Hi, guys, happy Friday.

I cannot believe this is the last episode of season three.

I did it.

I'm gonna take a break for like a couple of weeks, but I am so excited to do this one with a very special guest, Delphine.

You are known as the Tarot Junkie, correct?

I am.

I love that junkie.

I came up with the name

of a bit of a Jared Junkie, but yeah, that's what I go by.

Yeah, so when I told people that my listeners and people on my Instagram that I was going to interview a tarot reader, I've been getting tons of questions.

Yes.

Apparently, there's a lot of curiosity around the topic.

I am super curious about it because, as I was telling you now, I know nothing about it.

But that's good.

At least you're coming with no preconceived theories.

Yes, which is far better.

Right.

I mean,

I never had my cards read.

I've never been Chotaro reader.

Nothing against it.

It's just not something I ever pursue.

You have to be the only woman in Miami who's never heard her cards red just so you know yeah and the only Brazilian because Brazilians do that a lot yes that's true that's true yeah it's very soft I don't know maybe I never met one that I felt like doing it I don't know and I think to me and you're gonna help me fix the misconceptions and all the questions that the girls ask but like many times I guess the reason why I never thought about doing it is because in my mind I was thinking if they tell me something negative especially after everything I've been going through the past years that I told you a little bit about, I don't want to hear it.

So, I think I was always a little afraid.

And

so, that would be the first question: how does it work?

Is it always great news, or if you see something bad in the cards, would you tell the person?

How would you feel in that situation?

My darling, I am so glad you asked.

And you came to the right person.

Okay, so I apologize in advance because this is going to be a bit of a long answer.

But

if you go back to my previous posts on Instagram or Facebook, you see that I speak up against

the clichés, basically the myths around tarot a lot.

Love it.

Because,

ah,

there is a lot.

Yeah, there's a lot of myths.

And there's a lot of bad people in this

industry.

Oh, yeah.

So to speak.

and that's a shame because tarot okay so the short answer is tarot is a phenomenal tool for introspection self-analysis as a matter of fact it's actually used by a lot of

uh board licensed psychologists to help their um their patients

um

it was

really made legitimate by Carl Jung.

Do you know who Carl Jung is?

He was really the one who brought it to the forefront to light back in the 1940s with the theory of the archetypes, which a lot of people are familiar with.

And he came up with

this theory, and it's based on the characters of the major arcanas.

So that goes to say,

that goes to show how incredibly deep and accurate tarot can be.

Now, having said that,

it is so hard for someone like myself to get credibility because I think

for starters, Hollywood, movies,

popular culture

keeps on

promoting that ridiculous image of

the little gypsy woman with a turban on her head.

Exactly.

You know, sitting in the back of a circus, looking through a crystal bowl, who will always like put the fear of God into you

with some stupid prediction.

And I'm so sick of this.

So, number one, it's not about

seeing the future in the cards.

No.

No.

It's not about seeing the future in the cards.

So, that's baloney.

That's totally baloney.

Because I always joke with my girlfriends, like, every time they go to a tarot reader,

the person always says, oh, you are going to marry so-and-so.

You're going to be very happy.

You're going to do this.

You're going to do that.

They always have like the same kind of answer.

I'm I'm going to answer what you just said.

You're gonna be very happy.

Nobody has the ability to say that.

That's entirely up to you and the decisions you make.

You're going to marry this person, impossible.

There is no card in the deck that can give you the name or the accurate description of the person you're going to marry.

You may get some characteristics,

but that's as far as you're going to go.

Now,

there's two types of readers.

You have people who

stick to actually reading the meaning of the card, and then you have people who, in addition to reading, also have either clairvoyance or clairsentience or some type of

something else.

Is that your case?

Yes, it is.

Okay, and clair audience.

So I'm going to jump in here and ask you another question.

At what point, like one day, you just kind of start feeling it, you realize that

you have this sensitivity.

So, this is actually kind of a funny story.

For me, it started when I was three.

Wow.

The thing is, when you're a kid, you don't know any different.

You believe that whatever happens to you happens to everybody else.

Yeah.

You don't realize that you have something special.

Right.

Being the youngest of three kids,

when I started telling my mom that I would hear someone talk to me, she believed that I had made up an imaginary friend, which is quite common for children who

are bored or you know a little lonely.

But it went on.

It never stopped.

And once I reached the age of seven, my parents started to be really concerned to the point where they took me to a shrink, thinking I might have a serious problem.

And the shrink didn't find anything unusual.

They're like, well, she just might have a lot of imagination.

And then it just never stopped.

Then people started to be really shocked at the accuracy of the things that I was hearing.

And then over the years,

everybody kind of just like got used to, all right, well, she's the one who hears stuff.

I come from a cultural background where things of

that nature, let's just put it that way, are not very well accepted.

French culture is very intellectual, it's not really open to spiritual things.

I think not, well, you know, my dad was French, and by the way, she's saying you're French,

and my mom was Brazilian, and I think Brazil, I think a lot of cultures, yeah, I was raised Catholic because my mom was Catholic and I never really understood the religion.

It wasn't for me, and it was a huge problem when I was a kid.

But so I don't think necessarily might be, you know, French or Brazilian.

I think in general, most people don't want to hear about this stuff.

That's why there's like 10 million questions surrounding.

I need to, we need to do 10 podcasts

because it's like 10 million questions.

But so, to simplify, it's not about giving specific things about your future.

So, like you said, it's a lie.

We don't profit.

It's not about like, so the same thing, like you said, sometimes they show in the movies or something.

Oh, something horrible is going to happen.

Or don't go here or don't go there.

Oh, my God.

That's all crap, right?

Okay, okay.

And this is really important that you listeners know that.

Because that's the definition of a scam.

Okay, so first thing first, for those who follow, perhaps follow psychics or card readers on social media, A legit card reader

would never

go into your DM and say, oh, my energy drew me to you.

I feel very compelled to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

And then say something along the lines of,

you've been,

there's a spell on you.

Okay.

The minute you receive that type of message, it's a scam.

Block.

Yeah.

A legit reader, first of all, if it is a good reader, we are way too busy with requests to go and pick DMs.

Like this week alone, I have eight readings.

In the past three weeks, I think I'm going on 38 readings.

I don't have time to slide in people's DMs to tell them, hey, do you want a reading?

That's one.

The second thing is, personally, it is my personal beliefs.

Now, I understand that in some cultures, they feel very strongly about black magic and spells and all that stuff.

Okay, that's fine.

I'm not here to judge that.

I personally belie I don't believe in spells.

I think it's it's absolute horseshit.

It's absolute horseshit.

And anybody who tells you you need a spiritual cleanse and please buy my 250.

Oh, yeah, especially when it's expensive, right?

I know that really drives me crazy.

Absolutely run

away.

Nobody also, just so you know, in tarot, the timeline is fairly limited.

What we are seeing usually doesn't really go further than the next few months.

Why?

Because it's a reflection of the energy that you are bringing me.

And all I'm doing is interpreting.

Your energy three months from now is going to be something to be completely different.

So in general, like somebody that is interested in getting a reading, how often do you think they should do it?

I usually recommend not getting more than

maybe two to three readings per year.

I have clients who get seriously addicted and it's usually when they're dealing with you know a love interest that's driving them a little crazy.

I have turned down people on many occasions.

I've had women who want to come back every month and I tell them no

I'm not going to do it.

And so but do when you're looking at someone's cards do you see something kind of negative or bad or

I don't look at it as being negative.

There are some cards that are generally considered to be, you know, not, let's just say not so positive.

Like the tower,

for example is a card that usually makes people a little more uncomfortable what does it mean the tower is one of these

very shocking moment that's basically going to reveal some type of truth that you were not aware of and is going to force you

out of your comfort zone and basically I look at it as being an opportunity to know and ascend but it's it's usually not very pleasant I see but it depends, like I said, depends on how the person looks at it, right?

Well, the thing is,

a lot of readers like to put a lot of theatricals around it.

So, when they pull cards like the Tower or The Ten of Swords or the Three of Swords, which usually talks about betrayal or third party in a love triangle, right?

They put all these theatricals on, like, oh my god, you have it's that's just so freaking ridiculous.

To me, um, terror really is

an opportunity for you to reflect on certain aspects of your life or your psyche that you have been ignoring and that you really need to start looking at in order to make adjustments and to continue growing in the right direction.

Sounds very interesting.

Absolutely.

Yeah, and so you said since you were a little kid, you felt that you were, you listened to these voices.

The voices of

people you know, people you don't know.

Okay.

How do you explain it?

Stop here.

I'm not hearing voices because that would be the definition of schizophrenia.

So I would explain it.

I mean, sorry.

I don't know the wording.

I'm sorry.

Or messages.

I don't know.

I'm personally, I'm a woman of faith.

I'm a woman of God.

And I always have heard messages come in the same voice ever since I was little.

It is not my voice.

So I know it's not my conscience.

It's not just my

mind playing drinks.

No, you know it's somebody sending a message.

I honestly believe it's God.

Now, when I say that, it sounds very pretentious.

People might think, who does she think she is?

Like, God talks to her.

Let me just say something.

God talks to everybody.

Not just to me.

I'm not special.

The problem is there's so much interference in any given day, right?

We're so distracted with social media, with electronics, with our everyday life, with our problems, with our family, with our ego that ego gets in the way that i think a lot of people kind of lose the connection and no longer have the ability to hear him talk to them so i mean he's smart he'll find other ways but does he always say to you something related to your life and people you know or no no people you don't even know complete random strangers i will hear things about the woman that walks by on the street

the man and the woman sitting a few tables away from me at a table.

It can be very random.

Also,

what the majority of my clients don't understand is that

I don't have control over it.

It's not Netflix.

I don't get to

turn it on and off.

Exactly.

Turn it on and off and ask questions.

It doesn't work this way.

It's the other way around.

It's whenever he decides to come through and deliver some type of message

that he feels is extremely relevant for the person to receive.

And most of the messages, frankly, are about getting closure on some really important situation or sometimes maybe send a little bit of a warning.

But I've had so many people come to me and say, well, can you ask?

No, I can't.

It doesn't

come.

It can come or it doesn't come.

And if you are with someone and it comes, do you tell them?

Not always.

Not always.

Not unless I feel it's something of an extreme importance really well let me tell you it puts me in very awkward

I've had I've heard things sometimes that were extremely awkward and maybe the person doesn't want to hear it no it's just when when it happens to you like it happened to me on the New York City subway when I lived in New York it happens to me on the street it happens to me at dinner parties how do you walk up to a complete stranger and tell him hey my name is Delphine?

You don't know me.

Please don't get mad, but I need to tell you that X, Y, and Z.

How do you do that?

And not.

Well, the problem is, most people are not going to be responsive, right?

Or they're going to think you're crazy.

Very triggered.

I've had people get very mad at me.

I've had some people start asking me, who's sending you?

Is it my ex-husband?

Is it, I mean,

I've had all kinds of reactions.

For the better part of my life, I had to deal with being labeled as either a liar oh she's making it up for attention really

because really i would not think that that's a very pleasant thing to do why right why in the world would you do that like you said it's hard for you to even say it it really isolates you you're really ostracized growing up as a kid in a small town

other kids would make fun of me um yeah i can't imagine it's it's severed a lot of my friendships.

Try starting a relationship and having to break that down.

Yeah, I think it has to be someone that really believes in you and is, like you said, very open-minded, right, to it.

Otherwise, they're not for you.

I know.

No, I know.

Most people will give me that look like,

yeah, okay.

No, I know.

All right.

But I mean, I agree.

Very few people are open-minded to this and other things, but I feel like a man should be with you.

They need to completely not only accept it but support it.

So here's what's really interesting.

For many many many many years I never really spoke about the fact that at least I wasn't I wasn't open about the fact that I hear things and that I learned the art of tarot.

I was kind of in the closet about it.

This whole thing really took off during the pandemic.

Wow, really?

So we're talking 46 years of being in the closet about it because I'm 47.

The way it started is during the pandemic, I had a good friend of mine reach out to me.

Obviously, everybody was feeling very insecure, very afraid about the future.

Yes.

And say, hey, don't you read cards?

I was like, yeah.

And he asked for a reading.

And not to blow my, not to toot my own horn, but

I am pretty good at what I do.

And the next day, he went on his social media.

He happens to have a pretty large following.

And he absolutely bragged about his reading and that's where it it took like wildfire wow yeah i think a lot of people out there have wanted if you do a great job which obviously you do and it was on and also i don't charge for my readings uh-huh my readings yeah i saw on your instagram yeah um i do them on a donation basis but but that's some that's great and i think it validates your work and i think it's amazing to me the goal is not money it really is to help give people clarity and guidance but within that week, I had literally dozens of people reach out to me.

And that really got me thinking, okay, I think it's time for me to make something it is.

And now I find myself in this situation where everybody who is following me completely accepts the fact that this is who I am.

This is what I do.

And nobody needs to believe that this is weird.

So, like I said, you know, there's who I, this is my position.

People that like you, they're going to like you and believe in you and appreciate your work.

And the people people that don't, you know, get the hell out of your life because it's better to find out anyways, right?

And then you surround yourself with just the good people, you know?

People that believe in what you do.

I think at the end of the day, that's super important.

Now, when we talk about Tarot, and I told people on my Instagram, send her questions, and I think I ask you the same.

In our minds, people that don't know a lot about the subject, we always associate Tarot with signs and oh, is that person compatible with that person?

Should a Pisces data blah blah blah, is it related or is this just like a misconception in our mind that a tarot reader knows all these things about signs and compatibility?

No, not at all.

Two completely different things.

Two completely different things.

And it's interesting because so many girls send these men these questions.

Oh, ask her if this sign is good with that sign.

Ask is it.

So

there is a lot of misunderstanding about that.

There are two worlds that collide,

but they are two separate worlds.

There are tarot readers and then there are astrologers.

Both worlds require a lot of study.

Oh, yeah, I know.

In order to become a good tarot reader, you need to study the tarot for a very long time.

I've been studying it for 25 years, and I feel like I'm never done.

Oh, my God.

25 years.

Yeah, I started when I was 22.

And it's the same for astrology.

Astrology is extremely complicated.

I mean, you need to be good with numbers and all that stuff.

There are a lot of tarot readers who incorporate astrology in their readings.

If you go on YouTube, a lot of them choose to do collective readings by

astrological sign.

Here's why I have a beef with that.

You really have to

look at these readings as entertainment.

Go into them really with the mentality that it's just for fun.

The problem is a lot of people get hooked up on them.

They get very addicted to following these readers on YouTube, which by the way, make a fortune.

And good for them.

Good for them.

It's a great business model.

But what people need to understand is that a collective reading is a collective reading.

It's collective energy.

There is no way that it can be accurate for your own personal situation.

And I've met a lot of women who tell me, but I really resonated with this.

Trust me, if you want to resonate with a reading, you will.

I guarantee you that if you are are a cancer,

I can make you listen right now to a reading for Virgo, and you're going to tell me I resonate with it.

Because you go looking for the synchronicities.

Yeah, of course.

And you have to be very careful not to fall in that trap of becoming addicted, particularly to the readings that keep on predicting every week that your twin flame is going through a spiritual transformation and is coming back very soon and is going to apologize for being a player.

Yeah, that's

what I'm saying.

And all these readings keep on talking about exactly that.

Now, in your personal opinion, do you believe in sign compatibility?

Do you think it plays a part?

Not really.

I do see how most people who share the same sign do have some common characteristics.

Yeah.

But do you think it's a good idea that two people that share the same sign date, or it's a bad idea?

It doesn't matter.

No, not.

can't you can't disqualify someone who could potentially be a great match for you just because he was born on February 20th.

I know.

And you know a lot of people do.

I have so many friends like when they meet the guy the first thing they say oh he's a cancer oh he's horrible I cannot date a cancer and I'm thinking like

that's a little tough right is their fear of commitment talking and they're looking for excuses to to disqualify somebody maybe

but

first of all and that's something that most people don't know we have it all wrong because they're they're not 12 size They're 13 so most of us have our sign wrong Really?

Yeah, they're they still haven't made the 13th sign official.

Oh my god

sign not 12 what is the 13 I don't even know its name.

It's like a complicated name, but so we would change all the dates

you know everybody talks about how for instance I'm a Leo supposedly I'm supposed to absolutely hate Aquarius with a passion.

Yeah, I don't know, I really don't know about that.

Um,

I really wouldn't yeah, I don't know if I believe, yeah, I honestly don't, but so many people around me there, because I do the dating podcast and everything, they are always talking about signs and sign compatibility, and it's so important, it's so important.

There's so much more that goes into a chart than just your sun sign, there's your rising, there's your ascending, there's your moon, there's your Venus, there's all of that.

Yeah, so do you think think other things like the day the person was born,

the hour, or do you think all of these things play?

Do you really want to get into that?

We're going to get really deep.

Because there's a lot of people.

It's not that.

There's a lot of other

beliefs that go into it that are much more mystical.

Much more mystical than astrology.

Oh, wow.

And I'm not going to get into it.

Okay.

Because I'm really going to spook everybody.

But

I lean towards, let's just say, other types of beliefs

that look at what goes into a person's name, the alphabet, the numbers that correspond to each letters.

Oh, I think I've heard that before.

That is actually, when you start looking into this, it's absolutely fascinating.

And there's much more accuracy into

this type of

mysticism.

Let's just put it this way.

But it it's a rabbit hole that you don't want to get so.

Oh, I know, it's too complicated.

Let's stick to the thorough reading.

So for somebody that never did it or did it with this fake, phony,

I don't even know, like a lot of the psychics, like you see these little psychic shops in South Beach.

The ones that do a reading for five years.

Yeah, for tourists, I'm like, seriously, is this even legal?

Can they do this?

Technically, yeah.

They can just say, Hi, I'm a psychic.

You don't need a license to be a legal reader.

You just tell people that, like,

you're licensed.

I'm licensed.

Oh, wow.

I'm a licensed tarot reader.

Not that it means

I took a course from the Shaw Academy and I'm licensed.

It doesn't give me, okay, let me just say this.

It doesn't give me any more credibility than anybody else.

But that's just because, that's my personality.

I'm a type A.

Anything I'm going to do, I'm not just going to do it.

I'm going to fucking perfect it.

So,

but technically, no, you don't need a license.

That's why there are so many fakes out there.

So when somebody comes to you, like let's say me, I've never had my cars read.

I have no idea what to expect.

What would you say?

Don't ask for a generic reading.

Don't ask for a generic reading.

So what kind of generic reading?

If people ask you, what would you like me to look into?

Don't say, oh, I don't know.

Just like, just in general, here's why.

I look at tarot reading the same way I look at manifestation.

The more specific you are about what you're trying to manifest, the greater chances you are to see this thing coming into reality in the 3D, right?

Okay, tarot reading, here's how it works for me.

I can pull cards and they're basically going to be mirroring your energy, your reality.

But if I don't know what I'm looking for, then how the hell am I supposed to read it?

Anybody who lays card and is doing it generic

and starts coming up with this super elaborate story, and usually pay attention to the fact that they all have the same exact script.

You are a very generous person.

People were always very jealous of you.

Yada, yada, yada, yada.

They all have the same script.

If they start giving you this whole story based on a generic question, then you know for a fact you're dealing with someone who's fake.

Interesting.

Yeah.

That's very interesting.

Give a precise answer to a generic question.

That makes no sense.

That's common sense, right?

And we picked, she told me to pick a deck, which I thought is really cool.

I don't know how this works.

And I saw this Alice Wonderland tarot deck, and it's a story that I always loved.

I have like these little quotes from the

rabbit, and I think it's just a magical story.

So I'm excited.

And by the way, I got really emotional

about everything.

About all Alice

About everything, like about life, about experiences.

Yeah, ever since, because I was telling you a little bit before I started, you know, I lost my mom and then I lost my husband and then I lost all of my stuff, which is the book I wrote.

And my life is like this journey of rebuilding and learning how to live again.

So I'm like a child.

I cry a lot.

It's actually perfect because the tarot is actually called A Journey of the Fool.

Really?

Yes, the whole 22 First arcanas uh are about a journey and it starts with the number zero which is the fool embarking on a new journey and then the whole progression all the way to the world which is the completion of the cycle that's a season there you go amazing right perfect yeah and i feel like i'm i've been going through this journey and and it's been crazy of course for all of us because of covet but to me i feel like i'm starting my life over so forgive me if i get it

I have people crying on the readings.

I cry with them sometimes.

Like the past three weeks, I've been very, very, very heavy in energy.

I've had people bring in these situations

incredibly traumatic.

So it's okay.

I'm used to it.

So you were asking me earlier if I have any rules.

I don't.

like sage they're like i need to clean i know i know you do you i'm not yours

Am I going to have a nice, normal, loving,

Logically,

my first reaction is to say, of course you are.

Because anything your heart desires, you know, the Bible says, ask and you shall receive.

what I have to do is literally I look sometimes I like to joke that God is kind of like Alexa all you have to say is God can I please get that listen people I bring people to tears when I say I wish you would understand yeah how much he is yearning for you to connect with him

he wants nothing more than to give you everything you your heart wants but you're not paying attention to him well I believe in manifesting and saying it and I learned that just a while ago I learned it like last year yeah you totally have to believe and and tell the universe

yeah that and I do that a lot all the time

seven billion people to take care of you can be wishy-washy about what you want send me a man tell me more but they send one it's one crappier than the other

and then the only really your only job is to believe the same way you used to believe as a kid in whatever it was, centau, whatever you believed in.

This is kind of your present energies.

Two of Cups really talks about partnerships, union,

So that's already a very good indication.

There's no rule.

I've had readings that were completed in 15-20 minutes.

Usually men are very to the point.

They usually want to know about career, money, that type of stuff.

So, but can the person ask about different things in one reading?

Like, I asked about a relationship.

Can I can you ask about, oh, do you see success in my projects?

Do you see you can ask a bunch of different things?

And then you limit the number of there's a point, however, when I feel like the person is pushing it a little bit, yeah, too much, but you pick different cards for different subjects.
