Speaker 1 This is doing something around uh 60k a day in IP revenue, was soft launched last year's July.
Speaker 1 Downloads wise, it's slowly scaling up to something like 25k a day, which isn't much, but again, because this is sort
Speaker 1 category, which is basically nearing slowly and more slowly towards casual puzzle, which is very expensive. This is still a very big number.
Speaker 1 And then, if you go to
Speaker 2 This is a no-bullshit gaming show where we talk about games and their revenue in great detail, powered by our ad monetization, game design, and user acquisition triple threat expertise.
Speaker 2 Welcome to the two and a half gamers, the unfiltered truth, served with a side of giggles.
Speaker 2
Let's not forget this is a 4 a.m. conference discussion vibe, so let's not take it too seriously.
Tune in now and stay two and a half steps ahead of the gaming industry.
Speaker 1
Of course, new tool, Senator Tower AI. Okay.
Hello, hello, hello, hello. Welcome.
Speaker 1
Welcome again. My name is Matiel Ancheric.
I'm Felix Brauberg.
Speaker 1 And we are are your hosts. And we are going to talk about Blossom Sword today.
Speaker 1 And why are you talking about it? Because it's an interesting case. Again, it's an interesting case, an interesting company
Speaker 1 coming from where?
Speaker 1 China. China.
Speaker 1 Yeah, it has all
Speaker 1 the keywords and catchphrases that we use. But
Speaker 1 that's a nice segment.
Speaker 1 Are you watching this in China or Vietnam or Turkey or perhaps a Russian-speaking country? Don't worry, Two and a Half Gamers has you covered.
Speaker 1 Scroll down to the bottom, press subtitles, and we will translate what we're saying for you because we at Two and a Half Gamers know that some of our listeners are not in English-speaking geos.
Speaker 1 Now, let's get back to this amazing content.
Speaker 1
We really need to do it like the GTA YCT advertisement with the radio. It literally sounds like that.
This is
Speaker 1 amazing.
Speaker 1
Yeah, it's like Korean. I forgot Korean.
We also do Korean. Korean as well.
Yeah,
Speaker 1 not so many people know that your previous job was actually subtitle salesman.
Speaker 1 Subtitle salesman.
Speaker 1 Just bidding for sale for subtitle company.
Speaker 1 Subtitles, anyone? Subtitles?
Speaker 1 Subtitles. Yeah, by the way,
Speaker 1 we,
Speaker 1 good that you mentioned Korea. We are going to be in South Korea in early January because we have an event with Airbridge, Moloko, and Censor Tower.
Speaker 1 And by the time we are there, we also have, and get this, our dear listeners and friends from South Korea, we'll have a South Korean channel with translated and dubbed
Speaker 1 content.
Speaker 1 So it's gonna be there.
Speaker 1 I will post it, don't worry. Yeah, hopefully, everything works out in South Korea.
Speaker 1 Everything works out, which reminds me I need to book the hotel because I still need to do it.
Speaker 1 Okay, now
Speaker 1 share the screen on why we're talking about this and start with revenue and active user base because I was blown away by this game when I first started looking at it.
Speaker 1
I can't believe this is happening. I can see you're blown away.
You're blow away. I think your interconnection is is fine.
It's great. Okay, so let's start with the downloads.
Speaker 1 No, no, no.
Speaker 1
Why are we doing this again? Like our listeners said we should play the game first and then show the numbers. No, I wanted to do the revenue because it's crazy.
It's crazy.
Speaker 1 I know, but he's on level 40. Four people are driving $17 million.
Speaker 1 Don't worry, I'll do it.
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 1 I don't know.
Speaker 1 Let's do it. Let's do the numbers now.
Speaker 1 So,
Speaker 1
why are we talking about these kind of games? So, few conditions need to be met. Very interesting design.
This is not something we have seen before.
Speaker 1 This is not something that's like direct copy one-to-one or something, something. So, there's interesting
Speaker 1 game design.
Speaker 1 Let me finish. Product iteration.
Speaker 1 The numbers prove it, meaning that we see increasing numbers, even though they can be small, the trend line is overall very, very positive, like the slow hockey stick that you see here.
Speaker 1 And And then, usually, there's some kind of like additional USP, some kind of factor like QC
Speaker 1 being suggested by someone, or there's
Speaker 1 very good reasons why this is working as it is, or crazy metrics like Felix will probably talk about, and so on and so forth.
Speaker 1 So, there we go. Revenue-wise, as for the Blossom sort, yeah, what? No, it's just uh, JR blip,
Speaker 1 JR blip, yeah, as usual, sub-liminal messaging at its best, yeah, of course. So this is doing something around
Speaker 1 60K a day in IP revenue was soft launched last year's July. Downloads wise, it's slowly scaling up to something like 25K a day, which isn't much, but again, because this is sort
Speaker 1 category, which is basically nearing slowly and more slowly towards casual puzzle, which is very expensive, this is still a very big number.
Speaker 1 And then if you go to
Speaker 1 the
Speaker 1 countries, countries
Speaker 1
countries, sorry. Countries, as usual, countries, this is important.
This is 65% of revenue is coming from US and then 15% from Japan.
Speaker 1 Everything else,
Speaker 1
no, revenue, revenue. Downloads is 21% against 10%.
And then comes the tier 3, tier 2 countries. Still.
Speaker 1 So
Speaker 1
Jesus Christ. Yeah.
If we go.
Speaker 1 Yeah, that's the same charge.
Speaker 1 Yeah. If we go to active users, that's what we wanted to go.
Speaker 1 Around 210k, let's say
Speaker 1
by now, which is still constantly increasing. Again, US, Japan being on top, and then tier 2, tier 3 countries.
So that's there. I don't even see where's tier 1.
Like UK is here, South Korea is here.
Speaker 1
They're not pushing it on UA. I know they're just spending money in the US.
Not much Europe, it seems. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Go down, you mean?
Speaker 1 Yes, go to active user base. Or what?
Speaker 1 These are active users.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1 So
Speaker 1 83,000 active users that are driving
Speaker 1
crazy high IEP. It's nuts.
It's incredible.
Speaker 1 If we go to revenue, I think we should be able to see RPU
Speaker 1 which is what like
Speaker 1 yeah, our DAO is something like nearly two dollars and the revenue per downloads is
Speaker 1 I don't even see that see the line there, like yeah, US wise is like six dollars. It's like super high.
Speaker 1 So very very good monetization. Um
Speaker 1 we want to see retention.
Speaker 1 I'm don't don't think it's gonna be there.
Speaker 1 Yeah, it's there.
Speaker 1 Not that good, it seems. Like 7% day 30, I would expect more.
Speaker 1
Could also be right. Because I think it is more.
Yeah, it's more. I think it's probably sadness multiplayer applied here.
Anyway, let's go to the actual game. So, really,
Speaker 1 product-wise, what do you see here already from the first look?
Speaker 1
Royal match. Royal match, Matt.
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1
Sales stuff on the right. Engagement stuff on the left.
As usual, battle pass in the top. So this is becoming a very, very clear pattern these days.
Speaker 1 Feature-wise, also stuff like Collectible Album, which is already here, where you can see.
Speaker 1 Yeah, they're following like
Speaker 1 the very, very kind of tried and tested metagame system for casual level-based games. Events-wise, yeah, as usual, very short timer, very pushy, very aggressive.
Speaker 1 Win with other players being matched against you. Then we have
Speaker 1 Guardian Scavenger Hard, again, very similar setup, but again, random players matched against you, are competing against some kind of a top price on a short timer.
Speaker 1 And the last one is, I guess, we'll get to it during the plot, some kind of new unlock feature.
Speaker 1 Yeah,
Speaker 1 decoration-wise, or let's say the
Speaker 1 visual meta-wise style, it's again one of those
Speaker 1 building, not really restoring.
Speaker 1 Why is it even there? There needs to be some visualization of progress, moving from A to B. It's still like needs to be there.
Speaker 1 What I'm saying is that there's only one round down room kind of a thing that you can get rid of in the first step, and that's it. So, this is again following the
Speaker 1 thing that we were talking with Royal Match in Royal Kingdom, that there's no more restoration. It's just building, plain building on clean slate.
Speaker 1
Yeah, but you don't need to then double the assets, yeah. But you don't really build almost anything in here.
Oh, you build, you decorate or
Speaker 1 I did two things because I'm not the target audience for decorating. I hate decorating, so
Speaker 1 I mean, it's kind of nice, but yeah, yeah, okay, fair enough. We're not the target audience, right? We're playing this for the podcast, not because I want to play it.
Speaker 1 Yeah,
Speaker 1
okay. I mean, I kind of like it, it was quite easy.
You have skinny fingers, I have fat fingers, which means that I always selected the wrong flower. It's super frustrating.
I can imagine.
Speaker 1 I can imagine, yeah.
Speaker 1 Whatever.
Speaker 1 Yeah, so you see, like, this is the usual, like, there's nothing really kind of new to this. Whatever.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1
After you finish the room, I would guess it resets and then it goes into another room because this is room one. And yeah, I don't think so.
We have
Speaker 1 the flower shop and blah blah blah. Rooms unlock, so on and so forth.
Speaker 1 Interesting part is that these,
Speaker 1 what's this?
Speaker 1 These other
Speaker 1 journeys and gems, I guess that's some more kind of level progression, like what decorational items you can use in the
Speaker 1 decoration meta, but whatever.
Speaker 1
Yeah, let's get to the gameplay. This is important.
So right out of the bed, there's a streak mechanic, which is really good, which gives you three boosters immediately on the start of a level.
Speaker 1 If you keep it up, of course, there's pre-selection boosters. It already kind of pushes you towards that event that's running currently, so you see the progress of the
Speaker 1
randomly selected players that are fighting against you. Completely fake, how much scripted course.
Everything's scripted, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 Okay,
Speaker 1 so it's a sword game, which means we are matching stuff together that's the same.
Speaker 1 But
Speaker 1 compared to other sword games that are especially in like water sword and all these other sword kind of genres
Speaker 1 uh this has actually much more lenient conditions so we can move stuff around actually so this is a little bit more similar to something like match 3d where you can pick up stuff and then move it like pretty much match it on the bench but we don't even have the bench that that's really interesting so the
Speaker 1 the super super kind of a relaxing part about this that there are pretty much not that many wrong moves but they are wrong moves, and you can break your level. That's the problem.
Speaker 1 That never happened to me
Speaker 1 in the early game, the difficulty is very easy, let's say.
Speaker 1 But for instance, if I just do stupid moves, like for instance, unhide other flowers, like the ones that are behind, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1
So, you block yourself, I can block myself and break my level. So, in the beginning, you need to think at least a little bit because there are mechanics.
There are, for instance, there was this ice.
Speaker 1 By the way, within the level, you can watch the ad and break the ice, like an hexa sword
Speaker 1 then there's these vases which contains flowers which you don't see and you need to kind of take them by order and then yeah as you see i can just take any flowers that i want and move them around doesn't matter and just match them in a trial somewhere in like an empty spot and then it pretty much goes to me being able to kind of move all these things the levels are time-based only and you can still prolong that but why one more minute so as i said it's very very relaxing and linear.
Speaker 1
It's super, super satisfying and relaxing, guys. Just, yeah, it's very calm.
You just sort the flowers, it's really, I mean, I enjoy it. Yeah, you work your way to like through the level pretty much.
Speaker 1
There's not much kind of a pressure. As I said, there are a few mechanics.
I've seen a few levels being marked as hard. It's hard, but it just didn't feel like hard.
Speaker 1 Yeah, it did, like, it's really hard to even build difficulty within this setup. So, most of the difficulty there is is that that's just the like overall moving stuff takes so much.
Speaker 1 Also, those flowers, some of them look very similar. Yeah, that's by design, of course.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1 And I was
Speaker 1 first, I was, I really didn't really get those numbers on the basis as well. Like, what are the numbers? And then I uncovered
Speaker 1
another layer of flowers. Like, ah, okay, now I get it.
Now I get it.
Speaker 1 I felt really stupid. So you see,
Speaker 1 I need to unhide these different flowers that are behind the other flowers to be able to even match them. So for instance, now we want to kind of match one from the waist here.
Speaker 1
I'm so jealous you're playing with a mouse and not my fat finger. Yeah, this is definitely much better.
That helps. Yeah, it helps.
Speaker 1 Because one of the most frustrating things for me was just like, yeah, with my fingers. With a waist.
Speaker 1 Yeah. I know.
Speaker 1 It's hard. Like, we even the
Speaker 1 match 3D games, they are much more comfortable on the emulator.
Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah, because we can easily pick it up.
Speaker 1 It's yeah, it's uh while you play, uh uh at least you can talk actually if it is, even though it gets a little little bit uh hard from time to time.
Speaker 1 I was look looking at the kind of the the the board like what what should I do? I don't see I don't see any moves. They're like oh wait a second.
Speaker 1 There's the red rose and sl slightly different red rolls again. It's like, ah, okay.
Speaker 1
Sometimes you need to literally move the whole combo. Yeah, exactly.
Just to uncover the flowers from behind.
Speaker 1 Yeah, to uncover the flowers so they can finish the other matches that are waiting for you somewhere. Yeah.
Speaker 1 That's there. You go.
Speaker 1 You didn't help yourself. Ah, you did.
Speaker 1
I did. No worries.
Yeah, it's fine. Okay, so
Speaker 1 I think we
Speaker 1 we said this because i it's the company is coming from china i feel like you want to talk about the the chinese background uh or just wait until yaku finishes the the level well i can i can show you because basically i had a look at the adapts txt files right when i was doing the the ads uh so basically it's under two studios so like it's smart imagine and it's under zero maze studio and uh let me show you the website of smart imagined it's kind of funny so if you give me the the screen for a second,
Speaker 1 let me just finish the level. Let me just finish the level, and there we go.
Speaker 1 So, as I said, quite calming and quite easy. Right off the bat, when you finish the level, there's always a choice to watch an advertisement to multiply the soft currency.
Speaker 1 The Santa Claus is the event currency for the Battle Pass, and then this
Speaker 1 rainbow currency that's the decoration currency. Yeah, so if I don't watch
Speaker 1 that,
Speaker 1 then
Speaker 1 it's it's interstitial.
Speaker 1 Nice, because, and I didn't see the interstitial, by the way, and I haven't watched any yet. So 16, level 16 is when they come.
Speaker 1 I'm level 17, and I didn't see it. So
Speaker 1 what? Okay, there you go.
Speaker 1 I'm getting spammed by whiteout survival playables through this.
Speaker 1
The worst ones, because the ones that you need to click on the store, otherwise the X button is not clickable. Yeah.
I don't know why. But this is Bastra, right?
Speaker 1 Yeah, this is Bastion. This is mobile.
Speaker 1 Or something like that.
Speaker 1 Yeah, I think there's like 20 of those games out there already. Yeah, and then pretty much
Speaker 1 the cycle continues. You again get some resources.
Speaker 1 All of these kind of events get reinforced again, which means play, play, play again on the main saga so you can compete or get some rewards on these short timers and then you move on forward.
Speaker 1 In the meantime, when Felix shows us the website, please play the level 29 so you actually get to level 30. So, we know what's the last feature that's on the bottom.
Speaker 1 So, let me show you here. So, this is Smart Imagine's
Speaker 1 website. It's the privacy policy.
Speaker 1 But then the contact us,
Speaker 1 the contact site is at 163.com,
Speaker 1 which is this.
Speaker 1 So, I don't know what 163 is, but
Speaker 1 let me translate it. You know?
Speaker 1
Looks like a news site. Couldn't be translated, so yeah.
Looks like a news site in Chinese. So definitely a Chinese company.
And then on Android, it's SmartImagined. And on iOS, it's Zero Maze Studio.
Speaker 1 And Zero Maze Studio essentially has the Adapps.txt file that's exactly the same as smartimagined.com once is. Zero Maze is actually the real website, but yeah.
Speaker 1
So here, and you can see that they have a cat trip, which is a agava games record. Ah, Agava Games, yeah.
Beauty Makeover, Car Jam, yeah, everything.
Speaker 1 And a nice outlook. Exactly.
Speaker 1 There's definitely like some weird stuff going, but the main important thing is that
Speaker 1
how you check this is basically you go to one of the direct sources. So like the Google one here is direct.
You can do a command find and then the direct.
Speaker 1 And then if you go to the smart Imagined, this is a different web app.txt file, go find, and then it's still the same. So it's the same company.
Speaker 1
So they're getting paid to the same spot, which is this. So it's definitely one company, and they're definitely Chinese.
So yeah, beautiful.
Speaker 1 I mean,
Speaker 1
I really like that now we're doing Panama Paper style investigations. Yeah, but it's like Chinese companies.
It's like you have to scoop through the layers. No one knows what's going on.
Speaker 1 And I don't know why they do it like this, but like, yeah, there must be a reason.
Speaker 1 I mean, usually, Chinese companies have HQ in Singapore anyway, outside of China. So,
Speaker 1 and you know, they go, they go quite uh
Speaker 1 creative with the names and
Speaker 1
companies and everything. So, there you go.
But I watched one ad, and the first thing I asked before before the recording: Are these Chinese? It's like,
Speaker 1 Felix, like, yes, yes, 100%.
Speaker 1 So,
Speaker 1 and I, I, there was one second that I watched one ad, and it's like, wow, okay, so I know I knew immediately. So, I will be testing you guys, my dear co-button.
Speaker 1 The trend kind of goes with some ad monetization trends that we saw when we did the ad monetization episodes: that ad monetization is being pushed later and later if you have a lot of IAP revenue.
Speaker 1 And this game has primarily IAP revenue. So, ad revenue, I estimate, to be 27%
Speaker 1 because the DAU is still kind of low. But basically the ads really start increasing after you play for a while.
Speaker 1
So I estimated interstitials to be about four or five, but on like a 60% ad viewer rate because they come so late. Rewarded ads five.
on 55%
Speaker 1
and then banners about 80 because they also come quite late. But the interesting thing is here is that they've managed to get so much IAP revenue from so few users.
It's quite impressive.
Speaker 1 So, yeah, and it's not really it's not really pushy. I mean, I wasn't really maybe it just comes later down the line, but it's
Speaker 1 a lot of rock match meta works like that. Yes, I know, I know, but honestly, I had that pain point of
Speaker 1 kind of uh trying to pay or just finish the level in Royal Match quite early.
Speaker 1 Rocking down, rocking them because rocking them's not the royal match, but yeah, sorry, yeah, yeah, well, my main pain point here was I don't like this game and I didn't like playing it because all the misclicks.
Speaker 1 So I was using so many boosters to use the hammer, basically. If you share your screen again, Jakobin shows the hammer.
Speaker 1 Yep.
Speaker 1 The rumor has it that the retention of Royal Match and Royal Kingdom is exactly the same.
Speaker 1 Oh, really? Really?
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1
Who did you hear that from? Well, I'm not surprised. Beep.
Those games look like on the surface level kind of the same. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Piggy bang. That's damn.
Speaker 1
Yeah, so hard level. Oh, there you go.
Perfect.
Speaker 1
Use the hammer. Yes.
So it's seven minutes. Eight.
Speaker 1 You see what happened here. You lower the amount of free space.
Speaker 1 So I can bring myself much faster.
Speaker 1 That's that's yeah, we need to we need to leave uh jakob some space so he doesn't really talk and he he can focus on the on on the play time and playing the game because you know the listeners you remove the hammers you have seven hammers use the seven hammers i want to shoot the booster i'll use them when i need them
Speaker 1 yeah
Speaker 1 come on
Speaker 1 how to play casual games use all the boosters yeah
Speaker 1 there you go easy
Speaker 1 how you played the game felix
Speaker 1
i was just trying to get to levels to see the ads right and then then it was just like, God. Yeah, fair enough.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, fair enough. But I you you see, it's the
Speaker 1
same all the time. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Also, this is very is this is terrible game for men.
Speaker 1 We don't see we don't see so many so many colors.
Speaker 1
So many colors. Yeah, so many colours.
It's just uh it's
Speaker 1
there you go. Well done, yeah, cool.
So yeah, it's well done, well done.
Speaker 1 Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1
Yeah, that's the ad. That's the one you have on the left-hand side.
Great. I
Speaker 1 mean,
Speaker 1 it should be in a few seconds. But it's super nice iteration regarding the sorting genre, basically.
Speaker 1 It is, it is. The only thing I didn't really enjoy that much this because I'm not targeting it.
Speaker 1 Yeah, the flowers doesn't really, or don't don't really resonate with me that much. The only thing I want to say on the ads as well is
Speaker 1 the banner ads, I think they're on a super super low refresh rate.
Speaker 1 So basically either they have a really long waterfall, because you can see even here, like since we started playing the game, it's been two minutes and it's still in the same banner ad.
Speaker 1 So something is definitely going on there on their mediation side that they should probably take a look at. But probably what they have done
Speaker 1 is probably what they've done is that they have too many placements in the waterfall for banners and they just need to remove a bunch of placements that are not filling over 1%.
Speaker 1 And yeah, work with them because then you have less latency.
Speaker 1 I kind of
Speaker 1 think when I was playing, I saw the banner ads after level 14, but maybe I was blind before.
Speaker 1 Was it from the very beginning? No,
Speaker 1 level 11 from 18.
Speaker 1
Okay. It comes later.
Yeah,
Speaker 1 it came later. Okay.
Speaker 1 Overtake taking of Flinko loops. What is this? Dude, this game, it's
Speaker 1 and they what their strategy is, because I've had to ban them like eight times with a client. So they started with a game.
Speaker 1 They started they started with a game called Plinko, and then I banned it, and then the same game came up under Plunko, and then now it's overtaking of Flinko Loops.
Speaker 1 So it's just like, this is the this is the eighth one I see, and what they do is like it's complete gaming and gambling. And then they just do fake creatives.
Speaker 1 And then when they get banned, they just re-upload it under like a new
Speaker 1 name. And it's just, yeah.
Speaker 1 Is it the new company or just a new game? A new game.
Speaker 1 Yeah, I think it's both. Like, it's just nuts.
Speaker 1
Oh, my God. Okay.
Plinko, Plinko. Oh.
Plinko, yeah, Flinko. Yeah, Fliko.
Speaker 1 Hilarious. They must have been having a great laugh.
Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1
More rewards. Endless Blossom.
This is what I think.
Speaker 1 Yeah. Interesting thing.
Speaker 1 Oh, this is about endless.
Speaker 1 Oh, wow.
Speaker 1 Hexa sort.
Speaker 1 Kind of.
Speaker 1
Oh, no, no. You need to do line match.
Yeah.
Speaker 1
That's super interesting. So there's actually a different core in it.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Wow. So again, coming back to the
Speaker 1 that's very nice.
Speaker 1 kind of goes with
Speaker 1 the merge or the matching mechanic hasn't been innovated on
Speaker 1 yeah but remind me one thing which I'm gonna show you in five minutes it's in the creatives of course isn't it
Speaker 1 for sure everything is UA that's why they have it
Speaker 1 everything is the UA man yes everything is UA
Speaker 1 I didn't want to say anything, but I guess
Speaker 1 life
Speaker 1 UA is life, yeah.
Speaker 1
This is for sure. UA, I really loved uh, Vasco's question yesterday during the AMA.
Like,
Speaker 1 why do you think people to match uh 3D games, or well, no, the triple Merc CD, they are doing the black and white find the types of creatives besides the CPI?
Speaker 1 Well, there's no one, no other way, it's only because of CPIs, nothing else.
Speaker 1 All right, I want to see some UA creatives now because this is quite interesting. But uh, let's see some UA creatives.
Speaker 1 Let him finish. Let me finish because it's actually moves.
Speaker 1 It moves.
Speaker 1 You could potentially.
Speaker 1
Yeah, think. Think.
Yeah, think.
Speaker 1 Think.
Speaker 1
Okay, good. Ah, easy.
You have Sydney.
Speaker 1 Whatever.
Speaker 1 On the right-hand side, yeah, there's so.
Speaker 1
Yeah, he did it. He did it.
Well done. Even with us hassling, that's really good.
Very close.
Speaker 1 Very close. Oh, you can reward it with the
Speaker 1 interest lab.
Speaker 1 Oh, my God. Play it, play it.
Speaker 1
Superburger. Yeah, roll cookie.
What's happened now?
Speaker 1
Cattle bosses. And it's bosses.
Yeah, you can play.
Speaker 1
30-day pass. Remaining chances.
So, yeah, yeah, you look.
Speaker 1
Reverse. It's completing reverse.
So they basically add a second game mode on level 2. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Pretty much. Force ads.
Okay.
Speaker 1
Oh, no. This is not the second game mode.
So they add a second game mode and a calendar challenge and calendar challenge, yeah, yeah. Play, please,
Speaker 1 yeah, it's a calendar challenge, typical one.
Speaker 1 See, two minutes, thirty minutes 30, yeah,
Speaker 1 oh, yeah, yeah, now it ah, okay, so now it gets interesting.
Speaker 1 What happens if those
Speaker 1 are you moving the bombs? No, no, no, no, the bombs, the bombs go off with every single match, well, every single match, yeah,
Speaker 1 and if they are together, oh my god, this is crazy. Well, match what? I want to see what happens with the bombs.
Speaker 1 Yeah. Ah, you need to match them.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay.
Speaker 1
And every match, it's yeah, it's ticking. The bomb is ticking.
Okay. Otherwise, they would destroy the flowers and break your level, probably.
Most probably, you will all. That's very interesting.
Speaker 1 Very interesting.
Speaker 1
See? They have very good IP revenue because they have a lot of interesting mechanics. Mechanics is everything with level-based games.
Well, no, you ace everything.
Speaker 1 UA is even more.
Speaker 1 No, but this is the combination which is deadly. It's just that this is what
Speaker 1 add monetizations, game design, and UA together, right? It's just a triple
Speaker 1 instead of silent, but deadly, fake, but deadly.
Speaker 1
No, it's not fake. You just played.
You just played it. What are you talking about? Come on.
Speaker 1
Let's see the UA part of the game. No, no, no, look, look, look, look, look.
Look.
Speaker 1 Look.
Speaker 1 So, watch this and tell me
Speaker 1 what do you see?
Speaker 1 Brain trade.
Speaker 1 Mind trick, but how did I see this is a Chinese company? Tell me.
Speaker 1 Alzheimer? It's
Speaker 1 no look. Is it AI?
Speaker 1 No, guys, you don't fucking know.
Speaker 1
Oh, they have the watermark. Yes.
Exactly. Ah, that's so clever.
Speaker 1 Yes.
Speaker 1 Why don't all Chinese
Speaker 1 have Chinese? Because they steal their creatives over there much much frequently.
Speaker 1 This is the trick. So you see every Chinese company exactly because you you
Speaker 1 put the creatives out,
Speaker 1 you go take you get the coffee and then you go back and then ten other companies just just copied your ads. Just just not even copy, just stole it, and then just run it on your
Speaker 1 account.
Speaker 1
Exactly. So, but honestly, I just was also this hook.
Ask because I was diagnosed with us.
Speaker 1
I mean, wow, this is the IQ hook of steroids, basically. IQ hook on steroids, exactly.
Yeah, yeah. And look, so blossom source cures Alzheimer's
Speaker 1 of the obvious. Yes, of course.
Speaker 1 So, this is the second core that you can see the second core,
Speaker 1 yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 I mean, they do a lot of great stuff on the creative side, actually, because I'm I'm just showing you Facebook, they have uh obviously uploading and some other other stuff.
Speaker 1 Yeah, we'll get to that, but this is exactly it. So, it's
Speaker 1 it's all you can you can imagine all the cute stuff, but again, this is
Speaker 1 is mainly uh the second core.
Speaker 1 I I wonder if this is is if this has better CPIs than the actual sort.
Speaker 1 I would say the otherwise.
Speaker 1
And of course, decoration. It's like redecorating the gameplay.
Looks exactly like a redecor ad.
Speaker 1
I was working with a few decoration games, and the CPIs were quite low for decoration. So I can understand why they're doing this.
How much? How much do I know?
Speaker 1 I know like 20%, I think.
Speaker 1 Maybe. But
Speaker 1
the game was about decoration. So I couldn't really show anything else.
End game screen is everywhere. Yeah, but
Speaker 1
they're still one step behind because they don't have the best. Best accounts.
The best accounts.
Speaker 1 The best accounts, exactly. So
Speaker 1 they have some interesting stuff.
Speaker 1
Marble cake. Yeah, marble cake and the watermark.
It's there. And nail polished finger.
Well, that's the thing. Nail polish is very important.
Speaker 1 Don't forget, but yeah, don't forget, forget, but it's very, very important.
Speaker 1 This also like the music. You know, you can you can't hear it because your ears probably
Speaker 1 explode. But again, hello.
Speaker 1 All of this.
Speaker 1 Where did you see it? Yeah, with all m match 3D games, basically. So this is.
Speaker 1
And also, yeah, also that one. Yeah, the shelf, the shelf background is good master, basically.
Shelf on the shelf.
Speaker 1 Anyway, it's
Speaker 1 oh, Arzen is just sending me
Speaker 1 text messages. He's using Sora now, so it's it's gonna be most probably
Speaker 1 very interesting.
Speaker 1 Is he AI? No.
Speaker 1 No, but
Speaker 1 did you read the text messages? No, it's my grandma sent me.
Speaker 1
It also cures the dog. No, no, no.
Grandma sent me her dog so she
Speaker 1 can focus on playing blossom source.
Speaker 1 This is brilliant.
Speaker 1 This is brilliant.
Speaker 1 There's some like office space in China and these guys are like, hmm, Alzheimer's.
Speaker 1 Alzheimer's. No, like, but
Speaker 1 again,
Speaker 1 this is all it needs to be. You remember the grandmind, the creatives, the old, good old,
Speaker 1 great old lady, which was just
Speaker 1
like on all the creatives out there. Actually, Obivan Kenobi style creatives.
Yeah.
Speaker 1
It's just insane. There's this dog and it's free to download.
Like
Speaker 1 it's not no ads, but it's free to download. Like, what is
Speaker 1
I don't know, man. Anyway, so it's all of these.
And this is all on Facebook.
Speaker 1 And again, nail polish, really, really, really nice music and then calm, you know,
Speaker 1 but
Speaker 1
of course, butterflies, everything. It's very slow.
It's really, you know, there's no timers, nothing. So you actually enjoy watching this.
You want to play this because you want to relax
Speaker 1 and embark on a vibrant journey, whatever that means.
Speaker 1 And we have also
Speaker 1 the water sword because why not?
Speaker 1 So all of this.
Speaker 1 And you know,
Speaker 1 have you
Speaker 1 counted the number of different creatives we just watched?
Speaker 1 Exactly.
Speaker 1 A lot of different concepts,
Speaker 1 and that's that's beautiful.
Speaker 1 So, that's uh, this is why they can um grow so so quickly, not so quickly, but they can go like steadily from where they were before, and they're just still growing because
Speaker 1 this is they have 61 pages on Facebook only. Ah, there you go, what is this? Very good!
Speaker 1 So, they have all of it, all of them, pavid matching pyramid, yeah, they're yeah, match factory pyramid. They know what they are doing.
Speaker 1 I'm really
Speaker 1 positively surprised.
Speaker 1
Like a checklist with someone. Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, yeah. So, so which
Speaker 1 impression story all over again? We need new creatives. How many of concepts? All of them.
Speaker 1
All the concepts. Everybody's winning.
Yes. How many
Speaker 1 concepts? Yes. Yes.
Speaker 1 I mean, Jakubi, you mentioned it when we discussed that. Like, what's the
Speaker 1 brief for the creatives? It's usually check competitors, take all their creatives that they ran last week, make them.
Speaker 1
Let's produce all of them. Easy.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Like, what's the brief? Like, do this.
Speaker 1 Everything.
Speaker 1
Oops. It's also coming from the different sorting games and the match 3D kind of games.
It's all.
Speaker 1 Sorting game. called good swords or whatever it's called.
Speaker 1 Flowers being threatened by snake or by rock. No, no,
Speaker 1 no, no, no. I didn't see any.
Speaker 1
That could be actually interesting. No, it's the only seniors and outside.
I don't want to see her again. Oh my god.
No, no, no, don't worry. No, don't worry.
Don't worry.
Speaker 1 We're going to go to actually, you know, outside of Facebook because they're running like majority of the stuff is up lab in Unity and then upload in Unity.
Speaker 1 And guess what? It's all playables. Like first
Speaker 1 page is all playables.
Speaker 1
Really nice music. I feel.
Oh, and that
Speaker 1 look.
Speaker 1
And there's a guitar in the background. Oh, my God.
This is beautiful. I really enjoy it.
Speaker 1
Continue download. So there you go.
Another one.
Speaker 1 Look, it's just
Speaker 1
so many. Wait a second.
Do you think this gameplay is completely new and they innovate it or did they steal it from someone? What do you think? What do you mean new?
Speaker 1 I think it's quite new. Like,
Speaker 1 think of it as, let's say, water sort.
Speaker 1 So
Speaker 1 they
Speaker 1 removed one of the main rules, which is you can only connect the sorting pieces onto the same pieces.
Speaker 1 Which is broken here because you can move the flowers anywhere you want. There just needs to be space.
Speaker 1 That's the main principle. So it gives you a much more easier time and much harder for the level designer to create difficulty, actually.
Speaker 1 But because they are now doing with the timer,
Speaker 1 it creates the difficulty
Speaker 1
basically itself. Like that, that's what I'm saying with all of these other new sorting games.
Probably we'll just see them being on a timer.
Speaker 1 Still, the problem is if you break your level, you don't know you break it. And because it won't tell you, and then you will just like being clicking for the rest of the time.
Speaker 1 But it's still like up to three minutes. But for the like relax, wow, what's this?
Speaker 1 Whoa,
Speaker 1 slimy balloons. It's like, but
Speaker 1 nobody cares. Like,
Speaker 1 this is, yeah, this is great. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 Somebody has an LSD idea.
Speaker 1
LSD for seniors? That's perfect, though. Like, it's cures Alzheimer's for sure.
Man,
Speaker 1 I see myself playing that game that doesn't exist, but basically
Speaker 1 I would have two fat fingers to do anything.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1 And I'm also really liking that there's no bench or the flowers or anything, like additional inventory or something. It's just that
Speaker 1 you just need to kinda manually move them around. That that that's it, which is the like I think the source of this kind of calming thing because you
Speaker 1 like that's that's like one of the main motivations, like this like cleaning up the room thing.
Speaker 1
It's very common, everybody wants to do it. It's just very calming, very satisfying, and it's very structured.
That's why it's so good.
Speaker 1
Yeah, it's uh it's really nice. It's really, really nice.
I can see why is this uh uh doing so well, and
Speaker 1 I can all also see why is this coming from China. I mean,
Speaker 1 next next year it's gonna be, um,
Speaker 1 you know what, we are just deconstructing games where they base the company chang in china like
Speaker 1 what's happening in china this this this month this is
Speaker 1 no but but i mean like looking at their portfolio the company portfolio you can see that they are just you know following kind of latest trends and trying to innovate and this is pretty much the one that actually made it so this is not like one-time something it's just that they were doing this again
Speaker 1 It's still hard work.
Speaker 1 It is, yeah, of course.
Speaker 1 So,
Speaker 1 oh, nice, guys.
Speaker 1 I need to start wrapping up, unfortunately. Of course.
Speaker 1 I'm done.
Speaker 1 I showed you everything, everything I wanted.
Speaker 1 Light episodes for today.
Speaker 1 It's already 40 minutes, and we discussed everything that we needed to discuss. We don't really need
Speaker 1 four hours always, so it's okay.
Speaker 1 Just go into the
Speaker 1 hour long episodes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 I think, like, uh, it's a very interesting case, very interesting case, similar to something like we saw with like Triple Merge City.
Speaker 1 Again, these very innovative, level-based puzzle genre kind of setups that are kind of trying to storm in and disrupt the category. These are way more prepared for scaling
Speaker 1 because of the creative work and the
Speaker 1
channels. You know, like the first page of all the old creatives were just playables.
We saw five different playables, seriously. And this is not even that
Speaker 1
big of a scale. It's what, like one and one and a half million or something in the last couple of days or three days.
So it's growing.
Speaker 1 And it's going to grow after Christmas and early next year for sure because
Speaker 1 the setup they have at the moment. It suggests that they can grow quite quickly after the old Christmas crazis is done.
Speaker 1
That's my prediction, by the way, for next year: that the sword category is going to be disrupted very heavily. Then Solitaire category.
Solitaire. Yes,
Speaker 1 watch solitaire and you'll see. Similarly, how Domino was
Speaker 1 like by the way. Yeah,
Speaker 1
Casualzi has a solitaire. I know, I know, I know.
So, that one, and then Hidden Object. Yeah,
Speaker 1 yeah.
Speaker 1
All right. So, yeah, I think that's it.
Thank you very much for listening.
Speaker 1
Go and check the three-hour-long episodes, which we did with Match 3. It's definitely worth it.
Um,
Speaker 1 please subscribe, comment on the YouTube, uh, and also share
Speaker 1
friends. Yeah, check the subtitles, and see you next time.
Join the Slack channel as well. Bye-bye.
