Speaker 12 Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and thank you for joining us for another episode of Nightcap as you watch the Baltimore Ravens run their record to 3-5 with a 28-6 victory over the Miami Guppies, who fall to 2-7.

Speaker 12 No one should be surprised by this, given how well Lamar Jackson has played against the Dolphins. Why would you pick against them with him in the starting lineup playing that team?

Speaker 12 But nevertheless, my partner did pick the Guppies, and he's wrong again. Y'all know who I am.
I'm your favorite unc, Shannon Sharp, and he is my partner and co-host.

Speaker 12 He's Liberty City's own bingles ring of fame honoree, Madden Radius Adjuster, a former Pro Bowler and an all-pro. He's also his hometown team,

Speaker 12 the Guppies. That is Chad Ocho Cinco Johnson.

Try it for yourself.

Speaker 12 Compare it against other premium VSOP cognacs and let me know what you think please drink responsibly and stay safe make sure you go check out my media company on all of its platforms shay shea media and my clothing company 84 with 84 being spelled out that link is pinned in the chat we have kamani vidal joining us and ice were bezo joining us a little later today a little to later tonight excuse me but the game that you just watched lamar jackson threw for four touchdowns three went to tight ends uh mark andrews caught two um kohla caught another one, and then he found, scrambled, and found Rashad Bateman on another touchdown.

Speaker 12 Derrick Henry, 19 rushes, 119 yards, back to being the Derrick Henry that we all know and love.

Speaker 12 But I thought Lamar Jackson, in four weeks, five weeks of his absence, he came back and threw the ball really, really well tonight. 18 of 23, 204 yards, four touchdowns, no interceptions.

Speaker 12 He was sacked two times, but the Ravens didn't turn the ball over, and they forced the Dolphins to turn it over.

Speaker 12 And when you have a situation like that, a team like Baltimore, you cannot turn the ball over against them and give them short fields because bad things are going to happen with that quarterback and that running back.

Speaker 12 And I thought overall as a team, Ocho, I thought they played really well, but I thought Lamar Jackson was really crisp in his return.

Speaker 13 The fact that he was able to miss as many games as he did, to come back and look like he never missed a beat. He was efficient in the pocket, extending plays, you know, hitting tight ends.

Speaker 13 The play calling was really well, was really good. I was curious to see when he had to scramble, when he had to move and make and make sudden movements and be twitchy,

Speaker 13 would it affect him? Would he still be?

Speaker 12 He was trying to do that,

Speaker 12 he wasn't trying to do no twitching because there are some times he could have scrambled up the middle.

Speaker 13 He's like, nah, he's a cheese or chillin, but you can tell he was comfortable. When he did have to take off and run, he was able to do so.
And so that lets me know his hamstring is good.

Speaker 13 They have what almost 10 days off where he can rest and get himself back fully healthy all the way to 100%.

Speaker 13 But you got to understand, the 85-90% uh Lamar Jackson is still very very very good quarterback still top three in the NFL right now um outside of that unknown I'm upset and and I have why are you upset I have to study I have to I have to stop doing this chat and this this this is for y'all I just want to apologize to all the Ravens fans that are that are in the chat I have to do something on I have to stop betting with my heart I have to I've been told I got to stop betting with my heart I have to you know start using my mind and understanding where teams are now I

Speaker 13 I was fooled by last week's performance by the Dolphins and thinking that momentum would carry on into this week, which

Speaker 13 why I was so high in regard to thinking that they would win this game with Lamar Jackson coming back, even though it was his first game, even though he's played well against the Dolphins, but he was.

Speaker 12 No, he's played great. No other quarterback has ever played this well against an opponent like he's played.

Speaker 13 But I'm saying, but he had missed games, so I thought he would have maybe a little rusty. Maybe the play caller wouldn't have been as

Speaker 13 efficient as he looked tonight. Maybe the running game might not have been good because we haven't seen Derrick Curry run the ball like this tonight

Speaker 13 as of today yet, you know, this season. So I thought, you know, the chances might have been in the Dolphins' favor.

Speaker 13 If they can perform, not turn the ball over, and Tua can be the tour he was when they played Atlanta Falcons last week. You know, in the words of a very good friend of mine,

Speaker 13 Sweet Jesus, my dog,

Speaker 13 Brother McKinney, I just,

Speaker 13 I don't know what else to do. And then from now on for the rest of the season, I will be betting with common sense and choosing teams that I like,

Speaker 13 that I like, and know we're going to win the game, no matter what.

Speaker 12 You don't know, but you know the guppies weren't going to win. You out there betting on Twitter, making us look back.

Speaker 13 Well, technically, it's my team, huh? And when your Ravens play, well, they're not your Ravens. You was only there for two weeks, but when you're Broncos.

Speaker 12 Oh, oh,

Speaker 13 listen when you're bronze

Speaker 13 hey when you're when your broncos play

Speaker 13 when your broncos play that's your team and you bet with them regards of who they're playing when my bangles play i bet with them regards who i'm playing when the dolphins you should be with new age stay with me stay with me a little bit right

Speaker 13 now okay when the dolphins play people need to understand i am from miami i was born in dade county i come from a beautiful place It's like the Caribbean. It's called Liberty City.

Speaker 13 I grew up in the 40s all my life. born in 1968 at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Speaker 11 That is where my love for the Dolphins come from because

Speaker 13 that's all I knew growing up as a child. So I still try to have that same legions towards

Speaker 12 unlearn it. Huh?

Speaker 13 Unlearn it.

Speaker 13 I know, Uncle, it's hard, though.

Speaker 13 It's hard.

Speaker 12 You see the little job?

Speaker 13 You played.

Speaker 12 I didn't pick that up from Dick Sporting Good. I didn't order that from NFLshop.com.

Speaker 12 I'm a Raven.

Speaker 12 you played there for two years two two years

Speaker 13 won five playoff games is that good it's all right i mean y'all won five hold on y'all won five playoff games because it's defense not the offense it don't matter hey y'all won five playoff games

Speaker 12 I tell you what,

Speaker 12 I didn't win the Super Bowl MVP, but I guarantee you, my ring got just as many diamonds as Ray Lewis's.

Speaker 12 I guarantee you.

Speaker 12 I got a ring too my my my my my jersey number 82 got a super bowl patch that says super bowl xxx uh normanumo 5v which means super bowl 35.

Speaker 13 so i don't know what you're talking about listen every listen the cars you was dealt that was for you the cars i was dealt i wasn't able to go to no super bowl i wouldn't i wasn't able to host no trophy i wasn't able to get no ring i did all i could to get there you know

Speaker 12 go ahead go ahead carry on.

Speaker 13 That's all I do.

Speaker 13 I could do to get there, you know. And in the words of my good brother on Instagram, Jay McKinney, on Sweet Jesus, I did, I did my job the best of my ability.
It's a team game.

Speaker 13 I think I held up my end of the bargain. You hear me?

Speaker 12 Yeah, I think I held up my end of the bargain.

Speaker 13 You putting that up there like that's the real thing.

Speaker 12 Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Speaker 12 Oh,

Speaker 12 oh,

Speaker 12 it could be whatever.

Speaker 13 I got it. You ain't the only one one got hold on.

Speaker 12 Why ain't mad at me?

Speaker 13 Let me tell you, you ain't the only one got trophies. I might not have been able to get a trophy on the field, but I'm getting them off the field.

Speaker 11 Huh?

Speaker 13 What you saying?

Speaker 13 What you trying to do? I mean, holo. What you trying to do?

Speaker 13 I mean, hey, hey, talk nice to me now.

Speaker 13 Talk nice to me. Hey, hey, hey, hey, I'm some of the mine, too, now.

Speaker 13 Some of it mine over there too, now.

Speaker 12 Hey, hey, chat. You got yours.

Speaker 13 Hey, chat, y'all see my trophies? You see my plaques? You see my plaques?

Speaker 13 Hey, chat, y'all see my plaques and my nightcap sign?

Speaker 12 Hey, with all these springs on your, they think I hijacked the 18-wheeler. With all these springs I got.
You see all these springs. They like I hijacked the Wheeler.

Speaker 12 Time out, time out, time out, time out. Come on, man.

Speaker 13 You got all the goddamn awards, man.

Speaker 12 Wow, wow,

Speaker 12 I only got two awards.

Speaker 12 How I got all these awards.

Speaker 12 How do you get awards? You win them.

Speaker 13 Yeah, but when you're gonna send me my stuff,

Speaker 12 you got your

Speaker 13 32 awards, and I got two.

Speaker 12 Well,

Speaker 12 go find the ones you had last year. The one you took off stage.
I don't know what happened to it.

Speaker 13 You know what I mean? Hey, man.

Speaker 13 What? Hey, can you hear me?

Speaker 13 Yeah.

Speaker 13 Man, sis took them, man. She ain't going to give me them back.

Speaker 12 Oh, wow, don't you want to?

Speaker 13 Send me some of them.

Speaker 12 We don't replace awards.

Speaker 12 Hey.

Speaker 13 Hey, let me tell you something. Let me tell you what I just bought.
You know what I got out there, right? You hear me? What you got?

Speaker 13 For Saturday show, when we have Saturday show, I got some floating shells that's going to go right under the plaques. I got like four.

Speaker 13 I got four floating shelves, right?

Speaker 13 And I got them staggered a little bit so I could put all my trophies on.

Speaker 13 Hey, so hey, you see that?

Speaker 13 I need that NAACP.

Speaker 13 I need two of them.

Speaker 13 You hear me?

Speaker 12 Goodness gracious, the capers. Where the cash at? What a stash at.

Speaker 11 Hey, uh.

Speaker 13 I would would like to decorate my game room so I can be professional.

Speaker 12 Hold on.

Speaker 13 What that got to do with me wanting to decorate? Because

Speaker 13 you have all the awards. I thought this was a team effort.

Speaker 13 This was done too.

Speaker 13 It was two people that did this.

Speaker 12 Well,

Speaker 12 she took all your awards by them back.

Speaker 13 Hold on. Hey, see, I need...
Where is that right there?

Speaker 12 You got two of these. Where they at?

Speaker 12 In the mail.

Speaker 13 I want to put them up today. I want to put them up tomorrow.

Speaker 12 They won't be here tomorrow.

Speaker 12 The good thing, I got good news and I got bad news.

Speaker 12 The good news is you got two of them coming. The bad news, I got four of them coming.

Speaker 12 Hey.

Speaker 12 Hey,

Speaker 13 I just, listen, I want to decorate my game room, so I need to.

Speaker 12 I will let, ocho.

Speaker 12 You got the awards. I can't help it that you let somebody take, you gifted them to someone.

Speaker 13 Listen, sometimes

Speaker 13 I was in a hurry.

Speaker 13 I had to go.

Speaker 12 Well, I don't know what you want me to tell you, Ojo. Man, look at all these springs.
Hey,

Speaker 12 look like this an 18-wheeler. Hey, if y'all see an 18-wheeler side the road with ain't got no springs on it,

Speaker 12 there to go right there.

Speaker 13 Hey,

Speaker 13 I want to thank God.

Speaker 13 For giving me the opportunity.

Speaker 13 After going through the battle.

Speaker 12 What about your gutter?

Speaker 12 What about your gutter?

Speaker 13 Hey, we look good the first quarter. I thought it was going to be a good game, honestly.
We moved.

Speaker 12 Yeah, it's a four-quarter game.

Speaker 13 I know it's a four-quarter game. I'm saying the fact that we moved the ball up and down the field, we got in the red zone maybe four, maybe five times.

Speaker 13 We were only able to get three points out of that. And I'm like, I just, I just don't know.

Speaker 13 We didn't have enough playmakers. We had both Washingtons.
We had Taj and Malik. No, turn the ball over and give the ball back to the Raiders.

Speaker 12 The way y'all was moving, it looked like y'all had George out there too. Washington, Washington, that is.

Speaker 13 Yeah, it was bad. And obviously, when you're playing a team, when you're playing a team like the Baltimore Ravens, you got to be as perfect as possible.

Speaker 13 You got to minimize the turnovers because all you're doing is hurting yourself.

Speaker 13 And I heard a great quote while I was watching the game where Mike McDaniel said: you know, you don't want to have to play the Ravens and have to play against yourself.

Speaker 13 You know, you have to play against yourself as well, making mistakes. And listen, the Ravens hop on everything.
They capitalize on it. And, you know,

Speaker 13 the end score to the game, a result of, you know, just shooting yourself in the foot by the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I don't know where it is.

Speaker 13 Damn, man.

Speaker 12 Put the back, but you fix it.

Speaker 12 Just put them back and not fix it. Damn.
Man, they're going to take me all back. Keep talking, though, Joe.

Speaker 13 Anyway, chat, I mean, like, and I'm sure we have a lot of Raven fans in the chat. You know,

Speaker 13 I meant

Speaker 13 no ill will. No harm.
He meant ill will.

Speaker 13 I'm just going for my team. I'm going for my home team.
And,

Speaker 13 you know,

Speaker 13 I hope y'all accept my apology.

Speaker 12 I love you.

Speaker 13 I love you. You know, on sweet gigs.

Speaker 13 You know how I feel about you.

Speaker 13 And that's pretty much it. And on the next week.
On the next week.

Speaker 13 That's how I'm feeling.

Speaker 13 Ravens. Matter of fact, I got to apologize.
I got a butter.

Speaker 12 Bingles and guppies, flop.

Speaker 12 Ravens, flop. Guppies and bingles, flop.

Speaker 13 I got to apologize. The butter, butter too, but I know you're going to see this, butter.

Speaker 12 whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, timeout.

Speaker 12 How you going to, see, you see how you do it?

Speaker 11 What?

Speaker 13 great dominate performance, you know, 30-9 against the Atlanta Falcons. The Atlanta are a good team.
They're a good team.

Speaker 13 And for Tua to look that way, the defense to play well, offensively, they were able to move the ball. They were able to put up points, something that they struggle to do.

Speaker 13 And then to come out tonight and lay an egg. You know, the first quarter, I'm like, oh, yes.
Oh, this is going to be a game. And I'm like, man, what the hell?

Speaker 12 Oh, see,

Speaker 12 let me ask you a question.

Speaker 12 If you hadn't seen Atlanta, let's just say, okay, fact, we're not going to look at anything in a vacuum. Because if you look at it in a vacuum, you just look at Atlanta, you say, okay.

Speaker 12 But what about prior to Atlanta? So if we had taken Atlanta out of the equation and we looked at everything that they had done up until Atlanta, skip over Atlanta, what would you have seen?

Speaker 13 They were definitely losing that. They were definitely.

Speaker 13 I'm just going to be honest with you. And I was betting with my heart, but I was bet with my heart with confidence based on that performance last week.
I'm like, oh, ain't no way in hell,

Speaker 13 as bad as the Raven defense has been this year, ain't no way in hell they finna beat the Dolphins.

Speaker 12 I'm talking about the family. But you make the Dolphins got the Chiefs' offense or the Lions offense.

Speaker 12 Or, or, or, or, or, or, or Philly or Buffalo or somebody. They're not known for no.

Speaker 13 I mean, I know Shami and they can move the ball, though. They did tonight.
They were able to move the ball. They were able to move the ball and be efficient, run the ball when they need to.

Speaker 13 Devon A-chan catching out the backfield. He's a dude.

Speaker 12 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a fan of the family.
He was just like,

Speaker 13 I don't know, man.

Speaker 12 Truth be told, he their best player. I know, too, with a quarterback, A-chan is their best player.

Speaker 13 You think so?

Speaker 12 It just, it just, I mean, yeah, he's small.

Speaker 12 I get he's small, Locho, but he can catch it. He can run it.
He can run between the tackles.

Speaker 12 He got crazy speed that if he hit a seam he can hit his head on the goal post he's a solid receiver out of the backfield uh uh he he he has more speed than kamara and christian mccaffrey but he's every bit elusive and you can blind him up out wide you can put him in the slot and he gets his hand on the ball boy hey he a threat to go the whole way uh it's just that you know i i just don't know how far you can go with tua I just don't.

Speaker 12 They make dumb mistakes.

Speaker 12 They got it fourth and one, and they're about to go for it. And the right tackle gets a procedure.

Speaker 12 I'm like, bro, what are you doing?

Speaker 13 We're killing ourselves. We're killing ourselves.

Speaker 12 Now you got to kick a field goal.

Speaker 12 Everybody was yelling.

Speaker 12 Mike McDaniel was yelling at him coming out the field. And rightfully so.

Speaker 12 I just don't get it, bro. You home.
You are home.

Speaker 12 It's not like you're on the road and it's crowded noise. You're home.

Speaker 12 You know the snap count.

Speaker 12 It's just, it's stuff like that.

Speaker 12 They've got to do it.

Speaker 12 They're going to have to tear this thing down and build it back up, OJo. Whoa, whoa.

Speaker 12 They got some pieces. I'm not so sure Phillips or everybody could use a Phillips.
Bradley Chubb. People don't try to take pieces.

Speaker 12 You might as well just

Speaker 12 sell off and then try to get stuff and then go into the draft and build this thing back up.

Speaker 13 Another thing, now that you mentioned the fact of them tearing it down and building it back up, you've been right about every coach that was probably going to lose their job.

Speaker 13 You've been right about every coach that might have been on the hot seat and going to get fired. You've been right about every player that you said were going to get paid.
They got paid.

Speaker 12 Oh, Hutchins. So we're going to talk about Hutchins in a minute.

Speaker 13 So are you saying Mike McDaniels, will he make it throughout the entire season? Or if they continue to lose,

Speaker 13 will they let him go?

Speaker 12 I'm trying to think.

Speaker 12 I know John Emery is the tight ends coach. He's been a head coach in this league.
He comes from that

Speaker 12 Shanahan tree. So I'm not surprised that he's on the staff with Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 12 he's been a head coach i think he was at colorado which is his alma mater um uh weaver is the defensive coordinator i don't think he's ever held held a head coaching position um

Speaker 12 i think it's 50-50

Speaker 12 that he leaves before the season ain't no question in my mind he's going after the season

Speaker 12 No question whatsoever. And I think the thing is, Ocho, is that you start selling, you know, A.

Speaker 12 You just start selling pieces off because it's not going to work in its, in its current condition. In its current condition, the Dolphins are not equipped.
They don't have enough.

Speaker 12 The quarterback is not, he can't elevate. You have to elevate him.
And when A-chan is running wild, when Tyreek was healthy and going crazy, when Water was going crazy, Tua looked really, really good.

Speaker 12 But he doesn't possess the skill set to elevate other people. Like says, okay,

Speaker 12 he was good, but he made it better. That's not what he did.
That's not what happened.

Speaker 13 Think about what you just just said. You said Tu is not the kind of quarterback that can elevate his play when he doesn't have the type of talent around him that can elevate his.

Speaker 13 Well, how many quarterbacks in the NFL are like that? It's maybe four or five that elevate.

Speaker 12 The ones that make 50 million should be able to do that. Hold on, Ocho.
Mac McDaniel is firmly up in the air per in Rappaport on the hot seat, as they say.

Speaker 12 I do not sense anything imminent from owner Stephen Ross, who likes him, believes in him, and has invested in him. But here's how McDaniel is going to be judged.
How do the players respond?

Speaker 12 What is it like in the locker room? Do they keep playing for him or do they not?

Speaker 12 And can't you see it? There's going to be determined, that's going to determine whether he keeps his job. I just don't see it.

Speaker 12 Even if they play hard, Ocho, I don't see how a coach, you missed the playoffs last year. You go and they got two games, so they're nine games, so they got eight games left.

Speaker 12 Let's just say, for the sake of argument,

Speaker 12 they go four and four in those games, Ocho.

Speaker 12 that's six wins

Speaker 13 that's six and 11 after the season that you had last year well do you factor in the injuries the you know the loss of tyree do you factor in that no or

Speaker 12 yeah there are a lot of teams that got injuries

Speaker 12 injury injuries are a part of it the good teams overcome those injuries

Speaker 12 You hey, you remember Rashid Rice went down last year?

Speaker 12 Mahomes ain't make no excuse.

Speaker 12 Tyreek leaves. He ain't make no excuse.

Speaker 12 What you call him, go out. A.J.
Brown is out. Jalen Hurst doesn't make an

Speaker 12 excuse.

Speaker 12 Dak was playing with our CD. He didn't make any excuse.
And look, I get it.

Speaker 12 But injuries are a part of this, and you factor those in. So that's why you try to do the best job you can of fielding a 53-man team.
You just don't look at it, okay, well, he's going to start.

Speaker 12 But you also have to look at what happens if he goes down. Will we be able to keep this thing afloat two weeks, three weeks, four weeks? That's it.

Speaker 12 And if it, I'm talking about wiring, your wide receiver, running back, quarterback, something like that.

Speaker 12 Hey, Greer, hell, I think Greer is on the hot seat too. You got rid of Brian Flores.

Speaker 12 You hired Josh McDaniels. Josh McDaniels, excuse me, Mike McDaniel.
Mike McDaniel. Excuse me, chat.

Speaker 12 Oh, Joe. I don't know if you noticed.
They're not close to Buffalo. They're not close to New England.

Speaker 12 Think about it.

Speaker 12 Josh Allen got another decade. Drake May got a decade plus.

Speaker 12 How close are you to them?

Speaker 12 You fighting with the Jets to try to stay out of last place.

Speaker 12 To try to stay out of the second place.

Speaker 12 Because you're not close to Buffalo and you're not close to New England.

Speaker 13 When you ask how close we are to Buffalo, how close we are to the wing,

Speaker 13 most people that understand the game of football, they say that we're a quarterback away.

Speaker 12 We think we're a quarterback away.

Speaker 12 But here's the thing, Ocho. You got a quarterback that you gave $250 million to.

Speaker 13 I mean, actually, actually,

Speaker 13 you had no choice.

Speaker 13 There were no other options.

Speaker 12 I agree 100%.

Speaker 12 But...

Speaker 12 What's the likelihood of now? You're going to have to go in the draft, but you're going to have to find one.

Speaker 12 Develop him because you're not gonna get one in free agency. Ain't nobody letting no, I mean, I'm trying to think who Anthony Richardson.
I'm no, you're not going that route.

Speaker 12 So, I'm trying to think who you could get in free agency. What quarterback is going to be available in free agency? You want

Speaker 12 first cousins?

Speaker 13 Whoa, now hey, wait, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Speaker 12 Hold on, man.

Speaker 13 You just put a smile on my face a little bit, man.

Speaker 12 He can't move, Ocho. He was already a statue.
So

Speaker 12 he can move less now.

Speaker 13 Listen, I know one thing I know what he can do. I know we can deliver that ball like Amazon.

Speaker 13 I know we can deliver that ball like FedEx and UPS.

Speaker 12 But anytime there's inclement weather, what happens? My package ain't there when it said it would.

Speaker 13 This is that what you just said just there? It's been hunting the dolphins since the 80s.

Speaker 12 And one more thing, you got to realize, cousins for the last decade plus, has been indoor weather. Where do they play at in Buffalo? Is that indoor?

Speaker 13 It's cold.

Speaker 12 What about New England?

Speaker 13 It gets a little chilly.

Speaker 12 What about New York?

Speaker 12 So, are you sure you want to be a guy that's getting on up in age that didn't have the ability to move before, can move even less now? Is that what you wanted to hell?

Speaker 12 You're probably, you're probably better off, Ocho. If I'm going to scrap it,

Speaker 12 I'm going bare bones and build it back up.

Speaker 13 Listen, going bare bones and building it back up, based on what I've seen so far, that's out there, the options, the answer ain't not down.

Speaker 13 We've watched college football. The answer is

Speaker 13 if they can't elevate their teams and stand out and

Speaker 13 pop out on film and pop out on tape right now, they're not going to do it there because they don't have the weapons or right situation offensively for it to happen.

Speaker 13 We can just, you can plug somebody in there and they can just go.

Speaker 13 You got to be him to go play in that offense and make a difference.

Speaker 12 Yes.

Speaker 12 But look, you had an opportunity the first two years. You had a healthy reek and for the most part, waddle.
You had Han, you stumbled on A chain.

Speaker 12 You didn't get it done. You laid it.

Speaker 12 You started faltering down the stretch. And that's what happened.
So you started faltering down the stretch. And then you mess around.

Speaker 12 And you have to go to Kansas City, knowing what they represent, knowing what that place is like to play in the playoffs. And it's 10 below zero.

Speaker 13 They were cold, boy.

Speaker 13 It was cold.

Speaker 12 I mean, so cold, the Greyhound got inside the bus. He was on the bus, Ocho driving.
It was cold. Shit, I'm getting one of these seats.

Speaker 12 But, man,

Speaker 12 they got to,

Speaker 12 and I know it's hard. And I know Dolphins dolphins fans like that they got the longest tenure without winning a playoff game 24 seasons Yeah

Speaker 12 24 seasons 24

Speaker 13 That's crazy.

Speaker 12 I just don't see it. I just don't see it

Speaker 12 Uh-oh, Ocho, the Eagles are reportedly interested in a potential blockbuster trade involving star pass rusher Miles Garrett.

Speaker 12 According to Yahoo Sports Charles Robinson, I've heard it from a couple of other super high-ranking people and other teams that are clearly on the phones that Howie Roseman and the Eagles are super hot at the Miles Garrett.

Speaker 12 That Howie Roseman would give up like three first-round picks

Speaker 12 and a player.

Speaker 12 You know what?

Speaker 12 I think they'd probably be willing to give up three first-round picks and probably Jordan Davis or one of those superstars, you know, one of those young players.

Speaker 12 I don't think they'd be willing to give up Carter,

Speaker 12 but I think they'd be willing to give up Davis. But it's going to take three first rounds.
Absolutely.

Speaker 13 And

Speaker 13 it's damn well worth it. One thing about Harry Roseman,

Speaker 13 if you watch the way he maneuver, the way he conducts business when it comes to getting players and building the team, building a roster, you know, and obviously right now, the main thing is the main thing with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 13 Despite what everybody talking about, they're trying to go back and repeat, huh?

Speaker 13 They trying to go back and repeat. And goddamn, Harry Roseman is pushing all his chips in on the table.
I know what I need. I know a piece can help us.
And that's going to get goddamn.

Speaker 13 And what happened what happened if with that trade through three first round picks and a player what if they want AJ Brown in exchange

Speaker 12 hey they want you can have him what what

Speaker 12 yes

Speaker 12 because the way I look at it Ocho if I get him and I'm and I'm the Philadelphia Eagles that I believe I can be where are we gonna be picking The bottom half.

Speaker 12 You're gonna get somewhere between 28 and 32.

Speaker 12 We're not gonna be in the top 10, so it's not gonna hunt us. It's not going to hurt us.
See, now you mess around and you pick it in the top 10 are Chicago. Who's that?

Speaker 12 No, Clee,

Speaker 12 Carolina. Remember Carolina? Wanted the first pick.

Speaker 12 And the next year, boom.

Speaker 12 That pick that you gave up is Caleb Williams.

Speaker 13 Yeah, and honestly, me, just thinking about it, the only thing that makes sense, okay, you're giving us three first-round picks, and we need something of equal value if we're letting

Speaker 12 up, but I wouldn't give up both, though, Ojo. I would give up three first-round picks.
You don't, you don't get AJ and Carter, AJ, and

Speaker 12 you can get you can get AJ.

Speaker 12 You know what? I might be willing to give up Carter and keep Jordan Davis.

Speaker 13 No,

Speaker 12 no,

Speaker 13 absolutely not.

Speaker 12 I would know.

Speaker 13 I'm going the opposite way. And obviously, it might not be anybody defensively.

Speaker 13 With all the smoke, with all the talking, you know, they might let sticks go. Because I think that's the value.
Who, Devontae? No, I say sticks. I mean them 11.

Speaker 12 Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah. AJ, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I can see that.

Speaker 12 But I think, Ocho,

Speaker 12 Carter hadn't been the same player in the injuries. He wasn't in shape like he was supposed to.

Speaker 12 See, teams factored that in.

Speaker 12 Ocho, your kid's 24.

Speaker 12 So if he's not in shape at 24, what makes me think he's going to be in shape at 26, 27, 28?

Speaker 12 And now, Ocho,

Speaker 12 I got to put a big contract on the table. Now he's going to want 30, 32, 33, 34 million.
Am I willing? Is that someone I can trust to invest that kind of money in?

Speaker 12 I already know what I'm going to get with Miles Garrett. I'm cool with that.
I already know.

Speaker 12 Miles Garrett is going to play like he's broke, and he's one of the highest played defensive players in football. So I'm not ever worried about him being in shape.

Speaker 12 Now, I got to worry about him speeding a little bit. Hey, damn, miles slow it down.
Damn, bro. But, uh, hey, I'm sure they've had, I think Andrew Barry has had a conversation with him.

Speaker 12 Um, I think he's got like six speeding tickets, a couple of them excess of 100 miles an hour. That's something that he needs to work on.

Speaker 12 But I don't have to worry about him when it comes to being in condition and being him playing hard. I don't have to light a fire up on him.

Speaker 12 Oh, Joe, if I pay you that kind of money, oh, I don't need to give you no pep talk.

Speaker 12 I don't need to say, come on, son, we need it today.

Speaker 12 What?

Speaker 12 I need you to say, hey, hey, son, I don't need you can't practice today.

Speaker 12 Because I don't want you to hurt nobody.

Speaker 12 That's how it should be. Look,

Speaker 12 all we can go by is, Ocho, by body language, what's being said.

Speaker 12 Something is going on that AJ doesn't seem happy. He doesn't feel like he's getting the targets that, because he, Ocho, he's looking at a

Speaker 12 one Uno up in Cincinnati.

Speaker 12 That man got 42 targets. I haven't got 42 targets all year.
This man got 42 targets in two games.

Speaker 12 He's looking at Puka. He's looking at Jeddah.
He's looking at all these guys that he says, I'm a number one. And I see number ones.
They get their targets. They get seven, eight, ten targets a game.

Speaker 12 I get three or four, and I'm supposed to be okay with that.

Speaker 13 Yeah, well, you're supposed to be okay with that when you're winning, and that's that's what everybody says. But you got to be careful what you wish for, huh? Because you got to think

Speaker 12 you got to tell me, think about the situation. The trade deadline ends what the fourth, November fourth, so Tuesday, Tuesday at four, uh, four o'clock.

Speaker 13 You got to be careful what you wish for because you're coming from a perfect situation. And what happens if you end up in Cleveland?

Speaker 12 Ooh,

Speaker 13 because there's inconsistent play at the quarterback position.

Speaker 13 I think if you put A.J. Brown in that system, now I think they will put you in position to be able to get 42 goddamn catches a game.

Speaker 12 But who can get it to him?

Speaker 12 You trusted. No, no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 12 It takes a veteran quarterback

Speaker 12 to target somebody 23 times.

Speaker 12 And the guy caught, what did he catch? Like 16 of them? He got targeted, what, 19 times. He caught 12 of them.

Speaker 12 Everybody doesn't know how to do that.

Speaker 12 But the thing that I love most about the Eagles,

Speaker 12 and I love this about

Speaker 12 the Lions also,

Speaker 12 is that not only are they developing players, they're not afraid to go get somebody that they feel that can really help them get to the.

Speaker 12 You see, you look at, and

Speaker 12 where it's,

Speaker 12 oh, we're going to talk about about it a little later. I'll touch on it right now.
You look at Detroit.

Speaker 12 They say, man, we need to look, Matthew Stafford, he wants to go block. Okay, we'll make a trade.
That's okay, Rams. Give us two first-rounders and Jerry Goff.

Speaker 12 Now they go get Pinay Su. They get Jameer Gibbs.
Now they get

Speaker 12 J-Mo. They get Amon Ross and Brown.
They get Abe Hutchinson.

Speaker 12 And guess what they've done, Ocho? We drafted them. We developed them.
We paid them.

Speaker 12 Look at the money that they paid all these guys. You see, four four years, 212, four years, 180, four years, 120, four years, 112, four years, 93.

Speaker 12 You see a real current thing?

Speaker 12 Guys, know now if I come here and I work my butt off, I'm going to get paid. Ain't no dilly dallon around.
Ain't playing no mind games. And the buck stops with me on my desk.

Speaker 12 And don't nobody get this and that. Ain't about no egos.
Brad, kudos to Brad Holmes, the general manager.

Speaker 13 And also, kudos to him for drafting too, for drafting well.

Speaker 13 Because rad home that's sometimes you draft players and hope they pan out and they actually don't pan out but it seemed like everyone they drafted to date it always just seemed to pan out which is why they've been able to pay players and develop them and and they get the money that they get because kirby joe they drafted really well man

Speaker 12 uh you know they i mean they've done they've done a great job you look at that d line you look at those linebackers campbell and you look at uh what's the the big d lineman that just came back they've done a great job of identifying a player that fits their system.

Speaker 12 You know, Coach Belichick used to take a lot of criticism for guys like, who is this guy? But Coach Belichick knew what he was looking for. He's looking for two gap defensive linemen.

Speaker 12 You're not going to get no sacks. Remember, Chris Long left.
He said, yeah, it's fun to win, but I want to be a player. I just don't want to hold up so the linebackers can make plays.

Speaker 12 My job as a defensive, as an edge rusher, excuse me, chat, I want to hunt the quarterback.

Speaker 12 I don't want to just sit on the porch and bark. Let me hunt.

Speaker 12 And so you identify the player that's going to fit the system, a player that personality-wise will fit your system.

Speaker 12 Because it don't do any good if the guy fits the system, but he's a jackass.

Speaker 12 You have to identify that. You identify that.
You do your homework. Now, you're going to miss some because sometimes guys can fool you.

Speaker 13 Absolutely.

Speaker 12 But

Speaker 12 I just love what they do. Through the first eight weeks of the season, the Colts and Daniel Jones have been the biggest surprise.

Speaker 12 With Andy signed Jones this offseason, he was widely viewed as another option behind 2023 number four pick Anthony Richardson. But Jonathan Taylor realized the job with Jones after the first practice.

Speaker 12 When he first got into training camp and he called check

Speaker 12 as in the playbook. But if you've been here, one of those checks that's like, oh, yeah, we call that sometimes.
The fact that he called it is like, Did this guy have the playbook six months ago?

Speaker 12 That's when I understood. Oh, okay.
His level of preparation is different for him to come in day one, day two, and make that call, make that check. He's been studying.

Speaker 12 It's day one of install, and he's already that far ahead. I'm like, this guy is legit.

Speaker 13 Yes, sir.

Speaker 12 I don't know how. I'm gonna ask you.
I know how I took that.

Speaker 12 I know how I took that.

Speaker 12 He didn't say it. He heaped from praise, but that was a...

Speaker 12 I think that was a shot at the...

Speaker 12 Go ahead, but you go go ahead. What you think, what you think?

Speaker 13 I think players don't intend to take shots at other individuals that play the same position when praising another. I think just

Speaker 13 praising the fact that Daniel Jones was so well informed with the offense to have already been there

Speaker 13 to know it the way, to know it, the ins and outs and the nuances of it after just getting there. It's like, well, godly.

Speaker 13 But you also have to understand what Daniel Jones is fighting for.

Speaker 13 He's fighting for a job, an opportunity to start after leaving somewhere. It just didn't work.

Speaker 13 And maybe this could have been a good thing for Anthony Richardson to see.

Speaker 13 Okay, now

Speaker 13 I have a better understanding of what I need to do, the way to conduct myself, not only as a pro, but as quarterback number one.

Speaker 11 Well,

Speaker 13 was quarterback number one of a team. This is the stuff I needed to do.

Speaker 13 Make sure I succeeded, not just in the classroom, not just in practice, but the results of doing so and putting the work in is going to show up on Sundays where it mattered most.

Speaker 12 I don't think Jonathan Taylor was intentionally trying to take a swipe at Anthony Richardson. He was heaping praise, but in the process of heaping praise, people are going to look like, well, damn,

Speaker 12 he just got there a month ago, and you got a quarterback that's been there for two years, and he never did anything like this. And he had the playbook.

Speaker 12 So that's the thing, though, Ocho. No, was he out there trying to say, well, hey, we've heard stories.
He used the first elite, first in, or he used the last in the first out. They benched him

Speaker 12 for a reason.

Speaker 12 But that's what, I mean, the quarterback, the preparation has to be so intense.

Speaker 12 And if you, and a lot of times, that's why they go ahead and get mad because they're like, I can't be out there. I need to be home.
I need to be in front of this projector.

Speaker 12 And I need to, well, an iPad now, Ocho. And I need to be going through.
And I need my mind focused on how I need a home.

Speaker 12 And so they're going over and over and over and over.

Speaker 12 I told you from day one, and once I saw what he was getting paid, I said, Well, he's gonna be a starter.

Speaker 12 He's gonna be the starter, oh, Joe.

Speaker 13 I'm not, I'm not even sure when I saw that, too. Obviously, it's what it's just having common sense and understanding the game, understanding the business at that.

Speaker 12 Yep, damn.

Speaker 12 What?

Speaker 12 What I didn't understand,

Speaker 12 if you got a project, okay. Somebody say, well, you got a project car or you got a project home.
Oh, so you don't try to drive the car. You say you got to fix something.
You got a project.

Speaker 12 It's going to take work. It's going to take you six months.
It's going to take you a year to get it operational. You got a project home.

Speaker 12 You're like, oh man, I got this. I bought this home, but I'm going to fix it up.
You don't try to live in it.

Speaker 12 You said this guy was a project. He had immense talent and he does.

Speaker 12 And you start him?

Speaker 12 What changed?

Speaker 12 Bait, just go back and look at his tape. From high school, look at his tape from college.
And you tell me this man should have been a starter from day one?

Speaker 12 No, Ocho, no.

Speaker 12 You did him a huge disservice.

Speaker 12 Can he go somewhere else? It's going to take, I mean, he's got something. He needs to go get with someone to understand mechanics of throwing.

Speaker 12 Everything, you can't be throwing the football like you're trying to throw it through a hurricane. Because nothing has touched.
Everything is 100 miles an hour.

Speaker 12 Shallow cross is throwing it like he's throwing a far cross or deep over.

Speaker 12 No, bro.

Speaker 12 And look, give Daniel Jones credit.

Speaker 12 He's come in. And like you said, the situation didn't work out

Speaker 12 in New York. He had to sit the bench in Minnesota.

Speaker 12 But he got an opportunity and he says if I get another opportunity take advantage of it because

Speaker 12 I'm not letting you know.

Speaker 13 You're not going to get too many.

Speaker 13 Not to be a starter. No, not to be a starter.
Not to say, okay, this is my team. I have nothing to worry about.
You don't get too many of them chances, especially coming from New York.

Speaker 13 Shoot, if you can't get it done in New York, you know, which is obviously what I would consider. I mean, the big, one of the biggest markets, maybe the biggest market.
Yeah.

Speaker 13 You know, if you could deal with that media, you could deal with anything.

Speaker 12 Do you

Speaker 12 just like, you know, Trey Lance? He was a project.

Speaker 12 He played.

Speaker 13 I forgot about Trey.

Speaker 12 I just, I don't get it.

Speaker 13 Where's Trey Lance at as a backup, huh?

Speaker 12 Is he in Dallas still?

Speaker 12 A Houston?

Speaker 12 Because I know he was a... Oh, no.
The Chargers. Oh, he's on the Chargers.

Speaker 13 Okay.

Speaker 12 Because he played basically he played all the preseason, the Chargers.

Speaker 12 Carl Banks, who's the radio analyst for the Giants, was extremely critical this week of Dexter Lawrence on his podcast with Bob Popper. Pop!

Speaker 12 Dexter Lawrence, nobody respects you anymore. Nobody, Banks said before going on going in on to say Lawrence wasn't playing at the same level as previous seasons.

Speaker 12 Lawrence strongly disagreed with Banks' assessment, citing at the rate in which he gets double team. Those are strong words.
That's how you feel? F it. He's delusional.

Speaker 12 Lawrence is getting double team, a league high, 75% of the pass rate,

Speaker 12 75% of the rate on his pass rush opportunities.

Speaker 12 You know,

Speaker 12 I know Banks. I played against Banks.
Obviously, he's older than me, but I played against Banks. I think he was still at the Giants.

Speaker 12 I know I played against him when he was at Cleveland because when Coach Belichick went to Cleveland,

Speaker 12 he took Banks with him. Banks was originally one of the Giants.
Him, it was him, Pep,

Speaker 12 Harry Carson, and LT.

Speaker 12 So that's why I know him for him. And so

Speaker 12 I know Banks.

Speaker 12 What do you think, Ojo, when analysts come out, played the game, he played the game at a high level?

Speaker 12 I think one year, Banks was the first team all-pro.

Speaker 12 As a matter of fact, I think he beat an

Speaker 12 LT that year. He was the first team all-pro.

Speaker 12 What do you say when guys are critical? I mean,

Speaker 12 this is his opinion that he doesn't believe that

Speaker 12 Dexter is playing at the level in which he's played in years past and playing at a level in which he got the big contract that the Giants giving him, which he earned.

Speaker 13 I mean, honestly, you got three

Speaker 13 defensive tackles in the NFL that are considered the best right now. Chris Jones is one of them.

Speaker 12 Yeah.

Speaker 13 Jeffrey Simmons is another. And that third is in no particular order.
And the third

Speaker 13 is Dexter Lawrence. Now, I'm not sure what Mr.
Banks is watching when it comes to football, especially the New York Giants. I'm sure he probably watches all the Giants' game, being that he has.

Speaker 12 Yeah, he's hellas. Yeah.
Yeah. He and Bob Papa.

Speaker 13 Being that he has a podcast that he's doing with Big Papa. But you can see and understand that they scheme

Speaker 13 ways to stop Dexter Lawrence. Every player.
First down, it's going to be a double team.

Speaker 13 Second

Speaker 13 down, it's going to be a double team. So you understand how difficult it is for him to have the efficiency that Carl Banks is looking for, saying that nobody's scared of you anymore.

Speaker 13 If they weren't scared of him anymore, they wouldn't be double teaming, no?

Speaker 13 They just

Speaker 13 one-on-one.

Speaker 12 Let me ask you a question.

Speaker 12 How many times do you think AD got double?

Speaker 13 Now we talk about

Speaker 13 two total different dogs.

Speaker 13 We're talking about two totally different dogs.

Speaker 12 You and I both know when you become that guy, you can't give excuses. You can't say, Hey, man, get up on your man.
They doubling me.

Speaker 12 We pay you to be though.

Speaker 13 You've been in them trenches, right?

Speaker 13 Yeah, you know what it's like dying at. Now, I'm not, I know I play around a lot.

Speaker 12 I don't, hey, I don't be dying there,

Speaker 13 but I know what them strong jokers could do, and I know what it's like. And having they move your ass up by the way, and having to take on two of that every time,

Speaker 13 no matter how strong you are, you mean I gotta get, I gotta deal deal with two of me?

Speaker 12 What we do, Ocho, is that we don't do it every time, but we do it enough that when we don't do it, you're anticipating it. So you hesitating.
That's all I need. He who hesitated.

Speaker 12 So that's all I need to do, Ocho. I'm going to double your ass enough that now when I don't double, you're anticipating the double to come.

Speaker 13 Hey.

Speaker 12 What do they do to receivers that used to get the ball? What I'm going to do is double you early on. I'm going to get you you frustrated.
I ain't going to W the whole game.

Speaker 12 I just want to do it just the first quarter, get you frustrated. Then I got you.
Damn.

Speaker 12 So

Speaker 12 look, I get it.

Speaker 12 You look, I think when you're losing,

Speaker 12 okay, what's going on? Why aren't we winning? Because I think you look at it. They got Law.
They got Thibodeau. They got Carter.
They got Brian Burns. Ain't no reason.

Speaker 12 You give up 33 points in the fourth quarter. I don't give a damn what you say.

Speaker 13 They got a nice squad of names, huh? They got a nice squad of names.

Speaker 12 Man, Brian,

Speaker 12 Brian,

Speaker 12 what's his name? Brian Burns been to the Pro Bowl. Destroyed.
It was an all-pro.

Speaker 12 Thibodeau.

Speaker 13 Kayvon.

Speaker 12 They got guys that can play.

Speaker 12 Now, the back end leaves a lot to be desired, okay?

Speaker 12 Because if they don't get there, it's going to be a completion.

Speaker 13 Absolutely.

Speaker 12 He says it's been double.

Speaker 12 But it's hard, Ocho. I mean, people like these people talking.
And the thing is, Banks knows football. Banks studies the game.
He's a student of the game.

Speaker 12 It's ain't nobody.

Speaker 12 No, no, no. No, it's not.
It's absolutely not.

Speaker 12 All I can tell

Speaker 12 Dex,

Speaker 12 hey,

Speaker 12 just keep plugging, bro. That's all you can do.
Just keep plugging away.

Speaker 13 That's all you do. That's all you can do.

Speaker 13 But that goddamn double team, boy, that's just what a thing hell, boy.

Speaker 12 It is. I mean, you got to realize they got 600 pounds rooting your ass up out of there.
You know, he's, you know, he's under or he's shade, nose. All right, bro.
You got the center and the guard.

Speaker 12 Oh, they're going to get your ass up out of there.

Speaker 13 That's tough. And it's so funny.
Speaking of that, and watching Aaron Donald and some of the clips with him. And his ability to get off so fast and

Speaker 13 make himself skinny.

Speaker 13 Yeah, he's only only dealing with one man out of the double team hey that that that's i'm oh that's crazy and every blue moon you see him he'll grab one in the middle of the chest with one hand and have the other one in the middle of the chest with the other hand and he and he looking he controlling everything i'm like how the hell is he that's how the hell he doing all that

Speaker 12 A lot of times you have to be able to feel the double team. You see how the guy,

Speaker 12 if he's trying to reach me, they're trying to scoop me or they sift it. They're trying to, They're trying to power.
They're trying to combo block me.

Speaker 12 But that's instinct. That's years and years of playing that double team and understanding it.

Speaker 12 Because, you know, like you said, hey, Kank, you got to make a pile.

Speaker 12 But he was so good at playing on the edge.

Speaker 12 So he's not. And the same thing I tell tight ends, bro, don't let that man square you up.

Speaker 12 You give him a side. You give him, hey, you decide.

Speaker 12 Don't let him put his hands in your breastplate.

Speaker 13 Oh, it's a a wrap you're not going nowhere and don't let him be strong you definitely move

Speaker 12 yeah

Speaker 12 you better be able to whack and that's what that's what the good d tackles look at look at aaron donnel rush you see he doing he's doing like a wide receiver or tight end he's up there doing this ah ah

Speaker 12 trying to get skinny trying to trying to run the rim what we used to have a circle and guys run around it and and see how low they could get and get around there i remember that um

Speaker 12 it's frustrating when you lose OTO. You know that.
And when you lose, okay, who makes the most money?

Speaker 12 Because God making $750,000. Why are we talking about him?

Speaker 13 No attention to that.

Speaker 13 And listen,

Speaker 13 and the funny thing about it is a lot of people will see this as Hayden. Obviously, when it comes to probably the best player on the defense, it's

Speaker 13 next to Lawrence. And to come out and say something like that when people aren't scared anymore, when obviously,

Speaker 13 statistically, based on the numbers that you just said, anyone that's being blocked and dubbed teams 70% of the time or more,

Speaker 13 I mean, there's your answer. There's your answer.

Speaker 12 Oh,

Speaker 12 I still think he's feared. I still think they understand.

Speaker 19 If you've got a thirst to put the world on notice, Sprite's for you.

Speaker 19 Whether you're shooting a masterpiece on your phone, filling notebooks for sketches, or turning your bedroom into the booth, keep going. Obey your thirst.
