Speaker 1 This isn't just a game, it's a once-in-a-generation event. The Harlem Globetrotters 100-year tour.
Speaker 1
Celebrate 100 years of high-flying dunks, 100 years of show-stopping moves, and 100 years of changing the game. Bring the whole family and be part of the legacy.
This game is once in a century.
Speaker 1 Be there at Chase Center on January 18th. Go to HarlemGlobetrotters.com for your tickets to the 100-year tour.
Speaker 2 Midnight Burger is brought to you today by Shaker and Spoon, where you can get $20 off of any subscription by going to shakerandspoon.com/slash Midnight Burger.
Speaker 2 Cast members and avid cocktail makers Neil and Julie gave Shaker and Spoon a try.
Speaker 3 It's a cute little box, and you open it up, and it's filled with a whole bunch of recyclable packaging material and cute little bottles and fun instructions and really cute written postcards with recipes.
Speaker 2 Each monthly box arrives with three original recipes created by world-class bartenders, as well as enough ingredients for 12 cocktails, four from each recipe.
Speaker 4 I mean I've got a pretty solid bar by most like home bar standards, but I don't like get things that they sent.
Speaker 4 Like I don't go out and buy black pepper walnut bitters and like cardamom bitters and they had a bunch of spice syrups mixed up and stuff.
Speaker 2 Each box revolves around one type of liquor. So just add one bottle of liquor liquor and you're ready to go.
Speaker 3 It's all very clear because everything's labeled and each cocktail has its own ingredient card or instructions card. So
Speaker 3 each one has its own recipe and like backstory and everything on a card. So yeah, it's all easy to figure out.
Speaker 2 They'll have everything you need,
Speaker 2 except for the egg.
Speaker 4
There are even two enormous lemons in there. There's actually fruit in there.
Lemons. Fresh citrus.
So the only thing we needed was booze and for one of the cocktails we needed an egg.
Speaker 4 They didn't send an egg, which I think is prudent.
Speaker 2 Good idea. You can learn new techniques while creating excellent craft cocktails.
Speaker 4 They have sourced these cocktails from people in the business.
Speaker 4 And like, I'm checking the CVs on some of the people that they dropped, and they're like legit heavy hitters working at serious cocktail bars.
Speaker 2 It's also a great gift idea. Literally all you need to know about your gifty is their email address.
Speaker 3 I think it would be good for really smart, cool, and beautiful people.
Speaker 4
Oh, like our listeners. Yes.
And one of the cool things here is that they, there's enough to make, there's enough to make three different cocktails and to make four of each.
Speaker 4
So you could make it like a little social thing, right? Like have you people over? Hey, I got my new shaker and spoon box. Let's uh come over Friday night.
Let's see what these are.
Speaker 2 Going out to the bar has become a little more complicated these days. So throw an epic cocktail party at home and save $20 off any subscription by going to shakerandspoon.com/slash midnightburger.
Speaker 2 Hi, folks. Let me see if I can sum up Midnight Burger in about 25 seconds.
Speaker 3
Really big monster! Zero irony. Pardon me, Gloria.
Might my husband and I have a word?
Speaker 1 The radio is talking to me.
Speaker 3 A space pirate? There's a pocket dimension in the deep freeze.
Speaker 2 This is the stupidest dystopia we've ever been to. What the hell is that?
Speaker 3 Because you're having a cigarette in 415 million BC.
Speaker 2 Where are we? Space. Can you narrow that down?
Speaker 4 The bad part?
Speaker 2
Ava. Yeah, that didn't work at all.
At the nexus of all things, there is a diner. Look for Midnight Burger on your favorite podcasting app or just go to weopen at six.com.
Speaker 3 The Fable and Folly Network, where fiction producers flourish.
Speaker 6 This is I reporting. He's at the Lao Chang Restaurant, Chongchun, northeastern China.
Speaker 6 It's spring 1997.
Speaker 6 Once it started, I'll leave him in Ming's hands.
Speaker 6 That's a joke.
Speaker 5 Ming doesn't have heads. And what do you do exactly? Besides dance with strangers?
Speaker 5 I work for the Postal Service.
Speaker 5 You're a postman.
Speaker 4 We're right.
Speaker 5 We're
Speaker 5 weird. Miss Crutier? What is it?
Speaker 5 It's just a bit strange. A letter for me from Hong Kong.
Speaker 5 And there's no stamp. I need stamps to write a dead person?
Speaker 2 Yep, there's a cost.
Speaker 5 How much? A pound.
Speaker 5 A pound of flesh?
Speaker 3 A pound of you?
Speaker 5 It seems like a lot.
Speaker 5 Lift up your shirt. What's that?
Speaker 5 Just hold this tube over your stomach. We are done.
Speaker 5 Ow!
Speaker 5 Yeah, this is gonna hurt. But what?
Speaker 5 Nothing!
Speaker 5 The very worst thing that could possibly happen.
Speaker 2 Sarah, please write back.
Speaker 5 If your letter can find me here, then I think we have a lot to talk about.
Speaker 5 Saludos.
Speaker 5 Raul.
Speaker 5 The very worst thing that could possibly happen.
Speaker 5 An audio drama in nine parts produced by Wolf of the Door Studios.
