Before I start today's episode with this incredibly, incredibly nice actor, rising star, Stefan Manas,
from the top TV show in the world right now, if not the top one, for sure, one of the top three or four TV shows in the world right now, Ted LaS.
So, Stefan is incredibly nice and down to earth.
I met him at an event a few weeks ago, and I told him, Let's do an episode of the podcast.
He was like, Oh, yeah, let's go for it and he is so so so nice and sweet and if you guys have not watched tedlasso yet maybe you were like me like when i got hooked on it last year um season one i watched I thought, oh, maybe this is a show about soccer.
I'm not into soccer.
And my boyfriend at the time told me, no, no, no, this is so much more than that.
And sure enough, once you start watching it, you really want to binge because it's crazy intelligent.
It's adorable.
It's so human.
It's going to make you laugh.

right now in the beginning of his career, which is super, super exciting.
And keeping true to Caronde Lou's form, keeping everything very real, very raw, very organic.
I decided to do this episode in one of my favorite little spots in all of LA.
It's a tiny local boutique called Parliament on Third.

I want to interview all of them because I am madly, madly, madly in love with the show.
So hopefully, if you guys are out there listening, please come on over.
Come on over.
Let's talk about it because it's an absolutely incredible show.
My ex-boyfriend, we're not together anymore, unfortunately, but he hooked me up on it.
And I am very grateful that he did because I'm not a huge TV watcher.
I rarely watch TV shows, and by far, it's one of the nicest things I've ever watched on TV in my entire life.
So, if you guys are not a Ted Lasso fan, hurry, go watch it, binge and new episodes,
third season every Wednesdays on Apple TV.
And I will let you guys get to the episode now.
Kisses, kisses, kisses.
Fair warning: you are entering a 100%
organic zone.
This podcast is never edited.
It is never scripted.
If you don't like dogs, this podcast is probably not for you because Phoenix is around me 99.9% of the time.
Although during this episode, at parliament he behaved really, really, really, really well.
He's getting better and better and better every day.
If you don't like noises that can happen from the real world, this podcast is probably not for you because, you know, let's be completely honest, sometimes it happens.
And we are very honest, very raw, and very real.

Welcome to our worldwide ever-growing community.
You are entering a real life podcast.
All right, beautiful girlies and boys out there.
This is going to be so much fun.
Hi, Stephen.
Hello, guys.
Thank you for having me.
Let me introduce you first.
For those of you who live under a rock and you haven't heard of this up-and-coming major rising star yet, his name is Stefan
Manas.
Hi.
Hi, guys.
Thank you for having me.
You got my name right.
And I barely practice.
And I have my gorgeous sidekick here to help me make this even extra fun.
Hi, Majde.
Hi.
For those of you who listen to Cat on the Louze, you know Majde is the CEO of Privé LA, the top luxury concierge services in the world.
I really appreciate you doing this.
And true to Cat on the Louise style, we are doing this in one of my favorite places in all of LA.
It's a curated boutique in the heart of West Hollywood called Parliament.
So I want to say thank you so much, Parliament, for hosting us, for letting us make like this fun champagne mess in the middle of the store and letting letting us wear these super cool styles that people ask us a lot what do you wear in LA what do you wear in LA and the answer is you're supposed to look cute and and comfortable and sexy and not too overdressed but at the same time stylish right it's a good description
right good description so you guys can go to my Instagram and see what we're wearing everything
thanks to a parliament on turtle are you ready to rock and roll sure let's go I really appreciate that so for people that don't know you can you give us a little bit of your background?
Like, I know, obviously, you're from France, but maybe a lot of people out there don't know.
Can you tell us like where you come from, how you jumped into acting?
Okay, sure.
Well, basically, I'm coming from Magev.
It's a ski station in France, like a very tiny village in the Alps, next to Switzerland.
So I grew up there.
And just...
for the story i had a one day of extra shooting in a movie that they were shooting in my village when i was 16 and they casted me to be an extra extra just in the back and in the end they gave me a little role for a couple of days and this is how I discovered oh wow cinema is a real thing it's not some just something that you see on TV and so I said okay that's great but
with
being very humble I was quite good in school so the state and government I don't know what you call that paid me to go in school so I've studied studied studied marketing business school for five years but I always loved acting so on the weekend I was doing short films, short movies, and stuff.
But I did my graduation in marketing, business, and electricity and mechanics.
And after that, I worked in a company for two weeks in business offices in Paris, in La Défrance,
and I really hated it.
So, after
two weeks, I asked my business manager, oh, okay, I'm not happy there, I want to travel.
He says, Stefan, you can travel anywhere you want, New York, Tokyo.
I said, Great.
And she told me, in three years, you can travel anywhere.
In three years.
I said, there is no way I'm waiting three years.
So I quit my job and I did a little marketing survey for myself.
Okay, question.
Nobody have this answer, but maybe you have it.
Which country can you go where they do movies, where it's very cheap because I was broke and they talk English?
Which country is it?
India.
Of course it's India.
You have heard.
She read my bio.
No, I didn't.
You didn't.
Well, actually,
it is India.
Bollywood.
You can live a month with $50 over there.
Oh my god.
So
I went to India too
to Mumbai for two years actually.
Really?
So I went for two years learning English and it was tough after two years to be honest because when I came back I was doing casting in English they were like oh you have an Indian accent
with a with a white French face I'm like I'm sorry so I had to work on that to lose it.
That's very particular.
It was too particular to be honest.
Yeah too particular.
So yeah just two years in India, six months in Tokyo, six months in Philippines to
do like the school of life in a way to to work on my lack of acting skills because I wasn't good at all in the beginning.
I could see that and I had no money to go to acting schools.
So I had to work in the in a different way, to learn in a different way.
And when I came back, I started to do international casting and my first casting was Telaso.
Okay, we're gonna get there because of course I when I put on my Instagram that I was gonna interview, you, I'm not kidding, I've been getting hundreds of DMs, like I can't even read all of them because everybody wants to know how do you end up in the top show in the world.
But before, let's go step by step.
That's amazing.
So you had like this major cultural immersion all over the place.
I didn't even know about that.
And
how did you decide, okay, I'm really gonna give this a shot.
I'm gonna go to West, to
LA, to Hollywood, and become a full-time actor.
Was that after you got cast on Tel Azo?
Well,
I arrived in LA three weeks ago and it's my first time in the US.
Only three weeks ago?
I came for the premiere of Telasso.
I've never came back.
Oh my God.
I know when I met you, you told me you had just arrived, but I honestly didn't remember.
It's been only three weeks.
It's, I'm guessing, because I grew up here, so obviously LA is home to me, and I love the noises, the hustle, and bustle.
I even like the chaos.
But a lot of people say it's very intimidating when you get here and you don't know a lot of people you don't know where to go in this big city.
How do you feel?
Well, honestly, I had like one of the best time ever.
Well, we have to be honest, thanks to Telasso in the context I am personally in right now, people are so welcoming.
You know, it's kind of expensive and it's a struggle to stay somewhere.
People have a spare room and couch surfing most of the time and they are very nice.
They help me discover the city and generally very, very nice.
and you talk about chaos well i can talk to you about paris so this is really not chaos i know at all especially right now and um i love the weather i love how the city is built um i love cars in a way so and the traffic here is not that intimidating compared to paris so so far i have to learn so good i feel very good here and people i have this indian vibe when i came to india like totally broke and didn't know even where to sleep like people were very welcoming they have not much to give but they still give a lot and here I feel like you guys have much more to give, but you still give a lot.
So I was very fortunate to meet the right people.
I think you are, yeah,'cause we here obviously I mean it depends on like you said luckily by the time you got here you have all these amazing connections and you're meeting really nice people such as myself and Mo of course
but for some actors when they arrive in LA and they they have this image in their heads that oh I'm I'm super talented, I'm gonna make it, they can crash and burn.
Yeah, I understand.
That's why I didn't choose to go to London or LA when I wanted, okay, let's try international.
And it can be very frustrating.
To be honest, I see, well, I'm going out a lot and I see,
I don't talk to them, but wonderful, good-looking women and men, waiter or driver, or anything.
And I talk a little with them.
They all have this.
dream of acting industry, not just acting, but writing, singing, or production, and it's not easy.
So that's what I've done in India.
I had many, many small jobs to survive until I could be a full-time actor in India.
Even over there, it wasn't easy.
So I feel it.
It's not easy anywhere.
I guess that's what I always tell people, regardless of what it is that you're going to do.
People ask me all the time about podcasting.
I'm like, yeah, if you think you're going to get a microphone, you're going to be in front of your computer, you do a podcast, two days later, you're going to have like $70,000.
No, it's an uphill battle, and you got to really go for it and work really, really hard.
And I think it's with anything in life right obviously acting is the same and acting can be even harder because yeah because you don't know even podcasts actually what am I doing wrong can you help actually you're doing great it's just we're not looking for that yeah and you have to keep pushing and pushing and some people it takes 50 years some people it takes five hours I mean is it luck or not or destiny I have no idea maybe it's a combination but it's very hard to stay positive in acting I understand I agree with you I grew up on on TV sets and I grew up in this industry I've been on this industry on and off my whole life and I know how tough it is for women in our case as we're aging.
Now it got better.
Like I love the Oscar winners this year because they're all like supermature women and they want Oscars.
It was very emotional.
But it's tough.
It's a very tough industry.
But let's rewind a little bit.
So where were you when you got cast for Ted Lasso?
I was
where I was.
Okay, actually.
So I was back in France, struggling to act in France.
So I was a waiter and in construction.
I was a worker in construction.
And I had my
two weeks training to add like a kind of a degree.
And I was working in a I was a crane
crane operator.
Holy cow, that's super hard.
That was
okay.
Dangerous, but not that hard.
And actually, I took my first holidays out of Paris in two years to Greece.
I was very thankful and lucky I had a friend who gave me a little help financially.
He was working in finance and he knew I didn't have any holidays for two years.
So
in the end, I went with him and I went to Greece and I was on the beach and I was like, oh, I love the weather.
Oh my god, I love Greece too.
And I got a mail from my agent saying, oh, Stefan, they're casting for a new Apple TV series.
Do you want to do the casting?
I said, yeah, sure, I have my
own TV.
Okay, so wait, for people that don't so you had an agent in France?
In Brussels.
In Brazil, where?
Brussels.
Brussels.
Brussels.
In Peter.
Okay.
And
okay, awesome.
So they
presented your portfolio to the Catalaso Casting.
It's a very small agency.
I was one of the first talents when I met him.
And I joined the agency and I said, okay, let's go.
And the guy is very specialized in spotlight.
I don't know if you know, it's a platform when you can do casting, like casting access, actor access.
I don't know what you have.
It's just a platform.
And as an official agency is allowed to postulate, to
what?
It's allowed to propose talent for castings.
So it was just this casting.
Footballers in Europe needed for an Apple TV show.
And that's it.
I mean,
I don't know anybody.
I didn't know the casting director or Jason or whoever.
It was an open call, that's it.
So you went there and you auditioned?
I auditioned from Greece.
It was my phone, like that.
And I passed the first steps, then called back, hey guys, I'm Stefan, what have you done?
Well my resume is blank but I know how to play a little football, I'm French, my accent is not that great and they said oh that's wonderful and then I was the final two and uh two days after my agent called me Oh Stefan you cast you starting Monday I said I'm on holiday for the first time in my life and I've I have to cancel everything to go but I said that's the best news ever so I stopped my holiday I went to London straight straight away, and started acting.
And that's a funny story.
Can you believe it or not?
We were the last two French guys for this role.
And the other one, I knew it a year after when he sent me a message.
It was my roommate that I had in India two years ago that I met in the street and said, oh, let's have a house together.
Just a flat.
And he was my roommate.
Oh, my God, seriously?
That's serious.
Wow.
So that's, I think that, well, I believe in destiny.
I don't know if you do.
I think you are destined to have that role.
Can you tell us like the excitement when you get that call?
Like, you got this part.
How did you feel?
I clearly remember.
I was walking
next to the pool of the hotel and I was extremely happy, excited.
I didn't know if I should scream.
I saw my contract with my name.
Hello, sir.
Come in.
Sorry, it's my...
Come in, come in, Os, come in.
Sorry, guys.
It's one of my clients coming in late and we should stop because cat on the lose is 100% organic and never edited.
Go ahead, go ahead, let's move on.
Okay, let's go.
And yeah, I just saw my name on the contract, the STEM Apple, and an amount saying, Oh, Stefan, we want you from this time to this time.
Like my first big professional contract.
And I had to pack the day after to lift and go to London.
So
I was very happy, but mostly stressed as it was my first big job.
Yeah.
And so I tried to stay focused and didn't tell anybody about it, not my family and everything.
I told them when I finished shooting Ted Lasso actually.
And
very happy but okay, let's get that's now.
Okay.
So you got the Ted Lasso row and you fly to London.
Where do they shoot it?
In London.
In London.
In studios?
London West.
In studios, West Film Studios and in
obviously on a football pitch.
How did you feel
the first day on set?
Can you tell us, like, because a lot of people that are listening that never worked in acting, they've never been on a movie set, they ask this question all the time: like, how is it like the first day you're there?
Do they welcome you?
Do you talk to the producer?
Do you talk to the other actors?
Do you feel a little intimidated or do they make you feel welcome right away?
The first day was terrible.
From my point of view, I was extremely stressed i could not eat but they were extremely welcoming
extremely welcoming with everybody over there and uh
and yeah like all the cast jason gave me a huge hug ah the french actor now he's here the producer below is he nice in person is one of the nicest people i've met and uh i mean on set very professional and i've seen invited us like in his own home with his own kids uh to play fifa to have some uh chicken wings and to to have some beers and
like really for real and we had a we have a lot of fun.
Obviously the guy is extremely funny so he's got a good vibe and
he's just a man.
I mean if he has personal problem or
like we all do
like we don't see him.
He's doing his stuff and when he has time for us he's always very very nice and to welcome us at his
at his home.
But it was good.
The first days I was very
intimidated so I didn't talk for like a couple of days and my English was kind of off, so I couldn't understand what they were saying to me anyway.
So I just tried to look everywhere and to fit in, but it was wonderful.
Oh my god.
And how long did you film for?
The first season was three months, if I'm not mistaken.
The first and now I saw that you're back for season two.
Season three was...
Oh, so your first season was season two that I'm watching now?
No, my first season was season one.
Were you on season one?
Yes.
Oh my god, I didn't even know that.
I haven't even watched the show, to be honest.
I watched, I gotta tell you.
So I had a boyfriend last year that I really liked, but I don't wanna talk about him.
And he got me hooked.
He's like, you gotta watch this show.
You gotta watch.
And I'm like, why the fuck am I gonna like a show about soccer?
Football.
Football.
Okay, football.
But here, it's and when I start, when you start watching it, it draws you in there.
Like, you can't stop.
You wanna watch one after the other, after the other.
And the messages are so sweet.
It's very emotional, right?
For men and women.
So I got completely hooked on it.
So now I gotta go go back to season one
again.
But now I started watching season two, and I see that you have like lines,
like you're actually talking.
I had some lines in season one.
You did?
Okay, fine.
I'm gonna go back and watch.
It's okay.
I think I was paying attention to my boyfriend more than I was paying attention.
Well, there is one French guy.
You can't miss it.
So,
there is only one.
You're the only French guy in the
team.
One French guy and the Canadian friends.
So, what's the name of the team AFC Wichman
can you tell us anything that's gonna help no I knew you were gonna say that are they gonna start winning
well we win some game we lose some game and it's part of the you cannot give us any spoilers have you guys got any feedback from like you know other soccer teams you know yeah Chelsea was very nice like the second episode was about Chelsea they posted many things on their Instagram We had a private message from the actual players.
Maybe you're going to see some cameo.
I don't know how they edited it, but I'm sure they're doing their best to imply a lot of Premier League.
And I think Premier League football, like in
the UK, was a very close partner to the show Telasso and the Apple TV production.
So I think they've done their best, and with Nike too,
to make the show very
looking so real.
And did you see the t-shirt?
She didn't see the show, but I thought it was really cool.
The first season, like, they kept talking about that app, Banter.
Yeah.
That
you can talk to someone, but you don't know who they are.
And I'm like, I would never do that.
Would you?
Like, you meet somebody online and you cannot see their face.
It's like you're just talking, talking, talking.
So one of the owner of the team...
She starts talking to someone in season one and then she finds out he was one of the players.
It was a season two?
Yeah, I'm like, I'm sorry.
my head is confused about the seasons, but it's really cool.
It's a great idea, it's very fun.
But I wouldn't do it, I wouldn't spend weeks and weeks and weeks talking to someone unless I could see their face.
But then Bumbo
did a partnership, and now it exists in real life.
Yeah, did you know that?
No, I didn't know that.
Yeah, so now you can go on Bumble, and I don't know if it's in the app or where it is.
I think I've checked, it's on the app, it's like an option.
I don't know if it's still here, but it was really written banter from Ted Lasso, give it a try.
Yeah, so you can actually go and try this experience of meeting somebody.
I don't know,
you can only see the person when you actually go on the date, right?
I don't know, I didn't try that.
It's something like that, it's like bumble, but you meet someone, you talk to them, and then if you go on a date, you meet them.
So, on Ted Lasso, the owner of the team, I forgot the name of that actress, and I love her, she's fantastic.
Anna Weddington, yeah, she's
Juno Tempo.
Have you guys gotten to know?
No, Juno Tempo is the influencer.
Yeah, she's the one who's bringing Bente.
I would do her job for free
because,
like, the number one guy in the world for me right now is, of course, Brett, Mr.
Codstein.
If you're listening,
I've been really hounding him to be on Canon Bels.
Like, I'm begging you, please come to Canon.
You want his number?
Yes, the way we talk.
No, he's going to think I must talk.
Listen.
And it's funny because the way he talks on the phone, like, everything he says, like, fuck, fuck, fuck, right?
And he has like the little niece, and he has to stop saying fuck.
And I'm all like, he's so hot.
Fucking hot.
I know.
He's the best, and he's so hot.
You are too.
I mean, by the way, girls, listening to this episode, you're welcome because he's a major eye candy.
So don't forget to go and check out YouTube, Instagram to see the videos of this episode, right?
You gotta watch the show.
Have you guys got invited to go back to any of the facility, like the Manchester United team or any of the teams?
I'm not telling you, you have to watch it.
He's not in the middle of the day.
Not in your life, not in the show.
If we have been invited there, it's because maybe we have shot there.
So I cannot tell yet.
You cannot tell us.
You can see the episodes released in season one, Crystal Palace, and I think
Wimbley was quite insane to go there.
So they invited us for like, was it England, Germany last year?
So yeah, but I'm not telling you the new ones.
It's a dream of mine to marry a soccer player.
A real soccer player or a Ted Lasso soccer player?
A real soccer player.
Maybe you need to go to more a soccer game.
I was at the World Cup.
You were?
I were.
Oh.
Where was it?
Qatar.
Qatar.
You were to Qatar?
I didn't know that.
I've only been to one World Cup when it was here in the United States and I was like really young.
I was like a teenager and it was really cool.
California.
Next one is in USA.
I think they're going to do the same thing.
Yeah.
Oh no, the one I went to, like, I think 93
finals are going to be in LA at the Sophie.
Really?
Yeah, I think it's a good idea.
Okay, let's get it.
Let's get our tip.
Prevail.
Okay, Prevail A hooking you up for the next World Cup.
Make sure you guys call them.
Thing to a plus one, please.
Yeah, so you do like playing football in
americans say soccer you like playing soccer in real life yeah i play uh some weekends i mean it's a very common game in france right so we play sometimes yeah not here i mean i i don't know it doesn't even david beckham was not capable of making americans love soccer i don't know no they do not as much i've been to la fc game and i'm telling you that the
well he doesn't have he doesn't own the team anymore the fans are so cheerful the fans are but like you know in Brazil is an obsession.
In France it's an obsession here.
Exactly.
Here in the US it's like they don't really care.
Americans don't care.
Alessandro del Piero has a restaurant down the street, um number ten.
Mm-hmm.
Did you know?
I did not know that.
I did not know that.
Yeah.
See you giving all the cool tips about LA.
That's awesome.
Yeah, I think he's in Barcelona right now, but he lives in LA with his family.
Yeah, so before we take a two-minute break and talk about other more important things, let's wrap up the Ted Lasso situation.
You're not gonna tell us anything that's happening in the next episodes.
Okay, fine.
How many episodes this season?
12.
12.
So there were two out, right?
Two out.
The next is every Wednesday.
Every Wednesday.
And do you know if there's gonna be a season four?
I don't know.
There's only one person who knows, I think, is Jason.
Because there were rumors, did you see on the internet that that was it, that was the rep?
They don't tell you?
So far, it looks like this, but the final decision would be Jason, and maybe he's gonna make like an official announcement at the end of the season.
I have no idea, but can you tell us if the end episode that you guys filmed,
like if they don't make a season four, are people gonna be wanting for more, or is there like resolutions to everything?
I think they made it open to both situations.
Uh-huh.
So I don't really know.
Do you so your role
does it grow?
No, I die in the end.
No!
I'm kidding.
I'm not dying.
Don't worry, everything is fine.
I think every character, some characters
have fantastic heart.
New Hawk is going to be insanely beautiful.
So just wait for it.
And
I haven't seen it myself, so I cannot wait to see it.
And it's getting, it's very expansional.
Like season one, first episode, and then you're getting to the season, bam, season two, same.
The third episode, you in it, the funeral episode was fantastic.
Funny episode was love it.
The Christmas episode was great.
Brendan,
sorry, Beard After Hours.
I think I was.
They're all amazing.
And I think Syrian 3 is going to be the same and
even better.
Yeah,
you got to watch it because you're going to fall in love with it because I know you're very dreamy and you like romantic things.
And I love his positivity.
You know, some people get annoyed, right?
How he always has a positive spin on everything.
I think that's adorable.
It is, but he has ups and downs.
He's got many issues he's got got to deal with.
And
you see, it's just a human who's trying to do the right thing.
And
it's very genuine, and it's a lovely show.
If you haven't watched it, give it a try.
It's short episodes, 25-30 minutes.
It's so funny.
There's jokes all the time.
And it's not a series about football.
Yes, it's clearly not.
I mean, if you don't agree about anything else, it's all that's around it and friendship and teamwork.
And romance and friendship and human human relations and heartbreak.
Obviously, I'm hoping that he's going to have a new love, right?
Because his heart is broken and he deserves it.
I'm hoping you know you don't add that.
Look at his face.
Drink more champagne.

CRM was supposed to improve customer relationships.
Instead, it's shorthand for can't resolve much.
Which means you may have sunk a fortune into software that just bounces customer issues around but never actually solves them.
On the ServiceNow AI platform, CRM stands for something better.
With AI built into one platform, customers aren't mired in endless loops of automated indifference.
They get what they need when they need it.
Bad CRM was then.

I am so, so excited to finally start letting this cat out of the bag because I've been working on this for a very long time.
This podcast, as all of you know, is about sex, dating, and relationships.
And for those of you who follow my work, know that I'm a huge, huge advocate of everyone having a healthy, happy, fulfilling sex life and just normalizing for once and for all women talking about sex and wanting to have great sex.
I was in a marriage for 14 years that was almost
sexless.
I was judged.
I was embarrassed about my sexuality.
I was embarrassed to talk about my fantasies and what I wanted.
And nowadays, I realize how important that is.
And it should be a healthy and fun part of our lives.
And there is nothing that we should be embarrassed about if you love to have sex and if you enjoy it.
So, for the longest time, I've been thinking and try to decide who I was going to partner with
when it came to sex toys, because it is also something that i realized unfortunately it is still taboo for a lot of people and i've been trying to talk about it more and more and more and interview experts about it and i actually want to work with a brand that i love and believe in so i can start doing giveaways try on products tell you guys about it and just open up this dialogue a lot more than i've done in the past and i do get messages from from women and men all over the world asking me to talk more about the subject.
It shouldn't be taboo, it's completely fine to use sex toys if you're single.
Of course,
you shouldn't wait for somebody to give you pleasure, to give you fulfillment in bed, to give you an orgasm.
But even if you're not, even if you're a couple, it's not competition with your guys
dick like a lot of people think by any means.
It can be a fun, amazing way to spice up your sex life so coming up very very soon we are going to be working with a new brand that is launching worldwide called prazeris prazeris means pleasures in portuguese of course i love the name and they are going to revolutionize the way people use think and buy sex toys they're going to bring this incredible collection uh a bunch of really fun stuff i cannot tell you guys all the details yet but amazing amazing cute toys for girls that never tried it before for couples that want to give it a try a lot of incredible incredible fun toys prazidis the sexiest sex toy brand in the world is launching very soon and i will have tons more information for you guys Soon, soon, soon in the next few episodes.
And I'm going to post everything on my social media.
I'm going to do a huge giveaways.
And let's demystify talking about sex toys, using sex toys, having fun with sex toys.
So, I'm really excited to be partnering up with Praziris coming up very soon.

Okay, we're back with this super, super talented eye candy
actor, Stefan Manas.
I love saying your name.
And my gorgeous sidekick, Majde Bahmin.
You guys have fancy, fabulous names.
Yeah, we do.
I know.
Mine is Catherine.
Good news.
Paris.
You know, my middle name is Paris.
Is it?
Yes, I know.
It's embarrassing.
Why do you mean that?
My father wanted my first name to be Paris, and my mother was like, I don't think so.
It's going to be the middle.
And now we have bling, bling, bling, courtesy of Simon G.
Jewelry.
They brought us some gorgeous, gorgeous jewels to try on.
But you know what I love about them?
They have jewelry on all price points.
It's not just something cray-cray that you watch like at the Oscars that costs millions of dollars.
So if anybody out there wants to buy a gift to their girlfriend, to their wife, you know, on anniversary, they have all kinds of stuff.
So, check it out.
You are wearing something insanely fabulous.
Tell us a little bit about this.
And I could wear this.
Okay, Brett, if you're listening, when we get engaged, you can get me either one of these two.
Okay,
back to the conversation.
So, you did Ted La.
So, you're starting your acting career and you jump from struggling struggling and doing construction in France and all that stuff into the hottest show on the planet.
And even if somebody disagree, one of the top, top shows on the planet, for sure.
And then you decide to move to LA.
And then you show up here three years ago.
A lot of people send me this question.
Do you control, like, how do you feel?
Do you feel like you're the last Coca-Cola zero of the desert with ice?
Or do you control your ego?
To be honest, honest, I don't feel much.
I try not to overthink.
I'm just taking in what's coming to me.
And
I know where I'm from, you know, I'm coming from
not poverty, but like my family, my dad was a jitan, my mom come from military and I worked very hard and just I'm enjoying whatever's coming and I've don't I've never looked people down because not so so long ago I spent some days on the street in India so and they were so nice and I felt completely safe.
So, it doesn't matter if I have a minus five thousand or plus five million.
I mean,
one day, if I change, I mean, I would say, well, I didn't do a good job, but so far I'm very, very happy and just enjoying it.
And I don't overthink.
Overthink, I think, cost me two years of acting, just trying to do too good, try to do this.
Why they don't take me, why this, what that.
And actually, there is no answer.
Don't stop, stop asking
questions to the universe about yourself because it's not about you.
There's a huge, bigger picture called cinema industry which costs billions and there are hundreds and thousands of people working on the show.
It's not about you unless you're Tom Cruise.
I don't know which big actor or Jason doing everything, it's about them.
But yourself, especially when you start, just have fun, be professional, be on time, smile, do your best, be respectful.
And I know I wasn't good that much, to be honest, like many other French actors could have done what I've done or better, but I did my best and I think Jason or I don't know who said I will gonna give Stefan a chance and he's gonna grow up with us in Telaso and after three years I feel much more confident, much more better and I feel like tomorrow I can act with Jason himself that the first day I said I'm I'm terrified.
And so so you you learn a lot, you learn a lot.
So don't don't stress.
Yes, I love your answer and I think it's amazing that you're saying that because to me, that's the most important thing.
Like stay humble and be simple and be grateful, right?
For me, like that's the top.
And because I've lived in LA on and off my entire life, I see so many people and Mojde and I talk about that all the time.
People that arrive like overnight and that...
are not even real actors yet, but they get like a little job here and there or they get photographed by the press and they let it go up to their head and they start changing the way they treat other people.
And it drives me crazy.
I just can't take it.
I think, like, arrogance and that sense of entitlement is the worst thing in the world.
So, I love when I meet people that like just keeping it real.
Jason himself is the least arrogant people, you know.
He's congratulating me.
Oh, congrats for Telasu.
I don't even have time to tell him congratulations.
He's congrating everybody on the show.
And I mean, it is a great example if you want to emulate somebody.
Yeah.
But...
Don't forget where you came from.
Yes, but some people might be the son of Tom Cruise.
So if you're a son of a billionaire guy with huge power, and I'm not blaming them, maybe in a way I would have loved to have a dad who's a huge producer.
Or maybe not.
But
I'm lucky enough.
I came from extremely low.
in this case I don't blame where I'm coming from.
But if you're not, I mean, you you have to understand and respect everybody's different perspective.
But wherever you're coming from,
understand that.
Some people have worked very hard and still struggled all their life and sacrificed everything to come here.
It costs a lot, the green card, whatever, it costs a lot.
And you leave your family, you leave your friend, you make a big risk.
So respect people who have not made it.
And if you didn't make it, even if you did, just respect.
1 million percent.
And I do think the people that end up on top, like Jason, it's definitely because of their attitude I think the nicer you are I mean I believe in energy I believe in karma and I think the nicer you are the universe just brings everything back to you you have to be humble but you have to be confident I mean don't undervalue yourself I mean the talents and hard work so that's my worst and Jason will not say no no I'm like this no he's at top but still yeah the way you behave with other human beings not with companies always have to be have to be quick I agree tell us a little bit about your personal life.
Yeah, let's switch gears.
I wish you guys could see Maj Dev's face right now.
Her eyes are sparkling.
So, question number one:
without invading too much of your privacy.
You just got here to LA.
Do you notice major differences like in the dating world and how people relate to each other between Paris?
And you know, I know a lot about French culture because my dad was French.
My dad was from Paris.
But do you have you seen major differences between how people date and flirt and relate to each other there?
And here, or you think it's all the same?
No, here, I mean, no surprises, but in LA, I've just been here for a couple of weeks, but I'm just observing people.
But it's a lot about the appearance.
When I see friends dating, I'm dating that girl, and I watch them, and they're trying to grab her hand.
He's like, no, no, no, not publicly, not publicly.
Everything is very private.
Really?
As in Paris, I mean, they don't care much.
I mean, I've been to some clubs clubs and I'm surprised.
I'm watching people.
Nobody's kissing in this club here.
Like in Paris, everybody make out kiss or dance here.
Do you have your noticed that?
I don't know which club I've been to.
I don't really go clubbing anymore, but I feel like people here are more arrogant and
there is not much of like affection in public.
Not a lot of PDA.
Yeah, for sure.
We have this a lot in Paris.
Yes, for sure.
We don't care much.
Do you think the girls
in the United States are more aggressive compared to the girls in Paris?
It's hard to say because I just know LA.
So I will not say United States.
No, I think they are very...
No, no, not aggressive.
No, no.
No.
Well, so far.
How about the girls?
Do you think it's the same?
Like, do you...
American girls, the way they approach a guy, the way they talk to you, and in France, or do you see any differences?
Like I said, I'm coming into a contest where when I go out, sometimes, most times I'm invited as ten las or guests so it's not very genuine and honest so
I cannot really say but like normal place in Paris you can talk to most of the girls if you talk nicely like they answer nicely and over here
it's special events so everybody smiles they go out to show they're going out they're not going out to have fun or to to meet people so it's very different I'm gonna have a little trip inside USA and then I can tell you next time oh yeah good idea do you have any place that you want to see first I'm going to San francisco gonna drive with an ollie back to la
then i'm going to las vegas because i want to see las vegas oh for sure yeah las vegas is a lot of fun 10 days in new york for sure yeah so much to see yeah you picked the right places this drive from san francisco down to la down the coast is gorgeous it's totally worth it yeah i think you picked the right and las vegas yeah you have to see las vegas i have to see las vegas you have to see las vegas for sure i've never been a vague as well
he just
And we can hook you up too because we know a lot of really cool people there.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, we can help you.
That's what I like about US so far.
I was in San Diego, I know this actor, so I worked with him.
I wrote him, he answered me like two hours after, oh, let's hook up in Paris, so in LA, and you know people in Las Vegas.
So if I go, oh, okay, let's do here, do that.
Yeah.
Like people are so connected in this country.
Are you going to Canada here?
I'm going to Can this year, first time in four years since the pandemic.
Last time I went to Cannes, this is how I got to Lasso actually.
I was with um can I say it quickly?
Yes.
So I had an agent in France and I had no job for like a year or two with this agent.
And I had the I met this girl who she's the
let's say the African ambassador, a very great friend of mine, Lisa Wuner.
Lis Lisa Marie Werner, sorry.
And I met her at a birthday and she told me, Oh, there's Can next week.
I say, well, yes, I have nothing to present.
Oh, you want a ticket?
Because she had a a company production she had like ten tickets and said oh you want to somebody's not coming so take the ticket so you can come to Cannes Festival get inside I said okay uh bank accounts 150 euros um it's gonna be hard but believe it I've done my entire canned festival with entire with 150 euros uh for ten days training included just eating apples and carrots how did you do it couch surfing okay yeah
I was in cannes last year too yeah you know how much it's yeah it's crazy but I've been there
And when I got there, I told my agent, hey, surprise, I'm in Cannes.
She said, oh, well, Stefan, you haven't done much this year.
I said, well, I know, that's your job.
You didn't find me anything.
And then I said, but let's say, hello, like, for coffee.
I said, she told me, I don't have time for you because I'm with other actors, actresses who were working, so I don't have time.
So I was very upset.
That's not very nice.
And well,
it's just business, I guess.
And the day after I met that guy who just created his new company, Alain and the Bruxelle guy, and he said, join my agency.
And I said, yes.
And two weeks after I got the LAS.
You sure live at the same agent as my friend Abbas, right?
Really?
Yes.
Locusto?
Yeah.
Well, here we go.
I was one of the first talent of the agency.
Okay, yeah, yeah.
That's cool.
So you're going this year again?
This year I'm going because it has been off or weird for some years because of the pandemic.
I think this year is the first time where the Americans are coming back and have their own
Julia Lenovo, I forgot the name of that, but the fact that Americans are coming back to have their own quarter is going to be very helpful.
It's going to be Can again this year.
But you came, like you moved here permanently.
You want to live here just or not?
Still this, I'll finish in jail.
Of course, I'm not going to be able to do it.
No, I'm just one.
No, I don't have a visa.
No, I know, but you wanna, like, your goal is to stay here.
So far, I'm visiting.
Oh,
you don't know yet?
No, I don't know yet.
Okay, got it.
But are you auditioning for all the parts?
Of course, I'm always auditioning for the parts.
I have a manager in LA now.
I'm very happy about it.
We're working with lawyers to get the paperwork to be able to shoot here if needed.
But I'm still based in Paris so far.
I'm just visiting the country, feel the vibes.
Let's see how it works.
That's the way to go, right?
Because I think three weeks is not enough to decide.
Two months.
Did you feel like a major shock in culture?
No.
No?
No, not at all.
I had a major shock, like huge shock, as you can believe it, in India.
I can only imagine.
And even Tokyo was okay.
Can you imagine moving from Paris to India?
It's like probably one of the biggest cultural shocks in the world.
No, from India to Tokyo.
Oh, yeah.
Black and white.
Oh, yeah.
So different.
Yeah, they have no, yeah.
But if you guys want to go to India, I know it takes time, but you have to go three weeks because.
You know, my sister lived in India for a year
because she's into yoga and she wanted to become a yoga
teacher and everything.
And she fell in love with the place.
But then she ended up going back to Brazil, but she loves and loves and loves it.
Last year was the first time I went to Paris.
Really?
Yeah.
We gotta go back together, all of us.
Yeah.
It was just amazing.
Yeah.
Maybe we'll go we we're m making a plan to go this way.
Yeah.
Well, I'm going to forget Monaco for sure and then probably can and Monaco.
So maybe you're gonna see him in Cannes.
Two days.
I'm just going for a race.
Oh, just for the race.
Okay, he's gonna be great.
Yeah, I think so.
Well, you're amazing.
Congratulations on all your success.
I am very grateful that you're doing this.
And I know that as you become a bigger and bigger and bigger star, you're not gonna forget your unfamous friends.
I won't forget anybody.
I'm unfamous.
I'm unfamous.
I'm unfamous.
But I mean, it's incredible.
and I think it was your destiny to be on this show.
And you are amazing there.
And if you guys are like majed and have not watched Ted Lasso, you don't know what you're missing.
I'm saying, and I'm not a TV, believe it or not, I don't love watching TV
because I'm a little traumatized from working so many hours on sets.
Do you feel that way?
Like
when you're not working on a set, the last thing you want to do is like watch TV.
I feel, I understand that.
Like sometimes you do a casting, you don't have it, and you see the advertisements of the series of the movie on TV, and you see the role that you should have played, and you don't have it.
You're like, very bad feeling.
I know, but it's totally worth it.
It's 1 million percent fun and adorable.
It's a feel-good show.
It's a feel-good show.
It makes you cry, makes you laugh, it makes you want to date Brett Goldstein and Stefan Manaz, and all the good stuff.
I guess I did a real soccer player.
Well, a real soccer player.
Okay, soccer players of the world, if you're listening,
what's her number?
Send a message on underscore Prevail A Instagram.
I hope you guys go to YouTube and Instagram to see their face because they have the cutest smiles in the world.
This was a lot of fun.
Last question before I let you go.
How is your family like regarding your career?
Are they supportive?
Or did they think you're cray-cray?
Because a lot of people, when they say, I'm going to be an actor, the families are like, excuse me, you're crazy.
We might finish with another question after that because it's not, I mean, they're not that product.
As I'm the only artist in the entire family, 20, 30 people, there's absolutely no artists.
I don't know.
I came into it.
But no, I mean, even my dad, I haven't watched the show yet,
or my brother.
But it's, I mean, it's like that.
Maybe my family was very hard with me, and maybe I wasn't
the best family member of my own.
So I'm I'm I'm kind of a lonely wolf and um they're happy that I'm happy.
That's all that matters, but they are not very interested in what I do and maybe I'm not very interested in what they're doing neither.
Yeah.
Same with
a different ship.
Blackship is good I'm the same.
Nobody's an artist in my family.
It doesn't care about me being an entrepreneur living in LA, all high educated.
Yeah.
You know, and but they f I think they felt bad there.
They pushed me for school for five years.
It wasn't that easy, just going here and there.
And the fact that I let them down for two years, I let them down.
I just left to India and I didn't give much news because it was so it was a huge cultural shock and I needed time to embrace it.
So like for a year, I didn't give much news.
And I've never
asked anything to my family, but they were asking for just news, how you are.
And I'm, yeah, I don't know.
It was, I had a tough youth with
my mom and dad.
So
Same with me and Marjde.
Same.
I made my way here.
I never got help from my family.
I'm the only artist.
They all think I'm crazy, but I think at the end of the day, life is very, very short.
And you need to follow your dreams and you need to go for it.
Right?
And
yeah.
But it's not easy.
I mean, it's never easy.
So if you don't do it, don't get too hard on yourself.
You all have to make decisions, and family is a huge part of your life, but
it's not easy to find the right balance.
But so far, I'm very happy, so they're happy.
Yes, yay!
You're amazing!
Thank you so much.
It was such a pleasure meeting you.
I am so grateful that you're here.
I hope you come back and we do more episodes.
Thanks for having me.
Thank you to all you guys listening.
Thank you for FX for this introduction.
Yes, shout out to FX, owner of Fast Lane.
They're the super cool private car club.
I can tell you that I was with them yesterday.
And we were at a Fastlane event, and that's how we met you.
And I love cars, I love speed.
So I had so much fun.
It was such an honor to participate.
And if you ever need a co-pilot,
can I be first on the list?
Get it.
Or she can be first on the list.
I can be second on the list.
You can have it.
Yeah, so thanks, FF.
Fast Lane.
I have to say thanks, Parliament on Third, for letting us host this super fun champagne coffee
episode here in the middle of the store.
They have the coolest, coolest
clothes.
I really like it.
Did you see my t-shirt?
Because I was having a tough morning and you guys made it all so much better.
Thank you.
Be nice to me.
I had a hard day, but now my day got so much better.
Thanks to both of you and your beautiful smiles.
You guys are amazing.
Best of luck.
I know.
You are going to go to the stars because you're crazy talented and you are genuinely super, super nice.
Thank you.
you, I appreciate it.
I'll do my best.
Yes, you do.
Thank you, Majdef, for co-hosting this with me.
It was a lot of fun.
Thank you, Simon G.
Jury, and Ozzie, for stopping by.
You guys need to travel this summer.
Yes, despite the fact that you are late, I love their jury.
I love everything that they do for all price points.
And I know I have a lot more people to thank that I'm probably forgetting, but I will remember you guys before I go.
This was a super fun episode of Canon Daloo's 100% organic.
Never edited, never scripted, because that's how I wrote.
And of course, the entire cast of Ted Lasso is more than welcome.
Especially.
Especially.
I promise.
Listen, Brad, I swear to God, I will not jump your bones if you come.
Unless you want me to.
But if you don't want me to, I won't.
I promise.
I'll behave.
I'll be really, really nice.
And we'll see you guys soon.
Love you.
Be safe out there.
Mama.
