Speaker 4 Amy Riley, welcome to Cat on the Loose. Oh Oh my goodness, thank you! And people always ask me, why is Cat on the Loose an organic podcast?

Speaker 4 And this is exactly why we take the podcast out of the studios today into the kitchen since you are a fabulous cookbook writer and you write the sexiest cookbooks I've ever seen in my life.

Speaker 4 So today we're going to talk about how to cook with aphrodisiac ingredients, right, Amy? Yes. And how to make romantic meals and all that good stuff.

Speaker 4 So before we get started with Amy, let me explain where we are. We are in this fabulous kitchen at the house of a dear friend of mine, Nicholas Highlander, who is a very, very talented opera singer.

Speaker 2 Can you guys believe that?

Speaker 2 Oh, hi. Thanks for letting us do that at your house.
What a surprise. We had no idea you were here.
I don't know.

Speaker 4 So join us, join us, join us.

Speaker 4 Nicholas is married to a dear friend of mine, Natalie, who, by the way, does my hair. So it's like we're all in a campaign.

Speaker 2 It's family.

Speaker 4 Yeah, it's family. So let's say Nicholas wants to cook a fantastic romantic meal for Natalie.
Let's start with that.

Speaker 6 So we just had a crazy fight.

Speaker 6 She's Latina, just to add to that. So it's a little...

Speaker 5 She's spicy.

Speaker 6 She's spicy as it is without the food being just bland, right? I can make bland food and she makes it spicy with her attitude. So what I want to do is to appease her,

Speaker 6 which obviously, you know, we like to do it in the primal way, you know. Perfect.

Speaker 6 But even though huffing and puffing may be my forte,

Speaker 6 cooking very good

Speaker 6 spicy food perhaps is not. Especially if it's organic.
So if you can give me a little pointers and stuff.

Speaker 4 And we all love to cook.

Speaker 6 We all love to cook.

Speaker 2 I love chacuk.

Speaker 4 So let's start from the get-go. You told me to bring a few ingredients that you said are considered aphrodisiac.

Speaker 4 So can you first, like for people that don't know your work and don't know your fabulous book, can you explain a little bit about why these ingredients are considered aphrodisiac?

Speaker 2 I'd love to.

Speaker 5 So first of all, I picked out ingredients.

Speaker 5 Some that are particularly good for men's sexual health and some that are very good for women's sexual health

Speaker 5 and some that are just good for seducing someone.

Speaker 2 Oh, now

Speaker 5 we've got this really nice combination of ingredients here, as you can see, and they're all natural, healthy things.

Speaker 6 So, what is Afro? I know it's something with Africa.

Speaker 6 Is that the origin of it?

Speaker 5 Nope, it's Aphrodite.

Speaker 6 Aphrodite,

Speaker 2 I like that.

Speaker 6 So, where does it get the name? It's like the goddess, it implies sexuality.

Speaker 5 So, it is, yes, so it is supposed to be foods that increase sexual desire and sexual performance.

Speaker 5 And the word stems from Aphrodite, the Greek goddess.

Speaker 4 Oh, I like that.

Speaker 5 So it encompasses not only desire, but also a little romance there and Aphrodite in the mix, right?

Speaker 2 I'm obviously.

Speaker 5 So I have a website called eatsomethingsexy.com. And on that website, I have a list of the 10 best foods for men and the 10 best foods for women.

Speaker 5 And I picked a couple of ingredients from each list so that you're not only having this romantic dinner, but you're eating foods foods that are going to support your libido, they're going to support your sexual performance.

Speaker 5 Our main course is going to be salmon as you can see.

Speaker 4 Okay, so let's talk about the salmon. Why is salmon considered an aphrodisiac? I love salmon.
We all know that it's one of the healthiest things we can all eat.

Speaker 4 It was right on Nicola's refrigerator. I eat it all the time.
But why is it considered aphrodisiac?

Speaker 5 So salmon is continuous. Well, first of all, Aphrodite, since we were talking about her, she was supposed to have

Speaker 5 come to the shore from the ocean, and that's how she first appeared.

Speaker 5 And so all seafoods are therefore associated with Aphrodite, which is

Speaker 6 no, I have no idea.

Speaker 4 So in ancient Greece, salmon looks sexy.

Speaker 5 Yeah, in ancient Greece, all seafood was considered sexy food.

Speaker 5 And to be quite honest, now that we know a lot more about nutritional science, we can say, hey, you know, these Greeks were onto something because salmon is a great source of protein.

Speaker 5 It's a superior, when it comes to your libido, it's a superior source of protein to red meat.

Speaker 5 And that is because the protein is more accessible. It's easier to digest.
It has less fat. So you're getting this high-quality source of protein.

Speaker 5 Now, protein, you might think, well, I need it for exercise, but

Speaker 2 hello. Yeah.
Sax is exercise. Yes.

Speaker 5 So you need it. You need that protein.
Yeah. So that's important.

Speaker 4 Yes.

Speaker 5 It's also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids.

Speaker 5 And there aren't a lot of good sources of omega-3 fatty acids, but they're essential to our brains.

Speaker 5 We become more creative lovers. We're better thinkers.

Speaker 5 They're also associated with improved mood. And I can tell you from my own experience, when my husband's a little grumpy,

Speaker 5 I start giving him foods with omega-3s. I really do this.

Speaker 5 And honestly, within within like a day, it turns him around. It's amazing.

Speaker 5 Interesting. You got someone in the world.
Coming in your life?

Speaker 2 Try it. Omega-3s.

Speaker 2 Chove salmon. There you go.
Omega-3s.

Speaker 4 Now, let's,

Speaker 4 I mean, chocolate, I don't know why, but I agree. I think chocolate is very sensual, right? The whole doesn't like chocolate.

Speaker 2 Like in the movie, chocolate, which is a music.

Speaker 4 Right, chocolate is super, super sexy.

Speaker 5 It is, it is. And so, so we moved on.
Main course, dessert. Yeah.

Speaker 4 Oh, okay. Yeah, I skipped everything else.

Speaker 5 We hit the important points.

Speaker 4 We hit the important ones.

Speaker 5 So, chocolate is.

Speaker 4 Sorry, but you specifically said dark chocolate.

Speaker 5 Yes, so we do need to talk about that.

Speaker 5 So, not all chocolate is created equal, right? We've been hearing this for a while that we're encouraged to eat dark chocolate, not necessarily milk chocolate.

Speaker 5 And that's because there's more chocolate in dark chocolate. There's more cacao.
It's a higher, because you'll see a percentage of cacao.

Speaker 2 Let's have a little volume.

Speaker 2 Oh, please.

Speaker 5 When you're having dark chocolate, you might see that on the label of a bar. Oh, she's really into her dark chocolate.

Speaker 2 Oh, man.

Speaker 6 Too bad my wife's not here.

Speaker 2 I know.

Speaker 4 Natalie is kind of shy.

Speaker 6 She might give you a free pass today.

Speaker 2 But we're going to lose the food.

Speaker 4 But you're going to get her. The better news is, Nicolas, you're going to have all this sexy dinner for us.

Speaker 2 Wow.

Speaker 5 So dark chocolate. So darker the better.
Dark chocolate.

Speaker 5 This actually makes my list of the 10 best foods for women's sexual health.

Speaker 5 As well as being an incredibly sexy, sensual, experiential kind of food.

Speaker 5 It's loaded with antioxidants.

Speaker 4 And it tastes so good. Right?

Speaker 5 And this is the really crazy part.

Speaker 6 So what's an antioxidant? I hear that so, you know, people trope using it.

Speaker 5 So they fight what's called free radicals in our body. And basically,

Speaker 5 the simple way to say it is they

Speaker 5 stop these things that are kind of aging us,

Speaker 5 that are aging both internally and externally. You know, they're aging our skin, they're aging our appearance, but they're also aging our heart.

Speaker 2 And

Speaker 5 we talk about, when we talk about apartes, we have to talk about heart health, believe it or not. We think it's all about down here,

Speaker 5 but it's about circulation, you know, right?

Speaker 5 And so you need heart health in order to have sexual health. You need heart health, you need good circulation, you can't experience an orgasm without

Speaker 5 good blood flow. Therefore, antioxidants are important for you.

Speaker 2 I've hoped for go see his face in the video episode.

Speaker 6 I'm like having a video.

Speaker 4 Natalie, if you're listening, you better be ready when you come home tonight because Nicholas is going to be on the bottom.

Speaker 2 I'm coming home, baby. Yes.

Speaker 4 So, okay, but it has to be dark chocolate. You emphasize

Speaker 4 chocolate. Because all of this stuff is sugar.

Speaker 5 It's a lot of milk and sugar, and you don't need to.

Speaker 4 And by the way, it tastes insane because it tastes so rich. Yeah, I put it.

Speaker 2 I don't like coffee.

Speaker 6 I've always been an advocate of adding a little pinch of coffee. I'm into it.

Speaker 2 I'm into it.

Speaker 5 I love it. Do you know, coffee is also considered aphrodisiac.
And it's one of my favorite things when I'm helping people plan a romantic meal.

Speaker 5 I will, if they like coffee, I will suggest ending with coffee. And they'll say, but then I won't go to sleep.
Exactly.

Speaker 6 Because you don't need the sleep.

Speaker 2 Right.

Speaker 4 Stay up all night.

Speaker 5 Yeah, and have some activities to yes, you have plans, you need a guess, but also, um, coffee is a mood enhancer. Did you ever notice that?

Speaker 4 No, I did not.

Speaker 2 Mood enhancer. I mean, for sex,

Speaker 4 you cool just yelling with the coffee.

Speaker 6 I don't know if people are not familiar with coffee, this is how it looks like. I don't know.

Speaker 2 Can you get in here? The grains, yeah.

Speaker 6 And it smells the aroma.

Speaker 4 It smells insane, yeah.

Speaker 6 You know, it kind of smells like a very nice coffee.

Speaker 7 I do the same. I drink my own coffee fresh every morning.

Speaker 4 So, yeah, I love it. I mean, I'm from Brazil.
I'm obsessed with that.

Speaker 2 Oh, that's true. Wow.

Speaker 6 You guys are like the main hub.

Speaker 2 Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6 No wonder all the Brazilian chicks are like, you know, have a reputation here.

Speaker 2 It is true. It is true.
It is true.

Speaker 5 Now he's putting it all together. I got it, I got it.

Speaker 4 So moving on, because we have so many things!

Speaker 4 I gotta ask you about the peanuts. I'm not a huge peanut fan, but I know, but whatever.
But why are peanuts a Frodisiac?

Speaker 5 So this also makes my list of foods for women.

Speaker 2 Oh, really? Yeah,

Speaker 5 peanuts are good for,

Speaker 5 if women who are looking to conceive, it's good for fertility.

Speaker 4 Oh, really?

Speaker 5 But also, peanuts are a nice source of protein, a plant-based source of protein, which is becoming more popular. We're trying to limit our meats.
So, peanuts are a great choice for that.

Speaker 5 And I always get in peanut butter, peanut butter works too, peanut flour.

Speaker 5 You can use peanut flour in your baking, and then you're getting a little protein and peanut flavor.

Speaker 2 How about peanut oil?

Speaker 4 But what if you don't want to conceive?

Speaker 6 No, not so much.

Speaker 4 What if you don't want to conceive?

Speaker 2 You can still eat peanuts.

Speaker 5 And

Speaker 5 my favorite thing about peanuts, and the reason I always say it's definitely

Speaker 5 the woman's aphrodisiac, is because, did you know, if you take peanut butter and put it in a high-pressure lab, like put a lot of high, high-pressure on it, you'll get diamonds. Oh, wow.

Speaker 5 Peanut butter turns into diamonds.

Speaker 2 Diamonds always.

Speaker 2 Wow.

Speaker 4 Wow. That's a nuance.

Speaker 5 That's my favorite thing about peanuts.

Speaker 6 You can eat your jewelry.

Speaker 2 That's amazing.

Speaker 2 I never heard of that.

Speaker 6 I heard if you want to stay away from conceiving, you'd have to stay away from peanuts. I mean, peanuts.

Speaker 4 Yeah, naplas, sure. Now, you told me to buy chili peppers.
I didn't find fresh ones, but I do bring...

Speaker 2 I have chili peppers.

Speaker 4 I do bring diced green chilies. I think they're too spicy.
I don't eat them, but

Speaker 4 so let's say you're saying they are for dessert. But honestly, let's say somebody's cooking me a sexy meal.
so that's a tough question.

Speaker 4 If they put oh, yeah, that's a nice big chili pepper,

Speaker 6 and this one is erect, so it's right, yeah,

Speaker 4 but so that's a tough question. I understand maybe this is a fordisiac, but if somebody's cooking for me and they put a chili pepper on my meal, that's the end of me

Speaker 4 because I cannot have spicy

Speaker 4 my mouth is gonna be on fuego, I'm gonna be feeling sick, I'm not gonna be in the mood for anything.

Speaker 5 This is something that's really important for everyone everyone to keep in mind when you're cooking a romantic meal i always say i can't i can't name you one meal that's gonna be right for everyone right the most important part of planning a romantic meal is considering the other person's preferences

Speaker 5 really that's gonna go a lot further than whatever aphrodisiacs you put on the plate honestly and so if it's someone who doesn't like chilies

Speaker 2 Don't put chili chilies.

Speaker 4 So you should ask the person first.

Speaker 5 Yes, you need to know a little bit about them. Don't give them oysters if they don't like oysters.

Speaker 2 Don't give them chilies.

Speaker 4 Exactly. So you should be considerate and say, by the way, are you allergic to peanuts or do you like spicy?

Speaker 4 Don't chop up like a whole chili on the person's food without making sure that they're okay with it.

Speaker 5 Now, if you are okay with it, this is one of the best date foods.

Speaker 2 Chilies are.

Speaker 5 They raise your body temperature.

Speaker 5 Okay, they warm you up a little. You're a little more ready to tear off your clothing.

Speaker 5 But they also make your lips tingle and plump a little bit, so you look a little more kissable. You look a little more sexy.

Speaker 4 We don't need that.

Speaker 2 We have a very plump lip despite it.

Speaker 2 I can use it.

Speaker 5 I don't like chili very much, but I can use that part of it.

Speaker 2 I need lip reduction here.

Speaker 2 A nice, plump, pillowy, kiss-me-lips.

Speaker 6 Yeah, it saves some money on Botox. I mean, like, yeah,

Speaker 2 yes, yes.

Speaker 5 And then the last thing, a lot of psychologists say that,

Speaker 5 you know, how it will, you'll kind of get flushed if you eat a lot of chili. Yeah.
That to someone who's attracted to you, in their mind, it will kind of equate to a sexual flush.

Speaker 2 And

Speaker 5 turned on by looking at you when you have these punk lips.

Speaker 2 Yeah, it gives you that vibrant, more like

Speaker 2 vivacious

Speaker 2 healthy glow.

Speaker 4 And Amy, you said chili, but does that go for other

Speaker 4 peppers or specifically chili chili?

Speaker 6 You know, it kind of resonates with the fact that we look at Latin lovers, Italian bed, you know,

Speaker 6 like the European people who eat very bland, they're not known for their sexual, you know, virility.

Speaker 2 Like the British people.

Speaker 4 Sorry, British people.

Speaker 2 Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 Bland diets into

Speaker 2 bland bedrooms.

Speaker 5 No, not necessarily.

Speaker 2 But there could be a corpus. But it is true.

Speaker 4 If you talk about the Haudenosaunee cultures, they are great. I think food is

Speaker 4 very,

Speaker 4 it's a sexual language.

Speaker 4 Yes. I definitely think it's a way of showing love.

Speaker 4 It's a way of communicating. And it's true.
Like, if you think about the hottest cultures, Italians, French, Brazilians.

Speaker 6 African.

Speaker 4 Yeah, Africans. They spend a lot of time.
in the kitchen and they show a lot of flavors.

Speaker 6 They are very spicy.

Speaker 2 I had African food in the world.

Speaker 6 So maybe that has a lot to do with, yeah, with the and by the way, just notice that coffee also, like you say, comes from Latin America and also from Africa. So, those two countries are pretty dumb.

Speaker 2 And I'm like staring at the chocolate like a kid. I'm like,

Speaker 6 this is a big epiphany here.

Speaker 5 We'll just keep passing it to you.

Speaker 2 Oh, my God.

Speaker 4 And you're gonna cook with the chocolate.

Speaker 5 So, yes, far with the whole chocolate.

Speaker 4 Yes, okay. The fruits.
The fruits. You said pineapple.
Pineapple. I love pineapple.
I always, before you today,

Speaker 4 I always associated pineapple with losing weight because I learned that, like, for example, after you drink on a weekend, I learned like if you want to flush your body, you drink like pineapple, asparagus, mint juice on Monday.

Speaker 4 It's a great detox to flush.

Speaker 5 Now, I've never heard of it with asparagus. That's

Speaker 2 asparagus. I heard a lot of

Speaker 2 fabulous detox.

Speaker 6 It increases semen.

Speaker 4 Yeah, it's a fabulous detox juice.

Speaker 2 Okay, I know.

Speaker 5 I'm stuttering.

Speaker 4 I'm like, no, it doesn't taste great. I know it's disgusting.
Let's take a really quick break and talk about a very easy, quick fix for a problem that a lot of us have: super tired eyes.

Speaker 4 If you're crazy busy like me, some days there is no amount of makeup in the world that can hide your tired eyes.

Speaker 4 And this is why I partnered with Marie, Marine Collagen Eye Gels, and Collagen Facial Masks.

Speaker 4 Dermatologist recommended with hyaluronic acid and pearl extract, a professional treatment for puffy eyes, dark circles, and eye bags.

Speaker 4 Marie M A R E eye gels are a fast and delicate fix for tired eyes. I love them.
They're suitable for all skin types and also exfoliate tired skin.

Speaker 4 This is why I like them because some days, especially after long, long, long hectic work schedules, right? I wake up and my eyes are so puffy.

Speaker 4 I look at myself in the mirror, like, oh my god, what am I gonna do? You put them on for a few minutes, and they depuff your skin so fast.

Speaker 4 You can get yours right now on Amazon or right on their website, imarie.com, I am as in Mary, A-R-E-E dot com, professional treatment for dark circles, bags under your eyes, super fast dermatologists tested for all skin types.

Speaker 4 I absolutely love them.

Speaker 4 And this one is for everyone that loves to play poker and is planning a trip to Las Vegas. I just came back from Las Vegas.

Speaker 4 I found out about this and I want to share with you guys because I had so much fun.

Speaker 4 I'm inviting you to go check out the most fun, most private poker game in town held right inside Aria's Resort VIP poker room. It's called Table One,

Speaker 4 and I love the name, and it's very fitting because this is the most exclusive, hottest poker table in town right now.

Speaker 4 Even if you're not that into poker or new to the game and want to try it out, this is a great opportunity to network with businessmen, athletes, and celebrities in a super exclusive environment. Mr.

Speaker 4 Beast has played there, Dan Bilzerian has played there, Golf Pearls have played in it. It's like an elite exclusive social club, but also a really, really fun, cool environment.

Speaker 4 And you're going to play Texas, no limit, hold them, and you're going to have so much fun. It's blowing up.
Definitely one of the hottest places in all of Las Vegas right now.

Speaker 4 However, your name needs to be on the list in order for you to gain access.

Speaker 4 So make sure you send me a message if you want to do it through Instagram, Katzamutu, Z-A-M-M-U-T-O, DM there or text me or WhatsApp on 1-310-692-0578 to reserve your seat for priority access.

Speaker 4 And I am going to give you some incredible special comps that are only available to my guests. You guys got to listen to this.

Speaker 4 They will reimburse your ARIA hotel fee for up to $350 for each day you play the game. They will give you private transportation from the airport to the hotel.

Speaker 4 And they will give you access to special airfare deals for business and first-class tickets.

Speaker 4 I mean, these guys will totally roll out the red carpet for you. And you're going to have so much fun.
So, if you're planning a trip to Las Vegas, let me hook you up with table one.

Speaker 4 And you are going to love it. Don't forget, send me a message.
So, when you told me pineapple is an aphrodisia, and I love pineapple, I'm like, okay, sounds good because I like pineapples.

Speaker 4 So, can you explain why it's an aphrodisiac?

Speaker 2 I love talking about pineapple, actually.

Speaker 5 So, the first thing you might have heard, a lot of people, what comes to mind, have you heard the thing about pineapple juice?

Speaker 2 Sure, I have to say.

Speaker 2 Well, I haven't. No, not that.
Well, I have not.

Speaker 2 I'm acquainted with it.

Speaker 5 Supposedly, if a man drinks pineapple juice a few hours before a certain sexual act,

Speaker 5 his semen will taste better.

Speaker 4 It's gonna taste pineapple-ish?

Speaker 5 That's what okay. There's a lot of anecdotal evidence

Speaker 6 for this.

Speaker 4 But what if the Nicole Zitolet is pineapple and I ask Canapa each morning?

Speaker 2 I don't know. Okay, no, I'm sorry.
I'm gonna disappoint you because.

Speaker 4 And I'll test it on you.

Speaker 2 Well, so there's a lot of anecdotal evidence. I'm down to try it out.
Oh, definitely.

Speaker 5 And I do think, you know, when there is anecdotal evidence, it's like, well, there must be something to it. So I've asked a few doctors about it, and most of them theorize that it's really just

Speaker 5 high acidic foods, pineapple and other high acidic foods. Acidity will reduce any bitter flavors.
So that's really what it's all about, probably. It's like, yeah, it actually does mask bitterness.

Speaker 4 But you know, there are supplements.

Speaker 5 So you're not going to taste like pineapple.

Speaker 4 There are supplements for the vagina. Right.

Speaker 4 Yeah. To taste better.

Speaker 2 That's what they're going to do. They're amazing.

Speaker 2 Good news about chocolate.

Speaker 6 Laura, I'm more interested to hear this.

Speaker 5 Chocolate, I forgot to say that.

Speaker 4 Have you guys heard of it?

Speaker 6 I don't as often taste the other part.

Speaker 2 No, it's true.

Speaker 5 One of the good things about chocolate for women is that it balances vaginal pH.

Speaker 2 Oh, really? Yes.

Speaker 4 That's

Speaker 2 the only reason I'm not going to be able to do that. Don't chocolate every day.

Speaker 2 Every day.

Speaker 4 I'm going to incorporate that in my life.

Speaker 6 Now, here's a technical question.

Speaker 6 What if you're,

Speaker 6 you know, you want to get a blow job, but your wife is allergic to nuts?

Speaker 2 That is one of your silly jobs.

Speaker 5 Here I was, I was all like,

Speaker 2 oh, nuts.

Speaker 4 Eat your pineapples.

Speaker 4 Eat your pineapples. Go eat your pineapples.

Speaker 2 No.

Speaker 4 Okay, so the pineapple. The strawberries, I mean, are a given because strawberries are just sexy, right? Strawberries are sexy.

Speaker 5 Oh, yeah. Strawberries are sexy.

Speaker 4 The strawberries are sexy.

Speaker 5 Strawberries are also loaded with antioxidants. Oh, really? And something interesting about both pineapple and strawberries,

Speaker 5 actually, it's not that interesting, but it's sad that people don't think of it. They're loaded with water.

Speaker 4 Oh really? Which is one of the keys. I did not know that.
I used to strawberries every day.

Speaker 5 It's one of the keys to your sex life, is having enough water.

Speaker 5 Wow. Yeah, and you can get it from fruit.
Wow. As well as...

Speaker 6 That's interesting because, you know, I kind of, I don't drink a lot when I'm busy because I don't want to be looking for a place to pee all the time. Oh.
So I'm like, I very much like it.

Speaker 2 So it's important.

Speaker 6 You know, especially if you're like in Manhattan walking around, like, the only two places the pee is like a McDonald's or Starbucks. And it's winter and it's cold.

Speaker 6 By the time you pull it out, you're freezing, you know? So like I tried to reduce water, but I don't want it to affect the water.

Speaker 2 It's so hot.

Speaker 4 You need to do it. But strawberries is something like, I agree.
It's like the more easy dessert. It doesn't make you feel super full.

Speaker 4 It's so romantic.

Speaker 2 I think I'm going to show you what to do with it.

Speaker 4 Now, something we don't have here, but I want to ask you about, how about in terms of like a drink?

Speaker 4 Yeah, like, would you say adding because one of my favorite combinations in the world is like a glass of red wine with chocolate. Okay.

Speaker 4 I think that's super, I don't know if it's aphrodisiac, but I think that's very romantic. It always puts me in the mood.
I think it's sexy. Do you think that helps, or do you think?

Speaker 4 Because I know for a lot of guys, even a glass of wine makes it harder for them to have sex.

Speaker 4 No, usually,

Speaker 2 yeah, eight glasses. is a channel.

Speaker 2 I don't know what, guys, you've been around.

Speaker 2 Apparently, not the best, right?

Speaker 4 Hence, I'm still single.

Speaker 6 But I think one glass, you know, I read it's actually, well, first of all, I think it does have a.

Speaker 6 So this is a personal, this is completely experiential. I have no evidence.
And I probably forgot about this, and it just kind of gave me a flashback in childhood. So there was a direct correlation.

Speaker 6 We would have a Shabbat dinner. They would give wine.

Speaker 2 And when it was a little shabby, but it was enough.

Speaker 6 I got so embarrassed. So I would kind of crawl so they don't see it.
And I would go to the bathroom.

Speaker 2 I would look at them like, what's going on here?

Speaker 6 And it was every Friday night. And I was like, I wonder if this.

Speaker 6 I never shared it. And I wasn't.
I thought maybe I have something going on. And I didn't know that.
That's natural.

Speaker 6 But that was something that was specifically with wine.

Speaker 4 That's fine.

Speaker 2 I don't know why.

Speaker 5 That's really interesting. I mean, wine is considered an aphrodisiac.

Speaker 4 Also it is considered an athrobiac.

Speaker 6 So there is some validation.

Speaker 4 So you don't think it's okay like if you make a romantic fabulous dinner.

Speaker 5 Of course and I also think that the things that you enjoy and you feel are sexy just go with them. Yeah.
You know you don't have to have it validated.

Speaker 5 Like if you find this is sexy there probably is something to it. I mean that's how aphrodisiac started.

Speaker 5 People found something sensual or sexual about foods or food combinations and that's how the whole idea of aphrodisiac started.

Speaker 5 now we have a better understanding that most of it's nutritional yeah turns out we're getting the nutrients we need but um absolutely anything that you think but both of those ingredients are considered aphrodisiac makes sense to me I would actually go with champagne I love champagne

Speaker 2 actually

Speaker 4 Do you guys remember that movie from, and probably a lot of people that listen to this podcast never even watched it, but it's one of my favorite movie scenes ever. Nine and a half weeks

Speaker 4 with Miguel Rourke and Kim Bassy.

Speaker 5 That is one of the most amazing food scenes.

Speaker 2 Yeah, did you watch it? Oh my god.

Speaker 4 And they are like literally in the kitchen, and he blinds her eyes, like he puts something on her eyes, and he's feeding her a bunch of foods. And she has to guess what the foods were.

Speaker 4 And some are delicious,

Speaker 4 and then it's sexy.

Speaker 4 But I thought that was so essential.

Speaker 2 Then he puts on like, whoa, whoa, whoa, what's the problem?

Speaker 4 And it was such a fun game. And of course, then they end up having like this hot and heavy, fabulous sex, like right in the kitchen.

Speaker 4 And I always have that scene in my mind, like how you can transform food into like this fabulous foreplay for sex.

Speaker 5 I mean, in some ways, it kind of changed the kitchen forever. Yes.

Speaker 4 That scene. Yeah.

Speaker 4 Oh, you guys should definitely watch that movie.

Speaker 5 I mean, you can fast forward through a lot of the movie, but a lot is really boring.

Speaker 2 Yes, yes.

Speaker 2 We should remove it.

Speaker 4 It's an old movie, but it's a classic, but that scene is very hot, right? Definitely. So, you have

Speaker 4 the chocolate here, and you are going to show us something that you make with this chocolate

Speaker 4 for like how people eat it, like for essential desserts. So, can you demonstrate?

Speaker 6 Oh my god, I tried this. I just took a chocolate and a fresh bean.

Speaker 2 I don't like to eat the bean.

Speaker 4 I love chocolate.

Speaker 4 So, if you guys are listening to the audio episode, you're welcome to go see the video episode on all my social media platforms and YouTube because Amy's going to demonstrate what she does with the dark chocolate to make it super, super sexy.

Speaker 4 So go for it, Amy.

Speaker 2 Amy, can you pass me the cream? Yes.

Speaker 4 So you get a little bit of heavy cream, so don't be shy, right?

Speaker 4 It's not like we eat heavy cream like every day.

Speaker 5 Now, um you have a double boiler. So I'm using a double boiler.
Yeah. If you don't have one, you can put a metal boil, a metal bowl on top of a pan.
Yeah. And what's in here, I should show you.

Speaker 5 So I've just got water gently simmering.

Speaker 4 Boiling water.

Speaker 5 Yes. Well, it should be simmering, not quite boiling.

Speaker 2 Yeah. You add the cream.
Okay.

Speaker 5 And you're going to wait till the cream simmers so we can turn it up a little. We have to wait.
And when the cream starts to simmer, we'll take it off.

Speaker 5 Off the burner.

Speaker 4 Okay, so you bought, so it's a double boiler, and you put some cream, and you let the cream simmer, and then you're going to put the dark.

Speaker 5 chocolate. And what we're doing is making something called a ganache.

Speaker 6 Ganache. Chocolate ganache.

Speaker 5 Yes, which is basically like chocolate goodness, chocolate sauce, chocolate, whatever. You can do a million things with ganache.
You can roll it, you can let it cool a little, roll it into truffles.

Speaker 2 You can make your own chocolate truffles.

Speaker 5 You can dip strawberries in it, which is what I had in mind for you. That's great.
You can pour it over a chocolate cake instead of, instead of like a buttery, instead of a buttery buttercream.

Speaker 5 Yes, just yes just an intense chocolate topping um so there are a million things you can do with a ganache uh you can just eat it on the spoon frankly and it's literally just cream and dark chocolate cream and dark chocolate and it's and it's so a traditional ganache is half and half so the same amounts of cream and chocolate guys i never thought i would say this but this black friday instead of buying more stuff i don't need i decided to invest in my sex life instead we all know black Friday is about deals, but what would you rather do?

Speaker 5 if you wanted to make truffles sometimes i make it a little thicker a little more chocolate so it's less squishy

Speaker 4 and while we're waiting for the cream to boil i forgot to mention something you had asked me to bring pomegranates which oh yeah i didn't find because it's not seasoned now but i did find we have a picture just to demonstrate just to

Speaker 4 pomegranate flavor dark chocolate but i wanted to ask you about pomegranates why are pomegranates aphrodisia It's a fruit that I do love.

Speaker 4 Every Christmas season when they come out, I eat tons of pomegranates. I just eat the plain fruit.
I love it. Do you like it? I do.
I make fresh, squeezed pomegranate juice at home.

Speaker 5 Oh, well, I can tell you about pomegranate juice. Well, first of all, so pomegranate juice.

Speaker 2 So this is eat one.

Speaker 2 I'll try one shot.

Speaker 4 Just an excuse to eat a pomegranate.

Speaker 6 I just don't like the pits. Is there any pits in here?

Speaker 5 No. No,

Speaker 5 it's got the pomegranates in the center.

Speaker 2 Okay. Yeah.

Speaker 5 So pomegranate, the fruit, first of all, it's low calorie, high nutrient. And these are great foods for us in general, right?

Speaker 5 It's also high in fiber.

Speaker 5 And people always find this weird, but fiber is really important to your sex life.

Speaker 2 Wow.

Speaker 5 I mean, you need to think about it. So you don't want to be bloated.

Speaker 2 You need to move your waste. You don't want to have that balance.

Speaker 5 The waste needs to go through in order to be healthy and in your prime and ready to go. So pomegranate's a great food for that.

Speaker 5 Now, pomegranate juice, oh, and pomegranates, well, as I said, they're very, you know, they're nutrient-rich, they offer a lot of nutrition for your sexual health.

Speaker 5 Pomegranate juice has been studied extensively, and a lot of studies have shown different ways in which it potentially boosts men's sexual performance and sex strive.

Speaker 2 Really?

Speaker 2 Yeah,

Speaker 2 I have to add one thing, though.

Speaker 5 Almost every study on pomegranate juice has been paid for by a pomegranate juice company.

Speaker 6 You sell condos, yeah.

Speaker 2 Yes, exactly.

Speaker 5 But different companies have run similar tests and had the same results. So, I mean, you kind of have to look at who made the study, but at the same time, like these results are real.

Speaker 2 Yeah.

Speaker 4 I heard like a million stories how it's good for men's health, but I had no idea that it's good for

Speaker 4 men's sexual health. But it's hard to find, it's a fruit that it's hard to find, but yeah, I think it's

Speaker 5 great for the heart. Yeah.
Great for both men and women's heart health. Very important.

Speaker 6 And how about just if you buy the extract like 100%? They're expensive. They're like 10 bucks, but I guess it's worth it.

Speaker 5 So I'm into eating Whole Foods, Real Foods.

Speaker 2 Yeah, the real foods.

Speaker 4 Now, Andy, let me ask you your opinion. What do you think about bringing some foods into the bedroom? Like, I know we talked about playing in the kitchen,

Speaker 4 but like, you know, like playing with certain foods in bed.

Speaker 5 Absolutely.

Speaker 5 In my second book,

Speaker 5 over there, Romancing the Stove, I had this whole section.

Speaker 4 On the stove. On venues.

Speaker 5 On venues. Where can you change it up and have this sexy meal? And the bedroom is one of them.
Have a cookmaker in bed. Absolutely.
I mean, don't choose it. If it bothers you,

Speaker 5 if you have a little OCD, don't choose foods with crumbs, right?

Speaker 2 Don't have French water with me.

Speaker 2 What would be your favorite food?

Speaker 4 One ingredient to bring to bed.

Speaker 5 One ingredient to bring to bed.

Speaker 2 I know my edges. We have to choose the one.

Speaker 6 Let's see if we we see it. I know it's right here, but chocolate?

Speaker 2 I was thinking chocolate, yeah.

Speaker 6 Chocolate's a good ingredient. Because you don't have to cook it or cut it.

Speaker 5 Well, and then you red wine and chocolate. That works in that

Speaker 2 fine.

Speaker 4 That does. That's a good activity.
I would do, you know.

Speaker 4 I do whipped cream.

Speaker 6 Oh, whipped cream.

Speaker 2 Well, that's a different activity.

Speaker 2 Yeah, but it is, yeah.

Speaker 4 It's fun and sensual.

Speaker 4 And I, you know, it's funny.

Speaker 2 Well, it's easy for you.

Speaker 4 You just lay there.

Speaker 2 Well, we're doing all the labels.

Speaker 4 No, but you can leak off of each other. Guys love that.
You know, I think that's fun.

Speaker 6 But how about adding a little chocolate to the whipped cake?

Speaker 2 Yeah, so you could get this ganache. Shame chocolate, or ganache.
You could take this ganache and

Speaker 5 ganache and tuition.

Speaker 6 And you could do Brazilian, you know, wax. You put some chocolate.

Speaker 4 Well, now you're making it like.

Speaker 4 Now you're ruining the romance.

Speaker 6 I'm not trying to get creative here. Like kill two birds with one stone.

Speaker 4 And we have my friend Viquet here behind

Speaker 4 the scenes doing this camera. He's laughing.

Speaker 4 the kids like whatever these people are crazy

Speaker 6 as hell they're crazy i think our next book should be called fuck viagra why don't you do that i mean that's really that's what it's all about if you eat the right thing yeah listen to me if you

Speaker 4 eat viagra you eat viagra i think you need cheese anything mother nature is like mother yes mother nature there are foods i have

Speaker 5 watermelon that

Speaker 2 been bring watermelon. I did, yeah.

Speaker 4 Watermelon, the milk.

Speaker 2 I want to get them in.

Speaker 5 So watermelon can be potentially as effective as Viagra. And it has a nutrient called citrulline.

Speaker 4 Really?

Speaker 2 Yeah, that's a good idea.

Speaker 4 Guys, I hold your mind.

Speaker 6 You know, this makes so much sense to me. See, my dad used to work in selling watermelons.

Speaker 2 Wow.

Speaker 6 And he had a baby from every woman that came in the store.

Speaker 6 Like, I was like, how does he do it? And it makes sense.

Speaker 4 Well, she's saying, she's the expert. Guys, next time before you take my agree, I eat to like a whole watermelon and see what happens.
That's not me. I'm just saying, try it out.

Speaker 2 Try it out.

Speaker 5 So we put the chocolate in. So what I've done, I took...

Speaker 5 The double boiler off of the burner, right? Now we still have the hot water under here, but we don't have any additional heat.

Speaker 5 Then I added all of the chocolate. Yeah.
And you're going to stir it together until the chocolate melts.

Speaker 5 There's a reason we do this. Do you know why?

Speaker 2 Why?

Speaker 6 So it doesn't burn?

Speaker 5 Yes. Have you ever smelled burning chocolate?

Speaker 2 It's like burning plastic.

Speaker 6 It's bad. It's bad.
So this is like a breast.

Speaker 4 You can just mix it up with all the fire.

Speaker 2 Yeah.

Speaker 5 Very easy.

Speaker 5 I may have added too much milk. We kind of have like dark milk chocolate.

Speaker 6 You can have more chocolate.

Speaker 2 I have more chocolate.

Speaker 6 You want more chocolate chips?

Speaker 4 There are stones of chocolate.

Speaker 4 There is tons of chocolate. Very easy.
Now, Amy,

Speaker 4 so he can eat the ganache with the fruit, with the strawberry, with the pineapple. Let's say he's gonna cook the salmon.

Speaker 4 What would be like a side dish for this romantic aphrodisiac dinner that you would eat with the salmon?

Speaker 5 So, well, I was thinking, you know, we kind of have perfect dish here. If you like chilies, you could do the salmon with a pineapple salsa.

Speaker 2 Chilies, pineapple, pineapple salsa.

Speaker 5 That would be one.

Speaker 2 That's interesting.

Speaker 5 And of course, you can have the cornbar, chocolate, and strawberries to go for the

Speaker 5 dessert. I mean, so, you know, we've got.

Speaker 2 Do you need a knife? And that's another thing too, right?

Speaker 4 You don't want to cook a very heavy...

Speaker 4 No, that's too noisy for the audio.

Speaker 4 You don't want to cook

Speaker 4 something that's very heavy if you want to have a very fun, sexy, sexual night, right?

Speaker 4 Like let's say you don't want to cook mashed potatoes, rice.

Speaker 5 You are so spot on. And

Speaker 5 I consult occasionally for restaurants, like for Valentine's dinners or romance packages at hotels.

Speaker 5 And I have to talk to the chefs. They'll want to do something like, we're going to have filet mignon and carried potatoes.

Speaker 4 And I'm like, blue cheese sauce.

Speaker 5 No, why would you do that to people? Yes. I remember I had to talk.
One chef had planned this chocolate ice cream sundae extravaganza for me for dessert.

Speaker 2 And I was like, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 4 No.

Speaker 5 You try to find the nicest way to say, like, that's crazy.

Speaker 4 By the time they get home, remember, I don't know if you remember, there was an episode of Sex in the City like that.

Speaker 4 That Charlotte and her husband, they went to this super fancy, fabulous meal, like in a French restaurant, but the meal was so heavy, so heavy.

Speaker 4 By the time they get home and they want to have this fabulous, delicious sex, they start feeling like super sick.

Speaker 4 So I think that's like really important to mention that you should be sexy. And like, even the chocolate, you should have little nibbles and bites of it, but you don't want to like eat the whole bite.

Speaker 4 The pot of chocolate at once, right? Because you don't want to have a tummy ache in the middle of something.

Speaker 6 I mean, yeah, it defeats the purpose.

Speaker 5 In fact, one of the foods I encourage for an aphrodisiac dinner is ginger. Oh, I know.
Because it's really, it promotes your

Speaker 2 healthy digestion.

Speaker 5 And it is also an aphrodisiac. It raises body temperature.

Speaker 4 Nicholas has everything.

Speaker 5 I love this kitchen.

Speaker 4 That's why I said, I was about to do this episode here because if they haven't anything,

Speaker 4 I know they love chicken.

Speaker 2 So great.

Speaker 6 No, and the funny thing, I don't often have ginger. I just did, I was at Trader Joe's and I just, hey, ginger, you know? Yeah.

Speaker 4 Could be a lot of fun. I love ginger.
I do tons of ginger tea and ginger juice. Have you heard of something called Spanish fly?

Speaker 2 Yes, I have.

Speaker 6 The Spanish fly, but I haven't heard. No, Nicola.
I've heard of Spanish flu, but not the fly.

Speaker 2 Spanish fly.

Speaker 5 Spanish fly doesn't come from a fly.

Speaker 5 It's worse. It comes from a beetle.

Speaker 2 It comes from a beetle.

Speaker 4 But do you think it's worse?

Speaker 5 Um, I I've read enough to say that it could potentially work, but no one should touch that. It also could be incredibly painful.
It's a dangerous thing.

Speaker 2 There are a lot of.

Speaker 4 It's a substance.

Speaker 2 Yeah.

Speaker 5 There are a lot of aphrodisia that you extract from the beetle.

Speaker 4 They claim that it's the substance that you extract from a beetle that is very aphrodisiac, so they make all this product from it.

Speaker 2 Yeah, no, it's from

Speaker 6 an adventure there.

Speaker 2 It would be very bad.

Speaker 4 Somebody asked me when I said I was going to interview you, and somebody asked me about it to ask you about it, I'm like, I don't know.

Speaker 2 No, stay away from that.

Speaker 2 Stay away from it. Unnecessary, right? Unnecessary.

Speaker 2 I listen to that.

Speaker 2 I'm not a ginger unless you.

Speaker 4 So you think if somebody incorporates all of these foods into their lives,

Speaker 4 they will definitely see a difference in their libido, in their sex drive.

Speaker 6 Well, we need to all go home tonight and reconvene tomorrow and just talk how

Speaker 5 to go, yes.

Speaker 2 Well,

Speaker 5 I'd love to hear how it goes.

Speaker 2 You got it already.

Speaker 6 I mean, respectively, right?

Speaker 4 You do, because you have nettle, you do, because you're going to be.

Speaker 4 I'm still, I'm still.

Speaker 5 Oh, we got to take it out.

Speaker 2 I'm still dating and figuring things out.

Speaker 2 But, you know,

Speaker 6 just, you know.

Speaker 2 But I do

Speaker 2 agree.

Speaker 6 You can put like an ad looking for experimental parts.

Speaker 2 Oh, yeah, I am, dating.

Speaker 2 I am.

Speaker 4 But I do agree. Like, of all these foods, all these foods are part of my regular diet, except, like I said, I don't do peppers, by the way.

Speaker 4 Now, everybody that's gonna date me knows don't put pepper on my food.

Speaker 7 Don't put peppers.

Speaker 4 Don't put a chili in my food. She's gone on right now.
That's the end of me. I do eat peanuts, but it's not my favorite.

Speaker 4 Yeah, everything else I love. And I'm a fanatic.
Of course, I could eat chocolate every day. I control it because I don't want to get fed.

Speaker 6 So, how do you employ the ginger? Do you eat it fresh? Do you chop it up? You make juice? What do you do?

Speaker 5 Anything you want. Actually, I love ginger juice.
Do you ever do that?

Speaker 2 No, I haven't.

Speaker 5 Oh, yeah, just ice water, ginger, ice water, some honey. Put it in the blender, and it gets kind of frothy.
And it's like

Speaker 2 wake up. I would love to try it.
It's delicious.

Speaker 6 No, I think I tried this gingerbread cookies.

Speaker 2 Oh, like anything, like tea, ginger, water. You have it in your blender.
What do you do? Oh, you could even.

Speaker 6 I don't know.

Speaker 4 I was thinking, Tim, you could even season the salmon, right?

Speaker 4 No, we're running out of time.

Speaker 2 Put it it in the tea or something. Yeah, Amy,

Speaker 4 before I let you go, oh my god, this is so much fun. We're running out of time.

Speaker 4 To flip the coin, in case somebody's wondering,

Speaker 4 are there any ingredients that you would say like absolutely avoid

Speaker 4 if you want to have a romantic, fabulous

Speaker 4 date night or romantic night?

Speaker 5 And that answer is really simple. We touched on it already.
Heavy food.

Speaker 4 Heavy foods.

Speaker 5 Don't have a heavy meal. Don't have heavy foods.
I do not recommend having a steak or a burger.

Speaker 2 Oh.

Speaker 4 Having a steak, why not? Because a lot of guys, they think,

Speaker 4 and even like, you know, specialists, they say, oh, because a steak makes the guy feel like

Speaker 5 so. I actually, I understand that.
I get it. It has a lot of saturated fat.
It's slow. It sits in your stomach a long time.
It's slow to digest.

Speaker 5 So if you go to eatsomethingsexy.com and you find my list of the 10 best foods for men, you'll notice I put bison on the list.

Speaker 2 as an alternative.

Speaker 6 It's more gamey, right?

Speaker 5 Right, it's lower in saturated fat, it's easier to digest. There's actually more blood in the meat, it means more nutrition.
It's a more nutritious meat.

Speaker 5 You're getting more protein, you're getting more of all of the things, you know, the iron, all the things that you want from your red meat. So, that is on my list.

Speaker 5 So, you could have, but also keep it small. Like, even with bison, don't have like a Fred Flintstone skin.

Speaker 2 Yeah, yeah,

Speaker 2 yeah.

Speaker 4 The tip of stone, small portions is the name of the game for a sexy,

Speaker 4 fabulous night, right?

Speaker 2 Exactly.

Speaker 5 And then maybe have a midnight snack.

Speaker 2 Yeah. Right? Have a light dinner.
Yeah.

Speaker 4 I think there is no better meal. I even think I did a post like that on my Instagram.
I think the best hunger is the hunger after sex.

Speaker 5 Yes. I think there's no hunger.

Speaker 4 You can come here in this kitchen and then you can really like

Speaker 2 afterwards then you can

Speaker 4 eat the leftovers.

Speaker 5 i love that you're so i hadn't thought about that way but you're so wrong it is it's the best hungry after i have like tons of sex then i'm like i want to eat like everything yeah yeah so that's a good way to go about start off with like light stuff yeah do the activity yeah after a few hours later you can eat yeah eat the leftovers eat the leftovers and relish in it that's the best and well now you're making remember when my husband and i were first together that would be our thing we'd like order in midnight thai food and we'd just be

Speaker 2 so hungry.

Speaker 5 I don't even think we'd have dinner, we'd just go for a romp and then

Speaker 5 we'd have like giant bowls of midnight Thai food.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I missed those days.

Speaker 4 Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 You're amazing.

Speaker 4 This was so much fun, Nicholas. Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 2 Thank you.

Speaker 2 Thank you for welcoming us.

Speaker 4 Your kitchen is beautiful. I know Natalie's gonna have a great time tonight.

Speaker 2 Oh, yes.
