Today's episode is so important to me because, for those of you who know my work, you know that I always talk about women empowerment, about body positivity, and first and foremost, about self-love and self-care.

And I've been trying to get my guest today on the show for a very long time.

She's insanely busy, insanely successful.

Her name is Diana Maux, as they say in Colombia, Diana Mo, as we say it here.

She is a celebrity trainer.

She developed her own training method called the Mo training.

She is incredibly inspiring.

If you look at her Instagram, her posts, her vibe, her energy, she really, really keeps it real.

And I've loved her and followed her work for a very long time.

It was a crazy short interview because she was literally in her car in between clients, in between appointments, but she's so nice.

She was like, No, I don't want to reschedule, I don't want to cancel it, let's just rock and roll and go for it.

So, we were like, Yeah, let's just do it.

So, I tried to squeeze in as much as I possibly could

because I know, of course, now the summer is coming up here in the United States, but I know so many women all over the world suffer from body insecurities, thinking that your body doesn't look good enough, that you're never going to look like the models, like the influences, blah, blah, blah, that you see see on social media and this is all such crap and diana is the perfect role model example that it's not about being perfect it's about loving your body being the very best version of yourself that you possibly can be and practicing self-love and self-care and i think this is immediately related to sex dating and relationships because of course the better we feel about ourselves the better you're going to feel with anybody else the better you're going to be in any kind of relationship you have out there, dating, friendships, business, whatever it is that you're doing.

I really, really think it starts with us.

And it's been a journey for me as well, learning how to put myself first, learning how to love my body, learning how to take care of how I look, learning to love exercise and understanding that it shouldn't be a chore.

It shouldn't be something that you wake up like, oh, fuck, I can't believe I got to do it.

Adapting and figuring out something that you love to do, that it actually becomes a fun, amazing part of your life.

So I really, really hope she inspires you guys.

Take a look at her Instagram because her work is absolutely fantastic.

And if you are someone out there that needs inspiration, that is feeling down, that doesn't know where to start, maybe this is the little bit of the kickstart that you need.

And remember, It doesn't matter how much you love someone.

If you're single, it doesn't matter how badly you want to be in a relationship, how badly you want to be someone it has to start with you and all my past few guests that i've had are sending the same message when i interviewed max lugavere the famous celebrity podcaster and nutritionist he said the same thing and i'm never going to forget that phrase it has to start with the base it has to start with us you need to love you more than you love anyone else you need to love your body with all the amazing imperfections and make it as great as you possibly can for your health, for your mind, for your soul, and it will most definitely change the relationships around you.

So, I really hope you guys enjoyed this episode with Diana Mo.

And before we get going, a very, very quick word from my wonderful sponsors that make this show possible.

Fair warning, you are entering a 100%

organic zone.

This podcast is never edited.

It's never scripted.

It's real and it is raw.

For example, today my guest was running late in between a million different things.

She decided to rock and roll and do the interview inside her car.

So we are keeping real.

If you don't like dogs, this podcast is also probably not for you because 99.9% of the time, Phoenix is around me.

And guess what?

Sometimes dogs bark.

If you don't like noises from the real world, this podcast is probably not for you because, like I said, most of the time, we are not in a perfect, fancy, expensive studio with fancy audio engineers fixing everything.

This is an organic, real real life conversation.

Like today, she was in her car, I am sitting in my home office, and we decided to just go for it.

Now,

if you do like complete, honest, very real, very open, very raw conversations, this podcast is for you.

So welcome.

to our worldwide ever-growing community and I hope you enjoy it.

You are entering Cat on the Loose, a real-life podcast.

Hi, girlies and boys out there.

I'm gonna jump right on it because this girlie is so busy.

She's doing this interview in her car, in between clients, in between an insanely fabulous life.

But I am so honored that you're here because you know how much I admire you and your work.

Celebrity fitness trainer and major, major role model to women all over the world.

Diana Mo.

Hi, Diana.

Hi, Catherine.

Thank you.

Thank you for having me.

Thank you so much for doing this.

I see you sitting in your car and literally, you're one of the busiest,

hardest working women.

We can't stop.

Like, if we start early, we finish late, and we get it done.

Exactly.

We do it for you.

We get it done.

But I have to say thank you, thank you with all my heart because I've been following your work forever.

I've been trying to get you on the podcast, and I know how precious your time is.

So, I am really, really grateful from the bottom of my heart.

I appreciate you.

I appreciate your words.

Thank you.

So, like I said,

obrigada, gracias.

So, like I said, uh, once I told my audience that I was gonna have you on the podcast, like in 48 hours, I literally got hundreds of questions.

So, we've been piling up.

Let's squeeze in as much as we possibly can.

But, can you give us like a super quick, like a little bio about yourself for people that have not heard about you, like what you do, how you got into this business.

Okay, Catherine,

I was born in Colombia.

Let's make a Colombia.

I'm Colombian.

I left my country at a very young age,

21 years old.

I was in the restaurant business.

I used to restaurants in the U.S.

So that was my first career,

hospitality.

From there, I always been into sports thanks to my mother, but I was overweight because nobody teaches you how to eat in Latin America middle class, you know.

So I always been into sports and active, but I was overweight.

So I grew up with very low self-esteem.

And

I was bulimic as well with eating disorders.

And on my journey, I got you know more and more and more and more in love with fitness and wellness.

And I just keep doing it since I remember now.

And it's been a long time, so I get certified.

I got a personal trainer certification.

I start to train people and celebrities, as you said, and I changed my life.

And now I'm just looking forward to change more lives and teach what I know and what life have, you know, taught me.

Yeah, incredible.

And this is what I love about you because a lot of personal trainers, because let's face it, a lot of women look at the work and the bodies and everything.

They're like, oh, this is impossible.

I am never going to look like that.

So let's start from the beginning.

I actually saw, and you guys should go to her Instagram and take a look.

You did a post.

You're very real.

You're very real.

You're not preaching.

Yeah, and to me, that's key.

You're not preaching people to be like the skinniest.

You're not telling women to starve you actually do posts showing women how your body was before you were like a chubby teenager and how you transformed your body but it's all about body positivity with the work you do and i agree a lot of latin american countries because coming from brazil is the same thing a lot of the food is heavy and fried and and stuff and and i know girls out there see these models and and and girls on social media and and they think it's impossible they're never gonna have the perfect body.

So, for anyone out there listening, they see you and they see your work, and they're like, Oh, this is impossible.

I am never going to get in shape.

What would be like a first step, a first thing that you you say to motivate somebody that it can actually change their lives?

Wow, you know what?

This is this is something that the physical result and the physical goals,

the goal is a is a plus.

It is something that you have to do as a lifestyle without waiting for immediate results.

And that is the problem with social media.

Everything is

instant, fast.

No.

It takes years of work and commitment.

And yes, you can change your physique and your physical appearance.

You can make it better.

That is the whole source, just to create the best version of yourself, of what you have, of what God gave you, right?

Your machine,

your body, your mentality, and everything else.

So the problem is that

people want immediate results.

It took me years and years.

And I'm from Colombia, as you know, same Brazil.

Cosmetic surgery, for me, I think it was the only way to get a six-pack.

So I say I need to go

to get a surgery to get a six-pack because I was fat.

And it's not, because I did it myself.

So, it's possible.

But yeah,

it takes years of commitment.

So, it's important that you stop looking at the mirror because after the first week of being training and expect to see results immediately, because it doesn't happen overnight when it's real, you know, when it's work that you are putting there, and the real salt and the gift is found in the journey.

It sounds cliché, but it is it is true.

The journey is a reward.

Yeah, Yeah, I love it.

I love so much that you're saying that because, like you said, on Instagram, people see this post, like, oh, change your body in a week, and this crazy starvation diets and everything.

And people actually believe that, but, like you're saying, it has to be a long-term lifestyle.

Now, because my podcast, of course, it's about sex, dating, and relationships.

I always tell women that it starts within us, right?

And this is why I think taking care of your body and taking care of yourself is so important.

Because if you feel better about yourself, it's gonna help in your relationships and it's gonna help with the way the world perceives you.

But what I love about your work specifically, like your videos are super upbeat, you're always dancing and everything, but you're not telling people to starve, to be thin.

No, I was, I mean, I was bulimic.

My god.

So, I mean, we all struggle, you know,

let's keep it real.

real.

And especially now a time that social media is bombarding you with those models, skinny feet, it's a lot for your mind.

So,

yeah, it's hard.

It's hard to, it's a daily, I think it's a daily work.

And it's not, I mean, people think that they

feel alone, like it's not, uh they feel that they struggle by themselves, but this is everyone, everybody, every person that is in social media.

We are facing fears, insecurities daily.

And we have to work on it daily.

It's like the gym.

It's like habits.

It's your mind.

Most of the times you are not even thinking.

You are listening.

What is your brain saying?

Because we don't even are conscious of our thoughts.

So it's a mind training.

It's where sickness starts.

It's with your mind.

Yeah, I agree.

So people that don't work out, like they think it's too hard, you know, and they see the videos, and it's hard to take the first step and go to the gym.

And I see every single day, and I love that you're like, let's go, familia, let's go, let's go.

You call your followers familia, and it's so cute.

You build this community.

Do you know, Catherine, if you go down to my Instagram, I've been calling all my supporters on Instagram, I don't call followers, supporters familia

from the very beginning.

I've been on Instagram for 2017, and now people start to call familiar families.

And I love it.

Yeah, because at the end, we are familiar.

Yeah, family.

And you encourage at least me.

Like, sometimes I wake up in the morning, like, man, I don't want to do this workout and everything.

I'm not kidding.

I look at your stuff and I'm like, I want to do it.

And you're so positive about it.

And you're always dancing.

You show people that working out shouldn't be boring and it should be a fun part of your life, right?

That's your approach.

Yeah.

That is another tip that now that you were asking about what do you like give advice for people who want to start a life healthy style, active, is that you need to find something as well that you enjoy.

True.

That helps a lot.

If you know everybody, know everybody is like

made for high-intensity training, you know?

It's hard for you to stick with something that you don't like.

Same thing for your nutrition

no every diet or i don't do diets but no every nutrition plant meal program works for everyone you need to find out what works for you in fitness activities physical activities as well as as food as nutrition So true.

I don't believe in this fed diet.

I think you got to figure out something, like you said, long term that is going to make you happy, but it's going to make you stick with it, right?

Because these fat diets, if you go on a diet for two, three weeks and you stop the diet, you're gonna gain the weight all over again.

Exactly.

It is like the yo-yo effect.

Yeah, that's not good.

Now,

yeah, tell us a little bit, how did you start training celebrities?

Because I think, I don't know if it was last year or two years ago, or time goes by so fast.

I followed you

training Lily Pons.

And I love her and I love her music.

And she was amazingly open, both of you girls, like, because she's insanely successful, she's one of the top Latin artists in the world.

She has millions of followers, and she was like, Look, my body is not that great, I have insecurities.

And I think it's amazing when you girls that have this big familia are willing to put it out there and be real, right?

Because it's all about being real.

My work is all about being real.

And then she showed the step-by-step of your journey with her until she actually started loving fitness and becoming fit and transforming transforming her body.

Can you give us an idea how you started working with celebrities?

I mean, with Lele was amazing.

It was amazing because it was one of those gifts from pandemic, the pandemic, 2020.

She was depressed.

She was struggling with her physical appearance that she wasn't happy.

and we were friends already i was living in la she was living in la as well we were all locked down and she said, let's do it.

I want to get fit.

I want to change my body.

I want to work out on my physique.

And that is what we did.

She has an incredible work at it.

She gets upset when she wants something.

So that is what happens when you get upset with something.

We just start to train hard.

No, little by little, little by little.

She never trained.

before

she started with me.

So it was a beautiful, beautiful beautiful journey, and I'm honored to be part of that because it really helped not only for

her physical appearance, but also for her mental health.

That is more important than how you look like.

I think it's super important that you girls show that it's not really like, because I know especially teenagers, they look at social media and they think celebrities have this perfect life and nothing goes wrong.

But it's kind of interesting

to show that it doesn't, it's not about money, that women have insecurities and we worry about our bodies and how we look, regardless of what kind of job you do, right?

And celebrities many times need that kick.

Very true.

Yeah,

we all struggle.

We all have battles, you know, internal battles.

Yeah, we do.

But when I see your videos and I see you have an insane body, obviously, like major body goals.

You guys should go look at our social media, but you're not crowny, skinny like you're starving.

You're like you're working out, you have a fantastic body, but you're enjoying life.

You found a medium ground,

yeah.

That is that is the hardest part now that you mentioned to find that balance, you know.

It's a fine line because I was in the bodybuilding, I did competition, I

messed up my hormones because those diets, extreme diets, extreme workouts

to compete for what?

So that was crazy time that I've been there upset with my physical appearance.

And it hurts.

It's really bad for your health, for your mental health and your physical health and for emotional health too.

So I've never been skinny.

I remember the first time that I compete in a, I did the bikini competition.

I was still too big, too heavy for a bikini competition.

I need to like start like what's crazy.

Like those girls go through a lot of a lot of work and I mean I admire these people too.

I don't know the reasons of competing but this is not easy, you know.

It's a lot of stress in the body and the mind that they need to put in.

to be there

on that stage and competing is crazy crazy discipline and commitment but it's not for me obviously I tried

and I understood that I'm no skinny, I'm not gonna be skinny never in

my life.

This is my genetics, this is my body, and I just shape it the best way I can without stopping living life because I love food, I enjoy food, and

I like to go out,

you know, I like to have fun too.

I have to.

But I think that's a great role model because I'm sure a lot of girls in Colombia, a lot of girls in Latin America, a lot of girls in Miami are looking at your work and you are showing them that you can work out, that you can look great, that you can feel great, but you don't have to be like a size 000 and starve and eat only lettuce.

And everybody's different, Catherine.

You know, there is some, I mean, I admire those physics that I love.

For example, I love those skinny girls that are sent to work out and you get muscle and their body look insane.

I love it.

You know, it's the skinny with muscle.

I love that look.

But this is not me.

Right.

And that is the beauty of difference.

The difference, the beauty is everywhere.

In heavier bodies, on shabby bodies.

Everybody's beautiful.

Everything has a beauty.

And what you do.

is do your best every day work on your best self yes I love that Now, how I know you're not skinny, but you're fabulous.

I mean, I'm most girls without a butt.

It's like my biggest dream in the world is to have like the Latin big butt, like delicious butt, like you do.

Because I don't.

I have like the flat French butt of my father.

So I know you must get tons and tons of male attention.

How do you deal with it?

I wish you guys to see her face now.

She has the cutest smile.

I don't deal with it.

I don't

care.

You don't pay attention.

I don't care.

I mean, I mean, it's hard today, no?

Right.

It's so hard today nowadays as well, now that you are, you know, touching that topic.

I don't, I mean, men

just, you know, men are men.

What can I tell you?

Men are men.

Obviously, a lot, all of, almost all my guy, my single guy friends send me a message like is she single is she single i want to meet her she's so hot

i'm very single

she's very single so no problem receiving messages from single guys out there right no at all i hope i had to respond i had to answer this question for for my my male audience now as a single woman do you agree that if you take better because i always say that on my podcast and I get backlash for it, but I'm saying in a good way.

Like I always tell girls, if you take care of yourself, if you look better,

you're going to be a better person when it comes to your dating life.

Because I think it starts with us.

And many times I get backlash, like, oh, you're telling girls like that they should they're not pretty enough unless that's not what I'm saying but I'm saying because I'm single as well but I'm saying if you start with self-love the the way the world looks at you changes I think it's better for business.

I think it's better for personal relationships.

I think it's better for dating as well.

It needs to start with us.

I think self-care should be on top of our list.

Do you agree?

Absolutely.

This is number one.

If you don't love yourself, nobody's going to love you.

If you don't love yourself for who you are,

nobody is going to love you and you are not going to know your worth.

Yes.

And you're going to get damaged.

Like, it's not good.

I mean, the first half task is work on your self-love is your relation with yourself and that is what i as well been working a lot before i get into a relation serious relationship because it's a lot of work to do that we don't think about it you know internal work yeah it's all about putting ourselves first right

yeah now diana before i let you go because i know you're super pressed for time you created the the mo method of training.

Can you explain to people a little bit what that is?

The Mo method, Maux, Maox in Spanish, Mo in English.

Mo, yes.

My method is that you have to do what works for you.

So what I do is I do an assessment.

personal assessment and I evaluate and try to understand what is your lifestyle and your needs and your goals and depending on that I create the program for you, for your lifestyle and for your needs.

So it may be, as I said at the beginning, maybe

you are not gonna

commit with high-intensity training and weight training.

So I need to make up ways to make you work those muscles and move your body.

without feeling yourself that you are doing something that you don't like.

So maybe you like better water.

An example with Lele.

Lele loves water.

Lele hates workout.

So I'm just going to the water.

I get my weights.

I play nice music that she likes and I'm going to just do my workout into the water.

So that is max training.

That is the max method.

You got to twist it a little bit and make it work for yourself.

I love that.

I think that's fantastic because so many people think, oh my god, working out means I gotta go to the gym, I gotta lift the weights, la la la.

But if you personalize it, it should be fun, right?

It should be something that we enjoy.

Otherwise, you're not going to do it for the rest of your life.

And one thing that a lot of people ask, oh, but she's a celebrity trainer.

If she trains Le Le Pons, I mean, it's impossible.

But then you look on your Instagram and you offer these incredibly affordable programs that people can actually buy and do online.

Absolutely.

I have an application and as I told you at the beginning, I work on customized customized personal online coaching.

I love that, yeah.

So, you guys gotta check it out because I'm not kidding.

I'm gonna start myself.

I'm like, okay, I need a reset for the summer, I'm gonna jump on it.

And I wanted to bring you in because I always like meeting very real people like you, but people that are approachable, that are like you can actually go online and get it done and work with you.

You don't have to be a celebrity, correct?

Absolutely, everybody, yeah, everyone.

We are in the same boat.

You are amazing.

So if anybody out there is listening and they're super discouraged, because I know the first step is the hardest.

Maybe you're going through a breakup or maybe you wait too much during the holidays.

I don't know.

Do you have something that you tell people that it puts their fire up their ass?

They're going to be like, you know what?

I want to jump on this boat.

I want to change my life.

I want to change my body.

It's possible.

It's possible.

You have just to put the work in and believe.

We stopped believing.

We got this courage for, you know, for people, sometimes our environment.

So try to be surrounded by positivity.

The pages on Instagram that you follow yourself.

Try to be surrounded and follow good messages, things that are teaching you something.

You know, get more.

Get deeper and happier.

Yes, you're incredible.

Thank you so much for doing this.

And I hope when you come to LA, we can do another one in person,

and then we can do a little dance or something because I love your dance moves, you're incredible.

I haven't danced in a while.

I have to

start dancing again a little bit more because

it really helps.

It's therapy, you know.

It's therapy, and it's a great workout, too, right?

Oh, it's beautiful.

For me, it's my favorite workout.

I love it, and you have the most contagious energy.

Thank you with all my heart.

And I highly recommend you guys go check out her work.

Go look at her videos because even if you're sitting on the couch watching TV and you look at her videos, it makes you want to move and go for it.

You're

incredible.

Thank you.

You're incredibly inspiring.

Thank you with all my heart.

And let me know when you come to LA so we get together in person, okay?

Absolutely, Kat.
