Speaker 1 Hello beautiful people and welcome to our Humble Bow the Thunderdome on this massive Overreaction Monday November 24 2025 this sports program begins now
Speaker 1 Football is magical and the week 12 NFL Sunday slate delivered in a huge way. Not only do we have multiple overtime games now
Speaker 1 my team suffered
Speaker 1 In overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs and we are certainly gonna have to talk about that because lo and behold, maybe the Chiefs are still the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 That might be one of the top five headlines we roll into, but there's multiple overtimes. There's a huge comeback in a star-studded game.
Speaker 1 And then last night, we got a chance to watch a GOAT do a GOAT thing and absolutely demolish somebody.
Speaker 1
Now, tonight, Carolina Panthers travel all the way out to San Francisco to take on the 49ers in Santa Clara, California. Sorry, not San Francisco.
Seven and a half point spread.
Speaker 1 The Carolina Panthers with Rico Daudle, who's been one of the special stories of this NFL season. Who is this guy? Where did he come come from? Well, he's actually a machine.
Speaker 1
He's traveling to take on the Niners. The Niners, look at Brock back.
That offense is a wagon.
Speaker 1
Actually, it's evolved since the old gold mine in 49er days. It's not a wagon.
This thing is a train. No, it's a bullet train.
No.
Speaker 1 This thing is a hypersonic plane to London, which is going to transform the way the entire world operates.
Speaker 1
That is what the Niners offense looks like whenever Brock Purdy's back in in control, which he is tonight. We wrap up week 12 in a huge way.
The Toxic Tab was here at Boston Conner at Ty Schmidt.
Speaker 1
One half of the hammer, Dodd. Cowboys, AP Tone is here.
Tone, obviously, a lot of things happened around the NFL yesterday. How'd the public fare?
Speaker 1 Did we finally start beating the sports books or what? Oh,
Speaker 2
I wish I could tell you yes. Damn.
That is not the case. I went through it this morning.
Teams that were getting 60% or more of the bets yesterday were 2-7-1 against Spring.
Speaker 1 So,
Speaker 2
no. No, we have.
Even worse.
Speaker 2 We stink again.
Speaker 1 Okay, so
Speaker 1
maybe we're not seeing the board. Maybe the more we see, the less we know.
Some more.
Speaker 1 What do you mean by that?
Speaker 2 Like, I assume there's some people that had really good picks this week, but as a majority, no.
Speaker 1
Yeah, well, AJ Hawk actually had an incredible weekend. We'll see if that continues this evening.
I think he got nine right.
Speaker 1
Damn. Yeah, he went nine, three, and one.
I went six, six, one, nine, three, and one. Yeah, I feel good about where I'm at.
Speaker 1 Actually, as I was reading the graphic here to see how I did, because me and AJ both forget exactly who we're where, and there's other bets being made, obviously, throughout the weekend.
Speaker 1
So, 6-6- and 1, I was like, oh, bad, I got over to age. I'm like, age.
Age is seeing it right now. 9-3-1.
Now, is it a feeling? Is it a lurking feeling? What are we reading? What are we not?
Speaker 1
We shall dive into it all. Nine-year NFL vet, who looks incredibly cool.
Darius J. Butler is here.
Speaker 1
Debuts, what's your big takeaway from the weekend, do you think? Good football. Back.
Meaningful football.
Speaker 3
A lot of good football. A lot of records have been broken.
A lot of close games. So I guess that's that's my big takeaway so far in the week 12.
Speaker 1
Well, it's meaningful football now, too. Very meaningful.
Every loss
Speaker 1 can change a career.
Speaker 1 Every win
Speaker 1 can save a season.
Speaker 1
It's meaningful football time. Truly.
And that means we here
Speaker 1 need to do a sale for that.
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 1 Breaking news.
Speaker 1
At store.patmatfish show.com, there's currently a meaningful football sale. 25% off everything because it is that time of year.
Yes, Yes, we will celebrate Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1
And I hope you have a fantastic Black Friday. And I hope Christmas is magical.
And I hope your new year is great. But for us right now, it's big because it's meaningful football everywhere.
Speaker 1 College football has its rivalry weekend coming up. Hello, big time, meaningful football on Friday and Saturday alongside the NFL Slate on Thursday, which has every team playoff.
Speaker 1
implications on it's meaningful football. We're excited to be here.
25% off the whole store. If you want to support the place, want to to rock the place, rep the place.
Speaker 1
And if you don't, we completely understand. Who knows when you'll get this stuff? I think it'll be quick.
We've got to have a different crew on the back end.
Speaker 1
Different crew on the back end this time. CFO Phil, these folks put together.
They're ready for the excitement. If you are as well.
Store.patmackavyshow.com. We appreciate the hell out of you.
Speaker 1 Now, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to dive into the top five headlines coming out of week 12 of the NFL Sunday Slate.
Speaker 1 We said, we want to do something each week that maybe has a little bit of reason, a little bit of rhyme, a little bit of structure. What are they doing? Football games with that?
Speaker 1
Oh, that's called the first 15. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our first 15, driven by Ram Truck.
Whenever you hit the gas, that thing sounds like
Speaker 1 obviously incredibly smooth,
Speaker 1
powerful, and durable, but it's also perfect for the first 15 because that's what we're trying to be. Put the clock, please, in the lower left corner.
Bang. Let's get started.
Speaker 1 Top five headlines coming out of week 12, Sunday Slate. Number five, who's league?
Speaker 1
It's looking like Rams League. Heard that a lot last night.
Who's house? Rams' house, who's house, Rams' house. Felt loud.
Speaker 1 Felt like the Rams Faithful have finally, I don't want to say finally, but the Rams Faithful taking over that entire building.
Speaker 1 Now, whenever they go out to Los Angeles, you have no idea what's going to happen. How's this going to go?
Speaker 1 Is the franchise going to be able to be exciting enough and electrifying enough to steal the attention of the people that live in L.A.? And with the Rams, are they going to be good enough?
Speaker 1
Then they win the Super Bowl in SoFi, in their own stadium, in their own city. And then they go all in basically for that team.
They send a bunch of draft picks out there.
Speaker 1
You know, GM actually quoted saying, fuck them picks. You know, that's kind of everywhere.
We need to win right now in a brand new city.
Speaker 1 And somehow, from that era to what they're doing right now, they've been able to continue to turn over the dominance. They got a young defense that's everywhere.
Speaker 1 And they got a quarterback who was drafted in the same class as me and Debuss.
Speaker 1
He was picked number one. I was picked 222.
He was picked number one. Darius J.
Butler was picked. 41.
Oh, Debus. Deba.
Speaker 1
That's old CBA for Matthew Stafford and for Darius J. Butler.
But what this guy's doing this year is outrageous. He's the MVP odds-on favorite.
Speaker 1 And every time he's on primetime, he's doing the shit that he's doing, especially with Devontae, which D-Butt's going to get into here in a matter of moments.
Speaker 1 But every time he gets out on TV and showcases what he's able to do at this current stage of his career with dudes like Puka Nakua, who Devontae Adams said he's like, this is the greatest vibe of all time.
Speaker 1 Puka Nakua, always positive, always energetic, also impossible to tackle and incredibly tough, kind of sets a tone for everybody in the building.
Speaker 1 And oh yeah, you got an OG, Devontae Adams in that building. And oh yeah, Matthew Stafford's playing better football than he's ever played.
Speaker 1 Devontae Adams just passed Jimmy Graham for the most one-yard touchdowns in history of NFL.
Speaker 1 Congratulations, Devontae Adams.
Speaker 1 Is that real? Congrats, 15 of them. You know, Jerome Bettis is on that list.
Speaker 1
You know, Jerome Bettis had that run with the Pittsburgh Steelers where basically they would walk it all the way down the field and get to the one. And instead of the tush push, it was the bus.
hush.
Speaker 1
You know, and he just kind of ran it in for a touchdown. I think it was fast Willie Parker.
Parker got all the yards and had like no touchdowns. Why don't you have any touchdowns?
Speaker 1
Well, anytime we get a side five, busy territory. Yeah, he had like three touchdowns, two yards in a couple different games.
You're talking about one-yard touchdowns.
Speaker 1 Gronk had this situation, obviously, whenever they were down on the goal line with Tom Brady, they would just flank Gronk out there one-on-one. And if you sent one person out there, okay, well,
Speaker 1
that's a two-way go for Gronk right now. If you send two people out there, what happens to the box? Well, obviously, we're able to hammer it.
It's an unstoppable offensive weapon if you have it.
Speaker 1
Devontae's getoff, they say he's he's better than anybody. So not only do you have the best getoff, you also have a quarterback that never misses.
This dude never misses.
Speaker 1 And then on the defensive side, they're only giving up 16.3 points a game or something like that. That's the fewest in the NFL.
Speaker 1 This is the first time ever the odds on favor to the MVP has had a defense this company ever.
Speaker 1 So whenever you talk about who's league, it's starting to feel like we might be talking about the Rams League. Is that how you're seeing it, Debo? Absolutely.
Speaker 3
You talk about it offensively. It always starts with the quarterback.
A lot of questions about Matt and and his health coming into this season. So, for him to be playing like this now is unbelievable.
Speaker 3
And then everyone around him, obviously, we know his head coach, the play caller, Sean McVay, he's great. They got a good running game.
The O-line has been keeping him clean.
Speaker 3
Whenever you have a quarterback, you know, that's up in age. We mentioned being drafted at 0-9, you want to keep him clean.
You want to keep him upright. They've been doing a great job of that.
Speaker 3
And it's Devontae Adams. Once you get into that area, like his release game, even out here, like his release game off the ball.
I mean, Chad Ojocenco, Stevie Johnson, and Devontae Adams.
Speaker 3
Devontae Adams will be at the top of that list. Like he's so smooth out in the field when you get into that area, low red area, slants, phase, all of it.
And then Puka, he's everywhere.
Speaker 3 He does everything. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 Do you think because Sean McVay was a wide receiver, he has seen himself and he said, if I had Devontae's release, I would just on the goal line and we just flank him out there.
Speaker 1
You got Puka on the other side. You got Parkinson.
You got all these other weapons that obviously the Rams have in abundance.
Speaker 1 But if they one-on-one out here, Sean McVay's thinking in his head, if I had Devontae's release, that's a two-way.
Speaker 1 Do you think that is an advantage for wide receiver relationships when the head coach play caller is a wide receiver?
Speaker 3 I think that always helps. And it's part of, I mean, even when, like, he's always going to get the most out of his weapons.
Speaker 3 Even when Odell Beckham came over that year that you mentioned, they went and won the Super Bowl. He would just isolate Beckham on that side of the field.
Speaker 3 And that was while, you know, Cooper Cup was winning the triple crown, but he would get the best out of both guys and putting them in their situation to be productive.
Speaker 3 And on the opposite, you know, side of
Speaker 3
Devontae is Puka. And Puka is moving everywhere.
He dominates in the interior of the field. He'll insert through a B or C gap and run a route down the field.
He's tough.
Speaker 3 He came on the show and said, hey, look,
Speaker 3 I'll never be the guy that's going to run out of bounds or turn down contact. You talk about his vibes on and off the field, but you put the ball in number 12's hand.
Speaker 3 He's going to make something special happen damn near every time. And then defensively, you mentioned it.
Speaker 3
Rarely do we see an offense like this paired up with the championship level defense, but Chris Schuler has... the boys rolling.
The front four is the best in the league, in my opinion.
Speaker 3
And then guys on the back end really making a name for themselves this year. Kenchens, who had two picks last week.
Kobe Durant had a pick last week. Now he has a pick six this week.
Speaker 3 And Emmanuel Forbes Jr., I think he was targeted seven times and didn't give up a catch, which he was a washout in the Commanders.
Speaker 1 What happened to you on the Commanders? He's super skinny, right? Yeah.
Speaker 3 I mean, he's still a slim guy. And I think he'll always be a slim guy.
Speaker 3 But the reason you rarely see a guy that small get drafted in the first round, the reason he did was because of his skill set and how dominant he was at Mississippi State.
Speaker 3 And now you just see confidence. Confidence is everything at any position.
Speaker 3 When you're a cornerback having that in life, when you have that confidence, you're in the system, you have a coach that believes in you, you have players around you that are great.
Speaker 3
He, this is what you see when you go to a new place. And we always say, hey, maybe this guy just needs a fresh start.
That's a great example of this right here.
Speaker 1
To your point, D. Butt, is from Next Gen Stats.
Emmanuel Forbes faced seven targets and did not allow a single reception against the Buccaneers. And remember, this Buccaneers offense, really good.
Speaker 1 What's going on? He, so it seemed early he was reaching, maybe
Speaker 1
He was reaching for his arm, but they let him play. So it felt like it was happening early.
If he had broken anything up there, like collarbone, I don't know if they let him play.
Speaker 1 I don't want to diagnose anything, but it feels like something with the AC joint, I'm not 100% sure, just the way he was reaching for it, incredibly painful. I mean, like one of the most painful.
Speaker 3 How many times he sat before this? Like he was under duress. Like we saw in prime time when Josh Allen was running for his life against that Houston Texans defense.
Speaker 3 It kind of seemed very similar against this Rams front. So whatever he came into the season dealing with, it definitely didn't help
Speaker 3 facing a,
Speaker 1
what would they call him? James, Jays, what an incredible guy. I mean, that was good.
That was really good. I appreciate that.
But like
Speaker 1 what we're trying to say is he was reaching immediately to here.
Speaker 1 Feels like that's probably a very real thing he was playing through last night. So obviously, is Baker playing his best football? Is the offense playing their best football?
Speaker 1 Is anybody going to be able to play their best football against this Rams defense? I think that is the big question. And Shula was getting a lot of FaceTime last night.
Speaker 1
Chris Shula, as he should, because how dominant they were. This Buccaneers offense is good.
Oh, yeah. This is a very good Buccaneers offense that they did that to.
Speaker 4 We're like four weeks away from Ursar. We're four weeks removed from basically saying Timothy Bella going to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4
I mean, they had everything and the Bucks, or sorry, the Rams made him look basically incompetent on offense. And you're talking about Godwin was back.
They weren't as hurt.
Speaker 4 One thing, and I'm hoping this doesn't happen just because I would like my team to have a chance to win the Super Bowl. Aaron Donald needs to come back and just play 10 snaps a game with this D-line.
Speaker 4
And I don't care if he is even just on the sideline in patch, just hyping the guys up, kind of telling them, hey, that's great dance move. Maybe you can do this to make it a little better.
But
Speaker 4
he was on game day last week, two weeks ago, whatever. And he looks just as jacked as he did when he was playing.
Now he probably needs a little time to get into game shape, maybe even playing.
Speaker 1 I doubt it. A couple pounds.
Speaker 4 I don't think so. He might be able to play middle linebacker.
Speaker 1 That's why, just like Jage.
Speaker 1
Yes. Like JJ Watt, we kind of experienced his first year of retirement with him.
If you you do recall, weekly rejoin him. And that dude just didn't understand, like, hey, you're not still in the NFL.
Speaker 1 He was still getting under the squat rack every single morning, running sprints. You remember he was running sprints and doing cardio and everything?
Speaker 1 And I don't know if Aaron Donald's doing all of that stuff. I'd assume, yes, though.
Speaker 1
I would assume that he would be doing those things. And then we saw him with pink.
I mean, it got through me with a pinky. Yeah.
He got through me with a pinky. Still got those hits.
Speaker 1 He trained with knives. And whenever you talk about that front,
Speaker 1
you drop Aaron Donald in it. And once again, we have no inside information information on whether or not Aaron Donald wants to go back.
Aaron Donald's enjoying the hell out of his life, I think.
Speaker 1 And he's earned it. And he goes 10 years, eight all-pros, 10 Pro Bowls, one a Super Bowl, three defensive MVPs.
Speaker 1
I feel like I did pretty, I feel like I had a pretty good career. You certainly did, Aaron.
You certainly did. You worked your ass off for all those things.
But he was in the building last night. Yep.
Speaker 1 And I'm assuming he gets excited watching the way that defense goes.
Speaker 3 Yeah, I think you can get out there and play right now if you wanted to.
Speaker 3 I'm not sure if you guys heard them talking about, they've said it a few times with Jerry Verse when he went and worked out with them. He was like, you know what, Aaron? Don't call me.
Speaker 1 I'll call you.
Speaker 3
He said it was the hardest shit he ever experienced. And that's him post-NFL career.
So I'm sure 9-9 can still get in there and dominate.
Speaker 1 Congrats to the Rams fans. Yeah.
Speaker 4 Legit. It's a good life right now.
Speaker 1
Right now, it's very good. And how long is Matthew Stafford going to play, especially if he's hopping into that tube of live foreverness? Yeah, the Immortal Chamber.
Yeah, what was that thing called?
Speaker 1 Immortal Cryo Chamber of Life.
Speaker 4 It's amortal instead of immortal. So I don't know what the difference is.
Speaker 1 No. Well.
Speaker 2 Because he's an alpha.
Speaker 1 It's amoral, maybe.
Speaker 1 Maybe it's a hard A on that. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Whatever the case, he looks good.
Speaker 4 They also have their number 11 pick still.
Speaker 1 Who is calling the game? There it is. Amoral.
Speaker 1 Amoral.
Speaker 1
Amoral advertised itself as a wellness device that aims to optimize human performance and promote holistic health through a combination of non-invasive technologies. It worked.
It did.
Speaker 1
This guy's fucking unbelievable. Yeah, it did.
We saw him walk into this thing. Then we saw him walk out of that thing.
And now we're getting the season we're getting right now. Think they're him?
Speaker 1
That's a good question. Don't do this.
We talked to him about this, didn't we?
Speaker 2 Yeah, we talked to someone about it.
Speaker 1
He said, McClone's doing pretty good this year. And it's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Mr.
White Teeth, right there.
Speaker 2 Yeah, McClone would say that.
Speaker 1
He looks good, too. Oh, yeah.
Great. Looks young.
Even with the beard.
Speaker 1 And he's the arm. He's not getting hit either.
Speaker 4 He could play another body. Oh, it's like the body.
Speaker 1 It's been seven years.
Speaker 2 It's like a body that's playing out there has actually never been hit before this year.
Speaker 1 I mean, doesn't it? I mean, he is a little too sneaky. The touchdown to Parkinson, obviously, every week.
Speaker 2 I also never saw those calves until this year.
Speaker 1
Every year. Well, he was hiding them maybe because he's a humble man.
Did he get new legs? Well, it does appear maybe from Knees Don because those calves.
Speaker 1 But once again, we don't really know because he's, we've never really heard from him.
Speaker 1
Other than mic'd-up situations with NFL Films when he was in Detroit, just getting murdered and then throwing awesome passes. Detroit was so stinky.
So stinky. Poor man.
So stinky.
Speaker 1 But they had Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford, so you were kind of forced to pay attention to them. You know, like we were all forced to pay attention to that team because they were doing records.
Speaker 1
And I mean, Devontae's on his, he's on a record-breaking pace right now. Already did last night.
Jumped top 10, top nine, top eight, whatever the number is in touchdowns. Congratulations.
Speaker 3
Already only has one last touchdown as a ram. One behind Puka.
Puka has 13.
Speaker 1 He has 12. Yeah, it's been a hell of a year.
Speaker 1 And I'll tell you what, whenever you find the cheat code on goal line offense and you don't need everybody on your team to get accordioned, you know, like the tush push does, that's a really nice thing.
Speaker 1 The offensive line loves that Devontae Adams has a one-on-one on the outside. You know who else loves that? Running back to, well, running back may want the touchdown.
Speaker 1
Everybody else loves it that it's happening out there. And all Matthew Stafford has to do is what? Just the thing that he's the best in the world at? Just put it into a bucket.
Okay. No problem.
Speaker 1 And Devontae's like, wait till you guys see the shit I worked on in the summer. It's actually a triple fucking.
Speaker 1 That's all. He's just crossing dudes up.
Speaker 1
Is that the hardest? So what's the hardest? You don't know where he's going? Because he doesn't use his hands either. Yeah, they're just down.
His hands are like down. It's like very interesting.
Speaker 1 What is the hardest part about his get off? Everybody talks about his get off, his get off, his get off. It just, to me, it looks like he just shakes the shit out of somebody.
Speaker 3
Honestly, on that one, that one, that was inexcusable by McCullen because you have help inside there at Winfield and he's so close. I'm sure they go.
Yeah, I'm sure they go at this point.
Speaker 3
Like, hey, we're talking about it. 17, we're down here.
You got to guard guard half a man. It's like Des Bryant used to be automatic down there at Romo when they got there.
Speaker 3
He was going to throw the back short of fade regardless of what was happening. But if you're a corner, you got to be able to guard half a man at least.
So you take away half.
Speaker 3 But if you're one-on-one just on an island and he has a two-way go on you, you want to initially take away leverage.
Speaker 3 But a veteran like him, even if he sees out inside leverage, he'll probably set you up and still try to take it away. So when you have that two-way goal and you've done it as much as...
Speaker 3 he has done it and then you have a quarterback that can actually be on the same page and hit you it's damn near unstoppable Yeah, because Stafford's not missing.
Speaker 1 Exactly. Like, we'll see sometimes those opportunities where a ball will be a little too far, land out of bounds, be a little short, will get batted off to somebody's back or something like that.
Speaker 1
I think there was a situation last night with Dak and CD. Obviously, we will talk about that here in a matter of moments.
About where CD thought the ball was going versus where it actually went.
Speaker 1
Now, granted, it went right through his arms, so he thought it was going to back corner. It's like Stafford seemingly always puts it right to the place that everybody wants.
Exactly.
Speaker 1 That's why when you're talking about ball spinners, bro, got it.
Speaker 1
Absolutely got it. Could do it forever.
Let's go to the top four headline now. We're talking about the
Speaker 1 bare necessities. The stinking bare necessities.
Speaker 1
Hey, the Bears, the Kings of the North. This is real.
Big gun. Hey, just a tough team coming in.
Speaker 1 Well, Pittsburgh Steelers. With Mason Rudolph, who by Steelers fans own omissions, was fresh off a hot fourth quarter with this Steelers team.
Speaker 1 Maybe the guy who needs to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to the promised land they were hoping hoping to go to this season because Aaron Rodgers fractured his left wrist.
Speaker 1 Now, the story going in was, is Aaron Rodgers going to play against a team that he's the landlord of? Is Aaron Rodgers going to play against Chicago Bears? Maybe one final time in Chicago.
Speaker 1
He's got a fracture on his left wrist. Okay, he's obviously throws right-handed.
He was trying to get in the game last week. He was allegedly trying to play this week for a number of reasons.
Speaker 1 Not only because he's super competitive and he loves this Pittsburgh Steelers team, but also because he would like to do one more. One more that he's on Chicago.
Speaker 1 We found out that he was a fan of the Chicago sports team because he watched WB growing up. It was one of his six channels.
Speaker 1 So he saw the Bulls and who wasn't a fan of the Bulls, especially if a Michael Jordan fan like I was.
Speaker 1 He loved the Cubs and he loved playing against Chicago, obviously with the Packers because it's a rivalry that he held in high regards. So we thought Aaron Rodgers was going to hear.
Speaker 1
Wasn't Aaron Rodgers. It was Mason Rudolph.
And guess what? It didn't matter because what the Chicago Bears team is, real. Now, let me talk to you about what I like about Caleb Williams.
Speaker 1 Ben Johnson, what he was able to do at the Detroit Lions with Jared Goff, he turned Jared Goff, who is a robot, into a very, very, very, very, very, very efficient robot.
Speaker 1
Hey, this is what we need to do. These exact steps, this exact play fake.
The ball needs to be at this exact pinpoint.
Speaker 1 So we wondered, is Caleb Williams ever going to be able to buy into the Ben Johnson system? Yeah, well, for all that to happen, you need a lot of things. Need a great offensive line.
Speaker 1
They invest in the offensive line. Oh, yeah.
Need a great run game. Okay, need a great run game.
Okay, we're going to have a run game.
Speaker 1
This is if you look at what the Detroit Lions had with Ben Johnson. Best offensive line, need a great run game.
Then what do you need a quarterback that's able to do?
Speaker 1 Well, he needs to be able to hand that ball off to the running back and then he needs to be able to play action the shit out of that defense.
Speaker 1
Because if you have a good play action and you have your back to the defense. Back to the defense like this.
Taylor Williams spent his entire life shotgun looking at everybody.
Speaker 1
Hey Caleb Williams, you're the best athlete on the field. You need to have eyes on everybody and if something doesn't work, make it work.
That's what you need to do.
Speaker 1
Now they're asking Caleb for the success of this offense, for this offense to be as good. You have to take the ball, commit completely, turn your back to the defense.
TJ Watts on that defense.
Speaker 1
Turn your back completely to the defense. Sell this thing so that the linebackers can't move.
Okay, these linebackers can't move. They can't do anything.
They have no idea.
Speaker 1
And then back, as soon as you turn, you need to know that the ball is going to go right to there, right to the seam. That's where it needs to go.
We don't need you thinking.
Speaker 1
Okay, we just need you to turn your back. Don't be scared of getting hit in the face.
Could happen. And then as soon as you turn around, you need to just spin that thing.
Speaker 1 You will catch the defense in a land that they don't want to be in. You will have wide open guys everywhere.
Speaker 1 And I'll tell you what, yesterday against this Pittsburgh Steelers defense, wide open guys everywhere. The rhythm, the timing, the execution of an offense by Caleb Williams was very much on display.
Speaker 1
50 couldn't do shit right there. 50 couldn't do a damn thing right there because he had no idea what Caleb was going to do.
Back to the defense. Turns around.
Boom. On a button.
See you later.
Speaker 1 He has to know what the defense is doing pre-snap.
Speaker 1 So Caleb has to know what the defense is kind of doing pre-snap because then now he has to decide where he's going once he turns his back back around. But he's making the right decisions.
Speaker 1
He's committed completely. to the play action and their team's built to have success.
And then on defensive side, they just get turnovers everywhere.
Speaker 1 They get turnovers everywhere. Now, there's a couple stats that Hembo sent over to me about this Chicago Bears team.
Speaker 1 Last year in games that were decided by five points or less, 2024, they were one and six.
Speaker 1
This year, there's six and one. In those games, Chicago has a plus 12.
turnover margin in those games.
Speaker 1 So whenever you talk about not only are they winning the close games because they're seemingly a culture, a moxie, an aura, good, better, best, never let wrestle go his better and better is best.
Speaker 1 They have that defense getting the ball back for an an offense that is going to become much, much better.
Speaker 1
This is the first step. Now, I guess this would be the second step.
First step was like buying into the offense, being good by Caleb.
Speaker 1 Second step, starting to understand pre-snap what the defense is doing, fully committing to play action.
Speaker 1 There's so much more, if you remember, what Ben Johnson and Jared Goff were able to do in Detroit.
Speaker 1
This is the... fundamental basis of this offense is being able to do this off of play action.
Then all the other shit comes in.
Speaker 1 So whenever you talk about about up and to the right, it's like Caleb and Ben Johnson. If they were able to work, we're going to be maybe unstoppable.
Speaker 1 Seems like they're getting to the point where they are going to work, where we can confidently say that. It's just how quickly do they become that absolute juggernaut that Detroit was?
Speaker 1 It might be soon. It is fun to watch what they're doing up there.
Speaker 3
Yeah, I think they're just scratching the surface. They're only 11 games in and you're sitting at 8-3.
I don't think many people expected this.
Speaker 3 And Caleb Williams, he like when it's a high-leverage situation, I feel like that's when he's playing his best ball.
Speaker 3 And that's, that's really, you rarely hear that for a young quarterback like him so i think they're just scratching the surface with this offense and yeah it is a belief and a trust in something that you really haven't done your whole life i would assume he ran a similar offense in high school in the gun up tempo went to college moved around the colleges but did similar things so to get to the national football league and now you're in a huddle you got to command the huddle you got to call plays you got to be under center you got to do play action And he's handling it great.
Speaker 3
He has young guys around him as well. I think Burden will continue to come along, who was their first-round first-round pick this year.
Another first-round pick, Loveland.
Speaker 3 Obviously, a lot of people made a lot of noise because we ended up with Tyler Warren, but I think he'll be just as good. Like, he's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 You got to be a good blocker to play at Michigan and win the national championship, but you never saw his receiving skills when he was in college.
Speaker 3
And I think we're just kind of getting to the surface of that as well. And then we know who DJ Moore is.
You know, a couple more touchdowns for him yesterday.
Speaker 3 But Caleb Williams, I couldn't be more impressed with what he's doing. And then defensive side of the ball, Dennis Allen.
Speaker 3 And I got to give a shout out to Al Harris, too, because everywhere he goes, that secondary plays better and better. And Deshaun Wright, this guy was on Minnesota's practice squad last year.
Speaker 3
Now he's tied with his teammate, Kevin Byard, leading the National Football League. And that's an unbelievable interception right there.
He said he has some wide receiver in his background.
Speaker 3 Actually, gave Antonio Brown, Tony Toe Tap, a shout out for this play, but unbelievable play. And you mentioned it, it's not just the offense or just the defense.
Speaker 3 We always talk about teams taking on the identity of their coach and kind of playing complimentary football and winning these close ball games. And they've been doing it all year long, man.
Speaker 3 Caleb Williams already has the franchise record with fourth quarter comebacks. Like, I can't say enough about the Chicago Bears team.
Speaker 1
They had a lot of injuries as well. This isn't like the full Chicago Bears team.
And I have a chance to talk to, obviously, multiple Chicago Bears fans. Zito is living the high life.
Speaker 1 I assume they are very excited.
Speaker 1 He's getting stakes every Sunday because the Chicago Bears are getting big-time wins. We also have another friend who lives in Los Angeles, but is a die-hard Chicago Bears fan.
Speaker 1
Just the amount of, we're only getting better. Well, We're getting guys back healthy.
We don't even have any linebackers in the moment. We're only getting better at this time.
Speaker 1 They feel like, hey, we've been waiting a long, long time.
Speaker 1 And once you start to see those little sparks, little sparks of that offense looking like Jared Goff and Caleb looking like Jared Goff, it's like, man, what do you, Ben and Jared were able to do versus adding what Caleb can do into that with Ben Johnson knowing what Caleb can do.
Speaker 1 So now you got this type of shit happening and he's the head coach of the team. So he's not leaving.
Speaker 1 So you can't, you don't have to be like scared that we're going to have massive success here with a young quarterback and he's going to be gone because that's what happens with good offensive coordinators.
Speaker 1
They end up leaving. Ben Johnson leaves Detroit, goes to Chicago.
So they could potentially only grow and grow and grow. Andy Reed, Patrick Mahomes type shit.
Speaker 1 And I don't want to like get cart before horse, but that's very real, I think, at this point.
Speaker 2 No, their offense with their weapons is awesome. You guys talked about it and you talked about DJ Moore.
Speaker 2 Everybody knows DJ Moore except for the Steelers defense that just let him run straight down the seam uncovered.
Speaker 2 But like,
Speaker 2 they have guys at literally every single position. You talk about Loveland, like Colkomet's still there, too.
Speaker 2
And the wide receivers that they have, and now with Monungai, they have two backs, and the O-line is incredible. But yeah, the defense, all their linebackers were out.
And then what?
Speaker 2
Jalen Johnson's been out for a while. They have another starting guy in the secondary who's been out for a while.
When they get all those guys back, they're only going to get better.
Speaker 2 And they're winning games right now and learning how to win games right now. So that's that is really, really a good thing for them.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1
Hey, good for Chicago. Yeah, I'm believing.
Good for Chicago. And Caleb is going to be a guy, right? We're all on that boat.
Speaker 1 Absolutely.
Speaker 3 Now I was always never left.
Speaker 1
You were. He was.
You were. You were very much worse than that.
He was very fast. I was.
I was on boat. Like, hey, Caleb's, Caleb's a guy.
Caleb's a guy. Caleb's a guy.
Speaker 1
And then I saw Ben Johnson and heard stories about Ben Johnson. And then I saw the way it started.
And I was like, oh,
Speaker 1 this might not work out here for Caleb in Chicago. It might be another one of those stories of a guy having to find another home and then finding the right spot and doing his thing.
Speaker 1 And then the thought of Caleb just completely being able to transform how he thinks thinks in a season and then it being very much on display.
Speaker 1 Like you can literally just kind of watch it unfold in front of us. It's like, oh, no, they're only going to get better in this entire thing.
Speaker 1
I think it's a big lookout from the Chicago Bears to everybody. Now we're just talking about the Rams.
The Rams and McVay, Stafford and McVay are on like, you're what, eight of this now?
Speaker 4 Seven. Something like that, yeah.
Speaker 1 Seven and eight of this offense being what it is. you know and they add Devontae it's like that's what you're thinking here with the Bears it's like they're only if
Speaker 1 and Caleb are together the other pieces around it are like, okay, this is sustainable. This is like kind of sustainable.
Speaker 3 And people are going to want to go there.
Speaker 1 You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 People are going to want to go to Chicago. Like the first thing you look at, you know, free agency, obviously after money is like, okay, how's the quarterback? Do I have a chance to win?
Speaker 3
How's the head coach? Do I like the culture? And everything we're seeing has been great. And we all heard a lot of things from Caleb Williams.
We saw a lot of things or people around his camp.
Speaker 3
You hear different things. And it's like, okay, Ben Johnson.
Because we all know how the personalities have to mesh. So I think that was a big question for a lot of people.
Speaker 3 And I don't know, maybe it's more I see like behind the scenes or like mic'd up, where it's like, okay, I didn't expect certain things from Caleb Williams that I'm seeing now.
Speaker 3 And we all know he had the talent, but it's so much more than talent that goes into it. And he feels like he has all those things as well.
Speaker 2
And yesterday, everything was on script. Like we know him for his off-script stuff.
He didn't do any of that yesterday.
Speaker 1 Now that could have been because people were running wide open, but like everything was on script. So what's going on with you guys, buddy? Scalers, I've pretty much scaled script.
Speaker 1 they stink what they stink no they're six and five that's a fool gaze what
Speaker 1 that's fool's gold
Speaker 1 easy don't get into fool's gold please don't be doing this it's one of my favorite movies matt buchana uh shout out that's something we're talking about though and we are talking about two max on the line babe uh pittsburgh steelers though six and five there's been multiple years now where the pittsburgh steelers have had successful records good records and steelers fans have openly said into microphones that people are listening to and amongst the entire city and Steeler fan base itself, this team ain't good enough to win anything.
Speaker 1
This is fake. This is fake.
That's how Steelers fans feel. If it doesn't look like it can win a Super Bowl, Steelers fans immediately know and they're looking for a reason to talk shit about you.
Speaker 1 And that is kind of where we've been with the Steelers team for a few weeks. Certainly after the way yesterday looks, it sounds.
Speaker 2 Yeah, and the defense, like the, we talked about, there was a month ago, it was like, oh, the defense is the worst.
Speaker 2 And then there was three or four weeks where they were getting, getting better, and then they regressed yesterday. Everybody was riding, running wide open.
Speaker 2 To those Steelers fans that said Mason should be the starting quarterback, you guys are idiots.
Speaker 2 I just want to say that out there. I think Aaron probably would have won the football game yesterday, but no, it's just everything's disjointed.
Speaker 2 We just showed Caleb throwing all those seam routes and everything over the middle. They don't throw over the middle because there's a chance an interception happens.
Speaker 2 And then third and five, they just let wide receivers run wide open at five yards because they're afraid of getting beat for something worse.
Speaker 2 Like, it's like you play the safest brand of football imaginable because that's how you try to, you try to win football games. That's not how you win football games these days.
Speaker 1 Yeah, it's also tough to watch as a fan. If you're coaching,
Speaker 1
I had a coach tell me we're just trying to get one point more than the other team. Exactly.
Yes.
Speaker 1
Can we try to get 30 more than the other team? That'd be a lot better. It'd be a lot better life for all of us if we were trying to do that.
But that is a mindset. Hey, we play winning football.
Speaker 1
We play winning football. It should work out.
While the Bears are playing winning football, they're above 500. It's why I say six and five.
Speaker 3 It could be worse.
Speaker 1 Tied for first.
Speaker 4 Yeah, still tied for the lead.
Speaker 1
Got it. Got it.
The Ravens, yeah, they can play their best game and get away.
Speaker 1 You guys got it. Go to the playoffs.
Speaker 2 The Bucs were like 6-5 when they won the Super Bowl, right, with Brady in that first year. That's right.
Speaker 1
So we can still do it. That's right.
Good point. There we go.
Think about the Giants story back in the year. They're going to fire him off.
Nine and seven and they won the Super Bowl. Boom.
Hope.
Speaker 4 I hate it.
Speaker 1
Especially when you're watching this team, it looks like. Yeah, because he hasn't had it for a few weeks, hasn't he? No.
No.
Speaker 1 And the fan that he was talking about being an idiot was himself.
Speaker 1 That's the thing that just happened right here. That's good accountability.
Speaker 4 And even when they had it, the Ravens were still favored to win the division.
Speaker 1 Remember, we were all like, what the hell is going on? Yeah, four-name lead or something. Yeah, sportsman.
Speaker 1
Fugues. Yeah, this team stinks.
That's really what they were saying. All right, let's move on to the next headline, shall we? Ladies and gentlemen, number three, come another week 12 NFL Sunday slate.
Speaker 1 Although not all these teams won, okay?
Speaker 1
There were some super duper special teams, wasn't there? Oh, yeah. There were some magical things that happened around.
How about Evan McPherson, Money Mac of the Cincinnati Bengals?
Speaker 1
They would go on to lose to the Patriots by six, but McPherson would hit a 63-yarder in Cincinnati in November. A lot of long sleeves on, obviously, out and around there.
Cold times.
Speaker 1 Cincinnati, obviously, very windy. 63 just becoming like a casual day
Speaker 1
in the NFL these days. Congrats to him.
Let's continue with the long balls. Will Reichard here from the Vikings out of Alabama, as we all recall.
He has four kicks of 59 yards or plus this season.
Speaker 1
That's the most ever. And that was one in Lambeau.
That thing hooked at the end. He played the wind beautifully.
This kid's seemingly money from everywhere.
Speaker 1 The Vikings would go on to lose to the Green Bay Packers, but it was still a great kick. Great kick.
Speaker 4 He scored all their points. And that was kind of, you know, like, I mean, it's massive when you have a struggling offense like that when you can confidently put a guy out there.
Speaker 4 and say like, hey, this guy, he will be good from 59 to 60. So yeah, I mean, he was the best player on the field for them yesterday.
Speaker 1
And they have a dome, so him doing that in Lambeau, obviously good for him. And 9 struggling.
Nine struggling.
Speaker 4 He stinks, unfortunately. He needs a little bit of help, obviously, and I don't think it's right to put it all on him.
Speaker 4 But boy, just, we talked about it from what they were last year to what they look like this year.
Speaker 4 I kind of, I almost feel bad for Nine because they just, they have no chance to win when he's playing, really.
Speaker 4 And I know he won a couple weeks ago, but when he plays like he did yesterday, shit, they'd have a tough time beating Michigan this year.
Speaker 1
So Michigan's getting good. Obviously, big one this weekend.
Ohio State this weekend. Can't wait to be up in Ann Arbor.
Hembo sent us some stats here.
Speaker 1
Justin Jefferson, whatever he's being targeted under. Kirk Cousins had a 109.8.
Sam Donahue 108.1. J.J.
McCarthy 47.4. I think that was rude.
There was other quarterbacks too.
Speaker 1
Hembo decided not to leave out like the Pastor Naut. Yeah.
Joe Webb and Carson Wayne.
Speaker 1 That form of context. There was a lot of people.
Speaker 3 Joe Sherry as well. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah, there's a lot of context he's saying. Yeah.
Hembo's got stats and ideas, and there's a lot of people saying that about nine, but Will Rikert, absolute dog.
Speaker 1 Let's go to a big-time return in a losing effort. Once again, it doesn't make
Speaker 1
it. We shouldn't talk about it.
Chamare DK
Speaker 1 takes one.
Speaker 1
88 yards against the Seahawks. Now, there's not a lot to celebrate with the Tennessee Titans.
Okay, the brand kind of stinks right now. Nobody really trusts ownership to make the right decisions.
Speaker 1 They don't have a coach, but they have a special moment here with Chamari taking it to the crib.
Speaker 1 And my cause, Mike Cleets, one of his friends who passed away from cardiac arrest, had a foundation starter here, Kyle Lermer, a memorial fund, and raising money in that front.
Speaker 1
So him running with his friend literally on his feet, I think was a very cool moment. That's a sweet moment.
Obviously, Dixon doesn't love it.
Speaker 1 The punter for Seattle, he hits a monster ball, comes back. But that was a cool moment.
Speaker 1 Like as I learned the story, I almost got like pretty emotional about it because there's not a lot going right for Tennessee. That going right felt like it was a little bit of a thing.
Speaker 1 Congrats to him. That's big time return.
Speaker 1 Let's go to another big ball. How about Jake Bates in a winning effort from the Detroit Football Lions, the brand new Lions? Look at this kick from the back here.
Speaker 1 The old Lions, this ball would not be going in.
Speaker 1
New Lions, the brand new Lions, this ball goes in. Look at the snap.
Great hold. Phenomenal by Fox.
Slice.
Speaker 1 Come back home.
Speaker 1
59-yarder. Now, that is the perfect depiction of the old Lions versus the new lions.
Amen. Old Lions, that thing hits the upright at least and doesn't go in.
It's so loud.
Speaker 1 New Lions, that thing kind of sneaks in, doesn't even touch the uprights because they don't want to celebrate or ruin the moment.
Speaker 1
59 yards here from the greatest UXFL, super duper football league alum in the history of the league. Yep, without a doubt.
What a stud there. He's former super duper Detroit.
Speaker 1 There it is.
Speaker 1 The UXFL.
Speaker 1
They're doing good over there. Hey, come on.
One more ball is better.
Speaker 1 What are they cranking up? I think there's
Speaker 1 a new league coming. Did they pay their QBs, man?
Speaker 1 The Michigan Panthers no longer exist. What? Yeah, I'm sorry to say that.
Speaker 2 Didn't they fire all the GMs in the game?
Speaker 4 They did. There will be one man who oversees all of the football ops, essentially, for the league.
Speaker 1
So they're kind of going back to what the original X was. Correct.
Yeah, they need to put the X back into football. And this guy's got it figured out.
I'm sure of it. Let's go to the last one.
Speaker 1
Let's go to the highlight of all the highlights. A special teams highlight that needs to be watched for all of time.
Five minutes left. Tie game.
Fourth quarter. Got to come out and punt.
Speaker 1
Returner catches it on his one. Thank you, sir, for doing that.
Now we have a chance to coverage. Oh, shit.
Fun ball. Long stepper on the ball.
First and goal from the sixth.
Speaker 1 Everyone's down 21 points now.
Speaker 1 In the fourth quarter on a special teams play, a special play happens.
Speaker 1
Look into Elijah Clark. Now, it's been shown a thousand times.
We feel obligated to show it once again because there is a point that I have versus other people.
Speaker 1 As I was watching this highlight take place, they were showing Elijah Clark's effort here as Sidney Brown pushes him around. Great effort by Sidney Brown, too.
Speaker 1
Anytime you get a body on the floor on a return, that's good news. Elijah Clark refused to be denied.
Continued to chase, continue to follow.
Speaker 1 Helmet to the ball. Fumblia.
Speaker 1 Go ahead and try to get some points. Now, that type of effort.
Speaker 1
It cannot be taught. That type of effort only comes from the soul of an absolute dog.
Elijah Clark is everything that is great with football, with special teams football.
Speaker 1 As I'm watching it as a former punter, I'm thinking to myself, yes, this is the man or 10 of the dudes that we need.
Speaker 1 And I appreciate the fact that the entire NFL world, even the folks that weren't a part of special teams, were like, hey, the reason why you should be respecting what's going on, this guy was the best football player everywhere he's ever been.
Speaker 1
Elijah Clark walks onto the field. Holy hell, Elijah Clark's here.
I assume since he's like eighth grade. I assume since like eighth, seventh, eighth grade, he's been the best player on the field.
Speaker 1
Then it gets to the NFL. Hey, the way you're going to make this team is by playing something you've never played before.
You're going to have to run blindly down the field and try to cover somebody.
Speaker 1
How far is the run? Well, Anger's got a huge leg, so maybe 60, 70-yard run. And then also you're going to have to go across the field.
And then what else is going to happen?
Speaker 1 Well, you're going to get blindsided, pushed, and then there's going to be people trying to get you out of there. Yeah, but so what's the end game? Well, maybe you might possibly make the tackle.
Speaker 1 Only one person can make the tackle, but hopefully you'll be able to do it.
Speaker 1 So for him, superstar to buy into that and all the other guys that buy into special teams, it's the backbone of what football is, which is why we try to save special teams at every single turn.
Speaker 1 There's a lot of guys that only have jobs because of special teams.
Speaker 1
There's a lot of football plays that get made that are so special to football that if they were to not exist anymore, it would hurt the game. This is one of them.
Elijah Clark, absolute dog.
Speaker 1 God, give me that guy. Give me.
Speaker 1 Could you imagine this guy was your gunner and you were a punter?
Speaker 1 Oh, man.
Speaker 3 amazing and debut i think we were talking about this earlier yep this is being shown by uh everybody this would be shown in every special team probably team meeting rooms because you mentioned a large chunk of of the roster this is how you make teams this is how you stay in the league and for me honestly I wasn't cut out for this shit.
Speaker 3 I was not made for special teams, and I realized that very early on in my NFL career.
Speaker 3 Fortunately, I was drafted high enough to where I could sabotage some of these special team drills early and kind of get buried on all the bottom of the gunner depth chart.
Speaker 3
So I did do what Sydney Brown's doing, and I did do some returning early on. But this shit right here, like there's football games.
You could play 50 snaps on defense.
Speaker 3 One special teams rep, like a punt rep or a kickoff rep, old kickoff rep,
Speaker 1 old kickoff rep.
Speaker 1 Those reps.
Speaker 3 Probably like 12 to 14 defensive snaps as far as the physical and mental toes it takes on you because it is every guy out there.
Speaker 3
It feels like they're battling for their job and their NFL and their professional life. And it's just a different breed.
And this is a perfect example of that. And this was a winning play.
Speaker 3 I know it was very, very nice of you to show all those great efforts from those losing teams, but this is an unbelievable play
Speaker 3 and a winning effort for a winning team.
Speaker 1
It was a winning effort, but obviously they don't do anything with it. They go for it four, four times.
They don't get a turnover on downstream.
Speaker 1 Thanks for ruining it. But it was a
Speaker 3 unbelievable.
Speaker 1
Unbelievable. Yes.
Which goes to the number two headline.
Speaker 1 Ladies and gentlemen, the Cowboys
Speaker 1 come back, carouse the Eagles. A lot of different ways to use the C words in this particular title.
Speaker 1
We landed on this one, the Cowboys comeback, carouse the Eagles, strictly because it was Philadelphia Eagles night. It was their night.
Jalen Hurts is bopping around, scoring touchdowns.
Speaker 1
AJ Shoes and Cleats look so awesome out there. Devontae's making big-time plays.
Siriani's living the high life down in Jerry World. Hello and welcome to the show.
We are your Super Bowl champions.
Speaker 1
That's what it felt like. There were shots of Dak on the sideline taking his helmet off.
And I actually thought to myself, maybe Dak isn't the guy that we've been talking about.
Speaker 1 Remember just a week ago, we were talking about the Dallas Cowboys holding Dak back. You know, the conversation was always, is Dak holding back the Cowboys.
Speaker 1
How come nobody's ever talked about the Cowboys holding Dak back? That's where we were. Then I watched the beginning of this game.
I'm like, what an idiot I was. This guy's face.
Speaker 1
That is not what it is at all. Boom.
Fast forwards the right before the half. Dak Prescott, George Pickens.
What a trade this was by Jerry Jones.
Speaker 1 Now, whenever DK Metcalf goes to Pittsburgh, we wondered if GP and DK were going to be able to eat on the same offense. They were not.
Speaker 1
George Pickens goes to Dallas, changes up his entire trajectory of his entire career on a contract here. Not only that touchdown.
Let's go to 21-14 in the fourth.
Speaker 1
George Pickens, spectacular catch, which is kind of what he does. This is literally what he does.
He'll go up and get it. He's fast.
He has great football IQ.
Speaker 1
And he feels like he's at home with the Dallas Cowboys. And Jerry Jones is at the stage of life where he just calls him George.
You know, we're very happy about George now.
Speaker 1
You know who else is happy about George? Dak Prescott. Fourth quarter.
21-14. Ah, John Elway.
Let me land on my neck and go absolutely apeshit here at Jerry World. 21-21.
Eagles can answer.
Speaker 1
There are Super Bowl champs. Jalen Hurts, make something happen.
Saquon Barkley, MVP. Oh, no.
Speaker 2 Fumball.
Speaker 1
Dallas Cowboys recover. Now what are they going to do with it? Nothing.
Now they punt, send it down. We just watched this.
Elijah Clark says, don't worry about it, Dak. Don't worry about it, boys.
Speaker 1
He'll catch the punt at the one. Xavier Gibson, who is a very talented returner.
Bad decision here leads to a worse outcome. Dallas Cowboys get it first and goal on a seven in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1
Five minutes left in the fourth. Oh my gosh.
They were down 21. All we need is Dak to just do something.
Fourth and goal. Dak Prescott at shotgun from the one and a half.
Speaker 1
Scanning, throwing, short, not going to do it. Turnover on Don's.
Holy hell. How do you not get something done? Well, don't worry about it.
The Eagles won't either. Third and two.
Sacked by Osa.
Speaker 4 Odigizua.
Speaker 1
Friend of the program. Got paid.
Absolute beast. Huge play.
The Cowboys get the ball back. Dak Prescott hits a couple.
Speaker 1 Then he finds George Pickens once again to get in the field goal range in Brandon Aubrey.
Speaker 1 Is he from the UXFL?
Speaker 1
I think he's just from the streets. Actually, I think he's from the football gods, Brandon Aubrey.
He missed a kick earlier in the game. We were all very confused.
Speaker 1
He's gotten to that point where if he misses, we have no idea what the hell is going on. We all assumed he was going to make the game winner.
He did.
Speaker 1 Congrats to the Cowboys getting a huge win after seemingly a historic collapse by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 1 Debut, your talking point from this game, Dak and Dallas, very durable and tough, or Philadelphia Eagles? This is exactly who we thought they were.
Speaker 3
A little bit of both. I still have the utmost faith in the Philadelphia Eagles to figure it out.
But for the Cowboys to come out there, be down, you know, Shodi said it after the game.
Speaker 3
Yeah, we might have spotted him 21. You can't win in the game any other quarter but the fourth quarter.
And that's what the Cowboys did.
Speaker 3
Dak Prescott has been dominant, especially at home against his divisional opponents. He's been unbelievable.
And the go out, we talked about championship defenses coming to this game.
Speaker 3 This is what we felt about the Eagles, and I still think they'll figure it out.
Speaker 3 But George Pickens, man, him coming over here and the way that they use him in this offense compared to what they used, how they used him in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3
Pittsburgh, he was basically just a shot guy at the X. Now he's running across the middle.
He's getting matched up on slot defenders. He's on the outside.
He's on the inside.
Speaker 3 And right now, he's wide receiver one in Dallas. And I think after this season, it looks like he's probably the highest paid wide receiver in the National Football League.
Speaker 3 I don't know if it'll be in Dallas because of what they paid to CD, but he is that type of talent. He's just unbelievable.
Speaker 4 Go-to guy that you can throw the ball anywhere around and three is going to come down with it yeah you talk about three needing money well jerry will figure that out won't he time yeah i think it's time we maybe give jerry a little bit of credit you know people have been killing him all year but i think this is one of the rare instances where you look at the micah parsons trades and like both teams won that trade packers got what they needed cowboys early on this year maybe not so much but it enabled jerry to kind of go and get quinnon williams and their their defense i mean we knew what their offense was very early on this year.
Speaker 4 It was, hey, Cowboys are going to score 50 points a game to win. And, you know, now after the trade deadline, they have some of those pieces in place.
Speaker 4 And I think Jerry knew all along, like, hey, there is a way that I can kind of remake this team
Speaker 4 during the season. And people can keep talking about Micah and how big of a mistake that was.
Speaker 4
He's unbelievable. He is.
But I think you could also argue that the Cowboys probably are better off without him with the guys they brought in.
Speaker 4 So, yeah, I mean, if you're looking at everything right now, I think the Cowboys are one of those teams where, like, you don't want to play them right now with how their defense is playing.
Speaker 4 We know what their offense can do, and we'll see what happens on Thursday. That's a massive game.
Speaker 1
Hair looks amazing, Conman. Thank you very much.
I'm going to let you know. I saw it there.
It was shining. It was glistening.
It looks unbelievable. Cowboys might be for real.
Speaker 1
And I know that sports media fans don't love that. And we might fall into sports media world.
21-point comeback, the way they do it. Shawty's wearing a backward visor in the thing afterwards.
Speaker 1
And George Pickens making these plays week in and week out. It's like...
Nine for nine.
Speaker 3 Nine targets, nine catches.
Speaker 1
Filthy. Stafford started, what, 11 for 11 last time? 12, 12, 12, 11, 14, 12, 12.
Outrageous. All right, number one.
Go ahead.
Speaker 4 I was just going to say, I think there's also something very real about like playing for something bigger than everything with like after Marshawn Nealon passed away, like you saw late in the game, they're waving his flag.
Speaker 4
We saw what happened against the Raiders. Like that can galvanize an entire state almost, you know, and like Cowboys Nation.
And I think that's exactly what's happened. Yeah.
Speaker 1 And you can also, I mean, obviously that certainly perspective and we're in this thing together for our guy here. But also, whenever Micah gets traded away, they're told they're trash.
Speaker 4 Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 Basically told to Kaywin.
Speaker 1 There could be a lot of bunker mentality down there in Dallas. And the number one headline.
Speaker 1 I don't like it because we know what this is supposed to be.
Speaker 1 Okay, every time we've done this after a Colts win, number one has been the Colts are going to win the Super Bowl. Well, turns out,
Speaker 1 maybe not.
Speaker 1
Chiefs is still the Chiefs. And a lot of flags in this game.
You know, we got a lot of them. A lot of good calls.
A lot of good calls.
Speaker 1 I put put out a tweet, a lot of flags, a lot of flags is what I said. And I got a lot of people saying, but who's getting the calls?
Speaker 1
He's like, we were actually getting the calls in Kansas City against Kansas City. I think that is something that should be talked about.
But then we weren't too at times. Tough to watch this game.
Speaker 1
Tough to watch this game, especially early if you're a Colts fan. It looks easy.
Michael Pittman Jr. takes a couple hits.
Daniel Jones delivers some dimes. How are you doing? We're having a good time.
Speaker 1
7-3. Let's go ahead and get it back.
Well, Aston Dooland, actually, a guy you probably never heard of. Stud for us.
Great on special teams. Oh, yeah.
And a weapon with his speed.
Speaker 1
Yeah, he's going to go for about 30, 40, 50. And then we're going to throw it to 6'5 ⁇ , 265-pound Ogle Tree, who has the sweet feet.
It's 14-3 in Kansas City.
Speaker 1 Got Tony Romo telling me this is DEF CON 10 for the Kansas City Chiefs. Let's go to 20-9.
Speaker 1
Fourth quarter. You're up 11 against the Chiefs.
Oh, Kareem Hunt. He's going to score a touchdown.
No big deal. That's a big deal.
Speaker 1
It's all right. They're going to do that.
A two-point conversion out to make it a three-point game. Just got to get a stop.
Oh, he's wide up.
Speaker 1
No big kill. Now, listen, they weren't even able to do do their play.
They were doing against us the entire game, which is just crossing routes. These dudes were just running, crossing routes.
Speaker 1
We couldn't keep up with them. Rasheed Rice going one way.
Xavier Worthy going the other way. Rasheed Rice going one way.
Speaker 1
Xavier Worthy going the other way. This is all they did.
The whole game. The whole game.
Mooney, Sauce. We got him.
We got two corners.
Speaker 1 Well, they're in track meets because they're trying to keep up with some of the fastest guys in the league running across the field. And Patrick Mahomes and the boys get a field goal to tie it.
Speaker 1
We get the ball first. Zaire Franklin wins the toss, takes the ball first.
Tony Romo immediately points out why he wouldn't do that, but I think I'm a ball first type guy. We go three and out.
Speaker 1
What does Patrick Mahomes do? Well, just like he did at the end of the fourth quarter, worthy crossing around. I mean, it's just every time, every time.
That's all. And here's Rasheed Rice.
Speaker 1 Guess what's going to happen?
Speaker 1
Again, from the other side of the fucking field. That's all they did the whole time.
They just did it the whole time.
Speaker 1 It was very obvious, like early, like, oh, shit, we're not going to be able to keep up with these guys. They have track stars running across the field.
Speaker 1 And it's like, this is what Patrick Mahomes and this Chiefs team can be whenever they have healthy and explosive weapons. I think that's what they've shown in the past.
Speaker 1
Feels like the Colts ran into that. Harrison Buckner not only hits the game tire, the game tire that he kicked at the end of the fourth quarter, they got the ball like their four-yard line.
Yep.
Speaker 1
And they drove that thing for four minutes and 30 seconds right down the field against us. And then they kicked that game tire.
And then obviously we knew once they got the ball in the overtime.
Speaker 1 Oh, here we go again.
Speaker 1 This is Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are still the Chiefs joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, to wrap up this first 15 is an absolute legend, a Michigan man in the NFL insider that we call every week to let us know what the hell's going on.
Speaker 1 Adam Shefty.
Speaker 5 Gentlemen, what's going on?
Speaker 1
Shefty, thank you for hanging out with us. Let's hit some things that we weren't able to cover.
Baker Mayfield, AC sprain joint. That is what it came.
Speaker 1 Did he come into the game with that or did it happen last night? Feels like he was doing this often and early.
Speaker 5 Yeah, no, he's been banged up this year.
Speaker 5 I don't know exactly what was wrong going into the game, but I've been told that he had been pretty banged up all season long, more so than I think people realized.
Speaker 5
Last night, obviously, that shoulder got worse, whether it was the same injury, aggravated, whatever it was. He went down there.
They took x-rays, no fracture, nothing structurally wrong.
Speaker 5 Now, he's going for the MRI in about a half hour. 30 minutes from now, and that should tell more.
Speaker 5 But the way it was told to me, they're not ready to rule him out Sunday, which, again, you see him go down there you see him grabbing his shoulder I'm thinking like well how many weeks is this gonna be he's on the sidelines in street clothes in a sling like it looks like it's a multiple week injury to me but in speaking to them today
Speaker 1 they say they're not ready to rule him out for Sunday and they think there's a chance he could wind up playing we'll see what happens with the MRI we know baker may feel just like a ram truck he's damn tough I mean that is just a matter of fact and it felt like he was doing that early last night that's why I thought maybe came into is something.
Speaker 1
And they wouldn't let him play if there was any structural damage. So it felt like a sprain in there.
Incredibly painful. Obviously, Baker's tough.
We hope we get a chance to see him tough outings.
Speaker 1 Speaking of tough outings, let's talk about New England's win yesterday.
Speaker 4 Yeah, Chef D, left tackle, Will Campbell and left guard.
Speaker 1 Jared Wilson both hurt.
Speaker 4 Will Campbell knee, Jared Wilson, ankle. What are we looking at as far as timetables? And are both these guys going to hopefully be able to come back?
Speaker 5 Yeah, I think, well, Rabel today talked about the fact that they don't, he doesn't think it's season ending.
Speaker 5 and I think if you look at the schedule I wouldn't expect that either player would play a week from tonight against the New York Giants on Monday night football but the Patriots have their bye in week 14 the week after so I think at the very least you give these guys they don't play Monday they get the bye week off and then you're re-evaluating them in two weeks to see whether or not they can get back out there.
Speaker 5 It sounds like it's going to be a little bit longer on Will Campbell. We'll see how it all shakes out.
Speaker 5 Not a great day for the left side of the Patriots offensive line, but again, it doesn't sound like it's long-term for either player.
Speaker 1 Okay, we're happy to hear that, especially because those are two young guys in that team, obviously, up and to the right. Let's talk about a little bit of an older gent, the oldest gent, actually.
Speaker 1 Go ahead, Tom.
Speaker 2
Yeah, Chef D. Aaron Rodgers, obviously that left wrist.
We saw him practicing last week before the Bears game.
Speaker 2 I was told he took all the first-team reps on Friday for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and then he does not go on Sunday. Whose
Speaker 2 was it the doctor's decision? Because we were told Aaron wanted to go. What was the situation there?
Speaker 5 Well, my understanding was that Aaron did want to play. He was pushing to play all week long, and that the doctors were obviously more cautious and guarded.
Speaker 5 I think ultimately, in the end, the doctors and Mike Tomlin make the call about whether or not he's going to go, and they decided on Saturday to hold him out of the game.
Speaker 5 Some of the players didn't know until Sunday pre-game exactly what was going to happen, but they made the decision on Saturday to start Mason Rudolph.
Speaker 5
And they also made it sound like they think Rodgers could be back this upcoming week. It sounds like that is real possible, that he has a real possibility of playing on Sunday.
They need him back.
Speaker 5
They lost yesterday. You know, he's really impressed them this year, just the way he's carried himself, his toughness, the whole thing.
And I would think that he is back this week.
Speaker 1 Man, the landlord definitely wanted to go back home maybe for one last trip.
Speaker 1 We'll be excited to see what ends up happening for the rest of the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers and his career. You know what ends up going on?
Speaker 1
Tough loss to the Chicago Bears, who might be for real. Let's talk about somebody for real being out next week and the week following and the week following and the week following.
Moves in Las Vegas.
Speaker 1 Go ahead, D.
Speaker 3
Bud. Yeah, Chip Kelly came over from the Ohio State Buckeyes after winning the national championship.
Highest paid coordinator now fired for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 3 I just want to know, is Pete Carroll safe after this season? What are your thoughts and vibes going on in Vegas right now?
Speaker 5
Look, well, Pete Carroll's never fired an assistant coach in season. in his entire time in Seattle.
And now they fired two different coordinators here in about two plus weeks.
Speaker 5 They fired their special teams coach and now they fired Chip Kelly last night.
Speaker 5 Look, I think it's clear like nobody seems to be safe right now out there in the coaching staff. I think everything's up in the air.
Speaker 5 I think the season has not gone the way that a lot of people would have hoped. It's been disappointing in a lot of different ways.
Speaker 5 You lose to the Browns at home like that, give up 10 sacks, everything's going to be called into question.
Speaker 1 Let's talk about the Browns. Kevin Stefanski kind of, why did he do that? Why did he just come out and say, hey, this is cool?
Speaker 1 I'll tell you why.
Speaker 1 Why did he just say this boy? Is this first rookie since when? To win her?
Speaker 3 1995 to win their debut for the Browns.
Speaker 1 And I know he didn't go for 300 or whatever. And stats are time.
Speaker 1 We're trying to find, you know, it's hard to find all that, but still, at quarterback, the position, the vibe to win a game like that, especially for Cleveland.
Speaker 1
Now, granted, he's saying a lot of things that people are like, relax. Okay, you need to run.
But that's not Shador.
Speaker 1
Like, that is not what Shador is, which could be exactly what Cleveland Browns need, which is actually what he said in his pregame interview. Before his first start, he's getting interviewed.
Okay.
Speaker 1 I don't even know how that would happen. A fifth round pick, a fresh rookie quarterback, right before his first ever start, he's getting a pregame interview.
Speaker 1 I don't know if that's ever happened for anybody ever before or would ever happen again. And she goes, what are you trying to prove or show here to your fans, your team, and everything?
Speaker 1
I'm who they've been waiting for or something like that. It's like, what a fucking bar right there before you go out there.
Now, I'm not saying they're going to go undefeated with him.
Speaker 1
I'm not saying they're going to win next week. What I am saying, though, is felt like Stefansky just, there wasn't a single moment of like, yeah, that was a good moment for our team.
Why is that?
Speaker 1 And a lot of people are wondering that, Shefty.
Speaker 5 Yeah, well, listen, I think,
Speaker 5
and I know a lot of people are up in arms with the way Kevin Stefansky has treated Shador Sanders. I think he's been quietly supportive behind the scenes.
Like, he's worked with him every single day.
Speaker 5 He supports.
Speaker 5 This is not a personal thing. People saying, well, why didn't he name him the starter after the game? Well, how about, how about, like, does anybody think Shador is is not going to start this week?
Speaker 5 I think we all do, but give the head coach some time to go back, look at the film, talk to the staff, talk to the players.
Speaker 5 How about letting Dylan Gabriel know, hey, we're going to take another look at Shador this week before you announce it to the press after the game? Like, there's little steps that you have to follow.
Speaker 5
Everybody wanted him to be anointed right after the game. And I can't imagine that he wouldn't start this upcoming week.
That, to me, would be a surprise considering that they won the game.
Speaker 5 He played well. A little bit of momentum.
Speaker 3 Nice to see.
Speaker 5 You saw Miles Garrett's reaction after that long pass. That might have been the first long pass he's seen in Cleveland in the last decade.
Speaker 1 So, I mean, he was like, Oh my god, that's what happens when you complete a long pass?
Speaker 5 Wow, exciting. So, I think he starts, but I don't think Kevin Sabanski had to come out and say that after the game yesterday.
Speaker 1
All right, all right, I appreciate you. You're the best.
We'll talk to you uh tomorrow, man. Ladies and gentlemen, senior NFL insider for ESPN, Adam Scheffteric.

Football! Today's the greatest. We're lucky to talk about it.
And obviously, the Sunday slate for the week 12 NFL season was spectacular.
Speaker 1 A few overtime games, a massive comeback, some super duper special, special teams, which is obviously amazing.
Speaker 1 And tonight, week 12 wraps up in Santa Clara, California, as the San Francisco 49ers will host the Carolina Panthers as seven and a half point favorites. Now, this Carolina team's young and good.
Speaker 1
And we say young because we don't know any of them really. You know, like Bryce Young, he gets drafted into the NFL out of Alabama.
This guy's the Steph Curry of football.
Speaker 1
He's got an incredible sense of feeling. His explosive plays are outrageous.
Then he comes in a little, he looks small, he gets beat up, and they stink.
Speaker 1
Everybody says, this guy is not going to be able to be good. He actually gets benched at one point.
Andy Dalton goes in.
Speaker 1 Then Bryce Young last year goes back in after watching Andy Dalton, maybe getting a refresh button, reset button with Canalis as the head coach and a play caller.
Speaker 1 Before that was at Tampa with baker mayfield did what he did and bryce young and them have kind of built a culture they've kind of built an identity and they've got wins that none of us really would have expected getting seven and a half points against the san francisco 49ers team that is obviously one week removed from brock purdy coming back and putting on an absolute clinic with all the weapons that they have defenses without bosa and fred warner but
Speaker 1
Still been able to kind of halt people whenever they need to. The Niners could potentially go in and win a Super Bowl this year.
They got money in a lot of different places.
Speaker 1 Tough injuries, but still a lot of money in a lot of different places, especially ones that you need. George Kittle, we can obviously assume that he'll be dancing tonight in the paint.
Speaker 1
And then Juice, we'll assume he'll be doing some stuff. Christian McCaffrey will be explosive.
The San Francisco 49ers team, go win a Super Bowl. Sure.
Speaker 1
We'll find out tonight if they can handle the Carolina Panthers. And his Carolina Panthers team could tell the world tonight.
We're actually a real team.
Speaker 1 We're not the joke that you guys thought we have been. We're not the team whose owner is throwing ice on people anymore.
Speaker 1 Or the owner who, on his drive to work, local stores are using using their signs to say terrible things about. We're not that team anymore.
Speaker 1 We are a team where our owner actually donated the entire stadium and everything to Hurricane Relief Fund. He actually tries to take care of the community.
Speaker 1
Now he's giving back, staying hands off the football thing. We got a general manager, Dan.
Morgan,
Speaker 1 who I don't think he's blinked since becoming
Speaker 1 the Carolina Panthers general manager, former linebacker for Miami. Okay, yes, the U is where he was a linebacker.
Speaker 1 And he has not shut his eyes one time until this Carolina Panther team could be a team that he would like to say, I'm the one to put this together. Canalis, the head coach, he's doing his thing.
Speaker 1
They are a team. So are the Niners, obviously.
Toxic tables here at Bussy Conner and Attai Schmidt. One out of the hammer.
Speaker 1 Cowboys, AP Tony's here. What was that stat? About 60% of the bets? What's everybody seeing tonight?
Speaker 2
Yeah, teams this weekend that were getting 60% or more of the bets against the spread were 2-7-1. And tonight, the Niners.
Against the spread. Yes, against the spread.
Sorry.
Speaker 2 Tonight, the Niners would fall into that category. They're at at 61, 62%, somewhere around there.
Speaker 1 Nine-year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler, your thoughts on the numbers we just heard.
Speaker 1 And it's not just 2-7-1 this week, D.
Speaker 3 But yeah, it's been, it feels like almost like it would get worse, which I don't love.
Speaker 1 But I think it's going to be, I think we're in for a banger tonight.
Speaker 3 It's a big game for both of these teams.
Speaker 3 Obviously, both the winning records, fighting for the, yeah, to get kind of obviously after Rams, what they did, the Niners got to stay in contention with that NFC West.
Speaker 3 So I think we were due for a banger tonight.
Speaker 1 The The Irish Ooes.
Speaker 1 I think he had the team at 130 or 140 last week.
Speaker 1 He's got a hilarious catch radius, this guy.
Speaker 1 He is fun to watch. And Bryce Young, everything they said about him, turns out if he's not just getting crushed every point, he does.
Speaker 1 He does operate an offense
Speaker 1 pretty damn good. His arm down special.
Speaker 4 Crazy how that worked. And they move into first place in the division if they win.
Speaker 1 And the NFC South? Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 2 Banged up Acre.
Speaker 1 Oh,
Speaker 1
seven and a half. The time is now.
That feels like a lot of points. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who's a college football national champion, Super Bowl champion, rider crip winner.
Speaker 1
Massive Dan Morgan fan. Ladies and gentlemen, A.J.
Hawk. Yeah,
Speaker 5
you're right. I am a massive Dan Morgan fan, have been for a long time.
It's no surprise that he has Carolina kind of rolling in the right direction.
Speaker 1
Yeah, it feels like he's got a culture in place. Rico Daudo, also very explosive weapon in the backfield.
Let's talk about the San Francisco 49ers team, though.
Speaker 1 We just saw Brock, and we actually had a a train.
Speaker 1 I think the last time we did this was like the Brock Purdy train is back and everybody's happy, you know, and it's like Shanahan was in there doing this thing. The rest of the offense was behind him.
Speaker 1 And it's like, this is why Brock Purdy got paid a couple hundred million dollars to play quarterback in this system. Yes, people have been good with Shanahan.
Speaker 1 Brock Purdy seemingly better than everybody else because his decision making, his ball placement, everything about him screams. and radiates the Shanahan offense.
Speaker 1 And then, you know, we immediately see seven and a half points with a shiny shiny new object, and we go, whoa, wait a minute. I like this Carolina Panthers team.
Speaker 1 I don't know if a lot of people know about this Carolina Panthers team. What are your thoughts on tonight's game as we wrap up week 12 of the NFL Slate?
Speaker 5 I mean, you're right.
Speaker 5 Purdy and Kiddo obviously have a great connection with Juice Check, and then you throw CMC in there. Yeah, their offense is definitely something that it's not easy to stop, but I don't know.
Speaker 5 Like seven and a half definitely feels like a lot.
Speaker 5 I feel like Carolina people have, I don't know, is it a recency bias of like the last couple years or they just don't, they don't think that Carolina and Bryce Young can get it done.
Speaker 5
But I mean, Ted McMillan, that guy has been awesome all year long. Like you said, Dowdle.
I'm going to have a hard time here with this one tonight.
Speaker 5 I don't know which way I'm leaning, but I'm probably leaning Carolina if I had to tell you right now.
Speaker 1
Okay, that's good news because you are seeing it right now. I don't know if you know this.
We talked about this the first hour. 9-3-3-1 on weekend, Agent.
Wow. Solid.
Speaker 5 I was glad to turn on the program and see this. I was glad that
Speaker 5
I really didn't know. I wasn't sure.
I thought I could have had, it was one of those games with all the, the spreads were so big. It was one of of those weeks where I, who knows which way it goes.
Speaker 1
Yeah, it was a great Sunday slate, though. Had a couple overtime games.
Obviously, the massive comeback. Let's talk about the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles from your perspective.
Speaker 1
Obviously, that Dallas Cowboys defense just turns off the host. Just says, nope, I don't think so anymore.
What an impressive bunch of stops that they had, obviously, late.
Speaker 1 And then Philadelphia Eagles,
Speaker 1 are we?
Speaker 5 Tough to play with a lead, man. It's tough to play with a lead, I guess, huh?
Speaker 1 Is it? I don't know.
Speaker 1 It'd be cool to be able to do that. But I do know whenever some of these stats come out, and I'm not saying now that 21-zip is outrageous in this state of college football.
Speaker 1 It does feel like we're getting bigger comebacks than maybe ever before because of the talent level on the offensive side and the rules, maybe in the style of game and everything like that.
Speaker 1 But there's always these stats that come out. Like teams that were in this position were 4,001 or whatever.
Speaker 1 It's like, it's not like sometimes whenever we see these big leads, it's like the reason why it's such a big deal is because normally these teams win.
Speaker 1 Philadelphia Eagles feel like a team that should win a game whenever whenever they're up 21-0, especially against a rival, especially at this time of the year. Thanksgiving is in three days.
Speaker 1
Happy Thanksgiving week, everybody. Happy Thanksgiving.
So it's like you would think that this team would be able to put a team away, especially with who they are.
Speaker 1
I mean, this team is the Super Bowl champs. This team is the Philadelphia Eagles.
They're expected to do their thing.
Speaker 1 Multiple MVP type conversations, multiple number one wide receivers, a defense that has been menacing to everybody for the last couple of years with Vic Fangio on the call.
Speaker 1
And then they just seemingly collapse, age. And you have to wonder, and I don't like doing this, there's so much drama in this team, man.
So much drama.
Speaker 1 So once that thing starts going the other way, like, is there enough to like kind of stop it and go the other way? You know what I mean, AJ?
Speaker 1 Like, I don't love all of the shit that goes on with their team, just in general. I think it's too much distraction to win football, but they won a Super Bowl in the middle of it all.
Speaker 1
So it's like they kind of debunk all that. But it is like all that drama.
At some point, it shows up. I'm not saying yesterday, but maybe it was yesterday.
That play right here.
Speaker 5
Geez, that play right there was gigantic. Unbelievable.
Way to retrace and track him down and just a beautiful punch on the ball. There's not a whole lot Saquon could do about that.
Speaker 1
Okay, so on the play, but how about on the entirety of the Philadelphia Eagles, AJ? I just talked for a while. My bad.
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 I get distracted by great defensive plays.
Speaker 1 These Cowboys were doing it. Second match.
Speaker 5
Offense, defense, especially in special teams. We know that.
It's a full team game. Here we go, Fluce.
Remember a couple weeks ago?
Speaker 5 Talked about him showing signs of life on the sidelines and getting all jacked up. I think he's starting to feel it a little bit right now.
Speaker 5 Okay, so you're more pro Cowboys than the eagles worried is what it's like eagles are a weird situation like it is a weird thing and when the cowboys went down and scored right before half you're thinking like all right uh you know now we got it going into half even though you have a 21-7 lead the momentum has kind of flipped to the other team to the home squad and i think dak is a great like uh you know calming influence that makes plays but this eagles team i don't know i don't i don't fully get it maybe they feed off the chaos the drama all that but at some point i guess it gets to like a tipping point to where you can't really i don't know you just don't find a way to win games like this that you should win.
Speaker 1
Exactly. And when you win, by the way, it all just kind of, ah, they're winning.
We even say it like, hey, they got all this shit going on that nobody else really has going on. Doesn't matter.
Speaker 1
They're winning. And they're the Super Bowl champs.
They can do whatever. Obviously, you lose this one, especially up 21.
It's going to grow a little bit. It's going to get louder.
Speaker 1 But if they were to lose a couple games in a row, it'd be like, is this team lost it? Whatever it was. That worries me.
Speaker 1 We've seen teams in the past have locker room struggles and completely change it. And I'm not going to speak
Speaker 1
from anything other than my own experiences as a fan. The Indiana Pacers, okay, they're playing the Heatles.
You remember those days? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
That whole team? Yep.
Speaker 1
I mean, everybody on that team. Roy, Paul, Lance, George.
I mean, you just, you go through that roster. They were awesome to watch.
Awesome to watch. Something happens.
Speaker 1
Still don't know. I outside locker room do not know.
Something definitely happened in locker room. Team
Speaker 1
dead. Everybody's gone.
Never happens again. Personal, something happened in the locker room with either disagreements or not liking or something like that.
Speaker 1 It's like that locker room, is there ever going to be sympotical? You know, and I think you need that. But they proved, I guess, last year that you don't need that.
Speaker 1 But it's like, I think you need like,
Speaker 1 I think you need high morale amongst the boys, especially in a long-ass NFL season.
Speaker 1 And that's why I guess they can just say we won last year with this type of stuff happening, but it's always loud over there. And I don't, I don't know how they operate within it, to be honest.
Speaker 3 Yeah, you definitely got to like each other. I just hate how much, I guess, we know or we hear about what's going on in the locker room.
Speaker 3 I think Jason Kelsey came out this past weekend, or maybe it was an older podcast, something he recorded, but he talked about how he kind of fell out with Lane Johnson.
Speaker 3
I think they didn't speak for like an entire offseason. They're like damn near brothers.
So, like, shit like that happens. Everybody's not going to be best friends every day.
Speaker 3 But this is a team that has been to Super Bowl in the last three or four years.
Speaker 3 So we're, you know, sitting here, you know, towards Thanksgiving where, hey, this is where teams kind of start to show who they are down the stretch.
Speaker 3 And I still think we're going to see this from the eagles because of the talent they have but just very similar to like stillers fans and they can look at their team and look at the record and know okay that is either winning football or it's not same with the eagles like with saquon you got a 21 point lead and he has 10 carries for 22 yards Like that's insane.
Speaker 3
He hasn't been running the ball well this entire season. Like until they find their stride there, I think Jalen Hurts, he can throw the ball.
A.J. Brown can be great.
Devontae Smith can be great.
Speaker 3
But that's kind of the backbone of who they are. We're going to out-physical you up front.
We're going to play great defense, and then we're going to hit explosive plays when we need to.
Speaker 3 And they haven't been doing that, but they've still been winning games up to this point. I'm still, you know, I still have the utmost confidence in the Eagles down the stretch.
Speaker 1
Okay, I don't know if I do anymore. Just, I don't know.
I love their team. I appreciate the fact that they're able to somehow remain focused with all this shit always happening around them.
Speaker 1
And they're Super Bowl champs for a reason. There's some stats coming out now.
Lane Johnson, remember, playing or fascia, I believe, sprain, which is the lining of your foot.
Speaker 1 I believe, really, it's very painful. Since 2013, when he plays 120, 62, and one, when he doesn't play 15, 25.
Speaker 1 So going back to your point about running the ball and everything like that, whenever they have a great offensive line, which they had obviously last year, best in the league, they can win.
Speaker 1
They do a lot of damage. This year, without Lane Johnson, it doesn't work.
And what is Landon's last name?
Speaker 4 It is Dickerson with a D.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 5 Why? Why do you ask?
Speaker 1
No, I just didn't know. I've been hearing different things.
I just, I didn't, what a moment. Whoa.
Speaker 1 Oh.
Speaker 1
Immediate sweating of the mouth. Oh, yeah.
I believe. Immediate, immediate sweating of the mouth.
Probably a couple of drips. Never saw that guy sweat one time playing football.
Nope.
Speaker 1
It didn't seem always perfect. I assume when that happened, there was at least one or two.
There was just kind of moistness coming up here. The mouth just, oh my God.
Speaker 1 That's it.
Speaker 1 That's it.
Speaker 1 You see, his name.
Speaker 1 Oh.
Speaker 1
Let's move along and hope he doesn't get on camera again. Let's just keep it moving.
Landon Dickerson.
Speaker 1
Hell of a player. Yeah.
Oh, yeah. Hell of a football.
Stalk. Hell of a football player.
Eagles led 21-0 and lost outright to the Cowboys. Obviously, you saw this analytics.
Speaker 1
I don't know what any of this means. I don't know what any of this means.
It's hard for me to tell.
Speaker 1 I guess it just goes from like at this point of a game when a team was up like this much, this is what the outcome was, and then it kind of changes. So
Speaker 1 to your point about, yeah,
Speaker 1
thanks. In history, if you're leading by this much, with this much time left, here's your odds to win.
Here's the percentage. All right.
Joining us now is a man who might have the stats.
Speaker 1
We don't know. Maybe.
He's an Emmy Award winner. That's right.
Ladies and gentlemen, a man who knows everything about everywhere. Peter Schrager.
Yeah, Schrager.
Speaker 1
Hey, good haircut. I think you cut it a little bit shorter.
It looks good. He looked very spry on TV this morning, brother.
Speaker 6 I cleaned it up a little bit, and I knew I was coming on your show, so I made sure I got pretty, baby.
Speaker 1
Let's go. Oh, get pretty.
I like that. We appreciate that, obviously.
We're talking about the Philadelphia Eagles right now. Obviously, Dallas Cowboys, incredible comeback.
Wow. We saw the graphic.
Speaker 1 Man,
Speaker 1 no change here whenever that was out was 21-0 or whatever, not able to really do much until right before half when George Picken scores the touchdown. But the Dallas Cowboys could be all the way back.
Speaker 1
They got a road. They got a path.
And Jerry Jones believes they can make the playoffs. I assume they do as well.
Happy for Shoddy. Happy for Dak.
What a comeback win.
Speaker 1
For the Philadelphia Eagles, though, it's just so loud all the time. They thrive in that.
Like, that's kind of AJ's take. AJ's like, maybe they thrive in the chaos.
Maybe they need the controversy.
Speaker 1 And maybe that's just how that job is. Do we think that's weighing into anything that's happening with their team?
Speaker 1 Or do we strictly believe maybe that like Petula maybe doesn't understand what he needs to do as much. It's his first year as offensive coordinator.
Speaker 1 How do you kind of view the Philadelphia Eagles and what we saw yesterday and what we're seeing as a whole with them?
Speaker 6 Yeah, you can't take away those wins that they've had.
Speaker 6 So those are in their back pocket and those are over the Rams and over the Bucks and over the Cowboys one time, but then the Chiefs in Arrowhead and the Packers in Lambo.
Speaker 6
So like those are in their back pocket. But it's fair to question what the hell is going on with the the offense.
They were up 21-0. And it's like, all right, they're on all cylinders going.
Speaker 6
Since that point yesterday, they only totaled 107 yards and they never advanced past the Cowboys' 38-yard line. They had three three and outs.
They fumbled the ball.
Speaker 6
They missed a field goal and they committed so many penalties. And here's what I'll say about Kevin Petulo.
He comes from that Frank Reich tree. He comes there from Nick Siriani.
What?
Speaker 6
When he was with Phil Rivers and they were with the Colts, they used to to throw the ball all over the yard. And Siriani and Reich likes to throw the ball.
They used to do motion.
Speaker 6 You're not seeing any of it. You're seeing basically, can AJ and Devontae go one-on-one? Can they make their plays? Can Saquon break a tackle? And that's the offense.
Speaker 6 This is not a guy who just woke up and was handed the job here. This is a guy who's had a career learning about offenses and designing offenses.
Speaker 6 And I don't think it's necessarily by design that this is the offense that it is.
Speaker 6 It seems like maybe this is what he thinks is their best chance to win, given what they've got at the quarterback spot and what they've got going with offense.
Speaker 6
Like, trust me, he knows how to do all the stuff that we see, all the bells and whistles. They're not even trying it.
So, that's the red flag to me.
Speaker 6 Like, why not give this offense a chance to do something creative? Why not give this offense a chance to run some of the exotic stuff that his offenses have run before?
Speaker 1
Yeah, it feels like it's very loud around that offense, mostly. But, Philly, maybe this is how the Johns operate down there.
And we know Nick Siriani is the guy that can handle it all, right?
Speaker 1
Last year, there was A.J. Brown chatter.
There was other conversation. When they won the Super Bowl, two wide receivers are the ones dumping a Gatorade.
Speaker 1 I think that sends a big message, as does every cryptic tweet that A.J. Brown puts up.
Speaker 3 Yeah. Siriani and
Speaker 1
Big Dom. Exactly.
People are saying Big Dom needs to take Petulo down there to a local spot and not bring him back.
Speaker 1
That's what they're saying. Whoa, seeing that.
I saw a couple of tweets from people. They're like, what does Big Dom actually do? Is he trying to take care of the Eagles?
Speaker 1 Well, why doesn't he take care of petulo then and that could potentially be something for the good of the entire city you saw tom playing catch with aj brown yes you see who was two feet away from tom who is that big dom
Speaker 1 i was like of course i was watching i'm like of course
Speaker 4 big dom orchestrated this entire thing making sure not giving away information i was playing catch with aj he's got some of the organ ducking that should be against the rules i was gonna say that's a bit of a conflict of interest still looks good yeah he does he said it was nice to see it come out of hand you know a little bit actually whenever he was talking about it aj brown also noted uh huge patriots fan growing up so i assume this this was like a childhood memory moment for A.J.
Speaker 1 Brown. And I'm sure A.J.
Speaker 1 Brown thought of some cryptic tweets to put out while he was playing catch with Tom, or some other people did, at least as soon as they saw this, go, oh no, this means post-game.
Speaker 1 It was nice in warm-ups to be able to catch a well-thrown football. You know,
Speaker 1
something like that. That's all I thought of.
That's all I thought of when I was watching it. I'm like, oh, no, Big Dom better get to the bottom of that.
Also, why is Big Dom?
Speaker 1 Of course, Big Dom's here. People in Philly are saying, Big Dom, let's go ahead and not just, you know, play a little hanky-panky with Tom Brady.
Speaker 1 Let's also maybe go over to Petulo and say, hey, we need to go get some,
Speaker 1 let's go get some Mozero.
Speaker 1 Let's go see.
Speaker 4 Got some Cinderblocks to move.
Speaker 1 Let's go see you do, actually. Yeah.
Speaker 1
All right, let's move along. Philadelphia Eagles, interesting spot.
AJ has a question for you, Shregs.
Speaker 5 Shregs, what about the Rams and Matthew Stafford? We know that you're tied into that whole organization, that franchise, Sean McVay. What do you think?
Speaker 5 Are they playing their best ball? Are we about to see this team get even better? Because Matt Stafford looks very healthy, very comfortable.
Speaker 5 Obviously, Puka, Puka, the weapons, Devontae, what's your outlook for this Rams team right now?
Speaker 6 You just hope they're not peaking too early. What they're doing right now is a historic, historic
Speaker 6
run through the NFL. Listen to this stat I got today.
They have not trailed since first quarter of the Baltimore game.
Speaker 6 That's five games and three quarters since they've been behind by any points at all.
Speaker 6 And that's against five teams that are currently in the playoffs, the Ravens, the Jags, the Saints, the Niners, the Seahawks, the Bucks. They don't trail.
Speaker 6 Stafford, you saw 25 touchdowns, zero interceptions is the pace he's on right now. He's got 30 and two on the year.
Speaker 6 And Devontae Adams seems to be going into the time machine and looks as good as he's ever looked. Then you go to the defensive side of the ball and they're menaces.
Speaker 6 They were all over Baker Mayfield and Teddy Bridgewater last night.
Speaker 6 And I tweeted today about Emmanuel Forbes, who is a guy that, you know, Ron Rivera took in the first round in Washington and was released by the Commanders.
Speaker 6 Meanwhile, yesterday, he had seven targets at him and there were zero passes passes completed. Emmanuel Forbes is playing like he's one of the best corners in all of football right now.
Speaker 6 This team is working on all cylinders and then you get Thicker the kicker, who they had in yesterday.
Speaker 6
This guy doesn't miss either. So now you've got all three facets and you've got your special teams issues seemingly taken care of.
I don't know. AJ, I look at it.
It's like.
Speaker 6 You just don't want to peak too soon because they are doing everything you could possibly want to do. It just might be a little too early right now.
Speaker 5
I guess. I don't know if you're needing me or not, if you're looking for for a response, not Shakespeare's, but I feel like you can peak too soon.
Just stay healthy.
Speaker 5 If you can find a way to keep your key guys healthy, you're going to be fine. Shrikes.
Speaker 1 Look at that. Weirdest dude.
Speaker 6 That was TV. That was TV, Pat.
Speaker 5 Yeah, I know. He said to my name.
Speaker 1
I thought so. I thought, yeah, I thought he was trying to throw it over to you there.
AJ said, listen, I agree with everything you're saying. I agree with everything you're saying.
Speaker 1 But it is, it's fascinating. Shout out to Harrison Beavis.
Speaker 1 I think he went to Missouri, if I do recall. Obviously, throughout college, became
Speaker 1 the thicker kicker, kicker, the thicker, whatever it is, because he's a big lad he's a big lad pure slings yesterday pure ball flight wearing number 92 respect i don't like that mcvey did that to him or or whatever the case was but we're talking like smooth smooth ball flight and uh i'm happy for him i'm also happy for matthew stafford and we talked about in the first hour you might know a little bit more i listened what was that super duper trailer park thing you went into there immortal yeah what is that what is the immortal do you know that was from training camp and everyone was making jokes like all right what is going to happen with this thing i think uh sales have to be going up tenfold since the way he started the season.
Speaker 6
I have no idea what that thing is. I will tell you this.
I was hosting Get Up in late August, and the debate we were having was,
Speaker 6 should the Rams go with Jimmy Garoppolo to start the season over Matthew Stafford? And it was a legitimate debate because we hadn't seen Stafford take the field yet.
Speaker 6 And it was like, do you put a guy in? And then Collinsworth last night is like, you know, I'm not going to do a Collinsworth impression, but basically Collinsworth was saying,
Speaker 1 they weren't sure. Could you, though, do you have one guard back?
Speaker 6 You know, let me try this.
Speaker 1 Let me close my eyes. Let me try to
Speaker 1 because I remember him talking about it. I think you remember talking about it.
Speaker 6
And you ask Matthew about it, and he says, you know, we start getting at this thing. I'll give it a shot.
I'll try. And sure enough, here we are in week 12.
He's having a career year at 37.
Speaker 5 Yeah, that was good. Yeah, mute TV.
Speaker 1
I didn't hear it. I didn't hear it.
Did it come through for you guys? Yeah.
Speaker 1
500 broadcasts. That's the gift you get.
I don't know if I heard it about it. But yeah, you're right.
Collinsworth did talk about it.
Speaker 1 I do recall him chatting about it, especially with the back position at the age that he was. There was a lot of questions.
Speaker 1
We were talking about the A Mortal trailer as well at the time because he was supposed to come back and then he wasn't. And then he was supposed to be in pads.
He was in shorts.
Speaker 1 And it was like, wait a minute, this seems a little bit scary. And I think at that point, they didn't really know either what was going to happen because it is the back position.
Speaker 1 You don't really know.
Speaker 6
Talking to those guys, there was not a, it wasn't arrogance, but it was a bit of like, dude, like, relax. It's August.
He's 37. Just he'll be fine.
Speaker 6
And then it got to like week two of the preseason, then week three of the preseason. And I'm talking to McVay in the front office.
Like, those are the guys. And they're like, just calm down.
Speaker 6
Like, we're good. We're good.
And so they had the utmost confidence. And yet, you know, I think it's fair to question when a quarterback doesn't take a single rep during practice in July and August.
Speaker 6
And they did the intercamp scrimmages with the Cowboys. And from all anyone who was there was saying was Jimmy G looked amazing.
It was like, do you start the season with Jimmy G?
Speaker 6 It sounds so crazy now because Stafford is the runaway MVP and looks better than he ever has.
Speaker 6 It's almost a commercial for everyone saying, take July and August off as long as you're, you know, like you don't, don't throw yourself out in training camps.
Speaker 1 Yeah, yeah, no doubt. Waste of conversation, but it's always good to have the conversation, especially if it's all we have at the moment, which is what we do in the middle of training camp.
Speaker 1 And Matthew Stafford then carried us for a couple of weeks, too.
Speaker 1 I mean, we were looking into that entirety because
Speaker 1
we have so much respect. We were very worried.
I was very worried, especially with how old he is. His back.
And yeah, we've seen other guys, especially with the back
Speaker 1
golf. You know, we just saw it with LeBron, yeah.
All these, the back is always one that's like kind of unpredictable. Them having the confidence that he was going to come back.
Speaker 1
And then talking about how he's playing, it's like better than ever. And he's got Devontae Adams who can just shake and have a two-way go.
And then he's the runaway MVP favorite.
Speaker 1
You said it's kind of clear at this point. And then he is the number one scoring defense in the NFL.
They're only giving up 16.3 points per game. It's like, what?
Speaker 1 That's cool.
Speaker 6
I think the, oh, Hembo, hello. The biggest differential.
between like interceptions and touchdowns in a season was Aaron Rodgers in 2020. What's up, Ty? He went 48 touchdowns, five interceptions.
Speaker 6 Stafford right now is 30 touchdowns, two interceptions, and he can maybe make that. And the one common thread between those, Devontae Adams was the receiver for both those guys.
Speaker 1
Yeah. And Devontae said he's having fun playing football.
How could you not? You got to shake a guy and score a touchdown. Sound good? Yep.
We'll do that all damn night.
Speaker 1
And Matthew Stafford never misses. Okay, let's talk about another quarterback who obviously we all love.
Go ahead, Debu.
Speaker 3 Yeah, I feel like everything we're talking about with the Rams right now, we probably expected to be talking about with the Ravens kind of coming into the season. Maybe Lamar being an MVP favorite.
Speaker 3
Maybe this team dominate on both sides of the ball, but that's not been the case. You know, they got a win against the Jets sitting in six and five right now.
Probably going to win that division.
Speaker 3 But what's your thoughts on the Ravens right now and kind of how it's going to play out for them down the stretch?
Speaker 6 Sorry.
Speaker 6
I think, Debut, like Belichick used to say, like the season starts at Thanksgiving. It really does for the Ravens.
They're right there, obviously, with the Steelers.
Speaker 6 And if they win the division, they get in the tournament. But if they are to make a run, look at this stretch they have coming up.
Speaker 6 They got the Bengals and Joe Burrow this weekend, Thanksgiving night, obviously, national TV. Then they play Pittsburgh, Cincinnati again, then New England, then at Green Bay, at Pittsburgh.
Speaker 6 So it's almost too soon for us to make a judgment on the 2025 Ravens in week 12 when you've got that slate.
Speaker 6 Again, Bengals twice, Steelers twice, Patriots, Packers in the Packers game in Lambeau on December 27th.
Speaker 6 So to me, it's like i've seen the teams get hot and go on the run i've followed the 07 giants when they went as a sixth seed and they won it all i saw the 2010 packers with aj hawk go on as a sixth seed win it all like this could be that team they're going to maybe win the division that might be how they get strength their way biggest eye roll of all time from aj on this back wall you didn't like that to even compare him no i think he just he didn't know that you were going to mention them i think so it wasn't an eye roll it was more of like a side look and it was on this back wall here foxley can you show the back wall it was perfect for us.
Speaker 1 I don't think you expected to do because that Giants team always gets talked about.
Speaker 6 But did I not even give you the name mention? Like, I didn't just say, like, the two 2010 Packers, I gave you that love too.
Speaker 1 Oh, I said Ryan Grant, yeah, okay.
Speaker 5 Oh, yeah, you're right, you know, yes, Trace, you know, it all. I was not, I didn't roll my eyes, I don't know what it looked like, but yeah, I appreciate it.
Speaker 1
No, I think he was surprised that you mentioned him. I think he was very surprised that you mentioned him.
That's what I would say. We obviously, AJ's AJ's got a look, you know, to him.
Speaker 1 So, whenever that changes, especially whenever, hold on, you just talked about our team.
Speaker 6 I i don't know that team never gets talked about in this conversation trains ever yeah one of the hottest teams ever was that packers team that came roaring down the stretch and then obviously won the super bowl in dallas that's what the ravens if the ravens make the playoffs they're going to have to go through this gauntlet and win these games so we're going to all be high on the ravens and if they don't win their division, it's because they couldn't get it done and they couldn't make it in.
Speaker 6
But they're probably not making it as a wild card. They're going to make it as a division winner.
So I say all that. The season hasn't even really begun for them.
Speaker 6 And Lamar's health is a real question. The fact that he had 30 yards rushing, the fact that he can't, you know, do what he's used to do right now.
Speaker 6 And now the grind of December is about to hit and the grind of January is about to hit, does he suddenly find that step? I don't know.
Speaker 6 So it's going to be really interesting to see what version of them we get over these next few weeks. And I do not take Thursday night with Joe Burrow coming into MNT lightly.
Speaker 6 I think Joe Burrow coming off the injury, playing against them on national television is something that I would be seriously concerned about if I'm a Ravens fan.
Speaker 1
Vet news has broke. Joe Burrow will be playing on Thanksgiving against the Baltimore Ravens.
We're talking about AFC North Magic to cap off a beautiful Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 Let's talk about the AFC a little bit more. Go ahead, Tone.
Speaker 2 Yeah, Shrikes, you talked about the Ravens and maybe not making it as a wild card. And for the last few years, it's been Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, AFC.
Speaker 2
You're like, all right, one of them is going to win it. The Chiefs, even after their win yesterday, are still ranked 10th in the AFC.
How many teams in the AFC do you think could actually win the AFC?
Speaker 2 Because I believe it's the most wide open it's been in probably a decade.
Speaker 6 Yeah, it's like the guys we know from the last few years and then these upstarts. So take those first four or those first, you know, one, three, two, and five.
Speaker 6 Is anyone really picking, you know, and I say this, Boston Connor, with you, not trying to insult you and Pat with the Colts, whatever, but it's like
Speaker 6 if it's Chiefs at
Speaker 6 Colts in the wild card round, like we had yesterday, like if it's at Colts, we didn't have that yesterday, okay?
Speaker 1
They were not ringing Kansas City. They were not in the lighthouse.
They were not in the lighthouse. And I want to let you know, I do think it changed the game a little bit.
Okay.
Speaker 1 I do think maybe being out there in Kansas City, it's the bomb of the
Speaker 1 tree.
Speaker 1 I think it's a little different than a lighthouse, but go ahead. To your point,
Speaker 6
just you look at that. It's like, all right, so we've got Patriots as say they are the one seed.
And then in the divisional round,
Speaker 6 we've got the Bills at the Patriots, and they get another shot at that, you know, and it's the third time they're
Speaker 6 I bet you the, I bet you the Bills are favored in that game if Josh Allen's walking in there or it's Lamar Jackson going out to L.A.
Speaker 6 to play the Chargers after some of the losses the Chargers have had, like whether or not the stats are there, the numbers are there.
Speaker 6 I think the Lamar Jackson factor would give the Ravens the favorite. So it's this fascinating season of the guys we know, those three quarterbacks.
Speaker 6 Of course, those three teams that are there and they're banging on the door every year.
Speaker 6 And then you've got these upstarts and it's like, okay, Bo Nicks, we love what we saw against the the chiefs we love what that defense does we love everything about it but when the rubber hits the road and it's january football is it what we know in our back pocket the chiefs the bills the ravens or is it this team that's been doing everything right but are they ready to make that moment happen this year year number two in the playoffs you're talking about um obviously the afc right now ty actually had a point that we talked about during the break about uh teams this year with quarterback stuff what was your thoughts about if you have an elite defense yeah yeah basically I think this is one of the years, one of the rare years where, like, now, obviously, the Rams would maybe buck this trend a little bit, but I don't think you necessarily have to have an elite quarterback to win the Super Bowl this year.
Speaker 4 I think we look at all the teams up there that we're talking about as legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
Speaker 1 Now, Drake is elite.
Speaker 4
For sure, for sure. But it's the defenses this year.
Like, teams with unbelievable defenses are the ones that we're talking about. week in, week out, and with this much parody.
Speaker 4 Teams who have defenses that are that good, like they're going to be in every single game.
Speaker 4 And then it's just a matter of, can a guy like Bo Nicks have his best game of the year when we already know what the defense is going to do?
Speaker 6 Yeah, I think it's such a great point. In 2025, every rule is built for the offense and to score points.
Speaker 6 And yet two teams in particular, Denver and Houston, have built their teams around defense and said, all right. We got, and I talk to Peyton all the time.
Speaker 6
I talked to Vance Joseph on my podcast last week. They have Mahomes twice a year.
Mahomes owned them for years.
Speaker 6 It is no accident that they spent all their money in free free agency over the past few years on bringing in Zach Allen and bringing in, you know, Hufanga and bringing in Dre Greenlaw.
Speaker 6
And then, of course, drafting Jotty Baron, despite the fact they already have Patrick Sappan. Like, that's what you do to beat Mahomes.
You have to build your team to beat Mahomes.
Speaker 6
Then you go to Houston. You've got Nick Casario there at the GM.
They draft C.J. Stroud, trades up to get Will Anderson.
Speaker 6 And then you look at what they did on the defensive side of the ball, whether it be bringing in Daniel Hunter or drafting Derek Stingley when there was obviously needs on offense, taking him third overall.
Speaker 6 Like these are moves that are made that are very intentional and saying, despite the league being telling us that, hey, air rate offense and have 50 touchdowns from your quarterback and score, score, score, let's flip it on its head.
Speaker 6 Let's be the team that you got to beat and you got to beat us every single way because our defense is that good. That's the Broncos and the Bills.
Speaker 6 I'll be fascinated to see, I mean, sorry, the Broncos and the Texans.
Speaker 6 I'll be fascinated to see if those two teams can do it the whole stretch of the way and then maybe find themselves playing in San Francisco this February.
Speaker 1 Another team you didn't mention there, Colts invested a lot on the defensive side, including two first-round draft picks in the future.
Speaker 1
And then Patrick Mahomes needs a four and a half minute drive and he gets it. Just no problem at all.
Just right down there and then he gets the ball back in and he does it.
Speaker 1 So, you know, learning lessons as we get to and through meaningful football.
Speaker 1 As you were saying, everything you were saying and Ty was saying what he was saying, Debut, who played nine years in the NFL on the defensive side of the ball, goes,
Speaker 1 need a.
Speaker 1 You're going to need it. Look, defense.
Speaker 3 You're going to need the quarterback.
Speaker 3 You definitely need a defense as well, but you're going to need, I mean, elite, it's only, what, three or four probably elite quarterbacks, but you're going to need one of those guys when it comes down to, it's all good on November 24th, and we're looking at standards and saying, okay, these are teams, but somebody's going to have to take that step.
Speaker 3 It's going to be Drake. Is it going to be Bo? Is it going to be one of these guys who step up and have an elite run like Joe Flacco or somebody like that in the playoffs?
Speaker 3 But you're going to need elite quarterback play in the playoffs to get that chip.
Speaker 1
On that note. On that note, Connor, congratulations.
Drake May feels like one of those guys. Need one of those guys to do it.
All of the different traits that you would need to be a guy.
Speaker 1 Feels like Drake has. And don't look now.
Speaker 1 I got a text from The Miz yesterday. Uh-oh.
Speaker 6 Shador?
Speaker 1
He's saying he's thinking maybe Browns have playoffs this year. Go ahead, Connor.
Yeah, uh. This year.
Miz said, I did the math. This is during the game.
He's at the game. No way.
He lives in Vegas.
Speaker 1 He's at the game. He's texting me during the game.
Speaker 1
I did the math. I think we can still make the playoffs this year.
This is how this should have been from the beginning is how they feel. Go ahead, Conmit.
Speaker 4 Yeah, hard not to feel that way after watching him complete 11 passes, Shraigs. What do you think about the Browns and Shador? Can they even go back to Gabriel at this point?
Speaker 4 It feels like no, especially while Gabriel was playing. Everybody was just asking him, like, hey, can you even throw the ball 20 yards down the field?
Speaker 4 And then Shador completes a 53-yard pass in a bucket. What do you think about that situation as a whole? And what do you think about Stefansky?
Speaker 4 People are kind of getting loud about his whole kind of demeanor as a head football coach.
Speaker 1 They have announced that he is starting.
Speaker 1 It has been announced that he is starting for sources, I do believe, which is good.
Speaker 6 That's what I was going to roll with. And I think it's very, it's,
Speaker 6 you stole my thunder.
Speaker 1 No, I just wanted to, hey, this is new news because we were actually talking with Schefter about like, hey, how come he didn't come out and say that after the game?
Speaker 1
So this news being reported that it is being started. It's like, I just wanted you to know that.
That's on me. I apologize.
Speaker 6 It's fair. No, thank you.
Speaker 6 The thing is this, it's like, it's such a sensitive topic, obviously. We could do all the different podcasts and everything that, you know, Shadora is like such a lightning rod.
Speaker 6
Here, here's where you can look at it. One, the team never looked as alive and as fired up as they did yesterday.
Miles Garrett, their top, their top player, was
Speaker 6
like so supportive. Isaiah Bond on this pass, that's a perfect pass.
You could also say he had a horrible interception in this game that was like ill-advised.
Speaker 6
Still took a while to get the ball out, and that the Raiders are bad. So you look at it one of two ways.
I'm going to go with the former here. I'm going to say, let's take it for what it was.
Speaker 6
The team looked awesome. They looked fired up.
And he made this pass. And then the Samson screen pass that goes for 50 yards on this one.
Speaker 1 You could say, well,
Speaker 6
you could say, you could make the comment that he didn't do anything in this play. Guess what? He ran the offense and they had to do it and they got it done.
That said,
Speaker 6
Raiders' defense is atrocious. And I'm not taking it away from Shador, but I like the fact he did it on the Raiders, who passed over him seven different times in the NFL draft.
Seven different times.
Speaker 6 The Raiders felt that they were better off without Shador Sanders, despite being connected there for so many months leading into the draft.
Speaker 6
Uh, he found a way he's going to start and he's going to go up against the Niners. And we could keep on doing this.
What about ism? What about ism? Let's not do that.
Speaker 6 He did it yesterday, he won the game and he looked good. And that pass to Bond is as good as any that the Browns have completed all season long.
Speaker 1
Actually, better, yeah. So that's the best ball that they've had in uh two decades, they said.
Actually,
Speaker 1
Bond was there, certainly me exactly. As he catch, I'm like, Oh, yeah, very fast.
I'm happy they're using him. That's good news.
Speaker 1 And uh, to your point about the energy, it's like just real caring at all about a cleveland browns game felt good for me just just caring at all about what the outcome was and then him getting a and we talked about this in the first hour and you're an on-field reporter uh like pretty regularly at this no that was a gift to tiffany blackman but go on because he was so good in these interviews yes he was afterwards but also right before his first ever start as a fifth round rookie somebody had to approve of that right like the browns had to approve of that happening and all of it get to interview the quarterback yeah starting quarterback you got to get here's what he said before right before his first start.
Speaker 1 He's a fifth-round draft pick.
Speaker 1 I don't know if this is happening anywhere else.
Speaker 3 Shador, you told us that this week felt like you were getting back to normal being a starting quarterback like you have your whole career, but this is going to be your first NFL start.
Speaker 3 What does that opportunity feel like in this moment? Feels good, but
Speaker 3 we cool, calm, collectively.
Speaker 3 This ain't nothing to us. And what do you hope to show against this Raiders defense, your teammates, yourself, and these Browns fans with their play today?
Speaker 3 I'm who they've been looking for.
Speaker 1
Walk off. Appreciate it.
Thank you. Goodbye.
What a hilarious line. Like, even in that moment, like, I'm going to create, this is a clip here.
Speaker 1
This is something like, all that shit is not Cleveland Browns. Like, none of it.
So it's like, thank God. The interest of.
Speaker 1 Yeah, if you're a Shador Sanders fan, it's like, thank God, he's nothing like what. You're a fan of football.
Speaker 3 You don't want anything to be what Cleveland Browns has been.
Speaker 1
Amen. Miles Garrett has 18 sacks right now.
18 sacks. He leads second by five.
He's outrageous right now. So that has been good football for the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 1
Joe Thomas got to his spot better than anybody in the history of football. But a lot of Cleveland Brown football is shite football.
So Shador bringing any energy, I think, is a positive.
Speaker 1
But it was hard to find a lot of highlights to run. So he ran the same plays over and over.
It's his first start, middle of the season.
Speaker 1 First start.
Speaker 3 Judy just kind of pretty much.
Speaker 6
Judy fumbled, and he can't control who we played. It wasn't his fault.
Like, they were up against a Raiders team.
Speaker 6
And by the way, Max Crosby is a pretty good player, and he's in his face the whole game. And their run defense is pretty good.
Like,
Speaker 6
you can't fault him for playing against a bad Raiders team. It's just who's on the schedule.
And that same bad Raiders team looked at his draft profile seven different times and said, we're good.
Speaker 6
We don't want this guy. So I liked it from him.
Harold Fannin, hello.
Speaker 1
Beast. Yeah, absolute beast.
You know, there's another young quarterback that's getting a lot of chatter about him.
Speaker 1 And I don't want to bring it up, Shrek.
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah, have to. That Minnesota Vikings team.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Yeah. I don't want to reiterate the point, and people are going to say we're echoing ourselves, but it is such a good point that it needs to be stated time and time again.
Speaker 1
That NFC was decided in the final week by the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. They're playing for the number one overall seed.
Team back. Coordinator's back.
Speaker 1
Everything's back except for quarterback. Quarterback is new.
Who are you going with? Young guy, we drafted him early for a reason. He got hurt.
Doesn't have a lot of reps.
Speaker 1 We were going all in around him. You got Sam Darnold, Darnold, Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 1
Rodgers was available. Aaron Rodgers allegedly was waiting to hear if they wanted him.
A lot of quarterbacks, okay?
Speaker 1 A lot of quarterbacks that wanted that position because they know Kevin O'Connell's offense. If you are able to get to your drop step, there's somebody going to be wide open.
Speaker 1 And it might be Justin Jefferson, the best wide receiver in all of football. So very fascinating how it's all unraveling right now and how nine is performing.
Speaker 1 He's also currently in the concussion protocol that just got announced via Ari Miro,
Speaker 1 via the team's, I would assume, website or social media account. How do you kind of view this entire nine situation with the Vikings?
Speaker 1 Because obviously yesterday, Micah and Green Bay Packers defense did their thing against them. 59, 52-yard field goals, half the points that they scored the entire tonight.
Speaker 1 What are your thoughts on the Vikings? Because they're supposed to be in it, I think everybody thinks or thought going into the season.
Speaker 6 Well, look jeff halfly's defense put on a show yesterday and the fact that they had five net yards in the second half and they were sacked five times had two interceptions and then both third and one and fourth and one in the first half big moments in the red zone like got stuffed it that's the game and we're going to talk about it the rest of his career sadly until he turns it around but jj mccarthy was selected over Bo Nicks, and he was in a draft where there was other quarterbacks who are having great success.
Speaker 6
Drake May, Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels last year, and Michael Pennix has shown flashes. So you're in that draft class.
That's one bucket. Then the second bucket is the guys that you chose him over.
Speaker 6
And Darnold could have been franchise tagged this year. And McCarthy's salary is not exuberant.
They could have had both those guys on the roster. And they could have said, let's run it back.
Speaker 6
We came up just short. Let's do it.
You could have also brought back Daniel Jones. You could have entertained Rogers.
Speaker 6
And you could have said to McCarthy, we're going to wait one more year until you come off this injury. We're going to see.
Hindsight's 2020, of course.
Speaker 6 We forget how how bad those eight days were for sam darnold two of the worst performances that have cost one man more money in the history of the nfl than sam darnold's last eight days as a viking the sunday night loss and then the monday night loss where they lost to the rams in arizona where if we were to have this conversation that tuesday morning and maybe we did it was probably 99 saying all right it was a nice story it was a good ride sam darnold was fun for a year for the vikings we got to go to jj no no i would have i would have said franchise tag.
Speaker 6
Let's let's split the baby. Let's do it.
Let's see if we can get one more year here, keep JJ in the wings. And then year three, he's the guy if Sam doesn't.
Speaker 6 But truth of the matter is they went all in on a draft pick that they traded up for the year before, and they were banking on what their pre-draft process was, the interviews, and the coaching that like O'Connell and McCowan can get the best out of this guy.
Speaker 6 Well,
Speaker 6 not only has he been a disappointment, but there's been health issues this year too.
Speaker 6 So now you're left with major question marks when obviously they had maybe the best quarterback room in football last year.
Speaker 1 Yeah, I understand what you're saying about the end of Darnold's days, and Seahawks were obviously reaping the benefit of Darnold going out there. Big win over the Titans for them yesterday.
Speaker 1 And the Minnesota Vikings sitting in a position where are they going to have to admit something here? No, right? Can't.
Speaker 2
Well, tell you what, if Max Brosmer gets a start, we're looking at a Brock Purdy situation. Yeah, look out.
He is not turning that ball back over.
Speaker 1 I mean, there's a chance, right? No, there is.
Speaker 2 That's I'm being dead serious.
Speaker 1 There's absolutely Tone.
Speaker 6 Tell me about him because I got to be honest, I know the name, but give us the little profile.
Speaker 2 He was an FCS All-American at New Hampshire and then transferred to Minnesota, had a really good year last year at Minnesota, and then, you know, came to the Vikings this year. He's
Speaker 1 can spin it? Oh, yeah, yeah, you can spin it. He can run, too.
Speaker 1
No, not much of a runner. He's more of a spinner.
Okay. Okay, so he can spin it.
So Kevin O'Connell's offense, we're doing robot stuff. Yeah.
We're in here. We're doing this entire thing.
Speaker 1
This could be a Brock Party situation. Could be.
Yes. This could be a Brock Party situation.
Speaker 4 If they admit fault, though, like that's, isn't that a fireable offense for the GM?
Speaker 4 Like, you had this team that was ready to be the best team in the NFC, and now all of a sudden it's just like, I mean, that, I don't know, because I see a lot of people putting KOC into that, and I don't think that I think that's, you know, getting way ahead of your skis.
Speaker 4 But, like, if you're the GM, you traded up to draft this guy. You had everything kind of made, and you were ready to go.
Speaker 4
Again, you paid everybody on the defense. Your offense is kind of set with all the weapons.
And then it's just like, yeah, you know what?
Speaker 4 Unfortunately, I fucked up the most important position in sports. So we're going to try something else.
Speaker 1 And it's also how it looks.
Speaker 4 Like, we were told it was going to look good.
Speaker 1 I agree.
Speaker 4 Like, okay, sure, they're not going to win.
Speaker 1 I was lied to. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Like,
Speaker 4 we all knew they weren't going to win 14 games like last year, but we were told it was going to.
Speaker 1 You're going to call the better business bureau. I were told all training camp how great he was as well.
Speaker 4 It's not as if we, the expectation, I think, is also what has killed nine in the sense of how bad it looks because during training camp and all these people were coming on and saying, like, hey,
Speaker 4
nine's great. They're real confident in J.J.
McCarthy right now. And maybe they were in training camp because he was playing against high school football defenses, but it just looks abysmal.
Speaker 1
Like, there's no hope. There's a couple good throws there.
Not yesterday, there wasn't. Behind the line of scrimmage, maybe.
I will say this.
Speaker 2
I just looked at Brosmer's first start next week. They have at Seattle, so that would be tough.
Oh, that'd be
Speaker 1 easy defense.
Speaker 4 Well, he's pure the GM. That's a good move then.
Speaker 6 Can't protect Max Prosmer.
Speaker 1 Got to throw it out there.
Speaker 4
Yeah, throw this guy in. And then you can say the fan base, oh, this is the guy you want.
This is the guy you want. I think we'll stick with nine.
Speaker 6 No, the post script on it all, and I think I've said this before, maybe on this show, but like the commanders thought Sam Darnold was coming to them last year.
Speaker 6
And at the last second, he's like, I'm actually going to go with O'Connell and go with those guys. And they were like, well, all right, well, we'll pivot.
We'll go with Mariota.
Speaker 6 But like, what a sliding doors moment if Darnold was in Washington, never takes the field. and then all of a sudden it's Jaden from day one, and we don't even know about Sam Darnold.
Speaker 6
And it's like, I don't know. It's just amazing how the NFL works.
And it's these moments that like come and go.
Speaker 1
Butterfly effects, I believe, decisions. Yes, that's what it's called.
Everything like that.
Speaker 1
Marcus Marigota. Did we know? That was a sick hoodie you got on, by the way.
Oh,
Speaker 1
yeah. I got an Ohana hoodie.
You got one? Shout out to Rob, shout out to Rob and the Oregon equipment staff. They always hook it up.
That's cool. Great Air Forces, too.
That have Ohana on it.
Speaker 1
Damn. Yeah, because it was celebrating Mariota going in there.
He's tall. Did we know he was tall? tall
Speaker 1 i didn't know that was big what six four easy right yeah first thing i said to him is oh i didn't know you were tall paul you're tall tall and he did he i don't know yeah i know i know we're doing all nfl pat can i i mean that was incredible saturday morning the motorcycle
Speaker 6 oh my god dude and then landing getting getting involved with the shout like
Speaker 6 I say this as a as a as an objective viewer, not a sycophant, not to kiss yourself.
Speaker 1 Get the hell out of the way, social media guy.
Speaker 6
This is all I'm saying. All right, social media guy, we'll get the video.
Don't worry. Someone's filming.
Speaker 6 There's a camera from the sky and a drone.
Speaker 2 We're good.
Speaker 6 We don't need social media guys filming this.
Speaker 6 I used to
Speaker 6 wake up and look forward to Saturday Night Live every Saturday night and see who the cold open was going to be and who they were going to have.
Speaker 6
This is how I am now on Saturday mornings with these game day openings. They're incredible.
You've now set the standard and the bar so high.
Speaker 6 I don't know where you guys are going on Saturday, but like the only thing left is to like jump out of a plane or to like jump off a mountain. I have nothing.
Speaker 6 I don't know what else you can do at this point.
Speaker 1 I appreciate that.
Speaker 1
Helicopter. Yeah, we could do a lot of things, I guess.
No, it's, I'm very thankful that Matt, who is the leader of the quack, uh, kind of hooked it up.
Speaker 1
I think he had to have belief that I could ride a motorcycle. So I can ride a motorcycle.
My wife and I
Speaker 1
have it. Yeah.
I mean, the helmet was obviously pretty tight.
Speaker 1 I also, you know, there's a chance that that thing has an anti-fog screen on it, you know, but but that just wasn't the case and when i realized with the fog the lights and it was dark and that kids running backwards in front of me at one point it's like uh it's like all right this there's a lot going on there's a lot going on here and then i didn't do a test drive
Speaker 1 the uh the cover-up of the wires plastic oh yeah plus being a little moist in the morning like in my head i didn't know those were going to be there should have known they were going to be there i'm rolling through i see those for the first time i'm like oh no this need to stay the straight here then we'll turn left in there you know know, so it was very cool for everybody to set that up.
Speaker 1 Miss Dana over at Oregon, the leader of the dance crew and I think stadium environment and mascot and everything like that. I appreciate her going to work for this whole thing.
Speaker 1
But yeah, it was it was a lot of fun. Faso made a lot of calls, you know, Fosso.
Oh, yeah. Faso made a lot because we're second time in like three, four weeks.
Speaker 1 So if I just do the same thing, we went there last year and last year. It's like you can't just do the same thing every time.
Speaker 6 There's just something special.
Speaker 6 And it was the same end when you guys were were in Utah like that that morning darkness and I know it's not an easy thing for you guys to be doing these west coast hours and especially on a Saturday morning but like gosh there is nothing more electric than me on the East Coast with my son on the couch turning it on and it's dark as night and there's a full crowd there and you're going nuts with the
Speaker 1 smoke coming I loved it bro it was great okay I appreciate the coming that's very very cool of you to say and uh it was a lot of fun and thank you to the Oregon people for their hospitality those are the the air forces there the ohana air forces I had on.
Speaker 1
So they were very kind, very nice. And shout out to the kids showing up.
We were there two times in like three weeks. Impressive.
And they showed up in a big way, especially.
Speaker 6 There were critics. There were critics who said you shouldn't have been there, Pat.
Speaker 1 Yeah,
Speaker 1
there was some other opportunities. You know, every week there are those.
Every week there are those. But Dan Lanning and everybody are so kind.
Speaker 1
And being a part of a show that people want to come to their place is very cool. So I appreciate you saying that.
And shout out to Oregon. Hey, they got a football team.
Yeah, they do.
Speaker 1 They got a tough football team.
Speaker 6 Got a quarterback, too. I like that kid.
Speaker 1
Yeah, yeah. Dante's a stud.
All right, last question here for you, Shraigs on this overreaction Monday. Go ahead, Ty.
Speaker 4
Yeah, Shraigs, before the season started, you came on the show and basically said, hey, the coaching changes in Detroit. I'm out.
I don't think they're going to make the playoffs this year.
Speaker 4 You took a lot of heat.
Speaker 4 And then for a little bit there, you know, when Johnny Moe got his play calling duty stripped from him, you were, you know, maybe, maybe right, but you could probably argue they may have the best player in the NFL and Jameer Gibbs.
Speaker 4 Where do you stand on the Lions right now now after, you know, not the prettiest of wins yesterday and then a tough one on Thursday against the Packers on Thanksgiving?
Speaker 6 Yeah, very good team and a very good offense and a very good running back in Jameer Gibbs, who had three touchdowns and more than 230 yards from scrimmage yesterday or 50 yards from scrimmage.
Speaker 6 I think it's fair to say that they are an excellent team who's going to either win the division or be a wild card contender. And of course, in the Super Bowl contention.
Speaker 6 It's also fair to say that when they go outside and play in Lambeau and they lose in week one, and they go outside and lose to the Chiefs in Arrowhead, and then a week ago playing against the Eagles coming up short, like it's fair to ask whether this team is a team that is good or a team that is great.
Speaker 6 And I think the loss of Ben Johnson was a big storyline in the offseason, and I jumped on it and I was wrong. Dan Campbell can still get this offense going.
Speaker 6 But the fact that they've replaced their offensive coordinator already sort of justifies what I was fearing at the very least, that maybe there is a gap in the play calling from Ben Johnson to what we thought was going to be Johnny Moe as the offensive coordinator.
Speaker 6 So, I think both things can be true. I was wrong that the Lions were going to be
Speaker 6 flatter on offense, and I'm also right that let's see how they do as the season goes on, and that Ben Johnson's a pretty good play caller as well.
Speaker 1
Jameer Gibbs was pounding the ground on that run. I mean, he was beating the shit out of the ground on that run.
It's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 So,
Speaker 1
so he's going into earth so hard, and uh, obviously, that's why he's so fast. He's exploding.
I mean, it was like Pacheco, though. He's special.
This guy's special talent.
Speaker 1
Yeah, running angry, but also incredibly fast. And Gibbs goes supersonic, not bad here from, you know, D-Bone.
Graphic designers had a hell of a day today. Yeah.
Had a hell of a day today.
Speaker 1
They absolutely crushed it. But you talk about him being so fast.
He's supposed to be a part of a duo, Sonic and Knuckles. It's seemingly becoming the Sonic show.
Speaker 1 And how could it not be with how good he is? I assume that's something that MCDC has to balance tie. Have you heard any comments from MCDC?
Speaker 4 Yeah, he basically said the, you know, something along the lines of like, listen, man, I'm trying to kind of balance this shit, give David his touches, but I don't even get to watch Jameer because every time I put him in the game, I look down, that motherfucker's already in the end zone.
Speaker 4 So, you know, I mean, hey, three clouds and a, you know, a little bit of dust with Dave or 75 yards and a touchdown with Jameer Gibbs. I think you know which way I'm leaning, man.
Speaker 1 Yeah, it does.
Speaker 6 I was texting with Ty because the Packers, I think this is the biggest game for both those team seasons this week on Thanksgiving Day in Detroit, where the Lions have handled the Packers last couple of year, whatever.
Speaker 6 And then all this hype with the Packers defense, like, all right, here comes Jameer Gibson. I love this.
Speaker 6 I mean, everyone's talking about Chiefs, Colts, and, of course, Ravens, Bengals, but like Packers, Lions at one o'clock on a Thanksgiving Thursday. Like, let's go.
Speaker 1
Yeah, it's supposed to be noon. I think we all thought.
Yeah, we all thought that was going to be noon. So we're trying to adjust, I guess.
Speaker 1
Thanks for adding another hour hour of potential arguments to America. That's bullshit.
You know, could have put the game on earlier, you know, so we could have the entire afternoon.
Speaker 1 Green Bay, Detroit on Fox. Kansas City, Dallas on CBS.
Speaker 6 Look at that slate. It's a good one.
Speaker 1
Cincinnati, Baltimore on NBC, and then Chicago and Philly on primetime. All playoff implicating type games.
It's going to be a huge Thanksgiving. Shraig's, we appreciate the hell out of you, brother.
Speaker 6
Bro, I love you. I love you guys.
Thank you. This was awesome.
Always is.
Speaker 1
Hey, you're killing it. We're watching.
Ladies and gentlemen, Peter Schrager.
Speaker 1
I'll tell you what, Shrag's on TV a lot doing good. Hosting, analyzing.
Jack of all trades. He can do it all.
The Shraeger.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah. Well, how about whenever he's sitting there?
Speaker 4 Fireside chat. There you go.
Speaker 1
The Shraga chat. Yeah, you're talking about the Shraeger chat.
Real artsy. Yeah, it is very artsy.
And it's a one-shot. You know, he's talking to that camera.
Why don't you come take a walk with me?
Speaker 1
Like, it's his good fellas through the kitchen. Let me explain to you what everything is.
And he's got that really cool fire and everything's set up nice. Yeah, Shrake.
Shrag's doing his thing.
Speaker 1 The NFL is awesome.
Speaker 1
Rolling. All right, before we get out of here on ESPN, as we continue digitally, I think we should break down tonight's game a little bit.
I think we should break down tonight's game.
Speaker 1
Carolina Panthers take on the San Francisco 49ers. Is the number still seven and a half on this evening's game? Yes, it is.
What's the percentage of bets on the San Francisco 49ers?
Speaker 1
It was 62% last time we checked last hour. It is currently sitting at 61%.
Oh, no. The 60% plus bets are something we get our stats from.
Now it's at 61. Should we still take it seriously?
Speaker 1 Yeah, you definitely have to. And what is 60% of the bets this weekend?
Speaker 2 So far this weekend, if a team is getting 60% or more of the bets against the spread, they are two, seven, and one against the spread.
Speaker 1 So
Speaker 1 that would tell you that the odds are against the San Francisco 49ers covering 60.
Speaker 1
D. Butt, your thoughts? We have 90 seconds.
Can we pick you or no?
Speaker 1 I think you should give a pick.
Speaker 1 I think you could give, I mean, we're wasting valuable seconds right now because we don't have a lot of them, but I think you can give a little bit of a reasoning and then a pick, I think.
Speaker 3 Because of what Tone said, the betting numbers, and the last time we saw the San Francisco 49ers, they gave up 47 completions. I think Bryce Young would be just all right.
Speaker 3 Maybe win this game straight up, but definitely Panthers plus seven and a half.
Speaker 1
Okay, that's Panthers plus seven and a half by Darius J. Butler.
A.J. Hawk, you are 9-3-1 currently on week 12 of the NFL against the spread.
How do you see tonight going?
Speaker 5 I plan on going 10-3-1 by taking the Carolina Panthers here. Rico Dowdell hopefully gets a good chunk of carries and gets going early.
Speaker 5 I still like San Francisco and what they can do, but I like Carolina with those points.
Speaker 1
I'll tell you what. I feel the exact same way.
That is not good that we all feel that way, but we all feel against the majority of the public.
Speaker 1 And I think that's because just like a couple different times this season, whether it's college ball or NFL, I think we know more about these teams potentially because we've been following them a little bit closer because we are either embroiled with beef with them or new introductions with them.
Speaker 1
So I think Carolina Panthers, pretty good team. I think they'll cover the seven and a half.
I still think the Niners get a win. And thank you to week 12 of the NFL Slate being spectacular.
Speaker 1
And thank you all for allowing us to do this for a living. We're the dumbest people on earth living the dumbest lives of all time.
And it's because of you. So thank you all so much.
Speaker 1
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice. It might change their life.
We continue on digital. See you tomorrow.
Yeah, I feel like that was a pretty good one. Gave myself a little bit more runway.
Speaker 1 Yeah, great.
Speaker 1 Had to fill a little bit more time. What was the first hour?
Speaker 1 first hour yeah chef just kept going but that was on me because i had i felt obligated to say something and i cut into his time so i think he had a clock and i kind of messed that up so that's on me what are we gonna do about it what are we gonna do about it you guys did it it was great it was a great program i think we all like carolina plus seven i think we all felt it this morning i think we all kind of felt it this morning age and i don't know if you woke up the same way but connor actually came up to me and was like hey are you getting the same feeling that you had on thursday and it's like no i don't and then the more and more i thought about it i was like i I think I do.
Speaker 1
It's a ton of points. Yeah.
And also, I think we have more respect for Carolina than most people. Yes.
I think that's probably the case.
Speaker 4 That's what I was going to say. Like the people just remember, you know, past years of how bad they were when things were just in shambles.
Speaker 4 And if the Panthers haven't played your favorite team, you probably haven't watched them, definitely haven't had them in like the quad box on Sunday.
Speaker 4 So you, you know, you have no idea and you just assume like, oh, these are the guys who the owner is kind of an asshole and all that kind of, and all that stuff is kind of blown away.
Speaker 4 Like they, i mean they're good like they look at the division like if they win tonight they they might make the playoffs this year so and i also think what you said is is pretty accurate too like i think any anyone could see this game being like niners 28 carolina 24 you know 37 31 27.
Speaker 2 like i think it's going to be a much better game than people anticipate the panthers also do i'm on the panthers tonight i just want to i'll say that but they also have the ability to just go out there and lay and true absolute die true happen 40 what was it
Speaker 1 40 to 9 if they to the bills and then they lost the saints yeah so they can they can they have the ability yeah this could be a niners blow up could be brock purdy could say oh you all forgot you know could be one of those or
Speaker 1 maybe a twofer uh what game did we not talk a lot about falcons beat the saints 24-10 kirk cousins is back celebrate with
Speaker 1 kirk cousins football is all the way back crazy that he was just kind of out of sight out of mind for so long getting paid as much as he's getting paid it was the thought that he was going to get traded go somewhere obviously having Bijan Robinson on your offense is good news.
Speaker 1 He is obviously filthy.
Speaker 1 But yeah, Kirk Cousins gets a huge win for the Falcons, AJ. I like seeing Kirk spin it a little bit.
Speaker 5 How can you not? I mean, especially if you watched him at all on, you know, quarterback or whatever, like, how do you not root for this dude? And he can still spin it. You're right.
Speaker 5
He had a couple unbelievable balls and all this. Like, this is what, yeah, this is cool.
Like, seeing him all juiced and juiced up. Like, he hasn't had this feeling in a long time.
Speaker 5 This is the one right here. Yeah, you're like, okay, here we go, Kirk, right in stride.
Speaker 1
And the boys pick him up, too. Offensive linemen, pick him up and carry him around.
He's an adult with kids getting picked up by another.
Speaker 1 You're obviously super excited for Kirk because of the situation and how he's handled it all.
Speaker 3
Absolutely. Good for Kirk.
Been a pro. And I did not know Kirk still had that throw right there in the bag.
So they're going to need him to stay competitive. No reps.
Keep him afraid.
Speaker 3
No reps, just like, you know, Shadur said, hey, one week of practice, getting the reps. So I love to see that, especially with all the weapons.
that was banged up and out of the lineup.
Speaker 1 Might have been a reset button for old Kirk, too.
Speaker 1
He might have been getting in his own head. Remember, he was making some shitty plays at the end of that run.
He had a look at interceptions last year.
Speaker 1 Yeah, there was a lot of like dumb non-Kirk Cousins things happening in the game. And was that because of who was around him, because of what was being played or whatever the case, we don't know.
Speaker 1
But nice little reset, little refresher. And Kirk Cousins reminds everybody there's a reason I was paid as much as I was paid.
Patriots get a big win over the Bengals.
Speaker 1 That was closer than you guys liked up there or what?
Speaker 4 Yeah, definitely closer with the injuries. You kind of expected it because of how early on.
Speaker 1 Yeah, what happened?
Speaker 1 What happened? What happened?
Speaker 4 Jared Wilson right off the bat, ankle. I mean, I think it was the first run of the game to Trevion Henderson, real tough.
Speaker 4 Then Will Campbell on a toss left, got a knee or got a helmet to the knee, kind of a little bit to the side.
Speaker 1 And that's your left guard, left tackle.
Speaker 4 Yeah, that's left guard, left half.
Speaker 1 Both of them rookies.
Speaker 4
Yeah, both of them rookies. It was tough.
Drake May, you know, dragged us out of a hole, but we haven't played anybody, so who cares?
Speaker 4 My question for you more so would be: did you get any messages from any Bengals fans about their whole
Speaker 4 operation as far as
Speaker 4 people yelling stuff to you, whether it be in the morning on your way into work.
Speaker 1 That's funny. Anything that you can do? Just walked me to water.
Speaker 1 Yeah, so as soon as I parked here outside the Thunderdome this morning, there was a cop pulling up to the stop sign that's kind of adjacent to the building here.
Speaker 1 And hilarious, I wave good morning and he has his intercom or whatever. He goes, can we bury Zach Taylor a little bit today?
Speaker 1
And I thought I heard it. I thought I heard it.
I was like, what's that? And he goes, Zach Taylor, need to hate him. I go, all right, okay, dude.
Thank you for your service. And then he turns away.
Speaker 1 It was
Speaker 1 a hilarious happenstance, but it was like, wow, Bengals fans, I guess they must be done with old Zach Taylor. Now, Joe Burrow coming back to play.
Speaker 1
Obviously, we assume Team is going to be different with him. Marcus Jones, what a pick here.
Just understanding everything that was about to happen in a play, basically. Yeah,
Speaker 3
you cannot be late to the flat in the NFL. We talk about it all the time.
When you are, that's what happens. Most explosive plays happen in the NFL along the sidelines.
Speaker 3 So that's what happened right here.
Speaker 1 Flat. Yeah, it it felt like
Speaker 1 Joe New Rockway threw it.
Speaker 1 Joe Newton threw it. Yeah, well, hashtag
Speaker 1 10-7, that would give you 14-10. Then there are some decisions made later, right, that people were confused about.
Speaker 4
Yeah, I mean, decision, but also just like complete ineptitude. Like we had eight straight chances at the goal line to score a touchdown, and we got stopped all eight times.
Absolutely despicable.
Speaker 4 And then when it was 23 to 20, once again, first and goal from the one-yard line for New England, and they just got stuffed. So there really wasn't any, yeah, I wasn't sure what you were.
Speaker 1
Yeah, no, no. It wasn't Zach Taylor.
Why do they hate Zach Taylor?
Speaker 4
Oh, I don't know why they hate Zach Taylor. Honestly, while I was watching that game, it's like the Patriots have a top 10 defense.
They don't have Jamar Chase.
Speaker 4
If Jamar Chase is in the game, that might help a little bit. T.
Higgins also went down with concussion. Feel as though the Cincinnati Bengals field also has cement underneath it, like MetLife.
Speaker 4 I think there were 15 different injuries.
Speaker 1 But, I mean,
Speaker 4 I didn't really look towards Zach Taylor while watching that game like this guy's a dipshit. It was more so like, one, this team's banged up and their best player spit on someone last week.
Speaker 4 They'd have their backup quarterback, Joe Flacco, who also got hurt during the game. Jake Browning came in and kind of was serviceable enough, but I wouldn't point to Zach Taylor.
Speaker 4 I feel as though Bengals fans are just trying to point to anybody but the offensive line and Duke Tobin and their decision to not pick the right guy to block for Joe Burrow.
Speaker 4 But once again, you do kind of have to blame someone. I personally feel as if Zach Taylor is a good coach, but if that's who they want to blame, that's who they want to blame.
Speaker 1
I don't know. The whole entire build of the team, it was like, obviously, you get key injuries and it just ruins everything that they had going there.
But like where they chose to invest their money,
Speaker 1 everybody that has known football forever is like, that's not any level at this stage, how you kind of win in this whole thing. Now, they've struck out at offensive line a couple of times.
Speaker 1
They've struck out. They've tried to get guys.
They've struck out. Obviously, that stinks in it all, but I don't know, man.
Speaker 1 Eight goal line stands, you said?
Speaker 4 It actually ended ended up being 11 because we got to 26 and we did three straight plays, stuffed, and we ended up having to kick the field goal to go 26-20.
Speaker 1 So, Bangles defense. I mean,
Speaker 4
they only scored 19 points. I mean, without the pick six, we lose that game.
Granted, they had a pick six too. But yeah, Patriots, first team to 10 wins.
You got to love it.
Speaker 1
Yeah, ruler of speed was up there, ruler of the jungle. Oh, yeah.
See him hit a backflip with the thing? No. He had the thing in his hand, the sorcery stone.
Yeah,
Speaker 1 stack.
Speaker 1 Jungle's there did that thing sure and he was getting him jacked off let's go let's go and then he hit a backflip with that thing i thought was very impressive because that should have hit the ground at some point did not stuck the landing i don't know if you're supposed to do anything it seems like there was nothing to kind of yeah shouldn't you put it into something yeah do you do you plant it into something i don't know i was looking around that's a new thing that's not like an old school bangles tradition that's that's newer i don't think you plant it because when wit did it he just went fucking nuts with it and so you just kind of hold it yeah yeah like a
Speaker 1
I mean, you should boom with fireworks. Yeah.
Yeah.
Speaker 4
Yeah. That costs money.
Or be able to hit it. Which I think is what the Bangladesh fans should be a little pissed about.
Speaker 1
Look, here he is. So I'm looking on the ground to see if there's anywhere to put it, you know? Or are you just out there doing it? I think speed handle it properly, I would say.
And then boom, bang.
Speaker 5 Jeez, that's impressive.
Speaker 1 It is impressive. Yeah, incredibly.
Speaker 2 Sick staff, too.
Speaker 1
So you just hold that thing up. I didn't know if he was going to put it in the ground at some point.
You should. Toss, just dabbling.
Or, yeah. Yeah, they should have
Speaker 1 darts.
Speaker 5 Yeah, just try to get that or bring a fake Patriots mascot. Bring like a Patriots mascot and just beat the hell out of them with it.
Speaker 1
76. Maybe it's a stab of.
Maybe there's something. Yeah.
You know, like the other team, and then you put stab kind of through.
Speaker 1
That's good backflip, though. And heavy Jays.
Those are heavy Jays. Those are not the most athletic Jays.
And he lands that thing on his feet, doesn't do it. And it turns out they lose.
But
Speaker 1
the Patriots did their thing. What do we not talk enough about? College football.
Huge weekend. Obviously, this weekend have a lot of rivalries.
Friday is going to be loaded.
Speaker 1
Saturday's loaded with college bowl. I mean, we are living in a very good time.
Meaningful football. Store.patmackforshow.com, 25% off because every game matters.
Speaker 1
And if you want to support Rep's brand, we would certainly be thankful. And if you don't, we don't care either.
We're very appreciative for the support.
Speaker 1
Don't feel obligated, but we'd love to see you out and about. Stored uppatmackfrashow.com, 25% off everything right now.
Meaningful football games, college, very, very meaningful.
Speaker 1 Tone, what's the storyline?
Speaker 2 Yeah, there's a lot of meaningful games this weekend. Obviously, in the lead up to this week, which will be the last week of the year, Rivalry week, before we get into conference championships.
Speaker 2 But let's start in Eugene, Oregon, where you were, where Oregon kind of took it to USC.
Speaker 2 USC came out and they did score the first touchdown of the game, but then Oregon kind of, you know, imposed their will a bit. And that's kind of what we talked about with Dan Lanning a lot.
Speaker 2
There you have Kenyon Sadiq with an incredible touchdown pass. Noah Woodington was incredible.
The whole run game, that's kind of what Oregon's been based on.
Speaker 2 And they dominated and pulled away late to get a huge win there. The other big one was Mizzou was going down to
Speaker 2 Bo. So what there was
Speaker 2 there's a lot of questions about Oregon's or sorry, Oklahoma's offense.
Speaker 2
There was this, what was it, like 93-yard touchdown early in the game, but like other than that, there was not a ton of offense in this game at all. It was low scoring.
We didn't know what
Speaker 2 Pribula was going to be able to do. I was going to go with the Stanford Steve saying Pribiola, but I don't like that.
Speaker 1 I think that's right, though, isn't it? Yeah, it might be.
Speaker 2 But Bo, could be to go with Bo, but like Oregon did just enough to get this win and then stay obviously in playoff contention.
Speaker 2 The other big one, BYU, went to Cincinnati, where they basically just have to win to get in. It was close all game long.
Speaker 2 LJ Martin, the running back for BYU, had over 200 yards and they got a big win against Cincinnati. So now all they have to do is win this weekend.
Speaker 2 I believe they host UCF and then they'll face Texas Tech in the Big 12 championship game if Texas Tech gets a big win against WU on the road.
Speaker 1
I don't. That's going to be tough.
It's in Morgan time.
Speaker 2 But right now, it's looking like BYU Texas Tech. And then I'd say the last game, the last thing that we should touch on is just Jeremiah Love.
Speaker 2 Stanford Steve said, hey, in these last two games, Jeremiah Love's going to run for 500 yards.
Speaker 2
That might not be wrong. He would have had eight carries for 170, I believe.
Eight?
Speaker 1
Eight. Eight carries.
Three tuds.
Speaker 2
Three tuds, yes. And Notre Dame was up 21-0 before their offense touched the ball.
They won 70 to whatever. So Jeremiah Love had a huge weekend.
Speaker 2 He is now number three in the Heisman odds moving up the charts.
Speaker 1 He's awesome. He was great on our show last week, and obviously he just
Speaker 1 is untackable, seemingly.
Speaker 1 Those are high school stats.
Speaker 3 Man, Syracuse do any sprints after the game?
Speaker 1 No.
Speaker 4 Fran Brown was pretty defeated. He basically said, I want my team to be like that team.
Speaker 1 That's basically all he said post-game.
Speaker 4 He's pretty bummed out.
Speaker 1
He's bummed out. For good reason.
Bummed out Brown is what they're saying.
Speaker 2
And I got one more. If I forgot this, I would have been attacked again.
Pitt had a huge win down at Georgia Tech, too. Now Georgia Tech does not control their fate for the ACC Championship.
Speaker 2 Virginia does, and SMU does for the ACC Championship. There is an ACC chaos scenario where if they lose, there's going to be like five teams tied at 6-2.
Speaker 2 But Pitt had a huge result there against Georgia Tech, and they host Miami this week. So the ACC is still up for grabs, but this was a big one in that conference.
Speaker 1 Yeah, we thought senior day, Haynes King, but we just saw the pit the week before against Jeremiah Love, who once again had a huge day, multiple touchdowns.
Speaker 1
Instead, Pitt goes in there, Narduzi goes in there and steals all the joy. And Pitt's still in it.
Yeah, crazy to think Pitt is still in it. Heinschel, shout out to him bouncing back.
Speaker 1 Congrats to the Panthers. Did Mercer end up beating Auburn or no? I think it was close.
Speaker 2 But when it started, Auburn edged him out.
Speaker 1 Okay.
Speaker 4 Yeah, it was close for a good, what was it, 15?
Speaker 1 There's a lot of those SEC games.
Speaker 4 20 seconds.
Speaker 1 Well,
Speaker 1 I actually thought 27 and a half would be
Speaker 1 wrong. You know, I thought for the Super Dog, I was down 20,
Speaker 1 and I saw 27 and a half.
Speaker 1 And,
Speaker 1
yeah, I have myself believing that the Mercer Bears are going to win that one. They're 9-2 now.
They lose their second game of the season by a lot.
Speaker 2 14-14, first quarter.
Speaker 1
27.5 just wasn't enough. Didn't appear to be enough.
And I had a lot of Auburn people because on the show on game day when I said, look for Mercer to cover and outright win.
Speaker 1 It's because I needed that.
Speaker 1
A cover is only five points. A win is the amount of the spread and five points.
So I needed that to catch up. I believe Herbstree is in the lead right now.
I believe he is pulling away.
Speaker 1
So I needed a big one. So I put it in the universe that they were going to outright win.
And the Auburn people just took the quote and put it out there.
Speaker 1 And then all of a sudden, I got a bunch of Auburn people saying, hi, how'd that Mercer game go? This guy doesn't fucking know ball. I was like, what?
Speaker 2 You also didn't know that Auburn's five-star true freshman quarterback was going to come in and run. I think he had three touchdowns and like 200 yards rushing.
Speaker 1
Yeah, he's done. And now I know.
And that's a big one for Alabama this weekend. Yeah.
Hey, good luck, Alabama. Got a tough one.
Yep. Got a horn's nest on her.
It's going to be crazy. At night.
Speaker 1
Stanford's Andrew Luck had a massive win over Cal. Happy for them getting that.
Maybe they're back on track.
Speaker 3
Maybe. I would love, honestly, I would love to see Andrew Luck with the headset on.
Got a coach.
Speaker 1 I felt like he did have the headset on.
Speaker 1 Exactly.
Speaker 3
You saw some pre-game. You mentioned a pre-game speech of the night before the game to the boys.
And then we all saw the live interview moment when the fumble got picked up and took to the house.
Speaker 3
Love seeing him live. Just boy, boy, boom.
But I would love to see him. I think Frank Wright or it's already come out that he'll be stepping down after this season as a coach.
Speaker 3
I believe I heard that some weeks ago. I would love to hear and see Andrew Luck on the sideline as a coach.
Maybe bring Stanford back.
Speaker 1 You think Andrew Luck is GM head coach?
Speaker 3 I think someone else could do the GM thing. I would love to see him because we know how he is as far as his mind when it comes to the ball and then the competitor that he is as well.
Speaker 3 So I would love to see him kind of just, you know, giving it back to the boys through that program. And me and Ty were talking about it before the show.
Speaker 3 I don't know if they'll ever be on the same level as these other bigger programs with the NIL stuff because you said they have to.
Speaker 4 Yeah, I don't know if that's real, but like they're one of the few schools who like it actually matters because like they're going to have Olympians and like swimming and diving and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 Like that stuff still very much matters.
Speaker 1
You're talking about RevShare? Yeah, exactly. Yeah, where the money's allocated towards and everything like that.
Yeah, yeah, because they do love their Olympics. Exactly.
Which is obviously huge.
Speaker 1 Andrew Luck, yeah, I think it was the practice the night before they showed it on game day. He was fired up talking about him.
Speaker 1 And then on the sideline, while he's giving that interview, he's like, while he's talking, he's watching back at the game. It's like, this guy's super invested, like general manager.
Speaker 1
Super invested. In an age, him saying, let's get him coaching again.
Maybe Andrew Luck is coaching this Stanford team next year going forward.
Speaker 5
Yeah. Don't you think his like post-game and his weekly press conference, he'd be awesome because he does seem like he's very open.
He would let you know how he feels. And he's so weirdly smart.
Speaker 5 I just like hearing him talk football. Anytime he, yeah, I've always been a huge fan of him.
Speaker 5 I know you played with him, but just hearing him talk football, like he seems like he's light years ahead of a lot of people. Loves ball.
Speaker 1 I mean, absolutely.
Speaker 5
You can tell. I mean, just that sideline interview.
Come on now. Like right there, I'd give him the job right there.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 And good luck to him with Stanford. Obviously, it's a big brand.
Speaker 1 I don't know if they've ever got more than 100 people in the stands for any other game other than Cal, but if anybody could do it, Andrew could definitely do it. So good luck to them.
Speaker 1 And then obviously the big storyline still in college ball is where the hell is Lane Kiffen going? That is a big storyline. Where's Lane Kiffen going?
Speaker 1 Because obviously that sets off a dominoes uh for everywhere else and everything else they got a massive game against mississippi state coming up this friday at the egg bowl he is set to make the announcement i guess on saturday with the athletic director the athletic director has come out and said coach kiffin and i
Speaker 1 or vice chancellor i'm sorry coach kiffin and i have had many pointed and positive conversations regarding his future at old miss including meeting today with chancellor boys while we discuss next step we know we cannot lose sight of what is most important our sixth-ranked team that is poised to finish a regular season in historic fashion.
Speaker 1 Despite the outside noise, Coach Kiffin is focused on preparing our team for the Egg Bowl. And together, we want to ensure that our players and coaches can concentrate fully on next Friday's game.
Speaker 1 This team is on the cusp of an unprecedented season, and it's imperative they feel the support of the Ole Miss family in the week ahead.
Speaker 1
An announcement on Coach Kiffin's future is expected Saturday following. the Egg Bowl.
That's letting our fans know. Can we get through this week, please?
Speaker 1 And then what we all want to know.
Speaker 1 That's the school sticking up for Kiffin because Coach Kiffin would like a little bit of time, probably. Like, hey, can I get some time here to potentially think about this?
Speaker 1
I'm also in the biggest position that I've been in some time. And our school has never been in this situation.
So I know there's a lot of everything.
Speaker 1 Everybody wants me to answer everything, including fans of Old Miss because when Transfer Portal is, what everything else is. Can we just worry about what we got going on right now for me?
Speaker 1 Now, is everybody around him that's doing the business of football certainly getting all the information? Definitely.
Speaker 1 But I think what this is, is Lane meeting with the chancellor and everything going like, I would like to not have to worry about all this right now.
Speaker 1 Can we just put together the best season that we've ever had? And can we beat Mississippi State? And then I'll give you an answer on Saturday.
Speaker 1 Like, I think that was the, can I please just get through this game and figure out what the hell I want to do?
Speaker 1 And then I'll give you an answer the next day or we'll give a little bit of, I think that's what that was from the chancellor and probably from Lane Kiffin.
Speaker 2 Very much so. And it's funny you say that because Winnedad Chamblis actually just put out a tweet, I think like an hour or so ago that basically said the similar thing right here from Trader Dad.
Speaker 2 To our fans, this team is completely locked in, living in the moment, and staying true to our one-and-oh mindset for the Egg Bowl and future games.
Speaker 2 We are unbothered by anything about next year and fully trusting Coach Kiffin's leadership to keep us moving toward our goals. So, that's feels like the message coming out of Ole Miss right here.
Speaker 1
Everybody's like, Hey, can you let us play this game at least? And then we'll get an answer for everybody. We get it, we get it, we get it.
Okay, but can we please?
Speaker 1 That's what that sounds like, and I'm happy they're doing that. But Ole Miss fans, Florida fans, LSU fans, and these other places are like, Yeah, yeah, good luck in the Egg Bowl.
Speaker 3 Do you think he knows?
Speaker 2 I don't.
Speaker 3 I don't think he knows. AJ already told us.
Speaker 5 Is this the ultimatum that we were talking about? The Saturday presser. That's the ultimatum.
Speaker 1
You got to make up your mind one way or the other. There was never an ultimatum, but I do think.
I know. No, but
Speaker 1 just to kind of counter that, I do think probably all parties were like, hey.
Speaker 1 We need an answer. Like, I assume everybody is saying the same thing, you know?
Speaker 1 So I don't know if it's an ultimatum put on them, but I would assume all parties are like, we need the fuck, because we got to move.
Speaker 1 And then, guess what's going to happen whenever the other place moves? There's going to be another coach in Victor. Like,
Speaker 1 they're like, basically, like, hey, we need an answer at some fucking point here. We're going to need this because when the transfer portal is for like what football is.
Speaker 1 Now, to Nick Saban's point that he put out very well on College Game Day, it's like the calendar and the schedule right now completely fucks the teams in this situation because like the coach staying with his team is just not going to be possible.
Speaker 1 And there's going to be a lot of teams that are going to be in the 9, 10, 11, 12 spot that might not be a blue blood. And their coach is probably going to have a lot of attention on them.
Speaker 1 And how many times is this going to happen going forward in the playoffs? Probably pretty regularly with how everything's kind of set up right now.
Speaker 1
So there's a lot of shit that has to kind of get figured out, obviously. And everybody, Coach Sabin's coming from the coach's angle.
Coach Sabin's like,
Speaker 1 you're damned if you do. Damned, like, this is not,
Speaker 1 you can't do this. From the players' perspective, it's like we need to know what the hell is going on, even though Winnedad says we're not focused by it.
Speaker 1 And from the fans' perspective, they're like, we need to know that you're focused on the most important part of the season, which is the transfer portal, which really is the most important part of like basically every single offseason now.
Speaker 2 Yeah, let's just say like hypothetically, Lane decides to go to LSU or Florida.
Speaker 1 And like Ole Miss is going to coach the playoffs. Yeah, he's good.
Speaker 2 But here's the thing. Like, he's playoffs are December 19th and 20th.
Speaker 1 And I think the next round is the 31st and the first that's when the transfer portal is so like are you going to be coaching ole miss while doing the transfer porter stuff for lsu or florida and everybody says the transfer portal is just crazy speed dating for like three four days where you got to try to learn as much as you possibly can about everybody find out the price and then boom you're moving on so it's like the new schools are like we need you fully focused on the shit what we're doing next year and then ole miss could potentially be like yeah we need our new coach to know what the hell they're going to eat.
Speaker 1 It's just a,
Speaker 1 it's a bad situation.
Speaker 4 And with those guidelines, like, what if they're seventh, right, in the college football playoff, but then they come out and Lane Kevin's not going to be their coach in the college football playoff committee.
Speaker 4
He's like, you know what? Fuck it. Let's put BYU and Texas Tech in.
We don't need Ole Miss. Don't even have a coach.
Speaker 1
They can do that. They can do that.
They put that in
Speaker 1
the clause at the bottom. The clause is the clause.
That'd be very unfair to the ball on it.
Speaker 1 It'd be very unfair.
Speaker 1 It's a shitty.
Speaker 4 And what if Trinidad's going with him? Like, I love that tweet.
Speaker 1
That's the old Miss fancy. I mentioned that on game day.
I was like, because that's a real thought. Because, like, the old Miss fans are like,
Speaker 1 oh, so not only are you leaving, you're going to take our entire good team. And Lacey.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Oh, man.
And that's a shit. That's a second.
Speaker 4 If he does leave.
Speaker 4 19. I think they are going with him.
Speaker 1
You don't know who the next coach is going to be. No.
Mike's coming in and woo him.
Speaker 4 Could be
Speaker 1
Chuck Weiss Jr. Might come in and woo him.
You never know what's going to to happen. Woo, woo, woo.
Next coach, maybe who?
Speaker 1 I don't love the setup for him, but I'd like to reiterate my fact or point that I made on game day. It's like he's allowed to be happy, dude.
Speaker 1 And he's also allowed to let them figure out this whole thing and not be the person that gets thrown into the first fire. You know,
Speaker 1 will there be other jobs that open up in the future?
Speaker 4 You think? No, this is it. This is the last year any college football coaches are being fired.
Speaker 1 So maybe he does have to make a decision right now. Forever.
Speaker 4 Yeah, for the next 50 years.
Speaker 1 But all of a sudden.
Speaker 5 There's never been this many big jobs available or this early, I feel like.
Speaker 1 Yeah, and will that continue or not? Probably not, right?
Speaker 1 We assume that everybody saw what happened whenever Penn State let go of James Franklin, and then every candidate for their job signed a new deal for more money than ever before.
Speaker 1
So maybe they'll wait for the firings until later. Maybe that'll be a forced decision.
But if you wait till later, then who's controlling transfer portal? You're behind Apollo. Yeah.
Speaker 1 There's just no answer.
Speaker 1 Now, Coach Sabin, I think,
Speaker 1
I don't know who said it. I think it was Coach Saban that said it, but I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't know if this is his exact thing.
Somebody said it in a conversation.
Speaker 1
Coach Sabin was a part of the conversation. I think it was Coach Sabin's brain.
But if they would have kept the spring transfer portal and instead of doing spring ball,
Speaker 1 just do summer and do workouts through and just go into training camp, you know, because nobody's really doing spring ball anymore. Nobody does a spring game anymore.
Speaker 1 Everybody's scared to death of spring.
Speaker 1 So if you do a spring transfer portal and then you give more time before season to build team, because the thing that was bad about the spring transfer portal is there's no time before training camp, basically.
Speaker 1 Spring ball is already over. So now we got nothing with these guys except for summer workouts and then training camp.
Speaker 1 So I think the answer to that would be spring transfer portal so that you don't have these issues with the whole thing. And then you would have to build up some sort of summer into training camp.
Speaker 1
program and what the rules and guidelines would be. But in some of these places, it's 175 degrees in the middle middle of the summer.
So, you know, how they handle all of it.
Speaker 1 And then schooling is involved in this, obviously, because it matters.
Speaker 1 A lot of these players are making 15x what their teachers are making in the classes that they're in. What are we going to school for to have a job? Have one.
Speaker 1
But I'll certainly respect what you're saying. I appreciate that.
School matters.
Speaker 1 Always will. It's smart.
Speaker 1 You have a degree? Yep. AJ, you have a degree? Yeah.
Speaker 1 You guys are awesome. You have a degree?
Speaker 1 Connor, you have a degree? I don't know, man.
Speaker 4 I got a freaking DM on us in French.
Speaker 1 So you still don't know if you graduate? I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 That's awesome. That's kind of a conundrum.
Speaker 1 I got this hat, so I know that.
Speaker 4 If I had pulling everything, it's going to fucking fall.
Speaker 1
Yeah, we saw his graduation. Yeah.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 So you graduate? Did you graduate? Yeah.
Speaker 1 Fox, did you graduate? Yes, sir. Bruce, did you graduate? Yeah.
Speaker 1 Nick, how many times did you graduate? Twice, actually.
Speaker 1 Gumpy.
Speaker 8 Hell yeah, brother.
Speaker 4 School hard knocks, baby.
Speaker 1 Hell yeah, Gumps. Admit.
Speaker 1 Whoa.
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah. He didn't get his degree.
I don't know if DePaul gave him one or not. He did not.
That was a good one. Might be one of those songs.
Speaker 3 They got his degree.
Speaker 1
I do not believe he did. He got his master's degree.
Booze and degree. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1
All right. College game day this weekend is headed to Ann Arbor for, obviously, the game.
How do you feel, AJ, about this one?
Speaker 1
Obviously, it's been a long time since the Buckeyes have beat the Michigan Wolverines. This one's up in Michigan.
How do you feel going in?
Speaker 1 This feels like your best chance to maybe stop the trend of you guys losing to that team from up north. Uh-oh.
Speaker 5 Yeah, I mean, I feel pretty good.
Speaker 5 Obviously, Cardinal Tate Jeremiah Smith not playing this past week makes people worry a little bit, I guess, but hopefully they will be ready to roll in Ann Arbor on Saturday.
Speaker 5
But no, we, yeah, this is... The season starts now for Ohio State.
We know that. This is the biggest game, and
Speaker 5 got to find a way to take care of business here and then continue to roll when it truly matters.
Speaker 1 I can't wait to get up there. I don't, for some reason,
Speaker 1
I always think it's not going to be good in Michigan. And then we get there and we're in like a tailgating parking lot, and it's like very good.
The vibes are always immaculate.
Speaker 1 And then we get into the stadium, it's just electrifying in there. So, very pumped to get up there.
Speaker 1 Cannot wait to celebrate the Big Ten wrapping up its season here and the Ohio State Buckeyes dominating year. Can it be derailed once again from the Michigan Wolverine?
Speaker 11
This is Kevin Clark from Manscaped. It's that time again.
The holidays are here. And if your partner's asking what to get you, make it easy.
Tell them to add Manscaped to the list. Guys,
Speaker 11 you know, you know, you know what I'm saying. I got the stubble around the face.
Speaker 11
Maybe I grow the mustache out a little bit. You know, got to keep the neck very, very clean.
Can't have stray hairs. My looks are important.
All right. I'm not afraid to
Speaker 11
put that out there. Okay.
I gotta look good. Gotta look good.
It's a podcast game. People say it's an audio medium.
It's not. It's all things now.
We got clips there, social media clips.
Speaker 11 Do you think I'm gonna have stray hair? Come on. From the beard hedger to the lawnmower trimmer, landscape keeps you clean, confident, and ready for every holiday gathering.
Speaker 11
These aren't just gifts, they're smart upgrades for your daily routine. So this season, give the gift of grooming and confidence.
It lasts long after the wrapping's gone.

Speaker 1
Hey, he's Magical. That's AJ Hawk.
The Toxic Tables here at Boston Connor, and that Ty Schmidt. One half of the hammer.
Speaker 1 Cowboys AP Tone is here, a nine-year NFL vet, Darius Jade Butler.
Speaker 1
The boys behind the glass are obviously kicking ass on this particular every action Monday. We appreciate that.
We also know that the internet has been doing its thing.
Speaker 1 I put out a tweet this morning, like I do every single Monday of football season asking for people to send in their thoughts, their emotions, their feelings about their favorite football team.
Speaker 1 All you got to use is...
Speaker 1 I don't want to overreact, but
Speaker 1 this morning was an active one. Obviously, there's a lot of different feelings from a lot of different teams and a lot of different communities.
Speaker 1
Ty, you go through these every single week and pick out your favorites. I believe we have 12 of them today.
What was the kind of the narrative or the sense today?
Speaker 4 I'd say quite a few teams have kind of just given up and they just don't feel like overreacting anymore.
Speaker 4 Yeah, Yeah, it's getting a lot harder to find some of those ones.
Speaker 4 And then you have days like today where it seems like no matter how many scrolls you have, it's just a lot of people are upset with the Eagles and a lot of people are upset with the Steelers.
Speaker 4 So like that was a lot of it.
Speaker 1 Shout out Pennsylvania football fans. Exactly.
Speaker 1
Yeah, because Ohio football fans would be the same way, but their teams are where they are. Exactly.
So that is kind of how it goes with that tribe of people or peoples.
Speaker 1 Let's dive into these overreactions, shall we? This is from Tone Diggs from Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 Hashtag, I don't want want to overreact, but I'm going to tie my feet to cinder blocks and accidentally drop a 30-pound frozen turkey into the biggest pot of boiling oil I can find because that will be less painful than having to watch another snap of the team that calls themselves the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 1
Hashtag, important one here, don't drink and drive. Hashtag, happy Thanksgiving.
Tone, do you think you're overreacting in this moment or not?
Speaker 2 No, I don't. And this also is a bit of a dual threat overreaction tweet.
Speaker 2 It's one, it's getting my point across about how disgusted I am about the current state of the Pittsburgh Steelers while also reminding people, hey, happy Thanksgiving. It's Thanksgiving week.
Speaker 2 Don't drink and drive Wednesday night because it's a big drink and drive night for all you college kids. Colin Uber, please.
Speaker 1 And also,
Speaker 2 if you haven't seen the fire safety videos, be careful. You cannot drop a frozen turkey into a pot of boiling oil because then the whole house catches on fire.
Speaker 1 But overall. And also cinder blocks to your feet.
Speaker 2 So that I would die. Skip your point.
Speaker 2 So that I couldn't get away, so that the oil would get on me.
Speaker 2 I would catch on fire so that I don't have to watch Josh Allen drag his balls across the Steelers' face after 10 days rest after the worst game that he's ever played.
Speaker 1
Got you. Lipton T type situation potentially around the corner.
And
Speaker 1
I appreciate you said this thing has layers down. Let's not just read the, this is layered.
There's, there's a bunch of different ways to kind of end it.
Speaker 1 And then watching the Steelers, I'd rather do less than all those things. And it's because you knew that the team wasn't going to go and every week you're trying to prove that fact?
Speaker 1 Or do you think you guys are just bad fans? You guys are six and five, still in the middle of playoff on Aaron Rodgers coming back healthy next week. You guys still have it all in front of you.
Speaker 1 Your team invested 30 million in a wide receiver, trade made some big trades.
Speaker 1 Do you not think maybe you guys should just be pumped up about the whole entire journey of the Pittsburgh Steelers this year?
Speaker 2
Kind of, but it's also because I'm a fucking idiot and I had hope going to this game. I said, Oh, the boys are playing all right right now.
The Bears, you know, they might be a paper tiger, okay?
Speaker 2
And we're going to be able to prove that on Sunday. No, we were not.
We were the more of the paper tiger, the worst of the paper tigers,
Speaker 1 the
Speaker 2 tracing paper where you can barely you don't even you can see through the paper that's what the pittsburgh steelers are right now um it's a mess i let them i let them play with my emotions every single week and season and just for the same to happen every single people giving up right yep six and five
Speaker 1 six and five
Speaker 1 ajall left what did you watch any of the game yeah of course what do you mean they could have won that game could have uh okay but we all kind of knew which is what i think steelers fans are saying that's what steelers fans are doing.
Speaker 2
It's like the same dumb shit happens. We're up, I think it was 14-7.
We're on the 30 going in, run the worst tush push of all time. So instead of going up 21-7,
Speaker 2 they get the ball and then go back and make it 14-14. So it's like, oh, that's exactly what happened.
Speaker 1 But didn't you guys have an innovative tush push?
Speaker 2 We did have a sick, innovative
Speaker 2
tush push from Kenneth Gainwell. He got down to the one and then we scored on the next play.
That was sick. That was cool.
That was something that we don't normally do.
Speaker 1
Steelers fans are certainly going through it, and they have been all season, especially with the ride that it's been. And Aaron Rodgers will will say, R-E-L-A-X, dude.
Why don't we relax?
Speaker 1 We still got a lot of games left. But Pittsburgh fans are also going through it because you remember talking about rods.
Speaker 1 A couple weeks ago, it was said that the Pittsburgh Pirates were possibly maybe going to be primed up to make a deal of $80 million for free agent signing.
Speaker 1 And I literally, in real time, once reading this headline, said, that's not real. That sounds fake.
Speaker 1 How is that even possible that they were ready to almost potentially prime up a multi-million dollar offer that they've never done before?
Speaker 1
Oh, well, the guy signed to the other place, but they were going to make the offer. That's exciting.
Turns out, that's all bullshit. They were never going to do anything, never forced to do anything.
Speaker 1 This all came together so quick, we didn't even get a chance to really wrap our minds about it, but maybe.
Speaker 1
Maybe. I got a simple question.
Maybe they were going to.
Speaker 2 We're just going to trust what the athletic puts out now.
Speaker 1
That's a fair question. A lot of journalism stuff happening right now all around us.
Let's just keep it moving. All I'm saying is, Yens are fans.
Speaker 1
It's all angles. Yeah.
But the pens.
Speaker 1 Good?
Speaker 1 No, good. Okay.
Speaker 1
Thank you for this. Riverhounds.
Riverhounds just won the whole goddamn thing. Zero-0.
Won the whole thing.
Speaker 1 Wow. Yeah.
Speaker 1 That's soccer, right? Yeah. Riverhounds just won the USL, brother.
Speaker 5 That was on TV, actually. I saw a little bit of it on TV, I believe, this weekend.
Speaker 1 CBS, yes, I watched it as well. That thing won the penalties after a really cagey, a 0-0 affair.
Speaker 1 The Riverhounds goalie was standing on his head basically all damn USL season, certainly through the USL playoffs.
Speaker 1
And it goes the penalties. Local Pittsburgh guy, Meister, I believe, is his name.
Is that
Speaker 1 Meister, his last name?
Speaker 1
Pittsburgh kid, went to Upper St. Clair.
Very good player. He had a penalty scored.
I think all the boys did. So,
Speaker 1
yeah, congrats to Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Pittsburgh Penguins are good.
Pirates were maybe potentially going to possibly think about maybe spending money sometime because they got the cyan pitcher.
Speaker 1
And the Pittsburgh Steelers are still 6-5. They're still 6-5.
There's Pittsburgh Riverhounds right there. Champs.
Speaker 5 What's the USL? Is this affiliated with
Speaker 5 the other one?
Speaker 1 No, so the MLS
Speaker 1 is the MLS. And then the USL, I believe, would be considered the one right below.
Speaker 1 So like if this was in relegation world, like in the
Speaker 1 England area, I believe the Riverhounds would be going up to the Premier League because, and then three of the bottom teams would be going down to this particular league. But there's no relegation.
Speaker 1 There's owners who've spent money on MLS teams and owners that haven't spent money on MLS teams.
Speaker 1 So the owners that spend the money on MLS teams are saying, why would we ever in a million years agree to potentially go to a smaller league? We wouldn't. Okay.
Speaker 1
England has that because it's been hundreds of years. That's how they do it.
We're not signing up for that, even though everybody in America thinks it would be awesome for American sports.
Speaker 1 And the Pittsburgh Riverhounds probably win the MLS if the Vancouver White Caps don't. Did you see this?
Speaker 4 I don't think so.
Speaker 1 Buddy.
Speaker 1 Burholter. What league?
Speaker 2 What day was this?
Speaker 1 MLS. Saturday.
Speaker 3 Pri Inter is going to win that.
Speaker 1 No, Vancouver's got the best ball striker in the history of the United States of America named Sebastian Burhalter. This guy is the boy of Greg Burhalter.
Speaker 1 This boy is a player, and they won in penalties over the weekend against another team.
Speaker 8 LAFC.
Speaker 1 There it is. They're good.
Speaker 8
Two of the best teams. They got Sony from Tottenham Hotspurs, paid him like $15 million to get him to LA.
He scored two, scored a free kick in the 95th to tie it.
Speaker 2 Where are they getting that money?
Speaker 4 I did see that. That free kick was absurd.
Speaker 8 White caps won it in penalties.
Speaker 2 Burhalter took the first one.
Speaker 1
Burhalter's a guy. We need to to just know this.
When the World Cup comes around, we are going to be pumped that we know Burhalter. I think he's going to make a couple free kicks in the World Cup.
Speaker 1
I think he'll probably potentially take shirt off at some point. I think he's got a 14-pack.
Very, very handsome. Loves America.
Loves America. Was born in London.
Speaker 1
His dad American playing for Crystal Palace. Obviously, all that stuff.
But he's like very proud to be an American, which is what we, this is what we need on this team. He's not the only one.
Speaker 1
A bunch are. And he was on the Concaf pod.
And him, Gumpy, and Jeff Cameron were having a conversation, which is really cool. They're becoming like a men's national, U.S.
Speaker 1 men's national team podcast, basically, which is very awesome.
Speaker 1 But I went in there to talk to him and I said, hey, it feels like your team, we're not going to be just flopping all over the place, right? We're not doing that.
Speaker 1
America doesn't like whenever our team flops. He goes, absolutely not.
We got dogs everywhere. We're not floppers.
Like, that's what he said. It's like a point.
They got in a fight two games ago.
Speaker 5
It's like. Oh, yeah.
I saw some of that. Are we favorites to win the World Cup?
Speaker 1
We should be, but we're not. People are sleeping on us.
People are sleeping on us. That's right where we want to be.
Yep. I like that.
Speaker 1
That's right But remember, Ponchattino gets hired very late in the World Cup cycle to become the U.S. men's national team coach.
Ponchatino has had success in the past and is a dog.
Speaker 1
English is certainly his second language, but it was very late, and everybody thought the U.S. men's national team was kind of ruining it.
But he had a mindset the entire time.
Speaker 1
Like, I don't care about the gold cup. I don't care about the super duper cup.
I don't care about this other cup. I care about the World Cup.
And he was trying to find his team and set in the culture.
Speaker 1
And I think they found a company. Wouldn't we all agree with that? I think that is legit.
And it's, we're not floppers. We're dogs.
And we are very proud to be an American.
Speaker 1 That is kind of what it feels like.
Speaker 8 Yeah, they're a very talented bunch. And the key part is here, they're in pot one for the draw because they're a host.
Speaker 8 So you get a nice, favorable draw to get into the knockout round and then just take off from there.
Speaker 1 And if you get into the knockout round, obviously that's when you can just start really, you know, taking over, gaining steam. And from Luna
Speaker 1 to obviously Burhalter, we still got Polithic, who will be a player. We got studs.
Speaker 8 He scored. Polisic scored a massive goal in the Milan Derby yesterday, too.
Speaker 1 Like everyone's balling right now.
Speaker 1 And the goalie.
Speaker 1 Aren't both of our goalies good?
Speaker 8 Freeze stood on his head last night for NYCFC to make a massive upset in the MLS Cup as well.
Speaker 1
Yeah, so I think we have a, and our team will fight you, which I think is all we really want. Most important.
Yeah. We're not flopping around.
Speaker 1 You actually quote-tweeted the Concafa clip and said, if this team's not flopping, I can be back in on him. And I think that's a real thing.
Speaker 4 Yeah, I don't really care if we win or lose, but if we go out there and we look soft and lose, that's problem. If we go out there and beat the fuck out of teams and then lose, let's go soccer.
Speaker 1
Like I'm in. Let's go soccer.
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Go ahead. AJ, you feel the same way?
Speaker 5 No, I'm saying they're going to,
Speaker 5
score doesn't matter. As long as you know you played the U.S.
team, like you're, you're beat up pretty good.
Speaker 5 Hopefully we win the game, but you want to be that team that everybody is scared to play because they're physically intimidated by how your pace of play and the pressure you put on.
Speaker 1
Pace of play. Isn't that the thing with Ponch? Ponch has a relentless pace of play.
Like kind of like Carlisle. Kind of like Carlisle.
We run people off the field. I think the best coach in the world.
Speaker 1 Who's that?
Speaker 4
Ponch. Ponch Ponchatino.
The best of all time. Much better than Poop Guardiola.
Speaker 1
Oh, that much. Oh, you're saying bad things about Poop Guardiola.
I don't think you know Pep at all. No, I don't.
Speaker 4 I just, I know he's a lot of people would consider him like the greatest skipper of all time, but he's no Ponch Ponchatino.
Speaker 1
I know that. Yeah.
I know that. You know, Ponch Ponchatino actually played ink coach at Burnley at one point.
No big deal. No.
Yeah.
Speaker 8 Esmanuel.
Speaker 4
Oh, shit. Thank God.
Okay.
Speaker 1
Esmanuel. Yeah.
Okay. Oh my god.
Speaker 4 Campbell bringing Burnley tactics.
Speaker 1
I mean, all of a sudden me too, actually. That is much better.
No offense, Burnley. Yeah, respect.
Speaker 1 Respect, respect, respect.
Speaker 5 What position?
Speaker 4
All of them. Whichever one you need.
The most important ones? Yeah.
Speaker 3 But primarily center back.
Speaker 1
I know what those are. Did you hear him talk to the media? No.
Oh, it was awesome.
Speaker 1
You should like him. I do like him.
I love him. No, but
Speaker 1 you would like to hear him.
Speaker 1
I love him. I don't care what he does.
Absolutely not. I did not.
Yeah, until the world cup.
Speaker 4
I certainly will not be looking at anything. Like Berhalter, I love this guy.
I don't give a rat's ass until he's dawning the stars and stripes. You know, good luck to me.
Speaker 1 Summer 2026. I'm just telling you to give a little
Speaker 1 breath. You got some names.
Speaker 4 Okay, it doesn't find its way to my algorithm. I don't know why.
Speaker 1 I don't know why. I'm hoping Ponchatino, Ponchatino, Ponchatino.
Speaker 4 I'll take all the Ponch Ponchatinho I can stomach.
Speaker 1 You remember the Elko press
Speaker 1
interaction a few weeks ago? Yes. Ponchatino, Ponchatino, same thing, and English second language.
So him trying to find words to tell these people they need to fucking.
Speaker 1 I do like that. Yeah, I'll tell you, it is.
Speaker 4 I'll watch it after the show.
Speaker 1
And he loves America. He loves America.
Talks about the greatest job, the whole thing. It's like, all right, dude, let's go win this thing.
It's in America.
Speaker 1 And you said the hype is real down in South Florida, obviously.
Speaker 3
Oh, yeah, absolutely. I mean, obviously, it's a melting pot.
A lot of people from a lot of different parts of the world, but people are very, very excited.
Speaker 3 I believe, shit, maybe last night, my drivers told me it's going to be seven games here or seven different places or something like that, seven or eight. So, yeah,
Speaker 1
all the games are here. What? It's the host nation.
I hope we have that. Yeah, I think they got like 60 games here.
Or seven places, seven venues? Oh, oh, like in Miami.
Speaker 1 I mean, it's soccer, so I don't fucking know, okay?
Speaker 1 I was, yeah, oh,
Speaker 1
I've been in so many of those combos. The guy said the number seven, and then you swooped.
Oh, yeah. That's it.
Speaker 1
That's where you from again. Let me pull.
Let me pull. Let me pull.
Seven. There were seven somethings, man.
Seven somethings feels like it's an important number.
Speaker 2 11 cities in the U.S.
Speaker 1
Yeah, seven games probably in Miami. In Miami, yeah.
Probably seven games in Miami.
Speaker 1 It's going to be hot down there for now. Isn't the, wait, is the final?
Speaker 4 No, it's at Jerry World.
Speaker 2 Yeah, that's. Okay.
Speaker 1 Oh, you know that.
Speaker 4 Yeah.
Speaker 1 You know Jerry's Washington from the 50.
Speaker 1 Bring grass in?
Speaker 1 I think everywhere, yeah.
Speaker 4 Every single stadium.
Speaker 1
Which is obviously a big talking point. It certainly will be about the NFL players saying, what's this all about? It's fucking other sports.
It's a a world sport
Speaker 5 we don't need the we don't need the stadium where it rises and lowers and they grow it underneath like there it's true like there's still seams in
Speaker 5 when it rises up you know it's actually at metlife finals at metlife oh
Speaker 1 they did the club world cup final there too man the super duper 100 million one yeah it's terrible why would they do it outside club world cup yeah let's not we got dumps like what are we got domes everywhere let's have perfect weather it's a super bowl it's a world cup i guess soccer doesn't look right in a dome i agree.
Speaker 3 In my opinion,
Speaker 1 it should be outside.
Speaker 2 I'm thinking outdoor air conditioning.
Speaker 1 When I want to land at sea, I want to throw up. That was Qatar.
Speaker 1
I don't think we have the same weather. Maybe Miami.
I don't know. Maybe down in Miami, it could get real hot, especially with that humidity down there.
Speaker 1 But in Qatar, sorry, I believe they did have to make outside air conditioners blowing on the field because of how hot it was.
Speaker 1
It's very hot over there. Yeah.
Yeah. Very, very hot.
Here, we got, we'll see how the fields are.
Speaker 1
Should be good, and it's American. Millions of people died.
Let's go to the next overreaction for our football, the best football. Lord Zito, Viva Lazito, riding high.
Speaker 1 Hashtag, I don't want to overreact, but Ben Johnson is the ultimate difference maker. 12 weeks into his first season, he already has more wins than Iberflu's had in his entire time with Dub Bears.
Speaker 1
We got Doug Eye, hashtag Dub Bears, with incredible AI work out of Zito there with Ben Johnson in the crown on. They should feel great about where they're at.
Zito's buzzing around a Thunderdome.
Speaker 1 Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 The
Speaker 1 peak
Speaker 1 optimizing of the Thunderdome is about to happen with Zito around here.
Speaker 1
We had an ice cream maker in here for the last three years. Nobody's ever touched it.
Zito automatically makes ice cream with it.
Speaker 1
We have a margarita maker that has been flipped into an ice cold Jack Daniels. We got ice cold booze flowing up.
We got more internet bonsai through this place. We have stuff being hung on walls.
Speaker 1
I mean, Zito right now is in his bag, I think, is how you would describe it. But also with the Bears winning, I think has helped his entire mood.
Oh, yeah. I think life is a lot better for Zito.
Speaker 1 How about his gout?
Speaker 5 How about the gout though with the victory steaks?
Speaker 1
It's coming. Yeah, these are big steaks he's house, and obviously he should enjoy them all.
And I like how tender and juicy they all look whenever he posts it.
Speaker 1
It's obviously a very, very well-cooked thing. But the Chicago Bears are for real.
And they are duck kings of Duck North.
Speaker 1 And everybody that's a Bears fan is living like kings right now, including Zito. And
Speaker 1 this is what Sunday nights are now for Zito
Speaker 1 it's no longer just a celebration when I was growing up we go down to a Pirates game because it was a cheap ticket we're gonna see Zambelli fireworks for sure if the Pirates win that's a bonus for Zito if the Bears won I'm gonna eat a steak yeah I'm just gonna treat myself to a steak it was such an abnormal thing it was such like a holiday a celebration of sorts now it's just a weekly occurrence it's a new routine I'm eating shit out of a perfectly cooked steak I'm gonna have a little broccoli and I'm gonna pack it down that is the biggest piece of broccolini I've ever seen in my life
Speaker 4 I mean, it looks like he went out to his backyard and ripped an entire bush out of the ground.
Speaker 1 Zito,
Speaker 1 Zito, you're not saying you're cooking this, right? You ordered this?
Speaker 1 You ordered it again.
Speaker 1 That looked like in 1933 or something. That was 1933?
Speaker 1 Who?
Speaker 1
H.G. Tavern.
H.G. Tavern.
Good snakes.
Speaker 4 Executive chef is, you know, St. Elmo's guy.
Speaker 1
So. Yeah, St.
Broccoli. Yeah, I've seen that broccolini before.
Hey, you earned it, Z.
Speaker 1 Baby z you earned it zero z let's go to the next one shall we this one is obviously a loud philly crowd this one's from michael getdes at underscore michael getdies hashtag i don't want to react but if kevin payubo didn't wake up with a horse's head in his bed today then i don't know what the value of big dom has for the birds fire petolo and that feel to punt it your own three gibson into the sun and move on to the fraud bears hashtag go birds dickheads wow love that love everything about that petullo's not well liked i saw a lot of people calling for big dom to do what big dom's supposed to do here bingo for the good of the city big dom i thought that's what it was about that's what everybody's kind of saying coach siriani he asked to support petullo he hired him right what the city of philadelphia seemingly the johns are saying over there is hey dom that's not your job Hey, Big Dom, your job is to look out for the city.
Speaker 1 That is kind of what you do around here.
Speaker 1 What are you doing?
Speaker 1 Is that just you were were catching?
Speaker 4 Yeah, without a doubt. And that's why I kind of said, you know what, I'll go with the godfather route.
Speaker 4 The horse's head in the bed, I think, is better than people basically saying, hey, Big Dom, go take this guy somewhere and shoot him in the back of the head, which is what a lot of it was.
Speaker 4 Like, people don't want him fired. They don't want him out of town.
Speaker 4 They want him fucking dead.
Speaker 1 Philly.
Speaker 4 Yeah.
Speaker 4
Exactly. And, you know, Sirianni, by association, gets a lot of that as well.
But he's the head coach of an 8-in three football team. So, you know, I think Sirianni, you know, you maybe
Speaker 4 you're right to say, hey, Kevin Yublo, Yublo, you know, this guy's sucks.
Speaker 1 Pa Yublo. I think you can just get rid of that.
Speaker 4 Kevin Yublo,
Speaker 4
this guy sucks at his job. That's what everybody's saying.
And this isn't like a one-week thing. This has been going on
Speaker 1
since week one. Every problem that the Eagles have, the Eagles fans think.
If we'll get rid of this guy, it's all gone. Think about how happy AJ will be.
AJ will be getting the ball.
Speaker 1
Jalen won't have to deal with this entire thing. Maybe Saquon can do the Saquon stuff.
This guy, not the same as last year. Last year, good.
Remember? This year, not good. This guy, move him.
Speaker 1
AJ, that'd be a crazy move. We just saw Chip get fired out there in Las Vegas.
Obviously, moves have been made mid-season before. Pittsburgh Steelers fired their offensive coordinator last year.
Speaker 1 It is something that is feasible and possible. Do you think it's plausible with the Philadelphia Eagles?
Speaker 5 I think anything is possible with the Eagles.
Speaker 5 I feel like, yeah, with the reaction that we get every single game they play, like, okay, let's say the Eagles pulled that game out and they won yesterday. Then, like, are we still
Speaker 1 killing all whatever you call them now? Yes, Patolo. What do you call them? Patullo.
Speaker 5 Yes, are you going?
Speaker 5 I have seen, like, I even saw a clip of Nick Foles's on a podcast talking about just like all the route combinations, how they're kind of predictable, and they're not, you know, they're not playing to the strengths of their receivers and everything.
Speaker 5 So, I'm sure there's definitely something to it. I cannot imagine what those meetings are like.
Speaker 5 What do you think the staff meetings are like there where you're trying like every single, like, just trying to figure it out, trying to get going? What do you think? Hey, we're about to get going.
Speaker 5
Like, I mean, AJ was, AJ was hot early. He had multiple targets early in that game, multiple balls.
Like, you would think that would calm things down, but it didn't really.
Speaker 1 Do you think Sirianni's telling Coach Petolo that on the internet they're calling him payublo, and he doesn't think that?
Speaker 1 Do you think Sirianni's opening meetings with that, or how do you think that goes?
Speaker 4
I would assume so. He's probably praising Vic Fangio for about 15 minutes and be like, unfortunately, Kevin, everybody hates your fucking gun.
I don't really got anything positive to say about you.
Speaker 4
We better keep winning. You know, because you remember Brian Johnson a couple of years ago.
It's kind of same deal. You know, I didn't fire him midseason, but as soon as we got beat in the playoffs,
Speaker 4
you know, I beheaded the guy. Had to.
Didn't have a choice.
Speaker 1 Why don't you call plays?
Speaker 1 Because I'm the same
Speaker 1
do it. I saw MCDC do it.
I saw MCDC do it.
Speaker 4
Yeah, and he looked pretty good. You know, he needed Jameer Gibbs to run for 800 yards to beat the fucking Giants.
So, yeah,
Speaker 4 if we want to act like MCDC's, you know, Tom Landry or, you know, Bill Walsh, we could do that.
Speaker 4 That's fine.
Speaker 1 I'm the fucking fucking CEO of this football team.
Speaker 4 I hire Kevin Petulo. If he can't get the job done,
Speaker 4 that's going to be on him. And then maybe next year,
Speaker 4 I do dust off the old playbook and I call players.
Speaker 1
Oh, really? Yeah, we'll see. I don't know.
Wow. I don't know.
But, you know, hey, this is my decision.
Speaker 4
And I understand this guy sucks at his job. But it's close to holidays.
Thanksgiving is right around corn Christmas. You know, I'm not going to be able to do that.
Speaker 1 What's your favorite side? What's your favorite Thanksgiving side?
Speaker 4 I eat dog food only for Thanksgiving.
Speaker 4
Don't even cook a turkey. It takes way too long.
25-pounder. That takes you, what, like 16, 18 hours.
I'm a football coach. You think I got fucking time to do that? Of course not.
Speaker 4 So, you know, we'll see. I might do like
Speaker 4
a bacon mix. Yeah, exactly.
If I'm really feeling up to it, you know, I might get like one of the nice bags of purina. You know, like you feed your dog if he has a bad tummy.
Speaker 4 Like, maybe I do that for Thanksgiving special occasion, but I don't have time to eat. Okay.
Speaker 1 They're calling. You got a lot of drama over there.
Speaker 4
Yeah, they're calling for my job every fucking week. I won Super Bowl last year.
I'm eight and three this year, and they're acting like I'm fucking, you know, Brandon Staley.
Speaker 4 So I need to, you know, I'm trying to just keep my head above water every single week.
Speaker 1
All right, let's go to the next overreaction. That's probably a good idea, Coach.
Thank you for joining us, Coach Tyrioni, from Corey Buchanan. Hashtag, I don't want to overreact.
Speaker 1
But the Bucs are cooked. Get toilet Todd in this entire shitty coaching staff Walmart application.
Absolutely embarrassing the way the Bucs defense has played the last three games.
Speaker 1
Come back soon, Baker. You're our only hope.
Baker getting hurt. Blowout loss like that.
Defense, obviously, playing against a juggernaut. I mean, it has looked not good for the Bucs.
Speaker 1 Is that three straight now? Yeah. Losses?
Speaker 1 I think.
Speaker 1 Yep. Pats, bills, and then...
Speaker 1 Three straight, I think.
Speaker 4 Yeah, it went five-week Patriots, bills, and now, yeah, yesterday.
Speaker 1
It looked so good there for a while. Yeah.
I mean, even with all the early wins, Baker was
Speaker 3 magic late.
Speaker 2 Three straight and four or five.
Speaker 3 Walk-off field goals.
Speaker 1 Yeah, last Playboys. Last Playboys.
Speaker 3
Yeah, exactly. We're close, close, close.
And then now you get kind of this mid-season stretch. Guys are banged up.
Speaker 3 Now your quarterback's banged up, and this defense has not been doing them any favors.
Speaker 2 They started 5-1.
Speaker 1
Cool. This happened a couple of times now with this Tampa Buccaneers with Baker at the home.
And obviously, injuries are a part of that whole thing. And Baker's happy.
Speaker 1 It's nothing, you know, structurally.
Speaker 1 I mean, but what Matthew Safford did last night was outrageous. I don't know if anybody's stopping him, but obviously getting blown out is not good news for a team that has hopes.
Speaker 1 Every time they show Coach Todd Bulls on a sideline, there's no nothing.
Speaker 2 I thought the same thing last night.
Speaker 1 They show him a lot, and it's just normally just the same exact reaction.
Speaker 1 I assume he's a guy that doesn't want to get too high or too low, like always wants to be the same. But your fans will definitely get to a point where, what does this guy do? I don't see him doing it.
Speaker 1
Jim Caldwell is kind of in the same boat. Jim Caldwell was my first head coach, obviously was the head coach whenever we went to the Super Bowl and lost it.
I love this.
Speaker 1 I love everything about how much fun they were having out there. But
Speaker 1
he never really got too high or too low. It was like always the same exact guy.
That's like kind of his style. That was his strategy.
That was his entire technique.
Speaker 1
I wonder if Todd Bowell is the same way. And they just catch him on camera every time doing his thing.
And then they go, Well, we're continuing to lose. You're doing nothing.
So we need to get better.
Speaker 1 I do wonder how that all goes.
Speaker 5 Yeah, if you don't win, if you don't win, no matter what, whether you're like, say you're a super high-energy guy and the sideline's going crazy, yeah, or you are very stoic and don't have much reaction.
Speaker 5 If you're winning, you're the genius and it's great. And then if you're losing, then you suck and they want you fired.
Speaker 1 Yeah, everything's sweet whenever you're winning. And then Mr.
Speaker 1
Starts losing some games, and everybody starts pointing fingers a little differently. Let's go to the next overreaction, shall we? Riley Lewis at Lewis Riley.
I like how you did that.
Speaker 1 Hashtag I don't want to overreact. But
Speaker 1 Shane Stankin is a fraud. Oh, no.
Speaker 1 There are a lot of these today.
Speaker 1 I was, quite frankly, I was shocked.
Speaker 1
He sounds like it. Up 14 on the Chiefs, and he thinks it's time to coast.
It only took two weeks for this team to go from first place in the AFC to now making a playoffs.
Speaker 1
No way this team wins in Klein Town or the Stride House. Hashtag clean house.
Jesus. Jesus, no.
That's a little bit too overreacting of an overreaction here. They're still the damn Chiefs.
Okay.
Speaker 1
They're still the damn Chiefs. But on that note, I did not like what I saw either.
That was a tough game to watch. I think a lot of flags made it a very difficult game to watch.
Speaker 1 I mean, there was a flag on basically every single play. And if there wasn't a flag, there's people begging for flags.
Speaker 1 And on the defensive front, it feels like if you run crossing routes against us, we're in trouble.
Speaker 1 It feels like we are in in trouble and i think this was something that coach lou anarumo like circled and was excited about and mooney obviously first game back so who knows how game shape and everything like that he is and how we will be going down there but i think lou anarumo was excited we had two number one corners so that he could go man and then andy reed said that's cute man that's really cute Are they as fast as our guys?
Speaker 1 And are they going to be able to run just directly across the field every single time? And
Speaker 1 is this going to happen to us against everybody? Or is it Rashid Rice and Xavier Worthy a little bit different animals?
Speaker 3
Yeah, we'll figure it out. It was Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.
And, you know, they just got dominated, moved the ball too well. They had 33 first downs to our 10.
Speaker 3 You had 10 first downs all day, and then they absolutely dominated.
Speaker 3 We had 33 to 10, so you're not going to win many ball games, even though we were up.
Speaker 3 Then late in the game, there was a time, I think, around maybe five-minute mark around midfield, where we probably should have went for it on fourth down because of how the game was going.
Speaker 3 But yeah, when you have the personnel, you got all pro Mooney, you traded two first rounders for Saul salt scartner and you have uh kenny moore who's one of the highest paid best nickels in the game you know you got to be able to go men and then up front you got to get home and i i would like to drop a robber in there maybe get some more eyes on the quarterback to make some plays on the football but this was a tough out but i'm not i'm not calling shane steak stinking they did a uh special last night on football in america um
Speaker 2
where it was like all for the first three quarters Colts did a lot of rushing three dropping eight. And then the fourth quarter, they decided to go all men.
And that's when they got beat.
Speaker 2 But I didn't know maybe this person who tweeted this isn't a Colts fan because everyone in the nation, all the teams' fan bases, realized they had a chance up 11 to kill the Chiefs forever, and they didn't.
Speaker 1 All right, don't hold that against us. Yeah, there's a lot of people.
Speaker 1
People are. No, don't.
We're a fun team.
Speaker 4 There's not a lot of people holding out against you.
Speaker 1 No, we're fun. You had a chance to kill them.
Speaker 2 No, but remember, they are who we thought they are, and you let them off the hook.
Speaker 4 Yeah, exactly. Didn't see any of that.
Speaker 4 That's the big thing, though.
Speaker 1 It's like
Speaker 4 every in the last however many weeks, like if they had any type of lead, you just saw the game away because Jonathan Taylor was rushing for 150 to 200 yards.
Speaker 4
Yesterday was the first day where he didn't have like an otherworldly game. I think he had 16 rushes for 58 yards.
Like he hasn't done that all year.
Speaker 4 So it was kind of just like one of those, you know, it was just, it was just the Chiefs day.
Speaker 4 And there should be a limit on how many times one guy can line up on Gon Cavs or whatever the fuck his name is because Chris Jones just kept lining up on him. It was just kind of over.
Speaker 1
Tony Romo kept saying, Chris Jones under pressure. This is all happening happening because of Chris Jones.
Chris Jones, Chris Jones, Chris Jones.
Speaker 1
And then they show the replay, and it's like, yeah, Chris Jones was certainly dancing with Danny Dumes there for a while yesterday. And Danny Dumbs made some big time throws.
I like that to be said.
Speaker 1 We learned from this and we move forward.
Speaker 2 They were outside on the grass, too.
Speaker 5 Who do you play next?
Speaker 1
Big game. What's that? Big one.
Who's Nett Houston? Huge game. At home, finally.
Oh. Back at the fucking crib.
Speaker 5 That defense is on fire.
Speaker 1 As Arch Manning would say, yeah, you're right.
Speaker 1 That's exactly what we want.
Speaker 1 Great opportunity.
Speaker 5 Great opportunity for the Colts. That's right.
Speaker 4 Is it Doug Mills?
Speaker 1 I hope not.
Speaker 3 No, it'd be CJ.
Speaker 1 Sure, Doug Mills has got a hot hand right now.
Speaker 2 According to Shifty.
Speaker 1 Are you reading their reaction tweets or is this really?
Speaker 4 That's me, brother. That's me thinking.
Speaker 1
Doug Mills, imagine what he would be doing if he was in Minnesota right now. Oh, my God.
Dougie Mills in a Kevin O'Connell offense. Oh, my God.
Oh, geez, especially with how Paul and Biggie is.
Speaker 1 He's built for Minnesota here.
Speaker 1 What's going on out there?
Speaker 1 Like Glennon. Exactly.
Speaker 1 Glennon should have been with KOC. I don't know if they ever crossed paths because Glennon said hot and then
Speaker 1 boom. Yeah.
Speaker 1
You know what I'm talking about? Yeah. You gotta have the reach.
Yeah, bring him Osweiler. Could you imagine?
Speaker 1
Oh, my God. Because as long as you can get the snap and then just see everything, you've got to know everything going on.
This is the Caleb story.
Speaker 1 Caleb reading the defense is pre-snap, knowing where he's supposed to go with the ball is a huge, that's a huge jump in football knowledge. That's a big deal.
Speaker 1 If I'm a Bears fan, that's what I'm maybe most excited about. It's like before the snap goes, you know that he knows what's happening because he's turning his back and firing.
Speaker 1
That's a pick if he doesn't know what's going on. He has to have full conviction about what he's supposed to do.
So that's, that's really good news, I think.
Speaker 1 If I'm a Bears fan, it's like, hey, he knows what the hell's going on right now. And that's only going to become more and more and more as they go.
Speaker 1
And on the flip side, Minnesota doesn't feel like that. Let's get to a Minnesota Overreaction Shall.
It's from Ethan Iberg. Hashtag, I don't want to overreact.
Speaker 1 But the Vikings are the most doomed franchise in FL history. Fourth best win percentage with no Lombardi to show for it.
Speaker 1
Allergic to finding a franchise quarterback, yet always good enough to not have a good draft pick. I'm ready to join D-Butt and find a new team.
What do you think? Finally.
Speaker 3 I'm seeing more and more of this every week. More and more.
Speaker 1 Come on. Especially as the season unwraps.
Speaker 3 Don't let one franchise ruin your fucking happiness for what, five, six months? Don't do it.
Speaker 1
Yeah, you can't do it, especially if your team is one of those teams that potentially ruins people's happiness week in, week out. The Vikings should not be that.
Last year,
Speaker 1 Super Bowl, that's the big issue is like they had a team that we all thought could go on a run. And what all the experts were saying was, if we get
Speaker 1
any semblance of quarterback play at quarterback for this Vikings team with how they're built, this team will be good. And also, don't look now.
Maybe they get better. with J.J.
McCarthy, actually.
Speaker 1
It's like, all right. That's stupid.
Okay. We heard that a lot.
Speaker 1 A lot.
Speaker 1
A lot of people saying that. And then we hear Kevin O'Connell at the owners' meetings say the number one thing he looks for in a quarterback is accuracy.
Isn't that what he said? Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4 He's a good pass, though. It's pretty.
Speaker 1 So like,
Speaker 4
he got hit. That wasn't the one I was talking about.
I was talking about the later interception.
Speaker 1 Yeah, but it's like arm talent seemingly is what they were looking for. Jim Harbaugh said, now granted,
Speaker 1 now granted, Jim Harbaugh
Speaker 1 was his college coach.
Speaker 1
Like he said, it was the greatest pro day he's ever seen. And you have people that...
Who's it? Jim Hardball said it was the best pro day of all time. That's Jim.
This is cool. It's cool.
Speaker 4
There's a lot of hardballs, it feels like, in the media with J.J. McCarthy.
But when he said that, though.
Speaker 1 Exactly. A lot of people saying that.
Speaker 4
The biggest poll or takeaway, at least, was Pennex. It was like, oh, okay, accuracy.
Pennex is incredibly accurate. But then Pennex went to Atlanta at eight and nobody had that build at all.
Speaker 4
So maybe, I mean, I don't know. And then Sean Payton also, you know, people are kind of circling back to Sean Payton saying like, I fucking told the Vikings we were trading up for J.J.
McCarthy.
Speaker 4 and guess what they did? They traded up to fucking steal him from us, and we wanted bone X the whole time. So, like, it does feel as though.
Speaker 1 Sean said it in like 2024. Yes.
Speaker 4
Yeah, yeah. Right after during that press conference.
So I mean, who knows what happens, but it sure seems like they fucked it up.
Speaker 1 20%.
Speaker 1
Plain and simple. And their fans are getting new teams.
More teams.
Speaker 3 That's the fourth winning percentage, fourth highest.
Speaker 1 Nick Mullins threw 400 yards in this offense.
Speaker 2 Twice.
Speaker 1
400 yards. That's the biggest.
Come on now. Nick can spin it.
Yeah, he can. Yeah.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 4 Yeah, he can.
Speaker 3 That's the biggest knock on JJ, though.
Speaker 3 Because of this KOC offense. Cash.
Speaker 1 He's the greatest wide receiver in the history of football.
Speaker 1
And him just being like, yeah, I got to be part of the solution here. You know, it doesn't matter what quarterback is.
I got to do my thing. And then he starts seeing these balls go.
Speaker 1 Coach O'Connell,
Speaker 1 these are the the worst throwing footballs I've ever. I couldn't even tell you the last time I had throws like this, you know, because he's obviously experienced bad throws throughout some point.
Speaker 1 Sure, yeah, somewhere in high school, maybe. Played with Carson for a little bit, too.
Speaker 3 Yeah, now I'm just thinking after Todd pointed out that throw, that
Speaker 3 little video that we saw of the receivers getting ready for the gaming suite. That if they were on those things, if they had those gimmicks.
Speaker 4 I missed this.
Speaker 5 Oh, you did. Yeah, what video?
Speaker 4 He's talking about the guy on the stilts.
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah. Walking.
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 Out of the right.
Speaker 1 Out of the right brand.
Speaker 1 Yeah, so maybe he does have a little bit of,
Speaker 1 what would that be called?
Speaker 1
Where it objects in the mirror closer. Yeah, maybe his depth perception is not great.
Maybe wide receivers look bigger. You know, like maybe it's so blurry.
They're like stacked on top of each other.
Speaker 1 So he thinks he's hitting him right in the helmet. Turns out he's 12 feet.
Speaker 4 Jameis situation.
Speaker 1 Yeah, he needs Lasic. Boom.
Speaker 1 Nine needs better eyes. that could be the problem i'm back in all right you need to get lasic it helps jameis catching touchdowns now yeah
Speaker 3 i haven't seen that one i i've heard the depth near side at far so i haven't seen where a six-foot guy looks 16 feet no it's just blurry you know how people say they see two different things instead of seeing two different ones they're just stacked on top of each other so
Speaker 1 jameis ah look at it get off me he said he's available to do anything to make the team better including play tight
Speaker 1 hey.
Speaker 1
Bull the dash, Jameis. He's the best.
Love everything about him.
Speaker 1 Very thankful that football exists so that we can live in a world where Jameis Winson can catch a touchdown and stiff arm somebody, break a tackle and shake somebody at the same time.
Speaker 1 Shout out Jameis doing his thing. Always,
Speaker 1 when they put this play in, he probably told somebody, I'm going to catch that thing.
Speaker 1
I'm going to shake a guy. I'm going to make a stiff arm spin move, break a tackle, touchdown.
Just why I can do it. I assume that was, he's always expecting the most epic outcome, Jameis.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Which is why I think we love him.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah.
Troy told Gunner, just, I don't care who's, I don't care if I'm dumped, just throw that bitch up.
Speaker 4
I'm going to go get it. Yeah, I'm a high school bitch.
I mean, not to mention, too, we inside, but we outside. We outside, but we inside before the game starts.
Speaker 1
Of course. And that's another pregame speech that just go ahead and save it, lock it in for the rest of time for football.
I love Jameis.
Speaker 3 That's a tough down for that defender.
Speaker 1 Yeah,
Speaker 4 I have his name, but I feel like I shouldn't say it.
Speaker 1
He's hard enough. Good player.
He's hard enough. He is a good player.
Detroit won this game. And Jameis Winston talked about how happy he was that Gunner gave him a shot.
Speaker 1
You know, he said, every once in a while, you just need your quarterback to give you a chance. You heard him start talking about that.
And Gunner pulling the trigger for him.
Speaker 1 And for all of us, really.
Speaker 1
Thank you for throwing that, Gunner. Thank you for throwing that.
We need James. Let's go to the next overreaction, shall we? This is from Hawk Lurker at Lurker Sports.
Interesting.
Speaker 1
Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but don't look now, but the Cowboys are all the way back. The Gamblers fucking back, baby.
And this team has a belief in a cause.
Speaker 1
Eight straight wins to end the season is on the table, Undertaker gif of them coming back from the dead. But it's not just the dead.
It might be three miles under Earth.
Speaker 1 Is there $100 billion of natural gas also flowing through that building right now? Is that team's cooking? I think Jerry Jones is excited.
Speaker 1
He's doing his press conferences after games where it's like it's 1921 and everybody has their recorders around his face. just as close as possible.
A COVID nightmare.
Speaker 1 I can't believe we ever got these. Remember, there was a time we never thought we'd have moments like this.
Speaker 1 That was only with the advancement of technology and kind of how things go nowadays. Jerry's the only one that walks right into a media pool and says, Come on in, come on in.
Speaker 1
As close as you can, he's got 10 microphones within six inches of his mouth. Okay, just everywhere from all different angles.
And everybody wants to hear what he has to say.
Speaker 1
Jerry has created something special, and I think he thinks what he did with his team is magical. I think he's pumped up about where they're at.
And once again, their team is what, 5'5, and 1? Yeah.
Speaker 1
They're a 500 team with a tie. 500 team with a tie.
And all anybody's talking about is Jerry Jones got these Dallas Cowboys maybe ready to run for a playoff.
Speaker 1
He's a fucking genius whenever it comes to business. And picking up George Pickens, obviously a massive move, loading up on the defense.
Quentin Williams coming like a leader of that entire team.
Speaker 1 It's like Jerry Jones should be taking a victory lap. Are they really back, though? I mean, they're still in it.
Speaker 3 You never want to be, you know, 5-5 and 1 at this point in the season, but it's all in front of them. You got the highest paid quarterback in the league who's still spinning it.
Speaker 3
You got two number one wide receivers. You got a good run game, good O-line, good pieces on defense.
Once again, I still think Fluce is a good defensive coach. You know, you've got to figure it out.
Speaker 3 And if they start getting these turnovers and making plays, man, it's not going to be a team you want to face down the stretch, I'll tell you that much.
Speaker 4 Yeah, and Thanksgiving, we kind of had a little bit of a 30-second conversation, Ty and I, about how Chiefs offensive guard Trey Smith, all-pro stud, he's out for them.
Speaker 4 For the Eagles, the strength of their O-line, of course, they got, you know, big Oosh on the outside or not Oos, but whatever. You get it.
Speaker 4 Jordan Milata on the left and Lane Johnson was out, but their middle three is stout. And Osa, Quinn Williams, and Kenny Clark kind of had their way with them.
Speaker 4 And now you're talking about one of the best offensive linemen for the Chiefs being out in the middle. Like, kind of love the Cowboys against the Chiefs on Thanksgiving, but I don't know.
Speaker 1
Matchups, matchups are a thing. Huge.
And Jerry wanted the interior of that defensive line to be stout. Got to be able to stop the run.
Speaker 1
He got to be able to press the buck from inside, make these quarterbacks start dance with their feet. That's what we're doing for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jerry Jones knows ball.
Speaker 1 I'm trying to win games. Now, they They got Maca and we got what we got and we tied.
Speaker 1 Next question is how he talked about Maca after the tie ball game with the Green Bay Packers. But it's like, why not get excited about this Cowboys team?
Speaker 1
And they got a lot of potential bunker mentality over there. Yeah.
A lot of bunker mentality.
Speaker 4
And they're really fun to watch too on top of it. I mean, like, that game yesterday where both teams seemed like they each fumbled about 30 times in the last 10 minutes.
Nobody really wanted to win.
Speaker 4 But, God, and then you look at Brandon Aubrey. It's like, if they're ever in a close game, like, you you have to feel pretty good if you're a Cowboys fan, like, hey, we have a massive advantage here.
Speaker 4 We got to, you know, wherever we're at on the field, Brandon Aubrey might be good from 75. So like, if you're a Cowboys fan, I think you're in a pretty good spot today.
Speaker 1
Long snapper recovered of punt fumble as well. Obviously, Anger hit a bomb that set that entire thing up.
Aubrey making a game winner. Had a miss earlier.
Yeah. Had a miss earlier, which was alarming.
Speaker 1 I almost, whoa, I thought there was a glitch in the TV. That's what it's like for them down there.
Speaker 1
And Shoddy, obviously, enjoying the high high life with a backwards visor after a game, which we love. Elijah Clark, absolute monster, AJ.
I know you've seen the clip by now, obviously.
Speaker 1 Everything that's good with football happens in this play for Elijah Clark, AJ.
Speaker 5 Yeah, I know. I know it's been talked about a bunch and shown, but it's, yeah, it's one of those plays.
Speaker 5
Great play by the Gunner as well. Unbelievable.
Like the gunner here playing, or what's 21's name again?
Speaker 1 Corner, yeah, Sidney Brown.
Speaker 1 Corner, yeah, sorry.
Speaker 5
Sidney Brown. That dude's explosive and very sudden as well.
But yeah, you talk about like, yeah, that right there is the encapsulation. That's what effort is.
Speaker 5 Like, that's, you're never out of the fight.
Speaker 5 It's going back to the old picture, the old, the old duck, the frog eating the duck and his neck, his hands around his neck, like I said a couple weeks ago.
Speaker 5
Like, that's an example of that right there in that play. I'll get knocked down five times.
I don't care. I'll get up and still cause the fumble.
Speaker 1 Yeah, the duck is eating the frog, the frog before going down the duck's throat.
Speaker 3
Him not falling in the fat. Yeah, great bat.
That second time is crazy.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1
Especially the hip top. I mean, Sidney Brown, to your point, perfect rep on him.
Bam. This time, boom.
Bam.
Speaker 2
14 plays this really well, too. He walls off his guy 80 right there.
Like, he walls him off the entire time. And he's the other one who gets in on this play, too.
Like, that was just perfect.
Speaker 1 So you got to clip him.
Speaker 5 You got to hit him in the back if you're going to hit him. So he can't really do anything.
Speaker 1
Yeah, it's beautiful. Yeah.
The leverage, too, front shoulder of Returner because Returner's taking it to field there. So not getting out leverage, beautiful.
Him getting back into his lane.
Speaker 1
Now, anytime you're behind somebody, not good. Okay.
That's not good. But obviously, he was knocked off track by Sidney Brown.
So him getting back out there, making a play. It's all beautiful.
Speaker 1 It's absolutely beautiful.
Speaker 1
That is awesome to watch. I got so excited.
I almost went outside to see if I could play.
Speaker 1
And I thought to myself, how many Elijahs are out there? There it is. There it is.
There we go. Never give up.
Speaker 1 Is it different? Yeah, that's a new one. Yeah, it's a different one.
Speaker 2 It's got pink, I think.
Speaker 1 All right, so who wins?
Speaker 1 Frog definitely won on this one.
Speaker 5 Frog. Yeah, frog got this one.
Speaker 2 That bird does not look like it's a good thing.
Speaker 4 I think it's going to die anyway. Yeah, but is that lockjaw? Like, if this thing dies right now, it can even open the mouth.
Speaker 1 You're talking about whenever uh a human body uh is uh rigor mortis
Speaker 1 yep that's what you're talking about uh yes well i wonder
Speaker 1 hmm because it appears if frog still has life at this moment oh yeah right because it's still gripping he's got a tight grip yeah but is that rigor mortis as well could be
Speaker 1 are they both dead
Speaker 1 a draw of draws Maybe. But
Speaker 5
he let him go. The duck has to make a decision.
Hey, do I open my mouth and let this guy out or do I just get choked to death? So eventually he's probably going to let go.
Speaker 5 And then they both live, but the frog goes and he kills him from behind after he says fair game.
Speaker 1 Okay, where's that at? Is that on the next page?
Speaker 5 That's the next slide, but we don't have that one with us.
Speaker 1 Okay, unfortunately, we don't.
Speaker 2
The frog always survives. That's the point of the poster.
Never give up.
Speaker 1 Yep. Oh, I thought it was just like, hey.
Speaker 5 That frog's still alive.
Speaker 3 Is this the same frog from the other picture?
Speaker 1 Same.
Speaker 3 It just ended up in another.
Speaker 1 How do we know it's not about the duck, though, being like, never give up?
Speaker 4 Keep
Speaker 1
eating. Chew your fucking food.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Keep chewing. Yeah, Yeah, there's a chance.
Speaker 1
There's a chance. Get it done, even if there isn't room.
Get it done.
Speaker 2 That waterfowl has no chance. Is that what that is?
Speaker 1 It's not a duck.
Speaker 4 I thought it was a stork, honestly, first time I saw it.
Speaker 1
Me too. But it could be maybe a skowl.
I'll tell you what, I feel like Northeasterners better with the water birds.
Speaker 4 Yeah, probably because
Speaker 4 a bunch of different kinds, especially with the weather change.
Speaker 1 Okay, so we have cranes here in India on water. We have American bald eagles.
Speaker 1 We salute them.
Speaker 1 We got ducks. Yes, mallards.
Speaker 4 Canadian geese.
Speaker 1
Those are the worst. Loons.
Yeah, they dump them. We need to send them back to Canada.
Not a doubt. The Canadian geese.
Speaker 2 We are right in a great migration pattern to see all sorts of water birds.
Speaker 1
Yeah, so there is a lot, but none of those ones. The ones that are out on the ocean.
There's those ocean birds. The goals.
There it is. Yeah, there's a lot of ocean birds.
Pelicans.
Speaker 1 Yeah, those types of things. Because,
Speaker 1 yeah.
Speaker 1 Birds, dinosaurs.
Speaker 4 some
Speaker 1 because we all know like alligator crocodile yeah direct descendants for sure dinosaurs yeah a lot of people say that dinosaurs had feathers so the american eagle the bald eagle
Speaker 1 when that thing opens up like this first of all you hear it when it's taking
Speaker 1 off the but it's got a little body in there
Speaker 1 it's got a little body under it where it looks like you can actually body punch it a couple times that's how big that thing is as it's moving good luck it's like that's a big fucking bird right huge That is a huge bird.
Speaker 1 And it does whatever it wants. Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2 Owns the sky.
Speaker 1 Picks up a duck.
Speaker 1 Hits it on the ice. Yep.
Speaker 2
Night night. Now, if that was a bald eagle in that picture.
Sorry, frog.
Speaker 1 Frog's gone.
Speaker 3 He ain't giving up.
Speaker 1
He's going to try that. It will when his head's gone.
That thing's over, yeah.
Speaker 1 As soon as it picks it up, I think the eagle would actually do this with his claws. Yeah, that's fun.
Speaker 4 Talons are so sharp, he's probably piercing them right through the frog anyway. They're going out his back and coming out his stomach, and he's dead instantly.
Speaker 1 Yeah, you're right, especially with the soft skin.
Speaker 4
Yep, smaller beak as well. So the first bite is just face and brain.
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Out.
Yeah, that's what we're saying is that frog gave up before it even knew it was in a fight. Yeah.
And it wasn't it that gave up. It was the body that just kind of disappeared.
Fair.
Speaker 1
These eagles are smart, man. They are smart.
Separate from others. They'll use their things like little decks.
They got dexterity. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 I've seen them toss goats.
Speaker 2 Yeah. Pick up a rhinoceros.
Speaker 1 Humans. Oh, no.
Speaker 1
Seen it first. Seen it.
Wait, like a zoo?
Speaker 2 No, no, no. They don't let that happen at the zoo.
Speaker 1 Baby rhino?
Speaker 4 Out on the Serengeti. Yeah.
Speaker 1 There's eagles out there? We're going to go wherever.
Speaker 1 It's a far flight.
Speaker 2 Yeah, it is, but they rule all skies.
Speaker 1 And all
Speaker 2 grinds.
Speaker 1
That's right. Well said.
All right. Let's get to another overreaction.
It's from Adam Schwinn. Hashtag, I don't want to overreact.
But the Kinsey Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1
Everybody in their hearts were cheering against the Chiefs because they know if they get in, it's over. Fear is setting in.
Realization is becoming real.
Speaker 1 And like you said, the Chiefs, I didn't say that.
Speaker 1 He's still the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 That's kind of what I was thinking whenever they had four minutes and 30 seconds left. You never really think the Chiefs aren't the Chiefs in that moment.
Speaker 1 As soon as Patrick Mahomes jogs on that fucking field and does his thing, and they show Andy Reid with a fucking play sheet, Rigoberto and the boys do an incredible job and get a penalty.
Speaker 1
Have them start at their own fucking two-yard line here. Okay, up by three.
That's exactly where you want. Full field to work with to get into field goal range, even though Bucker has a big leg.
Speaker 1 And they just did the same shit they did basically all game, but all in one drive. And they just walked right down,
Speaker 1
took out the whole clock. They get this two-yard line.
Okay, they get to the two-yard line. I'm thinking to myself, they're going to score a touchdown.
All we needed was to hold for a field goal.
Speaker 1
They're going to score a touchdown against us and win this game. And then tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.
We ran out of timeouts.
Speaker 1
All of a sudden, it was under a minute, and they're like second down in goal on like the two. I'm like, we fucking lost this this game.
We didn't even get the ball back.
Speaker 1
And then somehow they hold him. Thank God.
He kicks a extra or a field goal. They tie it up.
We go to overtime. We take the ball first.
Three and out.
Speaker 1 The boys hadn't been on the field in like 45 minutes.
Speaker 1 It's been like an hour since the boys have been on the field with how, and what Patrick Mahomes did with two-minute warning, other fucking TV timeouts, and having the ball for 98 yards.
Speaker 1
I mean, the boys had weren't on the field forever. Three and out, fuck, Patrick Mahomes goes on the field.
Your immediate thought is Chiefs still the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 Chiefs are going to score a touchdown right here. And they did.
Speaker 1 And, you know, just like the sports books thought with the Baltimore Ravens, whenever they were down and out early, the sports book said, Ravens are going to come back. Ravens are going to come back.
Speaker 1 I think we all need to do the same thing with this Chiefs team. No matter how ass they've looked, the Chiefs are still the Chiefs until further notice.
Speaker 1
Now, there's somebody on this stage who said that it's not a question mark on if they still got it. It's actually an exclamation point that says they don't.
You thought the Chiefs were dead.
Speaker 1 Did they earn your trust or fandom back into their dynasty conversation?
Speaker 3
We had a chance to kill them in their house, and we did not. So they're not dead until they're actually dead.
But I'll stand on what I say. I don't think they're going to run this year.
Speaker 3 I don't think they win the Super Bowl. I think the dynasty is still alive and well with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, but not this season.
Speaker 1
Yep. So the Colts aren't real either, that is what you're saying.
No, we're real. Okay.
We'll bounce back.
Speaker 2 Hell yeah. Colts are still the favorite to win the AFC.
Speaker 1 Boom. Boom! Boom!
Speaker 1
I like that, AJ. I don't like that we didn't win that game.
I didn't like that.
Speaker 5
I mean, you you know, in the grand scheme of all of it, you know, sometimes you might need a tough road loss like that to catapult you, you know, into the playoffs. Yeah, you're right.
Hell yeah.
Speaker 1
A good loss whenever you look back. Learning.
Hey, Lil Perspective Porter. This is the top of the class here.
This is what happens when we go to their place. Now we lose in Pittsburgh, too.
Speaker 1 We lose in Kansas City. You know, they start asking some questions like, hey, we're going to need to win more games, boys, because we're going to need to have
Speaker 1
home field. Lothouse a little different than everywhere else.
We need to start getting after it here. And I got faith in him.
I got faith in him. Zaire made a hell of a play.
Speaker 1 Got balanced on Zaire's helmet.
Speaker 1
It was like a Spanish fly. Guy does a front flip.
Zaire does backflip, strips him in the middle of it. Ball out, quotes, ball.
It was like, love that that's happening.
Speaker 1
I thought it was like good news for us. Danny Dimes makes some good throws.
We have a couple, you know, little moments of greatness. And then Chiefs just, Chiefs us, it can't have it.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 Are we good enough to win the Super Bowl?
Speaker 2 Big one this week.
Speaker 1
A huge one this. Are we just a little bit excited because we're finally fucking a team worth worth watching? You know, that's kind of the battle that I've had.
House money.
Speaker 4 That's how I'm viewing it now.
Speaker 1
Just house money. We're playing with house money.
You're right, because it sucked.
Speaker 1 Exactly.
Speaker 4 We already hit our overs on team total wins this season.
Speaker 1 This is all house money. We didn't expect this.
Speaker 4 We shouldn't be here. We should.
Speaker 1 Somebody's going to be here. Exactly.
Speaker 4 But, I mean, think about what is starting to be built in both of our buildings. That's just kind of what I fall back on.
Speaker 1 Yeah, this is an early start for whatever is about to be. Now, granted, we don't have Danny Dimes on contract after this year, and Jonathan Taylor Taylor's going to need to be paid.
Speaker 1
They'll figure it out. They've got the big three to figure it out.
Yeah, you're right. Big three.
Big three. Colts is the Colts still.
No, no. Colts is going to be the Colts.
Again.
Speaker 3 CGBCA.
Speaker 4 Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 CGBCA. Colts going to be Colts again.
Speaker 1 Getting an X-O-reaction.
Speaker 1
I don't know what. They were favored.
In Kansas City. That's what the Colts were.
Speaker 4 Think about that. Yeah, that was kind of bad news going in.
Speaker 1
Weren't we favored? No, three and a half. Three and a half point dogs, but even that.
Oh, I should have known. Great cover.
I should have fucking known. That was a great cover.
That was a good cover.
Speaker 1 I should have known, man.
Speaker 1 I just didn't even look at it. Give me the Colts.
Speaker 1 I was wearing Travis's shirt.
Speaker 4 They didn't get blown out, though.
Speaker 4 Like, if they go into that game and get beat by three touchdowns, then it's like, oh, wow.
Speaker 1 Blown out by the Chiefs this year.
Speaker 4
That's what I'm saying. It's like, oh, boy, we really are a class below all these good teams.
But yeah, they fought tooth and nail.
Speaker 1 Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah.
They tried hard.
Speaker 1
Just got to close out. Age, I don't like that.
Try hard. They played hard.
Speaker 5 Would you take the ball? Do you want to toss?
Speaker 3 No.
Speaker 1
I wouldn't. So Tony Romo made a great point.
Tony Romo, immediately upon us taking the ball, said, I'd rather have four downs instead of three. So it'd be good to know what I need to do.
Speaker 1 But I don't know. Like,
Speaker 1 yes, on that note, yes, I think it's the right decision.
Speaker 1 But I had a thought there for a while where it was like, if you have a very good defense and you've invested in your defense, your defense knowing what it needs to do is a good piece of information.
Speaker 1 Like I think that could be a good piece of information. Now, granted, defense can't automatically score or, you know, kind of handle it and answer.
Speaker 1 And an added play knowing that you have to score a touchdown is a very big piece of information or knowing that you have to kick a field goal.
Speaker 1 If it's fourth and 10 on your own 30, it doesn't matter because you have to go kick the field goal as opposed to punting that and then the other team coming down and kicking it.
Speaker 2 Don't even think think about your team you don't want to give patrick mahomes four downs you don't want you don't want to score a field goal and then mahomes knows that he can have four downs yeah it just i always kick it
Speaker 1 always
Speaker 3 and and and the coats as a team this year i think they take the ball first more than any other team in the league like that's just shane's thing but o.t i want to go on defense first if i know we're getting a shot which the new rules we are yeah i want i want to know exactly you're you're a quarterback as soon as tony ramos said i'd rather have four downs downs instead of three, I was like, yeah,
Speaker 1 maybe two.
Speaker 1
That kind of puts it all to bed right there. Yeah, I think.
And to your point about Patrick Mahomes, I don't think it would have mattered. Yeah, you're right, yeah.
But on that note, data taken.
Speaker 1
Regarded. Maybe we'll change for the future.
Let's get to the next one. It's from Chris Bordine.
Speaker 1 Hashtag, I don't want to overreact. But
Speaker 1
that W felt like an L. O.T.
on a short week to beat the Giants. Now they'll lose to the pack on Thanksgiving, as is tradition.
Lose to the Rams in a couple weeks.
Speaker 1
Brad needs to stop smelling his own shit and actually improve this team in the offseason. Hashtag one Pride.
Wow. This is how Detroit feels after Jameer Gibbs goes for 475 yards?
Speaker 13
Yeah, I'll tell you what. This is how a lot of people in Detroit feel.
I'm a little bit torn because on one hand, you watch that game. We looked like absolute shite.
The Giants should have won.
Speaker 13 They actually had a fourth down in our red zone to win that game. We should have lost.
Speaker 13 Instead, on the flip side, why I'm torn, because we go down, we kick a field field goal go to overtime we win the game it wins a win we'll take that but at the end of the day we just don't look like how we looked last year last year we were so dominant it was like that team could win the super bowl
Speaker 13 right now a lot of teams don't feel that way or a lot of fans don't feel that way in Detroit so we're a little torn but Gotta beat the Packers. If they beat the Packers, no one will care anymore.
Speaker 1
Especially on Thanksgiving. That's lions.
That's Lions Day.
Speaker 1 That's Lions Day. It is.
Speaker 5 Was Shraig's calling them a dome team? Was Shraig saying they're strictly a dome team that can't win outside?
Speaker 13 We basically was saying that today, and luckily, we're in a dome until the last game of the year against the Bears. So we're in a good spot.
Speaker 1
Oh, that game won't matter probably either. We'll win that one, though.
Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, of course you will.
Congrats, Foxy.
Speaker 2 You've reached the fan base status where you guys aren't happy with just winning. It needs to look good, too.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Congrats.
Very different than what
Speaker 1 three years ago looked like for you guys.
Speaker 13
Definitely. It's kind of weird because, like I said, win's a win.
And I'm pumped up. But also,
Speaker 13 they were so good last year, and something's missing this year.
Speaker 1 The Lions fan from last week, did you guys get along? Did you guys talk? Because remember you said you hated Foxy. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 13
Yeah, I was really mad. And then about three days later, he actually tweeted at me and basically said, wow, I really upset Foxy here.
And I just said, charge it the game overreaction Monday.
Speaker 13 No big deal.
Speaker 1
Okay, so bygones be bygones. Yeah, exactly.
And now we're all on the same page. Just don't look like a championship team.
This is one pride, one team, one sound, one band. Let's go to the next one.
Speaker 1
Dan, Mr. Roman, 1927.
This guy's old. This guy's old.
Speaker 1 Hashtag, I want to overreact, but Micah Parson looks like Lawrence Taylor the way he's manhandling opposing offensive linemen and wrecking quarterbacks' lives.
Speaker 1 If the DBs start catching those wobblers that hit him in both hands, then there's nothing stopping Toyota-theon Jordan Love from running the table. Obviously, Ty, you're an owner of the Packers.
Speaker 1
You picked this particular overreaction. Just kind of hit on everything you were thinking.
Toyota-thon, some DBs dropping balls, Micah dominating. And is that kind of why you picked this one?
Speaker 2 Yeah, a little bit.
Speaker 4 Because the turnovers, I mean, you know, they got a couple yesterday, but that's been the big thing is they have been dropping a lot of interceptions.
Speaker 4 And I saw a lot of people were bitching about the Packers' offense yesterday, but I'm pretty sure Matt LaFleur was just thinking like, listen, you know, J.J.
Speaker 4
McCarthy is not going to engineer several touchdown drives here. We've seen what's happening.
Like their pass rush was kind of dominating. But the big thing is like Micah Parsons is as advertised.
Speaker 4
And I think their defense is unbelievable. Obviously, J.J.
McCarthy hasn't been playing great, but when you have a guy like that who can single-handedly take over games, it just,
Speaker 4 yeah,
Speaker 4
I'm feeling very good. I'd like the offense to be a little bit more aggressive.
But again, yesterday without Josh Jacobs, without Matthew Golden, like they really didn't need to do anything.
Speaker 4 They just needed to run the ball and let the defense kind of dominate the game, which is what they did.
Speaker 1
And Green Bay and Micah really getting along. I thought about this.
Micah, state college, small town.
Speaker 1
Goes to Dallas, a lot of shit. Obviously gets into it.
Big time. Goes back to small town.
I wonder if he doesn't, you know, need all the big city stuff that Green Bay potentially lacks versus Dallas.
Speaker 1 And I saw him and the fans having a good time. Obviously, his paycheck's a big deal, but the way he's playing and the way he's acting, it feels like you guys are in a great spot up there in Green Bay.
Speaker 4 Yeah, and I don't know because I assume that most Dallas fans, I mean, I guess towards the end, you know, he was probably getting a lot of shit for doing the podcast and like some of the stuff he was doing.
Speaker 1
Which we gave shit to for. Yeah, exactly.
As well, because there was like a lot of negative energy seemingly coming out of the podcast. Not that guys shouldn't do podcasts.
Speaker 1 Shit, I had a podcast whenever I was live and and I support players doing their thing, but it felt like Micah was so good at football and the only negative was just coming out from this podcast.
Speaker 1 It's like, you have a chance to make so much money from football right now that you're not going to be able to make in the future.
Speaker 1 Obviously, you're great on a microphone and there's a lot of soundbites. We were even saying, like, is it worth this right now? And I think he's backed away from that, right?
Speaker 4 Yeah, he's not doing it this year. And he said, basically,
Speaker 4 I want it to be all about football when I get here. And, you know, again, it was his decision to do the podcast and everything.
Speaker 1
But learned his lesson. He learned.
And he learned. And I do that.
Speaker 4 And I I think for Packers fans, it's just been like this guy is just such a godsend.
Speaker 4
Like, they haven't had a guy this dominant on defense maybe since like Charles Woodson, you know, won defensive play. Like, it's been a long time.
And he's, and he's just so consistent.
Speaker 4
Like, week in, week out, he kind of does what you expect him to do. And, you know, he's getting double-teamed all the time.
Like, Christian Darasaw is one of the highest paid tackles in the NFL.
Speaker 4 And Micah just kind of had his way with him yesterday. So, yeah, I mean, I just, you know,
Speaker 4
they're still kind of of waiting for everything to come together. I don't think they've played their best game.
But again, this defense is going to keep them in every game.
Speaker 4 Like, I don't see them getting blown out by anybody.
Speaker 4 So as long as the offense can kind of, you know, come along a little bit and start to get healthy and get some people back, like, I know, and this, again, as a Packers fan, like, this hasn't been the case in maybe 15 years.
Speaker 4 Like, I know the defense is going to have a stout effort week in and week out.
Speaker 1 AJ, they seemingly like each other, too. A lot of celebrating there for the boys on the defensive side.
Speaker 5 Yeah, I mean, look at the push the interior D-lines.
Speaker 5 Devontae White is the interior D lineman gets two sacks in this game like they're getting great push and when you can get great push inside and you have Micah Parsons on the outside like come on man like you're gonna you're gonna win a lot of football games with your defense if you can do that and that's what Carmine said exactly I need somebody to get to that quarterback you're gonna pay him up absolutely yeah how's 48 M's a year sound
Speaker 1
Just get to the quarterback, brother. And he has.
Find yourself a little house here, maybe have a view of Lambeau.
Speaker 4 Yeah, he might buy Rogers' old house.
Speaker 1
He said he's been looking at it. He should.
Really? Yeah.
Speaker 4 Him and Tucker Kraft both said, like, yeah, you know, we've checked it out, considering it.
Speaker 1 Are they going to move in together?
Speaker 4 I don't think so. And I think if it becomes a bidding war, I think Micah has a little bit more money than Tucker Kraft is.
Speaker 1 He's about to get broken off here soon, but Mike Parsons is making a lot of money. Yes, he is.
Speaker 4 If he wants Rogers' house, he can go ahead and get it.
Speaker 1 And what if he just loves Green Bay? What if this is the place he's supposed to be in? What if this becomes just a mainstay for the next 10 years up there in Green Bay?
Speaker 4 I mean, I think that's the plan when you give up as much as they gave up to get him and you pay him the way they've paid him. Like, I hope he's expecting to be there for the long haul.
Speaker 4 And boy, he's still so young. That's what's, you know.
Speaker 1 How's Jordan Love?
Speaker 4
Again, yeah, his shoulders kind of banged up. He was kind of, he was handing off with like his offhand yesterday several times.
So I hope he's good to go Thursday. I assume he will be.
Speaker 4 But again, like he didn't, they didn't need to.
Speaker 4 Emmanuel Wilson came in and they had their, you know, he had more rushes than Josh Jacobs had gotten all year, and he rushed for over 100 100 yards in his first start.
Speaker 4 He picked up a couple first downs when they needed him to, but it really was just a, hey, let's control the clock because if we get a 10 to 14 point lead the way Minnesota's playing, it's going to be very, very difficult for them to come back.
Speaker 4 But
Speaker 4 he's going to have to air it out, and he's going to have to play a good game on Thursday.
Speaker 1
Backhanded handoffs. He did that several times.
Several times.
Speaker 4
And that's what they're saying. They don't know if that was maybe a product.
of his shoulder being kind of banged up. Maybe he's changing the game.
Speaker 1 He could be.
Speaker 4 He could be. It's Toyota Thon.
Speaker 4 He tends to do crazy shit during that. So maybe he is just saying, you know what, this is actually a little bit better off.
Speaker 1
All right, let's go to the next overreactions from A.D. Sugar.
Hashtag, I don't want to overreact, but the Rams are going to win a Super Bowl. R9 is going to win the MVP.
Speaker 1 Defense making more plays than the Eagles offense in the second half.
Speaker 1
We are the number one team in the NFL. Aaron Donald coming out of retirement to get him another ring.
Hashtag Rams House. We talked about this earlier, AJ.
Aaron Donald's in shape right now.
Speaker 1 Yeah, very good shape.
Speaker 5 He should come make a good playoff run.
Speaker 1
Oh, my gosh. He was in the building last night.
Obviously, he sees the way the boys are cooking. He's Aaron Donald.
10 years in the NFL, eight of them first team all-pro.
Speaker 1 Obviously, three MVPs, Super Bowl championship. He had a run that is obviously historic and worthy of the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1
If he was to come back just for week 17, 18 and a playoff run with that D-line, it would be epic. This happened with Gronk.
This happened with Tom.
Speaker 1
This will happen with all the greats that look like they can still play. It's good position for Aaron Donald.
I wonder if he watched last night live in person and said,
Speaker 1 kind of fun. They're kind of eating up all the double teams right now.
Speaker 1 Maybe I come back and steal another, who knows, 10 sacks during a playoff.
Speaker 1 Maybe I just go crazy through six, seven games here and pick up maybe 15, 16 more sacks and just see how the year can go. And maybe another Super Bowl ring.
Speaker 1
But also, this Rams defense, I don't think they need them right now. I think they are in a great position, D.
But their fans are pumped. Let's go to the last overreaction here.
Speaker 1
This is from hashtag Thomas Mann or Tommy Mann. Sorry.
Hashtag I don't want to overreact. But
Speaker 1 Jameis Winston is the most electrifying player in the league, and KOC better be doing everything in his power to have that man in a Vikings uniform by day one of free agency because I'm tired of watching his bum JJ ruin prime years of Jeddah's and Addison's career.
Speaker 1
All right, I think we hit it all. I think we hit it all.
What a day today. We can't thank you all enough for rocking with us.
We'll watch tonight's Monday Night Football game.
Speaker 1 We'll overreact to it tomorrow. We'll chit-chat about everything happening around the sports world, and we're incredibly lucky to do as such.
