Speaker 1 And this time, number one, Caleb Williams, got the better of number two, J.D., Jaden Daniels. Remember, last year, it was Jaden Daniels on the Hail Mary that won the game on the last play of the game.

Speaker 1 This time,

Speaker 1 Caleb Williams lead a game. They fumbled.

Speaker 1 The Commanders fumbled the football. The Chicago Bears ran it down and got them in field goal range.
Caleb did, and they kicked kicked a walk-off field goal and they win 25-24. You guys know who I am.

Speaker 1 I'm your favorite unc, Shannon Sharp. And there's my guy, just fresh from the NBA Young Boy YB concert.

We got Dave East joining us a little bit later. My camera just turned on.

Speaker 1 We got Dave East joining us in the second hour. But first, the Bears beat the Commanders 25-24.
Washington finished tonight with three turnovers. They had three turnovers coming into tonight.

Speaker 1 They matched that with three tonight.

Speaker 1 Washington had two fumbles, one by Jaden Daniels and the other by Jakore, Koski, Merritt. And Jayton Daniels threw an interception.
That led to costly

Speaker 1 possessions. And, you know, when you turn the football over, you've heard it said before, you pay for that and you pay double.

Speaker 1 Give, I wonder what they're going to say now because you know, when they when they lose Caleb Williams, it's his fingernails. Yeah.
Man, stop picking your fingernails.

Speaker 1 So I wonder what they're going to say now because now it's not so, did he win? Right. If I'm not mistaken, they had a close-up and I saw his pinky and it had nail polish on it.
Yeah. So

Speaker 1 winning or losing, his nails don't have anything, Ocho, to do with winning and losing. I thought he was very well tonight.
He was 17 to 29, 252, one touchdowns. He did take three sacks, but

Speaker 1 he didn't turn the ball over. And when you take care of the football in the inclement weather, hey, and you know, he turns the ball over.
They ran the ball.

Speaker 1 I thought DeAndre Swift did a great job of running the football, especially late, Ocho, because the one thing you didn't want to do was give Washington the ball back, and they made sure they didn't get it back.

Speaker 1 And he ran 14 carries of bucko eight, 27 carries total for the uh bears 145 yards one touchdown uh kale williams did have a touchdown pass that was also to deandre swift but i thought they played really really well washington's gonna kick themselves because they turned the ball over which they had done a great job of taking care of the football prior to tonight ojo what

Speaker 1 you brought i know hopefully you watch some highlights on the on the uh on the way back to the house huh

Speaker 1 Highlights.

Speaker 23 What about the highlights?

Speaker 1 Oh, the Bears, Washington.

Speaker 23 No, I ain't watched no highlights. I watched the game, huh?

Speaker 1 Okay. Yeah.
So,

Speaker 1 what did you like about what you saw from the Bears?

Speaker 23 Well, obviously, I like Caleb. Caleb was very passionate.

Speaker 23 He was struggling a little bit despite what it looked like.

Speaker 23 You can see he was a little frustrated on the sideline.

Speaker 23 There were some passes that he wasn't completing.

Speaker 23 But

Speaker 23 towards the end of the game.

Speaker 23 I think it was that third and four. But they really needed that play.
He hit

Speaker 23 DeAndre Swift.

Speaker 1 Yep.

Speaker 23 and Swift went for goddamn 55. Obviously, missed tackles.
And when you play a game like that in inclement weather, where it's very bad, the one thing you don't want to do is turn the ball over.

Speaker 23 And that's the one thing that the commanders did do. The commanders turned the ball over.

Speaker 23 They pressured, they had four and five-man pressures. They pressured goddamn Jaden Daniels.
And I don't want to say he didn't struggle, but obviously losing a fumble, getting sacked.

Speaker 23 Montez sweat was hell damn near all night.

Speaker 1 Yeah, but look, this game

Speaker 1 could have been better. I think you got to give the Bears defense a lot of credit.
They brought Dennis Allen. Dennis Allen, we know he's a very good defensive coordinator.

Speaker 1 He hadn't had the success that you would like to see him have as a head coach. He was the head coach of the Raiders.
He was the head coach of the Saints, and he didn't have success.

Speaker 1 But as a defensive coordinator, you go back and look at his time at the Broncos. You go back and look at his time as a DC with New Orleans.
He's done a great job of coordinating defenses.

Speaker 1 And now he's back in that role. I thought Ben Johnson did a great job.
You're right.

Speaker 1 They could have had an opportunity to maybe get the game to be ahead, but Caleb took his eyes off the ball. They had a shotgun snap and they were going to hand it to him.

Speaker 1 And he took his eyes off the ball and the ball got here and he ended up losing a couple yards on a third and short. But he played well, given the conditions.
Now, both teams played.

Speaker 1 It wasn't like one team was playing in a phone booth and the other team was playing outside in inclement weather. They were both, but I thought the Bears did a better job of dealing with that.

Speaker 1 And when you're dealing with factors like that, you got snow, you got sleet, you got rain, you got adverse conditions.

Speaker 1 Whichever team can handle those conditions the best, that is normally the team that's going to win the ball game.

Speaker 1 Go ahead.

Speaker 23 I want to say, not only handle the conditions the best, but also with those conditions, not turn the ball over.

Speaker 23 You got to protect the ball because you know, as you always say, you pay, you pay double for those turnovers, and that's exactly what happened to the commanders tonight.

Speaker 1 Yes, um,

Speaker 1 Caleb Williams, 17 to 29, 252, one touchdown. Jaden Daniels, 19 to 26, 211, three touchdowns.
But when you turn the ball over, you don't really get an opportunity because they turn it over early.

Speaker 1 But hey,

Speaker 1 they'll learn from this. They got to do a better job of protecting it because, look,

Speaker 1 there's no clear-cut favorite in either conference, I don't think. I don't think there's like, oh, my God, this team is unbeatable.

Speaker 1 I feel like on any given Sunday, if teams play their best and you're slightly off, now both teams play their best. Do I think Washington is a little better than Chicago? I do.

Speaker 1 But I think they lowered themselves or they elevated the Bears by turning the ball over three times.

Speaker 1 And you can't turn the ball over in this league because, look, as talented as JD is, they're not talented enough to overcome three turnovers.

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 1 And I thought Ben Johnson called a great game for the Bears. I thought he did an unbelievable job.
I thought Kayla Williams did a great,

Speaker 1 did an unbelievable job of distributing the football.

Speaker 1 Look,

Speaker 1 they had two fumbles, but they ended up getting them back.

Speaker 1 But Washington's got to do a better job of taking care of the football. And mainly the quarterback, the ball's in your hand.
You have to take care of the football.

Speaker 1 And he didn't do a good enough job of that tonight. And it cost him a victory that

Speaker 1 they probably feel like they should have won the ball game.

Speaker 1 Because early on, Chicago, they kept them out of the end zone, 6-6, you know, 13-7. And then they scored 10 points into the third quarter to end up

Speaker 1 taking the lead.

Speaker 1 You see what happens when you turn the ball over late and Chicago gets an opportunity, Johnny on the spot, guy falls on it and takes off.

Speaker 1 And the next thing you know, they're going to travel back to Chicago with a victory.

Speaker 1 But you don't get an opportunity to salt very long because, you know, you got a game next week.

Speaker 23 Right, right back to it.

Speaker 1 And sometimes that's the best.

Speaker 23 That's the 24-hour rule.

Speaker 1 Sometimes that's the best thing is that you don't want to linger.

Speaker 1 You hate to go into a bye week after loss because you're thinking about it the whole time you're off and like, man, what we could be, what we should be, what could have been.

Speaker 1 Man, I can't believe we let that one slip away. You have to have a short memory.
You play Monday night, you're off Tuesday, you're right back at it Wednesday.

Speaker 1 So you have to, you know, you have to have a very, you have to have amnesia. You have to forget about it because there's nothing else, there's nothing you can do about what just happened.
That's over.

Speaker 1 Now you could let it linger and it'll cost you again on Sunday.

Speaker 1 Or you can forget about that and take your frustrations out on someone else Sunday. And I think that's what they're going to do.

Speaker 1 I think, you know,

Speaker 1 DQ will do a great job of rallying the troops, getting them ready to play. And I have no doubt in my mind we'll see a team that comes out invigorated.
They'll take care of the football.

Speaker 1 Who do they play on Sunday? They'll take care of the football, but that's the one thing that you have to do a great job of is taking care of the football.

Speaker 1 Because even when you turn the ball over, even if teams aren't very good.

Speaker 1 You'll bring them up to your level.

Speaker 23 Yeah, yeah, most definitely.

Speaker 1 Oh, the commanders play the Cowboys in Dallas.

Speaker 1 Wow, that's going to be a good one.

Speaker 23 They're playing in Dallas.

Speaker 1 Yep.

Speaker 23 On Sunday?

Speaker 1 Yep.

Speaker 23 That's going to be a good one.

Speaker 1 That's going to be a very good one. That's going to be a very good one.

Speaker 1 Dallas is, they want to get back on the winning track. Two teams that's losing, and they don't want to fall further behind in that division.
Right.

Speaker 1 The Giants, they're like, look,

Speaker 1 the Giants play the Broncos.

Speaker 23 Woo! That's going to be a good one.

Speaker 1 The Eagles. Who do the Eagles play? Or are the Eagles on the bye?

Speaker 1 They play the bike. See? Hey.

Speaker 1 Whoever, I mean, you could be sitting pretty. Because what we thought was going to be a foregone conclusion after the Eagles lost two games.
Now, all of a sudden, this division now is a toss-up.

Speaker 1 The Giants, hey, the Giants are starting to feel like, hey, we got a chance.

Speaker 1 The commanders, like, hey, we definitely got a chance.

Speaker 1 Cowboys, hey, I know what the Cowboys are two, three, and one, but hey, hey, you beat the Commanders. Now you're three, three, and one.

Speaker 23 Right back in it.

Speaker 1 And they got four losses. You got three losses on a tie.
You're in front of them because you've already beat them head to head.

Speaker 1 Hey,

Speaker 1 if Minnesota can give you some love.

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 1 And Broncos helped the Broncos. Well, Broncos gonna help y'all out.

Speaker 1 Already to put that call. Already to put that call in.
Baker, go

Speaker 1 Baker.

Speaker 1 The Broncos go help y'all out.

Speaker 23 You think so?

Speaker 1 Yep.

Speaker 23 You've been real confident lately.

Speaker 23 Y'all barely beat the Jets.

Speaker 1 See, in a situation like that, you don't have to do anything fancy. Okay.
We don't have to take unnecessary risk because they can't move the ball. Think about how they scored.

Speaker 1 They got a 72-yard kick return. They got a short field

Speaker 1 strip.

Speaker 1 And they drove the ball one time. They got a safety.
So they got three points on things that they generated. Oof.

Speaker 1 Nah, we don't need to take no unnecessary risk. And

Speaker 1 our best offense was the Jets offense.

Speaker 23 Yeah, it was bad. That was bad on them.
And

Speaker 23 the funny thing about it, that was the NFL game. If you show somebody that stat line and didn't tell them what game it was or who was playing, they would probably say, maybe it's high school.

Speaker 23 Maybe it's, you know,

Speaker 23 I've never seen nothing like that.

Speaker 23 Never,

Speaker 1 but the Bears beat the Commanders. So now it's a matchup that we're going to see going forward.
They're one and one. Last year, Jaden Daniels on a Hail Mary wins it on a walk-off.

Speaker 1 This time, Caleb Williams drives his ball club down, gets them in position, and they kick a walk-off field goal 25-24. The Bears beat

Speaker 1 the Commanders. A game two.

Speaker 2 What a batchup we got, y'all.

Speaker 4 This is that classic HBCU vibe.

Speaker 5 Non-stop action.

Speaker 6 The band is rocking and the crowd lick.

Speaker 7 Chants echo.

Speaker 1 Atlanta Falcons

Speaker 1 took down the Buffalo Bills by the score of 2414.

Speaker 1 Boy, that Bijan Robinson was something special to nigh

Speaker 1 He was on one. He was in his bag tonight.
Yeah,

Speaker 1 go ahead.

Speaker 23 Now, we're going to say he was in his bag.

Speaker 23 We need to have a conversation.

Speaker 23 We need to have a conversation. We always talk about the top five backs.

Speaker 1 He was always. He was in the discussion for sure.

Speaker 23 Yeah, he was always in the discussion. Now,

Speaker 23 based on his small sample size and body of work so far this season, I mean, well, he's the best.

Speaker 1 This season, he's been the best. He and Jonathan Taylor have been the two.

Speaker 23 I just want to make sure we were on the same page because that's what

Speaker 1 we discussed.

Speaker 23 And having that conversation with him being the best right now, you know, I mean, he damn near ran.

Speaker 23 Wait, what happened? My camera went out?

Speaker 23 Oh, that was you.

Speaker 1 What? What is me?

Speaker 23 Something went out.

Speaker 1 Michael Pennys Jr. was 20 of 32, 250, one touchdown.

Speaker 1 No picks. Bijan Robinson ran the ball 19 times for 170 yards and his career-long 81-yard touchdown run.
Algier had 10 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown. Drake London, 10 for 158 and a touchdown.

Speaker 1 He almost got another one right before the half, but they replayed, rebuilt it like they do all scoring and turnover plays. And it was deemed he stepped out at the one-yard line.
B. John Robinson had

Speaker 1 six receptions for 68 yards. He's, look, look, he can do it all.
Now, versatile,

Speaker 1 he's smooth. Oh, man,

Speaker 1 I love how silky smooth is. He put that foot in the dirt.
He's coming downhill. He's going to juke somebody in the hole.

Speaker 1 He's feathery. He's a pleasure to watch.
Josh Allen did not have an MVP night. He was 15 to 26, 180, two touchdowns, but he threw two costly interceptions.
The Falcons got after him.

Speaker 1 They sacked him four times.

Speaker 1 I was surprised, Ocho, James Cook ran the ball extremely well, especially in the second half. James Cook had 17 carries for 87 yards.
Josh Allen had six carries for 42 yards.

Speaker 1 I was surprised at how they started the game off. I thought they would run James Cook a little more early.

Speaker 1 It seemed that in the second half, they came out and made a concerted effort to run him and give him the ball. And you see, the numbers are indicative of that.
But

Speaker 1 give the Falcons credit, I thought their defense bowled their back when they needed to bowl their backs. They picked him off late in the ballgame to seal the victory.

Speaker 1 Look, they were going to have to score a touchdown, get the onside kick, and then still get in field goal range with under 50 seconds left in the ballgame.

Speaker 1 Which was going to be a tall task.

Speaker 1 It's not impossible, but we don't have to worry about that because the ball got tipped and and the uh the backer picked it off so with that being said watching did you see did you get an opportunity to see some of this game yeah yeah i was i was watching everything on my phone i mean oh okay i couldn't i couldn't hear what was going on but i was you didn't need to hear

Speaker 1 you you need to hear

Speaker 1 uh

Speaker 1 the falcons Falcons now are three and two. The Falcons could easily, they could have easily beaten Tampa.

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 23 what I forgot what had happened, what happened that Tampa game?

Speaker 1 Uh, Young Way Co. missed those shots.

Speaker 23 He missed the kicks. That's right.
That's right.

Speaker 23 Oh, man, I can't believe they cut my dog, man.

Speaker 1 What you mean, you can't believe it?

Speaker 23 I mean, that's my homie. You know, I mean, he was cutting the food last year.

Speaker 1 Hey,

Speaker 1 he missed something on Joe. But here's the thing:

Speaker 1 when you,

Speaker 1 you know, being a kicker is is tough yeah once he goes on choke yeah you see the kicker in sam fran yeah movie bit last year they brought him back he kept the game with the night for the bears but sometimes you need to change the scenery

Speaker 1 and i think somebody picked up coke or didn't somebody pick him up ash i think he's on somebody's practice squad

Speaker 1 but uh

Speaker 1 but buffalo buffalo did not look good tonight i think they came out trying to throw the ball maybe it was because the the falcons and maybe it was wasn't so much what they didn't do as opposed to what the Falcons did do.

Speaker 1 Right.

Speaker 1 Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 22 first down to 17 Falcons favor.

Speaker 1 They were 2 of 9 on third down. Buffalo was.
Atlanta was 5 of 12.

Speaker 1 Atlanta had 443 yards of total offense. Buffalo had 291.

Speaker 1 Penalties, 8 for 64, 6 for 35, but it was a two turnovers. When you turn the ball over,

Speaker 1 you're asking somebody to beat your ass. And

Speaker 1 that's what the Falcons did. It's like, hey,

Speaker 1 you know, when you were young, say, hey, go out there and get me a switch.

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 23 The funny thing, too, about it, when I think about the Falcons obviously being three and two,

Speaker 23 Michael Pennix Jr. doesn't have to do that much, even though they have Kyle Pitts, they have Drake London, Ray McCloud, and

Speaker 23 other weapons as well. But with Design Robinson running the goddamn ball the way he's running,

Speaker 23 it takes all the pressure off the quarterback. The quarterback doesn't have to do much, except in certain situations, third downs, where obviously

Speaker 23 you have to throw the ball, you know, when they know you're running. But Bijan Robinson is playing so goddamn well, where

Speaker 23 I don't think he under you, I don't think people understand as good as he is, the conversations, obviously him being the best back in the league, even when everyone else

Speaker 23 gets back to rhythm and getting in flow, including Saquon and Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry, a conversation still needs to be had with Bijan being in that top five, which, I mean, they were wrong about it, unless you're a Falcons fan, you know, last year.

Speaker 23 But I mean, collectively as a whole, we're all NFL fans are in agreeance that he's a top five back in this league.

Speaker 1 What a difference is, is that you saw a lot of Saquon on national televised games last year. You saw Christian McCaffrey.
You saw

Speaker 1 Derrick Henry. You don't really get an opportunity to see a whole lot of Falcons game.

Speaker 1 So he had a breakout game tonight, and people get an opportunity to see what you've been seeing and what we see that watch the games a little bit more closely other than, you know, teams that we root for.

Speaker 1 So we know what Bijan Robinson is. We know he can run the football.
We know he's elusive. He's a versatile back.
He can run inside. He can run with power.
He can run with speed. He can catch it.

Speaker 1 So we know maybe

Speaker 1 the casual fan is just getting hip to B. John Robinson.
Obviously, Falcon fans and people in Atlanta know exactly who and what he is.

Speaker 1 But maybe now the outside world is just not getting an opportunity to catch up because they have had some televised games. And that's what you need.

Speaker 1 Sometimes you need televised games because if you are one of those guys that don't, that doesn't play necessarily a big market, or you have a Monday night or Sunday night game, people are not, or you're in the big game, you're in Fox big game, the four o'clock game, or you're in the big win that CBS, the one o'clock game, unless you play in those games, which they're not, because normally that's reserved for the Cowboys, that's reserved for the Eagles, that's reserved for the, you know, teams like that, or Pittsburgh, or the Ravens or

Speaker 1 Baltimore, things like that. But

Speaker 1 the Falcons, and if they win, if they continue to win the following year, normally what happens, you win.

Speaker 1 And then the following year, Ocho, that's when you get the games that are televised because they normally reward you a year or year later. Now, maybe, who knows?

Speaker 1 Maybe the Falcons get flexed and we see them on a Sunday night. Or we see them

Speaker 1 in a situation like this. But Bijan is,

Speaker 1 yeah, he that dude. He that dude, he's nice.

Speaker 1 How many Russia tips? Can we look up ass right quick? How many rush attempts did

Speaker 1 17

Speaker 1 have in the first half compared to the second half? Because it seemed to me, I could be wrong,

Speaker 1 that he ran more in the second half than he did the first half.

Speaker 1 I mean, 24 Russia tips, well, they only had the ball like 50 plays.

Speaker 23 Cook had seven in the rush of the half. I was right, right?

Speaker 1 He had seven in the the first half, ten in the second half.

Speaker 23 Yeah, I knew I was right.

Speaker 1 But I think,

Speaker 1 and it wasn't like because they tossed the ball to

Speaker 1 DeBijan, and he went 81 yards. And so that didn't take long until you got the ball back.
It wasn't like they was having these grinded-out drives

Speaker 1 that you know 12, 14 plays, 16 plays, 20 plays, 18, 19 play drives. They didn't have any of those.
So Buffalo got to get back to the drawing board.

Speaker 1 Their defense is

Speaker 1 their offense is their defense. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Josh Allen normally has to wear that cape. Yes.
And when he doesn't wear that cape, they're a very average football team. And

Speaker 1 that's how most teams are driven. You look at Lamar.

Speaker 1 When he doesn't have that cape on, now he has a big bringing back, but you still have to pay attention to number eight, Mahomes. He normally has to play great in order for them to win.

Speaker 1 And that's how the teams are situated now. You pay this so much money in those guys.
And when they don't play well, they look very marginal, look very average. Yeah.

Speaker 1 And that's what happened tonight. Buffalo didn't look good tonight.
Buffalo hadn't looked good. I don't think the last two games, I think this is the second game they've lost, right?

Speaker 1 So this is back-to-back losses for them, Ocho, and they haven't looked good in either game.

Speaker 1 Sean McDermott is going to have to do better.

Speaker 1 He's going to be on the hot seat.

Speaker 23 You think so?

Speaker 1 Absolutely.

Speaker 1 Absolutely. Hold on, wait a minute.

Speaker 23 Now, we talk about the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 1 We talk about the Buffalo Bills. And

Speaker 1 they just got approved for new funding for a new stadium.

Speaker 1 He's been the coach. He's the defensive coordinator.
They got rid of Leslie Frazier.

Speaker 23 Yes.

Speaker 1 And

Speaker 1 at some point in time,

Speaker 1 the Pagulas, they're going to want a return on that investment, which means getting to the Super Bowl. I'm tired of being the bridesmaid.

Speaker 1 I'm tired of attending everybody else's wedding and everybody else getting married except I.

Speaker 23 Yeah, but

Speaker 23 I just don't see it. Maybe you see it a little differently than me.

Speaker 23 Maybe you see it a little differently than I do.

Speaker 23 When I look at the bills, obviously, they're going to always come out the AFC East. They could always do that.
They're always going to be in contention. So there's a chance that

Speaker 23 they will be maybe in the ASC championship. But I wouldn't see the Bagulas pulling the trigger that fast knowing that you already have a quarterback in place yes and get somebody else to coach you

Speaker 1 you think so so what's so at what point in time do i keep hitting my head on the ceiling and realize this is as high as i can go

Speaker 23 uh damn homeboy

Speaker 1 because look i don't care how big an animal is supposed to get but if you can find him into an environment he's only going to get so big he'll grow to the confines of that environment right maybe maybe

Speaker 1 and i don't advocate anyone losing their job sean mcdermott is taking him as far as he can take him

Speaker 23 uh I mean, at some point, it happened.

Speaker 1 Tony Dungy got fired.

Speaker 23 Oh, yeah. I remember that.

Speaker 1 And John Druden did what and came in the first year and did what?

Speaker 23 With the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 Okay. With Keyshawn.
We saw that with Mark Jackson and the Golden State Warriors. We see that a lot.
We saw that with Phil Jackson with the Lakers. It happens.

Speaker 1 I don't know.

Speaker 23 Especially a team like that,

Speaker 23 that's so high power when Josh Allen is on.

Speaker 23 There's certain mistakes that they can't make in the playoffs that have haunted them and and most of the time i hate the fact that the coaches get blamed for the mistakes that the players make in important games where moments matter most

Speaker 23 but i i kind of get what you're saying but i kind of don't because they're so good when josh allen is on when he's off i'm not i'm not i i didn't pay a guy 300 million dollars for the regular season

Speaker 1 That's not what I picked. That's not what I gave him $260 plus million dollars fully guaranteed for.
Right. He's already already been to the champions.

Speaker 1 How many times have he been to the championship game? And we see them, he keeps losing to who, be it Kansas City at home or on the road. It does not matter.

Speaker 23 He got to get to get over that hump, boy.

Speaker 1 Look, the Pagulas, the Pagulas,

Speaker 1 they got that, they got funding for a new stadium. They're going to have a new stadium in Buffalo.

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 1 And I know, look, what he wins 10 games, that's not good. 12 games, that's not good enough.

Speaker 1 They have underachieved. They got one of, no matter what you think of him, they have to have one of the three best quarterbacks in football.

Speaker 1 And they've had this type of high-powered offense for the longest.

Speaker 23 Yes.

Speaker 1 And every year that they don't get it done,

Speaker 1 this was supposed to be the year they take down Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 1 This was supposed to be the year. Remember, Buffalo went in there and beat him.
They had, oh, we want Patrick Mahomes. We got Patrick Mahomes.
He got to come to Buffalo.

Speaker 1 He went to Buffalo, put foots in him. They go to Kansas City.
He put foots in them. So it doesn't matter.
At some point in time, Ojo,

Speaker 1 we've got to get to the promised line.

Speaker 23 We had a conversation. Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yes. I'm telling you.
Okay.

Speaker 1 I remember people told me I was crazy when I said Pim State is going to get tired of James Franklin. Now, the AD said exactly what I said.
It played a role that he couldn't beat the big time teams.

Speaker 1 He beat one team in the top 10 in the big 10, and that was 2016 when he beat Ohio State. He's 4-21 against top 10 opponents.
I say they're going to get tired of that.

Speaker 1 Now, you can't beat the team that you can't beat the big time teams, and now you're losing to teams you should never lose to.

Speaker 1 Oh, man, man, man, you reach it. He was just in the college football playoff last year.
Now, where is he at now? Yeah.

Speaker 1 We're going to talk about that. We'll talk about that a little later.

Speaker 1 But I'm telling you, Ocho, these owners, they see

Speaker 1 in order to beat the man, you got to feel you have a man.

Speaker 1 Yeah, they feel they got a guy that can go toe-to-toe with Patrick Mahomes, they feel they got a guy that can go toe-to-toe with Lamar Jackson, with Joe Burrow, whatever quarterback that you have in the ALC that you're going to need to stand toe-to-toe with and come out of the ALC to get to the Super Bowl, they feel they got one in six foot five, 245 pounds, Josh Allen.

Speaker 23 Yes, sir.

Speaker 1 Now, the Bagulas want to know why we keep coming up short

Speaker 23 okay hey

Speaker 23 i i i hate i hate that i hate that the onus always falls back on the coach especially in games like that especially the playoffs where you're turning the ball over where you're fumbling and you know the coach he can't he can't he done got no control over that

Speaker 1 but i mean this that's the business that's the way it works i mean so did they get let me ask you a question yeah did they they give Sean McVay credit for when they won the Super Bowl?

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 Yeah. Okay.
Okay. Okay.
I got you. Did they give Coach Belichick any credit for winning them Super Bowls? Yeah.

Speaker 27 Yeah.

Speaker 1 I mean, you can't get all the credit when things go well and then don't want any of the blame when they don't.

Speaker 1 Because guess what? What you just said. Now, you said the quarterback, the coach don't fumble the ball and he don't do this and that.
But when they win, he don't throw no touchdowns either.

Speaker 1 He don't get no sacks. He don't get no strip sacks, no scooping scores.

Speaker 1 But he gets credit.

Speaker 23 It's funny how that works, huh?

Speaker 1 It absolutely is. But

Speaker 1 I definitely did not see.

Speaker 1 I didn't see Buffalo struggling early.

Speaker 1 Especially after the way they came back in that game, that first game against

Speaker 1 the Ravens.

Speaker 1 I was like, okay.

Speaker 1 And And you looking at the schedule, like, okay.

Speaker 23 And it's really not surprising that they did. I know Lamar played,

Speaker 23 but seeing how the Ravens have looked since that game, it's not surprising that they did come back and win that.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 23 It was only a matter of time before the scab on that came off and everything was exposed defensively.

Speaker 23 Now, having Lamar out, it just shows how valuable he is and how it's like he's taking a team that just is god-awful, which which they're not they're just playing bad right now you know the defense is bad

Speaker 1 even though now their defense had their best game on sunday yeah

Speaker 1 because the rams are really good offensively you got puka they got devonta they got higby at tight end kyron williams can run the football we know matthew stafford can throw it with the best quarterbacks in the nfl

Speaker 1 and that defense is really really good the uh the rams got a really good defense i thought the ravens played their best game defensively they got no help offensively, especially from the quarterback position.

Speaker 1 Cooper Rush was awful.

Speaker 1 He was, I mean, I'm not breaking news to anybody, and everybody knows that. He's been awful.

Speaker 1 Everybody thinks they have a great backup until the backup actually has to play.

Speaker 23 Hey, there's a reason the backup is the backup, huh?

Speaker 1 Yeah, you come in off the bench, oh, yo, the starter goes down somewhere in the game, and you come in like, oh, yeah, we got us a backup.

Speaker 1 But what happens when he has to play for an extended period of time? Which Cooper Rush has had to do?

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 23 It'd be nice to have one that can keep your team head above water.

Speaker 1 That's all you need.

Speaker 23 That's it. But it's hard, though.

Speaker 1 It's hard, Ocho, for the simple fact is, is that you can't.

Speaker 1 You know, you used to have a guy that was, you know, eight, nine, 10 years in the league. You could pay him a decent salary.
Now,

Speaker 1 you got to like hope the guy can develop

Speaker 1 on your bench. Or you get a guy that

Speaker 1 was a career backup, a career journeyman, or something like that.

Speaker 1 It's hard. Like, think about it.
Steve Young was on the 49ers. He just sat for years and years and years and years.

Speaker 1 Ain't nobody doing that no more, Ojo.

Speaker 23 He sat for like, he sat for four, right? Four or four.

Speaker 1 No, hell no. He got there in like 87.
He sat 88, 89, 90, 91.

Speaker 1 Joe got hurt in 92.

Speaker 23 Okay.

Speaker 1 And he won the MVP. They traded Joe in 93

Speaker 1 dang so he signed for about six years

Speaker 23 joe went to kansas city huh he did yeah

Speaker 1 he did

Speaker 7 what a batchup we got y'all this is that classic hbcu vibe non-stop action the band is rocking and the crowd lick chants echo drumbeat everybody showing that school pride Game like this, yeah, it calls for an ice-cold Coca-Cola.

Speaker 9 Ah, crisp and refreshing.

Speaker 10 That's a game changer right there.

Speaker 1 Mmm, yeah.

Speaker 4 That taste always hits the right note, just like the band at halftime.

Speaker 11 And just like that, we're back at it.

Speaker 12 Passionate fans, smooth colors everywhere, and an ice-cold Coca-Cola?

Speaker 9 That's a winning combo.

Speaker 2 No matter the sport, no matter the yard, everybody knows.

Speaker 9 Fan work is thirsty work.

Speaker 3 So grab a Coca-Cola and keep that HBCU pride going.

Speaker 23 Oh, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 Oh, Joe, the NFL suspended Brian Branch for one game for hitting

Speaker 1 Juju Smith's shoes. Excuse me.
Branch stand to forfeit $76,624 for his one-game suspension. Branch is appealing the suspension.
NFL Vice President of Football Operation John Runyon.

Speaker 1 Boy, boy,

Speaker 1 boy, this ain't something.

Speaker 1 Your aggressive, non-football acts was entirely unwarranted.

Speaker 1 poised to a serious risk of injury and clearly violated the standard of conduct and sportsmanship expected of nfl players your conduct repl reflected poorly on the nfl and has no place in our game

Speaker 1 branch i did a little childish thing

Speaker 1 but i'm tired of people do a little childish thing okay but i'm tired of people doing stuff between the plays and the ref don't catch it they be trying to bully me out there and I don't, I shouldn't have to have did what I did.

Speaker 1 It was childish.

Speaker 1 Come on. Come on, bro.

Speaker 1 You know how this, you've played football too long. Ocho, we know how to get somebody back if they doing stuff to us to make it look like a play.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 So you doing this after that wasn't, no, no, no, that was reckless, bro. And I understand we're human.
There's a human element of it. But what you should have done is just walked onto the locker room.

Speaker 1 You already know you boiling.

Speaker 1 You know that, Ocho. Just go

Speaker 1 head to the locker room. Because

Speaker 1 you did all that talking. Now, think about how when they winning, let me ask you a question.
Had they won, do you think he would have done that? If the same thing, if the same course of action,

Speaker 1 he said Juju hit him in his back and he was right there in front of the referee and the ref didn't do anything.

Speaker 23 Had they won this game, Ocho, do you believe Brian branch would have acted in the manner in which he acted no i i i don't i don't think so but i think you know what you know what what else happened he was antagonizing not only all game the toss crack he came down he caught brian branch brian branch obviously no you got to know that somebody got to call that out too yes somebody got to call it they didn't they didn't call it out he he got brian real good on hit him right inside of the ear hole yes after the game god damn juju must have been antagonizing during the game he had the nerve to come up and try to shake his hand no

Speaker 23 he was playing games in the game. Man, stop.

Speaker 1 Hey, bro, how you doing? Hey, hey, but hey, no, hey, oh, Joe, no hard feelings. Whatever happened in the game, it happened in the game.
We leave it in the game, oh cho. Right.
Hold on, what's that?

Speaker 1 What's that? If it's in the game, it's in the game.

Speaker 23 Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 Okay.

Speaker 1 If it's in the game, it's in the game. We left it in the game.
Oh, Joe.

Speaker 23 That might be personal, huh? That might be personal.

Speaker 1 Think about what's they should have been stealing on us. I should have been getting steal on after every game because all I did was talk.

Speaker 23 Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 Come on, think about it. All you did was talk.

Speaker 23 Yeah, but see, you see, your talk, man, you know, our stuff, well, my stuff, my stuff wasn't malicious. My stuff was fun.

Speaker 23 Yours,

Speaker 1 I don't know if yours was just. It all depends how we, how you wanted what you wanted to talk about.
Right. Because we could take it there.

Speaker 1 Oh,

Speaker 1 we could take it there. Hey, but listen, if you want to make it personal, we'll make it personal.

Speaker 1 If you want to keep it about athletic ability, you're not very good, we can take it there. But if you want to take it to another place, we can go there too.

Speaker 1 Hey, I'm going to make sure whatever you give me, I'm going to give it back to you, plus shipping and handling, because I need to make sure you get it.

Speaker 23 Yeah. Oh, man.

Speaker 1 And like I said, anybody, with the exception of B. Cox, anybody that did something dirty to me in the game, I got their ass back.
I made it look just like a plate.

Speaker 1 From Periphy, hey, do I cut a dude in the Chargers? Put him out for the rest of the year.

Speaker 1 I'm going to get you back. Man, you in my knee.
Hey, I got a family to feed. You didn't think about that.
My family.

Speaker 1 You don't give a damn about my family. I give less than a damn about yours.

Speaker 23 I can't play with him knees, though.

Speaker 1 I can. I can play with...

Speaker 1 He played with my knees.

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 1 It's a game. Hey, don't you want to play this game, Ocho?

Speaker 23 Yeah, I understand, but you know, once that knee go out, most of the time, you're never the same. Unless you're Adrian Peterson, you ain't never the same.

Speaker 1 He didn't think about that when he hit me in my knee.

Speaker 23 Yeah, I got you. I got you.

Speaker 1 So

Speaker 1 you want me to think about his needs when he gave less than a damn about mine?

Speaker 23 Hey, just a thought of it.

Speaker 1 So, what about my grandma? What about my sister? What about my kids?

Speaker 1 Hey, no, I'm going to get you back.

Speaker 1 I'm going to get you back. I'm not going to hurt my team.
I'm not going to get a penalty to hurt my team, but I will get you. Oh, guess what? You got a team, mate.
I get him. Right.

Speaker 1 Y'all know how it is in the family.

Speaker 1 You in the family, in the streets.

Speaker 1 If I can't get you, I get somebody close to you.

Speaker 23 Okay, okay, huh? Okay. You sound like you said

Speaker 23 you sound like one of the YNs now, okay?

Speaker 1 Nah, hey.

Speaker 1 How we do, all I needed to know at the game, how we doing this? Snap the whistle? or snap to after the whistle? Because I can do it either way. It don't make me no nevermind.
Right.

Speaker 1 So, ah,

Speaker 1 you're not finna do that. You're not finna cheap shot me.
In fact, I ain't gonna finna get you back.

Speaker 23 But I think we played the Falcons one time,

Speaker 23 man, and they caught me with that cheap shot. I think whoever the defensive coordinator was that time in 2007,

Speaker 23 they told him to do that. They told whoever the safety was at that time,

Speaker 23 I can't remember the safety's name. I mean, the play was clearly over.
And the head, the coach, whoever the deep coordinator, maybe the head coach, I need y'all to get Chad.

Speaker 23 I need y'all to get Chad off his game just hit him after the play i'm talking on i'm clean walking back to the huddle dude came full speed full speed clean my clock and the rep rep came and grabbed me and i'm talking so that's how y'all want to play

Speaker 23 and that's how we're gonna play well obviously yes i i wasn't a uh a physically imposing type player but unc man i lit their ass up after that oh i lit it that's hey that's that's that's that's um that's that's the game i did the the little saucer celebrate oh

Speaker 1 man i had oh yeah i had midday

Speaker 1 oh we uh we had a what you call them the uh

Speaker 1 we as a matter of fact we playing the bingles

Speaker 23 all right don't do that don't do that no it wasn't it wasn't us

Speaker 1 it wasn't us i took out the whole defensive line i did a text block

Speaker 23 how you how you took out everybody they they tripped up they had to

Speaker 1 leg whip everything

Speaker 1 I got the guy that was I got the guy that was inside of me. I cross cross body him, and then I leg whipped the guy that tried to jump, got him.

Speaker 23 Wait, they ain't called a leg whip?

Speaker 1 No, didn't.

Speaker 23 Yeah, they must not have been used to seeing it back then.

Speaker 1 Don't worry. Hey, I'm going to get you back, OJO.
I got to. It's a must.

Speaker 1 I'll forget my. Damn, man, my bad.
I thought I was blocking.

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 1 John done zoomed one by my ear. I'm just going to get, I'm going to get the corner.

Speaker 1 Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1 Ash, look at 97 and see who the starting cornerback was for outside of

Speaker 1 Dale Carter. And I forget the other guy.
But me and me and him was.

Speaker 23 At New Orleans, New Orleans again.

Speaker 1 No, he was at Kansas City. 97 starter.
And he wore four. Boy, we used to battle.

Speaker 23 Warfield, right?

Speaker 1 Nah,

Speaker 1 he was there. I think that was like 2000 or though.
That was the 2000.

Speaker 23 Okay, I'm tripping. My bad.

Speaker 1 They had done got soft then. But, you know, dealing with DC and the other dude, what's his, I can't think of his name.

Speaker 1 Oh, man.

Speaker 1 Oh, we used to, oh, we used to battle, Ocho.

Speaker 1 Oh, when I say we battle,

Speaker 1 I mean, sometimes, hey, they would just put me outside and say, we don't want you to just run him over.

Speaker 1 Just fight him. Okay.

Speaker 1 Hey, hey, just give me, just give me a couple of passes.

Speaker 1 Let me keep my streak alive.

Speaker 1 Catch, one catch a game.

Speaker 1 I'm good.

Speaker 1 How do you want to do it?

Speaker 24 Hey.

Speaker 1 Who was the

Speaker 1 left corner? Who's the right corner?

Speaker 1 James Hasty.

Speaker 23 Oh, I remember James Hasty, boy.

Speaker 1 James Hasty. Hey, Jane, we asked him.
Hey, chat, ask, hey, me and Hasty used to battle.

Speaker 1 Yeah, because he tried to poke the receivers. I'm not it.

Speaker 1 Not me.

Speaker 23 Hey, James.

Speaker 1 S-H-A-R-P-E.

Speaker 1 I don't play them games.

Speaker 23 Hey, so you was there with Dave. Remember, I caught Dale Carter

Speaker 23 with the Ravens with Prime.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 1 I played a year with DC in Denver. I mean, yeah, he came to us.
DC came, what year was DC? Like 90,

Speaker 1 like mid-90s, like 95, 96.

Speaker 1 And then he played with me, but you know, me, him and Hasty, you know, as a homeboy. You see, this ain't just a,

Speaker 1 let's make sure we stay homeboy. This ain't got nothing to do with you.
It got to do with him.

Speaker 23 Right.

Speaker 1 Me and me and what you call him, fell, me and D, a DT fell out by that. Rest his soul.
Derek Thomas? I was getting into it with Wayne Simmons.

Speaker 1 I made sure I never cut DT, never, never tried to crack back on him or anything.

Speaker 1 Me and Wayne Simmons getting into it.

Speaker 1 He came and said, I'm like, whoa, whoa, I say, I say, DT,

Speaker 1 this ain't got nothing to do with you. Leave that alone.
Well, it got something to do with me now.

Speaker 23 Uh-oh.

Speaker 1 I said, let's not.

Speaker 1 Hey, oh, Joe, I say,

Speaker 1 I say, bro, bro,

Speaker 1 this ain't your fight.

Speaker 23 Right, right.

Speaker 1 Let his

Speaker 1 Wayne Simmons rest his soul. He tragically lost his life in an

Speaker 1 automobile accident. Yeah.

Speaker 1 But, bro,

Speaker 1 once I go in, it's a rap. It's on.

Speaker 1 Pittsburgh Earl, Earl,

Speaker 1 what was the dude's name? Earl Holmes.

Speaker 1 Earl Holmes.

Speaker 1 Oh, he smoked. He got me, too.
He got me, though. He got me.
Oh, man, that joker got me.

Speaker 1 If you go back and look at it, I was mic'd up, and we scored a touchdown. And I went to him.
I said, we're going to take advantage of you. You, the weak link.
Right. You, that's you.

Speaker 1 Earl was a mic back, right? Earl was a mic back back then. Yeah, he was a

Speaker 1 he was he was a plug. Right.
Because you know, back then, they ran the 3-4. Oh, that's right.
So he, yeah, they had the mic, the plug, the Sam, and the wheel. Oh, yeah, he got me.

Speaker 1 But

Speaker 1 he said this, this was a child, bro.

Speaker 1 No, a child is just somebody walking off and you kick the back of their foot and they trip. This ain't no childish, that's grown man behavior, bro.
You, oh Joe, you know why they got it?

Speaker 1 Yeah, because the whole world is watching that game.

Speaker 23 Oh, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 1 And they tried to go to commercial and they get this. No, though, we can't go to commercial.
We can't go to commercial now. Everybody see that.

Speaker 23 Yeah. And you saw that picture in Juju.
It looked like what?

Speaker 1 I got it. Oh, Joe.
That's a meme.

Speaker 1 Oh, man. Come on now.

Speaker 23 Hey, hey,

Speaker 23 ain't nothing wrong with a little scuffle. Every blue moon.
Every blue moon. Keep it.
Keep it exciting.

Speaker 1 Keep it exciting. Every blue moon.

Speaker 1 Bro, you think you're boy, you think you're fitting to shove me in my face? And I'm just going to just let that walk. We the boat.
The only thing I hate, Juju. Congratulations, Juju.

Speaker 1 You able to do it.

Speaker 1 Hey, everybody, keep your hands to yourself.

Speaker 1 That's the number one rule. Keep your hands to yourself.
You ain't got no kids this age.

Speaker 1 So don't put your hands on me. Boy,

Speaker 1 a whole new football game would have been played on that field.

Speaker 1 I don't know if that field, that turf got tore up, but it got tore up

Speaker 1 after that.

Speaker 1 And Juju, Juju came, like, he was like, he ain't come, he ain't come in no to foot. Because come on, man.
But Checko got the dude, and the dude grabbed your face mask and still throw you back.

Speaker 1 Hell no.

Speaker 1 Hey.

Speaker 23 Good ain't ain't nothing like a good old squabble.

Speaker 1 It's about talking about leave podcast, stated podcast to leave football to real men. I guess you didn't know what I did before I started podcasting.

Speaker 1 I don't know if he's gonna win this appeal. I mean, oh, that's a lot of money, Ocho.
That's 70, that's a game check they're taking away from him. Wait, how much is that? I don't know what you find

Speaker 1 $76,000.

Speaker 1 $76,624. A game check.

Speaker 1 I know he's going to get a game for that. Oh, Joe, the whole world saw that.

Speaker 23 Yeah.

Speaker 1 It's the same thing with

Speaker 1 Carter. Jalen Carter.

Speaker 1 Had it happened in the game,

Speaker 1 he'd have got suspended. But because he got ejected, and when you get ejected, X, Y, and Z, that's why they didn't suspend him.
Oh, I already knew he was getting a game. He was going to get that game.

Speaker 1 And the whole world saw that. They watching.

Speaker 23 They might be a little bit more.

Speaker 1 NFL ain't going to let you. Ain't going to let you.
Ain't going to let you.

Speaker 1 They don't do everything they can to protect that shield, Ocho. You know that.
Oh, wait. But they might.
If they find you for your socks, roll down.

Speaker 1 Oh, Joe, how many times do you think I got fired for socks rolled down? Now they let the guys cut the jersey. We tried to cut our jersey.
That was five, ten thousand dollars.

Speaker 1 Y'all owe me about $150,000 back.

Speaker 23 Hey, but listen, I cut mine and had it sold. It had it sold so it stopped right at the waistline.
Yes, got in trouble for that. Got in trouble for my socks being too low.

Speaker 23 Got in trouble for wearing gold cleats. I used to cut the towel in the bathroom.

Speaker 23 It made the little streamer hanging out, hanging out.

Speaker 1 No, you can't hang it like note. It's got to be NFL issue.

Speaker 23 And listen,

Speaker 23 I take the fine. The black chin strap, the orange chin strap, man,

Speaker 1 they don't let you have them now because I used to have a blue.

Speaker 1 I got a white one, but I used to have a blue one.

Speaker 23 yeah

Speaker 1 that's about uh

Speaker 23 this is my last helmet

Speaker 1 I acted I acted right when I got to Baltimore I didn't do all that right but nah you uh

Speaker 1 Guys,

Speaker 1 this is how it normally works. In an NFL game, if you cheap shot somebody, they go to hell and beyond to get you back.

Speaker 1 But in the process of that, they make it look now. Sometimes they just don't give a damn.
They're just like,

Speaker 1 I'm going to take the 15-yard penalty.

Speaker 1 I wasn't willing to put my team in harm's way by taking a 15-yard penalty. So now I got to get your ass back, but I got to make it look like I'm blocking you.

Speaker 1 But I'm going to get you back.

Speaker 23 That's me.

Speaker 1 When you do, when you take it here, after there's no play going on, Ocho, everybody's decompressed. Hey, boy, how you doing, man? Good to see you, man.

Speaker 1 Hey, good game, man. Hey, Ocho, man, you balled it.
Hey, man, congratulations. Tough victory.
Hey, we'll see y'all down the road. We'll see y'all again.
So forth, and so on.

Speaker 1 So ain't nobody thinking about that. Right.

Speaker 1 Once the game's over, I'm done. Now, if I'm ticked off about something, I'm going straight to the locker room.
I'm not mingling around

Speaker 1 because I already know.

Speaker 1 See, me, Ocho,

Speaker 1 I'm a terrible loser. I'm a worse winner.
So

Speaker 1 you've been talking? Oh, you've been talking, talking? And we win?

Speaker 1 Oh, I got to stay hold out there, Ocho. I got to stay out there.

Speaker 23 Yeah, and you know, in Brian Branch's defense, obviously the game was over. Juju went up to him.
So in a sense, he damn near provoked him.

Speaker 1 Oh, Joe, the man stuck his hand out. All you had to do was walk by.
So if somebody walked by to shake your hand and they mush you in the face, you provoked them, Ocho, because you stuck your hand out.

Speaker 1 You see how that looks, you see how that sounds. You stick your hand out to shake somebody's hand, they mush you in your face.

Speaker 23 Yeah, I know how the optics of it look, but I also know that goddamn those folks in that appeal office, whoever you got appealed to, they seen the goddamn game.

Speaker 1 Uh, uh, uh, Jack Trash and uh Brooks.

Speaker 1 So Merton Hanks don't do it no more, uh-uh, yeah, Merton, uh, Runyon took uh, uh, uh, uh, John Runyon took Merton's,

Speaker 1 yeah, goddamn Ace, But Thrash, so

Speaker 1 you appeal either to James

Speaker 1 Thrash or Brooks, Derek D. D.
B. Brooksy.

Speaker 1 And then it goes to... So Runyon hands it out, and then you appeal it to Thrash and Brooks.
Okay.

Speaker 1 But just, bro, he got you. So let me ask you a question, Ocho.
You think that's the first time that Brian Branch has ever been hitting a clipped in the back?

Speaker 23 Oh,

Speaker 23 probably not. A toss crack? No, no, absolutely not.

Speaker 1 But I think if you play safety, of course.

Speaker 23 Yeah, but Juju is one who's known to get under people's skin. He's done it before.

Speaker 1 Yes.

Speaker 1 And

Speaker 23 he got him good.

Speaker 23 To get Brian Branch to break characters like that

Speaker 23 in a game, not only during the game, but after the game as well. Like, you know, it had to be something serious.

Speaker 1 Well, he could have played. He couldn't play in the 90s and 2000s.
Because what was he going to do with Heinz Ward? Oh, man.

Speaker 1 That's like, what was he going to do with hines ward now that's a different ball game

Speaker 1 so he he upset about juju yeah he they changed the rule because of hines ward

Speaker 1 yeah remember what juju did to burfick remember you got burfick yes i remember i remember what hines did to keith rivers it broke his jaw yeah yes yeah

Speaker 1 they outlawed the blind side block because of him.

Speaker 1 Sap was the one that they put the defense, can't crack back up, because when Sap got Chad Clifton,

Speaker 1 and I think what he just dislocated his hip.

Speaker 23 That sounds familiar. Chad Clifton.

Speaker 1 He was an offensive lineman. Okay.
Tampa got a pick. He was chasing, and Sap peeled back.

Speaker 1 I think he dislocated his hip. That's why him and the head coach was going into it.
And Sap told him, You so tough, put a helmet on.

Speaker 1 You so tough, put a helmet on.

Speaker 23 I remember that game. I remember that game.

Speaker 1 Yeah.

Speaker 23 Remember that game.

Speaker 1 Bad is

Speaker 1 if it's football. God, Ocho.
You know,

Speaker 1 you're going to get clipped. You're going to get hit.
Things as football.

Speaker 23 Something's going to happen.

Speaker 1 For me, once the game is over, if I didn't get your ass back in that game,

Speaker 1 hopefully it's a division opponent because I see your ass again, either at your place or ours.

Speaker 23 And I'm going to remember too. I'm not going to.

Speaker 1 I'm like an elephant. I won't forget it.
Yeah.

Speaker 23 Hey,

Speaker 23 the best best memory of all

Speaker 1 is get back. But I look, I think the thing is that just take ownership.

Speaker 1 You see how Dan Campbell was. Dan Campbell said, I love him.
He said that that ain't who we are. Right.

Speaker 1 Take,

Speaker 1 but hey, just take ownership of it. Say, hey, was my bad.

Speaker 1 I let my emotions get the best of me.

Speaker 1 You want to appeal it? I ain't got no problem. Yes, appeal it.
Right. But to say this was a little childish thing.

Speaker 23 Look, look, little Sam, little Sam.

Speaker 1 Little scrum.

Speaker 1 Little scrum. Nah, nah, nah.
Hey. Ocho,

Speaker 1 after Tua dimed out his teammates during the last night press conference, Mike McDaniel said today he believes Tua could have handled things differently. Yeah, by not throwing three interceptions.

Speaker 1 Let's take a listen to what the head coach had to say.

Speaker 31 After a loss as the franchise quarterback, that's not the forum to displace that. I think he knows that now.

Speaker 31 I do honestly believe it was not,

Speaker 31 there's no ill-intention, but you're talking about,

Speaker 31 you know, I think kind of a misguided representation of

Speaker 31 player-orchestrated film sessions.

Speaker 31 And

Speaker 31 the bottom line is no one's going to be happy

Speaker 31 and always is looking for reasons

Speaker 31 for failure to succeed. So you're trying to look for reasons that

Speaker 31 you can attribute to losses. And there's a, you know, heavy as the crown of being a franchise quarterback, I think,

Speaker 31 you know, what I do know is that he's directly communicated with

Speaker 31 a lot of guys

Speaker 31 starting with last night. And that's what

Speaker 31 teammates do. And

Speaker 1 you live and you learn. And

Speaker 23 what's wrong with Mike, huh?

Speaker 1 He beat, bro. He knows it's over, Ocho.
He knows it's over.

Speaker 23 I know.

Speaker 23 It just doesn't seem right. You know, not only that, but the way you're...

Speaker 1 You losing, and you know, after the end of the year, it might become before the end of the year. You see, we're going to talk about the Tennessee situation.

Speaker 1 How Callahan, after a year and a half, he got dismissed, which is seemingly

Speaker 1 not shocking. Because if you go look at most of the last number one overall draft picks, say in the last 10 years, only two coaches have remained the entire season.

Speaker 1 And they were fired, and one of them was fired after the season. So with that being said,

Speaker 1 Tua,

Speaker 1 if film study, if this is something that you guys instituted,

Speaker 1 you being a captain, you're responsible for making sure everybody everybody shows up and how important it is to be on time. That's not Mac McDaniel's job.

Speaker 1 Now, if they show up late to his meeting, they ain't got nothing to do with it. Yeah, you try to say, hey, come on, guys, let's be professional.
Let's be pros. Profession is our occupation.

Speaker 1 We're professional football players. A pro is how we go about our business.
We show up on time. That.
Now, if you had

Speaker 1 team

Speaker 1 individual, let's say wide receiver, you got film study, or we got film study as an offense.

Speaker 1 As the captain, it's my job to make sure and

Speaker 1 explain it clearly, concise. It starts at this time.

Speaker 1 Guys, this kind of what got us in this situation. We started letting things slip.

Speaker 1 We started letting one minute turn to two minutes, turn to three minutes, turn to five minutes, and guys started walking in self eight, nine, ten minutes after.

Speaker 1 You see, guys start coming, you know, running on the field with the pads on thing.

Speaker 1 No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no that wasn't happening that can't happen and so you have to make them have to hope they understand the importance but it's hard because

Speaker 1 i don't think people look at tour as a leader

Speaker 23 that's his problem hey uh you know what i and i i have to have to say something if they didn't see two as a quarterback number one if they didn't see two as a leader

Speaker 23 then they wouldn't have paid him what they paid him, huh?

Speaker 1 No,

Speaker 1 tell me what choice they they have.

Speaker 1 Now,

Speaker 1 Brian Flores wanted Justin Herbert. The owner

Speaker 1 wanted Tua.

Speaker 1 So guess who won?

Speaker 1 Could you imagine? Brian Flores didn't play that. Brian Flores came from Bill Belichick.
You know damn well, you're not walking into team meetings. You're not walking to individual meetings.

Speaker 1 You're not walking in the meeting late. You're not walking into practice late.
You're going to be at the plane on time. But they didn't like that.
That was too difficult. So, now this is what you got.

Speaker 1 Yeah, former Dolphins wide receiver, Deshaun Hamilton, says Tua himself showed up late for the first team meeting, and nobody seemed to care.

Speaker 1 Doesn't seem like his fellow players respect him or see Tua as the leader of the team. Oh,

Speaker 1 who said from the outside? Look it in.

Speaker 1 He played with Tua.

Speaker 23 Who said that? What's his name?

Speaker 1 A former teammate, Deshaun Hamilton.

Speaker 23 Damn, man.

Speaker 23 That's not good when they come out talking, talking, talking about you.

Speaker 1 All I know as a former NFL player with 14 seasons under my belt and being a leader, I know what leadership looks like. And I know when people respect you as such.
Right.

Speaker 1 They don't. No, they don't.
Now, they're going to come out. Listen, they're going to come out and say all the things.
They're going to say, you know, everything is cool, but they don't.

Speaker 1 I've been there. I've said things about a locker room and everybody attacked me.
And then after the season, it started leaking out. Yeah, blah, blah, blah, and blah, blah, blah, and blah, blah, blah.

Speaker 1 Hey, I'm going to take it on the channel. Oh, hey.

Speaker 1 They don't.

Speaker 1 They don't.

Speaker 1 I promise you, it wasn't very often when things weren't going well. Hey, guys,

Speaker 1 let's have a quick meeting.

Speaker 1 Ideas, wide receivers, let's meet right quick. Hey, let's get together as an offensive group.

Speaker 23 No call outs?

Speaker 1 No, we don't have to call nobody out. But everybody, hey, we got, a

Speaker 1 we got a quick meeting, such and such. Hey, after that, everybody walk out the field.
Hey, hold on for just a second, right?

Speaker 1 But that was a respect level that they have to have for you. But you can't ask more than you're willing to give.

Speaker 1 See, you can't ask somebody to be on time and then you show up late. You can't ask somebody to give their all and you don't.

Speaker 1 You can't ask somebody to take a needle to the butt, to the knee, to the back, to whatever, to the shoulders, to the ribs, when you won't. Right.

Speaker 1 You never ask more than you're willing to give give yourself. Don't ask somebody to come in in shape and your fat ass out of shape.

Speaker 1 That's how I operate.

Speaker 1 It's really simple. Guys know, man, look, I already know Sharp is going to be on time.
I already know Sharp getting his rest. I already know Sharp studied his stuff.
That's how you got the lead. See,

Speaker 1 everything Tua said could have been true.

Speaker 1 But you can't say that after you turn the ball over three times because it make it seem like you didn't take your ass to the meeting because you were throwing the ball right to him.

Speaker 1 You see how to see it timing has a lot to do with when and what you say, Ocho. Right.
You can't now have two of goals out there, Ocho. He throws for 400, got four touchdowns.
Oh, he's good.

Speaker 1 He Gucci.

Speaker 1 But you go out there and you throw three picks. So I want to know, but them guys coming in late the meeting, them guys not coming to meeting, how did that

Speaker 1 cause you to throw those three interceptions?

Speaker 1 I just don't believe it. I could be totally wrong.
I doubt it. I don't believe the bulk of those guys look at him as the true leader of that team.

Speaker 1 Let me ask you a question. If Patrick Mahomes called a team meeting and says, okay, guys, I want to receive, blah, blah, blah.
You think they're coming in late?

Speaker 23 No.

Speaker 1 If Lamar Jackson calls that, if Josh Allen, because you said he's a franchise quarterback, franchise quarterbacks call things, people show up. Right.

Speaker 1 It didn't do him any good. What was his quote about whether he lose, he goes home to his kids and they're happy to see him? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 23 No matter what.

Speaker 1 Even though that might be true, you can't say that. Right.

Speaker 23 Hey, that's tough. That's tough, especially the part about your players, your players that in the the locker room that are supposed to view you.
Listen, they voted you captain.

Speaker 23 If everybody voted you captain, it was you. I'm assuming it was you.

Speaker 1 But stop it. You know good and damn well how that that

Speaker 1 rig voted system.

Speaker 23 I don't know.

Speaker 23 I don't know. I don't know.
I just never seen, never seen a team or, or I think more stuff is going to come out.

Speaker 23 More stuff is going to unravel

Speaker 23 as things get worse. You know, I mean, they can only go up from here.

Speaker 1 Ocho, I'm not on social media. I go home, see my kids, whether I throw five picks or five touchdowns, we win the game, we lose the game.

Speaker 1 I get to come home to my kids who are happy to see me every time.

Speaker 1 Boy, you think I want to hear that?

Speaker 23 No, no.

Speaker 1 I'm happy you get to go home. I'm happy you get to go home.
I'm happy. I am happy that it does.
I'm sad. I'm disappointed that it don't bother you.
Because guess what? It bothers me.

Speaker 1 Because I knew what I put in. So that tells me you're not putting enough in.
Because when you put something in, Ocho, chat, you know this.

Speaker 1 When you put something in, when you work really, really hard for something and it doesn't go well, it bothers you. Yeah.
And for it not to bother him.

Speaker 23 Yep, that's that's that.

Speaker 1 That's the hell to the now. Now, see, I'm going to have a problem with him, Ocho.

Speaker 1 I'm going to have a problem because it's got to matter to you. Yeah.
It's got to matter. And it don't matter enough to it.

Speaker 23 Well, listen, listen,

Speaker 23 everything matters to different people in different ways. Some

Speaker 23 handle it and show it in different ways, huh?

Speaker 23 No, somebody might

Speaker 23 show his a little different than you show yours. You might be a little bit more voiceless, a little boisterous.

Speaker 1 Name a great player. I'll tell you what.
Go interview any great player. Right.

Speaker 1 In anything in business. They work really, really hard to close this deal.
And it didn't close.

Speaker 1 Ask any

Speaker 1 great. I'm talking about, I mean, I would like to think he's trying to be great.
They're paying him to be great. Absolutely.
Name the great player

Speaker 1 that have failed at something.

Speaker 1 And they were, well, I got to go home to my kids.

Speaker 23 I don't like the way he said it like that.

Speaker 1 I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 It's funny how I hear people, and I hear these people that's worth billions and billions of dollars and they built these companies. They say, guys, you expect to work 36 to 40 hours a week.

Speaker 1 You expect to have this X, Y, and Z

Speaker 1 and be great and have this enormous wealth and have work-life balance.

Speaker 1 If you don't work, if you want work-life balance, that's fine.

Speaker 1 That's fine.

Speaker 1 But I just

Speaker 1 just go talk to the great. Ask Michael Jordan how he felt when he lost.

Speaker 1 Ask Kobe, ask Braun, ask John Elway, ask Peyton, ask Tom Brady, ask Ray, ask any of the greats, because I think that's what he aspires to be.

Speaker 23 Yeah, absolutely. I mean, that's what you play the game for.

Speaker 1 But, Ocho, let's just say for the sake of argument, that's the case.

Speaker 1 Don't say that.

Speaker 1 Everything, see, everything is not meant to be said.

Speaker 1 You might feel a certain way about a certain thing.

Speaker 1 Just keep it to yourself.

Speaker 1 because you know how a lot of guys not because a lot of guys it bothers them to lose

Speaker 1 because they put they put a lot into it that's not to say to it don't just keep that to yourself

Speaker 23 yeah

Speaker 23 hey that it's it's gonna be tough man i hope mike mcdaniels make it i don't know if he is if he's going to make it it's all going to be on to his shoulders

Speaker 23 You know, as Tua goes, the rest of that team goes, especially offensively.

Speaker 23 You let one one slip away from you last week. Hey, something going to have to turn around.

Speaker 1 I think the Ocho. Yeah.

Speaker 1 I don't think Mac McDaniel is going to be there next year. No.
The question is,

Speaker 1 the next coach,

Speaker 1 you got money tied up in him. How can

Speaker 1 does the next coach believe? Because here's the thing. They're probably going to say, what can you do with Tuva? Because you know that's what happens, Ocho.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 Everybody coming in there, I can do this. I can get this out of him.
I can make him blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Everybody is selling.

Speaker 23 They're going to sell a dream every time.

Speaker 1 You know what?

Speaker 23 They're going to sell a dream every time.

Speaker 22 Ford was built on the belief that the world doesn't get to decide what you're capable of. You do.
So ask yourself, can you or can't you?

Speaker 22 Can you load up a Ford F-150 and build your dream with sweat and steel? Can you chase thrills and conquer curves in a Mustang? Can you take a Bronco to where the map ends and adventure begins?

Speaker 22 Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right. Ready, set, forward.
