Hello beautiful people

and welcome to the sporing grounds of Canton, Ohio.

It's Hola Fenstar.

Clock 31st.

This program starts now.

Football is absolutely magical and today is the day that we can say that the NFL is officially kicking off its 2025

season.

Here we go.

Now today, just like many years years in the past, this season will start right here at a place that has been honoring legends since 1963.

This is the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

It is raining and we clearly don't have speakers for the crowd.

But what we do have is an excitement level beyond belief because football is back in our life for real tonight.

Harbaugh will be on one sideline.

MCDC will be on the other.

And I believe we have a little bit of breaking news for the Detroit Lions fans.

Tonight, starting for the Detroit Lions, according to source, says,

Kyle Allen will be getting the start, but we will be seeing Hendon Hooker.

From what we have been told.

Now, for the Chargers, we do not have any inside source.

Says.

But as that information rolls out today, we will certainly keep everybody updated.

Tonight's game will not be littered with superstars.

It will not be the guys that we know on every single part of the team, but it will be two NFL helmets helmets battling in front of a building that celebrates greatness from beginning to end in a town that loves ball.

Loves ball.

We've only been able to be here for like the last 18, 20 hours or so, but as you drive through this town, it literally emanates ball.

Everybody here loves ball.

Everybody's committed to the Hall of Fame.

And there's actually telephone pole wires that hold up that are two uprights field goals.

This entire city is committed to ball and we're lucky to be here it's not just me obviously it's obviously the boys the toxic table is here at Boston Connor

not bad they get it and at Ty Schmidt now

Ty Green Bay Packers Sterling Sharp going into the Hall of Fame congrats to him we'll have a chance to chat with most of this year's class but the hall of fame beautiful thing lucky to be here cannot wait to walk through and see all the history of the greatest league on earth yeah without a doubt You know, we've talked about this a little bit.

I don't know if any of us, I mean, I don't know if you guys have.

I know us three, we've never actually walked through and had a tour of the Hall of Fame.

It kind of seems like something, if you're a fan of the NFL, you absolutely need to do, you know, at one point in your life.

So really looking forward to that.

Obviously, you know, all the fans out here braving the weather, but let's be honest.

I mean,

picking off the NFL season, it's football weather.

Yeah, you're damn right.

You got football weather today.

And, you know, it was like 145 degrees yesterday up there in Leitro, Pennsylvania for the Pittsburgh Steelers training kit.

Okay.

Now, fun fact that we learned from Jim President of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Whenever they were creating the pro football, there's some Yanjers here for sure.

Yes, definitely some Yanzers here.

Whenever they were going to create this Hall of Fame back in the 60s, 1963, it was either going to be placed in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, or it was going to be in Kenton, Ohio.

So we just found that out this morning.

Very cool football trip that we have been on over the last two days.

And obviously, you can't come to this state without mentioning a man who's a former president of this state, a college football national champion with the Ohio State Buckeys.

Ladies and gentlemen,

the all-time lady tackle for the Packers.

AJ Hawk is here.

AJ with his uncomfortable and awkward point at a random kid in the crowd.

Right here, this nice lady, right here.

Not just a nice lady here.

There's been people that have been here since like 6 a.m., 7 a.m.

It's raining.

We appreciate the hell out of you for doing this.

We would not have done that for this particular show, but we appreciate that you are doing as such.

The state of Ohio has been great to us.

I feel a lot of kinship with the state of Ohio as people that grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Obviously, I go to school at West Virginia.

These hills, these people, very similar.

Everybody loves ball, AJ.

I think that is one of the fabrics of the state of Ohio and why the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Ohio seemingly makes the most sense.

Yeah, it makes sense, I think.

I mean, look at it, like Ty said, this is football weather for people that actually truly care about football, not casuals.

Yeah, they're here around the set, but I think they would be here either way going around checking out the festivities because this truly is the startup.

I can't really catch it through my earpiece on that, but let's try some good ones.

Yeah, there are people from all over, though.

I would imagine there's people rep like there's people from every NFL city here, don't you think?

I would imagine this weekend's so big for that.

Last night outside of the hotel, there was representatives getting autographs from every team.

People travel in here.

People do an annual trip out to the Hall of Fame.

I'm learning as we go.

This is my first time here other than whenever we played a game here and it got canceled.

Sure.

Don't love that, that that happened.

Wow.

But it was awesome to only play four preseason games.

Not for me, but for the rest of the team.

I don't have to do shit in preseason.

I was just a punter.

With that being said, one of my teammates, nine-year NFL vet, one of the smartest guys in the history of football.

Ladies and gentlemen, Dairy Shea Bowlers.

Debuts.

NFL football is kicking off a game tonight.

NFL helmets will be on a field tonight.

NFL uniforms will be on a field tonight.

Sunday Night Football with NBC will be calling a game tonight.

It feels like we made it, Debuts.

What a perfect time.

Yeah, your mic isn't working.

Come on.

You know what it is?

Hey, I don't want to say it, but you know what?

No, I'm not going going to put that out there.

It's Ohio.

You're back.

You're back.

Kinda, yeah.

Okay, kinda.

Oh,

oh, oh, oh.

It is Ohio.

He's a bitch.

It's a great time in Ohio.

Had a great time last night, you know, at the hotel, having some food and just seeing all the legends out there.

And it's about the guys that are playing tonight, but it's more so about the four legends going in.

What's that?

Nothing.

The hell?

Sorry.

But yeah, it's about the legends going there, going down in immortality in football, man.

They put so much on the line.

I saw so many people, players, coaches, contributors walking around a hotel that I grew up looking up to, man.

So I'm excited about tonight.

And then obviously our future going forward.

We'll have Sunday after Sunday after Sunday after Sunday with football on the screen.

Okay, so there you just mentioned

Sunday after Sunday after Sunday after Sunday.

That's all the way until

February.

February.

We did it.

Long time.

Got a long run.

Zito found this pen in David Banker's office.

I guess he left it around.

This was

the former head of the Hall of of Fame.

He has since moved on.

These big-ass pencils might be the best thing you could buy at this Pro Football Hall of Fame.

But with that being said, the mark store that are outside, the merch that is here, a museum, the

hospitality of everybody that has worked at this Pro Football Hall of Fame.

It's a lot of, I think it's like 90% people that just live in this area.

A lot of pride.

Very thankful for everybody that comes in.

If you've not made a trip here, I think this is something you have to do.

Legitimately, I think it's something.

If you're a football fan, I think this building right here, we saw a

cursive written letter from 1925 that had implications on how football would be run forever.

We saw the actual letter that was sent from Lamar Hunt to Pete Rozelle back whenever the AFL was going to merge with the NFL or whatever it was.

And I'll tell you what, I don't know who he is, but there's a guy named Larry

something

for a reason.

He was from the AFL.

He's the first thing that Lamar Hunt talks about in this letter to the Pete Roselle.

Need to get rid of this guy.

Okay, I don't like what he's about.

Then down there, number point number five in this letter, he says, we need something like the Great Cup.

We need something like Wimbledon.

We need something that's big.

I have jokingly called it the Super Bowl, but we can obviously workshop that in this letter from 19 whenever, 60 something.

And then obviously that would go on to become the biggest game in the history of any league.

And it's like there's artifacts like that from our league and from our game littered all over this building that I didn't know existed until they showed it to us earlier today I saw my draft card

the one that was actually turned in whenever I got drafted it's like this is football paradise and it's the right spot to kick off a league every single year now we are joined by a man named

Well, he's one half of the hammer.

Dad, Cowboys, AP Tone.

Tone, are we gambling on the Hall of Fame game tonight?

And what should we be looking at?

We are 100% gambling on the Hall of Fame game tonight.

As you said, you know, two teams teams with NFL helmets are playing tonight.

So we're definitely gambling on it.

The Lions are favored by a point and a half, so basically call pick them.

So you can just pick the winner tonight.

You mentioned that big news tonight that Kyle Allen will probably be the starter for the Lions.

And then Hennon Hooker will see some time.

Kyle Allen was really good in the preseason last year for the Sealers.

He was 17 and 23 of 23 in the one game that he got.

And then the Chargers side, they have announced Trey Lance will be the starter for at least a half.

And then you get DJ U.

Uriangala.

Yeah, up and down Pollins Greer.

So you'll see DJ U late.

I normally side with the quarterbacks who I would give the advantage, Kyle Allen and Henan Hooker in this spot.

Trey Lance threw five interceptions in one preseason game last year.

I don't know, though.

The hardball record is a lot better in preseason games at MCDC.

All right, so it sounds like you...

Both sides, yeah.

Yeah, it sounds like we didn't really get an answer.

I played the Chargers.

Okay, sweet.

You're betting on this game.

You might have to call the number.

You're betting on this game.

No.

You're talking about NFL football.

It's been so long, Deepa.

This is March Madness of NFL football.

The Chargers are playing their rookies, too.

Armarion Hampton's going to play.

Trey Harris is going to play.

It's going to be exciting to see those.

Yeah, excited to watch the game.

Gambling on it, though, is pretty wild.

We have no idea what's going to happen out there and who's going to run what plays.

Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, senior insider at ESPN.

Ladies and gentlemen, friend of the program, Michigan Man,

Adam Schefter.

Yeah, Shefty.

Looking like a warm reaction.

How you doing, Sheffield?

Shefty, just can you give us one OH real quick just to hear how the reaction goes?

And O.

Oh, Jesus.

All right, Shefty's traveling from one posh event to another.

We understand how Michigan operates.

Shefty, can we get a couple quick updates before we get a chance to speak to these Hall of Famers?

Trey Hendrickson has come out and said, hey, nothing's changed.

Where do we stand with Trey Hendrickson over there in Cincinnati?

And the boys are very disappointed in Trey Hendrickson.

How is everybody else kind of feel about this?

Well, listen, they have near agreement on the length of the deal, the value of the deal, but not the guaranteed money in the deal.

And that's state too

for me.

I see a shepherd for saving Sunday.

And I see a shepherd.

I don't know if that was just the entire state throttling Shefty there.

I don't know if that was the Cincinnati Bengals throttling Shefty there, but I do know I couldn't hear a word he was saying but it sounds like from what trey hendrickson has said nothing has changed and in my eyes the only thing he would be trying to do is extend an all of branch you guys you not me definitely yeah it was you you're on sports center yesterday saying this guy tucked his tail that's what you said you started it i said you said

he started

off you should definitely said it what if a deal gets done here i think that would be considered a success but it seems like everybody's thinking that trey hendrickson looks like a a coward is what we said yesterday but but I don't know if it's a good idea.

That's what you said.

You said, not everybody else said that.

He's trying to get back in the ball.

He wants to get a deal done.

That's what I think is a good thing.

But business-wise, I don't know how this works out for him.

I hope it gets done, but every day he's not on the field.

It's a new D coordinator, right?

Yeah.

New D line coach, new everything.

Is he getting traded?

How do we see this ending if we could just put kind of a bow on to Trey Hendrickson?

I see him just eating $350,000 in fines and then playing.

And then, you know, hopefully he has a great year.

And then next year, he has a great free agency where he does get the money he wants.

But coming in and saying, like, yeah, no, nothing's changed.

I'm just here now.

It's like, okay, well, everything you set out to do, you've accomplished none of it.

So that kind of stinks.

We all, like we said yesterday, think Trey deserves $35 million a year.

So because of that, if you and other people believe that, which a majority of the people do, then you stay.

Like, it reminds you of the Chris Jones thing.

When Chris Jones was going with the Chiefs, he was eating all those fines, but he still stayed strong.

He missed the first actual game against the Lions at home.

On banner night, he was up there with the Katz brothers in the suite.

And then he got paid a bunch of money.

And then after he got paid a bunch of money, he got an extension.

So it's like, hey, Trey, you did the exact opposite thing.

You bent the knee to Mike Brown, who was basically shitting on you for three months.

Katie Blackburn was saying stuff about you for three months.

And now, after this started in February, it's over in July with you basically just looking.

looking like an absolute clown because that's from your point of view from my point of view because you deserve 35 million dollars and you're going to play for 16.

Well, we'll see.

Maybe they'll give him a little bit of a raise.

Maybe this olive branch will be nice because that was originally being talked about.

All I know is Trey Hendrickson back in football camp.

It's because he's a football guy.

Love you, Trey.

He's a good team guy.

He's a good team guy.

He was talking to Shamor.

He's coaching.

Hey, he's a good man.

Can't just run your shoulder into an offensive lineman's chest.

Not going to work.

Maybe use your arms a little bit.

That's good news.

Maybe the Bengals make a run.

And also, people are saying that Joe Burrow right now is looking better than he's ever looked.

This is the best Joe Burrow that they've ever seen.

Obviously, he's only had a couple healthy training camps.

The Cincinnati Bengals notoriously start very slow, put themselves in such a deep hole that all they're trying to do is climb out of it the rest of the season.

Will this year be different?

And is Dre Hendrickson starting week one?

Ooh.

Yes.

I'm going to say that.

Yes, because even if he signs three days before the game, he should start.

AJ, how'd you feel about being on Sports Center telling Trey Hendrickson?

I missed that.

You let me know when I got here exactly.

I thought you were a player.

That's how they popped me up.

You know, taken out of context, I think.

I was speaking as if I was Ty Schmidt.

I was really.

Classic journalism.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to celebrate the Hall of Fame.

It is time to celebrate this year's class.

Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is a man who is the all-time leader in touchdowns at the tight end position.

Change the game.

Kent State basketball legend.

Chargers icon.

Now, officially, Pro Football Hall of favor.

Ladies and gentlemen, Antonio Gene.

Careful.

It's slippy.

Athlete.

It's an athlete.

It's slippy down there.

What's up, man?

It's an athlete.

Hell yeah, man.

Careful.

Don't lean back.

Hey.

What you say, they've got to be an athlete to get up here?

Yeah, man.

You got to be the major athlete to get up here on this list.

Well, thank God it's you, because we went through your shit today.

I don't think we knew your history.

We We knew you were a Kent State basketball player.

We had no idea that you were enrolled at Michigan State when Coach Staben was there.

Asked to play both sports.

He said, no, not going to do that.

I think even you're going to defensive side.

Then you transferred to Eastern Michigan or something like that.

I was on tour, like an artist.

Then you went to Juco.

Then you went to Kent State.

And I was committed to Kent State in high school, my senior year for a point.

Went up on a visit.

They have a whole mural about Antonio Gates up there and you hooping.

And it was like real shit.

Like you were like a real hooper.

Now the world knows you as the greatest tight end touchdown scorer of all time.

What do you think back to those days?

Did you know that the cards were going to be football?

Did you think it was going to be basketball?

Like when you look back now as an official Hall of Famer, I think it all worked out well.

But was there a lot of moments of like wonder how it was going to go for you?

Well, you know, you're always, you know, you're always optimistic that things will go the right direction.

But for me, it was just all about basketball at that point.

I think, you know, even when I went to Michigan State, me going to Michigan State was me, you know, having an opportunity to play the game of basketball.

So

never in a million years had I thought I'd be standing here in Canton, Ohio, being a pro football having fun.

Well, you're sitting right now.

You will be standing later, but nonetheless, it all remains.

And we looked up your stats.

955 catches.

11,841 receiving yards.

116 touchdowns, most in the history of the NFL.

you and phillip rivers had a great connection but the way you played the position was so much different than everybody in the past how easy was it transforming into a tight end in the nfl and then how easy was it transforming the position of tight end forever because if you look now a lot more antonio gates is at tight end than there was before you got in the league you changed the game forever brother yes i appreciate that well uh it wasn't easy because i got cursed out a lot.

Yeah.

So just so we clear, I got cursed out a lot.

I did a lot of off-platform things.

And at the time, I think that is what it means to redefine certain things.

When you do things off-platform, people don't agree with them at times.

I like to use the analogy of

the enemy of great is good.

Hell yeah.

You know, so that was kind of what it was for me.

I would see guys who did it the right way.

And obviously, as a basketball player, I had things that I was used to doing of creating separation.

And, you know, I was going against guys 6'9, 16, so I had to find a way to get my shot off at times.

So playing the game of football, I would do that, and guys say, Coach, say, go to 16.

I'm like, well, he's sitting at 16, coach.

I'm going to go to 14.

You know,

a guy that knocked your head off sitting at 16 yards.

I'm not going to 16, coach.

And I think what happened is that they start giving me the ability to make the adjustment.

And I think when you think of a good athlete, you think of his ability to adapt in the actual space at that moment.

And so when I would run around, I really don't never really know what I'm about to do.

I just make the adjustment at the right time.

And I think that's what gave me an opportunity to be successful in the game of football.

So on that note, we were talking about you earlier today.

AJ Hawk was a rookie and preseason game.

Yeah, yeah.

I don't know if you remember the rep.

He does.

You were on, I think you were at the end of the line, then you motioned out a little bit.

And AJ Hawk, linebacker, has you.

AJ was trying to disguise that he was not covering you.

Okay.

You knew this guy.

You guys did a skim milk check on this guy.

And he said that you hit him with, how many moves did you say?

It felt like 15 moves within like that half a second and obviously you're not wide open you get a catch and then he said immediately afterwards you were like hey you gotta look at my hips dude starting to coach

coaching him up how much of that what was your relationship like with the guys that you played against and at what point did you realize like oh i can get open against basically anybody

Well, you know, it's a natural reinforcement when you make catch passes.

So when I first started in the NFL, I went against a guy named Rod Woodson.

He was playing safety for the Raiders at the time.

And I was a rookie, and I had been playing video games with Rod Woodson my whole life.

So I remember Drew Brees was the quarterback at the time, and they called him a play, and it's like a slot.

I'm out the slot formation, it's backside, and it's one-on-one.

I got a corner out.

And in my mind, I'm thinking, I've been playing video games with Rod Woodson.

There's no way I'm going to get open against this dude.

He's a Hall of Famer, right?

So I went up and made a catch on Rod Woodson.

It was like a third-down conversion.

And I think what happens is that it sends a signal to your brain that I belong here.

And I think ultimately, the more plays I made, the more I felt like, okay, you know what?

I belong here.

I think you got to have it mentally first before you can obviously play it and let it come out in the game.

So you got to have it mentally to make no mistake about it.

No matter how humble I sound, how humble I seem, when I play, I feel like I got this dude.

I can beat him.

You got to have that part in order for it to, you know, come to fruition in real life.

The conversation with the lads afterwards, that was Rod Woodson, bro.

Yeah.

Did you see that?

D-Bun has a question for you.

Yeah, a lot of the guys playing now, look up you and Pat Mitchell.

You changed the position, but who were some of those legends, some of those Hall of Famers?

I know Kellen Williams Sr., Kellen Winslow Sr.

played for the Chargers.

Who were some of those legends you looked up to coming up at the tight end position?

Well, you know, again, basketball was my forte.

I didn't really have, you know, guys that I would say I look up to in a sense.

But I know the idea of when you make...

things happen is the respect factor of guys who've created the lane for you.

And you name the guy like Kellen Wenzel Sr., you know, Marty Schoenham would always say, you know, he would compare me to Ozzie Newsom a lot.

Right.

I'm from Detroit, so I knew a lot about Charlie Sanders.

Guys that just paved the way and created that lane.

So,

you know, when you think about the sport, and then, you know, obviously, you know, Natoni Gonzalez is in the Shannon Sharps and the younger guys now.

So it's so many guys, and I like to use the analogy because they always talk about, you know, who's the best tight end or who's the best this, and that's the comparison in sports.

but the reality of it is is that i treat it like a four by one team we all had the baton at one time and we ran as fast as we can

and i think that's really what it's all about is now we're passing it to the next generation and i see guys like george kittles he you know i mean the guys that's keeping it going and i think that's what it was for me a guy gave it to me and i had it at one moment and i said i got to run my best race you ran

and then pass it to somebody else and hopefully they run hey it's your turn you got to run fast as you can i think that's really what it's all about And I hope, you know, now you see the generation and they constantly growing at the position.

So I'm happy to be a part of that.

How do you feel about tight end university and everything like that?

Talk about changing the position.

I mean, that was kind of the goal of that.

I think it was financial business talk too.

Like, hey, we're starting to catch the ball a lot more.

And they're trying to talk about us as tackles.

We're actually wide receivers as the market kind of changed for everybody, but also like give an inside game to everybody.

You talk about passing the baton.

It feels like they're trying to do that.

Have you witnessed that from afar?

Have you gone to it?

And what are your thoughts on it?

Well, I was invited to it, but I haven't been yet, but I do like what they're doing.

You missed the Taylor Swift conference.

Yeah, yeah, right.

My daughter would be mad about that.

Door to left that swift.

But yeah, I do like what they're doing because at the end of the day, that's really what it's about, right?

It's serving a purpose and having a platform to be able to say, all right, well, I had this opportunity to do X, Y, and Z, and this is the space that I was in.

Now let me tell you what you should do and what you shouldn't do.

And I think that's a great idea for the tight ends and the next generation.

AJ has a question for you as a Ohio guy hits the horn as he rides by in the highway.

It's fascinating to listen to you talk about running routes and I would assume like you had a lot of freedom to run, you know, work off the leverage of your defender.

Like was that always a thing when you were young getting into the league?

And obviously how do you build that rapport with Drew Brees?

Obviously Phillip Rivers we saw the connection you guys had.

How do you earn that trust in the quarterback and the coach to where, hey, hey, I'm going to get open.

You throw it.

You told me one.

Yeah.

Well, you got to earn it.

That's for sure.

You know, I think what happens is that it's repetition.

it starts with underneath the surface so they would know that at the end of the day I'm working beyond my means so I it means more to me to have success than it does to the coach staff and everybody around me I think that's just something that you build that's what training camp is for right you start with them dog days that foundation you're working hard I'm the last one to leave I'm working hard I'm running more I'm running extra I'm doing extra and ultimately when I get out there it means just as much for me to do it right than anything because I know guys are dependent on me so that was my philosophy going into any game: that, man, these dudes believe in me.

The game plan is surrounded by number 85.

I need to make sure I deliver.

And I think that meant the world of me that guys would believe in me to that level.

So I would always make sure

I would do the best I can and, you know, set the tone, you know, as fast as I can.

Ty-ins, question for you.

Hall of Fame, Antonio.

Yeah, so just curious, he just mentioned Phil Rivers there.

In terms of, like, whenever his name gets brought up, it's always, hey, is this guy a Hall of Famer?

Obviously, we see his numbers, they're incredible, but then the Super Bowl discussion always comes up.

What was it like having him as a teammate?

We've all seen the videos.

Like, his personality, I truly believe he's one of one in terms of like his personality.

When you look back at your career, like, how thankful were you to have a guy like that as your quarterback?

And just what was it like being teammates with him?

Wow, I mean, you're talking about

a fiery, passionate,

his IQ was unmatched, man.

I always knew that he was going to come compete.

I think that's what we had in common is that our ability to go out and compete.

I knew he was going to give it his all.

And he's going to trash talk along the way.

So, I mean, you know, so

you got to be prepared because he'll be trash talking to guys that you got to block.

So, you know what I'm saying?

So that was the hardest thing.

You know, God, you know, Richard Seymour was a big dude, Phillip.

So, you know, you keep talking to him.

I got a trade block to Richard Seymour, and he's mad at Phillip, you know what I'm saying?

So

it's the greatest fit in the world to have a guy like that on your side because it makes the game fun, too.

Because at the end of the day, we play the game for all the other stuff, X's and O's, and the money.

But you kind of keep that same kid energy, that 14, 15-year-old kid.

Let's go out here and have fun, man.

We playing in the NFL.

We got the best job in the world.

We get to play games and get paid.

That's, man, that's what he loved to do, is he loved to play football.

You look pretty jocked still.

Look pretty jocked.

I don't know if that's just going to be forever you or if you're still getting accurate or not.

You think you don't get enough credit for being able to block?

Nobody ever mentions your name with blocking.

I know, I know.

Well, people don't know this, but in order to start for Marty Scheinheimer, you got to be able to block power and counter, man.

So I started with Marty Scheinheimer, and the reason why I started is because of my ability to block power and trade block go to backside back and ability to block Connor.

So people really don't never, they don't never say that.

But

the athletic part came later on.

I had to block power and Connor because the AOT was getting the ball.

You know what I'm saying?

You could say you cut your teeth.

Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, pick up.

Yeah, you earned the passes to block you there.

Nobody ever says that about Antonio Guy.

They say everyone's like,

160 touch ass.

I know.

This guy's a threat through the sky.

11,841 yards.

Holy shit.

They don't talk about it.

You have to be able to block.

You have to be tough, too.

Yeah, absolutely.

That's how you get the ball.

Last question here.

This guy looks still jacked and obviously always going to be athletic.

Can I come, man?

Oh, no.

Connor's microphone's off.

Oh, no.

Oh, no, Connor's microphone is.

Here, here, here.

There it is.

Boom.

Nice catch.

Obviously, Antonio.

You know, you play basketball, Ken says that's part of it.

I don't think any of us knew how much success you guys went to in Elite Eight, you know, and you're the star of that team.

That's absurd.

Now that you are, you know, Hall of Famer in the NFL, is there...

Congratulations, it's incredible.

Is there a shot maybe you now turn back to basketball, join like Ice Cube's big three, possibly get back back into hooping.

Are you still hooping or no?

Yeah, no, I'm not hooping, man.

Football is the wear and tear on your body, so I can't really go out and play as much now.

But I do watch my kids play.

I enjoy watching them play, but I do not pick up the basketball, haven't picked it up probably in about six years.

Damn.

Six years?

Six years.

It's like six years.

I haven't played it.

We don't even get like, yeah, I mean, I still can have a four.

I mean, I was a scorer.

Yeah, I'm left at it.

You know what I'm saying?

Yeah, see, you can't shoot.

I can see it all.

You got to have the ball.

You You know what I'm saying?

Right, I'm laughing at it.

Yeah, but he got it like this.

You know what I'm saying?

So

you got to have a flick of the wrist.

You know what I'm saying?

It's your Hall of Fame weekend.

Okay, it's your Hall of Fame weekend.

You haven't shot a ball in six years.

Six years.

I'd light your ass up right now.

You know what I'm saying?

I think the game was so lucky that you played it.

I think the league was lucky to have you.

I think the Chargers organization as a whole was lucky to have you represent them.

And I guess the last question would be,

what are your thoughts on where the Chargers are headed right now?

We love Harbaugh.

We love Jim Harbaugh.

We love Justin Herbert.

We love

national champion in Michigan.

Jim Harbaugh, now the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

The ownership spent $300 million on a practice facility in 2024, 2025.

Like that never happens anymore.

The Spanish feels like they are trying to move the chips in.

Tough division out there.

We all understand that.

What are your thoughts on the state of the Chargers and what what it could be out there in Los Angeles?

Well, I would say, you know, the more they be together, the more continuity that it will build.

Last year was his first year as a head coach, and we were super excited.

And to see the situation, what I thought was going to be a challenge to change the style of what the West Coast ball is normally like, coming from the Midwest, the running style.

Oh, got it.

To see that, because you know, in the West Coast, they like to throw the football.

So to see that, you know, you start building the foundation from the offensive line and start building out.

And to see that happening and us winning games is uh is is refreshing to say the least so i'm super excited about what they're going to do after a year on the hardball and then the guys being together you know collectively for a whole year um who wins tonight

in my house i got my shirt on man

i got my shirt you ain't got to ask me no questions

we got some real degenerates around here that are going to gamble on tonight's game do you have any inside information on the los angeles chargers tonight yeah they're going to play okay

Hall of Famer, all-time leading touchdown scorer at the tight end position in the history of the NFL.

Legend, ladies and gentlemen.

Busted-ass jumper heaven.

Appreciate it, man.

Appreciate it, bro.

Let's see you, man.

Yes, sir.

Appreciate you, Antonio.

What a legend.

I'm not a left.

Not at all.

What was that guy's dude?

Just talking junk.

I had no idea, you know, he was a lefty.

They were showing his clips right there.

I saw he got a nice little jumper.

Dude, at Kent State,

he went there on the visit.

Great time, by the way.

Great time.

Oh, yeah?

Great time at that.

We had a good time.

They had a mural of him down the whole hallway.

And every one of them was like nasty highlight pictures.

And he's an agent.

He's crazy.

Look at him.

Ah.

Ah.

ah.

Get off me.

And now he's a Hall of Famer here in Canton, Ohio.

I'll tell you what, the weather has certainly been a factor.

Lost a couple speakers.

We lost a microphone.

But these football people have been standing in a parking lot.

Oh, yeah.

I can't hear things at times.

I don't think they can either.

But what an honor it is to kick off football here in Canton, Ohio.

I also appreciate the truck drivers that roll by and hit the old howdy you doing because they might be watching while they're driving.

We'd like to tell you, keep your eyes on the road.

It's raining out here.

But also, Bogey up here on the right.

I think we saw him on the way in.

Keep your eyes peeled.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Hall of Fame train continues.

Antonio Gates is first.

Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now: a man who had 54 interceptions in his career.

787 tackles.

Five force fumbles.

Nine TDs.

Three-time all-pro

six-time Pro Bowler.

Eagles legend.

Eric Ello.

Gaps up a John with a beard right there.

The play.

The play.

How are you doing, man?

Thank you for coming.

Hell yes.

Thank you for having me.

Congratulations.

Congratulations, man.

Hey.

Yeah.

Congrats, Hall of Famer, dude.

Appreciate you, man.

Appreciate you, man.

Come on.

Congratulations to you.

We were in the hotel last night down there in the

lobby restaurant area.

Right.

And we saw you hanging out over there.

We saw everybody kind of rolling through there.

How has it been to just be at the position of the same exact place as all the legends that have basically created this league?

Was last night a cool moment?

Whenever you get told, obviously, you're going in the Hall of Fame, very emotional.

Has it all settled in, especially after now you've got here to Canton and seen the other gold jackets?

You know what?

It really has.

I think the knock on the door with Randall McDaniel kind of solidified it.

Me and Randall went on a recruiting trip to college together when we were 15 or 16 years old.

So obviously, Randall, one of the best guards in the history of the National Football League.

So they did a pretty good job of hiding it from me.

But when I opened that door and saw Randall there with that gold jacket, man, it just kind of like cemented everything.

You know, all the hard work, the sacrifice.

And that's what this is all about, you know, that journey there.

It's nice to be acknowledged too, you know?

Yeah, for sure.

And I think finally getting the acknowledgement, was there a sense of fulfillment?

Was there a sense of I knew all along?

Or what is like kind of the mindset of it?

No, not for me.

Not for me.

I think validation for the family members and all those teammates and that support and coaches who all, you know, believed in me.

I was given like a piece long ago that, you know, it was just about time, right?

And I was never really tripping worried about if I would get here.

I knew it would be a time when I'd be here.

It was just about validating all of those people in my corner, right?

The coaches, the players, the fans, you know, who always had the stats and was talking about, yeah, you should be there with Daryl Green and Prime and those guys.

So I'm just graded to be on the same team with all my brothers.

That's awesome.

Devon has a question for you.

So along the way, you mentioned the coaches, teammates.

Who was that coach that you would say had the biggest impact on you, on your game?

And what was that moment or the biggest thing that you figured out during the game?

Because I know it's a lot of people watching, players, fans, young kids who want to be where you are.

So what was that thing that you learned that kind of took you a long way in your career?

Well, let me tell you, man, a coach named Willie Shaw.

And he's David Shaw's dad who coached at Stanford.

But Willie coached in this league a long time.

And it was about preparation, kind of understanding that to be a great player, it was about playing from your neck up.

You know, you can have all the speed and the height and all that stuff, but my deal was I'm going to be be where the ball is at the end of the play.

I can care less about what Jerry or Michael or what these great receivers are doing at the line of scrimmage.

I'm going to be where the ball is going to be at the end of the play.

And to be able to get to that point, you have to have great preparation and have a great understanding of what not just the quarterback is doing, but what the offensive coordinator is doing.

So in the offseason, I would take whoever's...

offense is that one and usually it was the west coast offense i would take that offense in the offseason and I would be Jerry Rice.

I would run every route that Jerry Rice is going to run.

I would take the Dallas Cowboys offense and I would run Michael Irvin's routes.

I would be the Buffalo Bills.

I would run Andre Reed's routes.

I would be the Atlanta Falcons run Andre Rice and routes.

So when I got to the game and it was a portent situation,

hey man, if it's going to be a quick slant, Jerry, you know you're going to run it.

I'm going to run it too.

So I'm going to be in the right spot.

So it didn't always work, but of course, when you're going against someone like my buddy Sterling Sharp, now that's it.

Congratulations to Sterling.

Yeah, Sterling's big time.

He's a different dude, man.

He's like, he was a T.O.

before T.O.

big, strong, physical.

If you get in press in front of Sterling, he's going to grab you and move you

in with you to play.

So on that note, let's talk about how football used to be.

I know the OGs always talk about that.

I see you got some busted-ass fingers.

Always.

There's Jersey.

Always.

Yeah, yeah.

There's jerseys, obviously, and helmets and everything.

When you view today's game and today's DBs, I mean, we got guys running 4-2, 4-3s out there, and they're not allowed to grab as much.

They're going to be very tricky with it.

What do you think of the state of DB play right now and covering people?

I love it.

I love it.

As many of you know, I work with the Raiders, so I do post-game, pre-game, interview players.

And my deal is I love talking to the receivers, Devontae Adams and those kind of guys, to kind of get an idea of what the DBs now have to deal with.

And man, not being being able to get your hands on guys now, man.

Not able to dislocate your pinky on this guy's junction.

It's a whole different game.

So man, so for the corners who are balling today, man, they're really cerebral players now, right?

They have all the athleticism and all the measurables that you have to have.

But I love the fact these guys are cerebral.

I have a lot of these young players come approach me and talk to me about the game and how they can get better.

So that's really what stands out now.

These young guys having a great idea of kind of what's happening and what's going on.

AJ has a question for you.

He also has some terrible figures.

When you watch the game now, do you think the game, the game is always evolving?

It feels like for a little bit we had, hey, we're spreading out, they call it basketball on grass, whatever.

I feel like now at least the game's getting more physical.

We were at Steelers training camp.

They were tackling to the ground.

I saw what the Browns are tackling to the ground.

I feel like we hear Ben Johnson makes comments about the Bears having their longest, toughest practice day.

Right, right, right.

And seeing who's going to survive.

Like, do you think the game is coming back even to a more, like, yeah, a safer, but even more physical form than it has been maybe the last last five, eight years.

Without a doubt.

And the big reason why is because the Birds, the Eagles.

The Eagles are a physical football team, right?

And they're the champs right now, right?

So whatever that champ mentality is, that's what everyone else is going to try and copy.

I imagine this year everyone's going to try and get a running back, right, and try and figure out a way that you can get to some third and short situations.

But as you know, there's not going to be any more three days, right?

We used to have three days.

Not me.

I missed the three days.

Oh, my goodness.

Yeah, two.

Two days, we'd have two practices of full hitting, and then the third practice would be conditioning, right?

So it was all.

It was like six weeks long, too.

I feel like it's a good thing.

Who put that tweet out the other night?

Somebody put a tweet out the other night, OG.

It was like, I went to training camp for six weeks, and we had three practices.

Everything.

It was like back in my day, uphill both ways.

It has changed

physical presence.

All the money.

Yes.

And you have to protect your guys, your assets.

You got to protect your assets.

The one thing that has to continue to improve, though, is the tackling, right?

That's the one thing.

If you're going to be physical defensively, we have to figure out a way to really get the ball carrier on the ground without putting yourself in jeopardy.

So I think that's the next phase defensively: is to make sure we're tackling properly so we can continue to play that physical game.

But after those guys are finished, they don't have the head trauma and things like that.

Speaking of head trauma, you guys used to do some wild stuff going on.

And now, hold up, hold up, hold up.

What do you mean, you guys?

You.

But now, I will say, we appreciate your era of football so much.

None of this happens without you guys.

And then obviously the guys that are before you.

Football is beautiful.

And what you guys did, I think Antonio Gates was a great way to describe it.

He talked about the tight end position, how everybody says, who's the greatest, who's the greatest?

He's like, I took the baton and carried it to the next generation.

It feels like all of football is like that.

Pat, let me tell you something, man.

I was in the perfect sweet spot, right?

So I played against Joe Montana and those 49er teams, 88 and 89, when they were rolling, right?

They had Jerry, Mike, they had all tremendous players.

I ended my career playing against Tom Brady.

So I have a window of looking at all these great players.

And then I'm able to sit on the sideline and watch Mahomes.

So I just kind of take it all in, and it's changed.

from era to era, but the one thing that remains constant is it's really all about the team.

There's no one individual that's going to be able to win by himself.

It has to be a collective.

Adam Veneteri was able to do it.

Adam Venetier was able to do

by himself.

Listen, no, listen.

Now I was in that game, right?

I started my career against the Bears in the playoffs.

Listen, listen.

The Fog Bowl.

I was in the Fog Bowl in 88 and then ended my career at the Tuck Rule games, right?

Wow, what a run.

And I'm not sure if you guys know, they call a timeout before the play,

before the sack, right?

And Brady comes over to the officer coordinator, Charlie Weiss.

I'm on the Patriots sideline, and I hear Charlie tell him, hey, we're going to go three by one and throw the slant the back side.

They don't see me.

I run back to the huddle, and I'm like, hey, man, listen, listen.

They're going three by one.

They're going to throw the slant backside.

And I hope I'm on that slant side because I'm taking it to the house, right?

And so we get the slant.

My linebacker is William Thomas, great friend of mine, telling Willie T, sit in the first window, and you're going to get a pick.

If not, I'm going to get one.

So Woodson comes off the side, sacks him.

I run to the sideline, tell everybody the story, and then there's that pause.

Oh, no.

That pause.

And that referee, whoever his name is, he goes to the sideline and he's looking up and listening to this and that.

I'm not sure what happens after that.

Gets the call.

And now Raiders fans forever.

That's right.

That's right.

They are.

Yeah, that's right.

They are, for sure.

And by the way, Adam Vinatari misses that kick.

We don't have the conversation.

Exactly.

That's right.

But Adam Vinatari does what Adam Vinatari does.

He walks out in the middle of hell.

He knocks that thing through just to make sure.

You understand?

Dins has the last question for you.

All right, Eric.

You started your career with Buddy Ryan.

You ended your career with John Gruden.

Now you get to see Pete Carroll almost every single day.

Do you like when the head coach has a big personality?

He's a little feisty.

Yeah, I do.

I do.

I think that bodes well, especially for our group of being the Raiders.

This is our fifth head coach in five years, right?

But Pete's the kind of guy who can get it done.

He has receipts that he's been there to the big games.

When you go to Kansas City and you're playing the Chiefs, you're playing the Chargers, you're playing the Broncos, who have coaches who have been there and done that before consistently, you need to have a coach that has done the same thing.

And I think him and Geno are going to bring a little more pepper to the Raiders.

Speaking of Pepper, how's the speech?

It's good, man.

It's good, man.

You feel good about it?

I do.

I do feel good.

In the mirror, we've done it in front of family.

We've done it only to ourselves.

We've done it.

How much?

How much work?

You know what?

When I'm sleeping at night, boom, I go over it.

It's in there.

The only thing is

guys on the teams are giving me calls late.

You know, whoever they think is going to call late is going to get mentioned, but no.

No.

I keep looking at the Venmo.

The Venmo's not getting bigger.

So, you know what I'm saying?

You're not getting mentioned if the Venmo account is not changed.

We can't wait to watch you be celebrated all weekend.

Congratulations.

How about Catton, Ohio?

These people are going to be a little bit more comfortable.

Oh, man.

It's been awesome, man.

It's been awesome.

There you go.

See, look at that.

Represent, baby.

Yeah.

This guy's been drinking John Daly's all morning.

Yes, he has.

$5 John Daly's drink.

That is what I'm doing.

There you go.

And then the Philadelphia Eagles, John over here was a chunk of the fish.

Oh, yeah, with the cowboy guy right here.

Yeah.

Yeah.

330.

And on that note,

all right.

E A G L E S E go

Couple drawns out here.

The whole world's going to celebrate you.

Congrats on being a Hall of Favor.

Thank you for coming by.

Cheers, man.

Ladies and gentlemen, Hall of Favor, Eric Allen.

Congratulations, man.

14 years in a second or four.

Crazy.

That's a long time.

Congrats.

His fingers.

There's 40%.

Congratulations.

He's got a 40%

his fingers.

Yeah, that arrow, I think, the majority of those players.

They were fingering pads, right?

I mean, we were trying to get.

We were trying to get right in there.

Tackling somebody's turns.

Jerseys are a lot looser, too, so I think the fingers are getting jammed and jerseys getting caught and ripped up.

Twisted.

It's getting a little breezier.

The rain has not relented.

I do appreciate everybody hanging out with us, chucking these $5 drinks.

There's a bunch of them back in.

That's a good price.

I think, $5 is a good price.

Because it's probably, what, like, a dollar worth of stuff, $1.50 in there.

They could charge something astronomical like a lot of people do.

$5 drinks.

It feels like every $5 beers, $5 John Daly's, $5 this, $5 that.

Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise.

Jared Allen.

Jared, can I go through your stats?

Because you just blew right through.

I was supposed to do the stats while you were walking up.

Oh, yeah.

My bad.

Ladies and gentlemen, a man

who had 136 sacks,

32 forced fumbles,

two tugs,

and force one man to run out of the back of an end zone.

That's tough, Daniel.

That's going to be a long weekend for you, I think, or Lovsky.

Glad to have a Jared Allen is here.

Appreciate it.

Thanks for having me.

Congratulations.

Thank you so much.

Love the show.

You guys are killing me.

Well earned, well deserved.

How's it feel to be here?

We saw you last night looking very trim.

We'll get into that here in a matter of moments.

But how's it feel to be amongst the immortals basically here in the NFL?

Good, good.

Just take it as it comes.

I don't try to look farther than my feet, you know what I mean?

So, but it's good.

It's a great honor.

It's one of those surreal things because you can't really do anything.

to earn it and you get the award you get the recognition so many years after you play you did a lot to earn it

after you retire but when But when you're playing, you're not thinking about that, right?

You're trying to win Super Bowls.

You're just trying to be the best guy you can be.

You're trying to outdo yourself from the year before.

And this becomes a byproduct of it.

So it's one of those surreal moments where you're kind of reliving the past

and get recognized for it so many years later.

So it's good, but the coolest part about it is being up with the legends.

Like, you know, sitting there talking with Randall McDaniel, you know,

meeting guys that, you know, I used to watch the 100 toughest films for every high school game, 100 toughest NFL, 100 toughest men.

And to actually get meet those guys, you know,

seeing some of the guys that have passed, meeting their wives and their families.

So that's cool.

And just listening to guys talk, I was talking to Jan Stederu the other day, you know, fellow Norwegian.

Hell yeah.

And so just, you know, Willie Lanier hearing his story, and I haven't seen Willie for years and years and years since the Chiefs.

So

just

super cool, super fun experience.

I haven't heard Jan Stedere's in it.

Had to write that one down there.

AJ has a question for you, Jared.

Yeah, Pat asked Eric Allen about a speech.

What about your speech?

Did you write it yourself?

Do you feel comfortable?

Call me.

Oh,

is it going off the top of your head?

Read it?

What do you do?

So I started off the top of my head, right?

And then the hall is very controlling, they try to be sometimes.

They want you to check in.

I refuse to check in.

I refuse to be censored.

I'm not your answer.

They want you to send your outline.

They want you to send a speech.

What else could this speech be?

And I'm like, absolutely nuts.

I will not send a speech until yesterday.

No, so I wrote it myself.

It was all up in my head.

My wife was like, you might want to actually write it down.

So as great thoughts popped in my head, I wrote them down, organized them.

You know what?

It's pretty awesome.

Maybe.

I don't know.

Send a lot of love to a lot of people.

Yeah, it's a typical.

Let's be honest.

There's 380 speeches that have been...

I'm through number 380, right?

So 380, 79 people have spoken before me.

There's not going to be a lot of original stuff coming out of my mouth.

There could be.

How shout out to my high school coach believed in me.

Yeah, we're going to hit the topics.

We're going to hit the topics.

Throw a little humor in there.

Wife, Wife, love you.

Everything so much.

I was like, this could either go 23 minutes with me rambling or two minutes.

It'd be like, thank you, everybody.

No, you don't do two minutes.

We need you right there in the middle.

It's going out and speaking.

We're good.

I just ran it through the teleprompter.

I'm 11 minutes with Pop.

So we're good.

Okay, good.

They banked in the clap and the laugh break.

Is that a laugh?

That's up to the audience.

Oh, they'll deliver.

I got some jokes that I hope don't fall flat.

Cars on the highway will also be cheering for you as you go.

D-Bud has a question for you, Jared.

Yeah, when Antonio was up here, he talked about him, you know, watching Rod Woodson and having a route when he made a catch, and that was kind of one of his moments.

He was like, okay, if I get open against Rod Woodson, I can get open against anybody.

You had a long, elite career, but was it a play or a game or maybe a tackle you went up against, a quarterback you sacked?

That he was like, okay, I've kind of arrived, even though you obviously bump your ass off the whole thing.

Yeah, that's actually part of it.

I don't want to get the story away because it's in my speech.

Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't.

Yeah, but early in my career, let's put it this way, I took some lumps in the practice field, right?

And you learn very fast.

I had the displeasure and pleasure of practicing against Willie Rofe every day.

And I think he's the greatest tackle to ever play the game.

And some people agree, some people don't.

That's my opinion.

But I knew if I could learn to beat him, I could beat anybody.

And so, you know, I think probably one of the first The first times I figured, you know,

we're going to be good was just, A, learning through Willie and knowing what I was practicing against.

But yeah, I mean, I got my first sack, I think it was like week three or four or something like that against

the Texans.

And,

I mean, just obliterated the tackle.

He disappeared.

He disappeared.

And I was like, okay, we can do this.

Oh, my God.

Yeah, yeah.

How many of these guys are in the league?

Did you do this immediately?

No, so that, so when I was a rookie and my first couple years,

the vets, you know, the vets tell you what to do, you got to do it.

So the vets would make stuff up for me to do on Saturday.

Jack Sawyer was just carrying TJ Watts' helmet off the field yesterday.

Yeah, so like I one game they'd make me do spirit fingers.

No joke, I got a $5,000 fine my very first sack.

It was a preseason, so it didn't count against Eli.

I did the slap the, you know, like flex the leg out, you know, like bodybuilders do.

They said it was sexually suggestive.

$55.

$5,000.

Yeah, we don't know, especially with your sexual look, man.

So then I had to do the lawnmower one week.

They would make me do like high kicks.

So finally,

they used to make me do all sorts of dump stuff.

The Neil Smith, Neil Smith got put in the Ring of Honor, and I did his celebration, hit a home run, had a couple sacks against the good old Chargers.

I also loved Phillip Rivers.

He held the ball a long time.

Love you, Phillip.

And was not the greatest mobile quarterback of all time.

Boy, the guy could play ball.

Oh, fantastic.

Oh, I love that.

That's what I love about it.

But I got a couple sacks, and Neil was like, hey, man, I appreciate you doing my celebration.

You need to do something that's you.

And I grew up on horse ramps, renting cutting horses, and I used to grow up calf roping.

And And so we were talking about, I was like, man, when you calf rope, right?

You throw the calf down, you tie up three legs, put your hands in the air, stop the clock.

So we started doing that on quarterbacks about a year, I think, my second year, and it stuck.

Legendary.

The best.

Also, you're like the only cowboy doing light ranching.

You ride a damn horse into the retirement thing.

It's like, are you still riding horses?

Are we still...

Oh, absolutely.

I'm still light ranching a little bit.

Oh, yeah, I'm still roping, all that fun stuff.

My hands are just healing up.

I got tore up at a jackpot.

A jackpot?

What is a jackpot?

It's a rodeo?

Roping, yeah.

It's just a roping competition.

Are you in it?

Yeah.

Are you by far the largest human being that's on top of these horses that are doing these things?

Yes.

Now, on that note, you're much smaller than you were.

Correct.

Are you, I don't want to give away the story, but as soon as we saw you, we thought you were doing like the Iron Man cycling race,

the post-NFL career.

Nope.

That's not the case.

No, so at first.

Actually, something very scary.

So at first, I realized muscle weighs more than fat, so I quit lifting weights.

Right, just get rid of the muscle.

Yeah.

That's health tip number one, people.

Get rid of the muscle.

I'm on a lot of science trying to build it.

Hold on right now, but okay, I'll listen to you.

You're holding teasing.

But no, so then I was losing weight rapidly, right?

I couldn't figure out, like, I randomly dropped 10 pounds.

I couldn't gain it back.

I randomly dropped 10 pounds.

So I was doing all these tests trying to figure out what I had, make sure I wasn't dying.

And then my doctor found out doing some absorption tests that I had alpha gal, which I got bit by a lone star tick when I was out in the woods one time.

And it makes me allergic to the sugars in mammal meat, any mammal meat.

Wow.

And so I was having some digestive issues and losing weight.

So now I'm on the fins and feathers diet for a little bit so I can get it out of the diet.

Fins and feathers.

I like that.

Just calling fins and feathers.

And yeah, just trying to get weight back on.

And now I got to start lifting weights again.

How long has this been happening?

I don't know.

I just found out, but it's been happening probably anywhere five or six years.

I just found out this year.

Yeah.

How long?

Is this forever going to last?

No, some people, it's forever.

I'm lucky I have it light, so I might be able to get it out of my system.

Some people have to carry EpiPens.

Some people can't even touch grease or use hand soaps that have beef gelatin microwave like that.

Holy hell, that's crazy.

Well, I'm happy you figured out what it was.

Yeah, for sure.

Because it did look like you had a 32-inch waist when you walked in.

Yeah, 34, but yeah, it's getting there.

Let's get there.

Let's get there.

Nice.

You could be a tailor.

Yeah, we were eyeballing it.

I was like, that dude's got a 32-inch waist, I think.

What sucks is when you get smaller here, your head doesn't change.

So the head looks bigger.

It's like, oh, this is not a good one.

You just eat the whole thing.

No, you look healthy.

Yeah.

Even though you weren't at all.

Outside looking in, you looked very good.

And also, the hair still looks phenomenal.

Oh, yeah.

You know what?

And Connor, I appreciate you letting it flow tonight.

Actually, funny enough,

before the show, I said,

fuck Jared Allen.

I'm going to be a career.

And then, you know, when I saw you, I said, you know, this is Jared Allen's weekend.

You know, this is something that's cool.

It's

an incredible honor.

Last night, for those that don't know, which is everybody that's listening, Jared Allen walked over to us in the lobby restaurant of the Hall of Fame thing.

Walks over to us.

We have like a 35-second encounter.

Great to see you.

Holy hell, you look good.

Well, I'm actually not good.

Does the lone star thing, the whole alpha goal.

And then he looks at the table, he sees Connor, and he goes,

You got a man bun?

And then he looks at the rest of the table, he goes, You guys are letting them do this?

It was within 45 seconds, just murders Connor immediately.

And Connor goes, Okay.

And then obviously,

it's not a degree.

Super defensive.

He got super defensive.

My hair is longer than yours.

You can't tell it's in a bun, bro.

My daughter's wear a bun, so that's cool.

But I'm just saying, with a mane like that, dude, and it's a windy day.

That thing's just got to be wet.

No.

Now, windy and wet.

We were actually.

I was going to ask you a completely different question, but what should I do with my hair, man?

Like, I don't know what to do with my hair.

Every time you're in a public swimming pool, you should just duck your head under and just come out and just shit.

Like, that should be

swimming pools.

I'm not swimming in this.

What are we talking about?

I like that idea with the pool, but that doesn't change my hair.

I'm talking about changing the hair.

Hey, we got a minute and a half

before I heard amazing.

You burying Connor was wonderful.

Toad has a question for you.

Last one.

Minute and a half.

Dude, do you get a commission or percentage when Miles and TJ get paid $40 million a year?

Like

the DNs and the edge rushers before then?

Do you guys get a commission for that?

Unfortunately, I don't.

And you know what?

Every generation says the same thing.

Oh, man, if I was playing today, I would have been super paid.

Like, imagine Reggie White was playing today.

They'd have to pay him a billion dollars.

He'd be the first billion-dollar concept.

See you guys ever.

No, I just like seeing the success, man.

I like like seeing guys that are still playing all four downs or all three downs, right?

Like Miles Garrett up here, he's a beast, right?

TJ,

he's making plays just other than the pass rush, you know, and that was what, you know, when you get high sack numbers, a lot of people start focusing on that, right?

You know, I came from like I heard Antonio talking about Marty Ball, and he had to, I mean, I played against Antonio, right?

Which tight ends are still only half people, just so we're all killed.

Half people.

We win the D-line and we don't consider them full people.

They're only half people.

They're not CJ Watt Friar moves.

But anyways, they,

yeah, so I like seeing those guys carrying the torch and still, you know, setting that pace of being a football player, not just a pass rusher.

Well, Jared, we appreciate you being a football player, a great human, a hilarious one.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, officially, a Hall of Famer.

Enjoy the hell out of your weekend.

Ladies and gentlemen, Jared Allen.

Appreciate you, baseball.

Thank you so much, man.

Yep, he's going to put some more weight on it.

Yeah, I'm going to go eat.

Yeah, he needs to eat something.

Disappearing.

34-inch waste is insane, but he's a legend.

Football!

is kicking off this evening as the Chargers and the Lions will play in the Hall of Fame game and we will all celebrate the fact that football is all the way back.

It is a perfect day here in Canton, Ohio

as it's rainy, it's windy and there's a lot of Ohio

folks standing in a parking lot getting drenched celebrating football in its entirety.

The first hour we had a chance to chit-chat with three out of the four dudes that are going into the Hall of Fame this year.

We did put a request in for all four dudes that are going into the Hall of Fame this year.

I don't know if it was scheduled, timing, or anything else.

I just want to let that was not on us.

Anybody's going to talk about it?

That was on the other side.

Correct.

And also, kind of understandable for whatever reason.

It's not just me, the talking tables here at Boston Connor and that Todd Schmidt.

One half of the hammer.

Don't Cowboys AP Tone is here.

College football national champion for the OH

State Buckeyes Super Bowl champion.

Ladies and gentlemen, A.J.

Hawk is here.

Nine-year NFL vet.

I don't want to step on that.

Speech.

AJ Hawk is getting his name chanted by Bruce Brown, who's standing out in the rain with everybody because he did not want to be in the truck with the entire group of dipshits, is his exact word.

I don't think he's talking about you, Foxy, back there in the truck, but you boys are doing a great job.

We appreciate you.

Yes, sir.

Nine-year NFL vet.

Absolute genius, ladies and gentlemen.

Dairy shade bothers.

Debut.

We appreciate you, Debutch.

In about

17 minutes or so, I believe we'll be breaking some news with another incredible honor of having a high school commitment take place on our show.

We don't know how this has become a thing for us, but we want to let everybody know we're pumped about it.

Pretty cool.

The guy that's going to be joining us today.

is six foot three, 260 pounds

going into his senior year from Alabama.

High school.

And Anthony Anthony Tank Jones.

And they're going to say, Tank Jones,

Tank Jones,

Tank Jones,

Tank Jones.

This guy's a monster.

He's huge.

And he's making this commitment here in about 17 minutes.

I believe with the way he is built and the mindset that he has and how everybody talks about him, there's a chance that he ends up in this damn Hall of Fame.

There's also a lot of players right now that we have a howling around the NFL that could be destined for Canton, Ohio in their time.

Let's talk about a rookie who is attempting to do something that has never been done before.

Let's go down to Jacksonville, Florida.

More specifically, Duval

County, new coach, new GM.

This is what they had to say the day after the draft when they traded a lot of assets to get up to number two to make their pick out of Colorado.

Yeah, you know, as we sit here,

Travis Hunter is a Jacksonville Jaguar.

And really what comes to mind for me, right?

Thinking about the sport of football and really the power of the game itself, right?

Its capacity to ignite belief, right?

Belief in ourselves, belief in others, right?

Belief in achieving what many may deem impossible.

Travis Hunter,

he embodies belief, right?

He's a rare person,

he's a rare player, but he's also a reminder that the boundaries of the game of football were built to be challenged.

Oh, yeah.

And so the decision to select him

was actually a statement, a statement for how we plan to move, who we are,

and we want him to be nothing more than him.

Because when he is, he elevates the space around him.

From the football field to the city to the game of football itself, Travis Hunter is who we've been hunting up.

Couldn't be more jacked to be sitting right here beside him and introduce you all to the man of the hour.

That

is how Travis Hunter was introduced to the NFL media and to the entire Jacksonville Jaguars fan base from their brand new GM who looks 12 but has a great football mind.

He's what everybody has told us in Gladstone, old stoner.

Then let's go to training camp where Travis Hunter was chit-chatting with Pete Prisco of

CBS.

Bingo, guy's been around a long time.

We appreciate his commitment to football.

This was his question for Travis as we all said to ourselves, there's no way this guy's going to be able to do something that's never been done before, right?

Here's Pete Prisco.

How many plays do you think you could play?

You think you could play them all?

Yeah, I definitely think I could play them all.

If I didn't think I could play them all, I wouldn't be trying to do it.

But what makes you able to do that?

Nobody's ever done that.

What makes you capable of doing that?

Just my mental.

You got to have the right mindset going into it.

You got to have the right knowledge.

You got to understand what you're doing when you're going out there.

You got to understand how to take care of your body, too.

So when he says those things, Debutch, obviously, he is going to be a guy who thinks he can do it all because he's already done it all at a very high level.

He is a guy who was drafted number two overall to do it all.

He is a guy who is special.

He's the highest rated Madden player in the history of rookies in the NFL at 84.

Just one point below the highest rated punter in the game.

And AJ Cole is a three-time Pro Bowler at 85.

Don't love that.

But with Travis Hunter, what are your thoughts early out of camp from what we've seen?

And how do you think this works out?

What does success look like?

I mean, I played both ways my senior year in college.

We had like a 15-play script for certain games.

And I thought, just like him, I could play full-time on both sides.

Then you realized, nah, probably not.

You can't be effective on both sides full-time.

And people have said, it's impossible.

The boundaries will be pushed.

I'm excited to see him attempt it.

The mindset, though, when you get to the NFL, we heard Eric Allen talk about it.

His offseasons, he was running routes.

He was learning the offense.

Like, those are the details and the levels that these pros go to.

So for him to be able to compete and excel on this level on both sides of the ball would be extremely difficult.

But we saw, he's a unicorn.

We saw him do things we've never seen him do on a big-time college level.

So can he do it on the pro level?

We shall see.

I'm excited to watch.

He has the skill set.

But up here, it's going to be between the ears.

Can he figure it out?

Can he game plan?

Can he take care of his body?

Can he draw all those things for an 18-game regular season?

Or 18-week regular season season.

Yeah, 17 games, 18 weeks, nonetheless.

And you start stacking years.

Now you got preseason, off.

season, playoff games.

Hopefully they're thinking down there in Jacksonville.

Remember, they were in the playoffs.

That's right.

Just a couple years ago.

brand new head coach brand new GM feels like a new energy they got stadium to deal with over the next couple years I don't think anybody's expecting them to win a Super Bowl this year but if you were to say what does a successful career look like for Travis Hunter obviously if he comes premier at one of those positions that's a successful career no matter what even if it's a number two overall pick number one overall pick whatever it is but if he's able to play both ways for an extended period of time in the NFL I think everybody would be mind-blown by what does success look like AJ how long do you think man success for him obviously, if he's a premier player

as a corner or a receiver, but I think if he doesn't have to play every single play, they can talk about, oh, can you play every player?

Yeah, I could.

Like, technically, I could.

I think you can find packages here and there for him.

I don't know what, like, what is he, does he identify more as a receiver or is a DB?

Do we know?

Well, I don't, like, that's like Shohei, who said he was a hitter, who became a pitcher or whatever in his entirety.

That's two different things that everybody said, you can't do, you can't do, you can't do.

He is trying to defy the odds there.

We said he was also a unicorn.

Baseball people said he was a unicorn.

And then in his fourth or or fifth sort, whatever it was, he had a bad outing.

Now everybody's calling for him.

Stop wasting your time.

You need to go hit.

Well, that happened with Travis.

Yes.

If he gets bombed on and he has like two touchdowns on the other side, people are going to be like, why are we wasting any time on the defensive side?

And on the flip side, if he is a Glove, if it is Revis Island on defensive side and he's, you know, the Jacksville Jaguars on the offensive side, he's scoring like maybe has eight touchdowns on a year, nine touchdowns on the year, which would be very good.

Yes.

It's like, do we want to sacrifice Glove on defense for the other?

Those conversations are going to last for his entire career, just like it has with Shohei.

Yeah, for sure.

And I think with him, like, the expectation shouldn't be like, oh, because he can play both ways, like, this guy should be a top five receiver and a top five cornerback.

Like, you look at Shohei, he's either the best hitter or the second best hitter, depending on how you feel about it in the MLB.

And he's probably like a top 25 pitcher, but he's good enough to go out there and compete on the mound as well.

Obviously, he just got hurt, which kind of you know throws things into array a little bit.

But for Travis Hunter, if he is a top 10 guy at either receiver or cornerback, and he's a top half guy at the other, is that good enough to dictate, like, hey, this guy needs to continue to play both ways?

Or do you just say I genuinely don't know how to handle it?

Especially after that,

even the most too, for the team needs it.

Do they need a corner more?

Do they need a corner?

What do you need?

Like, there's more drums.

Like, we are a supporter.

We would like him to play both sides.

And we talked about this earlier in the basement of the Hall of Fame.

Sure.

Yeah, we're sitting in the Hall of Fame.

It's a banger.

We're in there in the basement listening to that.

I will have you know.

Also listening to

MGK who will be joining us here

with some breaking news actually about one of his songs.

I believe about to call it.

But we were chit-chatting there.

How long does he have to play both sides to be a Hall of Famer?

Just like considered a Hall of Famer because we're in here.

It's like if he was able to play what?

A contract, two contracts?

Yep.

That's what?

Six, seven, eight years?

If he was able to play eight years on both sides, guaranteed Hall of Fame.

I mean, not even a question.

If he was to play both sides five years and then transition or four years and transition into one of them, I think still Hall of Fame resume type stuff.

Anything he does is going to be unique.

It's going to be mold breaker.

But But how long is this hipover to last?

What can the human body do, even if it's one of the most physically fit bodies that we've ever seen in Travis Hunter?

Yeah, that's right.

I don't think the full offense and defense is going to be, you know, for an extended period of time.

Like, I know it's Sweden training camp.

And, you know, when he's doing offensive drills in the morning during special teams, he's doing defensive drills.

He's getting the most reps out of anyone basically.

I think we just go back to what we said originally.

Like, I think the idea of him having a package on one side of the field is still more likely than him playing every single time.

Which side is he major now?

He's going to play full-time in one position.

We just got this smack at our hips.

I didn't know they were right notes on it.

Somebody in the crowd, Michigan sucks here on one side.

Now,

what is Michigan's record against Ohio State over the last couple years?

Pretty good.

Undefeated against Ohio State.

This guy said also needs some beer money.

If you'd like to hit me up, that'd be great.

Smart.

Classic Ohio here.

One side, we got Michigan sucks.

The other says, hey, don't be scared.

Send me a little beer money.

Love that.

Love what you're doing, buddy.

Good luck.

I hope you get a beer too.

Five bucks if you want to send.

Yeah.

Five bucks.

Everything more than five bucks.

All you can eat.

The Travis Hunter story is going to be one that is going to be talked about forever.

If it doesn't work out, okay, at either position, not saying it's going to.

Don't want that.

I was kidding.

I was kicker punter coming out.

Yeah.

Thought that I was going to be able to play both.

Said I think I could, was in the senior bowl as a kicker, was drafted as a punter.

Thought I could maybe at one point figure out how to do both.

There was one guy that tried it in the past.

He was in Atlanta.

They had him kick field goals, they had him punt, and he missed like six straight field goals or something after like a great four-week start or five-week start.

Then he missed a bunch and they were like, we're never doing this again because your leg cannot take it.

You need to be a master at one thing.

So if he does this, obviously historic for all positions, all sports, everything like that.

But there's a chance that neither, what if, what if one's eating away from the other and they both kind of attack each other?

So many different options on how this story can go.

We believe in Travis Hunter, the person,

but the NFL is tough, dude.

And it's been guys who had the ability to play both ways.

Charles Woodson, Akeem Talib, one of your college teammates, Chris Gamble, a guy I looked up to.

These guys had skill set to be a full-time wide receiver or DB.

But you get to either college, which happens to most guys, you go to a big-time D1 school, but definitely to the NFL.

Deion Sanders, he's the guy that I can remember most touching the ball on both sides.

But Champ Bailey, another one, but like, it'll be incredible if he does it.

He has already pushed Brownies and broke boundaries.

So I'm not going to doubt him.

I mean,

I know he's going to be successful because the Cleveland Browns passed on him.

And if the Cleveland Browns passed on him, you would trade away that pick.

This guy is going to be an automatic Hall of Famer.

Great point.

I think Cleveland's like 45, 50 minutes from here.

There's a lot of scumbag Ohio inside.

Not him.

There's a Cowboys fan.

La Trobe was so much better in this place.

The Hall of Fame should have been in Latrobe.

They made a huge mistake later.

Tony, the thing about that is they can't hear you because the Ohio weather is beating the shit out of these speakers because of how tough this Portan is.

Which is why it's a pro football Hall of Fame.

Travis Hunter's story, though, special.

We all need to treat it that way.

And I know there are some people that are probably sick of hearing about it or whatever because there was a lot of attention to that Colorado team.

What he's doing is a very big deal in the history of sport, and we need to talk about it.

Do you think at all about those guys Debut just mentioned?

The places they went to school were all top five in the country and he went to Colorado and they're playing Colorado State.

Like, does that actually come into a thought?

Correct a program, right?

Colorado State's a great program, yep.

We know for sure Trey McBride, love that guy.

Bradley Vampelt.

But truly, like,

Gamble,

Woodson, they're playing against the top talent in the country every week.

And then you're thinking about Travis Hunter, and they go to Nebraska, Nebraska, who wins seven games, and they lose 30 to nothing.

So it's just one of those.

That's true.

It's great.

Absolutely.

And if you look at Travis as a player, like he was like a five-star coming out of high school, he couldn't go to any program.

And then he follows Coach Bryan, go to Jackson State, then go to Colorado, but got drafted him to two for a reason.

Like, if you look at his skill set, him running, him breaking, his awareness, his ball skills, all of those are on an elite, like tier one level.

I would say all-time as far as a prospect goes.

So I don't have any, you're saying like, like, do you have, do you like the level of the business?

Well, my thing is level of comp?

Yeah, well, my thing is like, Deion let him play both ways, but all those other top schools that he was getting recruited by as the top recruit, they were only going to let him play one way.

Like it wasn't like, hey, you can.

The reason he wanted to go play for Dion is because Dion was the only one that was like, yeah, you can play both ways.

Well, Dion also put a plan together for him, understood.

I think Deion, there's only a couple people that can have those conversations, too.

He can.

And those two are the same.

Coach Braun's one of them.

And once again, we can't say this enough.

Coach Braun, hell yeah, dude.

Hell yeah, Coach Brown.

Hell yeah, Coach Bron.

Another a unicorn.

All the framer, obviously, this is home.

And yeah, you're talking about a unicorn.

And he can play every snap.

For everything that is said about Coach Brian, I would like it to be known that the way he coaches, he's a hard ass.

He's attention to detail, committed.

And then also, like, a lot of people say he's flashy and yada, yada, yada.

The dude just went through cancer, and nobody had a clue about it.

You're not telling his kids.

You're talking about a dog through and through.

And Coach Brian, we love you, man.

We're happy you're good.

We are very happy that you're good.

He loves his players, too.

I mean, that kid who just had to, you know, medically retire and he honored his scholarship and he'll keep him through.

Like, so people can say what they want, but the players on his team obviously love him and would run through a wall for him.

And it's a perfect place for Travis Hunter.

Yes, yeah.

And if the Travis Hunter story goes how we all hope and think it's going to go, that is a huge decision that he made coming out of high school.

Now, speaking of decisions coming out of high school, ladies and gentlemen, it is our honor to be a part of yet another commitment for a high schooler that is six foot three, 260 pounds.

Wow.

Head on his shoulders, pure.

These younger guys who have been dealing with this business stuff and a little bit more attention feels like they are much more mature than we would have been back in the day.

We're standing at the Hall of Fame here, obviously.

There's a chance that this guy is in here someday.

A lot of work to do, including a great college career.

Where will it be?

We shall find out.

Ladies and gentlemen, from St.

Paul's Episcopal in Alabama, a man who's a five-star edge rusher and an absolute beast with a great nickname.

Please make some noise for Anthony Tank Jones.

Big Tank, how you doing?

Okay, I like that.

We got a microphone.

Where are we right now?

Let's zoom in.

Let's do his shot full there.

Okay, who all do you have with you right now, Tank, just so we can get the names with faces here?

This is my dad, Anthony Jones Sr.

What up, man?

My little brother, Tristan Jones.

What up, dude?

Good to see you, buddy.

This is my mama, Sonita White.

Hey, mama, good to see you.

Where are you right now, Tank?

Sir?

Where are you right now, Tank?

I'm in my school theater.

Okay, so you're in the theater.

Is there people there, or are you guys just taking up the stage with nobody in the crowd?

I got people here.

Okay.

That would have been a big-time move if you would have done that, Tank.

Tank, to please tell everybody in there that we're appreciative of the time today and we're honored for this opportunity for one of their finest in the history to tell us where he's headed.

Tank, I assume this whole recruiting process has been pretty awesome, but also maybe a little bit heavy.

How has it gone for you and your family and how much work has it gone into making this decision today?

It's been a long journey, I can say.

I feel like

I've been blowing up.

I've just been taking it day by day, staying humble and just keeping my head grinding and stuff like that.

And

I've just been thankful for it.

Okay, well, it is our honor to be a part of this.

We have your final three that has been basically all over the internet.

Ohio State is not a part of the final three.

We're live in a parking lot right now in Ohio, Tank.

Had to say that.

Alabama, Oregon, Texas AM obviously has scholarship offers from everybody, including West Virginia, which don't love this, Tank.

But nonetheless, Tank Jones, will you please let the world know where you will be continuing your football career?

Well, first off, I'd like to thank the Lord.

Without him, none of this would be happening.

And I would like to thank my family, all the sacrifice they've made, the long nights, standing up, long flights, all that.

And I'd like to thank the community also and my coaches and the school.

Just the dedication they showed to me and the love they showing back to me.

I've just been very grateful for it.

And

for the next three to four years,

I'll be continuing my

academic and athletic career at

the University of Oregon.

Congratulations to you.

Congratulations to Oregon.

I know your school there is in the state of Alabama.

How hard of a decision was it to go to Oregon and why did you end up choosing Coach Dan Lanning in the Oregon Ducks?

Just the relationships I have with them, just the way I know they can develop me, the history of

Coach Lanning and Coach Blue Boy, like the ages they can coach.

And I just know they can get me to the next level.

All right, well, congratulations to you, your family, your entire school there.

Thank you for letting us be a part of this.

And SCOO, DOS.

Sko, Dogs.

Scoo, Daws, ladies.

Hey, congratulations, man.

Hopefully someday you're here from us and all of you.

Congrats, ladies and gentlemen, Anthony Tank Jones.

I thought doing that at the Hall of Fame could be cool.

Yeah, for sure.

Completely forgot about Ohio State.

Sure.

And And then

we didn't know exactly where he was going to go.

We had three different graphics for committing two or whatever.

The fact he's going to Oregon is obviously a great thing for these people here because Ohio State, Oregon about to become a great rivalry for years and years.

Oregon's far, but it is beautiful.

Yep.

Beautiful campus, beautiful views, and obviously with Uncle Phil.

The facility.

The amount of money that they're pouring into ball and sports is all they already have a nice facility.

They're building a new facility just because we need a newer facility, even though they have one of the newest facilities in the country.

It's like Oregon's going to be a player.

Just like Ohio State's always going to be a player.

Just like Texas is always going to be a player.

Just like Penn State is always going to be a player.

And just like Michigan is always going to ben't and very good from all reports.

but him going to Oregon, what does this mean to you?

What do you think this is saying to Alabama, right?

Because he's in Alabama.

Huge.

And they were won his final three.

And what do you think this means for Oregon as a whole going forward?

I mean, I'm sure

Bama fans are pretty pissed off right now.

A long way, but you know, Dan Landa, he's building a great program out there.

But I just love these kids making these commitments on the show.

And the odds that we're playing now, we've had, what, five or six of these guys now, four or five stars?

We're playing some good odds.

We may not be doing this anymore, but they may definitely be in this hall, at least one or two of them.

But I love them getting on here with their family, all the people that made those sacrifices saying for the next three to four years, committing to where they're going to.

That was awesome.

What was the percentage that we heard about five-stars?

So, yeah, I heard this on a show the other day.

It used to be 60% of five-stars got drafted in the NFL or made it in the NFL in some way.

Over the last few years, it has jumped up to 65%.

So, I don't know if the rankings are getting better or whatever, but or if more NFL teams are just taking more chances on talent.

But about 65% of these five-stars are now going to the NFL.

Tank John's great nickname, Con man.

Fantastic.

63260.

He's on the internet at 63245.

FaceTime with him this morning.

I'm like,

6'3, 245?

Geez, what a monster.

And he's like, nah, actually, I'm like 260 right now.

Because remember, these guys are all still growing.

That's the thing.

Like, I get that.

And I don't know how it was when you guys were growing up.

Like, is this how it was for everybody?

Because the Atkins kid we talked to, he's massive.

There's a few other players that we, I mean, the tackle, that guy was 6'7, 350, and he is in high school.

I don't, when I played, which was kind of recently, I don't remember it being like that.

Like, Clowney, for instance, he was the one guy.

Derrick Henry.

Derrick Henry, the one guy.

But now it feels like there's 25 of them on every 100 list.

It's absurd.

AJ, Ohio High School Football.

Oh, yeah.

Camp the Kingley plays right here.

Legends came through here.

Yeah, is Ohio high school football still very much right?

It's very, very much legit, yeah.

Why?

Why do you ask it in that sarcastic, condescending way?

Don't you guys

have that game every year?

They used to have the Big 33 game.

I don't think they do it anymore.

Well, I lost so many in a row that they stopped doing.

I have no idea.

Did they?

Actually, we have no idea what the record is

in that particular Big 33 matchup.

I was not able to play it in it.

I was at school already, you know, just getting ready to be a mountaineer.

And also, wasn't invited.

Whenever you, whatever,

I don't even want to get into it.

63260.

And he's going to Oregon.

And they seem to be good kids, too.

That's what they're doing.

All of them.

But they were beyond their years, as you say.

Okay, let's talk about some NFL news that is happening.

I guess Ben Johnson's a hard ass.

Hell yeah.

That is what they're saying.

Ben Johnson?

That's what I've heard, yeah.

And I can respect and appreciate that, especially if he starts out that way.

There's been basically daily reports that Ben Johnson has been holding them accountable.

You miss a read or something, get off the fucking field.

You jump off sides, get off the field.

You don't know the route you're supposed to run, get off the field.

And I guess it's being reported as like, this guy is a terrorist.

This guy is the meanest man of all time.

Ben Johnson's trying to change the culture in Chicago quickly.

That is very evident from what I've been hearing.

How do you think it goes, Debut?

Because obviously, if it goes well, it's good.

But we've seen the Matt Patricia situation.

We've seen the Man Genie situation in Cleveland here.

Where I heard guys McDaniels out in Denver.

This can go the wrong way.

But also, it can go the right way.

And I think I like that Ben Johnson is leading with this as opposed to evolving.

I think you probably feel the same thing.

Yeah, you said something very big there.

He's coming in starting off as a hard ass.

We've all had experience with coaches.

It's one way to start off that way, and then you can get a little lighter as time goes, as you build that trust.

But if you come in as a light-hearted player's coach, and you try to become a hard-ass dunier

tenor, that never works.

but he chose he chose this place he could have won anywhere in the league for the last two or three years and he chose to go to Chicago he chose to go and coach Caleb Williams so he saw something there he got I think they had a big a good draft I think they had a great offseason building up their offensive line and now it's going to be about developing a quarterback that's going to be his biggest job and when you are the head coach and you're the play caller you don't have to worry about leaving every year you know he's going to build that continuity so I'm high on Ben Johnson Caleb Williams I think they'll figure it out next couple years Chicago Bears might be the new kings of the Anderson They're not.

We can do that.

We can do that.

Hey,

we got a couple of wins here.

We can still do that.

No, they are.

Let's do it.

Ben Johnson's coming in there with a little accountability, just like every other team.

Ben Johnson's coming in there with a quarterback who's picked number one overall with generational talent.

AJ, as a Green Bay Packers legend, you scared to death that all of a sudden the Chicago Bears are about to show up in the NFC North conversation?

No, I'm not scared at all, but I think it's good.

Scared to death.

It's good for the NFL.

Let's go for the NFC North if the Bears are good.

I like to see a good rivalry game.

The Bears-Packers matchup is unbelievable.

The history goes back forever.

But have you ever seen a coach say this before at practice?

Like declare that, hey, this is going to be our longest, our toughest practice.

Let's see, let's separate the men from the boys.

They're surviving.

We want to win if he wants to be king of the mountains.

So that means first play at practice, you just got to annihilate somebody and start a full brawl with the whole team, right?

Yeah,

he didn't say he likes fighting.

Yeah.

Is that what he said?

These guys are saying they don't give a shit back here.

About what?

This whole cockpit.

This guy's wearing a Dolphins hat.

Yeah, I mean.

He is wearing Dolphins hat.

He would like to talk talk about Dolphins being all the way back.

I think Dolphins fans are believers.

They might not be as shite as we thought they were.

Any of these teams could be good, including the Bears, Tom.

No, yeah, and

I also appreciate that he's doing this now because it kind of just shines a light on.

Apparently, Matt Eberflus was just letting these guys do whatever the hell they wanted at all times.

I mean, we saw how many gaps they had on both sides of the ball.

So, like, I understand it, but again, we do this with the Bears every single year.

And Bears fans will say, like, hey, you beat the Packers once last year.

They did.

I don't know what you're mouthing at me.

Okay, sounds good.

But it's just, you know, this is why this part of the calendar

is awesome.

Yeah, I know.

Because we get to do, every fan base gets to do this for the next four to five weeks.

It's, hey, we're going to win a Super Bowl.

Everything has changed.

We got a new coach.

We got

this player in the draft.

Like, that's why this part of the season is so awesome.

And then when week one gets here, we'll see how much of this stuff is true.

Another big question mark.

Minnesota.

They got a brand new quarterback.

no they're going the nfc championship

yeah oh yeah he's confused dano loves you said they're the nc champions

last year they were playing in the last week of the season for the number one overall seed in the nfc was sam dark correct now jj mccarthy out of michigan national champion

Could be a guy.

Never lost to Ohio State.

Could be a guy.

Absolutely.

Could be a guy out here in the NFL.

But anytime you got a question mark at the quarterback position, you got everything else happening around it that's great.

It's obviously going to be scrutinized.

But we've learned that KOC can basically make an offense for anybody, and I believe that's going to remain true.

I don't think the Vikings are going anywhere.

I don't think the Lions are going anywhere, even though who

their whole team's different.

Yeah, you know, Jared Goff's there, obviously.

But whenever you talk about coordinators and everything else that's kind of having to change because you have success, it's brand new.

I think they're still going to be around.

I think the Packers are always going to be good.

How are the Packers going to be this year?

Like I said,

it all depends on how Jordan Love does.

I mean, their defense was much better last year.

He's a guy, though, is he not?

I believe he is.

I think he was hurt for a lot of the early portion of the season last year and probably came back a little too early and got hurt again.

But we've seen what he can do in his first full year as a starter.

They win a playoff game.

They beat the hell out of the Cowboys.

And if they had Brandon McManus at the time instead of Durz Carlson, they probably beat the 49ers and maybe played the Lions in the NFC Championship.

So we'll see.

I think, I mean, the Packers are always going to be in the conversation, which is what I appreciate.

Are they going to make a deep run in the playoffs?

I don't know.

I'm hoping so, but I mean, we'll find out week one what they kind of look like.

Hey, Jan, the Green Bay Packers the weak link in the NFC North?

No, they're not, but getting back to what Dan said about the Vikings,

he thinks if they have average quarterback play, they can win the NFC North.

He said if they have average quarterback play, they will be in the NFC North.

That's the same thing.

I don't think any teams win in their division with average quarterback play.

Yeah, are they?

No, it lists Ryan Kelly and lists Will Frys, and then he lists Jonathan Allen and Hargrave.

Yeah, they do have a great team.

I agree, but every great team still needs a quarterback to play.

That's an above

average quarterback play in the NFC championship.

That doesn't contain a game.

To be fair, I wasn't 9 and 8 with average team.

Was Sam Darno average or anything like that?

You're saying Dan Orlovsky's

stupid sliding.

Guys, he's already going to have a tough weekend.

We don't need to follow him.

Remember, this is Jared Allen's Hall of Fame weekend.

The slow motion

of Dan is going to be shown a thousand times.

Not that it isn't every single day, but a thousand times this weekend.

A man so intimidating that other quarterbacks

thought the end zones were 15 yards.

Like, that is going to be shown some time.

And now you're saying it's asinine.

I mean, that statement, that statement is crazy.

And look, I love Dan.

I love the work that he does.

I know he grinds.

He watches the tape.

He does all these things, but we just haven't even seen J.J.

McCarthy on the field.

He's already said it's going to be a step up from Sam Darner coming off a career year.

And then to say average quarterback play, you're going to get to the NFC championship.

We just mentioned these other NFC teams.

Didn't even mention the Cowboys, the Niners.

We obviously know what the Eagles are, the Rams.

We got teams with

quarterbacks.

We got,

we'll see.

Maybe he's right.

He's not the only one.

Kirk Hershey said the same.

Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is the man who put out the asinine tweet.

Yes.

Dana Rolofsky.

Dana, it looks like you're having a great day.

Let me tell you, you're getting your name tarnished out here.

So the tweet you had out about average quarterback play from JJ would lead the Vikings to the NFC championship game has been absolutely cooked.

A lot of the boys up here have said you're going to need a quarterback to play very well to make it to the NFC championship in the NFL.

Would you like to clarify a little bit more here or defend yourself from vacation?

No, I don't need to, I mean, clarify, Ken.

I don't need to defend it that much, but if we had to ask everybody

the top four rosters in the NFC, top to bottom, the best rosters, Minnesota is unequivocally going to be in that conversation.

Eagles have the best roster in the NFL, probably.

And then you're talking Rams, probably in that conversation for the two-spot.

And then the three-spots, probably a debate between

maybe Green Bay, maybe Minnesota, Chicago at some points.

Before the Wii.

So maybe Tampa Bay.

Yeah, that's insane.

You missed a team or two.

Tampa Bay, the Niners?

There's no way you're going to say the Niners.

You haven't done it.

The Lions probably, but the Lions, dude.

The Lions got big losses.

Big, big, big loss.

Roster coordinator.

Roster loss is not even big.

Then coordinator.

Frank Ragnell is an enormous loss.

He's the best center in football on the blade.

Two-star defensive players are coming off injuries, so let's see what they're like.

Minnesota's best player on the field, they said.

Best of players

coming off a big injury.

So

Minnesota's lines of scrimmage.

Daniel, you take a team.

Mythical team.

There's no

hall of fame.

Minnesota's lines of scrimmage are going to be great.

They're going to be great.

Yeah, but a quarterback has to play.

Like, that's why the Jalen Hurts thing, I get it, but, like, had to make plays.

Like, have to.

Yeah, 100%.

I totally agree.

So to get to an NRC championship game, like, you're going to have to make plays.

Like, you're going to have to make plays.

So I don't think an average quarterback would be able to make the plays that are going to have to be able to make.

Okay,

let me ask you this.

And let's be completely honest about the whole situation.

That be your first time.

Jalen last year.

Jalen Hurts last year,

in totality,

was he above average, below average, or average through the through the body of the season above average i want a super bowl body of the season ladies and gentlemen body of the season

i'm sick of it got it big standard

well you also can't say that like average this isn't the 1980s

he said with average play average quarterback play, the Vikings will be in the NFC championship and then listed every other team in the NFC North as potentially second best roster football.

So it's like, what are they just going to run roughshod through the division and then get Orlovsky is yelling?

I guess Orlovsky's yelling from the beach.

Let me talk.

That's how he gets it, though.

That's what he does.

What do you got, Dan?

Dude,

I asked you the body of his season.

His final two games talk about that.

Ladies and gentlemen, we ruined his day.

Hey, Dano, enjoy the beach.

This ain't that big of a deal.

We'll have this conversation, Gad.

You're the best day ever lost.

Love you.

Love you, Dano.

We know what side of the conversation he's on there, there, don't we?

Oh, yeah, we do.

But that's what he does.

Ty just laid it out perfectly.

Okay, because this is how he says, like, I never said that.

Nope, that's not true.

Because he lists the Vikings, but then he does all the other teams in the NFC North.

So then when it comes around, he says, no, I thought they were, I thought the Lions were

good, if not better.

Let's move along.

We have an Ohio legend here, and we also have some breaking news, I do believe, for the college football season.

They have a new song of the season and a video to debut it that is absolutely filthy.

And we're here at the Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame game's happening tonight.

We'll be kicking off football.

And in just a few weeks, Texas will be traveling to Columbus to kick off the greatest college football season we've ever had.

And this

will

scratch you right where your college football fandom itches.

It's the dawn of a new college football season.

College football runs through our our soul.

We're going to war with it,

and we are ready to start this season.

Here we go, turn your steam back up.

Let's go make it happen.

How many of you really know you're alive?

They call me overdue at 135.

Show me the money, and I'll show you the lies.

Everyone's equal to this time to divide.

Let's go!

You want this, you got that.

You want this, you got that.

Don't wait, watch them walk right past you.

Run fast, run fast while you have a chance.

Don't speak, go and look.

He's got it!

Come on!

Come on!

Chance!

Can you believe it?

Antibuzzard!

Are you kidding me?

Yeah, yeah.

A 12-team playoff.

We knew this was going to be fun.

You can feel the energy.

College football got this one right.

Wow!

It is a brand new roster.

A chance to make it a special season.

The energy's back.

This is what makes this sport so amazing.

Ladies and gentlemen, the man who created that song, Ohio Legend, he'll be releasing his seventh studio album in early August.

Ladies and gentlemen, MGK.

Hey, thank you for joining us.

Thanks.

Whoa, wow, this works.

Cool.

Yeah, you definitely work.

You and a microphone's a good thing, so we're going to make sure that absolutely happens.

I've been a fan of yours for a long, long time.

Okay, we were actually going through the WorldStar shit earlier today.

The freestyles from the car, everything like that.

Your song with Jeezy, hold on, shut up.

Who remembers my coma?

Yeah, I was in a gym probably a thousand times with that song.

So watching you continue to kill it and then change genres and continue to crush, cool thing as a day one fan.

I'd like to look at that.

Thank you.

I feel like, you know, what's funny?

Did you ever tweet me back in the day?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Okay, see, I remember like 10 years.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

You didn't have a lot of followers.

Yeah, then you took off to the moon, bro.

So I'm a big fan.

I really respect your grind and hustle.

I also was in my head, I was like, man,

I wanted to do this interview with the mouth guard so bad, and I asked him to give me a mouth guard.

And And I'm like, since when did mouth guards look like the things that my babies have?

Yeah, a little binky situation.

They look like a binky.

Like when I was

played sports, the one time I ever did, I would just look like a mouth guard.

Wait, I saw your baseball throw.

You looked athletic.

Yeah.

Well, look, looks are deceiving.

No, I saw you dance, too.

A lot of people saw you dance.

I think you look athletic, got good rhythm.

I appreciate the change here.

Now, let's talk about Don't Wait, Run Fast being the song for college football.

How's that come together?

And that video was sick.

I hope you were proud of it.

I appreciate it.

This has been happening a little bit.

It's raining because I can't get it.

It's raining, guys.

It's raining.

Got a break.

Yeah, you understand.

Well,

okay, so

this song is actually, it's ironic because I made this song the day after I played the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl party, but they didn't win.

And so we had to still play the party.

And

I was uh

gonna be fun is that uncomfortable yeah

you know who doesn't you know who you know who who doesn't go to the after parties of the team who lost players players girls

anybody anybody yeah a lot of suits in there though yeah so uh we had to go play and we were in there for like you know I had and of course I was like the headliner of it so like Well, not of course, but I was saying

as luck would have it, it was like I had to go play like an hour set set versus like Quevo, Shibuzi.

They went to go, they got to play like one song and did.

So I was up there for like an hour and I was like, dude,

when you're playing songs that,

now for the past five years, I haven't played in front of a crowd that, you know, wasn't

that good.

That wasn't stoked.

So like that was,

for me, that was

for sure.

And I was, and there was about four girls, and I'm playing a bunch of songs that I realized in that moment.

I was like, man, these songs are kind of like for girls, you know?

Could have really used a song with testosterone right now.

And I got back to the studio the next day and I was like, dude, never again.

Never again.

Like we need something with

that we could have played in that.

Why'd you end up going the way you went?

Because we're watching the freestyles from the car.

Yeah.

Unbelievable.

And I know in the rap world what happened.

Don't have to bring it up, but it did happen.

Everybody says that about you.

I, as a fan of yours, pissed that you left the rap game.

Would Would like to let you know that.

Felt like you were making music for me, right?

Yeah.

Through the entire thing.

When you transition to become more of a musician in the entirety,

why do you end up doing that?

Do you want to showcase musical talent?

Like, why is that the decision you think?

Yeah, I think it's just adding on to, it's never leaving.

Yeah, because there's some rap, there's rapping in everything that you do.

For sure.

I mean, I also think, like, I'm not dying tomorrow, so.

Thank God.

Yeah.

I'll wait.

What happened here?

I'll wait for a while, you know.

But

when I look at the artists that I love, like a Bowie or a Prince or

I don't, even when I think about Bone Thugs, you know, like

they had melody and harmony and all of these things that are untraditional towards what

is supposed to be expected from them, which as rappers,

there's,

I think breaking out of the box is inspiring, and I think...

Hell yeah.

I don't know.

What I was just listening to in the car is a rap album that I'm working on.

Oh, wait.

Okay.

Really?

Yeah.

We got bangers?

Yeah, we got bangers.

I can't wait.

I cannot wait to hear.

We are very excited for that.

I think

there was a, I mean, Lost Americana, which comes out on Friday,

it was originally...

Thank you.

Congratulations.

It was originally a double album.

So, at this point.

You're saying that my assumptions that the rap game was over for MGK were a little bit early and wrong, is what you're saying.

Very wrong.

Yeah, I was bummed out.

I was bummed out.

I'm happy now.

Deebut has has a question for you.

Yeah, where did that passion for music come from?

Did a little research.

You grew up kind of all over the world, speak multiple languages, but where did that passion for music come from at an early age?

Just not having friends, I think.

My friends being here and my headphones.

I would watch TV or watch movies and be like, oh, I want to be that guy.

Like, I remember when I saw Tom Cruise and Top Gunn, I was like,

for sure, I'm about to be an Air Force fighter.

Yeah.

100%.

When I saw Vegeta and Dragon Ball Z, I was like, for sure, I'm going to become a Super Saiyan.

When I saw DMX on top of a bunch of school buses

on Rough Riders Anthem, or We Right Here, it was one of those two songs.

I was like, for sure, I'm going to ride motorcycles and become a rapper.

So,

yeah,

I think they've all worked out, man.

Well, I haven't gone Super Saiyan and I haven't joined the Air Force, but like

you're not dying anytime soon.

AJ, fellow Ohio, fuck, has a question for you.

As far as your career, you've been doing it for so long, it's unbelievable.

But do you have a plan?

Do you sit there and write it out or think this is what I'm going to do?

Or are you more organic?

I know different musicians or artists, they approach it differently.

Some people have everything, like, oh, the next five years, this is when certain albums are coming out.

Or do you just kind of let it hit you and go with whatever you feel passionate about?

No, I have a plan.

It just sucks sticking to it.

Because

it's auto-I mean, I got Pat being like, oh man,

you're not rapping.

And like I said, I'm like,

in my head, I'm just like, oh, dude, I have so much.

Wow, boy.

Come on, man.

Yeah.

I need you.

I'm getting lazy.

I hear you.

I need you.

I hear you.

I got you.

It's there.

It's present.

It's coming.

Thank you.

And I'm going to run fast.

Run fast.

I'm going to do that.

I am.

I'm behind you.

I'm behind you.

But the plan thing.

But look,

when you look back on

this career, it's like a roller coaster where you don't know where

the drop-offs are.

It's more fun that way.

If you know what to expect, and when, you know, it's just a little.

I haven't seen any drop-off.

I feel like I followed you from the beginning.

No, no, no no I'm saying I'm saying

if I if I make this type of album it's it's like a drop you're like oh I wasn't expecting that

and then you know you go up this way or you do an unexpected turn I just like I like being

unpredictable elusive yeah how's the creative process has it you writing songs all the time do you have time that you allot like hey I'm gonna go into the woods and yeah this album I did after a four-day water fast and that's why I was just like okay I I believe in it.

Like, this came from a pure place.

I did it with my best friends, all the ones that were like making all those songs with me that you talked about.

Like, you know, we made this in the living room.

Our studio burnt down in those LA fires.

Man.

And so we just set the mic up in my house in the living room and

made this joint.

I can't wait.

I assume it's going to be phenomenal.

We can't wait to listen.

I think we just saw the other day, you said you drink coffee, drink water, and smoke cigarettes.

That's about it, dude.

Living the dreams.

Yeah, super handsome.

Great shape, too.

Always observe that you look like the mannequin, you know, can wear whatever.

You are like supermodel stuff now, dude.

Thanks, man.

What a run you had.

I can't do the water, coffee, cigarette thing.

I wish I could, I had fat.

I'm a fat ass.

Which is why

I'm a wild.

I need to be in the gym.

Yeah, okay.

See that?

It's for my career, too.

You don't think about it.

I got you.

No, no, I got you.

I'll have to start being less selfish.

Thank you.

Jesus.

Ty has a question for you.

Do you have any, I don't want to say aspirations because you've done acting stuff before, like, you were awesome as Tommy Lee and Dirt.

And then I remember, I mean, the Netflix movie with Joseph Gordon Levitt, it was kind of like a bit hour, but yeah, you were right at the start of it.

Like, do you cut out any time to pursue any of that kind of stuff?

Or is that kind of just like if someone comes to you with an idea that you're kind of into, you kind of dive into it?

Yeah, I just get nosed so many times.

I just

pursue it as much as I can, but I get.

I don't believe that.

So you're saying, hey, hi, I'm MGK.

Would love any role in your movie that you have.

And they're like, you know what, MGK?

Why don't you get the fuck out of here?

Yeah.

Nobody's doing that.

It's about that.

No way.

Yeah.

You would want to do more activities.

You can cuss on here?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Wow.

That's fucking awesome.

Yeah, see?

Yeah, go ahead and do your thing.

Breaking the bolt, you know, we take inspiration from you, brother.

Thank you.

Well, shit.

Yeah, all good.

Yeah, I have a lot of aspirations to be in movies.

It just doesn't, you know, hasn't panned out that way.

I'm on universal timing, though, so we'll see.

Universal timing?

Yeah, like

it'll align.

The angels will put something in the works whenever they feel like it.

We see signs and everything?

Yeah.

Yeah?

Yeah.

I mean, there's been plenty of movies that come out that I'm like, ah, I was supposed to be in that.

Ah, I was supposed to be in that.

Or, oh, I did auditions for that.

Like Sinners, I was supposed to be in that.

Oh, shit.

Which one guy?

No, The Vampire.

They had me set up to do the auditions.

It's the vampire, the one that's in the house, so he's the second vampire, the one that the guy comes and like he eats the family up.

Yeah, but he said in the audition, he says he has to say the N-word, and I just wouldn't do it.

Yes, I think there is, from our conversations.

Push up.

Yeah, that was very, it was a good day.

Appreciate it.

Pretty well, Gary.

Yeah, exactly.

Yeah, I appreciate that.

That Django and Chain thing was pretty wild to watch.

It was much ever.

Connor has a question for you.

MGK.

So when it comes to acting, then do you have any sort of timeline?

Like, you don't really care.

You're not really, you know,

you're saying they're telling you no, but you were also in shows, like, their series on Netflix, things of that nature.

And you also said, you know, when the universe aligns, but like, do you ever have some sort of schedule, some sort of like, hey, this is the thing I want to do next.

This is exactly

what my plan is, or is it just kind of seat of the pants?

Which camera can I look at?

This one?

Yeah.

Hey, dude.

I'd like to be in cinema while I still look young.

Okay.

All right, that was the message to Hollywood.

I would really like to be recruited into a movie

while I still got some looks.

Hell yeah, let's make that.

We're part of an Oscar run here.

We're part of an Oscar run here all of a sudden.

I just feel like my luck is going to be like as soon as all my hair just leaves or goes gray or whatever.

Yeah, but you could be a great white trash looking.

I feel like that will be like the run.

That will be the run.

This guy was born for this one.

Can we talk about the tattoos?

Yeah.

Because I got my first tattoo.

Cool.

See that?

Yeah.

They've been asking for me to take my shirt off this entire day.

Now's not the time.

I am a sex symbol, much like

a healthy, good-looking dude.

That's really cool of you.

I'm going to put that on my Twitter bio.

Yeah.

I'm going to put that on my bio.

I got this tattoo here, and I think I checked the box.

I was awake.

It's on a tough spot.

That hurts, right?

That's what everybody says.

My wife's tatted, so she gives me a little bit of respect because I did this.

Then I'm going to have them give me the drugs, and I'm going to wake up with a full Samoan oozle.

You can't do it.

Yep, you tattooed people say that, I understand, but I did it.

I did it here.

When did we decide just to do the entire matte black on the upper eighth of our body?

That is so much time in pain, I would assume.

And how do you feel now about it all?

You know, for the first couple months, I was like, wow, you look like a Cretan.

Yeah, you know, and I was

for the first couple months I had to have some friends that just could

do the right thing because I would look good dude.

Looks good.

Yeah.

Yeah, I needed a couple of those because I was like, I would, you know, you brush your teeth and you look up and you'd be like, oh, Jesus.

Like,

dude, like, okay, so if you were looking at me,

what would you think?

You know, I needed a couple

of things.

What are you going to do?

Go get it lasered?

What are you going to go get it lasered off?

Like, I think, is that what the realization was?

Hey, this is for definitely forever.

We have to do it.

If you're going to get this lasered off, you might as well just die.

There it is, right there.

You can't see the camera, but it's right here.

Yeah, if you're going to get that, and it's got worse since then.

Not worse, but it's gotten more intense since then.

I think it's hilarious.

And as soon as I saw it, I was like, well, he has the right body for it because you're jacked.

You know, you're absolutely jacked.

But basically, slim.

To me,

take your clothes off, dude.

To me, I just liked redesigning the human skin.

Go on?

I liked redesigning the human skin.

I thought it was cool.

That's it.

You're a human skin.

Yeah.

Yeah, you're a human skin.

Everything to me, sometimes I get bored and I think everything is an art project.

So I think I was just kind of looking at my body and I was like, this sucks.

Are you on your phone much?

Nah.

You read books?

Yeah.

TV?

Yeah, I like TV.

Serieses?

Yeah, I get envious because I've never booked in any of them, but yeah.

But you're away from your phone a lot?

Yeah.

When did that start?

I don't know.

I guess, I don't know.

Like,

when I stopped looking at porn.

That's fair.

You stopped looking at porn?

Yeah.

Congratulations, man.

I think that's a big deal for people.

There's a lot of, like,

that's a huge addict.

A lot of ads come out.

A lot of actually former players we've seen

how hard it was.

Yeah.

Stopped jerking their

jerking.

So the phone was basically just a bopping device for you, and you said, you know what?

Now that's bopping.

You know what it is.

You know bopping your meat.

Okay.

Gotcha.

Gotcha.

You know what it is.

Unless you're just watching just for cinematic purposes.

No, no, no.

Oh man, dude, that's changed that scene.

Okay, let's talk about the don't wait, run fast.

Is that going to be in your next studio album?

And are you performing this throughout the college football season?

And how much of a college football guy are you?

You're from Ohio.

I would assume the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Yeah.

You followed me.

Everybody love the Buckeyes, dude everybody from oh does legitimately yeah cool colors cool logo yeah cool everything that it's just cool and reigning national champions yeah yeah and they spend a lot of money and they're invested and it's good are you gonna be doing a lot throughout the college football season we'd love to see you we'd love to see you i'd love to be a part of it i don't really associate me much with sports you know but i would i would love to wearing a baseball jersey so look at you right now you got baseball cap on wwe

yeah wwe

yeah come on we got you look at this this.

What the hell are you talking about?

You have basketball.

You got showtops on, right?

Got showtops on right now.

You played basketball in those if you had to.

Yeah, totally.

Yeah, absolutely.

You're a big sports guy.

Yeah.

What sport did you play?

Sorry, you said you played sport for like a minute.

Yeah.

What was it?

I was a tight end.

Really?

Yeah.

Nice.

We had Tony Ogs up here.

You could have been him.

Yeah, I scored one football.

I mean, one more.

I scored one football.

That's crazy.

That's crazy.

Don't do that shit.

Hold up.

Hold up, dude.

Hold up, one.

Hold up, dude.

Yeah, let's not put a microphone in front of him in any of these sports events.

Jesus.

I've scored one touchdown.

Oh, my God.

I scored one football this time.

You hit a grand slam in that football game.

Dude, I'm on a

50-hour migraine.

So how's that happening?

Is that because you're water fasting and don't eat food, do you think?

I actually do think that it's catching up to me because I was in London and I came back for this really quick.

For this?

Yeah.

So sorry.

What else are you doing?

Thank you, but what else are you doing?

Nothing.

I just came here.

For this.

The Hall of Fame.

For y'all.

This is so dumb.

And you're going back to the bottom.

We should have been giving a heads up that you're flying from London for this.

Why?

This is a bad decision.

You remember when you looked in the mirror and said you saw the thing?

Yeah.

And said, boys, need a little motivation about not the biggest things.

You should get one of those from the boys today as well.

I'm happy I came.

Except for the fact that I just said I scored one football, which is crazy.

I'm not going to get torched.

Well, dump it.

Nobody will ever know.

Nobody will even know.

Who's your NFL team?

Are you a Cleveland Browns fan?

Oh, for sure.

How do you think the Browns are going to do this year?

You know,

it's just one of those things that you just...

We love.

I love them for what's inside.

That's right.

The tri-war.

The New Jersey.

You got the coolest.

This New Jersey jersey is fire.

You know what I mean?

The New Jersey's fire.

The new helmet's cool.

New helmet's cool.

Got some new quarterbacks.

Maybe that.

We just needed some cool.

Amazing Graham in the middle.

Yeah.

Cool mascot.

It's cool.

We're doing a collab with them, too, as well.

So that would be cool.

Merch.

Yeah.

Are you going to go break?

You've broken the guitar?

A couple times.

I don't think I've broken the guitar, actually.

I played guitar.

I brought them out like playing guitar.

You always been a good guitar player?

No.

I still am not.

I think you are.

Yeah, I think I am.

I think I am enough for what...

I like that I play whatever I feel.

But like by technicality, I'm like, nah, come on.

Yeah, you're comparing yourself to like Bonamasso and like people at the top of it.

I think whenever you're playing, it's great.

And you always got a sweet guitar.

Yeah.

Always has some pizza yeah i'm here for the looks dude that's why we brought you from london all right we'll continue digitally this has been us from the hall of fame goodbye

all right we're still live we're still live okay

we're just not on tv

so now we are currently on digital espm plus disney plus tick tock live youtube

uh tick tock probably really good for you i assume right i think so i don't

what do you mean you think so you're doing all this shit hey yeah You're doing the shit.

A lot of conversation about that shit.

That pissed you off?

No, no, no.

I thought it was good.

No,

I think it's cool.

But I just, I'm still like, I feel like I'm in an archaic form of,

I guess I just, I don't really do stuff for

any

opinions anymore.

So I just am kind of just doing stuff that I like.

Well, the TikTok dance took over everything.

Oh, yeah.

And then obviously you had people that were pissed off about it saying

so mad.

They were so mad you were dancing on a song called Cliche.

Yeah, that was a beautiful thing.

That was fun to watch from outside looking in.

Yeah, it was because obviously you got to understand that I'm like inside my house dying laughing over it.

Of course.

I'm like, dude, you guys are dumb.

Made that video with your buddy about it.

Yeah, it was awesome.

Yeah, vampire diaries.

That's a good one.

We listened to every lyric of that today, trying to listen to your story you're telling.

You're a great writer, dude.

Thank you.

Yeah, great.

That song is cool.

It literally is about a vampire who just wants to go outside in the sun.

And it's like Said Well.

And cool, parallel

metaphors like the try to find the silver lining, but it'll kill me if I touch.

It's cool.

And you talk about never being able to walk in the day.

You know, the grass isn't always greener.

There's a lot in there.

I feel like you're very clear.

I really wish I could know whatever they're making those moaning noises over.

I wish I could always think of a beach ball.

Yeah, beach ball getting popped.

Beach ball.

Bopping the beach ball.

Yeah, there's the Venmos.

People writing their Venmos on the beach ball, hitting it on a screen.

Yeah, they were head-hunting us a little bit earlier.

That's That's funny.

It's been a fun time.

You know, we're back in Ohio.

This is the way Ohio is fun.

And also, not only beach balls that we have, we have a mascot too.

MGK, I don't know if you know this, the Hall of Fame has a mascot.

And we had an opportunity to speak to mascots Handler.

Yeah, yeah.

Is that the proper term?

Blackie.

He had a lot of energy.

This guy was jacked up about the mascot.

I believe the mascot's making...

This is the goat.

This is Goldie.

Goat, Gold.

This is Goldie the GOAT.

Goldie the GOAT.

Your thoughts on Goldie, MGK, just early initial thoughts.

You Goldie!

Goldie, Goldie.

Yeah, initial thoughts.

Good fit, not a bad fit.

Hey, how you doing?

Good to see you, Goldie.

Holy shit, you're here.

We're here.

It takes a

better go and talk.

Goldie, do you talk or no?

I hope not.

No, but I shoot.

Oh, no.

Oh, no.

MGK.

Oh, that's pretty good.

I obviously just want to pants Goldie so bad.

The opportunity is right there.

Normally mascot uniforms don't have the actual shorts on top.

Normally.

Nice toss.

Oh.

Oh, no.

Is there safety on this thing?

There you go, right there.

Aim it low, Pat.

Oh, I got a pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin, pump it, pump it.

Keep going, keep going, pump it.

Yeah, we're building this thing.

Yeah, we're building this.

You got t-shirt guns in your show?

No, maybe.

That's the first time we've ever had one, too.

It's great television.

I'm loving your aim.

It looks like it's really gonna hurt somebody, so let's keep going the way you were just doing it.

Lower it.

I will.

Hey, I'm bopping it right now.

That's what I'm saying.

I didn't put it together.

If he would have still had his phone, I would have had him tighten this thing up a little bit.

Oh,

I'm looking for the next wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns really quick.

Hey, hey, found a heck of it.

That was a great show.

Did the kill show?

Turn that thing sideways, did the kill show.

Yeah, I saw you fucking hanging.

Yeah.

Okay, yeah, it's on you.

Go day.

All right, go.

Go day.

Jeez.

Hey, have some muzzle control.

Goldie.

Smuzzle discipline.

I'm a little bit worried about the gun safety here.

All right, we appreciate you, Goldie.

Have a great weekend.

You go on now, GOAT.

Thank you, GOAT.

Go on, get it now.

Oh!

Hey, go on, MGG.

That's a bad way to end on it.

You go on, get it, GOAT.

All right, MGK.

What's next for you, MGK?

We got album on Friday.

Album's Friday.

Thursday midnight.

Is that how that works?

So Friday morning?

It's cool.

It happens right like during MGK Day.

So we do like the mayor mates

all the weekend of August 13th every year is MGK Day.

So we throw free concerts.

Is that ESD Fest?

It's what it, it's kind of like the new version of what that was.

Oh, that's sweet.

I remember watching the early days of that.

Those were fire.

Yeah, they were outrageous.

You're still doing that MGK days.

Yeah.

It's a music festival that happens back.

We kind of just, we just, we do it for free this time, though.

So we just give back and let everybody

come through.

Do you remember these days?

When was the last time you saw this video?

Put this photo up that's in my little screen here.

That's you in that car.

We went through those earlier today.

You took over WorldStar for like

I don't know, it felt like

what's crazy about that.

My boy had just got out of jail and I picked him up on the side of the road.

I saw him walking on the side of the road, and he had just got out of jail, and I was like, oh, hop in here.

That's literally how it all started?

Yeah.

I think that we invented vlogs.

Just gotta put that on the ticker.

You invented vlogs?

Yeah, like me, Soldier Boy,

who did it first?

Maybe Solja.

and then me, and then Wiz.

I think we were the first that pioneered

uploading daily versions of our lives or what was happening in our weeks and stuff like that.

Like I had

my daughter, I had that video.

I was just looking at that the other day where it's like,

what's up, guys?

I'm about to have my daughter.

And then now your daughter.

It's 2008, 2009.

Yeah, not your daughter, you're FaceTiming or that you're on the Spotify hot new playlist or whatever.

And it's like, it's cool to watch you.

You've been very public for a long time.

And you've had like 10 different lives.

For sure.

And we've learned about all of them.

Yeah.

That has to be tough as a human.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I mean, dude, I feel deflated sometimes, but I'm also just like, dude, I'm living in a place of like,

I feel very free because I stopped caring about opinions anymore.

You know what I mean?

You're a success, brother.

From Cleveland, Ohio.

There it is.

Shock Doctor.

If he didn't quit in one day at football, he could have been in here with that.

Remember when I scored one football?

Yep.

Yeah, dude.

What a game, man.

This guy hit for the cycle in his first ever football game.

That's right.

Got a hole in one in the fourth quarter.

So fire.

Unbelievable.

You remember that, right?

Rolled a turkey right before half with my cricket bat.

Bingo.

Slam dunk.

Football legend.

Straight up.

Icon.

Yup.

MGK, we appreciate that.

You know what would be so awesome?

Is if

on the last day of this show, whenever that could be, 20 years from now, I think, he just lifted up his hat and his hair came with it.

There's a chance.

How do you know that wouldn't happen right now?

Well, that's what he's saying, I think.

I think he's saying that right now,

we got a Brent Michaels situation.

Make a wave.

Make a wave.

Make a wave.

This isn't the last day of this.

But boy, oh boy, would that make me so happy to just one day.

There's a chance.

Hey, you're up.

Taub's gone.

Here you go, guys.

You set that headphone down.

You go.

And it's just...

That's the final shot.

And now by watch has ended.

This guy is bald all along.

Yeah, or it has the work, like just a very, very, like just a scraggly comb over it.

One or two

pickles.

Or you have the Coolio.

That'd be sweet.

That would be sweet.

That was a chance.

Those were good digits back in the day.

TRO had a run there.

Coolio was a part of that.

And I was going to ask you about WorldStarHipHop.com being like such a huge part of your career.

Yeah.

But you got to go do sports there.

It's going to be very similar to what you just did here.

Yeah.

Save Dave.

You can say fuck on there too.

Yeah, and shit.

Drop it.

Well, fucking shit, dude.

I'm going to go see what they got popping, man.

Ladies and gentlemen, MGK, we appreciate you.

Thanks for hanging.

How do you know I was bald?

Hey, dude, have some food.

Let's get rid of those migraines.

Cheat meal.

Let's have some Italian.

Little chicken parm.

Wild boy!

Thank you.

Thank you.

All right, he said bangers are on the way.

Oh, yeah.

Appreciate it, Let's.

All right, bro.

Hey, see you like a big man that's protecting him.

You are huge.

Yeah.

Guy with big-ass beard over there.

Appreciate what you do for MGK.

Oh, hell yeah.

Also, everybody, this is Mistanius Parking Lot.

Thank you so much.

Like, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you, guys.

Listen, just like him saying he came here from London, that was a terrible terrible decision.

You guys hanging out with us out here in the middle of this rain, terrible decision, but we appreciate you doing it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much.

And to wrap up,

we should go around table and see

who's going to win tonight's big game.

Tonight will be talked about

for at least 25 minutes.

Tonight's game is going to be an epic battle that we will remember for at least a day and a half.

Tonight we kick off the NFL season in beautiful fashion in Canton, Ohio.

It is Lions versus Chargers.

It is Kyle Allen versus

it is Hendon Hooker making an appearance versus DJU Uyungalule.

There's going to be names that we know from college football fame.

There's going to be helmets that we know from NFL lore.

And we'll officially say we're in football season tonight.

Everybody playing in this game tonight had to report to training camp earlier,

mind you.

They don't necessarily love that they have to play in the Hall of Fame game, but they understand the honor it is to play and kick off what this weekend is about to be here in Canton, Ohio.

A celebration of those who laid the grounds for the world that we live in now.

The greats are honored here, celebrated here, and live here forever.

And that's why the Hall of Fame game is so damn important.

It's not just about what's happening on the field.

It's the aura of the city in which the game is taking place.

This is football through and through.

This is an awesome time and we've been very lucky to be here.

Now, who wins Lions Chargers at Boston Connor this evening on NBC?

I'll take the Lions.

I'll take the over.

Pat, I think it's pretty simple here.

I don't think anybody's really playing.

Three straight overs.

What were you going to say?

Three straight overs.

Okay, three straight overs and Hall of Fame games.

Yes.

Okay, so maybe towards the end of it, there's a little bit of chaos on defensive side.

We got Miss Simons.

We're running a ball, maybe.

Not making tackles.

We're scoring a bunch of points.

Three straight overs.

Some guys playing, too, probably three quarters tonight by the fourth.

They're going to be pretty tired because there's no backups going in after.

Ty Schmidt, do you agree with what Conman said?

I like the Lions.

I like a big game out of Hendon Hooker and maybe igniting a little bit of a quarterback controversy.

Oh, with Jared Goff.

Okay, maybe.

There's a chance, you know.

They chant Jared Goff.

Foxy, did you hear what Ty was just trying to do to Detroit?

I know what Ty's doing, okay?

We actually have a quarterback battle for the backup quarterback, so I would love to see Hennon play great so he can confirm that QB2 spot.

Zeno, what do your notes say on how tonight's going to go?

Have you been keeping track?

Yeah, I've been taking a lot of notes with this other David Baker pencil.

I think Chargers all the way.

Okay, you like Chargers.

I respect that.

Let's go to one half of the hammer.

Cowboys AP tone.

I've been struggling with this one.

I like the Lions quarterbacks better, but I think the Chargers have a lot more bodies.

Lions still dealing with a lot of injuries, and Harbaugh's the better preseason coach.

I'm going to go with the Chargers in this one.

Okay, you've got the Chargers, Lions, Lions, Chargers,

Super Bowl champion, Green Bay Packer legend, Ohio guy.

AJ Hawk, who do you like, how you like it?

I'll take the Lions 28-21 on this one.

Whoa, whoa.

28-21.

What's over-under?

33.5.

33.

33.5.

I like it, AJ.

Didn't even know what the over-under was.

Just took your life.

Way over.

What are you doing with it?

Debuts, your pick for tonight's Hall of Fame game, kicking off the NFL season.

I'm be honest.

I don't care.

I don't care.

We win.

We win.

We win because we get some football.

You don't care one of your teams is that.

No, what I care about is the legends that are going into the Hall of Fame.

I don't care about Sterling Sharp.

Why?

I care about Jared Allen.

Why do I care about Eric Allen?

And then I care about.

You're not going to say it.

You're not going to say the last guy?

You don't know the last guy?

Sir, sir.

You're talking to Antonio Gates.

I'll be honest with you.

I can't hear a fucking thing.

That's what I was telling you.

They were telling me they couldn't hear anything.

I'm like, bro.

Antonio Gates.

Antonio Gates, the legends that are going to be that have been in Shrine Night.

That's what I care about.

Don't care about the outcome of the game.

Like I said, don't listen, Tony.

Don't bet on this game, guys.

Do not bet on this game.

Just watch and enjoy it.

If you want to bet on this game,

there is a number they're called on that fine print in any sportsbook app you use.

But have fun tonight.

We got some NFL football.

I think what D.Bucks is saying is very accurate of how everybody feels watching the Hall of Fame game, even the Lions and the Chargers fans.

With that being said, there is certainly going to be an overwhelming amount of people that watch this game.

Jim Harbaugh told the boys,

no big deal.

Obviously, we're honoring the greats of the past.

Antonio Gates is coming in representing our team, the Chargers.

The Hall of Fame game will outrate the World Series and the NBA Finals.

So,

no pressure.

You're playing for your life.

You're playing for your career.

And also, more people will watch you in this game than any other sport and also maybe any other game you've ever played.

That's That's just because all we care about is football happening.

Yes.

And whenever you talk about honor in the Hall of Famers, it's like the amount of interviews and highlights that are going to roll tonight from football's past, it's going to be a beautiful thing.

But the game does suck.

Certainly.

Maybe.

It's not a game.

It's not really a game.

It's like to build up their

bunch of XFL Don't.

They keep it score.

I agree.

I agree with that, which is why I watch.

There's a guy that has a Michigan Panthers flag.

I saw that.

Right over here.

The only one ever sold.

Rest in peace.

New investors.

He's the

New investors came into the league.

And I immediately thought to myself, that's right.

It is the pro football hall of fame.

It's not the NFL Hall of Fame.

Could you imagine if a Michigan Panther made it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

Jake Bates.

Yeah, they're both Cardell Jones.

Yeah, but he's in the NFL now.

Oh, that's a good point.

Yeah, I'm saying if XFL only career.

That'd be awesome.

Into the Pro Football Hall.

There's a chance it could happen.

That's next.

There's a chance it could happen.

TFL too.

Got it.

Or UFL now.

You pig.

I didn't know who

I don't know which link they said.

Tonight is not just about the football on the field, is what I'm saying.

It's about the whole entire thing.

Yes.

And what it symbolizes is the fact that

football's back, and there's no better place to be than Canton, Ohio, and this corona space.

Easy pop.

Everybody ain't back in the truck.

Great work, boys.

Great work back here.

Great work back there.

Living a nice life back there.

Yeah, I mean, you should feel my fucking shirt.

Wait,

it was sideways over here.

It was incredible.

Thank you both.

To the people that are saying kind things right now, we appreciate you guys hanging out with us.

To the production crew that was able to set this up in such limited quick time with all the elements, we appreciate the hell out of you guys.

Great work.

Even though we couldn't hear some things, it's water, it's technology, and we're live as hell.

And

hell yeah, thank you to almost.

I don't know what this is.

What do we got?

Okay, what's going on here, boss?

17 years.

Congratulations to you.

Get Connor bite.

That's the ball of Metalwork.

Almost heavy.

Hey, by New Spoons.

West Virginia.

Life is older, older than the dream,

younger than the mountains, roaring like the breeze, country roads.

I belong

now.

That's almost heaven, okay?

So I don't love the name.

Oh, okay, got you.

Don't love the name, but I do love this honesty.

It's delightful.

This is very good.

Gonna hear a lot of that.

I thought about if game day was to go to Pitt, West Virginia, which is week three.

I think both teams need to do their shit the first couple weeks so we can make that happen.

I think that'll be an incredible scene.

Obviously, we'll showcase a rivalry that hasn't been showcased in a while and deservedly needs a spotlight and attention.

Two football places taking each other on in a big, big way.

Luke Combs actually came out.

I think he was up in Barcelona, Chicago, and he was asked, hey, what rivalry doesn't get talked about enough?

And he said, the backyard brawl, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, because I think he's been to both games in Morgantown and in Pittsburgh for that.

So if we're able to get to that, that would be great.

And I thought about it last night.

I was literally like, there's a good chance we get to that game, especially if you look at the schedule before then.

And then I thought, how are they going to handle the eat shit pit chance?

Like the ESPN.

Yeah.

I'm very excited.

Let it fly.

Because that'll be the entire.

It's 2025.

Let it fly.

I think so, too.

But there will be some suit back there.

I think I can see it.

It's not like things are getting canceled anymore.

I can see that guy's face is going to change.

Jelly Swole.

Huh?

Jelly Swole.

Oh, yeah.

And if Hogan.

And if you put jeans on.

Well.

If you're natural and proud of it, I guess it can certainly be taken away.

Lay off, Sicky Sweeney.

Whatever.

I'm fucking sick of it.

Lay off.

All right?

I agree.

Jesus.

This is on ABC.

I know it was on Good Morning America that's crazy to think about now with that being said no cars crashed no I thought no lightning hit the set gunshot

we kicked off Hall of Fame week in proper fashion and we ended it with

mama's having uh ice cream very delightful it's very good ice cream If you're in Canton, have some ice cream, come to the Hall of Fame, enjoy these people, enjoy life.

Football's back.

Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.

It might change their life.

We're in this thing together.

We'll see you guys in a while.

See you guys in a while.

It's going to be one.

See you around.

See you around.

We do love you.

We'll see you in a while.

And yes, we understand that we're taking up all of the days that we have.

Big football season coming.

It's starting tonight.

We're supposed to take those days.

You're the greatest people on earth for allowing us to do this for a living.

We can't thank you enough.

Team on me.

Team on three.

One, two, three.

You've seen the headlines, heard the debates.

The three-point ball has created a monotonous rhythm to the game and others.

Has the three-pointer ruined basketball?

And how did we get here?

The rise of the three-point shot can be partially traced to an eccentric Kansas genius named Martin Manley, whose story didn't turn out quite the way he imagined.

I decided I wanted to have one of the most organized goodbyes in history.
