Speaker 2 The Grizzlies are the eighth seed. They will face the OKC Thunder with a 12106 victory in the last final play-in game.

Speaker 2 The Grizzlies were great. Jaron Jackson, 24.
Zach Eady, 15 and 11. John Morant, 27, 9, 22, 9, and 7.

Speaker 2 Desmond Bain, 22.

Speaker 2 Scotty Pippen Jr., 13. Aldama, 11.

Speaker 2 Boy, A.D. came to play tonight.
Rich, I know you watched this game, Mitch. A.D.
came to play. P.J.
Washington played 27 minutes. He and I had the same number of points.
I was on a flank. Zero.

Speaker 2 Derek Lively played 20 minutes. Derek Lively, the second, played 20 minutes.
He also had the same number of points that I had. And you had, Rich, Mitch.
And you had, Ocho. Zero.

Speaker 2 Martin, Caleb Martin, he played 11 minutes. I scored him.
We both had zero points. Vincent Denwaiter, he didn't get in a whole lot.
He played four minutes.

Speaker 2 Zero points.

Speaker 2 Dante Exham, he played 13 minutes. He had three more points than a 57-year-old with two replace hips.

Speaker 2 You're not going to win when you get that kind of production. When you get two starters, Mitch, and you know this.
You get two starters and they play 20-plus minutes and you

Speaker 2 and you think you're going to be the team on their home court. That's not going to happen.
What did you like about what you saw from Memphis tonight, Mitch?

Speaker 2 And what didn't you like about what you saw from the Dallas Mavericks? Well, for Dallas, I don't think everyone came to play for sure. We just mentioned that.

Speaker 2 And Davis did need a lot of help today.

Speaker 2 He should have would have, I mean, I think if he'd have had Kyrie, it would have looked a lot better, but they didn't have anyone that could really kind of take anybody off the dribble

Speaker 2 other than Williams, the point guard that comes off the bench.

Speaker 2 So they had a lot of trouble just really kind of creating their own shots. And Anthony Davis is the best at creating a shot for one of the biggest mans that's in the game.

Speaker 2 But for the Memphis Grizzlies, man, I like what I saw. You know, they had a balance scoring.

Speaker 2 Somebody came to play. And I'm looking forward to this next series because they match up very well with OKC.
But OKC, you know, has been the team all year. So it's going to be how they play.

Speaker 2 When you look at this, and I agree with you, I think they match up because they got a big Zach Eady goes 7-4. You got Jaron Jackson.

Speaker 2 So when they put their two bigs out there, Hartenstein and Chad Homer, you got a great matchup. The question is, can Zach Eady go outside and defend at the paint?

Speaker 2 Because Chad Hong is going to spend a lot of time. He's going to drag him out the deep.
So if I'm thinking,

Speaker 2 I'm going to put Zidi on Hartenstein because I know Hartenstein is no threat for him to shoot no three shots, three point shots. I ain't worried about him.
I'm going to put Jaron Jackson.

Speaker 2 on Chad Hongren because he can slide better. He's more mobile.
He's more agile.

Speaker 2 And he's a threat on the offensive end because I got to take some of that zap out of him on the defensive end by making him play defense so his offense suffers as they go there. But I agree with you.

Speaker 2 When you look at the balance score, and you had three guys that gave you at least 20 in your starting lineup, every left, six guys played double figures, and they didn't play a whole lot of minutes.

Speaker 2 Jerry Jackson played the most minutes, 36. All the rest of the guys, 32, 33, 33, 30.
So there's not a whole lot of exertion going on. I don't know when they play.
When is the game? Sunday or Monday?

Speaker 2 Sunday. So

Speaker 2 they got a quick turnaround. Yes.
But hey, I'm in the playoffs. I like this matchup.
Ocho, you watching this game? What'd you like? What'd you think about what you saw from the Grizzlies?

Speaker 2 Well, listen, from the Grizzlies, they played really well. Bain, phenomenal.
Ja Maron was going to do what Ja does. Everybody else, collectively as a group, everybody contributed.
Everybody scored.

Speaker 2 On the other side of it, again, again, it makes Nico look ridiculous. Now, I understand Davis.
I mean, Anthony Davis had the game of his life.

Speaker 2 He had 21, 20 some, 20-some points at the half, had 40 at one point. I think might have been the third or the fourth quarter, but nobody else showed up.
PJ had a donut at the half.

Speaker 2 Clay Thompson really wasn't getting any shots in the first half. He showed up a little bit in the second half, creating shots, doing what he does down in the post, in the block.

Speaker 2 But still, nobody else showed up for the Mavericks. Anthony Davis, obviously having to be hero with no help tonight, is why they lost the game.

Speaker 2 Yeah, he gave you 49-2 or still of the block. And that's what's most disappointing.

Speaker 2 I think AD acquitted himself very well, but nobody's surprised by A.D. playing like this.
I don't care if Jaron Jackson was a defensive player of the year. A.D.
is going to score on anybody.

Speaker 2 We've seen him against some of the best, be it Nicola Jokic, be it against Giannis, be it against Joellen Bede, Anthony Davis.

Speaker 2 This is what frustrate people about him, Mitch, is that we see him give Joel and Biade a 40 piece. We see him drop 40 on Jokic.
We see him give 30, 40 to Giannis.

Speaker 2 And then all of a sudden, he'll come up and play a game where he have nine points and eight rebounds. And we're like, what the hell, AD? I'm not surprised that AD had a 49 and two game.
No.

Speaker 2 Nobody should be. Because

Speaker 2 he's that good.

Speaker 2 The problem is he's not consistent as he should be, given his ability. He could put the ball on the floor.
He can finish at the rim. He can play with his back to the rim.
He's a three-level.

Speaker 2 He got a mid-range. He can shoot the three.
Now he's not great at it, but he can get to the free throw line. That's what is sometimes

Speaker 2 frustrating about AD is because you see what he's capable of when he comes to play. Go ahead, Ocho.

Speaker 2 Well, listen, listen, I'm not a professional basketball player, but I do got eyes and I do have common sense. AD didn't have a choice but to play like this tonight, huh?

Speaker 2 The nights, when he does have nine points, he has help. Yes.
He has help to make up for the production that he doesn't have on those nights that he's off.

Speaker 2 Now, a night like this, when nobody else is helping and scoring and putting the goddamn ball in the hoop, he don't have no choice but to have a night like this.

Speaker 2 And he's one of the few players in the NBA that can take over a game that's a three-level scorer. He can shoot from three.
He's not that high efficient. He ain't no goddamn Steph Curry.

Speaker 2 He got mid-range. He can take your ad down in the block to whatever you want to do.
So in order for them to have

Speaker 2 any type of consistency until they get the big dog back, and this is what we talk about next year, Ryer comes back and obviously have some other help collectively.

Speaker 2 It's going to be a long time before

Speaker 2 grace is given to management for the choices and decisions that they made in shipping Luke out.

Speaker 2 Because could you imagine how in the hell we ship Luke out based on some stuff that had nothing to do with off the court and the stuff that he does on the court is going to continue to show up for the next decade somewhere else when it could have been us, when he just took us to the goddamn finals last year.

Speaker 2 Right. Right.

Speaker 2 Yeah. I mean, I think what we talk about AD, man, AD is the first ballot Hall of Famer, no doubt about it.
But I think we always see that some of those games where he should be demanding the balls.

Speaker 2 We saw a lot of the late game where he started out very well, but he just float through the whole game without even asking for the ball.

Speaker 2 And I think sometimes we need to see that, you know, that toughness of him is just say, hey, man, give me the goddamn ball. But he never, never does that.

Speaker 2 And so he just float through the game sometimes and then you forget about that he's on the court, you know?

Speaker 2 Yeah, when you have a guy that that kind of skill level, yes, because people don't realize, ain't he 6'10 and a half. He can put the ball on the floor.
He can handle the ball.

Speaker 2 He can play with his back to the basket. That's what he likes to play.
See, he's in a perfect situation. He's in a much better situation in Dallas than he is, than he was in L.A.

Speaker 2 because they didn't have big. If you go back and look at AD, when he played his best, what did they have around him, bitch? They had Javel McGee.
They had Dwight Howard.

Speaker 2 So he basically played for the entire game, except the last five minutes of the fourth quarter. He played played the four.
Yes. Now, the last five minutes of the fourth quarter, he's playing the five.

Speaker 2 Go back and look at his stats. His first year there, that was his best year statistically.

Speaker 2 Led the team in scoring, led the team in rebounding because he was always, because you got three bigs.

Speaker 2 He could always play the four until the final five minutes of the ball game, and then he slid to the five, which he didn't have a problem with.

Speaker 2 Now he goes to eight, he goes to Dallas. What do they have? Derek Lyler II.

Speaker 2 AD can play the four. Daniel Gafford, he can play the four.

Speaker 2 Powell, he can play the four. You see? So in a situation, theoretically, Ocho, he's better in Dallas than he was in LA because they got bigs around him.

Speaker 2 So he can play his natural position, a position that he feels most comfortable playing because he's made it abundantly clear.

Speaker 2 He said, go back and look at me when I was in New Orleans, when we had Boogie, and I could play the four. Look at my numbers.
And he ain't lying.

Speaker 2 Yeah, but I think at times, though,

Speaker 2 I think at times, though, like you said,

Speaker 2 he's better at the five, though. Once you try, when you have shooters around him,

Speaker 2 they're a better team at the five because sometimes he falls in love with the outside game. Yes.
You know, assert himself like when he's a big man, when they want him to play big man.

Speaker 2 And we know when he first came in the league, AD was a runner. Yes.
He used to be the big man down the floor. So when he played the five, he drove the big man crazy.
A.D. don't run no more.

Speaker 2 See that? He jogs down. You know, he's into these little steps.
But this guy is, he's so efficient. When he gets the ball, he makes a play.

Speaker 2 And the one thing I do like about him is he played at that other end. He blocked shots.
He really

Speaker 2 defender. He held weak side.
You have to do a lot of different.

Speaker 2 But Mitch, here's the thing, though, is that when you look at AD, and every once in a while, he'll get that late, that early leak out. He'll get the galloners back.

Speaker 2 They throw the ball down and he'll get down there. But see, the problem with him playing the five, AD don't want to bang.
No, he don't want to do more than that. You seen it.

Speaker 2 You play the five. You play the five, bitch.
You got the bang. Right.
But, but who really, but, but who really banging? Chad, who really banging?

Speaker 2 Matter of fact, that's what I was raising my hand. I was raising my hand.

Speaker 2 I got to raise my hand like I'm in class, you know, like I'm a student. So I was just getting ready to ask you, is it better?

Speaker 2 Does he like being at the five for the simple fact that the game has changed? Right. The game has changed.

Speaker 2 They're not really down there banging like that as opposed to how they used to be back in the day. Right.
When you want to get your points, you got your big man down in the box.

Speaker 2 He posts up and you're getting the ball. The game of basketball has changed from that

Speaker 2 general where he feels comfortable being at the five.

Speaker 2 If you want to come out, he can come out and face up. or take somebody off the dribble and do what he needs to do.
Right.

Speaker 2 Yeah, we got to remember when Anthony Davis was in high school, he was a point guard. He was tall.
He grew 11 inches or whatever. He

Speaker 2 became a center. And so he wants to be out on the perimeter at times.
You know, I think a lot of big guys see Kevin Durant and they want to mimic that type of play because Kevin

Speaker 2 is 6'11. He can do it all.
And they mimic, they want to see that right there. They see themselves doing that.
Even Boogie Cousins.

Speaker 2 Boogie Cousins wanted to get out on the perimeter a little bit.

Speaker 2 Even Shaq wanted to get out on the perimeter and do his thing and show what can do.

Speaker 2 And that's the thing because AD's looking at it like, Man, I get injured the most when I'm playing, when I'm playing the five because all that banging, I'm stumbling over people, they banging, they banging on me.

Speaker 2 I don't have that, I don't count, have that kind of oomph in my body. And like you said, there ain't a whole lot of guys that he got to bang with.

Speaker 2 You got to bang with Joel and B, you got to bang with Jokic, but those are really the only centers. Every once in a while, you'll bump into a

Speaker 2 Sabonis, but Sabonis ain't really no, ain't really, I mean, he crafty, but he ain't ain't like, he ain't really gonna get you no 30 like a yoker ain't 30, 40, even 50 on you. Same with Joel Limbi.

Speaker 2 Giannis is a guy that's looking to run. Giannis is looking for cracks.
He's gonna try to slither his way through the

Speaker 2 crack, Eurostep you, and get to the thing. But

Speaker 2 AD has made it up in his mind

Speaker 2 that I need to be at the four. And ain't no, you ain't not gonna be at this point in time, 12, 13 years in, Mitch.
You're not gonna convince him that you better at the five. Right.

Speaker 2 No, no question about it. And we look at the centers today.

Speaker 2 The centers don't run down and post up in the middle of the paint. Maybe Edie, he's probably the only one.
Yeah. Centers now, they really create the offense.
They at the top of the key.

Speaker 2 They either throw a handoff. They're sending the pick at the top so they can dive, but they never really running down the lane and getting to the middle of the basket and using those easy baskets.

Speaker 2 Yeah, they want to be on the perimeter so the game truly has changed.

Speaker 2 Could you go back and look, study Shaq? When Shaq says Shaq's first eight years? Yes. Look how Shaq was the first one down the court.
Every time. Every time.

Speaker 2 He was slim, though, when he was in Orlando. Yeah.

Speaker 2 He was running straight to the front of the rim. He was going to, they're going to throw it into him.
He was going to drop step and he's going to put everybody in the basket. That's right.

Speaker 2 You just hope he didn't pull it down on your head.

Speaker 2 That was the thing. So the Memphis Grizzlies, they defeat the Dallas Mavericks 120 to 106.
They advance. They HC.

Speaker 2 They go and face the OKC Thunder, which we believe is going to be

Speaker 2 a great matchup.

Speaker 9 This is the story of the one. As a maintenance supervisor at a manufacturing facility, he knows keeping the line up and running is a top priority.
That's why he chooses Granger.

Speaker 9 Because when a drive belt gets damaged, Granger makes it easy to find the exact specs for the replacement product he needs.

Speaker 10 For 25 years, I've explored what it means to heal, not just for myself, but alongside others.

Speaker 11 I'm Mike De La Rocha. This is Sacred Lessons, a space for reflection, growth, and collective healing.

Speaker 13 What do you tell men that are hurting right now?

Speaker 15 Everything's going to be okay on the other side, you know, just push through it.

Speaker 14 And, you know, ironically, the root of the word spirit is breath.

Speaker 10 Wow.

Speaker 17 Which is why one of the most revolutionary acts that we can do as people is just breathe.

Speaker 2 Next to the wound is their gifts.

Speaker 18 You can't even find your gifts unless you go through the wound.

Speaker 19 That's the hard thing.

Speaker 18 You think, oh, I'm going to get my guests. I don't want to go through all that.
You got to go through the wounds you left.

Speaker 20 Listening to other people's near-death experiences, and that's all they say.

Speaker 22 In conclusion, love is the answer.

Speaker 24 Listen to Sacred Lessons as part of the My Gutura Podcast Network.

Speaker 10 Available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 25 If one of us wins, would we all win?

Speaker 26 I'm Ashley Reitfeld, and I'm the host of the Women's Skateboarding Podcast. Good luck with that.

Speaker 26 Good luck with that is a skateboarding podcast that is part cultural record, part news brief, mostly group therapy, and a place to talk about the past, present, and future of women and gender expansive skateboarding.

Speaker 26 This week, me and my co-hosts, Nora Vasconcelos and Alex White, White, we have Babiana Delfina on the show, a professional skateboarder from Florida whose crit was forged in a family of athletes.

Speaker 26 Tune in to hear how she broke into the boys club, what it takes to be pro, and why just being grateful you're here shouldn't be the price of entry.

Speaker 27 Maybe the industry thinks that we just started skating five years ago because that's when they maybe started paying attention.

Speaker 26 It's a no-fluff conversation about putting in the years, stacking clips and receipts, and still having to prove your worth while the industry catches up.

Speaker 29 You break down the door, sick, now like hold the door for everyone.

Speaker 26 We created good luck with that because we want to share our experience of existing in an industry that wasn't always built for everyone.

Speaker 26 So listen to good luck with that on iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 30 Greatness doesn't just show up.

Speaker 2 It's built.

Speaker 2 The last two weeks, Luca shares tears, returned to Dallas, drops 45. Nico Harrison doubles down on the trade.
There is no regret. Mavs CEO compares the Monte Ellis for Andrew Bogan.

Speaker 2 No, that's not it. Dirk Daviski, completely turned off by the Mavs.
Mavs lose to the Grizzly and the play-in one year after making the NBA Finals.

Speaker 2 Mitch, and this is what I said. Yeah.

Speaker 2 I understand. Look, I understand, Nico.
It's kind of like, Ocho, in our situation, Roger Goodell.

Speaker 2 Roger Goodell don't make no rules. Those are the owners.
Now, he gets all the blowback, but that's why he makes 60 million.

Speaker 2 Because every time he comes up there, Ocho, to read a card, what do the fans do? Boo. They show his pitch on the jumbotron wherever he's at.
What do the fans do, Ocho? Boo.

Speaker 2 No question.

Speaker 2 Nico Harrison, you know this bitch, been around the game as long as you had.

Speaker 2 General managers can't make a move like this. This is ownership saying, trade Luca.
We're not trying to get a bought for $350 million over 70 years. No question.

Speaker 2 And when you're a GM, you know, you have to take that hit because the owner is going to put it on you, even though that he's making the decisions.

Speaker 2 And when you make a big decision of trading Luca, you know you had to talk to someone and someone had to pull that trigger and so that i i truly think it wasn't just nico nico had to take the hit and he had to double down again that it was my choice and i know he's getting a lot of heat for him he's a good man but man they they are on him for this one no question about it

Speaker 2 Mitch, I'm glad you're on here.

Speaker 2 Maybe you can give me a better perspective outside of the perspective that I've already heard from analysts, from Pundish, from Hunk, from everybody else that's been on the show.

Speaker 2 But to hear, let me, I want to hear from your mouth, for someone who's played the game for a very long time at a high level if you were management

Speaker 2 if you were a gm yes would you let someone like luca go based on what he's done in such a short amount of time understanding what he does for your team based on the the the things they said that worry them right paying him long-term money because he drink beer and smoke hookah Yeah,

Speaker 2 you know, this is a tough one because Luca is, he was Dallas, he was the Dallas city. Yes.

Speaker 2 Dallas maverick home rolling he was home running he got the city back when dirt and whiskey took him to the championship and won so for me i think you know as a general manager sometimes you have to have a little pushback too as well it's like hey man this is gonna be tough man to even pull this off maybe we need to get five or six guys for luca because if you'd have put him on the on the on if you'd have put him out there and said that you were trying to trade him you would have got five or six guys back maybe it would have made the deal look even even better.

Speaker 2 And we're sitting here talking about like Luca went for a bomb. He went for one of the best players of the league in

Speaker 2 AD. And we still said that wasn't a good trade.
You know what I mean? So

Speaker 2 this is a tough one, man. And it may,

Speaker 2 it propel Lakers out of, you know, propelled Lakers for some reason. failed them up and they looking like a totally totally different team than they did yeah well in the

Speaker 2 year yeah and the funny thing hung when you think about it too mitch

Speaker 2 let's say they did put him out there on the market, right?

Speaker 2 And they did get AD for him for the trade. But let's say it was a market, all teams were available.
Right.

Speaker 2 What five or six players are you going to get that's going to be equivalent to that one when he does go somewhere else? Right, right.

Speaker 2 The ones who, and the ones who are just as good enough, they're not letting him go from the team that they own because that's their team's identity. Yes.
Yeah. Well, look at it like this, Ocho.

Speaker 2 When the Clippers

Speaker 2 traded traded uh shea for paul george.

Speaker 2 Yes, do they think shea was gonna be this, or they would have never traded because they wouldn't, they wouldn't have pulled the trigger, so you don't, so you don't know, that's right, and and plus they got draft compensation.

Speaker 2 I think the thing is: okay, you get AD, you get Max Christie, Mikael Bridges went for four first-round picks, Boody Gobert went for players in four first-round picks.

Speaker 2 You get AD, Max Crispy, and one first-rounder. I think that's where people are saying, hold on, wait a minute.
Hey, this thing had

Speaker 2 the job, the job.

Speaker 2 But that tells you right there that it wasn't just Nico decision at that particular time. No, it wasn't.
No, no, no, no, no. Yeah, Nico being a general manager.
He's looking for assets.

Speaker 2 He's looking for something to get back my player. I want to have something so I can see in the future.
Kind of like what OKC has been doing for years. Yes.

Speaker 2 You know, they're packing those first round picks. They're getting second round picks.
They're creating and they're building a team as each year goes.

Speaker 2 So you know it had to be the owner's choice in this. Of course.

Speaker 2 Now

Speaker 2 the Alderson family purchased it. I think the son-in-law runs it, Josh Dumont.

Speaker 2 You look at what OKC did, Ocho, when they traded Russ. Yes.
Patrick Dumont.

Speaker 2 They got first-round picks. They got assets.

Speaker 2 When they traded Paul George, they got Shea Gilders. They got Galinari.
And they got pick swaps. And they got first-round picks unprotected.

Speaker 2 So now Shea turns into into what he turns into now the one thing we can say about sam prescribed he know how to draft he drafted kd he drafted west westbrook and he drafted james harden yes all of those plays all those players are top 75 players of all time all players have won

Speaker 2 mvps so he knows how to draft right right jalen williams boom and he's wheeling and dealing he gets a caruso he trades for a lou dort you see, now he gets a Hardenstein in free agency.

Speaker 2 He drafts Chad Hombry.

Speaker 2 So obviously, he knows what he's doing. And I think the thing is,

Speaker 2 it's reported. We don't know.
It's being reported. They reached out to Minnesota.
Would you take Luca for Anthony Davis? Click.

Speaker 2 They reached out to Milwaukee.

Speaker 2 Anthony Edwards. Anthony Edwards.
Excuse me. Anthony Edwards.
Ant-Man. They reached out to, hey, Minnesota.
What about Luca for Ant? Click.

Speaker 2 Okay. They they called milwaukee hey guys what what uh what about yannis for uh uh uh luca click

Speaker 2 so now

Speaker 2 because the more you call around it's gonna get out mitch this thing gotta be secreted secreted it

Speaker 2 see what i just said though look at the name you just called they are the team's identity and heartbeat yes they ain't letting them they letting them go so when mitch when mitch say you know okay we put them on the market for five for five or six players well the five or six you're gonna get is still probably gonna be equivalent to the goddamn AD coming over there, right?

Speaker 2 Right. Now, maybe you a

Speaker 2 maybe you go, maybe you go to Phoenix. Hey, what about KD?

Speaker 2 What, what, and they don't, they don't really have, they don't really have, they don't have a whole lot because they gave up so much to get KD. Because see, you got to scan around.

Speaker 2 So I look, the best player that they probably could have gotten,

Speaker 2 Boston's not trading to Jason Tatum. So don't even even call them.
Right. Right.

Speaker 2 You can't get Booker. So basically, okay, Ant-Man, no.
Giannis, no. You're not getting your kitchen from the Nuggets.
Who can we get? Yeah.

Speaker 2 And I've got a personal relationship with Rob Palinka.

Speaker 2 Hey, Rob, now Rob's going to keep it hush, hush, because he really wants this thing to go through.

Speaker 2 Because now we got the bridge for the next decade with LeBron steps, whenever that is, after 23, after 24, after 25, 25th season, we got a bridge for the next decade.

Speaker 2 Of course. So, but for me, look, you can beat Nico up all you want to.
He's low-hanging fruit.

Speaker 2 And her men say, hey, I'd have told the ownership. They say, hey, you see that check? It got your name on it.
Now, if you still want this check to have your name on it tomorrow, no fault.

Speaker 2 I mean, we can say what we want when we over here right now. But I think Nico had to make a conscious decision.
You know what I mean? He's in a job. He's still doing his job.

Speaker 2 And if the owners, he got to understand, he got to speak. If his owners say that they want to make this trade, you can argue all you want.
You can put your points up.

Speaker 2 But at the end of the day, hey, I got to do it. And

Speaker 2 yo, and Luca going to the Lakers.

Speaker 2 You know.

Speaker 2 Probably any other team, he probably would have still been out of shape. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Going to the Lakers. It really like now you with LeBron.
Now you know

Speaker 2 how to get in shape. You know, you want to show Dallas that, hey, man, y'all made a terrible choice.
Oh, yes.

Speaker 2 It's getting himself back in shape. He's in better shape than he first got there.
So that team, I mean,

Speaker 2 it looks,

Speaker 2 it looks going to be difficult. I mean, it's going to be difficult in the playoffs because they set up very well in the bracket right now.
They don't face Denver early. You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 So they set up very well.

Speaker 2 And the sec, in the early game, the Heat regroup after losing an early lead. They brought Hold on, the who? The who? The Heat.

Speaker 2 Okay. I just want to, okay.

Speaker 2 I want you to keep that same energy you had when you went ISO. Joe was on here talking about

Speaker 2 he was going to lose. Okay, but go ahead.
I'm going to let you finish my bad. The Heat regroup, they beat the Hawks in overtime, 123 to 114.
Tyler Hero was on

Speaker 2 one again.

Speaker 2 30 points, sink two big threes in overtime. Let me get this.

Speaker 2 He was, you you know, he scored 30. I think he scored 38 the first game when they beat Chicago.
He backed it up with another 30-point game. He got 20 points from Andrew Wiggins.

Speaker 2 He got 17 and 11 from Bam. He got 12 points from Highsmith off the bench.

Speaker 2 And they got 16 from Davion Mitchell. He played 40 minutes, did a great job.
Trey Young did have 29 points, 11 assists. but it took him 22 shots.
So that's what you want to do with a score.

Speaker 2 Look, I'm not saying I'm going to shut you down, but I'm going to make you

Speaker 2 as least as inefficient as I possibly can. So if you get 29 shots and I force you to take 22 shots to get them,

Speaker 2 you got to live with that, Mitch. Yeah, yeah.
You know, you got to be proud of Donovan Mitchell, man.

Speaker 2 He's just been.

Speaker 2 He's been in all of that, man. He's got an opportunity now in Miami to play some minutes, to play some solid minutes.
He plays it hard, bro. Yes.
Works out hard.

Speaker 2 I've seen him in the summertime of what he does. The guy works out hard and he demands on that defensive end that you give him respect.
Now he's hitting a three-point shot.

Speaker 2 So I'm so happy for him to get an opportunity, man, to play and show that he can play in this league and play big minutes. Yeah.
Matter of fact, hey, brother Mitchell, I know you're going to see this.

Speaker 2 I want to say I salute you. I love you.
I appreciate you for backing me on Unk and Iso Joe who said we didn't have a chance against the Hawks.

Speaker 2 I appreciate you, the fact that you playing both ends of the course and you showed out tonight, boy, I'm going to be that court side. You hear me? I'm going to be that course side.
Tallero, thank you.

Speaker 2 Everybody that didn't believe in us. Now, I told people earlier, and they're probably going to laugh at me again and say, oh, I'm a casual fan.
I don't even watch basketball.

Speaker 2 But when we come out the east, when we come out the east, I want everybody to remember, oh, I'm going to keep the same energy, keep the same energy. You must come on an airplane.

Speaker 2 That's the only way y'all coming out of the east on a plane. Y'all calculate to beat the East.
Y'all not going to beat them teams in the East and come up. Hold on, hold on.
Hold on, hold on.

Speaker 2 We got the number one C, right? We got the number one C, right? We got the Cavs, huh? You got the Calves. Y'all playing.
Yeah, y'all playing the number one C. Y'all ain't got the number one C.

Speaker 2 I know we ain't got the number one C. I'm saying we play.
I'm saying we play the number one C.

Speaker 2 So what's going on? I got a question for you, Mitch.

Speaker 2 And for the chat, too. What's going to happen? And don't try to say it was a surprise, and don't try to say it was upset.

Speaker 2 What's going to happen when he eliminate eliminate the Cavs in the seven game in the seven-game series? I mean, we got to say that.

Speaker 2 What y'all going to say then? No, no, we can't say nothing. if they if they upset the calves then we gotta give them some problem timeout time out time out it's not gonna be upset okay

Speaker 2 listen before the playoffs started before the play-in started i said once the heat made once the heat made it we coming out the east but that is that's an upset that's an upset ojo

Speaker 2 cleveland that's an upset come on listen i i respect brother donovan mitchell i respect garland i respect the boys out there but it's not going to be an upset i told you it was going to happen before it happened so it's not an upset All right.

Speaker 2 All right. You got you.

Speaker 2 All right.

Speaker 2 You got something? You got something to say? Nah, Davion Mitchell played really well. He grew up near my hometown.
He's from Liberty, Liberty, Liberty County.

Speaker 2 Fort Stewart, the Army base,

Speaker 2 is close by. But he played really well.
He played outstanding defense. He shot the three ball well.
He's 4-9 from the three.

Speaker 2 You know, again,

Speaker 2 the number two pick in the draft,

Speaker 2 how you say his name,

Speaker 2 Richard?

Speaker 2 Richer?

Speaker 2 For the Hawks? Yeah. Oh, man.
He had three points.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I can't pronounce it. He had three points.
Yeah. Riche,

Speaker 2 he had three points.

Speaker 2 And he played 16 minutes. So that tells me that Snyder was like, bro, I see you ain't got it tonight.
Let me get you on the bench. Because George Miang played 26 minutes.

Speaker 2 Carris Lavert, 37 minutes. Terrence Mann, 25 minutes.
So, and the other guy played 15 minutes. So, and they had six points between them.

Speaker 2 So, that lets me know that Snyder knew early on that they didn't have it. And he tried to get some guys in there that could give him some production.

Speaker 2 So, that's why you see your role, your bench players play way more than your starter. They only played 16 minutes, and this is a 48, a 53-minute game.
So, when you look at it, they did not play a lot.

Speaker 2 No, but

Speaker 2 what do you like about what what is it about the heat that they find a way they always do

Speaker 2 they tough find ways to summons up they tough and get a win they tough they tough because they jumped out on atlanta playing great team defense um and you know you know tyler hero i mean he is

Speaker 2 He's tough. You know, he got a little frame on him, but he doesn't take any smack.

Speaker 2 And when you got Mitchell at the point guard and you got those guys playing hard at balm out bio and you got pat riley in that in that locker room as well as spolster they demand you to play on the defense and and if we're gonna lose we're gonna lose it all we're gonna put it all out there and they do that every night

Speaker 2 hey

Speaker 2 yes you want to go with you want to know what's special about the heat what's special about him

Speaker 2 we're talking about hard nose basketball

Speaker 2 it ain't prick We're gonna put our hard, we gonna put our hat, our hard hat on, we're gonna put our Tims on.

Speaker 2 We're gonna put on our utility belt ain't nobody out there flashy we ain't got no super duper superstars you know we got fam we got tyler you know we got a good supporting cast and we're gonna go out there and play basketball on both ends of the court yeah on both ends and that's what you're gonna get night in and night out

Speaker 2 now when we go when we go to cleveland and we give and we give cleveland that belt the ass And they come to Miami,

Speaker 2 and they get that belt to ass again. And then everybody's going to be like, oh, I can't believe it happened.
Why can't you believe it? It's what we've always done. I know we lost Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 2 I know we lost Jimmy Butler, but the team morale is still there.

Speaker 2 Mitchell picks up for what we lost in Jimmy Butler. Tyler Hero is picking up

Speaker 2 with 30, two 30-point games back to back. Bam,

Speaker 2 bam.

Speaker 2 And everybody else going to fit in where they fit in, and we're going to make it happen.

Speaker 2 Anybody in the chat that's laughing or saying, I don't know what I'm talking about, oh, you don't know basketball, bet me.

Speaker 2 Bet me.

Speaker 2 Those bigs are going to be very interesting

Speaker 2 because the back court is sensational with Garland and Mitchell. You got the two bigs, Evan Mobley, who's a defensive player to your candidate.

Speaker 2 You got another rim protector guy can defend, Jared Allen. Jared Allen is a guy you don't have to run plays for.
You can run, hey, he'll lob threat and you're going to get it off the rim.

Speaker 2 Hey, bro, you want 12 points? Hey, roll to the rim and get it off the rim and go get back home.

Speaker 2 That's your outfit.

Speaker 2 That's the plays we run for you evin mobley we know what he is he's a tremendous defender and he can go get you 20 points double and double digit rebounds those two back courts that's where that's what the cavaliers are the back court yeah the backcourt they made the trade for uh uh deandre hunter they got ty jerome they got guys yes

Speaker 2 that can that can can punish you when you when you try to help off

Speaker 2 on uh uh Donovan Mitchell and uh Darius Garland. Yeah,

Speaker 2 they're a pretty solid team. If you look at them in the East, their makeup is

Speaker 2 kind of similar to OKC with the bigs. They play two bigs.
The Bucks led by the backcourt. Yeah, exactly.
But

Speaker 2 they don't shoot it outside, but they do pack the paint. And

Speaker 2 they play their bigs. They make you play their size.
And so they're going to be big over Miami. So Miami really got to gut it out because they're going to be bigger.
Yeah, you're right about that.

Speaker 2 So that's going to be a very interesting,

Speaker 2 very interesting matchup.

Speaker 18 You think, well, I'm going to get my gifts. I don't want to go through all that.
You got to go through the wounds you left.

Speaker 21 Listening to other people's near-death experiences, and that's all they say.

Speaker 22 In conclusion, love is the answer.

Speaker 2 When Luca was honored by Dallas with a tribute video, he acknowledged there was one clip that struck him the most, his game-winning three over Minnesota Timberwolves

Speaker 2 center Rudy Gobert last year. Luca faces the Wolves game one and said would be a welcome to seven-foot Goldberg trying to guard him again.

Speaker 2 Since I came into the league, they like to play pick and roll. I like to get the center on me.
JJ thinks, well, he thinks there's not a person in the world that can guard him.

Speaker 2 So I think he takes that seriously. And that's the matchup.
You know what? The thing is, is that you think about Gobert, Mitch.

Speaker 2 Here's a guy that's won four defensive players of the year. Right.
And he becomes unplayable late in the ball game.

Speaker 2 How are you a top-notch receiver?

Speaker 2 And I got to take you off the field late in the ballgame.

Speaker 2 You're a top-notch running back, and I take you off the field and and and late in the ball game he is a four-time defensive player of the year and late in the ball game mitch he's unplayable

Speaker 2 i see this all

Speaker 2 but i think

Speaker 2 they keep putting him in the same position

Speaker 2 they pick they they do a pick and roll and it's really sometimes a lazy pick and the guy just goes and start guarding the big and leave him out on the island with some of the best players in the game.

Speaker 2 You know, he cannot guard those guys no he cannot guard them so they they have to find some way that these guys got to fight over the pick and gobert do not get an opportunity to even be on luca at the end of the game be on kd be on these guys when he's playing they got to fight through the pick and keep gobert in the paint that keep him in the paint

Speaker 2 excuse me excuse me i have a question right rudicobert he's won defensive player four four times, right? Yep.

Speaker 2 He's won those awards based on what he does inside the paint. Right.
Yeah. Where is he? Where is he a liability?

Speaker 2 Out there in space. Exactly.
Out there in space. So what they're going to do.
They're going to pick him every time. Yes.

Speaker 2 Because guess what? Even if you try to, I'm just going to, I'll just bring a shooter in the game. So if he stays ass in the paint, I'll shoot shooter round threes on his ass.

Speaker 2 Now, now I'm going to keep picking because I'm going to bring him. He's got, look, the guys are too good now.

Speaker 2 It ain't like you just, you know, you normally, Mitch, when you play, you have one guy that can really let it go. You have the guys he got hot.

Speaker 2 Those guys now, if you let them shoot, shoot around threes, they're gonna make you pay. So they can't hide him.
It's just like your quarterback now, Ocho. You can't hide him.
You remember before?

Speaker 2 You can hand the ball up to the running back. We had

Speaker 2 now. We had shooters.
It was just the game. The game is spreading now.
Yeah,

Speaker 2 I don't want to to disagree with you mitch but on average there are more shooters now than when you played well how how they play now everyone is shooting threes no question about it because i'm gonna tell you why is that because sometimes in these games you see two point guards in the game yes you know what i mean you see two point guards you see a three man playing the four So it looks like they're better shooters because you've got small wings playing from one to five.

Speaker 2 And so everybody is done spread it out. No question question about it that they take more threes than we do.
So the average is out and no question about that. Yes.

Speaker 2 You got to understand how they're playing again. They playing five.
Sometimes they're playing five out.

Speaker 2 Yes. Man, four out.

Speaker 2 They playing. Kyrie plays the two, basically.
Yes. He plays the two all the way through the game.
So they're playing smalls all the way because we played it at Golden State.

Speaker 2 We played small ball where we created one through four, one through five. Our center shot threes.

Speaker 2 So we shot more threes than most teams in the league uh because of how we played but yeah i i understand getting back to the point i don't lost my thought now but now you good i don't lost my thought because you jumped on there talking about y'all jumping about

Speaker 2 i jumped on no question

Speaker 2 but these guys these guys now because now they used to be a big yes if you were if you were 6'10 you played the center position yeah you a all that talk about you a big the only yeah because that's what made magic the anomaly because normally a six nine guy you are a power forward or a center right magic came in you're a point guard how your big ass go play point well that's what happened and now you got guys like yokic shooting threes joella bed shooting threes anthony davis shooting threes chet wimby seven threes and a half seven four shooting threes man

Speaker 2 and i got

Speaker 2 before you talk chico um uh ocho

Speaker 2 so i'm sorry that's it ocho but check this out

Speaker 2 The bigs don't take advantage of their size. No.

Speaker 2 So if Gold Bear is in the game and he is

Speaker 2 getting killed on the perimeter, the first thing he should be doing is running

Speaker 2 and posting up under the basket.

Speaker 2 Sometimes he has a small on him. He does.
They want to give him the ball. No question.
He got to learn how to score in the paint. But he has to try to dunk everything first.

Speaker 2 Dunk everything.

Speaker 2 You got to dunk everything first. I'm filing his ass.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 You got to, we don't put nobody. They don't put nobody in foul trouble.
So if a little guy guards me, I'm going right in the paint and I'm going straight up. They're going to foul him, but

Speaker 2 they don't take advantage of that. You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 I don't understand. Listen, I'm not a coach.
I'm not a coach. But if I understand, even though he's a four-time MVP, Divas MVP, if I know late in the game, he's a liability.

Speaker 2 he had no quick pitch fibers why not just go small understanding that if they do get him out of space they're going to pick him because they know they're going to have somebody in there smaller and they're going to be able to create space every single time.

Speaker 2 Right. Because you don't have rims.
You know he's a liability at the end of the game.

Speaker 2 Because

Speaker 2 they want that. If you get beat off the dribble, you got a seven, you got a four-time defensive player of the year to protect the rim.
So that's what you want.

Speaker 2 Because now you take Rudy Golbert off, got beat you off the dribble, it's a layup.

Speaker 2 That's why they keep him in the game. Hold on, but they hold on.
They're keeping him in the middle of the game.

Speaker 2 Hey, Mitch. Right.

Speaker 2 They're keeping him in the game, right? But he's still a liability. So they run the plays to bring him outside the paint

Speaker 2 on purpose. That's right.

Speaker 2 He had no choice but to come out. That's right.
And they're doing the same thing every time. When Luca get that shot when he had to come out last year.
Yes.

Speaker 2 They ran the play in purpose. He made him come out of the paint.
Yes. Right.

Speaker 2 Mitch. It's the same thing they do with Luca.

Speaker 2 They put Luca in the pick and roll because they know he can't defend.

Speaker 2 and if you go watch they'll hunt him out yeah it's like nope i don't want him bring me luke bring me luca yeah so yeah hey if i get a fish what i i just can't let him get off the hook i just got to bring it i got to get him i got to bring him to the boat right that's the only thing that's what we say if i got a fish on the line hey just don't let him go

Speaker 2 yes sir

Speaker 2 keep the line tight on your don't let it hey don't let it don't give no slack so he can shake the shake it out his mouth hold it right that way is hey and we're gonna keep do we're gonna keep running it until they stop it yes no question about it but we always see ends up on luca he he he ends up on those guards i don't know how it happened like yo i think they just got to continue to keep fighting through the pick you got to get it back in front of luca because luca is going to terrorize he no one can guard him anyway no but you putting a center on him and he just looks like he's going to go to the basket and take that step back gobert can't get back he can't get back to that shot He can't bother it either way.

Speaker 2 No. No.
Because all Luca's looking to do, Luke is looking, first of all,

Speaker 2 if you do get back, if you get in a situation, if you get on the side, Luca wants to get on the side because now he's going to cut you off. Now he got you on his back.
Yes.

Speaker 2 And now he's going to pause. And the moment he feels you bump him in the back, he's going to get the shot off.
So you're going to get a foul and you might give him an A and one.

Speaker 2 He is very crafty because he's bigger than you think. He's stronger than you think.
He can play through contact. You cannot speed him up.

Speaker 2 And

Speaker 2 his vision.

Speaker 2 You trap him. He's like a LeBron.
You trap LeBron. LeBron's like, okay, that's you.
Okay, you was guarding this guy. This guy's open in the corner over here.
Or this guy's open over there.

Speaker 2 Or I need to snap or the hammer pass. Or I need to clear a cross-court pass.
That's Luca.

Speaker 2 All he is is a younger white version of LeBron, a guy that can control the game. There are very few guys that can control the game, Mitch.
Luca and LeBron are one.

Speaker 2 They just happen to be on the same team and now you got three guys luca ar and lebron that can get you buckets so if one guy is having an off night the other two can carry the load now if all three are on yeah you got your hands full that night hell boy yeah hey hell have you ever seen you ever seen how they guard luca overseas

Speaker 2 nah okay you need to check that out because overseas he can tell you that if he says he says he done said it publicly that it's easier to score in the NBA than it is overseed

Speaker 2 I believe it the one thing they do when Luca comes off that pick

Speaker 2 they jump him trap him yeah okay you bless him but they don't they they don't even they don't even they don't even trap him they just jump him and turn his back make him get the ball okay yeah and make him turn his back for the other guy to come and get back in front of him when you got luca who can really pass the ball and he sets a pick and i got my shoulders

Speaker 2 uh narrow i mean i got my soldiers so i mean uh shoulders facing the basket i got five positions that i can throw the ball to right when you in the pick and roll you're supposed to only have one pass you're trying to get that guy one pass to to to uh to get an outlet and that's to the sideline not down the lane not right corners but when they they play luca now

Speaker 2 He has five positions that he can score it. He can pass it.

Speaker 2 But overseas, they jump him that they make him get it, get it, get out of his hands or make him hold it a little enough so he don't come around that corner facing this, I mean, his shoulders facing the basket.

Speaker 2 So it's a little different how they playing. Yeah.

Speaker 2 You know what, Mitch? I heard it when he said that. I said, man, you out your man.
I heard Jokic. He said it's easier to score in the NBA.
So I'm thinking, I'm like. bro, what are y'all talking about?

Speaker 2 You understand? They got the best players in the world. That'll be like saying, Ocho, you know what?

Speaker 2 It's easier playing football in the UFL than it is the nfl are you serious right but you gotta now that you mentioned because they understand

Speaker 2 yes it's like oh no and the rule the rules are different you can knock the ball off the ceiling you can do all that they play the olympic the febler rules are a lot different than american basketball rules so and america might need to adopt those rules so we wouldn't have such a difficult time uh mitch when we go to the olympics that that's why we have that's why we have two or three games that we have to get adjusted to when we get over there in the Olympics.

Speaker 2 I played in the Olympics as well. You know,

Speaker 2 it was a time that we were a more physical team than

Speaker 2 the overseas game.

Speaker 2 Now that has changed because

Speaker 2 they set hard picks. You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 They play more difficult. And

Speaker 2 I don't think they have the three-second lane rule we have. So they kind of pack the paint a little bit.
So they pack the paint on Luca a little bit. So he has some bodies in there when he goes.

Speaker 2 So it's totally a different game. And plus the thing, they don't have the athletes.
So they got to play with this. That's right.
They're going to backdoor pass your ass. They're going to cut.

Speaker 2 They're going to screen. They're going to do all the things.
They're not reliant on the athletic system. Not one time have you ever heard of a European guy, boy, he's really athletic.

Speaker 2 When you look at Dirk, you look at Sabonis, you look at Jokic, you look at

Speaker 2 Luca.

Speaker 2 Now, Petro, and you were in the league when Petrovich was playing. Oh, he could get it.
He was a bucket. No question.
No question. He could really shoot it.
Yeah. You look at Deadlift Shrimp.

Speaker 2 All those guys, you look at a Rick Schmidt, all those guys was

Speaker 2 non-athletic, but they understood because they came out of playing in that era. Right.
No question. No question.
A little bit more fundamentals. They had to really rely on the fundamentals.
Yes.

Speaker 2 At-Man told reporters that he's relishing the chance to battle LeBron James over a seven-game series. It means a lot to match up against him.

Speaker 2 Man, probably goes down as the greatest player to ever play the game.

Speaker 2 So, trying to put trying to get putting him out of the playoffs under my belt is going to be a tough one, but it's going to be a fun road.

Speaker 2 What you think, Mitch?

Speaker 2 I think Lakers.

Speaker 2 I think Lakers, I like Minnesota. I think they don't match up very well with the Lakers.

Speaker 2 You know, Reeves is

Speaker 2 Reeves is a hard, hard guard as well.

Speaker 2 And when you got,

Speaker 2 well, what is his name? What is it?

Speaker 2 The Asian dude?

Speaker 2 Oh, Rui. Rui.
Oh, Rui. Rudy.
Rudy, when you got him,

Speaker 2 you know, hitting shots and hitting open shots. They're a tough guard.
And, you know what?

Speaker 2 They're playing team defense. They look

Speaker 2 playing team defense. And I've never seen that with even with Luca, you would have thought that they would struggle.
They still go after him, but Luca is really trying to play a little bit

Speaker 2 sometimes. But their team defense is so much better, but I don't think Minnesota has enough to take them.

Speaker 2 Because here's the thing,

Speaker 2 I would say to Luca, if I'm telling him, just don't let the guy beat you off the first move.

Speaker 2 Make him go to the second move, because if he beats off the first move, we're probably not going to be able to get there in time.

Speaker 2 And so if we can make him go to a second move, maybe that gives us an opportunity. Because the problem that they got,

Speaker 2 Mitch, is that Luca's not a great defender. AR is not a great defender.
And LeBron really only tried tried to defend in spurts. So

Speaker 2 you're playing with three guys out there that's really not defenders. Now, you might have Phineas Smith, who's one of your own ball defenders.
You get Vanderbilt that comes in.

Speaker 2 He's your own ball defender. But you give up so much offensively when Vanderbilt comes in the game because he's not an offensive threat.
So people slump off him. And now I can help on LeBron.

Speaker 2 I can help on Luca. I can help on AR.

Speaker 2 But I agree with you. They have to play because they really don't have.
I mean, Jackson Hayes is a help defender. He's not an on-ball defender at seven foot tall.
No, he's a rim runner.

Speaker 2 He's a lob threat. He'll get it off the rim and give you some second chance points.

Speaker 2 But they have to play team defense in order for them to have a chance to win because they don't really have a great, they don't have a Davion Mitchell. They don't have a holiday.

Speaker 2 They don't have a Derrick White. They don't have guys like that that can on ball pressure you.

Speaker 2 and hound you like some of those like some of the guys that I mentioned. Yeah.
Listen, you know, I love, I love Han's confidence. I love his confidence.
I love what he's saying.

Speaker 2 I love that he's talking. I love that he's willing to face the challenge and show people what he can do.
But like you said, Mitch, like you said, that they just don't have enough firepower.

Speaker 2 They don't have enough firepower. Even if you make LeBron or you make Luca and you make everyone else exert all that energy on the defense end, on the defensive end, and think that might

Speaker 2 somewhat deplete them offensively. Yeah.

Speaker 2 You obviously need outside of Anthony Andrews, you need everybody else collectively to be able to show up in a seven-game series.

Speaker 2 And

Speaker 2 it's not going to happen. It's not going to happen because a night where Luke is off, then LeBron, LeBron and Ruey and Austin Reese might be on.

Speaker 2 A night that LeBron is off, then Luke is going to be on. And it's just collectively as a group, they're a much better team as a whole,

Speaker 2 as opposed to the Wolves.

Speaker 2 I love Ant. I love the confidence.

Speaker 2 He probably going to show up. He's going to show up.

Speaker 2 They don't got nobody to stop him.

Speaker 2 What is everybody else going to do? That's the problem. Right, right.

Speaker 2 And I'm looking to see, you know, this is the playoffs though. So I'm looking to see if they change up any way how they play Luca or how they play LeBron.

Speaker 2 Like, this is the time to do it now, where you really zeroing in on a four-game series. Then you try different things.

Speaker 2 So maybe one of those things might stick. So I'm pretty sure that they, you know, in the draw

Speaker 2 on that,

Speaker 2 in practice or when they're in their meetings, they're trying to come up with different ways that they can play LeBron or they can play Luca.

Speaker 2 So it's going to be interesting to see how they come out and do that, though. But we know Ant going to show up, no question.
But it's going to be incumbent that Julius Randall.

Speaker 2 plays extremely well. And now we know he's capable of.
Now, Jew Randall, he's a big body guy.

Speaker 2 Look, he likes to go. He likes to go to that left hand.

Speaker 2 He can occasionally knock down the three-point shot, but he's a big body guy he's gonna post you up he's gonna you know so i think the thing is the interest interesting matchup because this is probably the first time that we can question lebron probably the second option for the first time in his career 21 years

Speaker 2 he he he liked the second option and if you said that you're like okay i ain't been to bite you you've never been able to say that at any other point in time in his career no no not not at all but you got

Speaker 2 you got two you got two guys that when they have the ball they're the first option so when has it he's the first option when when you know when luca has it he's the first option and reeves now done got into the mix where he he don't have to pass the ball because he's so efficient in hitting his shot so yeah

Speaker 2 they're they're a different team of of how they playing now and and uh luca is the number one guy that you know he's the number one ball handler he can rest he can rest now a little bit on he don't have to do all all of the things.

Speaker 2 He doesn't have to be the guy that can make all of the passes. So, yeah, it's going to be interesting.

Speaker 2 I like the fact

Speaker 2 that Luca handles the ball because LeBron is better off the ball than Luca. I can put LeBron in the dunker spot.
I can put him in the pick and roll. He can roll to the basket.

Speaker 2 Luca is not really a roller. I ain't put Luca in the dunker spot.

Speaker 2 I ain't put Luca in the dunker spot. But Luca,

Speaker 2 off the ball,

Speaker 2 he can catch and shoot.

Speaker 2 I like LeBron there because,

Speaker 2 like you said, it takes him off the ball. He doesn't have to exert himself nearly as much.
And Ochoa and I was talking about this. They might have gave LeBron another two to three years with Luca.

Speaker 2 They're not, Mitch. No question about that.

Speaker 2 Yeah, and they're going to reload this summer.

Speaker 2 Yeah.

Speaker 2 So, yeah, they're trying to get fresh bodies for him so they can, you know what I mean? Like, he don't have to do all of the work. Now you got another passer that can pass like him.

Speaker 2 So, I mean, we wasn't looking at the Lakers to be at the number three spot.

Speaker 2 If we were talking about the summertime and coming up into this season, it was a lot of doubt of where they were going to be. Yes.
Now that they done made it to the third spot,

Speaker 2 pretty remarkable, tell you the truth. It is.

Speaker 25 If one of us wins, will we all win?

Speaker 2 Wow.

Speaker 17 Which is why one of the most revolutionary acts that we can do as people is just breathe.

Speaker 2 Next to the wound is their gifts.

Speaker 18 You can't even find your gifts unless you go through the wound.

Speaker 19 That's the hard thing.

Speaker 18 You think, well, I'm going to get my gifts. I don't want to go through all that.
You got to go through the wounds of your left.

Speaker 2 Damian Lillard has been cleared of his deep vein thrombosis and is no longer on blood thinning medication.

Speaker 2 The Bucks didn't give a timeline for Dame's return, but said he'll continue to increase his on-court basketball activity.

Speaker 2 He won't play Saturday for game one of the Bucs playoff series against the Pacers.

Speaker 2 Mitch,

Speaker 2 what is the Bucs ceiling? If they, let's just say, okay, we know he's not playing in game one. What is their ceiling if they get Dame back at some point in time? Let's just say he comes back game.

Speaker 2 Let's just say for the sake of argument, the first two games on the road, he doesn't play. He comes back for game three.
Dame comes back for game three. What are the Bucs buck ceiling

Speaker 2 man can they get out of the east

Speaker 2 ah

Speaker 2 i think they have an opportunity to get to the the eastern conference finals no question about it uh if they're healthy if dame come in with the right um i think mindset they done i think who they they just got the guy from uh what washington uh kyle kuzma kyle kuzma oh you kind of know him got a little bit uh no i'm just saying

Speaker 2 he doesn't he he's a he's a great great player at the third position the third you know third or fourth position he's a great he doesn't have to be the leader you know he could he was a great player at that uh but yeah i mean i i think nobody's still gonna you know take over boston uh i think boston is is the team to beat cleveland i think cleveland can get there and and that can be the eastern conference friday but i just think milwaukee is um right where they at

Speaker 2 I see Cleveland and Boston in the finals.

Speaker 2 See, this is what I'm talking about. This is what I'm talking about.
First it was Uncle, then it was Iso Joe. Man, here we go again, Mitch.

Speaker 2 What I do. What I do.

Speaker 2 We talk about who coming out the east. And the first thing you say is, you say, maybe the Bucs.
No, no, no. Maybe the Calves.
No, he said Boston, maybe Calves. Yeah, I say Boston, maybe Calves.

Speaker 2 I said. But how the Calvin, I just told you early about 20 minutes ago, the Calves weren't even getting past the East.
So how do you got the Calves?

Speaker 2 You know what? I forgot you was on that. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, homie. I'm sorry, homie.
I'm sorry you're still on that Miami heat. That's what we messed up.
Right. We're sorry about that.

Speaker 2 I'm going to give you a chance to fix it. Go ahead.
I'm going to let you fix it. You're going to let me fix it.

Speaker 2 Yeah, go ahead. You know, you know, I mean, I just told you, you know, that's my hometown too, homie.
That's all. I'm Fort Lottie in Florida.

Speaker 2 But I think Cleveland got him, bro. I think Cleveland got you.
I think Cleveland got him. Okay.

Speaker 2 I got something better for you. Can we get a bet?

Speaker 2 Can we get a bet?

Speaker 2 Let's put something on the floor for you.

Speaker 2 Make a fucking life for yourself. What you want a bet? I mean, I'll race you in 100.

Speaker 2 Man,

Speaker 2 Mitch, you man, your hamstring gonna pop. You're gonna look like somebody's a sniper shot your ass.
I'll raise you in 100, homie. Let's go.

Speaker 2 Listen, hey, I'm in shape, right? I'm still running. I give you 30 meters.
I give you 30 meters in 100.

Speaker 2 Ain't no way, bro. I'm on the stair climber, babe.
I'm ready.

Speaker 2 You got a Mitch. I play soccer every day, Mitch.
I play soccer every day. Okay.
Yes. full field 40 minute halves i'm still running like that all right well i'll take that back then my bad

Speaker 2 go ahead and take that back you're right you're right you're right i'll lose that but hey man get off these miami heat man i love them i love them i love pack rattle i love everything they're doing but i i don't know if they can get past cleaving

Speaker 2 you know what this this is similar to the same story in the bible like david and goli they had they had no faith

Speaker 2 that's gonna be they had they had no faith in david okay and right now basically the heat

Speaker 2 of David.

Speaker 2 Y'all better get some slingshots and some smooth five pebbles or something.

Speaker 2 That ain't happening, baby. They ain't happening, man.
It's so funny. Listen, you two don't believe the chat.
The chat, I can see y'all.

Speaker 2 I see y'all talking trash, talk about what am I smoking and what's wrong with me. I'm delusional, but when it happens, I don't want to hear nothing.
Okay.

Speaker 2 Hear nothing.

Speaker 2 John Sally says the NBA banned all NBA footage before 1974 he also said will chandler was 7-3 and could run a 4-5-40.

Speaker 2 i mean he was athletic i mean i the footage that they show you see him getting up up and down the court they changed the rules right they changed the rule for real he was just too i mean you're never gonna see a guy His record, I mean, for some of these records, they might as well just take him down.

Speaker 2 Ain't nobody gonna get 23,000 rebounds. Ain't ever.
Right, right. Nobody's gonna average 27.

Speaker 2 He averaged two seasons where he averaged 27 rebounds a game that's crazy he averaged 25 rebounds a game while averaging 50 points a game yeah he was 40 people thought it was oh man that was an anomaly he'll never do that again so he said you know what i'm gonna average 44 and 27 the next year after averaging 50 and 25.

Speaker 2 man i got a question and i mean i mean no disrespect i haven't been able to see the footage yes

Speaker 2 of him back then at the time, obviously being able to average 27 a game, whatever it might have been.

Speaker 2 Is there a comparison to him? And I mean this in no disrespectful way.

Speaker 2 Is there a comparison to him in today's basketball game? And the first thing that comes to mind is Wimby from an athletic standpoint. Is there any kind of comparison? No.

Speaker 2 You got to realize he could run. He could run a sub, he could run damn near 49 seconds into 400 meters.

Speaker 2 He could shot 50 feet. He could high jump almost seven feet.

Speaker 2 No, no, there's no compare. Now, maybe Shaq, because Shaq is more athletic than you think.
Yeah. People don't realize that.
I'm because you look at it. You look at him smaller.

Speaker 2 You look at Shaq. No, but Shaq was really, really athletic.
Shaq could catch. Shaq could run.
Now, I'm not saying he had will speed, but Shaq. He was the closest.
He was the closest. Yes.
Yes. Okay.

Speaker 2 Yes. Yeah.
He was the closest. No question.
Yeah. What was unbelievable, bro?

Speaker 2 Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2 He ran the 400 meters. He threw the shot put.
He high joke.

Speaker 2 uh he had a lot of a lot of numbers and no okay i ain't going there go ahead

Speaker 2 mitch we're gonna get you out of here on this one okay who

Speaker 2 who

Speaker 2 your mvp and who is gonna get the larry o'brien trophy

Speaker 2 man

Speaker 2 uh larry o'brien i know i know for sure shay has to get it this year uh you mean the mvp Yeah, the MVP. No question about it.
You know, that team is number one. They've been winning all year.

Speaker 2 He's been showing up, showing out for the last two years in a big way.

Speaker 2 No question about it.

Speaker 2 I think that Shea would get MVP. Now, the O'Brien trophy,

Speaker 2 man, I don't even know.

Speaker 2 Give me the criteria on that. No, you got okay.
You got Boston Thunder.

Speaker 2 Who's going to win the championship this year?

Speaker 2 Oh, man. Oh, Jesus.

Speaker 2 He

Speaker 2 come on.

Speaker 2 Oh, man, that's a, that's, man, that's a tough one, bro.

Speaker 2 If I have to go back, I would have to go back to the defending champions so I wouldn't get myself in trouble. You know what I mean? So I would have to go back to the defending champions.

Speaker 2 I think what changes is who they meet in the finals this year, you know.

Speaker 2 So

Speaker 2 honestly, bro, I think the Lakers have a good chance to get into the finals this year.

Speaker 2 I think I would say that in the beginning of the year, no question about it. But

Speaker 2 do you see OKC and the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals? I do. Championship?

Speaker 2 I do.

Speaker 2 That

Speaker 2 can't be that.

Speaker 2 You know, I like, I like that, though. But if you see the Lakers and OKC in the Western Conference Finals,

Speaker 2 who you got winning the finals, though, to go to the championship? Lakers in five.

Speaker 2 That's it?

Speaker 2 Lakers in five. Yeah, we got, yeah, Yeah.
Yeah. Okay.
All right. All right.

Speaker 2 What is that? What's their record this year? What is the split? Between OKC, OKC and Lakers.

Speaker 2 What is it? One and three?

Speaker 2 See, I would have liked that matchup had they not thrown Luke out of the ballgame. I don't know why they throw Luke out because the official, he was on one.

Speaker 2 He knew Luca was talking to that fan that was chirping in his ear.

Speaker 2 So he just hit a three. Why the hell he gonna yell something to the official?

Speaker 2 That's true.

Speaker 2 But you're coming up with a lot of excuses over there, though.

Speaker 2 That's all right. Hey, we dropped them by 27.
Okay. You saw that.
With everybody played, we dropped about 27. I saw that one.
Okay. Okay.
Okay.

Speaker 2 Okay. You saw it, so I'll be off without explanation.
Okay.

Speaker 2 Mitch, anything you got to promote?

Speaker 2 Tell us how to chat, how they can find you on social media. I mean, you can find me on Mitch, Mitch Rock Richmond23.
I got a lot of things coming up. You know, we got a podcast.

Speaker 2 I mean, I'm getting ready to get my podcast going. Also, we have a

Speaker 2 documentary coming with Run TMC. Okay.

Speaker 2 Ocho, look here. Yo.
Hey, chat. Look what Penny sent your boy.

Speaker 2 Hey, man, here we go again, man.

Speaker 2 You didn't ask for no shoes. I did.
Him, the galaxy ones, right?

Speaker 2 Yeah.

Speaker 2 Look, I ain't asked for the paranormal. Why everybody send you stuff and don't send two pairs?

Speaker 2 Because you ain't asked for-ish.

Speaker 2 I don't need to ask. You're supposed to say something for me.

Speaker 2 You disband on the.

Speaker 2 You own this with me. All you had to do is say, hey, hey, hey, please send me a pair of two.

Speaker 2 What are we doing?

Speaker 2 Anything you get, we come as a unit. We come together.
It's as one.

Speaker 2 Ask.

Speaker 2 You don't see me out there. You challenging everybody.
You over there challenging everybody to about to play a game. I'm trying to get gear.
That's me. Well, listen, I

Speaker 2 hey, Mitch Richmond, you finna get this work. Iso Joe, I know you probably watching.
You finna get this work. Kenyon Martin, if you don't see me with my cigars, I'm gonna beat your ass.

Speaker 2 Who else? Who else? Who else? I owe

Speaker 2 me. That's it.
Oh, Joe, you don't pay my 5200. I'm gonna beat your ass.

Speaker 2 Listen,

Speaker 2 I'll fold your

Speaker 2 ass up like a laundry chair, man. Don't do that.
Not after I seen you crumble under 315, you ain't folding up-ish. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
That I had to, I had did three sets of 225 to warm up.

Speaker 2 So, because no, my body's not used to that type of weight. I'm just gonna be honest with you.
I'm gonna be honest with you. I go in there, coat.
I go in there, coat.

Speaker 2 I probably, I probably could do how many times you do 225.

Speaker 2 Only, oh, honestly, I'm not even gonna, I'm not gonna sit in the library and play with you. I can only do it nine times, huh?

Speaker 2 Once I get to nine, I can't even hit 10.

Speaker 2 Hey, them, them clean. You need some socks, though.

Speaker 2 You heard me?

Speaker 2 Don't worry about it.

Speaker 2 You need some shoes.

Speaker 2 I thought you said you were.

Speaker 2 I bet it's easier for me to get socks than you to get shoes. Hold on.

Speaker 2 I don't want the galaxy kind of

Speaker 2 all blue. Oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 The original phone positive. Yeah.

Speaker 2 Damn, man.

Speaker 2 I started asking for the pair of normals.

Speaker 2 But these are.

Speaker 2 Y'all don't give me nothing, man.

Speaker 2 Oh, Joe.

Speaker 2 Chat, did y'all see Ocho?

Speaker 2 Was I all here by myself with Penny? Or was Ocho on this chat?

Speaker 2 I don't want to be rude. I don't want to be rude.
If you ask, I don't want to follow up behind and be like, oh, yeah, can I get a pair of two? Okay.

Speaker 2 Let somebody come on and ask for something and you ask for it. I was like, hey, bro, send your boy one of them things, too.
Yeah. Nah, see, that's rude.
I don't want to be rude.

Speaker 2 Well, I'm going to be rude. I mean, I would think you would, I mean, you would be gracious enough to ask your co-host, ask him, you know, you know, me and Unc, me and Ocho had this show.

Speaker 2 If you send me one, can you send him one too?

Speaker 2 That's what I would do.

Speaker 2 You ain't never asked the issue.

Speaker 2 I don't ask them because I'm thinking, you know,

Speaker 2 you're leading into the conversation with it.

Speaker 2 So it's my fault you ain't got no shoes now, huh? You got my Funko.

Speaker 2 You got all the wards.

Speaker 2 You got the awards. You got, hold on.
You got, what's you got the plaque?

Speaker 2 You've got a hundred thousand plaque and you got a million plaque. You got all the webbies.
You got two Webbies also.

Speaker 2 Okay.

Speaker 2 And you stole a webby.

Speaker 2 I did. I did.
I did. But it's not the real one, though.

Speaker 2 I did. It's cool.

Speaker 2 It's cool. And I think we're going to get some more webbies this year.
For real? I think so. Hey, are we going to go? Because I got this nice suit I want to wear.
It's peach.

Speaker 2 We'll see. Yeah, yeah.
Let me know. Because I just want to get on stage.
I just want to, I want people to see my outfit. Oh, you know, you only get five words.

Speaker 2 Yeah, and I'm going to say the same thing I said last year. I fucking love you guys.

Speaker 2 I'm going to say, pay me my 5,200.

Speaker 2 That's about

Speaker 2 that's about speech.

Speaker 2 Hey, hey,

Speaker 2 can I tell you something?

Speaker 2 I think I bought something else.

Speaker 2 Hold on. I need a work truck.
So you know I had a suburban, right? You know, I had a suburban. Yeah.

Speaker 2 So I just traded my suburban in, and I just got a cyber truck.

Speaker 2 That's not bad.

Speaker 2 I'm trying to sell

Speaker 2 a whole joke. I'm trying to,

Speaker 2 I'm worried about the environment.

Speaker 2 So I went electric.

Speaker 2 So it was for a good cause.

Speaker 2 Now, I'm not saying, listen, I don't support. I mean, I'm not a supporter, and you know, people don't like that.
I'm not worried about the individual itself. I just like the truck because it fits me.

Speaker 2 The truck is ugly, and I'm ugly.

Speaker 2 Man.

Speaker 2 This man here.

Speaker 2 This man by chat. Y'all see this? Now, y'all talking about man, man, you need to start ultra, man.
Don't do ultra like that. Y'all see this man.
Now, this man done bought a Lambo.

Speaker 2 This man done bought a cyber truck. This man done got a new house.
He done bought furniture. And they paid me my 5,200, chat.
Hold on, hold on. But what about my kids? How they gonna eat?

Speaker 2 You ain't thinking about that when you buying $700,000 cars? I know, but I'm using the $5,200 to feed my kids. Okay.

Speaker 2 Y'all see what somebody said? Y'all see

Speaker 2 this man performing a Shakespearean play right in my damn face.

Speaker 2 And y'all kick your kid right there along with him. What kind of boy?

Speaker 2 Hey.

Speaker 2 Listen, my daughter graduated from Prairie A ⁇ M in May. My son graduate the following day from Arizona State.

Speaker 2 So, think about how far that $5,200 could take me for them to be able to give my daughter flowers when she graduated from Prairie View AM. That's not as far as 700,000 could have taken you, huh?

Speaker 2 You should have taken that money. Say, you know what? I'm a hold on.

Speaker 2 I'm a hold off. I ain't gonna even get this car.
I'm gonna wait because you know, I owe Uncle $5,200. I'm gonna go ahead and break Uncle.
