You know, these crazy things that have been going on in the media and the celebrity world.

I want your expert opinion.

And then we're going to talk a little bit about your career.

So because Father's Day Day was on Sunday, I think we all saw the picture that Jayla posted of her lovely husband Ben Affleck, ripped, no shirt on.

Your opinion: is it TMI?

Is it too much, or do you think you know he's hot?

Go for it.

I don't think it's TMI, I think it was important

because

there's a reason Jennifer Lopez, after all these years, is still an A-lister, still talked about as much as she does.

And that reason is her work ethic.

She puts in the effort.

She works at being famous.

And to continue to be as famous as she is, you have to put content out there all the time, like the Kardashians do.

So it was just another piece of content that she knew would get people talking.

And Ben Affleck clearly loves it as well.

So, you think he loves it?

Because that's a little controversial.

Because sometimes we see him at events and everything around time.

He seems a little uncomfortable with the situation.

You think he's game for everything she's doing?

He absolutely loved it and loves it.

Because, first of all, specifically with Jennifer, he knew what he was signing up for when he got back together with her.

He already previewed Bennifer 1.0 nearly 20 years ago.

And

before that, his most recent relationship was with a Cuban actress named Ana de Armas.

And he also was very public with her, too.

So

he wants us to believe that he doesn't like it, but he loves it.

He's loving it.

So do you think this marriage is going to last?

Do you think that's it?

That's, you know, like gambling.

It's roulette.

It's red or black.

It's 50-50.

I would say those are the odds.

Now, since you mentioned the Kardashians, we have to go to the next huge news that just happened a few days ago.

Courtney puts this sign during the concert and says, I'm pregnant.

Now, do you really, do you believe, in your opinion, do you believe that he didn't know?

Well, he absolutely knew.

I mean, if you look at photos that Courtney has shared after that public announcement, it's apparent that she's very far along.

Yes.

That's quite a noticeable baby book.

It wasn't announcing it to him.

It was announcing it to the world on her own terms, which I respect.

You know, she didn't do it on the TV show.

She did it.

making the focus all about her husband at his concert, his

everything,

and drawing attention to that, which you know, I think is a way for Courtney to say, I love you so much.

I'm gonna make this all about you.

I like the way you put the positive spin on it because, of course, she's getting a ton of criticism online for, like, oh, he knew already, you already have so much money, you already have the husband, la la la, you have the TV shows, maybe you should keep something private to yourself.

But you think it's cool, like, you think she did the right thing

i think she did keep it private for a while and it got to a point where she's clearly showing so she felt like she had to make the public announcement yeah i know i i i actually think it was sweet and nice but honestly i made a comment i don't know one of the news sources asked me and i said to me i i kind of feel that your life should get to a point that you're so famous you have so much money you have so much going on i would kind of want to keep a few things to myself.

And they're obviously like this major marketing and media machine.

Do you think there is ever a point that is too much, or as long as the audience is loving it, keep doing it?

I mean, that's a great question.

And

I would draw a parallel between the Kardashians and Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift

also

gives her fans and the public too much,

but smartly, she's worked very hard at keeping the focus all about her music and her art with

little glimpses of relationship issues or drama or whatever it may be.

But, you know, she's got a song out that was from an album that came out four years ago.

She's releasing another album next month.

It's like so much, but it seems like the public has an insatiable insatiable appetite.

And with the Kardashians,

they also are aware of what Jennifer Lopez knows.

It's one of the reasons why they've kept the TV show going for as long as they have.

They need to feed the machine.

They need to keep giving the people

variety, which is what's made them successful, really.

It's what helped them overtake Paris Hilton.

Because you remember 20 years ago, nobody knew who Kim Kardashian was 20 years ago in 2003,

but everybody knew who Paris Hilton was.

But unfortunately, Paris's sister, Mickey Hilton, she wasn't as hungry or thirsty as Courtney and Chloe.

She didn't want to play the game the way that the Kardashians did.

And that strength in numbers is what really helped the Kardashians because when the public grew bored of or just needed a break from one of the sisters another one came came out with something crazy and shocking and drama and it's just the never-ending cycle of

a real-life soap opera with them yes I think and actually wasn't like way like now that you mentioned way back then I used to follow the news through you because you were like the pioneer in this field wasn't she uh the stylist or something of Paris, a bunch of celebrities here in LA?

That's how she started, right?

King Kardashi.

She was working helping Paris organize her closet.

Wow.

See?

Celebrity history right there.

Unbelievable how it turns around.

Oh my God.

And now Paris is a lot more private.

I mean, I wouldn't say she's a lot more private.

Less public.

She's just not as relevant, but she's still an icon.

Yeah.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Totally.

icon just not as relevant yeah she's got another season of her reality TV show so she's also feeding the machine that people aren't as invested as they used to be there you go moving on because we have a lot to I want to cover scandal

let's talk about that for a minute I was absolutely shocked I wanted to cry I wanted to throw up I do not understand how in the world somebody behaves like that just you know i mean they weren't dating tom and aria not weren't dating for like a minute they were dating for almost a decade so how can you be such a pig what's your take on that do you feel sorry for raquel do you think they deserve all this horrible fleck they're getting what what what is your opinion

i do have empathy for raquel

it doesn't excuse her behavior but Her age helps to explain it.

She is a lot younger than all of the other cast members on that show.

And some would argue that Tom took advantage of her.

That he

there are even some rumors, and the allegations have been made public that drugs may have been involved.

And

think now that some time has passed,

Ariana

should thank Tom Sandoval.

I know.

He has made her

millions of dollars in the last few months.

She's done so many commercials and brand deals and has elevated herself to maybe B-list.

Whereas she was a D-lister before, now she's on the B-list.

Well, but yeah, she's laughing all the way to the bank now, right?

So it was a blessing and major disguise.

Raquel, Rachel, she, unfortunately, I don't think is thanking Tom.

has had a hard time dealing with everything.

That's why she's been in a treatment facility for over two months.

For the people that haven't heard about it, they had some kind of a deal for a podcast with Spotify.

The top guy at Spotify goes out, like they canceled the deal.

They were called Grifters, I think, right?

It's a big mess.

Obviously, she's the one.

We have that joke that every little girl in the world dreams of marrying a prince.

She's the one that marries the prince and makes him become the non-prince.

Then they complain about the media in England.

They move to the eye of the hurricane of the media in the United States and they keep saying that they don't want attention, la la la la la.

Total chaos.

What's your take on it?

What do you think about them?

Well, I think a lot of people

place blame on her,

and I don't believe that that's accurate.

Prince Harry was never happy being the spare.

He was never

content

working within the system of the firm.

So I fully respect and understand his decision to step away because he's an adult and he wanted to call his own shots and not be told what to do by this institution.

That makes total sense to me.

And what they've done since then also makes total sense to me because now like you mentioned they live in the United States and they are nothing to us here right we are not part of the commonwealth we are not their subjects they are not royals to us they are celebrities and

like any celebrity in the United States you need to be creating content and monetizing your celebrity and making sure that you're working at maintaining your celebrity so that your monetization of that is as high as possible.

Because it is also a lot, if not all, about money.

You know, so many of his decisions and her decisions over the last three years have been financially motivated.

Yeah.

Which they should be.

You know, you straight away.

I agree.

Yeah.

It must be tough for her to come back to her country and

get so much criticism from everyone, right?

So yeah, give her a break, right?

Yeah, I don't dislike her.

I don't think I like her either.

I'm fine about her.

Now, the idea, have you watched it with The Weekend and Lily Depp?

I have not watched it, but

I feel like I've watched it because I've watched so many reviews on social media of people roasting

and just critiquing and shredding the show to pieces.

Yeah, I watched it and I'm gonna say I loved it.

I know the media is trashing them.

It's very risque.

I think the scenes are very hot.

It's a little dark.

I think it's fantastic.

He's one of the show creators or producers.

I'm not sure.

They're filming the show literally at his real house here in Beverly Bel Air.

I don't know if you know that.

So I think, and I think it's interesting because it's her first major acting job, right?

And I mean, they're destroying her as an actress, and it's a really tough part.

So, I mean, what do you say?

Do you?

Because obviously, she's young and she's the daughter of one of the biggest stars on the planet.

Should the critics give her a little break in that sense, or do you think it's fair game?

I think it's fair game

because

I didn't even mention the critics.

Who cares about the critics?

It's what everyday people are saying.

People making videos and posting it on TikTok, on Instagram, and sharing their thoughts.

And that's what I've been watching.

And

those everyday people,

you're not going to tell them to be quiet.

They're going to say what they think.

Yes.

And they have been.

But at the end of the day, you know, it kind of goes back to what I said earlier I believe that

you know like Jennifer Lopez

so long as you're getting people talking you're winning that's the win even if they're criticizing you you're still winning they think they're hurting you but they're only helping I completely agree with you.

And it's interesting that you said that because let's talk about you for a minute.

For people that don't know, if you live under a rock if you don't follow celebrity entertainment you started in this industry you started covering celebrities a very long time ago like way before we had Instagram way before most people were doing it you have to have crazy thick skin in this industry right because like you said people no matter what you do somebody's gonna say something bad about you how do you survive for so long and now obviously you're thriving you're insanely successful you have so many great projects going on.

People really respect you.

I honestly, I adore you.

I think I'm a huge fan.

I think your work is phenomenal because I know it's not easy.

Any pointers?

Can you tell us, like, how do you, you grow that thick skin?

How do you survive in this industry for so long?

Well, you look at it like currency, right?

If you view...

a negative if you view any comments as if they were worth money let's say i post a video or a photo, something that's very relatable.

Like women, a lot of times on Instagram will post a photo of what they're wearing if they think they look cute, okay?

And let's say a hater or a troll or whomever, or just somebody who doesn't like me, sees that photo and says, you look hideous.

You make me want to vomit.

That comment is worth $100.

But if somebody sees that same photo and says, you look so cute that comment's worth two dollars why is the awful comment worth a hundred dollars

because

two things will happen one

people who agree with the hater will hop on and leave more hate but what will also happen is those that are my supporters will also see that hop on and defend me yeah and what they're all doing is just giving me more engagement more reach and helping me.

So that's why that I view the awful comments as worth more and more valuable.

I

appreciate positive comments, of course, and I want them, but I don't take the negative ones to heart because you also have to be really objective about it.

These are strangers.

I don't know that person, so who cares?

Right.

Who cares what they think of you, right?

But so how do you

did you ever take it like because I remember in the beginning way back then like somebody always has something to say.

I know because I've been in this industry on and off my whole life.

Did it ever hurt you?

Do you ever feel like, oh my God, I can't do it?

Are you like, I don't care.

I'm just doing my job.

I don't care.

No, because I'm an anomaly.

For most of my career, I have been incredibly disliked by a large group of people, the masses, the majority, actually.

And I am grateful for that because it helped keep my ego in check.

It helped me not take myself too seriously.

Like, I'm not

special.

I'm not anything, you know, whatever.

I'm just a worker bee.

And I just keep working and make it all about the work and put one foot in front of the other and realize that it's my job, and it's not even about me.

And thankfully, all these years later, it's the content and still the celebrities that keep me relevant.

It's not me, people don't really care about me.

Well, wait, wait, wait.

I have to say no, I'm gonna disagree.

We do, as much as you have haters like all of us, you're very loved, and people do care about you because of the way you deliver.

You make it nice, you make it light, you make it interesting, you make it fun.

So, that's not true.

You are very relevant, and you matter.

what do you, what do you think is the biggest, biggest, like celebrity scandal that you think you ever covered?

That you are like, oh my effing Jesus.

Is there one that stands out?

Or, yeah, yeah, of course.

I would say, you know, because it's not resolved yet,

the ongoing, very sad

life

of Britney Spears.

Oh, yes.

There's still a lot of drama that surrounds her and uncertainty and sadness.

And I just wish her well.

And

do you think she's okay?

No, I don't think she's okay.

And that's to be expected.

You know, she suffers from mental health issues and she is

healing from a very traumatic 13-year experience.

Yeah, very traumatic sentence.

You know, if we are to

echo what she said, yeah, no, that is so true.

I know my heart always goes out to her when I see her post on social media.

I don't know, my heart hurts a little bit.

I think, like all of us, right, we're concerned and there's nothing we can do about it.

And we're just praying, praying, praying that she's okay and she's surrounded by people that actually care about her, right?

Well, thankfully, she recently had a bit of a reconciliation with her mother, which I think is a good thing.

Hopefully, the same can happen with her sister.

She lives a very lonely life, she's estranged from her sons, she's estranged from most of her family.

She only really much pretty much has her husband.

And,

you know, some question his motives.

Yeah,

I know.

Any celebrities that, I mean, you've met dozens and dozens during your career.

Is there anybody that stands out that you say, oh my God, this person is such a class act.

I love them, love them, love them.

Top of your list?

My favorite, I don't know if you remember her, but there was this very popular musician in the 90s and early 2000s named Jewel.

I love her.

Of course.

How can we forget her?

She's my favorite.

She's such a super awesome, kind, genuine, real, special human being.

And I also love, love, love, love, love Gloria Stefan, too.

I'm a huge fan, yes.

I had a tiny, tiny part on the remake of Father of the Bride, so I had

the luck of working with her on set in Miami.

And yes, she's so down towards, she's one of the sweetest people I ever met.

You're absolutely right.

Yeah, she's amazing.

Did you ever have any horrible experiences with any celebrity?

Even if you don't want to name the name, like, did anybody ever mistreat you in person or anybody?

I would say the most jarring were the there were two celebrities who

one to my face made a death threat.

So that was pretty intense.

And you're not going to tell us who it is.

I'll tell you who they are.

The two of them were Roseanne

and the actor Jesse Metcalf.

Desperate Housewives forever ago.

And he made a death threat to your face?

He did, yeah.

Wow, okay.

Roseanne did it on my space.

Oh my God.

Okay, let's stay away from those because this is like a no-hate zone.

Yeah, we don't want people that behave like that.

But in general, you have great experiences, right?

Dealing with well, especially nowadays where you know, I don't do things how I used to when I was younger and and

awful in a lot of ways.

But I learned from my past.

I regret my actions.

I've apologized and will continue to apologize.

But

I'm also proud of a lot of the past and what I was able to accomplish and

being the first.

the first you know i was the first influencer yes that's major title before that title even existed, before that word,

I was doing that.

I know.

I was the first.

I was the prototype.

And that's pretty incredible.

And you're definitely a pioneer in celebrity news and sharing what's going on.
