Oh, Joe.

Stephon Diggs' decision not to speak to the Boston media rubbed local reporters the wrong way with comments he was being in pain in the post part at the posterior New England.

Diggs apologized for coming off rudely.

Obviously, I don't want to come across as that.

And I'm going to say this.

I want to be very clear.

I'm an adult.

I'll apologize.

I'm not up here on an ego trip.

I'm not up here to rub anybody the wrong way or say anything for clickbait.

If I rubbed anyone wrong, I really want to apologize

i like it i do too hey mate listen new new place new atmosphere new beginnings let's start it off on the right foot yeah all you got to do now is go out there with your play

the rest will take care of itself yep the rest will take care of itself well just do what you're supposed to just just just be who stephon diggs is make ladies on the field all that other stuff i don't look all that i don't i don't care i don't care not about it i don't care nothing about the man he went into fashion.

All he care about is fashion.

He's dating car.

I don't care about none of that.

All I care, how many catches, how many yards, how many touchdowns, and how many games you will help us win.

That's what I care about.

All that other stuff, that ain't got nothing to do with me.

Yeah.

Congratulations.

Hey.

Hey, bring her to the game.

Maybe they put the camera on her.

Yeah.

I don't know.

I don't care.

But

all I care about is winning.

Can Stephon Diggs help me win?

That's all I care about.

All that other stuff, I don't care nothing about that.

He can.

He can.

That's all I care about then, okay?

Oh, yeah.

That's all I care about, Dead.

Well,

so,

look,

you know he made a mistake.

I think the thing is, Ocho, like.

I want to get off on a good foot.

Anytime I go somewhere, I mean, look, I was always, everybody, you know, if you wanted something, you wanted to talk i was gonna talk yeah hell i'm gonna talk good bad or indifferent that's the thing and that it doesn't matter who the player is now when you when you play good you hit three home runs or you you score 50 points or you have a triple double or you have three sacks or you have this many

everybody want to talk

you give up you have a blunder or you don't play well Now all of a sudden you want to leave the locker room without speaking to the media.

Nah, don't do that.

That's coward.

That's cowardly.

Don't do that.

You got to, you got to speak to, you got to speak to him.

You got, you got to have the corners to speak to him when you win, and the corn is to speak to him when you lose.

Be as gracious in victory as you are in defeat.

Defeat.

Yeah.

I'm a firm believer.

I'm, hey, because I got a lot to say when we win.

Well, hey, as much as it's going to be hurting me inside, I'm going to stand and take every question.

I'm not going to be, man, you watched the game.

You saw what happened.

What'd you think happened?

You think you could do it?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

I ain't asking when we win the game and I go off.

I ain't asking,

did he watch the game?

I ain't say, well, could you have done what I did?

I don't ask none of them questions.

I'm not going to ask when we lose.

We got to play better.

Team didn't play well.

It starts with me.

I'm one of the leaders on the team.

I didn't do a good enough job of getting open.

I didn't give John a good enough target.

We've got to block better.

We've got to catch better.

We've got to defend better.

We've got to do a lot of things better as a team.

Yeah, but as the team, one of the team leaders, I'll take it on me.

That's what you're supposed to do, right?

You want the credit.

I mean, when they pat you on the back, they don't mention all them other guys in the paper.

When we win, they got Terrell Davis, they got John Elwood, they got Shannon Sharp, they got Rod Smith, they got Ed McCaffrey, they got Steve Atwater.

Okay, those are the guys that they want to talk to when you don't play well.

And GD, go up to the podium and stand up there with your chest out and speak.

I've always been like that, Ocho.

In college, it didn't matter.

Hey.

Yeah.

You think I wanted to play bad?

You think anybody wants to play bad?

Of course not.

But it's a part of it.

You're not going to play good every game.

I don't care.

The greatest player.

Tom Brady, as great as he was, Jerry Rice, as great as he was.

LT, as great as he was, as they were.

They didn't play great every game.

And when you don't play, stand up there as if you got three sacks, if you threw for 400, as if you caught 450 in three touchdowns.

That's just the way I approach it.

But I am glad Stefan Diggs stepped to the mic and said, hey guys, that's not my intent.

I didn't come here to try to rub anybody the wrong way.

And for my behavior, I want to apologize.

Despite signing a two-year $29 million extension with the Steelers last year, Cam Hayward wants to rework his deal.

Here's his explanation.

You know how I work, you know how I play.

That's all that matters.

You know, I have to make a decision for my family.

This is a business.

I cannot play this game forever.

And

just like I'm maximized on the field, I want to be maximized outside of it.

And I want to be taken care of that way.

It's not the ingredients.

It's just the way this game is.

It's not for long.

NFL.

So

I would tell every guy, maximize your opportunities.

Ocho, they just reworked this deal last year.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I don't know if I could honestly say, Ocho,

I don't know if I've ever seen a team rework a deal and then rework it the next year.

I can honestly say in my 14 years and my years of being around it.

Right.

It's unfortunate.

I love Cam Hayward.

I love what he's done for the Steelers throughout his tenure being there, but they're not working a deal

over again a year later.

It's not happening.

It's not happening.

I mean, it's just not happening.

As great as he is, especially with what he's done last year, where he feels he's worthy of having another raise the following year after they just gave you a raise,

it's not going to work.

And one thing you won't do, and we've already seen it, you're not going to bully management.

You're not going to bully owners into paying you.

And you're not, and obviously this,

if owners start, they're not going to set a precedent either.

they're not set a precedent where we're going to have players all they have to do is come out and complain about not being paid and all of a sudden they do they just going to start paying players because they say they're not happy with their deal that's that's not happening the owners are not going to set a precedent and i know damn well the rooney's ain't going to be the one to set it nah

nah

And uh and that's that's the problem that he's up against.

What has happened, OJo,

is that he sees these defensive linemen's salaries explode.

Yeah.

47 million, 41 million, 40 million, 35, 35, 34, 30, 28.

You're like, man, I'm making a piece of little 14 meal.

Yeah.

You know, you know who can't.

I mean, oh, and I'm not, look, and chat, look, I'm not saying that 14 million was a lot of money,

but I'm looking at it through his lens.

In his lens, he's looking at like.

14 million is not a lot of money when I'm probably there.

Where is he ranked?

He's like, what?

He's the 23rd highest paid defensive defensive lineman.

23rd.

Where would you put him?

Where would you put him when it comes to D-tackles?

Where would you put him?

Is he in the Chris Jones, Jeffrey Simmons type?

He's more of a run stuffer.

Now, he can get you sacks.

Right.

I think he's probably that tier, like, I would say CJ and Simmons,

Carter.

Here Here too.

Yeah.

Okay.

Okay.

But here's the thing, Ocho.

If you like, you know what?

I'm going to go out here and I'm going to play this.

I'm going to play.

Don't rework my deal.

Don't worry about it.

I'm going to bet on me.

I'm going to go out here and ball out.

You don't get, you don't get to take the, so he's trying to take the money, the assurances that he had on the front end when they reworked the deal, says, well, I'll perform this deal and now let's come back to the table.

Like I said, they could now.

Like I said, I don't, I know the Rooney.

You know, you grew up, Steve was my favorite team.

I knew the dad, and you know,

Dan,

who used to be the ambassador to Ireland, if I'm not mistaken, when I went into the hall, sent me a handwritten note, really appreciate it.

So, the Rooney family, thank you very much for that.

But,

and here's the thing, Ocho.

He signed an extension and

he he played 11 games the previous year so he signed the extension after he was injured yeah

they they gave you some grace understanding so so in other words oh cho it's like

he hedged it

so hey what i'm gonna do i'm gonna protect my downside so i'm gonna protect you know if y'all want to release me i'm gonna get this money now well i outperform so let's do it over yeah i don't believe i don't believe chat now y'all i could be wrong no um it's not happening uh can i ask you a question?

How old is Cam Hayward?

Cam came out in the 2011 draft, so he's got to be at least 35.

He might be 36.

Huh, them folks, them folks ain't playing that, man.

You know what?

He's got to be 36, 35, 36.

You know,

there are certain players that have that kind of pull.

And there's one player on the Steelers defense that can say, you know what?

I played well last year.

I would like a raise this year as there's one player that can do that he did it he got it tj there's one player that can do that

uh so in other words he looking on your he's like man look i bounced back i had i was an all-product eight sacks i batted a couple of passes tackle for losses bro but it like we gave it we gave it we gave you a raise after you had a down year

Now you want us to come back and give you another raise after having a good year?

I think, you know what?

What they might do is they might take some money on the back end and go ahead and push it on up front.

I don't know if he got, does he have any more on the back end?

Because I think he signed a two-year extension.

Does he have any?

Does he have any more protection?

I mean, what was last year?

Last year was.

My thing is, bro, why you signed a two-year extension for $29 million anyway?

That's only $14 and a half.

The numbers were already way up.

That put you way behind to begin with.

Yeah.

So I can see if you said, let's just say for the sake of argument, Ocho, he signed a two-year deal and he got $42 million.

He got $45 million.

Now I was like, okay, but you signed a two-year deal.

You took 14.

You basically took 14 mil.

They were obliged to give it to you.

They were happy.

Like, oh, okay.

Yeah.

We'll keep him happy.

I don't know.

I mean, I think Cam

is a really good player, but I just don't see a scenario where

they gave him an extension last year and turn around and give him another extension this year.

I just don't see it on show.

It could happen.

I hope it does.

I hope it does.

But I'm just being real.

I'm trying to be realistic to our viewing and listening audience.

I just don't see it happening.

Yeah.

And because I do think, I think he's a phenomenal player.

He's a leader of that team.

He's a captain of the defense.

I think even still at his age, he's still a phenomenal player at 36 years of age.

All those wars, because you know, when you play, they play a 3-4 defense, you know, he's in a lot of battles.

There's a lot of banging.

Pause.

There's There's a lot of pushing and pulling.

Like you like to say, push it, pull it, tug it.

Helmets colliding.

It's rough in there.

Yeah.

It's rough in there.

But I just,

I wonder who his agent is.

Because

his agent worked out that two for 28.

Nah,

we'll do two for 50.

Do two for 50, Ocho.

Now we good.

Yeah.

Damn.

Does he have another year on this contract after this year, Ash?

Yeah, he's on this year and next year.

Wow.

So how much is next year's salary?

Well, it's 14.5.

Oh, yeah,

he's sick.

He's throwing up.

It's bad.

No, I'm just saying, Ocho, you look at everybody else's salary.

He's 14.5.

Damn.

Michael Parsons just got 47 million.

That's three times what he made.

Three and a half.

Yeah.

That's crazy.

Yeah.

You look at TJ, the guy he played right next to.

41.

Yes.

Two and a half.

No, damn near three times.

Who am I math teacher?

So

he's looking at it like, hold on.

Bro, I'm putting it work now.

I wish him the best, but I just don't see that scenario, Ocho.

I really don't.

I don't

the Steelers tear up that contract after just giving him one, appeasing him last year after a season in which he was down.

That's where if you felt you was like that, just go ahead and ride it out.

Yeah.

Especially also not saying, not the ultimatum.

I'm not playing.

Plus, you're 36, bro.

Yeah, but you know, some people will say, well, he's not your average 36-year-old.

Steelers ain't the average team.

They don't just have money like that.

The Steelers are one of these old school teams,

one of these old school.

They're mom and pops.

This is what the Steelers do.

Yeah.

It's been in their family basically since 1933, with the exception of a year.

This is what they got.

They don't have

all this other ventures and venture capitalists and stuff like that.

That's not what they have.

I mean, you saw the other day that

the Giants sold a 10% stake to the Giants

to the Coke family.

The Coke.

So,

Coke.

It's pronounced Coke, but it's spelled K-O-C-H.

Okay, okay, okay, okay.

But I wish him the best.

I think he's a phenomenal player, but I just don't see a scenario where he's going to get the kind of money, especially Ocho, 36 years of age, after just reworking the deal last year.

I just don't see it.

Ocho, when Devontae was dealt to the Jets last year, he was asked, he asked Ben rookie receiver Malachi Corley for the number 17 jersey.

Did you see the Colts pretzel?

That was my other big takeaway from that game.

What was that?

Looks like something that should not be sold.

Oh my.

So that was my other big Colts takeaway.

They sold that?

Yes.

I might want to go back to the Colts Stadium.

Yeah, I might want to go back to the drawing board on that.

Yeah.

I thought the shape we had with pretzels was working pretty well.

It's worked for generations.

We're just here trying to enjoy it.

He offered the rookie $17,000 in exchange for the number 17, according to Devontae, according to Devonta.

So he responds, he said, hey, man, it's good to you have happy you're on the squad but i need a million or be you what

a million american dollars just for for a number

he he was serious or he was trolling he was serious man man

you know you almost made me curse on my bad i'm sorry but listen if i was him

being that I had the number 17 and I don't have a, I'm not a household name, but someone like Devontae Adams come to my team where it's 17 resonates with that individual, knowing that he's warranted, one of the better players in the NFL and has been for a very long time.

I'm selling that jersey.

Maybe not for 17.

You throw me 50 or 100,000.

I'm going to get to you.

Right.

100,000.

That's that's feasible.

Right.

And Devontae should have went

50 to 100.

You're right.

17,000.

Come on, Devontae.

Come on, man.

Hey, Lynn, you got to start low.

You got to negotiate.

You got to negotiate.

17, listen, Devontae starts 17.

If I'm, what's his name?

I said, dude, other dude name?

Malachi Corley.

Malachi Corley.

Listen, man, you know, 17, that's really disrespectful.

You're really disrespecting me.

You know, I'm not a bum.

I'm not a bum.

I make money too.

Make it worth my while.

Give me a price that's worth my while and $17,000 ain't it.

I would have said he had 50.

If you say no to to 50, okay, but let's talk 75.

Now I can get 100,000.

That's it.

I'm not going any higher than that.

50, I'd have took 50.

Yeah, yeah.

I mean, yeah, come on, man.

We talked this Devontae Adams, one of the greatest, one of the greatest receivers of all time.

Yeah.

So, what number?

What number did Devontae wear last year?

Did they take the number from him?

He's at the Browns now, right?

Right.

Yeah.

Yeah, I know Devontae's and the Rams.

She said he did eventually learn something to me, but he said that he had to go through the route he needed to go through to pay it out.

So, in other words, he went to the Jets and the Jets took the number from him.

So, he probably ended up getting nothing.

Probably.

Bro,

if you're not on the active roster,

you're in no position to bargain.

Listen, if anything, if you're going to bargain,

that's probably why he said a million because he's not making enough.

If anything, 50, 75,000, 100,000.

Oh, cho.

It's good money that's good oh money but the fact you're not your practice squad that's devante they traded to get him he automatically comes in and he trumps you so you got nothing yeah

yeah

17 would have been more say look here man hey give me 50 and we hey we good i i really wanted 100 but i know you you've worn 17 since you've been in the league give me 50.

17 resonates with that player player.

There's certain players that come from other teams, the number resonates with them, and it just carries over like a numerical number.

Like so, in other words, he goes to the Jets and he says, Look, I want number 17.

Yeah, bro, you're on the practice squad, and somebody, unless somebody's at practice, they don't even know you wear 17.

Yeah, because you ain't see your ass in the game.

And now look at you.

You ain't got no money

from Devontae, and you had to get and you had to get a 17 up.

Damn.

Bro, I signed as a free agent with Baltimore.

And I was with the offered

Jermaine Lewis offered him a Rolex for him and his wife.

He said no.

Okay, cool.

I'm like, man, I want an even number, though.

I ain't want no.

I go to Freaky Frank, Rainwipe.

West his soul.

Frank passed on.

i said freaky frank hey man i i need 82 he's like sharpie take it yeah i said nah nah freaky i can't

we called it freaky friends come on freaky i can't do that right he's like nah sharpie he said nah nah you know i'm hey

uh because you know he was in he was in denver tried to make the team in denver didn't make it he's like sharpie when i was in denver man you treated me great you helped me out a lot i really really appreciate that sharpie just take it i said nah freaky tell me what you do i said what's your hobby he said, Sharpie, I like to fish.

Fish.

I said, what if I got you a boat?

What if I got you a boat?

I said, Sharpie, you don't have to do that.

I cut him in check.

I said, go get your bass boat, bro.

How much a bass boat cost?

I think I wrote him a check for like 20 grand, 25,000.

Well, you got it, boy.

Nah, man, look.

I didn't come in there.

I'm not trying to big time nobody.

I was the biggest free agent that they brought in.

Nah, no, no.

That man had that number before Shannon brought his ass there.

Right.

Don't try to.

I don't.

I ain't trying to take an advantage of nobody.

I want the number.

I want 82.

Yeah.

Ozzy wore 82 when he was in Cleveland.

I say, you know what?

I want that number.

Well, matter of fact, hey, since you're cutting checks, I saw

a little escalate I like too.

A little escalate IQ.

You only $5,900.

Huh?

You owe me $5,900.

I got you.

But you told you, you cut freaky, you cut freaky check.

That was also in 2000.

Oh, so inflation.

So shoot, throw me, throw me 50,000 there.

Money jumped funny in 25, Ocho.

Hold on, hold on.

You know what?

I'm just saying, it jumped funny.

Hey, worry about it.

Listen, we're going to get back on track.

Yeah.

Yeah, yeah.

But

that's just me, Ocho.

Everybody don't look at it like that.

That's just me.

How I looked at it.

I like, okay, the man had the man.

That's his number.

He's had it.

Boom.

Right.

So, damn, Corley.

But I can see, oh, I would see if that number had some center.

It'd have been interesting to see what number was he with in college.

What number was he in high school?

If he had that number, Ocho, you know what I'm saying?

But even still, even if you had it,

come on now.

We talking about

a legendary iconic player.

We talk about about Devontae Adams, the best route runner in the NFL.

Yes, those in for those young people.

I need a private ocho.

He was 11 at Western Kentucky.

He was 11 at Western Kentucky.

Ocho.

When Jerry went to Seattle, he personally called Steve Largett.

Steve Largett number is retired.

Steve Largett was the first ballot Hall of Famer.

Yeah.

If Steve Largett can unretire number 80,

bro, you can.

Man.

Man.

I don't know.

Maybe he has his reasons.

I mean, Devontae said, I offered him $17,000.

I ain't going to lie, Devontae.

I wouldn't let it go for that either.

It's going to cost you $50,000.

Hey, can you hear me?

Yeah.

Hold on.

He's saying I need to connect the internet.

Did you say you're going to send me my money?

Because I didn't hear that.

No, I just.

And in the hotel, I mean,

the screen to connect the internet just popped up out the blue.

Okay, I guess I don't know why I did that.

Oh, Joe.

NFL agents have spoken.

Cincinnati Bengals and the Dallas Cowboys were voted as the league's most unstable franchises in a recent survey.

NFL rider Ben Standig

surveyed agents to find out which team they consider the league's most unstable franchise.

The Bengals topped the list, followed by the Cowboys,

which means they're worse than the Panthers and the Browns.

Wait, hold on, hold on.

I don't understand.

We talk about unstable franchises.

I'm trying to understand what are the agents basing that off of?

Because the Bengals have been stable for a very long time.

agent, one agent referred to the Bengals as a mom and pop ownership.

The Bengals are owned by Mike Brown, and he has several family members working at the team's front office, similar to Dallas.

Ocho, a lot of people say never mix family with business.

So the Cowboys and Bengals were family run.

And, you know, Jerry, like, he in the docker series, he called Stephen, he called Charlotte, he called Jerry, Jerry Jr.

He said, guys, I'm gonna do this, but it's all hands on deck.

Right.

Stephen says, hey, I need you guys to move to Dallas.

they all did

um

mike brown came up on his daddy paul who cleared created the cleveland browns on the browns boom art model got him started with a new team cincinnati bengals and there you have it yeah yeah

i don't like that though i don't i don't i don't i don't like that for the simple fact if you look at the direction and where the bangles were and how far they've come in trying to build a winning team and how people have the moniker of they are very cheap to where they now have changed that narrative and have paid their players.

I just don't understand.

Oh, you're they played two players.

Stop.

Well, they've been playing players.

And think about it.

I'm 57.

They came into existence in 1968.

So in 57 years, they've really played two players.

Stop it.

Do I need to break down all the players that they've actually played?

I know the players that they've let go, that they refuse to pay.

But anyway,

but look, a lot of teams.

I think the thing is, Ocho, is that you look at the Colts.

The Colts,

they kind of, you know, Jim Ersay, rest his soul.

Now his daughters are in charge.

Yes.

Virginia McCasky, rest her soul.

Her dad.

Founded the Chicago Bears.

George Hallis, Mr.

Hallis, he's passed on, passed it down to the son.

Amy Adams,

Bud Adams, daughter,

she took over, I think, older Amy Adams.

I think that's how you say it.

But if you go back and look at

Mr.

Wilson that owned the Buffalo Bills, they sold it.

So, I mean, you know, you look at look at the Rams when

Georgia Francier, when she passed, they sold it.

Yeah.

Some, some like, we don't want that headache.

You look at the bowling family.

They couldn't come to a consensus on who was going to run it.

Right.

They ended up selling it to Rob Walton and his family, the Pinners.

So to each his own.

Yeah,

I don't like that.

I don't like what the agents are talking about because I'm just thinking of how bad the organization used to be.

And I'm picturing where they are now.

And they're in a good space.

So them being unstable, Mike Brown, Katie, Troy Blackburn, Duke Tobin, Zach Taylor, they have done a phenomenal job in building a winning team,

building a team for one, getting the quarterback that gives you a chance.

So each year, every year we come in, even though we missed the playoff last year, we have a chance.

And it's all based on how we start.

those first three, four weeks.

That's what matters most.

We don't have to rely on anybody on the back end of the season hoping so-and-so win so we can get in.

We got to take care of our business starting this goddamn Sunday down there in Cleveland on that water.

Let's go Browns.

Come again?

Let's go Browse.

You don't want to bet?

You don't want to bet none?

I don't.

Okay.

Hey, this is Matt Jones.

I'm Drew Franklin, and this is NFL Cover Zero.

We think NFL coverage should be informative and entertaining.

And twice a week, that is is exactly what you're going to get.

We're just here to try to give you an NFL perspective a little bit different.

Did you see the Colts pretzel?

That was my other big takeaway from that game.

What was that?

Looks like something that should not be sold.

Oh, my.

So that was my other big Colts takeaway.

They sold that?

Yes.

Might want to go back to the colours.

At the Colts Stadium.

Yeah, I might want to go back to the drawing board on that.

Yeah.

I thought the shape we had with pretzels was working pretty well.

This worked for generations.

We're just here trying to enjoy it.

We hope you all will join us throughout the year and let's go.

I hope I'm as youthful as Pete Carroll is at his age.

He's a young 73.

He is a young 73.

He is spry.

I wouldn't fight him.

I would.

Kristen McCaffrey did not practice today with a calf issue that popped up during yesterday's workout, but he made it clear that he believes he'll be on the field Sunday against the Seahawks.

I always plan to play.

I feel great where I'm at.

Unfortunately, when you have an injury history that I have, sometimes when you don't practice, things get blown out of proportion.

But like I said, I feel great.

Ojo, should we make something out of this?

Yes,

yes, because he's always hurt.

I love McCaffrey.

I love the player he is when he's actually on the field playing.

But these things continuously always happen to him.

Soft tissue injuries, a nick here, a nick there.

Uncle you say it all the time.

If you limp in the season, you will limp out the season.

The fact that people are getting hurt,

and the season hasn't even started.

Well, it started, but teams haven't even played yet.

And some people are already hurt.

How are we already hurt?

You know what it all comes down to?

You don't practice as much.

You don't hit as much.

But for some reason, everyone continues.

You hurt more.

You hurt more.

You want to know why?

It all comes down to one thing.

And again, I say this all the time.

This is why they need to listen to me.

Oto versus science.

Science is a reason that everyone is getting hurt.

All this healthy stuff that they're eating, they're putting in their bodies, and they're wondering why their bodies are breaking down.

You ain't even done nothing yet.

Likely, Baltimore hurt right now.

Christian McCaffrey ailing.

You know, I mean, like, come on, man.

I can see it.

The season has started.

You didn't play two, three, four, maybe five games, and then something comes up.

We ain't done nothing yet.

Man, come on, man.

Guys, I know you guys were expecting we were supposed to have Ghostface on, but he's having internet issues.

And so instead of just having it go in and out, we say we'll connect with him another time.

So we're sorry for any inconvenience.

Some of you guys might have popped on.

Some of them in the chat might have just popped on to see Ghostface.

There will be no Ghostface tonight.

He's having internet issues with the Wi-Fi.

And we said, look.

just come back at a later time when you get this thing connected so we can have perfect connection.

So that's what's going on.

Unfortunately, we're not going to be able to get Ghost on tonight, but Truck best believe we'll

he'll be back.

He'll come on at a later date in time.

I agree with you, Ocho.

Look, they don't,

I just don't understand how guys are hurt more when you hit less.

I do understand because your body's not calloused, your body's not used to taking their blows.

And so, then all of a sudden, you start taking those blows, and your body's not used to it.

You're not used to falling, you're not used to getting banged.

You're not used to getting bumped into,

I'm used to talking football turves.

Uh, you're not, you're not used to, you're not used to the collisions that you have in practice.

Sometimes guys get run into in practice, oh, Joe, yeah, yeah, yeah,

yeah.

I mean, and now, I mean, damn, guys, stay hurt.

Yeah,

I'm telling you, tell you what the common, I'm telling you what the common denominator is, I'm telling you what the common factor is, but nobody wants to listen to me,

yeah,

yeah, he must be got the same internet providers Joe got

Oh, Joe.

The Seattle Seahawks will have undercover law enforcement officers wearing opposing team jersey at Luminan Field this season in

an effort to quickly detect and address illegal and unruly fan behavior.

I like this.

I like it.

It's cool.

It's cool.

It's cool, but one of the things, one of the enjoyments you have as a fan is to be at a game and be unruly to talk trash to say some things whatever you want to say from the stands as long as it's not um

long as you don't throw objects you should be able to say whatever you want to say now unruly now the fighting okay now that if you want to niche get it get it get a hold on but the racial slurs the homophobic slurs the xenophobic slurs yeah yeah you know you know when you combine alcohol and your team is not winning yeah you know people all of a sudden they get out of hand yeah and you know you're like well hey he just you know uh we're at a game and you know the motions high logic is low and then when you get alcohol

because alcohol all does alcohol does is break down inhibitions yeah whatever you say you thought about sober

a so a drunken mouth is a sober man's thoughts oh yeah

So you only say it, don't you?

You only saying

what you thought sober.

Mm-hmm.

People like, man, man, he got drunk.

He did.

No, he thought about stealing that dunk truck while he was sober.

He thought about stealing this plane while he was sober.

He just built up the courage to do it while he was drunk.

Yeah, I think it's more so to fight, no.

When you talk about the unruly fans getting drunk, being intoxicated, they're fighting against each other.

I think that's more so.

Well, what you think leads to fights?

Talking trash.

People just don't be.

you start calling people out of their name and you know you start and all of a sudden you start touching you all in people faith man nobody wants to smell your drunken breath yeah

you're right

i you know i i've always just tried to like have my family or you know friend look bro don't don't wear no don't wear no 84 juries or no 82 juries up there in that stands bro it ain't worth it yeah i wouldn't definitely wouldn't let nobody go to oakland you asking for it the black hobes

black hobbies?

Yeah.

Man, please.

Man, the people crazy over there, man.

And the people was crazy at the black hole.

You tell it.

They throwing the bus.

They rocking the bus on the way in.

Nah.

Yeah.

Oh, Joe.

Andrew Reese got suspended for the first half of a game, saying her teammates suck.

The sky made a statement saying, the Chicago sky values the safety, respect, and well-being of every player.

We are committed to accountability so our players can stay focused on playing basketball.

Because of the statements detrimental to the team made by Angel Reese during a league-mandated media, she will not play in the first half of the game, September 7th, against the Las Vegas Aces.

This matter has been handled and resolved internally, and we're moving forward as a team.

Now, mind you, she's suspended for a game because she picked up her eighth technical foul.

So, and I think that's tonight.

That was tonight, right?

She was suspended tonight, and now she suspended the first half against the Aces

on the 7th to be Monday, correct?

Yeah.

Sunday.

Sunday.

My bad.

Sunday.

Sunday.

Sunday.

Yeah, look.

Andrew expressed her dissatisfaction with the state of the franchises, what she said.

I like to be here for my career, but if things don't pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction and do what's best for me.

But while I'm here, I'm going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can.

She then called out specific teammates by name and expressing her desire for Marsh to coach the team harder.

She also, she was also, she was quoted multiple times saying, we need great players.

She also questioned whether Courtney Vandersloot was capable of returning to form at the age she's at after tearing an ACL seven games into the season.

We need someone probably a little younger with some experience, somebody who's been playing the game and willing to compete for a championship and has done it before.

Damn, man.

Shit.

Hey, most of the time too, Unc, with someone like that, someone, someone as young as Angel, who, who's coming to the game that has great passion,

who's good, there are certain things that you can think, but you never say out loud, especially when it's talking about your teammates.

The teammates see all the time, teammates that have grinded with you through training camp, the teammates that...

obviously go to war with you on the court on the hardwood and i that that that would be very offensive yeah that would Of course, it would.

I couldn't really walk in that locker room and look them in their face again.

Nah.

I mean, I couldn't.

It'd be tough.

I would never say nothing like that.

Ultra, we'd have been on teams.

Well, we had teammates that suck that

we thought were buns.

Yeah, we wouldn't say that, Uncle.

No,

no, ever.

No, no, no, never.

Hell, I mean, at some point in time, they might have thought I was buns.

I mean,

I like to think even, you know, being a seventh round draft pick and working, I thought I was a pretty good player.

I was a good special teams player, even though I wasn't contributing that much on offense.

But I like to think that once I got my way into the starting lineup consistently in 92 and moving forward, I like to think I was a pretty good player.

And just because I was a pretty good player, that didn't mean I needed to take a shot at players that I didn't think were on my level.

or didn't play.

Look, yeah, I can be upset, Ocho, when we lost the game.

And I know guys that didn't play well.

Right.

I know.

I can look up at the Jumbo Tron and see who gave up that sack.

I can look up at the Jumbo Tron and see who missed the block.

I can go get the steal shots.

We didn't have it like they do now, Ocho.

You can see that the whole entire play.

We just had the steal shots where you had to, like, damn

like that.

I mean, look,

she's an emotional, she's an emotional player, and she let her emotions get the best of her.

Let's not, let's not, let's not, let's not, let's not dig a grave and bury her.

She was a young woman.

She's not used to losing.

She was at LSU.

They won the national championship and they went to the final four.

They didn't get it done the next year, but she's used to winning.

She's not used to losing.

And you have to,

and like I tell people, you handle losing with the same grace and dignity as you handle winning.

If you're gracious in winning, you got to be gracious in defeat.

You got to be the same.

And she let emotions get the best of her.

But even if your emotions get the best of her, you can't take like my teammates.

We need great players.

Because some of our teammates probably say, yeah, we sure do.

We sure do.

Yeah.

Oh, man.

So, like I said, she, she, she, she'll learn.

She'll learn.

She'll learn what to say, what not to say.

She'll learn how to say it.

She probably could have said, look, we just got to get better.

I've got to get better.

We've got to get better as a team.

We've got to, you know.

And now a lot of the stuff that she said, she probably could have told a coach to him, you know, coach, I'd like to have a conversation.

I'd like to have a meeting with you.

Or she could go upstairs and talk to, you know,

personnel department.

Everything is not for the paper.

Everything is not for television.

Everything is not for public consumption.

Right.

And obviously, now when you come out and you say things like that, especially about your teammate, now you put a microscope, which is already on you anyway.

Now you got to put a microscope and pressure on yourself because now they're going to nitpick.

By every little thing.

So now you got to go out there and be that shining light, be that shining star consistently for that team that you talked about.

Yep.

It's

like I said, you know, she'll learn.

She made a, you know,

she let her emotions get the best of her.

And

she'll move on.

And

hopefully we don't have a repeat of this.

And she'll be better for it.

But I tell you what, hey, she Dennis Robin Robin on the glass, man.

She be balding that.

She be balding.

Yeah, man.

She'd be balding.

Clippers owner Steve Balmer are accused of circumventing the NBA salary cap via an alleged $28 million no-show marketing deal between Kawhi Leonard and a third-party company that Barmer had invested in.

Barmer claims he had no knowledge of the deal between Kawhi and Aspirations, a now bankrupt digital bank and tree planting startup whose co-founder pleaded guilty to fraud.

That journalist, Pablo Torrey, reported Wednesday on his podcast.

Pablo Torrey finds out.

Look,

all I know is this.

There have been instances where they've been under the table handshake deals.

Yes, sir.

Now,

Adam Silver is a lot more lenient than David Stern.

David Stern dropped a hammer on Minnesota and he basically ruined him.

He basically gave him the death penalty.

First of all, he undid the deal that they had with Joe Smith.

Right.

And then he took like five first-round draft picks.

He basically, it was, it was basically the equivalent of what the NCA did to SMU.

He gave him the death penalty.

Right.

I don't know what's going to happen.

I don't know what's true.

I mean, there's a lot of circumstantial evidence and maybe Adam Silver says circumstantial is not good enough right but the company went bankrupt the creditors now become public

yeah i i saw steve barmer came out and he uh he had a sit-down i'm not sure who the sit-down was with saw him i think it was remote shelburne oh yeah i saw him explaining himself about the situation it didn't look good Yeah, and him saying, well, what Kawhi does in his personal time and his personal business, whatever company this might be,

that's on him.

As if he's finding a way to see himself out.

He's trying to distance himself from the situation.

Right.

Damn.

So why would that company have a deal with Kawhi?

That's out my pay grade and understanding exactly how and why that went on.

Yeah,

it's not a good look.

I think the owners really like

Steve Bomber.

He's easy to like.

I like his passion.

I love how he's cheering for his team and he gets so caught up.

He's a fan.

I think sometimes he forgets that he's an owner.

He's a fan.

Yeah, he's the owner.

Yeah.

Absolutely.

I mean, he's in it.

I love it.

Man worth $150 billion.

And

he acted like he got tickets up in the rafters.

He's so excited.

Yeah.

Like you said, Ocho,

I read a little bit of it.

It's not a good look.

I'm sure the NFL, NFL, the NBA will do their due diligence and whatever needs to happen.

But even if he's found guilty, I don't think they're going to make them trade Kawhi or lose Kawhi.

I don't think he's going to be a death sentence like what Adam

Donald, Donald Sterling,

David Stern did to the, did to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

And he suspended Glenn Taylor for a year, and he suspended Kevin McHale for a year.

Oh, yeah, he dropped a hammer.

He dropped a hammer on him.

He really dropped it.

He dropped the hammer on him.

I don't know if it's going to be that state I made.

It might not be anything.

It might just be a fine, but it doesn't look good, but hey, we'll see what happens.

All right.

It's time for our final segment of the evening.

It's time for Q and A.

Yeah.

Hey, we got football tomorrow, too, right?

This is a game.

Yeah, college.

Okay.

Yeah, we.

Gary Peters said, Ocho looked like the California California Razor.

You know, you heard it through the grapevine.

Hey, I remember the California razor they used to be saying it,

and they were saying, Heard it through the grapevine.

Yeah, the Marvin Gay song, yes, yes.

They were all dressed up, had little tucks on, had little white gloves on the heads, and everything.

Yeah,

uh,

not Ocho clean tonight, Ocho clean tonight.

You can't tell him anything.

All the money said, Ocho dressed like James Bond, body double.

Keep up the good commentary, gents.

Man,

i don't hear no water

hands come back look at her look all i see all i do is see a zip he zipped up his pants ain't seen no water i don't see nobody no no no wetness on his hands or nothing who me

and he touched his nose hey hey hey what did that person say i look like what

uh California razor.

Said he heard it through the grapevine.

But that must be somebody old, even.

Remember that?

Yeah, hey, the chat making fun of my making fun of my tuxedo.

I just say you dress like a James Bond body double.

Yeah, that's me.

I could be a James Bond.

I could be a 007.

I could be a 007.

I told the chat.

You be a 5900, too.

Let me get that.

I got you.

I got you.

I got you.

I got you.

I went to the Jeezy concert tonight, and I was watching the game on my phone at the Jeezy concert.

How was it?

How was the concert?

It was really good.

You know, he got

the orchestra with him.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

He did eight, he's in tucks or something.

It's called

it's black tie.

So everybody, grown folk, grown for everybody in there, look good, you know, real spiffy.

So I enjoyed it.

It was right, right, right around the corner here in Cincinnati.

And

that was it.

That was it.

Went in there.

Enjoyed myself, man.

Uh, December said,

Unc made Ocho dress up because he ain't paying him that $5,200.

$59 now is a little higher than that.

Matter of fact, you know what?

Matter of fact,

you know what?

Make it $6,000.

Just make it an evening.

61.

I got you.

I got you.

I got you.

No problem.

Kimber Norwood Jr.

said the Broncos will win the AFC West this year.

I agree, Kemper.

Huh?

They win the what?

I know who won't win the AFC North.

All right.

This is a different year.

You're right.

I won't bet nothing.

This is a different year.

Joe X Black said, football is back, baby.

What a game by my Chargers.

What a game by the Chargers tonight.

Uncle Your Broncos better watch out.

God bless y'all and the Nightcap crew.

Go Cowboy.

Hell no, Joe.

Ain't no gold, no Cowboys.

You said all that.

You talk about the Chargers, talk about the Broncos, talking about God bless Nightcap and the crew.

And then you're going to talk about Go Cowboy.

You think you slick, Joe?

Hell no.

Ain't no gold, no Cowboys.

Casey Taylor say, yo, Unc, what's the story between you and

Michael Irving?

Y'all, are y'all super close?

Y'all kept dapping up like cousins.

Haven't seen each other in years.

It was awesome to watch.

cool stories.

Man, look,

the Mike that you see,

that's how he is all the time.

All the time.

24-7.

I met Mike

first time in 91 at the Pro Bowl when I went with my brother.

He was cool with me.

And ever since then, and

every time I would like see him at the, when we, he was in the Super Bowl, I was in the Super Bowl.

We bumped each other.

And it's just like, he's a guy that makes you feel like he's been knowing you your whole life.

And you just pick right up where you left off.

Pick right up where you left off.

He's great.

And then, like,

we go to the hall, and I don't get a chance to go back.

And I probably should go more, try to get back as much as I possibly can.

But it's a huge undertaking to get, especially when I got so much stuff going on.

But that's not an excuse.

So

sorry, I don't even want to throw that out there.

But he and I was always like, we'd be at the back of the bus and we'd be talking and be laughing and joking about everything uh you need to pull up i think there was a clip somebody recorded it uh uh of him and i just joking going back and forth but that's the type of relationship that we have we're kind of more like you know brothers

and uh but he's a great guy he's a great guy michael he's he's one of a kind he's one of a kind

Sonny Ray said this

the year for Lamar or Josh, if ever.

Yeah, look, Lamar said this is the best team that he's been a part of.

Lamar hasn't had any excuses.

They've been had one of the most loaded teams in the AFC.

Lamar just needs to, the Lamar that we see in the regular season, that we've seen over the last three, four regular seasons, that's the Lamar that needs to show up come playoff time for the entirety of the playoffs.

If that were to happen, Ravens gonna be the Super Bowl champs.

I love how you're just skipping over the Bengals, but okay.

I'm gonna let you rock out.

Lamar

roll the bingles.

Dabbin Mitchell said, watch every nightcap, watch every night live from Scottsdale.

Davin, appreciate that.

Thank you.

Appreciate all you guys that's in the chat tonight.

All you guys that are watching live, listening.

Thank you.

All the guys that everybody that watches and listens and say, hey, man, y'all got to watch Uncanocho on Nightcap, man.

They be having me dying laughing.

We thank you as well because it's because of you that Nightcap has been able to become the phenomenon that we've become.

Eagle fan, I'm in Philly watching Nightcap on the big screen at the bar shout out to unknown

eagle fan thank you

nate harper says hey uncanocho what do the eagles need to do to improve on the defense i think they need to put cooper dijon outside the cornerback and bench a dory jackson well look ojo yeah

in football we call it a fish uh um a lot of times we say okay we find a weak link

And we keep tugging until we find it.

We keep turning the door handle until one of them's open.

Yeah.

And the door jacket is going to have to get that fixed.

Yeah.

He's going to have to get it fixed.

It's really, it's really that simple.

It's on film now, huh?

For sure.

And once you put it on film, they're coming at you every game.

Yep.

Every game they're coming at you.

But you see, they saw last night they couldn't get pressure.

They side, you sued their side.

They decided to Darius Smith today.

Yeah, because they understood.

They understood.

Absolutely.

We got to get a body in here that can put some pressure on the quarterback before, so we can't have our back end and get exposed.

So we can and see when you lost they lost two starters that could go pin their ears back i think one went to new england and the other i forget what the other one went um

but you see they blowing by you're getting everybody tired now those guys that were their backups they're the starters now they're finding it's a little harder now all of a sudden those guys aren't tired

yeah

it's the difference different

finding that out But they're going to have to get pressure.

They're going to have to get pressure without sacrificing that secondary.

Hey,

y'all talked about Darius Slay.

Darius Slay still had some life in those legs.

Wasn't that wrong with him?

That's a business move.

Legendary, that boy Justin Jefferson, a bad man.

Put some respect on that man.

Let's effing go.

Okay.

Peacemaker, advocate.

If a player knows he's going to say something in an interview, that's going to cost him more than skipping it.

He might be wise to keep quiet.

I just think the thing is, OJo, you can control it.

Yeah.

You're frustrated.

Everybody gets frustrated.

You lose a game that you think you should win or it's a close game and you don't play well.

Bro, just go out there and BS your way through it.

we just got to be better

we got to be better that what we that today wasn't good enough maybe against another team on another day that have been good enough but it wasn't good enough today so we go back and look at the tape we got a we got to be more attentive in meetings we got to be better in practice We ask everybody, coaches, players alike, to be better.

In order for us to be the type of team that we know we can become,

we have to be better.

You don't have to go there and blow everybody up.

Nobody going to be up there and say, oh, man, oh, now all of a sudden, we really like this guy because he just blew up all his teammates.

No, it doesn't work like that.

Yeah.

It's too small.

All-star Cowboy DC for life.

What up, Akanocho?

I'm a Cowboys fan, and I can honestly say our run defense looks pretty damn good.

I got to see a lot more as the season progresses, but overall,

more than what most expected yeah

i'll give them credit they played they played well last night

you let the quarterback get out but you know most teams don't have a quarterback that's as athletic and as mobile as jalen hurts so you should feel so um

but you should be concerned ain't gonna pressure

your defense built the pressure

and

I like the Cowboys offense in the first half.

I didn't really like anybody's offense in the second half.

Only three points were scored, Ocho.

Yeah.

So, with that being said, the Cowboys had to be pleased with their rush defense.

They weren't happy with their past rush defense.

But, yeah.

They'll be okay.

But that defense is better.

That division is better.

Got better, yeah.

Top to bottom.

Flay said, Uncle It was so funny when you and Mike imitated Al Davis.

When you and Mike, him,

uh, he didn't imitate Al, just

Al is look,

it's kind of like, oh, Joe, when you like, you go somewhere, you take on the habits.

I mean, I don't know who the, who, I guess, the Jets.

I mean, who, who, who, when, who's the uh, the Patriots rival?

The Jets

or Buffalo or the Dolphins,

probably the Jets.

Yeah, maybe, maybe the Jets.

And so, with that being said, like, okay, look, it's always, we had what we call Raider Week.

Raiders are our rivals.

We don't like Kansas City either.

San Diego, Seattle.

All of us used to be in the same division.

But

once Mike came there and he told us that,

like, oh, no, we're going to get it.

We're going to take it out of Mike.

We're going to take it out of Al's ass, dude.

We're going to beat the hell out of this team.

Owe the man money and talk about sue me.

And it's going to cost you more in attorney fees than what I owe you.

Who said that?

Oh, yeah, we got to have you.

Yeah.

We got to have you.

Pay that man the money.

But he was great.

The thing is,

he had been around football so long.

He's the first commissioner of the AFL.

He knew good players.

He'll always walk around Ocho.

He had that white sweatsuit on.

Yeah.

White pants.

He had a white sweatsuit.

He had on white pants.

You arrived like, you know, coming from the south, you know, we didn't wear a white past Labor Day.

Labor Day, yeah.

Man, Al got on white in September, October, November, December, January.

Al got on white, got on white.

And he would always come.

And, you know, he's like, you want to be a Raider?

No, I kind of like it right here.

I'm good.

I'm good.

The Bronco, Mr.

B treat me quite well.

Annabelle

Escobedo.

The Chargers beat the Chiefs

27-21.

Justin Herbert was 25 of 34, 3-18, three touchdowns.

That closed the game out.

They burned out the last two minutes of the ball game as they win.
