speaker 1 Yeah, that's what I'm saying. And also,

Speaker 1 go ahead. I thought there were some deals where

Speaker 1 there were

Speaker 1 scenes of the family in Baton Rouge. Okay, so on that note,

Speaker 1 Baton Rouge, isn't she dating?

Speaker 1 Isn't a member of the family dating? Yeah, weeks.

Speaker 1 So we would assume family has been to Baton Rouge. Okay.
Right, we would assume that that is the case. Now, Gainesville, if there is trips being made, it is fascinating with the family dynamic.

Speaker 1 Like, maybe there has to be like a, yeah, let's go check it out type thing because I know the internet was sleuthing all that stuff, and you can track planes, and I don't love that at all.

Speaker 1 It's actually a very scary situation, but I understand, hey, we all have information on everybody about everything.

Speaker 1 I completely agree with that. But it's like,

Speaker 1 wow. I know in the history of ball, you leave Ole Miss to go to Florida or to LSU.
But it's like, man, you got it. 10 wins, three straight seasons.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 6 a.m. yoga.
I think the rest of his days are pretty good, too. Pretty good.

Speaker 1 They got yoga in Baton Rouge and Gainesville.

Speaker 1 Right? Is he dribbling a golf ball around it at 6 a.m.? Is he walking around motivating everybody at 6 a.m.? That's how comfortable he is at his 6 a.m.

Speaker 1 yoga class, let alone everything else in his life. And it's like, is the money different? I guess that's a question we should ask you.
Is that you? Florida money different?

Speaker 1 Yeah, who's going to say, who's going to make him not be able to say no? That's what it sounds like it's going to come down to.

Speaker 1 And now it sounds like Ole Miss is going to try and do that this weekend, even though he denied it. Oh, did he? On your show.
Well, he said they didn't make him have an ultimatum.

Speaker 1 I didn't know if there was

Speaker 1 a contract offer already. You know, that changes everything.
Crazy situation that he's just in the middle of, and every other decision kind of waits on what he does.

Speaker 1 So I think you got a lot of pressure from other agents and other coaches and other ADs and other presidents and governors potentially in some states that would like an answer now because it helps them and benefits them.

Speaker 1 I wonder how much of it's like actually real, you know, because he said I was not given an ultimatum and it doesn't sound like he's thinking I need to make an answer now, but the old Miss fans are like, it might not be real, but we're hearing what everybody else is saying.

Speaker 1 We want an answer now. And like you talked about in the midst of this,

Speaker 1 an unbelievable season, one loss, you know, still has a monster game against his ride.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Like they've waited that.
This is the cusp of the whole run. This is why you hired Lane to take you to this place.
And with all that going on, amidst all these talks,

Speaker 1 it makes for mayhem. It does make for mayhem.
Blame the calendar. Yeah, Transfer Portal, middle of college football playoff run.

Speaker 1 You would think Next Place would won Transfer Portal if Lane was going somewhere. And also...
He is Transfer Portal King.

Speaker 1 TPK.

Speaker 1 Fairest state guy right now. Run over.
Oh, they lost Trinity Dad. And now it's just win and dead because all he does is win, win, win, no matter what.
And that seems like Lane Kiffen's story, too.

Speaker 1 Will it remain an old miss with a skyline potentially being built alongside of his success? Or does he head somewhere else that certainly has other opportunities and options? I don't know.

Speaker 1 As somebody that is not the closest with Lane, but can text Lane, I'm almost like, brother,

Speaker 1 life is okay right now. And to your point, he's I I watched his dock.
Yeah, life being okay now, I think, is a big part of it, right? Like, he made that known. Yes, exactly.

Speaker 1 But the idea how he's done this with just violating the transfer portal, when you go back to Florida or an LSU, it's more of a homegrown deal.

Speaker 1 Like, does he really want to go back to sitting in living rooms, recruiting guys? Because that's how you build that thing.

Speaker 1 You get players from in your state, not necessarily Ole Miss, where he's just firing away. I mean, Charlie Weiss Jr.
talked about seeing Trinidad on films. Like, call him.

Speaker 1 And look at, save their season. Now, granted, you have to do that again and again.

Speaker 1 That's what I'm saying. Does that get old or is recruiting get like, you know what I'm saying? There's two different styles to this.

Speaker 1 It seems like the recruiting thing is going away, but like, you see Coach Lanning with what he's done.

Speaker 1 We appreciate the hell out of you. Hey.
Hey, here's the week 12 slate that we're about to pick. Oh, we.
Oh. Any of these ones we like? I've loved the Steelers this week.
Okay.

Speaker 1 If Tone was playing quarterback, I'd take the Steelers. And the under and that.
I'll take that as a teacher. Do you like the Steelers? Steelers and the under.
Tone doesn't really.

Speaker 1 It sounded like you were maybe taking a shot at him like Herbie. No, no, no, no.
Ty yesterday. Did you see that yesterday? Ty, I got you, bro.

Speaker 5 Hey, thank you. Thank you, Steve.
I love you. All right.

Speaker 1 Come on. Ty can hit bombs, dude.
People forget about that. All right, Steve, we appreciate you.
Ladies and gentlemen, watch out for the Chiefs. Just saying.
Watch out for the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 Get out. Get out.
Take that handshake, man.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Did you? Nope.

Speaker 1 Take it back. Take it back.
Quick. All right.

Speaker 1 See you, buddy. I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 What was that about? That was tough. Shot in the way.

Speaker 2 It was a great hit, too, up until then.

Speaker 1 Yeah, what's that?

Speaker 1 I like these artsy shots that you do.

Speaker 1 I like just me.

Speaker 1 Oh, pop your little skull in there. I just have to ask a question, bro.

Speaker 1 Yeah, you left his phone, Steve. Steve, we showcase the back of that.
Oh, no. You need to get out of here because what you see.
Can you showcase the back of that? Oh, you you see that?

Speaker 1 See, what is the back of this? Come back, okay? Come back a little bit more. Face that way.
Camera's over here.

Speaker 1 You can just get on the camera. Sorry, you back that way, back, back that way, back that way.

Speaker 1 Back of your jacket better. Are you moving?

Speaker 1 Out of way, other gun.

Speaker 1 Outer way, other guy.

Speaker 1 What are we doing?

Speaker 1 All right. We never got it.
We still never got it. He's gone.
Is he serious? All right, see, Steve.

Speaker 1 That's classic outer gun.

Speaker 7 It is. Jerry Garcia designed that thing?

Speaker 4 Question, did he have to sprint up a 700 flights of steps before he got to the hit?

Speaker 1 Ah, geez, Mike Fred just collapsed too after the entire performance we just saw there.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I mean, we're up here on, yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 Yeah,

Speaker 1 but also, he's been on the road, what, 11 weeks? True. 12 weeks.

Speaker 1 He's home how many days? One a week, I think. Sanford Steve is home like one or two days a week.
He's living life like an old school professional wrestler. I respect it.
I do.

Speaker 1 I really respect that.

Speaker 15 This is Kevin Clark for Manscaped. Look, being a man doesn't mean skipping self-care.
I do this show three times a week and every single time I do a little self-care beforehand, okay?

Speaker 15 Grooming, the hair, everything. You guys see it.

Speaker 15 You don't wake up like this. You don't wake up like that.

Speaker 15 You gotta do. You gotta get the stubble going.
You gotta get rid of that. awful mustache I had last spring.
Listen, I tried. I thought the mustache over the over the stubble was a good look.

Speaker 15 Not a good look. It wasn't a good look.

Speaker 1 All right, let's make these picks AJ in that business and in his business You know these types of things Houston Texans cover last night. Thank God and get the outright win.
Holy hell.

Speaker 1 Look at this right now. Look at this right now.
Oh man.

Speaker 1 It's changed like nine times over the course of the last hour and a half. That's what you dream of.
Yeah, I'm up here in Eugene. Look at how beautiful this place is.

Speaker 1 You're gonna climb in those mountains?

Speaker 3 Absolutely beautiful.

Speaker 1 I'll tell you what, you won't need to climb those mountains to get to that altitude, brother. I'm already there.
I'm already there.

Speaker 1 There is a couple shops with local laws all around where I'm staying, and we will certainly enjoy that and finish it before getting back to Indiana, where it is not legal.

Speaker 1 Of course, we live and die by those rules because we enjoy freedom and life, and we are certainly enjoying that here in Oregon.

Speaker 1 The Houston Texans getting six points yesterday or five and a half wouldn't have mattered. They covered.

Speaker 1 Let's go to the New York Football Giants with Jameis Winston as their quarterback, traveling to Detroit to take on the Lions. Lions favored by 10.
AJ, who do you like? How do you like it?

Speaker 1 10 points seems like a bunch. Jackson Dart is out, so we got J-Mo playing.
Give me the Lions minus 10.

Speaker 2 Laporta did get surgery today, and he will be not out for the season for sure yet, but it's going to be tough for him to get back.

Speaker 4 If you guys would like to know what the sports folks think of Jackson Dart and Jameis Jameis Winston since the Jackson Dart news, the lion has shot up to 12.5 or 13.

Speaker 1 Wow. Jackson Dart's worth three points.
Apparently. Yep, and Kayvon Thibodeau and Adebo, our best corner, were also ruled out.
So basically, nobody's coming back.

Speaker 1 So if there was any optimism at all, it got extinguished this morning.

Speaker 1 That's awesome. Congrats, Foxy.
Okay.

Speaker 3 Yeah, and to add up to all of this, the Lions after a loss, 13-0 against the spread, boys.

Speaker 1 All right, I'll take the Lions as as well. Jets, Baltimore Ravens.
We see Lamar Jackson super pumped about being on Instagram Lives with Marlon Humphrey and such.

Speaker 1 He's their favorite by 13.5 taking on the Jets who are going with T-Mobile as quarterback just because Coach Glenn wants to. AJ, who do you like? How do you like it?

Speaker 1 Man, I like the Ravens to win, but I do not like 13.5, so give me the Jets.

Speaker 1 I'll take the Ravens minus 13.5. Feels like it's some massive spreads this weekend.
13 and a half going into Nashville, the Seattle Seahawks. 69% of the money is on the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 1 I'll take the Seattle Seahawks. AJ, you? Seattle Seahawks as well.

Speaker 4 You get him at 12 and a half.

Speaker 1 Bam. Perfect.
We'll take him there. New England Patriots travel to Cincinnati.
I show speed will be the ruler of the jungle. 73% of the bets are on the Patriots minus six.

Speaker 1 Conman, what are we here and what are we learning?

Speaker 2 Kayshawn Booty, the deep ball threat for New England. He will be back.
Still up in the air about Ramondre Stevenson.

Speaker 2 But aside from that, the real question of the game is who's starting IQB for the Bengals. They haven't said if Burrow is or not.
He did take first-team reps yesterday. Flacco taking second team reps.

Speaker 2 So kind of still up in the air there, but I feel good either way just because the Bengals can't block anybody and they can't stop a cold.

Speaker 1 Okay, so it sounds like you love the Patriots. I love the Patriots as well.
Give me the New England Patriots and Vrabel going into Cincinnati and covering six.

Speaker 1 Can we get that at five and a half, maybe? No, no, no.

Speaker 4 Six is actually.

Speaker 1 I got the Patriots as well here, Pat.

Speaker 1 Okay, let's go to the Vikings, Green Bay Packers, the nfc north are they about to get a little bit of nine

Speaker 5 on the limbo tai your thoughts uh josh jacobs potentially a game time decision he basically said hey if it's up to me i'm gonna go but we'll see that flores defense against a packers offensive line who's been kind of dog shite all year so uh should be very interesting obviously josh jacobs is the is the key here though

Speaker 1 Josh Jacobs obviously don't love watching that last week. Jordan Love, fresh off a big-time play.
Give me the Minnesota Vikings plus six in Green Bay, AJ. Okay, half.

Speaker 1 In Green Bay, give me the Packers at minus six.

Speaker 2 Are you sure, Pat? Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 What?

Speaker 2 Just checking in. Just wasn't sure if you saw any of the memes going around on the internet or anything.

Speaker 1 Yeah, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, and

Speaker 1 nine.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah, give me that. Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears.
Steve loves the Steelers and the under.

Speaker 1 Give me the Pittsburgh Steelers going into Chicago. I'll go to the Chicago Bears.
Give me the Chicago Bears. Minus 200.
Give me the Pittsburgh. AJ, who do you like? I like the Steelers.

Speaker 1 Stamper Steve seems so passionate about this.

Speaker 4 I just want to let everyone know, Aaron Rodgers is 24-5 against the Chicago Bears, 64 touchdowns, 10 interceptions. All right.

Speaker 1 Okay, so I'll take Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Chicago. Indianapolis Colts at the Chiefs.
Colts are getting 3.5% and 58% of the bets. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 That is crazy that the Colts are getting 58% of the bets against the Chiefs and getting three and a half points. I like the Colts.
AJ, who do you like? I like the Colts as well.

Speaker 1 Oh, yes.

Speaker 4 Dan Jones, good to go.

Speaker 1 And Charvarius Ward off the bye week, right? Yeah. Here we go.
Don't love that. He had a fibula coming off the bye week.
I don't know what that even means. That's a big word.

Speaker 1 Don't like any of it with Daniel Jones. Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals, Liam Cohen, favored by three, heading into Arizona.

Speaker 1 They've been getting blown out because they've been starting terribly. Who do you like? How do you like it? I like the Jacksonville Drags.
I think Trevor Lawrence has a day here. Minus two and a half.

Speaker 1 I will take it.

Speaker 1 I'll take them at two and a half as well. Cleveland Browns playing the Las Vegas Raiders.
Browns defense versus the Raiders' offense. That might be overscoring in of itself.

Speaker 1 I like the Cleveland Browns getting four going into Las Vegas with Shador Sanders at the start. How about you, AJ? Yep, give me the Browns and Shador on this one.

Speaker 1 Philadelphia Eagles favored by three and a half. Crazy.
Just

Speaker 1 somehow. And then on the other side, Dallas Cowboys.
Crazy. Everything that goes on in that place.
This is the battle of controversy in the NFC East. Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 1 Eagles favored by three and a half going into Jerry World. AJ, who do you like? You know what? I like the Dallas Cowboys here.

Speaker 1 I think their defense is playing better than they were early, so I will take them here.

Speaker 1 Me too. Falcon Saints in the NFC South.
Falcons getting two and a half going into New Orleans. Give me them, AJ Hawkers.
Kirk Cousins a quarterback? Yeah. Give me the Falcons as well.

Speaker 1 And then Sunday night football, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Baker Mayfield travels back to the place that maybe saved his entire career, the Los Angeles Rams.
Matthew Stafford on an MVP run.

Speaker 1 Baker Mayfield might be the MVP by the end of this thing. Rams favored by seven.
67% of the public bets on the Buccaneers getting a touchdown and an extra point. AJ, who do you like?

Speaker 1 I like both these teams, but I like the LA Rams here to cover this one. Six and a half, I will take.

Speaker 1 I will take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers plus six and a half Rams to get a win on Sunday night football. And that is the entire Sunday slate.
That is AJ and I making our picks.

Speaker 1 We're not saying we're seeing it perfectly, so please do not ride blindly alongside of us. But what we do want you to do is have the greatest weekend of your life.

Speaker 1 Football is about to show up in a huge way. Tell your friends and family you love them.
Holidays are right around the corner.

Speaker 1 Meaningful football is happening, and we are the luckiest people on earth that you allow us to do this for a living. We can't thank you enough.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.

Speaker 1 It might change their life. We're in this thing together.
We're back on Overreaction Monday. Goodbye, everybody.
Game day from Oregon, 9 a.m. on ESPN and X.

Speaker 1 Feel like we really got that one, boys. Oh, yeah.
You got it. You got it.

Speaker 1 I had to see if this was a good smoking balcony. Sure.
Looks like it. I mean, do most stadiums have a smoking balcony?

Speaker 1 This is the president's. I don't know what the president's just smoking.
This it's like a president's suite up here.

Speaker 1 If I was, I mean, they got a full.

Speaker 3 This is definitely a smokers area.

Speaker 1 So that's like an outdoor patio to the suite. Is that what it is? Yeah, suite's in there.
Okay. Okay, so right behind Gump here.

Speaker 1 Right behind Gumpy there is the suite, you know. So like if you is that where Mike Foss was sitting? Yeah, where the Foss was in the suite.
Is Mick Fist still in there? Oh.

Speaker 1 Second schools. Okay.

Speaker 1 He's sitting back. I don't love that, you know.

Speaker 4 Do the windows open in the presidential suite? suite?

Speaker 1 Uh, not these ones, no, which once again leads me to, yeah, and there's, yeah, Barcode just found a pack of Marlborough SIGs over here. Yep, there you have it.
Just as we thought. Just as we thought.

Speaker 1 Okay, so

Speaker 1 Gumps, why don't you come on over here? Boys, we can't thank you enough.

Speaker 1 Travel out here was crazy. I mean, it was a long time.
Yes. It was a hell of a week.
AJ, thank you for traveling over to Indy, brother.

Speaker 1 There's some fog in Ohio.

Speaker 1 I drove by a super school that had a two-hour fog delay. That doesn't happen very often.
foggy.

Speaker 1 Indiana, yeah, super foggy too, right, boys? Yeah, big time.

Speaker 1 This is a Travis Kelsey's flannel. And since the Colts are playing the Chiefs this weekend, I figured I'd give them a little shout out after the Colts ruin their season.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 It has some fur on it on the outside, but it's comfortable on the inside. He's got a good line with, I think, American Eagle.
I think is who Travis is doing his stuff. This is awesome.

Speaker 1 It is very, very nice. So I just want to show a little respect.
Gumpy, great to be back in Oregon again. Yeah, Eugene, beautiful.
It is beautiful. It is.
Some good shots.

Speaker 1 Especially whenever you can see this stuff. You know, you couldn't see stuff for a while.
Now it's all kind of coming together. Let's take this.
Yeah, it looks great foliage.

Speaker 1 There's Foss. You see him on.
