Also,

Speaker 1 Max is on the couch.

Speaker 8 By decree of Pug. Max is on the couch.
Pug said that Max should be on the couch, so Max is on the couch.

Speaker 3 I'm just going to do bad, bad things here so I can go back to the booth.

Speaker 1 Oh, so you're thwarting us? What are you going to do? Look at your phone and not listen to us?

Speaker 1 Real bad things.

Speaker 3 Maybe I'll just interrupt

Speaker 8 and be disrespectful. Max became,

Speaker 8 you got scared when you sat down on this guy.

Speaker 3 I don't like looking at you. Yeah.
Something about you.

Speaker 1 He looks one of those dogs.

Speaker 8 Your dog that'll bark when there's a fence up and then they open the gate.

Speaker 1 You need a pillow in front of your stomach. I do need a pillow.
Yeah, grab that one right there.

Speaker 1 There you go. Talk about Thursday night football.
All right, Thursday night football was incredible. The Bengals, Jamar Chase kills the Ravens, and holy shit, he had a night.
What did he end up with?

Speaker 1 250? 264.

Speaker 8 He had 11 receptions, 264, three touchdowns. Three touchdowns.
With the longest 70 yards. And

Speaker 8 how do you think that Mike Brown feels about this game? Because he's like, this is awesome. I'm so glad that our team is competitive.
God damn, Jamar Chase is good draft pick by me.

Speaker 8 But then he's like, ah, shit. I also have to pay the guy.
And we lost.

Speaker 1 Yeah. And we lost.
And that's the story because the Bengals, it was basically a repeat of the first time these two teams played where you watch this game and the Bengals were up 21-7

Speaker 1 right after the half. And you're like, oh, man, the Ravens look bad.
They look like just kind of discombobulated. They couldn't get any drives going.

Speaker 1 And then, boom, Marlon Humphries with a great strip. And that changed everything.
Because then the Ravens scored, and they scored again. And it was just the game was on.

Speaker 1 And the Ravens are - you can't make mistakes against the Ravens. Like, the Bengals, again, this is another - Joe Burrow has played perfect against

Speaker 1 the Ravens, and they have no wins to show for it this year.

Speaker 8 Yeah, so game one against the Ravens, they lost 41 to 38. Tonight, they lost 35 to 34.

Speaker 8 That's where it's like when another team has your number. Yeah.
Like, you play almost to the best of your abilities as a team.

Speaker 8 And what's crazy is, like, I'm walking away from this Bengals game, and I'm thinking, the Bengals are one of the best teams in the AFC. Yeah.
They're probably not going to make the playoffs.

Speaker 1 No, they might not make the playoffs. And, yeah, Joe Burrow against the Ravens this year has 800 yards and nine touchdowns in one pick.
And

Speaker 1 they just,

Speaker 1 you can't make mistakes against the Ravens. That's just how they are.

Speaker 1 I mean, I still, the Ravens defense, obviously Kyle Hamilton going down was very big because you could feel that, especially with Jamar Chase's, like,

Speaker 1 that was incredible where the Ravens,

Speaker 1 or sorry, the Bengals go up 28-21, and then it was like, oh, or no, yeah, that was the play, right? That was a 70-yard touchdown pass?

Speaker 8 The 70-yard touchdown pass to Wallace was. No, no, no.

Speaker 1 No, I'm saying the Bengals,

Speaker 1 the Ravens went up up 28-21. They get the two-point conversion, and it was one play 70 yards to Jamar Chase.
You're like, yeah, the Bengals

Speaker 1 are the best team.

Speaker 1 Jamar Chase is the best player ever.

Speaker 8 He gets faster after he catches the ball.

Speaker 1 He doesn't even look that fast.

Speaker 8 I know, but he glides, and he just glides through everybody, and he takes perfect angles. Good understanding of geometry.
That's what they've always said about Jamar Chase.

Speaker 1 Yeah, what a night for the Bengals offense, and they just didn't have enough to stop the Ravens.

Speaker 1 And it really was that it was that fumble because of that fumble, the game's 21-7 there, and you just felt like the Ravens were like, fans were booing, guys were yelling stuff.

Speaker 1 It felt like the Ravens were kind of lost, and that fumble sparked everything, and then they scored

Speaker 1 three unanswered touchdowns and end up winning on the last play, which, by the way, there was probably some holding.

Speaker 8 Also, that's why you kick the extra point there and you take it to overtime.

Speaker 1 On the road, you don't want to make mistakes.

Speaker 8 You're putting a lot of weight on one play. We've always said that

Speaker 8 against a superior team, a game no one thought that you were going to win at halftime. You take the point there.
Why are you getting cute with Zach Taylor?

Speaker 1 Yeah, if you were watching us on stream in the gambling cave, we were rooting for an extra point because of gambling.

Speaker 1 But now that we're out of the gambling cave, that was the correct call to go for two.

Speaker 8 Yeah, 100%. You got to go for two there.

Speaker 1 There was a little too much time left with the Ravens having two. Like,

Speaker 1 I thought the Ravens were going to win no matter what, even if the Bengals had gotten that two-point conversion, there was two timeouts and like 25 seconds left.

Speaker 1 That was Lamar Jackson going to just go down the field.

Speaker 8 Yeah, Lamar finds a way there.

Speaker 8 Justin Tucker.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 8 Wash.

Speaker 8 It feels like

Speaker 8 the Ravens might be destined to get into a close playoff game against, I don't know,

Speaker 8 the Kansas City Chiefs

Speaker 8 and to get out-kicked.

Speaker 8 I hope that's not the case, but there's something up with Justin Tucker.

Speaker 1 There's definitely something up with Justin Tucker.

Speaker 8 The helmets and the uniforms, I appreciate the homage to Color Rush, the Thursday night tradition that we used to have in this country when we were a proper country. Yeah.

Speaker 8 That being said, Big Cat, I know that you feel a certain type of way about the Ravens' black uniforms at night.

Speaker 1 I agree. Well, that's their night uniform.

Speaker 1 It was just good that the Ravens won this game because if they had lost this game, you could have just pointed to the fact that you handed the game over by not wearing your black uniforms at night.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 That would have been it right there. But yeah, the purple, it was a little candy-s.
Yes, I do like that they tried something different.

Speaker 1 I would rather them just go with the black uniforms at night because those are unstoppable. Max, what were your thoughts about the game?

Speaker 3 I had nothing.

Speaker 1 Okay. Yep.

Speaker 1 They're having a great time. I know Booth, right?

Speaker 1 I can hear memes through the soundproof booth.

Speaker 1 I don't think I've seen Hank smile this much in a long time. Max, give me your breakdown.
I got horrible. I got horrible taste.

Speaker 3 I got nothing. I shouldn't be here.
I don't like looking at you.

Speaker 8 You're intimidated.

Speaker 3 So intimidated. I'm not ready for the bright lights.

Speaker 1 You're not ready for the bright lights. Pug, are you think this works?

Speaker 1 Should we keep him in here for Firefest? No. I don't know.
We're going to kick him out for weekend preview because

Speaker 3 no, don't listen to Hank.

Speaker 7 I think we need a little longer to test it out so we can confirm.

Speaker 1 All right, so we're going to kick you out for weekend preview, and then when we do Firefest, you'll be back on the couch. That's fair.

Speaker 8 Max, just participate in the podcast for one second. Did you like the football game tonight?

Speaker 1 Football?

Speaker 1 Football. Football.

Speaker 8 Football.

Speaker 1 All right, so realistically,

Speaker 3 I need to be kicked out. I should be kicked out.

Speaker 1 I thought it was a great game.

Speaker 9 Great Thursday night football game. Offensive explosion.
Fun to watch.

Speaker 8 You love sports when you're in that booth.

Speaker 9 Yeah, I fucking love sports.

Speaker 1 Okay, so looking at the schedule, the Bengals have to win. They can lose maybe one more game.
I don't even know if they can lose one more game. I don't know.

Speaker 1 If they lose one more game, they're very close to being eliminated because that would be 9-7 would be the best. Or, no, sorry.
They could lose one more game because 10-7. Maybe.
10-7.

Speaker 1 So here's what their schedule is. At the Chargers, not an easy game.
Harbaugh Bull.

Speaker 1 Steelers at home. Cowboys.
Dak will still be out because he's on IR, right?

Speaker 1 Titans, Browns, Broncos, Steelers.

Speaker 8 You're talking about the Bengals schedule.

Speaker 1 The Bengals schedule.

Speaker 1 Not the Harbaugh Bowl. Oh, sorry, not the Harbaugh Bowl.
You're right. They play later.
I was confused.

Speaker 1 I thought the Harbaugh Bowl was later.

Speaker 8 They do have the opportunity to.

Speaker 8 Let's see. They lost to one Harbaugh.
Yeah. So that means that they might.

Speaker 8 They'll win.

Speaker 1 They're going to beat the other. They'll beat the other Harbaugh.
Yeah. Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 So

Speaker 1 I think they could.

Speaker 1 I'm never going to give up on the Bengals. I don't know what it's a sickness at this point.

Speaker 1 They're not going to give up on Joe Burrow.

Speaker 8 We've done the look ahead at their schedule. I think.
Every single week. I think we started doing it after they beat the Panthers in week four.

Speaker 1 This was the game, though, that we circled. It's like, you win this game, you're back to 500.
Now you have some wiggle room. Now you can

Speaker 1 realistically lose two games, finish 10 and 7, get in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 Yeah,

Speaker 1 they can take one more loss on the season. And listen,

Speaker 1 I think they could do it. If they can beat the Chargers, I think they can do it.
It's crazy to say. I think they might be able to do it.

Speaker 8 Two games against the Steelers.

Speaker 1 Cowboys is a win.

Speaker 1 Titans should be a win. Browns, Broncos at home, those should be wins.
So it basically comes down to two games against the Steelers and a game against the Chargers.

Speaker 1 Can you go two and one in those games?

Speaker 8 Also, Cooper Rush, though.

Speaker 1 Can you go two and one in those games? And the Ravens now,

Speaker 1 I mean, they're, yeah, they're just really good.

Speaker 1 I didn't understand Jerry was saying that he was wanting the Bengals to lose so they would just get out of the picture.

Speaker 8 I understood what he was saying. Because

Speaker 8 if you're a fan of a team that has a bitter rival, like Pittsburgh does with Baltimore, I know that Cincinnati's been in that equation recently, but he would much rather focus all of his energy as a fan on one team to hate as opposed to spreading out to two teams to concentrate on.

Speaker 1 I'd rather take the two-game lead.

Speaker 8 That's a lot of people for Jerry to have to wish injury on if there's two teams that he has to be.

Speaker 1 I'd rather take the two-game lead because the Bengals were never going to be like a threat to win the AFC North. They were going to be a threat to get a wild card.
The Ravens are now 7-3.

Speaker 1 You know, it's not the, that's going to be a fight in the AFC North.

Speaker 1 I think the Steelers and Ravens still have to play two times.

Speaker 8 I would have felt the same way, but Jerry, he's a different bird, so he wants to be able to just focus on one enemy.

Speaker 1 It's going to be, man.

Speaker 1 Is it crazy that I'm already so excited for the playoffs because I'm just looking at at the AFC playoffs and it's just

Speaker 1 that Chiefs, Bills, Ravens, not even talking about the Steelers and tech, like, duh, man, that's a good team.

Speaker 8 I think we're just amped up for a good football game. Yeah, I take this as a harbinger of things to come for this weekend.

Speaker 8 When Thursday night kicks off and it's an awesome game, you know that Sunday is going to bring it.

Speaker 1 Yeah, set the tone. Okay, Max, any last thoughts?

Speaker 3 The Eagles beat the shit out of the Bengals.

Speaker 1 Oh, okay. That's my thoughts.
That's good. All right, let's kick it to ourselves.

Speaker 1 We're going to have Hank come come back on the couch for the weekend preview, and then we have Ron Rivera, and then we'll do Firefest with Max back on the couch.

Speaker 1 Okay, boys.

Speaker 1 Week 10.

Speaker 1 Not going to say it, PFT, but it's week 10.

Speaker 8 Don't say it. I know.
We all know what that entails, but I just don't. I like to live in denial.

Speaker 1 Week 10.

Speaker 1 Let's start.

Speaker 1 We're going back abroad. Giants at Panthers in Germany.
Oh, boy. Oh, boy.

Speaker 8 So are we going to boycott this game or not? Because if you're mad at the NFL for anything, you can say that you're going to boycott the games.

Speaker 8 It's been going back since like 2010 that people have been like oh i don't like this happened i'm going to boycott this is the actual time when you could possibly boycott a game yes where they would you could have the lowest ratings of all time in any football game yeah i uh i'm gonna keep an eye on it i think here's my plan i'm gonna wake up and i'm gonna turn it on and then i'm going to stay in bed and then just kind of let whatever happens happens okay if i think that sounds like you're gonna watch it i'm probably gonna watch it yeah i'm gonna keep an eye on it.

Speaker 1 I'm going to be with my kids, so I'll probably, you know, have the phone in my hand, watch it. It's going to be bad.
I actually think the Giants are going to win.

Speaker 1 Do you know the Giants are leading the league in sacks?

Speaker 8 35. Yeah, their defensive line, very good.
Yeah. Here's a crazy stat about the Giants.
They're favored in this game. Yeah.
That's crazy.

Speaker 8 That's a crazy stat because they haven't been favored since week two of last season.

Speaker 1 Yeah, 24 straight games.

Speaker 8 24 straight games where they've been underdogs. And week two two last season, they beat the Cardinals 31-28 as four and a half-point road favorites.

Speaker 1 It's crazy. Yeah.

Speaker 8 Wild ride for the Giants.

Speaker 1 Chubba Hubber just got re-signed.

Speaker 1 Good for him.

Speaker 1 The Giants are also

Speaker 1 the best international team. They're 3-0 all time.
Everything.

Speaker 1 So

Speaker 1 I like the Giants in this game just because I'm going to bet it because it's going to be on. And their defense is actually good.
And that's really the only thing you can point to.

Speaker 1 I mean, Daniel Jones,

Speaker 1 maybe he's going to run more.

Speaker 8 Maybe he'll get more than one-yard passing

Speaker 8 in the first half. I think he's going to run, and I also think he could pass in this game, too, because the Panthers' pass defense absolutely stinks.
They get no pass rush whatsoever.

Speaker 8 If you're going to get a good game out of Daniel Jones, it's going to be this one. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Did you know? So we had the idea of the Tuber Bowl last week. is obviously two two-win teams, so we'll figure out maybe this is like a play-in game for the Tuber Bowl.

Speaker 1 Did you know that they used to play a third and fourth gate place game in the NFL? Yeah. It's awesome.
Called the Playoff Bowl, also known as the Burt Bell Benefit Bowl. I love that.

Speaker 1 And the Lions are the best team ever in the Burt Bell Benefit Bowl. They were 3-0 all time.

Speaker 1 And apparently, Vince Lombardi hated it so much, he used it as motivation to get to the Super Bowl, being like, you don't want to have to fucking go play in this game.

Speaker 8 You want to play in the losers' game? No.

Speaker 1 But I wish they had bring this back. Like, the AFC United States championship game week before, just play a third-place game.

Speaker 8 I mean, that would make the Pro Bowl look like playoff speed. Yeah.
The third and fourth place teams definitely don't want to be there.

Speaker 1 And it also would just be like, we get a definitive answer.

Speaker 1 How close were you to winning a Super Bowl?

Speaker 8 Right. You could probably say if one team beats the other team by a significant margin in

Speaker 8 the Burt Buddhist.

Speaker 1 Burt Bell benefit bowl.

Speaker 8 The Burt Bell benefit bowl. Yeah.
If one team blows the other one out, then you could see those results and be like, well, we would have beaten that team.

Speaker 8 So really, the NFC Championship game was the Super Bowl. Yeah.

Speaker 1 It also is partially responsible for the Dolphins becoming a franchise because they used to play in Miami. So, and they're like, hey, we should get a team here.
Kind of cool. Yeah.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 The Burt Bell Benefit Bowl.

Speaker 9 Burt Bell was the fifth NFL commissioner, if anyone's wondering.

Speaker 1 Oh, I was. I was wondering.

Speaker 9 He introduced competitive parity into the NFL to improve the league's commercial viability and promote its popularity.

Speaker 9 That sounds like just some mumbo joints.

Speaker 1 It's marketing. It's on a resume, yeah.

Speaker 8 Yeah, marketing was they came up with that one.

Speaker 9 You see, he introduced competitive parity means, hey, we should, these games should be better. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah. I would not the best players, yeah.

Speaker 1 Stop letting the teams just draft players from their region so we can make some of these teams better.

Speaker 8 Would you want to have a third-place game named after you? No. I don't think I would.
Definitely not.

Speaker 1 But it is a good name, Purpell. And yeah, Lombardi used to call it the shit bowl.

Speaker 1 Loser's bowl for losers.

Speaker 8 Okay, so what they should actually do, though, is they should do the last team, the team that's slated at number one in the draft, the team that's slated at number two in the draft

Speaker 8 and have them play, and then the winner of that would get the number one overall draft pick.

Speaker 1 I agree with that. That would be very fun.
But yeah, the Burt Bell benefit bowl. Okay, let's do the regular slate.
Start with Bills at Colts.

Speaker 1 We don't know. Keon Coleman might be banged up.
Amari Cooper obviously missed last week. He might miss again.

Speaker 1 The Colts didn't reach the red zone last week against the Vikings.

Speaker 8 That's not good. Not good.

Speaker 1 I weirdly think this might be a good spot for the Colts.

Speaker 8 So I was thinking about Jonathan Taylor because the last time they played, I think Taylor had 185 yards and five touchdowns.

Speaker 8 Now, you look at the quarterback, and they're going to go with Flacco. They're going to stick with Flacco.

Speaker 8 Under Flacco, Taylor has 29 rushes for 106 yards,

Speaker 8 3.6 yards per carry.

Speaker 8 Under Richardson, he's got 76 rushes for 396 yards, 5.2 yards per carry. Which makes sense.
It does. He's a much, much more efficient runner.
Yeah, Anthony Richardson

Speaker 1 opens everything up. You got to be worried about him running as well.

Speaker 8 So what they have to do is they have to get Flacco on the move early. Yeah.

Speaker 8 Do like a little RPO with Flacco and just make the defense think that maybe Joe Flacco is going to run at some point during the game and then Jonathan Taylor will be much better.

Speaker 1 I like the Colts in this game simply because when you make the switch to Joe Flacco, you're essentially saying we have to make the playoffs this year. Yeah.
Because you wouldn't make it otherwise.

Speaker 1 So you're like, hey, we're making the switch. We're going to try to get to the playoffs this year.
This is a must-win for the Colts.

Speaker 1 Also, kind of a weird spot for the Bills in the fact they just played the Dolphins at home. They essentially wrapped up the AFC East, and they have the Chiefs on deck.
So

Speaker 1 I don't think the Colts are better than the Bills, but I just, I don't know. Plus four feels like a game.
Maybe the Colts, maybe Hungry Dog? Have you decided on the Hungry Dog?

Speaker 9 I haven't decided, but I was not thinking.

Speaker 1 Colts? Colts, although

Speaker 9 if Anthony Richardson plays.

Speaker 1 Oh, you want Anthony Richardson?

Speaker 8 That boosts it up. Yeah.
Okay, so I think that the Colts are going to be able to run the ball and not be able to do it.

Speaker 1 No matter who's the quarterback, it's bad.

Speaker 8 It's a bad stat to have from a game. You don't even get close to really scoring a touchdown or even like a good look at the end zone.

Speaker 9 And to your Drake May point from earlier in the year, it's like, just play them.

Speaker 9 If you have them.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Play them.
I agree. Well, they're trying to make the playoffs.

Speaker 9 But you can't even get in the red zone.

Speaker 1 So

Speaker 9 play your future.

Speaker 8 The thing about the Colts is if they are trying to get to the playoffs, they're like the perfectly average team in the NFL. I think that they can beat any bad team.

Speaker 8 I think that they can compete against good teams, too. They can lose by one score to most teams in the NFL.

Speaker 8 But

Speaker 8 the position you have yourself in with Joe Flacco starting is you're going to just sell out to make the playoffs as potentially the last seed in the playoffs and probably lose in the first round,

Speaker 8 which will make your draft pick so much worse

Speaker 8 if you had just played Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 1 Yeah, it makes no sense.

Speaker 8 Yeah, what's the best case scenario for Flacco?

Speaker 1 The only thing that would have made sense is if they traded Anthony Richardson. Yeah.
Because then it would be like, yeah, we're done and we're fully done.

Speaker 1 From my friends at Sports Info Solutions, if the Colts do go too high trying to limit Josh Allen's passing, the Bills are the best running team against too high, and the Colts are the worst defensively in that formation.

Speaker 1 So maybe some James cookovers. Okay.
Just something to think about. Just putting a little nugget in your head.
I also had this one.

Speaker 1 Jordan Phillips on the Bills this week said he's an acquired taste and they like how I taste. Talking about the Bills.
Okay, so the Bills.

Speaker 1 What do you guys think you taste like?

Speaker 8 No comment.

Speaker 1 I don't think I taste good.

Speaker 8 No, I can't.

Speaker 8 How much pineapple have I had that day?

Speaker 1 Cheetos.

Speaker 1 Maybe some Cheetos.

Speaker 8 Yeah, I'm salty. Yeah.
Salty and sweet.

Speaker 1 But that's a very funny quote to say I'm an acquired taste and they like how I taste.

Speaker 8 So how long has he been on the bills? How long? Does that mean that they hated him?

Speaker 1 I think he's just an acquired taste. He's just someone who, you know, it takes a while to get used to this type of taste.
Representative. He's been on the bills this year, just this year.

Speaker 8 So since they like how he tastes.

Speaker 1 Actually, he was

Speaker 1 he traded this year? He was traded this year.

Speaker 8 That's where the acquired comes from. He's got the acquired taste.
They literally acquired him.

Speaker 1 Yeah, they acquired the taste. Oh, no, he's been on the bills multiple times.
I'm sorry. He's been on the bills three different times.

Speaker 1 So they must just keep wanting to come back for the taste They keep acquiring him Yeah over and over again. He's gone Dolphins bills cardinals bills giants cowboys bills.

Speaker 1 Yeah, he's like malort They can't get rid they can't they can't stop thinking about the taste of Jordan Phillips.

Speaker 8 Yeah, well what they get a taste of him and then they're like I'm never tasting this again the afternoon never never drinking again.

Speaker 8 Yeah, and then a year later they're like I might as well take one more shot.

Speaker 1 Yeah, he was released right before the trade deadline and the Bills picked him back up. So yeah, they just keep coming back for more tastes.

Speaker 8 So what are we going to do about the tickets this weekend? Bills at Colts. We got two Colts tickets.
What about Colts fans

Speaker 8 first person to send a video of them throwing somebody through a table or getting thrown through a table? Or pit.

Speaker 9 Just find a pit somewhere.

Speaker 1 Pit. Find a pit.
What about just a Colts fan? If we have maybe a Colts fan who also is a Josh Allen fan, how they would prove that, I don't know.

Speaker 1 Maybe they have a Josh Allen jersey. Colts fan.

Speaker 1 Colts fan with a horse. Colts fan with a horse.
Oh.

Speaker 1 I like that. I like that.

Speaker 8 If you can find, or just really a picture of you riding a horse.

Speaker 1 Ah, what about a Colts fan with a buffalo? Yeah.

Speaker 8 If there's any out there. That gets number one.
Backup is going to be Colts fan with a buffalo. With a horse.
You'll get two tickets to the game.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 Next game. Hank,

Speaker 1 Patriots at Bears.

Speaker 1 I think the Bears could lose this game. I don't want that to happen.

Speaker 9 I'm going to bet this will not be in the Hungry Dog. I'm going to place a large one.

Speaker 1 Wait, you control the.

Speaker 9 I know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 You're going to bet that it's not in the Hungry Dog. You decide though.

Speaker 9 No, it's not. I said it's not going to be in the Hungry Dog, period.
I'm going to bet big Patriots plus six.

Speaker 1 Okay, okay.

Speaker 9 Because then I think the Patriots can keep it close, cover that. But I don't want.

Speaker 1 I hope the Bears show up. And I'm wrong about them quitting.

Speaker 1 The DJ Moore fallout has been weird. Even more,

Speaker 1 he did an interview and was like, yeah, I I got injured on that play.

Speaker 1 Still, a lot of smoke there.

Speaker 8 Yeah, they were asking about losing the locker room, and he was kind of non-committal about that.

Speaker 1 He said he doesn't want to say that.

Speaker 8 Yeah, which means that he wants to say it.

Speaker 1 Yeah, he wants to say it.

Speaker 1 Bears getting a little bit healthier on the offensive line. I think Montez Sweat will be back.
I think Gordon will be back.

Speaker 1 I don't know.

Speaker 8 I just,

Speaker 1 they got to win this game by three touchdowns for me to feel anything.

Speaker 8 Three touchdowns.

Speaker 1 For me to feel like

Speaker 1 because next week is Packers and the onslaught of the NFC North, so I know what's coming.

Speaker 1 They have to look so good that I have no choice but to say the Bears are back and I feel really good about the rest of the season.

Speaker 9 On the flip side, is there what percentage hope or desire is there for the Patriots to win by three touchdowns and Hebrew Flues is gone?

Speaker 1 They've never fired a coach midseason.

Speaker 9 So what percentage is there?

Speaker 1 If I thought there was a chance they would fire him, that would be a nice consolation prize after rumbling, though.

Speaker 1 There's rumblings, but there's been the street before. But there's been rumblings before, and it just doesn't, it doesn't, they don't, they're cheap.

Speaker 8 Are the rumblings in the room with you right now? Because I feel like the rumbling in the streets, no, I mean, I just

Speaker 1 heard the rumbling

Speaker 9 driving down the street, and people stop my car and say, hey,

Speaker 8 I think they're from people that talk into a microphone for a living. He's saying they want him fired.

Speaker 1 He's saying the rumblings are coming out of my mouth.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Which they are.
But they're also not because he's not going to get fired mid-season. But that would be the smart thing.

Speaker 1 If they lost this game, it would be smart for the Bears to move on from Matt Eberflues and then get a jump start on whoever's going to be next, which that will be a disaster in its own right.

Speaker 8 I'm guessing it's not possible to hire a coach who's under contract for another team in the middle of the season.

Speaker 1 Mike Rabel?

Speaker 8 Mike Frabel. He's out there.

Speaker 1 Listen. He's a consolidated team.

Speaker 8 Mike Rabel is an independent contractor right now.

Speaker 1 I would love the Bears to hire Mike Rabel. I don't think they'd hire Mike Rabel.
I don't think they'll ever hire an Alpha who

Speaker 1 is bigger than the organization ever since Dikka. That just won't happen.
They're just going to hire someone meek.

Speaker 1 And

Speaker 1 Schefter has just been on an assault train. He said that Ben Johnson is,

Speaker 1 he's like, if there's eight interview openings, Ben Johnson will not talk to all eight.

Speaker 1 Whoever he talks to is someone that he's expecting to take the job, essentially saying he's not going to go to the Bears.

Speaker 8 Okay, so I know why you would think that, but I also saw no less than three three different franchises thinking that that was about them. Who else? So I saw the Jaguars.

Speaker 1 That probably is about them.

Speaker 8 Thinking that it was about them.

Speaker 1 But it could be, but that was kind of what Schefter was saying. Yeah.
He was saying there could be eight openings and Ben Johnson could only take two interviews.

Speaker 8 Yeah, and then I saw the Jets thinking that Adam Schefter was.

Speaker 1 Probably about them as well.

Speaker 8 So he's sending a message to.

Speaker 1 All the dysfunctional franchises,

Speaker 1 don't get your hopes up. This guy has the pick of the litter and he's not going to go somewhere where he thinks he can fail.

Speaker 8 Counterpoint, you got Caleb Williams. Yeah.
Right? Like any other franchise. I guess you could say that the same thing for the Jaguars.

Speaker 8 They have Trevor Lawrence, who would probably be an interesting project for a good offensive mind. Aaron Rodgers would be the same way, but he's old.

Speaker 1 They've taken the fight out of me. I don't know what to say.

Speaker 8 Taken the fight out of me. So

Speaker 8 there's no bad blood between you and Hank right now?

Speaker 1 No, I have no fight left.

Speaker 1 This is the game to recharge my fight.

Speaker 1 If they win this game convincingly, my fight will be recharged for the Packers. If they squeak out a win or lose this game, I will continue to have no fight.

Speaker 8 I have a question for the producers as part of my take.

Speaker 8 Yes. From a production standpoint and a numbers standpoint, what is the optimal outcome for this game? Is it for Hank's Patriots to just crush Big Cat's dreams? Yes.
Or is it for

Speaker 1 Big Cat?

Speaker 8 Or is it for Big Cat to beat the fuck out of Hank and talk all the shit to him?

Speaker 1 No, I'm not even going to talk shit because

Speaker 1 I think this season is just

Speaker 1 fucked up beyond belief. Fubar I want I need I need you to be excited for the Packers yeah that's what that's that's what the sickos are wanting I want you to win by

Speaker 1 14 I don't know if the if the sickos and perverts are rooting for a bears resounding victory because knowing how my brain works and how reactionary I am

Speaker 1 I will get myself hyped to be like, we're going to beat the Packers.

Speaker 3 You want me to tell you what I really want?

Speaker 1 What?

Speaker 12 I want to make a remake of

Speaker 12 the last year.

Speaker 3 What? Remember

Speaker 3 that clip that we made of you going back and forth on whether you're going to be able to do that?

Speaker 1 Yeah, that's what's going to happen. I know that.
Yo, that's going to happen. I mean, it is.
It's a week-to-week league for me.

Speaker 1 Although this year, it's not been a roller coaster.

Speaker 1 It's been like the first part of a roller coaster. I just went up, up, up, and then straight down.
It hasn't been back up.

Speaker 3 No, we could get some clips from that Titans game.

Speaker 1 No, because I was like, I mean, we won that game. Yeah, but middle of the game.
But

Speaker 1 I still was staying positive.

Speaker 5 It was week one.

Speaker 1 You need, for for the clip to actually work i need to go back up i'm there was

Speaker 1 in the jaguars game there was a little bit of up no i'm saying i i'm saying the season has been like a little steady up up up up and now it's going down we for max to make the clip he needs me to go back up again yeah because otherwise it's just going to be me it's just one clip of me going up and then just straight down

Speaker 1 correct yeah so you need a you need a big win and me to be excited about the packers Then we lose to the Packers and I'm back down. Yeah.
But

Speaker 1 I'm not allowing my... I'll say

Speaker 1 14.

Speaker 3 Actually,

Speaker 1 17.

Speaker 1 I'll settle for 17. 17 will be hopes up.

Speaker 1 17 will be hopes up.

Speaker 8 Longest home winning streak in the NFL. Yeah, nine games.

Speaker 1 Can't win on the road. Can't win on the road.
Okay, next game. Broncos and Chiefs.
Chiefs are plus 56 point differential, which is the lowest for an undefeated team through eight games.

Speaker 8 Interesting. So there are 25 teams since 1979 that started the season 8-0.
If you go off DVOA, the Chiefs would be 18th. So they'd be kind of in the middle on that one.

Speaker 1 But I still think they're the best team, and not name the Lions. Yeah.

Speaker 8 If they had to score 40 points a game to win some of these games, they probably would be able to figure out a way somehow to

Speaker 1 if they have to have a third down, they'll get a third down. I'm very curious to see how Bo Nix bounces back

Speaker 1 and if the Broncos, because we, that was a step up in class last week, they got smoked. I do think you're never as bad as you were the week before, so maybe we get a good Broncos performance here.

Speaker 1 The only thing that is making me want to, Hank, maybe go Bo Nix and the Hungry Dog. That, I don't know.

Speaker 9 Okay, the only thing that's that was that was hard last week.

Speaker 1 The only thing that's making me think that is the Chiefs, I believe, are eight-point favorites right now.

Speaker 1 How many people conservatively in America are going to to tease the Chiefs?

Speaker 1 All of them? Yeah. Everyone's looking at it and being like, all right, tease the Chiefs, find another leg, good to go.

Speaker 1 That's the only thing that's making me think maybe the Broncos have a chance in this game, which is a dumb logic thing and also not in any type of analysis that is worth anything.

Speaker 8 Also, the Broncos defense plays well against the Chiefs. They do.
Last year,

Speaker 8 they played really well. Both games.
Both games, the defense was awesome against the Chiefs.

Speaker 1 Yeah, you're right. Could just do a hungry horse.

Speaker 1 okay broncos colts yeah

Speaker 9 okay you said you like the colts it's a good spot for them

Speaker 1 something to think about something to think about i also i mean i have stats for the chiefs the from sports info solutions uh spags defense brings extra rushers uh a lot and the chiefs are 10 top 10 in success rate when bringing extra rushers and the Broncos offense is bottom 10.

Speaker 1 So if they blitz Bonix, it could be a long day.

Speaker 8 Yeah. Bo Nicks, man, there's something about him.
I feel like if the defense can play good,

Speaker 8 having Bo Nicks be the first person to beat Patrick Mahomes this season would be like a perfect Bo Nicks.

Speaker 1 Oh, it'd be so great. It'd be so great.
But I don't think it's going to happen. But we'll see.

Speaker 1 Okay, next up. Game I'm very excited to talk about.
Ready for this, Hank? Game I'm very excited to talk about.

Speaker 1 What game do you think I'm going to say?

Speaker 9 Falcon Saints. Yes.

Speaker 1 That's exactly what I was going to say. That's a lie.
It's not a lie.

Speaker 1 I've done my research on Darren Rizzi, and I think I'm going to take the Saints.

Speaker 8 So I've done some, too. What did you pull up?

Speaker 1 All right, so I got a few.

Speaker 1 Foster Moreau said that for those of you that know Darren Rizzi, he's an unbelievable leader of men.

Speaker 1 Also, Darren Rizzi changed the layout of the locker room. Yep.
So he got all the position groups together.

Speaker 8 Which it makes you wonder why the position groups weren't together to begin with.

Speaker 1 They said maybe a COVID thing?

Speaker 8 It was a COVID thing.

Speaker 8 So during COVID, they spaced, they mixed up all the position groups so that way you couldn't have like, hypothetically, Blake Bortles coming in to play for your team and then he gets the entire quarterback room set.

Speaker 8 Yes. He might just be sitting next to like a backup tight end or something.
Hypothetically.

Speaker 8 Hypothetically, if Blake Bortles had happened to be on the Saints at any time during COVID season. Right.

Speaker 1 Hypothetically.

Speaker 1 He also said, I can promise a lot.

Speaker 1 I can promise passion, or I can't promise a lot. I can promise passion and I can promise fight.

Speaker 1 I think you can win a football game with passion and fight.

Speaker 8 But he went back in that press conference and he said again, like, you will see my team play with fight and passion. Yeah.
Those are like his two key words that he zeroed in on.

Speaker 8 I've got another thing about Ol Riz, the Rizzler.

Speaker 1 All right, I got two more as well, but you go with yours. Okay, so this is huge.

Speaker 8 They've added some sports science to their regimen. Okay.
And by that, I mean they're doing an activation period before every practice and every game. Oh, what is an activation period, you might ask?

Speaker 8 It's warming up. It's stretching.
It's getting a statement going.

Speaker 8 They were not stretching before games, okay. So he has added in stretching, which is huge.
That's got to be worth something.

Speaker 1 Very important, very important.

Speaker 8 The Saints haven't been injured or banged up or anything this season. No, not at all.
So I feel like this is a good thing that a professional football team is now stretching before games.

Speaker 1 Yeah, they're stretching. Yeah.
Okay, I like that. My other two,

Speaker 1 the Rizzlers, Darren Rizzler stats,

Speaker 1 he's a disciple of Dan Campbell. He considers Dan Campbell a mentor.
They had a long conversation. He said it was a great conversation.
He also talked to Bill Parcells.

Speaker 1 And then my last one, and this is kind of the cherry on top for will I, won't I bet on an interim head coach?

Speaker 1 I need some type of weird,

Speaker 1 not deformity, but something that's a little off. Darren Rizzi's ears are fucked up.
Yeah, they are. I don't know what the fuck is going on with his ears.
No offense to his ears.

Speaker 1 I don't know if you can pull it up memes. Max just went.
I don't know where he went.

Speaker 1 But they are.

Speaker 7 He's got like elf ears.

Speaker 9 Yeah,

Speaker 1 I tried to look up if he was a wrestler, but they're not cauliflower ears. They're just too low set.

Speaker 8 Yeah, no, he literally has low pad level on his ears.

Speaker 1 He looks like a Mr. Potato Head with the ears put on backwards.

Speaker 8 I don't know how much more we should talk about his ears. I don't know what...

Speaker 8 Like the reason why his ear, if he just has low ears.

Speaker 1 I think you can talk about his ears because I don't think those ears can hear.

Speaker 8 I don't think that those ears can withhold a pair of sunglasses.

Speaker 1 Right. No,

Speaker 1 it looks like he was wearing sunglasses made out of tungsten. Yeah, or that's what happened.

Speaker 8 Or like he just wore hats his entire life. Yeah.
And they just beat the ears down into submission.

Speaker 8 He's got, you know, those sunglasses that Oakley made for a little bit that wrap around the top of the head? Yep. That's what he has to wear on the sidelines.

Speaker 1 Yeah,

Speaker 1 his ears are something else. Again, no offense to Darren Rizzy.
We're betting on him, and I like him, but yeah, your ears, man.

Speaker 1 I like that he's got bad ears. Yeah.

Speaker 1 yeah it makes it more interesting yeah he also tried to come to uh dennis allen's defense and fight arthur smith who arthur smith's a friend but i do like the fight out of him yeah it's good he also he trolled uh tommy devito before their game last season you remember that yes he wore like the rival high school t-shirt yeah it was a new jersey high school off so we've got a proud italian in rizzi yeah so i darren rizzzy as for the falcons i i mean listen if this were not an interim head coach game i would probably hammer the falcons i think they're gonna have uh a field day

Speaker 1 with what the Saints do defensively, and they don't do a lot, and they don't do it well.

Speaker 1 The Falcons run 87% of their plays out of 11 personnel, and the Saints are worse at defending 11 personnel. Sorry, 26th in the NFL.
So really bad. Really bad at defending 11 personnel.
I don't know.

Speaker 1 Drake London not playing, I would assume.

Speaker 8 I don't think that he is. Yeah, so maybe

Speaker 1 Olave not playing. Olave definitely not playing.
He's seeing a specialist. Pretty scary.
I think that's his fourth concussion in three years.

Speaker 1 So, yeah, that doesn't feel like a good situation.

Speaker 8 It's a rivalry game. Like, these two teams actually do hate each other.
Every time they play, it seems like something happens.

Speaker 8 And

Speaker 8 I feel like this

Speaker 8 three-week window for the Saints is Derek Carr's only opportunity to get away from seeing what mean people are saying about him, specifically his former teammates. Yeah.

Speaker 8 So this is a three-hour gap in his week where he won't have to worry about reading Michael Thomas saying anything mean about him.

Speaker 1 But he he probably knows while he's playing that it's happening.

Speaker 8 Like every time, if he throws a pick, I think he thinks about Michael Thomas before he gets to the sideline. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah. I'm, I'm, if Drake London is not playing, which I believe he won't be, I'm Pitts.
It's a Pitts game, calling it right now, Kyle Pitts.

Speaker 1 Vibes.

Speaker 1 You love Pitts. I do love Pitts.
I love everyone on the Falcons. I've always been obsessed with Falcons first-round picks.
This goes back for like 10 years.

Speaker 1 They just accumulate first-round picks, and I am a draft

Speaker 1 guru at heart. Where if you're a first-round pick, you're really, really good for the rest of your life in my eyes.

Speaker 1 Even after you're a bust, I'm like, I mean, I still think Kevin White could be explosive on the field.

Speaker 8 Well, every Falcons' first-round pick on offense just looks awesome when you wear the Falcons uniform. Yeah.
Like, this guy's fast and strong.

Speaker 1 Yeah. So, yeah, I believe in the Falcons.

Speaker 1 Kirco is playing well.

Speaker 8 Kirko, opportunity to walk in the trap.

Speaker 1 He's playing well.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 49ers at Bucks. Henry, is Christian McCaffrey playing? Yeah, I think he is.
Oh,

Speaker 1 okay.

Speaker 1 Per you. This is per you, not the word.
Per you. From the man who brought you Christian McCaffrey might retire, he is now bringing you.

Speaker 9 I never said that.

Speaker 1 He might play.

Speaker 9 Never said that.

Speaker 9 It looks like he's playing.

Speaker 1 Okay. From what I've seen.
Okay.

Speaker 9 I feel like he's playing.

Speaker 9 And I'm happy I didn't say that he was going to retire because I would look really dumb.

Speaker 1 Yeah, you would.

Speaker 8 I feel like a lot of tight ends in this game: Otten and Kittle.

Speaker 1 Problem with Otten is Fred Warner. Yep, that's true.
Just throwing it out there. I like the 49ers in this game off the point.

Speaker 8 But who else do the Bucs have, really?

Speaker 5 They don't have anyone else.

Speaker 8 Yeah, so it's like they're going to. Sterling Shepherd? They're going to have to scheme open Otten.

Speaker 1 No, they don't have Scotty Miller anymore. I think he's on the Steelers.
He is. Yeah.

Speaker 8 Bucky.

Speaker 1 I think this is a 49ers reset. Like, the 49ers went on a buy.
They've had a tough start to the season, but they look up and no one, and the division is right there. Yeah.
You know what I mean? Like,

Speaker 1 they're not sitting there. It'd be one thing if they were 4-4 and there was a 7-1 team in their division.

Speaker 1 That's not the case. I think they have everything in front of them, and this is where they start playing good football.

Speaker 8 And this is the classic Kyle Shanhan position to be in. If you look back at his career as a head coach before the buy,

Speaker 8 the record is 500 right now, right?

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 8 That's actually an improvement of what they usually are before the buy. Yep.
Because they're usually a 400 football team before the buy.

Speaker 8 And then over the course of his career after the buy, they're a 700 football team. This is where he starts cooking.

Speaker 8 So this is legitimately the place that you can point to every year and be like, after this little mini break, they're just going to run the table.

Speaker 1 Yeah, and I just, I feel like the Bucs, they've had really good effort the last couple weeks, although the Falcons game was closer than it, like the final score was closer than what the actual play was.

Speaker 1 I just think this might be where it just, it's like, damn, I wish we had Mike Evans and Chris Godwin out here because we can't go blow for blow with the 49ers, especially if CMC is back.

Speaker 8 And if you play as well as they play it against the Chiefs and then you lose and you don't go for it at the end, I feel like that's a very deflated way to lose a football game. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 8 And I should specify with the Kyle Shanhan thing, it's true that all of his teams improve drastically after the bye, like night and day football teams.

Speaker 5 But

Speaker 8 the first game after the bye, he's not that great. I think he's 4-3 in that very first game.
Okay, but just look for the season to start improving now.

Speaker 1 Yeah, the four-niners are gonna go on a little run.

Speaker 1 All right, biggest game of the noon slate:

Speaker 1 Steelers and Commanders.

Speaker 1 Game will be sound.

Speaker 1 How many games do we have at noon?

Speaker 8 I think seven. I think there are four buys this week.
I think

Speaker 1 there might be four. Four buys plus Germany.

Speaker 8 Are there four buys? Yeah, the Raiders,

Speaker 8 the Seahawks, the Packers, the Browns.

Speaker 1 One, two, three,

Speaker 1 four, seven. Perfect.
So we'll have all the games on, and we'll do sound for Steelers, Commanders.

Speaker 1 I am very excited for this game because I think this is a

Speaker 1 not a measuring stick because I think both these teams are good. I think it's going to be like

Speaker 1 which one is more for real? And when I say which one is more for real, I'm talking about the commanders' offense or the Steelers' defense.

Speaker 8 Yeah, I think

Speaker 8 whichever team wins this game, I think that team is going to win their division. Yeah, and

Speaker 1 I think they could maybe be thinking soupy.

Speaker 1 So the reason why I say specifically the Steelers' defense, the commanders' offense, because you could look at it and say the Steelers' defense has faced the following quarterbacks, Kirk Cousins, first game back after Achilles.

Speaker 1 Bo Nick's rookie, a very hurt Justin Herbert, Anthony Richardson, the 17th best quarterback in Dak Prescott, Gardner Minshew,

Speaker 1 Aaron Rodgers, and Daniel Jones. Not exactly

Speaker 1 Jaden Daniels been playing better than all all the guys I just listed.

Speaker 1 And then on the other side, the Commanders' offense has not faced a top 10 in DVOA defense. The best defense they faced was the Bears,

Speaker 1 who, you know, they scored one touchdown at the end of the game. The Steelers, the eighth-best defense DVOA.
So is it the Steelers' defense is a little

Speaker 1 bit worse than we think, or is the Commanders' offense a little bit worse than we think? That's what I'm excited to find this out.

Speaker 8 Yeah, and the Commanders' best win this season, you can make the argument, has been their loss to the Ravens. Yeah.
That was like the thing that you can point at and be like,

Speaker 8 this is why we think that the Commanders are a legitimately good football team and not just beating up on a relatively soft schedule because they've beaten a lot of bad teams for sure.

Speaker 8 And to have Pittsburgh come into Washington, it's tough because Pittsburgh, they bring their towels.

Speaker 8 There have been numerous games where it's been the Steelers at whatever Washington name is in place at that point, where they've had to go to a hard count at home.

Speaker 8 And there's a little bit of towel judo going on this week.

Speaker 8 So

Speaker 8 the commanders are passing out burgundy towels and hoping that when the yellow towels are waving, the burgundy ones are also waving.

Speaker 1 It's just going to look like a cool autumn tree.

Speaker 8 Or it looks like the Redskins commander's colors.

Speaker 1 Yes, this is burgundy and gold. This is the foliage game.

Speaker 8 Yeah, they're like, we can't keep the towels out, but if we add our towels, then it'll look like your towels are actually our towels. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Well, unless there's more terrible towels.

Speaker 8 Unless there's, well, if there's like way more yellow, then it's an issue. But keep your eyes on the towel storyline.

Speaker 1 The Commanders, sorry, Mike Tomlin, by the way, is

Speaker 1 career 26-6 straight up in games against rookie quarterbacks. And also, this is obviously a Mike Tomlin road underdog spot where he's 41, 28, and 1 against the spread.

Speaker 8 Yeah, so Mike Tomlin underdog on the road.

Speaker 1 Off a bye.

Speaker 8 Off a bye, where the Steelers are 13-4 after the bye under Tomlin.

Speaker 8 I don't feel comfortable about this game, and I'm very uncomfortable about TJ Watt because he does bad things to good quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 The Commanders are 11 for 11 on fourth down this year, which is leads the league. Pretty crazy.
Yep. And we got Lattimore.

Speaker 8 I don't know if Lattimore is going to be playing this weekend. I figured that when we got him, it was going to be the Devontae Adams situation where he's like, oh, my hamstring's actually good.

Speaker 8 It's the elevation that made it better. I want to kiss guys, and my hamstring doesn't hurt anymore.
But I don't know if he's going to be playing or if he's going to be playing a a meaningful amount.

Speaker 12 I asked you that question seriously the other day and you just laughed in my face.

Speaker 1 Is that true? I did. Oh, it is a hamstring.

Speaker 3 I'm sure that hamstring really feels good.

Speaker 8 That's a very accurate representation of that shit.

Speaker 1 What were you going to say about this game, Max?

Speaker 1 Jerry vs. PFT in the gambling cave.
Jerry versus PFT. Yeah.
Jerry's nervous? No, he's not. He's not at all.

Speaker 1 No, no, he's nervous. He was like, do I give it to him the way that I gave it to you, or will he give it back to me? Because I'm nervous.

Speaker 8 I'll give it to Jerry. If Jerry wants to give it to me, I'll give it right back.

Speaker 9 There's going to be a lot of giving in that cave on Sunday at 12 o'clock.

Speaker 8 A lot of given.

Speaker 3 I think we will find out a lot about both teams in this game.

Speaker 1 That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 It's seriously, like, if the commanders' offense looks incredible,

Speaker 1 I'm going to be like, holy shit, they're a lot better than I even expected. I think they're very good, and the Steelers' defense is maybe a little fraudulent.
And if it's the reverse,

Speaker 1 if the Steelers' defense dominates and be like, damn, this Steelers' defense might be the best defense in the league. Yeah.

Speaker 1 That's that's where the, like, the, I love this matchup and I love, I can't wait to watch this game.

Speaker 8 Yeah, Jerry asked me earlier in the week before the trade deadline if I would call DK Metcalf for him and see if he would like to be traded to the Steelers.

Speaker 8 And I said, Jerry, I can't, I can't do that because we're playing this weekend. Yeah, he understood.
He understands that. Fair, Jerry.
He said, fair. Jerry and I are not friends this week.

Speaker 1 Yeah, he said fair. He said, fair.

Speaker 9 Terrible towels.

Speaker 1 What about it?

Speaker 9 You guys are doing the terrible towels.

Speaker 1 Yeah. The maroon towels.
Yeah. Burgundy.
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 8 Burgundy. We discussed the whole towel situation.
Yeah. Yeah.
I might have to get a towel.

Speaker 1 You should. I will.
Jerry would not like that. He's going to have to bring his towel.

Speaker 8 Things could get messy.

Speaker 1 Things could get real messy. Better bring it off.

Speaker 1 I'll bring Stu's 15, 15, 30 towel.

Speaker 8 There you go. Come right.
It will be chaos in the gambling cave, though, because it'll be me and Jerry yelling at each other, sitting right next to each other.

Speaker 8 And then it's going to be Hank and Big Cat

Speaker 8 yelling each other out to see how hard they should yell at me.

Speaker 1 Again, I have no fight. I have no fight.
I don't know what you want to say. I can't fake the fight.
I got some fight.

Speaker 1 I'll bring the fight out.

Speaker 8 Is this going to be like the NCAA tournament?

Speaker 1 It totally depends on how they play. Like, if the Bears come out and start playing well,

Speaker 1 I will rebuild my fight.

Speaker 1 I'm basically like

Speaker 1 the Ninja Turtles game where

Speaker 1 my health is like this. I need a couple pizzas.

Speaker 1 And the pizzas are touchdowns. And if I can can get the pizzas, my fight will come back and I'll be revived.

Speaker 8 Just run over a stem kit real quick.

Speaker 1 Yeah,

Speaker 1 that's how I feel right now.

Speaker 3 Memes keeps talking about there's some terrible towel curse that if you try and mess with the juju.

Speaker 1 Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 That is true.

Speaker 8 That is very, very true that when you try to fuck with it, if you're the Tennessee Titans who fucked with it a couple times, I forget who else had disrespect for the terrible towel. I don't think

Speaker 8 I don't think that this is disrespect for the terrible towel, is it?

Speaker 9 I think that we should get, we should figure it out either

Speaker 9 me and Jerry both do Steelers Patriots and you two both do Commanders Bears or the opposite, where me and PFT both threw Commanders Patriots and you and Jerry both threw Bears, Steelers.

Speaker 9 What do you mean do? Bet. Just for, so it's just even more chaos.

Speaker 3 I'm down to do Steelers Patriots or

Speaker 3 Steelers Bears.

Speaker 1 We'll figure it out. Either one of those, to be honest.

Speaker 9 But I think that would make it even more chaotic.

Speaker 8 I'm okay with Commie's Bears.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 8 We'll figure it out. So, memeba.

Speaker 8 I just found this. Back in 2016, the Redskins did the Burgundy Towels, and they lost 38-16.
Shit. So we're bringing back

Speaker 8 loser towels.

Speaker 8 I've got a good scapegoat if we lose, though. Yeah, towels.

Speaker 1 It was a towels. Towels.

Speaker 1 Vikings and Jaguars, are we getting Mac Jones?

Speaker 8 I think it's going to be Mac, yeah.

Speaker 1 That's going to be hilarious.

Speaker 1 So Trevor Lawrence has a shoulder injury. Mac Jones.
Now, Hank, now you have another game.

Speaker 8 Are you rooting for Mac?

Speaker 9 I got no bad blood towards Mac. I don't think he's going to win this game, but.

Speaker 1 Is it official that it's not official that it's Mac Jones? No, I don't think it is. Oh, is it?

Speaker 9 I think Trevor Lawrence is officially not playing.

Speaker 8 I think that I saw a rap sheet say unlikely that Trevor Lawrence will play.

Speaker 1 Is that baked in the line already, or is the line move? I saw four and a half earlier. Oh, no, it's seven.

Speaker 1 Wow, I got lucky with my picks earlier. Yes.

Speaker 8 The return of the Mac.

Speaker 1 Okay, so Mac Jones, he's going to be in for it with the Brian Fleur's blitz.

Speaker 8 And they're playing with the white helmets. The Shell White Helmets for the Jags.

Speaker 1 Can I see them, please? I would like to see the Shell.

Speaker 1 Max, please pull up the Shell White Helmets for the Jags.

Speaker 1 I'm going to give a gut instinct whether I like it or not. Just straight up.
Let's see.

Speaker 1 Hit it. I like them.

Speaker 1 Now it's a good one. Don't be fooled by the blur.
No, yeah, that's a gut. There's something about the teal and the white just kind of pop.

Speaker 8 Yeah, Shell White, baby.

Speaker 1 Yeah, let's see him.

Speaker 8 See?

Speaker 8 The blur did a lot of work on it, didn't it?

Speaker 1 I'm taking it back. I'm walking it back.
I just saw it in real life. I'm walking it back.
You did your gut, though. Yeah, but that was because of the blur.

Speaker 1 No, but the blur.

Speaker 8 It was an icy, icy blur.

Speaker 1 You can't do the Photoshop blur. I want to see it, how it looks in person.
And then you also have to think about Mac Jones wearing it.

Speaker 8 Well, your gut reaction to it was when you saw Trevor Lawrence, you were like,

Speaker 8 but Mac Jones might look icy. All right, wait, let's see this.

Speaker 1 Oh my.

Speaker 8 The teal of the mouth is pretty cool.

Speaker 1 The teal is, yeah, I wish there was a little more teal.

Speaker 8 They should not call that Shell White, call that teal tongue.

Speaker 1 Okay, I'll stick with it. I like it.
Fine. I like it.

Speaker 1 Are they wearing white jerseys too, or no?

Speaker 8 I'm not sure.

Speaker 1 And again, this is, people are going to be like, oh, well, you hated the Packers' white helmets. This is

Speaker 1 my exact point. If you're the Jaguars, you're a franchise that should be like Oregon.
You should just wear different uniforms every week. Yeah, the Jaguars.

Speaker 1 You have no real history to fall back on here. You just do it.

Speaker 8 It was like four years ago they had the two-tone helmets where it was like half gold and half black.

Speaker 1 The crazier, the weirder things that you do, the more I probably am in on it. Yeah.

Speaker 8 Those old ones, they used to look like Antonio Brown's mustache.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Okay. So you got to be on Mac Watch now, too, Hank.

Speaker 1 Mac Jones.

Speaker 9 I might do Hungry Horse Parlay and Hungry Cat Parlay.

Speaker 1 Hungry Cat Parlay? What about Jack's Panthers? Hungry Bird Parlay?

Speaker 9 Are there two Hungry Birds?

Speaker 1 The Cardinals and the Seahawks on a bye, you said?

Speaker 8 I did not say the Seahawks.

Speaker 1 The Cardinals.

Speaker 1 They're a bird.

Speaker 8 You can also, at some point, do the Hungry Pirate parlay.

Speaker 1 Do the uniforms, real quick, they are voting voting on how they want to wear perfect.

Speaker 3 It has to be black jerseys, but the team is voting for what they want for pant sock combo to be.

Speaker 1 You can do that? I guess. This is Jaguars.
They can do anything.

Speaker 3 Each player voted for their favorite pant slash socket to be worn. They have to wear black jerseys.

Speaker 1 I think you got to go all black. All black looks sick.

Speaker 1 All black, or you got to go

Speaker 1 all white bottoms. The top left looks too much like a Panthers.
Yeah. That's the Panthers.
Bottom right, I hate. Yeah, bottom right and top left are bad.

Speaker 1 So it's all black or all white on the lower half. One of those two.
All black looks good.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 That was our jersey talk for the week. Vikings are good.
And also Doug Peterson, kind of a diss at Sam Donald.

Speaker 8 I would say so.

Speaker 1 Yeah, they asked why is Sam Donald turning around this year? And he just laughed. He said, Justin Jefferson.
But also, not totally untrue.

Speaker 8 Yeah, I think it's a very reasonable thing to say, but it was coaches usually don't say stuff like that before games. Yeah.
They're usually like, well, he's playing very well.

Speaker 8 Trevor Lawrence is going to be pissed off. Trevor Lawrence, it's unfortunate that he's not playing because he is one of the best quarterbacks against the Blitz.
Yeah.

Speaker 8 You wouldn't know that, but he's really, really good for the last three seasons against the Blitz, and that's obviously what Brian Flores is going to do. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Mac Jones against the Blitz? I don't know, but I'm going to guess it's probably not great.

Speaker 8 Probably not.

Speaker 1 Probably not great.

Speaker 8 Is it better than normal Mac Jones? That's really what we have to ask. Yeah.
Like, is he better against the Blitz than he is not against the Blitz?

Speaker 1 I just hope if Mac Jones plays, we get one funny interception or fumble. Oh, you will.
Just for just for throwback's sake. Okay.

Speaker 1 Afternoon games. Titans at Chargers.
Boys, this is a must-win for our Chargers' future. I think we all agree.
They got some tough games coming up.

Speaker 1 We're going to talk about it with... Ron Rivera, which was an awesome interview, so make sure you listen.
But the Titans have the second worst special teams all time, only to the 2010 Chargers,

Speaker 1 which was the team that went first in offense, first in defense, last in special teams, and missed the playoffs at 9-7.

Speaker 8 I think a lot of that is also baked into that Lions win. Yeah.
Remember that when it was.

Speaker 1 No, I mean, we blocked a punt against them week one.

Speaker 8 That's true.

Speaker 1 They've had some bad. And didn't the Jets run a punt back on them, memes?

Speaker 1 Or at least to like the 20-yard line?

Speaker 1 In the Titans-Jets game. Giant.

Speaker 1 Wasn't there a big special teams play? I want to say there was. Did we block the punt too? You might have blocked a punt.
They're bad. They're bad.
No, we blocked a punt. We blocked a punt.

Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah. They're bad special teams.

Speaker 8 We had 2010 Chargers special teams is like

Speaker 8 by far the worst.

Speaker 8 They were so, so bad that season. So to even be compared to them, you know that they're bad.

Speaker 1 Yeah, and they, like, it's the weirdest stat that you had a team first in offense, first in defense, miss the playoffs. But if you look back at their games, you can point to like six games.

Speaker 1 It's like, oh, if our special teams wasn't the worst, we would have won this game.

Speaker 8 Yeah, so the Titans are ranked first in total defense, and they're ranked.

Speaker 1 Yards allowed, I think.

Speaker 8 Yeah, yeah, in total defense, and then also first in pass defense.

Speaker 1 Yeah, they're good defensively. That's why I can't quit them.

Speaker 8 And they're allowing 26.6 points a game, even though they have the best defense.

Speaker 1 Short fields. Yeah.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 I'm nervous about this game for the Chargers because it does feel a little bit...

Speaker 1 Like it's just going to be a bully ball fest back and forth.

Speaker 8 Yeah, so if you're doing a visualization for this game, it feels like maybe Chargers 3-0 in the first quarter,

Speaker 8 and then they score a touchdown in the second quarter, another field goal. So now you're looking at 13 to 0.

Speaker 8 And then they score another field goal at the start of the third quarter, and then absolutely nothing happens after that. Yeah.

Speaker 8 They just run the ball, punt like 60% of the time, and go on one drive that's like eight minutes long. Yep.
And get zero points, and they end up winning 20 to 0. That feels right.

Speaker 8 I feel like you just said feels right. Maybe 20 to 7.

Speaker 1 Yeah, that feels right.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 Eagles and Cowboys.

Speaker 1 Dak hamstring torn off the bone. I feel like they just added that part so everyone would be like, oh, he's actually hurt.

Speaker 8 No, when they add that part to me, I think that sounds delicious.

Speaker 1 Hamstring off the bone.

Speaker 1 Steve Young, by the way, speaking of delicious, he said this week on his radio hit,

Speaker 1 the Cowboys are so freaking cooked, which is about as much as Steve Young would ever swear.

Speaker 8 Again, it sounds like something I want to eat. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Max, are you nervous about this game? Cooper Rush?

Speaker 3 The only nervousness comes from like,

Speaker 3 yes, yes, I am nervous.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 3 But it's because it seems too easy.

Speaker 1 It does. I've been saying.
A.J.

Speaker 3 Brown is back at practice.

Speaker 1 I've been saying everywhere that Saquon's going to run for 200 yards because, I mean, the Cowboys can't stop the run, and it's just going to be bullyball by the Eagles.

Speaker 3 There's still something about playing

Speaker 3 at Jerry World. It's Cooper Rush, though.
There's no way we can lose to Cooper Rush.

Speaker 8 So you guys beat Cooper Rush the last time you played him, but Cooper Rush, I think he won his first four games when he came in as a backup last time.

Speaker 8 And if you're wondering, like, what peak Cowboys would be, is they're they're lower than you think that they can ever get right now. Like, everyone's giving up on the season.

Speaker 8 If Cooper Rush comes in and has the offense looking competent, that is actually peak cowboys.

Speaker 8 When the backup quarterback that has like a third of the physical tools that Dak Prescott has comes in and wins football games as Dak is very sadly recovering from scrumptious sounding injury,

Speaker 8 that is peak cowboys right there. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Fun, Lane Johnson is a freak stat of the week. He's played in eight games this year, and he's given up two pressures.

Speaker 1 Not two sacks.

Speaker 1 Two pressures.

Speaker 8 He's so good. Pressures.

Speaker 1 Pressures. Not sacks.
Pressures.

Speaker 8 He's so good.

Speaker 3 You're like, one of those was a sack, though.

Speaker 1 Oh, okay.

Speaker 3 Just saying.

Speaker 1 Hey, that's good accountability. Yeah.

Speaker 8 Yeah, we could have skated by on that.

Speaker 3 Yeah, that's me, you know, hand up.

Speaker 1 Max, so you think it's too easy, right? That's where it makes you scared? Correct. Would it be as easy as

Speaker 1 Villanova beating an Ivy League team in basketball?

Speaker 12 There's no way we talk about college basketball on November 7th.

Speaker 1 I'm asking, in a scale of easiness, when you're Villanova basketball, home of many national titles, and you see an Ivy League school, not even a Princeton or a Yale who's been in the tournament, you see Columbia.

Speaker 8 I thought they were playing a South American team. I thought there was like an exhibition.
I know how.

Speaker 1 Is it that easy?

Speaker 3 I know how to tie this all around.

Speaker 3 During my thoughts last night, I'm

Speaker 1 during my thoughts.

Speaker 1 I love

Speaker 8 his brain like it's a TV show.

Speaker 1 Yeah, because you sit

Speaker 1 down.

Speaker 1 You sat down and turned it on.

Speaker 1 You're like, all right, here we go. Thoughts time.
Thoughts time.

Speaker 3 I was having thoughts, and

Speaker 3 I will not say a bad word about Nick Siriani for the rest of the year.

Speaker 1 That's bullshit.

Speaker 3 I will not say a bad word about Nick Siriani for the rest of the year.

Speaker 1 That's as much bullshit as me saying I'm not going to tell myself to the Bears Canada.

Speaker 3 You don't have to watch Kyle Neptune coach basketball.

Speaker 1 Well, I actually could.

Speaker 8 Do you think Kyle Neptune's a worse coach than Nick Siriani?

Speaker 8 Without question. Oh.

Speaker 1 Why would you say that? Have they lost this year? They lose to everyone.

Speaker 3 He has more.

Speaker 9 College basketball started.

Speaker 1 Who'd you guys play? Was it preseason?

Speaker 3 We lost to Columbia.

Speaker 1 Columbia?

Speaker 3 In two years and two games, Kyle Neptune has lost seven games to teams above 100 on the Ken Pom.

Speaker 3 Jay Wright lost to two in his last nine years coaching there.

Speaker 3 Seven to two for four times as many years.

Speaker 8 Did you pay them? Yes.

Speaker 8 You paid Columbia? Yes.

Speaker 1 Oh, by game, that's the epitome of brutality.

Speaker 6 We pay our entire roster. Their roster pays to go to school.

Speaker 8 Villenova's, they should be a Fortune 500 company.

Speaker 1 And they're not.

Speaker 1 But,

Speaker 1 okay.

Speaker 1 Kyle Neptune, where did he coach before? Spin zone it's November. Fordham.

Speaker 1 Who is like, let's just look up like what?

Speaker 1 500 at Fordham. But Kyle Neptune's like first game ever at Fordham.
Who'd they play? I don't know. Let's just, I mean,

Speaker 1 I'm trying to spin this positively. Fordham, what year did he start at Fordham?

Speaker 3 He only coached our for one year.

Speaker 1 What year was it? It was. So pull up this Fordham schedule from what year?

Speaker 3 If he started, I'm trying to do math.

Speaker 1 Get math done.

Speaker 3 So it would have been 2021?

Speaker 1 Okay, so pull up Fordham's 2021 schedule.

Speaker 3 2021, 22 season.

Speaker 1 Look, he can turn this thing around.

Speaker 3 No, but this is three years in a row.

Speaker 1 He lost to Portland his first year. He lost to Hills last year.
Whoa, whoa. And he lost to Clinton.
Let's see his first game. Because you can get better, dude.
You can get better.

Speaker 1 His first game at Fordham.

Speaker 1 This is his first game at Fordham. Let's see.
Pull it up.

Speaker 1 Are you going the right way? I think. Wait, yeah.
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 20. Wait, wait, what? Oh, there's one.
Oh, wait, no, no, just stop right there. There's one.

Speaker 5 I saw it.

Speaker 1 I'm doing bad. November, November, right there.
November.

Speaker 1 Keep going. Keep going.
Keep going. There it is.
November 9th, 2021. Fordham beat.
Oh, Columbia. Oh.
Shit.

Speaker 3 So, okay, this is the bit that you're doing.

Speaker 8 That's such a coincidence.

Speaker 3 This was the bit that you were doing. I did not know that stat.

Speaker 9 That took so long.

Speaker 1 It took way too long for Max to find it. He beat Columbia his first game ever in Fordham.

Speaker 1 Shit.

Speaker 3 He gave up 90 points to Columbia at home.

Speaker 6 Shut up.

Speaker 1 90 points. Shout out to AWO who tagged me in that tweet last night.
He's like, hey, Max, don't worry. Kyle Neptune, when his first game at Fordham beat Columbia.

Speaker 3 90 points at home to Columbia.

Speaker 8 So you're not going to say anything bad about Siriani because Neptune is so much worse.

Speaker 1 He just needed Fordham's roster.

Speaker 3 It just makes me wonder.

Speaker 3 How can I be upset with Nick Siriani for just continuing to win games

Speaker 3 when I root for a coach like Kyle Neptune?

Speaker 1 That's a really good perspective.

Speaker 3 Yeah, who is incapable of winning. It looks like an AAU.
I shouldn't be talking about Villanova. They look like an AAU team that just showed up and met each other for the first time.

Speaker 3 It looks like they've never played basketball together. And I don't want to hear the excuse.
Every team in college basketball has brand new players because of the transfer portal.

Speaker 8 Figure it out. Max, it's November, dude.

Speaker 1 Yeah, we're talking about football. Wow, you brought this up.
You brought this up.

Speaker 8 You know how many people are listening to the podcast?

Speaker 1 Yeah, you want to talk about the Sixers.

Speaker 8 You're talking about college basketball in early November?

Speaker 1 Sixers are tanking.

Speaker 1 Oh, man. All right, so the Eagles.
The Eagles.

Speaker 8 Kwan got drug tested. Oh, he did? Yeah, after the back.

Speaker 8 I don't know if they were testing him for PEDs or testing him for just stuff that'll fuck you up and make you think that it's a good idea to jump over somebody backwards. Yeah.

Speaker 8 But either way, yeah, he pissed in a cup this week.

Speaker 8 I like the Eagles too, but again, I keep going back and thinking about Maximum Cowboys, and that would be to have Cooper Rush get in and look really good.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I'd agree with that.

Speaker 1 Maximum Cowboys. Sounds like a movie I don't want to watch.

Speaker 8 That's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 8 What did Skip call it? Supreme. This is Supreme Debate.
Supreme Debate, yeah. Supreme Cowboys would be Cooper Rush getting in and winning by 10 points.

Speaker 1 Also, shout out to our guy, Skip. He got hacked on Tuesday night.

Speaker 8 That was tough. That was rough.

Speaker 1 That was really, really, really tough.

Speaker 1 The only criticism I have of the hacker is you should have done the funny thing and started following people. Yeah, that would have been good.
Yeah.

Speaker 8 But I really fucked with him. One of the funniest parts, he changed his avatar to LeBron James.
Oh, he did. That was great.

Speaker 1 Okay, that was good.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 Jets at Cardinals. Memes.

Speaker 1 Must win. Must win.

Speaker 1 I'm now nervous that we're favorites. Oh.

Speaker 1 Sunday, we were plus one, and now we're minus one and a half. Memes, I have some silver linings for you, okay?

Speaker 1 Trump, Donald Trump, is now the president-elect. He's going to be inaugurated on January 20th.

Speaker 1 Woody Johnson might become the ambassador of UK again, and that means he can't fuck up your team anymore.

Speaker 3 Yeah, but then we have Christopher Johnson.

Speaker 1 Well, he's probably good. Is he related to Woody?

Speaker 1 The brothers.

Speaker 8 They're not going to take him.

Speaker 1 What about Brick?

Speaker 1 Brick's probably gone.

Speaker 1 He's going to go to Iron. Unless we go on a run.
I saw Joe Douglas said when they asked him about his job. He said, whatever happens, happens.

Speaker 8 That's a good perspective to have on it. Good vibes.
Memes, how do you feel about Malachi Corley?

Speaker 1 That was an asshole statement.

Speaker 1 What did he say? He said he had over 200-plus touchdowns in his career, just just his playing football career.

Speaker 1 I shouldn't worry about crossing the goal line.

Speaker 8 This is the first time out of 200 times where he's dropped it before.

Speaker 1 Is he blaming the goal line? What? I don't understand. He's just saying

Speaker 1 he just has to cross six inches and he'll be fine.

Speaker 8 And he's just like, that was out of character for me. I usually don't drop the ball before you get to the end zone.
Just no accountability.

Speaker 8 They don't talk about all the parades that JFK was in that ended safely. You know? And I think that's a bit unfair to the Secret Service.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 I would agree. All the the challengers that didn't blow up.

Speaker 8 Yeah,

Speaker 8 we ended up getting to the moon.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 8 But yeah,

Speaker 8 Corley is now he's your third. Your number three now that Williams has gone or number two?

Speaker 1 Corley? Yeah.

Speaker 1 He'll be behind Xavier Gibson. Yeah, because Lazard's still hurt, right? Yeah.

Speaker 1 I think the Jets will win this game. I think the Cardinals are a very good team.

Speaker 1 The Cardinals still are not, outside of playing the Bears, they don't rush the passer great, and Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers when he has a clean pocket.

Speaker 1 It's when he gets chased around that he looks like old Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is still top five in everything right now, which is good sign.

Speaker 8 Top five in everything. Everything.
Everything. Soberist.

Speaker 1 Everything.

Speaker 8 Crystal ownership.

Speaker 1 Crystal ownership, yes.

Speaker 8 Do you see that when they brought Devontae over?

Speaker 8 And he went live on the McAfee show and they were interviewing Devontae and he had just a stack of crystals behind him because he was in Aaron Rodgers' house. The healing crystals.

Speaker 1 Vaccines.

Speaker 1 Not top five. Okay, so not top five in everything.

Speaker 5 Touchdowns.

Speaker 1 Top five.

Speaker 1 Yards. Top five.

Speaker 8 Completion percentage.

Speaker 1 Not sure top five with that, but yards. I mean, we touched on that.
That was the third stat we gave you.

Speaker 8 It's not a very common stat.

Speaker 1 That wasn't a. We didn't really push you that hard there.

Speaker 8 What about wins?

Speaker 1 Top 10. Top 10 in wins.
AFC. Okay, just so we're clear, he is not top five in touchdowns.

Speaker 1 He is

Speaker 1 seventh. He is

Speaker 1 not top five in yards.

Speaker 8 So none of that was true.

Speaker 1 He's not top five in completion percentage. What was I looking at?

Speaker 1 He is not top.

Speaker 8 You guys, I think this is kind of a sad point, and it took us this long to reach it, but I think Memes might be a Florio.

Speaker 1 I think he might be a Florio. Yeah.
He's just not

Speaker 8 all fake news.

Speaker 1 Not top five.

Speaker 3 Completion percentage, what number he is.

Speaker 8 I did say top five of that. What is it?

Speaker 1 But you said top five in everything. We have not.

Speaker 8 He's 29th, and you said he was top five?

Speaker 1 No, no. We've yet to find a stat that he's top five in.
Damn it. Rating, he's not top five.
QBR, he's not top five.

Speaker 8 Maybe rushing yards, big cat.

Speaker 1 Longest pass, not top five. Yards per game, not top five.
Damn it. I must have looked at it before they updated what did you look at he's top seven he's not top five he's top ten anything

Speaker 3 you looked at this after thursday night football

Speaker 1 yes you did yes yes you did

Speaker 1 yes you did

Speaker 1 yeah he was top two then oh my god memes he is literally not top five in a single stat oh this is embarrassing

Speaker 1 all right back to the game we just have to stop the run

Speaker 1 cardinals have a great are great at running the football. We are bad at stopping the run.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 We just need to focus on stopping the run, and I think the offense will be fine now that we have a top 10 passer in the league.

Speaker 1 Top 10. Top 10.

Speaker 8 Easily top 10. Top 10.

Speaker 1 Easily top 10. Easily top 10.
In what stats is he top 10? Oh, I can't believe I fucked that up.

Speaker 8 Is he actually top 10 in those stats?

Speaker 1 He is top 10 in yards, and he's top 10 in touchdowns. He's top 10 in interceptions.

Speaker 3 It was just after the Thursday night football before the rest of the team played. That's

Speaker 8 he top 10 in interceptions or lack of interceptions?

Speaker 1 No, interceptions. He's top 10.
He is nowhere. Oh, was it Monday night football? He was nowhere close to top 10 in completion percentage.
He's 28th.

Speaker 8 Yeah, 28th. Pretty bad.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 Wow. Okay.

Speaker 1 A lot of room for improvement. Just got to stop the run.

Speaker 1 We just got to pick up momentum from Thursday night football in that second half, which was beautiful. Bring that in Sunday, 4 o'clock.
This is a tough game. The Cardinals are good.

Speaker 1 I'm not sleeping on the Cardinals anymore.

Speaker 1 They've, what, won three in a row now. James Conner is a beast, which James Conner should be able to run the ball at will on you guys.

Speaker 1 It's just whether your offense can get going.

Speaker 8 Their pass rush is not good either. So Rodgers could have time.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 All right, last game. Lions and Texans.

Speaker 1 I don't want to do it again, but I kind of want to take the Texans. I've just been against the Lions.
And I say, I start every week with saying the Lions are the best team in the NFL.

Speaker 1 And then I'm like, ooh, three and a half at home for the Texans. Nico Collins might be back.
Yeah, I'm going to pass.

Speaker 8 It's something weird. I mean, the Texans' wide receivers have been injured, and they have not.
There's not been a game where I've said to myself, damn, this Texans' offense is in a rhythm right now.

Speaker 8 Yeah. And the Lions' offense is always, they're never out of rhythm.

Speaker 1 They roll out of bed in rhythm.

Speaker 8 Yeah, so was it four? Four points?

Speaker 1 Three and a half right now.

Speaker 8 Three and a half points. I mean, it's a sucker bet.
I feel like everybody's going to be betting on the Lions in this game.

Speaker 1 Especially Sunday night.

Speaker 8 Sunday night. Houston is wearing its battle red uniforms.

Speaker 1 The battle reds are out,

Speaker 8 which is cool.

Speaker 8 That's cool for a Sunday night game, the reflective red helmets. I don't know what the Lions are.
Are they going to be wearing their blues? No, that'd be Color Rush, right? So they can't do that.

Speaker 8 Nonetheless, I still think that I'm going to continue to bet on the Lions.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I think I'm going to join you

Speaker 1 because

Speaker 1 I don't want to be an idiot anymore. I feel like an idiot every single time.
But

Speaker 1 if there was a time the Texans would maybe bounce back, wouldn't it be this?

Speaker 8 I mean, this is, it's a good time for everyone else to bet on the Texans.

Speaker 8 I'm going to be betting on the Lions because I'm a sucker and I'm maybe the most public person in terms of just finding these sucker lines and going for them.

Speaker 1 Texans' defensive line, getting after Jared, but Jared's so good. It doesn't matter.
Yeah. Doesn't matter.

Speaker 8 Yeah, I think he's on pace right now to have the highest completion percentage in NFL history.

Speaker 1 I think that's Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 8 Oh, yeah, it's true. Well, Jared's top five.

Speaker 1 Top five.

Speaker 1 What a brutal top five for you.

Speaker 8 Chris being number one is top five.

Speaker 1 Top five in everything.

Speaker 8 Yeah, that was, that was, I love the confidence with which you said it, too.

Speaker 1 Everything. And it took about two seconds to pick it apart.

Speaker 3 Going from everything to nothing.

Speaker 1 Nothing. It's just, it's brutal.
We couldn't even find one. Without a single one.

Speaker 1 Everything. Everything.
It's still top five. He's top ten.
He's top ten. Everything.
You aren't memes. You are a Florio.
Yeah. Just spreading fake news the other way.

Speaker 8 You either die in memes or you live long enough to become a Florio.

Speaker 1 I am Italian. Yeah, you are Italian.

Speaker 1 Italian.

Speaker 1 It's okay, memes. All right.
Can we win a TD parlay?

Speaker 1 Can we do it? Who's up? I think we all fucked up last night.

Speaker 8 I fucked up.

Speaker 1 I think we all lost.

Speaker 8 Josh Allen. Not me.

Speaker 1 Oh, you had. I didn't say Kwan.
You had Kwan. Kwan.
All right, so Max stays in.

Speaker 1 Do you want to hop in for me? Hank, do you have someone you love?

Speaker 1 No, he doesn't. Okay, his brain froze.

Speaker 8 Bijan. Yeah.
Bijan Robinson.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 9 Jaden Daniels.

Speaker 1 Are you sure?

Speaker 9 Yeah, I think he's going to be. TJ's going to be chasing him.
He's going to scramble out of the pocket score.

Speaker 8 I'm scared. I'm scared of TJ Watt.

Speaker 1 I am.

Speaker 8 Don't do the stupid thing where you don't have anybody block TJ and let him run right down the line of scrimmage and easily make a tackle in the backfield. Don't do that.
He's too fast to do that.

Speaker 8 Stop doing that.

Speaker 1 Don't do that.

Speaker 1 Okay, so it's Jaden Daniels. It's Saquon again, Max.
Sure. Yep.

Speaker 3 Just put him in.

Speaker 1 And Bajan.

Speaker 8 Man, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 13 When you're hungry out there, you start acting like a rookie quarterback in his first game, making bad decisions, messing up the basics, being all out of sorts. That's where Snickers comes in, man.

Speaker 13 That thing is packed. Roasted peanuts, nugget, caramel, milk chocolate.
It's like the MVP of candy bars.

Speaker 13 And when you bite into it, boom, it sorts you out, gets your head back in the game of life, satisfying your hunger. Remember this: Snickers handles your hunger so you can handle everything else.

Speaker 13 Snickers satisfies, man. That's a winning play.

Speaker 1 Okay, boys.

Speaker 1 What are our picks?

Speaker 1 I don't think I've won a pick in the last two weeks.

Speaker 8 What are the standings right now?

Speaker 1 It's bad everywhere.

Speaker 1 It's pain. I think the leader is only two games up.
I am 10-8.

Speaker 3 Big Hat, 8-10.

Speaker 1 PFT, 8-10. Hank, 8-10.
Yeah. 6, 11-1.
It was bad. It's bad.
That's bad.

Speaker 3 So I'm a game and a half back of all of

Speaker 1 basically everyone. That's bad.

Speaker 9 Second and fourth.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 Who's up first? Henry. Henry.

Speaker 1 Henry.

Speaker 9 I'm going to take the Gunder.

Speaker 1 You're going to take the Gunder?

Speaker 9 40.5 in the

Speaker 8 Panthers. Munich.

Speaker 9 Okay. The Munder.

Speaker 1 The Munder. Okay.

Speaker 1 I'm going to take the Jets minus one and a half. Jets minus one and a half.

Speaker 3 I am going to take the Titans Chargers under 39.

Speaker 1 Oh, I love that. I love that.
I love, love, love that.

Speaker 8 I'm going to take the

Speaker 8 Vikings minus seven over the Jaguars.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 I am going to take

Speaker 1 the

Speaker 1 Bucs Niners over 50 and a half.

Speaker 1 And then I have another pick. I am going to take...

Speaker 1 Oh, man. I don't like this.
I don't like the port.

Speaker 1 I'll take the Steelers plus three.

Speaker 1 Fuck you. Sorry.

Speaker 1 That feels like a field goal game.

Speaker 8 It does. It feels like a good pick, too, for Mike Tomlinson.

Speaker 1 Yeah, it feels like a field goal game.

Speaker 8 I'm going to take the over

Speaker 8 in Philadelphia, Dallas. 43 points.
Cooper rush. Cooper Rush.

Speaker 1 Cooper Rush. Rush.
Fuck.

Speaker 1 I'm all scrammed.

Speaker 1 You just didn't think there was any chance?

Speaker 3 No, well, I thought I was like, there's no way PFT is going to take it. Yeah.
That's why I took the. Would you have taken that under?

Speaker 1 Which one? The Chargers Titan. Chargers Titan.
Yes, I would have. Okay.
That makes me feel a little bit better. Not.

Speaker 8 Oh, shit.

Speaker 1 I hit you with the knot.

Speaker 1 Decades.

Speaker 1 I don't think I've ever picked an under.

Speaker 8 I'll take Villanova minus 11.5.

Speaker 1 Against who, PFT? Columbia. Oh, they'll come to town.

Speaker 8 Not the national team. The Ivy League school.

Speaker 1 Fuck it.

Speaker 3 Give me Broncos plus 7.5.

Speaker 1 Okay. I like that.
Oh, Knicks. Is that?

Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 10 I'm going to take the Monday Night Football over 50.

Speaker 1 That line, by the way, makes no sense to me.

Speaker 1 The Rams. Why are the Rams only a one-point favorite? I feel like that's the easiest bet in the world, but it's just wrong.

Speaker 8 I guess because the Dolphins look pretty good against the Bills.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I just, I'm wrong. I know that I'm wrong.
I'm going to end up betting the Rams, and it's going to be wrong. Yeah.

Speaker 9 I'll be taking the New England Patriots plus six against the Chicago Bears. Okay.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 Good picks, boys.

Speaker 1 Let's do

Speaker 1 fantasy fuck boys before we get to Ron Rivera's

Speaker 9 My stardom this week is Christian McCaffrey.

Speaker 8 Why was happening?

Speaker 9 All you fantasy owners, you drafted him one. You've been pissed off all year.
He's been on your bench. Maybe you drafted him.
Maybe you traded him. This is your week.
Put him in. Stardom.

Speaker 9 He's going to be back. He's going to be playing.
He's going to get two touchdowns.

Speaker 1 Oh, hell yes.

Speaker 9 My sit him,

Speaker 9 D'Angelo Russell.

Speaker 9 JJ Reddick, trouble in paradise already in Lakers. DiAngelo Russell got benched, said he wasn't putting in effort.
JJ Reddick stormed out of the press conference. It's bad.

Speaker 1 Oh,

Speaker 1 he said the F word. Oh, shit.
The Kelsey word?

Speaker 8 No, the other F word. Fuck? Yeah, he said fuck.
Holy shit.

Speaker 1 JJ said that? JJ said fuck. No.

Speaker 8 Will Compton said, that's a bridge too far. I'm out.
I'm out.

Speaker 9 My sleeper,

Speaker 8 it's you this weekend. Daylight savings.

Speaker 1 Congratulations. Damn it.

Speaker 9 Enjoy your Sunday. Sleep in.
You're getting an extra hour.

Oh, shit. A bunch of macaque running around.

Speaker 1 Beaufort, these nuts. Beaufort.

Speaker 8 Oh, shit.

Speaker 1 I gotcha.

Speaker 8 Oh, shit.

Speaker 8 I'm sitting Bronnie James.

Speaker 8 He just got designated to the G League.

Speaker 1 Oh, sent down.

Speaker 8 What a career CEO my good friend Bronnie had.

Speaker 1 Had a bucket.

Speaker 8 We'll never forget what happened.

Speaker 1 Out of bucket. Played with his dad.

Speaker 9 It's got to be D'Angelo Russell's fault. Yeah.

Speaker 8 And probably D'Angelo Russell's fault. And then my sleeper is Maxi.

Speaker 8 Tyrese Maxie.

Speaker 1 Is he okay?

Speaker 8 Oh, no. No, he's not okay.
What happened?

Speaker 1 Mr. Zilente.
Dude, don't worry. It's November.
Is Tyrese Maxie okay?

Speaker 3 I'm sitting basketball season out this year.

Speaker 1 Is he okay, Max?

Speaker 1 He's fucking soft.

Speaker 8 Is he okay? Tell me he's okay.

Speaker 1 November. Look what they did to my boy.
They massacred my boy. Oh, Nazi.

Speaker 9 It's November, dude.

Speaker 1 What's up? What's up, you fucks? It's Darren Rizzi.

Speaker 8 Hey, what's up, coach?

Speaker 1 Coach of the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 8 When you give you go the Rizz face.

Speaker 1 My stardom is locker rooms. I switched it up this week.
I got it all set up. All the guys sit with each other.
We're going to win a game against the Falcons. I love that.

Speaker 9 Fucks out.

Speaker 1 Yeah, my sit-em is Providence basketball. They banned Don the Duck from Providence from the stadium.
That's fucked up. That duck.
No more Don the Duck. The duck.

Speaker 8 Hashtag the duck. Hashtag the duck.

Speaker 1 Quit duck. Ducking the duck.

Speaker 8 Quit ducking the duck.

Speaker 1 Don't do that.

Speaker 8 Is it a real live duck? It's a real fucking duck.

Speaker 1 Bring the duck back.

Speaker 1 We stand with the duck. And my sleeper is Columbia Basketball.
They're looking good this year. They might be a diaper dandy.

Speaker 8 We got a real New York City team.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, you know what they say about New York City point guards.

Speaker 8 If you don't like it, just wait five minutes.

Speaker 1 Oh, no, I was just saying they're good. Oh, yeah.
Yeah,

Speaker 1 that's true.

Speaker 8 wait what happened to tyrese maxie

Speaker 1 hamstring oh

Speaker 1 but paul george is back

Speaker 7 he sucks

Speaker 1 is it

Speaker 8 is maxi gonna miss what a couple games who could have seen that coming

Speaker 3 like three weeks three weeks sucks i think i think it's gonna be

Speaker 3 the brooklyn net situation there none of them are gonna play together or do you think it would be funny if the nba investigated tyrese maxi

Speaker 1 also comes back next week what if it's what if it's just an entire season of load management for Embiid?

Speaker 3 No, Embiid's playing on Tuesday against the Knicks.

Speaker 1 But I'm saying if you don't make the playoffs, just an entire season of it.

Speaker 3 We don't have a first-round pick this year unless it lands in the top six. Okay.

Speaker 1 Cooper flag.

Speaker 1 Process. Cooper flag watch.
Are you doing the process again? We could be doing the process. What if you just did a mini process?

Speaker 3 Just one year of the process.

Speaker 3 Try and get Cooper.

Speaker 1 Take a quick break, yeah.

Speaker 1 Take a year off.

Speaker 3 I'm like down to just not get upset

Speaker 8 basketball. No, I can tell you're not upset at all about basketball.

Speaker 3 I know. I thought about that last.

Speaker 8 Was that during your thoughts?

Speaker 3 I had some thoughts last night. I had plenty of thoughts.
And I thought about what if I just

Speaker 3 both of my basketball teams are just really bad that I just don't even get upset about them. But I'm going to still get it upset.

Speaker 8 So wait, so they're going to get Embiid back at the same time that Maxie is gone. And then Embiid's going to have to play harder because Maxie's not there.

Speaker 1 Correct.

Speaker 8 And what are the, be honest, Max, what are the odds that that Embiid starts in that first game that Maxie comes back?

Speaker 1 I don't know.

Speaker 3 I don't know.

Speaker 1 I don't know.

Speaker 3 One of them will be hurt. But one of Embiid or Paulo George will be hurt by the time that Maxie comes back.
I don't think any of them. We're not going to have a game where all three of them play.

Speaker 1 No. No.
It's November. No.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 8 Why are you talking about basketball, Max?

Speaker 1 Should we get to our interview with Coach Ron Rivera? Because it was a great one.

Speaker 1 Let's do some ads before that.

Speaker 14 Hey, this is Rhea from Chicks in the Office, and this season, we're heading home for the holidays with Abercrombie and Fitch. We all know our calendars are about to get chaotic.

Speaker 14 For non-stop plans, Abercrombie has the pieces to curate your perfect seasonal wardrobe, sweaters and denim for casual plans, party dresses for nights out, and comfy matching sets for everything in between.

Speaker 14 Keep the chaos cute this season in Abercrombie. Shop their new holiday outfits in the app online or in stores.

Speaker 8 Now here is Coach Ron Rivera.

Speaker 1 Okay, we now welcome on our very good friend, recurring guest. It is Coach Ron Rivera in studio.

Speaker 1 Great to see you, Coach. Let's start with, this is the first season in how long that you have, that you're out of football.
It's got to be, what, 30 years? Close to it?

Speaker 5 Yes, it's 27 as a coach and throwing the other nine as a player.

Speaker 1 So

Speaker 1 how is it going not being on the sideline? Are you still locked into everything,

Speaker 1 but in a different way? Like, it's got to feel weird, I'm sure.

Speaker 5 Oh, it feels real weird. It really does.
You know, it's funny. The first couple of months, it's great.

Speaker 1 I'm playing golf.

Speaker 5 I'm getting out there traveling with the wife, doing all these things. But then month four, it's like, damn, the draft is coming up.
Mini camps, OTA. I mean, you start thinking about those things.

Speaker 5 Yeah. You know, and then you get into the offseason where,

Speaker 5 you know, they finish OTAs. They finish mini camps.
So now it's like, okay, this is downtime. So now I'm on trips again, doing all that stuff.

Speaker 5 And then all of a sudden sudden, end of July hits and started training camp. And that's really when I started to feel it again.
You get the itch.

Speaker 1 Yeah, you do.

Speaker 5 But I am looking at it from a different lens. I'm looking at it as a commentator now.
I'm doing some stuff for the NFL Network.

Speaker 5 I'm doing some stuff for Westwood One and Sports USA, covering games, doing it on radio. So that's been a lot of fun.
I've actually had a great time doing it that way.

Speaker 5 But I've stayed engaged with what's going on in the league. I've tried to map out some trends that you see.
I've tried to look into the analytics, understand that stuff even more.

Speaker 5 And it's been real interesting. It really has.

Speaker 8 Yeah, and I bet

Speaker 8 Sundays are a lot different for you. Do you like Sundays? Like getting to sit down on your couch, watch every single game?

Speaker 5 Yeah.

Speaker 5 So the first Sunday ever,

Speaker 5 I watched like nine hours of football.

Speaker 8 Yeah. It's awesome, isn't it?

Speaker 1 It's no, it sucked.

Speaker 1 You know, because

Speaker 1 too much? No, it really was.

Speaker 5 It was way too much.

Speaker 8 You can't handle all the football games.

Speaker 1 No, you couldn't. I'm football guys.

Speaker 5 I looked at my wife after the afternoon games, before the evening game, and I said, I'll be right back. She goes, where are you going? I said, for a walk.

Speaker 5 I said, Stephanie, I've been inside for eight hours watching football. I said, I've eaten so much junk food.
I sit there and I've drank, you know,

Speaker 5 beer. I mean, I'm not, that's not, but I did all those things and I just felt, I felt like a lump on a log.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 5 So I went out and I just walked for about two and a half, three miles, came back and watched the last game of the night.

Speaker 1 You're not in game shape like us. You're not ready for it.

Speaker 1 And we do that every single Sunday. Oh, my God.
We just sit there for 12 hours and watch every single game.

Speaker 5 There's no way.

Speaker 1 I was wore out. I really was.

Speaker 5 But it has been interesting because, you know, when I do the TV show, you know, for Good Morning Football, or I do the radio stuff, the one thing that everybody tells me is when you leave, when you're done.

Speaker 5 Nobody's going to criticize.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah. It's a fact.

Speaker 8 You don't have the second guessers. There's no TV show that comes on after your TV show to be like, what was Ron Rivera thinking here in block two? Yeah, no, I used a timeout.

Speaker 8 It's interesting as hell.

Speaker 5 It really is.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 When you were coaching, were you, did you ever have a guy who was basically standing next to you who was like, hey, here's when to use a timeout, here's not, because that's my favorite part about being a fan is we don't know football like any of these coaches.

Speaker 1 But if you screw up a timeout, or you screw up a fourth down decision, that's one we can point to and be like, what the hell was he thinking?

Speaker 5 What you do is, for the most part, is I had a checklist. Okay.
And

Speaker 5 it's one of those things that Mike Shanahan, when he was rolling and won his back-to-back Super Bowls, he did this article in USA Today, and they talked about this checklist that he used to have.

Speaker 5 He used to go through just before game time.

Speaker 1 And

Speaker 5 I read the article, I copied it down, I wrote it down, and then I made it mine. I kind of came up with some other things that I wanted.
And I put on this list, and I would go through this checklist.

Speaker 5 And one of the things I always talked about was, hey, who was going to help me with the timeouts? Which coach did I have talk to me about the timeouts? Who had that chart for the two-point conversion?

Speaker 5 Yeah. Okay.
And then who was watching upstairs to whether or not I should challenge or not? So what we started was we came up with some of our coaches that we felt were really good with that.

Speaker 5 And we would have this meeting every Friday and we would go through these conversations of, hey, we get down to the fourth quarter. Who's got the timeouts?

Speaker 5 Who's got this two-point chart? All right, this is what we want to do.

Speaker 5 And so we would would go through what the situation could potentially be so that if it did come up we were we were prepared and we knew how we wanted to handle this yeah yeah that's fascinating me because yeah through years of playing mad and and watching sports on tv the fan feels like they know that that game management part and there's a lot going on during the game for a coach too so it's probably it shouldn't be on their shoulders to know exactly what to do and when to do it and and then what's kind of infiltrated our game has been the use of analytics yeah you know and and it's crazy because there's certain aspects of the game that are not measurable.

Speaker 5 Okay. And there are some aspects of the game people don't believe in.
It's crazy because people that truly believe in numbers, pure analytics, do not believe in momentum.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 5 Don't believe in the emotional part of the game. There's an emotion that goes throughout a player's body, throughout a player's mind, and the fans can impact that.

Speaker 5 They can change it, okay, with the way they cheer, the way they react. I mean, this is not measurable.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 5 And so people that truly believe the numbers don't understand how you can sit there and say, well, momentum has taken over.

Speaker 8 Yeah, I think there's definitely a big place for analytics in the game, but you also need to take that into account with what scenario you're dealing with.

Speaker 8 And a coach that understands the flow of the game and understands what his players are feeling and thinking and understands, you know, he knows his team better than anybody else does.

Speaker 8 So you know what your defense can do if you choose to go for and fourth and you don't get it.

Speaker 8 It's a big conversation that's kind of all weaved together.

Speaker 8 You are famously now known as analytical analytical Ron. Yeah.
No more Riverboat Ron, right?

Speaker 5 No.

Speaker 5 I want to tell you the story of Riverboat Ron. Okay.
Okay, so my first two years, I had this crazy record of being three in 13 of games decided by a score or less.

Speaker 5 And at the end of my

Speaker 5 At the end of my second year, I sit down with the previous owner, with Jerry Richardson, and we would go through the previous season, talk about what happened, how things went.

Speaker 5 We would go through each game, talk about what went on in each game, how things were. I mean, it was, I spent a whole day with him going through all this stuff.

Speaker 5 And when I finished up, I said to him, I said, you know, Mr. Richardson, one thing I want to talk to you about is I want to reach out.

Speaker 5 I think I need a mentor.

Speaker 5 One of the things I didn't do on my original staff was I didn't have a previous head coach on my staff, NFL head coach that could sit there and help me work through some things.

Speaker 5 And, you know, and he kind of started to chuckle. And he goes,

Speaker 5 takes us.

Speaker 5 I'm trying to show you while we're on the radio.

Speaker 5 I said, he pulls this index card out and he says, read this. And he slides it across to me.

Speaker 5 I turn it over. It was John Madden.

Speaker 5 It was his number. Wow.
He was thinking the same way I was because I was going to say to him, I want to call John Madden

Speaker 1 and talk to him.

Speaker 5 And he had thought the same things.

Speaker 5 And he looks at me and goes, he's expecting your call.

Speaker 1 Oh, my God.

Speaker 5 So I call Coach Madden and we start talking.

Speaker 5 I said, I'd love to come out and visit with you. He said, great, great.
He says, you know, know,

Speaker 5 let's plan

Speaker 5 for early March. And I said, great.
I'd love to do it then. He said, hey, I understand you were 3 and 13 and games decided by a score or less.
I said, yes, sir.

Speaker 5 He goes, why don't you go back and look at those?

Speaker 5 See if there's something you could have done different. I said, okay, great.
And you saw me today.

Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 I wrote a 20-page report. I watched those 13 games and I wrote up some things about what we could have done and what should have happened and my decisions that were made and why.

Speaker 5 So I go out to see him, go out to Pleasanton, California, where he had his headquarters for Madden for the game and all that stuff at Red Bear, I think it's called Red Bear Ventures.

Speaker 5 So I go to his office, we sit down, we start talking, and it was, he paid homage to the Raiders. Everything was silver and black.
He had all kinds of memorabilia.

Speaker 5 He had a seven-man Crowther sled in his parking lot.

Speaker 1 I remember that, yeah. Yes, he did.

Speaker 5 So I went and saw him, we started talking, and I said, oh, I got this report for you that I did. What report? Well, the one you told me about the 13 games.

Speaker 1 He was like, that's not for me.

Speaker 5 That's for you. What'd you learn?

Speaker 5 I said, well, I said, well, you know, and I opened it up. I said, well, like this one, you know, we were up by three.
And excuse me, I said, we were up by two.

Speaker 5 And, you know, and I thought, you know, if we get the, if we kicked a field goal, you know, they got a score touchdown to beat us. And, but they did.
He says, yeah, exactly. What could you have done?

Speaker 5 I said, well, could have gone for it.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 5 He said, exactly. Why didn't you go for it? I said, well, you know, kicked a field goal.
I mean, I didn't think, he said, he he said, Ron, he said, think about these things.

Speaker 5 I said, well, you know, and then this one I punted and, you know, it was fourth and one. And I, you know, we, he said, Ron, you know enough football, you've done enough football to do these things.

Speaker 5 Yeah. You know when's the right time to do it.
He said, nobody else, nobody else does. You do.
You've done it.

Speaker 5 And at that point, what he made me do is realize, you know, I said to him, I said, you know, I was going by the book.

Speaker 1 He said, what book?

Speaker 5 And maybe I said, well, you know, you punted when you should punt and kicked, and also I realized I was doing what was safe. Yeah.
What was acceptable. Because back then nobody went for it on four.

Speaker 5 And he was right. Yeah.
So the next year we were playing the Giants at home. And in the first drive, I went for it on fourth down twice.
In fact, the last one was fourth and goal.

Speaker 5 And we converted, scored the touchdown. And then I did it again in the game.
So then another week later, we were playing Minnesota and Minnesota. And I went for it three times in that game.

Speaker 5 In fact, the first time we scored, it was fourth and three.

Speaker 5 And Mike Schuler called a shovel pass, and we scored. And so

Speaker 5 we win the game. After the game, the local media is, you know, they're interviewing some of the Panther fans.
And, oh, that's great. Yeah, Coach is doing, oh, that's amazing.
It's great.

Speaker 5 They get to this one guy who says, boy, that old Ron Rivera, man. He's just like a riverboat gambler out there.

Speaker 5 He's making decisions on fourth down. I mean, that's something he's gambling out there.
I mean, oh, riverboat Ron, I'm telling you. And that's how it started.

Speaker 1 That's great.

Speaker 8 And you also had maybe the best fourth down, or at least the best short yardage option, maybe of all time in the NFL with Cam Newton. Yeah.

Speaker 8 So if you're fourth and three, fourth and two, just send Cam and he's going to run some people over.

Speaker 5 We were like 95 or 96% conversion rate with him. And I can remember one time I went and did it with Kyle Allen back there and we got stopped and somebody said, what happened?

Speaker 5 I said, we were about three inches.

Speaker 5 and 35 pounds short of him. Yeah.

Speaker 8 Yeah. And it's interesting because because there is no book, but you actually made a book.
Yeah. Like 20 pages.
I consider that to be a book. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 8 I would have been upset. I would have been like, coach, can you just read my report? You don't have to read it.
Just look at it and then just give me a grade whenever you feel like.

Speaker 8 I did this 20-page report here for you.

Speaker 5 Well, I'll tell you what, he gave me great advice. He really did.
And from that point on, that's the way I looked at it. That's the way I looked at things.

Speaker 1 That's awesome.

Speaker 1 I love the stories of the evolution of coaches and how they get to these points because that's like coaching more than anything is like you always have to be adapting and learning, and that's what the best coaches do.

Speaker 5 Well, it's kind of interesting now, it's kind of gone the other way. There is actually a book now, yeah.

Speaker 5 And if you go by those numbers purely, they're going to sit there and say, That's right, you went by the numbers. I mean, I did a thing last

Speaker 5 year, we were playing Dallas in Dallas, and it was a close game. It had been a close game.
We get into the early parts of the fourth quarter, it was fourth and two. We had just crossed over

Speaker 5 the midfield. We were on, I think, they're 47,

Speaker 5 and I went for it. But before I went for it, my thought was, man, we can put it down there, trap them.

Speaker 5 We've been playing great defense all day, force them on a three and out, get the ball back right here.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 5 And I hear

Speaker 5 the numbers say go for it.

Speaker 5 I thought about it, and I went for it, and we got stopped. And the next thing you know, it was three plays they scored.

Speaker 1 And then it was over. That's momentum.

Speaker 5 Yeah. It was over.
We couldn't do anything about it. That's exactly what happened.
But we created the momentum for them by having gotten stopped at midfield.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Yeah, I remember that game.

Speaker 8 I am a Commanders fan, so I remember almost every game that you coached in.

Speaker 5 Did I get criticized for that?

Speaker 8 I don't think so. Because

Speaker 8 I think at that point, it was like,

Speaker 8 you got to try something. You got to be aggressive.
You got to go for it. Sends a good message to your team.
If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. You don't get criticized as much.

Speaker 5 But think about if, because we played good defense all day

Speaker 5 until that series, we punt it down there,

Speaker 5 go three and out, and then they got to punt it back to us.

Speaker 8 There is one thing I did criticize you for that I feel like I should bring up because looking back on it, it's a very funny sequence that happened.

Speaker 8 Do you remember, this is like the Sean McVay test, like how many plays do you remember off the top of your head?

Speaker 8 Do you remember there being four minutes, 44 seconds left in the fourth quarter against the Rams down 14 points?

Speaker 1 Do you remember that? Yep.

Speaker 8 Ball on the one-yard line. Yep.
And then I think by the time we got done with that possession, I think there was like, I don't know, 30 seconds left. They could take a knee.

Speaker 8 And I think it took us like four minutes to score a touchdown because every single play, the play clock got down to like three, two, or one second left before we snapped the ball.

Speaker 1 What was going on?

Speaker 8 What was going on in the head of yours?

Speaker 5 The head of mine was, let's go, let's pick up. Let's tempo.
Let's tempo.

Speaker 5 Guys, we got it.

Speaker 5 Sometimes trying to be too perfect as play callers,

Speaker 5 we do that. And so you're trying to make sure you have the right play, the right sequence.

Speaker 5 You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 5 And you want guys to just, hey, sometimes

Speaker 5 you just got to wing it.

Speaker 8 Fun side note on that one. I think it was the longest time ever to expire off of a game clock

Speaker 8 to get one yard and a touchdown. I believe in NFL history.
But then the thing that I did criticize you for on that one was it's an analytical thing. So it's a numbers test.

Speaker 8 You're down by 14, you score a touchdown. Do you go for two?

Speaker 5 No, I don't believe in it. The problem with it is what happens if you don't?

Speaker 8 Well, then you have to go for two next time.

Speaker 1 Yeah, you go for two the next time. Right.

Speaker 5 You kick it and you go for two the next time.

Speaker 8 Well, so yeah. So if you don't get the two-point conversion, then you're down by eight points.

Speaker 5 Right, but what happens to your momentum?

Speaker 8 Well, you still have to score another touchdown.

Speaker 5 I know, but what happens to your momentum? Yeah.

Speaker 5 You just killed the momentum you got by scoring that touchdown. You think if you don't get a two-point conversion, what's wrong with putting it all on the line the very last play of the game?

Speaker 1 Oh, you only go for two at the last play of the game. Yeah, no, I'm okay with that.

Speaker 8 Like when we watched Todd Bowles the other day, uh, in the Bucs Chiefs,

Speaker 8 you're on the road, you're playing a

Speaker 8 much better, healthier team. Nobody expected you to win.
Go for it and end the game right there. Don't put the ball in Patrick Mahomes' hands in overtime.

Speaker 5 Right. And I think that's part of your thought process when you get into games like that: who's their quarterback?

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 5 Okay.

Speaker 5 What can I do

Speaker 5 to

Speaker 5 have things happen, make things work?

Speaker 5 And if it is against a Patrick Mahomes, I'm going for two at the end of the game. Yeah.
Okay.

Speaker 5 And I'll look at that thing in that checklist is one of the things

Speaker 5 that's on it. Who's the quarterback?

Speaker 1 Yeah. Okay.

Speaker 5 But underneath it, I put things to consider. How are we playing defensively? I'll tell you a great story.
We're playing in 2013, first time we win the division in like seven years.

Speaker 5 Okay, and I just got there. This is my third season.
We're playing the New Orleans Saints at home. Okay,

Speaker 5 our punter had been kicking the ball great all day, been pinning them inside the 20, just killing them, just doing a great job.

Speaker 5 Defensively, it was a low-scoring game, so we were playing very well against Sean Payton's offense. And I thought, man, if we can punt it down there,

Speaker 5 get it inside the 15, the 10, go three and out, man, we'll be right back at midfield. So I punted.

Speaker 1 Okay, I punted.

Speaker 5 One of my best friends of the world,

Speaker 5 Tom,

Speaker 5 I can't tell you his last name, but Tom calls me.

Speaker 1 Brady? No. Oh.

Speaker 5 Calls me. Coughlin.
Calls me. Okay.
It's Coughlin. While the game is happening and says, Ron, what are you doing? You'll never get the ball back.
Now, my phone's inside my locker.

Speaker 1 But it's inside my locker. Okay.
Okay.

Speaker 5 What are you doing? You'll never get the ball back.

Speaker 1 I can't.

Speaker 5 And he hangs up.

Speaker 5 Okay. Three and out.
They punt to us. We get the ball.

Speaker 5 Score the touchdown to win the game. Okay, I was getting killed.
I was getting killed on TV by it. Yeah.
Okay.

Speaker 5 So

Speaker 5 I finished the game.

Speaker 5 I go into my locker and my phone is just blowing up.

Speaker 1 I go, what the hell?

Speaker 5 So I look at it, see my friend's name. I said, let me listen to it.
So I listen to it.

Speaker 5 What are you doing? You'll never get the ball back.

Speaker 5 I can't believe you did it.

Speaker 1 He hangs up.

Speaker 5 Then all of a sudden, there's another one from him. Disregard that last message.

Speaker 1 Oh, man. Tom Coughlin was wrong.
No, it wasn't Coach Coughlin. It wasn't Coach Coughlin.

Speaker 5 But the point being is that sometimes you have to look at it and say, this is the right thing to do, which it was. Yeah.
Because we were playing good defense. Our punter was on, spot on.

Speaker 5 And so

Speaker 5 I took the shot.

Speaker 8 Yeah, all that other stuff does make a difference. You can't just go by the numbers.

Speaker 1 Right, it really does the game.

Speaker 8 I think the numbers help a lot.

Speaker 5 Right, but but but but think about it,

Speaker 5 Sean Payton,

Speaker 5 you know, Drew's your quarterback.

Speaker 1 I mean, come on.

Speaker 5 You know, you give him the ball at midfield. He's going to get into field goal range.
Yeah. Yeah.
You know, now it's a different game. Yeah.
And now you're down two scores.

Speaker 8 As a Washington football slash Commanders fan, I saw you go into that franchise. And what I felt...

Speaker 8 at least for the last 25 years has been basically an unwinnable situation with all the chaos.

Speaker 8 And your first like three seasons, there were so many off-the-field storylines that happened that there's too many it was just chaos for you and i i i i firmly felt that it was it's a raw deal for anybody to walk in that environment added on to all top all of that stuff on top of it you kind of had to oversee a name change yeah to the team what was that process like was it was it dan being like we're going to call him the commanders uh and i'm just

Speaker 5 camera in your face and be like hey yeah good name it was very structured no no they they they really did do a good job doing all the marketing research trying to figure it out first of all when as soon as they found out there was going to be a name change, you should have seen how many people claimed the names that were out there.

Speaker 5 Oh, yeah. Red Wolves was claimed.
Red Tails was claimed.

Speaker 5 You know, it's just going down the list. People kept, you know, getting

Speaker 5 the copyrights to all this stuff. Yeah.
You know, the trademarks to all this stuff. And

Speaker 5 so, you know, people were jacking prices up and, you know, just... basically holding them for ransom.

Speaker 5 And so, but anyways, what they did, what the organization did was they went out and they hired a marketing firm that came up with a number of different names.

Speaker 5 And then they started interviewing alumni. They interviewed fans,

Speaker 5 people throughout the league to get their opinion on things. And then they came down with what were the top 10.

Speaker 5 And then they brought them to me and gave me an opportunity to look at them, tell me which ones did I like the most and which ones, you know.

Speaker 5 I really liked the Warriors because of the native, but the whole point was to get away from being native. Well, Warrior, hey, no, because of the soldiers,

Speaker 1 the military.

Speaker 5 I mean, that was a big part of it. The military reasoning behind it, that's how they came up with commanders.
Yeah.

Speaker 5 You know, because you think of all the way from George Washington, you know, all the way to Schwarzkopf, I mean, to all these great military leaders that were in D.C. Yeah.

Speaker 5 These were the people that they also wanted to pay tribute to. And I think that was a big part of it and a roundabout way of keeping the native

Speaker 5 emblem involved.

Speaker 15 And Brandon, I'll be right there with you, and I'll check it off my Christmas list in the country store while I'm at it. It'll make a nice holiday holiday tradition.

Speaker 5 Oh, that's so cute of you.

Speaker 15 Enjoy all the more holiday traditions only at Cracker Barrel.

Speaker 14 So

Speaker 8 you went from David Tepper to Dan Snyder as owners. You got to see both those management styles.

Speaker 8 What's the difference between the two of those guys?

Speaker 1 I think

Speaker 5 Mr.

Speaker 5 Snyder, Dan was very reactionary.

Speaker 5 And he was impacted a lot by things around him,

Speaker 1 you know,

Speaker 5 he was somebody that was really truly a fan. He loved everything about the Redskins.
He really did.

Speaker 5 And I think that was one of the things that drove him to become the owner of the Redskins was that this was his chance.

Speaker 5 He loved everything about them, but he was very emotional about it and really got vested in it and wanted to win, but didn't quite understand how to go about it.

Speaker 5 You know, and he was trying to find the right way to do it. And

Speaker 5 there was just, there were too many outside interferences to get it done the way you wanted it. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah. I mean, it makes sense.

Speaker 1 It was a mess. Yeah.

Speaker 8 The off-the-field stuff in DC for years was like,

Speaker 8 it's hard to focus on winning football games when you have to deal with like lawsuits,

Speaker 8 stadium breaking down.

Speaker 5 But where it really became a hassle was it infiltrated the locker room.

Speaker 5 Okay.

Speaker 5 And every time something came up,

Speaker 5 I would plead with the media to, hey, just stick with me. Ask me the question.
Don't ask the players. You know, I got mad a couple of times.
I said, why do you want to go and ask these guys?

Speaker 5 These guys weren't here when it happened.

Speaker 5 So why are we asking them?

Speaker 5 And so I came up with this, hey, let's talk about what's important,

Speaker 5 not what's interesting.

Speaker 5 Okay, what's interesting is all that. What's important is what we do on the football field.
I'm not saying what happened to these people

Speaker 5 is not important. I'm just saying for us, for what we do in our lives,

Speaker 1 is football.

Speaker 5 Let's stay focused on that. That was my battle every day was when something came up every day.

Speaker 5 Every day I had to deal with it.

Speaker 1 So you also, in your travels, you've been part of basically the only time the Bears have been good when they obviously won the Super Bowl in 85 and then went to the Super Bowl in 06 as defensive coordinator.

Speaker 1 What was it about Buddy Ryan? What's your best Buddy Ryan story? Because I mean, I love... Oh, my God.

Speaker 1 I think there's a thing in Chicago where it's a little too much talking about 85 Bears because we haven't had anything else to talk about. I've got to got to move on.

Speaker 1 But whenever I hear a Buddy Ryan or a Dicka story, they're always the best. So what was it about Buddy or what was the story that encapsulates Buddy?

Speaker 5 You know, Buddy had this way of tearing things down to build it back up. And he really did.

Speaker 5 I mean, he got on you and he wanted to make sure you understood that we were not going to be the reason we didn't win. We were going to be the best and that was it.
And he pushed people. He pushed us.

Speaker 5 He really did. He got after us

Speaker 5 and

Speaker 5 if you couldn't keep the personal side separate, you took it too personal.

Speaker 5 Okay, and I understood and I got it right away because I grew up in a military family. And so, you know, you've seen it.
You've seen drill sergeants get on people.

Speaker 5 Shoot, I was walking down the street as a kid one day and this lieutenant colonel stops his car and starts yelling at all of us. Next thing you know, we're lined up shoulder by shoulder.

Speaker 5 We're walking down the street. We're picking up garbage, putting it in a garbage can.
Okay. And then he says, well, I'm going to take all your kids' name and call your parents.

Speaker 5 So you run home and so you tell your parents, hey, you know, Colonel Smith, he pulled us over and had us do this, this, this, and this. And we really weren't doing anything wrong, Dad.

Speaker 5 And he starts laughing. I said, Dad, what's so funny? He goes, the colonel just wanted you to clean up the park.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 He thought it was a mess.

Speaker 1 It's not personal. It's just, yeah.

Speaker 5 And so then all of a sudden you realize that there's a reason why you're being told to do things that you don't want to do. Yeah.
You know, and it makes sense. But for me, personally, with Buddy,

Speaker 5 and

Speaker 5 I'm forever grateful to him for this. So my rookie year, Buddy used to stand behind defense about 35, 40 yards back, and he would watch the plays.
And the way we used to do offense, defense, it was...

Speaker 5 22, 24, 25 plays in a row for offense, then 22, 24, 25 plays for defense.

Speaker 5 So Buddy would stand back there, and he would just signal the plays into Mike Singletary and then Mike would call the defense and we'd take our snaps and go through it for 24 straight plays.

Speaker 5 So one day, probably about my third or fourth week in the league during the regular season, I hear this, Chico. My nickname was Chico.
Chico.

Speaker 5 So I said, yeah. So I go running back there.
He doesn't say anything, just points. So I stand next to him.
He doesn't say a word to me for a couple of plays. So then he signals in.

Speaker 5 He goes, what's the call? I said, well, you just signaled 46 blitz to formation. He said, okay, good.
He said, all right, formation.

Speaker 5 What's the call? I said, oh, you want to run samurai. He says, why do I want to run samurai? Samurai was Mike Singletary blitzing straight down the gut.
I said, well, why do you want to, well,

Speaker 5 you want Mike to blitz inside because the two backs are in a split formation.

Speaker 5 Because they're in a split formation, they're probably going to go fast out into the flats, and there will be nobody to pick Mike up, and he can get pressure on the quarterback.

Speaker 5 All right, you're paying attention in meetings.

Speaker 5 So that's what would happen. He'd call the defense.
He'd ask me questions. He said, you know why why I'm calling this defense?

Speaker 5 I said, yeah, you want Otis to jam the crap out of the tight end so he doesn't get a free release. That's why we're in an underfront.
He said, good, good, good.

Speaker 5 And he kept testing me and asking me these questions. Before I realized that he was training me.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 5 He was teaching me. So,

Speaker 5 you know,

Speaker 5 I finally get a chance to go in and play a game. And

Speaker 5 it was against Detroit in Detroit. Mike gets hurt just before the half.
I came and played the second half for Mike. And we we win the game.
I played pretty well. I actually got a scoop and score.

Speaker 5 Dent sack caused fun. No, there was a swing pass.
Dent hit the guy. The guy fumbled it.
I scooped it up and scored. But the point being this, is that he was preparing me for an opportunity to play.

Speaker 5 So when I finally got my opportunity to play, I was ready to go.

Speaker 5 And Buddy had this great way of making you feel like,

Speaker 5 now, Chico, when you go in there, If you screw up and he used the F-bomb on me, I will pull your ass out so fast you wouldn't know what happened.

Speaker 5 So I went out there and I mean, I was, you know, I didn't want to make a mistake.

Speaker 1 Yeah, he set the expectations that he did. I would assume, too, like that ability to teach you and have you comfortable where you could play free.
Because that's the teams that play free.

Speaker 1 Yeah, right.

Speaker 5 You play fast is exactly what he did. He wanted us to play fast and he always talked about playing fast.

Speaker 5 But I mean, just the way that I was getting this education, standing back there with him, watching as things were happening, it was amazing.

Speaker 1 That's awesome. And

Speaker 1 people should watch a pro football show that's coming out. So this is coming out on Friday.
So tonight, pro football show will also be out, which was great because we went through every game.

Speaker 1 I did bring up one bad thing that I wanted to get a little more on because we kind of moved past it.

Speaker 1 But you were part of the 2010 Chargers, the number one offense, the number one defense, the worst special teams of all time, nine and seven. What does it do to a team?

Speaker 1 I feel like fans, we forget special teams and we don't really, everyone knows it, but it's like, oh, until there's a missed kick, then you start talking about it.

Speaker 1 What does it do for a team when your special teams is costing you games in that way? And you're like, we just have to keep going out there.

Speaker 1 Because that was an incredible team that should have been in the playoffs.

Speaker 5 It was, but it was very deflating. And the thing that you have to look at is what caused it.
What caused it was there were several major injuries. And so the next man up mentality was

Speaker 5 guys off the special teams.

Speaker 5 So now these guys are in full-time roles.

Speaker 5 And so now you,

Speaker 5 where'd your special teams guy come from? Yeah. He comes from the street.
And he's not as good as the guys that have been playing.

Speaker 5 So now that special teams coach has to retrain a group of guys that he's not familiar with. And that year, we had a number of injuries where we were just putting guys, plugging guys in.

Speaker 5 And, you know, next thing you know, you know, guys that were defensive ends or outside linebackers that were running down our kickoff, now they're getting opportunities to play.

Speaker 5 This year, Sean Merriman got hurt. Yeah.
You know, and

Speaker 5 so we had to take a guy and plug him in to play for us. And he wasn't on a special team, and he was a big loss.

Speaker 5 so when you lose guys that were big impact for it it happens but it's very deflating yeah did you ever think about just kicking it out of bounds every time um well even on kickoffs just be like we'll just take the yeah that was that was a tough one i mean no i i i know exactly what you said yeah there were some tough and you would you would expect that you know we'd be able to get through it and unfortunately we didn't and it did show got punts blocked return for touchdowns punts return for touchdowns i mean that was that was tough on it it really was it was a hard thing yeah and you and you and it was you know previously you were with, you know, the Bears and Devin Hester.

Speaker 1 Did you count, as a defensive coordinator, do you count special teams like punt returns as a touchdown for the defense?

Speaker 8 Because I kind of do.

Speaker 1 The league does. Yeah.

Speaker 1 That should be your

Speaker 1 touchdown. That impacts you.

Speaker 5 Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah, because we did our job and Devin Hester is an extension of the defense year.

Speaker 5 Yeah, so it's crazy. I'll tell you a great story.
So my first year in the league as a head coach,

Speaker 5 we're playing against the Bears.

Speaker 5 And my special teams coach comes to me and says, look, this is the plan we used when I was with this other team. We would mortar the kick away from Devin as high as we could.
35, 45 yards.

Speaker 5 We just accepted the fact that the ball is only going 35 to 45 yards. We're not going to put that kind of pressure covering him, coach.

Speaker 5 I loved it. I thought it was a great idea.
We could eliminate Devin. Well, our kicker wasn't our punter wasn't all in.

Speaker 5 Oh, you know, he was worried about his average.

Speaker 1 Yeah, and his next contract, yeah.

Speaker 6 Right.

Speaker 5 And he's going, you know, hey, I can angle kick it away from him. I can directional, you know, kick it out of bounds,

Speaker 5 but I can get it out there.

Speaker 5 I said, look, I like the plan. We can control what happens.
We can kick it high. And if it's 35 yards, that's me.

Speaker 1 I'll accept that.

Speaker 5 Okay, but we're going to over-the-top mortar kick it, just like the Aussies do with that back spin.

Speaker 5 So we get in the game. Very first one, he kicks the line drive.

Speaker 5 And one second, Devin was over here, and the next second he was crossing the goal line.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 5 And I lost it. I went over there and I said, if that ball is not mortar kicked high, we will have an issue.
So after the game, we lose by seven. Yeah.
Or six, whatever it was.

Speaker 5 But we lost because of the return. We had a chance to win that game.

Speaker 5 So

Speaker 5 as the media does, I'm getting killed. Ron, you were here.
Why would you

Speaker 1 kick it? Why would you kick it to him?

Speaker 5 I said, look, we had a plan. Unfortunately,

Speaker 5 we didn't execute the plan the way we wanted it to.

Speaker 5 And that's the truth. Yeah.
Okay?

Speaker 5 So I never read the paper when I was a coach. I never, and I very rarely ever listen to any broadcasts.

Speaker 5 So I'm getting ready for my team meeting the next Monday morning.

Speaker 1 And my wife calls.

Speaker 5 I think you need to look at the paper. I said, what are you talking about? She says, just read it.
So I find the article. I read the article.

Speaker 5 And they had gone

Speaker 5 to a player and said to the player, he said, you know, why would you guys kick to him? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And the player says, well, you know,

Speaker 5 what we did last year was good. It worked.

Speaker 5 I said, what you did last year worked.

Speaker 5 That was it. Yeah.

Speaker 5 I had this presentation all set.

Speaker 5 No, I walked into that meeting room and every player was seated and I said,

Speaker 5 you know, I fell on the sword.

Speaker 5 I took it. I took the brunt of it, okay?

Speaker 5 I accepted the blame on kicking the ball to Devin Hester. That was not the plan.
The plan was not that. I said, But somebody told me what you did last year was good enough.

Speaker 5 If being two and 14 is good enough for you, you're not on my football team. I don't need people like that.
I need people that want to aspire to be better than that.

Speaker 5 If we're not going to do the things that we're asked, you don't belong here. And I threw the paper down and walked out.

Speaker 1 Wow. Yeah.
So Devin Hester, and that, and then the turnaround starts. So Devin Hester, that moment was probably pretty galvanizing for all the guys to buy in.

Speaker 5 Well, for those who didn't buy in, it sure wasn't.

Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 Those that did buy and did believe in what we were trying to do.

Speaker 5 What happens is when you go to a team,

Speaker 5 you got to get past what I say is, here we go again.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 5 We can't always fall back to what I used to do. Because if what you used to do is what got the other guy fired, We're not going to do.

Speaker 5 Okay.

Speaker 5 We're going to go out and we're going to find the right way to do it and we're gonna do it the right way a lot of things that i tried to do were the things that i had learned from mike dica buddy ryan um norv turner andy reed

Speaker 5 and lovey smith okay

Speaker 8 everybody there was successful and they had a plan and they did things the right way yeah i i like i like hearing you fired up like that i feel like we just got our ass chewed out yeah i want to be like sorry i'm sorry to be all in i'm sorry that they punished that master coach yeah yeah have you ever like chewed a guy's ass out too bad and you have to walk it back and be like, maybe I went overboard on that?

Speaker 8 I did.

Speaker 5 I did.

Speaker 5 And

Speaker 5 the biggest thing is that I felt I did, and it happened in Carolina, was I apologized in front of the whole team.

Speaker 5 I said, first of all, whenever I get mad at you guys, please don't ever think it's personal.

Speaker 5 Okay.

Speaker 5 And if you ever do feel it's personal, please come see me. All right.

Speaker 5 I did it one time as a coordinator, too, and did it to a very good football player, too, who didn't talk to me the rest of the day.

Speaker 5 And so I asked him to come into my office, and he did. And we started to talk.
And

Speaker 5 that happened before I became a head coach. And that's when I realized it appeared and it seemed personal.

Speaker 5 So I got in front of the guys, and I apologized when I was the defensive coordinator of the Chargers to the whole group and to the player specifically. And then when I did it in Carolina,

Speaker 5 it was, you know, and it cost us a game, but it seemed personal, and it should not have seemed or felt personal, in my opinion. So, that's so, so at that point, I have to apologize.

Speaker 8 Yeah, in Carolina,

Speaker 8 when Cam Newton would text you, would he send you the text in that weird font? Yeah, yes. First time you saw that, you're like, what the hell is it? Is he hieroglyphic?

Speaker 5 Basically, it was, and I was trying to read it and understand it. I'm going to tell you what, that was one of the greatest competitors I've ever been around.
It really is. I mean,

Speaker 5 he did things the way you should do them. When you're on that football field and you're in those meetings, that's how you do things.
It was tremendous.

Speaker 5 I remember one time, I'll never forget, I walked into the quarterback meeting room, Mike Schuler running the meetings, and Cam was upside down on his chair.

Speaker 5 He was leaned over and watching it like this,

Speaker 5 and I'm sitting there, and I didn't say a word.

Speaker 5 So

Speaker 5 they finished the meetings, we went to practice. And Coach Schuler comes up to me and says,

Speaker 5 Coach, this is the play

Speaker 5 that you walked in on. I said, Okay.
I watched the play. He threw it perfectly.

Speaker 5 Play action, off a waggle action, whipped his head around, spotted the free safety, and threw it opposite, away from the leverage. Big play.

Speaker 5 Didn't say it worked.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 5 So

Speaker 5 Cam comes up to me. He starts reciting the play.

Speaker 5 And I said,

Speaker 5 hey, whatever it takes, however you do your thing, you be you.

Speaker 8 Yeah. You can watch it from whatever angle you want to.

Speaker 5 It was amazing, though, but he could repeat. I would go through a whole meeting and not think he was paying attention.
Yeah.

Speaker 5 And I would just look at him and he'd come up to me and he'd recite it almost verbatim. And you sit there and go, dude.
I mean, I just,

Speaker 5 but it was him. That's who he was.
And so his focus, his attention, it was there.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 8 Has there ever been a point as you're dealing with personnel and head coaching where head coach Ron Rivera got pissed off at GM Ron Rivera?

Speaker 5 You know, when I was in Washington, I had some responsibilities that, quite honestly, I really didn't like having. And a big part of it was with personnel.

Speaker 5 And you sit there and you make decisions sometimes based on what you're told,

Speaker 5 you have a salary cap or you have injury factors

Speaker 5 and you start listening to

Speaker 5 the financial side of it. You start looking at

Speaker 5 the impact of your salary cap on your roster and the future and all this stuff instead of the moment. Because you want to win in the moment.
You really do.

Speaker 5 Because

Speaker 5 there's nothing like the here and now. as far as I'm concerned, because you're judged on the here and now.
You're not judged on what's going to happen in the future. Right.

Speaker 8 A general manager might be, but a head coach never is. Right, right, right.
So I feel like that's something that I look around the league and I see teams that are clearly not in a position to win now.

Speaker 8 A team like the Titans, right? They're trying to build for the future. That's definitely what they're doing.
They're making a bunch of trades, getting a bunch of draft picks in.

Speaker 8 So that's good for the front office. The head coach, his job is to win.
His coach is to make these players play as good as possible.

Speaker 5 But see, if you do that early on when they first get there and do it that way, you have a chance to grow it and develop it you know because because right now if you look at the titans what would you say to one thing that they really feel like they need probably quarterback right because you look at everything else and you go wow this is i mean defenses they're playing solid rock solid defense they really are yeah offense they run the ball really well yeah you know then you sit there and go wow

Speaker 5 and they do have some talented young receivers that are going to grow and develop So let's put the rest of it together.

Speaker 5 And if we get a chance to get a young quarterback, now you can build off of that.

Speaker 5 You know, it's funny because I was asked in a press conference a couple years ago, maybe you remember, so what's the big difference between you guys

Speaker 5 and the other three teams in your division? My answer was quarterback.

Speaker 5 And people got smug at me.

Speaker 5 I asked the same question the other day to a group of people. What's the difference between Washington right now and Washington I had? Well, they got quarterback.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 5 It's a quarterback-driven league, folks.

Speaker 8 You kind of got us a quarterback. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Thank you.

Speaker 1 You know what?

Speaker 8 I'm going to take back every bad thing I said about the end of the game in that Rams game.

Speaker 1 Because

Speaker 8 without that loss, I don't have Jane Daniels. We're picking like fifth or sixth.

Speaker 1 So thank you. But it is.
It's quarterback. No, it is.

Speaker 5 It's quarterback-driven league. And again, the approach being is that if you're coming in to begin with and you accept that and you understand that and you're willing to be patient, you can do that.

Speaker 5 My first two years in Carolina, that's what Mr. Richardson did.

Speaker 5 He understood that we were building. And what did we get? Quarterback, quarterback.
We got our quarterback on offense, and we got our quarterback on defense.

Speaker 1 And Luke Keekly, yeah.

Speaker 5 That's right. Yeah.
Both guys at one point were rookie of the year and both guys at one point were the MVP of their side of the ball. Yeah.

Speaker 8 I just think it's an interesting dynamic sometimes that you have a front office that all things being equal, like for the Titans, we'll use them as another example again.

Speaker 8 If they lose a game, the front office is like not the end of the world. Our draft picks better.
If you lose a game as a a head coach, you're like, shit, this feels awful.

Speaker 1 Like, that's what I'm doing.

Speaker 8 I'm planning my entire week. I'm putting all my effort into making sure we win this football game.
And

Speaker 8 there seems to be like a conflict in what is a good outcome each week. And I just don't know how teams get around that.

Speaker 8 I guess if you're building from the ground up as a first-year head coach, like you can, you can have your eye on the big picture while still understanding he's going to go out there and try to win, right?

Speaker 8 Correct.

Speaker 5 I mean, and that to me is the thing. I mean, you know, a lot of people said the worst thing that happened to us was

Speaker 5 I tried to win my first year, and we did. We won the division, but guess where we picked? 17.
Right.

Speaker 5 You know, I mean, when you're picking in the middle of the road and you have other needs, you end up sometimes settling.

Speaker 5 And that's something that, in all honesty, looking back, gosh, I wish I had recognized and realized certain things too. I mean, it does

Speaker 5 affect the way you approach things. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 Well, Coach, this has been been awesome. I got one last question for you.

Speaker 16 That's the sound of extremely processed dog food, which is the norm at most pet food companies. But at the Farmer's Dog, we do things differently.
We gently cook our food without ultra-processing.

Speaker 16 It's developed by our team of board-certified nutritionists, made to human-grade safety standards, and portioned for your dog, then delivered right to your door.

Speaker 8 How does that sound to you?

Speaker 16 Get 50% off your first box, available only at thefarmersdog.com.

Speaker 1 Chris McCaffrey is maybe going to come back this weekend. You obviously had him in Carolina.

Speaker 1 At what point, and it might have been, you know, the minute he walked in the door, were you like, oh my God,

Speaker 1 this is not only special, but like a weapon like this that we get to use.

Speaker 1 At what point were you like, that's different?

Speaker 5 I think it was, you know, when we put the pads on. I mean, that's when you kind of start judging, but you put the pads on, and,

Speaker 5 you know,

Speaker 5 we were a power team.

Speaker 5 We were gap scheme. We went downhill.
We tried to hit the crease, and he pops one of the first ones. He runs in full pads when

Speaker 5 it was a thud drill, where you could smack the court or the running back, but you had to let him finish the run.

Speaker 5 And he went through untouched. So I went back in the huddle.
I said, defense, hey, you can hit the running back. It's okay to hit the running back.

Speaker 5 And one of them said, coach, we tried.

Speaker 1 Yeah. And I said, ooh, okay.
Okay.

Speaker 5 So then I went back and I looked at it on tape tape and it was pretty impressive.

Speaker 1 It really was.

Speaker 5 It was. But what I think you really realized it was, it was all the other stuff he did.
He got out early. He warmed up before practice.
Okay. He got done.
He warmed down after practice. He went in.

Speaker 5 He took care of his body. He got in the ice tub.
Okay.

Speaker 5 He got in a hot tub. He did all the extra stuff that you're supposed to do.

Speaker 5 And he did it as a rookie.

Speaker 5 Obviously, his dad playing in his league, his wife, his wife, his mother being an all-American soccer player had a lot to do with his growth and development because they understood what he was going to go through.

Speaker 5 And so he was that mature when he showed up. Wow.
Yeah.

Speaker 8 So you knew right away. That's very cool.

Speaker 5 Oh, he was tremendous. I'll tell you right now,

Speaker 5 he was one of,

Speaker 5 that's how great a kid he is. Okay, actually, kid, young man he is.
We played him last year, and

Speaker 5 the game was over, and they had won, and that's when they were rolling.

Speaker 1 He was playing really well.

Speaker 5 And so he came over, you know, we shook hands, we talked a little bit, and he said, coach, you ever need anything just to get all of us? You know what? I never asked you for a jersey.

Speaker 5 He goes, You can have this one. I said, Really? He said, Oh, yeah.
He went in, signed it, gave it to his equipment guy. He said, Put it

Speaker 5 in a plastic cover and send it to Coach. And they sent it to me.
I got it the next day. It was really cool.
That's awesome. It was really cool.
I mean, he really is. He's one of my guys.

Speaker 5 He was one of my favorite guys. He really was just because of who he was and the way he did things.
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 8 And I guess I did a bad job right off the top checking it. How are you feeling? Are you doing okay? Yeah, I am.

Speaker 1 Healthy. Thank you.

Speaker 5 Yeah, I've got one more year left of

Speaker 5 doing my annual, and hopefully it'll come up and continue to be the way it's supposed to be.

Speaker 8 Very cool. Glad to hear it.
And you're watching every NFL game or trying to, maybe not every game, taking a walk for the afternoon games, but

Speaker 8 is there like a player that you've seen now that you get to watch the entire league where you're like, that guy is really, really underrated?

Speaker 5 Gosh, you know, I know I've said that a couple of times just watching guys,

Speaker 5 but I think about the flashes right now, and I think of Saquon Barkley jumping backwards I think of watching Jaden Daniels the way he plays with such confidence I mean it's it's it's just tremendous to watch that confidence watching Matt Stat Matthew Stafford you know I

Speaker 5 got to do that game against the Raiders and when he got when he got Puka and Cooper back out there and just the way he played it was just like God people don't understand the impact that those two guys have on the entire offense as well yeah it was that impressive yeah well thank thank you so much, coach.

Speaker 1 People are going to be listening to this after it, but we're going to watch ball with you tonight. I'm very excited.
I'm looking forward to that. It's going to be a great game.

Speaker 1 And thank you. We loved having you come by, and anytime you want to stop back by, it was awesome.

Speaker 5 Well, I appreciate it, guys. Thank you.

Speaker 1 Okay, Fire Fest of the week.

Speaker 1 Usually the couch starts first.

Speaker 8 Yeah, that's how we typically go, and then the booth ends it.

Speaker 1 So, Max?

Speaker 3 This is a Firefest. I don't like being here.

Speaker 8 What's wrong?

Speaker 3 On this couch,

Speaker 3 this is Hank Spot, Pug forcing me here.

Speaker 8 He's the president. You have to do what the president says.
I know.

Speaker 3 I know. I'm listening to the president for now.
Okay.

Speaker 1 So, what's your firefest?

Speaker 1 I was almost about to say something.

Speaker 3 Were you going to say Hank?

Speaker 1 No. What were you going to say? I don't want to say.

Speaker 8 Did you say it?

Speaker 1 I was going to say, what's your firefest, fat boy?

Speaker 3 That is my fire.

Speaker 1 I don't know why, but you're sitting right here. It's just different.
No, I know. I don't like it.

Speaker 3 But that actually is my firefest. I started counting calories this week.
I started logging everything.

Speaker 1 Wait, wait. And Thursday.

Speaker 1 Explain to everyone because I I know why you're counting calories. It's a very funny reason.
Oh, yeah. It's a very funny reason.
You told me this, and I was just like, what?

Speaker 1 I think, no, I think you agree with me. Yeah, no, I do.

Speaker 3 I think most people agree with me. Yes.
So my mom's been on my ass to get a physical. I haven't got a physical in five years, since like before I joined Barstool.

Speaker 3 So I purposely, she's actually going to be listening to this right now. Mom, I'm telling you right now, I could have got a physical the day that I scheduled it, but I got it three weeks.

Speaker 3 I got a physical three weeks from the day I scheduled it so I could get three weeks of trying to lose weight

Speaker 3 before I go to the physics.

Speaker 8 That's good. You're getting in shape for your measurements.

Speaker 1 I'm doing the same thing right now. I have a physical the week after you.
I haven't gotten one in 10 years.

Speaker 1 It's crazy. It's scary.
It's very scary.

Speaker 8 Is it going to be depressing if you go after like a three-week diet to get your physical and they're like, you need to lose weight?

Speaker 3 No, no, no. That is what that is.

Speaker 1 That's a thousand percent. Oh, yeah.
But it's going to be losing.

Speaker 3 It's not going to be like, holy shit, you're going to die. It's going to be like, no, it's still probably going to be that, but it'll just be not as bad.

Speaker 7 It's, it's,

Speaker 1 it's like a longer version of uh, you know, brushing really hard and flossing right before the dentist. Right.
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 8 And wait, are you getting your physical right before Thanksgiving? Yes. Smart man.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 Smart man.

Speaker 3 Literally the week before, like the exact to the day, the week before Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 Should we share our results? No. I think we should.
No. I'm getting one the week after you.

Speaker 3 No, I am not sharing. I'm not.

Speaker 1 I'll share my results.

Speaker 8 I'll share mine.

Speaker 9 Me and Max are chasing 70.

Speaker 8 No, I feel like we should all get physicals, put the results on the table.

Speaker 3 No, I'm not putting.

Speaker 3 This is HIPAA.

Speaker 1 It is. That actually is.
Well, no, I mean, it's you sharing it. I'm going to share mine.

Speaker 3 You're trying to make me share.

Speaker 1 I'm not. I'm just saying I'm going to share mine.
Will you

Speaker 1 dance?

Speaker 1 You tango.

Speaker 3 Let me see the results. Let me see what goes on, and then I'll decide.
Okay.

Speaker 1 Yeah, you can flub some numbers.

Speaker 3 But also, the Fire Fest, as we keep, I'm saying this, and Hank and I are.

Speaker 3 What we got for dinner tonight was absurd.

Speaker 1 Well, Coach Rivera was here.

Speaker 1 He spent a lot of time in his life in Chicago, and he was like, hey, I want some Lou Miles and I want some Portillas. And we have pan canes.

Speaker 8 Yeah, he wanted to eat Chicago. Yeah.

Speaker 1 If you look at the kitchen, it's a separate pizza place. Yeah, just two pizza places.

Speaker 8 Two pizza places and all the hot dogs and Italian sandwiches. And chicken fingers.
And chicken fingers. And credit to Max.
I walked through the kitchen at one point.

Speaker 1 Large giant chocolate cake.

Speaker 8 Yeah, so I was walking in the kitchen at one point, and Jerry was like, Max, have some of this cake. Have some of this chocolate cake.
And Max was like, no, I can't do it.

Speaker 8 He's like, just have a little bit. He was really pushing the cake hard on Max.
Max was like, no, I will not eat that cake. Good for you, Max.

Speaker 3 Yeah. So I got separate sushi and

Speaker 3 I'm tracking all my cows.

Speaker 3 And it's tough. Sunday is going to be

Speaker 3 Sunday's going to be brutal.

Speaker 1 Sunday's going to be hard. Yeah, it's hard.

Speaker 8 Chasing 70. Max, you're going to look like Bartolo Colon when you did the pitching thing.
It's going to be awesome.

Speaker 1 Which, by the way, that's another fucking final best. That's coming up.
That's coming up.

Speaker 3 And teaser, it is nowhere near the challenge that BFT needs.

Speaker 8 No, come on.

Speaker 1 No offense to our guys at UIC who are very welcoming.

Speaker 1 Did they?

Speaker 1 Don't say it. Let's not tease it early.
Did they? Should we just say it? No, did they? Well, I won't say it, but yes, they did. Did they? Yeah,

Speaker 1 yes, they did. I've couldn't remember.
Yes, they did.

Speaker 1 So.

Speaker 1 Oh,

Speaker 5 man.

Speaker 5 They're that good.

Speaker 1 They did. They did.
Yeah, they did.

Speaker 1 I think he's the umpire. Okay, PFT.

Speaker 8 Whoever that could be.

Speaker 8 So, my Fire Fest of the Week, it's not for me per se,

Speaker 8 but it's for Brian Kelly.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 8 In his his shoes i i will submit this firefest uh lsu we love lsu we love lsu we love mike the tiger don't we we love mike the tiger great tiger go tigers

Speaker 8 they used to in the past have a live tiger on the sidelines during games which rocks that's what's awesome about college football which is they don't give a fuck fuck it put the tiger on the sidelines we'll figure out the liability later they no longer have the tiger on the sidelines for i guess ethical treatment of animals stuff okay i think some of the some of the advocacy groups got to them and said, hey, maybe don't drag this tiger around and bring him into a stadium where he gets confused.

Speaker 8 So LSU said, okay,

Speaker 8 we'll take him off the sidelines. And that was kind of the rule for a long time.
And it appears that they are now bringing a tiger back onto their sidelines this weekend. That's cool, right?

Speaker 8 I think that's cool.

Speaker 8 However, it seems like it might be a fake Mike the Tiger that they're putting on the sidelines because people took pictures pictures of Mike and his beautiful enclosure that he has on campus at LSU and they compared the stripes and they think that it's a duplicate Mike.

Speaker 8 They think it's a fake Mike the Tiger that they've brought in. And Mike is some, who knows where Mike is.
He could have been abducted. I hope he's safe.
If you can hear this, Mike, growl three times.

Speaker 8 But the Mike the Tiger that's on the campus right now is allegedly a fake Mike. that the governor of Louisiana got from some cat sanctuary in Florida.
Maybe Carol Baskin's cat sanctuary. I don't know.

Speaker 8 That's where hers is. This is bad.
And they're going to use this new fake Mike the Tiger and bring that tiger into the stadium on Saturday. That's fine.

Speaker 1 For their game.

Speaker 8 So it's going to be a fake Mike the Tiger. It's a duplicate.
It's a clone. The earlobes don't attach.
That's bullshit. So there's some fucked up stuff going.

Speaker 8 And now Brian Kelly has to be answering questions about whether or not the real Mike the Tiger is going to be in the stadium on Saturday, which is like, that's such a funny scenario. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 8 Is Brian Kelly being like,

Speaker 8 why am I taking calls from the governor about whether or not I'm going to have a tiger sitting next to me during a football game? I love this.

Speaker 1 But it's the most Louisiana thing ever.

Speaker 8 Yes. And I love that.

Speaker 8 It's fun college football stuff. But I'm going to have my eyes on this Mike that's going to be at the game.
And I can almost guarantee you it's not the real Mike. Yeah.

Speaker 8 In which case, I am going to be betting against LSU Games. You have to.

Speaker 1 Very hard to. You have to.
That's the worst vibes possible.

Speaker 8 A fake tiger game. Can't do it.
You can't do it at all.

Speaker 1 Can't do it. Can't Can't have it.

Speaker 8 Can't win with it. I stand with the real Mike the Tiger.

Speaker 1 Can't win with it. Nope.
Can't have it.

Speaker 1 All right, I mean, my Firefest is I had kidney stones. Past the big boy.
So

Speaker 1 we're on the mend. Feel good.
Don't feel like my

Speaker 1 dick is going to explode every two seconds when I go to take a piss.

Speaker 9 Did I say you say on Twitter you had to piss into a sieve?

Speaker 1 Yeah. Did you not see me walking around with it? No.
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 8 That's what you got to do when you got the stones. You got to catch them.

Speaker 1 It's like a funnel, and then it's got like it's like a, I was like a gold miner.

Speaker 1 And so I was just pissing through a funnel

Speaker 7 all week.

Speaker 3 Why do you have to catch it?

Speaker 1 So they can test it.

Speaker 1 Which I don't know what they're going to say.

Speaker 1 Like, you're a fat fuck or you're a piece of shit.

Speaker 1 If they give it back, I don't know. I think they break it up.

Speaker 8 They're going to look at it and they're going to say,

Speaker 8 was it made out of secondary marketing?

Speaker 1 Yeah, right.

Speaker 8 If it's got like sodium or calcium, then they're going to be like, well, stop eating this and stop eating that. And then you're going to say, okay.
And then you're going to eat the same things. Yeah.

Speaker 1 So it's good, though, that it's out.

Speaker 1 I feel a lot better. Thank you for everyone.

Speaker 1 It was a shitty, shitty five days.

Speaker 1 And now I also have to deal with when I was putting my daughter to bed tonight, she was like, Can I tell my teacher that you got the rocks out of your belly tomorrow? And I was like, Yeah, I guess.

Speaker 1 Like, we're just going to fucking, I guess it's like, what do you say? Like, no, don't say that. Totally the same thing.
I'm saying it right now.

Speaker 8 Yeah, it is hip-hop. It's fucked up.

Speaker 1 Also, I just want to shout myself out. I finally, I have a bad addiction to

Speaker 1 buying. So I get into algorithms, like parenting algorithms, and I buy, there's all these like different toys that are like supposed to be educational toys.

Speaker 1 And I was like, I'm like, oh, for 30 lifetime buying these and having them just suck. Finally, I bought a good one, and it's big.
But then I got reminded how bad I am at this. So I feel back though.

Speaker 1 Nice work. It's a little puzzle toy.

Speaker 8 That's why you keep buying because you're good at the gold mine.

Speaker 1 Just keep going. Just keep going.

Speaker 1 All right.

Speaker 1 Max in the booth.

Speaker 9 No, I mean, we talked about it. Mine was going to be also my

Speaker 1 cheese 70 my issues with with dieting and trying to lose such a piece of fat ass

Speaker 9 but yeah trying to lose weight uh sucks yeah what are you doing i'm just eating healthy calories in calories out uh

Speaker 9 and just trying again like i have realized that

Speaker 9 I can't not snack when I'm here. Such bullshit.
I can't not snack when I'm here. So I just bought it, but I eat grapes, water.
Max, this isn't right.

Speaker 1 This isn't right, Max.

Speaker 3 There was a moment during the stream stream today that Hank and I both went to the other part of the

Speaker 3 basketball court to get our healthy snacks while everyone else was eating.

Speaker 1 We're in this together.

Speaker 1 You know, you guys are the same number.

Speaker 8 Yeah, but Hank, you got to get strong, too. I know.

Speaker 1 You need those muscles. I know.
I'm still working out.

Speaker 9 That's why it's very hard to lose weight and gain muscle.

Speaker 8 You know, it would be very funny, though.

Speaker 1 I'm sorry, Hank, that you're going through this. Thank you.

Speaker 8 You know, it would be very funny is if you guys met in the middle.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 9 If I could, the second that this dunk shit is over, I am going to bulk up so hard because not having to worry about what I'm eating and calories in and just calories up bulk season, I'm down.

Speaker 8 Hank, you would look hilarious if you were like 220 pounds.

Speaker 1 I don't think I get to 220. He tried to do that.
I know. 10 years ago.

Speaker 1 I got to 190. You got to come belly.

Speaker 1 Because all he did was drink. He just drank milk.
Drank whole milk.

Speaker 3 I don't think I've been 220 since a gallon of whole milk a day.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 Let's finish off with numbers.

Speaker 9 Three.

Speaker 1 Three. Oh.

Speaker 3 99. 21.

Speaker 1 17.

Speaker 1 Wow, really, man. Yep.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 That's a shot at the president. Yep.

Speaker 8 We'll go 97. Hank doesn't believe in those.
40.

Speaker 9 Yeah. Four.

Speaker 1 He just said three. Four.
Is Hank just saying multiple numbers? No,

Speaker 9 I forgot me as three. I thought you were three.
I'll do 40.

Speaker 1 Wait, so three's back open? Yeah. Yeah, 40.
Hey, wait. Numbers.

Speaker 3 43.

Speaker 3 11. 4.

Speaker 1 4. 4.
4. 99.
Pug. 4.
Number 4.

Speaker 8 5.

Speaker 1 Fourth win.

Speaker 3 I thought we were just taking each other's numbers.

Speaker 8 No, I'm doing top 5.

Speaker 1 Top five.

Speaker 1 Oh, Shane later. Shane, get in here.
21.

Speaker 5 Is it 97? 87.

Speaker 1 Oh,

Speaker 1 87.

Speaker 1 That would have rocked if it was 97.

Speaker 1 All right, see everyone on Monday. Love you guys.
