Speaker 20 Oh, Joe. Yo.
The Lions go into Baltimore. Run the ball for 264 yards.

Speaker 20 No, let me take that back. They ran the ball for 200.
Hold on. How many yards did they run? 224.
They ran the ball 38 times, 224.

Speaker 20 David Montgomery had 12 rush attempts for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Had a long of 72.
So he's averaging what?

Speaker 20 12, 12. Oh, so he's averaged averaged damn near 13 yards a carry in an NFL game.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 21 Hold on. Not just, hold on.
Just not an NFL game. We talk about the we talk about the Ravens.

Speaker 20 Ravens. Ravens.

Speaker 21 Any NFL game. We playing against the Ravens.
Who identity? They're known for what? They're known for their defense.

Speaker 20 They're known to be physical.

Speaker 20 Jared Goff was 20 of 28, 202 yards, an interception. No, excuse me, a touchdown.
No turnovers. Zero sacks.

Speaker 20 Lamar Jackson had an okay night throwing the ball 21 of 27 288 three touchdowns ocho but he was sacked seven times yeah and it wasn't they wasn't bringing no pressure that was four-man pressure a lot of that a lot of that was three down they would bring what we call three down scan three down spy where they would rush three and then have somebody like right there where you going

Speaker 20 yeah and spy and they getting pressure with three rushes that's unacceptable yeah and

Speaker 20 can you hear me let me tell you something bro

Speaker 21 that's That's that's three games, huh? That's three in a row. That's three games.

Speaker 20 And the ball is in your left hand. So obviously, he's a right-handed player.
That's his non-dominant hand, arm. And so now they see the ball is away because he's getting ready to stiff arm.

Speaker 20 And the ball just got slightly away from his body. And Hutch from the back.

Speaker 20 You got to sense that. They're going to attack the ball now, Henry.
That's what they're doing. They say, you know what? Hey, we're not going to let you run our ass over.

Speaker 20 You can't go nowhere without the ball.

Speaker 21 Yeah. And obviously Hutch was coming from behind too,

Speaker 21 and he had no idea. And he's running to the left.
So

Speaker 21 as a running back, you learn that from Pee Wee. You learn it in high school.
You learn it in college. If you're running to your left, you always keep the ball in what? In your left hand.

Speaker 21 But obviously, somebody coming from behind, you got to keep that thing high and tight. You got to keep it high and tight.

Speaker 20 Ocho.

Speaker 20 I've been trying to tell, I see, see, the thing is, a lot of times, Ocho, if you're just a fan of the game game and you just watch the game my team won we're not trying to hear what you're saying right i said now y'all can blame it on henry's fumble and you can blame this but baltimore your defense is an issue yeah baltimore and i told you this the other night when you played buffalo you gave up 264 yards in the fourth quarter to the buffalo bills you gave up you gave up 22 points in the fourth quarter to the buffalo bills i said you've got an issue now baltimore ravens fans you know because a lot of you guys have said man we need a a new dc zach or we need a new dc i don't know what you need but if somebody would have told me that the lions was going to come in there and physically beat the ravens up yeah i'd say i bet you're doorknob to a bucket of cow manure that won't happen yeah absolutely listen i wouldn't think i wouldn't think the lions would come in and physically dominate and pose their will on the ravens especially offensively i knew they would score points i knew

Speaker 21 and and and i felt the way the game started off um the first and the second quarter they was going back and forth and And I thought to myself, I'm at the cigar bar for the first half.

Speaker 21 Man, I kicked my feet up. Boy, it's going to be a barn burner.
They finna be going back and forth.

Speaker 21 But obviously, Lamar Jackson holding on to the ball a little bit too long, trying to make plays down the field.

Speaker 20 Take off.

Speaker 20 Take off.

Speaker 21 You got to know when to go. And if you're not going to go, if you're not going to take off, throw the ball out of bounds.

Speaker 20 Throw the ball away. Throw it off.

Speaker 21 So you live to see another play. So you live to see another down, but you're putting your team in unfortunate circumstances.

Speaker 21 You're going from first and first and 10 to the second and 18 from second and 18 to third and 20 something so there really not many plays that you can run from that point and so you lose the offensive series yeah it ain't that many plays in the playbook that you got for third and third and 15 third and 20 third and 25.

Speaker 20 oh joe

Speaker 20 you might go a whole year a defense might go a whole year and maybe have one drive in which they give up a drive of 90 plus yards yeah the ravens gave up two in this game two a 96 yard drive and a 98-yard drive.

Speaker 21 You know how hard that is to do, Uncle? Hell yeah. You know how long, do you know how hard it is to string together a bunch of plays and drive the whole goddamn field?

Speaker 20 Basically, had the ball for 11 minutes.

Speaker 21 That's very difficult. Yes.
That's very difficult to do. Hey, Montgomery had a day.
You know, that monkey jumped on his back like he was running the goddamn 400.

Speaker 21 Jameer Gibbs had a day. Listen, and this is this all come down to, you're going to have games like this, right? But they got to fix the turnovers.
You got to fix the turnovers. Listen,

Speaker 21 the Lions should have had almost three interceptions.

Speaker 21 They dropped them. Yes.
They dropped them. And this is what has always haunted the Ravens once they make it to the playoffs.

Speaker 21 They play very well throughout the season, and they get into the first round of the playoffs, and they do stuff like this. They turn the ball over.
They need to fix these issues.

Speaker 21 I'm glad it's early in the season. It's only week three.
So they have plenty of time to get this stuff together. Derrick Henry, they're going to go back.

Speaker 21 They're going to start from the basics, high and tight. If you got to run the ball like goddamn Tiki Barber did when he played,

Speaker 21 so be it.

Speaker 20 Or keep it, look here, or keep it in your right arm. If you feel more comfortable, which if you go back and look at Emmett Smith, you'll never see him with the ball in his right arm.

Speaker 21 Right.

Speaker 20 He kept everything in his left because, and he's a right, but he felt more comfortable. Go back and look at Emmy.
It don't matter what side of the foot, what side he's on.

Speaker 20 He taking a toss to the right, he got it in his left. He taking a toss to the left, he got it in his left.

Speaker 20 So King Henry, if you feel more comfortable with it now, it's going to take away the stiff arm opportunity. But Emmett

Speaker 20 really wasn't a stiff arm type of guy. That is your weapon, is the stiff arm.
And,

Speaker 20 you know, you got the ball.

Speaker 20 If you're on the left-hand side, you're on the right-hand side. It's going to be hard to stiff arm somebody coming from the inside.
Yeah. But you got to do something like it's mental now, Ocho.

Speaker 20 You know how it is, Ocho. You drop a couple of passes in the game.
It's in your head.

Speaker 20 It starts bothering you.

Speaker 21 It's in your head.

Speaker 20 And

Speaker 20 you start trying to body catch it. And like, okay, ooh,

Speaker 20 I'm going to look it all the way in. And they think you know the ball hits your side your head.

Speaker 20 Hey, we all have been there. If you catch pan, if you caught passes for a living, you've had a day and when you're like, damn, just don't throw me the ball.
And here I am. I'm open again.

Speaker 21 Yeah, ball beat you right up.

Speaker 20 Ball beat you up. Oh, Joe.

Speaker 20 This is what we normally say about the Ravens do to other teams. They beat people up.
Yes. They smash people.

Speaker 20 For the lions to come in here.

Speaker 20 and do what they did jared golf was 20 of 28 202 a touchdown

Speaker 20 excuse me no interceptions no sacks i do understand madam bique

Speaker 20 And Van Noy, two of their best pass rushers, wasn't there. Yeah, they hurt.
But that ain't got nothing to do with that running now.

Speaker 21 Nah.

Speaker 20 That ain't got nothing to do.

Speaker 20 Running is about physicality. It's about domination.
It's about moving a man out of the way against his will.

Speaker 20 Right.

Speaker 20 That's what that is about.

Speaker 20 And for somebody, if, like I said, Ocho, if somebody would have told me, this is what was, this is the type, okay, if you tell me the Lions is going to win where they can score points, okay? Yeah.

Speaker 20 Okay, I don't think they're going to win in Baltimore. But, you know, if they, okay, I can see that.
But if you tell me they're going to come in and get dominated like they got dominated tonight,

Speaker 20 I wouldn't believe that. Not running the ball like that, Ocho.
I haven't seen the Ravens get run on like that.

Speaker 20 That's physically, that's physically dominated.

Speaker 20 And, you know, I thought Lamar was throwing the ball well. Like you said, Ocho, that clock's got to go off a little quicker.
Yeah, that's all.

Speaker 20 The clock's got to go off a little quicker. Bro, that ain't seven on seven.
They're not going to let you back there and pat the ball and let you just pat the ball and just let you pat the ball.

Speaker 20 You got to go. Hey, after one pat, let it go.
Yeah. Take off.
Either you take off or let it go out of bounds somewhere.

Speaker 20 But

Speaker 20 I think you got to look.

Speaker 20 The Lions defense, man. And that was a bugaboo last year, Ojo.
You know, they scored points, but they had, you know, they had to seemingly outscore everybody. Right.

Speaker 20 This defense this year, look, they gave up 30 points. I only really counted that last turn.
That was late in the ball game. Right.
Because they had a goal line stand.

Speaker 20 They stuffed Derrick Henry. They stuffed him.
And then Lamar tried it, and they stuffed Lamar.

Speaker 20 Give them credit. They bowled their backs when they had to bowl their backs.
But I'm concerned about the Ravens defense. Yeah.
I'm concerned about it, Ocho, because like I said, they gave up 200.

Speaker 20 Ocho, man, 264 yards and a quarter.

Speaker 20 Man, that's over 1,000 yards of the damn game. And you gave up 22 points.
Yeah. So now look at this, what they gave up today.
They gave up a drive of 67, 98, 60, and 94 yards.

Speaker 20 Two touchdown drives of at least 11 plays or more. One of the drives took 10 10 and a half minutes off the clock.

Speaker 21 And listen, and one of their strong suits, one of the strong suits of the Ravens has always been able to stop the run.

Speaker 21 The issues with the Ravens has always been the back end, huh?

Speaker 21 It's always been the back end. But now it looks like not only the back end is struggling, hell, the front end is struggling too.

Speaker 21 If you can't stop the run and you can't stop the goddamn pass, well, shit, you just sat there for goddamn decoration. Yeah, and I love, hey, let me tell you something too.
I love Dan Campbell.

Speaker 21 I love Dan Campbell and his willingness not to give two flats, drops, drops, a pigeon drop on concrete, what down it is.

Speaker 21 They playing four-down football. Dan Campbell is playing four-down football no matter where he's at on the field.
He really just don't care.

Speaker 20 Well, you got to understand the type of game that you're in. He's like, okay, well, my defense really hadn't stopped them.
They're going up and down the field tight.

Speaker 20 And so the likelihood, so the likelihood of a field goal game beating the Ravens is not very likely.

Speaker 20 And we're down in this situation. We're fourth and one.
We're fourth and two. I trust Jerry Goff to make the right decision.
It's the same thing.

Speaker 20 That's why the Baltimore Ravens, you understand the type of game that you're in. That's what you have to do.
Within the first drive or two, you understand what type of game this is going to be, Ocho.

Speaker 20 Most definitely. This is going to be

Speaker 20 one of those 30-point games.

Speaker 20 Yes. And so, kicking, punting the ball and kicking field goals, that's not how we're going to win this game.

Speaker 20 I'm concerned. Look, the turnovers will always be an issue.
Obviously, you can't turn the football over. But the ease in which the Lions move the football tonight is very concerning to me.

Speaker 21 Let me tell you something. This is the good thing, Uncle This is the good thing for the Ravens.
How many offenses

Speaker 21 are like the Lions that's in the NFL? Maybe two or three. I'm telling two or three that can go up and down the field and throw it.

Speaker 21 Maybe the Packers or one.

Speaker 20 Well, you don't have to be like the Lions if you got it going up against everybody gonna look like the Lions against that defense.

Speaker 21 I don't know, everybody don't have the personnel. It's all about situational football and get the personnel you have.

Speaker 20 Okay,

Speaker 20 let's just say the AFC. Right.
You got the Chargers.

Speaker 21 That's one team that's capable of doing exactly what the Lions did tonight. That's one.

Speaker 20 The Chargers. Who else?

Speaker 20 I'm throwing Cincinnati out because they don't have. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Speaker 21 Don't do that. Don't do that.

Speaker 20 Yeah, they got burrow. They're not doing anything.

Speaker 21 It ain't too many.

Speaker 20 Even though Mahomes can't run the football like that

Speaker 20 and still

Speaker 20 come playoff time,

Speaker 20 you're not willing to wager anything against him.

Speaker 20 And here's the other thing, Ojo. We know the Ravens don't play their best football in the postseason.
So I don't need to look like the Lions did tonight in order to beat them.

Speaker 20 Because guess what? I got seven sacks in turnovers. And we know in the postseason when the Ravens lose, what do they do? Turn the ball over at least once.
A lot of occasions is two or more.

Speaker 20 So I don't really need to look like the Lions in order to beat the Ravens because they're going to give me some cheap possessions.

Speaker 20 They're going to put me, they're going to turn the ball over in their territory and give me a short field. Right.
And you know how momentum is in the playoff, man.

Speaker 20 Once that thing go, hey, they can run seven, 10, 14 points on you in a hurry. I'm shocked.
Chat,

Speaker 20 I'm not bulljoining y'all. Yeah.
I am shocked. with the ease in which the Detroit Lions ran the football, how they protected their quarterback.
I mean, bro, they had 426.

Speaker 20 I mean, they couldn't get them off the field, Locho. Yeah.

Speaker 21 And matter of fact, you know what I will say? I will say this. As someone who watches the game of football, understand the game of football.

Speaker 21 Even though the Ravens lost tonight, they were dominated somewhat defensively on the offensive side of the ball. Obviously, Lamar taking six, seven sacks, whatever it may have been.

Speaker 21 Interception, it should have been damn near three, maybe even four interceptions.

Speaker 21 A game like this, Lamar have a game like this, and then here going on a street unk for the next 11, 12 games, and them same sacks he's taking, he breaking those for 20 and 30 yard gains.

Speaker 21 So you have a game like this, but then

Speaker 21 you don't chastise him for having a game like this or trying to make plays and trying to extend plays, which he's extremely, extremely good at, because the rest of the year, he gonna break all those.

Speaker 21 The rest of the year, those seven or six sacks, they're not gonna be sacks. They're going to be gains in which he has 10 or more yards to keep a drive going.

Speaker 20 But here's the thing, though. When he was taking those sacks last year, what did his mom say? Run the damn ball.

Speaker 21 Run the damn ball, yeah.

Speaker 20 Yeah. You see, so, you know, sometimes he gets caught up.
I can throw, yeah, we know you can throw the football. But in situations like this, I mean, they're dropping, they're dropping 70 coverage.

Speaker 20 Yeah, they were. They were.
You got to give them credit, Ocho, because they were stopping him with their front. So they didn't sacrifice the back end.
So they didn't have to drop that safety down to

Speaker 20 deal with King Henry. Give those guys credit.
Now, they're going to have to do a better job of finding Bateman. It seems like Mark Andrews is getting his legs back.

Speaker 20 You know, he came off that very, very serious leg injury a couple of years ago. And so he's starting to look like Mark Andrews again until likely

Speaker 20 comes back.

Speaker 20 But I was just shocked.

Speaker 20 I mean,

Speaker 20 400, it was 7 of 14.

Speaker 20 Excuse me. It wasn't like the Ravens were bad on third down.
They were 6 of 11. But 50% on third down.
And then you go three or three on fourth down.

Speaker 20 Hold on.

Speaker 21 And think about it. In the red zone, if I'm not mistaken, the goddamn lions were what? Four for four? Five for five in the red zone? Every time they got down there, yep.

Speaker 20 Man, bad days.

Speaker 20 There was four or five in the red zone.

Speaker 21 Okay.

Speaker 20 Four or five, and the Ravens was two or four.

Speaker 21 Ooh, that's gonna be hard to beat.

Speaker 20 I mean, you think about it. Both teams, I mean, 20 of 28 passing for the Lions, 21 of 28 for the Ravens, 7.2 yards per pass play, 6.7.

Speaker 20 My concerns have been watching them the first game of the season. I'm like, okay, I don't want to make too big of an issue.
Right. But that defense concerns me, Ocho.
That defense concerns me. Yeah.

Speaker 21 I mean, listen, that's going to be their Achilles heel. That's going to be their Achilles heel until they fix it.
And people saying, oh, we need a defensive coordinator. We need a new coordinator.

Speaker 20 Well, you got who you got right now.

Speaker 21 Yeah. But listen, every time I hear that, listen, we talked about Ben Johnson and

Speaker 21 AG obviously being gone, but you still have the same personnel. And

Speaker 21 we saw that tonight. We saw that tonight offensively.
The creativity is still there. Them boys ran a goddamn triple option, huh?

Speaker 21 Man, they ran a triple option. And defensively, they made some great plays.

Speaker 21 Brian Branch, all over the place, almost had an interception. I'm not sure what happened to that.
That was an easy one, too. But, I mean, they look good.
They look good on both sides of the ball.

Speaker 20 And, ocho, and I'm looking at Detroit. And then I watch how Green Bay dominated them.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 20 Green Bay dominated them. Yeah.
I don't even know if they had 200 yards of total offense.

Speaker 20 I was like, what the hell? And then I watched them drop 52 on Chicago last week. Yeah.
Who just turned around and dropped 38 on Cowboys.

Speaker 20 But beating Cowboys ain't saying much because Cowboys' defense hadn't been good for an extended period of time.

Speaker 20 But Detroit,

Speaker 20 Detroit, we knew offensively. And I know, look, Green Bay is a division game, Ojo.
Division games are tough. Now, when you start,

Speaker 20 when you drop 30, 40 points on a division opponent that knows you, you play each other twice a year. You know them, they know you.

Speaker 20 And it's not like I understand Ben Johnson is your new head coach, but hell, you just coached against him for the last five years as offensive coordinator for the Lions. So you got film on him.

Speaker 20 You know what he likes to do. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Adam Lightning. What it's all saying done, we thought they lost both coordinators.
They were going to take a step back.

Speaker 20 It doesn't look like they're going to take a step back. It looks like they're going to take a damn giant leap forward.

Speaker 21 Yeah. And the funny thing about it, huh? Is you know how the saying goes, especially in the beginning of the season,

Speaker 21 any given Sunday on you're right any any given Sunday especially in the beginning of the season right now teams offensively they're not even into their form yet they not even to their form defense is a is a little different all you're doing is you're reacting by the time you get to week five and six and everybody offensive is hitting their stride hey look at caitlin williams even though they were playing the cowboys We had doubts about Caleb Williams.

Speaker 21 Now he's starting to come into his own, looking like the quarterback that that was drafted in the first round. Now again,

Speaker 21 I knew it was the Cowboys. Yes.
But still, this is what we've been waiting for.

Speaker 20 But that's what I want to see. Oh, Joe, when I'm playing an inferior opponent and I know they're bad on one side of the ball, don't you want to see your side of the ball dominate

Speaker 20 the side that you feel are inferior? We know the Cowboys defense isn't very good. So I expected...
everybody to get healthy.

Speaker 20 If you're struggling offensively, the doctor will tell you, play the Cowboys and call me tomorrow.

Speaker 20 you'll be just fine because you'll be able to do whatever you want to do. They can't consistently generate pressure.

Speaker 20 The past defense isn't very good and they hadn't been very good for a very, very long time because they can't generate pressure.

Speaker 20 And you can't put pressure on, I don't care who your secondary is, unless you're dealing with Hall of Famer historically great players.

Speaker 20 You're not going to do anything. You've got to pressure the quarterback.
The quarterback got to go down. The quarterback has to be in fear.
You have to speed the quarterback up.

Speaker 20 But Detroit, 24 first down, Ocho. They had 11.
They got one by penalty. 11 on passing, 12 on rushing.

Speaker 20 Third down efficiency. They were 50% on third down.
There was 100% on fourth down. 66 total plays.
See,

Speaker 20 the Ravens ran into the problem. Ocho.
They had 19 rush attempts. Now, you know damn well the Ravens normally have 30, 35, 40 rush attempts.
Yeah.

Speaker 21 Yeah, but listen, they had those rush attempts like that. It's a high volume of rush attempts when the goddamn run is actually working.

Speaker 20 But don't, don't, don't let, listen, a lot of times, Ocho,

Speaker 20 guys tell the story like you go to, you know, you see a lot of professional athletes. Now, some guys make a lot more money than others.
Yeah. And then you'll get caught up in a situation.

Speaker 20 Y'all at the club, let me get a bottle. Let me buy a rhyme for everybody.
You ain't got money like him.

Speaker 21 No, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 20 Or you go to the casino, Ocho, and they playing $1,000, $5,000 a hand. Well, bro, you're supposed to to be playing $100 a hand, and

Speaker 20 you get caught up in that. The Ravens got caught up into this situation, OJo, because they see, okay, the gang's going to be high score.

Speaker 20 But Ravens, y'all score 40, y'all can score points and run the ball.

Speaker 21 Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 20 Go ahead, what you wanted to say?

Speaker 21 Hold on.

Speaker 21 I just heard you say something.

Speaker 21 Excuse my ignorance. I heard you in comparison to tonight's game, the casino part and playing $1,000, $5,000 hands.

Speaker 20 That's a real thing?

Speaker 20 Oh, yeah, for sure you get caught you hey oh joe you know you go in the club and and they look it hey i got it like that too hey let me get a bottle hey you know we done got us we done got us a table hey let me get a bottle let me get that ace of spade let me get this let me get that you try to impress people

Speaker 21 hold on where the hell can you play a thousand or five thousand dollar hands i played black jack hold on i played blackjack in vegas and it was a 25 table 25

Speaker 20 yeah exactly but they got 25 000 tables too and they got 50 000 table and they got private rooms that they'll let you play up to a probably a hundred thousand a hand what

Speaker 20 yes

Speaker 20 who the hell has that kind of disposable income to pay a hundred thousand dollars a hand a lot of people a lot of people

Speaker 20 i got that's how you that's how you win millions you can't win millions playing 500 hands if you're trying to win if you It takes money to make money.

Speaker 20 So if you're trying to take money off the casino, you're going to have to put something They say in order to catch a lion, you got to use your best goat.

Speaker 20 So if you want big bucks, you got to put big bucks up.

Speaker 21 Oh, hell no.

Speaker 20 I'm just saying.

Speaker 20 Man, Detroit, they impressed me tonight.

Speaker 21 They look real good.

Speaker 20 They impressed me tonight. The Ravens at home

Speaker 20 and coming off a big win against Cleveland. And look, they dropped 40 on Cleveland, and we think Cleveland's defense is good.

Speaker 20 You wore them down because they turned the turnovers and then you know, you're going three and out, and now you're putting your defense on the field, back on the field.

Speaker 20 No matter how great your defense is, they will wear it down if you continually put them, trot them out there.

Speaker 20 But I think this, tonight, I think we ought to make this more about what Detroit did do than what the Ravens did do. Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 20 We can say the Ravens' defense is concerning. We can say Lamar.
took too many sacks or he needs to speed the process up, either take off running with the football or throw it away.

Speaker 20 But somebody put them under the gun. Somebody put them in fear.
That was the Detroit Lions. The Detroit Lions ran the football.

Speaker 20 They did a great job of protecting Jerry Goff because he's not the most mobile quarterback and he was never under the rest.

Speaker 20 Yeah. And listen.

Speaker 20 A guy like him, Ocho, if you don't put him under the rest, he'll pick your ass apart. And then

Speaker 20 20 or 28.

Speaker 21 Matter of fact, the fact that he's not a dual threat quarterback, you got to get pressure and get him off the spot. You got to find a way to make him uncomfortable.

Speaker 21 And if you blitz, you got to be careful. If you blitz, they're going to kill you.

Speaker 21 If they blitz, they're going to kill you because offensively, they already got the hot reads already built in because he's not a mobile quarterback.

Speaker 21 And matter of fact, I forgot to tell you, I was being nice tonight. You shouldn't be saying foot or ball because you were Ravens.

Speaker 21 Why are you bringing Regan's helmet out tonight?

Speaker 21 Matter of fact, I feel bad for you because not only did your team lose tonight on Monday night, your team gonna lose next Monday night too.

Speaker 20 Nah, we win the other team.

Speaker 21 Nah, that was. Your other team going to lose next.
Wait, is it Monday?

Speaker 20 Yeah, we got the double header, yes.

Speaker 21 Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 21 You're going to get a double whammy. A double whammy.
And

Speaker 21 I could almost guarantee you that.

Speaker 20 No.

Speaker 20 I mean, think about it. Ocho, they only missed four tackles on defense.
The Lions improved to 12-2 in prime time games under Dan Campbell.

Speaker 20 Gibbs and Montgomery, aka Sonics and Knuckles recorded a touchdown in the same game for the 11th time. Both had two touchdowns.
They broke the tie with Packers' great

Speaker 20 Paul Horning and Jim Taylor, both of those guys in the pro football hall of fame, and Hugh McElhaney and Joe Perry.

Speaker 20 Jody Jet Perry was once the all-time leading rusher in NFL history, if I'm not mistaken,

Speaker 20 for the most such games of any running back tandem.

Speaker 20 So,

Speaker 20 Ocho.

Speaker 20 I don't know if you know this, and you probably agree with me.

Speaker 20 Aiden Hutchinson about be become the highest paid non-quarterback in the NFL.

Speaker 21 Aiden?

Speaker 20 Yep.

Speaker 21 He sacked Lamar twice, right?

Speaker 20 Uh

Speaker 20 I know he got it once. He got a, he had, I know he had one sack.
Hold on, let me see. No, he had one sack, one tackle for lost force fumble.

Speaker 20 Muhammad had two and a half sacks.

Speaker 21 Yeah,

Speaker 21 I don't know about the highest paid, but he'll get close to it because he ain't getting more than 47.

Speaker 20 Why not?

Speaker 21 He's not getting more than 47. And they just gave Mike a.

Speaker 21 Mike is a transcending talent. Aiden Hutchinson is good.

Speaker 20 He's really good.

Speaker 20 Aiden Hutchinson, before he broke his leg, he was the odds-on-favorite to be defensive player of the year.

Speaker 21 Hold on. Before he what?

Speaker 20 Before he broke his leg.

Speaker 21 And there go your answer on why he's not getting more than 47.

Speaker 20 They got a rod in his leg, and the rod is not a leg of stronger. Watch what I tell you.
Now, see, just like I told you last night, I told you CD going to be out three to four weeks.

Speaker 20 Now, didn't I tell you that?

Speaker 20 Now, chat, y'all listen to a guy that's never been hurt why would you listen to a guy that's never been hurt about waiting wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute i i never said cd wasn't gonna be hurt he had a high ankle sprain i you said one week out you said one week he's not getting re-evaluated till 14 days right i said three to four weeks you said one

Speaker 20 Did you see that man ankle? Hold on, wait, man. That man's ankle bone laid on the ground.

Speaker 21 Hold on. You got to listen to me.
You got to understand.

Speaker 21 I saw he got caught up in the tackles. He got caught up under the person's

Speaker 21 body weight, actually.

Speaker 21 His body weight is why he had a high ankle sprain. If CD were to come to me and holler at your boy, I can get him back in a week.

Speaker 21 But the fact that everything in that structured environment, they like to do things their way with their people, it's probably going to take three to four weeks for him to get back on the goddamn field.

Speaker 20 It's going to take that, I mean, that thing stretched.

Speaker 20 Like I said, that's exactly the way CD got hurt. That's exactly the way I hurt my ankle the very first time with a high ankle spring.

Speaker 20 Albert Lewis tackled me the same way, but it was like a hip-drop tackle, Ocho. And it did the exact same thing.
Ocho, I'm talking about the exact same thing.

Speaker 20 And every time I would get my ankle, that's how I hurt my ankle. It was like they just knew.
I never rolled it over the top. I always rolled in.
Oh, man.

Speaker 21 And then they put that weight on it, all that pressure.

Speaker 20 Yep.

Speaker 20 Ocho. Aiden Hutchinson, isn't he younger than Micah?

Speaker 20 He's probably a year or two younger than Micah.

Speaker 20 He can't be more than 24, Ocho.

Speaker 21 I mean,

Speaker 21 probably not, but you got to understand.

Speaker 21 Listen now,

Speaker 21 come on, come on. You know the game very well.
They love to use certain things against you.

Speaker 21 As great, as great as he is, as great as he was in becoming, he was going to be up. He was going to be rookie of the year.
That was his rookie year, right? He was cutting up.

Speaker 20 He was cutting up his rookie year. He was cutting up his second year.
Second year.

Speaker 20 Cutting up his third year. But here's the the thing, Ocho, because he's young.
And guess what? You're a local kid. Where is he from, Ocho?

Speaker 21 He's from out that way?

Speaker 20 Yes. He went to Michigan.
He played. Yes.

Speaker 21 Okay, okay. Well, all that plays a part in, but

Speaker 21 you know how owners work. You know how management work, man,

Speaker 21 when it come time to, well, you know, this happened to you.

Speaker 20 We don't.

Speaker 20 Not with them.

Speaker 21 Oh,

Speaker 21 I see what you mean. Okay, I got you.
I got you. I got you.

Speaker 20 You good.

Speaker 21 We let that one go.

Speaker 20 Yeah.

Speaker 20 The Ravens, one turnover, allowed seven sack, missed 20 tackles. John Harbard, the biggest problem is we didn't play good run defense.
That's not going to be good enough. That's bad run defense.

Speaker 20 That's not who we are. I totally agree.
It cannot be who we are. We got to get better, better pass.

Speaker 20 John Harbaugh must be. Is John Harbaugh, was he listening to me talk OJo? Yeah.
We got to get a better pass rush. There's no doubt about it.
That's not, that's, that's not going to be good enough ever

Speaker 20 I'm sitting there watching the game and I'm saying I'm saying this from I'm like I'm just I'm just sitting there like bro Yo y'all got to put the pressure on the quarterback.

Speaker 20 I don't care Jerry Goff if you let him sit back there in the pocket Yeah, he'll do just what he did.

Speaker 20 Did you see him last week? Who did they play last week? Chicago. Oh, Joe, he completed 82% of his passes

Speaker 20 for five touchdowns

Speaker 20 now i don't know what 28 a 20 of 28 is but it's damn good yeah absolutely i don't know what percentage is off the top of my head but it's better than 60 i know that

Speaker 20 and

Speaker 20 he was i mean and he was under noted arrest and ocho and like you said at some point you got to stop something damn yeah you like the guy oh he ocho you like fighting so you know boxing the guy hits you with the jab he hit you with the straight right he hit you with the check he He hit you with the left.

Speaker 20 He hit you with double cut. Son, you got to stop something.

Speaker 20 He hit you with everything. Yeah.

Speaker 20 So damn, either block the jab, but you got to do something. He can't tag it to the body.
What damn, son?

Speaker 20 Ravens, you got to stop something. Either you rush the pass and put pressure on the quarterback.
or you stop the run. But you're not beating anybody.

Speaker 20 If you give an offense anything they want,

Speaker 20 they're going to take more than what they're giving.

Speaker 21 They're going to take you to town every time, huh?

Speaker 21 They're going to take you to town every time. The funny thing about it is the Ravens don't have to play an offense like the Lions every week.

Speaker 21 So probably, I'm not even sure who their next opponent is, but they probably going to embarrass them. They probably going to score 30-plus.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 20 Oh,

Speaker 20 they go to Kansas City.

Speaker 21 Now, watch what happened. I mean, no disrespect to the Chiefs.
No disrespect to the Chiefs. Now, watch what happened.
I guarantee you.

Speaker 20 It would be a high school.

Speaker 21 Watch the Mollywap the damn Chiefs.

Speaker 20 The Ravens Mebel Mollywap the Chiefs.

Speaker 20 Because guess what, Ocho? In order to disrupt the Chiefs, what must you be able to do?

Speaker 21 Pressure Mahomes. Pressure Mahomes.

Speaker 1 Hang on, still scrolling. I know the address is here somewhere.

Speaker 30 It's time for WhatsApp. Message privately with everyone.

Speaker 20 The Ravens had to play Kansas City 1-2 where Mahomes, Patrick, where they've never beaten Patrick Mahomes since 2008. The Ravens are 0-3 at average, an arrowhead,

Speaker 20 allowing an average of 29 points per game.

Speaker 20 Derrick Henry also fumbled again. Like I said,

Speaker 20 it's in his head now, Ocho.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 20 I mean, three consecutive games, like one, like, because now people are going to attack the football. They said, hey, get that football out.

Speaker 20 The same thing happened to Ramondre Stevenson yesterday in the Pittsburgh.

Speaker 21 He had three, right?

Speaker 20 three or two he did yeah he did he did and so now they're alert when you're in the game hey attack the football because he'll give it up he'll give it up

Speaker 20 um but i agree with everything john harbaugh said john harbaugh basically corroborated what you and i started talking about right right the pass rush wasn't good enough the rush defense wasn't good enough

Speaker 20 because

Speaker 20 That's not good enough.

Speaker 20 The Ravens are better. We think the Ravens still look.
It's one game on y'all. Oh, yeah, that's good.

Speaker 20 But there's some cause for concerns for me from what I saw because I've seen this in two out of three games.

Speaker 20 We saw Josh Allen in the second half go up and down the field like the Lions did basically the entire damn game. And you talk about who's going to,

Speaker 20 we forgot about Buffalo. We think Buffalo is going to be there when it's all said and done.

Speaker 21 Absolutely.

Speaker 20 You're talking about a guy that got Lamar Jackson's legs and he's 6'5 and he's 250 pounds. Yeah.
And he could throw the ball through the eye of a hurricane. Mm-hmm.

Speaker 20 So now

Speaker 20 what what do we what what do you what type of team at the end of the day

Speaker 20 what type of team you want to have Ravens right

Speaker 20 because I just want you to know now

Speaker 20 this thing don't stay open forever.

Speaker 20 The store closes

Speaker 20 the store closes. So y'all need to cash in some of these opportunities.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 20 They really need to cash in some of these opportunities, Ocho.

Speaker 20 They need to go in free agency. They need to find a bona fide pass rusher.
They need to go into the draft, but they got to get somebody. When the Ravens were at their best, they had Terrell Suggs.

Speaker 20 They had a guy that could put his hand in the dirt and go get your quarterback, defensive player of the year. They had a Ray Lewis that was a defensive player of the year.

Speaker 20 You had an Ed Reed that was a defensive player of the year. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Speaker 21 Listen, we not those type of players aren't coming around no time soon.

Speaker 20 But I'm saying, saying, you gotta be.

Speaker 21 No Ed Reeds, but I, that.

Speaker 20 But if you go back and look at us, what we had, Ocho, in 2000, we had a Peter Bowlware. We had a Michael Macquarie.
We had a Rob Bournette.

Speaker 20 Hey, you got to have guys that can go get hunt the quarterback. Ocho.
You got to hunt the opposing quarterback. It's an absolute must.

Speaker 20 Guys are too good if you don't get them on the ground.

Speaker 21 Yeah, you're right. But the identity for those teams, also during that time, when you were playing, when I was playing, the Steelers, their identity, it was was their defense.

Speaker 20 Yes.

Speaker 21 The identity for the Ravens back then, it was their defense. And

Speaker 21 you feared having to play them. I mean, I didn't personally, I'm just saying they instill fear before you even played the goddamn games.
They were that good. Yes.

Speaker 21 Those days are long gone.

Speaker 20 Look, and this is not a knock. Look, Roquan is Roquan's man.
He's an all-pro. Oh, yeah, he nice.

Speaker 21 He nice now.

Speaker 20 But you got to get somebody that can hunt the quarterback.

Speaker 20 You got to get somebody that can hunt the quarterback. Yeah.
That's what you need. You look at the team.
Philly, what can Philly do?

Speaker 20 We think Green Bay is going to be there because what can Green Bay do?

Speaker 21 Hunt the quarterback. Go get the quarterback.

Speaker 20 You look at the teams that we think that's going to be there when it's all said and done. All of them, we believe, can go hunt the quarterback.
And you've got to be able to hunt the quarterback.

Speaker 20 Now, I understand that Van Noy and Madabeek is injured. And so when they come back, but okay, and I'll give you that.
Okay, that's why they didn't generate pressure getting to the quarterback.

Speaker 20 But I can offer you nothing on why they gave up 220 plus yards rushing. I got nothing for that, Ocho.
I got nothing for that.

Speaker 21 Oh, man.

Speaker 20 John Harbaugh on Derrick Hillary fumbles. I don't think it would be a norm going forward, but we got to get it fixed.
That was a blind shot. Still, we just want to protect the football.

Speaker 20 If you remember, Ocho, every time that he's fumbled, if I'm not mistaken, it was.

Speaker 20 The Cleveland, I don't know, because he both of them, now, Ed Oliver got him. He was trying to stiff arm, and Ed said, I can't get you down.
So he raked the ball out. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 20 But the ball was in his left arm. Tonight, he didn't realize Hutch was behind him.
Hutch like, boom, got the ball out. Now, I don't know if he had it in his left or his.

Speaker 20 Maybe it was right because I remember he read through the hole against Cleaver and they punched it out. They ended up getting it back, if I'm not mistaken.
But he's got a... It's in his head.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 21 It's in his head. And the bad thing, too, playing running back and you're fumbling the ball, you don't run the same.
You don't run the same.

Speaker 20 You don't run as aggressive. Absolutely not.

Speaker 21 You don't run as aggressive.

Speaker 20 The Ravens have 111 points this season. That's the most points through three games by any team in NFL history with a losing record.

Speaker 20 They're leading the NFL in scoring, Ocho. They got 103 points.
They're one and two. The next two have

Speaker 20 111. They have 111 points.
They're 1-2.

Speaker 20 The Colts and the Lions,

Speaker 20 Colts are 3-0. They got 103 points.
The Lions, 2-1, 103 points. Let that sink in.
So they're averaging 35,

Speaker 20 37 points a game.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 20 And got a losing record.

Speaker 20 So it's still early.

Speaker 20 That tells you your defense.

Speaker 20 You heard me? Because, huh?

Speaker 21 It's still early, though.

Speaker 21 It's a it's it's real early.

Speaker 20 It is early.

Speaker 21 It's early.

Speaker 20 That's why you need to get it fixed now.

Speaker 21 Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 20 Before we have, you don't want to be having this conversation in December, and you damn sure don't want to have it in January. Nah.
So let's go ahead and have this conversation. Sometimes, don't you?

Speaker 20 You have to have a conversation,

Speaker 20 an uncomfortable conversation

Speaker 20 before

Speaker 20 all hell break loose. Yeah.

Speaker 20 Before 2025, no starting quarterback had ever lost multiple games in which they had 140 passer rating in a single season. Lamar Jackson has already lost two such games through three.

Speaker 20 He had 144.4 in a week one loss against the Bills, 148.1 in a week three loss against the Lions.

Speaker 20 Now, he does have the highest quarterback rating in NFL history.

Speaker 20 Nobody would have ever thought that. If you told me that, did I think he could play quarterback in the NFL?

Speaker 20 Yes, but if you told me he was going to be an MVP-level quarterback and have the highest passer rating,

Speaker 20 nobody would believe it. Because if they'd have believed that, if they if they would have believed Lamar, this is what I know.

Speaker 20 If they'd have believed Lamar would have turned out like this, they'd have taken the number one overall.

Speaker 21 Absolutely. The fact that he had to wait to the goddamn bottom of the first for the first round and the Ravens traded back in to get him.

Speaker 21 And then they had the nerve to say, You want to at the combine, you want to work out as a receiver?

Speaker 20 Yeah, catch one routes. What?

Speaker 21 excuse me come on now that's why hey listen that's why it's so surprising he had to work his tail off to get to the point where he is now though

Speaker 21 let me show you while i'm just not a running quarterback let me show you not only my dude threat i can use my leg but i can use my arm too so now the secondary is not running the secondary is i mean excuse me my primary first thing now is to throw the ball which is why you're seeing some of the sacks now.

Speaker 21 I'm trying to extend plays and show you I can throw the ball.

Speaker 21 ball but let's get back to what you do best if you go through your progression and it's not there go ahead and get them y'all all ass go ahead and get them yards listen

Speaker 21 to see another day

Speaker 20 you got you got to um

Speaker 20 i think it was a blessing in disguise because maybe if he goes early in the first round he doesn't work as hard because ocho you know you got something to prove not only to yourself because you want to show them that man they wanted me to move to wide receiver they wanted me to play running back right they talking about i'm a running back that can throw.

Speaker 20 They really said I wasn't, they didn't do that to Tim Tebow. They let that man play quarterback.
Now, once they found out he couldn't really play consistent quarterback, they asked him to move. Right.

Speaker 20 But y'all asking me to move without even giving me an opportunity to play it.

Speaker 20 Let me go, give me an opportunity to play quarterback. Then if I can't play quarterback and if I choose to move, I'll do that.
But at least give me the opportunity. Right.

Speaker 20 So, and he's worked his ass off and it's become an absolute dime dropper. Now, that two-point throw, that was a frustration for OJO.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was a frustration.

Speaker 20 Cause you know, damn well, Lamar Jackson ain't gonna miss a wide open receiver by that much. Right.

Speaker 20 He was just like, man,

Speaker 20 Lamar after game one after the game said, I feel like week one was a wake-up call, not just a loss.

Speaker 21 Man, them boy, them, them boys finna come back and do. And

Speaker 21 I ain't gonna say it no more.

Speaker 21 I ain't gonna say it no more.

Speaker 21 They're gonna be all right. They're gonna be all right next week.

Speaker 20 They are

Speaker 20 got the work cut out for them. You know, Kansas City.
Hey, Kansas City trying to get back, trying to put strengths and wins together.

Speaker 21 Hold on. Kansas City 0-3 still?

Speaker 20 What? They beat the Giants last week? They did beat the Giants. Yeah, they beat the Giants.

Speaker 21 They call it for Russ Head over there already, huh?

Speaker 21 I know. I know.
You did.

Speaker 20 We got that coming. We're coming.
Nick Bosa is out for the season, Ocho, with a torrent ACL. The Niners

Speaker 20 are 3-0. The Niners look to be cursed.
This is nothing new to them. Through week three, they've already dealt with injuries.
Mark Purdy missed the game. George Kittle has missed two games.

Speaker 20 Jawan Jennings missed the game. Brandon Ayuk has yet to play.
Looking at their injury rankings in the past two years. In 2024, they were the most injured team.

Speaker 20 In 2022, they were the ninth most injured team. In 2021, they were the third most injured team.
In 2020, they was the most injured team. In 2019, the sixth most injured team.
In 2018, the fourth most.

Speaker 20 I don't know who their training staff is, but

Speaker 21 something ain't right.

Speaker 21 Something ain't right.

Speaker 20 Ain't no way

Speaker 20 your team is supposed to be that injured. I don't know what type of training they got.
Maybe they got them doing bands. I don't know what they got them doing, Ocho, but this is unacceptable.

Speaker 21 Yeah, listen, it's not just their, it's just not their team.

Speaker 21 i'm i'm i'm curious and i'm not understanding and why the injury rate in the nfl is continuing to go up and i'm talking about non-contact injuries i know bosa obviously he was blocking and you know it gave him a road yeah but like like come come on man

Speaker 21 like every weekend somebody najay harris hurt he done towards acl no achilles ain't it achilles i mean yeah achilles i'm like well god damn Those are so,

Speaker 20 that's the thing that that that's

Speaker 20 that puzzle orthopedics because there's no rhyme or reason. Because think about it, Ocho, the guy just get ready to take off

Speaker 20 and collapse.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 21 I don't understand, man.

Speaker 20 You know, sometimes, you know, it's just the, and normally it's the push-off.

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 20 You know, ACL, you know, sudden stop, you know, you get, you know, foot got caught in the ground. You get tackled from the side.
You get swiped or something.

Speaker 20 uh the uh the leg the knee goes back but man something this ain't adding up ocho

Speaker 20 i mean these athletic trainers and the sports trainers, the weight condition, strength and conditioning, they're supposed to be some of the best in the world.

Speaker 20 And you got a bill, Ocho, you got, I mean,

Speaker 20 the 49ers got to be worth seven, $8 billion.

Speaker 21 Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 21 Absolutely.

Speaker 20 Y'all got to get some people in there that know that,

Speaker 20 hey. I mean, I'm right here.
Something ain't adding up.

Speaker 21 I'm right here.

Speaker 20 Something ain't adding up.

Speaker 21 You heard me?

Speaker 20 Huh?

Speaker 21 You say, you say the 49 and

Speaker 20 somebody that knows you? You do realize that to be a strength and conditioning coach, you have to have a degree.

Speaker 21 And that's the problem.

Speaker 21 And that's the problem. That's why everybody keeps motherfucking getting hurt.
Because they worry about shit that ain't got nothing to do with no guy. It does.

Speaker 21 Yes. Hold on, listen to me.
You go to school and you learn about all these things that mean nothing when it comes to playing that violent sport.

Speaker 21 You should bring somebody in there that's played a violent sport and was able to do it without getting hurt. That's what you need to do.
That don't take no degree.

Speaker 20 Under that premise, all your great coaches should have played in the NFL. How many great NFL you say? Somebody that played.

Speaker 21 Hold on, hold on, now.

Speaker 21 We talk about preventing injuries. Now, you're going from Ab, you're going from apples to oranges.

Speaker 20 That's no totally besides this.

Speaker 20 So, in other words, you're saying that because

Speaker 20 you played and didn't get injured,

Speaker 21 yeah, never, nothing.

Speaker 20 But no, the key, no injury, no, no hamstrings, no souls.

Speaker 20 Who's built like Ocho?

Speaker 20 So you're asking people to

Speaker 20 do what you did when they're not built like you. They don't have the biomac or mechanics like you.

Speaker 21 They might not be built like me, right? They might not have my makeup or my DNA.

Speaker 21 But based on their size and the structure of how they built, I'm able to finagle the system and what they need to do to ensure they don't get hurt. That's what I do.
That's what I'm good at.

Speaker 21 That's why I understand on how to the longevity. I'm 57.
I still ain't been hurt. And I'm still active.

Speaker 21 Like I'm, I'm hey, I get active out there right now, playing soccer, I'm playing pickleball, I'm playing tennis. Like, I'm still active, nothing wrong with me.

Speaker 20 Nothing requires you to be as violent with the sudden start and stops like an NFL football player.

Speaker 21 Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So, the fact that I was able to do it with nothing happening, nothing.

Speaker 21 Listen, I wish I could give Joe Burrow my toe. I wish I could give CeeDee Lamb my ankle.

Speaker 21 I could give, man. I wish I could give Nick Bosu my knee.

Speaker 21 I don't need him.

Speaker 21 Man, I'm telling you, I can prevent this stuff, man, but nobody want to listen to me, man.

Speaker 20 Yeah,

Speaker 20 that's probably not going to, that's probably not going to happen.

Speaker 21 I know, it's all good, though. It's all good.

Speaker 20 It's all good.

Speaker 20 I don't know if they want 47-year-old knees and 47-year-old ankles anyway.

Speaker 21 Oh, yes, yes, you do. You want these.
You want these. Hey, this ain't nothing but magic.
But hey, look at these knees. You ain't never seen no knees like this.
Look at that.

Speaker 20 Hey, as soon as they got, hey, they still 47. So when a 27 year old get out there running, stop, pop, ah.

Speaker 21 No, no, no, no, no, no, no. If, if, if I put these knees and I put these feet on anybody that's in today's NFL,

Speaker 21 man, please.

Speaker 20 Man, please.

Speaker 21 You talking about magic?

Speaker 20 Magic. They're magic, huh?

Speaker 21 What happened to you?

Speaker 20 Where you got that from?

Speaker 21 Yeah. They Ocho, let me hold it.

Speaker 20 Yeah, yeah, they ain't going to be moving too fast with your with some 47-year-old knees and ankles.

Speaker 21 Hey, uh, I just timed myself in the 40 the other day onk

Speaker 21 you won't believe what i ran

Speaker 21 i probably wouldn't oh joe what'd you run i ran a 4-4 onk 447.

Speaker 21 lord have mercy 4-4-7 onk right now that's that's faster than 73 of the nfl right now oh joe now i'm not saying i could play but the fact that i can run in a straight line that fast at 57 that means something

Speaker 20 I don't know, Ocho, if you run 4-4, but okay, I'm going to take your word for it.

Speaker 21 You just heard Fred Curley tell you I beat him, Unk. That was just last year when we was training at Tropical Park down here in Miami.

Speaker 21 I'm telling you, I can go in a straight line, boy. I'm here.
I'm here to deal with.

Speaker 20 I'm going to take your word for it, Ocho. Yeah.

Speaker 20 After three weeks with veteran quarterback Russell Wilson on the center, the

Speaker 20 New York Giants may be considering a change. Brian Dayball told reporters today, we just watched the tape here.
We're in meetings with players right now. It's not all on one guy.

Speaker 20 There's multiple reasons why certain plays don't come out the way we wanted them to come out. When pressed about whether that means a quarterback change is on the table,

Speaker 20 Dayball said, we're evaluating everything. Damn.

Speaker 20 The Giants initially planned to take their time with Dart's development. However, the team's struggles amid an 0-3 record only made the call for Dart to replace Russell Wilson grow louder.

Speaker 21 And listen,

Speaker 21 you called that earlier. You called it earlier.
So that eight weeks, that eight weeks might turn into four. That eight weeks might turn into five, depending on how the next two games go.

Speaker 21 I don't think the ball, the ball will go to him this early in the season because do you really want to throw him out there right now and

Speaker 21 mess with his conscience?

Speaker 20 Mess up?

Speaker 20 You told me you can't learn nothing on the bench. If I'm losing, shouldn't I be losing with the guy and getting him some experience?

Speaker 21 I know one thing.

Speaker 21 Also, throwing him out there to the wolves like that,

Speaker 21 you know what you can lose to? Your goddamn confidence. You can lose your goddamn confidence.
As a young rookie quarterback, go out there and get beat upside the head if you want to.

Speaker 20 If I put him out there, oh choo and they lose confidence, he wasn't a guy for me anyway. So I need to see that.
So I need to see that sooner than later.

Speaker 21 Hey, my uncle, you know how it is, though.

Speaker 20 I do understand how it is.

Speaker 21 It's already a shit show as it is. You're 0-3.
Certain things aren't going well.

Speaker 21 The offensive line ain't really giving Russ the kind of time, ample time he needs to be able to orchestrate the offense. And then you throw the rookie out there.

Speaker 21 Listen, he might be able to make some plays. He might be able to make some plays.
He might show flashes of what we saw in the preseason.

Speaker 21 But them goddamn defenses and exotic stuff and coverages that he's going to see once he gets in there and realize, oh, this ain't the preseason. Oh, it's not as easy as it was back then.

Speaker 21 Now we're scheming. Now we're trying to, we, oh, no, it's different, huh? Ocho.
It's different.

Speaker 20 Ocho, on fourth down, Russ threw the ball out of the end zone. Why would you do that?

Speaker 20 Don't you want to give your, okay, even if it's intercepted, you turn the ball over. Don't you want to give your guy at least a chance to make a play on the ball, Ocho? Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 20 You're right, honestly. I mean, there's some things a veteran quarterback should understand.
I never understood that.

Speaker 20 A guy on fourth down, he throw the ball in the stands or he throw the ball out of bounds. Well, who gonna catch it over there and gonna get you a completion? Bless you.

Speaker 21 Right, thank you.

Speaker 20 You're right. I just, I

Speaker 20 just thought

Speaker 20 when you draft a quarterback and it seems to be that they got that they wanted all along,

Speaker 20 they weren't sure that he would be there.

Speaker 20 They seemed very ecstatic that they were able to get him when they got him.

Speaker 21 Yes.

Speaker 20 You know this, Ocho.

Speaker 20 When

Speaker 20 you start to move teams, because you got to realize this is this is Russ's fourth team in four years. Right.

Speaker 20 Now,

Speaker 20 they don't see you as the long-term solution. Right.

Speaker 20 They don't.

Speaker 20 And especially if they got a guy, especially if they got a, they drafted a guy in the first round, Ocho. You know, they see him.
And they were just hoping we could get a,

Speaker 20 maybe he can give us a year. Yeah.
Maybe he can just give us a good solid year.

Speaker 21 That's it.

Speaker 21 If anything,

Speaker 21 I would go to Jameis. I would go to Jameis.
If you want to make a quarterback change, I would go to Jameis and continue to allow Mahomes did it with Alex Smith. You know,

Speaker 21 allow him to continue to develop, being able to get those mental reps from the sideline. Yes.
It's time for him to get in there. Okay, you know what?

Speaker 21 Once you don't close the door already, and you just signed Jameis, you just signed Russell Wilson for one-year deals, and then had them sitting on the bench, you know, for no reason.

Speaker 21 In case something goes wrong with Jackson Dart,

Speaker 21 not wishing any injury on him from that part.

Speaker 21 But I think if you're going to go with Russ, go with Russ, if you're going to make a change, make the change to Jameis, allow him to get some reps in to see what he can do.

Speaker 21 You know, Jamie could be magic for five, six weeks in a row.

Speaker 20 Yeah.

Speaker 21 You know, so I mean, I don't know. It's unfortunate.

Speaker 20 I've always felt that Jackson and Dart was going to start sooner rather than later. Yeah.

Speaker 20 Especially if they started out. This is the worst situation that could have possibly happened is that you're 0-3.
And you know

Speaker 20 that fan base. You know the articles that they write.
You know talk radio, what they say.

Speaker 21 They impatient.

Speaker 20 It's, it's, it's, uh,

Speaker 20 I just, I just didn't see him surviving. Yeah.
I just, I just, given that team, I didn't see him being able to put together enough wins to keep Jackson Dart on the bench for the entire season.

Speaker 20 That's it. All that, I mean, we can say whatever we want, but I just didn't see with that team, with the offensive line, that

Speaker 20 they were going to be able to win enough games. And we, you know, I gave you the schedule last night.
It is not easy. Yeah, at all.
It is not easy.

Speaker 20 I mean, they got the Eagles twice in a three-week span.

Speaker 21 Yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 20 That's crazy.

Speaker 20 I don't know, Ojo. I mean,

Speaker 20 Brian Dayball seems to be losing. Look,

Speaker 20 here's the thing.

Speaker 20 If I'm Dayball, let me tell you why I go.

Speaker 20 Go Jackson Dart.

Speaker 20 I drafted

Speaker 20 i don't want somebody else to coach him right because guess what's gonna happen oh cho they're gonna fire my ass after this year if this thing don't get turned around yeah oh it's kind of like you put you put somebody through college

Speaker 20 and then all of a sudden like you don't get to reap the benefits right you got to be able to reap some benefits from this he's like i developed this guy i like this guy i really got him and then

Speaker 20 And somebody else is coaching him?

Speaker 21 And the funny thing about it is not only is somebody else is coaching him, whatever coach coach they do bring in what if he's not their guy

Speaker 20 who jackson dart yeah

Speaker 20 when you come in and they got a first-round draft pick he's your guy because they're gonna ask you what can you do what type of system that you can make sure he flourishes in okay because that's the first thing i want to know because he's the guy we just took a quarterback in the first round oh joe right we're not really trying to go do that we believe that we believe he's got so now Because remember,

Speaker 20 how he got the job. He was the quarterback whisperer.
Right. So I need another quarterback whisperer to come in.

Speaker 20 Josh McDaniels, how did he keep getting jobs? Oh, he can work with young quarterbacks. Remember, he got the job

Speaker 20 the coach because he was going to work with that. If I'm not mistaken, it was going to be Andrew Luck.

Speaker 20 Turn that down. And then he goes get the Raiders job.
He's going to be able to work with

Speaker 20 Derek Carr.

Speaker 20 So when you get this job, look, whomever's coming in,

Speaker 20 they're going to ask you,

Speaker 20 how are you going to maximize Jackson Dart?

Speaker 20 What type of offense are you going to run?

Speaker 20 How quarterback friendly is it? Offense,

Speaker 20 what type of offense is this? That's what they're going to want to know, Ocho.

Speaker 20 They just lost to the Chiefs. They're at home at the Charles.

Speaker 20 They

Speaker 20 at home versus the Chargers. And then they're at the Saints.

Speaker 20 Then they're at home versus the Eagles, at Broncos, at Eagles, home versus the 49ers, at the Bears,

Speaker 20 home versus the Packers, at the Lions.

Speaker 21 Boy, that's heavy.

Speaker 21 Hey, that's heavy. And the funny thing about it is, is Day Ball.
I'm not sure if he's on the hot seat, but if he is, if he is on the hot seat, absolutely.

Speaker 21 Oh, but listen, he's going to make a quarterback change rather sooner than later.

Speaker 20 Because guess how he got

Speaker 21 kids get coaches fired, huh? You know that, huh?

Speaker 20 Yes, I do. You remember how he got the job?

Speaker 20 Because he was supposed to work magic with who? Daniel Jones.

Speaker 20 Yeah.

Speaker 20 So that was, hey, they saw what he was doing with Josh Allen.

Speaker 20 Big kid Daniel Jones, 6'4, 6'5.

Speaker 20 Got nice legs. Can run.
Can move mobile. I can move the pocket.
I can design runs. Just quarter.

Speaker 20 A, I can do the same thing for Jackson Dart.

Speaker 21 Hey, well, listen, if anything, you better make a move now.

Speaker 20 You can make a move now.

Speaker 21 Listen, to be able to buy yourself some time if you on the hot seat because yeah oh he's on the hot seat for sure listen if you continue to lose games stand standing standing ground on russ you already know what's going to happen yes if you wait too if you wait too long and you don't have any type of success this season you out the door

Speaker 20 yeah

Speaker 20 yeah so if if i'm if i'm if i'm gonna if i'm lead look i want to go down my way yeah my way is that we got a quarterback that we took in the first round i believe we can coach him up.

Speaker 20 Ocho, can you do any worse? The worst thing you can do in the NFL is lose.

Speaker 20 I'm losing with a guy. Russ is not going to be here next year.
Right. Do you believe Russ will be on this roster next year?

Speaker 20 No, sir. Do you believe Jackson Dart will be on this roster next year? Yes, sir.
So you probably should go ahead and play him.

Speaker 21 Right.

Speaker 20 I mean, Ocho, look,

Speaker 20 you took the guy. They wanted the guy.
Yeah.

Speaker 20 I just don't see

Speaker 20 Saquon's gone. I mean, look at what Saquon is doing and did in Philly.
Look at what Daniel, the type of success, Daniel Jones.

Speaker 20 And

Speaker 20 maybe it's the Giants' organization. Maybe it's top to bottom.

Speaker 20 Maybe they're not

Speaker 20 putting in an environment where they can succeed.

Speaker 21 I mean, but that's hard to say when Eli Manning was successful, being able to win two Super Bowls.

Speaker 20 They got got more talent then than they have now.

Speaker 20 And it, you know, Brandon Jacobs running the ball. I think Tiki, I think they had Tiki running the ball.

Speaker 20 So they had, they had some, they had a nice little thing going. Brandon Jennings.
And then I forget the other guy. What was the other guy named?

Speaker 20 44 running back. I forget his name.

Speaker 21 Maud Brashaw.

Speaker 20 Yeah, Maud Brashaw. Yes.
Yes.

Speaker 20 Yes.

Speaker 20 Look at that defense. I mean, they got some nice defensive linemen.
I mean, you know, Stray ain't walking through that door. Tuck, Ocean.
They're not walking through that door. Pierce.

Speaker 20 They had a nice little squad.

Speaker 20 Right now, this is not going to get it done.

Speaker 20 It's really that simple. And you look at that schedule.

Speaker 20 Guys, Chargers, Saints, Eagles, Broncos, Eagles, Niners, Bears, Packers, Lions. Well,

Speaker 21 that's a horrible gauntlet to have to go through.

Speaker 20 Yeah, Victor Cruz, Plexico. I mean, look, they got some, look, and I think the thing is also, Ojo, people are looking like, man,

Speaker 20 Malik Neighbors

Speaker 20 had all those catches last year, all those yards, and the quarterback supposedly weren't near as good as what we got now. Right.
Why this man got four or five catches?

Speaker 20 Why this man all they can't get him can't find ways to get him the ball?

Speaker 20 You got to look at that. Yeah.
Because that's what the fans looking at. Man, he's one of the top receivers.
Now, he just looked, they got the man looking like a guy. And we know he's anything but.

Speaker 21 Nah, absolutely. Yeah,

Speaker 21 he's not that.

Speaker 21 Hey,

Speaker 21 you know what? That also falls on the officer coordinator, too.

Speaker 20 Well, that's Brian Dayball.

Speaker 21 That falls on him because you know, obviously, as a rookie,

Speaker 21 you're going to surprise everybody. Can you still have the same success when they know you're coming? That all comes down to officer coordinator, putting your players in position to make the plays.

Speaker 21 It's simple. Every other team that has a number one receiver, they do it extremely well.
The Ram duel, Puka, Nakua. Goddamn Tampa doing it right now with a mega Buka.

Speaker 21 It's possible.

Speaker 20 I don't know, Ocho. I might be tempted to start him at home.

Speaker 20 Get a fan something.

Speaker 21 Get a fan something to cheer for.

Speaker 20 I'm really tempted to start him at home. Because, do I really want to start him on the road in New Orleans? I damn sure don't want to start him.
I damn sure don't want to start him against the Eagles.

Speaker 20 You don't want to start him on the road against the Broncos because the one thing the Broncos can do, they can get after your quarterback.

Speaker 21 After your quarterback, yeah.

Speaker 20 Then at the Eagles, 49ers.

Speaker 20 Ocho, I'm real tempted to start him this week.

Speaker 20 I really am.

Speaker 20 Look, I would love for it to be perfect, Ocho.

Speaker 20 We have a game. We have the buy.
I get him an extra week to prepare.

Speaker 20 That would be ideal. Right.
But it is.

Speaker 21 I don't know.

Speaker 1 I don't know.

Speaker 21 I don't know.

Speaker 21 I'm curious when they get to practice Wednesday. I'm curious to who's taking the first team reps.

Speaker 21 That will tell us all we need to know.

Speaker 20 I don't know if we're going to get an opportunity to know that.

Speaker 21 Oh, we're going to know. I fly to New York tomorrow.

Speaker 20 You ain't going to be able to see the practice.

Speaker 21 No, no, but I'm flying to New York tomorrow to do something with Malik Neighbors.

Speaker 20 Oh, okay.

Speaker 21 Yeah, Wednesday. So you know, I'm going to be nosy, Unc.
Whatever.

Speaker 21 I have to go to the inner Miami, New York FC,

Speaker 21 MLS game. Right.
And what I'm doing is... for FIFA, well, EAFC 26, and Malik Neighbors is with me.
So, you know, I'm going to be nosy, Unc. You know, I'm going to ask him.

Speaker 21 What what do you think the problem is?

Speaker 20 Earlier today, Darius Slayton preached patience with Jackson Dart whenever the Giants decide to turn him over to starting quarterback. He's talented.
He's shown himself to be able to learn fast.

Speaker 20 I think he's capable of being a good NFL quarterback. If we have a lackluster performance, give him some time, give him some grades.
Don't show up and boo him in a game or two.

Speaker 20 If he doesn't do well, I expect him to do well, but I'm just saying, it might not. Give him time to grow.
Give us time to jail. Let him be an NFL quarterback.
Let him figure it out

Speaker 20 what that is. Give him a chance to become a good quarterback.

Speaker 20 That's something that I feel Daniel Jones probably didn't get a chance to become a good NFL quarterback, which is something Jackson Dart, which that's something that I hope Jackson Dart will get a chance to do if he does get the opportunity to play.

Speaker 20 Well, you know what? Man, look here, bro.

Speaker 21 It's always going to be a lot of people.

Speaker 20 Ocho, people are not patient anymore.

Speaker 20 Those days are over when you could get a quarterback, Ocho, you groom him and think about it. Steve Young sat behind Joe Montana

Speaker 20 87, 88, 89, 90, 91 for five years.

Speaker 20 Aaron Rodgers sat behind Brett Farr for three years. Yeah.

Speaker 20 That ain't happening no more.

Speaker 20 It's not.

Speaker 20 It's too much money involved.

Speaker 21 Right.

Speaker 20 Because you take a guy in the first round, Ocho is contract fully guaranteed. So you don't guarantee guaranteed the guy 20 million.
Now by the third year, I got to make a decision.

Speaker 20 Am I about to give this guy 300 million?

Speaker 21 Yeah.

Speaker 20 So

Speaker 20 I've got to find out. Think about it.
Jordan Love. Jordan Love saw for two years.
The third year, after he played his third year, Ocho, they got to break him off. Yeah.

Speaker 20 So the days of sitting, oh, Joe, we could sit because the quarterbacks weren't making that kind of money.

Speaker 21 Money, exactly.

Speaker 20 Exactly. Nah, money's going to come into play, bro.
Hey, you got to get out there and learn. You got to learn on the job.

Speaker 21 Throw him out there.

Speaker 20 Hey, you gotta learn on the job.

Speaker 21 Hey, like they do infants. When infants go swimming, take swimming lessons,

Speaker 21 throw them out there in the water.
