Speaker 1 Big one. Big.
Let's hear it for SB winner Elon Mall.

Speaker 1 What if this is too, like, too in your face, you know, like, not like demure to be like, wait, what? Because it's like, obviously, you know, you want to have like grace. F grace.

Speaker 1 Welcome to House of Marr, a Wave original. We have a few house rules.
Girls are magic. Reading is hot.
And so are you.

Speaker 1 Make sure to subscribe to our YouTube so that you can see us in person and see the chaotic backgrounds that I'm constantly dealing out for you guys. I'm the middle sister, Alona Marr.

Speaker 1 And I'm the eldest daughter, Olivia Marr. And I'm the youngest, Adriana Maher.
We like to start every episode with a reminder that, you know, the internet is a big place.

Speaker 1 We like to come together and weekly to remind you and us to touch some grass. So this is your weekly reminder to touch grass.
This week's touch grass is brought to you by Propel. What propels you?

Speaker 1 Ladies, I...

Speaker 1 This has been on my mind. I think I have a lot of thoughts and things to say, which is why I want to talk about it, but we must discuss laboo boos.
You fan? I don't think so, but I'm not a hater.

Speaker 1 I am never a hater to women's enjoyment because it's mostly, it seems to be women enjoying these, you know, collectible toys. I guess, Dre, could you explain to us what a labo-boo is?

Speaker 1 Freaky little monster things.

Speaker 1 It's the new beanie baby. Is it? And that's like the vibe.
Yeah. They're worth something? I don't know if people think they're worth something, but they're spending a lot of money for them.

Speaker 1 And the whole thing is that it's like a surprise. You don't know what labuboo you're going to get.
You buy a box, it's labuboo, open it, and you're like, I hope it's the freakier one.

Speaker 1 So that's how the like owner became like a billionaire overnight. You have to buy multiples to see what's going to be in them to get the labuboo that you want.
It's amazing marketing. It's amazing.

Speaker 1 I mean, okay, in simplest terms, to anybody watching or listening that does not know what a labuboo is, it's a keychain-stuffed character that's collectible in the way like a beanie baby was, or if you heard of like, if you knew like jelly cats or squishmallows.

Speaker 1 But I wonder, it's such a moment.

Speaker 1 It's such a something that's happening right now, which is, I think, I'm not one to ever like jump too heartily into something like that, especially when money is involved. So I don't own a luboo boo.

Speaker 1 I have one friend that I know of that owns a luboo boo. And she only got it because her friend was obsessed and was like, I bought you a box.
I bought your own luboo boo.

Speaker 1 We're going to unbox them together. And then my friend and I were at a restaurant and she, it was just on her bag.

Speaker 1 bag and she was like can i admit something to you now and i was like please do she was like i feel nothing for this guy i feel nothing and i was like me too girl like my

Speaker 1 thing with labo boos and i saw this online but it's like where are they all gonna be in 2040

Speaker 1 in the ground in the ground in a landfill oh right you're not you're not keeping all of these and there's like hard plastic involved

Speaker 1 and it's just

Speaker 1 i'm a hater about them it's consumerism to the like like nth degree.

Speaker 1 And I'm like, I think, yeah, have one. You know, like you're being human is like enjoying these like little things.
But I'm like, getting that many for what? Yeah.

Speaker 1 It's like people that collect Stanley cups, like the big ones. Like, I love, I drink, I drink out of mine.
That thing dude would be making me drink water.

Speaker 1 But the people that, not just Stanleys, but any reusable water bottle who collect them in the different colors, it's like, that's so.

Speaker 1 Not the point. That's not the point of a reusable water bottle is owning all of those things.
Like, I don't get that. That is definitely, as you say, like consumerism to the max.

Speaker 1 Makes me a little nervous. Alona, would you ever get a Laboo Boo? I mean, maybe.
I just probably not if I bought it, I wouldn't buy it for myself unless all my friends are doing it.

Speaker 1 I'm a follower, so I'll probably do it.

Speaker 1 And then, which case, yeah, she'll get she'll do it.

Speaker 1 Another touch grass we have today is that, I mean, I think this happens a lot, but more studies have come out that vaping is even worse than we already previously thought, which was bad before.

Speaker 1 What?

Speaker 1 No. No.

Speaker 1 No, it can't be. I didn't see that.
I saw that coming. No, I didn't see that from a mile away.
That's crazy. Vaping's that bad for you.
What do these new studies kind of reveal?

Speaker 1 Well, I read the Times article on it, and it's just like split up into a bunch of different sections of all the different evidence. And it's just like oral health.

Speaker 1 high blood pressure this and that like there's just everything's affected

Speaker 1 it's really not good would they say it? It was like

Speaker 1 stiffening your heart arteries and causing walking high blood pressure and this and that.

Speaker 1 And there's, I saw those things about how much worse it was. Like, it's almost better for you to smoke a cigarette.

Speaker 1 Like, it's like comparatively, I think that's better for you, like than the chemicals that come with sucking on a USB.

Speaker 1 plug-in like i don't believe that i don't believe that there's that's right about cigarette versus vape because also these stupid studies that come out saying this stuff it's like you haven't had a long enough control group to see what's happening, right?

Speaker 1 So, I mean, I think smoking is just as bad. I can't imagine.
I mean, vaping is terrible for you, but I, I mean, I haven't read the study, of course, but I mean, they'd be interested.

Speaker 1 No, they all just sound terrible. That's actually another pet peeve.
You know what? Stop not vaping. Here's my touch grass moment.
Why are we all saying study shows this, study shows that?

Speaker 1 Did you actually have a study on that? I like, I just liked one.

Speaker 1 Study shows if you have your study shows, your dog will love you if this happens. It's like, did the dog tell you that?

Speaker 1 How is the study showing that? Did you have a controlled group of dogs that weren't with that? And then you have one that wasn't? Who was the like?

Speaker 1 I that is probably something that really pisses me off. I just even liked a picture of one too.
Hold on, let me see if I can find it.

Speaker 1 And it really grinded my gears because I love, fun fact about me, I love studies. I love peer-reviewed articles.

Speaker 1 I can find you, when I was in college, I could find you an article to support anything I ever said. I was that good at it.
Study shows if you eat cheese, you're going to live longer. Okay.

Speaker 1 You think? How did we figure that out? Oh, there was that study back in the day that was like, oh, a glass of red wine, like one, like one drink a day is actually quite good for you. Yeah.

Speaker 1 And then it turned out that it was like, okay, because they, the same, who they were sampling and who they were, you know, following were richer.

Speaker 1 you know, higher class people who had access to proper health care and like care their entire lives. So, yeah, they naturally sort of lived longer lives.

Speaker 1 It had nothing to do with the glass of red wine that they were having daily. Okay, I can't find it, but I freaking, I, I, every time that comes across my page, it'll be the dumbest stuff.

Speaker 1 I get extremely angry. And here's a PSA: you guys got to stop, stop reposting, sharing the stuff that says study shows this.

Speaker 1 Unless I want you to go find where that article is, find out who, who, who supported that, who's the peer reviewer on that,

Speaker 1 and then tell me that that's real. Don't believe what you read online, guys.
Seriously, it's pissing me off. You guys got to be smarter.

Speaker 1 I've seen these incredible articles, like studies show that the oldest siblings are often the smartest, and that has been

Speaker 1 that's been researched. That's been it.
They also said

Speaker 1 the funniest and most gorgeous. A great one, a great thing.
That's fact by science that has been put out there. How did they find that out?

Speaker 1 You've you, so you're telling me you interviewed and you did a test on 5,000 oldest siblings to figure that out. How do you find that?

Speaker 1 Gosh, I'm passionate about this stuff because people are really just going to be misled and just believe anything.

Speaker 1 I'm going to actually just start writing that. Study shows if you follow Alona Mar, you'll live to be 100 years old.

Speaker 1 I can work on that. Get me into Canva right now.
This feels like I saw this TikTok that was like when you successfully rage bait your sister.

Speaker 1 You're just like so excited, and the sister's like choking her out. And she's just like, ah, I did it.

Speaker 1 I got her. On that vein, though, I feel like, have you guys heard of Zins?

Speaker 1 Another form of nicotine? It's a nicotine patch.

Speaker 1 You put it within your lip. So it's like packing a lip, but it's like this compact thing, a nicotine you hook right here.
I've heard of these. When I was in Sweden, the Zins were...

Speaker 1 It wasn't a Zin, but they had that ahead of time, like the chew, but like in a pouch. And I just remember under every fucking table and everything, instead of of gum, it was these used Zen packets.

Speaker 1 And they stuck to walls and stuff. Like, so Sweden's been on that wave.

Speaker 1 The first time I ever saw a Zin on TikTok was hot blonde Swedish girls showing their Zins in their lips and me being like, what is going on right now?

Speaker 1 That makes sense. It's so sad.
And I just...

Speaker 1 Why do we, they are finding every single way to get nicotine into your bodies. People have them in their weddings and you can see them in their wedding photos like the groom.

Speaker 1 No,

Speaker 1 I mean to me, ugh, neither is a great option. I went to school in the middle of nowhere where packing a lip was quite popular and that shit's disgusting.
That shit is so gross.

Speaker 1 The spitting and the like massive wad of it or whatever. Ew, I just want to say zins are a pouch.
They're not a patch. I said patch earlier.
It's a pouch that you put in.

Speaker 1 So like the nicotine is direct on your skin, which also leads to cancers and other scary things.

Speaker 1 But I just saw a girl on TikTok talk about how if you've just broken up with a guy and you find yourself like missing him so much, you feel like,

Speaker 1 oh my God, you can't believe it. It's like, okay, but babe, if he ever packed Zins, like, and you would, you've ever

Speaker 1 kiss him, you're actually literally having withdrawals like from him and from the nicotine in his mouth or whatever. And I thought that was so interesting.
Did I study? Was there a study? Yep.

Speaker 1 Lona, what if you lived back in the day, you know, like, and you were, say, the

Speaker 1 like the town healer having to make brews and stuff. You wouldn't have control groups.
You would just be, that worked for that one person. Yeah, your control groups who died and who doesn't.

Speaker 1 Back in the day, it wasn't that big if, you know, you're chilling. Okay, that plant, that plant didn't work on Susie.

Speaker 1 Let me try this bark on Adam. You're just killing people left and right.
So whether they die or not. They were, but they were trial and erroring constantly, literally, constantly.
Right.

Speaker 1 Nowadays, we just say stuff. We just say things that we don't know and aren't real.
And then people believe it. The vaping study did say that obviously vaping has not been around for that long.

Speaker 1 So obviously, you don't know the full range. I think the vaping is probably a lot of it is real.

Speaker 1 I think it's going to be even interesting later on when we find out even more about vaping when, you know, because it is, it's not like it's a newer thing but like definitely more people and younger kids are in it but i think it'll be interesting even later on when we find out all the things that are happening with vaping i mean it's like it's just the tip of the iceberg now who knows what problems these people are going to have later and i think studies like this are trying to just warn of that you know put as much information as they can out there as soon as possible in any form of like preventative help yourself like measure How long have cigarettes been around for?

Speaker 1 Millions of years. Well, although not.
Now, I feel like

Speaker 1 cigarettes.

Speaker 1 Oh, well, people have been smoking. If we look at

Speaker 1 2025,

Speaker 1 people have been smoking for thousands of years.

Speaker 1 Yes, they've always been lighting up something. Yeah.
Opium. So we're just going to go just specifically cigarettes because people have been smoking tobacco for probably,

Speaker 1 I would say, a thousand years. I'm not right about that.
But probably a long time. So cigarettes have been in it, but also people died really before you could see the consequences of their actions.

Speaker 1 This episode comes out and it's going to be an article. Studies by Alona Marr show.
Cigarettes have been smoked for millions of years.

Speaker 1 Olivia,

Speaker 1 it's quite serious, isn't it? It's quite serious, isn't it? She's not messing with these studies, dude.

Speaker 1 They're number one up. No, literally, dude.

Speaker 1 Dogs who eat cheese live the longest. Studies show.

Speaker 1 Lotus number one off.

Speaker 1 Did the dog put that out? Did the dog put that study out?

Speaker 1 That sounds very much something like a dog would say. Dog with a blog, dog with a study.

Speaker 1 And it's funny because you're probably always seeing those dog ones because people be loving their dogs and anything that makes them like they'll just be like resharing anything that has to do with that.

Speaker 1 I knew my dogs love me and now science can prove it.

Speaker 1 Dog doesn't like you and science hates you. Wrong.
Sorry.

Speaker 1 I am so excited for this spa day. Candles lit.
Music on. Hot tub warm and ready.

Speaker 1 And then my chronic hives come back. Again, in the middle of my spa day.
What a wet blanket. Looks like another spell of itchy red skin.

Speaker 1 If you have chronic spontaneous urticaria or CSU, there is a different treatment option. Hives during my next spa day? Not if I can help it.

Speaker 1 Okay, one of my current hyper fixations is my love for Propel Fitness Water. And that's why I'm so excited to share that this week's episode is sponsored in part by Propel.
I love to see it, Olivia.

Speaker 1 And I know that Propel has a range of exciting flavors to choose from. What is everyone's favorite? I'm kind of messing with the black cherry.
Grape all day, baby.

Speaker 1 They are my favorite post-Pilates or Hawk Girl Walk refresher. Nice.
And with Gatorade Electrolytes, zero sugar and vitamins, Propel hydrates better than water.

Speaker 1 It's exactly what I need after my long walks in the city because it's been hot and you be sweating and i need my girls to stay hydrated okay replenished i love all the flavors propel just tastes so great quick question for each of you what propels you honestly just talking to you guys um knowing i can be like just my true like real self kind of same thing i mean we are family after all but for me it's showing up for my family and friends uh that propels me and for me it's all my books my romance books propel helps you get the most out of your workout so you can get back to your best self Grab a propel fitness water wherever you shop to help you get the most out of your next workout.

Speaker 1 What propels you?

Speaker 1 Let's roll. Let's roll to some tea time.
We've had a lot going on.

Speaker 1 Big one.

Speaker 1 Number one, let's hear it for SP winner Elona Maher.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 And the SP goes to

Speaker 1 Alona Mar.

Speaker 1 Yeah, how are you feeling?

Speaker 1 I feel good, honestly. It was so cool.
I kind of was hoping to win. Not like I knew that I would win, but I was really, really, really praying for it.
Really think, not praying for it.

Speaker 1 I was thinking I would win, you know.

Speaker 1 But it was really good. So I just jotted my speech down.
I first wrote it in my journal, then I wrote it on my phone. I sent it to Olivia and Rhiannon to check over.

Speaker 1 And then Olivia beautifully wrote it out for me on a piece of paper

Speaker 1 while I was getting ready.

Speaker 1 And then I didn't realize like what other people would read their speeches off of the teleprompter. I didn't know you could do that.

Speaker 1 But I think it was best because I do better off the cuff and just like fresh free flowing. So I'm happy that I didn't know that there was an option to read off teleprompter.

Speaker 1 I think it would have like kind of stifled me in my creative freedom. You were

Speaker 1 so good at it too. You barely looked, you just like referenced it, but then you even, you had memorized most of it.
I was, I was very impressed, darling.

Speaker 1 Well, I mean, it's the same stuff I always talk about, right? Like it's not nothing new.

Speaker 1 I think the big thing that I'm happy I got in there was about the World Cup to really point on that. PSA, there is a Women's Rugby World Cup this year.
Probably a lot of you didn't know.

Speaker 1 The biggest event in women's rugby starting in about a month. Watch it, tune in, you're not gonna understand it the first time you watch it.
And then,

Speaker 1 you know, my message about muscles. Strong is beautiful, strong is powerful, it's sexy, it's whatever you want it to be, and I hope more girls can feel how I feel.

Speaker 1 And that's kind of a reason why I chose that dress. So I was styled by Margo Zamet and Adidas,

Speaker 1 and I wasn't sure about that dress. And we tried on some other stuff, but I

Speaker 1 actually tried it on the day of that morning before getting ready. And I think we liked it because it was like it showed off the muscles, it showed off my body.
Was it the most classy of stress?

Speaker 1 No, probably not. No, well, but I think it was just for me, it's a sports award.
My muscles are the accessory. They brought me, they really are the reason I'm at that award.

Speaker 1 So, I love that I got to show it in

Speaker 1 such a way, and also it was a talking piece. People, people love to talk about it.
I got a people article written about it. I've had many people say it wasn't flattering, and honestly, thank you.

Speaker 1 Keep commenting, keep saying that stuff, you're helping me. And I was on Vogue Beauty page, so sly.
Oh, I didn't see that. Yeah,

Speaker 1 best looks like best beauty looks, and everything. I mean, that dress.
So, Alona is, as we all know, she's been at rugby camp in the middle of nowhere East Coast where it's hot as hell.

Speaker 1 She's training daily.

Speaker 1 They are rocking and rolling towards the Rugby World Cup. So there's no time for her to just like pop to do a fitting, to try on things, to be like make everything perfect.
So Margot, like.

Speaker 1 luckily knows your body, you know, so she, you've worked with her before for Sports Illustrated and everything. So there was like a call to talk about kind of what you wanted.

Speaker 1 Margot did come down to try on some options. And then ultimately everything had to make its way to Los Angeles to me for you to be dressed and ready for the Espes here.

Speaker 1 So that was dress was one of the options that when we put it on, we were like, oh, you know, there was other options that were lovely and nice and classy, but it just kind of was like, to me, seeing the other dresses, what I said was, that dress says, oh,

Speaker 1 Alona Marr was there. Whereas that dress that you wore.
to me felt like Alona Marr is here. Yeah.
Like it, and as Adriana, you said it, it had star power. There was just something to it.

Speaker 1 It covered everything. All the essentials were covered.
I admit,

Speaker 1 I think it had more fabric than some of the other options, frankly. But because of just the style of it, yeah, it seems a bit like risque, but I loved it.

Speaker 1 I loved it too. I thought it was out there.
I love that my shoulders were on display. My whole back was on display.
We did have to check for some nip slips, but we made it through.

Speaker 1 There was one point where I almost, so also after I present my award, I'm about to go back to my seat and they text my agent and are like, hey, don't let alone a sit down.

Speaker 1 We might need to present an award. And they asked me if I wanted to.
I was like, what am I doing? Of course.

Speaker 1 And so it turns out I present this icon award to Alex Morgan and Diana Taurasi, which is absolutely crazy because it's like, what do you mean, me? I'm presenting it. Those two are icons.

Speaker 1 Like, it feels like it should be another icon presenting it. So it was just wild that I was chosen to do this to two women who are just have changed the game for years and years and years.

Speaker 1 But it was so cool to present. to them and to give them the trophies because I'm like, what, what is happening right now for these people to know who I am?

Speaker 1 And then, but as I I was going to present, I accidentally like hit somebody and my dress almost moved. And I caught eyes with Sierra and Lindsay Vaughan and I was like, and they were like,

Speaker 1 but it was all, it was all good. We did it.
We, you know, made it through. And it was so cool.

Speaker 1 It's such a cool time to be in that room of those people and to meet all them and to feel like almost an equal in a way. I mean, you are.
And to me, you are an icon.

Speaker 1 You've, you've been forging an iconic path for a while now. So you had every right to be presenting that award to those people.

Speaker 1 That was crazy for me because when you won your award, you obviously go backstage and you do that. And I was in the seat like, hey, and then I was just kind of like there alone.

Speaker 1 But they bring in seat fillers to come and like fill, you know, seats, like nicely dressed people, which was actually fun all night because I had like two different seat fillers throughout the night like turn to me and be like, I just want to say I, I listen, I love your podcast.

Speaker 1 I listen to it every week. You and your sisters, I just love it so much.
And I was like, oh. Thank you so much.
So that was really great.

Speaker 1 But when you were finally back and you were walking by, I thought you were coming back to the seat. So I was trying to record like a fun video of you, and you were like, Come here, get over here.

Speaker 1 And I was like, Oh, so I had to like hurtle over the seat filler, follow you upstage. And I was like, What the hell is going on right now? And you're like, I might present an award.

Speaker 1 I was like, Oh, when? And they brought you right to a teleprompter to show you the script, tell you how it was all going to happen. Like, it's live TV.

Speaker 1 They're like, You're going to walk this way and then you're going to do this. I think you did a great job.
Thank you. I should have paused for effect, but it's okay.
It's going to haunt me.

Speaker 1 It's going to haunt me the rest of my days.

Speaker 1 No, I liked it because sometimes these award shows can drag on, but it was like, no, she is getting through this because it was like a longer speech too that you had to give.

Speaker 1 So it was like, we all heard the clapping, but you were like, we still got videos to see. They got to give their speech.
It wasn't

Speaker 1 a, it wasn't a bad thing that you didn't pause. And nobody realized that you were not meant to be doing that because you did it so well.
They just, they, I mean, like the, I think the SBs chose well.

Speaker 1 What an honor. They saw, they saw you speak without a teleprompter so eloquently.
They're like, she can do it. What an honor.
But I think that, yeah, people couldn't even tell.

Speaker 1 They just thought that was supposed to be happening. So well done, Alona.

Speaker 1 Hey, John, I was ready with that Espies edit, huh? Too. Thank you so much.
Give the background, though. You made an edit before that.
Please. Yeah.

Speaker 1 And I think I manifested Alona's win once I saw Anthony Ramos up on that stage.

Speaker 1 For context, it was a Hamilton edit. So I first edited

Speaker 1 as like a promoting people to, or I first edited a video promoting voting. Jefferson, Jefferson has my vote.
That one, whatever the one that one's called.

Speaker 1 And then after a loan of one, I was feeling inspired. I was like, and I was actually, I was just in a soul cycle class where

Speaker 1 my teacher did Yorktown by Hamilton. And I was like, there's a section in that where it just says, we won, we won, we won.
And I was like, let's keep with the Hamilton train.

Speaker 1 So I found the sketchiest website to download YouTube videos into video files onto my laptop really quickly, grabbed those video files, went into InShot, and just quickly put it all together in like the a minute and a half footage it was.

Speaker 1 Nice.

Speaker 1 You slay. It was like 10.30 and I was like, hold up.
I got an idea. When inspiration strikes, you listen.

Speaker 1 And then I sent it off to Lo.

Speaker 1 And afterwards, I was like, what if this is too, like, too in your face, you know, like, not like demure to be like, we won because it's like obviously you know you want to have like grace fuck grace

Speaker 1 fuck grace would a man think that sorry sorry that i won an sbs sorry it's taken me seven years and two olympics like i said i'm excited i don't i'm sorry i guess everyone who acts chill about it they were expecting to win an award not me i'm i'm jazzed I'm absolutely jazzed.

Speaker 1 I'm the first person in rugby who's ever won an SB,

Speaker 1 male or female for any category. I don't need to be graceful.
That's crazy. That's awesome.
And I'm super excited and so honored to have gotten that. I'm very proud, and I don't need to be graceful.

Speaker 1 I am. But you were graceful.
You were graceful.

Speaker 1 I was graceful, but I just think that, like, it's, I think people just loved it and loved my reactions and loved it because, like, they're so used to people being so da da da. And thank you so much.

Speaker 1 And we did this, but

Speaker 1 I mean, how cool that I won that and that I got that award. I was like, you even see us when I I win, I fist bump because it's just, I'm not expecting that.
It's just so fun.

Speaker 1 And I feel like we're so taught to be so measured and so quiet. But

Speaker 1 you know, be proud of yourself. Like, you know, pump yourself up.
That's, you did that. I did that.
I got myself up there.

Speaker 1 And

Speaker 1 this idea that we have to be like more demure and quiet, like people just seem to love when I'm myself. And if people can understand the power it is to just be who you are,

Speaker 1 people really like everybody was complimenting on my speech. Shift please, they loved how,

Speaker 1 you know, how just true and honest and authentic it was. And it wasn't perfect and it wasn't, you know, filtered.
They just loved that.

Speaker 1 I,

Speaker 1 yeah, fuck grace, go with it. Humbleness, be humble, but also understand you're worthy and deserving.

Speaker 1 Let's write that all down.

Speaker 1 That was some fire you just dropped.

Speaker 1 Second Espy's acceptance speech there. I love it.
Celebrate yourself because at the end of the day, who else is going to do it? Good for you.

Speaker 1 Right.

Speaker 1 Hey, Johnny, you also have recorded yourself me winning, right? Yeah, because I was like, I had high hopes. And I was like, my edit did really well.

Speaker 1 And I was like, that got a lot of people straight to the link. Right, right.

Speaker 1 So I was like, I was with my friend and my hair was so greasy, but I was like, hey, do you mind if I just like throw up my phone on my camera, like on my laptop, and just in case?

Speaker 1 She's like, yeah absolutely and i'm so glad i captured that because it was so fun um

Speaker 1 and it was just

Speaker 1 i think it's i don't know if i normally would have recorded something like that but i had like a living in the back of my head to be like just like capture it why not yeah

Speaker 1 the more the merrier and i'm glad i did My teammates were also very excited. A couple of them recorded themselves of me winning.
And then when I got back that next day, they were also excited.

Speaker 1 Everyone, you know, hugged me and we were so happy. And it was mentioned a lot.
So I have a team.

Speaker 1 Okay, you know what? I said fuck Grace, but also like understand that it's not just me that got me there.

Speaker 1 Like I'm very proud of myself for doing it, but I did it because I have a great team, because I have amazing teammates and sisters. So

Speaker 1 and great to see them and great followers, great followers. And they're so excited for me to be up there.

Speaker 1 So, you know, women sporting women, they were there for me and they, they were just so, so happy I did this. That was the first thing you mentioned in your speech, babes.

Speaker 1 You mentioned that you are not a single sport athlete. You are a team player and that it's your team that brought you there.
Like, that was, ugh, all of your, like, your sections of that speech alone.

Speaker 1 It was so good. It's the entire time, like, you like hit it.
And I just think starting off with like your girls and then to be able to go see them the next morning and be with them. That was amazing.

Speaker 1 You know what I was thinking of? If I, if I was, I wouldn't have done this, but also would have been good. Was I should have been like, and next time, SPs, you can just let me host.

Speaker 1 I am free to host next year. I have nothing on my schedule at that time.
I'll clear my schedule. I will be funny.
I will be charming. I will bring everybody up.

Speaker 1 The only people I will possibly make fun of are a few men.

Speaker 1 And that's it. But other than that, other than that, you've seen what I can do.
They're going to be laughing. They might cry.
Vibes will be up. People will be in love with me.

Speaker 1 Just give me a call, okay? Give her a ring.

Speaker 1 She's waiting for you. Well, before we move on, though, I did have something to present to Adriana, which is the Best Breakthrough Editor Award.

Speaker 1 So this is for you.

Speaker 1 Please edit a trophy into my hands. Thank you.
Oh, my God. No, thank you so much.
Give us your acceptance speech. A la Alona.
Well, first off, I want to say that it is not just me behind the phone.

Speaker 1 I have both of my sisters with me. And I want to thank all the inspirations around me.
I would like to thank Lynn, Manuel, Miranda for your creative genius, and I will continue to use it.

Speaker 1 This all comes back to Lynn Track. It all comes back to Lynn.
I saw his costume in the Smithsonian yesterday. Took a photo.

Speaker 1 And I would like to thank

Speaker 1 my vine editing days. Right, right.
And I think it all comes back to that as well.

Speaker 1 And Alona, thanks for being my inspiration. Of course.
My muse. Of course.

Speaker 1 Olivia, just quickly before we move on, I need to know about officiating. I need to know how it was.

Speaker 1 i saw that video where you show up as if you're like a pastor or something hilarious stuff what's that thing called what is it i don't know what how was it caller the priest caller okay how was it were you nervous were you excited did you kill it i haven't seen a video yet thank you so much for um asking i officiated my first ever wedding this past weekend Huzzah, love, yay, which was exciting and nerve-wracking.

Speaker 1 It's kind of been weighing on me for like months now because I like, I ultimately was like, what is my issue? Like, what is my mental block? Like, why am I struggling essentially with this?

Speaker 1 It's like, oh, because you want to do a good job naturally. Right.
So like you're trying to wait until you have all the tools to do that, but it's like, no, you just got to freaking do it.

Speaker 1 Put pen to paper, start writing. So the creative process was a tough, slow start for me, but I ultimately enjoyed it.
You know, I'm very happy with what I came up with. Somebody.

Speaker 1 early on the process was like, oh, just use AI. And I was horrified.
I was like, have you listened to nothing I've ever said? Have you listened to nothing?

Speaker 1 Why would I ever disrespect this couple that way? You know, AI, you think AI knows my best friend like I do? Like, what, dude? No.

Speaker 1 God. So I, but then I, so it's essentially just be kind of became, this sounds weird, but my own AI.
I did all kinds of research. I, I was watching all the videos.
I was reading all the scripts.

Speaker 1 I've been to one and a half weddings. Truly.
So like of all people to choose to do a wedding, I'm like, oh, the bitch that's never really been to a wedding. Okay, cool.

Speaker 1 The amount of random people's wedding ceremonies I watched on YouTube over the past year, you know, I basically just pulled all the most beautiful bits I could find that I really resonated with, that resonated with me for the couple getting married.

Speaker 1 And I made a flow from there. I asked other people that have officiated.
I got lots of great advice. So I went into, like, this was my game day.
For real. I went up there and I performed and I served.

Speaker 1 And I think it went,

Speaker 1 I think, I know it went well. People complimented me.
They said like they've been to a lot of weddings and that was one of the best they've heard and they really enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 So that was a big weight off of my chest.

Speaker 1 But the whole priest collar thing is I did have a little bit of a running gag, a little prank where I showed up the morning of for hair and makeup, because I was also a bridesmaid with one of the like priest collars on with the white bit here.

Speaker 1 And everyone just thought it was so funny. They loved it.
And I said, showing up to officiate my best friend's wedding.

Speaker 1 And actually, Rachel Samples just commented on the video and she said, as you two are committed to each other, you two are as committed to each other as I am to the bit. And I love that.

Speaker 1 I think that's what I was. I was.
I was committed to the bit. So thank you, Rachel.
Would you, would either of you two ever want to officiate a friend's wedding?

Speaker 1 I would,

Speaker 1 but

Speaker 1 that does sound like a lot of pressure. And I think

Speaker 1 I'd rather look pretty, I think. And just hop.
And just stand there. Right, right.
You know,

Speaker 1 I don't want to officiate either of your weddings. Right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 No. Make me stand next to you.

Speaker 1 On the other side, though.

Speaker 1 But I would do it for a friend. However, what if, Olivia, you did such a good job that now you're always going to get asked to do it? Ooh, maybe that becomes your thing.

Speaker 1 The more you do it, I mean, my rate's going to be insane. Nobody can even skyrocket.
Right. So after the compliments I got, I don't know.
I was nervous though.

Speaker 1 Like all, obviously the weeks, the weeks and months leading up to it, I had been shaking in my boots. And then day of, I was just oddly calm.
I was like, let's do it. Like it's game time, baby.

Speaker 1 I was just, you know, rereading my thing. So I just kind of had the night, right pacing and kind of slowness and timing and whatnot.

Speaker 1 But it wasn't until I walked down that aisle and I was stood up there alone and I started reading because before the rest of the processional came, it was just me.

Speaker 1 It's like, like when you read in church for the first time or like when you read in the front of the class for the first time, all of a sudden I was like, oh, something stuck here.

Speaker 1 And I'm like, and then luckily, I got the first bits there. Luckily, as the processional was happening, I was able to step away from the microphone and be like,

Speaker 1 like, get it out. It's good.
Let's go. It's game time.
Yeah. And so that was good.

Speaker 1 I think my favorite line, I had a couple of favorite lines in it, but when I pronounced them husband and wife, I saw this beautiful thing where, you know, it's by the power vested in me, yada, yada, yada.

Speaker 1 I said, by the power of your love.

Speaker 1 Oh, no, I said, said, by the strength of your love and the power vested in me. I loved that because it's like, it's your guys' love that is done that is doing this today.

Speaker 1 I just got this on the internet, this, this license. This is your, your love is a real thing.

Speaker 1 I met somebody else who apparently got ordained into the same like church that I did. And they're like, in about a year, you're going to start getting emails asking how your.

Speaker 1 ministry is. I'm like, okay, noted.
So if you guys want to join my ministry, I'll be your minister. Just let me know.
We are, Olivia is open for business.

Speaker 1 If you are getting married and you would like a hot, sexy minister

Speaker 1 to preside over you, she's ready. Matter of fact, by your heads.
Matter of fact, by your heads.

Speaker 1 All right, team. Today's fun little segment we are calling the House of Award shows.
So welcome. Come on in.
Let's discuss some of our favorite moments in award show history.

Speaker 1 No award show will be be left out. We'll talk about anything.
Anything that we want to talk about. Anything that we want to talk about specifically that we really like.

Speaker 1 I think so much of culture is built from the moments that happen at award shows.

Speaker 1 Like some of the things in pop culture that stick out the most like prominently, I think have come from award shows, among other things.

Speaker 1 JLo's deep V dress at the, you know, did you know that that dress actually was like the catalyst for

Speaker 1 Google images? Google images? Yeah. Cause when she wore that dress.
Sorry, Dre, was that a stupid thing to say?

Speaker 1 It's just everything, everybody knows it. Oh, do they?

Speaker 1 Yeah. And that's why she references it a bunch.
Oh, I didn't know that. That's right.
All right, guys. I thought that was fun and exciting.

Speaker 1 Way to take your thunder, Adriana. She thought she was on something with that.
I thought that was fun and exciting news. I bet I'm not the only person.
Hello.

Speaker 1 Sorry, I've been talking a lot.

Speaker 1 Keep going.

Speaker 1 Well,

Speaker 1 I have a niche one. Hey,

Speaker 1 I can rewatch over and over again whenever

Speaker 1 Tina Faye and Amy Poehler host an award show.

Speaker 1 Meryl Streep is not here tonight. She has the flu, and I hear she's amazing in it.

Speaker 1 I've watched their sketches multiple times on YouTube. Genuinely, my sisters will know.
I love it. I think they are so funny.
They host with such like...

Speaker 1 you know, they make fun of, but not like over the edge or anything. It's like funny stuff that you'd make fun of a friend with.
I think they just killed it.

Speaker 1 I love also sometimes like Will Farrell when he presents with like Kristen Wig.

Speaker 1 Great stuff. I just, I think that they do a great job.
And again, Espies, that is what you would get with me.

Speaker 1 This is just an Espys hosting campaign episode now. Will Farrell and Kristen

Speaker 1 Wig, I quote all the time and nobody gets it. You

Speaker 1 get out of here.

Speaker 1 And she says, you, you, you, you, you, get out of here.

Speaker 1 Do you know that you know what I'm talking about? I do that all the time and nobody understands it. I just feel like an idiot, but they are class acts.

Speaker 1 And Tina and Amy did like two years in a row, right? Yes, they did. They were so energy like that.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yes.

Speaker 1 Speaking of Amy and Tina, my favorite bit of theirs is when they were both nominated for Best Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series or something. And one by one, they all came up on stage.

Speaker 1 And all the other actresses who were nominated as well, like it was Melissa McCarthy, pageant.

Speaker 1 I think it was like the nurse from Nurse Jackie, maybe.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 Like that is just, it just pokes such good fun. Yeah.
Amy Poehler was the one who started off. She ran up there and then everyone's like, what's happening? And then everyone else went up there.

Speaker 1 I thought it was so great. That was really cool.

Speaker 1 And then Melissa McCarthy goes, Melissa McCarthy goes after she won. She's like, this is my best and first pageant ever.

Speaker 1 And that's girlhood. And that's on support.
And all the women up there were so excited for her when she won, too. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Like, you know, at pageants, they're happy for you, but they're actually like, yeah, but you're trying to win too.

Speaker 1 Whereas all the women there were so excited for Melissa McCarthy as she accepted that award. And her level of surprise made it what it was.

Speaker 1 Alona, you've actually not, the Esmes was not the first time you've presented at an award show. You presented at the Emmys this year.

Speaker 1 I barely. Yeah, I just kind of walked out looking pretty, I guess.

Speaker 1 You did a great job. Thank you.
Yeah, I know I killed that, but I'm ready to speak and to read off of a teleprompter. So it was easy for me to walk out look pretty.
I want to do more. Okay, Espes,

Speaker 1 please, please listen. Lock in here, Espes.
Please.

Speaker 1 Please. Espes, if you can hear us.
Espes, if you can hear us right now. Actually, studies show Espes that one more out of more shows increase viewership by 110%.

Speaker 1 That actually is real. You know what? Take back what I said about studies.
That is real.

Speaker 1 You can't take that back when that's convenient to you, low. It just doesn't work that way.
Dre, do you have a favorite

Speaker 1 award show moment? Like I had one for you, but man, I don't know if it is actually your favorite.

Speaker 1 Fifth Harmony performing, I want to say the Grammys. Are you sure?

Speaker 1 After Camilla left and they showed up backlit with five of them, right?

Speaker 1 And all of a sudden the person in the middle got pulled back.

Speaker 1 I have a lot to say here. First of all,

Speaker 1 it is Camila. Camila.

Speaker 1 That's what I'm talking about. Yeah.

Speaker 1 And I believe it was the MTV. Was it MTV?

Speaker 1 That feels MTV. That doesn't feel Grammys.

Speaker 1 But everyone was like, that was so rude of them. Like, yada, yada.
But I was like, well, if we want to get poetic,

Speaker 1 they didn't push the fifth body off the stage. That fifth body flung themselves.
Camila left the band. They didn't force force her out.
So she, it was,

Speaker 1 and at that time, I remember I was so deep into it that, like, and Camila was like making these like remarks here and there.

Speaker 1 And it was like, it felt like I was like, yeah, it's your guys's turn to say something or do something about it and not just like letting it be.

Speaker 1 So I kind of ate it up. Deep.

Speaker 1 But I

Speaker 1 Fifth Harmony had awards shows, that was also always so special. Because you're like, you just look at how they're dressed and stuff, and you're like,

Speaker 1 okay, are you dressed individually? Are you dressed as a group?

Speaker 1 There's always the stylist always has a favorite.

Speaker 1 But again, I was eating that up. I was like, Justice for Dinah.
Like, you guys aren't appreciating that outfit enough. Yeah, I had a Twitter account so I could vote for them.

Speaker 1 What about did you? Like a hidden Twitter account? Yeah, because I was not, I don't have to do hashtag Fifth Harmony MTV awards on my personal. Right.
I was an embarrassed 15-year-old.

Speaker 1 I made a separate account.

Speaker 1 Our strongest soldier, Fifth Harmony's strongest soldier, for real, right here.

Speaker 1 Most of my friends love to watch award shows, and I often get dragged into it. And award shows are just so long and unnecessary sometimes that I just appreciate seeing the clips afterwards.
Yeah,

Speaker 1 that's my cup of tea. Highlight reels, for real.
Highlight reels are the best part of award shows. And that's house of award shows.
Thank you for listening.

Speaker 1 I swear I blinked and summer is pretty much halfway over and yet there's still enough time for a little summer bedroom wakeover from Wayfair.

Speaker 1 There's something about the light and the air rolling into my room this time of year that makes me want to give it a refresh. So now I'm getting all cozy in my new light green

Speaker 1 duvet set.

Speaker 1 Not to brag, but it's perfect. The thing about our mom is she doesn't like just like basic bland stuff.
Like she's not a beige mom.

Speaker 1 So she would go to the Netherlands and she'd bring us back these like brightly covered duvet covers.

Speaker 1 So when I was looking on Wayfair, I wanted to find like the brightest, most colorful thing and they had amazing options. And I felt like I was getting my little gift from my mama again.

Speaker 1 I did just order the eBurn Designs Terra Accent Lamp from Wayfair. Plus Wayfair has fast and easy delivery, so it's going to be coming right away.

Speaker 1 Wayfair has such a huge selection of everything you would need to give any room in the house a perfect end of summer refresh, whether it's home decor or bedding or kitchen essentials, Wayfair has it all.

Speaker 1 It's so convenient knowing I can find everything I would ever need on one site. And you best believe I am constantly adding to my cart.
Get organized, refreshed, and back to routine for way less.

Speaker 1 Head to Wayfair.com right now to shop all things home. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com.
Wayfair, every style, every home. Let's head on over to the book nook.

Speaker 1 Any of you guys read The Love Hypothesis? I did. I did.

Speaker 1 I didn't, but it's our shit now.

Speaker 1 After this big announcement, I should. So I just saw that they were going to be making a movie.
Well, I saw a TikTok of them, like, you know, my name is Min Snap.

Speaker 1 And it's Lily Reinhart and Tom Bateman who are going to play the characters here in the Love Hypothesis. I've read a lot of her books.

Speaker 1 And she's the one who also writes Bride, which you all know I love that one.

Speaker 1 And she's recently reread.

Speaker 1 I recently remember.

Speaker 1 Adrana, is Love Hypothesis the one where he's the teacher? Is this the fake dating one? This is the fake dating. This is the Kylo Wren fan fiction turned traditionally published book.
Huh?

Speaker 1 Oh, really? It's Star Wars fan fiction. Yeah, if you look at the cover, that's Adam Driver.

Speaker 1 And that's Daisy Ridley.

Speaker 1 I also,

Speaker 1 a huge part of this, Tom Bateman is Daisy's husband.

Speaker 1 When I saw the announcement video of them doing the handshaking trend, she, or just her like highlighting something in the love hypothesis book, and then she like looks to the camera.

Speaker 1 So both videos that revealed their casting as these characters, she is looking so demure and just like.

Speaker 1 I was like, What's going on right now? I was like, Oh, that must be what her character's like. Is that what she's doing? Is she leaning into already? Is she method active already for these TikToks?

Speaker 1 I don't, I'd have to read again, but her character is kind of like, What Ajana? Why did they fake date again?

Speaker 1 Oh, don't give it away, but look into my eyes and tell me that way.

Speaker 1 Hold on, guys,

Speaker 1 right right she got it okay yep i remember now

Speaker 1 me too we didn't spoil that um

Speaker 1 yeah

Speaker 1 but like so in the book

Speaker 1 she's a a phd student i believe and he's like a full he's the professor he's a professor but they're but she's a graduate student he's a professor they're not in the same like he's not her professor though let's make he's not in position of power no not in position power over her he's no hr department needs to be involved well actually probably should be involved oh same university god you're boring adriana sorry that's hot i'm saying it could still probably happen but you got to let hr

Speaker 1 like you got to make them aware do let somebody know

Speaker 1 um and then they're different oh what is it interesting i'll let you read it it's fun but have you read her other books yeah i've read bride of course. No, not Bride, but like her other ones.

Speaker 1 She loves the science-y books.

Speaker 1 She loves it. She's a niche.
I've done it. I'm starting to listen to that one.
I finished it. I finished Not in Love.
You did. The listening book.
Which was fine.

Speaker 1 And then I tried Deep End, which I think was her first like sport venture, sport book venture. And that was a weird talked about.

Speaker 1 It wasn't for me, which is funny because like Loved Bride, Not in Love was fun. I think I'll do Love Hypothesis next.
I think it's on my bookshelf. I keep looking over there.
I think I bought it.

Speaker 1 But I'm finishing Atmosphere right now by Taylor Jenkins Reed, and it's

Speaker 1 so good.

Speaker 1 Oh, okay.

Speaker 1 It's so good. So once I'm done with that, I will get into Love Hypothesis.
Perfect, perfect, perfect. I heard a little rumor that the director of Set It Up, the Glenn Powell, and

Speaker 1 who's that Nepo baby? I really like Zoe Dutch.

Speaker 1 Deutsch. Deutsch.

Speaker 1 So the director of Set It Up, I think, is directing this one too. Okay, cool.
That was pretty cool. I have high hopes.
I love Set It Up.

Speaker 1 I was just talking to Dad and he was like, can I say something about that movie star guy? I was like, absolutely. Which one? Glenn Powell? He's like, I don't get it.
I don't see him as the Hollywood,

Speaker 1 like, you know, movie star man type. I just don't see it.
I was like, do you see a copybar?

Speaker 1 Is that what you see instead? You guys know that meme? Yeah.

Speaker 1 Okay, cool. Jesus Christ, you scared me there.
Um, but dad, so dad's not understanding the Glenn Powell vibe, whereas I get it. I love him.
I think it works.

Speaker 1 I can kind of hear what you're saying, but hmm. Glenn is in his bag these days.
Like, he is doing project after project. Heard, good for him.
Sorry.

Speaker 1 I was just, I was seeing all the ads for Superman and I was like, who is this man? I was like, this man is so hot. And then I was like, I was on TikTok and I was like, it's the hot guy from Twisters.

Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah. It's the hot evil scientist.
And even during Twisters, I was like,

Speaker 1 I spotted that. Hood in a bag.

Speaker 1 True. I just saw a girl's TikTok that she was like, the existence of, what's his name? His last name is like Wetsworth or something.
The guy playing Superman. Who's Superman? David Cornsweat.

Speaker 1 Cornsweat? Cornstream. Olivia, you got

Speaker 1 You had names today, dude. What is going on?

Speaker 1 Cornsweat.

Speaker 1 Sorry.

Speaker 1 A girl on TikTok was saying that the existence of David Cornsweat implies the existence of another list of men that were just as hot with kind eyes, beautifully built, over six feet, who could be Superman.

Speaker 1 That didn't make the cut. We need access to that list.
We got to find who else was on that long or short list. Good point.
You know who, the guy who played Luther actually in Superman, who was the

Speaker 1 from the great Nicholas Holt, he was in the running for Superman, to which I said.

Speaker 1 What?

Speaker 1 Nicholas Holt. Nicholas Holt was in the running to be Superman.
Much love to Nicholas Holt.

Speaker 1 That's his different vibe. Attractive, not Superman, though.
Not Superman.

Speaker 1 I also heard that Mr. David

Speaker 1 Corinsweat

Speaker 1 tells people he's 6'4, but he's actually 6'5 ⁇ , because he's too tall. So he dumbs it down.
What? God, that's the hottest thing I've ever heard. That's the hottest thing I've ever heard.
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 I don't know if that's true, but a study showed that. No.

Speaker 1 Dang.

Speaker 1 Well, shoot, everyone. Get out there, read a book, and also watch a movie.
And don't listen to what bogus studies say, okay?

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 You heard it your first. And also, SPs, let alone a host.

Speaker 1 Let alone a host.

Speaker 1 Thanks so much for coming over to The House of Mar, a Wave Original. Please be sure to watch and subscribe on YouTube and listen wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 Plus, follow the show on social media at House of Marr for clips and behind-the-scenes content. Okay, bye.

Speaker 1 Studies show that House of Mar viewers are very

Speaker 1 good. Get out of here.
They're leaving you, John. Let them go.

Speaker 1 giving up for that.

Speaker 1 Give me the
