They weren't in awe of the moment. They wanted to prove that

I thought it was because I never thought Indiana, that's a basketball school, would be where they are.

Speaker 10 Indiana is a basketball state where it used to be before Peyton Manning. It was a basketball in the Indianapolis 500 state.
But now with Peyton coming there, it's a football state. And now with IU,

Speaker 10 oh my goodness.

Speaker 10 Coach Signetti, you tip your hat to him because he did an unbelievable job, an unbelievable job of scouting, recruiting, getting the staff together.

Speaker 10 Fernando Mendoza, I believe he's going to win the Heisman. I think what he did tonight,

Speaker 10 I think he was the betting favorite coming in. Saying, was right there on his tail.
But I think with what he did tonight and what he's done all year, I think he's

Speaker 10 more than earned the right. He ain't no more deserving.
He's more than earned the right to be the Heisman Trophy winner of 2025.

Speaker 10 So he's definitely getting an invitation, and I believe he will be the winner of the 2025 Heisman Trophy when it's presented at the Downtown Athletic Club.

Speaker 10 Clearly, this is the biggest win in IU history. They took down a team.
I don't know when the last time,

Speaker 10 I mean, they were the defending Big Ten champs. They were defending national champs.
And they beat them. They were more physical.
They were more.

Speaker 10 It's not often because Indiana got a lot of, I mean, excuse me, Ohio State has a lot of guys that's going to play on Sunday.

Speaker 10 Caleb Downs, they got

Speaker 10 Jeremiah Smith. They've got a lot of guys.
Hey, that Caden Curry, number 92, he's going to play on Sunday. Yes, sir.

Speaker 10 He's going to play on Sunday. They got a lot of guys going to play.

Speaker 10 And for Indiana to come in there and be just as physical, if not more physical, to be as disciplined, if not more disciplined, than what Ohio State was, you got to tip your hat to Indiana.

Speaker 10 They earned this victory. They left no doubt.
They left no doubt. This is the best team in the country.

Speaker 20 Yeah. And the game, especially a game of this magnitude, you know, is one up front.
It's one up front. The game is one in the trenches, and that's exactly what they won.

Speaker 20 And then defensively, the Hoosiers weren't scared.

Speaker 20 They weren't scared to be able to blitz either. Because most of the time when you do blitz, hell, you put your back in, you put the back end in harm's way.

Speaker 20 But listen, the back end played so goddamn well,

Speaker 20 they had no problem being able to do so. So listen,

Speaker 20 I tell you the truth, I was surprised. I was surprised that Indiana, I knew I understood the players that they had.
I understood the personnel that they had, but I didn't know they were this good.

Speaker 10 You know, look, we talk about Indiana, and we had, I think we had Pons on. Did we have him on the DB from Indiana? Wasn't he on early this year? Yeah.

Speaker 10 And, you know, he was talking about, and I think the thing is, OJo, is that, like I said, they scored 70 points. They scored 50 points.
They're beating Big Ten opponents by 50 plus points a game.

Speaker 10 And I'm just thinking, okay, what about the level of competition? We're going to see when they happen to be in Ohio State. I apologize, Chad.
I spoke. Oregon was the defending Big Ten champs,

Speaker 10 not Ohio State. They got in because

Speaker 10 Oregon had beat them in Oregon, and then they played Oregon later, and they beat the breaks off Oregon, but that's neither here nor there.

Speaker 10 This is Indiana's first outright Big Ten title since 1945. I don't know how many in the chat was alive when Indiana won the last Big Ten championship, but

Speaker 10 They look this was as an impressive performance that I've seen this year the way they went in and like I said I believe the biggest difference between this year and last year, they were not in R.

Speaker 10 of Ohio State.

Speaker 10 The Buc guys and the defending champs and they got all these guys. They got a $20 million roster.
Okay, fine and good.

Speaker 10 But at the end of the day, no matter how much a guy has in his bank account, he still has to go out to perform. I don't care if you're the NFL.
I don't care what level you are.

Speaker 10 At the end of the day, your bank account ain't got nothing to do with what you're doing on this field.

Speaker 10 You still got that form you got that money and deservedly so but Indiana said you know what guys we got we got we we got we got 60 minutes to prove who's the better team yeah and money and money don't matter at that point not in between the lines in between them lines that money don't matter nope um

Speaker 10 Ohio State suffered its first loss of the season. Kurt Signetic has completed one of the greatest turnarounds in college football history.

Speaker 10 Man, if you go back and think about what Coach Sabin had on his staff, from Coach Signetti to Wayne Kiffey to Kirby Smart to Crystal Ball to Dan Landing with a grad assistant to Mel Tucker, you look at what he had, Billy Napier.

Speaker 10 It's hard to find a better coach and treat than that in college football.

Speaker 10 And with that being said,

Speaker 10 I'm just impressed. I'm just impressed with Indiana because of what I,

Speaker 10 to actually sit down and just watch them on your, because a lot of times, you know, I think they played, who they play, Georgia State or somebody, and they beat them

Speaker 10 70 to 7, and they beat them 73, and they beat team 60 to 10. I'm like, man, what am I going to get out of this? I said, I want to see them play.

Speaker 10 The only time they were really put to the test is that they had on fourth down, they had to make that catch against, I think it was Penn State.

Speaker 10 That was really the only time that we really saw them tested. I said, well, you know what?

Speaker 10 They're going to be in the Big Ten championship opposite of Ohio State, and we're going to find out if they're for real or not. And I think that's what everybody was waiting and watching for.

Speaker 10 Let's see how well they are. Let's see it go up against the Buckeyes.

Hey, I know this is very impressive, but for you, as a coach,

Speaker 10 and what they were, and winning like at the level in Michigan, everybody knows those were prominent programs. This is a basketball school.

Speaker 10 This is a basketball school. And I'm sure now people are looking like, hey, Coach Belichick,

Speaker 10 you had a basketball school. What you got? You see what Coach Signetti did with IU?

Speaker 20 Hey, that's not fair. Come on.

Speaker 10 I'm just saying, that's going to be the exact.

Yeah, I got you.

Speaker 10 No, look, it's the first year. I mean, Coach Signetti didn't do this in his first year.
It took time. No, no, no.

Speaker 10 But that's the level of expectations that fans and people are going to boosters and alumni. That's what they're going to have.
You're the greatest coach in NFL history.

Speaker 10 You go to a basketball school, and we saw what Signetti did at IU. This is what they're going to expect from Coach Belichick if he stays.

Speaker 10 I don't know what's going to happen, but if he stays there, that's what they're going to expect. But IU, hey, Ocho, that third-down call,

Speaker 10 and that catch by Charlie Becker, and that throw by Mendoza, that call by Signetti?

Speaker 10 And IU got a, they, you know, we talk about defenses and we talk about Georgia's defense and what they're able to do. Yeah.

Speaker 10 Like I said, I thought Indiana could have really put some pressure on IU early because they were getting into the red zone and they're having to score settle for three and they have to settle for field goals.

Speaker 10 Y'all need to put some pressure on this team. You're not going to put them away in the first half because you still have a whole half of football to go, but you can put them under extreme duress.

Speaker 20 That's when you're supposed to play your best football towards the end of the seasons, and when you're normally playing your best football, what we saw today from Alabama, that's unacceptable.

Speaker 20 That's unacceptable. And I still think that the committee is going to find a way to make sure they're in the college playoffs.

And to just throw it out of bounds, it makes no sense.

Speaker 10 It drives me crazy to see guys on fourth down throw the ball out of the end zone. What do you hell? You hope? Are you worried about your completion percentage?

Speaker 10 You worried about not throwing an interception? Tell me what you hope to accomplish by throwing the ball out of the end zone or throwing the ball out of bounds on fourth down.

Speaker 10 Tell me what you gain from that. Tell me how does that help the team.
And I'm like, bro, I know this. I'm saying, I say, I know this kid did not just throw this ball out of bounds.

Speaker 20 so to have that excitement from him last year and then this year it looked the way it was i don't really understand what that's it that's not just a drop onk that's not just a drop in just production it just something is wrong and i don't think it has anything to do with football it has to be something off the field It has to be something off the field because last year, Unc,

Speaker 10 Caitlin DeBoer said the number nine Crimson Ties are deserving deserving of a spot of the college football playoffs, saying that a conference title game loss shouldn't be punishment.

I think you're only getting two in from the Big Ten, which is IU and Ohio State. Then you got to have Texas Tech.
I don't think anybody's getting in from the ACC.

Speaker 10 If I'm not mistaken, I think Duke just beat Virginia. Ain't no eight and five team getting into the college football playoff.

Speaker 10 So, with that being said, so I think you're going to get Texas Tech, Georgia,

Speaker 10 Well, you meeting to see, hey, we try to lay your ass out. That was the meeting that we was having.

Speaker 10 But you guys now, but Kirby, that's why you guys are so ready to play. You have to prepare your body to take that kind of punishment in the game.

Speaker 10 You cannot, you cannot ask your body to do something it has not done.

Speaker 10 In the game because you hit during the week and your body is conditioned to take that kind of of thing. That's why Georgia constantly have 10, 11 guys go to the NFL every single year.

Speaker 10 This is why those guys play at an elite level every single year because their bodies are used to that. And you got great coaching.

Speaker 10 what made you pick Georgia? You got UCLA, you got USC, man, you got 100 colleges in between California and Georgia.

Speaker 54 That's one of the main reasons I chose Georgia because Georgia is different. To be successful in life, you got to be different, my dog.

Speaker 54 You got to be doing something different than others to be successful in life, to be on top of somebody.

Speaker 54 So, one of the main reasons why I chose Georgia is when I stepped on cameras, I just got a different feeling. I got a feeling that I was at home.

Speaker 54 I got a feeling that the people that are around me was going to try to take care of me to get to my furthest potential. So, that's one of the main reasons I chose Georgia.

Speaker 54 Georgia is a great place to be at.

Speaker 10 It felt like

Speaker 10 I love it.

Speaker 10 You said something very important. You said you got to, if you want to be different, you got to do different.
And I just, what I tell kids,

Speaker 10 Nate, when I used to talk to kids, I said, in order to be great, you must do what others can't or won't. Sometimes you have to do both of them.
You got to do what they can't do and what they won't do.

Speaker 10 Because a lot of times people talk about being successful. And I say, let me ask you a question.

Speaker 10 People always, always write down your goal. I bet you wrote down when you got to Georgia and this season you had, you wrote down 10 things, what you wanted to accomplish.

Speaker 10 But then on the right side, did you write down 10 things you're willing to sacrifice to make sure you get through those 10 things that you did? See, that's what you have to do.

Speaker 10 See, you write down your goal. That's all you want to, but will you write down what you're willing to sacrifice in order to get those goals?

Speaker 10 That's when you take it because nothing great can ever be achieved without sacrifice. The greater the goal, the greater the sacrifice must be to reach that goal.

Speaker 10 You understand what comes along with playing in football. You want to go to the National Football League.
There are going to be some times you're going to have to deny family. I can't come to this.

Speaker 10 I can't do that. I've got to study.
I've got to practice. I've got to be X, Y, and Z.
And you can't feel bad. Man, I feel bad.
I can't, man, I can't go to my mom's. I can't go to mine.

Speaker 10 I can't do this. I can't.
Okay. How great do you want to be?

Speaker 10 Yeah.

Speaker 54 Sacrifice is short.

Speaker 10 Man,

Speaker 10 I just love having the young kids, and I see the hunger in your eye. I see that you want to be great.
I give you a hard time like, man, you ended that. But I was the exact same way.

Speaker 10 I went to one party in four years at Savannah State because partying wasn't going to get me to the NFL. I knew it wasn't.

Speaker 10 And I didn't begrudge anybody that was going to party. My grandmother sent me to college for two reasons, Nate, to get a degree and go play in the NFL.
Now, I knew they were going to happen.

Speaker 10 I didn't know which one was going to happen. I got my degree because it wasn't good enough for me to go to Savannah State or 10 Savannah State.

Speaker 10 I graduated from Savannah State, but I was going to that next level. And so you have the right mindset.
I love the fact that you said, man, I got to get up and go.

Speaker 10 I got to go to church because there's somebody that's a high power that blessed me to be in this position and keep me safe when I'm in these ball games. Because I understand

Speaker 10 one hit could be the end of it. So I got to give somebody that credit.
I got to give somebody that glory and say thank you, not only for keeping me safe, but for allowing me to wake up this morning.

Speaker 10 Because a lot of people had an appointment, Nate, they couldn't reschedule.

You know, it teaches me paces and stuff like that. Sometimes I play my game, but really, one of the main things I just do, I just vibe and listen to music.

Speaker 54 I don't really like being around all the corral and the loud noise and stuff.
