Speaker 7 the Mavs are at risk of forfeiting games if they fall below the minimum. Eight players active required for teams to play.

Speaker 7 ESP and Bobby Marks, Dallas provided an update on Anthony Davis, left abductor strain, Derek Leidley II, right ankle stress fracture, Daniel Gaffer, right knee sprain, stating all three are improving.

Speaker 7 However, there is no timetable on any of their returns.

Speaker 7 Jaden Hardy, right ankle sprain, Kai Jones, quad haven't haven't played since march 3rd pj washington right ankle sprain has been out since march 1st but now it leaves brandon williams dwight powell clay thompson najay marshall caleb martin max christie spencer dinwiddie kessler edwards as the lone healthy players eight total

Speaker 7 nobody else can get injured on yo nah they can't They can't. Listen, hey,

Speaker 11 why would they penalize the team because people are hurt?

Speaker 11 I don't understand. Do they think they're faking or something?

Speaker 7 Just to make sure you don't. The same way you talk about...

Speaker 7 Why team don't want to win games to try to tank and try to get the number one pick to get more ping-pong balls? I thought you played the game to win.

Speaker 11 Well, listen, we know they're not doing that.

Speaker 7 The same way teams used to put players on IR to hide them because the guys, because if you released them, somebody might get them. So we put them on IR.
Right.

Speaker 7 Okay. man you know anytime there's anytime look

Speaker 7 people gonna find a way to skirt the system

Speaker 7 no matter what system is in place

Speaker 7 you know what i got bad credit i'm gonna put my i'm gonna put i'm gonna put the phone in my kid name you see

Speaker 11 i remember them days because i show had a washing dry in my name and i was only two

Speaker 7 classic

Speaker 7 Ocho, Maverick's owner, Patrick Dumont, defended the Lucre trade. Take a listen, Ocho, Ocho, to what he had to say.
It is.

Speaker 12 So tough decisions are never easy.

Speaker 12 And

Speaker 12 part of leadership is looking at risk and looking at all the factors of a decision and being willing to act at that time and look to the long term and not only think about the short term or how it may be received immediately.

Speaker 12 but to think about the long-term benefits and what it may allow you to achieve if given all the right considerations.

Speaker 7 Man,

Speaker 7 what do you talk about

Speaker 11 what do you talk about no did no disrespect to pat no disrespect but the long-term move was having luca there now if you're having issues with what he does off the court there's a simple conversation that needs to be had that's all you have to do listen we view you as our long-term plan a long-term asset the long-term nucleus for our team going into the future.

Speaker 11 We want to build around you because we understand how special you are and what you can do for us. You just got us to the NBA Finals last year,

Speaker 11 the previous year, based on what you can do on the court. Now you let that go with great understanding,

Speaker 11 Lucas ain't just falling from the tree

Speaker 11 every season. They're not just not happening.
There's really no way you can defend that trade.

Speaker 11 Now I understand the issues that were happening off the court, some of the things that they didn't see fit.

Speaker 11 That would probably harm him, you know, years down the line. That's a simple conversation, huh?

Speaker 11 Especially when you want to invest that kind of money that he was going to make and he probably still got to make it just gonna happen to be somewhere else now

Speaker 11 you don't let a player of that magnitude go that had that gives you that type of production you don't

Speaker 11 because like you said like you said as well when is the last time something like this has it ever happened before

Speaker 7 there's a reason

Speaker 11 there's a reason why There's certain players you don't let go of. You think every super, super superstar was perfect behind the scenes?

Speaker 11 You think Kobe didn't have issues despite his dedication and discipline and structure when it came to playing?

Speaker 11 You think Michael Jordan didn't have issues that we don't know about outside of playing the game of basketball?

Speaker 7 Come on, man.

Speaker 11 Ain't nobody perfect a 10 to 10 when it comes to wanting to invest in them, but understanding what they give you from a business perspective and what they can do on the court long term.

Speaker 11 Come on, man. Stop playing.

Speaker 11 That answer was a whole bunch of nothing.

Speaker 7 The problem is that he called it a long-term move, and Nico Harrison said it was a trade-to-win now move.

Speaker 7 I'm looking at it. You just went to the NBA Finals, like you said, Ocho.
That's winning now.

Speaker 7 I'm confused when you, I can see, okay, we got some ass, but you said you're trying to win now. Bro, you just went to the NBA Finals.
You just did that.

Speaker 7 It's not like you hadn't made the playoff in a couple of years, Ocho. It's not like you got knocked out in the first round, Ocho.
It was a situation you went to the NBA Finals.

Speaker 7 So that is winning. You're winning.
Now, you didn't win the ultimate prize, but damn, normally we don't see a team break a team up.

Speaker 7 And that's what they did because you took the key piece out after going to an NBA finals, unless.

Speaker 7 said individual is unhappy. But because Luca never voiced that I wanted to be traded,

Speaker 7 that's what's so surprising.

Speaker 7 That's why the greatest trade, Kareem, wanted to leave.

Speaker 7 Orlando allowed Shaq to become a free agent.

Speaker 7 And they had a poll and they said, who should they pay, Penny or Shaq? And the poll said they should pay Penny.

Speaker 7 Shaq took that as an insult,

Speaker 7 as disrespectful, a slap in the face. He says, okay, that's what y'all want to do.

Speaker 2 Boom. Yeah.

Speaker 7 They also said it was too much money because I forget who it was that had just become the highest paid. And

Speaker 7 it's something to the fact that they didn't think the fans didn't think Shaq deserved that kind of money.

Speaker 7 So

Speaker 7 guys like Shaq, you don't let them become free agents.

Speaker 7 You try to extend them as soon as you possibly can. As soon as the window open and you could offer them a max contract, you give it to them.

Speaker 7 A 24-year-old Shaq,

Speaker 7 and well, we see what happened when

Speaker 7 he went to the Lakers. But normally, guys like Luca

Speaker 7 don't get traded unless they ask to get traded. Kareem asked to get traded.
Kareem was a three-time league MVP. He was a finals MVP.
He had gone to the finals.

Speaker 7 He had won the scoring title.

Speaker 7 He wanted to get out of Milwaukee. They obliged him.

Speaker 7 Guys, this age, this skilled, this talented, this dominant, you're not just moving them on your own volition.

Speaker 7 Doesn't happen. Not at this age.
Now, it comes a time we saw AI get traded, but AI wasn't 25. And AI

Speaker 7 didn't ask to get traded, but you know, the organization thought it was in the best interest, thought some of the things that were going on off the court, and they moved on from AI.

Speaker 7 But 25-year-old AI, they ain't moving it.

Speaker 7 you

Speaker 7 and so uh i i'm understand but i

Speaker 11 no i was saying you understand the product you understand the product that you're getting

Speaker 11 i also i this i you i used a scenario last night

Speaker 11 american gangster

Speaker 11 denzel washington cubing gooden jr there's nothing wrong with blue magic you got blue magic why are you touching it

Speaker 11 Why are you touching it? There's nothing wrong with it. It's perfectly fine, just how it is.
The product sells itself. itself luca is the product it sells itself

Speaker 11 why are you why are you touching it what

Speaker 11 are we doing a player of his magnitude you know what all the hookah all the beer god damn it you've been part of the nba gms presidents managers you understand everybody drink

Speaker 11 everybody smoke Everybody does some things, some extra cricket things outside of that as well.

Speaker 7 But we ain't trading them.

Speaker 11 Especially talking about this is for long-term, long-term what?

Speaker 7 Lucas ain't walking through that door.

Speaker 7 And if they, if they, if they were,

Speaker 7 if Luca, if Lucas were walking through that door, I mean, a lot of a lot of other teams would have success a lot more frequently.

Speaker 7 Come on, man. Luca is not a generational talent.
Luca is a transcendent talent. Because a generation, a generation is 20 years.

Speaker 7 You guys don't come along.

Speaker 7 This is transcendent.

Speaker 7 He's

Speaker 7 and for me, Ocho,

Speaker 7 if I'm Patrick Dumont, if I'm anybody, Nicole Harrison, if I'm anybody in the Mavericks organization, I am not going to talk about this because all you do, stirring old poop, it still stinks.

Speaker 7 All you do is peel the scab off a wound that's still very fresh, but it's starting to scab over you just rip the scab off and got to start this thing all over again because all the fans heard is like man this man trick i can't believe this man and did you hear what he's saying that's what the fans are thinking did you hear what he's saying he's talking about long-term goal

Speaker 7 we just went to the nb and finally lying to yourself

Speaker 11 you're lying to yourself

Speaker 7 yeah But if I'm them, I'm done talking about this.

Speaker 7 This subject, Ocho.

Speaker 7 I'm not bringing it up no more, Ocho. Because

Speaker 7 I can't, there is nothing there's no win at some point in time you got to come to the conclusion ocho there is nothing you can say

Speaker 7 even if you were to win a title people like you know what people gonna say we could have won a title with luca

Speaker 11 who's to say who's to say we wouldn't have won that title with luca ojo yeah But you know, he won't have to worry about that because they're not going to be able to win a title.

Speaker 7 Ojo, the pain did not stop there for Dallas. Southwest Airline, after 54 years, decided to up there their check bag policy, and now they're charging customers by throwing shade at the labs.

Speaker 7 It's not like we traded Luca. That's a good one.
That's a good one.

Speaker 11 That's a great one. Great business is all about advertising.

Speaker 11 How do we grasp the viewing eye and make them say, oh, that was good.

Speaker 7 You know what?

Speaker 11 I want to fly with them. Despite them changing the policy and finally having to pay for bags.
That was so clever. I'm going to fly with Southwest just because.

Speaker 11 I mean, I'm not changing, you know,

Speaker 11 my love for

Speaker 11 Spirit Airlines, but that was the Google. That was great advertising.
I don't know who came up with that. It was short, quick, and to the point.
Perfect scenario.

Speaker 7 Because the thing is, Ocho is that, you know, there are certain things that are catchy. Like the state farm, like Flow with Progressive, like Allstate with Mayhem, like Budweiser.
Yeah. yeah

Speaker 7 bud why you know what i'm saying the clysdales remember the clisdales commercial with the the the horses and the dogs and so forth and so on that's what he wanted to be

Speaker 11 hey i don't know who that all state that uh mayhem commercials

Speaker 11 but he's classic i don't know who's behind the creative directing on but he is that's classic oh that's

Speaker 2 right

Speaker 7 Jake from State Farm, Mayhem from All State, Flo from Progressive. Really?

Speaker 7 they're synonymous we i mean i don't know what what flow is going to do hey you remember the windows commercial with grandma where's the beef

Speaker 7 yeah you remember that

Speaker 7 yeah

Speaker 7 uh so in this situation right here i mean look

Speaker 7 this is

Speaker 7 maybe over time because eventually you know 20 30 years from now people will remember

Speaker 7 walkie traded kareem

Speaker 7 you don't remember that people think kareem played his whole whole career in L.A. He didn't.
He didn't.

Speaker 7 That happens.

Speaker 7 It definitely happens. And, you know, it's like, and he was homegrown.

Speaker 7 We took a young kid out of Slovenia.

Speaker 7 Not extremely, terribly athletic. He doesn't jump very high.
He doesn't run very fast. He doesn't run very fast.
All I know, he puts the ball in the basket at an elite level.

Speaker 7 He has the third highest scoring average in NBA history, only behind Michael Jordan,

Speaker 11 Wilt Chamberlain, and it's Luca Duncan. History.

Speaker 7 History. He has the second highest scoring average in playoff history behind one Michael Jordan.

Speaker 7 They're not going to forget that soon over time.

Speaker 7 Yeah. You know, we forget a lot of stuff over time.

Speaker 7 That's just the way the human mind is after a while, but it ain't happening anytime soon.

Speaker 7 And because anything that he does, you know, people are going to go back. And plus, we got internet.

Speaker 7 Maybe it'd have been different if Kareem came up in an era where you had internet and you had 24-hour news cycles and people talk sports all the time, 24 hours a day, 365. Maybe it would be different.

Speaker 7 But sports is different now than what it was back then, Ocho. It's vastly different because

Speaker 7 the way we cover it, the way we talk about it, the way we consume it.

Speaker 7 And with all that being said,

Speaker 7 people are going to be mad in Dallas at the Maverick for a long ass time.

Speaker 11 He's not going to make it no easier on his end playing the way he's playing.

Speaker 11 When LeBron comes back and they continue to have success together on the court, it's going to always be brought up over and over and over and over.

Speaker 7 This is who they traded.

Speaker 7 Hey, but don't let that take,

Speaker 7 don't lose sight of that i understand y'all didn't trade luca but y'all charging for check bags now so let's let's let's let's let's keep the focus on the focus i get it it's very uh catchy it's not like we traded luca but y'all charging money for those bags and i remember when it first instituted a charging for check bags

Speaker 7 i was like man everybody like that ain't gonna last long that ain't gonna last long people gonna stop flying okay well how you gonna get from california to florida you gonna fly how you gonna get from new york to south california exactly

Speaker 7 you gonna fly? Hell no.

Speaker 7 So, and guess what?

Speaker 7 What normally happens is that when one airline does something, what does everybody else do? Oh, follow right behind.

Speaker 7 Follow right behind because

Speaker 11 you got to make it up for a reason.

Speaker 11 They charge you for check bags for a reason. You got to make money.
This is a business, no matter how you see it.

Speaker 7 And think about the money because think about it, Ocho. They give you one, and then they charge you if the bag is over certain weight.

Speaker 7 Yeah.

Speaker 7 They charge charge you what a what how much is it a dollar a pound for real

Speaker 11 yeah

Speaker 11 i do my best i do my best regardless of how long i'm going somewhere to always take a carry-on or take a carry-on and a duffel i try not to take suitcases i try to do the same thing but sometimes

Speaker 7 when you're traveling when you travel in eight cities in 10 days sometimes No, you got to do what you got to do.

Speaker 11 Wait a minute. Wait a minute.

Speaker 10 Wait, wait, wait, wait, one minute.

Speaker 11 Now, listen, you can always use my method a method i've been using for a very long time it's very it's it's cost efficient and it works going from city to city now if you got what how many did you say eight cities in 10 days now if you got eight cities in 10 days what you have to understand is all you have to do is take three pairs of shoes use the same outfit have a bunch of underwear tank tops and t-shirts always change but use the same outfit but change your shoes after each city because the outfit resets itself so if you're in chicago on monday and you got to go to get you got to go to, say, let's say LA on Tuesday, all you do is wear the same outfit, but change your shoes and the outfit resets itself based on a different location.

Speaker 7 So that's staying having to pack multiple outfits.

Speaker 11 Now, that's just something I do

Speaker 11 and still do to this day, especially when you have to do things back to back to back and you having to do signings and appearances for La Poitier.

Speaker 7 Okay, well, man,

Speaker 7 you think I can wear shorts and tank top in Connecticut and

Speaker 11 Chicago right now hey uh all you need all you need is a little jacket you could put a little jacket in your duffel real quick boom you good or hoodie you ain't you don't need much you used to the cold you played in denver you played in baltimore

Speaker 7 boy that was 20 years ago

Speaker 11 i'm just trying to save you on on your traveling expenses not only expenses but being able to travel efficient and light two pairs yeah

Speaker 11 Same sweatsuit. Matter of fact, you have a black sweatsuit and a gray one.

Speaker 11 And those are interchangeable and you just change the shoes a pair of white air force ones and a pair of black ones

Speaker 7 i got white air force ones and that's it it go with everything see

Speaker 7 that's why the outfits probably the outfits i don't know they probably stand up in the corner by themselves when i take them off

Speaker 7 it works though it works it works yeah

Speaker 7 Yeah,

Speaker 7 I hate going to, I just want to come out the airport and hop right into the car

Speaker 7 and I'm off. I don't want to stand around bagging claim.
And

Speaker 2 I mean, look,

Speaker 7 fans,

Speaker 7 I want to say this:

Speaker 7 if you see a person standing around baggage claim,

Speaker 7 don't ask them what they're doing.

Speaker 7 If I see you standing around baggage claim, what do you think? I think you're doing on Joe waiting on my bag.

Speaker 7 What are you doing here?

Speaker 7 Yeah,

Speaker 7 I came to get some crabs.

Speaker 11 He's just trying to start a little conversation, really not knowing.

Speaker 7 Hey, how you doing? Hey, hey, Ocho, how you doing, man? I be watching Nightcap, man.

Speaker 7 Y'all be going crazy, man. Y'all be going hell with that thing.
I love that show. You know, I love it.
Bro, don't come on. People be nervous.

Speaker 11 You got to understand that people be nervous.

Speaker 2 Oh, Lord, have mercy.

Speaker 7 I told you the dude asked me I was in the strip joint, man. What you doing here? Same thing you do here.
Look at that hoo-ha. That's what I'm doing here.
That's what what you do here. What the hell?

Speaker 7 What you think I'm doing? Ain't no basket, ain't no sporting back going on. Right, right, right, right.

Speaker 11 So, you there for the hoo-ha and the wings, huh?

Speaker 7 Yeah, come on, bro.

Speaker 7 Yeah, man. Hey, yeah, yeah, man.
Hey, man, y'all, man, I've been watching you with TV, bro. This is not the time.

Speaker 7 You try to distract me. Hey,

Speaker 7 yeah, man.

Speaker 7 honey on the stage, bro. I ain't trying to hear nothing about no TV.

Speaker 7 I'm looking at honey right now. That's what I'm looking at.

Speaker 7 Amber.

Speaker 11 Amber up next.

Speaker 7 Let's come into the stage one.

Speaker 11 Stage three, devastation.

Speaker 7 Yeah, honey, love.

Speaker 11 You ain't never seen devastation. You never seen the devastation?

Speaker 11 Yeah,

Speaker 11 it's one named devastation, boy. She's known worldwide.

Speaker 11 They call it

Speaker 2 chocolate, caramel, yam

Speaker 7 Mercedes.

Speaker 7 Oh, that's throwback. Let's throw back.

Speaker 3 This is Rob Gronkowski from Dudes on Dudes with Gronk and Jules. For the second season in a row, I partnered with T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights, powering up hometown football across America.

Speaker 3 This year, T-Mobile invested over $4 million in prizes to help schools take their Friday nights to the next level. The votes are in.
And now, it's time to crown our $1 million grand prize winner.

Speaker 3 Congratulations to Derricks High School in Derricks, Arkansas, home of the Outlaws and your 2025 T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights Champion.

Speaker 3 The Outlaws and their community rallied to help them score a game-changing home field upgrade, a Granc fitness weight room makeover, an epic 2026 tailgate party, and a VIP trip to the SEC championship game.

Speaker 3 To every school that competed, posted, and rallied your communities, thank you. And to T-Mobile for making it all possible.
This season may be over, but the story isn't.

Speaker 3 Stay tuned for season three in 2026.

Speaker 3 Congratulations again to Derek's High School Outlaws.

Speaker 13 Run a business and not thinking about radio? Think again. Because more people are listening to the radio and iHeart today than they were 20 years ago.

Speaker 13 And only iHeart Broadcast Radio connects with more Americans than TV, digital, social, any other media. Even twice as many teens than TikTok.
And that reach means everything.

Speaker 13 Just think about the universal marketing formula. The number of consumers who hear your message times the response rate equals the results.
Now let's get those results growing for your business.

Speaker 13 Radio's here now more than ever, and iHeart's leading the way. Think radio can help your business?

Speaker 2 Think iHeart.

Speaker 13 Streaming, podcasting, and radio, where the reach is real. Let us show you at iHeartAdvertising.com.
That's iHeartAdvertising.com.

Speaker 14 Or call 844-844-i-Heart.

Speaker 13 One more time, just call 844-844-i-Heart and get radio working for you.

Speaker 5 If one of us wins, would we all win?

Speaker 4 I'm Ashley Reitfeld, and I'm the host of the Women's Skateboarding Podcast. Good luck with that.

Speaker 4 Good luck with that is a skateboarding podcast that is part cultural record, part news brief, mostly group therapy, and a place to talk about the past, present, and future of women and gender expansive skateboarding.

Speaker 4 This week, me and my co-hosts, Nora Vasconcelos and Alex White, we have Babiana Delfina on the show, a professional skateboarder from Florida whose grip was forged in a family of athletes.

Speaker 4 Tune in to hear how she broke into the boys' club, what it takes to be pro, and why just being grateful you're here shouldn't be the the price of entry.

Speaker 15 Maybe the industry thinks that we just started skating five years ago because that's when they maybe started paying attention.

Speaker 4 It's a no-fluff conversation about putting in the years, stacking clips and receipts, and still having to prove your worth while the industry catches up.

Speaker 5 You break down the door, sick, now like hold the door for everyone.

Speaker 4 We created good luck with that because we want to share our experience of existing in an industry that wasn't always built for everyone.

Speaker 4 So listen to good luck with that on iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 8 For 25 years, I've explored what it means to heal, not just for myself, but alongside others. I'm Mike De La Rocha.
This is Sacred Lessons, a space for reflection, growth, and collective healing.

Speaker 8 What do you tell men that are hurting right now? Everything's gonna be okay on the other side, you know, just push through it. And, you know, ironically, the root of the word spirit is breath.

Speaker 2 Wow.

Speaker 8 Which is why one of the most revolutionary acts that we can do as people is just breathe.

Speaker 2 Next to the wound is their gifts.

Speaker 8 You can't even find your gifts unless you go through the wound. That's the hard thing.
You think, well, I'm going to get my gifts. I don't want to go through all that.

Speaker 8 You got to go through the wounds you left. Listening to other people's near-death experiences, and that's all they say.
In conclusion, love is the answer.

Speaker 10 Listen to Sacred Lessons as part of the My Gutura Podcast Network.

Speaker 7 The Bucs beat the Lakers by 20, 126 to 106. That's three, three straight losses.
The three teams behind them in the standings are all riding Winning Street. Houston, four games.

Speaker 7 Golden State, five games. Minnesota, six games.
Big trip tomorrow to end the road trip in Denver back to back.

Speaker 7 The Lakers wasted an outstanding, an outstanding performance by Luca Doncic.

Speaker 7 Luca is the youngest Laker to play,

Speaker 7 the youngest Lakers player to have 45 points, 10 rebounds in a game since 1962.

Speaker 7 Oh, 45. Magic had, what did Magic have in that playoff game, Ash?

Speaker 7 Was it 42? He might have had 42. But anyway, he's the youngest Laker to have 45 points, 10 rebounds in a game since 1962.

Speaker 7 The problem tonight, Richo, was the guys that can score, they don't really defend very well. Luca and AR.
Guys that can defend can't score the ball.

Speaker 7 Finney Smith, Vanderbilt, that's the issue that you had.

Speaker 7 Luca played. Luca and AR played extremely well.

Speaker 7 Nobody else did much. And that's the problem that you're going to have.
They got crushed on the Magic half 42-15. Okay.

Speaker 7 The Lakers shot 44% from the floor. They allowed Milwaukee to shoot 48.
They shot 38% from the three. They allowed the Bucs to shoot 43.
Turnovers

Speaker 7 wasn't that vast. 14 for the Lakers, 12 for the Bucs.
They did get out rebounded by 10 on the offensive glass. But look, and that's the problem that you're going to have right now.
They're scrambling.

Speaker 7 They're undersized. Like I said again, and I don't like to beat a dead horse, but I don't know why they signed Alex Lynn.

Speaker 7 I mean, he's big for no reason.

Speaker 7 I mean, probably God thinking, like, man, if I knew you was going to be like this, I wouldn't have given you all this. Like, it ain't no sense of you.
Ain't no sense of you.

Speaker 7 Pretty soon he's about to be the tallest coach ever.

Speaker 7 That's where he headed. That's his next occupation, Ocho.

Speaker 11 I don't want to talk bad about him.

Speaker 11 Maybe he just hasn't come into his own yet. Maybe he's lacking a little bit of confidence, having that type of size, that type of length.

Speaker 11 And to be playing in the NBA, you have to be of some type of use. You know, I haven't seen it yet.

Speaker 7 He's simple.

Speaker 11 listen i i i know i saw for myself no jackson hayes tonight no lebron no rule i think the game would have been a little bit more competitive obviously if uh the lakers was healthy obviously luca did all he could do but as you said those that score can't play defense and those who play defense they can't goddamn score so not having lebron his his his hurt I think it's going to be like this for the next week or two until he can get himself back back in health.

Speaker 11 Luke is going to have to do his best. Luke's going to have to do his best and carry the load as much as he can.
And hopefully,

Speaker 11 you know, the supporting cash can have nights. Those that can score can have nights when they're on and be a little bit more efficient and pick up the slack, being that LeBron is not there.

Speaker 7 You look at Luca. They scored 106 points, Ocho.
Luca gave you 45. Austin Reed gave you 28.
That's 70. That's crazy.

Speaker 7 They got 33.

Speaker 7 One, two, three, four, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. The nine other players scored 33 points.
One guy scored 10.

Speaker 7 So that means they got 23 from the other eight.

Speaker 7 And now

Speaker 7 you look at the Bucs. Giannis was assisted away from a triple-double, 24, 12, and 9.
Brooke Lopez, 23. Dane, 22.
Kevin Porter Jr., 22. Gary Trent Jr., 16.

Speaker 7 When you get that kind of production, when you get that kind of ballot scoring, and the scoring is so lopsided on the other side, well, that's kind of what you're going to get.

Speaker 7 You're going to get a situation where you get blown out. And like we said, we were talking about it at the top, Ocho.
Those that can score don't defend.

Speaker 7 Those that can't, those that can defend can't score. So what do you do?

Speaker 7 I mean, they would have literally had to play a perfect game.

Speaker 7 Luca and Luca and AR give you what they gave you, but other guys are going to have to knock down shots. I mean, Luca can't play any better.

Speaker 7 I mean, some of the shots that he was hitting, you're like, damn. Damn.
And they got the game within, what, two, three?

Speaker 7 And next thing you know, the Bucs go on a 10-0 run or a 12-0 run and push it back to 14. The Lakers claw it back.
They go on a 15, 15, 2, 15, 3 run and push it back out. And then the Lakers could get

Speaker 7 no closer than that. It's just

Speaker 7 LeBron could not have, and it's not his fault. So I don't want people to say, oh, Shredded like he could help.
But LeBron's injury could not have come at a worse time, Cocho.

Speaker 7 This is, I mean, they were playing extremely well. and and then he gets hurt

Speaker 7 now what do you do and i said this at the time i do not believe they're going to be in second place they're not going to be in second place they got to hope they can hold this thing off and not get not get into play in which is seven through ten because they got an uphill climb they got the nuggets tomorrow

Speaker 7 They got the nuggets, the nuggets tomorrow. Now, Brooke Lopez had 23.
What the hell you think Yoke gonna do?

Speaker 11 Well, listen, it don't matter who Yoke playing. He gonna get 29.30 each night, regardless.

Speaker 11 Listen, Yoke would be playing the goddamn five disciples on the court.

Speaker 7 He gonna score.

Speaker 11 He's gonna get his points no matter what. For some reason, I wouldn't be surprised.

Speaker 11 I wouldn't be surprised as Greg, as good as Denver's been playing all year long, and despite the Lakers not having LeBron, watch they shock you tomorrow.

Speaker 11 For some reason, watch the Lakers shock you tomorrow and just so happen to stumble up on a win despite LeBron not playing. Luca's probably gonna have another good game.
AR probably.

Speaker 7 Luca need to go for 70. Luca would need to go for 70.
AR need to go for 35. And then the other guys need to go for 30.

Speaker 11 And you know what,

Speaker 11 don't be surprised it happened. I'm not saying it because

Speaker 11 I'm saying it. I'm just saying the way sports goes in general, for some reason, it always happens like that.

Speaker 11 They've lost three. And all of a sudden, they play Denver.
You expect them to lose, especially those that like to gamble. They mess around and win tomorrow night.
Watch. Now watch what I tell you.

Speaker 7 Had they not gotten blown out last night by Minnesota. I might have agreed with you, Ocho.
I might have agreed with you.

Speaker 7 But because they got blown out at home by Minnesota, I don't see that happening. Mike Malone will have them very focused.
That left a nasty taste in their mouth. They know

Speaker 7 what I, I mean, they let Ant Man go off.

Speaker 7 Julio, Jew Randall went off, and they got beat by almost 20. at on their home court.
They'll be fired up. That crowd will be rocking.

Speaker 7 And if you know, if you watch this team over the last four to five years, they get up like no other.

Speaker 7 They get up to play the Lakers. The Lakers are everybody's championship.
I mean, especially the Nuggets. Some teams you get up to play for, like now it's Kansas City.
It used to be the Patriots.

Speaker 7 Everybody played their best when they played the Cowboys.

Speaker 7 That's what the Lakers are up against now. And I expect the Nuggets to put their best foot forward.

Speaker 7 I expect them to play some of their best ball because they are ticked off that they let Minnesota come in there and do what they did to them last night.

Speaker 2 Oh, man. But

Speaker 7 yeah, it's tough. I mean, and they were playing so well, Ocho.
The Lakers had been playing extremely well. Luca and LeBron had started to figure it out.
Luca was going to have the ball in his hand.

Speaker 7 LeBron was going to dive and slash to the basket, going to get to the post-up. He posted up at the top of the key.
He posted up on the side. Now he can see over.

Speaker 7 The assist totals were really high because you got two of the best passers in NBA history with the ball in their hands, a large part.

Speaker 7 AR taking a little pressure off AR because now your two best defenders got to guard LeBron and Luca. So now AR is getting your third or fourth best defender.
He's going to do what he does.

Speaker 7 So everything had really, really started to

Speaker 7 go well.

Speaker 7 And then

Speaker 7 just like that.

Speaker 11 You know, it's funny. Honestly, it's pretty the same thing that happened to Dallas.

Speaker 7 You know, everybody quested the trade.

Speaker 11 They look good. They look decent for a little bit.
80 goes down. Okay, we still got Kyrie.
We got something to live off of. We got some hope.

Speaker 11 We still got a superstar that can put busts in the seats to at least get the viewers' attention.

Speaker 7 He goes down.

Speaker 7 Bam.

Speaker 11 So the Lakers look like the trade that they had, it was winning.

Speaker 7 LeBron playing well.

Speaker 11 Luca playing well. They going on a winning streak.
Luca showing flashes of what he used to be. Then he's scoring 30.

Speaker 11 He cutting the food. LeBron cutting the food.
Some of the presses off of him. He don't have to bring the ball up to court.
He can play freely, take over a game when he wants to.

Speaker 7 Now he goes down.

Speaker 7 Hey,

Speaker 11 it's sports, baby. That's what makes the game so beautiful.

Speaker 2 Yeah.

Speaker 7 Sometimes, Ocho,

Speaker 7 you got to laugh to keep from crying. Man, that's a good one right there, boy.
That's a good one. You got to laugh to keep from the cross.

Speaker 7 You know who the Lakers use right now?

Speaker 11 Who averaged a triple-double in high school?

Speaker 7 Nobody. Ain't nobody out there can help the Lakers right now.

Speaker 11 Boy, you ain't never seen me put the ball on the floor now.

Speaker 11 Boy, you never seen my Nick Rains game, huh? You ain't never seen me come off the pick and roll and pull up.

Speaker 2 Man, don't play that.

Speaker 7 Oh, so you could pick and pop?

Speaker 11 I could pick and pop, boy.

Speaker 11 I could pick and pop better than the stripper.

Speaker 11 I'll tell you, no lie.

Speaker 7 That's, yeah, it's,

Speaker 7 like I said, you look at Houston's playing well. You look at Minnesota's playing well.
Golden State's playing well since the addition of Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 7 The Lakers were, and as good as those teams were playing, the Lakers were playing better. But it just so happens sometimes injuries happen at the most inopportune times.

Speaker 7 And hopefully you have a team that's good enough to overcome that can keep the ship steady. until said player comes back or said play urge come back, but in this case, it's really one.

Speaker 7 Yeah, we'd love to get Rui back. We'd love to get Jackson Hayes Hayes back.

Speaker 7 But the one guy that you could ill afford to lose is LeBron James, because he's a guy that does a lot of what kind of like when you got here and Luca, you know, they're going to give you 50 to 60 points between the two of them.

Speaker 7 They're going to give you somewhere between 18 and 20 rebounds between the two of them. And they're going to probably give you 20 assists between the two of them.
So you count, you can count on that.

Speaker 7 Now, Austin Reeves gives you what he gives you, which is somewhere between 18 and 20 points

Speaker 7 on a nightly basis. Rui chips in and gives you his 14.

Speaker 7 Now, whatever whatever we get from

Speaker 7 Finney Smith, whatever we get from Gabe Benson, we take it. We know Jackson Hayes is going to roll,

Speaker 7 give us some second chance opportunities. We know he's going to roll to the basket, dive to the basket, catch a couple of lobs, get a couple of putbacks.

Speaker 7 Right now, we don't really have that. We don't have that.
We don't have a big. We're playing undersized.
Giannis is just getting whatever he wants, getting to the basket.

Speaker 7 Brooke Lopez getting offensive rebounds, getting whatever he wants. So it was really a tough night.

Speaker 7 The effort,

Speaker 7 I don't think JJ is going to be really pleased with the effort. There's a lot of times Kevin Porter Jr.
hit three, I think, three straight threes

Speaker 7 in the third quarter.

Speaker 7 I mean, wide open, shoot around threes.

Speaker 7 Can't have that.

Speaker 7 They've got to be better. They've got to be locked in, and guys got to know their responsibility

Speaker 7 and close out without fouling. And they got to get the ball once the ball goes up.
Your job is not done once the guy misses the shot.

Speaker 7 Your job is done once you grab the rebound. Because if he misses the shot, you don't grab the rebound.
What have you actually done? It's kind of like, oh, Joe, you and I talk about on third down.

Speaker 7 You get a team to third down. If you can't get them off the field, what good is getting them to third down?

Speaker 11 None.

Speaker 11 Listen, if they get a third down and they

Speaker 7 keep doing it, they're going to get the ball to the end of the day. That's demoralizing.

Speaker 11 That's demoralizing, huh?

Speaker 7 Yes.

Speaker 7 It's extremely demoralizing. But

Speaker 7 the Lakers got to find a way to do something.

Speaker 7 And I don't know if, like I said, LeBron is probably going to be out for at least another week. Probably the earliest you can expect to see LeBron James is probably next weekend.

Speaker 7 And there's a good chance, Ocho, they can be in the seventh or the eighth spot by the end.

Speaker 11 They really are. Unless something drastically happened.
Like I said, especially starting tomorrow night, they just happen to win, even though you say how teams get up to play the Lakers.

Speaker 11 I just have a feeling just with understanding of how sports work, regardless of what regards what the sport is whether it be soccer whether it be football whether it be basketball tennis whatever it's just for some reason where things are when you think about a team that's playing they're not playing well they have a star that's gone

Speaker 11 for some reason the team always plays well against a team that you just know they're going to lose to and they just surprise you i really have a feeling i don't know why So people out there, if you're a gambler, I really would pick the Lakers to win tomorrow, despite it being Denver, despite what Joker and Murray are doing.

Speaker 11 I just think so.

Speaker 7 Yeah,

Speaker 7 I might pick the Lakers if it was somebody else's money, but if it's my money, I'm not picking the Lakers because I value my money a little bit more than that.

Speaker 7 But that being said, we'll see what happens. I mean, hey,

Speaker 7 Milwaukee, you know, you're going to get in late tonight to Denver and you got to, you know, you got to shoot around tomorrow.

Speaker 7 And then, you know, you go back, get your nap, and then hopefully, you know, you put your best foot forward and see what happens. But

Speaker 7 I'm not overly

Speaker 7 confident that they're going to be able to pull this out.
