Speaker 13 Now, without further ado, let's begin this episode of Critical Role.
Speaker 13 I need
Speaker 24 all of you to roll a D4.
Speaker 25 What?
Speaker 26 I thought what I thought was going to happen.
Speaker 27 What did we get? Four.
Speaker 28 Four.
Speaker 29 Two. Two.
Speaker 30
Two. Two.
Four.
Speaker 13 I'm going to need Azune and Cadogan to each give me a death-saving throw.
Speaker 32 Overhead,
Speaker 27 arrows fly through the sky.
Speaker 33 Nearby, Loza Blade, about...
Speaker 35 12 or 13 years younger than the last time we saw her,
Speaker 13 cries out as
Speaker 37 two arrows go into her shoulder.
Speaker 39 You see that she takes a small axe off a holster under an arm and
Speaker 13 hucks it across a battlefield as an archer commander says,
Speaker 27 Axe in the head falls to the ground.
Speaker 13 She says, Get back under the hill and shoves a young tunks, the boar man, who at this point is only about 16 years old, is like a kid.
Speaker 13 As he grunts and snorts back into the back into the waiting darkness, you see overhead
Speaker 13 a rippling spiral of green necromantic energy
Speaker 13 shoot overhead far away from you you see your friend milo looking up and saying everyone keep moving for
Speaker 31 skull gone dead to the ground death saves from you two
Speaker 25 okay
Speaker 35 save 19 fail seven
Speaker 46 Uh
Speaker 13 Cadogan on the ground, describe your character for us in this moment and describe the injury that is starting to bleed out past the point of repair.
Speaker 48 Oh yeah, he's
Speaker 48 sliced, sliced up.
Speaker 48 Basically,
Speaker 48
he's always fighting low, so all of his injuries are up high in his body, shoulders, neck. He's got like puncture wounds super close to lungs and heart.
He's jacked from the waist up mostly.
Speaker 49 Yeah.
Speaker 37 Azune, where are you?
Speaker 35 And how do you look in this distant memory?
Speaker 50 I am 15 years old.
Speaker 39 I'm young. I'm shorter.
Speaker 20 I'm skinnier.
Speaker 51 And the last thing I remember before the lights went out was struggling to keep up with my group, these two guys that grown men at this point in my life that I've
Speaker 51 grown to emulate in a way. I saw how Teor blocks things with his shield and the way that Cadogan fights with his weapon and the noise, the screams, and I wasn't ready for that.
Speaker 51 And the smell of blood, and I misstepped. And next thing I know, the lights are out.
Speaker 52 I don't even know what hit me.
Speaker 13 Uh, you see, overhead,
Speaker 13 the sky darkens as two sorcerers of the sundered houses fly under their own power.
Speaker 21 One of them drops through the sky, looks across the battlefield,
Speaker 16 a tiny moat of light as time almost slows.
Speaker 32 I'm gonna need everybody here to roll initiative.
Speaker 55 Oh my god, I'm not ready for man.
Speaker 32 What did we get, Azune?
Speaker 56 I got a six.
Speaker 13 What did we get, Teor?
Speaker 32 18.
Speaker 13 What did we get, Thimble?
Speaker 37 15. What did we get, Cadigan?
Speaker 57 Windsy's 18.
Speaker 37 Much like before,
Speaker 13 Cadogan and Taor are going to act on the same initiative.
Speaker 32 I'll remind you, Tayor.
Speaker 61 Big cats, I'll remind you, Teor.
Speaker 45 Unfortunately for you, my friend, you're first level.
Speaker 30 Oh.
Speaker 30 Oh.
Speaker 13 It's your turn. What do you do?
Speaker 63
I try and spot. Jesus.
Can I see both Cadogan and Azune down on the ground?
Speaker 13 Yes, you can. Give me a medicine check.
Speaker 64 I don't know. I'm bleeding out, man.
Speaker 63 Oh, that's natural 18 for dirty 20.
Speaker 13 Dirty 20.
Speaker 13 Triage, you've learned enough about medicine working for Loza.
Speaker 13 Over your shoulder, you see a dwarven woman. You see she's got a thick braided beard, an empty upper lip, a thick braided beard.
Speaker 13 You see that she leans down, reaches into a satchel, takes out a small dwarven poultice, crushes it in her hand.
Speaker 13 A red mist surrounds her as she punches into the empty hole created by a spell in your comrade Lucia's chest.
Speaker 13 She's got an open cavity, ribs exposed, punches into it, and says, oh, this broken can be mended. Come on, girl, you're not done fighting yet.
Speaker 13 Rips her fist out and leaves a bunch of the flesh from her own fist stitching up Lucia's body as your dwarven medic gets her up on her feet. Norma turns to you and says, Remember, look at them.
Speaker 13 Gut, bad, limbs, they can stay.
Speaker 13 And as you look out and see Azune and you see Cadogan, you see that Azune's injury is all shoulder and chest muscle, and Cadogan's got something that's bad and bleeding. That's your medicine check.
Speaker 15 Got it.
Speaker 63 I'll try and search the air for Thimble. Any sight of her?
Speaker 35 Overhead, you see near where Lowe's is, close to the top of the hill, running down the trench as fast as possible.
Speaker 13 You see Thimble coursing down towards you with Theazi right behind, right behind her.
Speaker 32 You see, Theazi's got something in a dirty tarp wrapped up over and over and over again.
Speaker 13 Looks like he's sprinting.
Speaker 35 He here is about like, you know, late 20s, just
Speaker 13 running as fast as he can.
Speaker 35 You see, he's got about eight gilded gem-studded, like stabs and wands wrapped up in a tarp.
Speaker 25 Just
Speaker 13 as fast as he can. But you see, Thimble is way ahead of him.
Speaker 70 I'm lit up and trying to lead the way.
Speaker 63 I'm gonna call out to Thimble, we need to close ranks, and I'm gonna run towards Caddington as fast as I can and just try and put pressure on the main chest.
Speaker 13
Using your action, go ahead and give me a medicine check. The difficulty is 10.
10, okay.
Speaker 63 Natural 16 for an 18.
Speaker 13 You lean down, reaching into a bag.
Speaker 7 Norma's magical healing is great, and she is one dwarf.
Speaker 13 And so you reach down and just grab gauze, rag, wrap it around, staunch the bleeding. Cadogan stabilizes.
Speaker 25 Got it.
Speaker 37 Thimble, it is your turn.
Speaker 70 And where am I trying to lead The Azzi?
Speaker 13 The Azzi is looking up. He goes, he goes,
Speaker 13 the auxiliaries,
Speaker 44 the Baladring, the guy goes.
Speaker 37 Oh, shit.
Speaker 13 And you see that he says,
Speaker 37 Loza, do they fall back?
Speaker 13 You see, from up on top of the hill, she looks out and you see sees something closing ranks.
Speaker 27 A sorcerer drops out of the sky.
Speaker 13 You see this
Speaker 13
a third one. Um, you see beautiful white flickering tunic.
This is a sorcerer of House Cormorante, who puts points at the ground.
Speaker 37 Runes appear all around Loza.
Speaker 13 She looks, sees it happening in real time, and bursting up from a nine-pointed star is a snarling summoned Drake, like a 15-foot dragon.
Speaker 37 You see, she goes, they're over the hill, Theazi, didn't fall back, and just takes her axe and floods it into the side of this massive summoned creature.
Speaker 13 Theazi looks up at you, Thimble, and says,
Speaker 37 Over the top, and just gets his staves,
Speaker 13 whispers a little sort of like arcane word under his breath, and you see that what is being created by this sort of burning fire in the
Speaker 13 outer reach of the battlefield hits him, and you see that his shadow splits into three different shadows of himself.
Speaker 13 And he tosses a bunch of staves to all of them, and they all start running over the edge
Speaker 75 as fast as he can.
Speaker 37 Thimble, it is still your turn.
Speaker 70 I'm darting ahead, and I'm trying to find one of the sorcerers, and I'm trying to get through the ranks, get it right behind them to the back of their head, while they're distracted with all of the other shit going on.
Speaker 75 Hell yes, you see that cormorant sorcerer looks down shouting for the honor of House Cormorant for the honor of the Sun Good.
Speaker 13 Go ahead and give me an attack roll.
Speaker 13 If you want to do it from hiding, you can.
Speaker 57 Okay, okay, okay. Oh, so that's advantage.
Speaker 25 Yeah, huh?
Speaker 77 Okay,
Speaker 70 that's 16 plus 7.
Speaker 37 That is a hit. Go ahead and roll damage.
Speaker 77 Okay.
Speaker 13 I can I know what I'm doing oh good eight plus four uh remember you only have a d6 because you're first level right now so you only have one d6 a sneak attack a sneak attack you're right yes uh
Speaker 70 plus five is 13 plus two uh 15 points of damage 15 points
Speaker 29 On a natural four,
Speaker 13 the sorcerer is not felled by this blow,
Speaker 13 but does drop concentration on the summoned Drake. You reach out with your sword.
Speaker 70 I want it right here, like up into that soft part of the back of the head.
Speaker 33 Stabbing in under the skull, a little bit of blood seeps into the corner of their eyes as they lurch forward.
Speaker 13 You see, whatever magic item is compelling their flight stays active, but their concentration on this summon dissipates.
Speaker 13 As Loza says, Good looking out, Zimble.
Speaker 13 You look in that exact moment. Ozune, I'm going to need a death save from you here.
Speaker 35 You have one success? Yes. Can I use a luck point as for a death save?
Speaker 18 Yes, you can.
Speaker 80 Great.
Speaker 51 So while I'm in this, like,
Speaker 53 this darkness, I see my dad's face.
Speaker 49 And I see the moment that he had passed me off to the mercenaries way back when years before this.
Speaker 83 And the only thing I remember is him telling me that I was lucky that I was getting a second chance.
Speaker 51 And that sort of rings in my mind as I hopefully
Speaker 49 I succeed. succeed.
Speaker 60 Hell yes.
Speaker 13 You begin to stabilize. You see your father's face.
Speaker 61 There's something.
Speaker 61 It's not going to happen
Speaker 61 here.
Speaker 85 On a battlefield, arrows and spells fly overhead.
Speaker 16 Fiazzi runs.
Speaker 86 As he does, Thimble from behind the sorcerer.
Speaker 16 You look and see.
Speaker 31 Fiazzi is hit in the side and scatters, his shadows all vanishing.
Speaker 13 As he hits the ground,
Speaker 14 looking forward, you see a shape dart from the shadows ahead of him towards his body, seeing an incoming barrage
Speaker 81 flapping wings.
Speaker 54 Wyverns taking to the sky.
Speaker 50 Loza looks up and says, fall back!
Speaker 44 Fall back!
Speaker 62 A shape runs towards Theazi's body, and at the last moment you see gets two arms underneath it, lifts up his body, throws it on his shoulder, and
Speaker 13 rushes forward as fast as he can, thundering with heavy boots, drops into the trench right in front of you, saving Theazi from the oncoming barrage of these flying wyverns.
Speaker 13 As you return from the sorcerer, as Lawsa calls to fall back, the face
Speaker 50 lifts him up, looks at you.
Speaker 47 Casimir smiles.
Speaker 26 Agodim, let's fall back
Speaker 89 and we'll find out the fate of our old friend Casimir on this episode of Critical Rolling.
Speaker 55 Wait, did we keep going? We keep going.
Speaker 90 So earlier this week, we had our New York live show with Ford and Jester's Wednesday.
Speaker 90 But if you missed it, our partner Fathom Entertainment is bringing it to movie theaters across the United States States and Canada for one night only on October 15th at 7 p.m. local time.
Speaker 90
Tickets are available for purchase at Fathom Events. Nope.
FathomEntertainment.com slash critical role.
Speaker 72 We're sticking with it, baby. Matt!
Speaker 2 Thank you, Marcia.
Speaker 93 We also have a Kickstarter going on right now for the Dagger Heart Class Packs.
Speaker 93 A new entry point to the game for some, or a chance to get a second set of cards for your Oops All Seraph's Party, or Oops All Wizards, or Oops All Anything, really.
Speaker 93 But these packs of cards hold anything an individual player needs to play their class from level one all the way to level 10.
Speaker 93
It includes ancestry cards, community cards, subclass cards, and all the cards from the two domains that combine to create each unique class. So check it out now at bit.ly/slash dh class packs.
And
Speaker 42 I can't wait for you to check it out.
Speaker 25 You're up, you're up.
Speaker 95 Guess what?
Speaker 72 In honor of Florida and Jesus, ow, I hit my elbow.
Speaker 10 Hello,
Speaker 91 darling.
Speaker 10 We're back with the song.
Speaker 10 We made
Speaker 71 Sherpa
Speaker 71 fleece
Speaker 56 jackets.
Speaker 71
Oh. Lear, look at yours.
This is the Ford one.
Speaker 71 And this is
Speaker 71 the Jessa.
Speaker 55 Wait, are they reversible?
Speaker 70 No, but they just got really soft, fabulous lining.
Speaker 10 Both of them. My name is.
Speaker 10 Wait, no,
Speaker 72 give me that Ford. They're so cute.
Speaker 90 These are so Ashley Johnson.
Speaker 10 They're so super cute.
Speaker 70
So anyway, we made the gesture one in and we liked it so much. We're like, we have to make a Ford one too.
So there's that.
Speaker 63 You made a Ford one. Give me a break.
Speaker 70 The Ford one was not the OG. The Jester was the OG.
Speaker 10 Is there a tiny B?
Speaker 64 There's a tiny B on it.
Speaker 71 But wait, does that one has like an acre of Wild Mother?
Speaker 70 Actually, it's not Wild Mother. It's an acre with the Wild Mother floor.
Speaker 96 The Wild Acre.
Speaker 70 I'm afraid this is going to make noise with my microphone.
Speaker 57 So I'm going to
Speaker 10 write it down.
Speaker 71 This is super cool.
Speaker 70 This next thing I'm going to talk about is.
Speaker 97 Wait, there's more? Wait, there's more.
Speaker 70 You all know Spirit Halloween. You've seen them pop up all around your towns.
Speaker 10 They just launched the first ever critical role constantly.
Speaker 91 Oh, my God.
Speaker 55 That's not true.
Speaker 57 Which of my characters is it?
Speaker 70 It's not yours online.
Speaker 64 They picked the popular ones.
Speaker 10 There's a jester one.
Speaker 70 Wait, this isn't the official packaging. I shouldn't show you this part.
Speaker 96 Hey, there's stuff. God,
Speaker 96 look at that online.
Speaker 70 Go to spirithalloween.com and you can see them online and
Speaker 70 you'll see how amazing these costumes are.
Speaker 10 In addition to the jester one, there's also a Molly one.
Speaker 91 Yes.
Speaker 71 So these are all in
Speaker 70 they're all chaotic in here because everybody's been putting them on a ramme on.
Speaker 94 You're presenting them.
Speaker 10 I know. Listen, this is not.
Speaker 10 I didn't want to.
Speaker 10 They're so cute, though.
Speaker 70 They're quality.
Speaker 10 They're, yeah. Get yours today at morehalloween.com.
Speaker 64 More designs on the coat than there will be on the animated series.
Speaker 10 I was wearing this earlier.
Speaker 10 Oh, it's actually quite comfy.
Speaker 64 Insanely.
Speaker 10 Oh, wait a minute.
Speaker 10
Put it in. They're so cute.
They're so cute.
Speaker 96 I know. Look at the little sleeves on this.
Speaker 10 Oh, yeah, they don't know.
Speaker 96 They made the sleeves right.
Speaker 10 Good job.
Speaker 10 Thanks.
Speaker 70 Best announcements ever.
Speaker 10 Yeah.
Speaker 72 I don't know.
Speaker 64 Matt's right something.
Speaker 93 I believe that concludes our announcements here at the Critical Role Announcement Playhouse.

Speaker 16 We return here
Speaker 16 to Dolmakyar,
Speaker 23 the eastern edge of God.
Speaker 13 That's right, I'm opening the episode with the butt kicker and the table
Speaker 23 Upstairs in Hallandiel Fang's office, side by side with Tysha Loy,
Speaker 107 you stare at shuddering flakes of black ceramic, curved in outline like a shattered mask, dancing under the vibrations of the table.
Speaker 84 Closer and closer together.
Speaker 14 Downstairs in the funeral, Valis,
Speaker 54 wandering elf from the the Mournvale, coming and seeking a stolen artifact.
Speaker 109 Bolair
Speaker 27 of the Loy Wing, a curator of artifacts.
Speaker 20 Murray Magnesson, a dwarven wizard of the Penteverl, and Sir Julian Davinos,
Speaker 58 a vassal of the House Royce, all hear a shaking and shuddering elsewhere in the home.
Speaker 111 As you look around and see the guests, look and see if anything strange or unusual has occurred.
Speaker 16 In this moment, we cut back upstairs.
Speaker 111 Hal and Taisho, what do you do?
Speaker 113 Hal and you, I don't know what I brought.
Speaker 114 I'm what Ty, what I'm what am what are we looking at?
Speaker 115 It looks like a mask. I don't
Speaker 115 Yazzie asked me to get this. This is uh Octus and I, when we were in Venatus, this is what we were meant to find and bring back.
Speaker 57 I was supposed to hand it off to
Speaker 116 I was supposed to hand it off to Bolaire.
Speaker 83 Are we still, uh,
Speaker 117 GM, are we looking at remnants, still fragments, or have they formed?
Speaker 38 They have no longer formed, but they did, for what it's worth, shudder inward towards the center, towards each other.
Speaker 50 Okay.
Speaker 116 Can I reach forward with one and just, like, nudge two pieces together?
Speaker 31 Give me a constitution savings.
Speaker 97 Why?
Speaker 119 Natural one.
Speaker 63 Hal's hand did snake out to her wrist. I don't know if that is going to continue to be.
Speaker 121 If you give me a DC, what's your dexterity?
Speaker 75 Oh, God. I don't know.
Speaker 75 Not enough.
Speaker 64 We'll see how quick Hal is on the draw here.
Speaker 76 I got a 13.
Speaker 27 13?
Speaker 67 Hal, give me a.
Speaker 13 You have 13 dexterity?
Speaker 35 Give me a DC 13 sleight of hand check.
Speaker 30 That's not great. Hold on.
Speaker 122 Curse.
Speaker 123 Curse. That's only a 10.
Speaker 25
10. Got it.
Die. Die.
Speaker 25 Die. Die.
Speaker 64
Help. Die.
And then
Speaker 40 that's game.
Speaker 25 Tysha.
Speaker 35 On a Nat One Constitution Saving Throw.
Speaker 25 Oh, no.
Speaker 125 You warmed up this time.
Speaker 13 We're going to be really clear. This is episode two, and I'm going to set a really important, let's call it precedent about
Speaker 66 touching stuff.
Speaker 37 Tysha, you touch one of the flakes
Speaker 51 and
Speaker 35 how what you see immediately in this moment is, first of all,
Speaker 31 everybody downstairs hears
Speaker 13 as Tysha,
Speaker 27 you touch this fragment in the center.
Speaker 27 The fragment drops through the velvet, which itself, the velvet, drops into a conical swirling mist.
Speaker 7 The mist spirals down, spreading as the velvet magically transmutes into mist, swirling down, down, down as the fragments instantaneously fall in, until every velvet or lining of this box is instead thick,
Speaker 58 ice-cold mist.
Speaker 35 And amongst the fragments that disappear and the fabric, the other thing that disappears in this moment is your consciousness as you collapse to the ground.
Speaker 29 You take
Speaker 53 one point of falling damage. No.
Speaker 117 So mechanically drop to unconscious?
Speaker 47 Drop to unconscious.
Speaker 4 Alright, so how
Speaker 65 falls to his knees, scoops underneath.
Speaker 119 Wait, so he didn't catch me?
Speaker 69 No, there was no...
Speaker 67 We all saw the 10.
Speaker 44 The half-assed trust fall to the ground.
Speaker 64 Yeah.
Speaker 64 All right.
Speaker 127 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 117 And his arms are going to run down along her arms, and he will say one word, but and nobody hears it because I'm alone with my unconscious baby mama.
Speaker 100 But he just says the word stay, but it reverberates.
Speaker 4 It echoes low as I cast healing word.
Speaker 73 Incredible.
Speaker 129 So you say stay, you heal one hit point of damage.
Speaker 81 As you say stay, I think Tysha, in unconsciousness, your eyelids flicker.
Speaker 87 The sclera and pupils of Tysha's eyes are a roiling cool mist.
Speaker 13 Everybody downstairs?
Speaker 26 Maybe you should give her mouth some out.
Speaker 97 I'm down with Bayless.
Speaker 25 She can have whatever she wants.
Speaker 13 We're going to go back downstairs. Is anybody reacting in this moment?
Speaker 57 I'm going to start walking upstairs.
Speaker 64 I'm still holding
Speaker 77 my cocktail.
Speaker 41 Push past.
Speaker 32 Push past Bayless. This none, because hell no.
Speaker 57 Hey, do you guys think that we should?
Speaker 79 And there they go. All right.
Speaker 133 I guess.
Speaker 25 Yeah, I'll follow. You follow upstairs.
Speaker 35 As you head up, you see that Shadia is still going to run upstairs as well.
Speaker 27 You see, Olgood looks,
Speaker 27 seeing a bunch of you all head up and goes, ah,
Speaker 13 nobody else. And you see, he just sort of gets on the stairs and tries to play defense.
Speaker 37 This is sort of an aging theater producer who looks at this armored elven warrior and is like, I don't think if I say don't go up there, she'll listen.
Speaker 33 And just sort of boxes everybody else out.
Speaker 36 However,
Speaker 108 Murray, you want to head up there.
Speaker 75 Julian, what are you doing?
Speaker 134 Julian's going to stay below and kind of more or less interpose himself between Lady Arnessa and whatever this might be up the stairs. She kind of keeps a keen eye.
Speaker 68 She says, is everything all right?
Speaker 135 We don't know yet, but let other people get in the front of danger before us, and if it gets bad, we'll leave immediately.
Speaker 82 She looks up and goes
Speaker 108 ever ever valorous so julian um she
Speaker 55 um
Speaker 26 she
Speaker 80 uh uh as you uh so bolair valis and murray you rush up the stairs shadia looks at you howling goes dad mom uh and reaches down uh to look into tysha's eyes um
Speaker 13 uh the three of you what do you bolair you see the box mist you do not see there is no longer anything in the box other than mist that stops swirling and now is just
Speaker 53 lined with thick fog.
Speaker 136 Can I roll an arcana check to see if I know what the fuck is happening?
Speaker 34 Let's do it.
Speaker 35 15 gets you something, 20 gets you more, 25 gets you everything.
Speaker 137 Uh, that's uh, hold on, double 18.
Speaker 100 Yes, double 18s.
Speaker 93 So that's uh 18, 19, 20, 21.
Speaker 138 25.
Speaker 66 25!
Speaker 46 Uh,
Speaker 64 24 sorry 24 19 20 22 24
Speaker 124 um uh
Speaker 32 hell yeah 24 great amazing so you look and see here
Speaker 67 it's a silver box it's about yay big you know it's it's not it's not a music box it's it's large um
Speaker 7 set it it's not solid silver but the plates that adorn what you believe to be a a wooden box uh Just looking at,
Speaker 20 in terms of its construction, so it looks more like the silver or is in solid plates, it's worked.
Speaker 81 You recognize
Speaker 18 this language as an archaic, heightened version of Kessian, which is a halfling language interspersed with certain celestial glyphs.
Speaker 13 You recognize some terms on it.
Speaker 27 There is a word here.
Speaker 121 One of the words that's written here is obsidia in Celestial, which is an archaic, no longer used term for the tenebral reaches.
Speaker 29 Prior to the Shapers War, the realm of death
Speaker 16 was
Speaker 14 as a shifting veil of shadow, a momentary darkness passed through on the way to the realms of final rest, the halls of the gods.
Speaker 34 The underworld used to be a
Speaker 102 metaphysical clearing house, a momentary place for souls to travel.
Speaker 16 And legends of the undead in ages of Araman past
Speaker 112 were
Speaker 142 the stuff of myth and legend.
Speaker 20 To have a spirit so powerful that it could resist the resting places ordained by the gods was something
Speaker 45 of profound magic.
Speaker 35 Obsidia was a term for that
Speaker 20 veil. It was sort of a celestial term for that veil.
Speaker 53 But
Speaker 35 you would be well aware that after the Shapers' War,
Speaker 23 what was a curtain expanded slightly.
Speaker 45 as the gods were destroyed their realms of
Speaker 14 rest
Speaker 24 vanished in the worst instances of catastrophe and and doom saying by the population some believe that they were destroyed and all those eternal souls destroyed due to the hubris of the mortals that rose up against the gods others that you know the clerics that have come since that work in theoretical metaphysics that Bolair would be well aware of, believe that the afterlives are still out there, just
Speaker 45 untethered from Araman currently.
Speaker 27 That's a matter of theology and conjecture,
Speaker 108 and a lot of very flustered clerics would tell a worried mortal, we're working on it.
Speaker 45 Now,
Speaker 13 oh no, you realize as you're looking at it, this
Speaker 146 artifact,
Speaker 43 the silver plates are ancient, but you don't believe that this box is ancient.
Speaker 147 You believe that this was constructed with older materials and has to, and you see, makes reference to Obsidia and in the parts in Kessian refer to the realms of final rest, which would be a common parlance of
Speaker 84 the afterlives, the various halls of the gods.
Speaker 81 And you realize as you're looking at this and looking at this ancient halfling language on it,
Speaker 87 you're not looking at a box.
Speaker 50 You're looking at a coffin.
Speaker 152 It's halfling?
Speaker 80 Halfling-sized.
Speaker 64 It's halfling-sized.
Speaker 32 About that big as a coffin for a half-ling.
Speaker 42 Oh, boy.

Speaker 34 What happened? Um.
Speaker 117 Tysha just showed me this and she opened it and here we are.
Speaker 79 I'm just saying if you guys wanted to like hotbox the place, it would have been nice to share and get an invite.
Speaker 116 I don't think you want some of the smoke I just got, but thank you.
Speaker 116 Are you okay?
Speaker 26 No,
Speaker 31 Tysha, give me a perception check.
Speaker 78 I'm afraid.
Speaker 133 Oh, the ties do go higher.
Speaker 25 How fun.
Speaker 119 Uh, plus seven. 25.
Speaker 24 Uh, as you look up and see Valis,
Speaker 16 uh, you connect the mist begins to leave your eyes, but as you look at her, you hear
Speaker 16 a distant bird song
Speaker 24 of a bird that you as a druid know is not
Speaker 127 native to this part of the world.
Speaker 17 You hear the call of a nightingale distantly.
Speaker 17 Night song.
Speaker 122 What happened?
Speaker 29 What
Speaker 30 happened?
Speaker 30 I.
Speaker 148 He already said it. Get out of my face.
Speaker 116 We opened the box.
Speaker 30 I touched part of
Speaker 115 the remnants of what looked like a mask, and then I died a little bit.
Speaker 159 And now I'm here.
Speaker 116 And everyone's a little too close to me right now.
Speaker 123 One breath at a time. You touched
Speaker 120 a mask in an ancient
Speaker 160 silver coffin.
Speaker 110 I, I.
Speaker 115 And I've learned an important lesson here.
Speaker 79 I'm not normally a gambling woman, but I'd be willing to bet my left hit that this has something to do with whatever this fancy lady wants.
Speaker 117 Alright, what is the fancy above table? What's the fancy lady doing right now in this moment?
Speaker 159 Um,
Speaker 161 I am taking in the scene, mostly focusing on
Speaker 161 Hal, Tysha, and Shadia, them as a family, and watching
Speaker 161 Shadia care for her mother.
Speaker 28 Give me an insight, Chuck.
Speaker 25 Oh boy, which one do I pick?
Speaker 127 You got it.
Speaker 64
Okay, okay. Don't ask me.
Okay, okay.
Speaker 56 I'm going to do this one.
Speaker 132 I'll also say in this moment of privacy, Hal, you're looking at Bolaire here.
Speaker 132 Bolair, you're looking at this box.
Speaker 68 It is.
Speaker 41 you're on that 24.
Speaker 24 You know there are things here that are escaping your attention at the moment, but you know where you have resources to
Speaker 146 dig in, where there are where you have research and knowledge, specifically about objects of this construction.
Speaker 42 Is the box closed right now?
Speaker 106 It is open, and as you see that roiling mist in there, I think you in particular feel
Speaker 19 your stomach
Speaker 112 gurgle or turn a little bit in a way that on a physical level is jarring.
Speaker 136 I cannot go through this here.
Speaker 123 Can anyone close the box without touching it?
Speaker 79
Yeah, I got you. Just calm down.
Everybody calm down. And I use a Meijan to
Speaker 27 close it.
Speaker 28 The box latches, and all of you can feel, not immediately, but after a moment or two, the temperature in the room starts to rise, making you feel that enclosing the box, that that mist maybe is not like waiting for you in there.
Speaker 114 Now, your attention is split to multiple people.
Speaker 117 I am trying to, in this moment, read if Bolaire seems like he knows what's going on and if
Speaker 117 Valis is a threat to my family.
Speaker 18 Insight deception.
Speaker 144 What was your insight?
Speaker 82 16. 16.
Speaker 13 I think you see that Shadia is very worried.
Speaker 18 Hal is very worried.
Speaker 61 I think on a 16, I'm actually wrong.
Speaker 115 If I feel you like tensing up beside me, I'll just reach a hand up and I'll cast guidance.
Speaker 17 Shadia rolled a four.
Speaker 106 Shadia is angry at her mother in this moment.
Speaker 81 She is she is bending down, caring for her, but as her mother speaks about reaching out and touching this thing, you see that there is a familiar set of well-worn lines in this 25-year-old half-work woman's face as she looks at her adventurer mother with a look of
Speaker 16 disappointment and frustration.
Speaker 117 I think that having helped Tysha not completely eat shit hitting the ground and reviving her a bit, our fingers are kind of intertwined in a familiar way, and
Speaker 117 you can feel me tensing up,
Speaker 22 which
Speaker 117 my hand grips harder, and I guess the guidance goes through that.
Speaker 117 And my insight is a 24 with that.
Speaker 16 Do you want to give me a deception? 17.
Speaker 146 17.
Speaker 17 You've known Bolaire for a long time.
Speaker 61 On that 17, getting
Speaker 81 with a 24 versus 17, Tal, go ahead and let Liam know what he's able to read on Bolaire's face.
Speaker 160 I know something.
Speaker 136 I am both fascinated
Speaker 127 and angry
Speaker 127 at
Speaker 127 her.
Speaker 143 Does that also include her? I think she's a champion.
Speaker 57 She's a hero.
Speaker 32 Legend. Legend.
Speaker 42 Same insight for Valis being a threat to the family.
Speaker 24 Is Valis a threat to the family in this moment?
Speaker 122 Undecided.
Speaker 92 I think she's a legend.
Speaker 52 My eyes flash to my brother's sword on the desk, then back to
Speaker 114 the party here.
Speaker 97 You know, I'm looking at Bolair.
Speaker 123 We need to get that out of this house.
Speaker 113 Yeah, clearly.
Speaker 79 You know, I could, if we want to take a minute, I could do a little bit of a, you know, a little tinkering, a little scanning.
Speaker 92 But, you know, we are a mixed company. But if it would just make everybody feel better.
Speaker 128 I touched the wrong thing many years ago and have had this
Speaker 73 thing
Speaker 136 stuck to me ever since.
Speaker 160 Half the people at the museum have been maimed touching the wrong thing.
Speaker 160 Whatever else shows up tonight, do not touch it if you don't know where it came from.
Speaker 65 Who touched what?
Speaker 134 Sir Julian is now stepped carefully up to the door frame and entering the scene a little late.
Speaker 127 Oh, you're still here.
Speaker 161 Where did this come from?
Speaker 136 I'm going to take it away, and you will be the first to know what I know.
Speaker 25 Bolaire,
Speaker 31 the museum's protective gloves
Speaker 143 on your hands.
Speaker 32 A little subtle piece of...
Speaker 62 Not necessarily anti-magic, but at least...
Speaker 42 warding. I'm going to give one of them to you, because this is
Speaker 30 big.
Speaker 136 This is big enough that I do not want to accidentally slip and drop it.
Speaker 42 This is a bomb.
Speaker 79 I think we should take maybe the back streets, get this to the pin type roll, get this to my office, and then we can do our investigation there.
Speaker 136 I may have a carriage.
Speaker 97 Yeah. And I think in lieu of like responding to that like well-earned like castigation,
Speaker 97 Tysha is like
Speaker 97 kind of hanging back and leaning against Hal and just sort of passively started like it's not really a whistle. It's like something wheezy in her chest, but it sounds like a nightingale.
Speaker 127 All right.
Speaker 136 I'm going to, yeah, on the way.
Speaker 79 I'm going to look at everybody.
Speaker 113 Hal.
Speaker 113 Condolences.
Speaker 79 We're going to be in contact.
Speaker 97 Great funeral.
Speaker 92 I think Theazi would have gone on.
Speaker 79 I think he'd think this whole thing was really funny.
Speaker 154 He'd get a kick out of this.
Speaker 119 We're going to go. I'll call you.
Speaker 55
All right. I'm going to go.
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 85 As the two of them head out, yes, Vaylis.
Speaker 27 Before you leave.
Speaker 161 So we investigated the box.
Speaker 112 Yes.
Speaker 154 So all of that information was just on the box.
Speaker 161 We didn't touch the mask.
Speaker 32 By the time you got up here, there was no mask.
Speaker 119 Okay, got it.
Speaker 117 Broke my chair. I'm so excited.
Speaker 25 Oh.
Speaker 25 Works.
Speaker 68 There was no mask. There was no mask.
Speaker 70 So we just saw the box.
Speaker 97 I am going to kind of whisper to Vaylis before we go out.
Speaker 25 Look, do me a favor.
Speaker 113 Please try not to murder this family. They've been through enough.
Speaker 113 They don't need you going on a rampage.
Speaker 74 All right.
Speaker 25 I think I can help you.
Speaker 113 So let's not harass
Speaker 116 people
Speaker 25 who are in over their debts.
Speaker 127 Absolutely.
Speaker 161 There will be no unnecessary murder here today.
Speaker 25 Please, you got it. Thank you.
Speaker 88 Shadia looks over at you and goes, what about necessary murder?
Speaker 81 Yeah.
Speaker 117 Why don't you head downstairs and make sure that whoever's left is looked after?
Speaker 89 I'll head downstairs, Dad.
Speaker 134 While that conversation is happening, Sir Julian has
Speaker 134 leaned forward and put his hand out towards Taisha and says, looks like it took a nasty spin.
Speaker 14 Thank you.
Speaker 25 And I'm going to grip your hand just a little too tight on the way up and pull.
Speaker 89 As Murray and Belair head out, you see that Aranessa turns to you, Hal, and says,
Speaker 16 Are you going to be all right here? And she
Speaker 23 eyes over to Valis.
Speaker 17 If you need anything, I think Sir Julian and I will return to the Divinos estate.
Speaker 117 I'm going to look at Valis.
Speaker 30 No.
Speaker 52 Her visitor and I don't have any grievance.
Speaker 6 We do not.
Speaker 117 I have nothing to hide in my house.
Speaker 161 That's good to know.
Speaker 24 As the night winds down, Julian, you see Marie and Bolaire heading off to his carriage and taking off
Speaker 38 across the river
Speaker 27 towards the Loy wing.
Speaker 17 And then, Julian, Iranessa turns to you.
Speaker 107 Are we done here?
Speaker 123 I believe our business is concluded, yes.
Speaker 24 Let us get to safer spaces.
Speaker 25 I'll turn to Helen.
Speaker 123 Love her, thank you kindly for your hospitality.
Speaker 114 Always and for all.
Speaker 105 Murray and Bolaire jump into either side of a carriage headed to the Arkanade across the river
Speaker 17 in, I believe, the neighborhood of...
Speaker 35 This would be... Yeah, this is in Marut, all the way.
Speaker 27 Oh, sorry, no, this is in Lugzash, across the river.
Speaker 21 As you...
Speaker 31 Head across the river, think Bolaire, you have a moment in your finery turning to look at the wide-brimmed hat of this dwarven wizard across from you.
Speaker 35 You guys have been in contact before, but now you both head to the museum together.
Speaker 113 Charming night,
Speaker 4 isn't it, Juxt?
Speaker 35 We see another carriage pulling away from the funeral.
Speaker 13 As Julian, you get in the back of the carriage with the lady Aranessa, who goes,
Speaker 20 who looks and says,
Speaker 120 that
Speaker 16 dwarven woman with gemstone teeth.
Speaker 114 She is a lot, you are not wrong.
Speaker 23 Well, she was absolutely right.
Speaker 141 Theazi would have loved all this crazy shit happening at his funeral.
Speaker 135 Seems like even in death,
Speaker 50 these machinations linger.
Speaker 50 I don't trust what's happening in that house.
Speaker 61 No, no, I suppose I don't either, but
Speaker 61 I don't know if I trust what's happening in ours either.
Speaker 105 Uh General Raymond, I believe, uh, should be waiting for us back at the manor.
Speaker 105 Wonderful.
Speaker 31 It'll be good to see your father again.
Speaker 120 It's been a while.
Speaker 120 Sure.
Speaker 24 Were you able to pay your respects?
Speaker 114 Yes.
Speaker 134 His demeanor is definitely darkened at the mention of his father and he just kind of looks out the window of the carriage with his hand on the hilt of his sword now his jaw just tensing for the rest of the ride and quiet
Speaker 23 And we move from this place we'll say farewell to our friends Bolaire Murray and Julian
Speaker 25 as
Speaker 58 we move forward in time to the end of the funeral
Speaker 85 Many of the last the the fires have died down to ember
Speaker 35 Many of the guests have left it's basically just I think you know how I don't know who you would who would still be basically who would still be here to help clean up at the end Shadia all good
Speaker 117 members of the troop.
Speaker 105 Yeah,
Speaker 62 I think if you're looking at members of the troop, it's all good.
Speaker 32 There's a much older woman here
Speaker 16 um Niveda um who's who's helping looking at and saying like an absolutely darling time that you all had here.
Speaker 23 It's been
Speaker 57 so tragic, you know?
Speaker 32 I think theater is at its best when she's got these sort of like hair tied up in this gorgeous to-do.
Speaker 27 She's like, it's all black, but it's a lot of frills and puffed shoulders.
Speaker 32 And he just goes.
Speaker 13 I've always thought that the theater was at its best when there was a scosh of a criminal element.
Speaker 20 And to think that Theazzi won't be around anymore.
Speaker 33 Let me help with these platters.
Speaker 23 Goes to sort of gather them up.
Speaker 117 Well, we are one inch removed from my brother's world.
Speaker 117 I, Valus, who's still here, with just the closest people to the family still here and trickling out.
Speaker 117 Just permit me a few more moments. I
Speaker 117 really like to get over the whole stranger's thing.
Speaker 50 One second.
Speaker 157 Hero, hun.
Speaker 20 Uh, Hero comes over to you. As you see, Elody is preparing to leave as well.
Speaker 23 Uh, Hero comes over and goes, Dad?
Speaker 25 Do you have your liar?
Speaker 25 Yeah.
Speaker 25 Do you want me to get it? I can go get it.
Speaker 76 Yeah, grab it.
Speaker 47 Um, you see that she runs over and grabs a small liar,
Speaker 162 um,
Speaker 81 brings it over.
Speaker 16 Elody stands near the door, but seeing this, takes a seat and smiles.
Speaker 97 I'm trying to pass off like a platter of cranberry rolls to Elody.
Speaker 58 Ellie goes, oh, I couldn't.
Speaker 116 I insist.
Speaker 116 I insist.
Speaker 23 She looks and sees stacks of cranberry rolls and goes, I'll bring them.
Speaker 25 Thank you.
Speaker 56
I'll take them. Thank you.
I'll throw these out.
Speaker 117 I look around at the last few people in the room. And taking in you as I say this,
Speaker 117 I find it pretty appropriate that my brother's last day is as full of drama as it was.
Speaker 117 In death, even as in life,
Speaker 117 I think tensions ran hot
Speaker 42 in our home today,
Speaker 117 and there are many things I could say,
Speaker 117 but instead I'll let my daughter and I
Speaker 117 speak in a way that's best for Theazi.
Speaker 42 And I grab my own lyre from off of a mantelpiece here.
Speaker 26 Hero,
Speaker 127 play broken wing.
Speaker 100 And Hero starts to play quietly on a lyre, a song
Speaker 117 that is familiar to anyone who was around for the Falconers Rebellion.
Speaker 117 It was played in taverns and halls and military tents early in that conflict when people were hopeful for the change that was being sought after in the Falconers Rebellion. And as Hero,
Speaker 117 my youngest, begins to play the main melody of that song, Hal
Speaker 117 harmonizes
Speaker 117 and plays around her on his.
Speaker 42 I taught her how to play.
Speaker 50 We've played for many years
Speaker 16 together.
Speaker 157 As the song lilts,
Speaker 104 you see Loza Blade still here
Speaker 17 waiting for Teor's return, who fought and was The Aussie's commander in the Falconers Rebellion.
Speaker 16 A stand
Speaker 111 taken in this world
Speaker 80 by
Speaker 16 the brave and just
Speaker 31 when they realized that
Speaker 105 a world
Speaker 16 that had risen up against the tyranny of the gods
Speaker 111 had, in the span of a few short generations,
Speaker 16 replaced that tyranny with ones of their own devising.
Speaker 112 And
Speaker 144 Loza,
Speaker 83 a woman who does not do this lightly, does not actually shed a tear, but you see her eyes water as she looks at Theazi.
Speaker 24 Another name added to a long list of people that she's had to say goodbye to.
Speaker 16 And here in this place with family surrounding, the song
Speaker 24 picks up.
Speaker 17 She hums along to it.
Speaker 16 Its meaning has changed over the years from what it meant at the beginning to what it meant at the end to what it means now.
Speaker 122 I think his house supports his daughter's playing
Speaker 117 through his own plucking of the lyre strings.
Speaker 117 He uses thaumaturgy to dim every light in the house down low and lower to nothing except for one that rests close to Theazi and to Loza so that that light is shared between the two of them as the world falls away in the heart of that song.
Speaker 16 As the song plays, I'd actually love for there to be some other people who get to hear you play this song because I think it will mean a lot to them.
Speaker 89 I'd love to have our friends come join us who are returning from the Tanners.
Speaker 25 Which means
Speaker 42 they're entering a very darkened home with only the body of Fiazzi lit in the center of it.
Speaker 42 I should have pulled the bottom
Speaker 42 next time.
Speaker 76 Everything I'm doing is so loud.
Speaker 64 Full table.
Speaker 78 Full table.
Speaker 30 Full table.
Speaker 35 Walking back from the Tanners.
Speaker 27 All of you have just met
Speaker 89 Cadogan Vale again after many years
Speaker 32 being apart from each other.
Speaker 25 You
Speaker 131 reviewed the attack on Theazi and Thimble's hiding place.
Speaker 106 Found crow feathers worn as garment left
Speaker 16 bodies removed
Speaker 80 a glass
Speaker 141 essentially holder container for an artifact shattered the stone of night song gone thimble
Speaker 25 you have with you
Speaker 15 a letter about you know slightly larger than your body um
Speaker 24 with you with the name Bolaire on it.
Speaker 146 As you return to the rookery thimble you've been to Hal's home many times, but you
Speaker 69 will be
Speaker 84 the last guest to arrive at Theazi's funeral.
Speaker 32 As all of you
Speaker 32 move
Speaker 147 up, you begin to hear
Speaker 105 an Azune, Teor, Thimble, and Cadogan.
Speaker 16 You hear two lyres playing
Speaker 16 Octus I'd give me an insight to check if you'd be so kind
Speaker 66 octased
Speaker 112 you are unable
Speaker 24 to read the cause
Speaker 83 of the shift that happens now
Speaker 17 as all of your companions, all of whom fought in the Falconers Rebellion, hear this song and know what it means as they approach
Speaker 26 Hal's home at the top of the rookery.
Speaker 28 Moving in to the home, all of you see a
Speaker 110 shift.
Speaker 18 light and you see Loza
Speaker 13 and Theazzi laid out on the table,
Speaker 81 dimly lit in shadow.
Speaker 112 Hal and
Speaker 16 Hero are playing on their lyres, and you see Loza near Theazi's body.
Speaker 31 But as you enter,
Speaker 143 you can see surrounded candles and light and treasures and beloved artifacts all around.
Speaker 16 Thimble, you see Theazi for the first time.
Speaker 16 No,
Speaker 16 no,
Speaker 16 and I'll fly over and
Speaker 95 land on his chest,
Speaker 95 you stupid fuck.
Speaker 95 I'm so sorry.
Speaker 57 I'm so sorry
Speaker 161 that's like
Speaker 125 I ruined it.
Speaker 125 I'll walk up his chest and
Speaker 79 place my hand on his chin.
Speaker 127 What am I gonna do without you?
Speaker 70 I'm so sorry, Hal.
Speaker 42 The song winds its way to the end, and all the light in the room slowly begins to rise to full.
Speaker 50 Wasn't sure if I'd see you today.
Speaker 50 You alright?
Speaker 125 I missed it all.
Speaker 163 And I look up and I see you.
Speaker 70 I fly up in the air and my light starts to glow.
Speaker 34 Was this you?
Speaker 69 Did you do this?
Speaker 70 And I'll fly over. I'll get right in your face.
Speaker 69 Did you bring those people?
Speaker 69 No.
Speaker 69 What? People?
Speaker 69 I don't know what you're talking about.
Speaker 161 I did have nothing to do with this.
Speaker 69 You came for that. You came for your stupid stone.
Speaker 151 I did.
Speaker 50 And I will get it.
Speaker 50 You took it from me.
Speaker 161
It doesn't belong to you. It doesn't belong to him.
It belongs to me.
Speaker 70 I am very happy now. It's gone.
Speaker 92 What do you mean it's gone?
Speaker 70 And I'll fly back over.
Speaker 77 And I'll stand up that.
Speaker 77 There was, um,
Speaker 25 some people broke in and
Speaker 118 ransacked the place.
Speaker 141 Are you okay?
Speaker 161 Before we got there, I'm gonna inside check.
Speaker 32 Yeah, go for it. Make sure they're not lying.
Speaker 161 Uh, 17.
Speaker 161 Um,
Speaker 35 five people walking into a room is a lot of people to get a story straight with.
Speaker 147 I think you would take the words as true.
Speaker 117 I want to inside check her as she's inside-checking if she had anything to do with Yase's death. Go for it.
Speaker 117 I dare you to read that dice.
Speaker 26 Yeah.
Speaker 117 I couldn't tell. I can't.
Speaker 32 Sorry, I made fun of you for your dice all these years.
Speaker 13 No, you can't read.
Speaker 25 Vicious little circuit
Speaker 57 It's just okay.
Speaker 77 I have more than I can't read.
Speaker 64 Give it time.
Speaker 25 Just 1400 years.
Speaker 62 It's hard to say, but I think in this moment,
Speaker 143 it occurs to you,
Speaker 141 Tysha.
Speaker 106 As that song
Speaker 141 sort of rose up,
Speaker 54 that nightingale song you still hear, and you know it's only in your mind that you can hear it.
Speaker 13 As
Speaker 16 you speak in this moment to each other, I think
Speaker 112 the
Speaker 83 song has diminished, but its last sort of echoes, the lights come up.
Speaker 83 You see, for Teor and Azune and Katigan, who have allowed this moment to sort of play out, I think maybe you guys stand over closer to Loza, who looks at all of you.
Speaker 82 Loza doesn't sit, literally, doesn't meet you.
Speaker 85 She gives you like one moment of eye contact, corner of a smile, and just slides this massive, knuckled hand over your shoulders and just brings you in under the crook of her arm.
Speaker 16 And at the end of the song, just goes,
Speaker 54 I can still hear the falcon's cry.
Speaker 86 Hal, as you look up,
Speaker 86 I think
Speaker 106 as you walk back to land again on Theazi's chest thimble,
Speaker 16 you look under his chest and you see there's a little, he's a couple different necklaces. He kind of
Speaker 16 like a lot of thieves and scoundrels, you know, collected little bits of jewelry from here and there.
Speaker 80 But you see that a silver necklace is kind of bunched up that has his old wedding ring
Speaker 107 on it that he was wearing around his neck.
Speaker 142 And I think there's a moment where
Speaker 148 Hal, you're standing nearby and you just remember
Speaker 120 being in a tiny little tower room of Castle Royce.
Speaker 148 two young guys, orcish commoners from Dolmakyar in this noble's wedding, and
Speaker 108 your brother dressed in
Speaker 24 gifted finery looking at you and being like, nervous.
Speaker 16 I don't know why I'm so nervous.
Speaker 16 I keep,
Speaker 81 none of this fits.
Speaker 41 I keep getting a noble's coat on loan from these my fiancé's family.
Speaker 147 And a knock at the door
Speaker 16 and her hand over her face, the lady Aranessa going, I'm not looking, I'm not looking.
Speaker 14 Your brother looking saying, I can't see you.
Speaker 13 I can still see you right now if you cover your eyes.
Speaker 60 And she's like, I don't know how it works.
Speaker 99 I've never been married before.
Speaker 25 Holding
Speaker 17 this gorgeous
Speaker 130 flower that looks like it's either foxglove or prickle poppy.
Speaker 24 It's a gorgeous flower. And she says,
Speaker 13 in our tradition, I'm supposed to, it's for you.
Speaker 88 It's a wedding gift.
Speaker 38 You should have it before the ceremony.
Speaker 112 And
Speaker 120 the flower opens.
Speaker 112 and with that ring on a little table beside
Speaker 16 thimble for the very first time in the mortal world
Speaker 145 looking much different than she does today appeared in that moment as theazi looks down at you and goes
Speaker 55 hi
Speaker 55 oh hi
Speaker 16 sorry the fairy's a gift?
Speaker 164 I don't I don't agree with any of this.
Speaker 163 I don't know, I think it's kind of weird myself, but...
Speaker 26 It's...
Speaker 164 I don't... Do you want to be a gift? You don't have to be a gift if you don't want to be a gift.
Speaker 42 Just shut up and say thank you.
Speaker 13 Thank you. Thank you to you, frankly.
Speaker 41 I don't know.
Speaker 58 You see the...
Speaker 13 Ernesta says, of course, it's not like that. It's just, it's, it's, fits a...
Speaker 34 She's free.
Speaker 62 If you wish, then you, marrying into the family, have the protection of the Fae.
Speaker 23 And as our family has enjoyed, Thimble is a warrior fairy from the gardens.
Speaker 70 I can kill a bunch of mice in your house. Also, I'm really good at braiding hair.
Speaker 44 See Theazzi goes, is that related?
Speaker 119 Are those skills from one and the same?
Speaker 68 No, you know what?
Speaker 81 Now, here's what we really need to do. We need to catch a bunch of mice, braid their hair, keep everybody here on their toes.
Speaker 151 We can do that. We can do anything.
Speaker 70
And look up for Lady Arnessa. I think I'm going to really like it here.
I'm going to really like him.
Speaker 70 Fly over and land on his shoulder.
Speaker 20 He lands at your shoulder and says, are they giving you a little outfit too?
Speaker 163 I don't like this stupid dress.
Speaker 70 So if we can get something different, I'd be thrilled.
Speaker 35 We'll go to a dollhouse upstairs and see what they got.
Speaker 117 Over my shoulder, Joe Iron Asa, I should say, I think you just bought yourself a lot of trouble.
Speaker 24 Oh, God, everything about this is ill-advised.
Speaker 142 And as you hear in this memory, everything about this is ill-advised.
Speaker 16 You're just looking at the stubble on his face, the ring on the necklace.
Speaker 130 You remember that first little
Speaker 24 he would not, the whole wedding was delayed because he wanted to get you something from the dollhouse that you would enjoy wearing before you had to go down the aisle.
Speaker 24 Touch the ring.
Speaker 163 We have to make this right.
Speaker 163 Nothing's ever gonna be right again. I don't know how to do it.
Speaker 25 I'm gonna.
Speaker 165 Octus walks up next to the body, next to come on.
Speaker 141 Well, we'll figure it out. We can
Speaker 127 we can figure it out.
Speaker 127 Figure out what went wrong.
Speaker 127 You grew up.
Speaker 165 I guess so did you, although you're not any bigger.
Speaker 115 I think I take that opportunity to like make eye contact with Azene and Teor
Speaker 115 and just not wordlessly but as quietly as possible to hold space for this moment.
Speaker 148 Do you know what happened? We had a plan.
Speaker 49 I looked at Teor
Speaker 120 and
Speaker 52 I look back towards you, Tysha, and I just give you a nod.
Speaker 143 And it was
Speaker 148 the Hal's music playing with his daughter, although it stopped, it's still sort of like, I can still feel it in my ears.
Speaker 148 And I look over to Hal
Speaker 127 and
Speaker 132 And suddenly I
Speaker 28 remember myself in a way
Speaker 148 in Hal's home and with that music lingering and this very unexpected reunion of people that I met so many years ago
Speaker 52 part of this rebellion this fire that Theazi had lit and
Speaker 25 then I remember
Speaker 144 something about that look in
Speaker 24 Natasha's face
Speaker 144 all the different ways that this could have gone wrong.
Speaker 32 And I walked towards Theazi.
Speaker 148 You're still on him?
Speaker 148 Thimble, I'm so sorry, but I need to check him.
Speaker 148 I need to see if the thing that pinged for me is still on him so I can compare it to the one that we found with you.
Speaker 163 I'll fly up in the air and hover about a foot above his body.
Speaker 106 And I,
Speaker 148 as carefully as I can, I just kind of turn him... over because my understanding is that it pinged in his back pocket so I search
Speaker 148 for that which...
Speaker 73 that thing that pinged.
Speaker 70 I'll light up and try to go down to where Azune is looking and see if I can light up any area of it.
Speaker 52 I'll start to search him.
Speaker 148 And with you nearby, I do turn to you and I say, I'm sorry, Thimble.
Speaker 24 I lied to you earlier and I feel really badly about it.
Speaker 148 The moments that I had with Yahazi, where they went by so fast there wasn't much
Speaker 24 time for him to say anything to me about anybody and I just saw how hurt you were when you realized what had happened, and I just couldn't bear it, so I just wanted you to feel a little bit better.
Speaker 24 It's okay,
Speaker 97 and I'll go back to searching.
Speaker 117 I was struck by how thick the air in this room is with history,
Speaker 117 and how
Speaker 117 his brother was something different to every person in this room.
Speaker 128 I can even tell
Speaker 117 those those I've never met before today
Speaker 117 have a story with my brother.
Speaker 117 And that story has come to a close.
Speaker 110 You
Speaker 24 reach into that
Speaker 107 the back area of his coat.
Speaker 129 Go ahead and give me an investigation check.
Speaker 16 Uh that is a 19.
Speaker 162 Um
Speaker 110 small inseam
Speaker 130 pocket.
Speaker 16 You know that there would be that it you can see in and see where the stitching would have been cut.
Speaker 17 That one of the sort of hems of the coat you could slip and drop something in to this hidden pocket in the back of the coat.
Speaker 16 You reach in on a 19
Speaker 80 and pull out
Speaker 106 what looks like a small
Speaker 16 sort of cheap piece of ceramic. It has something sort of scrawled on it, but it doesn't look
Speaker 25 it's not what Thimble made.
Speaker 16 And it's still registering to you
Speaker 24 that residue of magic that was on it.
Speaker 107 Give me an Arcana check.
Speaker 109 Call it a difficulty.
Speaker 118 Standing there as well. Can I?
Speaker 112 Go ahead.
Speaker 35 Yeah, each of you can give me an Arcana rule.
Speaker 27 We'll call it difficulty of
Speaker 148 honestly 13.
Speaker 49 Can I, since this is intentional, can I guidance myself on this check?
Speaker 80 Thanks.
Speaker 151 27.
Speaker 52 27.
Speaker 25 I have one thing.
Speaker 148 It is now. It is now.
Speaker 25 It is for me a total of 13.
Speaker 16 13.
Speaker 23 You look at it, this just doesn't look carefully made.
Speaker 52 I think I'm lost in how this was my part of the assignment, and I believed this to be the right thing, and now I'm faced with this fake.
Speaker 107 You're looking at it. This is an extremely well-constructed forgery.
Speaker 25 What you notice is the physical craft of this is careless.
Speaker 164 The magical craft of it is very careful, almost like someone knew there would be no safe way to actually visibly see the object.
Speaker 43 But the magical words around it, you see, it's you can feel the hum of magic off of it.
Speaker 82 And it's illusion and conjuration, which was exactly what Theazzi needed to be able to make his escape.
Speaker 16 But you, on that 27, peer at that illusion.
Speaker 16 Oh,
Speaker 130 that's a perfect cover.
Speaker 16 Because
Speaker 19 the conjuration is illusion too.
Speaker 157 Yeah.
Speaker 17 And anyone that would have been looking for illusion would have found it and they didn't have to work very hard to hide this.
Speaker 16 This is a
Speaker 104 magical aura warping that will fade come morning.
Speaker 165 Uh, Azune, you,
Speaker 165 at least for your part, didn't
Speaker 165 fuck up.
Speaker 141 It's exactly what you were looking for.
Speaker 118 It's just
Speaker 52 the illusion you were looking for is,
Speaker 141 in fact, an illusion.
Speaker 112 How perfect. I meant to fool you.
Speaker 25 Somebody betrayed us.
Speaker 148 Somebody did betray us, and I have a hunch there's only two people in our group that are unaccounted for, Sid
Speaker 30 and
Speaker 30 your brother. Casimir.
Speaker 161 They didn't show up. They didn't show up to the execution?
Speaker 118 Sid never well, obviously he didn't make it to the car that Sid was driving, so Sid never showed up for us.
Speaker 52 Casimir was a member of the Crowkeepers.
Speaker 148 This clearly was a setup by someone who knew our plan. They knew every step of what everyone's involvement was going to be.
Speaker 163 They knew where I was gonna be.
Speaker 118 There were feathers in the house.
Speaker 107 Well, Cadogan found them.
Speaker 30 Um hello. Does your
Speaker 127 need water?
Speaker 97 I just point at the giant wolf, I guess, just in here that no one said anything about.
Speaker 22 Yeah, uh, Cadogan has sort of made his way over to a chair and he's just scrounged up the last bit of meats and he's sitting there eating meat, watching this drama unfold, slowly flicking pieces to wolf or a kiss wolf on the corner yeah no he's alright yeah okay he gets his own water
Speaker 75 what what do you
Speaker 97 and i want to just look at the wolf oh okay is this just like a normal wolf
Speaker 119 what am i looking at druid to dog what is happening here he is he is dog uh yeah he's he's a wolf like a
Speaker 22 Gray wolf black fur he is adorned with armor and a cowl
Speaker 22 if you're looking for anything that would stand out on him, he has an empty quiver on his hip that's got nothing in it.
Speaker 22 But the one thing that you would notice right away is that there's like a bracer on
Speaker 127 his front paw.
Speaker 22 And where a physical paw would be, there's nothing. And there's
Speaker 67 this
Speaker 22 tangible projection of a paw. So in essence, he has like a magical prosthetic.
Speaker 64
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's really cool.
Yeah.
Speaker 97 This is stupid, so I'll do it.
Speaker 159 I'm going to burn
Speaker 115 self- I'm gonna cast speak with animals.
Speaker 81 Yeah,
Speaker 107 as you cast speak with animals here, you see a powerful give me actually a religion or a nature.
Speaker 89 You're wrong.
Speaker 25 Oh, oh, oh, oh. We're back.
Speaker 44 Natural 20. Natural 20!
Speaker 64 I'm fucking getting you to die!
Speaker 10 Thank you!
Speaker 16 As you attempt to speak with this animal,
Speaker 107 a potent magical bond between Cadogan and Wolfrick.
Speaker 89 I'll put it this way on an AT 20.
Speaker 112 If you attempt to speak with Wolfrick in this moment, it'll be the second potent magical thing you have touched this evening.
Speaker 26 God damn it.
Speaker 114 The first one went so well.
Speaker 25 I've learned nothing.
Speaker 71 It's literally just a.
Speaker 13 You good? You want?
Speaker 132 And first of all, I think Speak with Animals, you're also, I think you cast Speed with Animals on yourself, correct?
Speaker 88 So I think that, as you say, are you good?
Speaker 35 I think that Wolfrick just looks back to you
Speaker 8 and
Speaker 149 keeps the counsel of his constant companion.
Speaker 105 Not in a disrespectful way, but in a way that is like, I don't know, that you're like, Wolfrick may not be wild.
Speaker 16 in the ways that a typical animal that you would speak to would be. There is something that he is within that is potent and magical.
Speaker 97 I just want to like, yeah, sniff out the bond between the two of you.
Speaker 159 Because I spend time with Octus and I know the bond between him and Pin.
Speaker 18 This is something very different.
Speaker 159 And she'll just linger in the connection of it.
Speaker 97 And then just the last thing before she like shuts it off is just, if you need something, don't go in the kitchen. We've already done that.
Speaker 159 A demon did that earlier.
Speaker 115 Why am I telling you?
Speaker 97 I'm gonna stop and I just shut it off.
Speaker 114 You said my brother's name, Sid, was working with you.
Speaker 122 Yes.
Speaker 114 How long has he been a part of your plan to try and save The Azzi?
Speaker 127 How long?
Speaker 81 For the past two weeks.
Speaker 18 I mean, because The Azzi got arrested two weeks ago.
Speaker 141 For about two weeks, yeah.
Speaker 114 And he has been the reliable measure in this?
Speaker 52 You say that like we...
Speaker 118 That's surprising to you?
Speaker 114 It's been years since I've seen my brother, but dependable is not always a word I would use to describe him.
Speaker 25 Good, glad we brought him on board.
Speaker 114 Perhaps things have changed, but you must be as alarmed as I am to not see him here.
Speaker 127 Yes,
Speaker 148 and you haven't seen him since you've entered.
Speaker 105 It's from my here.
Speaker 114 It's been years. No.
Speaker 144 You see, Loza, who's right by your side as well, goes.
Speaker 16 Casimir
Speaker 54 was
Speaker 54 a young mercenary in the Torn banner.
Speaker 15 You know, a quiet type.
Speaker 16
I never knew Kaz that well. By the time Kaz joined up, I was already the commander.
I know that Kaz wasn't in Theazi's unit either. He was, but
Speaker 17 he worked the mess, so I think he knew everybody.
Speaker 84 Theazi struck up a friendship with him there.
Speaker 80 Looks over and goes,
Speaker 50 Sid,
Speaker 84 I know when Sid left, he headed west for Dolmakiar.
Speaker 142 And I knew...
Speaker 16 We'd had a problem with Sid in the past.
Speaker 84 I mean...
Speaker 121 There were certain things that we weren't supposed to steal.
Speaker 83 You know, you win a battle,
Speaker 16 there are certain things that you can take as seized contraband, and there are certain things that you have to leave. And
Speaker 16
Sid was... This was a long time ago.
Sid was much younger, but I found him with stuff on him that he wasn't supposed to have.
Speaker 30 Who brought him in?
Speaker 125 That.
Speaker 127 Cause I don't know anyone, so.
Speaker 30 It wasn't me.
Speaker 116 Thimble, how related were you to the planning of all of this?
Speaker 125
Super related. Okay.
I know everything about it.
Speaker 65 Uh, start at step one, an elaborate all the way out.
Speaker 130 Uh, Thimble, I think you had almost no time to put this together.
Speaker 92 I didn't have anything to do with it.
Speaker 70 I was busy.
Speaker 119 Oh, sorry, wait.
Speaker 25 This is a wild change of story.
Speaker 70 But I would have known when Sid came on board, right?
Speaker 58 Yeah.
Speaker 70 I think Thimble, the Casimir is the one that I feel the least sure about out of all of this.
Speaker 23 Sid was way closer to Theazi than Casimir was.
Speaker 35 The reason you had to use Casimir is that Casimir is a smuggler. So he had a wagon.
Speaker 31 He could get a wagon with a trick compartment.
Speaker 7 He could get you something like on a road out.
Speaker 35 The plan was you get the glyph to Theazi.
Speaker 88 Theazi has a way to basically MISTI step through the wall into the hidden compartment of the wagon.
Speaker 27 Casimir was not going to be able to show up with the wagon, but Sid worked as a driver.
Speaker 32 That was like his above, as like a coach wagon driver.
Speaker 8 So it was going to get the wagon into position where it would be within that short distance through the wall,
Speaker 32 drive on out of there and Octus and Tysha were gonna not be anywhere near the execution because they're highly visible Tysha's a member of the Circle of Ancients Octus is a member of the House Taconis but that would be an asset getting out of the city if you weren't near the execution anymore did anyone check on the wagon
Speaker 70 we never saw it the wagon never arrived the wagon wasn't there you're sure Sid was never there I wasn't I wasn't there that would be the uh the two of you that were at that post but what about the waiting point The wagon never showed up to you, but was Sid ever in the place that he was supposed to be?
Speaker 115 I don't know. We were supposed to stay far enough away.
Speaker 130 Hazenet, you would know that there would have been revolutionary guard within sight of that area of the wall.
Speaker 81 You can potentially check in with your fellow arcane marshals or guard members.
Speaker 81 Not it's the middle of the night right now, but tomorrow you'd be able to say, did anybody see a wagon pull up to this point?
Speaker 49 As that light bulb goes off, I'll turn to Teor.
Speaker 50 I can check in with the Arcane Marshals.
Speaker 52 I know people that had eyes where we expected Sid to be.
Speaker 27 If you have another way,
Speaker 35 another lead to follow to search for your brother tonight,
Speaker 50 I will go with you.
Speaker 148 But if you don't, then we can wait until tomorrow morning when I can speak to someone that can give us some information.
Speaker 70 And I should check in with the Thieves Guild, see if Kazimir.
Speaker 111 Right.
Speaker 18 You see, Loza says,
Speaker 16 I think that's a good idea, Thimble, but
Speaker 16 if you're going to check on the Thieves Guild, make sure that you're checking on them with some friends in tow.
Speaker 16 I don't know. The city haven't been in Dolmaki.
Speaker 83 Here she turns to you, Teor, and says, I've had a long night here.
Speaker 16 Dolmakiar Teor is
Speaker 16 the Gray Tower is asleep at the wheel.
Speaker 17 I mean, we've known for when
Speaker 81 the Revolutionary Council failed to
Speaker 24 come to the aid of the Falconers Rebellion,
Speaker 81 we knew that things had become bad, but even in the last 12 years, it's worse.
Speaker 130 The council's asleep at the wheel.
Speaker 143 The sundered houses have moved in this chamber of the Lord's Advisory.
Speaker 85 The only voice slowing, they've passed laws against using magic in the marketplace.
Speaker 16 The only voice within the sundered houses that's been any kind of voice for moderation or slowing things down has been House Royce.
Speaker 146 And
Speaker 16 I spoke to the Lady Aranessa during the funeral.
Speaker 15 She was made to wait for four hours and then wasn't allowed an audience with the House of Hale of Art.
Speaker 54 Speaking of which,
Speaker 105 I made a little inroad for you with the
Speaker 84 kid,
Speaker 16 the shiny Wickander.
Speaker 25 Oh.
Speaker 16 Wickander.
Speaker 88 He's a total
Speaker 25 fool, ninca poop.
Speaker 81 Well, he's a lamb amongst lions. I got a bead on the kid, and he...
Speaker 82 I asked if he
Speaker 83 was required any
Speaker 43 security, mercenary aid with this presence in the city and The Azzi's execution, etc.
Speaker 16 So he seemed amenable to meeting with you tomorrow if you want to go check on him and see if there's any potential lead there.
Speaker 129 Halevar is
Speaker 81 in this.
Speaker 107 I wouldn't trust, no offense, kid, the Taconists.
Speaker 64 No, I get it.
Speaker 143 But Hale of our is
Speaker 108 in it, but maybe
Speaker 16 doesn't care as much about Theazi as the Taconists do.
Speaker 127 Yeah.
Speaker 16 Whatever happens, if you're trying to run down the Crowkeepers to see what they know, just make sure you don't go along.
Speaker 163 Do we know?
Speaker 70 Do the Crowkeepers, like, wear
Speaker 57 feathers?
Speaker 38 Do they do like a whole crow fucking thing?
Speaker 25 Yeah,
Speaker 25 birds.
Speaker 57 Are they just birds?
Speaker 25 They do a bunch of bird-themed performances.
Speaker 25 Go ahead and give me.
Speaker 55 I'm about yourself crimes.
Speaker 27 Do me a favor.
Speaker 166 You can give me either insight
Speaker 34 or history.
Speaker 53 And you can do it with advantage because this is about your criminal network in the city.
Speaker 16 Alright.
Speaker 16 Let's go.
Speaker 16 Come on now.
Speaker 16 Alright.
Speaker 76 Alright.
Speaker 92 Let me do a shake with my history.
Speaker 70 17.
Speaker 70 I didn't do history. I did investigation.
Speaker 57 My history shit.
Speaker 25 Gotcha. Investigation.
Speaker 62 Great.
Speaker 59 Yeah.
Speaker 14 You've been living in this city for years.
Speaker 146 Where you would probably want to head to.
Speaker 53 I think that
Speaker 68 the Crow Keepers are all over.
Speaker 88 They are the oldest thieves guild in
Speaker 62 Dolmakyar, which means that they're, in a weird way, they're actually not the most dangerous.
Speaker 27 Like, hot-headed kill people thieves guilds don't typically have a long shelf life.
Speaker 164 You know what I mean?
Speaker 32 Like, these are guys that have a code of conduct.
Speaker 45 There's a kind of honor amongst thieves.
Speaker 53 Yeah.
Speaker 13 There's like an honor amongst thieves.
Speaker 32 There's a tavern in Caravan Hill called the Guard Tower.
Speaker 27 Depending on the time that you go, by the time you got there, it's very unlikely that anyone important or knowledgeable would be there.
Speaker 35 It would be probably almost closed down for the night.
Speaker 13 If you go tomorrow night, it'll be jumping.
Speaker 34 If you go tomorrow during the day, that's actually typically when most of the crow's keepers are there.
Speaker 108 Like they work at night.
Speaker 13 So during the day, they're at the guard tower getting a meal for free because they protect that place, you know, drinking for free, talking to each other, kind of like settling up accounts from the previous night.
Speaker 114 You mentioned the Grey Tower before. That's like the point of power in Dolma.
Speaker 27 Yes, that's the hall of the Revolutionary Park.
Speaker 32 The Revolutionary Council, I should say.
Speaker 146 That Crowkeeper Tavern in Kiravan Hill is where you'd want to go.
Speaker 127 I am.
Speaker 25 This is.
Speaker 118 I have one slight concern about us in this conversation we're having right now.
Speaker 67 Well, who are you?
Speaker 98 We're just talking about all this stuff, and I don't know who you are.
Speaker 161 I push myself off of the wall after hearing all of this and seeing all of this
Speaker 161 emotion.
Speaker 55 So,
Speaker 161 hello, I am Valus of the Sisters of Zalandry.
Speaker 42 Don't know who that is.
Speaker 44 Um,
Speaker 161 how sad for you.
Speaker 44 Um,
Speaker 161 so what I am gathering here is you tried to
Speaker 161 stop the execution of The Aussie?
Speaker 70 He gathered that much.
Speaker 161 Well, I gathered a lot more. I haven't finished just yet.
Speaker 44 Um,
Speaker 161 mainly, I'm here, I just need one thing, so I am trying to find that one thing that was stolen.
Speaker 161 And that is the stone of Night Song. song
Speaker 161 and it was taken
Speaker 161 possibly by the crow keepers
Speaker 161 possibly your brother
Speaker 114 potentially
Speaker 25 how did you find us
Speaker 161 I was trying to find Theazzi
Speaker 161 I wasn't looking for any of you
Speaker 161 I was trying to find him
Speaker 161 to take back something that was mine. How did you find our home?
Speaker 96 I was told. By who?
Speaker 112 I am not going to say.
Speaker 112 Oh, why not?
Speaker 116 We are your best chance of getting that back.
Speaker 129 It's only friends in here.
Speaker 116 Little trust.
Speaker 97 We've had our cranberry rolls. Please take some of them.
Speaker 25 I actually haven't had one yet.
Speaker 163 Who did you tell we had it?
Speaker 92 How did they know we had it?
Speaker 70 Whoever Whoever was looking for that stone ruined everything.
Speaker 70 Fuck, I don't know.
Speaker 161 Maybe they just took it.
Speaker 101 They might not have even been looking for the stone.
Speaker 70 They took everything.
Speaker 70 What do you mean?
Speaker 70 They took everything in the hideout.
Speaker 97 Where is the hideout?
Speaker 42 We're not incentivized to tell you that.
Speaker 97 That's how information works. You get some and get some.
Speaker 120 Loza looks over at you and I think makes a concern with you, Thimble, and goes,
Speaker 16 The stone.
Speaker 150 Were there any wishes for it that Theazi had before he died?
Speaker 16 In other words, and I know it's your stone, but I'm saying, Thimble,
Speaker 16 is there a reason left to you to cling on to this stone? Or is it something that the use of it has left us along with Theazi?
Speaker 16 I...
Speaker 152 I have a letter.
Speaker 30 I don't know.
Speaker 30 I understand.
Speaker 81 It seems like you don't very much like being here amongst these people that were a friend.
Speaker 17 of someone who stole from you.
Speaker 16 And it seems like this stone may not be exactly near and dear to our hearts.
Speaker 81 Things are rotten in Dolmakyar right now.
Speaker 17 There's no need for us to be at cross purposes.
Speaker 16 It sounds like we have a conversation on the horizon with these crow keepers,
Speaker 16 and you might be on that same side of that conversation as us.
Speaker 16 I agree.
Speaker 24 How are you with that sensor?
Speaker 24 Um
Speaker 24 great.
Speaker 24 All right.
Speaker 73 Um
Speaker 73 she
Speaker 13 she looks and says
Speaker 13 uh
Speaker 104 it's late.
Speaker 83 We're in Hal's home.
Speaker 16 I think it's time we said goodnight.
Speaker 114 Thank you for your
Speaker 114 I would say hospitality, but thank you for giving us a place to gather.
Speaker 120 I know my brother would be.
Speaker 120 Glad to have you here today.
Speaker 127 We will follow up in the morning.
Speaker 161 I'm gonna go over to Thimble.
Speaker 30 May I speak with you privately?
Speaker 161 It'll fly up the stairs.
Speaker 144 As that happens, I'd like to go over to Cat again.
Speaker 17 And I say to Cat again.
Speaker 17 I need a word with you, please.
Speaker 17 I
Speaker 118 sit down in one of the chairs in whatever room we're in, and from behind the chair comes Pin walks around, and I go,
Speaker 134 you keep an eye on her.
Speaker 165 And my vision goes into Pins, and he's going to follow Velis up the stairs.
Speaker 161 I'm very sorry.
Speaker 161 I can see that you cared about this person very much.
Speaker 161 I'm not here to hurt any of you.
Speaker 161 You didn't do this.
Speaker 161 No, I did not.
Speaker 161 And I try as much as I can to
Speaker 161 sort of
Speaker 161 show her that I am not
Speaker 161 the person that caused his death.
Speaker 161 I'm not the bad guy here.
Speaker 161 This was
Speaker 161 something that was taken from me.
Speaker 161 I think we're on the same side.
Speaker 161 Someone who did let me in the city
Speaker 113 is Bolaire.
Speaker 161 I look down and I see Pen.
Speaker 111 Give him a wink.
Speaker 165 In the living room, you just hear shit.
Speaker 57 Did she notice the fox following?
Speaker 78 Anyway, I.
Speaker 161 I know you were there when the stone was taken, but I also know you were a gift and you probably didn't have a choice.
Speaker 98 I have free will.
Speaker 161 You do?
Speaker 125 Yeah, what do you think?
Speaker 70 I fly up.
Speaker 163 You're an elf.
Speaker 26 Yes.
Speaker 163 You know our history.
Speaker 163 I do.
Speaker 125 Better than me, probably.
Speaker 125 Yazzi was great.
Speaker 125 He didn't keep me.
Speaker 125 He was my partner.
Speaker 125 We were equals. Can you believe that?
Speaker 125 Equals.
Speaker 163 I'm sorry I took your stone.
Speaker 163 I'm sorry, it's lost.
Speaker 163 It's fine.
Speaker 113 I will find it again.
Speaker 119 But he even needed.
Speaker 127 I don't fucking care.
Speaker 127 Pin walks up, being seen, walks up and stands like underneath where
Speaker 165 Thimble has flown up and just kind of sits.
Speaker 165 Hi, Octas.
Speaker 16 give me a perception check uh
Speaker 19 with advantage in this moment if you would for valus
Speaker 30 okay uh
Speaker 28 twenty three let's go twenty three valus you look down and see this strange little fox walks in
Speaker 16 that's stitched together
Speaker 81 it's a a little undead thing.
Speaker 44 Um,
Speaker 161 I am going to crouch down next to it.
Speaker 165 Now that when you've crouched down next to this fox, you see that its front right leg is of a red fox, but the most of it is an arctic fox.
Speaker 118 And it's got little patches.
Speaker 52 One of its ears is from a red fox.
Speaker 165 It's mixed of different pieces pieces of foxes, but its eyes are two purple buttons.
Speaker 119 And it has a purple scarf around its neck.
Speaker 118 But it's looking at you. You can tell it sees you, but its eyes aren't real.
Speaker 38 What a beautiful creature.
Speaker 16 We move from upstairs.
Speaker 27 Downstairs, Loza, you see how it's about, it's getting about time for the night to be called.
Speaker 146 You see it just with the fellow members of the former members of the Torn Banner, Katigan, Azune, and Teor, you see Loza just goes,
Speaker 24 um, for this meeting with the Halovar tomorrow, uh,
Speaker 54 would you like company on the way there, or
Speaker 104 do you prefer to do that alone?
Speaker 114 I think it would be best if you stay clear of this. See what we can scrounge up on our own.
Speaker 16 She nods.
Speaker 31 Uh, she looks over to you, Taisha, actually, sort of invites you over to stand a little closer.
Speaker 129 Goes,
Speaker 110 uh, tomorrow I am retiring
Speaker 16 i'm headed west to dolrunya is uh
Speaker 43 is there anything you want me to tell grandmama when i see her out there you're you're she was always a peach to me the whole blade family you loys always looked after us so uh
Speaker 43 tell her
Speaker 43 no
Speaker 43 It's okay. I've got this.
Speaker 38 Go be incredibly old together.
Speaker 61 You have earned it.
Speaker 16 The fact that you have compared me to the advanced age of your
Speaker 164 and we say grandma, but it's not grandma.
Speaker 119 It's not grandma.
Speaker 57 There are so many generations.
Speaker 70 But she looks great.
Speaker 25 Man,
Speaker 69 they call her the circle of ancients.
Speaker 67 They're really not kidding.
Speaker 32 She looks and says, and just leans in, looking over her shoulder at Octus, and she just sort of narrows her eyes and says,
Speaker 16 The Taconus kid.
Speaker 81 Did the ancients know you're working with?
Speaker 18 And you see, she stops herself herself before she says one of them, yeah.
Speaker 126 Uh, immediate
Speaker 126 no,
Speaker 116 Fiazi
Speaker 116 needed something
Speaker 125 that fucking box from Venatus.
Speaker 42 We were thrown together, but
Speaker 148 he's a good kid.
Speaker 16 All right, if you say so, I trust your insight. I just
Speaker 17 that little dead fox running around, seems like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Speaker 32 Yeah.
Speaker 32 Problem is
Speaker 151 every
Speaker 53 noble family, these sundered houses.
Speaker 119 Whatever's happening here will come for the rest.
Speaker 159 We're running out of friends.
Speaker 80 I know we're running out of time.
Speaker 151 Make some new ones.
Speaker 52 I'm completely wided out as just sitting in a chair. All my senses are in him.
Speaker 13 You You see, the old, the old bell dome of the theater is like, I always find it distasteful when a gentleman doesn't help when there's cleaning going on.
Speaker 40 Just
Speaker 39 kitchen back.
Speaker 25 You see,
Speaker 37 you can tell he's a noble, he's not lifting a finger.
Speaker 44 You see,
Speaker 82 Loza looks back over at Cat again specifically and goes,
Speaker 107 You've been alright?
Speaker 107 Wow.
Speaker 129 Yeah, I've been just speechy.
Speaker 120 How about you?
Speaker 129 Look a little worse for wear these days.
Speaker 97 Everyone says that to you.
Speaker 106 Maybe take the note.
Speaker 107 Now, I can't discipline her, all right?
Speaker 83 Her family built the swords that killed the god of war.
Speaker 41 You, on the other hand, I will smack at a funeral.
Speaker 33 No questions asked.
Speaker 128
No, I know. I heard it.
I just took an opening.
Speaker 27 You see,
Speaker 13 you see,
Speaker 53 uh, she just smiles and says,
Speaker 24 How's it? It's good to see you.
Speaker 148 It's good to see you, too.
Speaker 129 I'm headed west to
Speaker 84 green vines, wide orchards, my family's old farm.
Speaker 16 Would do me good to know that the banner was still looking out for each other.
Speaker 55 Um,
Speaker 16 and here she reaches and says, here, let's head head to the inn.
Speaker 120 We'll head on out.
Speaker 16 I think as you step out, Teor, she
Speaker 16 reaches into
Speaker 112 a
Speaker 17 sort of interior lining as she's walking with you and says, I'll head out before you wake tomorrow.
Speaker 84 I'll get out before first light.
Speaker 17 And hands a small scroll case to you.
Speaker 16 You've seen it amongst her effects for a long time, but she passes it to you.
Speaker 16 It's been twelve years
Speaker 16 since we had to disband as a condition of our, what do they call it,
Speaker 16 amnesty or
Speaker 16 clemency.
Speaker 149 So we disbanded.
Speaker 83 But I could never get rid of it.
Speaker 16 You see, she opens it up, and you see,
Speaker 106 tattered and threadbare,
Speaker 120 half of a banner.
Speaker 120 This.
Speaker 123 You've had this on your person this entire time.
Speaker 114 Who would you like me to make sure this gets to?
Speaker 41 I'm looking at him.
Speaker 22 Cadigan laughs and just claps Ter on the back and makes his way toward The Azi's coffin while they finish their conversation.
Speaker 15 I don't know that it'll ever fly again.
Speaker 120 But I know
Speaker 145 of everyone who would know if the time ever came.
Speaker 129 There are things
Speaker 150 gifts of yours, Teor, that you have
Speaker 16 that I know I can't explain, and I
Speaker 16 bet you can't either.
Speaker 25 Just hold on to it. I just
Speaker 24 and you see, she looks over at all the treasures around Theazi's body.
Speaker 16 Some things have to go under the shadow,
Speaker 16 and some things are so important that even in darkness they can't be thrown away.
Speaker 114 Thank you
Speaker 114 for everything.
Speaker 42 I hope the vines of the West
Speaker 114 repel you with their calm and their peace.
Speaker 15 I think I'm gonna go fucking crazy,
Speaker 80 but my knees hurt, so what can you do?
Speaker 46 And
Speaker 126 I think
Speaker 18 as you depart,
Speaker 16 I think we'll say goodbye to our funeral here and move to the next day if that's okay.
Speaker 123 As Valis leaves,
Speaker 128 you know, I know it's cold comfort
Speaker 117 in light of you looking for your special rock, but please take some of these pastries.
Speaker 118 I really have way too many,
Speaker 117 and we're not going to eat them all.
Speaker 161 I've learned for all of the
Speaker 161 years that I've been alive that sugar is very bad for you.
Speaker 26 What?
Speaker 25 Aren't you immortal?
Speaker 123 I insist.
Speaker 151 Sort of.
Speaker 125 I'll sit down. Where are you going?
Speaker 30 I.
Speaker 115 Do you need a place to stay?
Speaker 161 I don't have to stay here.
Speaker 97 I've got you, guys.
Speaker 116
Take the pastries. I got you.
And I'm not offering.
Speaker 117 If you bring that level of threat into my house near my family again, I promise you you will live to regret it.
Speaker 25 Good night.
Speaker 25 Let's shake on it.
Speaker 114 I put a whole tray of pastries in the porch.
Speaker 133 I start as I walk away.
Speaker 161 I just leave the pastries on the porch and I
Speaker 161 sit at the end of the house
Speaker 161 and I stay there outside for the night.
Speaker 17 Not needing rest, you merge in the shadows
Speaker 17 like gargoyle observing the home.
Speaker 17 You see, I think as she steps out, Olga, your partner, looks over at you, Hal, and goes,
Speaker 16 If I couldn't eat sugar, I wouldn't want to live another day, let alone centuries.
Speaker 50 And that is what is wrong with religion.
Speaker 25 You see,
Speaker 30 no sugar glade.
Speaker 56 We move from this place,
Speaker 14 and I'll ask everybody except Travis to please depart from the table.
Speaker 67 Please bring Sam and Whitney to the table.
Speaker 27 If you feel a vibe,
Speaker 152 go with it.
Speaker 115 See what happens.
Speaker 64 Feel a tickle, that's me.
Speaker 25 It's pin.
Speaker 64 Oh, the taking and bringing stuff. I know, I know, I know, I know, I know.
Speaker 42 Bust your own tables, folks.
Speaker 73 I can't, I can't fit.
Speaker 70 This is gonna make me call my dice collection something.
Speaker 39 In the high western ward of the city of Dolmachar, in the neighborhood of Mirzash, the Via Aurora,
Speaker 14 the home of the candescent creed, the house of Halavar,
Speaker 75 is built here in this gorgeous place.
Speaker 60 Sam,
Speaker 37 what, let me ask you if you have any thoughts about how your family would appoint their beautiful home here in the gray city of Dolmancyar.
Speaker 6 Had not thought of that, but let's just say that everything is made of
Speaker 65 white stone or
Speaker 65 off-white stone.
Speaker 65 Built tall with maybe a central tower or
Speaker 65 something that has sort of glass, sort of prismatic
Speaker 65 top to it, and on top of it is the symbol of the Candescent Creed, which is sort of like a C-shape with rays of the sun coming out of it.
Speaker 65 Some security around
Speaker 41 the perimeter of
Speaker 100 the Via Aurora, but not like heavily super-armed guards.
Speaker 6 They are serene looking with
Speaker 123 teal robes and,
Speaker 8 you know,
Speaker 5 they don't want to be scary.
Speaker 27 Gorgeous.
Speaker 35 Walking through a palatial set of windows, one of those, one of those exterior, almost like Versailles hallways where it's just enormous window, window, window, the very tops of which have in gold stained glass the candescent symbol and then panes of sheer glass.
Speaker 53 You can see that the gray, the normal sort of like gray of Dolmakyar is even slightly alchemically boosted by that.
Speaker 35 gold stained glass, almost like solar lamps, so that within this there's a little more sunlight coming in than there would otherwise be in Dolmakyar.
Speaker 32 Walking down the hallway to answer an appointment at the front gate is the aspirant Tyranny.
Speaker 32 Tyranny, as you tread the hall by herself.
Speaker 66 Oh, great.
Speaker 27 As you tread to go,
Speaker 35 how is Tyranny feeling as she approaches the front gate?
Speaker 133 I feel good. I mean, I think that last night it didn't go great, but at least Wick got his scimitar and I think everybody kind of understood that his intentions were
Speaker 133 good.
Speaker 133 I'm glad I got him out of there before he got his ass kicked by Lady Aronessa. So I feel all right.
Speaker 133 It's really hot in these halls.
Speaker 27 As you are walking along with sort of the solar heat coming from the stained glass, you hear a voice to the side walking out of another hallway.
Speaker 18 It joins you.
Speaker 13 Your towering sister, Enmity, who is flanked by your other sister, who's a little bit shorter than you, but just stunning.
Speaker 121 Ruby red lips, small pronged, silvery horns, this sort of whipping tail behind her.
Speaker 29 This is your sister Cruelty.
Speaker 45 Cruelty turns to you and goes,
Speaker 99 Tyranny, how'd it go last night?
Speaker 50 I heard you had to deliver a sword.
Speaker 133 Hi, sister.
Speaker 25 Hi.
Speaker 96 Ever bright, ever light?
Speaker 25 Sure.
Speaker 133 It went okay.
Speaker 72 Yeah,
Speaker 163 we gave the sword.
Speaker 120 Oh, good.
Speaker 28 I'm glad you you gave it.
Speaker 61 It's so good for the Lord Wikander to show up at the funeral of someone we just executed.
Speaker 35 I'm sure it sends a clear message about where our values are.
Speaker 13 Agony, where are you?
Speaker 27 And you see that your last sort of a small sister who is very wave, doesn't look that big.
Speaker 41 And you see that for being a demon has spectacles on and her white robes are much more monkish, sort of like hide her figure.
Speaker 13 She goes, coming! She's got like bright blue skin.
Speaker 32 It goes, ga!
Speaker 35 And just hits the deck goes
Speaker 67 hi agony hi how are you doing you okay yeah i'm okay oh she gets up
Speaker 45 i think i chipped a tooth uh and medi turns and says
Speaker 129 the lord wakander
Speaker 25 did he acquit himself honorably at the funeral
Speaker 26 Did he aspire to the heights of the creed?
Speaker 133 I mean, he sure told everybody to call him by his big boy name.
Speaker 133 He said he's sorry. I think that he feels really bad, to be honest.
Speaker 73 And he
Speaker 23 is still as devout as ever. He
Speaker 23 believes in light.
Speaker 133 Yeah, he believes.
Speaker 86 How fun.
Speaker 61 You think that's fun, don't you?
Speaker 18 I mean, he's supposed to be the face of the house.
Speaker 16 So, I mean, it's sort of lovely in a way that he holds true to those tenets of the whispered light.
Speaker 133 Yeah, I think that it is.
Speaker 133 I think it's really fun that he believes in something. I think that he.
Speaker 133 Well, I know he's the only one, so
Speaker 133 I don't want to touch it.
Speaker 127 Are you nervous about
Speaker 125 no?
Speaker 16 You see, Emily says,
Speaker 55 you feel as though your very essence shudders at the approach of some catastrophe.
Speaker 133 Listen, man, I just think that
Speaker 97 we're here to help
Speaker 133 and
Speaker 133 think that
Speaker 96 your guys are like a little bit more
Speaker 133 cut out for this kind of thing
Speaker 119 than Wick is
Speaker 133 and
Speaker 133 I don't know Help who
Speaker 16 tyranny
Speaker 16 Who do you imagine I'm here to help
Speaker 16 you see cruelty says yeah the mortal world is so much more confusing than the pit
Speaker 31 it's just important to
Speaker 144 keep perspective, don't you think?
Speaker 144 Yeah,
Speaker 125 I have perspective. I'm
Speaker 133 here to help the family and get them to where they are supposed to be.
Speaker 23 You see, Cruelty says, great.
Speaker 16 Glad we're on the same page.
Speaker 45 And Middy says,
Speaker 15 We'll leave you to your work.
Speaker 123 We have other more pressing matters.
Speaker 29 Tyranny.
Speaker 41 See that you remember.
Speaker 25 And you see that she lowers a clawed finger and puts it right on your clavicle here and digs in enough to draw blood that turns to smoke.
Speaker 26 Remember where you are from.
Speaker 129 Her eyes glow red. And what you are.
Speaker 133
Yeah, and by the way, I made a friend last night. As if you care.
Her name's Tysha. She's really cool.
She's in love, so.
Speaker 61 You see that Agony turns around and says, you made a friend?
Speaker 127 Yeah, I made a friend.
Speaker 44 Oh, good.
Speaker 27 We'll be able to use her to our ends, right?
Speaker 20 Oh, sorry. And you see, Emmy says, Agony, now with me, whips around and begins to leave as cruelty sort of waves at you, and Agony trips on her robe
Speaker 27 and clips against a sort of shelf.
Speaker 13 Good ah, and just gets enmity, swoops down with a massive clawed hand and just starts to drag Agony down the hallway.
Speaker 142 Proceeding down the hallway, you
Speaker 130 arrive at the front door.
Speaker 131 The door opens, revealing Teor Pride Sire,
Speaker 129 with guards on either side, Aspirance Tyranny, presenting
Speaker 140 Teor Pride Sire,
Speaker 16 mercenary errant and, I believe, a compatriot of Loza Blade, a warrior of some renown here in the city of Dormakyar, for audience with his lordship, the bright Wicander.
Speaker 114 Sup, it's good to see you again.
Speaker 133 Yeah, um, thanks for coming to the house of the CC.
Speaker 133 May the beam reach you.
Speaker 114 The CC,
Speaker 133 oh, yeah, the Candy Creed.
Speaker 114 The Candy Creed.
Speaker 114 Got it. Ah, the Candescent Creed.
Speaker 114 How was the rest of your evening after your departure? I take it that the light priest is well?
Speaker 133 He is decompressing,
Speaker 133 ever strong.
Speaker 133 He had a really,
Speaker 133 you know, everyone had sort of a tense day. And,
Speaker 133 you know, he went to his quarters.
Speaker 133 I think that, all in all, pretty good. I think, yeah.
Speaker 114 He looked most distraught as he left. I was only wondering if perhaps
Speaker 114 a chance for conversation might alleviate any concerns he could possibly be holding on to and maybe shed some light on
Speaker 114 how such horrible tragedies could be avoided in the future.
Speaker 133
I think he'd love that. I think he has a lot to say.
Um,
Speaker 133 should I go get him?
Speaker 114 If you would be so kind, then my time is yours.
Speaker 133 Okay, um,
Speaker 44 well, I trot down clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp, clomp.
Speaker 88 Uh, we see the Lord Wickander's, I suppose, like offices or study.
Speaker 32 What does Wickander's work area look like?
Speaker 65 Sure, yes, I guess he probably has living quarters and study sort of connected in sort of a suite.
Speaker 65 From behind the closed doors, you hear a fumbling and a clanging.
Speaker 65 And he'll throw open the door, and you, Tyranny, notice that
Speaker 42 his mantle is sort of on backwards.
Speaker 64 Oh, hello, hello.
Speaker 100 Behind him, you can see his offices.
Speaker 100 There's a large desk.
Speaker 65 There's some paintings of different family members, some busts,
Speaker 65 scripture, lots of scripture everywhere, scrolls, some handwritten, some seems
Speaker 127 more
Speaker 42 bound.
Speaker 65 And of course behind him, a large,
Speaker 65
like, not stained glass, but prismatic glass window looking out into a courtyard beyond. And he looks a little bit disheveled.
And,
Speaker 30 oh,
Speaker 42 hello, may the beam reach you.
Speaker 98 How, uh, what's, um, was I, what time is it?
Speaker 64 Are you okay?
Speaker 65 Yes, I was just,
Speaker 128 I had a rough night last night, and I was, um,
Speaker 4 I barely slept.
Speaker 65 I, it was just such a,
Speaker 42 I've never had so many people angry at me before, you know.
Speaker 133 Yeah, yeah, you almost got your ass kicked, too. It's a good thing I puked.
Speaker 38 Yes,
Speaker 4 it was fortuitous that you got us out of there, but I must, I must say, Tyranny,
Speaker 65 at a ceremony, a function like that, an aspirant is meant to protect, observe, and obey.
Speaker 42 Always remember, P-O-O.
Speaker 122 P-O-O. Yes.
Speaker 30 All right.
Speaker 133 Well, thank you for that wisdom, your radiance.
Speaker 133 It's really good to see that you are still on the ball in terms of teaching me a lesson. And I have come to bring you a message.
Speaker 133 This really big guy that wants to see you. He's very furry, and he looks like he's got really big, strong hands.
Speaker 71 Oh, dear.
Speaker 42 Wait, is this the gentleman from last night?
Speaker 97 Yeah, Teor?
Speaker 25 Teor.
Speaker 133 Before. Hey, listen, he wants to hear you out, and so I assume that you're going to say something.
Speaker 5 He's a big, strong fighter man, right?
Speaker 125 Yeah. What do I do with that?
Speaker 133 I think that you okay.
Speaker 133 I adjust his ropes and I say, okay, just take a breath and know that this is a good thing, right? Because you went in basically to the lion's den and everyone was really, really mad at you. And
Speaker 133 you
Speaker 133 managed to not get yourself or me killed, which I appreciate. And
Speaker 133 sort of just,
Speaker 133 you know,
Speaker 133 communicate that this was not to your intention. And so I think that having an audience right now is a good thing.
Speaker 73 So yes, he's probably come to
Speaker 65 make allyship with us, knowing the strength and the reputation of the Hale of Oz. He wants my assistance in something or wants to offer his blade to us.
Speaker 42 And I will gladly accept it.
Speaker 65 I'll make him ask a few times.
Speaker 72 No, no, no, no.
Speaker 98 But yes, maybe we can find him something to do.
Speaker 100 I will say this: just always trying to be a guide to you.
Speaker 65 Into the lion's den might be offensive to his kind. So maybe just don't.
Speaker 5 I don't know.
Speaker 42 I don't know how their people work.
Speaker 69 You're so correct for that.
Speaker 133 And I just wanted to say, before we go,
Speaker 133 the light is all illumination, sparks, it's faith.
Speaker 137 I'm glad that you're studying.
Speaker 133 There's something in here about.
Speaker 14 You both hear an enormous crash outside.
Speaker 127 Oh. oh, oh, dear.
Speaker 5 We run out to find out what it is.
Speaker 18 Teor, outside, this place is kind of wild because it's palatial, but you see, there's a huge
Speaker 32 lowering pathway, gravel strewn.
Speaker 35 Everything in here is like white rock, imported stone, gravel.
Speaker 13 It's like, you know,
Speaker 53 looking out, you see a wagon coming up this from a like lower area underneath the palace.
Speaker 121 There's sort of a walled drive that goes down, and a large wagon that you see has the symbol not of the Candescent Creed, but an older symbol of the House Halevar that shares some of the same iconography.
Speaker 27 It's a little bit hard to tell where the faith begins and the noble house ends.
Speaker 114 But I would recognize some of House Halevar and not as much, the Candescent Creed.
Speaker 143 Yes.
Speaker 121 Comes out, and you see, sort of struggling up the driveway.
Speaker 13 You see, it's heavy, it's low down on the wheels.
Speaker 27 Someone forgot to fasten the back.
Speaker 62 A crate slides out coming up the ramp from down below, lands on someone's foot, like one of the sort of workers.
Speaker 7 And as it does, you see a bone break and something shatters.
Speaker 53 And this glowing white liquid seeps out through the wooden box and badly burns their leg.
Speaker 89 They're on the ground rolling and kind of like screaming.
Speaker 114 I will run over to him immediately.
Speaker 2 Steady yourself.
Speaker 114 Can I lift this crate up?
Speaker 36 Yes.
Speaker 20 Go ahead and give me an athletics. It's just a DC.
Speaker 35 We'll call it a DC five, honestly. Just give this crate off.
Speaker 114 Uh, that is, uh, yes, that is a gigantic natural 20.
Speaker 25 Wow, oh, natural 20,
Speaker 25 I'll say on the natural 20, if you also want to, yes, you toss this thing off of him.
Speaker 114 Uh, and I'll say in the same action, if you want to, also, you can, if you have any other abilities you want, you see, he's like, yes, yeah, I would do, I would just, I would lift and also just do a very like a layon hands just to try and do a little heal to ease some of his pain.
Speaker 102 Wick.
Speaker 128 We run out.
Speaker 13 As you exit
Speaker 67 the
Speaker 27 door, you step out into the courtyard and see Teor Pride Sire
Speaker 121 on a Nat 20 single-handedly lift this crate over his head and reach down.
Speaker 28 A lion-headed emblem at his side glows radiant with light as you see light extend from his paw
Speaker 32 and you watch this man heal an injured guard here in the courtyard
Speaker 126 i think on that nat 20
Speaker 14 i'm gonna nat 20 is crazy on a nat 20
Speaker 35 the cloudy city of dolmakyar
Speaker 106 momentarily there's a breakthrough and the wagon and surrounding area and teor in particular are bathed in sunlight in this moment as you exit the courtyard.
Speaker 65 I will I was rushing out to see what the commotion was but upon seeing this I the breath is taken out of me and I momentarily stumble and have to
Speaker 65 just lean on tyranny for a moment because I'm so taken by the almost painterly beauty of the moment and clearly
Speaker 128 this man has been touched.
Speaker 114 I'll also also stand and rise, and as I turn.
Speaker 64 Oh, shit.
Speaker 63 His mane kind of hits in the wind, and the gold of my eyes sort of fades post-NAT 20.
Speaker 76 Whoa!
Speaker 2 So cool. That was very cool, yes.
Speaker 5 What seems to be going on out here?
Speaker 114 Just a moment.
Speaker 130 And I'll help up the man.
Speaker 16 Looks up and says, Oh, thank you kindly, sir.
Speaker 14 Are you are you a priest of the light?
Speaker 114 A friend of the light.
Speaker 99 Pleasure, sir. Thank you.
Speaker 99 That's marvelous.
Speaker 81 I was worried I'd lose my leg.
Speaker 63 They have you transporting horribly hazardous.
Speaker 114 What was this that you were moving?
Speaker 65
That's nothing. No concern of yours.
It's just
Speaker 114 church business. Church business.
Speaker 67 He says, sorry, the gentleman, Lord Wakander, healed my leg.
Speaker 13 So I won't have to miss a a shift to work.
Speaker 13 Everything will be all right.
Speaker 67 You won't have to.
Speaker 65 Worry not. Just take this where it's going.
Speaker 42 To my father or.
Speaker 14 The Lord Goddard has already said everything's well to do.
Speaker 35 We're to ship this out to Azir first thing tomorrow.
Speaker 41 We're moving it down to Caravan Hill right now.
Speaker 42 Make it so.
Speaker 23 Have a bright, have a bright.
Speaker 14 May the beam reach you, my lord. Thank you so much.
Speaker 67 I'm sorry for being injured.
Speaker 34 You see, he.
Speaker 42 Accepted.
Speaker 114 It is
Speaker 114 a truly wonderful thing to have people that are so so devoted to you in their service. You must be an incredible man to work for.
Speaker 127 Well,
Speaker 125 the best.
Speaker 65 Please, Tyranny,
Speaker 65 I must remain humble.
Speaker 42 Some have called me a great man to work for, sure.
Speaker 65 But I don't hear that, nor do I acknowledge it.
Speaker 100 It's just who I am and who we all aspire to be.
Speaker 114
It is wonderful to see you again. Please allow me to reintroduce myself.
My name is Teor, Pride Sire.
Speaker 114 and i when i grasp his hand it is iron tight and does not let go mine is is like a a a raw cut of veal
Speaker 114 just sort of clammy and soft i see one of his pinkies just flirting with the idea of dislocation but just kind of keeping it there
Speaker 114 i was so moved by your concern last night and the raw pure emotion that you showed over my friend my fellow comrade and I wanted to thank you for that and see if we could speak a bit further about what it was that was making you so upset.
Speaker 125 Tyranny, offer him your hand.
Speaker 133 Oh, can I also shake your hand? Actually, this is great. Hi.
Speaker 114 Tyranny.
Speaker 76 Wow.
Speaker 133
Your hands are so big and rough. His hands are so soft.
It's crazy.
Speaker 65 Soft with the holiness of the Creed.
Speaker 127 Yes.
Speaker 65 It is a pleasure to meet you. And yes, thank you for coming.
Speaker 65 I'm sure we can find a way to assist each other. I can guide you in any way you need to go and perhaps you could
Speaker 65 be of assistance to my family as well.
Speaker 114 I would be very open to any such suggestion. I came here to serve the amazing Loza Blade, but obviously my brother and others that know the Aussie have
Speaker 114 we have been
Speaker 114 waylaid by this. It is hard to know what to do next, but I saw in you
Speaker 114
a kindred light. Yes.
The feeling that answers lie in that light, and I knew that if I found you,
Speaker 114 I could find someone that would help me guide, guide the others to that light.
Speaker 6 You see, Tyranny, when you carry yourself with goodness and justice,
Speaker 6 others see it, respect it, and home in on it.
Speaker 6 Always carry yourself with respect, self-respect.
Speaker 133 Understood, your radiance.
Speaker 65 Yes, I'm sure I can guide you
Speaker 128 to somewhere where your true heart can do its best.
Speaker 65 A friend of the light is a friend of mine, and please come inside with us.
Speaker 114 Thank you, that's most kind.
Speaker 28 You enter into the manor and arrive up at your study.
Speaker 47 The Via Aurora is beautifully appointed, and you have a little bit of privacy here to discuss.
Speaker 122 Well, um,
Speaker 123 if I may ask, um, how were you friends with Theazi?
Speaker 114 Do you mind if I make myself comfortable?
Speaker 127 Uh uh
Speaker 57 sure, go ahead.
Speaker 114 Uh, I'll reach back and take the shield that's on my back and take it off, and underneath it you'll see a giant golden flail with an angled head underneath it.
Speaker 114 And that when I put it down, it weighs a lot.
Speaker 76 Oh,
Speaker 114 that's much better.
Speaker 31 Theazzi was
Speaker 114
a friend, friend, but also a mentor. I looked up to him in the torn banner of the Falconers rebellion.
It was it meant a lot to me and the people that I served with.
Speaker 114 But we had gone our separate ways over the years, and Elosa Blade and I were coming back to Dol Makyar, and we meant to find him and my brother, Sid. Do you know him?
Speaker 128 Do I know Sid?
Speaker 82 Sid, Pride Sar. Give me a history check.
Speaker 166 Oh, at a difficulty 20.
Speaker 114 Hell Sidimir.
Speaker 30 Oh, nice.
Speaker 118 History. 16.
Speaker 32 16.
Speaker 121 The name Pridesire rings a bell.
Speaker 59 I'll say on a 16 history.
Speaker 121 The Falconers Rebellion.
Speaker 25 I forget how old Wick is. How old is Wick?
Speaker 65 He's only like 28, 29.
Speaker 146 So you would have been a kid at the end of the Falconers Rebellion.
Speaker 19 The torn banner, you know, on a 16, which meant that this mercenary in front of you fought on the other side of the war from your family.
Speaker 45 Oh.
Speaker 122 oh dear.
Speaker 128 Um, well, um, forgiveness, forgiveness is one of our central tenets.
Speaker 42 Um,
Speaker 42 do you still harbor resentment or ill-will towards the noble houses? Of course not.
Speaker 114 No, such things are the ways of the past. All of that has been remedied, and new power has been instilled, has it not?
Speaker 122 It has, yes. Um,
Speaker 128 and we are um to bury the old hatchets and um move forward with with
Speaker 42 friendship and
Speaker 6 partnership with even those who fought against us.
Speaker 65 That's why Tyranny and her sisters work with us.
Speaker 42 They former shadows.
Speaker 100 Our faith believes that the light can
Speaker 65 burn through any shadow, and she and her sisters were once demons.
Speaker 133 Well, I still am a demon, technically, but I'm on my way.
Speaker 25 Yes, excellent.
Speaker 114 How redemptive? How many sisters do you have?
Speaker 133 I have three sisters.
Speaker 114 A handful, to be sure.
Speaker 98 Do you have siblings besides Sid?
Speaker 114 Just my brother.
Speaker 45 A small knock on the door,
Speaker 62 and then without waiting for a response, the door opens.
Speaker 24 A number of servants out there, and the Photarch,
Speaker 32 Vanessa, walks in, your grandmother.
Speaker 40 Yes.
Speaker 42 I pick up my cane and sort of comport myself well.
Speaker 16 She walks in and says,
Speaker 67 Rott, Wick, we need to talk.
Speaker 110 Hello, and who are you, my friend?
Speaker 114 I am Teor Pride, sire. It is a pleasure to be in your presence, Photark.
Speaker 16 I understand that there was an accident outside and that you.
Speaker 109 healed one of our porters.
Speaker 151 With
Speaker 42 not only healed with
Speaker 129 radiance,
Speaker 65 he might be
Speaker 42 luminous or some sort of
Speaker 32 light-touched.
Speaker 16 Are you one of the luminous? Are you one of our faithful?
Speaker 78 This
Speaker 114
term is new to me. I admit I am new to the Candescent Creed, but tales of your light have spread far and wide outside of Dolnakyar.
I had journeyed into the city to learn more.
Speaker 35 Give me if you feel so inclined to deception or persuasion.
Speaker 64 Which one of those is better?
Speaker 114 Oh, it's not gonna matter either way.
Speaker 25 Bye. Bye.
Speaker 139 She looks...
Speaker 18 She looks at you and says
Speaker 17 how wonderful that news of our order has reached, that the light spreads as it must and always shall.
Speaker 110 A warrior
Speaker 151 gifted with innate connection to the light itself.
Speaker 25 Might I
Speaker 25 I looked on a register that
Speaker 14 the inimitable Loza Blade,
Speaker 14 whose reputation far precedes her, had
Speaker 62 made an appointment with you as well.
Speaker 6 She vouched for Teor here.
Speaker 26 Well,
Speaker 141 the House Taconis, having arrived for the somber and tragic execution,
Speaker 16 are currently present and they believe there may be some danger afoot in the city.
Speaker 109 I think a bolstering of house security may be
Speaker 62 prudent.
Speaker 19 I hate to think of such things.
Speaker 16 I wish only that peace and justice prevailed in the hearts of all.
Speaker 149 But until such time as the light can fully spread, such that none seek violent response,
Speaker 16 I think it might be worthy of us to take the word of one such as Loza Blade if it if it's all right with you that we increase your security detail, my grandson.
Speaker 65 I've I'm, of course, more than capable of defending myself,
Speaker 65 and with Tyranny at my side, I have even more protection. However,
Speaker 65 absolutely, Photoc, if you recommend even more security.
Speaker 114 Photarch, if I might be so bold,
Speaker 114 Loza Blade is,
Speaker 114 well, to be fair, a fan of this honored household. Despite our past differences,
Speaker 114 we see the good good that's been laid and the time spent.
Speaker 114 If I may, I would like to put my name forward as perhaps a consideration for that protection.
Speaker 57 I would like to take dangerous times and
Speaker 100 a sturdy fellow is offering himself?
Speaker 6 That's like fortuitous.
Speaker 23 Let's take Master Pride, sire.
Speaker 14 Servant, let's say that Master Pride, Sire is...
Speaker 110 First of all, can we not supply a drink or some food or something like that for
Speaker 64 Master Pride Sire?
Speaker 133 That's on me.
Speaker 14 Go ahead and take him, and we'll send Sir Filonius to you.
Speaker 105 That would be
Speaker 32 McWickander's uncle our head of security.
Speaker 114 Sir Filonius, wonderful.
Speaker 80 And we'll have that all settled.
Speaker 166 Thank you so much.
Speaker 140 The light, as always,
Speaker 16 moves in all directions, and it is simply for us to open our arms and receive it.
Speaker 148 Thank you.
Speaker 114 Thank you, Fotark.
Speaker 111 See the young
Speaker 24 Master Pride Sire to some food, aspirant.
Speaker 133
Ah, yes, we're talking to Yanessa. Um, alright, let's go get snackies.
Um
Speaker 26 are you okay?
Speaker 123 I think so, yes, yes, thank you.
Speaker 18 Uh, you are shuttled out, the door closes, so it is just Yanessa and Wikander.
Speaker 64 Yanessa turns to you and says, Get rid of the elf throw rug, would you?
Speaker 127 The the cat man?
Speaker 34 Yeah,
Speaker 121 he's up to some funny business.
Speaker 25 Look, I got no such thing for you.
Speaker 14 When are you kind of open your eyes and realize that our house has got enemies? Lows of Blay was the commander of the torn banner.
Speaker 25 Yes, they're
Speaker 14 hanged as traitors.
Speaker 100 I thought that
Speaker 138 we had let bygones be bygones and were moving forward with friendship.
Speaker 121 There are no bygones.
Speaker 66 There are never bygones.
Speaker 13 Everything is another drumbeat of a drum that's been ringing since the dawn of time.
Speaker 66 The Hale of Os
Speaker 26 were the house of priests,
Speaker 34 second only to the royal royal house of obradimia
Speaker 34 we were
Speaker 13 the golden crowned and then the shapers war cast our homeland into eternal darkness one after the other where the gods fell the barrowdales rose this world is half poisoned wastelands ruins magic chaos eternal night that's the thanks for killing the gods
Speaker 75 And you're gonna let one of those torn banner walk in here and and and what
Speaker 67 ask you about why theazi fang is dead
Speaker 94 this whole plan has been a mistake this whole plan has been a mistake now i'm i'm sorry i'm sorry if i've done something uh wrong but what plan are you talking about i i thought we were going to spare theazi to to show our goodness to the to the people of this fine city to earn some of the forgiveness that is baked into our seven shining tenets if forgiveness is one of them i thought we were meant to forgive people like like the torn banner and like Theazi.
Speaker 38 Why couldn't we have spared his life?
Speaker 111 The Taconis
Speaker 16 are moving, and we need to move and keep up.
Speaker 142 Do you understand?
Speaker 16 They are our closest allies.
Speaker 26 Sure.
Speaker 129 And that means that our backs are right within reach of their knives.
Speaker 16 Oh,
Speaker 16 why are they still so strong?
Speaker 16 Their lands destroyed and sundered, halfway between Storm Rack and Eternal Night?
Speaker 25 Why?
Speaker 16 What moves are they making on boards we can't see?
Speaker 16 Fiazi had to die because the Taconists wanted him to die.
Speaker 81 And right now, we need them close. I still can't get my eyes on what exactly it is that they can do.
Speaker 25 You.
Speaker 25 I've done you wrong.
Speaker 16 I've betrayed you.
Speaker 42 No, not you. No, no, no, no.
Speaker 127 You speak only truth.
Speaker 127 I thought.
Speaker 127 I thought
Speaker 104 it would be of great benefit to our house
Speaker 143 that our Scion
Speaker 112 should walk only in the light
Speaker 16 but there's nothing solid that doesn't cast a shadow
Speaker 16 I made a mistake and I've been making it and it's time to set things right
Speaker 16 don't make any plans for tonight
Speaker 16 when your father returns
Speaker 16 it's time for you to know
Speaker 25 the truth
Speaker 41 you mean to promote me
Speaker 16 Yeah, Wiki, you're getting promoted.
Speaker 16 And she opens the door and leaves.
Speaker 25 And that's where we'll take our break.
